- 0:00$39.12 per oz silver. Is that what history is telling
- 0:07us the price should be right now?
- 0:09You're going to be shocked when we look at the graphs, charts
- 0:13and information that I have for you today because to me it shows
- 0:18undeniably that the silver price should be close to $40 per oz.
- 0:23And we know other fundamental factors that we will touch on
- 0:28should have the price even higher than that.
- 0:38Were you willing to trade 90 ounces of silver for one ounce
- 0:43of gold? The gold the silver ratio had
- 0:46been stretched not too long ago to those levels.
- 0:50This is a ratio that's closely watched within the precious
- 0:54metals community. And when we look at it from a
- 0:57historic perspective, what can it tell us about where right now
- 1:02the silver price should be? In recent weeks, the gold to
- 1:06silver ratio has pulled back. Now it only takes 76.62 ounces
- 1:12of silver to get your hands on one ounce of gold.
- 1:17But look at this information that was shared with us from our
- 1:19good friend Coin Shop Chris. He's our man on the street
- 1:24interacting with customers every day who are buying and selling
- 1:28gold and silver coin shop. Chris sent me this at with gold
- 1:32at $2347.70 per oz. That's the price on June 2nd of
- 1:392024. Here's the ratio.
- 1:43And what if the ratio were at lower numbers where the price of
- 1:48silver would be at 70 to one? We're looking at $33 silver at
- 1:5360 to one. Let's focus on this number for
- 1:56now. We have silver at $39.12 at 50
- 2:00to $147.40 to 1. Silver to, I'm sorry, gold to
- 2:05silver ratio almost $60.00 per oz, silver at a 30 to one.
- 2:10Gold to silver ratio almost $80.20 to one, almost $120.00
- 2:16and 12:50. Now look, I've got some big
- 2:20historic data I'm going to share with you later from our friend
- 2:23Silvershire that might just make that 12:50 ratio number seem not
- 2:30too far out of the question. None the less, at 12:50 we're
- 2:34looking at $235 silver. So with our current gold to
- 2:39silver ratio at 76.62, let's take a step back to what we just
- 2:45looked at and remember what a 60 to one gold to silver ratio
- 2:51resulted in $39.12 silver. I want you to look at this
- 2:56chart. It's a 30 year chart of the gold
- 2:59to silver ratio. If you just eyeball this chart,
- 3:02where do you think the average has been over the last 30 years?
- 3:08What I'm seeing is an average of about 60 to one.
- 3:13And again, this is just over the last 30 years.
- 3:17So if we were at an average gold to silver ratio right now, we
- 3:22would have $39.12 over. And that's not even considering
- 3:28that over that time period, the industrial uses for silver have
- 3:32absolutely exploded. We've covered that ad nauseam on
- 3:36the channel. You know, back in the mid 90s,
- 3:39the industrial uses for silver, that massive source of demand
- 3:43was nowhere near where it is today.
- 3:46But it gets even more astounding, guys, when we zoom
- 3:50out and look at some more historic data.
- 3:54So while currently it takes almost 76 ounces of silver to
- 3:58get one ounce of gold, if you and I were walking around in
- 4:01ancient Greece, what, 2324 years ago, it would only take us 10
- 4:09ounces of silver to trade for one ounce of gold because that
- 4:14was the gold to silver ratio at that time.
- 4:17Medieval England, not that long ago, we probably had some shared
- 4:21relatives living in that part of the world.
- 4:23It was 11 to one. Let's go to a little more modern
- 4:28times, Germany in the year 15110 to 10.
- 4:33Interesting. And even here in the United
- 4:36States, back in the year 1888, we had a gold to silver ratio of
- 4:4220, 1.221. I want to thank our friend
- 4:46Silvershire for sending me this information.
- 4:48I crumbled it up and thrown it away when I was cleaning my desk
- 4:51off and I had to dig through the trash can to find this hidden
- 4:55gem. Now again, if we look at the
- 4:57Germany number at the top, a 12:50 gold to silver ratio would
- 5:03mean that right now the silver price would be well over $200.00
- 5:08per oz. Right now I'm holding in my hand
- 5:12an 1878 Morgan Silver dollar. If we look at the middle of this
- 5:18chart, we would see that in 1878, the gold to silver ratio
- 5:22was 16.7 to one. Yes, that means that not too
- 5:28long ago, this very coin that I'm holding in my hand that at
- 5:33that period it would only take less than 17 ounces of silver to
- 5:38get one ounce of gold. I mean, look, this coin is, in
- 5:42my opinion, relatively recent. The fact that this gold silver
- 5:46ratio has gotten so far out of whack, I believe lends even more
- 5:52credence to the fact that silver is the most undervalued asset on
- 5:56the face of the earth. Hey, if you want to get your
- 5:59hands on some silver or gold before maybe it becomes maybe
- 6:02very hard to get, please check out our channel sponsor Pembex.
- 6:06They make videos like this possible.
- 6:09Pi MB EX there's the box right there.
- 6:13I think you'll find they have the best prices, service and a
- 6:16company you can trust, but you need to find that out for
- 6:20yourself. Thank you Pembex for being a
- 6:22gracious sponsor of Ron's basement and making this video
- 6:26possible. Guys, it's going to be super
- 6:28interesting as we head into the coming months, quarters and
- 6:32years as silver investors, gold investors as well.
- 6:36But they're really truly is what a lot of people are calling a
- 6:41potential for a slingshot move in silver as that gold to silver
- 6:46ratio compresses back towards more historic norms like we
- 6:51showed during this video. One thing for sure, no matter
- 6:54which way that gold to silver ratio goes, I'll be here for
- 6:58you. It's a big honor to me when you
- 7:00join me in the basement and I'll look forward to seeing you next
