Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: What's going on everyone? Welcome into another episode of DiCecco Daily.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's Andrew DiCecco, Eagles beat reporter for InsideTheBirds.com. And it's Wednesday,
- 0:17Speaker 1: which means you get your first injury report of the week.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Not practicing for the Eagles Wednesday. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter wrist.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Defensive back Cooper DeGene calf abdomen. Limited for the Eagles
- 0:29Speaker 1: outside linebacker Jonathan Grenard with the pectoral. Walking into practice
- 0:35Speaker 1: when the gates opened, one of the first things I spotted,
- 0:37Speaker 1: and the Eagles were on the far field, was Cooper
- 0:40Speaker 1: DeGene standing off to the side. And if you think
- 0:43Speaker 1: back to Sunday's game against the Commanders, it was early
- 0:47Speaker 1: in that game, early enough, but there was a play
- 0:51Speaker 1: that he sort of grabbed at his stomach, abdomen area,
- 0:54Speaker 1: and then we saw him wearing a sleeve on his leg, so...
- 1:00Speaker 1: You were able to draw your own conclusions that it
- 1:02Speaker 1: was multiple things that were sort of nagging him a
- 1:04Speaker 1: little bit. But he did speak after practice in the
- 1:08Speaker 1: locker room. He said, I'll be good. I'll be all right.
- 1:11Speaker 1: He expects to play Sunday. I'll add some quotes for
- 1:14Speaker 1: you to maybe add a little bit more context here.
- 1:19Speaker 1: And talking about the mental reps, he said, you got
- 1:21Speaker 1: to do as much as you can on the side,
- 1:23Speaker 1: watching the reps, watching film as well. When asked if
- 1:30Speaker 1: it's annoying to have an injury this early in the
- 1:34Speaker 1: season and having to answer questions like that, he said, yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 1: but I'm good, so I'll be alright. When asked, do
- 1:43Speaker 1: you have a sense of how much it'll nag you,
- 1:45Speaker 1: how long, he said, no idea, I really don't, but
- 1:48Speaker 1: I'll be good, I'll be alright. He gave a good
- 1:51Speaker 1: answer here when asked about what he believes is the
- 1:55Speaker 1: biggest step the defense needs to take to get to
- 1:57Speaker 1: the next level. He said... I think just continuing to
- 2:02Speaker 1: communicate and gel together. I feel like you saw, you've
- 2:05Speaker 1: seen in the past couple years, I'm not saying that
- 2:07Speaker 1: this year is the same, but taking the reps early
- 2:11Speaker 1: in the season and practice together and getting on the
- 2:13Speaker 1: same page and then translating that to the field when
- 2:16Speaker 1: the bullets are flying, being able to be on the
- 2:18Speaker 1: same page and play off one another well. So that
- 2:22Speaker 1: gives you a little bit of reasoning behind maybe why
- 2:25Speaker 1: you saw Cooper struggle on Sunday against the Commanders and...
- 2:29Speaker 1: If we're being honest, you can count on one hand
- 2:31Speaker 1: the amount of games that Cooper DeGene has struggled. I
- 2:34Speaker 1: can think back to the Carolina game as a rookie,
- 2:37Speaker 1: Adam Thielen, the game on Sunday against the Commanders, and
- 2:40Speaker 1: I'm struggling to think of the other one. But the
- 2:43Speaker 1: point is that Cooper DeGene has been a very steady
- 2:46Speaker 1: and consistent player. He's coming off an all-pro season. He's
- 2:50Speaker 1: a trusted member of Vic Fangio's defense. He wears a
- 2:53Speaker 1: ton of hats. And he's a valuable piece. And everyone's
- 2:57Speaker 1: entitled to have a bad game. And there's reasons why.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Perhaps this is the reason why you saw him maybe
- 3:04Speaker 1: not have the dominant performance that you've grown accustomed to seeing.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But I've seen some on social media suggest that maybe,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and I've been asked this as well, if it has
- 3:16Speaker 1: to do with him adding weight and muscle to his
- 3:19Speaker 1: frame in the offseason. Maybe that's impeding his mobility. I
- 3:24Speaker 1: don't know. I can't say that. There's one game of data.
- 3:28Speaker 1: He had a good training camp. I mean, he bulked
- 3:33Speaker 1: up in large part because he's going to be playing
- 3:38Speaker 1: safety when the Eagles are in base. So to play safety, naturally,
- 3:42Speaker 1: you want to have a bigger frame to be able
- 3:45Speaker 1: to handle those run fits and be physical and be
- 3:47Speaker 1: able to play downhill. And also when you're playing nickels,
- 3:50Speaker 1: you have to get involved when it comes to run
- 3:53Speaker 1: support and do some different things like that. You're a
- 3:55Speaker 1: hybrid player, and you have to handle a lot of responsibilities.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So I don't know that that had anything to do
- 4:02Speaker 1: with it. After one game, I can't make that determination.
- 4:05Speaker 1: We'll learn more, obviously, as the season goes. But the
- 4:08Speaker 1: good news here is that Cooper DeGene says he expects
- 4:11Speaker 1: to play Sunday against the Titans. Jalen Carter with the
- 4:16Speaker 1: wrist injury, that popped up Wednesday. That's not a good thing,
- 4:20Speaker 1: but that's obviously something that we'll monitor throughout the week.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Not a whole lot that I can really expand on
- 4:27Speaker 1: with that. Hopefully we'll get a chance to hear from
- 4:29Speaker 1: Jalen Carter this week, but Wednesday he was not around,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and when you're on the injury report and you're dealing
- 4:36Speaker 1: with something, that's not really a surprise. Also, the Eagles made...
- 4:42Speaker 1: Some roster moves on Tuesday afternoon that were made official.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Left guard Landon Dickerson was placed on injured reserve. And
- 4:53Speaker 1: the Eagles signed wide receiver slash punt returner Britton Covey
- 4:56Speaker 1: to the 53-man roster and signed to the practice squad
- 5:00Speaker 1: Josiah DeGuara, who was a third-round pick of the Green
- 5:03Speaker 1: Bay Packers in 2020. More of an H-back, blocking type
- 5:07Speaker 1: of player. 6'2, just under 240. A movable piece. I
- 5:11Speaker 1: liked him a lot coming out of Cincinnati. And if
- 5:14Speaker 1: I remember correctly, and I was doing work on this pre-draft,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I believe the Eagles did have interest in him. But
- 5:21Speaker 1: a lot's changed since then. Different coaching staff and things
- 5:24Speaker 1: like that. But just something that I found interesting. But
- 5:30Speaker 1: Britton Covey's back on the 53.
- 5:31Speaker 2: So.
- 5:32Speaker 1: He had two more elevations, and then the Eagles would
- 5:35Speaker 1: have had to make a decision. But if you know
- 5:36Speaker 1: that he's going to be your season-long punt returner, why
- 5:39Speaker 1: not get ahead of things? They certainly took advantage of that.
- 5:42Speaker 1: They still have an open spot on the 53. Remember,
- 5:45Speaker 1: Eli Stowers was placed on injured reserve, and the Eagles
- 5:48Speaker 1: haven't filled that spot yet. So I'm really curious to
- 5:51Speaker 1: see what direction they go, what their elevations might be
- 5:55Speaker 1: for Sunday's game as well. They now have seven wide
- 5:59Speaker 1: receivers on the roster. Britton Covey feels pretty comfortable there
- 6:03Speaker 1: because he has a defined, built-in role on game day.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You have to wonder how long Elijah Moore might be
- 6:10Speaker 1: on the roster. How long will they be willing to
- 6:12Speaker 1: carry seven wide receivers? Sometimes things have a way of
- 6:16Speaker 1: working themselves out. Other times, not so much, and you
- 6:19Speaker 1: have to get creative. But they do have an extra
- 6:21Speaker 1: roster spot to work with. So we'll see how that
- 6:25Speaker 1: all shakes. Got my rookie diary in the books with...
- 6:29Speaker 1: Micah Morris for the second consecutive week. That's going to
- 6:32Speaker 1: be a season-long series on InsideTheBirds.com. And right here on
- 6:36Speaker 1: DeCecco Daily, a really good conversation with Micah. And we
- 6:40Speaker 1: talked about, yeah, football a little bit. His early impressions
- 6:44Speaker 1: of experiencing the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field. His pregame routine.
- 6:49Speaker 1: the meeting rooms and the offensive line and the offensive
- 6:52Speaker 1: line room where does he sit is he an active
- 6:54Speaker 1: note taker and things of that nature but we also
- 6:57Speaker 1: got into other things and I talked about if you
- 6:59Speaker 1: had to credit to one or two individuals that helped
- 7:04Speaker 1: you get to where you are today who would they
- 7:06Speaker 1: be and he gave a really good answer about that
- 7:08Speaker 1: I'm not going to Reveal that. I want you to
- 7:11Speaker 1: read it. I want you to listen to it, of course.
- 7:13Speaker 1: We talked about movies. We talked about some of his
- 7:16Speaker 1: off-field interests as well, other off-field interests, and just a
- 7:20Speaker 1: really good conversation. I'm really enjoying chatting with Micah and
- 7:23Speaker 1: getting to know him a little bit. He has a
- 7:25Speaker 1: great personality. He's really just sort of embracing his role
- 7:30Speaker 1: on the Eagles, and he's taking a step back because
- 7:33Speaker 1: he's not playing it. He was inactive for week one,
- 7:35Speaker 1: but he's doing a lot of work behind the scenes
- 7:38Speaker 1: and The Eagles pride themselves on player development, and he's
- 7:41Speaker 1: really taken to that. And we talk about that as well.
- 7:44Speaker 1: But make sure you're keeping an eye out for that
- 7:46Speaker 1: later in the week. Nick Sirianni spoke on Wednesday, as
- 7:51Speaker 1: he always does. And I thought he had some interesting
- 7:53Speaker 1: things to say, especially as it pertains to the backup
- 7:57Speaker 1: quarterback spot. And he added some clarity to it. And he,
- 8:02Speaker 1: when asked about Andy Dalton... Hold on, I'm looking for
- 8:09Speaker 1: that quote for you guys. He said, we felt like
- 8:12Speaker 1: he was the best person for the job and that
- 8:14Speaker 1: won the job. That has no indication of how we
- 8:19Speaker 1: feel about Tanner. That's who won the job throughout camp,
- 8:21Speaker 1: but roles and spots on the depth chart are never
- 8:23Speaker 1: set in stone. They're still competing, they're still working, and
- 8:26Speaker 1: we'll be evaluating everything all the time. But at the
- 8:29Speaker 1: end of the day, that's why.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Hey, I'm somebody who likes to work out. I get
- 8:33Speaker 2: to the gym at least three times a week. I
- 8:36Speaker 2: try to focus on certain muscle groups, my arms, my legs.
- 8:39Speaker 2: And it used to be really frustrating for me to
- 8:42Speaker 2: find jeans that fit someone like myself who likes to
- 8:45Speaker 2: work out. Sometimes those jeans can be awkward and tight
- 8:48Speaker 2: and you're sitting in a chair and you're constantly pulling
- 8:51Speaker 2: at your jeans, trying to get.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Them to fit you.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Sometimes it feels like you have to buy jeans that
- 8:56Speaker 2: make you choose between your waist or your thighs.
- 9:00Speaker 3: But thankfully I found the perfect jean.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It's different from all other jean companies out especially for
- 9:06Speaker 2: guys with athletic builds. They actually let me move like
- 9:09Speaker 2: a normal human being. I can bend down and tie
- 9:12Speaker 2: my shoes. I can squat to pick up something without
- 9:14Speaker 2: feeling restricted. I can actually do a full squat, you know,
- 9:18Speaker 2: bending down to pick something up without feeling like I'm
- 9:21Speaker 2: about to blow a seam.
- 9:22Speaker 3: You know, the old standard jean sizing, it wasn't designed
- 9:25Speaker 3: to fit guys.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Who squat or deadlift, play sports, or just do anything
- 9:29Speaker 2: that actually builds your legs.
- 9:30Speaker 3: But the perfect jean is designed for just that, for guys...
- 9:35Speaker 3: like me. Perfect Gene has six fits. It includes the
- 9:38Speaker 3: athletic fit, the slim, the.

- 11:55Speaker 1: So I mentioned this on this podcast, and I've written
- 11:58Speaker 1: about it as well. I thought that Andy Dalton made
- 12:01Speaker 1: the most sense as the No. 2 quarterback. All things
- 12:04Speaker 1: being equal, no one really separated in training camp, but
- 12:08Speaker 1: the Eagles did show deference to Andy Dalton in training camp.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And he started the first two preseason games. He's a veteran.
- 12:15Speaker 1: This is his 16th NFL season. He's been in different schemes.
- 12:19Speaker 1: He has a good feel for the game and how
- 12:22Speaker 1: defensive coordinators are playing. And, of course, he has experience
- 12:25Speaker 1: in a similar system like the Eagles are doing right now. So,
- 12:29Speaker 1: for me, I think there's a lot of value there
- 12:30Speaker 1: of having someone like Andy Dalton as your number two quarterback.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Despite how he played in the summer, I don't base
- 12:35Speaker 1: it off of that. I base it off of the
- 12:38Speaker 1: body of work, what he's done maybe even the last
- 12:40Speaker 1: couple of years. And when you look at a number
- 12:43Speaker 1: two quarterback, you want someone who can be almost an
- 12:45Speaker 1: extension of the coaching staff. Ideally, ideally. But in this case,
- 12:50Speaker 1: he's someone that I think can be a really good
- 12:51Speaker 1: sounding board for Jalen Hurts. can be there in the
- 12:54Speaker 1: moment and let him know what he saw on the field.
- 12:57Speaker 1: And I think having a veteran presence like that should
- 13:00Speaker 1: help the offense, but should help Jalen Hurts most of all.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So there you have that. Nick Sirianni also spoke about
- 13:09Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson, of course. That was the most important topic
- 13:13Speaker 1: of the day. And When asked, you know, when did
- 13:17Speaker 1: you realize that Landon was seriously hurt and wouldn't be himself?
- 13:21Speaker 1: And was there any talk about maybe going with someone
- 13:23Speaker 1: else at left guard? Nick Sirianni said, like I said,
- 13:26Speaker 1: you guys, everybody in that first game had some good
- 13:30Speaker 1: plays and had some bad plays. And he was doing
- 13:32Speaker 1: some really good things as well, like I mentioned to
- 13:34Speaker 1: you guys. after he got into the locker room he
- 13:36Speaker 1: was uncomfortable and that's where you do MRIs and that's
- 13:40Speaker 1: where you saw the bone bruise or where we saw
- 13:42Speaker 1: the bone bruise and that's kind of how it went
- 13:44Speaker 1: you're comfortable with him because of how many times he's
- 13:47Speaker 1: played through him being uncomfortable because he's so tough that's
- 13:51Speaker 1: how that went about we also heard from Drew Kendall
- 13:58Speaker 1: Drew Kendall I'm a I wonder, I'll have to ask
- 14:00Speaker 1: him this when the buzz dies down a little bit,
- 14:04Speaker 1: maybe later this week, maybe next week. But I can't
- 14:06Speaker 1: imagine that he's had to look and see a sea
- 14:10Speaker 1: of reporters quite like he saw today, even dating back
- 14:14Speaker 1: to his time at Boston College. But he was asked
- 14:18Speaker 1: right off the bat, it seems like you might have
- 14:20Speaker 1: an opportunity to start. If that's the case, what would
- 14:21Speaker 1: that mean to you? He said, I'm just excited for
- 14:24Speaker 1: any opportunity ahead. We have a lot of good guys
- 14:28Speaker 1: in our room. Everyone's been cross-training at different positions throughout
- 14:30Speaker 1: the summer, so whatever the five is, I'm just excited
- 14:34Speaker 1: and try to contribute to this team and get our
- 14:37Speaker 1: best five out there. He didn't want to get into
- 14:40Speaker 1: what position he took reps at today. He said, I
- 14:42Speaker 1: was doing a little bit of everything. Of course, we're
- 14:45Speaker 1: trying to keep everything in-house, so not trying to give
- 14:47Speaker 1: out too much. When he talked about how much more
- 14:53Speaker 1: prepared he feels for this opportunity this year relative to
- 14:56Speaker 1: maybe last season as a rookie. He said, I'm just
- 14:58Speaker 1: excited for whatever's ahead, you know. But definitely a good opportunity.
- 15:02Speaker 1: We're wishing for Landon to get a very speedy recovery.
- 15:05Speaker 1: We'll miss him. He's a warrior, really battling through. So
- 15:08Speaker 1: we'll miss him, but just excited. So they're keeping it
- 15:14Speaker 1: close to the vest there, and you might expect that
- 15:16Speaker 1: that would be the case. They have, as I outlined,
- 15:20Speaker 1: multiple options. ways that they can go with this. You
- 15:22Speaker 1: have Drew Kendall. I think Drew Kendall, I feel pretty
- 15:25Speaker 1: comfortable saying that he's going to be involved in some
- 15:27Speaker 1: capacity now, whether that's center or whether that's left guard
- 15:30Speaker 1: is to be determined, but he does give you that versatility.
- 15:34Speaker 1: He was the Eagles top interior backup in training camp
- 15:37Speaker 1: for what it's worth. Things change, of course, but the
- 15:41Speaker 1: Eagles are high on Drew Kendall and he checked off
- 15:43Speaker 1: all the boxes and at least in my estimation, in
- 15:46Speaker 1: training camp. And it seems like they're really bullish on
- 15:49Speaker 1: him in terms of where he is right now at
- 15:52Speaker 1: this stage of his development. And it was always viewed,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I've said this throughout training camp, that he was the
- 15:59Speaker 1: top interior backup, the Brett Toth for the 2026 Eagles.
- 16:03Speaker 1: By that definition, I'm expecting him to get his number
- 16:06Speaker 1: called and we'll find out where exactly that is, but
- 16:10Speaker 1: I feel pretty comfortable with him out there. Is he
- 16:12Speaker 1: a little undersized to play guard? If that were the case? Yes,
- 16:16Speaker 1: I would say so. A three Oh five that's on
- 16:18Speaker 1: the lighter side for a guard, but he's such a cerebral,
- 16:22Speaker 1: cerebral player in general, but especially at center where I
- 16:25Speaker 1: believe he started 34 games at Boston college. So we
- 16:30Speaker 1: don't want to get too far ahead. It's just Wednesday.
- 16:33Speaker 1: We have a lot more to learn, but, Jalen Hurts
- 16:36Speaker 1: also spoke, and he spoke about the offensive line. He
- 16:43Speaker 1: gave a good answer there about the center position that
- 16:51Speaker 1: I'm looking for as we speak. There it is. Okay.
- 16:58Speaker 1: How much work have you gotten with Drew at center
- 17:00Speaker 1: if that ends up being the case, and how big
- 17:02Speaker 1: of a deal is that if switching centers– switching centers
- 17:06Speaker 1: from a quarterback standpoint. He said, I've been working with Cam.
- 17:10Speaker 1: You know, with Cam, it's at his own– you know,
- 17:13Speaker 1: when he had his off days in camp, he would
- 17:18Speaker 1: say that, you know, Drew would step in. But, yeah, Cam.
- 17:22Speaker 1: That doesn't necessarily mean that that is going to– would
- 17:26Speaker 1: be the move to keep Cam there because he's had
- 17:29Speaker 1: a lot of experience with Jalen. We don't exactly– I mean,
- 17:32Speaker 1: just so everyone knows, during the season– we see a
- 17:36Speaker 1: small part portion of practice. It's not like training camp
- 17:38Speaker 1: where we're out there for the entirety of the session.
- 17:41Speaker 1: So who knows what's going on in terms of their
- 17:45Speaker 1: offensive line configuration. But I thought it was notable that
- 17:48Speaker 1: Jalen said that he's mostly been working with Cam, not
- 17:52Speaker 1: really a surprise, but that's where he's most familiar. And
- 17:54Speaker 1: you also have to look at this new offense. I
- 17:57Speaker 1: would imagine that it would, it's not like just, you know,
- 18:02Speaker 1: it's not a snap of the finger. of being able
- 18:04Speaker 1: to get a center, even as cerebral as Drew Kendall is,
- 18:08Speaker 1: to be able to sort of immerse themselves. When Cam
- 18:11Speaker 1: Juergens himself spent the entirety of the summer, like the
- 18:14Speaker 1: entire offensive line, familiarizing themselves and really immersing themselves into
- 18:20Speaker 1: this offense, which there's new demands. So I don't know.
- 18:24Speaker 1: It's something that I probably spend way too much time
- 18:26Speaker 1: thinking about this week, and I will continue to do so. But,
- 18:31Speaker 1: Jalen also spoke about Landon's injury and he said he's
- 18:35Speaker 1: a force. When asked about how it will affect the unit,
- 18:39Speaker 1: he said he's a force. You know, you can't, it's
- 18:41Speaker 1: hard to replace a guy that has had the success
- 18:44Speaker 1: he's had and has been such a great communicator, smart
- 18:47Speaker 1: player up front. So taking it day by day, taking
- 18:51Speaker 1: it day at a time.
- 18:52Speaker 2: As I've gotten older, I've really tried to concentrate on
- 18:55Speaker 2: my physical health, my body, making sure I'm putting the
- 18:58Speaker 2: right things in and the healthiest things in. I've always
- 19:01Speaker 2: heard about creatine, but I wasn't really sure about using
- 19:05Speaker 2: creatine supplements until I did the research to find out
- 19:08Speaker 2: what it was really all about. That's when I found Momentous,
- 19:11Speaker 2: which created Signature Spec Creatine, their most advanced creatine ever,
- 19:17Speaker 2: setting a new standard for for creatine quality. It's one
- 19:20Speaker 2: of the only creatines to be manufactured in a pharmaceutical
- 19:23Speaker 2: facility using reverse osmosis water purification and verified through an
- 19:28Speaker 2: expanded six stage testing process with four independent agencies. They've
- 19:33Speaker 2: improved the product experience with ultra fine powder that mixes
- 19:37Speaker 2: effortlessly with no grit or clumping. Hey, look, I like
- 19:41Speaker 2: a good creatine shake in the afternoon and it's got
- 19:44Speaker 2: to taste good and be smooth. The benefits of creatine
- 19:47Speaker 2: are very real. It supports strength, power, lean muscle growth, recovery,
- 19:52Speaker 2: and even improved cognitive performance. And as I get older,
- 19:56Speaker 2: all of those things are so much more important to
- 19:58Speaker 2: me than they used to be. If you want to
- 20:00Speaker 2: try Momentous Signature Spec Creatine, head to livemomentous.com and use

- 20:15Speaker 2: off live momentous.com promo code birds. Nobody loves grilling more
- 20:21Speaker 2: than me. It could be 30 degrees and I'll be
- 20:23Speaker 2: out there grilling burgers and steaks. But the one thing
- 20:26Speaker 2: that I really can't stand is losing my fish and
- 20:29Speaker 2: my veggies because they just can't grill without falling through.
- 20:33Speaker 2: That's why I've been using Hexclad's BBQ collection. It's bringing
- 20:37Speaker 2: hybrid technology outdoors with products specifically designed to make grilling easier,
- 20:43Speaker 2: especially when you're cooking foods that normally don't cooperate on
- 20:46Speaker 2: a traditional grill. The hex clad BBU grill plan combines
- 20:50Speaker 2: the searing power of stainless steel, durability of cast iron
- 20:54Speaker 2: and the convenience of nonstick all in one versatile grill.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Grill pan they've.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Also launched their new bbq grill topper that gives you
- 21:01Speaker 2: even more control when you're cooking delicate foods like veggies
- 21:05Speaker 2: or seafood or if you're cooking multiple portions at one
- 21:08Speaker 2: time last week i grilled the best surf and turf
- 21:12Speaker 2: my style which is salmon and ribs and lost none
- 21:15Speaker 2: of it because i used hexclad's bbq collection with over
- 21:19Speaker 2: 1 million customers and more than 50,000 five-star reviews. It's
- 21:24Speaker 2: clear people love cooking with Hexclad. There's a reason Gordon
- 21:27Speaker 2: Ramsay uses Hexclad at his home and in his restaurants,
- 21:31Speaker 2: and he's the toughest critic on the planet. So if
- 21:33Speaker 2: you're planning on spending time behind the grill this summer,
- 21:35Speaker 2: don't make it harder than it needs to be. Stop

- 22:00Speaker 1: I mentioned this anecdote that he had the other day
- 22:03Speaker 1: on Tuesday about the 64-yarder to Dontavian Wicks and how
- 22:09Speaker 1: Wicks really repped it in practice. He didn't get the ball,
- 22:12Speaker 1: but he was full speed, full tilt. And they showed that.
- 22:16Speaker 1: in an offensive meeting because they were that impressed. And
- 22:19Speaker 1: that embodies Sean Manning and said what the Eagles want
- 22:22Speaker 1: to be as an offense. And then the ball found
- 22:25Speaker 1: Dontavion Wicks in the game on a similar, on the
- 22:28Speaker 1: same play. So it just goes to show you that
- 22:31Speaker 1: hard work does get rewarded. And I believe that that
- 22:34Speaker 1: is a really good indication of what the Eagles are
- 22:36Speaker 1: striving for. Good effort, toughness, detailed, all of the things
- 22:41Speaker 1: that you hear Nick Sirianni talk about. And again, Jalen said,
- 22:47Speaker 1: it's the reps over time that just lead to the
- 22:49Speaker 1: moments that we have in the game, how the game goes.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Talked about it a lot. The time we spent away
- 22:56Speaker 1: learning this body language, learning who he is as a player,
- 22:59Speaker 1: and then we're just trying to master the offense and
- 23:02Speaker 1: the fundamentals of what I'm asked to do. So he
- 23:06Speaker 1: ran a great route, got some leverage on it, and
- 23:08Speaker 1: was able to make a good explosive in the game.
- 23:13Speaker 1: There you go. That's sort of a roundup of everything
- 23:18Speaker 1: that I gathered and all the important notes from Wednesday
- 23:21Speaker 1: at the Eagles practice facility. They're back on the field tomorrow,
- 23:26Speaker 1: and I'll have another podcast for you and another one
- 23:29Speaker 1: for you on Friday as well. Keep an eye out
- 23:31Speaker 1: for Rookie Diary and all my work on InsideTheBirds.com, and
- 23:35Speaker 1: keep it right here on the Checo Daily. That's going
- 23:37Speaker 1: to do it for this episode of the Checo Daily.
- 23:39Speaker 1: I'm Andrew DiCecco, and I'll catch you all on the
- 23:42Speaker 1: next one.
