- 0:00I was super worried to to hear that and, you know, really hope
- 0:04that he's he's OK, but just wanted to take a moment on the
- 0:07pod just to kind of recognize him because we'll never, ever
- 0:10forget, you know what he's done the United football and, you
- 0:13know, he's given me like the best moments of my life.
- 0:16But worrying times isn't it when you hear stuff like that about
- 0:19the great man. It took another 8 minutes I
- 0:22think for TV to actually get those angles of his fingernails,
- 0:26which are often, you know, trimmed and removed, raising the
- 0:30ball and going in. So just you need to get over it.
- 0:34How are we fellow Reds? And welcome to this Manchester
- 0:36United review of the match against Liverpool with me, Span
- 0:41and Chaz. Before we get into it, as
- 0:43always, if you subscribe, if you follow in a massive thanks.
- 0:47If not, what are you waiting for?
- 0:49Get involved, get subscribed, get following.
- 0:51We're on YouTube, we're on Apple, we're on Spotify, we're
- 0:55on all the socials. Come and join us.
- 0:57Come and join this carrot revolution as we March on to the
- 1:01Champions League. But yeah, we'd love to have you.
- 1:03So get get signed up. But Jazz the day after we beat
- 1:09in the scouses, the double S done, we've secured the
- 1:12Champions League, the six point gap between US and them in
- 1:16fourth. How you feeling?
- 1:18Perfect. Wasn't it an absolute dream?
- 1:20Right. Obviously it could have been a
- 1:21lot more perfect, but end of the day, like even the way it ended
- 1:26almost makes it not better. But just with it being menu and
- 1:29everything like that, this the week he's had and Oh yeah, just
- 1:32yeah, unbelievable. It's crazy how stuff like that
- 1:35happens and you know, he signed a new contract, the load to hype
- 1:38around him and then he gets you get us to win.
- 1:41Yeah, fantastic. Give them, give this ghost a
- 1:43little bit of hope and then take it away.
- 1:46Place it. Place it away in the corner.
- 1:50Beautiful, beautiful. We'll get into that.
- 1:51But yeah, I watched it in Bracknell and my wife's
- 1:54Southern. So I sat down there visiting a
- 1:56family in a pub, somehow surrounded by fake scouses.
- 2:01Literally I was the only one, me and this other fella that was
- 2:03just me and him, who United fans and I was.
- 2:05I thought, where am I? I'll be in Anfield.
- 2:08But I think it'd still be a bit of a mixed.
- 2:10And honestly, two of us in the pub and and loads of them as
- 2:15well. So it was even sweeter to win
- 2:17that because it would have been hell to lose.
- 2:20And when we were tuning up, I was flying.
- 2:22But when they pulled it back, oh, what's to get that that
- 2:26winner was, was was sweet as well.
- 2:28And I will, I said I would. I'll shout him out.
- 2:30Chris here is effectively my brother-in-law, Liverpool fan
- 2:34from down there with a very southern accent.
- 2:36You better United to win. Really.
- 2:39Could never do that. I mean, I'm being cheeky now.
- 2:41He did also bet on Liverpool to win in a separate bet.
- 2:44But I said to him you cannot be betting against your team.
- 2:47I had. I was trying to make it, I mean
- 2:49like, at least I won money type thing.
- 2:51Yeah, stopping the blow, I guess.
- 2:54And he and he did, to be fair to him, he did win with that, with
- 2:56that United bet. So yeah, but not as happy as us
- 3:00to get the win and all those things we've we've just
- 3:02mentioned. But in terms of our bets, we
- 3:04weren't miles off Jazz. But.
- 3:06No, we got the right amount of goals for us.
- 3:09Exactly. I we both won't be the three
- 3:12one. I went with Cesco Ahmad, Brian,
- 3:16I didn't put Jack Paul on the back, but did say Jack Paul
- 3:19would score. And you said similar.
- 3:20You said 31 as we mentioned Cesco Bruno Ahmad and and Gapo.
- 3:26Yeah. Yeah, no, obviously when I saw
- 3:28Ahmad was starting, I was like, well, that's that's that's a
- 3:30gonna. And I would have put in like I
- 3:33was almost tempted to point of a bit Al Makuna being the goal and
- 3:37then thinking that he'd come off and then maybe Alad would come
- 3:39on and replace him and get his goal.
- 3:42So yeah, we went a mile. We're 1,000,000 miles now and.
- 3:45This surprised me that CUNY started, but I was so happy
- 3:48because he's just. I mean, he's great to watch
- 3:51anyway, but he's a big game player, isn't he?
- 3:52So when I saw that he was starting, it gave me a bit of a
- 3:54lift. I don't know about you.
- 3:55Yeah. They say I remember the the game
- 3:58with the at that place, like I'd remember him like in the what is
- 4:03it 85th to like 96th minute. He's just kind of running
- 4:06out-of-the-box for the ball, drawing in fouls, like just
- 4:09getting stuck in and like people don't like people are all
- 4:13soldered in. But I think he's like class.
- 4:15And we said it before, just that he's a big game player.
- 4:17He knows what it means to get stuck in.
- 4:19He's got a bit of bite about him.
- 4:21Yeah, we've missed that. I think having that kind of a
- 4:22bit of arrogance, a bit swagger, but also that the fight as well.
- 4:27Yeah, Alo man's a belly in the pods.
- 4:29I think I was saying I want a little bit more from him, but
- 4:32I'm fully sold now. He's just he's such a Man United
- 4:35player. I love his arrogance.
- 4:36I love his celebration, which we're going to get from you at
- 4:38some point that he busts out. And I was buzzing to see.
- 4:43I thought in terms of the bet, I thought, OK, CUNY starting, I'm
- 4:46had to come on, maybe get maybe get a goal.
- 4:48But as we'll get into in a minute, it was kind of the
- 4:51opposite. But but yeah, and then I
- 4:53obviously got a Liverpool perspective because I was
- 4:56watching it with some of them and the amount of excuses.
- 4:59I had a message early on to say he's acts injured.
- 5:01Congrats on the win. And then it was look at how many
- 5:04kind of injuries we've got and it's not our first 11.
- 5:07How much money had those guys spent?
- 5:08And yeah, you can be. A title winning team last year
- 5:12and you spent 450 million on top of that?
- 5:15Yeah, all you all you got rid of was Trent, who isn't like a
- 5:18defensive super superstar. He's got a deep and decent pass
- 5:22on him. But like, yeah, like if we spent
- 5:25450 million like this summer, I'd hope to be performing better
- 5:29than they are this year. Like, I know, obviously, yeah.
- 5:31So I was out. Esac was out.
- 5:32Like, fair enough. But for example, the midfield
- 5:35was their starting midfield that I think they would play no
- 5:37matter what, which is massive. And obviously that keeper was
- 5:40missing. It wasn't like I didn't think
- 5:42that keeper played bad, wouldn't it wasn't even really at fault
- 5:45for any of the goals. So yeah, the excuses came out
- 5:49and as you probably saw as well with a press conference, buddy
- 5:52wins where I wins bag like quite in PSG games and like so
- 5:57apparently UEFA is against them. So is the Premier League,
- 6:01probably FA Cup as well. Everyone's against Liverpool
- 6:04apparently now. Now you're not winning and since
- 6:07you started putting your own stamp on a team and if it was a
- 6:09bar. Well, you've reminded me.
- 6:12So I didn't catch it in the pub because it was quite loud, but
- 6:15what was the thing at half time when slots giving it the giving
- 6:18it this was it 2 hour bench, did you see that?
- 6:21I think it was just like piped down basically because we're
- 6:25yeah, like I think he obviously moaning about a humble because
- 6:29he kept like get doing this and stuff.
- 6:31I think it was just a bit of follow on from that.
- 6:34Do you see this slobber slide thing?
- 6:36Have you seen that? So as he's walking down the
- 6:38tunnel after we've won, he's pointing at the Premier League
- 6:41badge. Like they obviously got a gold
- 6:43badge and it's like, mate, you've, you've won two of them.
- 6:45This is in, we've got 13. If you're pointing purely at the
- 6:49Premier League that is. And then also, mate, you've had
- 6:52the the worst defence of a title ever.
- 6:55Like obviously we defended the title, but it was a different
- 6:58manager. We fell off massively.
- 6:59Like accept that. But you had the same manager and
- 7:02you spent 450 million and you're finishing fifth or 4 probably.
- 7:06But like, and then you're pointing the badge just like
- 7:09mate, think about it a little bit.
- 7:13I love it. I love this energy.
- 7:15Today he's back. He's fighting for it and he's
- 7:17he's going for the scouts. Like that is.
- 7:20That is horrible. Yeah.
- 7:22And you still can't say it's on the sly, like I can't either.
- 7:27Right. Let's get into it then.
- 7:28So we're buzzing. We're fairly happy to beat them.
- 7:31I've already mentioned Chris is ridiculous bet and against his
- 7:35team. But yeah, really good start from
- 7:38United. I mean a fantastic first half,
- 7:40but. Yeah, yeah, keep like, yeah,
- 7:44everyone was on it start like from basically from me at one.
- 7:48I pretty much after our second goal was maybe when it dipped
- 7:52off a little bit, but before that it was like Ukraine, lots
- 7:56of chances. Obviously the goals were a bit
- 7:58more like kind of a bit fluky, but the other we probably should
- 8:01have scored other chances. I thought like obviously we're
- 8:05big Cesco fans, but I thought he was probably maybe at his best
- 8:08game for us. Just putting himself out there
- 8:12like great runs, like being a bit more aggressive is what we
- 8:14wanted from him. I thought he was class.
- 8:16I thought also he was we'll get to the second-half.
- 8:19I think him going off is a massive part of that kind of
- 8:23crazy 10 minutes. But I just thought, yeah, it's
- 8:25best we'd started a game for for a while.
- 8:28Especially like it's similar to the city in the Arsenal games.
- 8:31Like we just went at it straight away and it was like, I think we
- 8:35kind of shell shocked Liverpool a little bit as well.
- 8:38I just thought Carrie got it tactically right spot on as
- 8:41well. Yeah, you've nailed a few things
- 8:43there. And one of the things I'm loving
- 8:45the dynamic between Cesco, some of the younger players and some
- 8:48of the more experienced players like Cunya, like the
- 8:51conversation between them and the direction and giving each
- 8:53other is a really nice kind of balance.
- 8:56I really enjoyed that. And you've also just nailed
- 8:58carry got a spawn I've already seen since the win.
- 9:01Again, question marks over obviously the fact that we, you
- 9:04know, we went to and a lot and then we kind of went to two, two
- 9:08and again, question marks of whether he is the right man
- 9:10going forward. Like the reason why we came out
- 9:13and battered Liverpool in the first half was because of him,
- 9:16how he as up the players he's chosen, what he's done the week
- 9:19before. Like he's the one who's going at
- 9:22Liverpool and the game could have been out of sight.
- 9:24So yeah, stop working for faults.
- 9:27Like he's all he does. This man just wins.
- 9:29And yeah, he hasn't got two games a week at the moment.
- 9:32But if he's given the summer, he's also going to get more
- 9:37players, He's going to get a bigger squad.
- 9:38He's going to get a chance to rotate.
- 9:40Like right now, you know, he hasn't really got that depth of
- 9:42squad as well. And he's the one who's what?
- 9:46Can he do? It's not his, it's not his fault
- 9:48there's not more games. Like I know.
- 9:50He's basically won 10 out of 14, drawn 2, lost 2.
- 9:54Like it's a ridiculous record and people are just trying to
- 9:56pick folks like, oh, well, he went down to it next year.
- 9:58Well, how do you know that he's not a chance to do it yet?
- 10:00All you can do so far is what he's been doing and that's
- 10:03smashing it. So like, yeah, like you said,
- 10:05like no team, especially this this end of the season that
- 10:09dominates for 90 minutes and wins every single game really.
- 10:11Like, it just doesn't happen physically in the Premier
- 10:13League. And I just think he's doing,
- 10:16yeah, like you say, all he can. And we were playing really good
- 10:19football in the first half. And again, after that kind of
- 10:23mad spell in second-half, we start playing better football
- 10:25again and controlling it and passing around.
- 10:28I just think, yeah, you just got to give him credit.
- 10:30Like, stop trying to find negatives in what we're doing.
- 10:33Like, you just secured Champions League football.
- 10:34We didn't. I didn't think we're gonna get
- 10:37Champions League football. Like I was kind of like, it's
- 10:39probably going to be a Europa season, which is.
- 10:41Mad. Yeah, and we've we've done it.
- 10:44I canter as well, like finishing third.
- 10:47You thought maybe we'd straight there is probably what we
- 10:49thought if we're gonna get Champions League football, we're
- 10:50not like surging up six points ahead of 4th and 5th.
- 10:54Like just let him like bask in it a little bit.
- 11:00Yeah. And look, if and hopefully when
- 11:02we hire him, yeah, we don't have to go all Liam senior and give
- 11:06him a six year contract and you know, all that stuff.
- 11:09He deserves a proper contract and commitment.
- 11:11But yeah, I imagine just hiring at work and you've got this
- 11:14person in your exact company doing the job, doing an amazing
- 11:17job, but you're constantly thinking, yeah, but there's this
- 11:19other person in this other company who's done some other
- 11:21things like yeah, he's doing the job right now for you again.
- 11:24Really. Well, Yeah, yeah, look at all
- 11:26the scalps he's got in terms of City, you know, Liverpool,
- 11:30everyone he went everyone. Yeah, he's stopping the league
- 11:34since he giants. So yeah, I've just seen a few
- 11:36more podcasts, another channel just constantly just going Yeah,
- 11:40but I know I stopped with the part just behind it and and
- 11:43almost let's see what happens. But you're getting excited, but
- 11:47let's get let's get like it's in the moment a little bit.
- 11:49But we mentioned that mentioned that Mancunia, his goal, how
- 11:53technically good is it? Like his first attempts on
- 11:55target, it comes back out and then yes, to adjust and another
- 11:59fantastic finish. Yes, it has a deflection, but
- 12:02just don't even get it back in so quickly.
- 12:04It's just amazing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's he's he's
- 12:07class. Like I thought he played work
- 12:09really well today. And it's like because again,
- 12:13this the third goal is his little ball through to a grade
- 12:17in a class pass for Luke. Sure.
- 12:19We're also going to shout out in a minute.
- 12:21Yeah. So yeah, I think he's he's
- 12:23class. And yeah, like you said,
- 12:25technically to take that second shot kind of on the bounce and
- 12:28he kind of hits it down to the floor, which also helped it kind
- 12:31of get the direction put it in. Like yeah, he's just stuffy goal
- 12:34in terms because it's a direction, but he still hit two
- 12:37shots and target in two seconds type thing.
- 12:40Where someone else might just fluff that, download would just
- 12:43fluff that over the bar. Unless you mentioned it just
- 12:47now, the guy obviously I'm quite impressed with at the minute in
- 12:50terms of what he's doing at right back, but imagine if he
- 12:53could ship him with something and he gets himself in spots but
- 12:55that. One at the end, Oh my God, I'm
- 12:58like, oh, so I was like, why? Like there was 3/4 on three, so
- 13:02there was a spate I was like, and he's given to dollar.
- 13:05He wasn't the best position to be fair, but unless like they
- 13:08just fucking yeah, that was it. Doesn't he just died it?
- 13:12To download it yeah and you're a firm member of the right back
- 13:14union and like I said he's doing that bit well but he just in
- 13:17Easter he needs to get in some of these workshops with Bruno's
- 13:21and just learn how to finish because.
- 13:23He needs to be staying at the training, just shooting for an
- 13:26hour or something. Yeah, and let's get let's get
- 13:29straight into our second goal because we had a bit of fun with
- 13:32with some of our mates who were screaming handball and slot as
- 13:35well. Said if the changes guys.
- 13:40Literally it took another 8 minutes, I think for TV to
- 13:43actually get those angles of his fingernails, which are Austin,
- 13:48you know, trimmed and removed, grazing the ball and going in.
- 13:53So just you need to get over it. You know it.
- 13:57Woodman, I think you said wasn't at fault.
- 13:58He's come out, he's kind of flapped a little bit.
- 14:01And then Van Dyke's nowhere, as always, the most overrated
- 14:04defender in Premier League history.
- 14:06And Cesco's just got the important touch off his body,
- 14:09clearly. And then the tiniest thing.
- 14:12Yeah, that doesn't, you know, I think one of the guys I was
- 14:16watching with results, does he go in if he doesn't touch his
- 14:19fingernails? Definitely.
- 14:20What? Yeah.
- 14:21What is this? Also, I was thinking in the
- 14:24idea, I've not seen it. Obviously go got caught up in
- 14:26the fingernail drama, but I don't know if he was fouled in
- 14:31the the first leader. I think he was right now.
- 14:33I'd not be able to see it properly in there.
- 14:35Any other replays? They keep just showing the
- 14:37handball. I'm like, well, we maybe should
- 14:39have had a penalty before that anyway.
- 14:40If they were to just like that, then it's like, well, they
- 14:42probably should have gone back and checked that.
- 14:45But I think again, that really shows how Cesco's come on.
- 14:48He had that chance, got fouled. We sort of complained for like
- 14:52one second, then saw the chance. We still got back up and then
- 14:54came back in by behind there by was it Yeah, Van Dyke and then
- 14:59was in the right place and just improvised with his with his
- 15:02hip. So yeah, really impressed with
- 15:03him again. Obviously annoying that Bruno
- 15:05doesn't get the assist because of the Woodman touch.
- 15:09I feel like if it's like an on target shot and he gets
- 15:12deflected, it counts as a shot, a goal for the players had the
- 15:16shot on target. So I feel like it was an assist
- 15:18going. But yeah, he'll get it.
- 15:20Still will get the record. Yeah, I almost feel you should
- 15:23remove the goalkeeper from those kind of things because he's
- 15:25like, his whole purpose is to try and stop goals, right.
- 15:28So if he gets a touch on it, I don't think you should intervene
- 15:30with a with an assist. But yeah, it's mad.
- 15:32I again, I can't help mentioning that I watched it with Liverpool
- 15:35fans because it's given me such a different viewpoint.
- 15:37But it was a, there was a really nice bit of TV on Sky actually
- 15:40for that goal where they obviously went through all the
- 15:42offsides and like we were almost checking them together and it's
- 15:45perfect. It was like the first one bang
- 15:47on, not offside, the second one not offside.
- 15:50And then that, that penalty chance, I was like, yeah, that's
- 15:52definitely, you know, he pulled him back, but then you get the
- 15:55goal anyway. So if you want to, if you want
- 15:57to split fingernails, let's go back to maybe he was having a
- 16:00penalty and it probably would have been a red card as well.
- 16:02Yeah, yeah, definitely, because he was definitely through on
- 16:04goal. With where he was at.
- 16:06So yeah, we're having it. That was so good.
- 16:09That's so good. And then just a little moment.
- 16:12Well, I didn't like Kanate shoving Cesco into the Hardens,
- 16:16but not that one. I like a bit of a bit of a
- 16:19challenge, but that was a bit. He knew what he was doing there
- 16:21and he knows what Old Trafford is.
- 16:22The big ramp off. Yeah, didn't like that one.
- 16:25Did you see it? I like Cesco to just, I don't
- 16:29know if that's why he went off because I know Cesco in the last
- 16:35in the Brentford game, he was like, I remember at one point he
- 16:37slowed down and kind of his feelings growing a little bit.
- 16:40So I don't know if it was that or it was a bit of a knock from
- 16:43being smashed into the audience or not.
- 16:45I don't know. I guess we'll find out.
- 16:46But it sounds like from I think character after they'll be all
- 16:48right. And.
- 16:50That's games. I don't know if it was a knock
- 16:52or is that growing thing that he I think he had before like like
- 16:552 weeks or something because he wasn't apparently might not have
- 16:58been even been starting the game.
- 17:01Oh really? Yeah.
- 17:01He was like a fitness risk. But they started to play and I'm
- 17:04obviously very happy they did because I think, like I said, I
- 17:06think he was class in the first half.
- 17:08Yeah, it really was. It really was.
- 17:10Yeah. But I didn't like that.
- 17:11And then there was a really good chance for Bruno to to make it
- 17:16again, technically so good the way he guides that because I
- 17:19searched so difficult and it just goes past the post.
- 17:21Yeah, I thought I was in like, it's like a bit of a shinner,
- 17:24but he he scored that one with mission anyway before he does it
- 17:29on purpose. The shingle.
- 17:32So yeah, I thought I was in. I got guys kind of celebrated
- 17:35thinking I was just waiting for it to hit the background there
- 17:36and then. Yeah, just just why.
- 17:38But again, really good play, a decent ball in from from Brian
- 17:43as well. Yeah, He's not someone I
- 17:45mentioned later, actually, when we talk about players, but I do
- 17:47want to give Brian a bit of a shout out because I thought,
- 17:49yeah, again, he's not. He's not happening for him in
- 17:52terms of gold, the work he's doing.
- 17:56I really like it and it's coming, isn't it, with Brian?
- 17:59Yeah, I think so. I know.
- 18:00I think in these big games like that, work rate and drive is
- 18:05kind of massive. Like so even if you're not
- 18:08scoring goals or getting assists, but you're putting the
- 18:10work in basically from like a defensive perspective as well, I
- 18:14think he does that really well. So yeah, I think that's a worthy
- 18:17shout out. Yeah, it's such a good half,
- 18:20such a good half. I was so happy with it.
- 18:22Obviously I didn't want to get too carried away because, you
- 18:24know, you didn't know what was to come.
- 18:27And the only, the only disappointing thing was that it
- 18:29wasn't more than two, right? Yeah, exactly.
- 18:31Like if we'd gone in four up, I don't think Liverpool could have
- 18:36been like, how are they 4 up? I don't we we kind of battered
- 18:41them. Yeah.
- 18:43So yeah, I we, I messaged you say, oh, we need to this should
- 18:47be more and we should go on and win this.
- 18:49And obviously we did. But like I think I was
- 18:52expecting, I was hoping for like about to battering basically.
- 18:55Yeah, Can you imagine? That'd have been so good and so
- 18:58sweet to meet that there. But no, I guess then start the
- 19:01second-half. I saw that Amad had come on and
- 19:03at first I had no idea who'd come on for, I think your
- 19:07message or someone's message. Well, that kind of helped me
- 19:10know it was for Cesco. So yeah, we hope he's all right,
- 19:12because he had a really good first half.
- 19:14And I think that did that did change the dynamic.
- 19:19But unfortunately they got a goal, which we.
- 19:23Even had a chance before that, like in the wherever it was 46th
- 19:27minute or something. Like we had a decent little bit
- 19:29of play before. I'm a game when it's like like
- 19:34we just like that. I can't say his name anyway, but
- 19:38like fair play. Just slobbers like slobbers like
- 19:43because he actually had a lot to do still, even though I might
- 19:47played a little nice three ball for him, but he still had a lot
- 19:50to do and it was like a decent finish in a good room.
- 19:54Maybe yeah, they do order of McGuire or that I should just
- 19:59got out to him and tried to hit him before he got to the penalty
- 20:02area maybe, but I think they almost didn't think it was that
- 20:05much of A risk. I think McGuire had Dalla behind
- 20:09him but died didn't really come over.
- 20:11I said I laughed the space. I think I've kind of blamed
- 20:14Dalla more than McGuire for that, even though McGuire was
- 20:17the one on him because I think. Should have come in kind of
- 20:20supported, but he wasn't there. This said, the space was there
- 20:23for the shot and it was a really good finish.
- 20:25To be fair, he was probably their best player.
- 20:27I'd say yeah, I think he's a good player.
- 20:30That's honest. I think he's I think he's got a
- 20:32lot like a lot going. I think like you said, he
- 20:34ghosted past some of our players a little bit too easily really
- 20:37to get in space. And then he's always tricky.
- 20:39If you manage to get the ball through a defenders legs, it
- 20:41kind of unsettles the keeper and then it goes in the bottom
- 20:45corner to be fair. So that was a bit of a shame.
- 20:47But you are right, I guess the start of the actual second-half
- 20:50just before like goal fun day. It always got it always got an
- 20:53assist for us, didn't it, with one of it's a very strange,
- 20:56strange backwards header, which was which was mad.
- 21:01But yeah, so annoying to conceive, particularly early on.
- 21:03But then after that, there was that unreal better play from
- 21:06United and if that would have been a goal, that literally, if
- 21:10you remember, out the sky. The touch and also the finish.
- 21:15Oh, she was outside in the end anyway, but like if I hadn't
- 21:17gone in and it was then offside even absolutely gutting because
- 21:20that touch was unbelievable. And then tough that finish of
- 21:24like the back heel enough. The post if you've gone in, like
- 21:27it would have been more that I don't know.
- 21:29I must have been goal a season I reckon, if I would have gone in.
- 21:33I was gutty. It's like literally sorry,
- 21:35imagine. Getting assisted like that as
- 21:37well to equal the record, bring that down and then had a good
- 21:40ball in and just, I don't know, I care about how far offside he
- 21:43was, but. Yeah, I don't remember seeing
- 21:46the offsides. No good catch for me.
- 21:48Yeah, yeah, it definitely was always giving up.
- 21:51Not to be, not to be and a bit of a theme, but then we give
- 21:55them an equalizer like so poor. And look, I'm going to be
- 21:58chained to lemons here because he's literally been
- 22:00unbelievable. I think that's the first goal
- 22:02he's giving away, right? Yes.
- 22:04And look, when you play in that position and he's so good with
- 22:07his feet and he's takes some risks, it's going to happen.
- 22:10And it's a shame that it happened at that stage and it
- 22:12was just such a crap goal. Wasn't it?
- 22:15Literally just. Passed out and also it's even
- 22:17lucky that it kind of it passed out.
- 22:20They had still play two players and the Today was like nice to
- 22:23have interplay, but partly almost fellows been lucky that
- 22:25kind of. I don't know if it was a pass or
- 22:27a bad touch that went across to get, but then I think so this is
- 22:33what I was going to say with Ahmad coming on for Cesco.
- 22:37I wonder like because we were going a bit more long in the
- 22:40first half because you had that presence of Cesco and when there
- 22:43was like a bit of a high press from Liverpool, we would just
- 22:45play over the top. And that was working for us.
- 22:48And maybe because he wasn't on the pitch that we didn't do that
- 22:53as much. And that's where we kind of let
- 22:55me try that risky pass and obviously, yeah, awful.
- 22:59But maybe that's part of the, yeah, because of the tactical
- 23:02change, or not a tactical change, but because of it,
- 23:04because of that change, that maybe that goal wouldn't have
- 23:07happened, particularly if we were under pressure.
- 23:09It's 21. If your Cesco is up there, you
- 23:11might have got just lump it because just alleviate the
- 23:13pressure because it was just wobbled a little bit.
- 23:16So maybe that wouldn't have happened if Cesco was on the
- 23:18pitch. But it's fine because we won't.
- 23:22Yeah, it's a good point. I think that is where we've
- 23:24mentioned it before, but that's where we need kind of a Danny
- 23:27Welbeck type backup striker. So the because because at the
- 23:31moment if Cesco goes up injured, we have to change our playing
- 23:34style because we haven't got another Cesco type player.
- 23:37Whereas if we had someone who was a bit more like Cesco, we
- 23:41could still carry on playing the same way.
- 23:42Yeah, yeah, that was working. Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 23:46So, yeah, it's a good point and hopefully we kind of can address
- 23:49that in the summer. But like we said before, it's a
- 23:51tricky signing, right, because someone has to play second
- 23:54fiddle really to Cesco and be a be OK with that.
- 23:57That is why a Danny Welbeck at his age type player would, you
- 24:01know, he would be ideal. So we.
- 24:04Take Danny Welbeck type player. We just, we just love it to be
- 24:06Danny Welbeck. Yeah, now I just worry that
- 24:09we've, you know, wasted another year of not having him.
- 24:11So is he getting? Inside a two year deal anyway.
- 24:14Actually, I don't think he's going anywhere.
- 24:16Yeah, true, true, true. And then to be fair, Liverpool
- 24:19did have a spell. I wish you had Lennon's making
- 24:21that's kind of save on the line as well, which was.
- 24:23Good save from Van Dyke. Was it Van Dyke?
- 24:25Yeah, yeah. Well, he wasn't like, yeah, and
- 24:28obviously a little bit nervous, but then we had we had some
- 24:31chances. So we had the Castamero sold.
- 24:34Him I was like, that's it. He's been putting them away all
- 24:37season as probably that's probably an easier chance than
- 24:41most of the goals he scored the season.
- 24:43So yeah, he just put it straight down, down the middle basically,
- 24:46didn't it? Yeah, another great run though.
- 24:48Got in a great, a great ball for him as always.
- 24:51And I was like, he's gutted. But then man like Kobe Maynard,
- 24:56that is unbelievable. Like just any new contract
- 25:00committed to United play in the Scousers and what a finish from
- 25:05him. So yeah, and again, sort of shot
- 25:07him out just a little bit now just in terms of his all around
- 25:09play and we'll probably get on to him later, but he's just gone
- 25:12to another level and if he can add them then type goals to his
- 25:16game as well a bit more. I loved it.
- 25:18Jazz what did you think? Yeah, like I think he said in
- 25:22his contract signing that he wants to add more goals to his
- 25:26game and he's just done one. This weekend is just like even
- 25:29more perfect. But like, yeah, just I think
- 25:33most players would try and smash that and then it probably flies
- 25:38over the over over the bar or hits.
- 25:42Why is it pretty sub as I again hits some as like because he
- 25:46came in with like a flying tackle, which would put most
- 25:49people off I think as well. But to have that composure just
- 25:51to kind of place it into the bottom corner with that power
- 25:55from that that distance was just it kind of is him though, isn't
- 25:58it? It's just the kind of goal.
- 25:59He's it's kind of goes. He's been scoring like the ones
- 26:01against Leon, the one his Wolves.
- 26:02They're always kind of like edge of the box, such moments where
- 26:06you need like important goal, you score.
- 26:08He just scores important goals, isn't he?
- 26:09That's what he does. He does, he does, he does.
- 26:11I absolutely adored it. And I tried not to go too crazy
- 26:14in the pub when it happened because I like say, I was
- 26:16surrounded and I was like, didn't want to get up there.
- 26:18But it's just such a good feeling just watching do it.
- 26:21And then to run off when I was like coming.
- 26:23Go on, go on. Yeah.
- 26:25How are you feeling from that point with confidence to kind of
- 26:27bring you home? Are we still a bit a bit
- 26:29nervous? No, I was actually fairly all
- 26:31right after that. I didn't think they really
- 26:34threatened too much. The only one slight threat was I
- 26:37have to go on and react Rio because I thought he, he looks
- 26:42decent. He looks really good, to be
- 26:43fair. Like, yeah, he was a bit tricky.
- 26:44But other than that, other than him, he had one way, took it
- 26:47past down and cut in and that shot, it just went wide.
- 26:50And then another one, we kind of ran it out.
- 26:53Other than him, though, really it wasn't much.
- 26:55I wasn't that worried. I thought we were kind of off
- 26:58that equalizer. We actually started playing
- 27:00better again and creating more and we created some chances
- 27:03ourselves after that. Obviously, I guess they were
- 27:05kind of put pressure on, but I wasn't really, yeah, concerned.
- 27:09Yeah, I was a bit frustrated with Dallow because yeah, Rio, I
- 27:12thought he looks he's going to be a player, right?
- 27:14And he looks pretty sharp, but he very obviously loves to come
- 27:17inside every time. Yeah.
- 27:18Kind of showing in that. What are you doing?
- 27:21Like, yeah. Yeah, Exactly, Exactly.
- 27:25So learn from that. But luckily we managed to keep
- 27:29him quiet. He had a couple of chances.
- 27:31And then later on, obviously, he's actually came on for Cunha
- 27:35and Bruno going off. Loved it.
- 27:38Just loved everything that was about, you know, just a bit of
- 27:40shit housery in terms of taking his time walking off and then
- 27:43just pumping everyone. Understand to stand up for the
- 27:46first time, yeah, ever. Putting the prawn sandwiches
- 27:50down and then again, I'm going. But a lovely moment and just he
- 27:54deserves that kind of, you know, treatment, doesn't he?
- 27:56Because I also was getting it, Bruno, you know, like, you know,
- 28:00why is he whinging at players and all this kind of stuff?
- 28:02And I was like, don't even mention this man's name like he
- 28:05is. It's unbelievable.
- 28:07You would have him in your team in a heartbeat.
- 28:10I think Chris compared him to Luis Suarez.
- 28:12And I was like, this can't, this can't happen.
- 28:14This can't happen in terms of that hatred type.
- 28:17There's no way in comparing comparing him to him.
- 28:20He's not fighting people and racists he just made.
- 28:23He's actually with a whinge. He does, he does.
- 28:26And look, what he's done with that more recently is to turn
- 28:28that into other players around him stepping up and putting in
- 28:31really good performances. So Bruno, but to me was to win
- 28:36so important, so important to do that.
- 28:39Let's get into the players that we've not really mentioned or
- 28:42maybe let's echo some others. I thought let's send on a
- 28:46positive. There was some shaky
- 28:48performances and this is comparative compared to what
- 28:51I've done before for me. I'm not coming on like again.
- 28:55Obviously he gave that kind of ball away, straight away and
- 28:57still just want a little bit more from from his.
- 29:00Maybe his confidence has gone a little bit or maybe some of the
- 29:05Europa League long campaign where we games 60 odd games we
- 29:08had last year. Then I think combinations maybe
- 29:12just a bit tired. I think I think he'll be a more
- 29:15like Ahmad next season. I just think he's a bit like his
- 29:17confidence a little bit. But you still we still know as a
- 29:20player in there. And the important thing is that
- 29:22he works. He's a hard worker.
- 29:23He's not like he's not a guy natural type who spit his dummy
- 29:27always not going right. He keeps trying so, but yeah, he
- 29:31wasn't great, let's be honest. Yeah, but like you said, I think
- 29:35that's a great point around his, you know, how he's applying
- 29:38himself, you know, full responsibility for the mistake
- 29:40that he taught. And then, you know, he tries to
- 29:42react. He's just not really happening
- 29:44for him at the moment. But hopefully he just keep this
- 29:46going. And I'm going to say a very
- 29:48quick point. Obviously just lammons by his
- 29:50standards that he says he's unbelievable standards.
- 29:53Obviously a shame for him to make that mistake.
- 29:55But you know, he also made some important saves.
- 29:58He's probably 1 end players as well.
- 30:00He'll probably analyze that storm, watch after the game to
- 30:03go, you know, how do they do do that?
- 30:04What I do, yeah. You think you'll kind of learn
- 30:07from that. But then in terms of before we
- 30:10get into man of the match players, you want to shout out
- 30:12Jazz that didn't just make you man of the match.
- 30:15Yeah. I was going to say Luke Shore
- 30:17actually, just because I thought particularly going forward more
- 30:21so than anything, because I think he's been good defensively
- 30:25this year. He's obviously playing a lot, a
- 30:26lot of games. But I think I'd probably mention
- 30:28it on the previous pods. They hasn't really got the
- 30:30engine anymore to to overlapping runs.
- 30:33But I think he was doing that today.
- 30:34So maybe it's just because it's the Liverpool game and you're
- 30:35just a bit more fired up. But like obviously for the Kobe
- 30:38goal, trying to play that a great pass in to him.
- 30:41He was doing those overlapping runs quite a few times.
- 30:44So it was just nice to see. So I thought I'd show short as
- 30:47often. He didn't get many Pawness these
- 30:49days, so I think he deserved a little share.
- 30:53And then who else? I've already I think I've
- 30:56already mentioned Kunia and and Cesco.
- 30:58So yeah, they're probably the main ones over the match will
- 31:00matter match so. Fair, fair.
- 31:02Yeah, no, Kunia like you just because I love him.
- 31:07He suits those kind of those games so much and he's just
- 31:12scoring important goals, so I just don't want to take that for
- 31:14granted. The fight was brilliant, as
- 31:15always. Not going to take Bruno off for
- 31:17granted because you just know the, you know, does he ever
- 31:20played less than a I was going to say 7-8 maybe.
- 31:25Yeah, he's an 8 plus player, isn't it?
- 31:27Typically he's a 910 in terms of United players anyway.
- 31:31All right, let's get on to man of the match.
- 31:33And I'll be very surprised if we don't christen the same person.
- 31:37But go on, you go first. Slobber.
- 31:39Sly. Obviously.
- 31:43Obviously Kobe. And not, not just because of his
- 31:48his goal. He actually was playing like
- 31:51he's been in the other weeks, but he's even better today.
- 31:54Just like, again, we say all the time, but that's a press
- 31:57resistance that kind of more like dropping the shoulder, more
- 32:00like combativeness, just more of what he's good at and the extra
- 32:05bits he's adding to his game. But he's just so good on the
- 32:07ball and like, if you can add more goals like that as well.
- 32:11He had to be had to be mad much. Yeah.
- 32:13He was absolutely unbelievable. And now I'm like, obviously I'm
- 32:18not an England fan, but he must be almost playing.
- 32:21I don't think he'll start because of the way too Shaw
- 32:24plays. It'll be Anderson and Rice and
- 32:27Anderson's blast, and Rice's decent as well.
- 32:30So I think he probably won't get to start.
- 32:34But like, surely he's the next name on that midfield 2 now
- 32:38because he's just playing so well.
- 32:41And again, we've mentioned it before, but like, what the hell
- 32:44was Amarin thinking? Oh my God it's absolutely bad
- 32:48news. To think that he can't play any
- 32:50sort of role in your team is insane.
- 32:52Like he's him. I guess Bruno, then Casimiro.
- 32:57You probably have the top two since Carrots come in, but then
- 33:01you'd have Kobe straight after that and he could even get even
- 33:05get in a squad sometimes, which was absolutely lunacy.
- 33:10Well, yeah, no surprise, Kobe's mine as well.
- 33:12And you touched on some good points there as well.
- 33:14In terms of, yeah, as a England fan, I'm trying not to be Man
- 33:18United biased, but I would play him over Rice genuinely.
- 33:22I don't. I'd had, I do rate Rice, I
- 33:24really do. But I just don't think he's got
- 33:26copies got to have next to Anderson.
- 33:29And he will. Get the Arsenal fans angry.
- 33:33I would, I would genuinely. I think he just offers more than
- 33:36Rice offers and he's kind of proving that now.
- 33:39So for me, yeah, I would have I would have copy over rice all
- 33:43day next to Anderson. If you're listening to you.
- 33:47Sure, I'm sure he's I'm sure he's changing every now and
- 33:49then. He's a.
- 33:49Subscriber, I'm sure. And then you've raised another
- 33:52good point. Do you reckon Ameren watches our
- 33:54games? Because if he is doing, he must
- 33:57be borderline crying, right Thinking, I don't know.
- 34:01He's quite like a arrogant bloke, right, Right.
- 34:04Yeah, So he's probably just more like, why didn't they try like
- 34:09this for me type thing. Probably because you're playing
- 34:11a stupid formation mate. That's probably why.
- 34:15The last thing is that you think back and people were like
- 34:17starting to doubt Coby and like, oh, maybe he's not actually good
- 34:20enough and maybe like he's not doing it stuff in training.
- 34:23But what he's shown is that the only is he as good as he was
- 34:27when he was playing under kind of previous managers.
- 34:30But that is he was obviously listening to Amarin's criticisms
- 34:36because he's kind of positionally much better from a
- 34:38defensive perspective. He's he's more physical, he's a
- 34:43lot more combative. He's winning his duels.
- 34:45So that just gives me so much kind of more kind of aberration
- 34:50for him because he wasn't playing for half a season and he
- 34:52was still learning. He was still getting better and
- 34:54better even though he had no manager, had no faith in him.
- 34:57So if he we'd let him go in an absolute life sin.
- 35:03Can you imagine? Obviously you like going,
- 35:05actually go. And we're almost kind of
- 35:07relieved and laughing at what he's up to in other clubs.
- 35:10And we've just seen Kobe just go like this.
- 35:12Yeah, imagine what him in. Italy as well if he went to Napa
- 35:15absolutely bossing it. It won't be fair.
- 35:18I don't think it would be hard enough for him in Italy,
- 35:21genuinely. The pace for him would be so
- 35:23easy. I'm good.
- 35:25So yeah, we've made a couple of points, but I'm right.
- 35:27But I'm going to mention something.
- 35:29So he had a mare with the team he picked.
- 35:32He had an absolute man with copy.
- 35:34To be fair to him, we probably after looking back now, give him
- 35:38some credit for how he sets up in terms of he got rid of gun at
- 35:42you even got rid of Rashford out the door.
- 35:45He brought in, you know, in his watch.
- 35:47You don't know how much he's been involved, but you know,
- 35:49he's brought in Kunia, he's brought in and blame.
- 35:51All right. He's kind of he has made a lot
- 35:54of these changes and and all the stuff is going on around him.
- 35:57So I do feel that hopefully in our progression and if this
- 36:01becomes, you know, a title challenging team at some point,
- 36:04he's definitely made his mark for me.
- 36:06It just makes it more frustrating that he did a lot of
- 36:09good stuff and the one thing he did was just pick a crazy
- 36:12formation and refused to adapt because yeah, you know, imagine
- 36:16if he'd have actually just twigged at some point and gone,
- 36:18right? I know I've got a system and I
- 36:20know they brought me in to do a system, but it ain't working.
- 36:23And actually, this could work. And he tried it, didn't he?
- 36:27Against someone? We won.
- 36:29And then he went back. Yeah.
- 36:31So he's just imagine being that stubborn way you've done such,
- 36:34so much work and you've made some really good decisions and
- 36:38changes. Yeah, Yeah.
- 36:39And this the one thing you need to do is just just get away from
- 36:42yourself and just make, you know, pick a team that makes
- 36:45more sense for the players you've got.
- 36:47Yeah, he must kick himself when he thinks about it.
- 36:50But like you said, maybe he's just that stubborn there.
- 36:52He still sits there thinking, actually, if this was a 3340.
- 36:587:00 and 2:00. Yeah, so thanks, Ameren, for
- 37:01some of the stuff you did. But if you would have let Kobe
- 37:05golf, he would never would have forgiven you, never would have
- 37:07given you. All right, Kobe, what a game.
- 37:11Let's have a quick chat about the scouses and what you think
- 37:15about them. I thought first half they were
- 37:20pretty pants and then I think they only came back into it
- 37:24because it wasn't because of kind of pressure from them.
- 37:28And then wrapped me up because Ahmad was still asleep and made
- 37:32a stupid pass. And then Diamonds did the same
- 37:35thing. And then it became a bit more
- 37:38pressurized or became more pressurized after that first
- 37:40goal. But like, yeah, I wasn't
- 37:43impressed for them at all really.
- 37:46I think they were lucky to get it to three, two essentially as
- 37:48the whole game. It's a flattering score line for
- 37:51them. And I think like if you look at
- 37:55their squad, obviously everyone was fit.
- 37:57They still have a better squad than us.
- 37:59I just think that their managers being found out, he's not
- 38:04actually very good. Like he's just inherited clocks.
- 38:08Team made a tiny tweaks and in a title where no one else is
- 38:14playing well so you didn't really have any challenges.
- 38:17So he's never under any pressure and now Susie under some
- 38:19pressure. So even though they started the
- 38:21season pretty well, but it was scraping past every single game.
- 38:26So I think annoyingly, I think they have a load of money still
- 38:30to spend because they've been really well run for quite a
- 38:33number of years. Fair play to them.
- 38:37So I think they're gonna spend big again.
- 38:39If I was them I would. I'll be a little happier if Slot
- 38:44still in charge and they spend a load of money.
- 38:45If they bring in Jabby Alonso and spend a load of money and
- 38:48they have that squad they have, then I don't think it's sort of
- 38:52a fourth place will be their target again.
- 38:55I think you can see them as title challenges because they
- 38:57have got a decent kind of spying still.
- 39:00Yeah, and they agree with you on the squad, but I was thinking
- 39:02about this and I'm honestly not just trying to cause chaos
- 39:05there, but if you think about the money they spent, they just
- 39:07won the title. But if I do look at a combined
- 39:1011 now, let's let's go for it together quickly.
- 39:14So goalkeeper, we know Allison has been a great, but he's
- 39:19moving on to event. That's right as well.
- 39:20And we've brought with his whole career ahead of him.
- 39:23So Lamons, yeah, ankle right back the deal.
- 39:29Yeah, Robinson's off friend Pong.
- 39:31I don't actually think he's a right back.
- 39:34I'll be honest. Dallow, we know that we love him
- 39:36and hate him for different reasons.
- 39:37But defensively, I'm probably going Dallow over for important,
- 39:41right? Yeah, I I was annoyed when we
- 39:44didn't sign for him Pong because he was like where he was 32
- 39:48million or 35 million. And he actually hasn't impressed
- 39:52me at all this season. I've not watched those
- 39:53Liverpool, but he's not been they've not been great.
- 39:57He's not been great. So yeah, I'd probably you'd have
- 40:00to get with that. At least on this this season's
- 40:02form, Dallas has been one of our consistent performers, at least
- 40:06defensively. Not talking about issue yet.
- 40:10Centre Alps. So we've got Van Dyke and
- 40:13Kanate, which is there, they're established too.
- 40:16And as I. Guess fully fit what we say and
- 40:20we're saying Martinez and delict delicious.
- 40:25Yeah. So our Dells, what are you going
- 40:28for? So annoyingly you people will be
- 40:30like, I think this season and probably back in the last season
- 40:35on diet, he's been rubbish. Like he's not playing at a world
- 40:39class level. Like he's he's he's playing on
- 40:41reputation at the moment. And this whole thing, he's never
- 40:44been drove past because he never tries to tackle anyone.
- 40:46He just runs backwards. He's still a bit fast.
- 40:49He's made a lot of mistakes this season.
- 40:50So based on the season you, I would say you'd have.
- 40:55McGuire and Delict. McGuire and Delict.
- 40:58Yeah, I think McGuire deserves to be in there.
- 40:59And Kunatos shite. There you go.
- 41:04Right, All right. So we're having that left back.
- 41:07So for them, you've got Kirk Kest or yeah, Andy Robinson is
- 41:11off, isn't he? Yeah, he's spares if they stay
- 41:14everything. I'll Luke Shaw.
- 41:17It sounds already bad, but like, obviously you're gonna get a
- 41:21link, Shaw. There we go back five Man
- 41:24United, right? And now we're playing.
- 41:26They play too, like, like we do. They've got McAllister and
- 41:29Graffenberg honestly come out as Liverpool fans, come out as
- 41:33rivals. You ain't picking Grammar Birch
- 41:36over Catamero, no. And you ain't picking McAllister
- 41:39over Coby Maney. No, no, not chance.
- 41:43All right in front of that, they've got the slobber slide
- 41:49and normally they would have seller who's on his way out.
- 41:53We've got Cunha, Bruno and and Buemel.
- 41:58Yeah. So I would say to them obviously
- 42:01last year there's no conversation between and Wemo
- 42:04and Stella and just we're completely mental.
- 42:07Let's give them seller on the right.
- 42:09Yeah, because he is a great summers like good player.
- 42:13Bruno Fernandez, he's being picked all day.
- 42:15And then the. £125 million verts over Cunya?
- 42:20No thanks. No.
- 42:22Yeah, right. OK.
- 42:23So they've got a seller, They've got a seller so far.
- 42:25And then up front, they've got ESAC, which let's be honest,
- 42:29when they signed in 400 million, I was worried.
- 42:32But would you have he's a cover, Cesco.
- 42:35Well, I probably I wouldn't. I'd have.
- 42:43Yeah, to be fair, I would. I would, yeah.
- 42:45I think he's probably, if you obviously got a bad injury.
- 42:49I don't have any goals he scored, but I feel like he's
- 42:51scored more than Cesco. So maybe he he might have had a
- 42:57better season than Cesco if he hadn't got that bad injury.
- 43:00And so maybe you'd have him Cesco.
- 43:03But then going into next year, my head's thinking, well, I
- 43:08think Cesco's kicking on more, but I'll let him have a cube
- 43:12all. Right, big, huge.
- 43:14All right, fair play. They spent, how much have they
- 43:16spent? And we're giving him most alert
- 43:18who's about to leave and we're giving him Hugo like a TK and
- 43:23the rest is Man United. So it shows our recruitment as
- 43:26well. It's actually been pretty good.
- 43:28And there's lots of chat about them and what they did.
- 43:30And to be honest, in the summer everyone was like Liverpool for
- 43:33the title. Yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 43:36But when I was thinking about that combined 11, I was like.
- 43:38And then just a little chat about Anna slut.
- 43:40I don't know about you mate, but I hope he stays for 10 more
- 43:42years really. Yeah, yeah, he's his head's
- 43:46going as well, which I love. In press conferences, he's
- 43:50moaning lots, He's getting angry, which, yeah, that's the
- 43:53kind of stuff we're here for. So the hope these days, if I was
- 43:59a Liverpool fan, I think most Liver fans fixed me after
- 44:01yesterday, probably don't want him to stay.
- 44:04Yeah, I think, I think I read that they've had like meetings
- 44:07and they're doing planning with him in mind still.
- 44:10I feel like obviously I know he's won a title a season ago,
- 44:14but then if you're looking like objectively as a kind of
- 44:17Liverpool chairman, whatever you are, you go.
- 44:19Well, that was Pops team pretty much.
- 44:25And let's look at like City were off it, Arsenal were off it,
- 44:28everyone was off it and we obviously won the league so
- 44:31great. But we've then spent 450 million
- 44:35on his players and we've gone backwards by like 28 points.
- 44:40I think it is something like that.
- 44:41So, yeah, surely if you just look at it from a statistical
- 44:45perspective and also from a kind of the way he's behaving, sure
- 44:50you go actually that's just car losses because if you're going
- 44:55to let him spend another which pound, they are a couple 100
- 44:59million this summer. Like there's a good mergers,
- 45:03you're about to be free who come in and spend that money and
- 45:07there's still some very good players in that squad.
- 45:09So yeah, I think it's a it's a risk that I'm hoping they're
- 45:12going to take and keep keeping. I think, yeah, I think they keep
- 45:17him and then I think they start crap next season and the wheels
- 45:19come off and then he goes would be my my prediction.
- 45:24But yeah, let's hope the thumb sticks around a bit longer
- 45:26because I'm like, yeah, all right, let's look at the rest of
- 45:31the league and the rest of the game week as well.
- 45:33Split it up into three again. So relegation battle got
- 45:36interesting. So West Ham, we're up first.
- 45:39They got slapped 3 nil by a very impressive Brentford and then
- 45:44Spurs went to Villa Park and got A-21 win and Villa only just,
- 45:49you know, they just got that one.
- 45:50No, he's sick toward the end of. A minute, yeah, yeah, So big
- 45:55result. I think we I think we mentioned
- 45:56that there that Villa might have their eye on there, especially
- 45:59after losing the first leg, you know, might have their eye on
- 46:01that Europa League final. So probably a place Spurs could
- 46:04go, but I was looking at the fixtures for West Ham and Spurs.
- 46:11They've both got tough fixtures, to be fair, like so I still, I
- 46:15don't think it's done. I think there's going to be some
- 46:17slip UPS still because they both got hard games, but that is a
- 46:22big advantage. I think think initially you
- 46:24would have said supposed to go together and beat them away, but
- 46:28apparently it's quite I think Villa are just off off it.
- 46:32They're kind of pretty safe for getting Champions League
- 46:34position anyway and they are playing a semi final so I think
- 46:40that's probably more the reason they lost their home spurs.
- 46:46Have you seen all the memes about Villa ruining it for
- 46:48everyone behind the apparently Spurs beat them?
- 46:50Yeah, you're ruining our fun with Spurs by letting them get a
- 46:54win because you gave up. But yeah, on our side, let's get
- 46:56into obviously the top four or five battle.
- 46:59Obviously Villa dropping points again is brilliant because that
- 47:02means now we've opened up a six point gap to Liverpool and Villa
- 47:05in 5th and a three-game left and now Bournemouth are 6 points
- 47:10behind Villa. If they really really take their
- 47:13their eye off the prize then you never know, Bournemouth could
- 47:16sneak in if they're not careful because I mean it's a gap right?
- 47:19An issue. That they would have to lose.
- 47:21I mean, they've lost five in a row.
- 47:23I just don't know. I haven't seen you there playing
- 47:26to there. But yeah, I think, I think
- 47:30they'll be fine. Yeah, and then obviously we did
- 47:34the job of Liverpool, which is great.
- 47:35So it was just a fantastic weekend for us and looking at
- 47:38the table now it just feels feels nice doesn't it?
- 47:42But then done 2 above us, annoyingly.
- 47:43So to be fair, I thought it was actually a big win for Arsenal.
- 47:47Like not just to be full and but to beat them three nil.
- 47:49And I'm actually played well. He did.
- 47:52And. May I honestly think, you know,
- 47:55City played tonight against Everton.
- 47:56That's going to be tricky for them.
- 47:58You ever since always a hard place to go.
- 48:00Like I still think City are going to get it done.
- 48:03I think they'll win, but then while they go, they need to
- 48:05thing is that yeah, you said they have to.
- 48:08They got two games in hand for goal difference difference.
- 48:11So it might go down to goal difference.
- 48:15I think you were right the other day, yeah.
- 48:18I may. Everton are in 11th.
- 48:19If they win today, they go above.
- 48:22Brighton. You go above the goal, but yeah,
- 48:23the goal. Joint Joint Brighton.
- 48:25Giant jointly Brighton in eight. Both Chelsea.
- 48:28That's a math. So massive opportunity in it,
- 48:30Yeah, yeah. So they're gonna, they're going
- 48:32to be right up for it as well into those house, into the
- 48:34European places, right, Particularly with how things are
- 48:37shaping up as well. Yeah, I think it can go down to
- 48:398th or 9th I think at the moment.
- 48:41Yeah, yeah. Pillow win the Europa League and
- 48:44stay in 5th. Yeah, a few more games left and
- 48:48everything's pretty, pretty interesting.
- 48:50It's. Nice to have a bit of excitement
- 48:52in the league at the end of the season still.
- 48:54Yeah, definitely, definitely. But massive win and just wanted
- 49:00to end the podcast, mate on unfortunately, not a great tone,
- 49:03but this is more important than anything to me and I'm sure it
- 49:07is to you. Just before the game, I saw kind
- 49:09of a ping come through about Sir Alex Bergsen being rushed to
- 49:13hospital and just immediately panicked.
- 49:16And I forgot about the game. And I was on my phone looking at
- 49:20what I'd what I'd gone on. I don't know the full details,
- 49:23but what I heard was that he kind of was at Old Trafford, you
- 49:25know, doing his thing and then. He's in the tunnel he got.
- 49:28Yeah, he got looked at the tunnel in me and he got kind of,
- 49:32I think rushed was the quote I heard to hospital where, you
- 49:35know, he was looked over and everything as well.
- 49:38And it just it's hard and I never forget about him like he,
- 49:43I think I saw Steven Allison do a video this morning and nearly
- 49:46nearly did me genuinely like that.
- 49:48It was a tough watch because people don't maybe people do get
- 49:52it if they've, you know, got similar managers and stuff as
- 49:55well. And people might laugh at us for
- 49:57this bit. But like he is, you know, a bit
- 49:59of a granddad and more than that a bit of a God.
- 50:03And I'm not daft. He's getting older.
- 50:07We do know at some point, unfortunately, like with all of
- 50:09us, but you know, unfortunately he's closer.
- 50:11That day is going to come, never going to never going to be ready
- 50:15for it. And when you ask the fight this
- 50:16as well, it just brings it home. So I was super worried to to
- 50:21hear that, you know, really hope that he's he's OK, but just
- 50:25wanted to take a moment on the pod just to kind of recognize
- 50:28him because we'll never ever in our lifetime and I'll be passing
- 50:31it on to my family and all that kind of stuff.
- 50:33We'll forget, you know, what he's done for United football
- 50:36and, you know, for those he's given me like the best moments
- 50:39of my life. But worrying times isn't it when
- 50:41you hear stuff like that about the great.
- 50:44When you say when you first saw it and you read the headline and
- 50:46then obviously you read the articles and so it says it's
- 50:48like precautionary. It gives you more hope.
- 50:51But like, obviously when you get to that sort of age, then you're
- 50:55even small things can become big things.
- 50:56So you just got to hope that he's they, that he recovers.
- 51:00But like you said, it's. Yeah, he's absolute legend.
- 51:03Like every time everyone asks who would you have at your kind
- 51:06of perfect dinner table, he's always the first first name on
- 51:09the table. I think I've come close to, I
- 51:13mean, him a few times and never quite happened.
- 51:16So yeah, he's always a little person I'd love to have a
- 51:18conversation with. And it again, I'd probably would
- 51:20just freeze up and just say thank you or something like
- 51:23that. I don't know what I'd do, but
- 51:24just it'd be amazing just to shake his hand one day and just
- 51:27say thank you for the memory. Especially like obviously now in
- 51:30the context of how crap we've been since he's retired, it's
- 51:33like even more special what he did and what he did for us.
- 51:37And obviously we're that kind of generation where we we saw it
- 51:41all happen. So yeah, absolute legend.
- 51:44And obviously hope he's hope he recovers.
- 51:47Yeah, we've said it before me, I've never actually had the
- 51:50privilege of meeting him. And I do think about it like you
- 51:52as well in terms of I would love to, but I honestly think I'm
- 51:55just probably I'd freeze, maybe cry, maybe.
- 51:59I don't know what I'd do. But yeah, it would just be more
- 52:02of a thank you for everything, which probably most people kind
- 52:05of say to him. But yeah, just wanted to mention
- 52:08him kind of at the end is the most important thing.
- 52:11And sending our love and best wishes to Fergie.
- 52:14Absolute legend. And we wish him, wish him all
- 52:17the best. But yeah, what Fergie would want
- 52:20is a big three points over the Scousers, United, Yeah, United
- 52:26doing doing well as well, like a little bit closer to where they
- 52:29should be. You know, obviously next season
- 52:30we want to be looking even higher, but more results like
- 52:34that, please. But just let's leave it there.
- 52:37A good one, a good one. What do you guys think?
- 52:40What do you think of the game? Best memories of Fergie as well
- 52:43about them in the comments. Let's send some positive vibes
- 52:46his way. And as always, don't forget to
- 52:48like, subscribe, follow us on all the channels.
- 52:52We will catch you in the next one for a preview against
- 52:56Sunderland. See you then.
