- 0:00Speaker 1: I'll get a groovers. It's Harps and Melissa and Deborah,
- 0:02Speaker 1: it's us, it's you. It's a bloody You project. It's Friday.
- 0:05Speaker 1: It's Friday. As we sit down to do this, it's
- 0:07Speaker 1: raining in the thriving metropolis. And I looked at my
- 0:10Speaker 1: phone just before and there's only about ten days in
- 0:13Speaker 1: a row of rain. So at this point in time,
- 0:16Speaker 1: I'm building an arc with some of my mates, and
- 0:19Speaker 1: we're just looking for animals two by two because it
- 0:22Speaker 1: does seem somewhat theological out there and it could be
- 0:25Speaker 1: the end of times. But batten down the hatches. We
- 0:27Speaker 1: don't know, Melissa, do you think the apocalypse is upon us?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Look?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Quite possibly. I've got my flippers and my snorkel. I'm
- 0:35Speaker 3: ready to go if you do need to go with
- 0:38Speaker 3: the animals two by tea.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Can you make sure you catch that cat, that cool
- 0:41Speaker 1: cat that hangs around near you, because I really want
- 0:43Speaker 1: to make sure that cat gets on the arch. There's
- 0:46Speaker 1: a cat that lives near me everyone. I don't know
- 0:48Speaker 1: what his name is, but he's big as a fucking dog.
- 0:50Speaker 1: He is black, and he gives no fucks, and I
- 0:51Speaker 1: don't think he knows that he's a cat. I think
- 0:53Speaker 1: he thinks that he's a dog, and he just comes
- 0:57Speaker 1: to my joint and he just sometimes walks up the
- 0:59Speaker 1: stairs when I'm in my office and he just walks
- 1:03Speaker 1: around my legs and then just jumps on I've got
- 1:05Speaker 1: these two big comfy chairs, jumps up on one of
- 1:07Speaker 1: them and just sunbakes, and he goes, I'll just be
- 1:09Speaker 1: here if you need me. So anyway, are you an
- 1:13Speaker 1: animal person?
- 1:14Speaker 2: Debrahadn' oh, Hello, I'm an animal person, but I'm I'm
- 1:18Speaker 2: a dog.
- 1:19Speaker 3: I'm a dog, massive dog lover.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Funny enough, I just bought a T shirt online the
- 1:23Speaker 2: other day that says, sorry I'm late.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I saw a dog and I loved it. I bought
- 1:30Speaker 3: two of them, and I just thought, that's so me.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I'm such a dog person.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I had the most beautiful animal for nine years called Billy,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and she was a Vishon crossed with Shitsu Wow, And
- 1:43Speaker 2: unfortunately I left her with my boyfriend at the time,
- 1:46Speaker 2: who I did explicitly say to him, don't ever walk
- 1:49Speaker 2: her off lead because she doesn't know you're the commands. Unfortunately,
- 1:54Speaker 2: she got run over, so I therefore turned into one
- 1:58Speaker 2: of those crazy dogs ladies that just hugs and talks
- 2:02Speaker 2: to and I've got a silly.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Dog voice, and yeah, I'm a massive dog lover.
- 2:07Speaker 1: How long ago did Billy go to God? The big ken.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Billy left me? I would say more five years ago.
- 2:18Speaker 1: It's time. It's time.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Come on, I know it's time, and it's time going.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Around go to the lost dogs home.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Don't get a rescue, I know, but you see, yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 3: you don't know.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So my circumstances have changed, and I've moved out of
- 2:30Speaker 2: Sydney and I'm on this block and we can talk
- 2:32Speaker 2: about a lot, but I'm on this block that doesn't
- 2:34Speaker 2: have any fences and it's on a busy road, and
- 2:37Speaker 2: it's like, I don't want to get a puppy because
- 2:38Speaker 2: the house is going to be knocked down. And so
- 2:41Speaker 2: I just thinking, I'm thinking now it'll be more like
- 2:45Speaker 2: I've found a couple of sites where they've got and
- 2:47Speaker 2: I love this idea.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I love this idea.
- 2:49Speaker 2: There's a lot of older people that unfortunately having to
- 2:51Speaker 2: go to homes and they're having to give up these
- 2:53Speaker 2: beautiful loved dogs and they need a home and they're
- 2:56Speaker 2: going to be a bit older and a bit like
- 2:59Speaker 2: me and they and they just need some love and
- 3:02Speaker 2: because their parents or their mum and dad have gone
- 3:06Speaker 2: to other places.
- 3:06Speaker 3: And so that's what I'm thinking of doing, because then.
- 3:09Speaker 2: For they know, they kind of know, they know when
- 3:11Speaker 2: they need to go and pee outside. They kind of
- 3:13Speaker 2: they've got their shit together. So that's that's what I'm thinking.
- 3:16Speaker 2: So anyway, just softly, softly, that's when it's one step
- 3:18Speaker 2: at a time. But that's kind of where I'm going
- 3:20Speaker 2: with it for the time being.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So where are living at the minute? Not in so
- 3:25Speaker 1: you've done it to give us an actual address, but
- 3:27Speaker 1: what area?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, so I don't know how many are the Sydney,
- 3:31Speaker 2: but I'm down an hour south right on the coast
- 3:35Speaker 2: and a little place. It's a little these little seaside
- 3:38Speaker 2: beach communities and it's called it's the Illawarra, so it's
- 3:42Speaker 2: north of Woollongong and they refer to it as the
- 3:46Speaker 2: Northern Beaches, which is funny because when you live in Sydney,
- 3:48Speaker 2: you talk about the Northern Beaches and everyone thinks avalon
- 3:51Speaker 2: Palm Beach and blah blah blah. But this is the
- 3:55Speaker 2: Northern Beaches and Woollongong and it's just beautiful it's like
- 3:59Speaker 2: going back to the nineteen seventies.
- 4:01Speaker 3: That's what it feels like to me.
- 4:02Speaker 2: And it's literally just an over an hour from Sydney,
- 4:04Speaker 2: so still very very attainable, very easy to get to Sydney.
- 4:09Speaker 2: But you know, I tried to do that lesson less
- 4:11Speaker 2: and less because I'm I can'tellue how happy I am
- 4:14Speaker 2: to get out of that craziness and that ridiculous traffic
- 4:18Speaker 2: and all that kind of stuff.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So yeah, I moved earlier this year.
- 4:21Speaker 2: I sold my beautiful bronte pad that I built at
- 4:25Speaker 2: the end of last year and then bought this And
- 4:27Speaker 2: this is a massive project.
- 4:29Speaker 3: So I've I've changed location. I'm out of the madness.
- 4:33Speaker 1: And have you got like a bit of space, Like,
- 4:36Speaker 1: is it not cluttered where you are? Are you're near
- 4:38Speaker 1: the water obviously, Yeah, a little bit of land.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yeah, look it's I don't know, it's sort of a
- 4:44Speaker 2: bit of land. It's a thousand square meters and it
- 4:46Speaker 2: runs down to the ocean.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And you talking about rain earlier.
- 4:51Speaker 2: We've had massive rain bombs down here this year and
- 4:54Speaker 2: my land suffered a massive landslide.
- 5:00Speaker 3: It also landslip, so everything sort of.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Round, you know, the house, the existing house at the
- 5:05Speaker 2: moment is like a nineteen sixties knockdown red bricker, asbestos walls,
- 5:10Speaker 2: concrete cancer.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You know, it's adorable, and I've found that horrible.
- 5:16Speaker 2: I've spent tens of dollars on it, and I've gone
- 5:18Speaker 2: to Buddings and Kmart and run around and tricked the
- 5:22Speaker 2: place up, bought everything on gum tree, and I'm gonna
- 5:24Speaker 2: live in it for a couple of years.
- 5:25Speaker 3: But what's happening that the house is.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Fine, but the end of the land has had all this,
- 5:29Speaker 2: all this, all this land slippage.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So I'm now sort of dealing with that. But you
- 5:33Speaker 3: know it's just to be.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got space around me, but I've got beautiful community,
- 5:41Speaker 2: fresh air, the ocean I listened to at night. Everyone smiles,
- 5:46Speaker 2: everyone's got a dog. Everyone. There's dog beaches.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You're allowed.
- 5:49Speaker 2: There's dog beaches everywhere, which is incredible because you've got
- 5:52Speaker 2: can't you fight for.
- 5:53Speaker 3: That in Sydney?
- 5:54Speaker 2: And and yeah, I just feel like I've just made
- 5:58Speaker 2: the best move for this time my life.
- 6:00Speaker 3: It's unreal.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Well, if anyone's interested in the area that's listening to this,
- 6:05Speaker 1: that lives vaguely near Deborah She's available for dog sitting,
- 6:08Speaker 1: so just hit her up. Look for the shit hat,
- 6:10Speaker 1: look for the crappy shit house with asbestos near the water.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Just knock on the door. And the woman in the
- 6:16Speaker 1: haz mats, the woman in the hazmat suit that comes
- 6:19Speaker 1: to the front door. Just hand to your dog. What
- 6:21Speaker 1: could go wrong?
- 6:22Speaker 3: No, I'm wearing the T shirt that says sorry I'm
- 6:25Speaker 3: laid I saw.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Do you know someone gave me a very similar T shirt? Literally, Melissa,
- 6:31Speaker 1: you know this because I've worn it to death and
- 6:32Speaker 1: it says sorry, I'm late. I didn't want to be here.
- 6:38Speaker 1: I love that. Now, for the seven people out of
- 6:43Speaker 1: the twenty thousand who are listening to this who don't
- 6:45Speaker 1: know who Debra is, media personality, entrepreneur, author, speaker, brand ambassador,
- 6:50Speaker 1: master's Ceremonies, TV hosts, a one time super duper international model. Now,
- 6:57Speaker 1: I want you to be honest. I want you to
- 6:59Speaker 1: look at my face and I don't I don't want
- 7:01Speaker 1: you to hold back. Right, don't fuck around, Melissa, stop
- 7:05Speaker 1: laughing now, Debrah hatton.
- 7:08Speaker 3: That both of us are laughing.
- 7:09Speaker 1: No, don't fuck around. Has my international modeling career window
- 7:14Speaker 1: come and gone?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Oh? So it actually arrived.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Help.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That's hurtful, Lissa. You said she was a nice lady.
- 7:27Speaker 1: You said, oh, she's lovely, this will be fun.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Don't believe you?
- 7:30Speaker 1: What do I say?
- 7:31Speaker 3: Don't believe anything you see nothing about your year or
- 7:33Speaker 3: something like that. Something goes along.
- 7:36Speaker 1: So I spoke a bit about what you do before,
- 7:39Speaker 1: what you well, how do you keep busy these days?
- 7:42Speaker 1: And are you working flat out or you're kind of
- 7:44Speaker 1: part timing it?
- 7:46Speaker 3: Well.
- 7:46Speaker 2: The whole idea was to be working a little less
- 7:49Speaker 2: than I have been. I started work at sixteen, and
- 7:53Speaker 2: the first time that I actually had a break, a
- 7:57Speaker 2: real holiday was in Iso last year when we were
- 8:01Speaker 2: all locked up for three months, and it was just
- 8:04Speaker 2: an epiphany to me.
- 8:05Speaker 3: It was like, wow, this is I know.
- 8:08Speaker 2: A lot of people suffered and I'm sorry for that,
- 8:11Speaker 2: but personally.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I loved it. I loved lockdown.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I was just there was not an email I had
- 8:18Speaker 2: to respond to, there was no phone calls, and it
- 8:20Speaker 2: was just this peacefulnes that just transcended and it was
- 8:23Speaker 2: It was incredible, And so I think part of my movers.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Was recognizing that I didn't want to work as hard.
- 8:29Speaker 2: So in saying that there's a couple of things, so
- 8:34Speaker 2: stopped filming Fox Style so that all the stuff was
- 8:37Speaker 2: in the bag, So that was good.
- 8:38Speaker 3: That was pretty hectic.
- 8:39Speaker 2: That finished off the beginning of the year, and then
- 8:42Speaker 2: I launched a range of upf fifty plus some protection
- 8:46Speaker 2: hats called Cannoby Bay last September, and so we started
- 8:51Speaker 2: working on the second season and doing all that kind
- 8:53Speaker 2: of stuff. And then I also launched Home with Deborah
- 8:55Speaker 2: Hutton about the same time, and we've just done a
- 8:58Speaker 2: second season and working with all.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Stuff, and then I've been traveling around to doing ken
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yount's going to be to you.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I've been so busy, so I'm like, you know what,
- 9:06Speaker 4: I'm just now towards the end of the year, I'm like,
- 9:10Speaker 4: I'm starting to go, okay, just let's just calm and
- 9:12Speaker 4: fuck down and just let's just take a deep breath.
- 9:15Speaker 2: But the whole thing is for me to to be
- 9:18Speaker 2: much more in control. And I do feel like getting
- 9:21Speaker 2: out of the madness of Sydney. The days that I
- 9:23Speaker 2: don't have to work are just a joy and an
- 9:26Speaker 2: absolute gift. And I feel like I am then really
- 9:29Speaker 2: taking a break and I yeah, there's.
- 9:31Speaker 3: More time for me down here.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Just that interestingly that that actual that physical separation from
- 9:39Speaker 2: being in a metropolis has really it's been incredibly beneficial
- 9:44Speaker 2: for the time when I'm not working. It for like
- 9:46Speaker 2: it's like like a double dose of time off.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That's sort of what it feels like. But I don't
- 9:52Speaker 3: want to work.
- 9:53Speaker 2: It's out as I used to have sorid have done that.
- 9:54Speaker 2: So now they're pet projects and passion projects. Put it
- 9:58Speaker 2: that way, their passion projects.
- 9:59Speaker 1: For me, this is a weird This is a weird question,
- 10:02Speaker 1: but you'll probably get it. So you and I around
- 10:05Speaker 1: the same age. You might be a year or two
- 10:06Speaker 1: old younger. I don't know. I'm not going to ask,
- 10:09Speaker 1: but what I want to know is how old do
- 10:11Speaker 1: you feel?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Like?
- 10:12Speaker 1: How old? And I know that's done, but I feel
- 10:15Speaker 1: around thirty five to forty. Clearly I'm not, but intens
- 10:20Speaker 1: with my mind, my body, my energy, my meal like
- 10:24Speaker 1: I feel thirty five to forty, And I think because
- 10:27Speaker 1: I work a lot and I have a lot of fun.
- 10:29Speaker 1: I laugh like a fucking idiot all day. I work
- 10:32Speaker 1: with great people. I'm still studying full time as a
- 10:34Speaker 1: student doing a doctorate. I do my job. I fucking
- 10:38Speaker 1: love I travel and talk to people about shit I'm
- 10:42Speaker 1: passionate about and they give me money. It's ridiculous. So
- 10:45Speaker 1: I feel I feel younger than I am.
- 10:48Speaker 2: What about you, I look, I feel ageless, to be
- 10:53Speaker 2: honest with you, I like having a laugh, and I
- 10:59Speaker 2: like taking the piers, and I like, you know, I've
- 11:03Speaker 2: got I surround myself with some really dear friends, some
- 11:06Speaker 2: really really dear friends, and I'm lucky to just be
- 11:09Speaker 2: able to count them on you know, probably less than
- 11:11Speaker 2: two hands. But I've got definitely like five seriously good friends.
- 11:15Speaker 2: And the people that I do surround myself will all
- 11:17Speaker 2: have an insanely stupid sense of humor.
- 11:20Speaker 3: So so there's a lot of laughter involved.
- 11:23Speaker 2: And therefore, because I hate taking anything too seriously that
- 11:26Speaker 2: I think is it's just you're just it's an ageless thing.
- 11:30Speaker 2: So in terms of how I look, well, fuck it,
- 11:32Speaker 2: that's the way I look. I don't do anything and
- 11:34Speaker 2: I don't shove anything in there. I don't have any
- 11:36Speaker 2: any stuff that trying to makes me look look at
- 11:38Speaker 2: but younger, and I am what I am. I'm trying
- 11:40Speaker 2: to age gracefully. In terms of my body, well.
- 11:43Speaker 3: You know, there's a bit of wear and tear and
- 11:47Speaker 3: so what can I say?
- 11:48Speaker 2: You know, my knees aren't that great, and you know,
- 11:51Speaker 2: I'm not going to go into all that bullshit, but
- 11:53Speaker 2: there's shit going on. So I spend a lot of
- 11:55Speaker 2: time seeing sort of chiropractice. And you know, I had
- 11:58Speaker 2: a neck operation years ago and had a few here
- 12:00Speaker 2: I am. I'm sixty, so it's like, okay, that was
- 12:03Speaker 2: done ninety ninety five. So there's just wear and tear
- 12:06Speaker 2: that everybody has, and so sometimes and that probably makes
- 12:09Speaker 2: me feel a bit older. It's the body that's giving away.
- 12:12Speaker 2: But the attitude, no way, And honestly, I just I
- 12:17Speaker 2: just want to be silly and stupid. It never take
- 12:19Speaker 2: anything too seriously or take anything for branded. You look.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You look annoyingly healthy, and you certainly don't look your age,
- 12:27Speaker 1: but anyway.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Must maybe it's all the pino.
- 12:30Speaker 1: I don't know, shout out, shout out to all the drinkers.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I often say.
- 12:37Speaker 3: To people, it's a preservative, right.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think in moderation, you're on it.
- 12:43Speaker 3: That's it.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I often say to guests. When you're a kid, what
- 12:46Speaker 1: did you want to be? But when you were a kid,
- 12:48Speaker 1: you were already it like when you're a kid. You
- 12:52Speaker 1: were on the front of Cosmo magazine. You were an
- 12:55Speaker 1: international model when you were still when most of us
- 12:58Speaker 1: are finishing school. Yeah, well not even close to finishing school,
- 13:02Speaker 1: like a few years away. You were already get setting
- 13:05Speaker 1: around the world and sticking your face on meg or
- 13:07Speaker 1: being photographed.
- 13:08Speaker 4: All.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Yeah, what's the good and bad of that?
- 13:13Speaker 2: Interestingly enough, And I talk about this when I do
- 13:16Speaker 2: kids other stuff. I wanted to be a primary school
- 13:19Speaker 2: teacher ever since I could remember. That was that's what
- 13:22Speaker 2: I thought I was always going to be. And I
- 13:24Speaker 2: can't imagine a worse primary school teacher. But because a
- 13:28Speaker 2: woman doesn't have any children anyway.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I just you know, what do I look?
- 13:33Speaker 2: I I it's interesting because when I left home and
- 13:38Speaker 2: I left school at sixteen, I kind of just walked
- 13:41Speaker 2: away from it all. I didn't have a bloody clue
- 13:44Speaker 2: and it was I sort of tinked around, thought maybe
- 13:47Speaker 2: I'm a big bottom. I don't know, but like I
- 13:49Speaker 2: was just you know, I pimply skin, annoying your hair,
- 13:52Speaker 2: and you know it was And it.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Was my boyfriend at the time and said you could
- 13:57Speaker 3: really do this.
- 13:57Speaker 2: Well you actually said it in a mortar ble wal
- 13:59Speaker 2: gear and you could really do this, and.
- 14:04Speaker 3: So, you know, I because there was no grand plan.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I have literally everything that comes my way, every opportunity.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Every time I turn a corner and see something different,
- 14:16Speaker 2: I go oh, and someone.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Says, what about this? So what about that? And I go, yeah,
- 14:20Speaker 3: let's get bat to go. Why not? So, I think
- 14:23Speaker 3: because there was no structure to it.
- 14:27Speaker 2: And because everything I saw was an opportunity. And I
- 14:31Speaker 2: never took anything for granted because I didn't know what
- 14:34Speaker 2: was around the corner. I had no idea, and so
- 14:37Speaker 2: I just threw myself into everything. And I think because
- 14:41Speaker 2: of that, I've always been very open. I'm and I'm
- 14:43Speaker 2: very open person. I talk about stuff. I'll sailor to anybody.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I will literally saylo to anybody. I'll just start conversations
- 14:50Speaker 2: with people and elevators and lighting up. You know, I
- 14:53Speaker 2: went one of my boyfriends lining up for a virgin flight,
- 14:55Speaker 2: was late and next thing you know, we're going out,
- 14:58Speaker 2: and you know.
- 14:59Speaker 5: So, I I don't know if it answers your questionm
- 15:01Speaker 5: but but I think it's a fluidness, the openness, the
- 15:06Speaker 5: fact that I'm grateful for everything that comes along.
- 15:11Speaker 2: And I think it's because of that, that potentially is
- 15:14Speaker 2: why I've had this long jellity, I suppose, and just
- 15:18Speaker 2: willing to give stuff a go. And I suppose that's
- 15:21Speaker 2: a bit of there's fear that goes with it. But
- 15:24Speaker 2: at the same time, it's like, well, what have I
- 15:26Speaker 2: got to lose? I've got everything to learn and nothing
- 15:28Speaker 2: to lose.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's interesting how some people successful people like there's there's
- 15:33Speaker 1: probably ten groups, but there's two groups that kind of
- 15:36Speaker 1: stick out to me. One is they have this clear vision,
- 15:39Speaker 1: they have this strategy, they have this structure, this process,
- 15:42Speaker 1: all these goals, these fucking KPIs just to do list,
- 15:47Speaker 1: you know, regular fucking check ins and that very very
- 15:51Speaker 1: cerebral and strategic. And then there's another group like you
- 15:54Speaker 1: that like freestyle's just going to do shit. I love
- 15:58Speaker 1: like free reigns, the free ranger, the free range humans
- 16:02Speaker 1: just bug and wander around, pecking here and there. Yeah, yeah, nah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I don't want to do that, but yeah I'll do that.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Oh that's all right, No that shit, I'll stop that.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I'll do more of that, less of that. It doesn't
- 16:14Speaker 1: sound like I mean, of course, there needs to be
- 16:16Speaker 1: a bit of strategy when you're developing a business. And
- 16:19Speaker 1: a brand like you have. But I think for the
- 16:21Speaker 1: most part you sound kind of free range.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Look, I think that's a great way to put it.
- 16:26Speaker 2: It was only it was only about twenty years ago
- 16:28Speaker 2: I realized that I was I was actually self employed,
- 16:30Speaker 2: and actually, you know, self employed my whole life. So
- 16:34Speaker 2: I just go, all, I'm a contractor and I've always
- 16:36Speaker 2: had these things, and they've been very generous, long term
- 16:39Speaker 2: contracts with a lot of sort of iconic companies, straighting companies.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I suppose that's what I've kept the profile. But yeah,
- 16:45Speaker 2: it's I think it's definitely free range.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Is great. I haven't I must use that. I love that.
- 16:52Speaker 3: You're welcome in my next keynote. I love that. And
- 16:56Speaker 3: I think it also comes.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Down to then knowing as much being able to say
- 17:03Speaker 2: no to something as it is to say yes to something,
- 17:07Speaker 2: because I think when you when you start looking at
- 17:11Speaker 2: yourself as a per se, as a brand per se,
- 17:14Speaker 2: then and then you go okay, you know, and also
- 17:17Speaker 2: just your intuitiveness and your gut feeling on stuff is
- 17:21Speaker 2: really something you got to tune into and then you go, yeah,
- 17:24Speaker 2: that's absolutely that is that's a great fit.
- 17:26Speaker 3: That feels right.
- 17:27Speaker 2: That's fantastic, love to get together, let's do a colab
- 17:30Speaker 2: and do something fantastic, love to work with you.
- 17:32Speaker 3: And then you go nah, they go, yeah, but look
- 17:35Speaker 3: look at the money, and no, it's not always money.
- 17:38Speaker 2: It's about I'm sorry, I just think that's a shitty
- 17:40Speaker 2: product and as bullshit. So that's not really good. It
- 17:43Speaker 2: doesn't matter what it is. So I honestly think it's
- 17:45Speaker 2: it's really being selective about the about watch watch area
- 17:51Speaker 2: of the tippin that you go and peck in. That's
- 17:55Speaker 2: a really big, big part of it. But but I've
- 17:58Speaker 2: also you know, Rebecca give I did a cover what
- 18:01Speaker 2: Ones Weekly cover years and years ago, and we were
- 18:04Speaker 2: sitting there getting her head done. And when she was
- 18:06Speaker 2: sitting there putting plugs in her hair, and she's hating
- 18:08Speaker 2: me because I'm trying to God.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Loves what hair alls no hair anyway, So she.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Says to me, I'm just chadding and she said, you know,
- 18:17Speaker 2: three things dead she said, I've always I've always lived
- 18:19Speaker 2: by because talking about longevity of.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Career, and she said, you turn.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Up on time, you know your lines, and you just
- 18:28Speaker 2: really nice to everyone else you work with. I went, Beck,
- 18:31Speaker 2: that's exactly always been my thing.
- 18:33Speaker 3: I turn up one time. I'm a highly punched a person.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I basically prepare for everything, so if it's key of
- 18:40Speaker 2: whatever it is, I never just smiled, well to go
- 18:42Speaker 2: by the seat of my pants.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Are absolutely forget preparation, and then I just.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Go, oh, I'm not even though I might be the
- 18:47Speaker 2: based on the camera, I'm one little part of the
- 18:51Speaker 2: team that's putting whatever this is together.
- 18:53Speaker 3: And I was really interesting because I've never forgot that.
- 18:56Speaker 3: It was one of the things.
- 18:57Speaker 2: We just went your snap and I think they're my
- 19:01Speaker 2: three set of principles.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I think I think they're good. I think also I
- 19:05Speaker 1: love it. I'm a bit the same. I'm Melissa's a
- 19:08Speaker 1: lot more. Melissa is really my boss, and she runs
- 19:12Speaker 1: the you project. I just talk, but she's a lot
- 19:15Speaker 1: more marketing, branding strategy, but still a bit organic. But
- 19:19Speaker 1: she's very cross the t's dot the eyes.
- 19:22Speaker 2: You know.
- 19:23Speaker 1: She has to fucking manage me because I'm like a
- 19:25Speaker 1: dog with three dicks, just running around excited at everything.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I'm glad that it's just a head and
- 19:31Speaker 2: shoulder assumed that we're doing today.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Oh you tell everyone, that's sure, that's she says that
- 19:37Speaker 1: everyone that, but just that, like I think also the
- 19:44Speaker 1: the ability to or the willingness or the desire to
- 19:48Speaker 1: just make decisions that are you know, not stupid decisions,
- 19:51Speaker 1: but more gut, more instinct, more intuition, and sometimes like
- 19:56Speaker 1: I've made decisions as have you, I'm sure, in and
- 19:58Speaker 1: around business and even sponsorship of this show, like we've
- 20:02Speaker 1: been off at a few really good in terms of
- 20:04Speaker 1: lucrative things sponsors, and I can't do it right because
- 20:08Speaker 1: it doesn't fit with how I doesn't pit with my values,
- 20:11Speaker 1: and it's not a judgment on them, it's just like
- 20:14Speaker 1: I can't sell that for you because that's definitely not
- 20:17Speaker 1: me right. And then there are other times where something
- 20:22Speaker 1: seems really on the surface, will this makes all the sense,
- 20:25Speaker 1: This is logical, it's practical, and there's something where I go,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I know it seems good, but I don't think it is.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And a few times I've gone with it because it
- 20:35Speaker 1: just seemed like I guess, and then I went, this
- 20:38Speaker 1: is shit. And other times where I've said no, and
- 20:41Speaker 1: then it's proven to be the absolute right choice almost,
- 20:45Speaker 1: I think, like the funny thing and as I said
- 20:48Speaker 1: to you before, like I'm literally studying the brain in
- 20:50Speaker 1: the mind, you know, in my research, and I believe
- 20:54Speaker 1: that there's another level of intelligence, awareness and understanding and
- 20:58Speaker 1: knowledge that doesn't come through what we've been taught or
- 21:01Speaker 1: even what we've seen or where we've been. There's like
- 21:03Speaker 1: something that where the fuck comes from? I don't know,
- 21:06Speaker 1: but it's there for a reason. And I think we
- 21:09Speaker 1: don't listen in inverted comments enough.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah, look, I one hundred percent agree with that. Look,
- 21:16Speaker 2: if you want to go there, it's kind of past
- 21:17Speaker 2: lives or whatever you've you've come through stuff. It comes
- 21:21Speaker 2: through from all different directions. And I think, you know,
- 21:27Speaker 2: that's that's an important part of knowing who you are
- 21:31Speaker 2: and tapping tapping into that. I think it's it's important
- 21:35Speaker 2: because not everything makes sense on paper. Not everything you
- 21:38Speaker 2: can't just nothing's just so two dimensional. It's just so
- 21:44Speaker 2: much more to it.
- 21:46Speaker 4: You know.
- 21:46Speaker 2: And and for me, I you know, I I didn't like, I.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Didn't I didn't do any tertiary education. I didn't even
- 21:54Speaker 3: finish my HC.
- 21:56Speaker 2: I basically, you know, I went to New York at eighteen,
- 21:58Speaker 2: and I I have my learnings have come through being.
- 22:03Speaker 3: On the road. It's the road of life, and I
- 22:06Speaker 3: have learned through people.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I mean, that's the greatest learning thing is the experience,
- 22:11Speaker 2: is the relationships you have with people, those who really
- 22:14Speaker 2: enjoy those you can't stand those, all those you know,
- 22:18Speaker 2: recencies in lifetime, people that come in, that's where you learn.
- 22:22Speaker 3: If you're intuitive and you're picking up on that.
- 22:25Speaker 2: You know, when I was much younger, you know, I
- 22:27Speaker 2: would just I suppose I didn't know what it was,
- 22:30Speaker 2: but I was looking at people around me, and I
- 22:32Speaker 2: was looking at them, not that I even knew what
- 22:35Speaker 2: to call it, but obviously they were a mentor in
- 22:37Speaker 2: some way, you know. I mean I worked you know,
- 22:41Speaker 2: God love Maggie Tabor. I mean, yeah, he was a
- 22:45Speaker 2: she is an incredible woman. But I worked with her
- 22:47Speaker 2: in a modeling sense, and then I just we stayed friends.
- 22:50Speaker 2: And she's been, you know, just such an impact in
- 22:53Speaker 2: my earlier life. And I've had different people that have
- 22:56Speaker 2: come in. And I suppose when you're a bit younger
- 22:58Speaker 2: and you're trying to figure out who you are, it
- 23:00Speaker 2: takes a long time to figure out who.
- 23:02Speaker 3: You are and you know you and I think you
- 23:07Speaker 3: just to get.
- 23:08Speaker 2: To stage in life where you can put a mirror
- 23:10Speaker 2: and go No, I'm actually I'm pretty I'm pretty.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Happy with that person.
- 23:14Speaker 2: But I can't tell you seriously, Greg, it took me
- 23:18Speaker 2: years to get to there.
- 23:20Speaker 3: It took decades for me to get to there. It's
- 23:23Speaker 3: that whole fake it do you make it thing?
- 23:24Speaker 1: You know I want to do? You want to hear
- 23:26Speaker 1: my theory on it? Yeah, see, here's what I reckon.
- 23:30Speaker 1: It's just my working theory.
- 23:31Speaker 5: Everyone.
- 23:32Speaker 1: It could be completely fucking wrong. I reckon. It's really
- 23:35Speaker 1: hard when you're guy or girl, doesn't matter. But in
- 23:38Speaker 1: your case, a young lady, you're beautiful and everyone knows
- 23:42Speaker 1: you're beautiful, and you're getting work because you're beautiful.
- 23:45Speaker 6: Your job is literally be beautiful. We're going to take
- 23:47Speaker 6: pictures of you. You're beautiful, and you've got to be
- 23:50Speaker 6: in shape and gorgeous, and that's your literally, that's your currency.
- 23:54Speaker 6: So of course your sense of self and self worth
- 23:58Speaker 6: will at least be partly, if not totally, tied to
- 24:03Speaker 6: that physical representation. Right, So, we want your we want you.
- 24:09Speaker 6: We're going to give you money, we're going to sign you.
- 24:11Speaker 6: You're going to be important, you're going to be This
- 24:13Speaker 6: the wrong word, but it's kind of right. A commodity,
- 24:16Speaker 6: a tradable commodity and sell your face and da, da da,
- 24:20Speaker 6: How the fuck do you come out of that.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Being not completely fucked in the head? And do you
- 24:27Speaker 1: know what I mean? How do you be sane? And
- 24:30Speaker 1: how do you not how do you not have a gigantic, destructive,
- 24:34Speaker 1: toxic ego? And also how do you so many questions
- 24:38Speaker 1: HAPs how do you how do you have a sense
- 24:41Speaker 1: of who I am beyond what you look like?
- 24:46Speaker 2: I think that's a look, that's a very it's a
- 24:48Speaker 2: very good question, and you're absolutely right in terms of
- 24:52Speaker 2: modeling in such an I and I remember I did
- 24:54Speaker 2: it for six years, and I was I was very
- 24:57Speaker 2: fortunate that I could that I picked up.
- 25:00Speaker 3: I picked up like Grace Brothers hence you know Grace
- 25:01Speaker 3: Brother's mine. I worked with them through because that was
- 25:03Speaker 3: the first time that I.
- 25:05Speaker 2: That I could actually have a contribution of some kind
- 25:08Speaker 2: other than just smile there and wear these clothes.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Right. So I literally lasted modeling.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It's in essential thing as for six years and I
- 25:16Speaker 2: got so fucking bored with it. I smoked so many
- 25:19Speaker 2: cigarettes and I can only so many scarves that you
- 25:21Speaker 2: can knit, And.
- 25:22Speaker 3: It was like, you know, what I just like, enough
- 25:24Speaker 3: is enough. So I was very.
- 25:25Speaker 2: Fortunate to get away from that and then go and
- 25:27Speaker 2: work with the marketing department. And then then I learned
- 25:30Speaker 2: how to get up in front of you know, crowds
- 25:33Speaker 2: and speak to people and interview people. And that was
- 25:35Speaker 2: my one step, my huge step out of that, you know,
- 25:39Speaker 2: getting up and doing commercials. Doing speaking commercials is a
- 25:41Speaker 2: big deal. Oh my god, you actually want me to
- 25:43Speaker 2: say something, wow.
- 25:45Speaker 3: And so then you know so, and then the steps
- 25:49Speaker 3: you know, you do that, and then the next thing
- 25:51Speaker 3: you know, you know. I mean, I remember when I got.
- 25:53Speaker 2: The call from Nannie King, who was one of the
- 25:55Speaker 2: greatest magazine editors of all time, when she said, I
- 25:58Speaker 2: want you to come on as the beauty editor, and.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I thought, oh the fuck. I'm not a journalist, but yeah, great.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I'd been in the fashion beauty.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Industry and I and I you know, I'm working with
- 26:10Speaker 2: mya for fifteen years.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I learned a lot about retail.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I learn a lot about how to market and retailing
- 26:16Speaker 2: experience and working with customers and so all that information.
- 26:20Speaker 2: And then it's like, Okay, now we're going to go
- 26:22Speaker 2: into publications and we're going to have a voice of
- 26:25Speaker 2: a different kind. So I'm very fortunate that the roles
- 26:29Speaker 2: that I took on, even though they still obviously needed
- 26:33Speaker 2: my face, and then it became my voice, and then
- 26:37Speaker 2: it's and then it's like and over time, obviously I've
- 26:40Speaker 2: had much more important I've you know, started different businesses
- 26:43Speaker 2: and whatever. But I but I think, look, it is
- 26:48Speaker 2: what it is. That's modeling industries. It's definitely going to
- 26:50Speaker 2: You're going to have hang ups. I still have a
- 26:52Speaker 2: hang up. I'm sixty. I still look at it and.
- 26:55Speaker 3: Go, bloody, hell, am I really? Am I really? Do
- 26:58Speaker 3: I really have more metopause tummy? And do I really
- 27:00Speaker 3: do I have to inherit my mother's thighs? Did I
- 27:03Speaker 3: really have to my mother's eyes? And I'm turning it
- 27:08Speaker 3: to my mother about okay? And so yeah, look, you
- 27:11Speaker 3: know it's it's a very image driven. Decades of being
- 27:15Speaker 3: image driven. How do I get over that? I don
- 27:17Speaker 3: I still have some.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Issues around image that I go, well, you know, as
- 27:23Speaker 2: I get older it's I careless but whatever. But yeah,
- 27:26Speaker 2: I've just been lucky, I think in terms of just
- 27:29Speaker 2: learning life and being in the right environment with the
- 27:33Speaker 2: right people, And therefore I've managed to get through that
- 27:37Speaker 2: thing where it's just you're just a face and a voice.
- 27:40Speaker 1: So I also think you probably underestimate how how much
- 27:47Speaker 1: you you have been in a learning curve for you know,
- 27:52Speaker 1: forty years, forty five years, right, because no, you didn't
- 27:56Speaker 1: go to university and you didn't finish year twelve, but
- 27:59Speaker 1: you've constantly been at the coal face of experiential learning
- 28:02Speaker 1: like you, and you continue to learn, right, You're doing
- 28:05Speaker 1: new things, you're starting new businesses, you're having new adventures,
- 28:08Speaker 1: you're solving problems, you're resolving conflict, you're creating I mean,
- 28:13Speaker 1: all of these things are learning. And it's just that
- 28:15Speaker 1: in our culture, for some stupid reason, we don't value
- 28:19Speaker 1: that kind of all. We don't hold that kind of
- 28:21Speaker 1: learning or education or knowledge or understanding in the same esteem.
- 28:26Speaker 1: And you know, a lot of the smartest I'm just
- 28:29Speaker 1: talking about intellect, right. People confuse qualifications with intelligence or
- 28:35Speaker 1: PhDs or masters or whatever. And by the way, if
- 28:38Speaker 1: you've got one, that's great, and you might be a genius,
- 28:40Speaker 1: but also you might not be. But also maybe you
- 28:43Speaker 1: finish school at year nine and you're a fucking genius
- 28:46Speaker 1: as well. Like education and intelligence aren't necessarily correlated. Some
- 28:51Speaker 1: of the smartest people that I know. My training partner
- 28:54Speaker 1: finished school at year ten or eleven, who everyone knows
- 28:58Speaker 1: lovingly as the crab training partner. He's ten times smarter
- 29:02Speaker 1: than me. I'm a fucking wombat compared to him. You know,
- 29:05Speaker 1: he's just smart and he figures it out that I
- 29:08Speaker 1: cannot figure out. And by the way, if you get
- 29:11Speaker 1: stuck on an island where someone don't get stuck with me,
- 29:13Speaker 1: you'll be dead by lunchtime. He will build a city
- 29:16Speaker 1: by fucking January. Right, Yeah, Like, you know.
- 29:20Speaker 3: What, what I've bought.
- 29:21Speaker 2: One of my things that I just I live by
- 29:25Speaker 2: is always surround yourself with people who are smarter than you.
- 29:28Speaker 3: And I do that.
- 29:30Speaker 2: I do that because I know my deficiencies. I know
- 29:35Speaker 2: what I'm not good at, and I know what I'm
- 29:37Speaker 2: good at, and so I have you know, I have
- 29:40Speaker 2: people around me that not only they're providing an incredible
- 29:44Speaker 2: service in terms of you know, bookkeepers and.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Accountants for like you know, only twenty five thirty years.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I've got people around me, and I've just got friends
- 29:53Speaker 2: that I just they're smarter than me, and I lean
- 29:56Speaker 2: on them.
- 29:57Speaker 3: And and sure if it makes you know, for I go, okay,
- 30:01Speaker 3: that's great.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I've got to cover because I'm not the smartest, you know,
- 30:05Speaker 2: I'm I'm sort of street smart and I.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Do what I can.
- 30:09Speaker 2: But I I've got some as I go back, I've
- 30:14Speaker 2: got some seriously good people, and I'm.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Not embarrassed to reach out and go, I'm the last
- 30:20Speaker 3: year does you want to do?
- 30:22Speaker 2: And then? And that's why you have your mates and
- 30:25Speaker 2: the ones that will stand by you, you know, in
- 30:26Speaker 2: times where you're just a little bit confused and need
- 30:29Speaker 2: a bit of an arrow pointing in the right direction.
- 30:32Speaker 1: But intelligence also is fluid, like it depends. In certain situations,
- 30:37Speaker 1: you will be wildly smarter, more capable, and more in
- 30:40Speaker 1: tune than me. In something else, I'll be the smart one, right,
- 30:44Speaker 1: It depends. It's situation dependent, task dependent, role dependent, environment dependent.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Like there, Like intelligence is a really big, big what
- 30:57Speaker 1: we call in science construct or thing. It's intelligence is
- 31:01Speaker 1: not a thing, it's a fucking hundred things. I mean,
- 31:05Speaker 1: you're socially and emotionally intelligent, highly intelligent because why because
- 31:11Speaker 1: you've been around people since you're fifteen, communicating, connecting, relating, developing, rapport,
- 31:17Speaker 1: reading people, reading rooms, navigating and negotiating the human experience
- 31:23Speaker 1: and working for yourself. And one of the byproducts of
- 31:26Speaker 1: that is that you're highly highly emotionally socially intelligent. Right,
- 31:30Speaker 1: But then you get other people who are academically intelligent.
- 31:33Speaker 1: You put them in front of room to deliver a message.
- 31:36Speaker 1: And I've seen it, like you get on stage with
- 31:38Speaker 1: your year ten qual and you fucking kill it and
- 31:41Speaker 1: you wow the crowd and you create engagement and you
- 31:44Speaker 1: read the room and you create a beautiful experience. Or
- 31:46Speaker 1: they put you in front of a camera, lights in
- 31:48Speaker 1: your face, make up all over your holding a mic
- 31:51Speaker 1: and you crush it. You put someone with a high
- 31:53Speaker 1: IQ in that situation, maybe they're brilliant, typically not. So
- 31:59Speaker 1: you know, it's not a thing, it's many things.
- 32:01Speaker 3: So yes, very true.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Yeah, So what do you think you're going to be
- 32:06Speaker 1: doing in five or ten years? Is that house going
- 32:08Speaker 1: to be built and you're going to be sitting back
- 32:09Speaker 1: on the porch looking at the bloody ocean or what?
- 32:12Speaker 3: Well, that's the plan.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Honestly, it's probably at least four years away. So at
- 32:18Speaker 2: the moment I'm learning again, I'm learning about subsort of drainage.
- 32:23Speaker 2: You know, drill reads, civil engineering, what all that means.
- 32:27Speaker 2: So learning a've bit of learning curve there. And this
- 32:32Speaker 2: is a very different build to to where I wasn't bronting.
- 32:34Speaker 2: So it's another big project. But at the moment, I'm.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Just honestly just with what's going on in the world.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I just want to just sit. And so I bought
- 32:43Speaker 2: this block of land with a DA already approved for
- 32:46Speaker 2: a magnificent house, one of my favorite architects. And then
- 32:50Speaker 2: now I've been living here for six months and an
- 32:52Speaker 2: at nah, I need to redesign the house and I
- 32:55Speaker 2: don't want it to be this and I want it
- 32:57Speaker 2: to be that. So I'm just going to take a
- 32:59Speaker 2: breath out and and.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Five years we should. I just hope that my knee
- 33:04Speaker 3: holds out.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I hope I'm sitting in my little house that is
- 33:10Speaker 2: that feels like me. I hope that I'm still you know,
- 33:16Speaker 2: I hope that I still got these beautiful people in
- 33:18Speaker 2: my life that I love dearly.
- 33:21Speaker 3: I still want to be working, but I'm normally working
- 33:23Speaker 3: that hard.
- 33:24Speaker 2: I made my passion of I said, these, you know,
- 33:26Speaker 2: these the hats is a huge passion because of all
- 33:30Speaker 2: my skin cancer and you know, that's an area that
- 33:33Speaker 2: really interests me to to help others.
- 33:35Speaker 3: That's kind of become a passion thing, is true.
- 33:38Speaker 2: And yeah, look but I've never been able to answer
- 33:42Speaker 2: that question to any point when they say we're gonna
- 33:43Speaker 2: be five years time fucked.
- 33:44Speaker 3: If I know, I'm just happy to be around. Take that.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Take that stupid fucking question out, Melissa, dumb ass now
- 33:53Speaker 1: now just quickly before we let you go. Following on
- 33:56Speaker 1: from course, had a couple of bouts of skin cancer.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, pretty pretty hairy infiltrating BCCs. So the thing
- 34:05Speaker 2: that people don't understand, Look, melanone is a killer. And
- 34:09Speaker 2: then just below that, since sccs and BCCs and if
- 34:12Speaker 2: they're and if they're left unattended, some of them can
- 34:15Speaker 2: still get into the bloodstream and cause a problem. So
- 34:18Speaker 2: so yeah, I had I had on ten nine years ago,
- 34:22Speaker 2: ten ars ago, and then it unfortunately, it came back
- 34:26Speaker 2: in a particular area.
- 34:27Speaker 3: If there's anything around the nose lip.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Chin area, it's like a little freeway for cancer cells
- 34:33Speaker 2: to pass through, and if there's been any former surgery,
- 34:37Speaker 2: that's the trauma area and they tend to target. So
- 34:40Speaker 2: it came back two years ago pretty significant, had a
- 34:44Speaker 2: very serious.
- 34:45Speaker 3: You know, flat surgery anyway, all good, you know, and
- 34:50Speaker 3: so I just you know, it's so funny.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Out of the hundreds of thousands of photographs that I
- 34:57Speaker 2: have had taken since in seventy eight, I reckon the
- 35:02Speaker 2: photograph that I posted of the really ugly cancer ugly
- 35:07Speaker 2: skin cancer scar that I posted on Instagram.
- 35:11Speaker 3: It was probably the most important photograph I've ever I've
- 35:13Speaker 3: ever had taken ever, because it.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Went viral, and that was first I really understood how
- 35:21Speaker 2: positive and good social media could really be. And it
- 35:24Speaker 2: just opened up this world. And I can't tell you.
- 35:27Speaker 2: I keep getting letters from people today saying thank you,
- 35:31Speaker 2: thank you for keep pushing the message. So you know,
- 35:34Speaker 2: I did something on Channel seven this year called skin Deep,
- 35:36Speaker 2: and so I try to keep pushing that message, and
- 35:38Speaker 2: I still get all these people saying, wow, I've not
- 35:41Speaker 2: gone to chase it up, had I had not had
- 35:43Speaker 2: my skin checked.
- 35:45Speaker 3: You know.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I found it it was melanoma. I found out it
- 35:47Speaker 2: was this and thank you, thank you, thank you. So
- 35:50Speaker 2: so that is just being worth it. It's just been
- 35:54Speaker 2: worth it for that, and it continues to be something
- 35:57Speaker 2: that people are inspiring me because I can see what's happening.
- 36:02Speaker 2: And look, I've been through two significant surgeries on my
- 36:06Speaker 2: face and ship skin heels.
- 36:07Speaker 3: Right, it's fine, you get it out, you move on.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Don't be scared because skin heels and you've just got
- 36:15Speaker 2: to go and get it checked. So so yeah, I
- 36:17Speaker 2: think that's you know, I just feel that going in
- 36:21Speaker 2: the future.
- 36:22Speaker 3: For me, it's a really this is this is austronym,
- 36:25Speaker 3: is the is this skin cancer country of the world.
- 36:31Speaker 2: And we need to be really onto that, you know, personally,
- 36:35Speaker 2: take responsibility for the younger generation to know the damage.
- 36:39Speaker 2: So it's trying to protect yourself and my generation this generation.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Just get yourself checked. That's two big, big messages. That's
- 36:46Speaker 2: why cannopy Bay has been such a beautiful project for
- 36:48Speaker 2: me because I also get to go out and talk
- 36:50Speaker 2: about it and meet people, and everyone I speak to
- 36:53Speaker 2: is here's my this is my scar, this is what happened,
- 36:55Speaker 2: this is this and this and this and the other end,
- 36:57Speaker 2: and it's it's very very rewarded.
- 37:00Speaker 1: So yeah, let's point people towards that. So canopy Bay,
- 37:03Speaker 1: dot canopy Bay one word, dot com, dot au is
- 37:06Speaker 1: Deborah's site for that and all that that stuff. And
- 37:10Speaker 1: also house dot com dot au go check that out.
- 37:14Speaker 1: You've got a lot of shit going on, also, Debrah
- 37:17Speaker 1: Hutton dot com. Yeah it's all there.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's good. It's all. It's all good.
- 37:25Speaker 3: I like I like the balance of everything. Now great a.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Woman who's not doing much, you're doing a lot. Your
- 37:33Speaker 1: version of lazy is everyone else's version of fucking chaotic.
- 37:37Speaker 1: But anyway, you know, I like.
- 37:39Speaker 2: To I don't like to be married, but I love
- 37:42Speaker 2: having my own time. I love, you know, just exercising, walking.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I'm never bored. I'm never I've never been bored in
- 37:49Speaker 3: my life.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Even if I've got nothing to do, there's always something
- 37:53Speaker 2: that's going to entertain me, amuse me, interest me, have curiosity,
- 37:59Speaker 2: whatever it is. And I think if you've got that,
- 38:02Speaker 2: you remain ageless.
- 38:04Speaker 3: You can talk to anybody. That's what I think. I'm
- 38:07Speaker 3: I think I'm very very lucky. I'm very lucky.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Well I think you've created a bit of that luck too,
- 38:14Speaker 1: debrahat and your ace, your ace, you're a big deal.
- 38:17Speaker 1: You're a big fucking deal. And we're super happy that
