- 0:05Speaker 1: Thank you very much. Thank you nice crowd. What a
- 0:09Speaker 1: good looking group of people. Well, we have some very
- 0:12Speaker 1: very good news today, and a lot of good things
- 0:15Speaker 1: are happening for our country. Please sit down, my fellow Americans.
- 0:20Speaker 1: This is liberation Day waiting for a long time. April second,
- 0:28Speaker 1: twenty twenty five will forever be remembered as the day
- 0:32Speaker 1: American industry was reborn, the day America's destiny was reclaimed,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and the day that we began to make America wealthy again.
- 0:44Speaker 2: Going to make it wealthy, good and wealthy.
- 0:47Speaker 1: For decades, our country has been looted, pillage, raped, and
- 0:50Speaker 1: plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike.
- 0:56Speaker 1: American steel workers, auto workers, farmers, and skilled crafts. We
- 1:00Speaker 1: have a lot of them here with us today. They
- 1:03Speaker 1: really suffered gravely. They watched in anguish as foreign leaders
- 1:08Speaker 1: have stolen our jobs. Foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and foreign scavengers have torn apart our once beautiful American dream.
- 1:17Speaker 1: We had an American dream that you don't hear so
- 1:20Speaker 1: much about. You did four years ago and you are now,
- 1:23Speaker 1: But you know too often, and for many years and
- 1:26Speaker 1: decades even you didn't hear too much about our country
- 1:30Speaker 1: and its taxpayers have been ripped off for more than
- 1:32Speaker 1: fifty years. But it is not going to happen anymore.
- 1:37Speaker 1: It's not going to happen. In a few moments, I
- 1:44Speaker 1: will sign a historic executive order instituting reciprocal tariffs on
- 1:50Speaker 1: countries throughout the world. Reciprocal That means they do it
- 1:54Speaker 1: to us and we do it to them.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Very simple. Can't get any simpler than that.
- 2:02Speaker 1: This is one of the most important days, in my opinion,
- 2:06Speaker 1: in American history. It's our declaration of economic independence. For years,
- 2:12Speaker 1: hard working American citizens were forced to sit on the
- 2:16Speaker 1: sidelines as other nations got rich and powerful, much of
- 2:20Speaker 1: it at our expense. But now it's our turn to
- 2:24Speaker 1: prosper and in so doing, use trillions and trillions of
- 2:28Speaker 1: dollars to reduce our taxes and pay down our national debt.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And it'll all happen very quickly. With today's action, we
- 2:35Speaker 1: are finally going to be able to make America great again,
- 2:39Speaker 1: greater than ever before. Jobs and factories will come roaring
- 2:49Speaker 1: back into our country, and you see it happening already.
- 2:53Speaker 1: We will supercharge our domestic industrial base. We will probably
- 2:57Speaker 1: open foreign markets and break down aign trade barriers, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: ultimately more production at home will mean stronger competition and
- 3:05Speaker 1: lower prices for consumers. This will be indeed the golden
- 3:10Speaker 1: age of American It's coming back.
- 3:12Speaker 2: We're going to come back very strongly.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We're pleased to be joined on this momentous occasion by
- 3:22Speaker 1: Vice President JD vance at JD.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Thank you, thank you, Thank you very much. Are you JD?
- 3:32Speaker 2: It's that wasn't too hard to find. I was looking,
- 3:37Speaker 2: you know.
- 3:38Speaker 1: He likes to take a low key attitude and usually
- 3:40Speaker 1: be said right in front.
- 3:41Speaker 2: He's gaining a lot of confidence.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Mike is and nearly my entire cabinet is here as
- 3:47Speaker 1: well as Speaker Mike Johnson has done an amazing job.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And with the great success we had last night in Florida,
- 3:58Speaker 1: we have a majority of seven, and seven's like a lot.
- 4:03Speaker 2: When we had it at one.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Right, You've done a fantastic job, and many of the
- 4:08Speaker 1: members of the House and Senator with us. Senators, Congressman,
- 4:12Speaker 1: thank you all for being with us. We appreciate it.
- 4:14Speaker 1: For decades, the United States slashed our trade barriers or
- 4:18Speaker 1: other countries while those nations placed massive tariffs on our
- 4:22Speaker 1: products and created outrageous non monetary barriers to decimate our industries.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And in many cases the non monetary barriers were worse
- 4:31Speaker 1: than the monetary ones. They manipulated their currencies, subsidized their exports,
- 4:38Speaker 1: stole our intellectual property, imposed exorbitant vat taxes to disadvantage
- 4:43Speaker 1: our products, adopted unfair rules and technical standards, and created
- 4:49Speaker 1: filthy pollution havens. They were absolutely filthy, but they always
- 4:54Speaker 1: came to us and they said, we're violating.
- 4:56Speaker 2: We should pay for it.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's all detailed in a very big report by the
- 5:00Speaker 1: US Trade Representative on foreign trade barriers, and I'll just
- 5:05Speaker 1: hold it up for you. It's available, and you don't
- 5:09Speaker 1: have to pay too much. As I understand it, you'll
- 5:10Speaker 1: pay nothing. It's a lot of work, a lot of
- 5:13Speaker 1: work for something, actually, because it's a special it's a
- 5:17Speaker 1: special book. It's very frankly, it's very upsetting when you
- 5:21Speaker 1: read it, when you see what people have been doing
- 5:23Speaker 1: to us for thirty years. This all happened with no
- 5:27Speaker 1: response from the United States of America, none whatsoever.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But those days are over.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Let me offer just a few examples of the vicious
- 5:35Speaker 1: attacks workers have faced it for so many years, the
- 5:40Speaker 1: United States charges other countries only a two point four
- 5:45Speaker 1: tariff on motorcycles. Meanwhile, Thailand and others are charging much
- 5:51Speaker 1: higher prices, like sixty percent. India charges seventy percent, Vietnam
- 5:56Speaker 1: charges seventy five percent, and others are even higher than that. Likewise,
- 6:01Speaker 1: until today, the United States has for decades charged a
- 6:05Speaker 1: two point five tariff. Think of that two point five
- 6:09Speaker 1: percent on foreign made automobiles. The European Union charges US
- 6:14Speaker 1: more than ten percent tariffs, and they have twenty percent
- 6:19Speaker 1: vats much much higher. India charges seventy percent, and perhaps
- 6:24Speaker 1: worst of all, of the non monetary restrictions imposed by
- 6:27Speaker 1: South Korea, Japan, and very many other nations.
- 6:30Speaker 2: As a result of these colossal trade.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Barriers, eighty one percent of the cars in South care
- 6:37Speaker 1: are made in South Korea. Ninety four percent of the
- 6:40Speaker 1: cars in Japan are made in Japan. Toyota sells one
- 6:45Speaker 1: million foreign made automobiles into the United States, and general
- 6:49Speaker 1: motor cells almost none.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Ford sells very little.
- 6:53Speaker 1: None of our companies are allowed to go into other countries.
- 6:57Speaker 1: And I say that friend and foe, and in many
- 7:00Speaker 1: cases the friend is worse than the foe in terms
- 7:03Speaker 1: of trade, but such horrendous imbalances have devastated our industrial
- 7:08Speaker 1: base and put our national security at risk.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I don't blame these other countries at all for this calamity.
- 7:15Speaker 1: I blame former presidents and past leaders who weren't doing
- 7:18Speaker 1: their job. They let it happen, and they let it
- 7:21Speaker 1: happen to an extent that nobody can even believe. That's why,
- 7:24Speaker 1: effective at midnight, we will impose a twenty five percent
- 7:27Speaker 1: tariff for all far and made automobiles.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Thank you, Brian.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I'd like to have you come up here for a second. Okay,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I just see him saying he's been a fan of ours,
- 7:45Speaker 1: and he understands this business a lot better than the economists,
- 7:49Speaker 1: a lot better than anybody.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Brian, say a few words. Please, would you? Thank you,
- 7:52Speaker 2: thank you. It's great honor to have you.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Thank you, mister president. I grew up just north of Detroit,
- 7:58Speaker 3: Michigan and McComb County, known as the home of the
- 8:01Speaker 3: Reagan Democrats. My first vote for president was for Ronald Reagan.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I thought that was gonna be the best president I
- 8:08Speaker 3: ever saw in my lifetime until Donald J.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Trump came along.
- 8:14Speaker 3: I have watched my entire life I have watched plant
- 8:18Speaker 3: after plant after plant in Detroit and in the Metro
- 8:21Speaker 3: Detroit area close. There are now plants sitting idle. There
- 8:25Speaker 3: are now plants that are underutilized. And Donald Trump's policies
- 8:31Speaker 3: are gonna bring product back into those underutilized plants. There's
- 8:34Speaker 3: gonna be new investment, there's gonna be new plants built.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And the UAW members and I brought twenty of them
- 8:41Speaker 3: with me, they're sitting right over here. We support Donald
- 8:45Speaker 3: Trump's policies on tariffs one hundred percent. So, mister President,
- 8:50Speaker 3: we can't thank you enough. And in six months or
- 8:53Speaker 3: a year, we're gonna begin to see the benefits. I
- 8:55Speaker 3: can't wait to see what's happening three or four years
- 8:58Speaker 3: down the road.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Thank you, mister President.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Thanks so much.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 9:03Speaker 1: What a great guy. He got it right from the beginning.
- 9:06Speaker 1: He got it before almost anybody else. This group over there,
- 9:09Speaker 1: they got it too. And you know, we won the
- 9:12Speaker 1: state of Michigan. We won almost all of them, but
- 9:16Speaker 1: we won Michigan by a lot.
- 9:18Speaker 2: And I want to just thank you all.
- 9:19Speaker 1: The auto workers were fantastic, the teamsters were fantastic. Everyone
- 9:24Speaker 1: who's pretty good, I will tell you thank you very much.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I appreciate it. You're going to be very happy very soon.
- 9:30Speaker 1: And you probably see what's happening with all of the
- 9:34Speaker 1: not only car companies, but car companies in particular.
- 9:37Speaker 2: You see it with.
- 9:39Speaker 1: All of the ones they're moving, they're announcing day in
- 9:42Speaker 1: day out.
- 9:42Speaker 2: You're seeing it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Nobody's ever seen anything like that. With today's actions, we're
- 9:47Speaker 1: also standing up for our great farmers and ranchers who
- 9:50Speaker 1: are brutalized by nations.
- 9:52Speaker 2: All over the world. Brutalized.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Canada, by the way, imposes a two hundred and fifty
- 10:00Speaker 1: three hundred percent tariff on many of our dairy products.
- 10:03Speaker 1: They do the first, the first can of milk, they
- 10:07Speaker 1: do the first little carton of milk at at very
- 10:10Speaker 1: low price.
- 10:10Speaker 2: But after that it gets bad and then it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Gets up to two hundred and seventy five three hundred percent.
- 10:15Speaker 1: So when they're figuring what's Canada charging, they say, oh,
- 10:18Speaker 1: about two percent three percent. But take a look at
- 10:22Speaker 1: what happens down the road when you look a little bit,
- 10:24Speaker 1: it's not a pretty picture and we don't like it,
- 10:27Speaker 1: and it's not fair. It's not fair to our farmers,
- 10:29Speaker 1: it's not fair to our country. And with countries like Canada.
- 10:33Speaker 1: You know, we subsidize a lot of countries and keep
- 10:36Speaker 1: them going and keep them in business. In the case
- 10:39Speaker 1: of Mexico, it's three hundred billion dollars a year, in
- 10:43Speaker 1: the case of Canada, it's close to two hundred billion
- 10:45Speaker 1: dollars a year. And they say, why are we doing this?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Why are we doing this? I mean, at what point
- 10:50Speaker 1: do we say you got to work for yourselves and
- 10:54Speaker 1: you got it. This is why we have the big deficits.
- 10:56Speaker 1: This is why we have that amount of debt that's
- 11:00Speaker 1: been placed on our heads over the last number of years,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and we're really not taking it anymore.
- 11:06Speaker 2: Through non tariff barriers.
- 11:07Speaker 1: The European Union bands imports of most American poultry.
- 11:11Speaker 2: You understand.
- 11:12Speaker 1: They say, we want to send you our cars, we
- 11:15Speaker 1: want to send you everything, but we're not going to
- 11:16Speaker 1: take anything that you have. Australia bands and they're wonderful
- 11:21Speaker 1: people and wonderful everything, but they ban American beef. Yet
- 11:25Speaker 1: we imported three billion dollars of Australian beef from them
- 11:30Speaker 1: just last year alone.
- 11:31Speaker 2: They won't take any of our beef.
- 11:33Speaker 1: They don't want it because they don't want it to
- 11:34Speaker 1: affect their farmers. And you know what, I don't blame them,
- 11:37Speaker 1: But we're doing the same thing right now, starting about
- 11:41Speaker 1: midnight tonight, I would say, And China charges American rice
- 11:48Speaker 1: farmers and over quota. It's called a tariff raid of
- 11:52Speaker 1: sixty five percent. South Korea charges fifty. Actually they charge
- 11:57Speaker 1: different from fifty percent to five hundred and thirteen percent.
- 12:01Speaker 1: In Japan, our friend charges a seven hundred percent, but
- 12:05Speaker 1: that's because they don't want to selling rice another Who
- 12:08Speaker 1: can blame them, Madam Secretary Agriculture, Great job you.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Did on eggs.
- 12:13Speaker 1: By the way, the egg prices came down fifty percent.
- 12:16Speaker 1: You got them down fifty percent once we got involved.
- 12:19Speaker 1: They were going through the sky, the egg prices, they
- 12:22Speaker 1: were going through the sky, and you did a fantastic job.
- 12:25Speaker 1: Now we have lots of eggs and they're much cheaper,
- 12:28Speaker 1: down about fifty nine percent.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Now, and they're going down further.
- 12:33Speaker 1: We charged two point eight percent for so many things
- 12:37Speaker 1: that other countries are charging two hundred percent, three hundred percent,
- 12:40Speaker 1: then four hundred percent for If imposing tariffs and protective
- 12:45Speaker 1: barriers made nations poor, then every country on Earth would
- 12:49Speaker 1: be racing to eliminate these policies, and China would be
- 12:52Speaker 1: the first online. They've run a very strong country, but
- 12:57Speaker 1: they're not first in line, and the American people are
- 13:01Speaker 1: paying a very big price. From seventeen eighty nine to
- 13:05Speaker 1: nineteen thirteen, we were a tariff back nation. In the
- 13:09Speaker 1: United States was proportionately the wealthiest it has ever been,
- 13:13Speaker 1: so wealthy, in fact, that in the eighteen eighties they
- 13:17Speaker 1: established a commission to decide what they were going to
- 13:20Speaker 1: do with the vast.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Sums of money they were collecting.
- 13:23Speaker 1: We were collecting so much money so fast, we didn't
- 13:26Speaker 1: know what to do with it.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Isn't that a nice problem to have?
- 13:28Speaker 1: What do you think, Marco? Good problem? Marco would love
- 13:32Speaker 1: that problem. But we don't have that problem anymore. But
- 13:36Speaker 1: we're not going to have it very much longer, I
- 13:38Speaker 1: will tell you. But they collected so much money they
- 13:41Speaker 1: actually formed a commission to determine.
- 13:43Speaker 2: What they were going to do with the money, who
- 13:45Speaker 2: they were going to give it to, and how much.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Then in nineteen thirteen, for reasons unknown to mankind, they
- 13:51Speaker 1: established the income tax so that citizens, rather than foreign countries,
- 13:55Speaker 1: would start paying the money necessary to run our government.
- 14:00Speaker 1: In nineteen twenty nine. It all came to a very
- 14:02Speaker 1: abrupt end with a great depression, and it would have
- 14:06Speaker 1: never happened. If they had stayed with the tariff policy,
- 14:09Speaker 1: it would have been a much different story. They tried
- 14:11Speaker 1: to bring back tariffs to save our country, but.
- 14:15Speaker 2: It was gone. It was gone.
- 14:17Speaker 1: It was too late, nothing could have been done. Took
- 14:20Speaker 1: years and years to get out of that depression, far
- 14:23Speaker 1: longer than even FDR had that office right over there
- 14:27Speaker 1: for a long period of time. The ramp system, it's
- 14:30Speaker 1: rather intricate, was built because of him, and every time
- 14:33Speaker 1: you walk up you think of him. And he did
- 14:36Speaker 1: a great job in many ways, but it lasted long
- 14:38Speaker 1: beyond his terms, as you know.
- 14:41Speaker 2: But it's not too late any longer.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And we're going to start being smart, and we're going
- 14:47Speaker 1: to start being very wealthy again.
- 14:48Speaker 2: We're going to be wealthy as.
- 14:49Speaker 1: A country because they've taken so much of our wealth
- 14:53Speaker 1: away from us. We're not going to let that happen.
- 14:55Speaker 1: We truly can be very wealthy. We can be so
- 14:57Speaker 1: much wealthier than any country, it's not even believe.
- 15:00Speaker 2: But we're getting smart.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Nearly a century later, in the face of unrelenting economic warfare,
- 15:06Speaker 1: the United States can no longer continue with a policy
- 15:09Speaker 1: of unilateral economic surrender. We cannot pay the deficits of
- 15:14Speaker 1: Canada and Mexico and so many other countries. We used
- 15:17Speaker 1: to do it, we can't do it anymore. We take
- 15:19Speaker 1: care of countries all over the world. We pay for
- 15:21Speaker 1: their military, we pay for everything they have to pay.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And then when you.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Want to cut back a little bit, they get upset
- 15:28Speaker 1: that you're not taking care of them any longer. But
- 15:30Speaker 1: we have to take care of our people, and we're
- 15:32Speaker 1: going to take care of our people first.
- 15:34Speaker 2: And I'm sorry to say that.
- 15:40Speaker 1: And today we're standing up for the American worker and
- 15:43Speaker 1: we are finally putting America first. In Sleepy Joe Biden's
- 15:54Speaker 1: last year in office, the United States hemorrhaged one hundred
- 15:58Speaker 1: thousand manufacturing jobs and the number was going through the
- 16:01Speaker 1: roof at levels never seen before. And our trade deficit
- 16:05Speaker 1: reached a record one point two trillion dollars, which is
- 16:10Speaker 1: unheard of since the beginning of NAFTA, the worst trade
- 16:14Speaker 1: deal ever made. It was a horror show. I was
- 16:17Speaker 1: able to determine it. They all said, you'd never be able to.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Get it out.
- 16:20Speaker 1: We had to get approval from Congress to get it terminated.
- 16:24Speaker 2: We had to live with that deal.
- 16:25Speaker 1: It was the worst deal, worst trade deal ever made
- 16:27Speaker 1: by far. But since the very beginning of NAFTA, our
- 16:31Speaker 1: country lost ninety thousand factories. Think of what that is,
- 16:36Speaker 1: ninety thousand. Think about putting a map up and putting
- 16:39Speaker 1: tacks on it. You wouldn't have enough room. Ninety thousand,
- 16:42Speaker 1: I said, is that possible? We had it checked four
- 16:44Speaker 1: different times and it was actually somewhat higher than that.
- 16:48Speaker 1: And five million manufacturing jobs were lost while racking up
- 16:52Speaker 1: trade deficits of nineteen trillion dollars. That was the worst
- 16:57Speaker 1: trade deal ever made. The result of these gigantic losses,
- 17:02Speaker 1: foreign nations now own twenty six trillion dollars more of
- 17:05Speaker 1: American assets than Americans. Think of this, than the Americans
- 17:09Speaker 1: own of their own foreign assets or other foreign assets.
- 17:14Speaker 1: The United States can no longer produce enough antibiotics to
- 17:18Speaker 1: treat our sick. We have a tremendous problem. We have
- 17:21Speaker 1: to go to foreign countries to treat our sick. If
- 17:23Speaker 1: anything ever happened from a war standpoint, we wouldn't be
- 17:26Speaker 1: able to do it. We import virtually all of our
- 17:30Speaker 1: computers phones, televisions, and electronics. We used to dominate the field,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and now we import it all from different countries. A
- 17:38Speaker 1: single shipyard in China now produces more ships every year
- 17:42Speaker 1: than all of the American shipyards combined. Think of that,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and it was a business that we used to dominate.
- 17:48Speaker 1: We used to dominate it totally. In short, chronic trade
- 17:51Speaker 1: deficits are no longer merely an economic problem. They're a
- 17:55Speaker 1: national emergency that threatens our security and our very way
- 17:59Speaker 1: of life if it's a very great threat to our country,
- 18:02Speaker 1: and for these reasons, starting tomorrow, the United States will
- 18:06Speaker 1: implement reciprocal tariffs on other nations. It's been a long
- 18:10Speaker 1: time since we even thought of that. We used to
- 18:14Speaker 1: think about it a lot. We didn't think about it
- 18:16Speaker 1: for many decades, and you see what's happened.
- 18:19Speaker 2: For nations that treat us badly.
- 18:21Speaker 1: We will calculate the combined rate of all their tariffs,
- 18:24Speaker 1: non monetary barriers, and other forms of cheating. And because
- 18:29Speaker 1: we are being very kind, we're kind people, very kind.
- 18:35Speaker 1: You're not so kind when you get ripped off with
- 18:37Speaker 1: your salaries. My autoworker friends and my teamster friends, and
- 18:41Speaker 1: all of the unions that typically voted Democrat. They're not
- 18:45Speaker 1: voting Democrat anymore because worker, whether union or non worker,
- 18:49Speaker 1: they're for the Republicans. Now, that's what happened. But we
- 18:53Speaker 1: will charge them approximately half of what they are and
- 18:57Speaker 1: have been charging us, so the tariffs will be not
- 19:02Speaker 1: a full reciprocal I could have done that, yes, but
- 19:05Speaker 1: it would have been tough for a lot of countries.
- 19:08Speaker 1: We didn't want to do that. I'd like to see
- 19:09Speaker 1: the chart. If you have it, could you bring it up, Howard.
- 19:13Speaker 2: This is our.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Great Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnick.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 19:21Speaker 1: So if you look at that China first row, China,
- 19:26Speaker 1: sixty seven percent, that's tariff charged to the USA, including
- 19:32Speaker 1: currency manipulation and trade barriers. So sixty seven percent. I
- 19:37Speaker 1: think you can, for the most part see it. Those
- 19:39Speaker 1: with good eyes with bad eyes. We didn't want to
- 19:41Speaker 1: bring the it's very windy out here. We didn't want
- 19:43Speaker 1: to bring out the big charts because it had no
- 19:45Speaker 1: chance of standing. Fortunately, we came armed with a little
- 19:49Speaker 1: smaller chart. So sixty seven percent. So we're going to
- 19:53Speaker 1: be charging a discounted reciprocal tariff of thirty four percent.
- 19:57Speaker 1: I think, in other words, they charge us we charge them,
- 20:00Speaker 1: we charge them less, So how can anybody be upset?
- 20:03Speaker 1: They will be because we never charge anybody anything. But
- 20:06Speaker 1: now we're gonna charge European Union. They're very tough, very
- 20:11Speaker 1: very tough traders. You know, you think of European Union,
- 20:16Speaker 1: very friendly.
- 20:17Speaker 2: They rip us off.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's so sad to see, it's so pathetic. Thirty nine percent.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We're gonna charge them twenty percent. So we charging them
- 20:25Speaker 1: potentially have Vietnam great negotiators.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Great people. They like me. I like them.
- 20:31Speaker 1: The problem is they charge us ninety percent. We're gonna
- 20:34Speaker 1: charge them forty six percent tariff. Taiwan where they make
- 20:39Speaker 1: they took all of our computer chips and semiconductors. We
- 20:43Speaker 1: used to be the king, right, we were everything. We
- 20:46Speaker 1: had all of it.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Now we have almost none of it.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Except the biggest company is coming in they're gonna have
- 20:51Speaker 1: We're gonna end up with almost forty percent. Leez Elden's
- 20:53Speaker 1: working to get their approvals and it's an amazing company,
- 20:57Speaker 1: mister way of one of the great cup of the world. Actually,
- 21:01Speaker 1: they're coming in from Taiwan and they're got to build
- 21:03Speaker 1: one of the biggest plants in the world. Maybe the
- 21:05Speaker 1: biggest for that, but sixty four percent, we're going to
- 21:09Speaker 1: charge them thirty two percent. Japan very very tough, great people.
- 21:15Speaker 1: And again I don't blame the people for doing it.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It's I think they're very smart to do it. I
- 21:19Speaker 1: blame the people that sat right in that Oval office,
- 21:21Speaker 1: right over there, right behind the resolute desk, whichever desk
- 21:25Speaker 1: they chose. Japan forty six percent, they would charge us
- 21:29Speaker 1: forty six percent, and much higher for certain items like cars,
- 21:33Speaker 1: you know, little items like cars, forty six percent. We're
- 21:37Speaker 1: charging them twenty four percent. India very very tough, very
- 21:41Speaker 1: very tough. They Prime Minister just left. He's a great
- 21:45Speaker 1: friend of mine. But I said, you're a friend of mine,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but you're not treating us right. They charged us fifty
- 21:51Speaker 1: two percent. You have to n'derstand we charge them almost
- 21:53Speaker 1: nothing for years and years and decades. And it was
- 21:56Speaker 1: only seven years ago when I came in. We started
- 22:01Speaker 1: with China, Georgia. We took in hundreds of billions of
- 22:04Speaker 1: dollars from China in tariffs, and they understood. Honestly, Presidency understood.
- 22:11Speaker 1: He said, look, I understand, and the other countries and
- 22:14Speaker 1: they all understand.
- 22:15Speaker 2: We're gonna have to.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Go through a little tough love maybe, but they all
- 22:18Speaker 1: understand they're ripping us off, and they understood it. Prime
- 22:22Speaker 1: Minister of Japan, Shinzo was Shinzo Abbi. He was a
- 22:29Speaker 1: fantastic man. He was unfortunately taken from US assassination. But
- 22:34Speaker 1: I went to him and I said, Shinzo, we have
- 22:37Speaker 1: to do something at trade is not fair. He said,
- 22:40Speaker 1: I know that. I know that, and he was a
- 22:43Speaker 1: great gentleman. He was a fantastic man. But he understood
- 22:49Speaker 1: immediately what I was talking about. I said, Shinzo, we
- 22:51Speaker 1: have to do something. He said, I know that, and
- 22:54Speaker 1: we've worked out a deal, and it would have been
- 22:56Speaker 1: a much better deal. But frankly, there were many years
- 22:59Speaker 1: left on the deal. Is made previous to my getting there,
- 23:01Speaker 1: but it was. It was something if you look at
- 23:05Speaker 1: Switzerland sixty one percent to thirty one percent, Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodi.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Who look at Cambodia ninety seven percent, we're going to
- 23:14Speaker 1: bring it down to forty nine. They made a fortune
- 23:16Speaker 1: with the United States of America, United Kingdom ten percent,
- 23:20Speaker 1: and we'll go ten percent, so we'll do the same thing.
- 23:24Speaker 1: South Africa, oh, sixty percent thirty percent, and they've got
- 23:29Speaker 1: some bad things going on in South Africa. You know,
- 23:32Speaker 1: we're paying them billions of dollars and we cut the
- 23:35Speaker 1: funding because a lot of bad things are happening in
- 23:38Speaker 1: South Africa. The fake news ought to be looking at it.
- 23:40Speaker 1: They don't want to report it. Brazil ten percent, ten percent,
- 23:44Speaker 1: Bangladesh is seventy four percent, so you see what's going on.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Pakistan fifty eight percent, Sri Lanka eighty eight percent. So
- 23:56Speaker 1: what we're doing is we're taking not the full we
- 23:59Speaker 1: could take the full AID eight Thanks a lot.
- 24:01Speaker 2: He's doing a very good job. How's he doing? All right?
- 24:05Speaker 1: I think you better take it with you. It's not
- 24:06Speaker 1: gonna last very long. He's gonna put it. It's gonna
- 24:09Speaker 1: follow you down with the wind. I brought a hat
- 24:13Speaker 1: just in case he got too windy. But here would
- 24:15Speaker 1: anybody like a hat I'm giving I'm not giving it
- 24:18Speaker 1: to a cabinet. I'm giving it to the auto workers,
- 24:26Speaker 1: thank you, fellas. Yeah, that's it, that's it. They deserve
- 24:33Speaker 1: it more than our cabinet. Our cabinet has plenty of hats.
- 24:38Speaker 1: But you see the numbers, The numbers are so disproportionate,
- 24:42Speaker 1: they're so unfair. At the same time, we will establish
- 24:45Speaker 1: a minimum baseline tariff of ten percent you notice that
- 24:49Speaker 1: on the chart, and that'll be on other countries to
- 24:52Speaker 1: help rebuild our economy and to prevent cheating. So we're
- 24:56Speaker 1: gonna have a minimum of cheating, and we're gonna be
- 24:58Speaker 1: very severe on the people so that at the gate
- 25:01Speaker 1: that watched the tariffs and watched the product coming in,
- 25:04Speaker 1: because there's been a lot of bad things happening at
- 25:07Speaker 1: the gate. Because the money is so enormous that you're
- 25:10Speaker 1: talking about, there's never been probably anything like it in
- 25:13Speaker 1: terms of the enormity, and there are a lot of
- 25:16Speaker 1: bad things happen at the people that do the check in,
- 25:19Speaker 1: and they're looking at ten year jail sentences if they
- 25:22Speaker 1: do play, we're going to treat them so good, but
- 25:23Speaker 1: if they cheat, the repercussions are going to be extremely strong.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Foreign nations will finally be asked to pay for the
- 25:31Speaker 1: privilege of access to our market, the biggest market in
- 25:35Speaker 1: the world, where right now the biggest market in the world.
- 25:37Speaker 1: We had a great country four years ago in terms
- 25:41Speaker 1: of the economics.
- 25:42Speaker 2: We were doubling up on China.
- 25:44Speaker 1: We were doing so well, nobody was going to catch us,
- 25:46Speaker 1: but so much of it slipped away over the last
- 25:49Speaker 1: four years under Biden. I campaigned on this policy throughout
- 25:53Speaker 1: last year and today. That promise was made, and it
- 25:56Speaker 1: was also a promise, as you know, that was kept.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Promises made, promises kept to any company that objects to
- 26:07Speaker 1: our common sense reciprocal tariffs again, reciprocal, back and forth,
- 26:12Speaker 1: back and forth, and were I call this kind reciprocal.
- 26:17Speaker 1: This is not full reciprocal. This is kind reciprocal. But
- 26:22Speaker 1: what we do is we cut it in half. We
- 26:24Speaker 1: charge them. My answer is very simple. If they complain,
- 26:27Speaker 1: if you want you're tariff right to be zero, then
- 26:30Speaker 1: you build your product right here in America because there
- 26:32Speaker 1: is no tariff if you build your plant, your product
- 26:35Speaker 1: in America. And we've seen companies coming in like we've
- 26:41Speaker 1: never seen before. Likewise, to all of the foreign presidents,
- 26:45Speaker 1: prime ministers, kings, queens, ambassadors and everyone else who will
- 26:49Speaker 1: soon be calling to ask for exemptions from these tariffs,
- 26:53Speaker 1: I say, terminate your own tariffs, drop your barriers, don't
- 26:57Speaker 1: manipulate your currency. They manipulate their currencies like nobody can
- 27:03Speaker 1: even believe, which is a bad bad thing and very
- 27:06Speaker 1: devastating to us and start buying tens of billions of
- 27:09Speaker 1: dollars of American goods. Tariffs give our country protection against
- 27:14Speaker 1: those that would do us economic harm. And many people
- 27:17Speaker 1: were looking to do us economic arm. Maybe not so obviously,
- 27:23Speaker 1: but they were doing tremendous economic harm. But even more importantly,
- 27:27Speaker 1: they will give us growth. These tariffs are going to
- 27:30Speaker 1: give us growth like you haven't seen before, and it'll
- 27:34Speaker 1: be something very special to watch. I am so looking
- 27:37Speaker 1: forward to Brian. It's going to happen even faster than
- 27:39Speaker 1: you said. You know, you might, you might say, but
- 27:42Speaker 1: it's already started. It's already started. Work's already begun on
- 27:47Speaker 1: plants all around the country. And you see that as before.
- 27:50Speaker 1: These are big rich companies. We have sixty one billion
- 27:54Speaker 1: dollars started on a big plant going up. It's going
- 27:58Speaker 1: to be announced over the next two days. And they
- 28:00Speaker 1: already started work. Many of these biggest, the biggest companies
- 28:03Speaker 1: in the world, they've committed.
- 28:05Speaker 2: To build, build to build. We're going to build, build, build.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Sir, And they came here to see me, and they
- 28:11Speaker 1: came wanted to know if they could.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Have a press conference. I do as many as I can.
- 28:14Speaker 1: I'm pretty busy trying to stop Russia and Ukraine and
- 28:18Speaker 1: the Middle East.
- 28:19Speaker 2: We got to stop that.
- 28:20Speaker 1: We're going to stop the hooties which were making tremendous
- 28:23Speaker 1: They like shooting ships down and out of the water
- 28:26Speaker 1: seeking chips. They get a kick out of it. But
- 28:28Speaker 1: they're not getting such a kick out of it now,
- 28:30Speaker 1: are they, mister secretary. They're not getting such a kick
- 28:34Speaker 1: out of that now. But here are just a short
- 28:37Speaker 1: list of some of the companies that have already announced
- 28:40Speaker 1: and committed to investment. And this is a company that
- 28:45Speaker 1: built its factories and its plants in China. Apple is
- 28:50Speaker 1: going to spend five hundred billion dollars. They never spent
- 28:54Speaker 1: money like that here, they're going to build their plants here, Soft.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Bank opened ai and Oracle.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Great companies are investing five hundred billion dollars.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Almost immediately.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Navidia, a hot company, is investing hundreds of billions of dollars.
- 29:12Speaker 1: They just announced TSMC, the biggest most important company in
- 29:17Speaker 1: the world of chips from Taiwan with no investment from US,
- 29:21Speaker 1: is investing two hundred billion. And they said the reason
- 29:25Speaker 1: was number one, the election of November fifth and Number two,
- 29:28Speaker 1: the tariffs. They don't want to pay the tariffs, and
- 29:30Speaker 1: the way they're not paying it is to build their
- 29:33Speaker 1: plan here. So we're going to go from almost no percentage.
- 29:36Speaker 1: We used to have one hundred percent of the chip market.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Now it's all in Taiwan. Almost all of it's in Taiwan.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Couple of other countries, but mostly in Taiwan. And think
- 29:45Speaker 1: of it, we had one hundred percent. We lost it
- 29:47Speaker 1: because of people in that office that didn't do their job.
- 29:50Speaker 2: They allowed it to be.
- 29:51Speaker 1: Stolen from us. Johnson and Johnson, Great Company fifty five
- 29:56Speaker 1: billion dollars, ELI Lilly twenty seven billion, Meta is investing
- 30:01Speaker 1: five hundred billion dollars. Wow, the MAC is investing twenty billion, CMA,
- 30:10Speaker 1: CGM twenty billion dollars. And then you have Merk and Clariers, Stilantis,
- 30:15Speaker 1: General Motors, Geererospace, Honda and Nissan, Hyundai are all putting
- 30:21Speaker 1: in billions and billions of dollars and they're committed one
- 30:24Speaker 1: hundred percent. So and we have never had We've never
- 30:28Speaker 1: had And this is after two and a half months.
- 30:30Speaker 1: This is not this is after just a short This
- 30:33Speaker 1: all took place as soon as we came out with
- 30:36Speaker 1: what everybody wanted to do. You know, I watched a
- 30:39Speaker 1: gentleman today on television, used to work with Leia Kokova,
- 30:43Speaker 1: respected automobile person, and he said, you know, because they're
- 30:47Speaker 1: asking people, they try and get as many negative people
- 30:49Speaker 1: as they can, but they can't find them too much.
- 30:51Speaker 1: It's pretty hard to find in terms of what we're doing,
- 30:54Speaker 1: especially when they see all this investment.
- 30:56Speaker 2: They said, So tell me, what do.
- 30:57Speaker 1: You think of what Trump is doing from the automobile standpoint,
- 31:01Speaker 1: He said, I can't believe it. Somebody is finally he's
- 31:05Speaker 1: an older guy, real pro, really top guy with Leiacoci said,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I never thought i'd see the day when this would happen,
- 31:13Speaker 1: where somebody had the courage to go and do what
- 31:16Speaker 1: has to be done. This is transforming our nation. Our
- 31:19Speaker 1: entire nation is going to be transformed, not only with
- 31:22Speaker 1: the cars, but on every single other item that's built.
- 31:27Speaker 1: We're going to become an industrial powerhouse. And he said
- 31:29Speaker 1: that so beautifully today. In fact, I'm going to find out.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I'm going to get a tape and Bruce, I'm going
- 31:35Speaker 1: to get that tape and I'm going to send it
- 31:37Speaker 1: to you out in Long Island and you're going to
- 31:38Speaker 1: play it for the people and all your union workers
- 31:41Speaker 1: and your non union workers out there.
- 31:43Speaker 2: You got a.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Pretty even split. But we have so far, it looks
- 31:49Speaker 1: like we're going to have about six trillion dollars of investments,
- 31:52Speaker 1: and you wouldn't do that in years in this country
- 31:56Speaker 1: over the last number of years. Six trillion dollars, and
- 31:59Speaker 1: that's going to be much higher by the end of
- 32:01Speaker 1: the year. And think of what six trillion dollars is.
- 32:05Speaker 2: You wouldn't have.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Even a small percentage of that under this other system.
- 32:10Speaker 1: We're going to be an entirely different country, and it's
- 32:12Speaker 1: going to be fantastic for the workers. It's going to
- 32:14Speaker 1: be fantastic for everyone. There will never have been a
- 32:17Speaker 1: transformation of a country like the transformation that's already happening
- 32:22Speaker 1: in the United States of America. It's an incredible thing
- 32:24Speaker 1: to watch, and it's incredible to meet with the top people,
- 32:28Speaker 1: people that you read about, very wealthy people, or people
- 32:31Speaker 1: that are great managers and executives and presidents of big
- 32:35Speaker 1: public companies, and to watch the enthusiasm they have now
- 32:39Speaker 1: that they didn't have. They gave up on our country,
- 32:41Speaker 1: they went to foreign countries and they built. Companies are
- 32:44Speaker 1: pouring into our country at levels never seen before, with
- 32:48Speaker 1: jobs and money to follow.
- 32:50Speaker 2: And it's really beautiful.
- 32:51Speaker 1: In the coming days, there will be complaints from the
- 32:54Speaker 1: globalists and the outsources and special interests and the fake news,
- 32:58Speaker 1: always fake news, will always complain, but never forget. Every
- 33:03Speaker 1: prediction our opponents made about trade for the last thirty
- 33:06Speaker 1: years has been proven totally wrong.
- 33:09Speaker 2: They were wrong about NAFTA, they were wrong about China.
- 33:12Speaker 2: They were wrong.
- 33:13Speaker 1: About the Transpecific Partnership, which would have been a disaster.
- 33:17Speaker 2: If I didn't terminate it.
- 33:18Speaker 1: If I didn't turn that terminate that United Auto Workers,
- 33:23Speaker 1: you would have had no jobs in this country.
- 33:26Speaker 2: You would have had no jobs.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I was all going to other countries in.
- 33:31Speaker 2: My first term.
- 33:32Speaker 1: They said tariffs would crash the economy. Instead we built
- 33:37Speaker 1: the greatest economy in the history of the world. And again,
- 33:40Speaker 1: I have great respect for presidency of China, great respect
- 33:43Speaker 1: for China. But they were taking tremendous advantage of them
- 33:47Speaker 1: of US.
- 33:48Speaker 2: And I commend them for that.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I say, hey, if you can get away with it,
- 33:52Speaker 1: that's okay. But you know, they understand exactly what's happening,
- 33:57Speaker 1: and they probably most of them are saying it's about
- 33:59Speaker 1: time they did something. But and they're gonna fight, and
- 34:02Speaker 1: they're gonna fight fair.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Everyone's going to fight. You know.
- 34:04Speaker 1: It's like I say to the leaders, Look, you got
- 34:07Speaker 1: to take care of your country, but we have to
- 34:09Speaker 1: start taking care of our country now. We can't do
- 34:11Speaker 1: what we've been doing for the last fifty years.
- 34:13Speaker 2: From the day of my election.
- 34:16Speaker 1: The stock market went up in my first term eighty
- 34:18Speaker 1: eight percent, with NaSTA going up one hundred and fifty
- 34:22Speaker 1: five percent, more than any president has ever had in
- 34:26Speaker 1: any term in office by far. And I think we're
- 34:31Speaker 1: going to blow that away. And maybe the numbers won't show,
- 34:35Speaker 1: but I think they're going to show much better than
- 34:37Speaker 1: even those numbers. But what you're going to see is
- 34:39Speaker 1: you're gonna see activity that empty, dead sites, factories that
- 34:43Speaker 1: are falling down. Those factories will be knocked down and
- 34:47Speaker 1: they're gonna have brand new factories built in their place.
- 34:49Speaker 1: And not only talking about renovating, they're talking about brand new,
- 34:53Speaker 1: the best anywhere in the world, the biggest anywhere in
- 34:55Speaker 1: the world. Have a friend who bills car plants, and
- 34:58Speaker 1: I said, I want to see the biggest.
- 34:59Speaker 2: And the best.
- 35:00Speaker 1: He said, well, we have to go to Mexico. I said, now,
- 35:03Speaker 1: I want to see it in the United States. He said,
- 35:04Speaker 1: we're not building them. And then this is a year
- 35:07Speaker 1: and a half ago, during the campaign, he said, we're
- 35:09Speaker 1: not building You'd have to go to Mexico. When I
- 35:12Speaker 1: was starting to decide to run, and I went to
- 35:14Speaker 1: number one in the polls very rapidly, I want to say,
- 35:17Speaker 1: I want to like, let's say, in the first in
- 35:20Speaker 1: the first hour, and then shortly thereafter it looked like
- 35:24Speaker 1: I was going to win, and the fake news was saying, oh, no,
- 35:27Speaker 1: don't do this. What they don't know is if I
- 35:29Speaker 1: didn't win, they would have really been in trouble because
- 35:32Speaker 1: nobody wants to read them anyway. But I tell you what,
- 35:35Speaker 1: when when it looked like I was going to win,
- 35:38Speaker 1: I announced that I was going to be doing exactly
- 35:41Speaker 1: what we're talking about today.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Great consistency actually because I've been.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Talking about it for forty years, but because I saw
- 35:48Speaker 1: what was happening forty years ago. If you look at
- 35:50Speaker 1: my old speeches when I was young, very handsome, my
- 35:55Speaker 1: old speeches, and that people would say it'd be on
- 35:57Speaker 1: a television show.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I'd be talking about how we.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Being ripped off by these countries. I mean, nothing changes
- 36:03Speaker 1: very much. The only thing that change were the countries.
- 36:06Speaker 1: But nothing really changes. But you know, it's it's such
- 36:09Speaker 1: an honor. It's such an honor to be finally able
- 36:12Speaker 1: to do this. If you look at China, I took
- 36:16Speaker 1: in hundreds of billions of dollars in my term, hundreds
- 36:20Speaker 1: of billions. They never paid ten cents to any other president,
- 36:25Speaker 1: and yet they paid hundreds of billions, so much so.
- 36:27Speaker 2: That Biden couldn't do anything.
- 36:29Speaker 1: They wanted to try and terminate it because he had
- 36:32Speaker 1: a very special relationship with China. You know what the
- 36:35Speaker 1: relationship was, he had especially, but the numbers were so big,
- 36:41Speaker 1: the numbers were so big that they couldn't do it.
- 36:46Speaker 1: So they did ease it up. They did things that
- 36:48Speaker 1: they shouldn't have done. They made it a lot more
- 36:51Speaker 1: comfortable for them, but they couldn't do it because the
- 36:54Speaker 1: numbers were hundreds of billions of dollars. And I did that,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and we were on our way to doing something like incredible,
- 37:02Speaker 1: and then we had a very bad election. Happened, very
- 37:05Speaker 1: bad election. A lot of bad things happened. So when
- 37:08Speaker 1: I said we've got to do it again. I said,
- 37:09Speaker 1: we have to make it too big to rig, and
- 37:11Speaker 1: we made it too big to rig, and we won
- 37:13Speaker 1: in records and it was a monumental win. And it
- 37:17Speaker 1: was such an honor to see so many of you,
- 37:20Speaker 1: like Brian and your friends here with us to celebrate
- 37:24Speaker 1: and to more importantly celebrate what we're doing, because that
- 37:26Speaker 1: wouldn't be a full celebration if we didn't do this,
- 37:29Speaker 1: Because this will be an entirely different country in a
- 37:32Speaker 1: short period of time. It'll be something the whole world
- 37:35Speaker 1: will be talking about it. The critics made the very
- 37:39Speaker 1: tired predictions earlier this year, but in February, core inflation
- 37:43Speaker 1: dropped to the lowest rate in four years, and the
- 37:46Speaker 1: price of eggs, as.
- 37:47Speaker 2: You know, just in a couple of in a month
- 37:49Speaker 2: and a half.
- 37:50Speaker 1: We were there for four weeks, and the first week
- 37:55Speaker 1: I got blamed for eggs. I said, I just got
- 37:58Speaker 1: They said eggs have gone up at like two hundred
- 38:01Speaker 1: and fifty percent and you can't get eggs, and they
- 38:04Speaker 1: were going crazy, and I said, I just got here.
- 38:09Speaker 1: And then we got to work on eggs. We got
- 38:12Speaker 1: to work on everything. In our great Secretary of agriculture.
- 38:16Speaker 1: You did a fantastic job. Brooke Rollins, you did a
- 38:19Speaker 1: fantastic job. And as I said before, the price of
- 38:23Speaker 1: eggs drop now fifty nine percent and they're going down
- 38:26Speaker 1: more and the availability is fantastic. They were saying that
- 38:29Speaker 1: for Easter, please don't use eggs. Could you use plastic eggs?
- 38:33Speaker 1: I said, we don't want to do that. We want
- 38:35Speaker 1: to and you really came through. It's an amazing job.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Thank you very much, Brooke.
- 38:38Speaker 2: You did great.
- 38:39Speaker 1: But likewise, an old fashioned term that we use, groceries,
- 38:42Speaker 1: I used it in the campaign. It's such an old
- 38:45Speaker 1: fashioned term, but a beautiful term, groceries. It says a
- 38:48Speaker 1: bag with different things in it. Groceries went through the
- 38:51Speaker 1: roof and.
- 38:53Speaker 2: I campaigned on that.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I talked about the word groceries for a lot. And
- 38:56Speaker 1: energy costs now are down, groceries are down. Ustling is
- 39:00Speaker 1: way under three dollars and people are beginning to be
- 39:04Speaker 1: able to buy things and live again.
- 39:05Speaker 2: We brought prices way down.
- 39:07Speaker 1: We created ten thousand already in a few weeks new
- 39:11Speaker 1: manufacturing jobs, and it was that took place in one month,
- 39:15Speaker 1: numbers that they haven't seen in a long time. We
- 39:17Speaker 1: had virtually no inflation. Under my term, we had virtually
- 39:21Speaker 1: no inflation for four years, but after transitioning over to
- 39:26Speaker 1: Sleepy Joe, it went from almost nonexistent to the highest
- 39:30Speaker 1: in the history of our country. They had the highest
- 39:33Speaker 1: inflation in the history of our country, brought up by
- 39:36Speaker 1: energy and bad spending and bad policy, and a lot
- 39:39Speaker 1: of bad things happened.
- 39:40Speaker 2: How about allowing.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Millions and millions and millions of people to pour into
- 39:45Speaker 1: our country with open borders where the it's so sad
- 39:50Speaker 1: to see even now, and I see our great Secretary
- 39:53Speaker 1: of you have done.
- 39:54Speaker 2: Stand up, please, Christy, stand up, CHRISTI.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Nom and Tom Homan, these the people are doing a
- 40:05Speaker 1: great job. But gotten them out in records. We have
- 40:09Speaker 1: problems with judges that don't want them to go out.
- 40:11Speaker 1: They want trend I I raqua and they want MS thirteen.
- 40:16Speaker 1: The most vicious gangs ever. Nobody's ever seen anything like it,
- 40:19Speaker 1: absolute killer gangs. They kill people that don't even think
- 40:22Speaker 1: about it, and we put them out. And we have
- 40:24Speaker 1: judges now, radical left judges that want to They don't
- 40:27Speaker 1: want them to go out, they want them to even
- 40:29Speaker 1: be brought back.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Let's bring them back.
- 40:31Speaker 1: You've done a fantastic job, and please thank everybody, Homeland Security,
- 40:35Speaker 1: thank everybody.
- 40:36Speaker 2: Appreciate it.
- 40:39Speaker 1: And we now have a border that's the best border
- 40:43Speaker 1: that we've ever had, even better than it was my
- 40:46Speaker 1: first term. My first term we did good, but this
- 40:48Speaker 1: one we really specialized it.
- 40:50Speaker 2: We've done really well.
- 40:52Speaker 1: And we had records then had with the best safest
- 40:55Speaker 1: border four years ago, were the best border there ever was,
- 40:58Speaker 1: and now we have you've actually matched it and done
- 41:02Speaker 1: even better.
- 41:02Speaker 2: And we're going to get it down the right way.
- 41:05Speaker 1: And we want people, by the way, to come into
- 41:07Speaker 1: our country, but we want to come in through a
- 41:09Speaker 1: legal process. We want them to come in legally. We
- 41:12Speaker 1: need more people. We need people to run these plants
- 41:15Speaker 1: and to help the ODO workers and the teamsters and
- 41:18Speaker 1: the non union people and everybody else.
- 41:20Speaker 2: But we need people on the farmers.
- 41:22Speaker 1: And we're going to let people come in, but they
- 41:24Speaker 1: want to come in, we want them to come in legally.
- 41:26Speaker 1: They have to have the capability of loving our country.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Not people that hate our country. We don't want them
- 41:30Speaker 1: in our country. And now we're going to pass the
- 41:34Speaker 1: largest tax cuts in American history, and that's where we're
- 41:38Speaker 1: relying on Mike and john Thune, and we will not
- 41:42Speaker 1: cut Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits, and the Democrats
- 41:48Speaker 1: will because if they got in, the entire economy would collapse.
- 41:52Speaker 1: This country is heading for a collapse under the people
- 41:56Speaker 1: that you saw. They were horrible. I think one of
- 41:59Speaker 1: the reasons people like the job. I have my highest
- 42:01Speaker 1: approvaliens because I think they're comparing me to the worst
- 42:05Speaker 1: administration in the history of our country.
- 42:08Speaker 2: So I appreciate that at.
- 42:09Speaker 1: Least, but Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and Senate
- 42:13Speaker 1: Majority Leader appreciate it. Mike john Thune have been fantastic,
- 42:18Speaker 1: by the way, but they've been working tirelessly on taking
- 42:23Speaker 1: the next step to pass the plan for our one
- 42:26Speaker 1: big beautiful bill. I'd like to name it that if
- 42:29Speaker 1: you can, one big beauty. I made that statement about
- 42:32Speaker 1: six months ago, and everybody calls it one big beautiful bill,
- 42:35Speaker 1: and it will be that. It'll have everything, the big
- 42:38Speaker 1: tax cuts and every incentive there is, and it'll be
- 42:41Speaker 1: uh fantastic. And by the way, for the cars, we're
- 42:45Speaker 1: asking for an interest deduction on the loan. So if
- 42:48Speaker 1: you build the car only in America, we do it. Brian,
- 42:51Speaker 1: if the car's not built in America, you don't get
- 42:53Speaker 1: the interest rate deduction.
- 42:55Speaker 2: But if you.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Build the car in America, if you buy a car,
- 42:58Speaker 1: if it's built in America, then you get an interest
- 43:01Speaker 1: rate deduction, tax deduction.
- 43:04Speaker 2: And that's a big thing. It's going to be a
- 43:06Speaker 2: big thing.
- 43:07Speaker 1: I think that's going to pay for itself very quickly.
- 43:09Speaker 1: That deduction never happened. We've never had anything like that before.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Somebody said, way do you get the idea? Because it's
- 43:14Speaker 1: so basic, you would think that would have happened a
- 43:16Speaker 1: long time ago. It never did, and I'm very happy
- 43:20Speaker 1: it didn't because now I can say that was my idea.
- 43:24Speaker 1: But we're going to get us closer to the debt extension.
- 43:28Speaker 1: We have to get the debt extension passed, and I
- 43:31Speaker 1: know you're going to be able to do that, Mike,
- 43:32Speaker 1: and it's very important that you do that and all
- 43:35Speaker 1: of the other things that the Senate Budget Plan gives
- 43:38Speaker 1: us along with working Because I know they're working together,
- 43:41Speaker 1: John and Mike, and the two bills are going very
- 43:43Speaker 1: well together. We need to get our shared priorities done,
- 43:47Speaker 1: including certain permanent tax cuts.
- 43:49Speaker 2: We want the tax cuts.
- 43:50Speaker 1: To be permanent, spending cuts, energy, and historic investments in defense, border,
- 43:56Speaker 1: and so much more. We're covering everything. These will be phenomenal.
- 44:00Speaker 1: There'll be no bill like it. It's going to straighten
- 44:03Speaker 1: One bill is going to straighten out our country for many,
- 44:05Speaker 1: many years to come. And we said, let's just do it,
- 44:08Speaker 1: and let's get it done. And some guys will love it,
- 44:11Speaker 1: and some guys will like it a little bit less
- 44:13Speaker 1: because they're not getting what they were exactly looking for,
- 44:17Speaker 1: but they're getting a lot. They'll never If we get
- 44:19Speaker 1: this done, it'll be the most incredible bill ever passed
- 44:23Speaker 1: in the history of our Congress and Senate and congressmen.
- 44:27Speaker 1: The senators and the congressmen, many of whom are here today, will.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Be very proud of themselves.
- 44:31Speaker 1: I really believe that it's going to set us on
- 44:34Speaker 1: a whole new prosperous path. We're going to cut spending
- 44:38Speaker 1: and right size the budget back to where it should be.
- 44:41Speaker 2: We're going to do that very strong.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Thank you, Rick, thank you, John, thank you. Oh look
- 44:48Speaker 1: at all of our senators over. Oh boy, that's a
- 44:52Speaker 1: nice group of people, But I won't like them so
- 44:54Speaker 1: much if they don't get this bill done out.
- 44:58Speaker 2: That's a great group and congressmen. Thanks, thank you very much.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I appreciate it tremendous people. The Senate plan is my
- 45:04Speaker 1: complete and total support, and the House plan likewise is
- 45:08Speaker 1: very similar. They're moving along pretty much at the same clip.
- 45:11Speaker 1: And as soon as you're ready, you'll show it to me,
- 45:13Speaker 1: and I'm sure it'll.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Have my support.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Mind.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Every Republican congressman and senator must unify. We have to unify.
- 45:20Speaker 1: We can't be separated. We have to get it done.
- 45:23Speaker 1: We have to get absolutely everything we can, and we
- 45:26Speaker 1: have to take care of the American people.
- 45:28Speaker 2: That's the only thing that matters.
- 45:29Speaker 1: We have to take care of the American people first.
- 45:32Speaker 1: We need to pass this bill immediately, get it done,
- 45:35Speaker 1: including debt extension. From this day on, We're not going
- 45:39Speaker 1: to let anyone tell us that American workers and families
- 45:42Speaker 1: cannot have the future that they deserve. We're going to
- 45:46Speaker 1: produce the cars and ships, chips, airplanes, minerals, and medicines
- 45:50Speaker 1: that we need right here in America. The pharmaceutical companies
- 45:54Speaker 1: are going to become roaring back. They're coming roaring back.
- 45:58Speaker 1: They're all coming back to our content because if they don't,
- 46:01Speaker 1: they got a big tax to pay. And if they do,
- 46:04Speaker 1: I'll be very happy, and you're going to be very happy,
- 46:07Speaker 1: and you're going to be very safe. We're going to
- 46:09Speaker 1: build our future with American hands, with American heart, American steel,
- 46:14Speaker 1: and we're going to build it with American pride like
- 46:16Speaker 1: we used to. We're approaching our one hundredth day as
- 46:20Speaker 1: president and have been given credit by a lot of people,
- 46:24Speaker 1: actually even some of the fake news can you believe it,
- 46:29Speaker 1: which in this case hopefully isn't fake, for having done
- 46:32Speaker 1: more in that time than any other administration in the
- 46:36Speaker 1: history of our country. In the first one hundred days,
- 46:38Speaker 1: I think we've had an amazing in terms of what
- 46:41Speaker 1: we've done, what we've gotten accomplished, like to see if
- 46:44Speaker 1: we can get that war ended and another war from
- 46:49Speaker 1: not starting in the Middle East.
- 46:51Speaker 2: We have to get Russia.
- 46:52Speaker 1: They're losing two thousand, on average, two thousand, five hundred
- 46:56Speaker 1: people that they young people soldiers Russian That two thousand
- 47:01Speaker 1: five hundred through some days, but on average, probably over
- 47:05Speaker 1: about one week period, it's two thousand and seven hundred
- 47:09Speaker 1: and twelve. They say they're losing those soldiers, they're dying,
- 47:14Speaker 1: they're being decimated, and they're not from our country. But
- 47:18Speaker 1: they're from other countries, but they're human beings. They're from Russia,
- 47:22Speaker 1: they're from Ukraine in this period, most of them.
- 47:26Speaker 2: And we're going to get it stopped.
- 47:27Speaker 1: It's a senseless war that would have never happened if
- 47:29Speaker 1: I was president, that it shouldn't.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Be allowed to go on.
- 47:36Speaker 1: And I think we're being given good cooperation by Russia
- 47:40Speaker 1: and by Ukraine, but we have to get it stopped.
- 47:42Speaker 1: It's humanity, it's humanity. It's a terrible thing. This will
- 47:46Speaker 1: be a very big moment. I think you're going to
- 47:49Speaker 1: remember today. It's going to be a free nation that
- 47:52Speaker 1: we're dealing with. We're going to have a very free
- 47:54Speaker 1: and beautiful nation. It's going to be Liberation Day in America.
- 47:59Speaker 1: And it's going to be a day that hopefully you're
- 48:01Speaker 1: gonna look back in years to come and you're going
- 48:03Speaker 1: to say, you know, he was right. This has turned
- 48:05Speaker 1: out to be one of the most important days in
- 48:08Speaker 1: the history of our country. God bless you, and God
- 48:10Speaker 1: bless America. Thank you, everybody, Thank you very much, Thank you,
- 48:15Speaker 1: thank you very much. Will everybody, He's gonna just give
- 48:48Speaker 1: you a little bit. He's gonna give you a little
- 48:52Speaker 1: bit of a briefing on what we're saying.
- 48:56Speaker 4: We have two documents prepared for the President's signature today.
- 49:00Speaker 4: Closes what's referred to as the the Minimus Loophole with
- 49:03Speaker 4: respect to imports from.
- 49:04Speaker 2: The People's Republic of China.
- 49:09Speaker 4: The other is the big one, is the Reciprocal Tariff
- 49:12Speaker 4: Executive Order that the President just spoke about at length.
- 49:16Speaker 4: This is obviously a huge deal, and it's been an
- 49:18Speaker 4: honor to be a part of your team getting this
- 49:20Speaker 4: ready for you.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Thank you. This is a big step. That's a ten.
- 49:48Speaker 2: That's a good one. Look, that's a good one. That's
- 49:56Speaker 2: a good one. Thank you. Thank you. Sue. Okay, thank
- 50:18Speaker 2: you very much. I'm gonna hand out these pens now
- 50:20Speaker 2: if I can come on over.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, thank you very much. Thank you.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Tell me anything it's not here. I never have
- 51:06Speaker 4: Sto
