- 0:06Who are you? What do you want?
- 0:09Whoa, whoa, whoa. Whoa, Serena, it's me.
- 0:12Nicodemus, what are you doing sneaking around in the middle of
- 0:17the night? I went to go see Jesus, the one
- 0:20I told you about earlier. He was teaching in the temple.
- 0:24The one doing all the miracles, yes.
- 0:27I had to speak with him. In the middle of the night.
- 0:31I'm a Pharisee. The other Pharisees don't like
- 0:34Jesus. I don't want any trouble from
- 0:37them. So what did you talk about?
- 0:40He told me except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom
- 0:46of God. Born again.
- 0:50Oh, you've got to be kidding. You are too big to be crawling
- 0:55inside your mama's tummy. What would your Mama say if you
- 1:00asked Mama, can I crawl back inside your tummy so I can be
- 1:04born again? That's what I thought so.
- 1:11Is he crazy or what? That's what I thought, but no,
- 1:16he's not crazy. He's the real deal.
- 1:20Being born again means to be born of the Spirit.
- 1:24Born of the Spirit. How do you do that?
- 1:27That's what I thought. Did he tell you how to be born
- 1:32of the Spirit? Well, I'm not.
- 1:34Sure. What do you mean you're not
- 1:37sure? Jesus said so many things.
- 1:40I need to meditate on everything he said.
- 1:43He did say something very interesting, for God so loved
- 1:48the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever
- 1:53believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting
- 1:57life. He's talking about the Messiah,
- 2:01the Son of God. That's.
- 2:03What I thought. I think he is the Son of God.
- 2:08No way. If he was the Son of God, he'd
- 2:13be king. That's what I thought, but maybe
- 2:17we're thinking wrong. I always thought I would get to
- 2:20heaven by doing good works, but I think Jesus was trying to tell
- 2:26me that all I have to do is believe that he is the Son of
- 2:30God. Maybe we're not saved by good
- 2:32works, but by the grace of God. That's it.
- 2:36That's too easy. Isn't that too easy?
- 2:40That's what I thought. It's like when you give someone
- 2:43a gift. They don't have.
- 2:45To work for it, It's just given to them for free.
- 2:48It can't be that easy to get to heaven, can it?
- 2:52Come on, let's go to sleep. What's so funny?
- 3:02When you came sneaking in earlier, I thought you were a
- 3:06burglar. See, things are not always what
- 3:10we think. I think the only way we can get
- 3:13to heaven is through Jesus. Hey, David, did you see the look
- 3:32on that guy's face? I mean, you could see the demon
- 3:36and then pow, you laid hands on him.
- 3:38You looked like a different guy after that, didn't he David?
- 3:41That's because Pow. The demon left.
- 3:44Disciple Boy. Cut it out.
- 3:46My name is Christopher. I know you've only told me 100
- 3:50times how did. You know to lay hands on him
- 3:53like that, David. Jesus taught us, Christopher,
- 3:56remember? Oh yeah, duh.
- 3:59Hey David, where is Jesus? He didn't come, Christopher.
- 4:03He sent us out to do his will. Remember 2 by two, healing the
- 4:07sick, casting out devils. Oh yeah, we went together on the
- 4:11buddy system. Not hardly.
- 4:14Jesus told me to go with you. It was His will and I obeyed.
- 4:17Right now I'm wondering if His will is always good, but I know
- 4:21it is. We make a great team though,
- 4:23don't you think David? I try not to think about it.
- 4:26Hey, remember that old lady with the crutches?
- 4:29I grabbed them away from her and she started walking.
- 4:32That's not how it happened. She fell flat on her face.
- 4:35I prayed for her and God healed her.
- 4:37That's when she got up and started walking.
- 4:39What did I do wrong? You forgot to pray for her
- 4:43disciple, boy. Oh, how can I be so dumb?
- 4:46Maybe you missed the class on laying hands on the sick and
- 4:49praying for them that came before the class on the people
- 4:52recovering, you know, getting healed and walking.
- 4:55Must have been goofing off again.
- 4:57Had to start paying attention in class.
- 5:00Whatever. But I did raise that dead guy
- 5:03you saw that raised him right up.
- 5:04You were supposed to pray for him, and he was supposed to
- 5:07raise up himself. Picking a dead man up and
- 5:10carrying him around is hardly what Jesus had in mind when He
- 5:12said raise the dead. Oh, I.
- 5:15Guess I'm not cut out to be a disciple.
- 5:18I'm too dumb. Go ahead and say it.
- 5:21I'm nothing but a big dumb slob. Hey, you're not dumb.
- 5:27I mean, Jesus wouldn't have picked you to go do his works if
- 5:30he didn't believe in you. Really.
- 5:33Yeah, we all make mistakes, but that doesn't mean we're dumb.
- 5:36Have you ever made a mistake, David?
- 5:38Yeah, I can think of 1. Wow, thanks David.
- 5:42I'm glad Jesus picked you to come with me.
- 5:45I've never had a friend before. All right.
- 5:50Would you be my friend? Sure, buddy.
- 5:54Put me down. Put me down buddy, do.
- 5:58You think Jesus will let us join the 12 disciples?
- 6:01Think about it, that would make 14 disciples.
- 6:05Oh yeah. Come on, we have to report into
- 6:08Jesus from now on, pay attention to what he says.
- 6:11Yeah. Remember, God makes His will
- 6:13known to us through godly parents and teachers, the Word
- 6:16of God and the Holy Spirit. What's the Holy Spirit?
- 6:20Forget I said that. Pretend I said Jesus.
- 6:23The Holy Spirit will come later after Jesus leaves.
- 6:25How do you know that? I just do.
- 6:28Trust me. Now come on, let's go.
- 6:45Rats, I wish. You would have given Jesus that
- 6:48perfume oil instead of pouring it on his feet.
- 6:51We could have sold that for what some people make in a year.
- 6:54I could have been rich. Judas, you looked pretty green
- 6:59in there when Mary poured the perfume on Jesus feet.
- 7:02Is the smell too strong for you? No, it's not.
- 7:05Yeah, that's what it was, Matthew.
- 7:07The smell was getting to me. Just between you and me before I
- 7:11met Jesus, I would have loved to collect the taxes on that stuff.
- 7:15Do you realize how much that perfume was worth?
- 7:18Boy do I I could have gotten me AI mean we could have fed a lot
- 7:24of poor people with that money. That's the truth.
- 7:27Say you're not upset that Mary poured the perfume on Jesus
- 7:30feet, are you? I can't believe Jesus stuck up
- 7:33for what Mary did. She wasted all that money, hey?
- 7:37It was her perfume, she can do whatever she wants with it.
- 7:41She must really love Jesus to give him such a nice gift.
- 7:45I know. It's just that, well, everyone
- 7:48looks to me when we meet someone that's poor because I keep all
- 7:51the money for the ministry. I guess I tend to worry about
- 7:55having enough money more than the rest of you do.
- 7:58Yeah, that's what it is. We always have more than enough.
- 8:01You know that God wants us to bless others, so He keeps on
- 8:05blessing us. Yeah, I know, but.
- 8:08But what? Nothing.
- 8:11You're right. There you are, Matthew.
- 8:13So what did you think when Mary poured that oil on Jesus's feet?
- 8:17I didn't know what to think. I guess I would have had a hard
- 8:20time believing that someone would give something that
- 8:23expensive if I hadn't seen it myself.
- 8:25She must really love him. Jesus did raise her brother from
- 8:28the dead, remember? Yeah, you're right.
- 8:31What about you, Judas? What did you think?
- 8:33We could have sold the perfume and fed a lot of poor people
- 8:36with the money that it was worth.
- 8:38But don't you just love Jesus? He's worth every penny of that
- 8:42oil and more. Jesus is our Good Shepherd.
- 8:45Amen. I'm ready to go back inside.
- 8:48Let's go. Coming Judas.
- 8:51No, you guys go on ahead. What's?
- 8:55Wrong with me. I used to be just like John.
- 8:58I love Jesus and he loves me. He trusts me so much.
- 9:03He lets me take care of all the money and I steal it.
- 9:07I've got to stop letting my greed for money control me.
- 9:11Maybe I should talk to Jesus and tell him what's been going on.
- 9:16No, I'll be OK. I'll straighten up.
- 9:21Excuse me fella. Yes, Sir.
- 9:23Can you keep a secret? I've been keeping a lot of
- 9:27secrets lately. Well, between you and me, the
- 9:31chief priests have plotted to kill Lazarus because so many
- 9:35Jews have believed in Jesus since he raised Lazarus from the
- 9:38dead. Lazarus.
- 9:40He never hurt anybody. Why don't they just kill Jesus
- 9:43if that's the way they feel? Well, they.
- 9:45'D like to kill Jesus. Someone could make a lot of
- 9:48money if he could deliver Jesus into the hands of the Chief.
- 9:52Priest. They'd pay money.
- 9:55What would a fellow have to? Do I mean do they want someone
- 10:01to kill him? No, no, no, no, no.
- 10:04They they just need someone to take their soldiers to where he
- 10:07is right after the Passover meal.
- 10:10So I wouldn't. I mean that someone wouldn't
- 10:13actually do the killing. Not at all.
- 10:16How much money could a fellow make?
- 10:18Well, you'll have to talk to the chief priests about that.
- 10:21I think I will. Thanks for the information,
- 10:24fellow. What's your name, Lucifer.
- 10:27Thanks, Lucifer. I'll see you later.
- 10:34Yes, Judas, you just might see me later in the Upside Down.
- 10:55This is Rover, the dog coming to you live from the road outside
- 10:59Jerusalem. Next to me used to stand a fig
- 11:03tree until yesterday when Jesus commanded the fig tree to die
- 11:07because it had no fruit on it. Here with me live is Peter, one
- 11:13of Jesus disciples. Peter, thank you for taking the
- 11:17time to talk to us. What exactly happened here
- 11:21yesterday? Well, Jesus was hungry and
- 11:25walked up to the fig tree that used to be here to get a fig,
- 11:29but there were no figs. That's when Jesus commanded the
- 11:33tree to die. So would you say that Jesus was
- 11:37angry at the tree? At the time, I didn't know what
- 11:41to think. It wasn't like Jesus to get mad
- 11:43at the tree. We just kind of forgot about it,
- 11:46honestly. Of course, now I realize that
- 11:49Jesus was just using it to teach us more about prayer.
- 11:53What happened this morning when you noticed the fig tree laying
- 11:57on the ground? I said, Jesus, look, the tree's
- 12:01dead. Isn't this the tree you got mad
- 12:03at yesterday? I said something like that, I
- 12:06can't remember exactly. How did Jesus respond?
- 12:10He started teaching us how to speak to mountains and command
- 12:13them to be cast in the sea. Did Jesus talk to any mountains?
- 12:18He wasn't talking about mountain mountains.
- 12:21Jesus was talking about problems, you know, sickness,
- 12:25disease, demons, that sort of thing.
- 12:28As we speak to problems with God's authority, He does the
- 12:32work. This fig tree used to be a
- 12:35convenient restroom for dogs on the road between Jerusalem and
- 12:39Bethany. There are a lot of dogs
- 12:41concerned about Jesus killing more trees.
- 12:46Do you feel like this is the beginning of some sort of tree
- 12:49killing spree? Jesus is on to prove a point.
- 12:53Well, I know Jesus would say I do not speak of my own
- 12:57authority, but the Father who dwells in me does the works.
- 13:01John, 1410. Thank you for your time, Peter.
- 13:05Thank you you. Heard him, my fellow canines, I
- 13:09do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who
- 13:12dwells in me does the works. John 1410.
- 13:17Jesus apparently has some sort of mob connection led by one
- 13:22called the Father. Is this the last tree to fall at
- 13:26the hands of this Jesus? I'll keep my nose on this story.
- 13:31I'm your roving reporter, Rover the dog.
- 13:41This is Rover, the dog coming to you live from Jerusalem, where
- 13:45unemployment among seeing eye dogs continues to rise.
- 13:50With me now is Peepers. Peepers.
- 13:53Until recently, you were employed as a seeing eye dog.
- 13:57Is that correct? Yes.
- 14:00Rover, My boss was a. Blind man, I've been working for
- 14:05him all my life. And what happened to change that
- 14:10for you? Some guy they called Jesus was
- 14:14healing people left and right. My boss could hear what the
- 14:19people were saying and how excited they were.
- 14:22He told me to take him to Jesus. I was just doing my job.
- 14:31I know this must be hard for you.
- 14:33Can you tell us what happened once you LED your boss to?
- 14:37Jesus. Jesus asked my boss what he want
- 14:41me to do. For you.
- 14:43My boss said. I want to receive my sight.
- 14:48That's when I knew I. That's when I knew I was in.
- 14:54Trouble. I was no dummy.
- 14:58I'd been hearing the people talk about the miracles of Jesus, and
- 15:03I knew right away he would heal my boss because that's just how
- 15:09Jesus is. He just goes about doing good.
- 15:15He said to my boss, go your way. Something like that.
- 15:20Why me? That's all I can say.
- 15:24How did Jesus do this to me? As he speaks to problems with
- 15:31God's authority, God does the works.
- 15:34I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who
- 15:37dwells in me does the works. John, 1410.
- 15:43What? It's something that one of Jesus
- 15:46disciples told me once, why Jesus does what he does.
- 15:50Jesus is doing what his Heavenly Father wants him to do.
- 15:54So what's your future like now, Peepers?
- 15:57Going to have to go back to begging now that I have no boss
- 16:01to beg for me. Life was easy when he did all
- 16:05the begging. He was a good.
- 16:10There you have it, my fellow canines.
- 16:12Most of the miracles of Jesus are truly wonderful, but some of
- 16:16them hit us dogs where it hurts. Life can be hard here in
- 16:20Jerusalem, but at least folks are not eating us for dinner.
- 16:24This is your roving reporter, Rover the dog.
- 16:36This is Rover the dog coming to you.
- 16:39Live from outside the temple. A crippled man was just
- 16:43miraculously healed. Rumors continue to spread that
- 16:47Jesus is still alive, but the man behind this miracle was one
- 16:52of Jesus disciples, Peter. Peter, thank you for taking the
- 16:57time to talk to us again. What exactly happened a few
- 17:01minutes ago at the temple gate? John and I were on our way to
- 17:04pray when we noticed a crippled man begging.
- 17:07We wanted to help him, but we didn't have any money with us at
- 17:10the time, so I just told him to rise up and walk in Jesus name.
- 17:14As we speak to problems with God's authority, He does the
- 17:18work. I'm familiar with this, speaking
- 17:21to mountain and casting into the sea philosophy that Jesus taught
- 17:25when he was alive. This is kind of the opposite, a
- 17:29more of commanding the blessing to come rise up and walk.
- 17:33How would you explain that? I guess the way to speak to the
- 17:38problem would be to speak to the answer that wood forest the
- 17:41problem to leave. All I can say is I do not speak
- 17:46on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does the
- 17:49works. John, 1410.
- 17:51I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who
- 17:55dwells in me does the works. John 1410.
- 17:59He obviously gives the credit for the miracle to God the
- 18:02Father. We are grateful that this time a
- 18:05crippled man was healed and not a blind man that would leave
- 18:09another dog out of work. Thank you, Peter, and thank you
- 18:13my fellow canines. This is your roving reporter,
- 18:17Rover the dog.
