- 0:05Speaker 1: Jim Dunaway, Lance Taylor, Ryan Brown, live. The next round
- 0:12Speaker 1: is on now. Well, here we go again. I mean,
- 0:19Speaker 1: I feel like we do this show every single Monday.
- 0:21Speaker 1: What a crazy weekend in college football. We just, if
- 0:23Speaker 1: you were with us on the Next Round platform, this
- 0:25Speaker 1: is how it started with Tom Lugenbill on Monday Morning Live.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Thank you for joining us on the Sporting State. We're
- 0:30Speaker 1: going to start it the same exact way here with
- 0:32Speaker 1: Sporting State. Jim Dunaway still in Ireland. He's Lance Taylor.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I'm Ryan Brown. The entire backroom crew is here. Tyler John,
- 0:40Speaker 1: Scott Forrester, Brooks Carter, they're all back there. Helping us out. LT,
- 0:45Speaker 1: another Saturday of college football where you're like, well, I
- 0:48Speaker 1: thought I knew what I was talking about. I guess
- 0:49Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I just, I don't get it. I mean, it
- 0:52Speaker 2: is the new reality that we live in. It is
- 0:54Speaker 2: NFL-like and anything can happen. We said, look, there was
- 0:57Speaker 2: so much carnage. When you look at week seven, there's
- 1:00Speaker 2: no way we can, you know, replicate that in week eight.
- 1:03Speaker 2: And it started early and often and just, I mean,
- 1:07Speaker 2: the Cincinnati, Texas Tech, I don't get how, and I
- 1:09Speaker 2: do think Arizona's a pretty good team. Again, once we
- 1:12Speaker 2: anoint somebody really good in the Big 12, they completely
- 1:14Speaker 2: fall apart. But, you know, you go back to that
- 1:16Speaker 2: game in Tucson, I think it was three weeks ago,
- 1:19Speaker 2: Cincinnati could do absolutely nothing. And then they just run
- 1:21Speaker 2: wild on, you know, what has been a pretty good
- 1:24Speaker 2: Texas Tech defense. Not as good as it was in 2025, but.
- 1:28Speaker 2: For them to give up 37 and for what they
- 1:31Speaker 2: did on the ground, I mean, that tab kid went 173,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and the Bearcats overall on the ground had 255 rushing yards,
- 1:40Speaker 2: six and a half per carry. I mean, it was
- 1:42Speaker 2: just an annihilation. You almost had the upset with Michigan.
- 1:47Speaker 1: If they had any offense, which they don't.
- 1:48Speaker 2: That was one of the worst offensive games I've ever seen.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Klatt will join us in the second half of
- 1:52Speaker 1: the show, 1130 Central Time, 1230 Eastern. Joel Klatt from Fox.
- 1:56Speaker 1: We'll ask him if it's the worst combined offense he's
- 1:59Speaker 1: ever seen in a game. You had that one. You
- 2:01Speaker 1: get to the midday window. We do get the BYU-UCF upset.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We're going to talk about all these games in depth.
- 2:06Speaker 1: But then you get to the late window. Texas Ole
- 2:09Speaker 1: Miss was wild. Houston-Utah was a pretty crazy game. I mean,
- 2:15Speaker 1: we just keep having these fun college football Saturdays where
- 2:20Speaker 1: anything can happen. And I get it. If you're used
- 2:22Speaker 1: to your team being very predictable and dominant, that doesn't
- 2:25Speaker 1: exist anymore. And you're like, this is no fun at
- 2:27Speaker 1: all to me. But for the average fan just sitting
- 2:29Speaker 1: and watching football, these Saturdays are a blast.
- 2:32Speaker 2: It's absolutely incredible. And now we're down, what, to two
- 2:35Speaker 2: undefeated teams left in college football.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And I'm not sure if either one of them are
- 2:38Speaker 1: any good.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Well, yeah, and I thought going into, and it's funny,
- 2:40Speaker 2: Utah's got one of those votes, one first-place vote in
- 2:43Speaker 2: the Associated Press that came out yesterday.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, they're not a number one team.
- 2:46Speaker 2: No. That's a joke. But I did think the way
- 2:49Speaker 2: they play defensively in limiting Connor Wegman and especially, you know,
- 2:54Speaker 2: Mackay Hughes and that rushing attack because Houston is one
- 2:57Speaker 2: of the more balanced teams in college football. And then
- 3:00Speaker 2: Utah's offense finally shows up in the fourth quarter. You know,
- 3:02Speaker 2: Dampier wasn't good throwing the football. He was incredible over
- 3:05Speaker 2: 150 rushing yards. But I thought going into that game,
- 3:08Speaker 2: I was like, Houston's going to win this game. We're
- 3:10Speaker 2: going to be down to one undefeated team at the
- 3:13Speaker 2: end of the night. And, you know, they ended up
- 3:15Speaker 2: winning the game, but still just how wild this whole
- 3:17Speaker 2: thing has been. It's really difficult to go Conference by conference.
- 3:22Speaker 2: And like, I think you can identify the top team
- 3:24Speaker 2: in some of these conferences.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But the second best team is really, really difficult.
- 3:29Speaker 1: You know, Lugabelle brought this up a moment ago. I
- 3:31Speaker 1: just want to touch on this real quick before we
- 3:33Speaker 1: start looking at the games themselves. If you just go
- 3:37Speaker 1: in power five, you know, Indiana, Michigan, one score game.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Texas Tech, Cincinnati never was a one score game. It's
- 3:50Speaker 1: going to take me a minute because Kansas Baylor, one
- 3:52Speaker 1: score game. Oregon, Illinois, not being a one score game. BYU, UCF,
- 3:58Speaker 1: one score game. Iowa, Minnesota, one score game. It ends
- 4:03Speaker 1: up Oklahoma, Mississippi State, one score game. Tennessee, South Carolina,
- 4:06Speaker 1: one score game. Texas A & M, Alabama didn't end
- 4:08Speaker 1: up being that way. I mean, you can start going
- 4:10Speaker 1: through this and you're like, holy crap, we'll get a
- 4:12Speaker 1: lot of one-score games now. You just do not get
- 4:14Speaker 1: that in college football.
- 4:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and look, for everybody that says college football trending
- 4:19Speaker 2: in the wrong direction, I think we all are in
- 4:21Speaker 2: agreement the 2014 playoff is way too much, but where
- 4:23Speaker 2: we are now, parity-wise, that you can turn on any game,
- 4:27Speaker 2: 11 o'clock, 2.30, 6.30, 9 o'clock games, and you've got
- 4:32Speaker 2: these one-score games, much like the NFL, it just makes
- 4:34Speaker 2: it that much more intriguing and That's one of the
- 4:37Speaker 2: reasons Vegas has adjusted to these numbers. And you're seeing
- 4:40Speaker 2: smaller and smaller spreads because there are obviously so many
- 4:43Speaker 2: one possession games.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 3: All right.
- 4:46Speaker 1: We're going to do what we do every Monday following
- 4:49Speaker 1: a college football Saturday, though Dunaway is not here. We'll
- 4:51Speaker 1: just go back and forth. What we do is we
- 4:53Speaker 1: just pick a game and talk about them. So you
- 4:55Speaker 1: get first pick LT. Where do you want to start?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Let's go to Austin, Texas. You know, I thought it
- 5:00Speaker 2: was so interesting going into that game. Texas had lost
- 5:03Speaker 2: back-to-back games and Ole Miss was anointed the second best
- 5:07Speaker 2: team in the SEC and Texas is two and a
- 5:09Speaker 2: half point favorite. Everybody's like, there is no chance that Texas,
- 5:12Speaker 2: the way their offense is playing, is going to be
- 5:15Speaker 2: able to handle Trinidad Chambliss. Chambliss, I think the worst
- 5:18Speaker 2: performance maybe I've seen from Chambliss. Is that fair? Certainly
- 5:22Speaker 2: in the.
- 5:22Speaker 1: First half, yeah. The first half, he was really bad.
- 5:24Speaker 1: He came back in the second half and played better.
- 5:27Speaker 1: But first half, he was terrible.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Well, look, in the Ole Miss defense that we all
- 5:30Speaker 2: recognized before they had that get-right game against Vanderbilt, That
- 5:35Speaker 2: Ole Miss defense was not good. I mean, Relique Brown
- 5:38Speaker 2: running up and down the field.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's been bad all year. It's really been their Achilles heel.
- 5:41Speaker 2: And look, Arch wasn't good again. Arch had freaking three
- 5:45Speaker 2: turnovers again.
- 5:46Speaker 1: He was good in the first half, but complete game,
- 5:49Speaker 1: he was not good.
- 5:50Speaker 2: But look, they find a way to win. And again,
- 5:52Speaker 2: it just more and more bottlenecks what we've got in
- 5:54Speaker 2: the SEC because now Ole Miss has their second loss.
- 5:57Speaker 2: I mean, how many teams right now in the SEC
- 5:59Speaker 2: have two losses?
- 6:01Speaker 1: And it ain't done either, buddy. We're going to have
- 6:02Speaker 1: a bunch of three-loss teams in the SEC.
- 6:03Speaker 2: We are, yeah. I mean, right now you've got one, two, three, four, five, six,
- 6:09Speaker 2: seven two-loss teams.
- 6:10Speaker 1: You lose one of those next week. Not this Saturday,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but next Saturday with Bama and LSU. So one of
- 6:15Speaker 1: those will fall out.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think we're to the point now that
- 6:19Speaker 2: we really need to, and I think it was Klatt
- 6:22Speaker 2: or Brock. Somebody last week was like, you know, maybe
- 6:25Speaker 2: it wasn't one of those guys.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:27Speaker 2: But they were like, you know, people that are just
- 6:29Speaker 2: writing three losses going to get in. I think it
- 6:31Speaker 2: was Klatt because he was talking about the Big 12. Like,
- 6:33Speaker 2: a three-loss team's not just necessarily going to get it.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I think we might have multiple three-loss teams, especially because
- 6:38Speaker 2: the Big 12 was over there flexing, saying we've got
- 6:41Speaker 2: three teams that should be in this. Now Texas Tech loses.
- 6:44Speaker 2: As good as that BYU win was against Notre Dame,
- 6:47Speaker 2: the loss to Central Florida might even outweigh that.
- 6:50Speaker 1: All right, we'll get back to Orange, but you just
- 6:52Speaker 1: brought this up. We've got all these two-loss teams. Ole
- 6:54Speaker 1: Miss is one of them. Here's Pete Golding being asked
- 6:56Speaker 1: after this loss... are you still saying, you know, is
- 7:00Speaker 1: everything still in front of you? Everything Ole Miss will
- 7:02Speaker 1: still accomplish? Is it still on the table? Here's how
- 7:04Speaker 1: Pete answered that. Pete, does it still feel like everything
- 7:07Speaker 1: is in front of this.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Team long term?
- 7:09Speaker 2: Oh, 100%.
- 7:10Speaker 5: I mean, there's not an undefeated team left, you know,
- 7:13Speaker 5: obviously in this league. So we control our own destiny.
- 7:15Speaker 5: And you go, I mean, you ain't got no my bads.
- 7:18Speaker 5: I mean, we said all that. And that's what I
- 7:20Speaker 5: said in the locker room. You ain't got no days
- 7:21Speaker 5: off anymore.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You know, that's over.
- 7:23Speaker 5: So Um, you know, it's not easy week in and
- 7:26Speaker 5: week out, but we got the right group. We got
- 7:28Speaker 5: the right type of guys. We got good players. So
- 7:30Speaker 5: we're going to go to work and see what happens.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah. We talked about this all year or all off season,
- 7:35Speaker 1: I should say, but this schedule seemed too daunting for them. Um,
- 7:39Speaker 1: They have no room for error, and they still got
- 7:41Speaker 1: to host Georgia.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I was going to say, do they really control
- 7:43Speaker 2: their own destiny? Because, you know, they beat Georgia. They
- 7:45Speaker 2: give Georgia that second conference loss, but they've already got two,
- 7:48Speaker 2: so I don't know what the tiebreaker situation would look like.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I don't either, but Lance, well, in terms of playing
- 7:53Speaker 1: for the SEC championship, maybe not, but in terms of
- 7:56Speaker 1: going to the playoffs. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, two-loss
- 7:57Speaker 1: team with wins over LSU and Georgia. They're in absolute block. Yeah, yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: for sure.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I just... I mean, there's going to be a three-loss
- 8:05Speaker 2: team more than likely, at least the way this thing
- 8:07Speaker 2: is trending, that doesn't have to go to Atlanta to
- 8:09Speaker 2: play in that game. Or maybe there's a three-loss team
- 8:12Speaker 2: that plays in Atlanta and takes on a fourth loss.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Yeah, who knows? That would be fascinating right there because
- 8:18Speaker 1: that would be the test of our theory that you're
- 8:20Speaker 1: always in if you're in Atlanta, if you take on
- 8:22Speaker 1: that fourth loss. So 34-27, they lose the game, Ole
- 8:26Speaker 1: Miss does. And they are 2-2 over their last four
- 8:29Speaker 1: after that blowout loss to Florida. Wins over Vandy, Missouri,
- 8:33Speaker 1: and Texas. lost at Texas. It's just, this is emblematic
- 8:37Speaker 1: of college football. They get blown out by Florida. They
- 8:39Speaker 1: blow out Vandy. They blow out Missouri. They're on the
- 8:42Speaker 1: verge of a blowout in the first half. I thought Texas,
- 8:45Speaker 1: I don't know why I had any faith in Texas,
- 8:46Speaker 1: but I thought, man, Texas is going to blow them
- 8:48Speaker 1: off the field. To Ole Miss' credit, they at least
- 8:50Speaker 1: came back and made it a game in the second half.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Weird clock management by Pete.
- 8:53Speaker 2: The Emmett Mosley mishandle on the onside kick. At that moment,
- 8:59Speaker 2: I was like, damn, Ole Miss is going to win
- 9:00Speaker 2: this game. And if you go from blowing a 14-point
- 9:04Speaker 2: home lead as a double-digit favorite against Florida and then
- 9:06Speaker 2: blowing a 21-point lead at home to Ole Miss, like
- 9:11Speaker 2: that money, they would have been getting it together.
- 9:13Speaker 1: You think they're passing the hat?
- 9:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think they're passing the hat at that point
- 9:16Speaker 2: with three consecutive losses and blowing double-digit leads in back-to-back
- 9:19Speaker 2: weeks at home 100%. And that got really, really uneasy.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It got very uneasy. All right, to Arch Manning because
- 9:26Speaker 1: he was such a focus in this game. 18 of 30, 2-12,
- 9:30Speaker 1: a touchdown and two interceptions. First half, Arch. Look better.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Second half, Arch, not so much. It's not all on
- 9:37Speaker 1: Arch Manning, though. I mean, you could not have walked
- 9:40Speaker 1: that ball to Cam Coleman any better than he did
- 9:43Speaker 1: at 40 yards down the field, and it goes right
- 9:44Speaker 1: through Coleman's hand. It's a walk-in touchdown.
- 9:46Speaker 2: You know, Cam Coleman ends up with the one grab,
- 9:48Speaker 2: 12 yards, and he's an enigma.
- 9:50Speaker 1: He really is.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I mean, I really think that this could end up
- 9:54Speaker 2: being a George Pickens situation. Now, the difference was Pickens
- 9:56Speaker 2: was never on the field because he was always in
- 9:58Speaker 2: Kirby's doghouse. Yeah. But you see the professional career that
- 10:01Speaker 2: Pickens has now had from Pittsburgh to Dallas, and you
- 10:04Speaker 2: just wonder if with the talent, and look, he's got
- 10:07Speaker 2: to get it between the ears, but, you know. is
- 10:10Speaker 2: his NFL career going to be much better than what's
- 10:12Speaker 2: going on right now.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Arch Manning did have three total TDs. He had the
- 10:15Speaker 1: rush TD, including the one that looked like the famous
- 10:18Speaker 1: run his uncle had, where you pull it out and
- 10:20Speaker 1: you run the naked boot and nobody's over there. So
- 10:23Speaker 1: he did at least score three total touchdowns. Here's his
- 10:25Speaker 1: head coach after the game asking, hey, look, you challenged
- 10:29Speaker 1: Arch Manning. Did you see results of the challenge?
- 10:33Speaker 6: I think as much or more than anything was his resolve,
- 10:36Speaker 6: his grit, his mentality was, was important for the team
- 10:41Speaker 6: because I think the edginess that I touched on, I
- 10:45Speaker 6: think carried over to our team. And I think our
- 10:47Speaker 6: team played that way because of him. And he's the quarterback.
- 10:52Speaker 6: And when he responds that way, when he plays that way,
- 10:55Speaker 6: when he shows that fire in his belly that he
- 10:58Speaker 6: had tonight, I think the team responds to that. And
- 11:01Speaker 6: I'm just very proud of him because this isn't easy.
- 11:05Speaker 1: His world, his life is.
- 11:06Speaker 6: Different than anybody else I've ever been around that's been
- 11:10Speaker 6: part of this sport.
- 11:12Speaker 1: But the guy keeps coming back.
- 11:13Speaker 6: And so we're lucky to have him as our guy.
- 11:16Speaker 1: So after two consecutive 27-24 losses where they blew a lead,
- 11:20Speaker 1: They avoid blowing the lead against Ole Miss, and now
- 11:23Speaker 1: for them, it's State, who's banged up, we'll get to
- 11:26Speaker 1: that in a little bit, at Missouri, at LSU. I mean,
- 11:31Speaker 1: they've got to walk the tightrope here with these two
- 11:33Speaker 1: losses Texas does, but they narrowly avoided adding loss number
- 11:37Speaker 1: three and being out of this thing Saturday night.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I do think Texas now with not only the
- 11:43Speaker 2: fourth quarter comeback against Ohio State on the resume, but
- 11:46Speaker 2: now a win over a top ten in Ole Miss,
- 11:48Speaker 2: they can absorb that third loss. So I think Texas
- 11:51Speaker 2: is probably in as good of shape as anyone to
- 11:54Speaker 2: go 9-3 and be able to get in this thing.
- 11:55Speaker 2: But they do have, you know.
- 11:57Speaker 1: They don't need that third loss to be Arkansas or
- 11:58Speaker 1: somebody like that. They could absorb it if it's at Missouri,
- 12:01Speaker 1: at LSU, maybe even at A & M. Yeah. I mean,
- 12:05Speaker 1: they've got three road games, or three of four right
- 12:08Speaker 1: there at the end on the road.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, what will be tricky if they obviously lose two
- 12:11Speaker 2: of those, the door is shut.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Yeah, the door is absolutely slammed. So that is Texas,
- 12:16Speaker 1: that is Ole Miss, one of those two teams. Both
- 12:19Speaker 1: those two teams are still alive. It is hard to
- 12:22Speaker 1: believe they're both going to get to the finish line
- 12:23Speaker 1: with just two losses, both of them with just two
- 12:25Speaker 1: losses after Saturday night. I'll go next, and I'll go
- 12:29Speaker 1: to Auburn and LSU. And as we talked about a lot...
- 12:34Speaker 1: with lugan bill earlier the one thing i have learned
- 12:39Speaker 1: in college football really the last two years but definitely
- 12:42Speaker 1: this year one week is not indicative of the next
- 12:44Speaker 1: like used to in college football with teams like the
- 12:47Speaker 1: nick saban era alabama ryan days ohio state teams even
- 12:51Speaker 1: clemson under dabbo sweeney when they had it going before
- 12:53Speaker 1: they fell apart one week built on another like you
- 12:56Speaker 1: could you could pretty well predict what was going to
- 12:59Speaker 1: happen week to week to week with these teams there's
- 13:01Speaker 1: nobody that does that in college football anymore And Auburn
- 13:04Speaker 1: is the poster child of that. The team that somehow
- 13:06Speaker 1: was good enough to go to Athens, pull off the
- 13:09Speaker 1: upset against Georgia, comes back to Auburn and lays about
- 13:12Speaker 1: as big an egg as anybody laid on Saturday.
- 13:14Speaker 2: I mean, Alex Golish goes from signature win to his
- 13:17Speaker 2: first blowout absorbed as a head coach. An embarrassing loss.
- 13:22Speaker 2: And I did get a text from an Auburn fan saying,
- 13:24Speaker 2: What would Georgia in Baton Rouge against LSU with that
- 13:28Speaker 2: number be? And I said, I think LSU is a
- 13:29Speaker 2: one and a half point favorite.
- 13:30Speaker 7: Wow.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I think when we see our SEC power rankings tomorrow,
- 13:33Speaker 2: that is the LSU team that we saw against Clemson.
- 13:37Speaker 2: That is the LSU team that when you look at
- 13:39Speaker 2: the analytics, you know, the analytics showed maybe the best
- 13:42Speaker 2: team in the SEC. They played like it, scoring on
- 13:45Speaker 2: five of those first six possessions. Sam Leavitt. I do
- 13:48Speaker 2: wonder if the turnover would have gone Auburn's way on
- 13:51Speaker 2: the pick.
- 13:51Speaker 1: What did you think about that overturn?
- 13:53Speaker 2: I didn't think they would overturn it.
- 13:55Speaker 1: I didn't either. I watched it, and I'm like, I
- 13:57Speaker 1: think it's an interception, but you can't think it's an interception.
- 14:02Speaker 1: It's got to be 100%.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Well, and you saw two plays later, they do the
- 14:06Speaker 2: trickery on the fourth down.
- 14:08Speaker 1: That was a great play call.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It was a great play call, but the ball's on
- 14:11Speaker 2: Kiffin to do that, because if you don't get that, like...
- 14:14Speaker 2: Whether it was a pick, because they end up going
- 14:16Speaker 2: down and getting seven there, whether it was a pick
- 14:18Speaker 2: and Auburn's got the ball there or they don't get
- 14:20Speaker 2: it with a short field, I don't think Auburn was
- 14:22Speaker 2: ever going to win this game by any means. LSU
- 14:25Speaker 2: just completely outmatched them. But you do wonder that minute
- 14:28Speaker 2: of momentum early in the first half if it would
- 14:31Speaker 2: have swung things a different way. The thing we talked
- 14:33Speaker 2: about all week long, The concerning thing for Auburn was
- 14:37Speaker 2: LSU's ability to get to the quarterback and Auburn's inability
- 14:39Speaker 2: to protect Byron Brown. And Blake Baker just said, look,
- 14:43Speaker 2: we're going to put a spy. We're going to make,
- 14:46Speaker 2: you know, we're going to blitz and spy. We're going
- 14:48Speaker 2: to make Byron Brown beat us. And he was unable
- 14:50Speaker 2: to do it.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Yeah, 19 carries, 21 yards. and a lot of that
- 14:55Speaker 1: was sack yardage because that negated, you know, he had
- 14:58Speaker 1: a 34-yard run, so a lot of the sack yardage
- 15:00Speaker 1: negated that, but you saw it early. That first possession
- 15:03Speaker 1: for Auburn, I think there were two or three Byron
- 15:04Speaker 1: Brown runs in that three and out, and LSU was like,
- 15:08Speaker 1: we ain't doing that today.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Nope.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You may beat us, but you're going to have to
- 15:12Speaker 1: beat us a different way than what.
- 15:13Speaker 2: You did in Athens. Yeah, I thought the Blake Baker
- 15:16Speaker 2: game plan was tremendous because I don't think there was
- 15:19Speaker 2: any way that Auburn was going to be able to
- 15:21Speaker 2: manufacture points and On the other side, Sam Lovett, like,
- 15:25Speaker 2: are we going to get, like, great Sam and then
- 15:27Speaker 2: bad Sam? Because we got great Sam on Saturday.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Yeah, but even in that, you know, the interception was overturned,
- 15:34Speaker 1: just a horrific decision by him.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was really the only bad decision he
- 15:37Speaker 2: made all day. And that was a terrible decision.
- 15:39Speaker 1: It was a terrible decision. You're rolling right, the yardage
- 15:41Speaker 1: you can get, go out of bounds. Instead, he tries
- 15:43Speaker 1: to force one in, makes a terrible throw on the run,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and it either was or was not intercepted. I don't
- 15:49Speaker 1: know which side you fall on there. I do want
- 15:52Speaker 1: to address this before we hear from Lane Kiffin and
- 15:54Speaker 1: Alex Golish. I do want to address this because I
- 15:57Speaker 1: had somebody say this on social media, and I think
- 16:00Speaker 1: it's in relation to something Klatt said on our show
- 16:03Speaker 1: last week. Klatt on our show was like, I've got
- 16:05Speaker 1: to be very careful how I talk about plays that
- 16:07Speaker 1: are being reviewed because I know people are listening to that, right?
- 16:10Speaker 1: And they're listening in the review center. And I saw
- 16:13Speaker 1: someone say, I think Greg McElroy influenced that decision because
- 16:18Speaker 1: Greg was the one saying the interception should have stood.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Rules guy, I think it was Matt Austin, did not.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Sean McDonough, I think, thought it should have. And people
- 16:29Speaker 1: are like, you know, Greg McIlroy totally influenced that decision.
- 16:31Speaker 1: I have been told that the SEC has no volume.
- 16:35Speaker 1: that initially in the replay center they had volume up
- 16:37Speaker 1: on the games, and they're like, no, we don't want
- 16:38Speaker 1: to do that.
- 16:39Speaker 2: They shouldn't do that.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they've got no volume in the SEC
- 16:41Speaker 1: replay center.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you've got to be objective, and you cannot have
- 16:43Speaker 2: any kind of variable that could affect any of that. So, yeah,
- 16:46Speaker 2: that's the way to do that.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And I've been told that's the way it is in
- 16:48Speaker 1: the SEC review center, no volume up on any games.
- 16:52Speaker 1: They don't hear anything.
- 16:52Speaker 2: So Greg's getting blamed not only for Alabama stuff, but
- 16:55Speaker 2: Auburn stuff now.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Greg cannot win when he's doing a Bama game or
- 16:58Speaker 1: an Auburn game. You should have learned that by now.
- 17:01Speaker 1: All right, let's go to cut five. Let's start with
- 17:04Speaker 1: Alex Golish, Tyler. Here's cut five from the Auburn coach.
- 17:08Speaker 1: And I've heard this from a lot of Auburn fans.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Like you said, your Auburn fan said, it was hard
- 17:13Speaker 1: to find a positive in this one. You try to
- 17:14Speaker 1: find positives in losses, but coming off the Georgia game,
- 17:18Speaker 1: almost impossible to find a positive in this one. And
- 17:20Speaker 1: that's exactly what the head coach says.
- 17:23Speaker 3: That was a really, really, really bad performance on both sides.
- 17:31Speaker 3: There's no silver lining. There's no anything. That was bad
- 17:36Speaker 3: in every imaginable way. Inability to run the ball. Inability
- 17:40Speaker 3: to convert on third downs. And then flip it. The
- 17:45Speaker 3: ability to stop. Certainly the run. You've got to tackle
- 17:49Speaker 3: better to stop the explosives. combination of all of it
- 17:56Speaker 3: so really really poor performance um obviously did not have
- 18:01Speaker 3: him ready to rock um really disappointing sure i'll i'll
- 18:08Speaker 3: find a way to make sure that we respond because
- 18:11Speaker 3: it's the only option we got i do believe that
- 18:14Speaker 3: we got a bunch of dudes in there that'll fight
- 18:16Speaker 3: that'll figure it out we've had the highs of highs
- 18:19Speaker 3: so far and that would be the low of lows.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Man I mean, you can't find two. I mean, last
- 18:26Speaker 1: week in his news conference, he was on the verge
- 18:28Speaker 1: of tears, and it felt like he was again for
- 18:30Speaker 1: two totally different reasons.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Well, I noticed Scott does not have an Auburn hoodie
- 18:33Speaker 2: on today. Scott, are you off? I don't know if
- 18:35Speaker 2: he's backed off that bandwagon. I think he probably has.
- 18:39Speaker 7: That was embarrassing.
- 18:40Speaker 8: It was.
- 18:40Speaker 7: That was just embarrassing.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Did you think they were going to win, though, Scott? No.
- 18:44Speaker 1: You didn't think they were going to win, but you
- 18:45Speaker 1: thought maybe you would get a little carryover from Athens?
- 18:48Speaker 7: I mean, you know, I took it as an upset.
- 18:50Speaker 8: Alert pick but you know that was that was kind
- 18:52Speaker 8: of wishful thinking yeah um.
- 18:53Speaker 2: And for purposes of the graphic too well look and
- 18:56Speaker 2: and they're about to be four and four because now
- 18:58Speaker 2: you go to Oxford and you're a two touchdown underdog
- 19:01Speaker 2: and I know before Auburn fans say well look in
- 19:03Speaker 2: Athens you guys said there was no chance um you
- 19:06Speaker 2: can't keep doing this you can't beat an elite team
- 19:09Speaker 2: and then get completely run out at home and then
- 19:11Speaker 2: go back on the road and beat what is a
- 19:13Speaker 2: borderline really, really, really good Ole Miss team. Now, the
- 19:16Speaker 2: good news is after Ole Miss, you get a massive
- 19:19Speaker 2: break for maybe three weeks because Kamario Taylor, I don't–
- 19:22Speaker 2: they tried to force him in there. That didn't last long.
- 19:24Speaker 2: I know we'll get to that game in a little bit.
- 19:26Speaker 1: It came back a little too early.
- 19:27Speaker 2: I would think that there's a chance that Kamario, they
- 19:30Speaker 2: might have to shut him down for the year.
- 19:31Speaker 1: But 4-4, Scott, 7-5 still alive if you're 4-4, right?
- 19:35Speaker 1: I mean– I know when you beat Georgia, you expected
- 19:38Speaker 1: more out of Auburn than this, but if you can
- 19:40Speaker 1: get to the end of season at 7-5, you'd look
- 19:42Speaker 1: back on this Saturday and say, that sucked, but you'll
- 19:44Speaker 1: kind of forget it?
- 19:46Speaker 7: Where I am is I have.
- 19:50Speaker 8: Have come to terms with the fact that all that's
- 19:53Speaker 8: going to come of this season is the win over Georgia.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it was pretty good. But you get the win
- 19:58Speaker 2: over Georgia. Again, I know that this is not a
- 20:02Speaker 2: moral situation as far as moral victories and moral seasons,
- 20:06Speaker 2: but you go 6-6, you get back to a bowl game,
- 20:09Speaker 2: and you do have that Georgia win. I think that
- 20:11Speaker 2: is something because this should be the least talented Alex
- 20:15Speaker 2: Golish team that he should ever have.
- 20:17Speaker 7: I hope it's the worst offensive line it will ever have.
- 20:20Speaker 1: It can't get worse, Scott.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Of course, we said that about Oklahoma.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. That offensive line, I don't know if
- 20:26Speaker 1: it can get worse.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Coming out of that game, too, Jackson Harris, number four
- 20:30Speaker 2: for LSU, was really, really good. But that was next level,
- 20:34Speaker 2: what he was doing Saturday.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I know, it's crazy. Well, let's hear from Lane Kiffin.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Ask point blank, and I think most would say that's
- 20:40Speaker 1: the best LSU has looked this year. Maybe against Clemson,
- 20:44Speaker 1: but Saturday was awful good. Lane Kiffin, ask that after
- 20:46Speaker 1: the game.
- 20:48Speaker 7: Top to bottom, is it the best game.
- 20:49Speaker 9: You've played this year, do you think?
- 20:51Speaker 1: I mean, I know you just finished.
- 20:52Speaker 10: It, but... We've actually... We've played really good games this year.
- 20:57Speaker 10: I mean, the opening game, that's about as good as
- 20:59Speaker 10: you can play, 51-10. And last week they didn't score
- 21:03Speaker 10: against us. So we've played really well in five games,
- 21:06Speaker 10: really had five games where our backups are in at
- 21:09Speaker 10: the end of the game, including three SEC games. That's
- 21:11Speaker 10: very abnormal. And then, you know, we didn't play as
- 21:15Speaker 10: well in the other two games.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I think at their best, I think they're the best
- 21:20Speaker 2: team in the SEC. And I know this seems knee-jerk,
- 21:22Speaker 2: but I said this last week. Their two losses, they
- 21:25Speaker 2: were down 17 in that emotional game in Oxford. They
- 21:28Speaker 2: came back, had ball in hand to either tie or
- 21:32Speaker 2: win that game. And then the Kentucky, I don't understand
- 21:36Speaker 2: what's going on with Kentucky, but it's pretty incredible under
- 21:40Speaker 2: Will Stein. And that was a road one-point loss. So
- 21:43Speaker 2: this LSU team, at their best right now, I mean,
- 21:47Speaker 2: Georgia does not have a trade as green. Georgia does
- 21:50Speaker 2: not have a Jackson Harris.
- 21:51Speaker 9: No.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But you know college football this year. As soon as
- 21:54Speaker 1: you start thinking that about a team, they lose.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Scott, I don't know if you can pull LSU's schedule.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Well, they've got a bye this week, of course, because
- 22:01Speaker 1: it's pre-Alabama.
- 22:02Speaker 2: That was quick.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, of course Scott can. I mean, but Lance, you've
- 22:05Speaker 1: got to beat Alabama and Texas back-to-back weeks. Now the
- 22:07Speaker 1: good news is you get them both in Baton Rouge.
- 22:09Speaker 2: And then you've still got to go to Tennessee.
- 22:10Speaker 1: And you've got to go to Tennessee.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I can't tell you how hard I was pulling for Auburn.
- 22:14Speaker 2: I had no skin in the game because it was
- 22:16Speaker 2: an 11 o'clock game. I did lean LSU in that game,
- 22:20Speaker 2: but I did not play it. But I was pulling
- 22:22Speaker 2: so hard for Auburn. And look, I didn't get to
- 22:23Speaker 2: pull long because that game was almost immediately over. But
- 22:27Speaker 2: I want to see Lane absorb that third and fourth loss.
- 22:30Speaker 2: But I don't know if it's going to happen. Like,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I think right now they're going to be a healthy
- 22:33Speaker 2: favorite over– no, not healthy. I think they're a three-and-a-half
- 22:36Speaker 2: point favorite over Bama.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Okay. And then over Texas?
- 22:38Speaker 2: That's where I would put it. Over Texas, depending on
- 22:41Speaker 2: how that plays out. I mean, that's why, like, these
- 22:43Speaker 2: numbers are kind of hard to predict because week in,
- 22:46Speaker 2: week out, like, it just really depends on what you
- 22:49Speaker 2: look like the week before. But right now I would
- 22:51Speaker 2: say they're probably four-and-a-half over Texas.
- 22:54Speaker 9: Okay.
- 22:55Speaker 2: At Tennessee, they're probably a 2.5 to 3.5 point favorite.
- 23:02Speaker 2: That is a tough road right there.
- 23:03Speaker 1: You've got to win all three of those.
- 23:06Speaker 2: But can they absorb a third loss?
- 23:07Speaker 1: I don't know. Who's their best win if they do?
- 23:09Speaker 11: I mean, the A & M.
- 23:13Speaker 2: And the Mississippi State wins do nothing for you.
- 23:15Speaker 1: They don't do any. I mean, Kentucky right now is
- 23:17Speaker 1: their best win.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I mean, that was a loss.
- 23:19Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Kentucky's their best loss.
- 23:20Speaker 2: But you would have to win two of those three.
- 23:22Speaker 2: And so if Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee, I mean, they're
- 23:24Speaker 2: all right now top 20 teams so if you were
- 23:27Speaker 2: to win two of those three then you do have
- 23:29Speaker 2: a couple of ranked wins there i don't know again
- 23:31Speaker 2: we've got to find 12 teams to put in.
- 23:32Speaker 1: The same we do we do all right more uh

- 26:08Speaker 1: in pursuit of a more perfect mortgage. All right, where
- 26:10Speaker 1: are we going next?
- 26:11Speaker 2: Let's go to Columbia, South Carolina. This was, going into
- 26:15Speaker 2: the weekend, my favorite game on the board. Now, look,
- 26:18Speaker 2: when they went up 14, I was like, here we go.
- 26:20Speaker 2: And then they completely fall apart, and the Vols get
- 26:23Speaker 2: up 24-17. To me, the key play was fourth and
- 26:27Speaker 2: one at the South Carolina 39 with 335 left. They
- 26:30Speaker 2: were able to get that stop. They come down. They
- 26:32Speaker 2: get the touchdown. That crowd was amazing for a team
- 26:35Speaker 2: that going into that game was 3-3.
- 26:37Speaker 1: It's crazy that they continue to show up and continue
- 26:40Speaker 1: to make the noise.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Good for Shane Beamer. I've always been kind of on
- 26:45Speaker 2: the fence, middle of the road about Shane Beamer. He's
- 26:48Speaker 2: not a guy I dislike. I don't know how good
- 26:50Speaker 2: of a coach he really is. But I think the
- 26:53Speaker 2: pivotal moment was when they went into the swamp and
- 26:55Speaker 2: they could have completely fallen apart after blowing the 17-point
- 26:58Speaker 2: lead to Kentucky. And they played so well in Gainesville
- 27:02Speaker 2: against Florida. And, like, that is carried over here. And,
- 27:05Speaker 2: you know, you go from thinking Tennessee's got, you know,
- 27:07Speaker 2: this incredible defense, which, you know, it is really, really good.
- 27:10Speaker 2: But Lenora Sellers has reverted back to his 2024 year.
- 27:13Speaker 2: What we saw on the back half of that season.
- 27:16Speaker 2: This kid, and I know he's still, you know, he's
- 27:18Speaker 2: got to protect the football a little bit better. And
- 27:20Speaker 2: he's got to refine the downfield passing. But, man, his
- 27:24Speaker 2: just raw skill set. his ability to run that football
- 27:27Speaker 2: against that Tennessee defense, I was very impressed with South
- 27:30Speaker 2: Carolina on Saturday.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Now, there are a number of Tennessee fans, some of
- 27:34Speaker 1: whom work with us at Sporting State, who either have
- 27:38Speaker 1: insinuated or out and out said that the referees cost
- 27:43Speaker 1: them the game, that there was some sort of conspiratorial
- 27:48Speaker 1: impact on this game. For those that don't know who
- 27:51Speaker 1: officiated the game, It was lead official in the SEC,
- 27:54Speaker 1: and he's been doing the white hat for a long time,
- 27:56Speaker 1: a guy named David Smith. David just so happened to
- 27:59Speaker 1: play football at the University of Alabama. He was a
- 28:01Speaker 1: starting quarterback at Alabama and played football at Alabama. There
- 28:04Speaker 1: are those that are showing Tennessee's record when David Smith
- 28:07Speaker 1: officiates the games and their record against the spread when
- 28:10Speaker 1: David Smith officiates the games, and neither of them are good.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I will grant you that. You watched the game. There
- 28:17Speaker 1: were three touchdowns called back by penalty, which rarely happens.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Two of them, alignment penalties where it was an illegal
- 28:23Speaker 1: man downfield. I thought replay showed both of those were clear.
- 28:26Speaker 1: The third one was a hold. Holds a subjective call.
- 28:30Speaker 1: I watched it. I was like, I don't have a
- 28:31Speaker 1: problem with a hold being called there. If you didn't
- 28:33Speaker 1: throw the flag, probably wouldn't have had a problem with
- 28:34Speaker 1: it either.
- 28:35Speaker 2: It never jumped to me. I never knew this conspiracy
- 28:37Speaker 2: about David Smith. I mean, look, it was 12 penalties
- 28:41Speaker 2: on one side for Tennessee, nine penalties for South Carolina.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Wasn't that big of a discrepancy watching the game and
- 28:47Speaker 2: how it unfolded and played out? I really, I didn't
- 28:51Speaker 2: see anything egregious at all.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Volfan2053 in the chat says, we got David Smithed. I've
- 28:56Speaker 1: never seen that many TDs get called back. I haven't either.
- 28:58Speaker 1: I don't know if I've ever seen three on one team.
- 29:00Speaker 1: But when they get called back and they go to
- 29:02Speaker 1: replay and they're like, your slot receiver is on the
- 29:04Speaker 1: line and he's covered up because he's on the line.
- 29:06Speaker 1: I mean, they've got to call that. That is an
- 29:09Speaker 1: illegal receiver. I mean, I don't know what else. I
- 29:12Speaker 1: get the hold. You can sit there and argue about
- 29:14Speaker 1: the hold all you want. That's a subjective call. But
- 29:18Speaker 1: it's not subjective when a guy is improperly lined up
- 29:20Speaker 1: that makes him an ineligible receiver.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Okay, here's what Tennessee needs to worry about, in my opinion,
- 29:25Speaker 2: because now you've got this magical situation with Kentucky going on.
- 29:29Speaker 2: And then you go to A & M, and by then,
- 29:31Speaker 2: who knows where this A & M team is going
- 29:32Speaker 2: to be. But still, on the road, if they're playing
- 29:35Speaker 2: a full 60, that's a difficult test for this Tennessee offense.
- 29:39Speaker 2: You've got LSU. and at Vanderbilt. Deshaun Bishop right now,
- 29:42Speaker 2: this is Derrick Henry-like. He had 32 carries, 120. He now,
- 29:48Speaker 2: if you go back to last month, 34 carries against Auburn,
- 29:51Speaker 2: 19 against Arkansas, 32 against Alabama, 32 against South Carolina.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Over the last month, he's averaging 30 carries per game.
- 29:59Speaker 2: That is wild. When do you see that in college football?
- 30:02Speaker 1: You don't. Not anymore. Like you said, Derrick Henry level,
- 30:05Speaker 1: back when Lane Kiffin was calling Alabama's plays in 2015,
- 30:09Speaker 1: and Derrick Henry had, I think, 395 carries that year
- 30:12Speaker 1: in a 15-game schedule. You will... Um, you, you gave
- 30:17Speaker 1: me the, I'm hearing that. Thank you. You gave me the, uh,
- 30:23Speaker 1: rushing totals for Deshaun Bishop. And how many carries did
- 30:28Speaker 1: he have?
- 30:28Speaker 2: He had 32.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You'd like to have seen it 33, that fourth down
- 30:32Speaker 1: play call. I don't, I don't know what you're doing there.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I mean, like, what are you doing? You got to shop.
- 30:35Speaker 2: He is your go-to. He is one of the biggest
- 30:38Speaker 2: rocks in all of college football.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Didn't make any sense. And again, that was the pivotal
- 30:43Speaker 2: turning point.
- 30:44Speaker 1: You win the game. If you pick up that, and
- 30:45Speaker 1: I was fine with Hypo going for it. I thought
- 30:47Speaker 1: that was the call. Oh, I pick it up. The
- 30:49Speaker 1: game's over.
- 30:50Speaker 2: I loved him going for it because, you know, at
- 30:52Speaker 2: that point, you know, the momentum completely flipped and South
- 30:56Speaker 2: Carolina is able to come get that touchdown and, That
- 30:58Speaker 2: was not an easy cover by any means. South Carolina
- 31:01Speaker 2: minus two and a half, but they got home.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Yeah, just sweat that one.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, really did.
- 31:04Speaker 1: The Lenora Sellers carry was crazy there at the end
- 31:07Speaker 1: where he just fall through, fall through.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Oh, I, I, I, yeah, I, I didn't know. I mean,
- 31:12Speaker 2: he definitely got in though.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Oh, he got in. Now there are some, again, you
- 31:16Speaker 1: go back to replay and some people are, are saying his,
- 31:19Speaker 1: his wrist touchdown before the ball crossed. I mean, look,
- 31:23Speaker 1: it got replayed. They let it get in. Um, It
- 31:27Speaker 1: was just an amazing second effort. Now, we're about to
- 31:29Speaker 1: play Shane Beamer. Some may need a history lesson here
- 31:33Speaker 1: on why Shane Beamer is saying what he's saying. Scott
- 31:36Speaker 1: watches a lot, a lot of coaches after games. I
- 31:40Speaker 1: thought this was kind of weird, Scott. I mean, you
- 31:42Speaker 1: pulled it out for a reason. But, I mean, we
- 31:45Speaker 1: are in 2026, and he's about to reference a game
- 31:48Speaker 1: that is four years old. When you saw this, were
- 31:49Speaker 1: you like, wow, I did not expect Shane Beamer to
- 31:52Speaker 1: go down this path?
- 31:53Speaker 8: I just found it weird. It's in his opening statement.
- 31:56Speaker 8: Nobody asked him about this. It's just, he took it there.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Okay, so for those that don't remember, 2022, Tennessee's a
- 32:04Speaker 1: college football playoff team. They go to South Carolina. They
- 32:06Speaker 1: get run out of the stadium. And then there was this, again,
- 32:10Speaker 1: conspiracy theory that Connor Stallions, if I remember the theory right,
- 32:15Speaker 1: Connor Stallions had shared Tennessee information with South Carolina to
- 32:20Speaker 1: protect Michigan, just to continue to knock teams out of
- 32:24Speaker 1: the playoffs.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Because that's when it was Spencer Radler completely lit up.
- 32:31Speaker 1: It was a weird game. There's no doubt it was
- 32:33Speaker 1: a weird game. But there had been this conspiracy that
- 32:36Speaker 1: Connor Stallions, as he was gathering information on Michigan's opponents,
- 32:42Speaker 1: had information on Tennessee. He shared it with South Carolina
- 32:44Speaker 1: so that South Carolina had an advantage. And it would
- 32:47Speaker 1: clear Tennessee out of the path in case Michigan lost
- 32:49Speaker 1: a game. Shane Beamer still has that on his mind.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Four years later, here's what he said, as Scott said,
- 32:58Speaker 1: not even ask about it, in his opening statement after
- 33:00Speaker 1: the game.
- 33:02Speaker 4: All the bull crap conspiracy theories from the last four years,
- 33:05Speaker 4: hopefully we can put that crap to bed now. Because
- 33:08Speaker 4: I don't even want to give credence to it and
- 33:10Speaker 4: give oxygen to it because it's so ridiculous. But it's disrespectful,
- 33:14Speaker 4: all these conspiracy theories about the 2022 game It's disrespectful
- 33:18Speaker 4: to our fans that were in this stadium that night.
- 33:21Speaker 4: It's disrespectful to our players and coaches that scored 63
- 33:24Speaker 4: points against them that night and held them to 38.
- 33:26Speaker 4: So I don't know what conspiracy theories they're going to
- 33:29Speaker 4: come up with this year. Maybe it's the lights from
- 33:31Speaker 4: the state fair or something affected their ability to play.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 33:35Speaker 4: But we won the football game in 2022 because we
- 33:37Speaker 4: were the better team. So I hope we can put
- 33:39Speaker 4: that crap to bed. And we won the game tonight
- 33:42Speaker 4: because we were the better football team.
- 33:43Speaker 1: So hopefully that can be our stories.
- 33:45Speaker 4: And again, I got a lot of respect for Tennessee.
- 33:47Speaker 4: I got a master's degree from Tennessee. And I got
- 33:49Speaker 4: a lot of great friends in Knoxville, a lot of
- 33:52Speaker 4: great friends on that staff. But that's embarrassing, all this
- 33:55Speaker 4: credence that we're still talking about this stuff.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Four years later.
- 34:00Speaker 4: So hopefully we're not talking about that anymore after tonight.
- 34:03Speaker 1: I don't think anybody was talking about it.
- 34:04Speaker 2: I don't think anybody was. I didn't even reference to
- 34:07Speaker 2: that game. Maybe I did hear a reference or two
- 34:10Speaker 2: to the game, but not the Connor Stallion's angle on it.
- 34:14Speaker 2: South Carolina has become that team to me that you
- 34:17Speaker 2: don't want to play right now.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Now I've got to look at their schedule and see
- 34:21Speaker 1: if they got left.
- 34:22Speaker 2: They have got... Really, it's just one that really would matter.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I mean, these teams in Oklahoma, A & M, Arkansas,
- 34:30Speaker 2: Clemson are already dead and gone.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Oh, but I see who they're playing.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but they're hosting Georgia.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Tough game for Georgia?
- 34:37Speaker 2: I do think it's a tough game.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Well, I mean, a weird stretch for Georgia because they
- 34:43Speaker 1: are at all... Georgia's got a sneaky, tough schedule left. Sneaky,
- 34:47Speaker 1: tough schedule for Georgia left. Let's do South Carolina first,
- 34:50Speaker 1: and then we'll... flip over the Georgia schedule had a
- 34:53Speaker 1: bye this week while we talk about this but as
- 34:55Speaker 1: you look at South Carolina they can't make the playoffs
- 34:57Speaker 1: Lance they're out of consideration on that Shane Beamer's probably
- 35:00Speaker 1: saved his job right now but he's actually got the
- 35:03Speaker 1: chance to land the plane okay here I mean.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah but what would be considered the successful season like
- 35:09Speaker 2: I think right now they beat I mean you know
- 35:11Speaker 2: Oklahoma's a four and a half point favorite they're not
- 35:13Speaker 2: a large favorite there so that's definitely a winnable game
- 35:16Speaker 2: but let's just give them a loss there and let's
- 35:17Speaker 2: say that They're favorite against A & M. They win
- 35:19Speaker 2: that game. They're favorite against Arkansas. They win that game.
- 35:21Speaker 2: They're definitely going to be favorite at Clemson. So, you know,
- 35:24Speaker 2: three more wins. If they went seven and five, like.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Especially where you were.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:29Speaker 1: When you were two and three after the loss at
- 35:31Speaker 1: Kentucky in overtime. I lost two Kentucky in overtime. You
- 35:34Speaker 1: were 2-3 ready to fire the guy. You finished 7-5.
- 35:36Speaker 1: It's a pretty good finish.
- 35:37Speaker 2: You know what's crazy? If they don't blow a 16-point
- 35:40Speaker 2: lead against State and a 17-point lead against Kentucky... I know.
- 35:42Speaker 1: They're right in the middle of it.
- 35:43Speaker 2: They are sitting right there at 6-1 right now, and
- 35:46Speaker 2: they're probably... They're a top-10 team.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Now, Alabama is the one game where they were never
- 35:50Speaker 1: really in it. I mean, 49-18, Alabama ran them out
- 35:53Speaker 1: of the stadium.
- 35:54Speaker 2: But you agree South Carolina seems like the team that...
- 35:56Speaker 2: has no chance of doing anything, but it's the team
- 35:59Speaker 2: you don't want to play right now.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Well, and Georgia has to play them Saturday, November 21.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And really, to your point, that's the only team they
- 36:05Speaker 1: play that they can impact. Oklahoma's out of this thing.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Texas A & M' s out of this thing. Arkansas was
- 36:10Speaker 1: never in this thing. And Clemson is a complete dumpster fire.
- 36:13Speaker 1: They're out of this thing. So Georgia's the only team
- 36:15Speaker 1: that they could punish. While we're there, real quick, and
- 36:19Speaker 1: we'll go to Josh Heifel after this, Tyler. While we're there, Scott,
- 36:21Speaker 1: can you throw up the Georgia schedule? Because all of
- 36:23Speaker 1: a sudden, the way South Carolina's playing, look at this
- 36:25Speaker 1: finish for Georgia. They've got Florida and Atlanta. Ten and
- 36:29Speaker 1: a half point favorite there. For the cocktail party. Loseable game.
- 36:31Speaker 2: It is a loseable game.
- 36:32Speaker 1: I would think Georgia wins that, but loseable game. They
- 36:36Speaker 1: go to Ole Miss. Ole Miss will be an underdog
- 36:39Speaker 1: of how many points in that game?
- 36:40Speaker 2: I would say right now, Georgia's probably a two and
- 36:43Speaker 2: a half to three and a half point favorite.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Tight, tight. You're at Missouri. Or no, you host Missouri.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry, you host Missouri. You're a favorite there. Now,
- 36:50Speaker 1: you just said they're at South Carolina.
- 36:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I think right now Georgia's probably a seven and
- 36:54Speaker 2: a half point favorite.
- 36:55Speaker 1: At South Carolina?
- 36:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 36:56Speaker 1: And they ought to blitz Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech's no good.
- 36:58Speaker 1: But this four game stretch for Georgia.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I just, I mean, there's maybe one loss in there.
- 37:05Speaker 1: But still, that makes you a two-loss team.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah, they go from what I believe was going to
- 37:09Speaker 2: be an undefeated season, regular season for Georgia, to now
- 37:12Speaker 2: maybe a two-loss team. But yeah, I agree with you.
- 37:14Speaker 2: It has gotten trickier.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Interesting finish for the Georgia Bulldogs. Penalties, the story for
- 37:21Speaker 1: the Tennessee Volunteers. They had three touchdowns callback, three touchdowns
- 37:25Speaker 1: callback for Tennessee. Penalties, the story there. So Josh Heupel
- 37:29Speaker 1: asked about that, a frustrated Josh Heupel, After the game,
- 37:32Speaker 1: here's what the Tennessee coach said.
- 37:34Speaker 2: Give credit.
- 37:36Speaker 12: South Carolina made plays down the stretch that put them
- 37:40Speaker 12: in position to win the football game. For us, the
- 37:45Speaker 12: guys competed hard. We didn't play smart enough offensively. Penalties
- 37:51Speaker 12: just crushed us. You let a good football team hang
- 37:56Speaker 12: around on the road defensively. It's got a chance to
- 37:59Speaker 12: bite you, and it sure did at the end.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Again, man, coming off that emotional win over Alabama, a
- 38:05Speaker 1: dominant win over Alabama, really, and then to lose that
- 38:09Speaker 1: game in that fashion. Felt like they were the better team,
- 38:12Speaker 1: but you just can't commit that many penalties at key times.
- 38:15Speaker 2: If you had Trinidad Chambliss or Keelan Russell or a
- 38:21Speaker 2: healthy Camario Taylor, how good would this Tennessee team be?
- 38:25Speaker 2: I mean, if you could give them a quarterback, they'd
- 38:27Speaker 2: be really good because their defense is fantastic. Really good.
- 38:29Speaker 2: And they run the football like crazy. And what they
- 38:32Speaker 2: could do off play action with a really quality quarterback
- 38:36Speaker 2: off of Deshaun Bishop. They could eat people up. I
- 38:39Speaker 2: do think that this Tennessee team probably, how should I
- 38:47Speaker 2: say this? I think they're good. but a fugazi as
- 38:50Speaker 2: far as being a college football playoff team.
- 38:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think they can land the plane and
- 38:53Speaker 1: get in the playoffs, especially with that loss Saturday. They've
- 38:56Speaker 1: still got some difficult games remaining. We mentioned it earlier
- 38:59Speaker 1: with LSU playing them. If you get past that one Saturday,
- 39:02Speaker 1: you've got a shot, but not with that loss Saturday.
- 39:05Speaker 1: It probably knocked them, even though they're still a two-loss team,
- 39:08Speaker 1: I think realistically knocked them out of the playoffs. All right,
- 39:11Speaker 1: we'll pick another game when we return. Hardrock.bet backslash clay.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Hardrock.bet backslash clay. That's how you get to Hardrock Bets.
- 39:18Speaker 1: That's who's bringing you the next round on Sporting State.
- 39:22Speaker 1: More college football after this. It is the next round.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Continuing on sport and state presented by a hard rock
- 39:26Speaker 1: bet all right um hey can you scott could you
- 39:29Speaker 1: throw up the steel frame i mean it's where these
- 39:32Speaker 1: things are edited but boy that is that that look
- 39:36Speaker 1: right there was probably josh heupel's feelings about the way
- 39:38Speaker 1: that game played out yeah yeah coach could you give
- 39:41Speaker 1: us a face that represents how your team played or
- 39:44Speaker 1: the officiating or how many penalties you had that would
- 39:46Speaker 1: have been his look yeah We all have bad looks
- 39:50Speaker 1: at times. All right, before I pick a game, let's
- 39:53Speaker 1: talk about our friends at Clay Travis Law.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, accidents do not wait for a good time. One
- 39:58Speaker 2: bad moment, a wreck, a fall, a doctor who wasn't
- 40:00Speaker 2: paying attention, and suddenly you're fighting an insurance company that
- 40:03Speaker 2: does this every single day. That's why Clay started Clay
- 40:05Speaker 2: Travis Law. Built a firm around one idea. People deserve
- 40:08Speaker 2: someone willing to pay attention, ask those hard questions, and
- 40:12Speaker 2: push back when things don't add up. Experienced trial attorneys
- 40:15Speaker 2: who bring the fight to corporations and insurers based in Nashville,
- 40:18Speaker 2: trusted across the country. Car wrecks, truck wrecks, ride share accidents,
- 40:22Speaker 2: medical malpractice, premises liability, product liability. If you were wrong,
- 40:25Speaker 2: they want to hear about it. Case evaluation is free.
- 40:28Speaker 2: No charge, no pressure, no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Go to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-4444. That's claytravislaw.com. No case
- 40:38Speaker 2: too big or too small.
- 40:39Speaker 1: All right, I want to go Alabama and Texas A &
- 40:41Speaker 1: M 30-21. Alabama beats the Aggies. And....
- 40:48Speaker 2: Star 31 to 20.
- 40:49Speaker 1: What was it? Did I get the score right? Which
- 40:52Speaker 1: one was it? 31 to 20 or 31 to 21,
- 40:53Speaker 1: 31 to 20. My apologize. I said 30 to 21,
- 40:56Speaker 1: 31 to 20. Alabama wins by 11 over the Aggies.
- 41:01Speaker 1: And I've said this already in a video today, um,
- 41:04Speaker 1: at next round live at next round live in my
- 41:06Speaker 1: drive in video. Uh, you can see it on social
- 41:09Speaker 1: media as a, as a, as a PSA. I brought
- 41:11Speaker 1: it up with Lugan bill, but I'm going to bring
- 41:12Speaker 1: it up again. And I fully understand the message I'm
- 41:15Speaker 1: about to share. as a PSA, is probably going to
- 41:19Speaker 1: go on a lot of deaf ears.
- 41:22Speaker 2: And that's fine.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Most PSAs do. I don't think people stop and listen
- 41:25Speaker 1: to PSAs. But I'm going to say it, and I
- 41:29Speaker 1: want you to hear everything I say. Did that win
- 41:32Speaker 1: look pretty? No, it did not. Were there issues in
- 41:34Speaker 1: that win that you're concerned about with Alabama football? Your
- 41:37Speaker 1: inability to run, the ability for teams to move the
- 41:41Speaker 1: ball in Alabama's defense, both those things existed in that win, yes. But, <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 42:15Speaker 1: and you win a game over a conference opponent by 11,
- 42:17Speaker 1: even if it's an ugly win that's got issues, I
- 42:21Speaker 1: think this day and age in college football, you've got
- 42:23Speaker 1: to be happy with this win. We are not in
- 42:25Speaker 1: the era of college football where Nick Saban... was able
- 42:29Speaker 1: to lose guys like that that are going to the
- 42:31Speaker 1: NFL and then replace them with NFL guys that were
- 42:34Speaker 1: just standing on the sideline waiting their turn. We don't
- 42:36Speaker 1: have that depth like that in college football anymore. This
- 42:40Speaker 1: is the NFL style now. The rosters might not be
- 42:44Speaker 1: 53-man rosters. but they operate like a 53-man roster. In
- 42:48Speaker 1: the NFL, you have that many injuries. You're bumping up
- 42:50Speaker 1: practice squad guys. They're not good enough to be on
- 42:52Speaker 1: another NFL franchise. They're on your practice squad. That's what
- 42:55Speaker 1: you're doing in college football, Lance, with that many key injuries.
- 43:00Speaker 1: It was an ugly 11-point win, but an 11-point win
- 43:03Speaker 1: is something you've got to thank God for and move on.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Well, and a lot of that was A & M' s
- 43:06Speaker 2: three turnovers, eight penalties. But the thing that would concern me,
- 43:09Speaker 2: because I said going into this game, You want to
- 43:12Speaker 2: see Alabama bounce back 35-plus points after scoring 45-plus in
- 43:16Speaker 2: the first five games, and then the offense just completely
- 43:19Speaker 2: going into a shell against, albeit, two really good defenses
- 43:21Speaker 2: in Georgia and Tennessee. But the thing I wanted to see,
- 43:24Speaker 2: Alabama's ability to run the football, because it started out really,
- 43:27Speaker 2: really good at the beginning of the year. And now
- 43:29Speaker 2: these last three weeks, they can't run the football.
- 43:32Speaker 1: They cannot. Now, some of that you've got to say, though, Lance,
- 43:34Speaker 1: is missing pieces in the offensive line. It's not all
- 43:37Speaker 1: of it, but then it's got to be some of it.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I think missing pieces in the offensive line. Obviously,
- 43:41Speaker 2: the separation for these receivers has been different since Ryke
- 43:44Speaker 2: Coleman-Williams has not been in the lineup. Big day from
- 43:46Speaker 2: Rico Scott on Saturday. But if I'm an Alabama fan,
- 43:51Speaker 2: I'm really concerned because... This team might end up 10-2.
- 43:54Speaker 2: They might end up being able to beat LSU. But
- 43:56Speaker 2: if you can't run the football, you cannot consistently, once
- 43:59Speaker 2: you get to the postseason, beat good teams.
- 44:00Speaker 1: You're right. It is.
- 44:02Speaker 2: Where's A.K.
- 44:03Speaker 13: Deer?
- 44:03Speaker 2: Do you know?
- 44:05Speaker 1: I guess he's not good enough to get in front
- 44:08Speaker 1: of Correll, who's apparently third. He's certainly not good enough
- 44:11Speaker 1: to get in front of Treshawn Brown, who's apparently two.
- 44:15Speaker 1: I mean, Corral was hurt, and you still didn't see
- 44:17Speaker 1: AK there.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the thing. I'm like, why wouldn't you give
- 44:20Speaker 2: him a chance just because he is such a home-run hitter?
- 44:22Speaker 2: But 68 yards, under 2.5 yards per carry, that's not
- 44:25Speaker 2: going to get it done. But I agree with you.
- 44:27Speaker 2: You had a double-digit win. My buddy, our buddy, Mick
- 44:31Speaker 2: Gillespie was over. He ended up doing his postgame from
- 44:33Speaker 2: my office, and he was like, are you going to
- 44:35Speaker 2: jump on there with me? I was like, absolutely not.
- 44:37Speaker 2: You have fun with that. And I said, it's going
- 44:40Speaker 2: to be– he had to travel. He was doing something,
- 44:43Speaker 2: but I told him, like, you– you're going to end
- 44:46Speaker 2: up doing a three-hour show if Alabama loses this game.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Maybe a five-hour show.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it may never end.
- 44:51Speaker 2: I said, but now that they've kind of got a
- 44:52Speaker 2: little distance and they had the 14-0 fourth quarter, it
- 44:56Speaker 2: looks a lot better on paper. And they did close
- 44:58Speaker 2: out the game they needed to. And I agree with you.
- 45:00Speaker 2: In today's world, when you're going against a really talented
- 45:04Speaker 2: A & M team, do you have a double-digit win?
- 45:05Speaker 2: That's big.
- 45:06Speaker 1: That's three times I'm giving that PSA. I promised the
- 45:08Speaker 1: staff that'll be the last time I do it. But
- 45:10Speaker 1: I just think you've got to accept an 11-point win.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Keelan Russell was back to playing. closer to what Keelan
- 45:17Speaker 1: Russell had been prior to the second half of the
- 45:20Speaker 1: Georgia game and the entire Tennessee.
- 45:21Speaker 2: I think you would take a Keelan's game every single
- 45:24Speaker 2: time out. Like, you know, with the legs, just enough,
- 45:27Speaker 2: you know, the 20 yards, but goes over 300 yards,
- 45:29Speaker 2: very efficient, 19 to 20 average over 10 yards per
- 45:32Speaker 2: attempt had the one pick, but that was, that was
- 45:35Speaker 2: kind of it.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Boy, the throw to Caleb Edwards, uh, the tight end
- 45:38Speaker 1: along the sideline of the end zone. That was a
- 45:40Speaker 1: heck of a throw right there. Beautiful throw. And those
- 45:42Speaker 1: tight ends are getting involved.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Marshall Pritchett scores as well.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Yep. Um, By the way, Marshall Pritchett not only scores,
- 45:48Speaker 1: he does the celebration that got Jusek fired. Not fired.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Fined.
- 45:54Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, where he rips it off. And Jusek's like,
- 45:57Speaker 1: my nickname's Juice, man. I was drinking juice. I wasn't
- 45:58Speaker 1: shotgunning a beer. I don't know what Marshall Pritchett was doing,
- 46:01Speaker 1: but he got fined for that. And the NFL finally
- 46:04Speaker 1: had to rescind the fine.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I am interested. Once this offensive line gets whole and
- 46:07Speaker 2: Ryan Coleman Williams comes back, what it will do to
- 46:10Speaker 2: the rushing attack.
- 46:11Speaker 9: But.
- 46:12Speaker 2: You know, that's the big thing that I would look
- 46:14Speaker 2: at moving forward for Alabama. And the fact that you
- 46:17Speaker 2: are playing LSU at the end. I know Alabama has
- 46:20Speaker 2: a ton of success in Baton Rouge. And Kayla DeBoer's
- 46:23Speaker 2: had a ton of success against LSU. But, boy, playing
- 46:26Speaker 2: in Baton Rouge right now against that team. I mean,
- 46:28Speaker 2: you could make an argument they're the best team in
- 46:30Speaker 2: the SEC.
- 46:31Speaker 1: LSU? Oh, yeah. I would agree right now. But there again,
- 46:34Speaker 1: week to week, that never matters anymore. Tyler, let's do
- 46:38Speaker 1: cut two here. So you mentioned Rico Scott. With Ryan
- 46:41Speaker 1: Coleman-Williams out, they had to find something at receiver. And
- 46:44Speaker 1: Rico Scott had an absolutely record day for Alabama. And
- 46:49Speaker 1: he's had some good play of late. I mean, I
- 46:51Speaker 1: think because a lot of people thought they knew Alabama's
- 46:54Speaker 1: number one would be Ryan Coleman-Williams. The number two would
- 46:57Speaker 1: be Lottie Brooks. It was the question who would be
- 46:59Speaker 1: the number three. A lot of people thought it was
- 47:00Speaker 1: going to be the talented freshman, Sandarian Morgan. But Rico
- 47:03Speaker 1: Scott won the job in fall and has never relinquished it.
- 47:07Speaker 1: He's played very well for Alabama, Rico Scott.
- 47:09Speaker 2: No, and you can make an argument that was his
- 47:10Speaker 2: best career game.
- 47:11Speaker 1: There's no doubt. The numbers tell you it was.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely highs and yards are in the total receiving yards.
- 47:18Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, Rico Scott, he has become a,
- 47:22Speaker 2: I guess we can call him a weapon, right?
- 47:24Speaker 1: He was Saturday. He was Saturday. All right, here is
- 47:26Speaker 1: Kalen DeBoer on Rico Scott with Ryan Coleman Williams out
- 47:30Speaker 1: of the game.
- 47:31Speaker 9: Rico Scott with over 150 yards. Just how big was
- 47:34Speaker 9: that when you have another week with no Ryan?
- 47:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it was huge.
- 47:37Speaker 14: I thought, you know, Rico came up in a big way.
- 47:40Speaker 14: I know just coming off of last week and a
- 47:43Speaker 14: couple of plays that, you know, I knew you'd like
- 47:45Speaker 14: to have had him. He's, you know, developing those expectations
- 47:48Speaker 14: for himself above and beyond. You know, Keelan has a
- 47:52Speaker 14: lot of confidence in him and, you know, him and
- 47:54Speaker 14: Lottie made some big plays for us tonight. So, you know,
- 47:58Speaker 14: those are things and moments where as we do get
- 48:00Speaker 14: guys back, we just become a stronger team. And so
- 48:05Speaker 14: there's a lot of winnable and teachable moments that are
- 48:09Speaker 14: happening today that can make us even better as a
- 48:11Speaker 14: football team through the second half of the season.
- 48:13Speaker 1: And they won't get 100% healthy in the bye week.
- 48:15Speaker 1: There's some guys that are going to be out long term.
- 48:18Speaker 1: But they're going to get healthier in the bye week,
- 48:19Speaker 1: including Ryan Coleman-Williams. I think that's the big one. He's
- 48:22Speaker 1: expected to be back for the LSU game.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Got to have all hands on deck for that game.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Boy, you do.
- 48:26Speaker 2: You do. And that's one of those games that is
- 48:29Speaker 2: going to be so pivotal. I mean, it really does
- 48:31Speaker 2: look like that's going to be the spot for a playoff.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I mean, whoever wins that game. I mean, worst case,
- 48:36Speaker 2: you're getting three losses on the other side. So I
- 48:38Speaker 2: think whoever wins that game is more than likely in
- 48:40Speaker 2: the college football playoff. And that's one of those that
- 48:43Speaker 2: we might have to take a look at going to
- 48:45Speaker 2: New Orleans.
- 48:45Speaker 1: Uh-oh.
- 48:47Speaker 2: You hate that town.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I don't like New Orleans. Hate is a very strong word.
- 48:51Speaker 1: I try to avoid using it.
- 48:53Speaker 2: That atmosphere should be incredible in two weeks.
- 48:56Speaker 1: It should be.
- 48:57Speaker 11: I don't know how you hate a place, you and
- 48:59Speaker 11: Scott both, that has that good of a food scene.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Just to be honest with you, I like Cajun and
- 49:05Speaker 1: Creole food, but I like it one meal. I think
- 49:11Speaker 1: that might be Scott's... Yeah.
- 49:12Speaker 2: Like, so if you're going for a weekend, like once
- 49:14Speaker 2: you have your fix, you're like, I can wait another
- 49:17Speaker 2: six months.
- 49:17Speaker 1: That's right. I can't eat like I can't eat. I
- 49:20Speaker 1: can't eat etouffee at one meal, and then for lunch,
- 49:22Speaker 1: let's get a po' boy, and then I'm going to
- 49:24Speaker 1: go have some jambalaya.
- 49:26Speaker 2: That's my issue. That sounds perfect to me.
- 49:28Speaker 7: My hatred of New Orleans has nothing to do with food.
- 49:31Speaker 2: I mean, is it the National Guard has to roll
- 49:34Speaker 2: out every night now?
- 49:35Speaker 7: There's that.
- 49:35Speaker 8: It smells like piss everywhere.
- 49:38Speaker 1: And vomit and weed.
- 49:41Speaker 2: All of those.
- 49:41Speaker 1: Yeah, pass. The food's the best part of it. And
- 49:46Speaker 1: that's the problem. Like, anytime I go there, I'm like, boy,
- 49:48Speaker 1: I cannot eat any more Cajun or Creole or. You know,
- 49:51Speaker 1: any of that right now.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and the crowds are a little large. The crowds
- 49:55Speaker 2: are large.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Bourbon Street is one of those things I'm like, do
- 49:59Speaker 1: it once to see it, but I don't really want
- 50:01Speaker 1: to spend a whole lot of time on Bourbon Street.
- 50:04Speaker 1: The French Quarter is cool, but once you've seen that,
- 50:06Speaker 1: you've seen it.
- 50:07Speaker 2: This is the time of year, though. Like, don't go
- 50:09Speaker 2: during the summer. I think I told you me and
- 50:11Speaker 2: Maddie went in July.
- 50:12Speaker 15: Oh, that sounds horrible.
- 50:14Speaker 2: It was terrible. Like, the first thing, you know, we
- 50:16Speaker 2: go down to the quarter she had never been before,
- 50:17Speaker 2: and so I'm like sweating so bad. Before dinner, I
- 50:20Speaker 2: had to go back and change what I was in.
- 50:23Speaker 1: That's the other thing. Anytime I've been, it's been super humid.
- 50:27Speaker 1: It could be middle of the winter and it's 100% humid.
- 50:28Speaker 2: But you need it in the 60s there. The 60s
- 50:31Speaker 2: in the fall in New Orleans, it's a pretty cool vibe,
- 50:35Speaker 2: but I know you absolutely hate it. That should be
- 50:37Speaker 2: an incredible game. Do we have a kick time yet?
- 50:41Speaker 1: I think they've still got to reserve it. It's going
- 50:43Speaker 1: to be primetime. Although that day, hang on, let me
- 50:46Speaker 1: pull this up.
- 50:46Speaker 2: There were some really, really good games that day. Yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 2: that Saturday. If you were to stick that at 11 o'clock,
- 50:52Speaker 2: it would be too much of a known at that point, right?
- 50:54Speaker 1: No chance you're going to put that at 11 o'clock.
- 50:55Speaker 2: The SEC absolutely hates LSU.
- 50:58Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. You're saying if you put that at 11 o'clock,
- 51:00Speaker 1: you know.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you think Kaitlin DeBoer would take an 11 o'clock kick?
- 51:03Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I'd love it. The games that are reserved
- 51:06Speaker 1: for nighttime, these are reserved for either a 2.30 or
- 51:08Speaker 1: a 7 o'clock kick. Or 645 or whatever. Alabama at LSU,
- 51:14Speaker 1: Georgia at Ole Miss. And sneaky, Kentucky at Tennessee. So
- 51:20Speaker 1: you could only have two of those three at night.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I personally think what they'll do, I think your ABC
- 51:26Speaker 1: all day that day opens Texas at Missouri because that's
- 51:30Speaker 1: reserved for the early window. So that's guaranteed early window.
- 51:33Speaker 1: I think they'll go Georgia at Ole Miss at 2.30,
- 51:37Speaker 1: Alabama at LSU primetime.
- 51:39Speaker 2: That's my guess on that one. I think you're dead
- 51:41Speaker 2: on with that.
- 51:41Speaker 1: Now, if the SEC really wants to make a point
- 51:44Speaker 1: here with LSU, Lance, ESPN will not have any problem
- 51:48Speaker 1: doing Georgia at Ole Miss primetime, would you think?
- 51:50Speaker 2: I would agree. I think either one of those are
- 51:52Speaker 2: big draws. I do think just with the two losses,
- 51:55Speaker 2: the Lane Kiffin element, Alabama, I think you're dead on.
- 51:59Speaker 2: I think that's going to be your primetime game.
- 52:01Speaker 1: That's a fun Saturday of football, by the way. Texas
- 52:03Speaker 1: at Missouri. You've got Texas A & M at South Carolina.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Interesting game there, even though it's not going to be
- 52:08Speaker 1: playoff implications. Alabama at LSU, Georgia at Ole Miss, Kentucky
- 52:12Speaker 1: at Tennessee, Oklahoma at Florida.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Hey, how much steam has Oregon at Ohio State lost?
- 52:19Speaker 1: Is it that same day? Yeah. Yeah, we looked at
- 52:21Speaker 1: that thinking that'd be such a tremendous day.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Yeah, and then the other one, the Holy War. Like,
- 52:25Speaker 2: we were going to have undefeated, undefeated. Now BYU's got
- 52:27Speaker 2: the one loss. But if BYU was to beat Utah.
- 52:30Speaker 1: You know they're going to do that, right?
- 52:31Speaker 2: Probably. I mean, Utah right now a three-point favorite.
- 52:34Speaker 1: Yeah. And everybody's, oh, okay, so BYU's down. Now Utah's
- 52:37Speaker 1: back being the best team in the Big 12. No, no.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Yeah, those are the only look-ahead lines, and Ohio State
- 52:41Speaker 2: is only a six-point favorite over Oregon, which makes no sense.
- 52:44Speaker 1: That's in Eugene?
- 52:45Speaker 6: No.
- 52:46Speaker 1: That's in Columbus?
- 52:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Ohio's only six.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Now, did you see Oregon this weekend against Northwestern?
- 52:51Speaker 1: I did.
- 52:52Speaker 10: Oh, no, no, no.
- 52:52Speaker 1: The points were, I thought you were going to say,
- 52:53Speaker 1: did I see them against Illinois, which I did. But no,
- 52:55Speaker 1: the point spread?
- 52:56Speaker 2: They're a two and a half point favorite at home
- 52:58Speaker 2: against Northwestern.
- 52:59Speaker 1: And Eugene, Northwestern's a two and a half point dog.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's right.
- 53:03Speaker 1: What in the world is going on here?
- 53:05Speaker 2: I mean, that is, look, I know we'll get to this.
- 53:07Speaker 2: That has got to be the most disappointing program in
- 53:10Speaker 2: college football.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Some of it understandable. They fired their offensive coordinator. So
- 53:15Speaker 1: he's obviously the scapegoat, but Lance, you're playing without Dante Moore,
- 53:18Speaker 1: an NFL quarterback. I don't know what you're supposed to
- 53:20Speaker 1: do there. And their backups have not been good. I mean,
- 53:23Speaker 1: Raiola was good in relief, and really both times in relief,
- 53:28Speaker 1: Raiola's been good. Otherwise, he hasn't been good. I mean,
- 53:31Speaker 1: I know they've got three losses, but you've played a
- 53:33Speaker 1: month without your NFL quarterback.
- 53:35Speaker 2: I get that, but still, Oregon is one of these teams,
- 53:37Speaker 2: and that's why they paid Raiola so much. I get it.
- 53:41Speaker 2: We've got some mis-evaluation on talent.
- 53:43Speaker 1: There's no doubt they missed on Raiola. He's not what
- 53:45Speaker 1: they thought he was going to be.
- 53:46Speaker 2: And Dan Lanning missed on his offensive coordinator.
- 53:49Speaker 1: He absolutely did. What game was it? I guess it
- 53:53Speaker 1: was the Oklahoma State loss where we asked Clatt about that,
- 53:55Speaker 1: and he said Dan Lanning just fell too much in
- 53:58Speaker 1: love with his current staff. And you promoted a guy
- 54:00Speaker 1: that probably was promoted above his head.
- 54:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a Peacock game. They're three and a half.
- 54:06Speaker 1: Three and a half.
- 54:06Speaker 2: That's against Northwestern. I don't... I mean, I think that's
- 54:10Speaker 2: going to be a very, very physical, low-scoring game, and
- 54:13Speaker 2: I kind of lean Northwestern.
- 54:14Speaker 1: I was about to say, would you feel good walking
- 54:16Speaker 1: to the window at Hard Rock Bet or going to
- 54:18Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet and taking Oregon?
- 54:20Speaker 2: I'm telling you, if that would have been a week
- 54:22Speaker 2: one game where neither one of these teams would have played,
- 54:25Speaker 2: Oregon would be a 27.5 point favorite.
- 54:27Speaker 1: Yeah, look how much it's changed. All right, that's one
- 54:30Speaker 1: hour in the books. We've got a ton of games
- 54:32Speaker 1: to get to and the NFL as well in the
- 54:35Speaker 1: next hour. Joel Klatt coming up on the next round
- 54:38Speaker 1: at 11.30 Central Time, 12.30 Eastern. It is the next
- 54:41Speaker 1: round on Sport and State presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 54:44Speaker 1: All right, we start our number two. Hard Rock Bet
- 54:48Speaker 1: presents the next round on Sport and State. We've got
- 54:50Speaker 1: a lot of games to get to. It is Lance's pick.
- 54:54Speaker 1: We will not delay. People are asking in the chat
- 54:56Speaker 1: why I put my finger, why I've got my finger wrapped.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I was slicing an orange at home, an orange peel,
- 55:04Speaker 1: and sliced beyond the orange and onto the top of
- 55:08Speaker 1: my finger.
- 55:08Speaker 2: I didn't know you were into finger puppets. I mean,
- 55:11Speaker 2: it's Halloween. Can we put a little ghost face on it?
- 55:13Speaker 1: Yeah, we put a little face on there. Uh, and
- 55:15Speaker 1: I could tell, I could come up with a segment
- 55:17Speaker 1: where the pinky does the talking, you know, about football
- 55:19Speaker 1: or something like that.
- 55:19Speaker 2: Let's workshop this.
- 55:20Speaker 15: I think we used to have something similar.
- 55:22Speaker 1: We did.
- 55:23Speaker 2: We did.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yes.
- 55:23Speaker 10: Yes.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Uh, uh, probably can't do that. Uh, but yeah, we
- 55:27Speaker 1: could do the pinky. You could do the talking. We'd
- 55:28Speaker 1: put a little face on there. Uh, so yeah, I
- 55:30Speaker 1: just sliced the top right off my finger there. So
- 55:33Speaker 1: we'll be wearing, we'll be wearing some bandaging. What, um,
- 55:37Speaker 1: this was Saturday night, Sunday morning. What do you think
- 55:41Speaker 1: the first thing I did was? See if you can guess.
- 55:44Speaker 2: You went into the ice. Poured a Diet Coke.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Other than that.
- 55:47Speaker 2: You went into the ice, Tredis, to see if the
- 55:49Speaker 2: ice would stick to the open wound?
- 55:50Speaker 1: No, no, I did not. Oh, that'd be weird. No,
- 55:53Speaker 1: I went downstairs and got a golf club and walked
- 55:56Speaker 1: out in the yard to see what the swing is
- 56:01Speaker 1: going to be like if I can't touch the club
- 56:02Speaker 1: with this pinky.
- 56:03Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 56:03Speaker 2: So how is it? Just perfectly fine. Okay, good. Good, good.
- 56:06Speaker 15: Well, that's the most important thing.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Exactly what my wife said. It was like, well, I'm
- 56:10Speaker 1: glad we got that.
- 56:11Speaker 2: You got a couple of days off, though, right? Until
- 56:13Speaker 2: you get today off because course is closed.
- 56:14Speaker 1: Course is closed today, so our big test will be tomorrow.
- 56:17Speaker 2: So you're going after it tomorrow.
- 56:18Speaker 1: Yeah, going after it tomorrow. In fact, some of our
- 56:20Speaker 1: friends are coming in town from Tuscaloosa, so I'm taking
- 56:23Speaker 1: them out to our friends at Inverness tomorrow. We're going
- 56:25Speaker 1: to play 18, and we'll see. I'm going to do
- 56:28Speaker 1: it with only nine fingers. So if I can beat
- 56:30Speaker 1: you with nine fingers.
- 56:31Speaker 15: Ryan, if you hit like five over tomorrow, are you
- 56:33Speaker 15: going to blame it on that, though?
- 56:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to say, I mean, obviously, if I
- 56:35Speaker 1: had been perfectly healthy, I would have shot under par.
- 56:39Speaker 2: There's no doubt about it. So can we go to Orlando,
- 56:41Speaker 2: the bounce house?
- 56:41Speaker 8: We may.
- 56:42Speaker 1: Let's go to the bounce house. As crazy a finish
- 56:45Speaker 1: to a game as you possibly can.
- 56:46Speaker 2: I had a room full of people, so I didn't
- 56:49Speaker 2: have the volume on when that whole thing was going down.
- 56:51Speaker 2: But it was so weird because, I mean, it's rule
- 56:55Speaker 2: to fumble, right? And then... Where are we?
- 56:58Speaker 1: You're at the end of regulation?
- 56:59Speaker 2: The incomplete pass and then the... You're in regulation, not
- 57:03Speaker 2: in overtime. Yeah, not in double overtime.
- 57:05Speaker 1: All right. So at the end of regulation, we've got
- 57:08Speaker 1: the field goal, right? That gets blocked. Yep. They kicked it. Well,
- 57:13Speaker 1: let's rewind. Let's go all the way back to first
- 57:15Speaker 1: down on that possession. So Scott Frost calls timeout. Quarterback
- 57:19Speaker 1: comes to the sideline. He clearly gives him two plays, right?
- 57:23Speaker 1: Quarterback gets confused. I don't know how he made this error.
- 57:26Speaker 1: But he gets confused and he clocks the ball on
- 57:29Speaker 1: a stop clock, which I've never seen anybody clock them now.
- 57:32Speaker 1: I think famously the great Kenny Stabler once clocked it
- 57:35Speaker 1: on fourth down for Alabama, threw it out of bounds
- 57:38Speaker 1: back then on fourth down to stop the clock. That's
- 57:40Speaker 1: bad enough. Clocking it on a stop clock, I don't
- 57:42Speaker 1: think I've ever seen. Then they run it and the
- 57:45Speaker 1: quarterback looks completely overwhelmed or actually throws it out of bounds.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Quarterback looks completely overwhelmed. So Frost is like, let's kick
- 57:52Speaker 1: on third down, which turns out to be a good decision.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Kicks it on third down. It is blocked by BYU.
- 57:58Speaker 1: And a kid's helmet comes off. So then we have
- 58:01Speaker 1: to go to review, which screws it up. I don't
- 58:04Speaker 1: know if you know this, but the Big 12 got
- 58:05Speaker 1: this wrong. I don't know if you've seen this.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I have not.
- 58:08Speaker 1: So what they rule on review is, ball did not
- 58:11Speaker 1: cross the line of scrimmage, so you get a fourth down.
- 58:13Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know that rule, but that's
- 58:15Speaker 1: one reason you kick on third down. If you've got
- 58:18Speaker 1: a bad snap, you can fall on it, call timeout,
- 58:21Speaker 1: and kick another on fourth. But also, if the ball
- 58:25Speaker 1: never crosses the line of scrimmage on a kick, you
- 58:29Speaker 1: get a fourth down. And the clock stops.
- 58:33Speaker 2: That's why it is so good to kick on third
- 58:35Speaker 2: down sometimes.
- 58:36Speaker 1: And the clock stops. The Big 12 replay ruled, though,
- 58:39Speaker 1: that due to the fact that the kid's helmet came off,
- 58:42Speaker 1: that's a 10-second runoff. It should not have been because
- 58:45Speaker 1: the clock stopped at the end of that third down.
- 58:47Speaker 1: So it shouldn't have been a 10-second runoff. So that's
- 58:50Speaker 1: where UCF should have had another kick right there.
- 58:54Speaker 2: So back-to-back weeks now for the Big 12, the non-call
- 58:56Speaker 2: against Notre Dame. That's right.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Back-to-back weeks, they've screwed up the clock, too. So it
- 59:00Speaker 1: goes to overtime. Now, overtime, Lance, that also was a mess.
- 59:06Speaker 1: I mean, it was just one thing after another.
- 59:08Speaker 2: I don't know how you felt. I was a little nervous.
- 59:10Speaker 2: I knew once we got into the second overtime with,
- 59:13Speaker 2: at that point, Central Florida having the ball first, my
- 59:16Speaker 2: plus 7.5 was not in jeopardy with the Knights.
- 59:19Speaker 1: Yeah, with that game, I don't think anything was given.
- 59:23Speaker 2: But I thought once it got to overtime, I did
- 59:25Speaker 2: think BYU would find a way to win that game.
- 59:27Speaker 1: I did, too. Better team normally wins in overtime, I
- 59:29Speaker 1: feel like. BYU, I think, is the better team, though.
- 59:32Speaker 1: I don't know. But it goes to overtime, and Central
- 59:35Speaker 1: Florida gets the win. Just an insane ending to a game.
- 59:39Speaker 2: Yeah, and the key on Jenkins was pretty good.
- 59:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought so, too, until the very end when
- 59:44Speaker 1: he couldn't handle regulation.
- 59:46Speaker 2: You know, this is, I mean, again, another setup in
- 59:48Speaker 2: college football. Just wait, because we've got this game coming
- 59:50Speaker 2: up Friday night. Baylor at UCF. Dave Aranda gets fired.
- 59:54Speaker 2: Central Florida coming off this big win. What do you
- 59:57Speaker 2: think the number is?
- 59:59Speaker 1: I'm going to say... Is Baylor favored?
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: No, Central Florida one and a half.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: One and a half. And everybody's going to say Central.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Wait a minute. Baylor fired their coach. They just beat BYU.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: They're only one and a half.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: They had beat Kansas 17 consecutive years until this past weekend.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Aranda gets fired. Like, this team's going nowhere.
- 1:00:15Speaker 15: That's right.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: This is probably going to be the resurgence for Baylor under,
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: you know, the interim coach.
- 1:00:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: I can see that.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Unfortunately, I can't draw the Baylor B or a Bear
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: or anything because it's only one and a half. But, boy,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I would love that one.
- 1:00:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I would, too. That'd be a popular upset alert pick.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: So BYU, contender or pretender? They've got the win over
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: Notre Dame. Now, here's the other one, Lance, is they
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: got the Holy War this week. And is it going
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: to stun you if they go in and win that game? BYU?
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: No, not at all. I mean, I think those are,
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: you know, equivalent teams.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know that Utah's any good.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yeah, you mean the Holy War in two weeks.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: In two weeks, I'm sorry, the Holy War in two weeks.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: And it's not going to stun you if they go
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: in and win that game. Not at all.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Are we back to Big 12 only getting one in?
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: You tell me because, I mean, we can combine all
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: this together. Gosh, I meant to send this to Scott. Scott,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I am going to send you– I don't suppose he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: got the– Scott, do you have the Cody Campbell tweet
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: while we talk about Texas Tech? I do not. All right,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I'm going to send it to you. I'm going to
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: send it to you. You want text or email?
- 1:01:17Speaker 7: If it's the last thing he tweeted, I can just
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: pull it.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know if it's the last thing he tweeted,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: but here's the problem when you've got big money booster,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: all right? You've got big money booster. The positive is
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I get all the money I want. I can go
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: get all the players I want. I've got all the
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: facilities I want because I've got a billionaire that is
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: funding my program. But as we've always said, when the
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: billionaire funds the program, he's used to getting a massive
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: return out of his investment. So what is he looking for?
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: He's looking for you to win games, not lose to
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the likes of Cincinnati on the road. And here's the
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: problem for.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Joey McGuire is here's Cody Campbell after the game. Here's
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: the tweet he sends. Did he delete it, Scott, by chance?
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Because I kept looking to see if he deleted it.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: I don't think billionaires are ever going to delete. There's
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: no apologies.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: There is no excuse or reason to lose a game
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: like this. We have to be better at Texas Tech football.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: That's the problem when you're dealing with billionaire funding your
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: program is he wants immediate results. And he's going to
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: be openly critical of you when you don't get them.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: They've lost one game this year.
- 1:02:25Speaker 13: One game.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: One game. And that's what he's tweeting. No excuse to
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: lose or reason to lose a game like this. We
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: have to be better. That's what Cody Campbell tweets after that.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I mean, it is a puzzling loss at Cincinnati.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: Oh, and the way that, I mean, again.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: They were never in the game.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they got gashed.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Yeah, they were never in the game. I don't know. Again,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: college football is impossible to figure out right now. I
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: ask you, I think. Two or three times last week,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: you know, I made the case for chaos. I don't
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: have the sheet anymore. I threw away my sheet from
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: last week, but I made the case for chaos. And
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: that's one of the games that I ask you and
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: you're like, yeah, there's a path to victory for Cincinnati.
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: But it's, you know, it is hard to see, honestly. Yeah.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Never in the game.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: I mean, Texas Tech was never in the game.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: And I said that for a couple of reasons because
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: I go back to the game in Tucson and how
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: just anemic that Cincinnati offense looked against that Arizona defense.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: And then finally last week, I know it was against
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: Arizona State that's not very good this year, but Texas
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Tech put 52 on them and they dominated that game.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: So I was like, OK, they're finally rounding into shape.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: So to go back to your question, are we back
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: to just one Big 12 team getting in? I think
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: the answer is obviously yes, is it not?
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: Well, I mean, it's going to come down, so if
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: you've got a couple of one losses, and I don't
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: even know if they can absorb only one loss is
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: now where we are, but like a one loss, well.
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: See, a one loss BYU is a conference champion.
- 1:03:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: So they're in.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: They're in.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: And BYU is the one that's got the win over
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: Notre Dame.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Okay, so let me throw this out. Let's say that
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: either Utah or Texas Tech, say Utah takes a loss
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: this week to BYU. And either Utah or Texas Tech.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Or next week. I've got that game in your head
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: that it's next week.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so both of those take a loss. So they've
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: both got one loss. Well, only one of those teams
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: could play BYU. I don't know how that tiebreaker works.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: But the team that has one loss that doesn't play
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: in the Big 12 championship game.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I mean, Utah.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: Texas Tech's going to have no wins.
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: No, Utah's not either.
- 1:04:16Speaker 2: Well, I mean, they've got the Houston win.
- 1:04:18Speaker 13: I mean.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: But that's not enough to get in the playoffs.
- 1:04:20Speaker 11: Well, I was going to bring it up. Andy Staples
- 1:04:23Speaker 11: has his bracketology out. I'm curious how he does it.
- 1:04:25Speaker 11: I don't know if he projects out the way, I guess,
- 1:04:27Speaker 11: that Lenardi does.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: Or he does it the way it is right now.
- 1:04:30Speaker 11: Yeah, because he has both BYU and Utah in his bracketology.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: I can't see it. I just can't see it.
- 1:04:35Speaker 15: What's the scenario where both of those teams make the playoffs?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: Well, Utah, theirs would have to be, I guess, go
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: undefeated and lose to BYU in the conference championship game.
- 1:04:44Speaker 15: And then BYU's got a 2-0.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Big 12 champion. Yeah, BYU's a two-loss Big 12 champion.
- 1:04:50Speaker 15: Scott's got it right here.
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: And Utah is undefeated. But here are Utah's wins. If
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: they're undefeated, this is what they're getting in on. Idaho, Arkansas,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: Utah State, Iowa State, Kansas, Colorado. They need Houston to
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: not lose again, Lance. That's what they need right now
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: is Houston don't lose again.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: And that's going to be a big ask.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Cincinnati, BYU, which at that point would be a conference champion. Arizona,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: sneaky good Arizona, by the way. That's only a two-loss team.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: TCU and West Virginia. That is a hard sell on me.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: It's a hard sell Utah getting in with that resume.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: You see his first four out, though. Notre Dame first
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: team out again. How's that going to go over? So
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I guess he's got Miami beating Notre Dame. So it
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: looks like he's projecting because you wouldn't have Notre Dame
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: out right now. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:33Speaker 11: So I guess that's what he's thinking is BYU is
- 1:05:35Speaker 11: going to be a two-loss Big 12 champion.
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Yeah. And he's got Miami beating Notre Dame, I guess.
- 1:05:39Speaker 15: You see how they're hosting? He's still got four Big
- 1:05:41Speaker 15: 10 teams in.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I don't know. I tell you the one thing, it's
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: hard enough, Brooks, and I still owe you my SEC
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: power ratings, and I apologize. I'll get them to you
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: after the shows today. It's hard enough to do those
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: power ratings for you every week in the SEC. I
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: cannot imagine being tasked with, hey, put together a 12-team
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: playoff for me every week. Because do you know what
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: an idiot you're going to look like when people go
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: back and look at some of those you put together?
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: I think everybody's going to look like that, even week
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: to week. I mean, again, look at this right here.
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: He's got Kentucky in. Do you think Kentucky will be
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: in the 12-team playoff? I don't know.
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:21Speaker 2: I mean, right now I would say, yeah.
- 1:06:23Speaker 11: Well, so I went, speaking of on three, I actually
- 1:06:25Speaker 11: went back and reposted. They did a graphic of the
- 1:06:29Speaker 11: national championship prediction.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:31Speaker 11: Did they put that back out or did you go
- 1:06:32Speaker 11: dig that back up? I dug it back up. I
- 1:06:34Speaker 11: was curious how many people picked Oregon in the preseason.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: Enough.
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:06:38Speaker 15: Brett McMurphy, J.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: J.D. Pickle.
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: How does he say?
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Pickle. Pickle. Okay.
- 1:06:45Speaker 15: Brooks Austin.
- 1:06:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:06:46Speaker 11: Uh david pollock brandon walker a few on our panel
- 1:06:50Speaker 11: picked organ.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Is there uh brooks alston had him scott did you
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: have him.
- 1:06:54Speaker 7: I did i had the ducks as my national.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: Champ yeah man you lost your quarterback for a month
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: i just i know there are other things i mean
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: like you fire your offensive coordinator so clearly there were
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: issues but I mean, it's not hard to figure this
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: one out with Oregon. They've lost an NFL quarterback for
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: a month.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't care. You have to care about that. No,
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: but you lose at Oklahoma State. I know they're better
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: than advertised. No, no, that was with the NFL quarterback.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: That was the head scratcher. But I don't care. The
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: backup quarterback, you're playing a bad Illinois team.
- 1:07:24Speaker 8: I know.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: And you lose by double digits.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I know. And you're really, I mean, they were up 10-0,
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: did not score again in that game. Yeah, so Scott
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: is showing you the on three people that picked Oregon.
- 1:07:33Speaker 15: No, this is like a national media.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, this is the national media. On3
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: put it out, but the national media people that picked Oregon.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Hey, look.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I mean, we do this every single year. Somebody sent
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: me this on social media on X. Give me a second.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I'll pull it up because we do this every single year.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: Every single year, the Associated Press poll comes out. I've
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: got the numbers right here. Going into this year.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: Oh, this is going to be different. I know we
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: always had one out of the top ten. It is
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: no telling.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Every year we do this. So the Associated Press Top
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: 25 comes out. 22 of the last 23 years. So
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: it happens almost every single year. There is a top
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: ten team that finishes unranked. And every year we look
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: at it and we say, well, this is not going
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: to be the year, man. I can't make any of
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: these teams be unranked. And right now, as was pointed
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: out to me over the weekend, you've got Texas A & M, Oregon,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: and Oklahoma all unranked. We've got three this year. Not
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: just one, but three this year.
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: And do we have another potential?
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: Who would it be? I don't know.
- 1:08:35Speaker 15: I'm asking.
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: USC wasn't top ten.
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: God, no. Nor did they deserve to be.
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: I told you guys.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: I'll make that my game next, if you'll give me
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: a second here. Let me pull up the preseason rankings.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Preseason Associated Press. And I'll read you the top 10
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: and you tell me if anybody else could finish unranked. God,
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: this is taking forever.
- 1:08:57Speaker 15: I got it right here.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: You got it?
- 1:08:59Speaker 15: Ohio State. I'll just run through the top ten.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: This is the preseason.
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: I'll ding when we've got one that possibly.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Oregon. Well, ding. They will. Georgia. No.
- 1:09:09Speaker 15: Notre Dame.
- 1:09:10Speaker 6: No.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Texas. No, it'd have to completely fall apart. Indiana.
- 1:09:15Speaker 10: No.
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: Miami.
- 1:09:16Speaker 6: No.
- 1:09:17Speaker 15: Texas A & M.
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: Yes. Yes.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: Ole Miss.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Yeah, no, unless his bottom falls out. And Oklahoma. Yes.
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: Yeah, so those three.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: Yeah, three. I mean, it's 30% of it. Yeah.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: I mean, that's a hefty number.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Scott's showing it to you.
- 1:09:31Speaker 11: The thing I found pretty fascinating was I looked this
- 1:09:34Speaker 11: up over the weekend, and obviously that 2007 season still
- 1:09:37Speaker 11: stands out as the most times this has occurred, but
- 1:09:39Speaker 11: already we've had eight top 10 ranked teams lose to
- 1:09:43Speaker 11: unranked teams.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty insane.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, Scott, keep that up, because by
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: the way, the other half of the stat that is
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: rarely talked about is that in 29 of the last
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: 32 seasons, an unranked team has finished in the top 10.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: And I don't know that they can close the deal,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: but in that little poll that Scott's got up right there,
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: I don't see Kentucky and I don't see UCLA. And
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: both those teams are ranked in the top 10 right now.
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: So that's the other half of the stat we don't
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: talk about as much, is that 29 of the last
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: 32 seasons, the team has started unranked and finished in
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: the top 10. Don't know if UCLA and Kentucky can
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: close the deal, but they are there right now.
- 1:10:22Speaker 15: Wake forced it far off either.
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Wake's at 14 right now. They were unranked. And
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: they just continue to win and nobody pays attention to them.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: They play SMU in a couple of weeks. And I
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: was talking with Lugenbill about this earlier. That's probably for
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: the spot opposite Miami in the conference championship game. Wake
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: at SMU.
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: I mean, we could have believed SMU before the season.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Oh, 100% if you told me Miami and SMU played
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: for the championship.
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: But I don't know how SMU beats Wake right now.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Wake is playing well. Kalani Satake, Cup 15, Tyler. Here
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: is the BYU head coach as we wrap up that game.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Ask if the obvious would be, oh, they just couldn't
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: get past Notre Dame. That's why they lost this game
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: to Central Florida. He's asked that.
- 1:11:05Speaker 13: Was this a difficult week to get your guys to
- 1:11:07Speaker 13: move on from Notre Dame win last week?
- 1:11:09Speaker 15: Did you feel like that just.
- 1:11:11Speaker 9: you know where they were folks this week no you
- 1:11:13Speaker 9: know um i think it would be easy for me
- 1:11:16Speaker 9: to just say oh yeah there's a sled that there
- 1:11:18Speaker 9: was we played hard i mean we started fast and
- 1:11:21Speaker 9: we were in it we were in the games like
- 1:11:23Speaker 9: you see the guys mentality they were in it i
- 1:11:25Speaker 9: just don't think i want to disrespect ucf by saying
- 1:11:28Speaker 9: that this was a letdown from us we played hard
- 1:11:31Speaker 9: they just played better and they and they they bested
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: us so i just can't sit here and tell you
- 1:11:36Speaker 9: like oh yeah there's a sled down all that but
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: When I say to me as a head coach, we've
- 1:11:39Speaker 9: got to get these guys ready. We just made a
- 1:11:41Speaker 9: lot of mistakes, assignment mistakes. These mistakes shouldn't be happening midseason.
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: And so that's on me.
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: You know, the bigger surprise for me, and I thought
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: this is the moment, or I thought last week against
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: Notre Dame was the moment they would lose or they
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: would miss L.J. Martin, more so here. But what surprised
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: me was Central Florida's ability to stay on the field,
- 1:12:04Speaker 2: 9-16 on third downs, and 463 yards against that BYU defense.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: I don't disagree with Kalani Satake there. They did just play.
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I mean, they matched everything BYU was doing, and then
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: obviously BYU was minus one in turnovers. So it didn't
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: seem flukish, and that's bad for BYU because if middle
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: of the pack, Big 12 can beat what is viewed
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: as the elite. Reese Davis had BYU his number one team.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: 20 voters last week had BYU their number one team.
- 1:12:33Speaker 6: That's right.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: And as we have seen many times this year, number
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: one cannot hold on to number one. And our number
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: two cannot hold on to number two. In this case,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Miami was actually number one. And boy, did they hold
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: on to it. They destroyed Pitt. I felt bad. Like, man,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: I think I asked Lance two or three times. I
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: think I asked Furman, is there a path to victory
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: for Pitt? The answer was a definitive no. There was
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: not a path to victory for Pitt. So my apologies
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: for even making you answer that question a couple times.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: Holden Gerner was not terrible. But Miami is just their name.
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: I mean, Malachi Toney.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Malachi Toney is going to win the Heisman, isn't he?
- 1:13:08Speaker 9: No.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Well, I don't know now.
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: I don't know if I can say no that quick
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: because Jeremiah Smith is playing with a backup.
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: Jeremiah Smith is playing with a backup, but still, you've
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: got Darion Mintz there, so this is almost the Mac Jones,
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Devontae Smith.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: It is, and Smith won that one.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: But I do think it's easy when you identify this team.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: As good as Mintz has been, by far, in a way,
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: not even close, is what Malachi Toney.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Is for this team. Yeah, the problem with Malachi Toney
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: is he's running these numbers up against a bunch of stiffs.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: I'll tell you how Malachi Toney could win the Heisman.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Have that type of game against Notre Dame. Maybe not
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: the exact numbers he had. I mean, you're not going
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: to do that.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: That's going to be another problem. Like if he has
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: one of those games against Notre Dame, if he just
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: has a pedestrian game against Notre Dame, he's got no
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: shot because there's so many voters early in the season.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: I think people were watching a little Miami. The schedule
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: is so bad. Nobody's watching these games.
- 1:13:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: All right, so that was BYU-UCF. We're going to go
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: to our next game when we return, and I've already
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: told you who that's going to be. That is going
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: to be USC taking on Wisconsin. That was a puzzling result,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: I guess, for USC. Hard Rock Bets brings you the show.

- 1:15:18Speaker 1: We rotate picking one. It is my pick next. We're
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: about to do USC Wisconsin, just a head-scratching performance. by
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley and USC. Lance will talk about that in
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: a moment after I remind you about Crockett Coffee. Started
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: by Clay Travis, Buck Sexton, and Buck's brother Mason, named
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: after Davy Crockett, the hunter, the storyteller, the patriot, the
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: backwoods legend. You see the logo? Davy Crockett surfing on
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: the back of a crocodile, right? That's part of the
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: myth of Davy Crockett. This coffee means business. 100% pure
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Arabica high-altitude beans, small batch roasted in America's heartland. And
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: it ships fresh roasted, not sitting on some warehouse shelf

- 1:16:21Speaker 1: are helping great people. Good coffee made in America doing
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: some good as well. CrockettCoffee.com. That's Crockett. C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T. CrockettCoffee.com. $ 24.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: 2-7 Wisconsin beats USC, Lance. That one, not surprised at
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: the win, but surprised at how bad USC was.
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm trying to find this text because this was
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: pretty amazing. You might have been on the text thread.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Let me see if I can find this. It was
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: stats from that game.
- 1:16:53Speaker 15: Was it for me, Lance? It was me texting.
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, it was. So, Brooks, give us that.
- 1:16:58Speaker 11: The quarterback for Wisconsin threw for a whopping... 58 yards,
- 1:17:03Speaker 11: and they won by 17 points. You know who else
- 1:17:07Speaker 11: won by 17 points and threw for 58 yards? Greg
- 1:17:11Speaker 11: McElroy in Alabama in the 2009 National Championship.
- 1:17:14Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: That was a National Championship performance. 43 rush attempts. They just,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: I mean, literally said, USC, you're not man enough. You're
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: not man enough to stop us.
- 1:17:24Speaker 11: I think Lance is looking for the USC stat line.
- 1:17:27Speaker 11: I sent him minus 17 yards rushing. two turnovers, two
- 1:17:30Speaker 11: missed field goals.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: And for the first time in Lincoln Riley's history as
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: a head coach, held to seven points.
- 1:17:35Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: Well, look, the offense was awful. We talk about this
- 1:17:38Speaker 2: explosive offense. You know, anytime they travel out of this
- 1:17:41Speaker 2: time zone, it's dicey. I know they got away with it.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: And in Piscataway, they got away with it. And State
- 1:17:47Speaker 2: College against Penn State. But, like, this offense was awful.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: And Trent Mosley's back in the lineup. King Miller, the
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: USC offense, couldn't run the football at all. And they
- 1:17:57Speaker 2: did get physically dominated.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: For Colton Joseph to throw for 58 yards and they
- 1:18:01Speaker 2: win the game by 17 over basically a top 15 team. Yeah,
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: this was a smoke and mirrors USC team. And it
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: still is kind of amazing that, you know, that loss
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: to Oregon with a backup quarterback. Like, if they would
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: have gotten that win, we really would have bid into
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: USC was good.
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely. They're not good, Lance.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: They are 6-2.
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: It is hard to envision them... riding the ship in
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: time to make it to the college football playoffs. Here's
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: what they have in front of them, Ohio State, this
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: Saturday night in the Coliseum. And then at Indiana, you
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: get interim coach Maryland, and then at UCLA, who looks
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: like a better team than them right now. There's no
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: way they win all those games.
- 1:18:47Speaker 2: Again, if Wisconsin can hold USC to 7, points, what
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: can Indiana and UCLA's defense do?
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: I just don't know that they can score them. You've
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: got to win all four of those games now, and
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: they're not going to do that.
- 1:18:58Speaker 2: Very, very much in play for Lincoln Riley. And him
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: losing the job after this season. It will be interesting
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: because if they bounce back and beat Ohio State, they're
- 1:19:07Speaker 2: right back to where they were before this Wisconsin game.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: I think if you would have told USC fans, like,
- 1:19:12Speaker 2: you're going to have a letdown, which I don't know
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: how you have a letdown coming off a bye, but
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: you're going to have a letdown, but then you're going
- 1:19:17Speaker 2: to beat Ohio State in the Coliseum. I think USC
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: fans would have taken that, I guess. I don't know.
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: Here is a very downtrodden Lincoln Riley after the worst
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: offensive performance a team that is coached by him has
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: ever had.
- 1:19:31Speaker 16: Yeah, really disappointing game. Just flat out didn't play good
- 1:19:34Speaker 16: enough on any of the three sides of the ball.
- 1:19:38Speaker 16: Didn't coach good enough. Made critical errors on the road
- 1:19:41Speaker 16: against a good football team that you can't make. We
- 1:19:44Speaker 16: had our opportunities after the slow start, the turnovers, to
- 1:19:48Speaker 16: get back in the game, especially with forcing those field
- 1:19:50Speaker 16: goals early, which were the field goal and the missed
- 1:19:52Speaker 16: field goal, which was huge. But we did the things
- 1:19:55Speaker 16: that you can't do on the road. We lost turnover battle,
- 1:19:57Speaker 16: lost rushing battle. We had some big penalties at times
- 1:20:01Speaker 16: that obviously were really hindered on all sides of the ball.
- 1:20:04Speaker 16: So just not good enough. I take responsibility for it. Team,
- 1:20:10Speaker 16: we did not play at our capability on any of
- 1:20:11Speaker 16: the three sides. We didn't coach good enough. And on
- 1:20:15Speaker 16: the road, as you see in this league and across
- 1:20:17Speaker 16: college football, you better be ready to be at your best.
- 1:20:20Speaker 16: It's hard to win on the road. You've got to
- 1:20:22Speaker 16: play a lot better than we did tonight.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: There are people speculating, and this is just purely speculative,
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: that some getting out one step ahead of the posse,
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: he might be a name you see for the Baylor job.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Would that stun you if he.
- 1:20:37Speaker 2: I mean, that'll show you he's running for sure.
- 1:20:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:20:41Speaker 2: I mean, he needs to get destroyed because, you know,
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: you could easily escape the conversation and the theory that
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma because he wanted to get away
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: from the SEC.
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: You there, you've never really bought into that one.
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: I've never bought into that one.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: Yeah. But if he did this, you might, in retrospect,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: buy into it.
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: I mean, it was just, I, at that point he
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: could have said, Hey, look, my job was in jeopardy.
- 1:21:01Speaker 2: I'm doing what's best for my family. You can't leave
- 1:21:05Speaker 2: USC to go to Waco.
- 1:21:06Speaker 9: You can't.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: Now that's, that's not a bad job. And, You know,
- 1:21:09Speaker 2: maybe Lincoln Riley in that Big 12 setting can kind
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: of recreate what he did with those offenses. I mean,
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: I honestly think it's a pretty good fit.
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: I do, too.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: And he knows how to recruit Texas really well. And
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: if you're Baylor, that's all you really got to do
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: is get some good athletes out of Texas and get
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: the transfer portal right.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: Like, if I'm Baylor, I feel like I'm getting a
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: bit of a damaged package and I'm getting the— The return,
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: Lincoln Riley, I had to buy it off the return
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: sale rack. But I'm like, I'm still getting Lincoln Riley.
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: That's a pretty good offense in a conference that is
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: wide open.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think it's one of those situations. If
- 1:21:40Speaker 2: you're a Baylor fan right now, you'd take winning 55
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: to 48. Oh, heck yeah.
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is the one thing. The universal
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: report I've seen out of Waco is that they'll go
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: with a more offensive-minded coach this time. The defensive-minded coach
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: they saw enough of. Yeah. And Dave Aranda. So you
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: can almost guarantee it's going to be obvious.
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: I will say that one surprised me.
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: Baylor's firing of Dave Aranda.
- 1:22:02Speaker 2: Yeah, not necessarily at the end of the season. Two
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: stinkers in a.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: Row, though. They had not lost to Kansas in 17 tries.
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: And it was two stinkers in a row. It felt
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: like their season turned on that missed two-point conversion against Auburn.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: I feel like if they get that and win that game...
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: It's just a little bit of a different team, but
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I think at the end of the season, we'll
- 1:22:21Speaker 2: look back on that game and what that might do
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: for Auburn. I mean, without that win, I don't know
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: if Auburn gets bowl eligible right now.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. I mean, as crazy as it was
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: back to week one, that was a bit of a
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: turning point game. All right, so that is Wisconsin. Oh,
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: by the way, I just wanted to do this real quick,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: and Scott does not have Wisconsin schedule. that I'm aware of,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: readily available, nor should he. However, Lance, this is a
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: 3-1 conference team, 5-2 overall. Their out-of-conference loss is to
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: Notre Dame, and it was a blowout. But Wisconsin's remaining schedule,
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: it starts with a big noon kick Saturday at Iowa.
- 1:22:55Speaker 2: This is am i wasting my time you're wasting your
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: time just listen to it this is the big 10
- 1:23:01Speaker 2: version of auburn.
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: But listen to it if you will at iowa saturday
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: now was probably a prohibitive favorite how big a favorite.
- 1:23:07Speaker 2: Is i mean it's not massive right now the last
- 1:23:09Speaker 2: number i saw on that game what time is.
- 1:23:12Speaker 17: Kick uh it's big new kick saturday oh yeah um.
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: I've got it right here they i was three and
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: a half.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Now, three and a half points when Iowa and Wisconsin
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: plays is like ten and a half when everybody else plays. Lance,
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: after that, they host Rutgers.
- 1:23:30Speaker 2: That's a win.
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: Lance, after that, they're at interim coach Maryland.
- 1:23:33Speaker 2: That's a win.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: Lance, after that, they're at Purdue. Listen to what you're
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: saying here.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: That's a win. I don't know. It should be a win.
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: Okay. And then they host Minnesota on Black Friday night.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: I mean, I just gave you a path for two-loss Wisconsin,
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: who is nowhere close to being good enough to be
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: in the playoffs.
- 1:23:54Speaker 2: Okay, so what are what we would deem the quality
- 1:23:56Speaker 2: wins for Wisconsin? I mean, obviously, USC probably still will
- 1:24:00Speaker 2: be one. But that's it, right?
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: Oh, they've got no quality wins. But they're a 10-2
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Big Ten team. And there may not be a lot
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: of those.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: I mean, it would be.
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: Just say now, look.
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: Even with an Ohio State resume, Ohio State at 9-3
- 1:24:12Speaker 2: would be over Wisconsin.
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: 100%.
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: And should be. Just on eye test alone at that one.
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: I'm just saying in the world we're living in, you
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: can't immediately discount it though. I think they probably lose
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: to Iowa and we just wasted our time there.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: Uh, move on for that one before we get to
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: some NFL in the next segment. Who's your game?
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Uh, let's go with, we've already done that one. Let's
- 1:24:37Speaker 2: go Indiana, Michigan.
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: 13 to six and overtime. Um, You know, that was
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: another game where you talked about chaos in college football.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: If we're going to have a chaotic Saturday, could Indiana,
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: they haven't lost it forever, could they take back-to-back losses?
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: This is one of the first times I found myself
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: pulling against Indiana.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: And pulling for Michigan. That had to be hard to do.
- 1:24:56Speaker 2: Yeah, and again, 11 o'clock, I didn't have any skin
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: in the game, but I want the ultimate chaos right now.
- 1:25:00Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:25:00Speaker 2: And I know a lot of people have been pulling
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: against Cignetti because a lot of people think the act
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: is getting a little bit old, but I thought Michigan
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: had them for a moment. I mean, the Michigan offense
- 1:25:09Speaker 2: looks a little bit better. It didn't look good on
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: Saturday because I think Indiana's defense is that good.
- 1:25:13Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: You're saying their offense looks better on a day where
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: they scored six points, and it took them all of
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: regulation to get to six.
- 1:25:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and look, they can't run the football against that
- 1:25:21Speaker 2: Indiana defense, but I don't know who is running the
- 1:25:23Speaker 2: football against the Indiana defense. The scary thing for Indiana
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: is how bad Josh Hoover looked.
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: They threw one time in the second half. And it
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: was incomplete.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they have no confidence right now.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: They really don't. So I brought this up to Luganville.
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: You may remember, I know you'll remember this game. The
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: year Michigan won the national championship under Jim Harbaugh, they
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: go to Penn State, and they did not throw the ball.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: With J.J. McCarthy, who's a starter in the NFL right now,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: didn't throw the ball for the whole second half. Do
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: you remember that? Yeah.
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: They ran like a million times. I think it was
- 1:25:55Speaker 2: 16 straight.
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, 16 straight runs in the second half. And I
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: remember saying, or maybe it was the whole fourth quarter,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: or whatever, and I remember saying then, I don't know
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: if you can win the national championship if you don't
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: have enough trust in your quarterback to throw it at
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: least one time. Well, they did. It just feels different
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: with Josh Hoover. And this is a guy I thought
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: was going to be tremendous this year, but they really
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: don't have a ton of faith in him right now,
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: do they?
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: No, I don't think they do. And that is a
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: difficult place to play. I still will stand by it. Like,
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: Michigan's offense is so bad, but their defense, especially in
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: Ann Arbor, is so good. I mean, we saw this
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: against Oklahoma. That defense won the game for them. The
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: defense almost won the game for Michigan this week.
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: I mean, Indiana is living on that defense. They've got
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: two good receivers, and Klatt was even talking about it
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: in the game, and Gus, too. You have not heard
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: Marsh and Becker's name a lot today.
- 1:26:45Speaker 2: I don't think Indiana's got another loss coming up, though,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: do they? I think they have survived. I know they've
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: got USC, but it's in Bloomington.
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: I mean, that's what I was about to say. You
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: think they're going to beat USC, don't you?
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: Okay. Indiana only remaining, you know, the game against Oregon
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: that they've got does not look as challenging as it
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: once did, right? No. Indiana has got, or no, they
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: don't play Oregon. I thought they played Oregon. No, here's
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: what they've got left. Minnesota, USC, at Washington, Purdue. Indiana's
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: in the playoffs.
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: Yeah. They lock their playoff chances in. 11-1. If they
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: win the Big Ten, they might be the number one
- 1:27:15Speaker 2: overall seed.
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: They could be, and I don't think they're that good.
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: I don't think they're the number one, but I don't
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: know who is.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Right now, if Indiana played Miami, I would lean Indiana.
- 1:27:26Speaker 2: I wouldn't feel great about it, but I.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: Would lean Indiana. But I mean, some of the offensive,
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: like they scored 15 in the lost Ohio. Here's their
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: offense over the last three weeks, and this is the
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: trend that is starting to worry about them, Lance. 20
- 1:27:39Speaker 1: and a win at Nebraska, where they could have easily
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: lost that game.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: Well, they had six points in the fourth quarter.
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: Six points in the fourth quarter. 15 in the lost
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Ohio State where they did lose the game at home,
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: and then 13 in overtime at Michigan. Their offense has been,
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: it's just they haven't been able to run the ball
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: effectively and Hoover hasn't played well. I guess those two
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: things are probably going hand in hand.
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: Yeah, look, and I think Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe
- 1:28:03Speaker 2: are pretty good running backs. Not what you got last
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: year from the running back position with Kalon Black back
- 1:28:08Speaker 2: there and Roman Hemby. But if this team had Fernando
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: Mendoza of last year, they would be undefeated. and and
- 1:28:17Speaker 2: they would be the number one team.
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: And look they could if if if the pass is
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: more towards the middle of the field or marsh gets
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: a toe down they're undefeated right now yep and they beat.
- 1:28:27Speaker 2: Ohio state it just it looks so different with this
- 1:28:30Speaker 2: team like i think their defense is airtight but you
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: just don't trust the offense right now and you know
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: unfortunately for charlie becker and nick marsh you know hoover's
- 1:28:38Speaker 2: just not playing at a high.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: Level because we've done this for everyone they play Minnesota
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: Saturday 230.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: CBS game They're 19 and a half point favorite.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I just don't see it. Minnesota.
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: I heard Bo, our company president earlier today, like how
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: can they even score 19 points? Like why are they
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: laying 19 points? What did you immediately say?
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I said, well, I know who Lance's play is now.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: It's the first thing you heard this week. That isn't all.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: It does feel like an awful high line with a
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: team that I just told you struggled to get to
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: 20 at Nebraska, only got to 15 against Ohio State
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: and could only score 13 in overtime against Michigan. 19
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: feels like an awful big number.
- 1:29:11Speaker 10: It does.
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: I mean, it does.
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: And Minnesota coming off a big win over Iowa, perhaps
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: ruining Iowa's chances. So I don't know what you do
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: with that game, but that feels like an awful big
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: number to me, which probably tells you Indiana gets offense
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: right and scores about 40 in that game.
- 1:29:26Speaker 2: I just wonder if somebody else is going to try
- 1:29:28Speaker 2: to draw the Bucky gopher again. All I got to
- 1:29:34Speaker 2: do is change the point spread. It's already right here,
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: haven't it?
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: I'm not going to do it. I don't know.
- 1:29:39Speaker 2: I'm not going to rule it out, but I still
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: haven't erased last week's. Boy, that'd be a big one
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: if Minnesota could pull it off 19 and a half.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Did you have another winner? Yeah, this is an outright winner.
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: This was last week.
- 1:29:48Speaker 11: This is the second time. I picked them as an
- 1:29:50Speaker 11: outright winner against Michigan earlier this year, too.
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: Well, I'm pissed because I was coming to draw this,
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: and Brown knows it.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: I do. He saw my drawing.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: And I was like, I'm not going to do the
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: same thing. So I took North Dakota State, and I
- 1:30:00Speaker 2: think I lost by a half point or a point.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Yeah, still haven't erased it. I'm just going to hold it. Tyler,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: can we see how it feels real quick? Hang on.
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: Hang on, Tyler. Give me a second.
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: You can't go into character. I'm confused. Yeah.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: You're confused about what?
- 1:30:15Speaker 15: What am I feeling?
- 1:30:16Speaker 1: You'll know. You'll know. I'm going to see how it feels.
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Minnesota. I'm not in character.
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: Minnesota at Indiana. 14 and a half points, but Tyler.
- 1:30:29Speaker 9: We don't need them.
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: We don't need them.
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: You did not need them.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: You did not need them. Yeah, I hate that you
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: drew that because that would have gotten me a win too, but.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: I don't really feel it right there. I don't think
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I'm going that route.
- 1:30:40Speaker 2: Well, it's not going to happen this week.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: It's not going to happen. I'm not going that route.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Because there are so many definitive games that you can
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: look at and be like, there is no way. There
- 1:30:46Speaker 2: is no path to victory. I do think Miami-North Carolina
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: gets interesting. I don't want to draw that target.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: It's North Carolina. I know. But North Carolina, just when
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: we start talking about, hey, can North Carolina possibly beat Miami?
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: It could be an interesting game in Chapel Hill. What
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: else is in Chapel Hill? Oh, just a game against Syracuse.
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: And what happened? They lost. They lost.
- 1:31:06Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: I mean, it's just, but it is not going to
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: stun me coming off a loss to Syracuse if Miami
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: is in the fight for their life.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: I mean, coming off the loss to Syracuse, the way
- 1:31:16Speaker 2: Miami looked against Pitt, I mean, the public's going to
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: be laying this 14 and a half. They're going to
- 1:31:21Speaker 2: be all about the road favorite.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: Yeah. Was there a big game we didn't get to
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: before we go to the NFL in the next segment?
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: We got a whole other two hours coming up, so
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: we can always move to those two.
- 1:31:32Speaker 2: UCLA is not a big game. Oklahoma, Mississippi State.
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: Yeah, Camario, it feels like they brought them back too early,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: doesn't it?
- 1:31:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, Fluff came out and played well, but
- 1:31:41Speaker 2: at that point it was too late. Oklahoma gets up 16-0,
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: and you thought with that defense with backup quarterback, they
- 1:31:46Speaker 2: had no shot. They made it interesting. I give Mississippi
- 1:31:48Speaker 2: State credit. They came back.
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, Oklahoma had to get first downs to
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: end the game, and they were able to do it
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: to their credit.
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: And the surprising thing is Zach Garnett's defense right now.
- 1:31:58Speaker 2: Oklahoma could not run the football coming into this game,
- 1:32:00Speaker 2: averaging just a little over 92 yards per game. They
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: go 184 on the ground on the road against Mississippi State.
- 1:32:05Speaker 2: And Mateer wasn't awful. No, no, I thought Mateer.
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: Actually probably played good. I should have said that.
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: That is probably the best version of Mateer, completing 76%
- 1:32:14Speaker 2: of his passes. He didn't turn it over. Didn't do
- 1:32:17Speaker 2: a ton with the legs, but just enough, right at
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: four yards a carry.
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, just a... Oklahoma's a team. I mean,
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: they're out of the playoffs. All they can do is
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: play spoiler moving forward. I forgot at first to hear
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: from Kurt Cignetti, just real quick, as we finish up
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: Indiana and Michigan. Here is the Indiana head coach. This
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: is the way, perhaps the question was asked, because this
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: is how Scott gives it to me. How involved is
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: he in working through problems with coordinators? Now, I don't
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: think they're saying you've got coordinator problems, but... Because they don't, right?
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: I mean, they've got respected coordinators.
- 1:32:49Speaker 2: Very respected.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: With Shanahan and Haynes. Shanahan on offense, Haynes on defense.
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: But they've got problems with what those coordinators are having
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: to produce, I guess is the best way of putting it.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Why don't we just hear the Indiana coach talk about it?
- 1:33:03Speaker 13: Well, I felt like if we didn't screw it up
- 1:33:06Speaker 13: by turning the ball over on offense, we're making a
- 1:33:09Speaker 13: critical mistake once we got up 6-0. And I saw
- 1:33:12Speaker 13: what kind of game it was becoming, which I kind
- 1:33:15Speaker 13: of went into thinking it could be that kind of game,
- 1:33:18Speaker 13: that they'd have a hard time beating us. And we
- 1:33:20Speaker 13: almost screwed it up, you know, with the interception and
- 1:33:24Speaker 13: Daly jumping off sides on the dead cadence and a
- 1:33:30Speaker 13: few other things. And then at one point it looked
- 1:33:32Speaker 13: very improbable. And we found a way to kind of
- 1:33:36Speaker 13: swing it back in our favor. So, yeah, you know,
- 1:33:40Speaker 13: I was involved, but I wasn't loving what I was
- 1:33:42Speaker 13: seeing either.
- 1:33:43Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:33:45Speaker 13: And there were a lot of discussions about Grant Wilson,
- 1:33:49Speaker 13: you know, and Josh Hoover in the second half because
- 1:33:53Speaker 13: Grant had a good week of practice. He's very capable.
- 1:33:56Speaker 13: He's big, strong, can run. And I think at the
- 1:33:59Speaker 13: end of the day, we felt like, you know, it's
- 1:34:01Speaker 13: been Josh's season. And even though he's not 100%, we
- 1:34:04Speaker 13: got to finish it out with him. And he responded.
- 1:34:08Speaker 13: And he's only going to get better physically from here
- 1:34:10Speaker 13: on out.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: I know he's crediting it to injury, but it's not
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: entirely injury. I never thought we would be in a
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: situation where we're talking about benching Josh Hoover.
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't either. I mean, I thought, you know,
- 1:34:22Speaker 2: it was going to be a downgrade from a guy
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: that won a Heisman Trophy. But I thought with his experience,
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: a fifth year guy that's got a ton of starts
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: under his belt at TCU, that it was going to
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: be an easy transition just based on the way that
- 1:34:32Speaker 2: offense moves. But I do believe, and we just went
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: through the schedule, they're going to end up 11-1, whether
- 1:34:38Speaker 2: they lose the Big Ten championship or not. Worst case,
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: they're hosting a first-round game. In this world of college football,
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: as crazy as this year has been, if Indiana is
- 1:34:49Speaker 2: able to pull off back-to-back national championships... I don't even
- 1:34:53Speaker 2: know how we could explain that.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you.
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: But I think going into it, like if the playoffs
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: started today, I mean. They'd be your favorite? They wouldn't
- 1:34:59Speaker 2: be your favorite. I think Georgia or Notre Dame would
- 1:35:02Speaker 2: probably be. Well, right now I know Georgia and Notre
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: Dame are co-favorites.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: I mean, you can grab some Alabama at 12-1 if
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: you're feeling that.
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: I mean, why not? It's only going to go down from.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: It's either going to be irrelevant after the LSU game
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: or drop. Considerably after the LSU game. This is the
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: only time you get it at 12-1, right?
- 1:35:23Speaker 2: No, I think it's still going to be 12. Even
- 1:35:26Speaker 2: if they were to beat LSU. If they beat LSU,
- 1:35:27Speaker 2: it's still 12-1. I still think it would be 12-1.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: How?
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: Look at the rest of that schedule.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: I mean, that's going to be a one-game situation. I
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: get the rest of the schedule, and they're going to
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: get in the college football playoff, but.
- 1:35:39Speaker 15: I don't know.
- 1:35:40Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know how you make it shorter
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: than that. I'm a little surprised it's 12th. Alabama, to me,
- 1:35:44Speaker 2: looks like a 20-1 to win the national championship.
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: I don't disagree with you. All right, we'll get to
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: the NFL when we return. Fun day in the pros.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: That is next on the next round on Sports State
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bet. All right, it is the
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: next round presented by Hard Rock Bet on Sport and State.
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: About to talk about the NFL weekend we saw. Don't forget,
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: two more hours of the next round coming up. Next
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: round live on YouTube. Next round live on YouTube if
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: you want to go back and grab it. After you
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: watch Clay and Buck, you can absolutely do that. Before
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: we get to the NFL, a reminder of XXXYAthletics.com. Founded

- 1:37:02Speaker 1: another nfl sunday behind us that was another fun one
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: and probably not only the biggest story coming out of
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: the nfl sunday but the biggest story in all of
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: sports this weekend.
- 1:37:13Speaker 2: The miami dolphins won and what does this do.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: What does it do for the Dolphins? Nothing.
- 1:37:23Speaker 9: No.
- 1:37:23Speaker 2: But I got to wear a shirt.
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: I got to wear... Tyler was just asking me. Tyler
- 1:37:28Speaker 1: said the people are asking, what happened to Victory Monday? Well,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: we hadn't had one in a while. Dolphins hadn't won
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: in a while.
- 1:37:37Speaker 2: So the 0-5 Dolphins coming to this game, getting outscored
- 1:37:40Speaker 2: by an average of 12 points per game.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: Lance had not led all season.
- 1:37:43Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:37:43Speaker 2: They win. They convert three fourth downs in that game.
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: They're three for three in the red zone since Aaron
- 1:37:50Speaker 2: Glenn took over. This is one of the more amazing stats.
- 1:37:54Speaker 2: The Jets have been outscored 107-6 in the final two
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: minutes of the first half. They have scored six points
- 1:38:01Speaker 2: in the final two minutes of the first half in
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: 24 games.
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: That's stunning. Yeah. That really is.
- 1:38:07Speaker 2: So Aaron Glenn is 5-19. He has absolutely no shot
- 1:38:13Speaker 2: of keeping his job, and you just wonder if he's
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: fired today.
- 1:38:16Speaker 10: Yes.
- 1:38:16Speaker 2: Do you think he's fired today? I think when we
- 1:38:19Speaker 2: see breaking news in the NFL, I don't think it's
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: going to be an injury. I think it's going to
- 1:38:23Speaker 2: be Aaron Glenn getting fired.
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: I listened to the fan on the way to work
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: today just for the enjoyment of it. They weren't going
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: that far. Really? No. well you know Boomer played for
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: the Jets Boomer's friends with Frank Wright who's the offensive
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: coordinator so I think Boomer's in a tough spot there
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: but boy the fans were fed up they were ready to.
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: Okay nobody cares about that game congratulations oh hey to
- 1:38:41Speaker 2: your dolphins I think we need to put a little
- 1:38:44Speaker 2: bit more love on Minnesota. They get down 7-0 right
- 1:38:47Speaker 2: off the bat against the Colts, and then that defense
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: completely shuts down. They are allowing 1.1 points per possession
- 1:38:53Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: You can kill the celebration music. Lance moved us on
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: from that very quickly.
- 1:38:57Speaker 2: I don't think anybody cares. Like, nobody cares about the
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: Dolphins right now.
- 1:39:01Speaker 1: I mean, we've talked Rams.
- 1:39:02Speaker 2: Nobody. Well, that was the super team. Rams for years.
- 1:39:05Speaker 1: Nobody cared about them.
- 1:39:06Speaker 2: But according to analytics, this Minnesota defense is a top-10
- 1:39:11Speaker 2: best-performing defense through six games over the last 20 years.
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: Yeah, they've got no offense, Lance. No offense, but they're undefeated,
- 1:39:17Speaker 1: which tells you what Brian Flores is doing with that defense.
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: yeah well i mean it's got to catch up to
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: him at some point though right you can't keep doing
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: this you would.
- 1:39:24Speaker 2: Think i did think the offense you know took a
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: step in the right direction two weeks ago they took
- 1:39:28Speaker 2: a step back yesterday but they still found a way
- 1:39:30Speaker 2: to get it done with defense they're six and oh right.
- 1:39:33Speaker 17: Now which one remaining undefeated yeah the only one yeah
- 1:39:37Speaker 17: i mean it may be i mean have you have
- 1:39:41Speaker 17: you had them in your power ratings yet in the
- 1:39:43Speaker 17: top five okay so.
- 1:39:44Speaker 2: You've done that yeah i finally had them in last week.
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Finally last week it took a while for you to
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: get them.
- 1:39:48Speaker 2: In yeah um You know, that wasn't obviously a surprise.
- 1:39:52Speaker 2: I mean, they were obviously favored in that game. But Atlanta,
- 1:39:54Speaker 2: I think a lot of people were surprised by that.
- 1:39:57Speaker 2: Atlanta was one of my big plays yesterday. I loved
- 1:39:59Speaker 2: Atlanta all week. They give San Francisco their first loss.
- 1:40:02Speaker 2: It didn't look great early on. But, man, you know,
- 1:40:06Speaker 2: when Atlanta's playing their best, dangerous team.
- 1:40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, when they get everything together, it's what we thought
- 1:40:11Speaker 1: they could be. Now, they've had the issue of Penix
- 1:40:14Speaker 1: being injured. Tua is cooked as a quarterback. So if
- 1:40:18Speaker 1: you have to go to Tua... You know, you're just dead.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: But with all those offensive weapons, we thought if you
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: could just get average play out of Michael Penix, it's
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: a good team.
- 1:40:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and to be able to beat an undefeated San
- 1:40:30Speaker 2: Francisco as an underdog by almost double digits, and Bijon
- 1:40:35Speaker 2: only has 63 rushing yards, you know, they found a
- 1:40:38Speaker 2: way to get it done through the air. Penix had
- 1:40:39Speaker 2: a really, really nice game as far as, like, There
- 1:40:42Speaker 2: were a couple of misthrows late. They just needed a
- 1:40:45Speaker 2: couple of first downs, and that game was way over.
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: And San Francisco gave you three turnovers.
- 1:40:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that was huge.
- 1:40:50Speaker 1: On the road, you turned over three times. Probably not
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: going to beat anybody.
- 1:40:53Speaker 2: Yeah, this is just one of those leagues that, I
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: guess much like college football... You can't just say, OK,
- 1:40:58Speaker 2: they're on the road against Atlanta. They're going to win this.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: That's right. You can't. And I told people all along
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: back to the Dolphins real quick, you can keep picking
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: them in the survivor pools if you want. And I
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: doubt many people had taken the the Jets in a
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: survivor pool. You'd be an idiot to unless that was
- 1:41:12Speaker 1: your last option.
- 1:41:13Speaker 2: That would be a Jimmy Landmine move.
- 1:41:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but you could keep picking against the Dolphins. They're
- 1:41:17Speaker 1: eventually going to win one. And that's just the NFL.
- 1:41:20Speaker 1: Weird game was Ravens-Bingles, big divisional game. Ravens up 13-0
- 1:41:24Speaker 1: at the half. The Bingles look fried, and they scored
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: 35 second-half points. You know, not a great day yesterday,
- 1:41:30Speaker 1: 2-2-1 at Lance's Log.
- 1:41:32Speaker 2: But I did have the Ravens, and when they go
- 1:41:34Speaker 2: up 13, I felt really good about that. Like, how
- 1:41:36Speaker 2: is Snoop Huntley going to play? Well, Joe Burrow gets
- 1:41:38Speaker 2: shut out in the first half. He said that Jamar
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: Chase came in and peeled some paint in the locker
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: room at halftime. And, boy, they came out. They responded. T.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Higgins had a hell of a game. That was surprising
- 1:41:49Speaker 2: that it got away from Baltimore. Not that they lost
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: the game, but they lost the game going away. Yeah.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: You could have scored 35 to nothing in the second half.
- 1:41:57Speaker 2: I thought the biggest surprise all of yesterday was Tampa.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Baker Mayfield back in the lineup. They win by 30
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: on the road in Carolina.
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: Had a 26-point second quarter.
- 1:42:08Speaker 2: Well, this is how this happens in the NFL. You
- 1:42:10Speaker 2: cannot turn the football over. When you're minus four, that's
- 1:42:13Speaker 2: exactly what Carolina was yesterday. That's how you get curb stomped.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: with Baker Mayfield having to do nothing. It was 7-11,
- 1:42:19Speaker 2: 64 yards.
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: I was about to ask you, if I had told
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: you Baker Mayfield throws for 64 yards, you would have thought, God,
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: how bad did the Panthers beat them?
- 1:42:26Speaker 2: No, but if you would have said, you know what, though,
- 1:42:27Speaker 2: Tampa's going to rush for 258 over five yards, the
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: carryout would have been like, okay, they've got a fight shot.
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: And then Bryce turns it over a couple of times.
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: But that was, to me, the biggest surprise. I mean,
- 1:42:37Speaker 2: you know, Tampa Bay, a dog winning the game by 30.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Lions-Packers, this is another game. We've talked about this in...
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: the college portion that Tennessee fans are upset with the
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: officiating in their game. Apparently Packers fans are as well.
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: I didn't get a ton of a chance. I was
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: coming back from a soccer game for my daughter during
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: the late window. So I didn't get a ton of
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: a chance to watch this game 20 to 17. I
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: know you were focused on your Rams.
- 1:43:01Speaker 2: I had it all though. I was watching it.
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: Did you see anything that was just like crazy on
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: the officiating? I mean, I've seen a lot of that.
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: I guess I need to go look at penalty numbers
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: because I don't, I don't know why people would be
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: saying the Packers got a screw job out of the
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: officials in this one.
- 1:43:15Speaker 2: Well, they they got a screw job out of the
- 1:43:17Speaker 2: officials week one against Minnesota. And I think that is
- 1:43:20Speaker 2: carried over with this this Packer fan base.
- 1:43:23Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: You know, I mean, look, this is eight penalties, 81
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: yards to five for 50 for Detroit.
- 1:43:28Speaker 2: I did think that Green Bay's defense did a hell
- 1:43:30Speaker 2: of a job limiting Detroit to 20 points.
- 1:43:33Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: I mean, the Packers team's very, very good. Again, that
- 1:43:37Speaker 2: whole division is really good. So that was not a
- 1:43:40Speaker 2: surprise outcome. I stayed away from that game. I didn't
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: touch it.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: It's not just performative for you. You really thought your
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: Rams were potentially in trouble, and boy, they were not.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: That was a beatdown.
- 1:43:49Speaker 2: I just can't believe the injuries. I really cannot believe
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: how banged up this team. Nate Lambin didn't play yesterday
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: with a concussion. Puka almost didn't play. But they went
- 1:43:57Speaker 2: out and they got back to the basics. And I
- 1:43:59Speaker 2: think McVay is still making these guys believe internally. I mean,
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: this team realistically, and this is, I think you would agree,
- 1:44:05Speaker 2: they should be 5-2. The Josh Wallace pick against Denver,
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: they should have beaten the Cardinals. They should be 5-2.
- 1:44:10Speaker 2: They're not. They're 3-4. The injuries are a massive concern.
- 1:44:14Speaker 2: But the way they responded yesterday and the way both
- 1:44:16Speaker 2: Kyron Williams and Blake Corham ran the football with the
- 1:44:18Speaker 2: Rams going 199 on the ground. got back to play-action pass,
- 1:44:23Speaker 2: opening things up for Stafford. Stafford had a really nice,
- 1:44:25Speaker 2: efficient game, 23 of 29, had the three touchdowns and
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: the one pick. That was a pretty dominant performance. The
- 1:44:34Speaker 2: game didn't indicate it because Vegas got that late two-point
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: conversion and touchdown, but I thought the Rams played... That
- 1:44:41Speaker 2: might have been their best game of the year. I
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: think it was.
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: Yeah, it was. The night game last night, I thought
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: about you immediately. I don't know if you watched the
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: pregame show, but I got home from my daughter's soccer game.
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: Did not. Turned on the pregame show, and they have
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: somebody that does, I don't even know who their sponsor is,
- 1:44:57Speaker 1: the Daily Fantasy stuff. But they do their biggest Daily
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: Fantasy play of that game, and they're like the one
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: the fans are the most on. And last night it
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: was Patrick Mahomes over 200 pass yards. And he goes,
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: that's the one that the most people are on. The
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: public really likes Patrick Mahomes over 200 pass yards. And
- 1:45:14Speaker 1: they go back to the desk and Maria Taylor and
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: Mike Tomlin. They're like, boy, that does seem easy. Patrick
- 1:45:19Speaker 1: Mahomes get 200 pass yards. I was like, well, Patrick
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: Mahomes about to have a crap night. And boy, did he.
- 1:45:24Speaker 2: Well, I did have Seattle. It was maybe my favorite
- 1:45:27Speaker 2: game of the day. I was on Visa again on
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: Saturday morning and the host. Asked me, you know, we
- 1:45:32Speaker 2: went through more college football. And then he said, you know,
- 1:45:35Speaker 2: I know you guys are red hot in the NFL.
- 1:45:37Speaker 2: If you've got one play, what is it? And I
- 1:45:39Speaker 2: was like, Seattle minus the points in Lumen. I think
- 1:45:42Speaker 2: this is going to be a really difficult spot for
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: Pat Mahomes. And he was like, man, but you know
- 1:45:46Speaker 2: about Pat Mahomes and Andy Reid, you know, coming off
- 1:45:49Speaker 2: this bye. And I was like, I don't care.
- 1:45:50Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 1:45:53Speaker 2: And they completely dominated. I mean, what a terrible game.
- 1:45:57Speaker 2: They got back to doing what they did last year
- 1:45:59Speaker 2: en route to winning a Super Bowl, and that was
- 1:46:01Speaker 2: running the football. Kenneth Walker comes in. His Kansas City low,
- 1:46:05Speaker 2: only 36 carries.
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: Nine factor.
- 1:46:07Speaker 2: And what you believe was going to be a revenge
- 1:46:08Speaker 2: game for him. But Emmanuel Wilson showing up for the Seahawks.
- 1:46:11Speaker 2: They're doing it with backup running backs. But 153 yards
- 1:46:15Speaker 2: on the ground, they will take that week in and
- 1:46:16Speaker 2: week out.
- 1:46:17Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: So wild. Real quick, Brooks, we've only got one minute. No,
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: we've only got 30 seconds. I'll voice it. Brooks gave
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: me this stat. The Titans, who lost. Have not won
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: back-to-back games since 2022. And they didn't yesterday. They lost
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: to the Browns.
- 1:46:34Speaker 2: I believe that.
- 1:46:35Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: 2022, though. That's a long time. That's a long time.
