- 1:11Speaker 2: You said it right.
- 1:12Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Thank you. Thank you.
- 1:14Speaker 2: That was so, I love you. I love you too.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Thank you so much.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Great friends.
- 1:20Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I love you, too.
- 1:22Speaker 3: There's so much love here.
- 1:23Speaker 2: It's a big love fest.
- 1:24Speaker 6: Yes, it is.
- 1:25Speaker 4: It is.
- 1:26Speaker 5: I just met you guys recently.
- 1:29Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I feel like I've known you forever.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Correct.
- 1:34Speaker 5: We just connected, and I just feel very comfortable with
- 1:39Speaker 5: you guys.
- 1:40Speaker 6: I agree. I know you.
- 1:41Speaker 5: You know, for a long time.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Now we bonded completely.
- 1:47Speaker 3: We bonded completely.
- 1:48Speaker 1: We, we, you know, it's, it's funny because you and
- 1:51Speaker 1: I met similar ways to mom and Jackie and I,
- 1:54Speaker 1: we met on Tik TOK, believe it or not.
- 1:56Speaker 3: And, um, you know, after we met and, you know.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Online, we decided to do something together. We did a
- 2:04Speaker 1: blog and, um, And then, you know, our relationship continued.
- 2:09Speaker 1: We'd talk on the phone, we'd help each other, give
- 2:11Speaker 1: each other advice about what we were doing, you know,
- 2:14Speaker 1: because we both have the same, you know, career that
- 2:19Speaker 1: we're doing.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Right now with the food blogging and the cooking and
- 2:22Speaker 3: the influencing. So we would bounce ideas off one another.
- 2:26Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:27Speaker 1: And when we met, we just felt like, wow, we've
- 2:29Speaker 1: known each other forever.
- 2:31Speaker 6: And then we reunited. Yes, we did. Yes, we did.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 5: I know you reunited on... A show.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 2:42Speaker 5: And we can talk about it because it's aired already.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Yes.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's aired already.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Yes.
- 2:45Speaker 5: So they were on this wonderful show. It's 100 Cooks.
- 2:48Speaker 2: 100 Cooks.
- 2:49Speaker 3: 100 Cooks and Food Network.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Right. With also with Danielle Committee. Yes.
- 2:54Speaker 3: I love her.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Yep.
- 2:55Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Yep. Yes. And a couple of girls that we all know.
- 3:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 5: Yeah. They were together.
- 3:03Speaker 3: So many.
- 3:06Speaker 1: You know, people that I followed on the, you know, that,
- 3:08Speaker 1: that you didn't know who was going to be on it.
- 3:10Speaker 1: It was the 100 of the best home cooks in America.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And we, we were chosen, but you know, the funny
- 3:16Speaker 1: story is this, this is a story. So I had
- 3:19Speaker 1: arrived and, um, I went down for coffee and all
- 3:22Speaker 1: of a sudden I'm in the lobby and I look
- 3:25Speaker 1: and I took a double take and I see mama.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I went up to her, tapped her on the back.
- 3:30Speaker 1: She looked at me for about maybe 20 minutes.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Not that long. But I was in shock.
- 3:35Speaker 3: She was in shock. What are you doing here?
- 3:37Speaker 6: What are you doing here? I guess we're here.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And we like hugged and embraced and we were like.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You know, we both got chosen for the show, but
- 3:44Speaker 1: we couldn't tell anybody.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it was top secret.
- 3:46Speaker 6: Top secret. It was top secret.
- 3:48Speaker 2: So even all that time, we did not let on
- 3:50Speaker 2: to each other that we were on the show.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Food Network, we kept our word.
- 3:53Speaker 6: Right?
- 3:54Speaker 3: We kept our word.
- 3:55Speaker 2: We kept our word.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But it was so great to have somebody that I
- 3:59Speaker 1: personally knew. We were out there in California by ourselves,
- 4:02Speaker 1: you know, for up to three and a half weeks.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:05Speaker 3: It was a thrill that we were together. We were
- 4:07Speaker 3: on this and we were in the same group. So
- 4:09Speaker 3: we got to go on the bus together and it
- 4:11Speaker 3: was a lot of fun. And it's funny.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I saw Danielle and Anthony in the elevator and I
- 4:15Speaker 1: was like, we both like screamed and, uh, you.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Know, those two right off the bat I saw.
- 4:22Speaker 1: And then I saw some people that I followed and like,
- 4:25Speaker 1: tell me like when you saw me in the lobby,
- 4:27Speaker 1: what did you think?
- 4:28Speaker 2: I was in complete shock. Like she said, you know,
- 4:30Speaker 2: I didn't expect to see anybody there. So I'm just
- 4:33Speaker 2: wandering the lobby and all of a sudden, uh, you
- 4:35Speaker 2: turn around and I see her and I'm like, it really,
- 4:38Speaker 2: it took me a, I don't know, really, it was
- 4:40Speaker 2: like 30 seconds at least. That's a long time.
- 4:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 2: To kind of just put her, you know, the name
- 4:46Speaker 2: to the face and oh my God, it's you. And
- 4:49Speaker 2: so we had, it was a great.
- 4:50Speaker 5: You met each other in person?
- 4:51Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no. That we met each
- 4:53Speaker 2: other before. We, like she said, we hit it off. I,
- 4:57Speaker 2: I contacted her first because I was watching some of
- 5:00Speaker 2: her videos. I liked what I was.
- 5:01Speaker 5: It wasn't just online. You met each other. Right. Physically
- 5:05Speaker 5: in person. Right.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Because we just we hit it off. We started talking
- 5:08Speaker 2: on the phone. And the next thing you know, we
- 5:10Speaker 2: just became friendly and we went out.
- 5:12Speaker 3: For a beautiful dinner.
- 5:13Speaker 2: We did.
- 5:13Speaker 1: We got fed mozzarella being fed at Bar Mutz.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Robbie Felice. He's a he's a real famous chef. He
- 5:22Speaker 3: actually owned the place, and it was great.
- 5:24Speaker 5: That was a cool place.
- 5:25Speaker 2: But that was funny because we were going to meet
- 5:27Speaker 2: each other. It felt like we were going on a
- 5:28Speaker 2: dating app, right? So I was worried because I'm like,
- 5:32Speaker 2: why do I know she may be a mass murderer,
- 5:34Speaker 2: you know? So both of us brought a friend.
- 5:37Speaker 6: Yeah, we both brought a friend. That's true.
- 5:39Speaker 2: But we had a blast.
- 5:40Speaker 3: We had a lot of fun, some drinks.
- 5:42Speaker 6: It was good.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And that was it. The rest is history. We just began.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Can't get enough of each other.
- 5:47Speaker 5: I know.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I think I miss her so much when she goes home.
- 5:50Speaker 6: Yeah, so cute.
- 5:51Speaker 5: But you kind of know at this age, right, who
- 5:53Speaker 5: you're going to click with.
- 5:54Speaker 2: 100%. 100%.
- 5:56Speaker 6: Yes.
- 5:56Speaker 5: 100%.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Definitely.
- 5:58Speaker 4: You know who's good and who's not good or people
- 6:03Speaker 4: that you know that, yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 5: Let's keep it light or, you.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Know what, I really.
- 6:11Speaker 5: really, like, hang with this person.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Connect with them. The values, the traditions, the this, the that. Yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 2: people are. That's right.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Remember you said I was your spirit animal?
- 6:22Speaker 5: You too. I felt the same way.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Well, Ray, me and you were on the phone for
- 6:27Speaker 2: over an hour. First time we got on the phone.
- 6:30Speaker 2: We just kept yakking, and we're like two yakking owns
- 6:32Speaker 2: going on and on and on. It's the truth.
- 6:36Speaker 6: I love it. I love it.
- 6:38Speaker 5: It's so true that you get to, you know.
- 6:40Speaker 4: It's nice, I think, you know, it's something to be
- 6:44Speaker 4: said when you make friends with people when you get older, too.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Not easy to do. Yes.
- 6:50Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Not easy to do.
- 6:51Speaker 5: Because when you're young, well, you're kind of thrown with people, right?
- 6:54Speaker 5: That's right.
- 6:54Speaker 6: The same school. That's right.
- 6:56Speaker 5: The same church, whatever it is.
- 6:57Speaker 4: Those people, you kind of have, those are the ones
- 7:00Speaker 4: you get to be friends with because those, you're in
- 7:02Speaker 4: that situation with them.
- 7:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 7:04Speaker 5: It's all situational.
- 7:05Speaker 2: That's right, yeah.
- 7:05Speaker 5: High school, grammar school, whatever it is. Right. But when
- 7:09Speaker 5: you're older, you get to pick.
- 7:11Speaker 2: That's right.
- 7:12Speaker 6: Yes.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Yes.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Once you meet, so you meet somebody and you're like, Oh,
- 7:17Speaker 2: she's not my cup of tea or, you know, you're like, okay,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you don't call, text, but you know, when it's like
- 7:24Speaker 2: you guys, you call, you text, you can't wait to
- 7:27Speaker 2: see each other. It's totally different.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Yeah. You know, it's a nice feeling though. Right.
- 7:31Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 7:32Speaker 5: Definitely.
- 7:32Speaker 1: And, you know, I also have to say we're all,
- 7:39Speaker 1: you know, doing something really positive, something that we love.
- 7:44Speaker 1: We're all entertaining in some aspects, so we really share
- 7:48Speaker 1: a lot of the same goals and dreams and aspirations,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and we get it.
- 7:54Speaker 3: We get it, you know?
- 7:55Speaker 2: We do.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So I think that I love to see the hustle
- 7:58Speaker 1: and drive, the passion, and to surround myself with other
- 8:03Speaker 1: people that are doing that same thing is very inspirational
- 8:08Speaker 1: to me. You know, me too, because it makes me
- 8:10Speaker 1: a better person and it makes me say, hey, we
- 8:14Speaker 1: can do this.
- 8:14Speaker 3: And the support is so amazing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: You know, Mama, just for example, she invited me to
- 8:20Speaker 1: this to this feast that she she's.
- 8:24Speaker 3: You know, you know, hosting. And it's like, wow, I'm
- 8:27Speaker 3: coming up and I'm getting to meet all these new people.
- 8:30Speaker 3: promoting things. And, you know, she gave me that opportunity.
- 8:33Speaker 3: So it's just great coming on this show.
- 8:35Speaker 6: I mean, right, Mama?
- 8:36Speaker 2: It's one thing after the other. I never expected to
- 8:38Speaker 2: be where I am right now, meeting all these people.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I mean, one person after the other is just nicer
- 8:44Speaker 2: and nicer. And, you know, like you said, being on
- 8:47Speaker 2: social media, no one really understands how much work really
- 8:53Speaker 2: gets put, goes into this. This is a lot of work,
- 8:55Speaker 2: you know, and I work a full-time job. So, you know,
- 8:58Speaker 2: you come home and you're tired. I just want to
- 9:00Speaker 2: like park it. And it's not. And I, and then
- 9:03Speaker 2: I say to myself, I'm like, get your butt up
- 9:05Speaker 2: and get going, make something, make a video, do got
- 9:08Speaker 2: to do something.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Because if you don't, then you're just going to fall
- 9:12Speaker 2: by the wayside. So it's, it's a push. It's a
- 9:14Speaker 2: grind every day. And only us would understand that. I think,
- 9:18Speaker 2: you know, it's true. I mean it.
- 9:20Speaker 5: How did you feel? How did you, so as far
- 9:22Speaker 5: as the show, I'm sorry.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:24Speaker 5: How did you guys get, how did you get picked? Like,
- 9:26Speaker 5: how did that happen?
- 9:27Speaker 2: I got an email one day. I think we all
- 9:30Speaker 2: kind of got different ways maybe, but me personally, they
- 9:33Speaker 2: just said, hi, we're so-and-so from Food Network. We've been
- 9:37Speaker 2: watching some of your videos. We think you'd be a
- 9:38Speaker 2: good fit for a new show. Would you be interested?
- 9:41Speaker 2: If so, let us know. And I said, at first
- 9:44Speaker 2: I said, this is a scam. This can't be real.
- 9:47Speaker 2: And I'm like, Food Network? You know, me? And then
- 9:50Speaker 2: I emailed them back and she said, nope, it's not
- 9:52Speaker 2: a scam. It's a real deal. If you're interested, we
- 9:55Speaker 2: want to interview you. I did a Zoom call and
- 9:57Speaker 2: basically the rest is history. They're like, okay, you're in.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I was like, wow, I can't believe it. I'm going
- 10:02Speaker 2: to California. Holy mackerel.
- 10:05Speaker 5: It was an amazing experience.
- 10:07Speaker 2: It was an amazing experience. Let me tell you, she'll attest,
- 10:09Speaker 2: it was hard. It was a lot harder than I
- 10:13Speaker 2: ever thought it would be.
- 10:14Speaker 5: It's got to be to have to cook that. They're
- 10:17Speaker 5: just telling you, all right, cook. Pick something to cook.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Well, they pick it.
- 10:21Speaker 5: It's like a challenge.
- 10:22Speaker 2: For me, it wasn't even that so much because we
- 10:25Speaker 2: know how to cook.
- 10:26Speaker 5: Yes.
- 10:27Speaker 2: It was the stress of not knowing, the stress of waiting.
- 10:32Speaker 2: is it going to be my turn? Is my number
- 10:34Speaker 2: going to come up? If my number comes up, what
- 10:36Speaker 2: are they going to ask me to do? They're going
- 10:38Speaker 2: to ask me to do pasta, chicken, beef. What am
- 10:40Speaker 2: I going to make? If, what are the ingredients I need?
- 10:43Speaker 2: You have to, you're thinking, you only have minutes to
- 10:45Speaker 2: figure it out. And then you're, you're, you're watching these
- 10:48Speaker 2: balls get picked and you're just at the edge of
- 10:50Speaker 2: your seat, your heart's coming out of your chest. And
- 10:53Speaker 2: then whether or not you get picked or not, and
- 10:55Speaker 2: you sit there and now you might sit if you
- 10:57Speaker 2: don't get picked. But I, you know what I mean?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Said it reminded me of being at, I hate to
- 11:01Speaker 2: say this, but being at a wake. Like you're sitting
- 11:03Speaker 2: around doing nothing, waiting, but it's completely stressful. Completely stressed out.
- 11:09Speaker 5: That's how I felt.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I felt like that.
- 11:11Speaker 6: I did not look at it like that.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're stressed out, right? But you're sitting around
- 11:15Speaker 2: doing nothing, but you're stressed because now you know once
- 11:17Speaker 2: that is over, we're going to do this again. We're
- 11:20Speaker 2: going to pick numbers again. It might be my turn.
- 11:22Speaker 3: It was, you know, I always say it was like
- 11:24Speaker 3: the most.
- 11:26Speaker 1: Physically, mentally, and emotionally draining, but also the most magical, treasured,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and inspirational.
- 11:31Speaker 2: A hundred percent.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I mean, just to be chosen was huge. And then like,
- 11:35Speaker 1: but it was very intense.
- 11:38Speaker 3: 12, 15 hour days.
- 11:39Speaker 6: Yep.
- 11:40Speaker 3: And your heart was, I don't think I've ever felt
- 11:43Speaker 3: that much anxiety. We talked about it, you know. When
- 11:47Speaker 3: we would, you know, end.
- 11:49Speaker 1: The day, we were exhausted. The younger people were going out, partying, drinking.
- 11:53Speaker 1: And I love to party.
- 11:55Speaker 3: And I love a good time.
- 11:56Speaker 6: You saw me.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I was very regimented.
- 11:58Speaker 6: You too.
- 11:58Speaker 3: I mean, we went out a couple of times.
- 12:01Speaker 2: It was very taxing. You know, and you go back
- 12:04Speaker 2: to your room. It would be 9 o'clock at night.
- 12:06Speaker 2: You'd order some room service. But meanwhile, I'm studying my recipes.
- 12:10Speaker 2: That's what I was doing. Because you're like, okay, was
- 12:12Speaker 2: that a teaspoon or a tablespoon? You know, you think
- 12:15Speaker 2: you know it. But you have to study to make
- 12:18Speaker 2: sure you don't forget an ingredient.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Did you make.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Sure that you took your best, like make a book
- 12:25Speaker 4: of your best recipes that you took with you? Did
- 12:28Speaker 4: you know that they were going to pick every genre of,
- 12:32Speaker 4: like say it was a dessert, an appetizer?
- 12:35Speaker 2: We had no idea what they were going to pick.
- 12:37Speaker 5: They didn't tell you what you were going to cook?
- 12:40Speaker 2: No, no idea.
- 12:40Speaker 5: Coming on the show and they can make, Anything can happen.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Anything can happen. And there were so many.
- 12:46Speaker 5: Any style of food.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Right.
- 12:47Speaker 2: And any, you know, and what happened with me was
- 12:50Speaker 2: I wasn't, I had it in my head. Chicken, pasta.
- 12:54Speaker 2: If I get a chicken dish, a pasta dish, this dish.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But then what was happening was that all of a
- 12:58Speaker 2: sudden they're like, make your best brunch. And I'm like, brunch.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Like I never had brunch.
- 13:03Speaker 6: I'm like.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Brunch, thank God I didn't get that one. I'm like,
- 13:06Speaker 2: I would have just made an egg or something. I'm like,
- 13:08Speaker 2: I don't know what I would have made.
- 13:09Speaker 3: It was definitely challenging.
- 13:11Speaker 6: Right.
- 13:12Speaker 2: So things like that were coming up that maybe I
- 13:14Speaker 2: didn't think of. And I'm like, oh, I never thought
- 13:16Speaker 2: of that one.
- 13:18Speaker 3: What was something that you wish that you got called for?
- 13:21Speaker 2: A pasta dish.
- 13:23Speaker 3: Pasta. You know, like the noodles challenge.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, the noodles challenge would have been my or, you know,
- 13:28Speaker 2: or what was it with the rotisserie chicken? I probably
- 13:31Speaker 2: would have did something similar to Antoinette. She was on
- 13:34Speaker 2: the show. Yeah, I would probably did something like an
- 13:36Speaker 2: Italian wedding soup or chicken soup or something like that.
- 13:39Speaker 3: And you know what?
- 13:40Speaker 1: I got to give props to Antoinette because she did
- 13:43Speaker 1: do the Italian wedding soup, which does have meatballs. But
- 13:46Speaker 1: they they eliminated her because they said the meat wasn't.
- 13:51Speaker 3: It shouldn't have gone in with the chicken.
- 13:52Speaker 1: She should have made chicken meatballs because rotisserie chicken was,
- 13:55Speaker 1: but you know what?
- 13:56Speaker 6: I agreed with it. We're not, that was, that's how
- 13:58Speaker 6: you make it.
- 13:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 6: It looked delicious. It looked delicious. I love it.
- 14:02Speaker 2: They don't know.
- 14:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Yes. She told me that was just recently.
- 14:06Speaker 6: Yep. She's yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 5: I love her.
- 14:10Speaker 2: I love her.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Yes, she does.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah. That's right.
- 14:21Speaker 3: And we're doing a cook, kind of like a 100
- 14:24Speaker 3: cooks reunion. Remember I told you to come?
- 14:26Speaker 6: Yep. Yeah. Yes, you're coming.
- 14:29Speaker 1: And probably, I think, like 10 people from the show,
- 14:33Speaker 1: Mama Jackie and I, a few others, we're going to
- 14:37Speaker 1: go to Antoinette's house and we're going to do a backyard,
- 14:40Speaker 1: like barbecue type thing.
- 14:41Speaker 3: She lives in a beautiful complex and the backyard is gorgeous.
- 14:44Speaker 3: So we're going to have a good time.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Eat, drink, and be merry.
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to that. It's going to be a
- 14:49Speaker 2: lot of fun.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 4: So what did you, what was your challenge that you
- 14:53Speaker 4: had to come? Cause I didn't get to see you
- 14:55Speaker 4: a part of the show. I actually, I didn't get
- 14:57Speaker 4: to watch all the episodes. I watched a few and
- 14:59Speaker 4: I didn't get, I didn't see your episode.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Well, I don't want to sound bitter. I don't want
- 15:06Speaker 2: to sound better. I'm going to try to be positive here. So,
- 15:09Speaker 2: you know, I am a cook. I like to cook
- 15:12Speaker 2: Italian food. I like to cook for all those out there.
- 15:17Speaker 2: All those people have video. Um, And finally, you know,
- 15:21Speaker 2: I had not been called for quite a few challenges.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And I was like, God, when are they going to
- 15:26Speaker 2: call my number? I got to get this out of
- 15:27Speaker 2: my system, you know? Yeah. And finally, my number gets called.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Let's see the challenge. Baking. I hate to bake. I
- 15:38Speaker 2: hate to bake. Yeah. I don't care for it. I
- 15:41Speaker 2: really don't like it. I'll make cookies at Christmas, but
- 15:43Speaker 2: that's like about it.
- 15:44Speaker 5: Well, baking is different than cooking. It's different.
- 15:47Speaker 2: It's more scientific.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Right.
- 15:49Speaker 3: That's what I don't like about it either because I
- 15:51Speaker 3: don't want to follow directions. I just want to throw
- 15:53Speaker 3: that and the other in it.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Me too, right?
- 15:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:55Speaker 2: You know, oh, it needs more salt to add it.
- 15:56Speaker 6: It needs this.
- 15:57Speaker 2: Not in baking. It has to be precise. It has
- 15:59Speaker 2: to be precise. And so I get the baking challenge
- 16:02Speaker 2: and the challenge was something you would find at a
- 16:05Speaker 2: bake sale, like a children's school bake sale. So I
- 16:10Speaker 2: had some ideas in my head, and I said, well,
- 16:13Speaker 2: it's got to either be like a cookie, a brownie,
- 16:14Speaker 2: a cupcake. And I make these really good lemon cookies
- 16:19Speaker 2: at Christmas all the time. Big hit. Been making them
- 16:22Speaker 2: for 40 years. I said, I'm going to make my
- 16:24Speaker 2: lemon cookies. They're going to die for these. And to
- 16:27Speaker 2: be honest, she can tell you, Terry went crazy for them.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Terry Crews was the host. He thought they were great. Um, everybody,
- 16:35Speaker 2: Nick picked them as just for visual. He picked them. Um,
- 16:39Speaker 2: and when the cameras were off, they were saying a
- 16:41Speaker 2: lot of positive things. So I really, maybe I was
- 16:44Speaker 2: a little overconfident and I was like, Oh, thank you.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I made it. I made it. I made it to
- 16:49Speaker 2: the next round. Thank you, Jesus. And all of a
- 16:51Speaker 2: sudden they're like, okay. And the people going home are,
- 16:54Speaker 2: and I, if you close up on my face, I
- 16:57Speaker 2: think my jaw hit the ground. Cause I was like, really?
- 17:01Speaker 2: And so I went home. But so that was very
- 17:04Speaker 2: disappointing because I didn't even get a chance to really cook.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:08Speaker 5: So it's OK.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I've had a great experience.
- 17:12Speaker 6: I cried.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Did you?
- 17:14Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 3: I felt so bad.
- 17:16Speaker 6: I know.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I felt so bad because I know like I know
- 17:20Speaker 1: you can cook and and you can bake, too.
- 17:22Speaker 3: I mean, I know your lemon cookies are amazing. And
- 17:25Speaker 3: they're lemon regatta, right?
- 17:27Speaker 2: No, no regatta.
- 17:27Speaker 5: Oh, no. All right.
- 17:29Speaker 3: But yeah, I saw them. And I remember you made
- 17:31Speaker 3: them on TikTok.
- 17:32Speaker 2: I made them again twice.
- 17:34Speaker 5: And delicious.
- 17:35Speaker 2: They were delicious. And, you know, you know, listen, if
- 17:38Speaker 2: they said to us, make sure you cook or bake
- 17:41Speaker 2: to the challenge, you know. So part of the reason
- 17:44Speaker 2: why I was very confident is some of the other
- 17:45Speaker 2: contestants made things that I don't think you would find
- 17:48Speaker 2: at a bake sale. So I was like, oh, I,
- 17:50Speaker 2: in my head, I'm like eliminating that immediately, you know?
- 17:53Speaker 2: So it kind of narrowed the field. This is just
- 17:55Speaker 2: in my brain. So I just, I guess I had
- 17:57Speaker 2: it all wrong.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Who won the challenge?
- 18:01Speaker 3: Oh, a few people.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I forget his name.
- 18:03Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Collaborative type thing.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Like three or four that are safe. I forget their names.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Big Papa.
- 18:12Speaker 2: You know, Big Papa.
- 18:13Speaker 3: I forget their names. Glenn.
- 18:17Speaker 6: Connor.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Connor.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Connor.
- 18:19Speaker 3: He made the raspberry tart. Somebody else made something. Why
- 18:24Speaker 3: can't I recall now?
- 18:25Speaker 6: I just can't.
- 18:26Speaker 5: What was the thing that they made that why they
- 18:29Speaker 5: picked them?
- 18:30Speaker 3: A lemon bar, a raspberry tart. I think it was
- 18:33Speaker 3: some kind of, didn't, who else got picked?
- 18:38Speaker 2: Was the empanada, the empanada win? I forget now.
- 18:41Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Somebody made like an empanada.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Like a sweet empanada.
- 18:46Speaker 6: It was mango perhaps?
- 18:47Speaker 5: But that's not what you'd really find at a bake sale.
- 18:49Speaker 2: Well, I'm just, yeah.
- 18:50Speaker 5: I mean, that's like, you know, I mean, when I
- 18:56Speaker 5: think of bake sale, I think of brownies. I think
- 18:58Speaker 5: of chocolate chip.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:59Speaker 5: I think of cookies. I think of sometimes maybe a
- 19:01Speaker 5: rainbow cookie depending on who's cooking.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Love a good rainbow cookie.
- 19:06Speaker 5: I think I....
- 19:09Speaker 2: Listen, I had a wonderful experience to be able to
- 19:12Speaker 2: say I was on Food Network. I mean, that is
- 19:16Speaker 2: just amazing. So, yeah, I am.
- 19:20Speaker 6: Out of all.
- 19:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 19:21Speaker 2: How many thousands of people did they say?
- 19:23Speaker 3: They said so many.
- 19:24Speaker 5: It took them over a.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Year to go through videos after videos.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Mine was two years prior that I got the call.
- 19:31Speaker 3: But they did it for two years, casting. Two years.
- 19:34Speaker 6: That's just.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I think about that and I let that sink in
- 19:37Speaker 1: and I think of, you know, the casting process and,
- 19:42Speaker 1: you know, how many people, people they got, you know,
- 19:45Speaker 1: some people were found like us and then some were
- 19:48Speaker 1: actually applicants. They, they put out applications and some people
- 19:52Speaker 1: were professional reality show people. They had been on different
- 19:56Speaker 1: reality shows or even cooking competitions. Um, and they, they,
- 20:01Speaker 1: you know, fill out applications all the time. I never
- 20:03Speaker 1: even knew there was such a thing, but we found
- 20:05Speaker 1: out on the show. Those, I think it was like
- 20:07Speaker 1: 80% that were found in probably 20, percent that were applicants.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Right now something like that makes sense yeah but.
- 20:15Speaker 7: That's amazing to be picked like that yeah i'm very
- 20:18Speaker 7: blessed i'm happy about that so even though i didn't
- 20:21Speaker 7: you know get much further i would have liked to
- 20:23Speaker 7: have stayed on a little bit longer but it's all
- 20:25Speaker 7: right would they ever.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Do they pick people again to come back on if
- 20:29Speaker 5: they've been on the.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Show or not you know it's funny because i asked
- 20:32Speaker 1: the casting agent because they're they're doing um casting for
- 20:36Speaker 1: season two right now So I said, oh, I wonder
- 20:38Speaker 1: if they're bringing back certain people.
- 20:40Speaker 3: You never know.
- 20:41Speaker 2: You never know.
- 20:42Speaker 3: But we'll see how it all goes down.
- 20:44Speaker 2: We'll see how it goes down. I mean, I'm curious
- 20:46Speaker 2: to see because that was the first season, too. And
- 20:49Speaker 2: if they change any kind of formats, because there were
- 20:52Speaker 2: certain things, you know, that I was like, you know,
- 20:55Speaker 2: would they do that again this way? You know, but
- 20:58Speaker 2: we'll see how it changes and if it does at all.
- 21:00Speaker 2: But I'm looking forward to season two.
- 21:02Speaker 4: But it's amazing that there was people there that you had, like,
- 21:06Speaker 4: a cluster of people that you guys knew.
- 21:09Speaker 5: That's what... Yeah. And we really.
- 21:11Speaker 2: And we made friends. We really bonded. I mean, we
- 21:14Speaker 2: have videos and pictures. Yeah. I mean, it was just...
- 21:16Speaker 2: We all just came downstairs in the first couple of
- 21:19Speaker 2: nights before we were getting exhausted.
- 21:21Speaker 6: I know.
- 21:22Speaker 2: You know, we would hang out together. Yeah. And it was, like,
- 21:24Speaker 2: a huge party. And everybody... It's like everybody knew each other,
- 21:26Speaker 2: you know? It was really fun.
- 21:28Speaker 1: The producers never expected us to become actual friends. Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 4: And.
- 21:33Speaker 3: And develop these bonds. Yeah.
- 21:37Speaker 2: We're cheering for each other.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And I have to say, I loved working with Food Network.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Me too.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And they said to us, you know, we are a
- 21:46Speaker 1: reality show, but we are not the type that will
- 21:49Speaker 1: ever pin you against each other.
- 21:51Speaker 3: We're going to highlight you.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Make it negative.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Oh, they wanted it to be positive. But they said,
- 21:55Speaker 3: if you make red chicken, it's on you.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it's true.
- 21:58Speaker 6: It's on you.
- 21:59Speaker 3: But they were great to work with.
- 22:01Speaker 2: They were great to work with. And I think that
- 22:02Speaker 2: they were. I remember somebody saying how they were shocked when,
- 22:06Speaker 2: you know, maybe they called down eight contestants to cook something. And,
- 22:10Speaker 2: you know, the 70 other people, maybe. Everybody was cheering.
- 22:14Speaker 2: And they would help them. The one guy, he was
- 22:17Speaker 2: trying to make a wonton or something.
- 22:18Speaker 3: No, he did crispy rice.
- 22:20Speaker 5: Crispy rice.
- 22:20Speaker 2: And it wasn't forming.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Right.
- 22:22Speaker 2: You could see he was panicking.
- 22:24Speaker 3: And he made it right to the end.
- 22:26Speaker 4: Right.
- 22:26Speaker 2: And you could see he was panicking. He didn't know
- 22:29Speaker 2: what to do. And we're in the audience telling him, forget,
- 22:33Speaker 2: abandon that idea. Do this. Right. And he did it.
- 22:36Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:37Speaker 2: And he survived the challenge. Because, you know, you get flustered.
- 22:41Speaker 2: You know, once something goes wrong, you get flustered. And
- 22:44Speaker 2: now you've got to kind of bring it back and think.
- 22:46Speaker 2: And the clock is ticking again. So it was stressful.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I mean, having to cook something right on the spot and, like,
- 22:52Speaker 4: it's got to be stressful.
- 22:54Speaker 2: It is.
- 22:55Speaker 5: To do anything right on the spot.
- 22:57Speaker 6: It is, yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Especially, and the thing is you have to remember all
- 23:02Speaker 2: the ingredients, you know. It's like when I cook at home,
- 23:05Speaker 2: you know, I go to the store. I know I'm
- 23:07Speaker 2: going to make something. I have to get this, this, this,
- 23:09Speaker 2: and this. I have a list.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Right, I don't run to the shop right and, you know, say, oh,
- 23:15Speaker 2: what do I need in 30 seconds?
- 23:16Speaker 3: You know, it's stressful. And you have 12 minutes to
- 23:18Speaker 3: do it.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 23:19Speaker 3: And that's real.
- 23:24Speaker 2: My family thinks I'm nuts as it is. Please.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I'm ready for the next one. I'll tell you, I'm
- 23:27Speaker 3: addicted now to cooking competition shows. How about you? Would
- 23:30Speaker 3: you do it again? Right.
- 23:33Speaker 2: I don't know. I'd have to think. It was a
- 23:35Speaker 2: lot of work. It was very hard, but I probably
- 23:38Speaker 2: would do it again. Yeah, I'd do it again. I
- 23:40Speaker 2: know me. I say that now, but then when the
- 23:41Speaker 2: opportunity comes up.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Well, I hope I see you in the lobby.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm a competitor, so that would get me.
- 23:48Speaker 6: I hope we see each other.
- 23:49Speaker 2: I hope so.
- 23:50Speaker 3: But, Mama, tell us about your book.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, so, yeah, I can't believe I made a cookbook.
- 23:56Speaker 2: I should have brought it with me. Alexia was yelling
- 23:59Speaker 2: at me.
- 23:59Speaker 6: I said, why didn't you bring your cookbook?
- 24:01Speaker 2: I know, I know, but it's on Amazon, and, you know,
- 24:04Speaker 2: it's simple. I do simple Italian traditional meals.
- 24:07Speaker 6: What Italy are you from?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Well, my grandparents are from a town called Teora, which
- 24:12Speaker 2: is in the Avellino section of Italy, right near Naples.
- 24:15Speaker 2: And that's where they came from. I did an ancestry
- 24:20Speaker 2: history thing on Ellis Island, and I saw the boat
- 24:22Speaker 2: and where they came. I even saw my grandfather's name
- 24:25Speaker 2: written in the registry. It's really cool. And I have
- 24:28Speaker 2: to order. I keep saying, you can do it. You
- 24:29Speaker 2: can do it. It's very cool. And I'm going to
- 24:32Speaker 2: order all that stuff and make a thing. That's very nice. Yeah, so...
- 24:37Speaker 2: they were very, they were very, very poor farmers, you know,
- 24:40Speaker 2: peasant people. And they made very simple dishes. And my
- 24:42Speaker 2: grandmother came over and we still were poor here. You know,
- 24:45Speaker 2: I grew up in Bloomfield and I, my, my sisters
- 24:48Speaker 2: hate when I say this, but it's the truth. You know,
- 24:51Speaker 2: we were poor and we didn't know we were poor
- 24:53Speaker 2: because everybody else was poor, you know, like, and you
- 24:55Speaker 2: didn't know what you didn't have. You know what I mean?
- 24:58Speaker 2: Like we had simple meals, you know, pasta, you know,
- 25:02Speaker 2: Things like that. Escarole and beans. Escarole and beans. I
- 25:07Speaker 2: love it.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Right?
- 25:08Speaker 2: And it was simple. And then my mother would get
- 25:10Speaker 2: a crusty, stale piece of bread, and you'd dip it,
- 25:12Speaker 2: and then you didn't even realize it was crusty and
- 25:14Speaker 2: stale because it was soaking in the juice. And so
- 25:17Speaker 2: that's how I learned how to cook. Very easy, simple meals,
- 25:21Speaker 2: but they're delicious. And that's how it all happened because
- 25:24Speaker 2: my daughters would watch me scrolling and watching everybody else.
- 25:29Speaker 2: And they would say, you should go on TikTok and
- 25:32Speaker 2: show your recipes. And I'm like, no way. I'm like,
- 25:35Speaker 2: no way. And they're like, yes way. You're just as
- 25:38Speaker 2: good as everybody else. You have a great personality. You
- 25:40Speaker 2: would do great. And I said, I don't know. So
- 25:43Speaker 2: my daughter made me an account behind my back and
- 25:47Speaker 2: she named it Mama Jackie.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Love it. Yeah.
- 25:49Speaker 2: And then she says, well, here's your account. So let's
- 25:51Speaker 2: make a video. And I was like, just for fun.
- 25:53Speaker 2: I said, just for fun, we'll do it. And now
- 25:56Speaker 2: I look back at that video. I hope it gets
- 25:58Speaker 2: buried someday.
- 25:59Speaker 6: I love it.
- 26:02Speaker 2: That was about a year and a half ago.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Look how great you're doing. You're doing so well.
- 26:08Speaker 2: And I'm not trying to toot my own horn, but
- 26:10Speaker 2: that first from January of 2025 till April, I was
- 26:14Speaker 2: doing great. And then I got hacked. And I had
- 26:18Speaker 2: to start all over again. So a brand new account
- 26:21Speaker 2: and all over again. So I can't believe the blessings
- 26:26Speaker 2: that I've had. But the funny story is that we
- 26:28Speaker 2: did the video. And I watched it and I said
- 26:31Speaker 2: to my daughter, no way. I said, no way. I said,
- 26:34Speaker 2: forget it. I am not posting that video. And I
- 26:36Speaker 2: was watching it like this. And I'm like, oh, look
- 26:39Speaker 2: at me. And she came up from behind me and
- 26:42Speaker 2: she went post. And I she says, well, too late.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It's out there. And I said, what do you at
- 26:49Speaker 2: that time? I didn't even understand what the heck I
- 26:51Speaker 2: was looking at. And I said, what are you talking about?
- 26:53Speaker 2: I just posted it.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Was that Rachel?
- 26:55Speaker 2: Rachel.
- 26:56Speaker 3: She's really an advocate for you, too.
- 26:58Speaker 5: She is.
- 26:59Speaker 6: She is.
- 27:00Speaker 2: And the next thing you know, I woke up the
- 27:01Speaker 2: next day and to all these comments and all these...
- 27:04Speaker 2: I had followers already. And I'm like, you just got
- 27:07Speaker 2: the fever. Now I'm like, oh, maybe I can do this.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Let's make another video.
- 27:12Speaker 6: I love it.
- 27:13Speaker 5: And then... Do you do one every day?
- 27:15Speaker 2: Pretty much, yeah. Sometimes twice because I like to do commentary, too.
- 27:19Speaker 2: You know, I like... I'm a big person that loves
- 27:23Speaker 2: memories and traditions and the old school stuff. And I
- 27:28Speaker 2: realized soon on that there's a lot of other people
- 27:30Speaker 2: that like to talk about, you know, the old times
- 27:33Speaker 2: when we were kids. And so I like to just
- 27:36Speaker 2: sit and talk sometimes about things that I remember from
- 27:39Speaker 2: being a kid, from my grandmother, you know, that kind
- 27:42Speaker 2: of stuff, old school stuff. So I love doing that.
- 27:45Speaker 2: So I do that as well.
- 27:47Speaker 3: And she has like two of her famous taglines. I
- 27:51Speaker 3: know what they are.
- 27:52Speaker 6: Come with me.
- 27:53Speaker 3: I'll show you how to make it.
- 27:54Speaker 6: Andiamo.
- 27:56Speaker 3: That's Mama Jackie.
- 27:57Speaker 2: That's my word.
- 27:58Speaker 6: That's her.
- 27:59Speaker 1: And whenever I hear anybody else do it, I say, ooh,
- 28:02Speaker 1: that's Mama's line.
- 28:02Speaker 2: It's so funny. I was like, hey, can I copyright
- 28:06Speaker 2: this word, Andiamo? And I looked it up. And you
- 28:08Speaker 2: really can't because it's a word. It's a word. It's
- 28:10Speaker 2: a word. But whenever I hear anybody else say it,
- 28:13Speaker 2: I'm like, my word.
- 28:15Speaker 3: It's my word. It's not really accurate.
- 28:18Speaker 1: But in my mind, I say, Mama coined the phrase,
- 28:20Speaker 1: Because that's something that I saw her do first, and
- 28:24Speaker 1: it stuck. So, like, I find it authentic to you.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:28Speaker 3: And whenever I hear anybody else do it, it just
- 28:30Speaker 3: isn't right. Because it's mama.
- 28:33Speaker 6: It's mama.
- 28:33Speaker 5: Vidiello. Vidiello.
- 28:36Speaker 6: I love it.
- 28:36Speaker 2: My name's going to be all over the place.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Oh, how funny.
- 28:40Speaker 6: I love it.
- 28:41Speaker 2: How funny.
- 28:42Speaker 5: So funny. That's a new joke. I love it.
- 28:46Speaker 3: And look, you're dressed to impress with the food shirt.
- 28:48Speaker 6: I love that.
- 28:49Speaker 3: That's adorable.
- 28:50Speaker 5: And a homage to Rhode Island.
- 28:55Speaker 6: I love it. I love it.
- 28:58Speaker 5: That's so cute.
- 28:59Speaker 6: Very, very cute. I love it.
- 29:01Speaker 5: That was for you too.
- 29:03Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I am actually a pretty good cook too.
- 29:07Speaker 5: But I don't cook on social media. Because, you know,
- 29:11Speaker 5: I stick people with socials. or i make fun of
- 29:14Speaker 5: the gen z.
- 29:16Speaker 8: I love your videos yeah yeah i mean really i
- 29:21Speaker 8: watch them and i say you are too funny it's
- 29:23Speaker 8: right because it's just like you just you have like
- 29:26Speaker 8: um a dry sense of humor but.
- 29:28Speaker 3: It's so hilarious and it's so and you're like just
- 29:31Speaker 3: making a face and showing a scare. And then I'm like,
- 29:35Speaker 3: I can still relate. And it's relatable. And that's what
- 29:38Speaker 3: I find funny.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Like it's authentic to you.
- 29:41Speaker 1: And I know that meeting you now these last few times,
- 29:45Speaker 1: I say that's really her, you know.
- 29:48Speaker 5: Right.
- 29:48Speaker 3: And, like, even the night we went to Spumoni Garden,
- 29:51Speaker 3: you were so funny. You picked us up in the escalade.
- 29:54Speaker 3: She's like, let's go to Spumoni Garden.
- 29:56Speaker 6: We had so much fun. It was just like pizza.
- 29:59Speaker 3: And it was a great time because she's, like, funny.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Right.
- 30:02Speaker 2: And she's down to earth. Down to earth.
- 30:04Speaker 6: That's it.
- 30:04Speaker 2: You're down to earth. No, it's the truth. It's the
- 30:08Speaker 2: truth because I... I can't deal at this age.
- 30:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 30:12Speaker 2: I can't like you. We were talking in the beginning.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I just can't deal. I just I know who I like.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 2: And I immediately gravitated.
- 30:19Speaker 6: Yes.
- 30:19Speaker 5: So I am too. True. True. You pick the people
- 30:22Speaker 5: that you want to surround yourself with. Yes.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Nice.
- 30:25Speaker 5: You know, and, you know. For sure. People that you
- 30:27Speaker 5: really just want to be around.
- 30:29Speaker 2: I agree.
- 30:30Speaker 4: You know, at this age, you don't want to be
- 30:32Speaker 4: around people that are.
- 30:33Speaker 6: No BS'd.
- 30:35Speaker 3: No bs right no bs i know.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Formal down-to-earth people true and i love that your kid
- 30:41Speaker 4: that your kids are so involved in what's going on
- 30:46Speaker 4: they are.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Once in a while once in a while she's so
- 30:50Speaker 2: busy i got two very busy kids one's 18 one's
- 30:54Speaker 2: 21 they have the boyfriends you know take a lot
- 30:56Speaker 2: of time but They also, you know, go to college.
- 30:59Speaker 2: My younger one just starting this year and the other
- 31:02Speaker 2: one is in nursing school and she's finishing up this year.
- 31:05Speaker 2: So she'll be becoming a nurse. And so it's a
- 31:08Speaker 2: lot of studying. And she, you know, she's very dedicated. So,
- 31:12Speaker 2: you know, when they have time, they try to help me.
- 31:15Speaker 2: I mean, I know my followers say it all the time.
- 31:17Speaker 2: We love when your daughters are in the videos. And
- 31:20Speaker 2: my younger one, she doesn't like to be in them
- 31:22Speaker 2: as much. I kind of have to bribe her or
- 31:24Speaker 2: force her a little bit. But the other one, she'll
- 31:27Speaker 2: do it, but it's just a matter of, you know,
- 31:29Speaker 2: do you have time? Cause she's always racing somewhere, you know?
- 31:32Speaker 2: So what are you going to do? I was like
- 31:33Speaker 2: that when I was their age too.
- 31:35Speaker 1: So when I went to a book signing, I was
- 31:37Speaker 1: so impressed, honestly, with her, uh, both, both her daughters,
- 31:40Speaker 1: but Rachel, especially it was like in command.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:43Speaker 1: She, you know, she did mama Jackie trivia. She was
- 31:48Speaker 1: giving out the pasta. Like I was like, wow, she,
- 31:50Speaker 1: she's really good. She's very well spoken.
- 31:53Speaker 3: She's good. Uh, in front of crowds.
- 31:55Speaker 6: What's your, I know, right?
- 31:57Speaker 2: Oh, thank you.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I was like, wow, this is like so, like what
- 32:00Speaker 1: a great family thing that she has going on, like
- 32:03Speaker 1: with her daughters and the support.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Like, I was really impressed.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 32:08Speaker 3: With your daughter.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Thank you so much. Yeah, they're good kids. They really are.
- 32:11Speaker 2: I mean, I'm blessed. That's what I could say. You know,
- 32:14Speaker 2: I'm blessed.
- 32:15Speaker 5: And you're lucky to have two beautiful, healthy children.
- 32:20Speaker 2: That's right.
- 32:20Speaker 5: That's what I say.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Right?
- 32:22Speaker 5: And you have beautiful. Two boys.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Two boys.
- 32:25Speaker 5: Yes, yes. Right? Three girls, right?
- 32:28Speaker 2: We talked about that. Girls are different than boys. A
- 32:32Speaker 2: lot of drama with the girls.
- 32:34Speaker 6: Oh, my. Oh, no.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Like that video you posted the other day.
- 32:41Speaker 1: And her facial expressions are killing me.
- 32:44Speaker 6: That's what's so funny. It's just like you're.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Not saying anything, but I can see the humor in it.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Like the way she's presenting the video and the facial
- 32:53Speaker 1: expressions just like kills me.
- 32:55Speaker 6: I'm dead. The skeleton comes out.
- 32:58Speaker 2: Because we all go through it, you know? And so
- 33:01Speaker 2: we can relate to it. Like, oh my God, I'm
- 33:03Speaker 2: not the only one, you know?
- 33:04Speaker 5: I'm not the only one that's feeling this way.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Yeah, right.
- 33:08Speaker 4: And I just have no patience or am I just
- 33:12Speaker 4: getting old and I can't.
- 33:14Speaker 5: It's just different though.
- 33:15Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:16Speaker 2: It's different. You know what I mean? And part of
- 33:18Speaker 2: it is, you know, like, I don't know about you,
- 33:20Speaker 2: but I think I spoiled my girls a little bit
- 33:22Speaker 2: growing up. You know, I wanted to do so much
- 33:24Speaker 2: for them. Sometimes I think we did too much. You know?
- 33:29Speaker 2: And so, you know, the dishes, say the dishes, you know,
- 33:31Speaker 2: they just put them in the sink. Oh, it's all right.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Don't worry about it. Go play. Mommy will clean them up. Yeah, well,
- 33:36Speaker 2: now Mommy doesn't want to clean them up anymore.
- 33:39Speaker 5: You know?
- 33:39Speaker 2: Like, do the freaking dishes. Do the freaking dishes, you know?
- 33:44Speaker 1: Speaking of dishes, what's your signature dish, right?
- 33:49Speaker 2: I have to say, I always say it's my eggplant parmesan,
- 33:52Speaker 2: which I learned that you make it very similar to my.
- 33:56Speaker 6: Right?
- 33:56Speaker 2: Didn't we say that?
- 33:58Speaker 3: You did tell me that.
- 33:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I posted a video. She said our recipe was very similar.
- 34:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Because. Big eggplants are smaller.
- 34:06Speaker 2: I use the bigger eggplants, the regular size eggplants. I
- 34:09Speaker 2: try to get them skinnier. Thin, thin. I cut them
- 34:13Speaker 2: in discs. Yeah. I don't even bother. I don't do
- 34:15Speaker 2: that either.
- 34:16Speaker 6: I don't do it. She doesn't do it.
- 34:17Speaker 3: We talked about that.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Don't bother. Never do it. Don't bother. I guess my mother,
- 34:21Speaker 2: my grandmother, they never did it. I never knew that.
- 34:23Speaker 5: It was something.
- 34:24Speaker 6: Some people salt it.
- 34:25Speaker 3: I never did it.
- 34:26Speaker 2: I never even knew it was a thing until I
- 34:28Speaker 2: got older. And people would say, don't you salt your eggplant? Well,
- 34:30Speaker 2: I salt my eggplant. I'm like, what is that? Like,
- 34:33Speaker 2: my family didn't do it. So I never did it. Yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 2: And I got to tell you, I mean, everybody loves whenever.
- 34:39Speaker 6: I have to go somewhere.
- 34:40Speaker 3: We're going to have to go to her house then
- 34:41Speaker 3: for dinner.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Oh, absolutely. Whenever anybody comes over or I go to
- 34:45Speaker 2: a party, what can I bring? Bring your eggplant. Oh,
- 34:47Speaker 2: my God.
- 34:48Speaker 6: I love it.
- 34:48Speaker 5: Not everybody can make eggplant.
- 34:51Speaker 3: We both don't put that cheese. We don't put mozzarella cheese.
- 34:53Speaker 2: There's no mozzarella in my cheese. We don't put it.
- 34:55Speaker 1: We do eggplant parm with only Pecorino Romano.
- 34:58Speaker 6: That's right.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I like that. That's it.
- 34:59Speaker 2: No mozzarella. Yeah.
- 35:01Speaker 5: Yeah. I really used to make it no sauce.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Oh, I love it like that. Like a potato cheese. Oh,
- 35:08Speaker 2: that sounds good too.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Nothing.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Right. You see, the simpler, the better. Sometimes I look
- 35:13Speaker 2: at these, sometimes I look at these recipes and I say,
- 35:15Speaker 2: they had to originate from the fact that you didn't
- 35:18Speaker 2: have something.
- 35:19Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Right. So maybe they didn't have tomatoes, you know, because
- 35:22Speaker 2: it was the middle of the winter and they ran out.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And she's like, oh, what am I going to do?
- 35:26Speaker 2: I can't make a sauce. So I'm going to make
- 35:27Speaker 2: it without the tomatoes. And all of a sudden you
- 35:29Speaker 2: made this great dish and you didn't even have the
- 35:32Speaker 2: ingredient that you wanted.
- 35:33Speaker 3: You know, guess what she just did.
- 35:35Speaker 2: What did I do? Like what?
- 35:37Speaker 3: 500 gallons of.
- 35:39Speaker 6: Oh, my God.
- 35:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 35:40Speaker 6: She made her own. Tomatoes.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I do that every year. I should have brought a couple.
- 35:43Speaker 3: One million gallons.
- 35:44Speaker 6: I said, Mama, bring me a jug. I forgot.
- 35:46Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't believe it. I wasn't in
- 35:48Speaker 2: a fog today.
- 35:48Speaker 6: I just not believe it.
- 35:49Speaker 2: I was in a fog. I didn't even think. Next time,
- 35:52Speaker 2: now that gives me another reason to see you guys.
- 35:54Speaker 5: We need tomatoes?
- 35:55Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Eggplant parm. We're making a list. We're making a list.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I can't wait to go over Mama's.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 36:03Speaker 3: I want her to say, come with me.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Sit at my table.
- 36:05Speaker 6: I'm the amo.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I'm the amo.
- 36:07Speaker 6: Absolutely.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I did 143 jars. Two Sundays ago, which
- 36:15Speaker 2: was a lot.
- 36:17Speaker 5: It's a lot. I used to draw sauce. I haven't
- 36:19Speaker 5: drawn in a couple of years. It's a lot.
- 36:21Speaker 6: We don't have to. We have mama.
- 36:22Speaker 2: It's a labor of love. it's a you know you
- 36:25Speaker 2: know an old friend of mine used to say you
- 36:28Speaker 2: know work or you know get because it's a lot
- 36:31Speaker 2: of work you know work or you know get oh
- 36:33Speaker 2: that's so every jar is like so it's a lot
- 36:36Speaker 2: of work i mean we start at 6 a.m in
- 36:38Speaker 2: the morning i'm outside and i didn't come in till
- 36:40Speaker 2: like 8 30 and that includes all that cleanup like
- 36:43Speaker 2: tomato everywhere on my house on the patio i mean.
- 36:47Speaker 3: You had a whole A bunch of people, assembly line, right?
- 36:49Speaker 2: Oh, you have to have an assembly line. You have
- 36:51Speaker 2: to be organized. And as a matter of fact, I
- 36:55Speaker 2: went and bought, not bought, but I did buy another machine,
- 36:58Speaker 2: but I got it off of like Facebook Marketplace because
- 37:01Speaker 2: I want to even ramp up the production next year.
- 37:04Speaker 6: Whoa. So. I like it.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Maybe next year you come.
- 37:07Speaker 6: That would be fun.
- 37:08Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Got to have electric.
- 37:09Speaker 5: I've got an electric one, too, because.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Oh, forget it. You break your neck. You break your arm. Oh,
- 37:14Speaker 2: my God. You kill yourself doing that. You could do
- 37:16Speaker 2: a small batch, but not a.
- 37:17Speaker 5: Not like a big batch.
- 37:18Speaker 2: You couldn't do it. You couldn't do it.
- 37:20Speaker 5: No.
- 37:20Speaker 4: We used to have like, it would be my five girlfriends,
- 37:24Speaker 4: their mothers, and the.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Three grandmothers doing it. Oh, wow. It was like 14
- 37:29Speaker 5: of us doing it at one time. And then. And
- 37:32Speaker 5: then that kind of fell to the wayside. I wish
- 37:34Speaker 5: I would start again. I mean, it was a lot
- 37:36Speaker 5: of work, but it was the best. It was rewarding.
- 37:38Speaker 2: And everybody looks, you know, my family, we look forward
- 37:41Speaker 2: to that day. You know, even though it's a lot
- 37:43Speaker 2: of work, everybody looks forward to it. And one last
- 37:45Speaker 2: year I had knee surgery and I was going to,
- 37:48Speaker 2: I wasn't going to do it. I said, oh, let
- 37:49Speaker 2: me give a break this year for my knee.
- 37:52Speaker 3: That people were upset?
- 37:53Speaker 5: Oh, are you kidding? We'll do all the work. We'll
- 37:56Speaker 5: do it all.
- 37:57Speaker 2: You can just sit, please.
- 37:58Speaker 6: All right.
- 37:59Speaker 5: You're not going to be able to sit and just watch.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't. I didn't. I didn't.
- 38:03Speaker 5: It's a labor of love.
- 38:04Speaker 2: It's a labor of love. But when you open up
- 38:06Speaker 2: that jar in January and you're tasting those fresh tomatoes
- 38:10Speaker 2: with the fresh basil that's in it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:13Speaker 2: Nothing like it.
- 38:14Speaker 3: I think those are two of my favorite ingredients.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Yeah, me too. Basil and tomato.
- 38:18Speaker 5: My ex-husband almost divorced me. At that point, we're divorced now.
- 38:22Speaker 4: But I gave away two of our jars of tomatoes
- 38:26Speaker 4: that we made one.
- 38:27Speaker 6: Year to my neighbors.
- 38:28Speaker 5: He was very angry. Why?
- 38:30Speaker 2: I understand, though.
- 38:31Speaker 6: Because it took, right?
- 38:32Speaker 2: I understand. Because you don't have many people, like these
- 38:35Speaker 2: ancillary people that I don't even know. Like, oh, can
- 38:37Speaker 2: I have a jar? Yeah, I'll have to remember you. No.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Get a jar?
- 38:42Speaker 4: No.
- 38:42Speaker 5: Give it to this idiot.
- 38:44Speaker 2: No, you're not getting a jar.
- 38:47Speaker 5: Do what it does. Go over it. Well, Tim, I
- 38:49Speaker 5: don't give a shit. It took us days to make
- 38:52Speaker 5: this before we.
- 38:53Speaker 6: Had the electric.
- 38:54Speaker 2: But it's true. I can understand that. That's why I make.
- 38:57Speaker 2: But that's why I make so much more now. Because
- 39:00Speaker 2: now I know I have a little bit extra to
- 39:03Speaker 2: give away.
- 39:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:04Speaker 2: So I don't feel so bad. But only the right people.
- 39:07Speaker 2: Only the right people. It's a labor of love. It
- 39:10Speaker 2: really is. I say that all the time. But I
- 39:12Speaker 2: wouldn't give it up. I'll keep doing it.
- 39:14Speaker 5: Yeah. I will. Hopefully.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I will.
- 39:17Speaker 2: I promise.
- 39:18Speaker 6: I know.
- 39:18Speaker 2: I promise. I promise. I promise.
- 39:20Speaker 6: I can't wait.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 39:22Speaker 2: I'm excited.
- 39:24Speaker 5: So, Jack, tell everybody where they can find you. And
- 39:27Speaker 5: when is the next... Are we writing it? book soon?
- 39:31Speaker 2: Well, I'm in the process. I'm hoping I can get
- 39:34Speaker 2: it done, but we'll see. Fingers crossed if I can.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I wanted to do something for Christmas, like a Christmas cookie,
- 39:41Speaker 2: even though I don't bake, but I do do cookies
- 39:43Speaker 2: and stuff at Christmas. So we're going to see if
- 39:45Speaker 2: I can get that out in time. So that I'm
- 39:47Speaker 2: working on. But, you know, the book now I have
- 39:50Speaker 2: is on Amazon. So it's pretty easy to find just,
- 39:53Speaker 2: you know, Mama Jackie's traditional Italian cooking. And so we'll see.
- 39:58Speaker 2: We'll see what comes up. But I'm hoping to I'm
- 40:00Speaker 2: also gathering recipes to make the next cookbook as well. Excellent.
- 40:04Speaker 5: So exciting. Where can they find you online?
- 40:07Speaker 2: Oh, I'm on Instagram. Mama Jackie. Sixty five. Tick tock.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Mama Jackie. Sixty five. I got hacked on Facebook, so
- 40:16Speaker 2: I'm working through that with someone right now to get
- 40:18Speaker 2: back on Facebook, so I'm not there just yet. So
- 40:21Speaker 2: if anybody sees me on Facebook, it's not me because
- 40:23Speaker 2: people steal my stuff. I don't know if that happens
- 40:25Speaker 2: to you. It's so upsetting.
- 40:27Speaker 5: I'm not as big as you, so they're not stealing
- 40:28Speaker 5: my stuff.
- 40:29Speaker 6: It's so.
- 40:31Speaker 3: They're taking my.
- 40:32Speaker 5: They actually take her.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so.
- 40:35Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 40:35Speaker 6: Get the baseball bat.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Get the bats.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Listen, you know, I saw her, and it was Mama
- 40:41Speaker 1: Jackie in somebody else's kitchen.
- 40:42Speaker 3: I'm like, That's odd. And they took her. How did
- 40:46Speaker 3: they do this? AI. And they put her in another kitchen.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Right.
- 40:49Speaker 2: And then they create an account called something else close
- 40:53Speaker 2: to Mama Jackie. And then all the followers are going
- 40:56Speaker 2: to them. And then I reported it to Facebook.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Told them what was going on. They shut me down.
- 41:03Speaker 5: They shut you down?
- 41:04Speaker 6: Oh, my goodness. Oh, my goodness.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Can you imagine?
- 41:07Speaker 6: Oh, my goodness.
- 41:08Speaker 2: They shut me down. And then I took months to
- 41:11Speaker 2: try to get it back. It never went. got i
- 41:13Speaker 2: could never get it back and so it just was
- 41:16Speaker 2: the statute of limitations ran out and now i have
- 41:19Speaker 2: no choice but to start a brand new page but
- 41:22Speaker 2: i'm gonna ask someone who really knows how to securely
- 41:25Speaker 2: make that page so maybe that i don't.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Know people will find you you have to get meta
- 41:29Speaker 1: certified yes it's you know yeah and then you'll be
- 41:33Speaker 1: good i know but you know what the people know
- 41:35Speaker 1: Where to find you.
- 41:36Speaker 2: Yes, the real McCoy.
- 41:38Speaker 6: No one can fake who.
- 41:39Speaker 3: Mama Jackie is. She's the real deal.
