- 0:20Speaker 1: as well. This is part of our News You Can
- 0:22Speaker 1: Use segment here at WYAD. A woman's body is always changing.
- 0:27Speaker 1: That means her bra should be able to keep up
- 0:29Speaker 1: with her body as well. This is why professional fitting
- 0:33Speaker 1: is so important. It's the easiest way to make sure
- 0:35Speaker 1: that a woman's feeling comfortable, supported, and wearing the best
- 0:39Speaker 1: bra for her body shape and her needs. Through Fit
- 0:42Speaker 1: for a Cure, Nicole and Susan G. Coleman are offering
- 0:46Speaker 1: complimentary fittings at more than 400 events nationwide this year
- 0:50Speaker 1: while giving back to critical breast health services. Here to
- 0:53Speaker 1: tell us more about it, we're excited to welcome Abby
- 0:56Speaker 1: Auer of Wacoa America, as well as Heather Quay, a
- 1:00Speaker 1: store manager at Wacoa. Abby, Heather, thank you so much
- 1:03Speaker 1: for the time. I really appreciate it.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Thank you for having us.
- 1:07Speaker 1: This is such an important topic, and I've heard this
- 1:09Speaker 1: from my mother. That's a good mom. It's always a
- 1:18Speaker 1: confusing conversation, but I get it. But Abby, I want
- 1:23Speaker 1: to begin with you. How does our audience know when
- 1:26Speaker 1: it's time for a bra fitting?
- 1:28Speaker 2: So, well, you kind.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Of hit the nail on the head as far as
- 1:32Speaker 3: talking about our bodies constantly changing as women. You know,
- 1:36Speaker 3: life happens. So we are constantly gaining, losing, going through menopause,
- 1:41Speaker 3: having babies, on a GLP-1, whatever it is. any sort
- 1:46Speaker 3: of weight loss by 7 to 10 pounds, you're going
- 1:49Speaker 3: to need to be refitted. Also, some key indicators for
- 1:52Speaker 3: when your bras are worn out are cups are gapping,
- 1:56Speaker 3: straps slipping off your shoulders, or the band's riding off
- 1:59Speaker 3: the back. Those are great indicators that it's time.
- 2:01Speaker 2: To be refit.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, Heather, I think that's why this conversation is
- 2:06Speaker 1: so important, and why I'm glad the two of you
- 2:07Speaker 1: are here, because I think This is not a conversation,
- 2:10Speaker 1: of course, like I said, my mother has mentioned it
- 2:12Speaker 1: to me with my dad. And we're just like, okay,
- 2:15Speaker 1: let's just go buy another broad. But, Heather, what happens
- 2:20Speaker 1: during a cold fitting, and how can a fit expert
- 2:24Speaker 1: help discover what's the right size?
- 2:25Speaker 2: So we do understand that this is important. you know,
- 2:29Speaker 2: a vulnerable experience for women. And a lot of women
- 2:32Speaker 2: put this off. And just like Abby had said, you're,
- 2:35Speaker 2: you know, your bra should not feel uncomfortable. If your
- 2:38Speaker 2: bra is starting to feel uncomfortable, it's time to come
- 2:40Speaker 2: in for a bra fitting. And we just, you're in
- 2:43Speaker 2: good hands. We create a very safe space. We're there
- 2:47Speaker 2: to listen to your needs, meet you where you are
- 2:50Speaker 2: and get you in the right size bra. And it's
- 2:55Speaker 2: very rewarding for us too, because most of the time
- 2:58Speaker 2: it Women are wearing the wrong size, so they are
- 3:02Speaker 2: so happy that their bra feels supportive, comfortable. They feel
- 3:07Speaker 2: more confident within themselves and also with the way that
- 3:10Speaker 2: they look underneath their– the way their bra looks underneath
- 3:14Speaker 2: their clothing.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And that's why I think in tying this into, of course,
- 3:17Speaker 1: our audience, we're familiar with Susan G. Coleman. But, Abby,
- 3:21Speaker 1: why is Fit for the Core a great reason to
- 3:24Speaker 1: take some time for yourself?
- 3:25Speaker 3: So while Cole has partnered with Susan G. Komen for
- 3:28Speaker 3: over 25 years doing these Fit for the Cure events,
- 3:31Speaker 3: and it's such a great opportunity for us as women
- 3:35Speaker 3: who do not typically take care 15 minutes for ourselves usually,
- 3:39Speaker 3: to come in, let us take care of you, be
- 3:42Speaker 3: refitted in a correct size and style for your body,
- 3:46Speaker 3: and walk out feeling fantastic. This is a great opportunity
- 3:50Speaker 3: to do that while also giving back to patient care
- 3:54Speaker 3: services through the Komen Foundation. It's a great partnership that
- 3:57Speaker 3: we have with them.
- 3:59Speaker 1: So, Abby, that's a great lead-in. And so, Heather, how
- 4:02Speaker 1: does participating in Support Student D. Komen help And how
- 4:05Speaker 1: can our audience get involved in it this year?
- 4:07Speaker 2: When you come in for a bra fitting during a
- 4:10Speaker 2: Susan G. Komen Fit for the Cure event, Walkhole donates
- 4:14Speaker 2: $ 5 to Susan G. Komen, 100% of the donations when
- 4:17Speaker 2: you purchase a Walkhole bra. And if you go to fitforthecure.com,
- 4:23Speaker 2: that's where you will be able to find more information.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And also there will be a store locator on there
- 4:29Speaker 2: to see if there's a Fit for the Cure event
- 4:30Speaker 2: near you.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Love it. And we're going to make sure we link
- 4:33Speaker 1: that website up as well, fitforthecure.com. Again, everyone, Abby, Heather,
- 4:38Speaker 1: thank you again for sharing this information. We're sure looking
- 4:40Speaker 1: forward to having the two of you back again. Thank you.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Have a good day.
- 4:44Speaker 1: All right. Thank you as well. And we thank your
- 4:47Speaker 1: audience for tuning in to another great segment of Conversations Live. Again,
- 4:50Speaker 1: part of a news segment here at WYAD. Until next time,
