Wetherholt Near Return, ROY Race Heats Up | St. Louis Cardinals News
Rookie JJ Wetherholt is on the verge of returning from wrist tendinitis and could make a big impact in the Cardinals’ push for Rookie of the Year, even as he battles tough competition. Though sidelined since August 30th, he’s making progress and is expected back during their upcoming homestand—just not in time for the final road game. Before his injury, he was crushing it with 17 homers and 48 RBIs. With a long-term contract through 2035, his return isn’t just timely—it’s vital for St. Louis’ future.
