- 0:05Allen and I'm the founder of self.com.
- 0:08They will be discussing solving Humanity's existential crisis,
- 0:13through the evolutionary development of Consciousness.
- 0:17I know that's a very challenging concept.
- 0:19We're going to delve in deep, is a lot of problems going on in
- 0:21the world right now to help us understand these topics.
- 0:24I'm excited to interview, Santosh krinsky.
- 0:28Make sure you have something to write with.
- 0:29We're going to be sharing A lot of information today before we
- 0:32get started, I want to take a couple of minutes and share some
- 0:35information on Santosh, Santosh Prince qi's, been studying.
- 0:39Three-hour been doze the life Divine since 1971 and we'll be

- 1:19education, which is dedicated to the work of integrating,
- 1:22spirituality into daily life. He resides with his wife karuna
- 1:26hope, I get the pronunciation right in Honolulu Hawaii.
- 1:30Santosh, welcome to Today's Show.
- 1:33Well, thank you. It's my pleasure to be here.
- 1:35All right, very excited. A lot of deep topics I want to
- 1:38cover today and we're going to delve in deeply, but the first
- 1:42thing I want to start with something, I mentioned terms of
- 1:44the broad topic, what is this existential crisis of humanity
- 1:50today? So let's take a broad.
- 1:51Look, what is that? Well, essentially, we're looking
- 1:56at A lot of changes that have taken place since the Industrial
- 2:02Revolution to the point where we are experiencing massive species
- 2:09die off on the planet. Yep.
- 2:12Sign it change the development of weapons that can totally
- 2:17annihilate Humanity, but even more Close to home.
- 2:25We have a very small percentage of people on the planet who
- 2:30live, like the greatest Kings or maharaja's in history.
- 2:35While billions of people are barely able to survive, we have
- 2:40a fresh water crisis, right thing across the world, we have
- 2:46a food crisis, we have a lot of tensions because of these issues
- 2:52that's leading to mass migrations and warfare and a lot
- 2:58of saber-rattling going on around the world.
- 3:00Now clearly Humanity has dozens of ways to destroy ourselves and
- 3:09the planet right now that we didn't have two or three hundred
- 3:13years ago and people are anxious fearful and confused about what
- 3:21to do about it. Because these are such massive
- 3:24problems. Someone mentioned to me just
- 3:27this morning that even Warren Buffett with all his billions of
- 3:32dollars says that he cannot solve these types of problems.
- 3:38And it makes him confused fearful and concerned.
- 3:43Thank you for mentioning that to me this morning.
- 3:47Welcome. It's interesting.
- 3:49There's no there's been no time in our history like this.
- 3:52Where we have, as you mentioned, just so many means of
- 3:55self-destruction self-annihilation like never
- 3:57before. It's amazing that we put
- 4:00ourselves in position but with that hopefully will be
- 4:03discussing today. Some things that we can do that
- 4:06individuals can do and we can do a society and Mankind to offset
- 4:11some of these challenges that we deal with.
- 4:12So I want to take a minute because I know one of the things
- 4:15you've done, is you focused on studying three-hour, been doze
- 4:19life and his worked, why is he important?
- 4:23Why is important in general? And how does some of his
- 4:25teachings applying? What we're going to be talking
- 4:27about today. Okay, well basically I should
- 4:31say I've studied a vast array of spiritual and religious
- 4:35teachings from around the world, Christianity Judaism Hinduism
- 4:43Buddhism along the way. So I'm not essentially limited
- 4:49there. Right.
- 4:50What I found in the work of Sri aurobindo was he integrated a
- 4:55lot of disparate facts that we do not Normally understand the
- 5:01common thread and showed that there is an evolution of
- 5:10Consciousness that has been taking place on our planet since
- 5:14its Inception, as a ball of fiery matter up.
- 5:20To the point that human beings came forward and people have
- 5:24misunderstood the idea of evolution.
- 5:27They think it's some kind of Situation where man descended
- 5:31from the apes or whatever. And whether or not that's
- 5:36physically true about the physical Evolution, more
- 5:42importantly, he speaks about an evolution of Consciousness,
- 5:46right? The Consciousness in matter,
- 5:50then the Consciousness in the vital force of plants and then
- 5:55animals and eventually the development of the human being
- 5:59The mental Consciousness and all of these things, systematically
- 6:04came forward and develop the forms that were able to hold
- 6:11that level of Consciousness. And at this point, we find that
- 6:16the evolutionary crisis is that we are applying to problems.
- 6:24We created with our mental consciousness Manage the
- 6:30material world and the vital world around us.
- 6:34But with the limitations of the mental Consciousness, we've
- 6:38created a hole for ourselves that we've dug ourselves into
- 6:43and SRI aurobindo point out that the evolution of Consciousness
- 6:48is not finished and that it is at times when Nature creates a
- 6:54crisis of Existential proportions that the next level
- 7:02of Consciousness must appeared and must begin to act upon the
- 7:09world or we wind up destroying ourselves.
- 7:14And so, I think that's the important aspect that SRI
- 7:17aurobindo focused on that really is something revolutionary.
- 7:25Albert Einstein said we cannot solve our problems with the same
- 7:29thinking we used when we created them.
- 7:33And that's why we're all confused and fearful nowadays
- 7:38because we keep trying to apply mental ideas and solutions to
- 7:44problems that now are far beyond what any mental solution can
- 7:50provide, which is why we have everyone shouting at each other
- 7:54and why we have gridlock in our society because we're all seeing
- 8:01one little piece of the puzzle and say.
- 8:03This is the solution. And in fact, all of them have
- 8:08limitations and weaknesses based on the limits of the mental
- 8:13consciousness, All right, let me delve a little deeper into a few
- 8:18things that you've said so far. So one of the challenges you
- 8:21mentioned in terms of trying to find a solution to, this
- 8:24existential crisis, is we really haven't evolved our level of
- 8:28Consciousness hasn't evolved yet.
- 8:30Is that the main reason that past Solutions past things that
- 8:34we've tried have failed or there are other there other aspects to
- 8:38it. Well, some of it is just we have
- 8:42used the mental power primarily to try to aggrandize ourselves
- 8:50materially and vitally. We use it to fulfill our
- 8:54desires, fulfill our greed. We don't even apply the mental
- 8:59Consciousness in a way that uplifts us.
- 9:03It basically, we tried to find ways to have more technology.
- 9:10The creation have more enjoyment and how to game the system if
- 9:15you will, right? Rather than understanding why it
- 9:19is, we are alive. And what it is.
- 9:23We are meant to do with our lives on this planet.
- 9:27If we think that the entire purpose of the creation of the
- 9:31universe is to eat drink and be merry.
- 9:37Well frankly, we Probably have to limited a Viewpoint about
- 9:42things. Alright?
- 9:43So in essence, it sounds like you're saying that this massive
- 9:48brain power and development. We've really been focusing on
- 9:52almost the pleasure. It's the kind of the, the
- 9:55physical Pleasures in most cases instead of understanding and
- 9:59taking into account the kind of the spiritual world and our
- 10:03conscious level of being that all this energy.
- 10:07But we have this brain power, but it's just used in.
- 10:09And one very specific focus and instead of using it, broadly and
- 10:14fix things for now in the future that is that an accurate view.
- 10:19That's one side of the picture and it's it's a good start but
- 10:26we're not limited to the brain power of the mental
- 10:30Consciousness, the evolution continues and new manifestations
- 10:38of Consciousness will evolve beyond the mental level and so
- 10:44there's two aspects to it. One is we're not using our minds
- 10:48to their optimum optimum potential.
- 10:51Secondly, we're not opening ourselves and becoming receptive
- 10:58to the pressure of the next level of Consciousness.
- 11:02That's trying to manifest in the world.
- 11:07We are capable of achieving that level through our development
- 11:17of, maybe we should go quickly into the evolution of
- 11:22Consciousness for a loan because without that we're sort of stuck
- 11:26here. Okay, let's focus on that.
- 11:28Okay, so, If somebody were looking at the planet Earth
- 11:34billions of years ago, they would have seen a ball of
- 11:38matter. They would have not seen any
- 11:40forms of life whatsoever. Yes.
- 11:43You fast forward several billion years and suddenly you see plant
- 11:48life evolving and coming forward out of matter, and if you keep
- 11:52fast-forwarding, you see, animal life coming and eventually you
- 11:56see human life coming with each level, you see Anu?
- 12:00Our of Consciousness, hmm. What's the material Level?
- 12:03Which is very much mechanical in nature, its atoms, and
- 12:09molecules, and forces of gravity and electricity, and that type
- 12:15of thing. At the plant and animal level,
- 12:19you begin to see a vital reactive force force.
- 12:22That has attraction and repulsion, and desires, and
- 12:28various needs. He's at the mental level, you
- 12:31begin to see thought developing and human beings.
- 12:36Begin to think about well why am I here?
- 12:39What is the universe about how to things work?
- 12:43The reality is it's like a seed of a tree.
- 12:47If you see the seed of a tree, it's a material thing.
- 12:52Nobody knows that encoded inside that seed.
- 12:56Is a big tree, right plant it, and give it the right
- 13:00conditions, the tree comes out of it.
- 13:04The world is pretty much the seed of development of the
- 13:10consciousness of the universe. You can say.
- 13:14And so we see first with the tree, some Roots appear, a
- 13:19couple of leaves appear, and then you get, then you get
- 13:23branches and you get eventually, the flowers and the fruits and
- 13:28the process of reproduction, the same thing happens with the
- 13:33plan. And that evolution of
- 13:35Consciousness. So we've seen the vital level
- 13:40come out. We've seen the lower mental
- 13:42level come out. We've seen flashes of a higher
- 13:45level of mentality, come out and some people over time have had
- 13:52experiences, spiritual experiences what they make all
- 13:56religious or Vision Quest experiences that show them, that
- 14:01there is another further reality. on what we can do with
- 14:07mental conceptualization and that is the first indication
- 14:13that another level of Consciousness is out there,
- 14:15waiting and striving to evolve and develop on the planet and it
- 14:22is a level that totally transforms the way we experience
- 14:27look at and respond to The issues of life.
- 14:33All right, that's interesting. I'm just going to thinking
- 14:35through the steps and where we are right now.
- 14:38So at this point, a smaller much smaller percentage of the
- 14:42population and I would argue that probably only last few
- 14:45thousand years of mankind have developed to this next level or
- 14:50are just beginning to develop this next level of
- 14:53consciousness. And from what you're saying is
- 14:57the expectations are that they'll be even more levels of
- 15:00consciousness that men will create and striped you.
- 15:03So, we're still at a point where perhaps we don't even know what
- 15:06our limits in terms of developing this Consciousness
- 15:08art, is that would that be an accurate view?
- 15:11Absolutely. That is what we're seeing here.
- 15:16Is that even in humanity, we have people who manifest some of
- 15:23the higher powers of the mind and we have some who don't who
- 15:28are living more or less a purely vital life, right?
- 15:32Maybe for reasons of opportunity or educational background or the
- 15:38stresses of just trying to survive in a harsh world because
- 15:43we found that people all over the world, when given
- 15:46opportunities have the capacity to develop their mental Powers.
- 15:53So it's not a matter. Or of one group or person is
- 15:57better than another but a lot of it is where they are, what they
- 16:01have to deal with, how they're given evolutionary
- 16:06opportunities, but then we see at the same time, not just these
- 16:11levels within mentality. But we see some people following
- 16:16a spiritual path. Following a deeper religious
- 16:19path as they are called too. Find out more to understand why
- 16:27they're here, what their life is about and how they can
- 16:30participate in that higher purpose.
- 16:33Huh? Okay, so I get it, would you
- 16:36would you say that people that are striving for those types of
- 16:40things? Have a better understanding of
- 16:42why we're here. I'm kind of a bigger world view
- 16:46are geared. More towards are moving more
- 16:49towards manifesting these higher levels of consciousness.
- 16:52Go to some degree. I would say that all of us who
- 16:57try to live a spiritual or religious life, or for higher
- 17:03things, have different levels of where we are in that realization
- 17:09and some have more understanding, some have less.
- 17:14Some like me have to spend 40 years studying one book to try
- 17:17and figure out what that book is about.
- 17:23You know, it's really it's really something.
- 17:27That is never-ending. We have stages of our growth and
- 17:33development and I can say that I feel like I've learned a lot in
- 17:3840 years to the point where I can say that I really don't know
- 17:43very much. There's a lot more to go.
- 17:49You know there's an old saying that the more you know the more
- 17:51you know that you don't know Well I would agree with that.
- 17:57You more learning about the stuff you don't know.
- 17:58So one of the things we want to focus on today was this concept
- 18:02is an existential crisis. What can we do about it?
- 18:06You know we haven't had the tools and have it haven't been
- 18:08able to kind of fix things, the problems are still there in
- 18:11there. In there worsening it can be
- 18:13argued that their worsening. What can you Manatee?
- 18:16What can you Manatee do to seek a solution for the kind of this
- 18:20this crisis of survival almost and And so, two broad questions.
- 18:24What can you manage to do? And then what could we, or
- 18:27should we as individuals be doing and we'll start with that?
- 18:33Let's start with that. Okay?
- 18:35Well, first, I was always impressed by a particular
- 18:39statement of Sri aurobindo is which I'll share with you, and
- 18:43that is to hope for a true change of human life without a
- 18:48change of human nature. Is an irrational and unspiritual
- 18:53proposition. And if we think about that for a
- 18:56moment, okay, we want to put a Band-Aid over all these
- 19:00problems. We have, we have plastic in the
- 19:04ocean, the solution, as well. Let's just clean up the plastic,
- 19:07or made me stop using straws or something that isn't solving the
- 19:13essential problem. We're still seeing the world as
- 19:20Individual fragments interacting with and fighting over the
- 19:25resources, and the opportunities of the planet.
- 19:29And we see ourselves as individual separate actors on a
- 19:34stage. In a hostile World, basically
- 19:41that Viewpoint is essentially a vital and mental viewpoint.
- 19:47A change of consciousness. A leads to a change of human
- 19:52nature and the essential. Change of Consciousness can be
- 19:56illustrated by back a few thousand years ago.
- 20:02Virtually all of humanity said that the sun revolves around the
- 20:08earth. The earth was the center of the
- 20:10universe, right? And everything was there for the
- 20:15Earth's benefit and then Along Came.
- 20:20Individuals and Science and they studied it and they said, well,
- 20:23actually the Earth revolves around the sun and it turns and
- 20:29that's what creates the phenomenon that we see
- 20:33differently. So if we apply that same logic
- 20:38to how we live in the world and the Consciousness we use, we say
- 20:44that the individual human being you and I are not the center of
- 20:50the universe. It's all not here just for our
- 20:54Vital and physical satisfaction, so when we see the image from
- 21:01the space station of planet Earth, And we see that it's one
- 21:07unified whole and not a bunch of different countries fighting
- 21:14with each other. Over resources, we begin to see
- 21:17the shift in Consciousness, that is both coming and necessary for
- 21:24us to change the way we relate to the problems.
- 21:27We are facing. We begin to see that we are part
- 21:30of a Unity. That has a larger purpose in the
- 21:34universe. Our Earth is part of a solar
- 21:38system with solar system. Is part of the Milky Way galaxy.
- 21:41The Galaxy is one of many galaxies and these many galaxies
- 21:46are part of a universe and some scientists, nowadays will tell
- 21:50you there are multiple universes.
- 21:53Is that all there so that we can enjoy our pina coladas on the
- 21:59beach in the evening. I don't think so.
- 22:02You see what I mean? Yes, so the essential change of
- 22:05Consciousness is to shift from An understanding of
- 22:11fragmentation and division to a vision and an actual experience
- 22:19of unity of all humanity and all the beings on the planet, you
- 22:25know, we could not survive without the trees on this
- 22:30planet. Even though we're cutting them
- 22:32down and burning as fast as we can.
- 22:35Because we are symbiotic to them.
- 22:39Think about that for a long time.
- 22:40We don't think about that. We think of trees as a resource
- 22:44ready, choose to be cut down to be utilized destroyed to make
- 22:48room for something else, but they create the oxygen that we
- 22:54need by breathing in the carbon dioxide that we excrete.
- 23:01So we and the trees are one symbiotic.
- 23:06Being you could say and trees means all the plant life,
- 23:10basically, essentially we can't live without them.
- 23:15They can't live without us. So why don't we recognize that?
- 23:20Why can't we live in that understanding of unity?
- 23:25When that starts to happen? Because I'm now going to answer
- 23:29your question. Okay?
- 23:31When that starts to happen, both on the global level and on the
- 23:37individual level, it changes our entire relationship to each
- 23:43other. And to the way we look upon the
- 23:46planet and suddenly, we realized that the other people on the
- 23:52planet are not our enemies. The planet is there to be shared
- 23:58All the people and all the beings and animals that are on
- 24:02the planet and to be honored and nourished and nurtured as our
- 24:06home, as part of our being from which we come.
- 24:12And at that point we're not fighting over how I can grab
- 24:17more but we're understanding how we can better apply the
- 24:23resources and not be wasteful and not be harmful planet to
- 24:28other people and our whole vision of how to create
- 24:32international relations. How to deal with our world, how
- 24:36to apply Science and Technology, all of that change.
- 24:42So then we come to the question. The second part of your question
- 24:46was well, what can I do as an individual?
- 24:51And there are several things these type of changes of
- 24:56awareness don't happen overnight generally or magically you know
- 25:03back in the 60s people thought they could take a pill and
- 25:07Achieve Cosmic Consciousness. Well okay they got an
- 25:10experiences. Something that said they were
- 25:13not stole fragmented individuals, but eventually they
- 25:18come down often now, deal with the fact that they still have to
- 25:23relate to their lives. Heard of it is to undertake the
- 25:29mental, and vital development, that we said was not fully
- 25:34developed earlier, so that we become more understanding and
- 25:41Appreciative. We begin to look for the unity
- 25:45and consciously relate to that Unity, wherever we can start to
- 25:50look at our opinions. Look at our desires.
- 25:54Look at our needs and try to make some adjustments to that.
- 25:59While recognizing that, that is not enough.
- 26:04It is eventually necessary for us to allow the next level of
- 26:10Consciousness, through Intuition or through whatever spiritual
- 26:16practices, One undertakes to begin to manifest within us.
- 26:22And that is a long lifetime process.
- 26:25The the sages, the rishi's, the spiritual, and religious leaders
- 26:30have all said that, know thyself, Be true to thyself,
- 26:36understand the Oneness of humanity.
- 26:40Those are words until we begin to actually practice them.
- 26:45And you start where you are, you know, they say that one, little
- 26:49Ripple can change the universe the butterfly effect.
- 26:54Well, what if a thousand people start trying to see the world
- 27:00from this different Viewpoint become receptive?
- 27:03Of to it undertake their own spiritual practices.
- 27:08And, and let me say this, it has nothing to do with a specific
- 27:11religion, specific philosophy, or specific practice, whatever
- 27:16people are doing to evolve, and develop themselves, is a
- 27:22positive Pursuit, and they should follow it and carry it
- 27:26out. We're not in opposition with
- 27:30each other as to whether we are believers in Buddha or Christ or
- 27:37Mohammed, or Krishna, or whomever or philosophers such as
- 27:43Plato or dink card. It doesn't matter.
- 27:47What matters is that we actually try to live that and Be
- 27:52receptive to new thoughts, new feelings, and new Inspirations,
- 27:59as they come. And what we see when that
- 28:02happens, the spiritual experience is described by the
- 28:08leaders. Of the world over centuries who
- 28:13have had these experiences. They tell you you begin to
- 28:16experience a force within you descending from above your mind,
- 28:23into your body and changing the way you react to things because
- 28:29it's not that we Separate fragmented individuals have to
- 28:35do this. We that's still the old mental
- 28:38Viewpoint, right? We need to allow the evolution
- 28:43that manifested matter life and mind to manifest the next level
- 28:51within the framework of who we are as human beings.
- 28:56And so we have to become receptive and we have to Again,
- 29:02to trust the inspiration that comes from that perception of
- 29:07unity. So let me just mention a few
- 29:11things that I'm hearing and I just want to kind of reaffirm.
- 29:13So it seems to me that in order to take on some of these bigger
- 29:19existential challenges that were talking about that, not only
- 29:23does identity as a whole needs to develop this kind of a next
- 29:26level of Consciousness. But all individuals should focus
- 29:31in their own way, in their kind of their own, their own world
- 29:34and developing themselves spiritually.
- 29:37And to work in developing their own personal level of
- 29:40Consciousness or greater level of Consciousness, independently
- 29:43of where they are now, so, whatever, whatever level we're
- 29:46on now, people should look to kind of expand their awareness
- 29:52and by expanding their awareness.
- 29:54It sounds like a big part of this is understanding kind of
- 29:58the unity of the whole world of how everything fits together.
- 30:03And I think you're writing, one of the things that you said is
- 30:05we tend to think Our own little space and are, you know, we're
- 30:09doing our own little piece and we can just get our piece of the
- 30:12world and let's take what we can.
- 30:14But based on the interactions you're talking about this, just
- 30:19too many factors at play and we're all working together.
- 30:21It's kind of an interlocked system.
- 30:24So whether you might think that you're sitting there and
- 30:27isolated position and you just doing your own piece of the
- 30:29world, but in essence, we're all locked together.
- 30:31Is that is that an accurate assessment of some of your
- 30:35views? To a great degree.
- 30:38I would only say that I don't expect that every individual on
- 30:45the planet will get to the same place at the same time.
- 30:50That's not that's not a necessary Factor, you know
- 30:56there's a concept in logging called the t log.
- 31:00When they're cutting down trees and come into a river of to move
- 31:06them somewhere. They get blocked and an expert
- 31:12in logging. Can go and find the One log that
- 31:15when it's moved, allows the entire flow to take place,
- 31:20right? And so we have a key log that we
- 31:25need to understand in our lives. Mmm, that will allow this new
- 31:31Consciousness to pour forth. And so most of that is related
- 31:38to Simply our preconceived habits and Notions about what
- 31:45our life is that we've been indoctrinated to believe that we
- 31:49get bombarded with every day in the media.
- 31:53And it's really hard for any individual to get bombarded with
- 31:58that m. Still keep some sense of a
- 32:04larger purpose. So you know, people like for
- 32:10instance, his Holiness, the Dalai Lama will say, whatever
- 32:15the teachings are my teaching is love and compassion.
- 32:20And others will say well it's having gratitude.
- 32:25These are emotions and feelings that open the being and make us
- 32:31more human. Give us more relationship to one
- 32:35another more understanding, more appreciation.
- 32:39And really, at this stage, that's the key log.
- 32:44We need to move people away from Material gratification.
- 32:50presentation, as their purpose to appreciating, the Wonder the
- 32:56Beauty and the harmony of the world through compassion, love
- 33:04gratitude, and reaching out to others and Building Bridges
- 33:10rather than setting up walls and putting us behind the walls with
- 33:15Weaponry to Fight off. Everybody else what you just
- 33:21said was very powerful in that for me it's summed up a lot of
- 33:25what you're saying. And a lot of what we need to do
- 33:26is a people where you started out by saying, we need to move
- 33:30away from this occupation with materialism and consumerism and
- 33:35we need to make a guess a conscious effort to moving away
- 33:39from me. And that's it.
- 33:40That's a big change because I think of how the world runs and
- 33:43it's driven part of the challenge you talking about
- 33:46Marshall. Sizing in the message, we're
- 33:48getting, it's driven by the materialism consumerism, so it's
- 33:54almost looking at and saying, all right, we got to stop at
- 33:59least for us as individuals and we need to open ourselves up to
- 34:03these. These other ways of thinking,
- 34:06Yes, you do. SRI aurobindo at one point said
- 34:08that we are satiated, but not satisfied with the material
- 34:16benefits that ends in the world. People are not happy.
- 34:20They are alienated cynical frustrated, and angry, yet.
- 34:28At the same time, they've got all these material things and
- 34:34all these Recreations and all the Is it enticements and
- 34:38excitements? The reality is we feel less our
- 34:44humanity and our common humanity and less Goodwill.
- 34:49The more we isolate ourselves into this satiation.
- 34:54Yes. So we really need to understand
- 34:58that our fulfillment and benefiting the world through a
- 35:04more human. Response to It.
- 35:07Go together. All right, on a practical level
- 35:11and you've covered some of these but maybe you can reinforce
- 35:13them. What can we do?
- 35:16Tend to participate in this change.
- 35:17So on a practical level. So you mentioned learning and
- 35:21following a spiritual path, whether it be teaching some
- 35:24Dalai Lama, you mentioned different religious teaching,
- 35:26Espero teaching. What else can we do to?
- 35:29Kind of participate as individuals and bring about this
- 35:33change, both in ourselves and in humanity, well, I think that
- 35:40just by starting the thought process, And then trying to
- 35:44implement it in daily life. People will begin to notice a
- 35:50lot of different things of, I'll give you an example.
- 35:54There are many people who are deathly afraid of bees.
- 35:59Okay, sure. And they see a bee in the first
- 36:02thing they want to do is kill it.
- 36:05And they're not thinking about the fact that bees are essential
- 36:10to providing the food that they eat and they don't need to be
- 36:15fearful of bees. They need to understand the role
- 36:18of bees play. Take that very simple example
- 36:22and say you have a fearful individual. and that individual
- 36:28begins to reflect upon the Oneness of everything and says,
- 36:33well, Okay, I'm I just had a fearful reaction to a bee.
- 36:38Why am I reacting that way? And, you know, how can I deal
- 36:44with that in a different way? Begin to reflect on all the
- 36:49positive, things the bees do, and then they begin to observe
- 36:52them and see that they're really interested in the flowers.
- 36:55They're not interested in coming out and attacking people.
- 36:58Sure. And over time, that fear
- 37:02reaction, begins to subside, And they've created a new
- 37:06relationship to another being on the planet.
- 37:10Well, multiply that by every interaction, we have see massive
- 37:15amounts of opportunity for change.
- 37:19That's why SRI aurobindo calls, what we're talking about here.
- 37:23The adventure of Consciousness, we've explored outer space.
- 37:28We've explored Under the Sea, we've explored the tops of
- 37:31mountains and tree aurobindo says, It's time to explore Inner
- 37:36Space and have the adventure of Consciousness and it is an
- 37:41adventure because you have to face up to every issue, someone
- 37:45cuts you off on the road and you're angry with them.
- 37:48You're not understanding, they're trying to get a sick
- 37:51person to the hospital and they're doing what they need to
- 37:55do and you're expressing anger. Well examine that and find out.
- 38:00Why is it I'm reacting and how can I look at it?
- 38:04Differently. I can have compassion towards
- 38:09that being and not let them live rent-free in my head as someone
- 38:14has said. Yes, heard that before.
- 38:17Exactly. I like this concept, the
- 38:20adventure of Consciousness. There's a couple things.
- 38:24You said, I like that a lot. I also like the fact that we're
- 38:28kind of fighting to be satiated but most people aren't
- 38:32satisfied. That's an interesting.
- 38:35It's an interesting concept and one of the things I hear a lot
- 38:40about especially in the business world, but it's all over that
- 38:43people are are not engage their kind of diss engaged in their
- 38:47world and we need to re-engage and these are, some of the ways
- 38:51is talking about to kind of re engage ourselves.
- 38:53So, I want to take a minute over here.
- 38:56Obviously, you talked a lot about I've been de.
- 38:59Can you just share, website? What's the best way to find
- 39:02resources? More learning, more tools.
- 39:05Would where do people go? Sure well, we have a page called
- 39:12aurobindo dotnet on the end and that landing page will give some
- 39:17introductions will introduce people to some of the books that
- 39:22he's written or some of the introductions about three
- 39:24aurobindo and his work. I think that's a pretty good
- 39:28place to start. I should mention.
- 39:31SRI aurobindo was not. Stood in starting a new cult
- 39:35religion, following or anything else.
- 39:39His stated purpose was to support the evolution of
- 39:46Consciousness on the planet. And each individual needs to
- 39:51find their way through their, his writings are meant to assist
- 39:55you, in whatever your path is. He's not looking for someone
- 40:00flying the aurobindo flag, right?
- 40:03And go The war with somebody else on the contrary, you know,
- 40:08if you're a Christian or a Buddhist or a Hindu, or a Jane
- 40:12or an atheist, whatever you can participate in this evolution of
- 40:18Consciousness and his insights, may be useful to that process,
- 40:23all right? And I'm going to spell that out
- 40:24for folks who didn't aren't looking at a link.
- 40:27It's our been do dotnet. It's a uro Be IND, O Hara been
- 40:34do dotnet. All right.
- 40:36I just want to take a couple of minutes right now to give you a
- 40:40chance to kind of sum up any final message for our listeners.
- 40:44Today, things you haven't covered or any final message.
- 40:47What what people should do at this point?
- 40:49Well, I'll give you another citation from Sri aurobindo here
- 40:54that I think is Salient, the most vital issue of the age is
- 41:00whether the future progress of humanity, is to be governed by
- 41:05the modern economic and materialistic mind of the west
- 41:10or by a nobler pragmatism, guided uplifted and enlightened
- 41:16by spiritual culture and knowledge.
- 41:20And I think that sums it up. All right, thank you very much
- 41:24for joining us today. I appreciate you shared a lot of
- 41:28wisdom. Some your own wisdom and wisdom
- 41:30from three are abundant everybody.
- 41:33I really thank you for joining us and I want to thank everybody
- 41:36for listening today and I want to implore folks live, a great
- 41:41successful life, thanks for being part of self.
