Speaker 2: The worlds of Vigeon Podcasts. Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
• 0:19
Speaker 3: I did not care for the mic depth stuff.
• 0:23
Speaker 2: Like what what didn't you care for? To be clear,
• 0:25
Speaker 2: this is NFL film stuff. Yeah, I just not us,
• 0:29
  Speaker 2: not us.
• 0:29
Speaker 3: I kind of speak to Christian Barmore.
• 0:34
  Speaker 2: I think it's a good discussion.
• 0:35
Speaker 4: It's probably bigger than this show, but nothing's bigger than
• 0:38
  Speaker 4: this show fall.
• 0:39
Speaker 2: That's a great point. I thanks you guys.
• 0:41
Speaker 5: I know you're not going to agree with me, but
• 0:42
Speaker 5: I just got to address the nonsense.
• 0:45
Speaker 2: So far, the only thing we agree with is that
• 0:46
Speaker 2: where we weren't going to agree with you. I think
• 0:50
Speaker 2: you and Bos should have guests and you should bring
• 0:52
Speaker 2: in Ty Taylor once. We'd be happy to know. Why not.
• 0:55
Speaker 2: It can be only one organization, seems like.
• 1:02
Speaker 6: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website.

Speaker 2: For deals, buy a Toyota dot com. All right, welcome
• 1:11
Speaker 2: the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Thursday here at Jillette Stadium,
• 1:16
Speaker 2: and we got a big crew here. No Deuce but
• 1:19
Speaker 2: we've added Alex and Chris Cassidy was in the neighborhood,
• 1:23
Speaker 2: so he figured he'd stop by. Nice. Nice of you
• 1:27
Speaker 2: to stop by. Probably no, Chris, or maybe you don't.
• 1:30
Speaker 2: From the madd and sim every week he's the one
• 1:33
Speaker 2: that predicts the Patriots will lose. So thanks for that.
• 1:38
Speaker 7: Hey, look at where going us, Fred, Look where it
• 1:40
Speaker 7: got us all the way there?
• 1:41
Speaker 2: That's right, Yeah, that's right. And of course it's Paul.
• 1:44
Speaker 2: And it's what's your name again?
• 1:47
  Speaker 3: Evan was Alex.
• 1:50
Speaker 4: Alex list is almost as disrespectful as you know.
• 1:54
Speaker 2: I'm getting to be like my grandmother, like where I
• 1:58
Speaker 2: have to name everybody name in the family before I
• 2:01
Speaker 2: get to the right one.
• 2:03
  Speaker 8: I was.
• 2:05
Speaker 3: I was offended for you, but it happens. At least
• 2:09
Speaker 3: he doesn't call me.
• 2:10
Speaker 2: He didn't call me Eric last night. I was like, uh,
• 2:14
Speaker 2: Tucker Connor, Nicky. I mean, you know, so I'm naming
• 2:16
Speaker 2: my son the dog and then I got to my
• 2:18
Speaker 2: wife's name. So yeah, it's getting bad anyway. All right,
• 2:23
Speaker 2: we're here and we're talking Patriots for the next two
• 2:26
Speaker 2: hours and probably anything else that we want to talk about. Chris,
• 2:29
Speaker 2: did you come with anything since you're the guy.
• 2:32
Speaker 7: I mean just it's been a little crazy couple of
• 2:34
  Speaker 7: weeks kind of.
• 2:36
Speaker 2: Post super Bowl. It was your first super Bowl. I
• 2:38
Speaker 2: was was your first super Bowl? What was your really
• 2:41
Speaker 2: kind of Evan too right, Yeah, what was your take?
• 2:47
Speaker 7: Kind of crazy just overall crazy week. It was a
• 2:49
Speaker 7: fun week, you know, tough to see the team go
• 2:53
Speaker 7: down the way they did. Obviously, you make it all
• 2:55
Speaker 7: the way there. You want to come out on top.
• 2:57
Speaker 7: That's everybody's mindset when they go to the super Bowl.
• 2:59
Speaker 7: But uh, the experience was just amazing.
• 3:02
Speaker 2: So what was anything that like I didn't think it
• 3:05
Speaker 2: was going to be like that in what sense? Like
• 3:08
Speaker 2: you tell me, oh, like you know all the things
• 3:12
Speaker 2: that were going on or the setup or.
• 3:15
Speaker 7: I would say, I mean just I'm not quite where
• 3:19
Speaker 7: your question was going. But my favorite part was just
• 3:22
Speaker 7: being at Stafford for practices and stuff like taking over
• 3:25
Speaker 7: the Stanford facility like that was just so cool to me.
• 3:28
Speaker 7: And it's just crazy that massive school like that acc
• 3:32
Speaker 7: school opens up the doors and just gives you the
• 3:35
Speaker 7: entire facility from the weight room to the field, to
• 3:38
Speaker 7: locker room to the baths and all that stuff. Like
• 3:41
Speaker 7: just kind of crazy that like a team would do.
• 3:45
Speaker 2: That from wait will you see World Cup? I know,
• 3:48
Speaker 2: talk about giving up yourself somebody else.
• 3:50
  Speaker 9: That's coming up.
• 3:51
Speaker 10: Don't get married to your work area.
• 3:54
Speaker 2: So so you like, no, Stanford was a nice setting.
• 3:57
Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that was that was for me. I
• 4:00
Speaker 7: think that was one of the cooler parts of it.
• 4:02
Speaker 7: I spent most of my days there with practice with
• 4:04
Speaker 7: the team and stuff like that. But I would unfortunately
• 4:07
Speaker 7: I wasn't able to get over to you guys at
• 4:08
Speaker 7: Radio Row, which I wish I was able to, but
• 4:11
Speaker 7: I would have thrived.
• 4:12
Speaker 10: Would have been my element, But that's okay, it was
• 4:14
  Speaker 10: your element.
• 4:16
Speaker 4: But no, being I didn't get to Stanford, that's like myeah.
• 4:21
Speaker 3: And they regreted the week we should have switched places
• 4:23
  Speaker 3: one day.
• 4:24
Speaker 9: It was cool even whenever you need man, whenever you
• 4:26
  Speaker 9: need I know.
• 4:28
Speaker 11: From Radio Row tried to pitch it.
• 4:31
Speaker 2: Yeah. I went over on Saturday when they had the
• 4:34
Speaker 2: team picture to Stanford, and yes, it was really.
• 4:37
Speaker 9: Nice, beautiful, Like the facility is just amazing.
• 4:40
Speaker 7: I had time to like walk around and you know,
• 4:43
Speaker 7: you see everything that they put into their athletic facilities. Uh,
• 4:47
Speaker 7: just built a brand new softball facility, like for opening day,
• 4:51
Speaker 7: and then we were patrios are practicing for that opening
• 4:54
Speaker 7: day game, Like you're gonna go to the game.
• 4:56
Speaker 9: I was like, I were working, but kind.
• 4:58
Speaker 2: Of wanted to like hit some tennis on the courts
• 5:00
Speaker 2: that John McEnroe played on.
• 5:02
Speaker 7: Yeah, okay, you know you're gonna have to teach me
• 5:04
Speaker 7: some more about tennis, bred.
• 5:05
  Speaker 9: I don't know.
• 5:06
Speaker 2: Well, let's got a racket and the ball. I mean,
• 5:08
Speaker 2: what what don't you know about it? I don't know
• 5:10
Speaker 2: a lot about the people people.
• 5:12
Speaker 7: Oh, I know Roger Fetder, Ralph and all those guys.
• 5:16
Speaker 4: Oh all right, Serena start, Yeah, you're good. What John
• 5:22
Speaker 4: McEnroe probably was done playing twenty years before.
• 5:27
Speaker 3: Everybody was done playing, twenty years before Chris was born.
• 5:29
Speaker 9: Wow, you guys sing him a lot younger than I am.
• 5:32
  Speaker 2: No, we don't.
• 5:33
Speaker 12: We think here is a younger twenty four, twenty four
• 5:36
Speaker 12: young Drake May May.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: What you're younger than Drake Drake May May.
• 5:40
  Speaker 9: I'm a year older.
• 5:41
Speaker 12: I think twenty three going on twenty four. Yeah, I
• 5:44
Speaker 12: mean you're I'm twenty four, so year older. I'm gonna
• 5:47
Speaker 12: be talking about I'm going to be twenty.
• 5:49
Speaker 3: Five, Okay, But I don't know, were you born for
• 5:52
Speaker 3: this for thirty six? We was barely that.
• 5:54
Speaker 9: We talked about that.
• 5:55
Speaker 7: I think I was like four months or five months
• 5:57
Speaker 7: old time if that one of my favorite memories.
• 6:03
Speaker 13: Yeah, and we're off all right, So we talked about
• 6:10
Speaker 13: the Zach core H officially made defensive.
• 6:14
Speaker 2: Coordinator on Tuesday. Brian Dable now the o C at
• 6:20
  Speaker 2: the Titans.
• 6:22
Speaker 3: Yes, three weeks ago.
• 6:25
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was three weeks ago. Really did you ever notice? Okay, yeah,
• 6:33
Speaker 2: believe my ex timeline is slow then because I just
• 6:37
Speaker 2: got all the tweets.
• 6:38
Speaker 10: Might have to switch a filter there and most recent.
• 6:44
Speaker 14: But that week we were so busy, like I didn't
• 6:46
Speaker 14: pay attention to anything happening on Twitter that wasn't Patriots affiliated.
• 6:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, weird. We're kind of planning spot for him, if
• 6:54
Speaker 3: we want to talk about Brian Dable kind of a
• 6:56
  Speaker 3: weird spot.
• 6:57
Speaker 7: I had a feeling that Buffalo could have been in
• 7:00
Speaker 7: the cards for him.
• 7:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think he was probably pretty Do.
• 7:03
Speaker 2: You think like beggars can't be choosing? Maybe he didn't
• 7:06
Speaker 2: have a lot offers.
• 7:07
Speaker 3: I feel like as an OC he probably would have.
• 7:09
Speaker 3: I would think there were.
• 7:10
Speaker 10: A lot of coordinators that changed jobs.
• 7:13
  Speaker 2: Yeah, now Buffalo.
• 7:14
Speaker 4: I can understand if Joe Brady didn't want, oh yeah,
• 7:16
Speaker 4: kind of an offensive coordinator, because he's kind of the offensive.
• 7:20
Speaker 3: There's a lot of their head coach position in Buffalo.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: I get it from the Tennessee perspective to have him
• 7:27
Speaker 3: work with cam Ward as a home run, it's.
• 7:29
Speaker 10: A great, great hire for Tennessee.
• 7:31
Speaker 3: I would have thought that Brian Dable would have better
• 7:33
Speaker 3: offers a rosters not good.
• 7:36
  Speaker 9: Yeah, I don't know.
• 7:37
  Speaker 7: I I kinda I like Joe Brady in Buffalo. I
• 7:40
Speaker 7: think he's gonna be a good coach over there. I
• 7:43
Speaker 7: feel like they kind of took the easy.
• 7:44
Speaker 9: Route going to Joe Brady.
• 7:46
Speaker 7: But you kind of look at that field of coaches
• 7:49
Speaker 7: that were available, and do you want to go with
• 7:53
Speaker 7: a guy who you're comfortable with or do you want
• 7:55
Speaker 7: to go with just kind of another guy who's had
• 7:59
Speaker 7: a name for him. So in the NFL mediocre type
• 8:03
Speaker 7: seasons like kind of hard to dip your foot in
• 8:07
  Speaker 7: that water.
• 8:08
Speaker 11: So you wonder how much Josh Allen had.
• 8:11
Speaker 2: Supposedly he will head a lot.
• 8:13
Speaker 11: So st if your star quarterback wants this guy, yeaheah.
• 8:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess Joe Brady make him come.
• 8:19
Speaker 3: I mean, obviously all the reporting comes out after the
• 8:21
Speaker 3: fact that he's what a great candidate, but he apparently
• 8:25
Speaker 3: had a great interview process with the Bills and had
• 8:28
Speaker 3: a whole plan and was very organized and uh, you
• 8:31
Speaker 3: know things that we talk about a lot with Rabel
• 8:33
Speaker 3: where he had a plan for different like arms of
• 8:36
Speaker 3: the organization, not just you know x's and o's and
• 8:39
Speaker 3: stuff like that. So they've had a lot of issues
• 8:42
Speaker 3: with injuries, their training staff, their medical staff, and he
• 8:47
Speaker 3: has I guess, like a whole blueprint of how they're
• 8:49
Speaker 3: going to revamp that whole thing and be more sports
• 8:52
Speaker 3: science ye and and more modern with that.
• 8:55
Speaker 2: So okay, thanks for them.
• 8:56
Speaker 3: They feel like they're in the right direction.
• 8:59
Speaker 2: Another NFL news he brought it up. You asked, So
• 9:05
Speaker 2: the Seahawks are officially for sale. Any anybody interested?
• 9:09
  Speaker 11: I wish I was.
• 9:09
Speaker 2: Maybe Brady'll take it. I wish I could.
• 9:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess this is uh was always coming. This
• 9:15
Speaker 3: is part of the Paul Allen the state.
• 9:17
Speaker 12: That they knew that even before the super they're going
• 9:19
Speaker 12: to congraduate I think, right, But how lucky did they
• 9:22
Speaker 12: get to be able to capture on this, Like do
• 9:25
Speaker 12: you think that kind of like when the Celtics won.
• 9:28
Speaker 2: In the fact that they're recent Super Bowl winners.
• 9:30
Speaker 3: I would assume they's state of the team and the
• 9:32
Speaker 3: fact that they are going to be a successful team
• 9:34
Speaker 3: for a while. I mean, do they have a chance
• 9:38
Speaker 3: of being double digits like ten billion plus?
• 9:41
Speaker 2: They got a good situation there, They get their own stadium.
• 9:44
Speaker 2: I don't know what their training facility is like, but
• 9:47
Speaker 2: I assume it's pretty nice. I mean, Paul Allen had
• 9:49
Speaker 2: a lot of dough so so that's good. Patrick Mahomes
• 9:53
Speaker 2: got restructured. They saved a lot of cap money over there.
• 9:59
Speaker 3: Meanwhile, do you want to a cut or restructure every
• 10:02
Speaker 3: player on the team because we're worried about the cap?
• 10:04
Speaker 3: Who's we you know, just the.
• 10:06
Speaker 2: People out there the fond, Your people getting annoyed for
• 10:09
Speaker 2: fond so like most people like just attacking you.
• 10:13
Speaker 3: So last night, Uh, actually, this is like kind of
• 10:16
Speaker 3: Patriots to Jason. God, it's so annoying. This is Patriots
• 10:21
Speaker 3: to Jason. Right. So, Wyatt Tellor with the Browns is
• 10:24
Speaker 3: not going to go back to Cleveland. He's gonna he
• 10:26
Speaker 3: was a free agent already, but he's definitely.
• 10:28
Speaker 2: Not going this is the guard right he's a guard.
• 10:30
Speaker 3: He plays right guard, so he doesn't play the position
• 10:34
Speaker 3: the Patriots need to fill, which is left guard. He
• 10:36
Speaker 3: plays right guard. So someone asked me, what what's your
• 10:39
Speaker 3: take on why Teller? So I said, well, he's played
• 10:42
Speaker 3: he plays right guard. He's been a right guard his
• 10:44
Speaker 3: entire career. And then I get tweets like well, Mike
• 10:48
Speaker 3: on when whose cap hits really high? Like maybe you
• 10:51
Speaker 3: know you you move on from Big Mike and you
• 10:53
Speaker 3: replace him with Wyatt Teller, And I'm just like, why
• 10:56
Speaker 3: do you care? Like why do you care? Why what
• 10:59
Speaker 3: his cap is? When they have forty one million dollars
• 11:02
Speaker 3: in cap space, Like it would be one thing if
• 11:04
  Speaker 3: they were Like.
• 11:05
Speaker 10: If they're the same player, then fine, Like but I
• 11:09
Speaker 10: don't know, Like I just want the.
• 11:10
Speaker 2: Better player, Yeah, whoever better.
• 11:12
Speaker 4: I saw a thing today with the rankings of all
• 11:16
Speaker 4: the guards in pass protection, and I don't know whose
• 11:20
Speaker 4: rankings they were, but Mike oh Wn who was the
• 11:22
Speaker 4: second ranked right guard in terms of pass protection last year,
• 11:27
Speaker 4: Jared Wilson was well down the list, and left guards
• 11:29
Speaker 4: he was like twenty fifth or twenty sixth.
• 11:32
Speaker 3: He had a good year. I mean it was an
• 11:34
Speaker 3: All Pro caliber garden.
• 11:35
Speaker 2: Why are we worried about what he makes?
• 11:37
  Speaker 15: Right?
• 11:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I understand why Robert Kraft worries about
• 11:39
Speaker 4: what he makes. I mean that's important to the to
• 11:42
Speaker 4: the team. But in terms of the cap, you have
• 11:44
Speaker 4: a really good player who makes a lot of money,
• 11:47
Speaker 4: that's okay. It's when you have really bad players that
• 11:50
Speaker 4: make a lot of money that you have to make moves. Yeah,
• 11:53
Speaker 4: you know, you know what I mean.
• 11:54
Speaker 2: People do get too involved in the money part of it,
• 11:57
  Speaker 2: you know, and.
• 11:57
  Speaker 4: I and it's so easy, I mean, good, can't you
• 12:00
Speaker 4: just start this whole segment off with what Kansas City did?
• 12:04
Speaker 4: So you make one minor little tweak in paperwork and
• 12:08
Speaker 4: you get forty four million dollars in cap.
• 12:10
  Speaker 1: Space, right.
• 12:12
Speaker 2: Your guy Brian Morey was quick on Twitter to explain
• 12:15
Speaker 2: to people, it's just credit card economics.
• 12:17
Speaker 10: Right, And you know what they'll do next year, They'll
• 12:19
Speaker 10: just kill doing again.
• 12:20
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 12:20
Speaker 4: Unless there are no ramiplications, there's interest, there's not even interesting.
• 12:31
  Speaker 3: Anymore.
• 12:32
Speaker 2: You're just putting it off, is all. You're doing.
• 12:34
Speaker 11: The can down the road.
• 12:36
Speaker 3: But you know, if they were tight against the cap,
• 12:38
Speaker 3: then that would be.
• 12:39
Speaker 10: Brian still thinks the cap exists.
• 12:41
Speaker 2: Still, imagine we could manage our credit cards like they
• 12:44
Speaker 2: manage the cap. I've tried balance.
• 12:53
Speaker 4: That's the big difference between credit cards and the NFL
• 12:55
Speaker 4: salvage heaven one word interest.
• 12:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I mean again they if we were sitting
• 13:02
Speaker 3: here today and they only had ten million dollars in
• 13:06
Speaker 3: cap space and people wanted to discuss how can they
• 13:09
Speaker 3: create more cap space, that would be one thing. But
• 13:12
Speaker 3: with forty one million dollars in cap space, they have
• 13:14
Speaker 3: the flexibility to do anything that they want. They could
• 13:17
Speaker 3: sign trade for anyone with that kind of cap space.
• 13:20
Speaker 3: So there have a roster that was just in the
• 13:23
Speaker 3: Super Bowl that's also top ten in cap space. Going
• 13:26
Speaker 3: into free agency, they have no money problems, Like there's
• 13:29
Speaker 3: no issues with the cap. And I keep hearing about
• 13:33
Speaker 3: Digs and on WHENU and Bradbury and Henry and like
• 13:37
Speaker 3: all these guys are getting a little bit older that
• 13:39
Speaker 3: people are like, well, you know, he's not going to
• 13:42
Speaker 3: be worth a twenty five million dollar cap hit, and
• 13:44
Speaker 3: it's like, well, if he has another thousand yard receiver season,
• 13:48
Speaker 3: then Stefan Diggs might be worth a twenty five million
• 13:50
Speaker 3: dollar cap hit. When the big guys are getting paid
• 13:52
  Speaker 3: forty r so.
• 13:54
Speaker 4: And that's the that to me is the only differentiation.
• 13:57
Speaker 4: Do you think you have a player who's better than
• 13:59
  Speaker 4: that guy?
• 14:00
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 14:00
Speaker 4: And if you do, then I'm all for making a move.
• 14:04
Speaker 4: I don't care if it's for less money as long
• 14:06
  Speaker 4: as he's a better player.
• 14:07
  Speaker 2: Yep.
• 14:09
Speaker 4: So if you think you can do better than eighty
• 14:11
Speaker 4: five for one thousand at twenty six million on the cap,
• 14:13
Speaker 4: which is what Digs gave.
• 14:14
Speaker 2: You, then do it. Yep.
• 14:16
Speaker 4: You know, if you want to trade for aj Brown,
• 14:20
Speaker 4: you know that's something I'd be interested in at the
• 14:22
Speaker 4: right price, or you know, sign a free agent wide
• 14:25
Speaker 4: receiver like I keep talking about Alec Pierce, but that's
• 14:28
Speaker 4: not going to be cheap. I'm not looking to sign
• 14:30
Speaker 4: a guy for two million and thinking I'm going to
• 14:32
  Speaker 4: get better production.
• 14:33
Speaker 2: Yep. Sticking with the NFL news now, the Raiders are
• 14:39
Speaker 2: kind of interested in trading match Crosby, but the price
• 14:44
Speaker 2: that they've put out there is exorbitant. They want two
• 14:48
Speaker 2: first round picks and a player.
• 14:50
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's cool to want things right, you know. I
• 14:52
Speaker 3: mean they're basically going off of like the Micah Parsons
• 14:57
Speaker 3: trade framework. But he's older years older than Parsons, and
• 15:00
  Speaker 3: I don't think he's as good. He's probably not as
• 15:03
Speaker 3: good as a pass rusher. He's a better run defender
• 15:04
  Speaker 3: than Michael Parsons.
• 15:05
Speaker 2: Actually, you know what, I think did a comparable player?
• 15:08
Speaker 2: Take that back? Thinking about Garrett, Miles or whatever, Miles,
• 15:12
Speaker 2: Miles Garrett better than both of them.
• 15:14
Speaker 4: To persons, I think Miles Garrett is better than better
• 15:17
Speaker 4: than all of them.
• 15:17
Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I thought you were saying that. No, no, no,
• 15:20
  Speaker 2: he got it.
• 15:20
Speaker 3: Yeah, I I thanks seven the Max.
• 15:26
Speaker 2: Yeah, but a very condescending way.
• 15:28
  Speaker 15: Yeah, that was.
• 15:32
  Speaker 8: So quickly.
• 15:33
  Speaker 2: And I don't want to I don't want it to
• 15:34
Speaker 2: rail you send them a little bit.
• 15:36
Speaker 3: No, I didn't remember my name.
• 15:39
Speaker 2: Spider. You know, shoots in the foot.
• 15:44
Speaker 10: What can I say? I'm a good shot?
• 15:50
Speaker 3: Uh? No, to first in a player is crazy. For
• 15:54
Speaker 3: Max Crosby, I would say this age and you know,
• 15:57
Speaker 3: just the Raiders. I don't really know what so fear
• 15:59
  Speaker 3: the Raiders?
• 16:00
Speaker 2: Which one do you come off? You settle for one
• 16:04
Speaker 2: and a player or do you settle for it.
• 16:07
Speaker 3: Just I personally would take the two first, but I
• 16:10
Speaker 3: think they might settle for one in the player. Maybe
• 16:12
Speaker 3: plus like a third or one.
• 16:15
Speaker 10: In a lower pick. Yeah, plus a player.
• 16:17
Speaker 3: Because I think teams are really caught up in this. Well,
• 16:19
Speaker 3: if we're going to trade Max Crosby, now we don't
• 16:22
Speaker 3: have a left defensive end, so who's going to play
• 16:24
Speaker 3: the left defensive end spot? So let's get a left
• 16:26
Speaker 3: defensive end in the trade, and now you know we
• 16:29
Speaker 3: we kind of mitigate some of the damage by doing that.
• 16:33
Speaker 3: But the Raiders, I will say for positive on the
• 16:37
Speaker 3: Raiders because that trade scenario schefter throughout is crazy. I
• 16:40
Speaker 3: have been watching some of the Indiana wide receivers over
• 16:43
Speaker 3: the last twenty four hours. Mendoza is going to be
• 16:46
Speaker 3: really really good. That that guy's got it. So they're
• 16:49
Speaker 3: lucky there. They lucked into a quarterback, I think, but
• 16:53
  Speaker 3: they've they've got a long way to go, So I
• 16:55
Speaker 3: would rather take the picks. You know.
• 16:57
Speaker 2: I like Mendoza. I like his comportment too.
• 17:00
Speaker 3: He stands in there, he gets hit in the pocket
• 17:03
Speaker 3: and makes throws, you know, under pressure.
• 17:05
Speaker 2: I think he's really good in He'll be quick to
• 17:08
  Speaker 2: lead as well.
• 17:10
  Speaker 9: For sure.
• 17:10
Speaker 2: Coming off our Tuesday conversation, what was I going to
• 17:16
Speaker 2: say something about Crosby and oh, somebody on a caller
• 17:22
Speaker 2: on one of Paul's shows made a point that the
• 17:25
Speaker 2: people on the host on Paul shows agreed with that
• 17:28
Speaker 2: if you're the Patriots, or if you're trading with the Patriots,
• 17:33
Speaker 2: you might be looking more to their twenty seven draft
• 17:36
Speaker 2: pick because twenty six might be is going to be lower.
• 17:42
Speaker 3: I see what you're saying. Yeah, I mean maybe, and
• 17:46
Speaker 3: if you believe and I don't really like doing this,
• 17:48
Speaker 3: but the way people are talking about the twenty twenty
• 17:51
Speaker 3: seven draft is like there's going to be ten Hall
• 17:53
Speaker 3: of Famers in that draft. So if you believe that,
• 17:56
Speaker 3: you know, this is our things that front offices look
• 17:59
Speaker 3: at and the project ahead to what the class is
• 18:01
Speaker 3: going to look like next year, maybe you do feel
• 18:04
Speaker 3: that way. You know, the Raiders probably aren't thinking quarterback
• 18:08
Speaker 3: because they're probably going to take Mendoza, but Jeremiah Smith's
• 18:11
Speaker 3: going to be in the twenty twenty seven draft. So
• 18:12
Speaker 3: do you try to load up on picks in twenty
• 18:15
Speaker 3: twenty seven so that you can get Mendoza a number
• 18:18
Speaker 3: one wide receiver, you know, in the twenty seven draft
• 18:20
Speaker 3: something like that. I could see that, you know, I
• 18:23
Speaker 3: think that those picks are going to be tough to
• 18:26
Speaker 3: part with for a lot of teams. I don't know,
• 18:28
Speaker 3: if you know, especially teams that project themselves, like you're
• 18:32
Speaker 3: kind of saying, to maybe be top twenty in the draft.
• 18:36
Speaker 3: I don't know, they might have a little bit more
• 18:38
Speaker 3: value because of how.
• 18:39
Speaker 2: But if you can, if you can convince the Raiders,
• 18:41
Speaker 2: say listen, we'll give you our twenty seven first and
• 18:44
Speaker 2: a player instead of two for you know, maybe maybe
• 18:48
Speaker 2: you can convince them.
• 18:49
  Speaker 3: I don't know, yeah, I mean it's always hard to
• 18:53
Speaker 3: project the year out with drafts, and people do this
• 18:55
Speaker 3: all the time. They all look at the quarterback class
• 18:58
Speaker 3: next year, like that's the year.
• 18:59
Speaker 14: Is just relative to this year's class or is it
• 19:02
Speaker 14: actually a little bit of both.
• 19:04
Speaker 3: I mean, Jeremiah Smith, the Ohio state wide receiver, is
• 19:07
Speaker 3: like a generational wide receiver prospect, and he's.
• 19:10
Speaker 2: Gonna be kind of tail off this season. No, that's right,
• 19:13
Speaker 2: that's the young kid. Yeah right.
• 19:16
Speaker 3: But there's like three, maybe four receivers that would probably
• 19:21
Speaker 3: be top ten picks in most drafts, and Jeremiah Smith
• 19:24
Speaker 3: might be the number one overall pick in twenty seven,
• 19:26
Speaker 3: So you know that that's a guy that is going
• 19:29
Speaker 3: to have like a sweepstakes to be able to get him. So,
• 19:33
Speaker 3: especially if you're a team like the Raiders that thinks
• 19:35
Speaker 3: that you already have the quarter young quarterback in place.
• 19:38
Speaker 2: Chances are the Patriots are not gonna be that bad
• 19:40
Speaker 2: where you go. I hope you have a pick that
• 19:42
Speaker 2: can get you that guy.
• 19:43
Speaker 4: No, but if you get that pick and you you know,
• 19:47
Speaker 4: bundle of yeah, you have more ammunition. And you know,
• 19:51
Speaker 4: obviously you're right right about the Patriots pick because I
• 19:54
Speaker 4: mean it almost has to be a higher pick than
• 19:56
Speaker 4: this rights we win the Super Bowl.
• 20:00
Speaker 10: So that's the only way it could be.
• 20:03
Speaker 2: You know, the question is how much higher?
• 20:05
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 20:05
  Speaker 13: Right?
• 20:06
  Speaker 2: Yeah?
• 20:07
Speaker 7: I mean my thought with all of it is, I
• 20:09
Speaker 7: mean I believe Hendrickson's a free agent this year, right yeah, Henderson,
• 20:12
Speaker 7: Like how much are you willing to go in on
• 20:15
Speaker 7: Max Crosby if Henderson Hendrickson is available, I mean similar
• 20:19
Speaker 7: age range if Raiders are going to be complicated with
• 20:23
  Speaker 7: Max Crosby?
• 20:24
Speaker 2: Like, not that similar? So Hendrickson is a little older,
• 20:27
Speaker 2: right is he older?
• 20:28
  Speaker 10: Three years old?
• 20:29
Speaker 2: But you don't have to give up an asset. I thought,
• 20:31
Speaker 2: just how to pay him?
• 20:32
Speaker 3: You know, it's a really it's a really good edge market,
• 20:35
Speaker 3: both in free agency and in the draft, and then
• 20:39
Speaker 3: if you assume Max Crosby is going to get moved
• 20:40
  Speaker 3: in trade also, and so there's a lot there's a
• 20:43
Speaker 3: surplus of edges right now throughout the entire NFL. So
• 20:47
Speaker 3: that kind of conversation is going to come up of
• 20:50
Speaker 3: do we want to give up capital to acquire Max Crosby,
• 20:53
Speaker 3: or you know, do we feel like we could sign
• 20:56
Speaker 3: Trey Hendrickson, We could sign Bowie Mafi, we could sign
• 21:00
Speaker 3: you know, player X, draft player Y at thirty one.
• 21:04
Speaker 3: That might not be quite what Max Crosby is, but
• 21:07
Speaker 3: better bang for the buck and not giving up the
• 21:09
  Speaker 3: draft keep.
• 21:10
Speaker 4: Your picks, you get the opportunity to continue to, you know,
• 21:13
Speaker 4: add to your young core of talent. Yeah, it's a
• 21:16
Speaker 4: two year difference, not three. Chris I was one year off.
• 21:19
Speaker 4: He'll be thirty one during the season. So you plug
• 21:25
Speaker 4: him in maybe for a short term, big money deal.
• 21:27
Speaker 4: Maybe you give him, you know, two or three year
• 21:29
Speaker 4: deal for a lot of money, but you think you're
• 21:32
Speaker 4: probably going to get good production out of him now
• 21:34
Speaker 4: he has been banged up a little bit.
• 21:36
Speaker 2: The last couple of years. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
• 21:39
Speaker 4: I could I could be talked into that as a
• 21:41
Speaker 4: consolation price a little schedule talk schedule.
• 21:46
Speaker 2: In terms of international games, they announced Mexico City that
• 21:52
Speaker 2: who would be the home team?
• 21:53
Speaker 3: I think San Francisco, and.
• 21:54
Speaker 2: They're not on our schedule. So the possible international games
• 21:58
Speaker 2: for the Patriots to shrinking Munich is still on the table.
• 22:02
Speaker 3: We got all Europe now, just London, Madrid in Munich, right,
• 22:06
Speaker 3: So there's three London games, so we still have five chances,
• 22:10
Speaker 3: you know, if you think about it. The Jaguars obviously
• 22:13
Speaker 3: will host a London game and they are on the
• 22:14
Speaker 3: Patriots schedule, so that we.
• 22:17
  Speaker 10: Go to Jacksonville.
• 22:18
Speaker 3: Yeah, so that could be a possibility. But there's still
• 22:22
Speaker 3: five games. But now they're all in Europe, no Brazil, right.
• 22:25
Speaker 10: And we also just played Jacksonville in London, we did
• 22:28
  Speaker 10: two years ago.
• 22:29
Speaker 2: So I don't know. I put odds on Munich, but
• 22:33
  Speaker 2: I don't have any info.
• 22:34
Speaker 3: Just so you know, there was rumors and it's totally rumored,
• 22:38
Speaker 3: conjectured that the Giants might be the home team in
• 22:41
Speaker 3: Munich and they're not.
• 22:43
Speaker 2: They're not on our schedule.
• 22:44
Speaker 3: In Australia, the Rams, it's Rams forty nine ers is
• 22:50
Speaker 3: that next year, Paris is New Orleans. I want to.
• 22:54
Speaker 4: Say, yeah, what we were talking about the connection, Yeah,
• 22:59
  Speaker 4: all the cities.
• 23:00
Speaker 3: Dallas is in Rio, the Cowboys or Madrid in Rio.
• 23:04
Speaker 3: Madrid's up in the air. We don't know yet. Her chiefs,
• 23:07
Speaker 3: her Dolphins chiefs are on the schedule, but obviously Miami schedule.
• 23:14
Speaker 3: But we haven't do We have five five chances still
• 23:16
Speaker 3: five chances. Three of them are London.
• 23:18
Speaker 4: And then we also played Detroit to this like speculation
• 23:21
Speaker 4: that thanks Giving could be on the table again.
• 23:24
Speaker 10: See what I did that thanks We got.
• 23:25
Speaker 2: To start thinking about what we're going to do for
• 23:26
  Speaker 2: schedule release.
• 23:28
Speaker 11: We've had those meetings.
• 23:29
Speaker 2: Last year we had Portnoy, and he was right about
• 23:31
  Speaker 2: everything he said.
• 23:33
Speaker 10: It was he He wasn't about three games.
• 23:37
  Speaker 3: He's pretty good.
• 23:39
Speaker 4: Assume we missed three games when we had him doesn't
• 23:42
Speaker 4: see it, so I can't tell you for sure, but
• 23:44
Speaker 4: I assume three games he had.
• 23:46
Speaker 2: Paul doesn't watch our content.
• 23:47
  Speaker 3: I don't watch.
• 23:48
  Speaker 2: I don't watch schedule.
• 23:49
Speaker 11: You've never seen good Jewels?
• 23:50
Speaker 9: Did you watch that?
• 23:52
Speaker 10: Utterly bored by scheduling studios?
• 23:55
Speaker 2: I watched if it's not The Bachelorette about watch.
• 24:01
Speaker 4: Something and I know, you know, like some of the
• 24:04
Speaker 4: luster is lost. But the super Bowl hype video that
• 24:07
Speaker 4: we put out, Free bird with Free Bird by it
• 24:11
Speaker 4: was one of our contem Michael Rundy.
• 24:14
Speaker 10: I want to give him watch that. That's good content.
• 24:17
Speaker 10: That's good stuff. I watched stuff.
• 24:19
  Speaker 2: Fred.
• 24:19
Speaker 4: I just don't have any interest in watching a video
• 24:21
Speaker 4: of something I already know, like the schedule, it's entertainment.
• 24:28
  Speaker 2: I don't really find entertainment, and I know you don't
• 24:31
Speaker 2: like any of it. Steve in the North Country wants
• 24:34
Speaker 2: to know who's the big dude, Holy mackerel, what a
• 24:37
Speaker 2: melan on him? Get a share friend? He makes Alex
• 24:45
Speaker 2: look like a gnome.
• 24:46
Speaker 7: Yeah, it's partially because it makes to Alex I feel
• 24:49
Speaker 7: like I'm like two.
• 24:51
Speaker 2: I'm like, you kind of brushed over that.
• 24:53
Speaker 10: Get Paul a new car thing that you guys.
• 24:56
  Speaker 2: You're talking guys, you're talking.
• 24:59
Speaker 9: The guy with the big melon. I appreciate that.
• 25:02
Speaker 14: Around it, like the Patriots Premier, people just assume you're
• 25:05
Speaker 14: like a young line he.
• 25:06
  Speaker 3: Was Will Campbell.
• 25:07
Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, last year that was so funny.
• 25:09
Speaker 7: Yeah, so that was That's one of my favorite, one
• 25:13
Speaker 7: of my favorite stories that I will die so far
• 25:17
Speaker 7: I would fight and die to protect our quarterback. But
• 25:21
Speaker 7: it's okay, I don't know. That was probably one of
• 25:24
Speaker 7: my funnier moments here was.
• 25:31
  Speaker 11: The draft day.
• 25:31
Speaker 7: After the draft, we were hosting here for the official visit,
• 25:35
Speaker 7: and he was just kind of I was put on
• 25:39
Speaker 7: to cover him, shoot some my iPhone video of him whenever,
• 25:41
Speaker 7: show him around a little bit. And we start to
• 25:44
Speaker 7: make our way out to the main field where we
• 25:46
Speaker 7: host the press conference, and you know, I started to backpedal,
• 25:50
Speaker 7: and then there's kids line up in the fence that
• 25:53
Speaker 7: I means yeah, in the plaza and you're well dreaming
• 26:00
Speaker 7: at the top of their lungs. And I'm like, oh, no,
• 26:02
Speaker 7: like not me, it's not me. Uh but I appreciate it.
• 26:07
  Speaker 9: No, I'm kidding.
• 26:08
Speaker 2: Sure. Sure. They weren't yelling shill no, No.
• 26:11
Speaker 9: They were definitely saying well.
• 26:12
Speaker 7: And the worst part, I guess, if you want to
• 26:16
Speaker 7: say that, is when he officially came.
• 26:17
Speaker 2: Out, You're like, oh, that's not will one kid.
• 26:20
Speaker 9: Yelled at and I said, you don't know, you know what,
• 26:23
Speaker 9: Maybe it is. Maybe it is.
• 26:24
Speaker 7: But walking back in all the media back there looking
• 26:28
Speaker 7: at me like this this kid.
• 26:30
  Speaker 2: That's funny, Like you're a good story.
• 26:33
Speaker 3: Your foot injury away from being will Camp.
• 26:37
Speaker 2: I definitely was not.
• 26:40
Speaker 7: Definitely, that's definitely not all the time I do, I do,
• 26:45
  Speaker 7: but that.
• 26:45
Speaker 10: Is twenty minutes Chris. He told me how his career
• 26:48
Speaker 10: ended with a foot injury.
• 26:49
Speaker 14: You guys, don't every guy I want to play D
• 26:52
Speaker 14: one if I didn't hurt this.
• 26:54
Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you have one state walking.
• 26:59
Speaker 3: Outside zone, Like, what do you expeoutside?
• 27:02
  Speaker 2: Hard stuff? Left?
• 27:06
Speaker 3: What are you doing?
• 27:08
  Speaker 1: No?
• 27:09
Speaker 7: I've broken twice once in the spring, and then during
• 27:13
Speaker 7: practice broke it again.
• 27:15
Speaker 3: So you're trying to get you out in space for it.
• 27:17
Speaker 3: Come on, what could have been.
• 27:19
Speaker 9: Downhill blocking and that's it? Get me downhill vertical?
• 27:22
Speaker 3: Get down here, all right?
• 27:27
Speaker 2: Eight five five PATS five hundred is the hotline podcast
• 27:30
Speaker 2: at Patriots dot com. Is the email address. You can
• 27:33
Speaker 2: see where this is going anywhere you wanted to go.
• 27:36
Speaker 2: So yeah, uh so, why don't we just open it
• 27:40
Speaker 2: up and see what people have to say? And people
• 27:44
Speaker 2: are hanging up left and right. Danny is in Tampa.
• 27:47
  Speaker 2: What's up, Danny?
• 27:49
Speaker 15: How's it going? Guys?
• 27:50
Speaker 2: Okay, just good to hear you guys today.
• 27:54
  Speaker 8: Uh.
• 27:54
Speaker 15: I kind of sad that mill On there. But I
• 27:56
Speaker 15: see his his guests replacements.
• 27:58
  Speaker 5: It's pretty cool.
• 28:00
  Speaker 8: I got a bone to.
• 28:01
Speaker 15: Pick with Evans. So yesterday, Uh, Paul, you're on that,
• 28:05
Speaker 15: You're you're being safe. I'm not gonna pick on you today.
• 28:08
  Speaker 2: Thanks appreciate it.
• 28:09
Speaker 15: No problems, no, no problem, Evan. No, Evan, you had
• 28:14
Speaker 15: some good stuff. You and Alex had some good stuff.
• 28:16
Speaker 2: Yesterday we tried. Speaking of Alex, we found out that
• 28:18
Speaker 2: he wears pajamas. He revealed that on the radio.
• 28:22
Speaker 3: Why did you find that?
• 28:24
Speaker 2: He revealed it on the radio. He says on snow
• 28:28
Speaker 2: days he likes to sit in his pajamas and watch Yeah,
• 28:31
Speaker 2: he's got a talk last. Go ahead, Dan, I wanna
• 28:38
Speaker 2: make this really quick.
• 28:39
Speaker 15: So to your points Evan yesterday, and I want to
• 28:41
Speaker 15: cavey ot to Paul too on this one thing. Yeah,
• 28:45
Speaker 15: so I did hear this last week, but you guys
• 28:47
Speaker 15: were just talking about with the Barbore situation or not
• 28:50
Speaker 15: Barmber with the Max Crosby ESPN and Fox Sports with
• 28:56
Speaker 15: Colin Herb was saying just last week that they were
• 28:59
Speaker 15: saying that Patriots just send Barmore and to first And
• 29:03
Speaker 15: I was like no, I was like why, I like
• 29:06
Speaker 15: Barmore and the reason why they were spinning it.
• 29:08
Speaker 8: They said that there's.
• 29:10
Speaker 15: Been some you know, some unrest behind the scenes with
• 29:13
Speaker 15: Rabel and Barmore. So people are kind of like pushing
• 29:16
Speaker 15: that notion, Oh, they should ship Barmore out and send
• 29:19
  Speaker 15: two first. And I said no, I said, I don't
• 29:21
Speaker 15: think that's a good idea. I was like, why would
• 29:23
Speaker 15: you want to give up this year's next year's first.
• 29:26
Speaker 15: I mean, Barmore is good add to the death, I
• 29:28
Speaker 15: said that there's it's deep in the draft this year
• 29:31
Speaker 15: with the defensive lineman and wide receivers. I was like,
• 29:34
Speaker 15: we can explore other options. And then the other thing
• 29:38
Speaker 15: for for Evan, I think the Patriots to win this season,
• 29:43
Speaker 15: since we're going against Gauntlet, they need to do what
• 29:47
Speaker 15: the Rams did. Thirteen personnel, three tight ends, one running back,
• 29:51
Speaker 15: and one receiver. Stressed the defense out. Since a lot
• 29:54
Speaker 15: of defenses across the league are playing nickel and dime,
• 29:57
Speaker 15: that'll force though, So give you guys that.
• 30:01
  Speaker 2: Okay, thanks Danny.
• 30:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know where the bone was. But anyways,
• 30:04
Speaker 3: we were talking yesterday about tight end and I just
• 30:07
Speaker 3: had brought up the point that, you know, I think
• 30:10
Speaker 3: a lot of people are with Danny that they want
• 30:12
Speaker 3: them to be more multiple tight end heavy, even more
• 30:15
Speaker 3: so than they were this past year. But the big
• 30:19
Speaker 3: kind of caveat with that is is that you got
• 30:20
Speaker 3: to have tight ends that can block, because if you're
• 30:23
Speaker 3: just kind of going out there and putting finesse tight
• 30:26
Speaker 3: ends out there, like, you're not going to really get
• 30:28
Speaker 3: the response from the defense that you're looking for. So
• 30:30
Speaker 3: the Rams have, you know, two really good blockers at
• 30:34
Speaker 3: least at tight end, and so they go out there,
• 30:36
Speaker 3: they run that three tight end set and they the
• 30:39
Speaker 3: defenses have to match it in base because they can
• 30:42
Speaker 3: run the ball at smaller packages if they don't, And
• 30:45
Speaker 3: so they match it in base, and now you have
• 30:47
Speaker 3: matchups that you can hunt with the tight ends against
• 30:49
Speaker 3: linebackers and things like that. So that's what we were
• 30:52
Speaker 3: talking about. I'm all for that, but that's completely kind
• 30:56
Speaker 3: of changing up your entire room.
• 30:58
Speaker 2: But even if you have morees tight ends, if they're
• 31:01
Speaker 2: good receivers, don't you create mismatch problems?
• 31:04
  Speaker 3: I don't think so, because what's happening a lot now
• 31:07
Speaker 3: is like you have to run teams out of nickel, right,
• 31:10
Speaker 3: So everyone's playing five defensive backs at least on the field, right,
• 31:13
Speaker 3: And if you put tight ends out there, just inherently,
• 31:16
Speaker 3: tight ends are like slower receivers, right, Like, they're just
• 31:19
Speaker 3: not as dynamic as most wide receivers are. So what
• 31:23
Speaker 3: with the Patriots a lot last year and their two
• 31:25
Speaker 3: tight end sets was that they weren't able to effectively
• 31:28
Speaker 3: run the ball out of twelve personnel, So everybody was
• 31:31
Speaker 3: staying in nickel against them when they had two tight
• 31:33
Speaker 3: ends on the field, and so they just kind of
• 31:36
Speaker 3: figured out they were just better off playing three receivers
• 31:39
Speaker 3: because Matt Collins can kind of do the things that
• 31:41
Speaker 3: the tight ends can do in the blocking game. We're
• 31:44
Speaker 3: not really losing much in the run game with Matt
• 31:46
Speaker 3: Collins versus Austin Hooper, but we're gaining in the past game.
• 31:49
Speaker 3: So it's like you could do it either way. I
• 31:51
Speaker 3: just think that, you know, if they want to be
• 31:53
Speaker 3: like a tight end heavy offense, then you have to
• 31:56
Speaker 3: have at least one really good inline blocker at that position.
• 31:59
Speaker 3: I would saying right now, I think they kind of
• 32:01
  Speaker 3: have none.
• 32:01
Speaker 4: They have none, they'd be three short of being able
• 32:03
Speaker 4: to do what the Rams do right now. Yeah, the
• 32:06
Speaker 4: one name that people are talking about a lot, and
• 32:08
Speaker 4: I'm not necessarily against It is Kyle Pitts, who I
• 32:11
Speaker 4: don't love, but he is a productive, athletic tight end.
• 32:14
Speaker 4: But that's not going to give you what you know,
• 32:17
Speaker 4: what Danny is looking for in terms of that versatility.
• 32:21
Speaker 10: He's going to be treated like teams treat mac Collins.
• 32:25
Speaker 2: David writes, and he's a PhD. He says. I'm here
• 32:28
Speaker 2: in Florida getting ready for a Star Trek cruise leaving tomorrow.
• 32:33
Speaker 2: What I'm curious about is whether or not the plans
• 32:35
Speaker 2: for building the team trades for agency draft have changed
• 32:38
Speaker 2: since last summer given the success of this past summer,
• 32:40
Speaker 2: and if so, and if so, how? But I want
• 32:43
Speaker 2: to talk more about the Star Trek cruise, what's going on.
• 32:46
Speaker 2: Not shocked that that is going to be a boat
• 32:49
Speaker 2: full of nerds, Huh.
• 32:49
Speaker 3: I don't know anything a Star Trek outside people that
• 32:52
Speaker 3: like Star Trek over Star Wars is interesting take.
• 32:55
  Speaker 9: I don't like that.
• 32:56
Speaker 2: I think I think four, yeah, really.
• 33:00
Speaker 3: It's not that bad.
• 33:01
Speaker 11: Where's the cruise go?
• 33:03
  Speaker 2: How far?
• 33:03
  Speaker 9: How long?
• 33:05
Speaker 2: Yeah? But I can I think I think the more
• 33:10
Speaker 2: sciencey people like Star Trek.
• 33:13
Speaker 7: The Royal Caribbean Cruise, Port Carnival, Porto Plata, San Juan Coccaye.
• 33:18
Speaker 2: And like, what what do you do? You have to cosplay?
• 33:23
Speaker 2: You know, I tell you what.
• 33:24
Speaker 16: This year sold out and next year's is the waiting
• 33:27
  Speaker 16: list is happening?
• 33:28
  Speaker 2: Really?
• 33:29
Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's Shattner's on this cruise.
• 33:32
Speaker 2: That's the real deal cruise. It's the real deal. Okay,
• 33:36
Speaker 2: all right, all right.
• 33:38
Speaker 10: So I'm more interested in your take on the difference
• 33:41
Speaker 10: Starrek and Star Wars. Yeah, we're sending next year more
• 33:45
Speaker 10: more science I think.
• 33:48
Speaker 2: I think the more nerdy science people like tend to
• 33:53
Speaker 2: gravitate towards Star Trek than Star Wars.
• 33:55
Speaker 11: Interesting more scientifically accurate.
• 33:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, well I don't know about that either. I'm exactly
• 34:01
Speaker 2: warp speed and transporting people from planet to planet, you know.
• 34:06
Speaker 2: But you have actual physicists as guest speakers. Yeah, so
• 34:10
Speaker 2: that's what That's what I mean. It is more science y.
• 34:12
Speaker 9: They're not like, there's no real similarity.
• 34:16
Speaker 3: I mean they happen in space.
• 34:19
Speaker 2: Star Wars is more mythical and fantasy.
• 34:22
  Speaker 9: That's mythical.
• 34:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm kidding you. Ever you ever read Joseph Campbell,
• 34:27
Speaker 2: who's a Columbia pH d The Power of Myth. He
• 34:30
Speaker 2: uses a lot of Star Wars analogies in it.
• 34:32
  Speaker 9: I didn't know that.
• 34:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, well you should learn a little bit, you know
• 34:35
Speaker 2: before you before you mock before, Yeah, don't mock anyway.
• 34:45
Speaker 2: So but it's other questions interesting too. Do you think that, uh,
• 34:51
Speaker 2: the plans for building has changed since last summer? I
• 34:56
  Speaker 2: don't think.
• 34:57
Speaker 4: I don't think we're going to know the answer to that.
• 34:59
Speaker 4: They start get good, but I don't know, but they
• 35:01
Speaker 4: it might have changed. We're not going to really know
• 35:03
  Speaker 4: until we see.
• 35:05
Speaker 2: Well what do you think. I mean, we have a
• 35:06
Speaker 2: show to do, so what do you think?
• 35:08
Speaker 4: My guess is that it hasn't changed. They want to
• 35:11
Speaker 4: continue to build this roster, as Mike says, with the foundation.
• 35:15
Speaker 4: They feel like they have the foundation in place. Do
• 35:17
Speaker 4: you feel to you to add on to that?
• 35:18
Speaker 14: Do you feel like they'd be more willing now to
• 35:20
Speaker 14: make like some swings for win now guys than maybe
• 35:24
Speaker 14: they would have been there you.
• 35:25
Speaker 2: Go, so that's what we're running again. If they do.
• 35:27
Speaker 2: Thank you for welcome.
• 35:29
  Speaker 3: I gave you.
• 35:30
  Speaker 2: You asked me what I thought I said, I don't
• 35:32
Speaker 2: think think better. I don't think that will happen. That
• 35:35
Speaker 2: would be a change. Asked if I thought they would.
• 35:38
Speaker 2: She she proposed how a change might be maybe maybe
• 35:42
Speaker 2: now they're thinking more win now as opposed to like
• 35:46
Speaker 2: building that I'm going to ask the question.
• 35:48
  Speaker 3: I'm that's the question that I asked because I feel
• 35:53
  Speaker 3: like that.
• 35:53
Speaker 2: And missing the point as usual, Like.
• 35:55
Speaker 3: Last offseason they were in the business of like, let's
• 35:58
Speaker 3: just get NFL players on his team, right, Like, let's
• 36:01
Speaker 3: sign guys that killed quality NFL players that can be
• 36:06
Speaker 3: starters in this league, that are proven starters in this league.
• 36:10
Speaker 3: Where now I feel like it's like you can have
• 36:13
Speaker 3: a little fun, we can start going shop. I think
• 36:16
  Speaker 3: they can.
• 36:16
Speaker 10: I don't think they will for.
• 36:17
Speaker 3: The Designer Club exactly. Whatever that is. Yeah, she nailed it.
• 36:24
Speaker 9: You know what do you think we hold them back, Paul,
• 36:27
  Speaker 9: Like what?
• 36:27
Speaker 4: No, I think that they want to build the roster
• 36:29
Speaker 4: they want. I don't think they feel like they're there. Yeah,
• 36:32
Speaker 4: I don't think that they are. To steal an Andy hartphrase,
• 36:37
Speaker 4: they went to the super Bowl. They're not a super
• 36:39
Speaker 4: Bowl team yet. That's what I think Mike Rabel and
• 36:43
Speaker 4: Elliott Wolf and Ryan Cowden are thinking.
• 36:45
  Speaker 1: Right now.
• 36:47
Speaker 4: We still have a waye to go if we want
• 36:50
Speaker 4: to be, you know, no questions asked, super Bowl contender
• 36:53
  Speaker 4: every year, and.
• 36:54
Speaker 3: That's probably the smart way to look at it.
• 36:56
Speaker 4: I think that they'll probably stick to that. I completely
• 36:59
Speaker 4: that the question is a really good question. If they
• 37:02
Speaker 4: go out and trade for Max Crosby, then I would
• 37:05
Speaker 4: say the answer to the question is, yes, it's changed.
• 37:08
Speaker 4: I think Evan and Alex are correct. They might look
• 37:11
Speaker 4: at it as we are better positions now to make
• 37:15
Speaker 4: a splashy kind of a move than we would have thought.
• 37:17
Speaker 2: So Crosby a bigger splash than what Diggs was. Oh yeah, there's.
• 37:22
  Speaker 11: Just less digs.
• 37:23
Speaker 14: There's so much, so much certainty on digs when we
• 37:27
Speaker 14: signed them for cheap money.
• 37:28
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 37:29
Speaker 3: I just look at the guys like Morgan Moses, Garrett Bradberry,
• 37:33
Speaker 3: Robert Splane, even Carlton Davis to an extent, good signings
• 37:37
  Speaker 3: all of them.
• 37:38
Speaker 2: But those were do it again.
• 37:39
Speaker 3: But those were guys that they signed because they did
• 37:42
Speaker 3: not literally did not have starters at those positions going
• 37:46
Speaker 3: into the off season. They have most of that. Like
• 37:49
Speaker 3: if I put up there their twenty two guys on
• 37:52
Speaker 3: both sides of the ball, they're probably like at like
• 37:54
Speaker 3: twenty or twenty one, where you're like, yeah, you have
• 37:56
Speaker 3: starters at all these spots. I agree, So now you're
• 37:59
Speaker 3: just kind of adding to that. But to Paul's point,
• 38:02
Speaker 3: you know, if they still feel like they're like one
• 38:04
Speaker 3: good draft haul away from being in that true super
• 38:08
Speaker 3: Bowl contender status and trading all your picks is not
• 38:11
Speaker 3: going to get you.
• 38:12
Speaker 10: So to go back here, so.
• 38:15
Speaker 4: Let's just do all the guys that Evan just mentioned,
• 38:17
Speaker 4: you know, the Moses, Carlton Davis, you know, the How
• 38:23
Speaker 4: many more years are they getting to have those guys,
• 38:25
Speaker 4: Hunter Henry. I mean you might have them all on
• 38:28
Speaker 4: your roster in twenty six. My guess is you have
• 38:31
Speaker 4: a better chance to have none of them on your
• 38:32
Speaker 4: roster in twenty seven than having all of them, right,
• 38:35
Speaker 4: So that's why I think that they'll probably stick to
• 38:38
Speaker 4: the plan, continue to try to draft well and evaluate
• 38:42
Speaker 4: and develop. I think they did a really good job
• 38:44
Speaker 4: of that last year. But you have to continue to
• 38:47
Speaker 4: build both ways. Like that's the underrated part of all
• 38:51
Speaker 4: of this was every guy that Evan mentioned that gave
• 38:54
Speaker 4: them an NFL starter wasn't just an NFL starter. They
• 38:57
Speaker 4: were all good players for them last year and they
• 39:00
Speaker 4: all worked. You need to probably start thinking about Garrett Bradbury. Okay,
• 39:05
Speaker 4: so it was Jared Wilson.
• 39:06
  Speaker 2: That good.
• 39:07
Speaker 10: Okay, then we're good there.
• 39:08
Speaker 2: But what about who's replacing Carlton Davis?
• 39:12
Speaker 4: Yep, you know who's who's going to eventually replace Harold Landry?
• 39:16
Speaker 3: Isn't the hope that you know, because I think Bill
• 39:19
Speaker 3: was All was really good at this for a long
• 39:21
Speaker 3: time until he wasn't, which was like drafting guys. You know,
• 39:26
Speaker 3: if they all suddenly draft a corner in like the
• 39:28
Speaker 3: second or third round, I think everybody's gonna be like
• 39:30
Speaker 3: like a corner. But it's like, well, in a few years, yeah,
• 39:34
Speaker 3: in twenty seven, that player might be started its snate.
• 39:36
Speaker 3: So right for now, I don't think they're there yet
• 39:39
Speaker 3: in that first round pick. I think the first round
• 39:41
Speaker 3: pick needs to be somebody's gonna play right away play.
• 39:44
Speaker 3: But you know, after that, you know, tight end, corner, linebacker,
• 39:48
Speaker 3: Like we're starting to talk about replacing the guys that
• 39:51
Speaker 3: you know, right tackle that are currently on the team
• 39:54
Speaker 3: that are getting older.
• 39:55
Speaker 2: Richard and Louisiana writes, and in reference to Evan's point
• 39:58
Speaker 2: of putting a veteran guy next to Will Campbell. Can
• 40:01
Speaker 2: that be done by not bringing someone else in and
• 40:05
Speaker 2: by putting on when you on the left side and
• 40:07
Speaker 2: putting Jared Wilson on the right. Now you have two
• 40:09
Speaker 2: young players next to Vets on both sides.
• 40:12
Speaker 3: They tried putting on when left guard in twenty one,
• 40:16
Speaker 3: I want to say, and he got benched for Ted
• 40:19
Speaker 3: Carris did not go well.
• 40:20
Speaker 2: He's not one of those guys that can switch sides.
• 40:23
Speaker 3: No, Usually the left guard you want to be a
• 40:25
Speaker 3: little bit better pass protector and a little bit more
• 40:27
Speaker 3: athletic on that side. Like Joe Toney is literally the
• 40:30
Speaker 3: perfect left guard. Like that guy is exactly what you
• 40:33
Speaker 3: want at that position. So on when is his position's
• 40:37
Speaker 3: right guard? And I think that he's going to stick there? Fred?
• 40:39
Speaker 10: When did it all start going.
• 40:40
Speaker 2: Wrong when they franchised Joe Toney?
• 40:44
Speaker 3: They have a lot like Joe Toney played. Joe Tony
• 40:47
Speaker 3: played left tackle in college and then moved inside in
• 40:50
Speaker 3: the NFL. You know, athletic, can pass block and can
• 40:54
Speaker 3: move laterally, that type of thing.
• 40:57
Speaker 2: John and carlsbat says, in my opinion, Mike is still
• 41:00
Speaker 2: firmly on the hot seat. It's been rough ever since
• 41:03
Speaker 2: Duce joined the show. I really thought the curse might
• 41:05
Speaker 2: have been broken, But after losing the Super Bowl, it's
• 41:07
Speaker 2: clear that Mike, Mike Deuce Rousseau remains the common denominator.
• 41:12
Speaker 2: Let's keep Chris on the show and send Mike off
• 41:14
Speaker 2: to cover minor league hockey or something. Maybe then we
• 41:17
Speaker 2: can finally win a Super Bowl next year without him
• 41:19
  Speaker 2: dragging us down.
• 41:21
Speaker 10: Wow, I would agree, yeah, wow.
• 41:25
  Speaker 1: No.
• 41:25
Speaker 2: Lil Eric in New Jersey on the hot line, what's up?
• 41:29
  Speaker 15: Eric?
• 41:30
Speaker 5: Hey, how are we doing? Guys and Groves?
• 41:33
Speaker 17: I had a question kind of again, my biggest, my
• 41:35
Speaker 17: biggest concern going into this next year is just the
• 41:38
Speaker 17: identity of the offense of you know, I kind of
• 41:41
Speaker 17: I kind of you know with Drakes, you know, one
• 41:43
Speaker 17: of the ability to throw the ball down. I know
• 41:45
Speaker 17: we don't kind of have that inline blocking, but you know,
• 41:47
Speaker 17: looking back at that that Panthers you know, twenty fifteen,
• 41:51
Speaker 17: you know where they had that you know, that power
• 41:53
Speaker 17: run game and then they were able to get those
• 41:54
Speaker 17: deep throws over those deep crosses kind of you know
• 41:57
Speaker 17: where Drake's wheelhouse is. What is your takes on just
• 42:01
Speaker 17: the you know the identity of this offense given the
• 42:03
Speaker 17: personnel that we have and the potential that's out there.
• 42:06
Speaker 17: You know, I believe I'm a big proponent of you know,
• 42:08
Speaker 17: you know, if he hits the market, Alex Pearson is
• 42:11
Speaker 17: dropping it up. You know, the time to develop is
• 42:13
Speaker 17: I think we'll kind of pass that. I mean, we
• 42:15
Speaker 17: haven't had that ability quite some long time. But just
• 42:18
Speaker 17: kind of see what you guys, I think, because you know,
• 42:20
Speaker 17: what's the identity of offense is going to be moving
• 42:21
  Speaker 17: into next year?
• 42:22
Speaker 5: I take off the line. Thanks guys.
• 42:24
Speaker 2: Okay, that's a tough question to answer.
• 42:31
Speaker 3: I think you know, his deep ball ability and his
• 42:35
Speaker 3: mobility are is two best traits I would say, And
• 42:38
Speaker 3: so typically you think of that as if you're going
• 42:41
Speaker 3: to be an under center offense and you're probably moving
• 42:43
Speaker 3: the pocket a lot, you know that that would be ideal.
• 42:46
Speaker 3: But then you know, we get into the conversation of
• 42:48
Speaker 3: you know, running the run game changes that that takes
• 42:51
Speaker 3: the tight ends that we were talking about earlier in
• 42:53
Speaker 3: terms of the inline blocking. Uh, you know, they could
• 42:56
Speaker 3: kind of do both. I think, you know, if they
• 42:58
Speaker 3: wanted to be more gun heavy and spread the field
• 43:01
Speaker 3: more and bombs away, then they could probably do that
• 43:03
Speaker 3: as well. But if you do that, now, you really
• 43:05
Speaker 3: need to upgrade the receivers. You know, you have to have,
• 43:09
Speaker 3: you know, Bengals level type of receiver talent to be
• 43:12
Speaker 3: that gun heavy and that centric in terms of the
• 43:15
Speaker 3: outside passing game. So it depends on, you know, which
• 43:19
Speaker 3: way they want to go. Historically, you know, Mike Rabel
• 43:22
Speaker 3: and Josh McDaniels have featured under center pretty heavily in
• 43:26
Speaker 3: their offenses. The Patriots were top ten and under center
• 43:29
Speaker 3: eight last year, so I would assume that they're going
• 43:31
Speaker 3: to probably stick to that sort of thing. But you know,
• 43:34
Speaker 3: they need some upgrades in the blocking department for sure
• 43:37
  Speaker 3: to get there.
• 43:37
Speaker 4: I wouldn't be surprised to see them sort of shorten
• 43:42
Speaker 4: up the passing game a little.
• 43:43
Speaker 10: I mean, I think they need.
• 43:44
Speaker 4: To be prepared for teams to be better prepared for
• 43:47
Speaker 4: the deep ball, and I think we saw that as
• 43:49
Speaker 4: the season war on and certainly in the playoffs. So
• 43:52
Speaker 4: I think they're going to need to have a plan B.
• 43:54
Speaker 4: And I wouldn't be surprised if Josh and Drake spend
• 44:01
Speaker 4: a lot of this offseason saying, okay, this is you know,
• 44:03
Speaker 4: you got to start getting these underneath quick. You know,
• 44:07
Speaker 4: the ones that Fred always talks about, maybe Efton Chisholm.
• 44:10
Speaker 4: You know, he'll be you a guy a lot of
• 44:14
Speaker 4: a lot of quick, easy throws to move the chains,
• 44:17
Speaker 4: you know, the stuff that I don't think Drake necessarily loves.
• 44:20
Speaker 4: But I think he needs to get a little bit
• 44:22
Speaker 4: more accustomed to because I don't think you're going to
• 44:24
Speaker 4: go bombs away again next year.
• 44:27
Speaker 3: Not based off the way the defense has played them
• 44:28
Speaker 3: in the playoffs. I mean they saw more too high
• 44:31
Speaker 3: and more cloud than any team in the league in
• 44:33
Speaker 3: the place, especially in the postseason. And you know, team's
• 44:36
Speaker 3: just playing those two safeties over the top and playing
• 44:39
Speaker 3: over the top of Booty and making sure he can't
• 44:41
Speaker 3: throw the deep ball. You know, you got to get
• 44:43
Speaker 3: quicker on the inside. Yeah, you got on top of.
• 44:46
Speaker 4: Booty and everybody exactly, and everybody talked about, well, let
• 44:50
Speaker 4: you know, and you were playing better teams. Well, you're
• 44:53
Speaker 4: going to be playing better teams next year, like as
• 44:55
Speaker 4: a rule in the regular season. So it's going to
• 44:58
Speaker 4: be a little bit more difficult I think to.
• 45:00
Speaker 3: Get changes in the playoffs too, like because teams are
• 45:03
Speaker 3: really game planning you versus in the regular season. You
• 45:05
Speaker 3: kind of are running your stuff. You're running your system
• 45:08
Speaker 3: a lot of the time because you don't want to
• 45:10
Speaker 3: get too complicated with it. Maybe you have some special
• 45:13
Speaker 3: game plan wrinkles on third down or something like that.
• 45:16
Speaker 3: Once you get into the playoffs, it's a whole different ballgame. Now.
• 45:19
Speaker 3: It's like we are hard play game planning this offense,
• 45:22
Speaker 3: and especially the Super Bowl when you have two weeks, yeah.
• 45:25
  Speaker 9: To do it.
• 45:25
Speaker 4: And maybe Henderson is somewhere involved more in the passing game,
• 45:30
Speaker 4: more as a direct you know, as opposed to just
• 45:33
Speaker 4: kind of, you know, an outlet, maybe someone that they're
• 45:36
Speaker 4: looking to exploit matchups with.
• 45:38
Speaker 2: Nick and the Pocono's rights. And looks like I ruffled
• 45:40
Speaker 2: some feathers with my email last week and took some
• 45:43
Speaker 2: shots which were fun to hear. But I guess I
• 45:45
Speaker 2: have to respond the comments made about me are correct.
• 45:48
Speaker 2: I'm probably as dumb as a box of whatever country
• 45:51
Speaker 2: thing Eldred said. At one point in my life, I
• 45:53
Speaker 2: was a twenty one year old marine kicking down doors,
• 45:56
Speaker 2: dodging bullets in a rack. That's not a job, thank you,
• 45:59
Speaker 2: smart kids to use these days. I fight terrorism by
• 46:02
Speaker 2: protecting the nation's critical infrastructure, which mostly involves security assessments,
• 46:07
Speaker 2: teaching classes, and writing reports. That probably qualifies me as
• 46:10
Speaker 2: a keyboard warrior. To Big E, You're actually my favorite
• 46:14
Speaker 2: caller to listen to, and I enjoy hearing your takes.
• 46:17
Speaker 2: But I had to give you a hard time because
• 46:19
Speaker 2: I like you. It's how we show love in the Northeast. However,
• 46:22
Speaker 2: it was pretty funny that you called in thirty minutes
• 46:25
Speaker 2: after my email to pitch a six to five receiver
• 46:27
Speaker 2: who runs fast. It was funny anyway. Since it's the
• 46:30
Speaker 2: off season, I wanted to bring back an old argument
• 46:33
Speaker 2: for you guys to debate. If a defense rushes two
• 46:36
Speaker 2: interior alignment, drops two edges into coverage, and rushes a
• 46:41
Speaker 2: safety and a linebacker in their place, would you consider
• 46:44
Speaker 2: that a blitz? If so, would you define a blitz
• 46:47
Speaker 2: as any instance where the defender rushes from a non
• 46:50
Speaker 2: traditional rush position Rushing is not their primary responsibility. Now
• 46:54
Speaker 2: we already had that debate, right, ding blitz debate? Yeah,
• 46:59
Speaker 2: I was taught by coaches in the NFL that a
• 47:03
Speaker 2: blitz is when you send more than they can block.
• 47:05
Speaker 3: Well, if that's how we do it, then that's why
• 47:10
Speaker 3: Seattle won the Super Bowl. Seattle wasn't sending more than
• 47:13
Speaker 3: they could block. They were just sending them from weird places. Okay,
• 47:16
Speaker 3: and the Patriots didn't have they're blocking lined up correctly.
• 47:20
Speaker 3: I think that's the difference in what he described right
• 47:22
Speaker 3: there is what you know is basically nowadays they call
• 47:26
Speaker 3: those creepers, where like you have guys that you think
• 47:29
Speaker 3: are going to be rushing on the line of scrimmage,
• 47:31
Speaker 3: they're dropping and the guys from the back end are
• 47:34
Speaker 3: the ones that are actually blitzing. And you know the
• 47:36
Speaker 3: way that the protections are set up, that that's how
• 47:40
Speaker 3: you beat the guys rushes. Sure, yeah, all right, it's.
• 47:43
Speaker 10: Nice to see you two coming together.
• 47:45
Speaker 2: Well, we'll take a break. More calls and emails, and

Speaker 19: I don't know if seventy five would fit on them now, Paul,
• 50:07
Speaker 19: mister Vince will Fork. Vince, you look tremendous.
• 50:09
  Speaker 1: Thank you think.
• 50:10
Speaker 20: I think I think aside forty eight might do. But
• 50:13
Speaker 20: I'm you know, like I said, a lot of people
• 50:15
Speaker 20: and I think a lot of reasons that that people
• 50:17
Speaker 20: fell in love with me is they realize how of
• 50:21
Speaker 20: a normal person I am. I can relate to them
• 50:23
  Speaker 20: because I had I didn't have anybody sharing. I mean,
• 50:27
Speaker 20: you know, going shopping for me. You know, I cut
• 50:30
Speaker 20: my own rass. You know I had I bought a
• 50:32
Speaker 20: plow truck. So I was a man's man.
• 50:35
Speaker 1: You know. If I had to go grocery shop, I
• 50:37
  Speaker 1: go grocery shop.
• 50:38
Speaker 20: If me and my family want to go eat, we
• 50:39
Speaker 20: go eat whatever they have available.
• 50:41
Speaker 1: We see down and eat so a lot of stuff.
• 50:44
Speaker 20: I think people kind of equate that, you know, I'm
• 50:47
Speaker 20: just as normalus as everyone else, even though I have
• 50:50
Speaker 20: you know, the background of you know, Colo and playing
• 50:53
Speaker 20: college and Patriot. You know, go to Celtis game, I
• 50:57
Speaker 20: see it in the crowd. So you know, even now
• 50:59
Speaker 20: when I go to games, now, you know I see
• 51:00
  Speaker 20: in the stands, I don't I don't call for a box.
• 51:03
Speaker 20: I don't call for nothing special for me, you know.
• 51:06
Speaker 20: So I try to be as normal as possible what
• 51:08
Speaker 20: I think. Over the over time, people grew to love
• 51:12
Speaker 20: that about me. You know that it's any day in Boston,
• 51:16
Speaker 20: in when I was here, you can walk up to
• 51:18
Speaker 20: me and catch me anywhere with that normal person.
• 51:20
Speaker 21: Be because this area respects and they embrace the regular
• 51:25
Speaker 21: human beings. They see the work getting double and triple
• 51:28
Speaker 21: team and everything like that, they realize you're grabbing your
• 51:30
Speaker 21: brown bag yep, hardhead on and going out to work.
• 51:33
Speaker 1: And that's how I am man even to this day
• 51:35
Speaker 1: in Houston, I'm the same way. I don't hide.
• 51:37
Speaker 20: I don't try to call and say can you block
• 51:39
Speaker 20: this off up? Like no, I go, I'm going win
• 51:42
Speaker 20: with everybody else. We we all sit and have a
• 51:45
Speaker 20: good time. We laugh, We talked football, we talk life.
• 51:48
Speaker 20: And I think that's one thing that draws people in
• 51:51
Speaker 20: with me because I just showed them how normal I
• 51:54
Speaker 20: can be. Like I know where where I come from.
• 51:58
Speaker 20: I know you know what what it's like to grind.
• 52:01
Speaker 20: And I'm a humble person. So I'm blessed to be
• 52:05
Speaker 20: in a position that I'm in. I'm blessed to have
• 52:08
Speaker 20: the career I had to walk away from the game
• 52:10
Speaker 20: with one major injury, like that's unheard of playing the
• 52:13
Speaker 20: position I played, and so I'm truly blessing.
• 52:16
  Speaker 1: I'm lucky.
• 52:17
Speaker 20: So I look at That's how I look at life.
• 52:19
Speaker 20: You know, you treat people the way you want to
• 52:21
Speaker 20: be treated. You treat what people with respect, you could
• 52:23
Speaker 20: demand it. So I've played like that. I lived my
• 52:26
Speaker 20: life like that, and that's why I get along with
• 52:28
Speaker 20: a lot of people.
• 52:29
Speaker 4: So when you go back to the beginning here two
• 52:33
Speaker 4: thousand and four, get you talked about, you're a Kane,
• 52:36
Speaker 4: You're a Hurricane. So you get drafted in the first round, Yes, sir, here,
• 52:40
Speaker 4: what was draft night like for you? Did you expect
• 52:43
Speaker 4: to be available with twenty one?
• 52:47
Speaker 20: I was pissed, you know, and I remember, you know,
• 52:50
Speaker 20: my father died of diabetes. So I wanted to do
• 52:53
Speaker 20: something to give back two diabetes. So I linked up
• 52:57
Speaker 20: with this it's organized down there called DRII I'd be
• 53:02
Speaker 20: the research interest too, And we threw this like this
• 53:05
Speaker 20: little get together at a place called Game Game Stop,
• 53:08
Speaker 20: no game shop, game works, I'm sorry, game works in Miami.
• 53:11
Speaker 20: And it was just me and my family and a
• 53:13
Speaker 20: couple of friends. And it was probably like thirty of us.
• 53:17
Speaker 20: And we raised like six thousand dollars that day. And
• 53:19
Speaker 20: I was sitting there and I knew we had six
• 53:21
Speaker 20: first rounders. I knew we had that. I'll say, well,
• 53:23
Speaker 20: I know I'm not going to be the last one,
• 53:25
Speaker 20: you know, because I've met with you know, Houston came
• 53:29
Speaker 20: down and met with all of us. Houston was picking
• 53:32
Speaker 20: at ten, then Atlanta had eight. Atlanta was talking to
• 53:37
Speaker 20: me every day. So Atlanta was at eight, and then
• 53:40
Speaker 20: I went and visit Chicago, and I think Chicago had
• 53:43
Speaker 20: thirteen or fourteen. I went to Buffalo in Minnesota, right,
• 53:48
Speaker 20: So I'm like, I know I'm going to be off
• 53:49
Speaker 20: the board before you know, I'm not going to be
• 53:53
  Speaker 20: last hurricane.
• 53:53
  Speaker 1: Right.
• 53:54
Speaker 20: So Atlanta comes, I'm like, okay, here's our first boom.
• 53:58
Speaker 20: Atlanta comes, they picked cornerback. I'm like, okay, Tim Houston
• 54:02
Speaker 20: got one, Okay, Houston. Houston comes, they pick a cornerback
• 54:07
Speaker 20: and I'm like, what the hell now, mind you. At
• 54:11
Speaker 20: the time, Sean Talla had left and Kela Winzo had left,
• 54:15
Speaker 20: so we had Jonathan Vilma left, DJ Williams, Vernon Carrey
• 54:19
Speaker 20: and myself. So fourteen come thirteen. Fourteen comes Chicago. They
• 54:22
Speaker 20: picked Tommy Harris first, Dtackle take it. So I was like, okay,
• 54:26
Speaker 20: they went Detackle, but they went that route.
• 54:28
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 54:29
Speaker 20: So now I'm sitting I'm like, I have no clue
• 54:31
Speaker 20: where I'm going to go. You know, Buffalo come up.
• 54:35
Speaker 20: I forget who Buffalo picked, and then Jets picked Jonathan Villma,
• 54:39
Speaker 20: so he the third goe. Denver picked DJ Whittam. He's
• 54:43
Speaker 20: the fourth one. So here we go with Miami. So
• 54:46
Speaker 20: I'm like, okay, at least I can stay home. Even
• 54:49
  Speaker 20: though I grew up, I didn't grow up. I hated
• 54:50
Speaker 20: the Dolphins. I said, okay, at least I can stay home.
• 54:53
Speaker 20: Dolphins come Vernon Carrey, So I said, you got to
• 54:57
  Speaker 20: be fane kidding.
• 55:00
Speaker 22: Is it amazing that the eighteen years later then, and
• 55:04
Speaker 22: I'm amazed that almost all of them can do that.
• 55:06
Speaker 22: What they're around, sit there and rattle them off, because
• 55:09
Speaker 22: because you don't forget, you don't forget.
• 55:12
Speaker 20: So here comes New England, right boom. They picked me.
• 55:15
Speaker 20: So I said, okay, I'm still pissed. First Round'm pissed.
• 55:18
Speaker 20: And I remember my defensive coordinator at the time, Randon Shannon,
• 55:21
  Speaker 20: he coming.
• 55:22
Speaker 1: He came to me. He said, listen, no, he called me.
• 55:24
Speaker 20: He said, man, listen, I know you pissed off and
• 55:27
Speaker 20: you upset, but you're gonna be the first one to
• 55:28
  Speaker 20: get a ring watch. I said, man, I don't want
• 55:31
Speaker 20: to hear that. I'm pissed off. And then DJ Williams
• 55:33
Speaker 20: came and then all other guys they came. They was happy,
• 55:36
Speaker 20: you know, and I was still I was in I
• 55:38
Speaker 20: was pissed off because I'm so competitive. I'm like, how
• 55:41
Speaker 20: the hell I'm a six hurricane pick like that don't
• 55:44
Speaker 20: make no sense. So I finally let it go, and
• 55:47
Speaker 20: I throughout my career, I said, well, I'm gonna show
• 55:49
Speaker 20: you I'm the best one of these hurricanes that got
• 55:50
Speaker 20: trapped that year. That was the inside of that was
• 55:54
Speaker 20: burning and driving me. And sure enough my first year
• 55:58
Speaker 20: Super Bowl, and I remember, but when I wanted, I
• 56:01
Speaker 20: called my defensive coordinator, Randon Shant, and I said, listen, coach,
• 56:05
Speaker 20: you told me I was gonna be the first one
• 56:06
Speaker 20: to win one, and you were right. And I kind
• 56:09
Speaker 20: of let it go then. So now I sit back
• 56:12
Speaker 20: with all those guys and I say, yeah, y'all went
• 56:14
Speaker 20: before me, but I had the better career and I
• 56:17
Speaker 20: played with the best team that you could possibly play with.
• 56:20
Speaker 20: So I'm okay, Well I got drafted, you know. So
• 56:23
Speaker 20: it's always an inside joke, but a great story. I'll
• 56:26
Speaker 20: never forget it. You know that that was one of
• 56:28
Speaker 20: the things that one of the multiple things that drove me.
• 56:30
Speaker 1: To be the best I could be.
• 56:32
Speaker 2: I had some talent with you on that defensive line too.
• 56:35
  Speaker 1: Huh.
• 56:35
Speaker 2: No, shortage your first round picks on that line.
• 56:37
Speaker 1: Now, I'm thinking it was three years.
• 56:40
Speaker 20: We had eighteen or nineteen first rounders University of Mimi
• 56:44
Speaker 20: in a three year span, and with our class being
• 56:48
Speaker 20: the top one with six in the first round, I
• 56:50
Speaker 20: think we tied somebody. And at that time I really
• 56:54
Speaker 20: didn't know what that meant. I mean, I'd be like, man,
• 56:57
Speaker 20: this is what we do. We Hurricane, we go to fail.
• 57:00
Speaker 20: We may have good careers, but you look at it now,
• 57:03
Speaker 20: it's like, you know, six in the first round haven't happened.
• 57:06
Speaker 20: You know, the longevity that you know, Hurricanes we typically
• 57:09
Speaker 20: have and the production. You know, so if you go
• 57:12
Speaker 20: and look at you know, all the great Hurricanes that
• 57:15
Speaker 20: played and where they went and how they played in
• 57:18
Speaker 20: the NFL their careers, they had amazing careers.
• 57:21
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 57:21
Speaker 20: So now I'm able to sit back and be like, yes,
• 57:24
Speaker 20: I'm part of that that fraternity down at the University
• 57:27
Speaker 20: of Miami. Not only did we did it in college,
• 57:30
Speaker 20: we also did it at the highest level, you know,
• 57:32
Speaker 20: and being a Patriot Hall of Fame, and that just
• 57:35
Speaker 20: speaks volume of not only my play, but from everywhere
• 57:40
Speaker 20: that I that I come from, from my upbringing, you know,
• 57:43
Speaker 20: from my coaches in high school and in college, and
• 57:46
Speaker 20: a lot of a lot of credit go to Bill
• 57:48
Speaker 20: Belichick because Bill and Kraft believed it in me. Took
• 57:52
Speaker 20: a guy from a thirty four from a four to
• 57:54
Speaker 20: three penetrating defense, brung them in the system and had
• 57:58
Speaker 20: to teach me the system, you know, And I just
• 58:00
Speaker 20: remember those days just trying to learn it. Everything I
• 58:03
Speaker 20: was doing was too fast, So it was like everything
• 58:05
Speaker 20: was opposite of college.
• 58:07
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 58:08
Speaker 20: I got to stay front side in college NFL, when
• 58:11
Speaker 20: we stay in backside. I was fast. I had to
• 58:13
Speaker 20: be fast in college quick. In college I had to
• 58:15
Speaker 20: slowed down and in pros So everything I was trained
• 58:19
Speaker 20: and learned to do as a high school and a
• 58:21
Speaker 20: college player, I had to retrain who I was to
• 58:26
Speaker 20: be a football player in this type of defense.
• 58:31
Speaker 2: And now great moments in history, you know, I just
• 58:36
Speaker 2: wish after the first person asked how the guy's doing
• 58:39
Speaker 2: and he says, yeah, we can he could leave it
• 58:41
Speaker 2: at that, right, we can rule on that. That would
• 58:43
Speaker 2: chop down. We've established he's doing good, he's doing good good,
• 58:47
Speaker 2: let's just get to the question.
• 58:49
  Speaker 4: I don't know if that's like a nervous tech for
• 58:50
Speaker 4: some people like you just you have to ask someone.
• 58:53
Speaker 23: It's an ego thing. They want they want to be
• 58:56
Speaker 23: able to say that. That guy said how am I doing?
• 58:58
Speaker 23: And I told him how I was doing.
• 58:59
Speaker 2: I just want to go into a long thing of
• 59:01
Speaker 2: like how you doing?
• 59:03
  Speaker 9: I know him.
• 59:03
Speaker 2: I talked to him to I know he knows me.
• 59:06
Speaker 2: We're in these troubled times. Oh exactly, how yeah, these
• 59:10
Speaker 2: trouble times. Actually remember that time we were in the
• 59:12
Speaker 2: seven eleven and I was in the seven eleven. That
• 59:15
Speaker 2: was awsome to me and I, yeah, we'll give me
• 59:17
Speaker 2: a little recks on that. Yeah, I remember that.
• 59:20
Speaker 23: Yeah, you know, I see a lot of people in
• 59:22
Speaker 23: the seven eleven and you know, say hello to them all,
• 59:26
  Speaker 23: I'm a nice guy.
• 59:28
Speaker 6: That's another great moment from.
• 59:30
Speaker 10: The Moment's not the same when I'm not involved in them.
• 59:36
Speaker 2: I never noticed that.
• 59:37
Speaker 4: Yeah, when I'm not saying something colossally stupid that came
• 59:39
Speaker 4: back and bait me like four years later.
• 59:42
Speaker 3: Just people that are just not very entertaining. And we're
• 59:45
Speaker 3: in that clip and then you're oh.
• 59:47
Speaker 4: Wows fired Due was in the clip there, Brod was
• 59:50
  Speaker 4: in the clip.
• 59:52
Speaker 10: So in the just to let everybody know they're running
• 59:55
  Speaker 10: our break.
• 59:56
Speaker 4: Evan absolutely eviscerated Fred to the point where Fred had.
• 1:00:00
Speaker 10: A storm away and leave. Yeah, I think you'll come back.
• 1:00:03
Speaker 4: But he's pouting now because because Evan smacked him around
• 1:00:07
Speaker 4: about a Celtics be misguided, Celtics take and evidently you
• 1:00:13
Speaker 4: want her lunch to take part of.
• 1:00:15
Speaker 11: The lunch break is so short. It is so short.
• 1:00:19
  Speaker 11: I'm a slow eater.
• 1:00:19
Speaker 3: You want to drive a wedge between We're not driving
• 1:00:23
Speaker 3: any wedges. They want you so badly want to.
• 1:00:27
Speaker 10: You come back to take your You're beaten like a man.
• 1:00:29
Speaker 2: Now what are we talking about the same thing we
• 1:00:33
Speaker 2: were just talking about as to why you left the show.
• 1:00:38
Speaker 2: I'm having some work done at the house.
• 1:00:41
Speaker 11: Oh yeah, you hades with that on Tuesday.
• 1:00:44
  Speaker 2: Huh.
• 1:00:44
Speaker 10: I thought we might get an update on that in
• 1:00:46
  Speaker 10: the show.
• 1:00:47
  Speaker 2: Well, I don't want to mentioned companies. I wouldn't wouldn't
• 1:00:51
Speaker 2: want you to do the names contractor Yeah, yeah, no,
• 1:00:54
Speaker 2: I'm having you know, you know, waterproofing work done in
• 1:00:57
Speaker 2: the basement. And so to months ago, I got sold
• 1:01:01
Speaker 2: a deal and you know, all the elements of the
• 1:01:03
Speaker 2: deal and all this, and then Tuesday the people who
• 1:01:07
Speaker 2: are actually doing the work show of them. Then we
• 1:01:09
Speaker 2: can't do that. Like, I don't know why they said
• 1:01:11
Speaker 2: we were going to do this. We can't do it.
• 1:01:12
Speaker 2: We can't do that. I didn't know there was so
• 1:01:15
Speaker 2: then so then they get on the phone with the
• 1:01:17
Speaker 2: guy who's and they're screaming at each other and yeah,
• 1:01:21
Speaker 2: so I mean it all got worked out at the end.
• 1:01:24
Speaker 2: But then even just now I got a call from
• 1:01:27
Speaker 2: their home office saying, Okay, they'll be back the final
• 1:01:30
Speaker 2: day on Friday, they'll be you know, eight thirty. Okay,
• 1:01:33
Speaker 2: he just called me. We're done. I'm like, they called
• 1:01:36
Speaker 2: me this morning, said you're going to be back tomorrow.
• 1:01:37
Speaker 2: He goes, no, I'm not going to be back because
• 1:01:39
Speaker 2: you just mailed the check. Like okay, Like they are
• 1:01:45
Speaker 2: not on the same page at this company. And I
• 1:01:47
Speaker 2: don't want to mention what I'm to do. I don't know.
• 1:01:50
Speaker 2: When I get hot, i'll see it.
• 1:01:52
Speaker 11: You know, I don't know construction in Massachusetts, you.
• 1:01:56
  Speaker 2: Know, homeowner Roulette.
• 1:01:57
Speaker 10: Yeah, never know what's going to happen. This is why
• 1:01:59
  Speaker 10: I even't never wants.
• 1:01:59
Speaker 3: To They sell two things really good. This crew in houses.
• 1:02:05
Speaker 3: It really just sounds like a really fun thing to
• 1:02:08
  Speaker 3: do both.
• 1:02:10
Speaker 2: Let me tell you if they don't. If they don't
• 1:02:12
Speaker 2: do what they said they're going to do, then I
• 1:02:14
Speaker 2: will be on this show saying the name of the company.
• 1:02:16
Speaker 2: Yeah them check either. So if you're listening, beware you
• 1:02:23
Speaker 2: know who I am.
• 1:02:25
Speaker 10: Here we go, there, we go.
• 1:02:28
Speaker 2: I mean super that's right. It's not inexpensive to waterproof
• 1:02:35
Speaker 2: your basement, especially in the house like mine. It's old,
• 1:02:40
Speaker 2: so big, that's old.
• 1:02:42
Speaker 10: You just don't have your.
• 1:02:44
Speaker 11: Ocean and it's so large.
• 1:02:45
Speaker 4: You just don't have your people that live on the
• 1:02:47
Speaker 4: on the property take care of that kind of stuff.
• 1:02:49
Speaker 11: Help you have a service driveway?
• 1:02:54
Speaker 2: No, you had to think about it though. Well I
• 1:02:58
Speaker 2: had to think of what she's saying, because I was
• 1:03:00
Speaker 2: thinking of building a second driveway, but I couldn't because
• 1:03:03
Speaker 2: it was too expensive. Yeah, so just throw some.
• 1:03:07
Speaker 11: Seashells on your grasp.
• 1:03:09
Speaker 4: Do a joint GoFundMe for all of us. Yeah, we
• 1:03:13
Speaker 4: got to get us out of this mess.
• 1:03:15
Speaker 3: We need we need to help, We need to help.
• 1:03:16
  Speaker 11: I know I had some.
• 1:03:21
Speaker 2: Oh you had pipes freeze? Oh that sucks. Well did
• 1:03:24
Speaker 2: they burst or they just freeze? That's okay, because then
• 1:03:27
Speaker 2: they eventually come off. It's when they burst then you
• 1:03:29
  Speaker 2: get prop.
• 1:03:30
Speaker 14: It's like, it's like put a switch to make it
• 1:03:32
Speaker 14: easier to deal with in the future.
• 1:03:34
Speaker 9: But yeah, my hot water heater caught on fire the
• 1:03:36
  Speaker 9: other day.
• 1:03:37
  Speaker 2: Fire.
• 1:03:38
Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, the wire. The wire itself caught on fire
• 1:03:42
Speaker 7: and the board put it out on its own. And
• 1:03:46
Speaker 7: we woke up the next morning and we were like, oh,
• 1:03:48
Speaker 7: we know how water?
• 1:03:49
  Speaker 9: What the heck?
• 1:03:50
Speaker 7: And the plumber was like, yeah, no, that caught on
• 1:03:53
Speaker 7: fire last night and it.
• 1:03:54
Speaker 9: Put itself out. But good thing you guys caught it.
• 1:03:56
Speaker 9: And we were like cool, wow, and I was conversation.
• 1:04:00
Speaker 11: But yeah, not good by house seven.
• 1:04:05
  Speaker 3: Really wow.
• 1:04:07
Speaker 2: If you can buy new construction, then you're good for
• 1:04:10
Speaker 2: twenty thirty years, are you?
• 1:04:11
  Speaker 3: Though?
• 1:04:11
Speaker 14: Like they build those like sandpaper now the walls are
• 1:04:14
Speaker 14: so thin and crappy as.
• 1:04:16
Speaker 2: You're just getting different.
• 1:04:17
Speaker 11: They don't build homes like they used to do. They
• 1:04:18
  Speaker 11: really don't.
• 1:04:20
Speaker 3: Quality is price is going this way, and the quality is.
• 1:04:23
Speaker 10: Going, but the price of your rent is going this
• 1:04:26
  Speaker 10: way too.
• 1:04:26
  Speaker 2: Right.
• 1:04:27
Speaker 3: My rent has stagnated.
• 1:04:31
Speaker 2: Soon though, But and now you've got two people paying
• 1:04:34
Speaker 2: for it, right, I do, right.
• 1:04:36
Speaker 3: That's true. It helps you think.
• 1:04:40
  Speaker 4: I just I didn't pay rent for a long period
• 1:04:43
Speaker 4: of time. That's nice, but I hated every minute like
• 1:04:46
  Speaker 4: a squatter.
• 1:04:48
Speaker 2: How did you get away with not paying rent? I'm
• 1:04:50
Speaker 2: a talent, So I lived at home?
• 1:04:52
Speaker 14: Okay, with me till you're get married?
• 1:04:56
  Speaker 10: My mother?
• 1:04:57
Speaker 2: Did you have that where I'd still be living?
• 1:05:00
Speaker 9: What did you move out, Paul?
• 1:05:01
Speaker 10: I'd rather not say.
• 1:05:03
  Speaker 9: That's fine.
• 1:05:04
Speaker 2: I'm only just moved out.
• 1:05:07
Speaker 4: I was the day before twenty seven, twenty six, twenty seven.
• 1:05:11
Speaker 2: I was pretty old, so I quit University of Tampa
• 1:05:15
  Speaker 2: and I was between. I didn't know, so I moved
• 1:05:18
Speaker 2: back home for like a month. My father walked in
• 1:05:21
Speaker 2: one morning. I'm in bed. He's like, what are you
• 1:05:24
Speaker 2: doing here? You can either go back to school and
• 1:05:25
Speaker 2: get a job, but you're not staying here. That was it.
• 1:05:28
Speaker 10: My parents were the exact opposite.
• 1:05:30
Speaker 4: They say, save your money, pay your student loans, save
• 1:05:34
Speaker 4: as much money as you can.
• 1:05:35
  Speaker 2: You're gonna work. It's not a vacation. You're gonna work.
• 1:05:38
Speaker 10: But I mean, I had a real job.
• 1:05:40
Speaker 4: Didn't make any money, but I had my job at
• 1:05:42
Speaker 4: the Herald, and they said stay as long as you can.
• 1:05:46
Speaker 11: My mom was but the bad thing was like I
• 1:05:48
  Speaker 11: was like no.
• 1:05:49
Speaker 14: And then COVID happened, and I had all those years
• 1:05:52
Speaker 14: of independence, and then I moved back home as like
• 1:05:55
Speaker 14: a twenty six years different.
• 1:05:57
  Speaker 4: And I also didn't spend like a sitcom, was a
• 1:06:00
Speaker 4: sick spend a lot of time living at school.
• 1:06:03
Speaker 11: In my house full of siblings.
• 1:06:05
Speaker 3: That's exactly what happened to me.
• 1:06:07
  Speaker 2: Would be hard.
• 1:06:08
Speaker 3: I lived on my own from when I went to
• 1:06:10
Speaker 3: college to three years out of college, and then when
• 1:06:13
Speaker 3: I went and took the job at Clinics to come
• 1:06:15
Speaker 3: cover the Patriots, I didn't make any money.
• 1:06:18
Speaker 2: So I doesn't have housing for you. All the no, no,
• 1:06:21
Speaker 2: no budget lived together in like.
• 1:06:22
Speaker 14: A one house like Sam Bankman, Freed and FTX.
• 1:06:27
Speaker 11: They were all living in the same house.
• 1:06:29
Speaker 3: Okay, smart, but I was like twenty four twenty five.
• 1:06:33
Speaker 3: But then I had to move back in with my parents,
• 1:06:35
Speaker 3: which was for COVID not ideal. No, I No, I
• 1:06:40
Speaker 3: was not. I'm old chrism not No, that COVID happened.
• 1:06:43
Speaker 3: I was with Jess already, but yeah, they the move
• 1:06:47
Speaker 3: back in with your parents after you're on your own
• 1:06:49
Speaker 3: for like five or six years is not as a
• 1:06:52
Speaker 3: tough hill to see.
• 1:06:53
Speaker 2: Either side is having any fun? No?
• 1:06:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, no, all right, my mother loved it. But that's
• 1:06:58
  Speaker 3: because she's.
• 1:07:01
Speaker 2: For your mother, for your father, all right. A five
• 1:07:05
Speaker 2: five past five hundred is the hot Line podcast at
• 1:07:09
Speaker 2: Patriots dot Com is the email at Dresser just had
• 1:07:12
  Speaker 2: a meatball sub.
• 1:07:14
Speaker 10: He made it a grinder.
• 1:07:15
Speaker 2: Yeah. People don't know what that means, but I do.
• 1:07:21
Speaker 2: Sam's in Connecticut. What's up, Sam?
• 1:07:26
Speaker 24: I got two questions for you. In apologies, I'm just
• 1:07:29
Speaker 24: coming off of cold.
• 1:07:30
Speaker 5: To my voice, little.
• 1:07:31
Speaker 10: Horse, we wouldn't know.
• 1:07:34
Speaker 24: The first thing I wanted to ask you guys about
• 1:07:37
Speaker 24: I think Evan said throughout the season that defenses weren't
• 1:07:41
Speaker 24: really like respecting may or the receivers or pass catchers.
• 1:07:46
Speaker 24: I was wondering if there was a certain time, like
• 1:07:48
Speaker 24: towards the end of the season, or if it was
• 1:07:50
Speaker 24: in the playoffs where teams started to really respect the
• 1:07:53
Speaker 24: past game, and if that was kind of a reason
• 1:07:56
Speaker 24: for the offense kind of you know, going down in
• 1:07:59
Speaker 24: their fish and seeing scoring and then and then the
• 1:08:03
Speaker 24: other thing I wanted to.
• 1:08:04
  Speaker 5: Bring up is.
• 1:08:06
Speaker 24: I have a lot of appreciation for Josh McDaniels. I'm
• 1:08:08
Speaker 24: really happy we signed him. He deserves his flowers. But
• 1:08:13
Speaker 24: one play that I thought throughout the season and in
• 1:08:16
Speaker 24: the Super Bowl as well. Is running Henderson up the middle.
• 1:08:21
Speaker 24: I feel like every time they try this that it
• 1:08:23
Speaker 24: never works. But I'm not sure if there's any like
• 1:08:26
Speaker 24: rhyme or reason for it, but it always makes me
• 1:08:29
Speaker 24: scratch my head. But I'd love to hear you guys
• 1:08:31
Speaker 24: kind of discuss maybe why they why they do that,
• 1:08:35
Speaker 24: because to me, he seems like someone running backer should
• 1:08:38
Speaker 24: go to the outside and open space or maybe you know,
• 1:08:41
Speaker 24: catch the ball, but not up the middle like Stevenson.
• 1:08:44
Speaker 3: So that's all predictability.
• 1:08:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, well, but you know, listening to Josh
• 1:08:49
Speaker 2: and how he describes, like how he sets things up,
• 1:08:52
Speaker 2: like to me, every time I see Henderson run the middle,
• 1:08:55
Speaker 2: in my mind, I was like, all right, they're set.
• 1:08:57
Speaker 2: They're doing that to set something up for later, and
• 1:09:00
Speaker 2: then they never get to later.
• 1:09:02
Speaker 3: You know, I think they did, but I think that's
• 1:09:05
Speaker 3: you bun him outside the entire time, because then teams
• 1:09:08
Speaker 3: are gonna start loading up for him to run outside,
• 1:09:11
Speaker 3: so you have to have balance to it. We run
• 1:09:13
Speaker 3: pass balance, but there's also just like where you're attacking
• 1:09:16
Speaker 3: the field in terms of balance, and if he's always
• 1:09:19
Speaker 3: on the field for certain runs, then teams are smart,
• 1:09:23
Speaker 3: They're going to figure that out and they're gonna be
• 1:09:25
Speaker 3: ready for it. So the one or two runs he
• 1:09:28
Speaker 3: gets up the middle, is there an account So when
• 1:09:30
Speaker 3: they do toss it out to him, the defense has
• 1:09:32
Speaker 3: to at least respect.
• 1:09:33
Speaker 4: Like in the Super Bowl, I think the first time
• 1:09:35
Speaker 4: you got the ball, Henderson, it was up the middle,
• 1:09:37
Speaker 4: and then I think they made a draw that was
• 1:09:39
Speaker 4: kind of you know, obviously designed to but that's kind
• 1:09:41
Speaker 4: of a trick run play and they snuffed it out.
• 1:09:44
Speaker 4: But then start the second half, they they sent him wide. Now,
• 1:09:48
Speaker 4: there were no big, huge plays like they were in
• 1:09:50
Speaker 4: the middle of the season there, right, But even.
• 1:09:53
  Speaker 2: Those plays bounces.
• 1:09:55
Speaker 7: But I do think that Tampa was a bounce and
• 1:09:58
Speaker 7: Buffalo was a bounce with the drake was the lead blocker.
• 1:10:00
  Speaker 7: I believe Buffalo's a bounce.
• 1:10:02
Speaker 4: Yeah, Well the Buffalo was wide, right, and he bounced
• 1:10:06
Speaker 4: it wide. The fact the Tampa one was up, But
• 1:10:11
Speaker 4: I'm talking about in the Super Bowl they did try
• 1:10:13
Speaker 4: to do some of that. Now, Seattle's defense was just
• 1:10:16
Speaker 4: really good. Yeah, and they didn't allow him to go
• 1:10:19
Speaker 4: sixty yards like you know Tampa did.
• 1:10:21
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:10:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, I mentioned Saratoga says, just like the emailer on Tuesday,
• 1:10:26
Speaker 2: I do not like the word confidence, but for totally
• 1:10:29
Speaker 2: different reasons. Every time someone on the show says confidence,
• 1:10:32
Speaker 2: the first thing that comes to mind is and confidence
• 1:10:35
Speaker 2: is key while on the road from all of Fred's
• 1:10:37
Speaker 2: bridgestone reads over the past few years.
• 1:10:39
Speaker 3: Okay, I think that as well.
• 1:10:42
  Speaker 2: Really yeah, confidence?
• 1:10:44
  Speaker 3: Okay?
• 1:10:46
Speaker 2: Uh, Eldred is on the phone to defend his honor.
• 1:10:51
  Speaker 2: What's up, Eldrey?
• 1:10:55
  Speaker 8: All right, lady?
• 1:10:56
Speaker 11: You all right doing great? How are you?
• 1:10:59
  Speaker 2: Yes?
• 1:11:00
Speaker 8: Okay, No, I ain't gonna depend my hunter. But uh,
• 1:11:03
Speaker 8: I like uh, Nick, but you're like Nick, I makes
• 1:11:06
Speaker 8: military too, bro, and you're twenty one.
• 1:11:10
Speaker 5: Let me see I was.
• 1:11:11
Speaker 8: I was defending way for what you even thought about.
• 1:11:15
Speaker 2: Here we go military and military crime. I like it. Yeah,
• 1:11:19
Speaker 2: did you use a marine? Aldred? He's got your bat.
• 1:11:21
Speaker 8: But altogether, like I said, no harm, no file, but
• 1:11:25
Speaker 8: a question. I keep seeing the trade of promotion. But
• 1:11:30
Speaker 8: Paul said he don't want to do it though. Would
• 1:11:32
Speaker 8: you give a two and a three for Brown a J. Brown?
• 1:11:38
Speaker 2: But according to two three for a J. Brown?
• 1:11:41
  Speaker 9: Three and.
• 1:11:44
  Speaker 3: I might I might a first round pick for a J.
• 1:11:46
Speaker 2: Brown two and of three I would I'd be interested.
• 1:11:49
Speaker 3: In stamp in that. Yeah, where do I sign?
• 1:11:53
Speaker 8: Yeah, they got Cleveland a head Cleveland. What they want
• 1:11:56
Speaker 8: to give it the first and the third, and I
• 1:11:58
  Speaker 8: think they numbers.
• 1:11:59
Speaker 3: But so he went for first and the third when
• 1:12:02
Speaker 3: he went from the Titans to the Eagles, and that
• 1:12:05
Speaker 3: was like three or four years ago. Now second and
• 1:12:08
  Speaker 3: a fourth.
• 1:12:09
Speaker 4: Right, So I've read something today about a trade proposal.
• 1:12:13
Speaker 2: They had four different proposals and it was.
• 1:12:18
Speaker 4: I think it was a pick swap in the second
• 1:12:21
Speaker 4: and third round two something like that. There was a
• 1:12:23
Speaker 4: bunch of picks going back and forth.
• 1:12:25
Speaker 3: There's a little bit of cap gymnastics with aj Brown
• 1:12:31
Speaker 3: that they'll have to work through because if they trade
• 1:12:33
Speaker 3: him before June first, his dead cap money for the Eagles,
• 1:12:37
Speaker 3: I think is thirty million something like that. It's it's
• 1:12:41
Speaker 3: a lot about Yeah, So if it could be a
• 1:12:45
Speaker 3: post you one trade, which obviously changes everything because now
• 1:12:47
Speaker 3: it's twenty twenty seven draft picks and not twenty twenty
• 1:12:50
Speaker 3: sixth draft picks, so that that would be significant difference.
• 1:12:53
Speaker 3: So we'll see if the Eagles are just you know,
• 1:12:56
Speaker 3: they like Laurie tends to just pay it.
• 1:12:58
Speaker 4: So well that but the ESPN dot com story, they
• 1:13:03
Speaker 4: had like four different guys gave I think like Jeremy
• 1:13:07
Speaker 4: Farrell gave one. I think your guy Solak he gave one,
• 1:13:12
Speaker 4: And there was two other guys. They all had AJ
• 1:13:14
Speaker 4: Brown proposals, and one of them was with the Patriots.
• 1:13:18
Speaker 10: I think it was Seth.
• 1:13:19
Speaker 4: Walder maybe, which was the one that aren't the one
• 1:13:22
Speaker 4: for the Patriots. But the summation of the story was
• 1:13:28
Speaker 4: he'll probably end up just staying put because Philadelphia is
• 1:13:30
Speaker 4: not generally in the business of trading away their good players,
• 1:13:34
Speaker 4: and they haven't really they've been able to work through
• 1:13:36
Speaker 4: these things, And that was kind of the takeaway was
• 1:13:39
Speaker 4: they'll probably figure out a way. Roseman has been down
• 1:13:43
Speaker 4: this road before, and he finds a way to hold
• 1:13:45
  Speaker 4: onto these guys.
• 1:13:45
Speaker 3: That would be my one worry about trading with the
• 1:13:48
Speaker 3: Eagles is that you get into a negotiation with Howie Roseman. Plus,
• 1:13:53
Speaker 3: like if Howie Roseman's giving up on AJ Brown, that
• 1:13:56
Speaker 3: would worry me, Like, why does the best GM in
• 1:13:59
Speaker 3: football not want this player anymore?
• 1:14:01
  Speaker 9: Now?
• 1:14:02
Speaker 3: Sometimes it's just as simple as they're headed for a divorce,
• 1:14:05
Speaker 3: Like the relationship is fried and inevitable. Yeah, and that's it.
• 1:14:09
Speaker 14: But it feels like it's just been so public, and
• 1:14:11
Speaker 14: it's like I get that they've had their issues, but
• 1:14:14
Speaker 14: the Eagles were still a pretty good team this year.
• 1:14:16
Speaker 9: And it's just it's every year.
• 1:14:18
Speaker 7: It's it's the same conversation every year with AJ Brown
• 1:14:21
Speaker 7: And I mean, he'll there'll be rumors that pop up.
• 1:14:24
Speaker 7: I al he doesn't feel feel right, he doesn't feel
• 1:14:27
Speaker 7: respected by Jalen Harris, blah blah blah blah blah, and
• 1:14:30
  Speaker 7: it's it's just a constant cycle. And it's like, is
• 1:14:33
Speaker 7: it actually gonna happen? Is it not gonna? Like you,
• 1:14:36
Speaker 7: we don't know, you know what I mean?
• 1:14:37
Speaker 2: So what comes first? You're crazy or you're a wide receiver.
• 1:14:42
Speaker 3: Well, I think what Aj brown The problem is is
• 1:14:44
Speaker 3: that that he's been in such a run heavy offense.
• 1:14:47
Speaker 2: You become crazy after you're a wide receiver. Oh you're crazy,
• 1:14:50
Speaker 2: and then you become a wide receiver.
• 1:14:51
Speaker 3: He I don't. I think his issue right now is volume. Yeah,
• 1:14:54
Speaker 3: because like they they're a run heavy offense, like it's Saquan,
• 1:14:58
Speaker 3: it's Jalen hurts as An her like that's their the
• 1:15:01
Speaker 3: basis of their offense. And uh, you know DeVante Smith
• 1:15:05
Speaker 3: is there, Dallas Goddards, there's not.
• 1:15:07
Speaker 11: A lot of it's all ego.
• 1:15:09
Speaker 3: There's one ball and they all they got three or
• 1:15:12
Speaker 3: four guys that all want it all the time, and
• 1:15:14
Speaker 3: and so it's it's hard to guide of spread it
• 1:15:16
Speaker 3: around enough. And I think that winning is cool, but
• 1:15:20
Speaker 3: you know, he also wants his and I don't think
• 1:15:23
  Speaker 3: he's getting it.
• 1:15:24
Speaker 14: And how does Rabel look at a guy like that?
• 1:15:26
Speaker 14: Because look at our receiving corps this year?
• 1:15:29
  Speaker 3: Yeah, don't.
• 1:15:30
  Speaker 11: He's a J.
• 1:15:31
Speaker 14: Brown was on Edelman's podcast today and said he didn't
• 1:15:33
Speaker 14: really like Rabel at first, a lot of the veterans,
• 1:15:38
Speaker 14: but it was just like he was a rookie and
• 1:15:40
Speaker 14: he was really hard on him.
• 1:15:42
Speaker 11: But I haven't listened to the full.
• 1:15:45
Speaker 2: If you have a thin skin, can be tough. Yeah,
• 1:15:49
Speaker 2: y and Swansea uh has a little Thursday trivia. Who
• 1:15:57
Speaker 2: was the only player to have a rushing touchdown against
• 1:15:59
Speaker 2: the Paces in a Super Bowl and to also have
• 1:16:02
Speaker 2: played for the Patriotsgarrett, that's true? No? Oh, yes he
• 1:16:08
Speaker 2: Why does he have Lamar Blunt? I was gonna say,
• 1:16:11
Speaker 2: you have the answer. No, I know, but he's got
• 1:16:12
Speaker 2: the wrong first name. Come on, so then now I
• 1:16:16
Speaker 2: question all of these.
• 1:16:17
Speaker 11: Lamar Hunt had a baby with Lagarrett Blunt, who is.
• 1:16:21
Speaker 2: The only player to have a receiving touchdown against the
• 1:16:24
Speaker 2: Patriots in a Super Bowl and to also have played
• 1:16:27
  Speaker 2: for the Patriots.
• 1:16:29
Speaker 4: Receiving touchdown against the Patriots in the Super Nelson incorrect?
• 1:16:35
Speaker 10: Who also played for the Patriots?
• 1:16:39
Speaker 2: You want to hint? What you need a hint? Yeah,
• 1:16:44
Speaker 2: he's currently on the team.
• 1:16:47
Speaker 10: Is on the Patriots?
• 1:16:48
Speaker 3: Mac Collins, Nope, No, those are my two guesses.
• 1:16:52
Speaker 2: Boston he's receiver. Yeah, this guy seating wrong first name,
• 1:17:01
  Speaker 2: wrong position?
• 1:17:03
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I played.
• 1:17:05
Speaker 2: I liked the question. Okay, he received the ball? How
• 1:17:08
Speaker 2: was this one going to be wrong? Which Patriot played
• 1:17:11
Speaker 2: college football at the same college that his father and
• 1:17:14
Speaker 2: both his grandfathers did. Both his grandfathers maternal and paternal.
• 1:17:22
Speaker 2: That I have no idea.
• 1:17:23
  Speaker 9: Which Patriots player?
• 1:17:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, played college football at the same college as
• 1:17:27
Speaker 2: father and his grandfather's played this that's called legacy. Ben Brown.
• 1:17:32
Speaker 2: They all played for Mississippi.
• 1:17:34
Speaker 9: Yeah, his story came up a little bit during Super
• 1:17:36
  Speaker 9: Bowl Week.
• 1:17:37
Speaker 2: I feel like, who are the last five players to
• 1:17:41
Speaker 2: lead the NFL in receiving yards for a season? Who
• 1:17:45
Speaker 2: played for the Patriots at some point during their career. Diggs,
• 1:17:49
  Speaker 2: that's one.
• 1:17:50
Speaker 3: Rands, No, he did not do it. Never left lead.
• 1:18:00
Speaker 2: Five players to lead the NFL and receiving yards for
• 1:18:02
Speaker 2: a season who played for the Patriots at some point
• 1:18:05
  Speaker 2: Josh Gordon two.
• 1:18:07
  Speaker 1: Good.
• 1:18:08
  Speaker 2: That's a good one.
• 1:18:09
Speaker 3: Yeah, I should have got that one.
• 1:18:13
Speaker 2: It's funny because other than Diggs, because the jury's not
• 1:18:15
Speaker 2: out on him, all of them were kind of like
• 1:18:18
Speaker 2: weird on while they were on the team.
• 1:18:20
Speaker 4: Brandon Lloyd that's three, Antonio Brown four, Wes Welker, Nope,
• 1:18:27
  Speaker 4: he wasn't weird.
• 1:18:28
  Speaker 10: Brandon Cooks, No.
• 1:18:29
Speaker 3: But he's kind of weird.
• 1:18:30
Speaker 2: But didn't he he never led the league?
• 1:18:32
  Speaker 3: And I thought, I.
• 1:18:35
Speaker 2: Chad Johnson, good question, and then he has one with
• 1:18:44
Speaker 2: no answer. During the Super Bowl era, only twice as
• 1:18:47
Speaker 2: a team's passing yards leader and receiving yards leader had
• 1:18:50
Speaker 2: the same last name. Who are these two pairs? And
• 1:18:54
Speaker 2: he's got no answer for it?
• 1:18:55
  Speaker 3: So Pilot, I don't know.
• 1:18:58
Speaker 2: So Johnson, baby Brad Johnson. But he wasn't a passing leader.
• 1:19:04
  Speaker 1: I can't imagine.
• 1:19:08
Speaker 2: I don't know passing leaders got nothing. That's a tough one.
• 1:19:14
Speaker 11: Yeah, what big name quarterback has a really power the last.
• 1:19:19
Speaker 2: Name Noel no Marinos.
• 1:19:22
Speaker 10: I was thinking of like Alex Smith, but I can't
• 1:19:24
  Speaker 10: think of it.
• 1:19:24
Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, so you're gonna have to email back
• 1:19:27
Speaker 2: and give us the answer.
• 1:19:28
Speaker 10: That wasn't fair, all right, So I have that story
• 1:19:32
Speaker 10: that I was talking about from ESPN.
• 1:19:34
Speaker 4: This is the proposal that Seth Walder had be the
• 1:19:37
Speaker 4: twenty twenty sixth first round pick, twenty twenty sixth third
• 1:19:40
Speaker 4: round pick, twenty twenty six sixth round pick, Patriots would
• 1:19:43
Speaker 4: get a J. Brown in a twenty six second round pick.
• 1:19:47
Speaker 3: Why did it have to make these so complicated?
• 1:19:48
  Speaker 4: So basically it's a first and a sixth and a
• 1:19:51
Speaker 4: pick swap from the third to the second.
• 1:19:53
Speaker 10: So you go up like forty spots in this to
• 1:19:55
  Speaker 10: the second round.
• 1:19:56
Speaker 2: Okay, done deal, let's go.
• 1:19:58
Speaker 3: This is so Seth Walder is their big analytics guy,
• 1:20:00
Speaker 3: so he definitely just put this into like his analytics
• 1:20:03
Speaker 3: computer and was like, spit out what what?
• 1:20:06
Speaker 2: I don't know why you say that with such a statement,
• 1:20:08
  Speaker 2: And it was.
• 1:20:09
Speaker 1: Like, what you do.
• 1:20:10
Speaker 3: We're gonna pick swap and then we're going to send
• 1:20:12
Speaker 3: a sixth. Then we're gonna send this pick like just
• 1:20:14
Speaker 3: can we just make it simple?
• 1:20:16
  Speaker 2: It's pretty simple.
• 1:20:17
Speaker 4: I mean pick, we got pick swaps there, we got
• 1:20:20
Speaker 4: this and it's a first, a third, and the sixth
• 1:20:24
Speaker 4: for Brown in a second.
• 1:20:26
  Speaker 2: That's that's the trade.
• 1:20:27
Speaker 3: So now that's not that far off for the trade
• 1:20:29
Speaker 3: that he when they he went from the Titans to
• 1:20:31
  Speaker 3: the Eagles.
• 1:20:32
Speaker 10: Like your boy Solac has Baltimore.
• 1:20:35
Speaker 4: Eagles, we get a twenty seven second round pick, a
• 1:20:39
Speaker 4: twenty seven to fourth round which is also a conditional
• 1:20:42
Speaker 4: third rounder, and Rashad Bateman for a J Brown.
• 1:20:45
  Speaker 1: Okay?
• 1:20:46
Speaker 4: And then the Bills offer from Dan Graziano a twenty
• 1:20:49
Speaker 4: six first round pick. Straight up, these are real offers
• 1:20:53
Speaker 4: or no, these are full hypothetical trade offers. And Cleveland's
• 1:20:56
Speaker 4: is Jeremy Fowler a twenty six first round.
• 1:20:58
Speaker 2: What's the Patriots offer? Is that the first one?
• 1:21:04
  Speaker 10: You frustrate?
• 1:21:06
  Speaker 2: I didn't know that was specific to us. I don't
• 1:21:09
Speaker 2: know if it was. Okay, that was the Patriots? All right? Okay?
• 1:21:12
Speaker 4: Six first round pick, third round pick, sixth round pick.
• 1:21:15
Speaker 4: Patriots would get Brown.
• 1:21:16
Speaker 2: In a second. Russell's in Florida with free agency right
• 1:21:22
Speaker 2: around the corner, do you think Vrabel has made this
• 1:21:25
Speaker 2: team a desirable place to play. Yes, yes, And do
• 1:21:27
Speaker 2: you think they're going to be aggressive like last year
• 1:21:30
Speaker 2: or more conservative with the checkbook? Do you think we
• 1:21:33
Speaker 2: finally became one of those teams that makes a big
• 1:21:35
Speaker 2: trade for top tier player this offseason.
• 1:21:42
Speaker 3: Anyone's going to be more calculated.
• 1:21:46
Speaker 4: Than last year, to be more in the middle of
• 1:21:48
Speaker 4: I don't think it'll be aggressive with the checkbook like I.
• 1:21:51
Speaker 3: Think last year was more like we were talking about earlier,
• 1:21:54
Speaker 3: they just bought a lot of different players, where I
• 1:21:57
Speaker 3: think this will be like maybe one or two splash
• 1:22:01
Speaker 3: might be strong, but there's one or two guys that
• 1:22:03
Speaker 3: come in that you're like kind of hoping that's a
• 1:22:05
Speaker 3: good player. You know that's good. That guy's gonna be
• 1:22:08
  Speaker 3: a big time contributor. Yeah, But I don't think you're
• 1:22:10
Speaker 3: gonna get the volume of free agents that they had
• 1:22:13
  Speaker 3: last year.
• 1:22:13
Speaker 10: They spent a lot of money.
• 1:22:16
Speaker 7: I would say it's gonna be more like a controlled
• 1:22:18
Speaker 7: free agency as far as like you're you're reaching out
• 1:22:22
Speaker 7: for the guys that you're going for. I think it's
• 1:22:25
Speaker 7: gonna be sort of looking at your roster more and
• 1:22:28
Speaker 7: like like Kevin said, like you looked at the roster
• 1:22:30
Speaker 7: last year, and you knew you needed to fill a
• 1:22:32
Speaker 7: bunch of holes with starters like that was that was clear.
• 1:22:35
Speaker 7: Now you have those starters, and now it's okay, where
• 1:22:38
Speaker 7: else can I plug a couple of pieces?
• 1:22:41
Speaker 9: And I think that's kind of it's gonna be more.
• 1:22:43
Speaker 7: They're obviously thinking with everything that they're doing, but I
• 1:22:45
Speaker 7: think it's gonna be more conversation and more kind of
• 1:22:49
Speaker 7: going a little bit deeper into why they're going.
• 1:22:51
  Speaker 9: For that player.
• 1:22:52
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that you're gonna have some of those
• 1:22:57
Speaker 3: diamond and the rough type signings that actually they hit
• 1:22:59
Speaker 3: on a lot of them, like Tonga for example, Like
• 1:23:01
Speaker 3: those types of players, and then you might have like
• 1:23:04
Speaker 3: one or two big names that everybody recognizes that are
• 1:23:08
Speaker 3: more star players. Maybe only one, but I think you'll
• 1:23:12
Speaker 3: get one or two.
• 1:23:13
  Speaker 10: That's what I'm hoping for.
• 1:23:14
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm skeptical. Cool Kieren in Chicago says, hey, Evan,
• 1:23:19
Speaker 2: and oh this was for Catch twenty two. Okay, just
• 1:23:23
Speaker 2: sending it now, Wow, just came in.
• 1:23:27
Speaker 3: Oh maybe he's just listening now.
• 1:23:29
Speaker 2: I want to read it anyway, first time emailer, But
• 1:23:34
Speaker 2: you talk about wide receivers running four point Five's got
• 1:23:37
Speaker 2: me thinking and I didn't want to lose the thought
• 1:23:39
Speaker 2: in that conversation you talked about how speed is flashy,
• 1:23:43
Speaker 2: but running a four to four isn't everything because there
• 1:23:47
Speaker 2: is also a lot of technique you need to be
• 1:23:49
Speaker 2: to be have to be a good wide receiver. This
• 1:23:51
Speaker 2: felt like a very similar conversation about Will Campbell in
• 1:23:54
Speaker 2: his arm length. What are the sexy measurements for other
• 1:23:57
Speaker 2: positions that can be a red herring when it comes
• 1:24:00
  Speaker 2: to production.
• 1:24:02
Speaker 3: I'd say the arm Well, the whole thing that we
• 1:24:05
Speaker 3: were talking about with wide receivers was like, if you
• 1:24:08
Speaker 3: just look at the two best receivers in football right now,
• 1:24:10
Speaker 3: I think most people would agree or Puka and JSN
• 1:24:13
Speaker 3: and neither one of those guys are burners, Like neither
• 1:24:15
Speaker 3: one of them are, you know, sub four four you know,
• 1:24:19
Speaker 3: take the top off the defense kind of guys. I
• 1:24:22
Speaker 3: think that, you know, we are just sort of learning that.
• 1:24:24
Speaker 3: You know, if you look at the law, you know,
• 1:24:26
Speaker 3: the averages and things like that, and then you marry
• 1:24:28
Speaker 3: that to production in the NFL, as long as the
• 1:24:31
Speaker 3: receiver is in that like four five range, they're fine.
• 1:24:36
  Speaker 2: I totally agree.
• 1:24:37
Speaker 3: Now if you start getting into like four to six
• 1:24:40
Speaker 3: plus four five five plus.
• 1:24:42
Speaker 2: Now you're in the short arm category.
• 1:24:44
Speaker 3: We're in the short arm category. Yeah, but in terms
• 1:24:48
Speaker 3: of do you need that top end speed right.
• 1:24:51
Speaker 4: No, you don't have to be the very fastest guy.
• 1:24:54
Speaker 4: But there are sort of requirements. I don't think they're
• 1:24:57
Speaker 4: red herrings. There's a reason why Will Campbell will be
• 1:25:01
Speaker 4: an outlier if he turns out to be an All
• 1:25:04
Speaker 4: pro left tackle hit with his measurements.
• 1:25:06
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he meant red flags rather than red herring.
• 1:25:09
  Speaker 24: No.
• 1:25:09
Speaker 4: I think he's saying it's not really a thing. Oh okay,
• 1:25:12
Speaker 4: I think that's the way I read that email. Well,
• 1:25:14
Speaker 4: you guys were talking about speed. I would totally agree
• 1:25:17
Speaker 4: with what Alex and Evan were talking about.
• 1:25:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't have to be the four to two guys,
• 1:25:21
  Speaker 2: Jerry Rice wasn't.
• 1:25:22
Speaker 4: No, there's a lot of really good receivers that are fast.
• 1:25:26
Speaker 4: They're not burners per se, but you can't be slow.
• 1:25:30
Speaker 4: There's a difference, and that's what I think is the difference.
• 1:25:33
Speaker 4: When you're talking about the arm length you, I mean,
• 1:25:37
Speaker 4: there are always going to be exceptions. You know, A
• 1:25:40
Speaker 4: Kwon Bolden was really athletic when he came into the league,
• 1:25:44
Speaker 4: but he turned into be He turned out to be
• 1:25:47
Speaker 4: like a great player for a lot of years and
• 1:25:49
Speaker 4: couldn't run anymore. He was just so good at being
• 1:25:52
Speaker 4: able to carve out space and he was productive for
• 1:25:56
Speaker 4: one hundred years with Baltimore.
• 1:25:58
Speaker 10: At the end of his career, he couldn't run anymore.
• 1:26:01
Speaker 10: They're not that many guys like that.
• 1:26:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, no, they're not, uh, because you're talking about the
• 1:26:07
Speaker 3: combine and you know, getting ready for the Combine. And
• 1:26:10
Speaker 3: I just think that nowadays to the in game tracking
• 1:26:14
Speaker 3: of play speed, you know how fast guys are moving
• 1:26:17
Speaker 3: with pads on during games. They have so much of
• 1:26:20
Speaker 3: that data now all these teams do. A lot of
• 1:26:23
Speaker 3: teams are putting less and less emincis on what's going
• 1:26:26
Speaker 3: on in Indianapolis next week.
• 1:26:27
Speaker 4: And to your point of like at the combine, like
• 1:26:31
Speaker 4: with these guys run at the combine, if you come
• 1:26:34
Speaker 4: into the league running a four to five, that's like
• 1:26:38
Speaker 4: kind of about you know, you don't want to be
• 1:26:40
Speaker 4: much less than that because three years in you ain't
• 1:26:43
Speaker 4: running four to five anymore. Once you start getting beat
• 1:26:46
Speaker 4: up a little bit and the wear and tear that comes.
• 1:26:49
Speaker 4: Fred will know this guy. I don't know if you'll
• 1:26:51
Speaker 4: remember Mevan Vincent Brisbee. Oh yeah, from the nineties. It
• 1:26:54
Speaker 4: was a really productive receiver. He came into the league
• 1:26:57
Speaker 4: is a little bit slow, but he was really good
• 1:27:00
Speaker 4: for a little while, and it didn't last very long
• 1:27:03
Speaker 4: because when you go from four to five to four seven,
• 1:27:06
Speaker 4: all of a sudden, you're irrelevant. You go from four
• 1:27:09
Speaker 4: four to four five, four six, you can still get by.
• 1:27:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, we were talking about Denzel Boston from Washington, who
• 1:27:17
Speaker 3: is one of the top receivers in the draft and
• 1:27:19
Speaker 3: first round caliber player, and he's not considered to be
• 1:27:23
Speaker 3: a burner. And somebody had asked us, like, what's a
• 1:27:25
Speaker 3: number that he could run next week that would make
• 1:27:28
Speaker 3: you feel comfortable with his speed, and I said, like
• 1:27:30
Speaker 3: low four five's, So that's how he got into discussion.
• 1:27:33
Speaker 3: And that's right around where like Ted McMillan was last year,
• 1:27:37
Speaker 3: Mecca Buca, you know, all those types of guys, and
• 1:27:40
Speaker 3: they all played just fine. You know, their play speed
• 1:27:42
Speaker 3: is more than enough at this level. So I think
• 1:27:45
Speaker 3: that that's really been adjusted now. No more. Al Davis.
• 1:27:48
Speaker 3: You know, we're just gonna draft Darius Hayward Bay because
• 1:27:51
  Speaker 3: he ran a.
• 1:27:52
Speaker 10: Fourth with with McMillan and Pooka that you mentioned earlier.
• 1:27:58
Speaker 4: They also have great place some exceptional traits that aren't
• 1:28:02
Speaker 4: related to speed, like their size, and you know they're
• 1:28:05
Speaker 4: contested catch high point ability like that kind of stuff.
• 1:28:09
Speaker 4: I mean, they have some other traits that I would
• 1:28:12
Speaker 4: say were probably high end for the position.
• 1:28:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, Brian has the answer to his trivia question. Good thing.
• 1:28:19
Speaker 2: The two pairs are Zach Wilson and Owen Wilson twenty
• 1:28:25
Speaker 2: three Jaed Wilson, Owen Wilson. That's what Garrett Wilson.
• 1:28:28
Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, this guy is Williams.
• 1:28:31
  Speaker 1: Ye.
• 1:28:32
Speaker 3: I thought I was is Luke there?
• 1:28:34
Speaker 2: And then he has and then he has Brad Johnson
• 1:28:37
  Speaker 2: and Keishan Johns.
• 1:28:38
Speaker 10: So it was Brad Johnson. Good Fred, not that one.
• 1:28:40
Speaker 10: I'm going to give you credit.
• 1:28:41
Speaker 4: I didn't get the other receiver, but I'm going to
• 1:28:43
Speaker 4: give the credit anyway because i'mamous.
• 1:28:45
Speaker 2: That was Owen Wilson.
• 1:28:48
Speaker 11: Wilson in the NFL.
• 1:28:49
Speaker 3: Wedding Rash is a great movie.
• 1:28:51
Speaker 2: Wedding Crashers. I it's one on one.
• 1:28:53
Speaker 10: You gotta you gotta stop and.
• 1:28:54
Speaker 2: Watch it every time.
• 1:28:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, hot route, I understand.
• 1:28:58
Speaker 2: I think it started off hot tail off at the end.
• 1:29:01
Speaker 3: That's probably fair. I feel like it was the end.
• 1:29:05
Speaker 3: They could have wrapped it up faster. There's like two
• 1:29:07
Speaker 3: different endings. I was like, this whole second ending could
• 1:29:10
Speaker 3: have just been like Lord of the Rings, a.
• 1:29:15
  Speaker 11: Very different movies.
• 1:29:17
Speaker 3: Lord of the Rings, like the third one has like
• 1:29:20
Speaker 3: six endings. You have to read five times before that
• 1:29:23
Speaker 3: thing is over. He's too young for this stuff.
• 1:29:27
  Speaker 2: I don't know.
• 1:29:29
Speaker 11: I feel like I had to read the Hobbit as curriculum.
• 1:29:32
Speaker 7: I didn't read the Hobbits as curriculum for what if
• 1:29:34
  Speaker 7: I didn't have to read I tried.
• 1:29:37
  Speaker 1: To, Like.
• 1:29:40
Speaker 2: I didn't get to read it.
• 1:29:42
Speaker 3: You're going to be in the NFL if it wasn't
• 1:29:44
Speaker 3: for your foot. That's like I'm meging.
• 1:29:52
Speaker 11: In the NFL, we had to play football, not play school.
• 1:29:56
Speaker 10: Andy Kats and that was a great student guy.
• 1:30:01
Speaker 2: Josh and Ohio little listener on Listener Crime. Christian in
• 1:30:05
Speaker 2: La Edition. Hey you guys, Hey you guys. Christian in
• 1:30:09
Speaker 2: La Here just got home off my private jet from
• 1:30:11
Speaker 2: having a private dinner with the Countess of Netherlands at
• 1:30:14
Speaker 2: the top of the Eiffel Tower. It was fine, looking
• 1:30:17
Speaker 2: forward to my brunch in the center of the Roman
• 1:30:19
Speaker 2: Coliseum with her Royal Highness, the Dutchess of Switzerland next week. Anyway,
• 1:30:23
Speaker 2: the team showed exactly who they were during the Super Bowl,
• 1:30:26
Speaker 2: a true cardboard lion. Patriots just need to trade a
• 1:30:30
Speaker 2: couple six rounders for that. Max Crosby, guy in Oakland,
• 1:30:34
Speaker 2: drafted the stud wide receiver thirty one, a Hall of
• 1:30:36
Speaker 2: Fame tackle at sixty three cut Drake May. The kid
• 1:30:39
Speaker 2: is no clutch gene and clearly can't escape the pocket.
• 1:30:41
Speaker 2: I'll take it offline, but with those moves, I easily
• 1:30:44
Speaker 2: see seventeen and two season in a return trip to
• 1:30:47
Speaker 2: the Super Bowl. So he's making fun of Christian in La.
• 1:30:50
Speaker 16: I'm here for that going on here, Paul, we're not
• 1:30:53
Speaker 16: playing No, we are not great for radio Jordan writes
• 1:30:58
Speaker 16: this take Canada Women's hockey gold medal, gold medal game.
• 1:31:01
Speaker 3: Cannon's kind of kicking our butts, right, there's only.
• 1:31:03
Speaker 4: Two good teams in the world. Yeah, they're playing right, right,
• 1:31:07
Speaker 4: so they got to do something. Although hats off to Switzerland.
• 1:31:12
Speaker 4: Northeasts Elena Mueller. Yeah, wins the bronze medal in overtime.
• 1:31:17
Speaker 4: You're the only one here that doesn't I know that
• 1:31:19
Speaker 4: correctbody knows that is correct.
• 1:31:21
Speaker 2: Nobody cares, nobody knows.
• 1:31:23
  Speaker 9: Quinn.
• 1:31:23
Speaker 2: Here's though, hero Jordan says, I was interested in the
• 1:31:26
Speaker 2: conversation on whether it takes a cold blooded killer or
• 1:31:29
Speaker 2: alpha personality be an all time great Again. I go
• 1:31:33
Speaker 2: back to the beginning of the Patriots dynasty. For the
• 1:31:35
Speaker 2: first three Super Bowls, I would argue that Brady was
• 1:31:38
Speaker 2: not the leader or face of the team. The real
• 1:31:40
Speaker 2: leaders of that dynasty were all on defense. Tyler Rodney Harrison,
• 1:31:43
Speaker 2: Teddy Brewski, William McGinnis, Richard Seymour. Brady earned their respect
• 1:31:47
Speaker 2: with his play on the field and quiet confidence. It
• 1:31:50
Speaker 2: was only after the years of experience that Brady grew
• 1:31:52
Speaker 2: into the goat as those veterans left retired and the
• 1:31:55
Speaker 2: team became his. Let's not rush Drake to be the
• 1:31:58
Speaker 2: guy and give him. We sh give him time. He's
• 1:32:01
Speaker 2: very young, he's only been in the league for two years.
• 1:32:04
Speaker 2: Let Milton Williams, Robert Splaine, Morgan Moses lead this team
• 1:32:08
Speaker 2: and let Drake grow into the role just like Brady did.
• 1:32:11
Speaker 2: Perhaps this team will morph into an offense reliant team
• 1:32:15
Speaker 2: just like the Patriots dynasty did, which made Brady the
• 1:32:18
Speaker 2: clear focal leader and May with more time, will do
• 1:32:21
  Speaker 2: the same.
• 1:32:23
Speaker 3: Okay, isn't it funny? I'm not picking on the emailer,
• 1:32:25
Speaker 3: but they were an offensive lion team this year. Yeah,
• 1:32:30
Speaker 3: Like I feel like the playoffs have completed.
• 1:32:33
  Speaker 2: Changed changed that.
• 1:32:34
Speaker 3: But he was running up for the m v P.
• 1:32:36
  Speaker 4: It's a gross undersell of Tom Brady's early I mean,
• 1:32:40
Speaker 4: just a gross under sell. Like so they would have
• 1:32:43
Speaker 4: won the Super Bowl if Drew kept playing the number
• 1:32:46
Speaker 4: one Drew suck up on the planet.
• 1:32:49
Speaker 2: No, they would not have.
• 1:32:51
Speaker 10: I mean with all those leaders on defense.
• 1:32:54
Speaker 11: No, they have different personalities.
• 1:32:57
  Speaker 4: No, that's that's that's a whole different argument. But to
• 1:33:00
Speaker 4: say that Brady wasn't the Yeah, he wasn't the face
• 1:33:03
Speaker 4: of the two thousand and one Patriots.
• 1:33:05
Speaker 10: He was the face of the year three and all
• 1:33:06
  Speaker 10: four Patriots.
• 1:33:07
Speaker 2: I feel also feel like.
• 1:33:08
Speaker 7: The noise around Drake has been fair enough that it's
• 1:33:10
Speaker 7: not like pushing him like he is that alpha get
• 1:33:13
Speaker 7: you know what I mean, Like he's I feel like
• 1:33:15
Speaker 7: he's kind of in a good place right now. It
• 1:33:17
Speaker 7: could just be my perspective, but I feel like as
• 1:33:20
Speaker 7: far as Drake goes as I mean as the leader
• 1:33:23
Speaker 7: and as player, on the team, Like I feel like
• 1:33:25
Speaker 7: he's just one of the guys, you know what I mean.
• 1:33:28
Speaker 9: Now, I feel like he's not stepping in the way
• 1:33:31
  Speaker 9: of those.
• 1:33:31
  Speaker 8: Guys, you know.
• 1:33:32
Speaker 4: I mean, he's there's plenty of time for him to
• 1:33:34
Speaker 4: grow into a more of a you know, you see
• 1:33:36
Speaker 4: it like outwardly leadership role.
• 1:33:39
Speaker 3: You see it in pockets with him where like it
• 1:33:43
Speaker 3: will come out, and like there's times where like I
• 1:33:45
Speaker 3: feel like he's got kind of that you know, swagger
• 1:33:49
Speaker 3: to him that you want in that position.
• 1:33:52
Speaker 10: You see it every Friday, and.
• 1:33:54
Speaker 3: Like just yeah, kind of that like high school, like I'm,
• 1:33:57
Speaker 3: you know, star quarterback in high school, jockey type of thing.
• 1:34:00
Speaker 3: And and you know, there was one other time I
• 1:34:02
Speaker 3: could think of where I really saw it.
• 1:34:05
  Speaker 9: Uh.
• 1:34:05
Speaker 3: We were talking in the locker room and he he
• 1:34:08
Speaker 3: wanted to play the Bills again because he was so
• 1:34:12
Speaker 3: mad that they lost to the Bills the second time,
• 1:34:15
Speaker 3: and he was in he wanted the Bills, and I
• 1:34:18
Speaker 3: was like kind of crazy for that, Like it was
• 1:34:20
Speaker 3: care about what you wish for, and he like really
• 1:34:22
Speaker 3: wanted to play the Bills again because he wanted he
• 1:34:24
Speaker 3: thought they should have beaten them both times. Yeah, and
• 1:34:27
Speaker 3: he was so mad that they didn't beat him the
• 1:34:28
Speaker 3: second time that he was really hoping in the playoffs
• 1:34:31
Speaker 3: they were going to get another crack at Buffalo and
• 1:34:34
Speaker 3: then they didn't, and and you know whatever. But I
• 1:34:37
Speaker 3: like you see it in those types of ways. I
• 1:34:39
Speaker 3: don't know if it's necessarily Brady.
• 1:34:40
Speaker 14: It's in like a perfectionism way. He's really analytical. And
• 1:34:44
  Speaker 14: then again he's just so young. I think it's a
• 1:34:46
  Speaker 14: it's a confidence thing.
• 1:34:47
Speaker 9: I think he's gonna come time.
• 1:34:49
Speaker 2: So if the Painterots had got another crack at Buffalo
• 1:34:52
Speaker 2: would have been during that huge snowshoe.
• 1:34:54
Speaker 14: What would we have done. I've talked about this a
• 1:34:56
Speaker 14: lot of time. We couldn't have played that game. It
• 1:34:58
Speaker 14: was like a state of emergency.
• 1:35:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, it would have been It would have been interesting.
• 1:35:02
Speaker 11: I don't think they would have been able to play
• 1:35:03
Speaker 11: the game. I think they would have.
• 1:35:05
Speaker 14: It was really bad, right, yeah, because it was ten
• 1:35:09
Speaker 14: times worse here than it was in Denver.
• 1:35:11
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and Denver was even close.
• 1:35:14
Speaker 3: Denver came out of nowhere kind of like.
• 1:35:16
Speaker 2: It wasn't a lot of accumulation on the well, I
• 1:35:18
Speaker 2: guess there was some on the field, but the wind
• 1:35:22
  Speaker 2: and everything else.
• 1:35:23
Speaker 4: Before conditions, before the game had started. It was a
• 1:35:26
Speaker 4: three o'clock start, right, Yea. It was already over a
• 1:35:29
Speaker 4: foot of snow on the ground and in Boston and
• 1:35:32
Speaker 4: it was like continuing to fall.
• 1:35:34
Speaker 2: So it's not like it snowed. It stopped and they
• 1:35:37
Speaker 2: would have had time to clear out.
• 1:35:39
  Speaker 11: They wouldn't have.
• 1:35:40
Speaker 10: There was over a foot of snow before we even
• 1:35:42
Speaker 10: want would have even gotten here.
• 1:35:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, I think Alex might be right.
• 1:35:46
Speaker 11: They wouldn't have been able to play.
• 1:35:48
Speaker 10: They might not have been able to.
• 1:35:48
Speaker 2: Put the next day.
• 1:35:51
Speaker 9: Ever, canceled the game like that.
• 1:35:54
Speaker 2: Your Patriots not canceling health on that half.
• 1:35:58
Speaker 11: Yeah, the Patriots, like Buffalo a couple of years ago something.
• 1:36:01
Speaker 4: Regular season Philadelphia had one that was moved I think
• 1:36:05
  Speaker 4: to a Monday.
• 1:36:06
Speaker 11: Or Hurricanes have done it the home venue, Yes, that's
• 1:36:10
  Speaker 11: the game.
• 1:36:11
  Speaker 2: I'm thinking DETROITI.
• 1:36:13
Speaker 3: Yeah, but not not playoffs usually.
• 1:36:17
Speaker 2: But what would you do? Man? I think they would
• 1:36:19
  Speaker 2: have moved Monday.
• 1:36:23
Speaker 4: Chrispher has gotten very lucky with a lot of those
• 1:36:26
Speaker 4: over the years, like the Kansas City, the famous Kansas
• 1:36:30
Speaker 4: City AOC championship game in Kansas City the eighteen It
• 1:36:34
Speaker 4: would have been the same kind of thing that Alex
• 1:36:36
Speaker 4: was talking about that day.
• 1:36:37
Speaker 2: It was ridiculous. Here, Yeah, proud keyboard warrior. Chris from
• 1:36:42
Speaker 2: New Hampshire writes in when I crafted fire off an email,
• 1:36:45
Speaker 2: it has to be selected by the Great Curse. The
• 1:36:48
Speaker 2: Great Curse selects only the best emails, and the pride
• 1:36:51
Speaker 2: and joy one can feel as he hears his words
• 1:36:53
Speaker 2: read back to him can truly be monumental. There is
• 1:36:56
Speaker 2: no such bar with callers. All you require is an
• 1:36:59
Speaker 2: old in line. Then you get your chance to grind
• 1:37:02
Speaker 2: the show to a halt as you ask how everyone
• 1:37:05
Speaker 2: is doing. Then give your resume as a fan and listener.
• 1:37:08
Speaker 2: The opinions usually regurgitated of someone who watched them play
• 1:37:12
Speaker 2: at Boston University is no more worthless than someone who
• 1:37:16
Speaker 2: started watching football when Bad Bunny started. The only caller
• 1:37:20
Speaker 2: I get anything out of is Christian from la He
• 1:37:22
Speaker 2: is a constant reminder that wealth doesn't stop someone from
• 1:37:25
Speaker 2: being a loser. Dang, that was harsh, christ in New Hampshire.
• 1:37:33
Speaker 2: That's that's what he has to say.
• 1:37:34
Speaker 10: It's necessarily wrong, but harsh.
• 1:37:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, from the top.
• 1:37:37
Speaker 2: Yeah. Meanwhile, let's get back to the phones. Derek is
• 1:37:42
Speaker 2: in North Carolina. What's up Derek.
• 1:37:44
Speaker 10: Actually in South Carolina.
• 1:37:45
  Speaker 1: Yeah.
• 1:37:46
Speaker 2: When I look at the screen, then I looked up.
• 1:37:48
  Speaker 2: I can't see what's up.
• 1:37:51
Speaker 5: It's hard to follow up.
• 1:37:52
Speaker 8: What's hard to follow up with an email like that?
• 1:37:53
  Speaker 17: So I won't ask how anybody's doing.
• 1:37:55
Speaker 24: I won't tell you about anything about.
• 1:37:57
Speaker 5: My history as a Patriots fan. I'll just ask this.
• 1:38:03
  Speaker 15: I sent an email, but I don't know if y'all
• 1:38:04
  Speaker 15: read it.
• 1:38:04
Speaker 5: I had to jump off the line.
• 1:38:06
Speaker 24: But is Cole Comet an option for a tight end one?
• 1:38:11
  Speaker 2: Tight end two?
• 1:38:13
Speaker 15: He obviously is expendable now that Colston Lovelin is in Chicago.
• 1:38:16
  Speaker 5: He's a big guy, he's a big body. I don't
• 1:38:18
Speaker 5: know if he's a free agent or if he's under contract.
• 1:38:21
Speaker 5: Is that an option? I'll take it off the air.
• 1:38:23
Speaker 2: Okay, I've seen Cole Comet's name and a couple of
• 1:38:26
Speaker 2: emails as I've been scanning, so you're not the only
• 1:38:28
  Speaker 2: one wondering.
• 1:38:29
Speaker 3: That he was under contract. Ben Johnson likes his tight.
• 1:38:34
Speaker 2: Ends, so that was my first reaction. I don't likes
• 1:38:37
Speaker 2: to use a lot of.
• 1:38:37
Speaker 3: No, do they feel like that they could draft the
• 1:38:40
Speaker 3: tight end and get cheaper at that tight end two?
• 1:38:44
Speaker 3: Spot behind Colston love one, but I think there are
• 1:38:47
Speaker 3: a little bit different players too, So I don't know.
• 1:38:50
Speaker 3: I just don't know if if I just gonna say Detroit,
• 1:38:53
Speaker 3: if Chicago is going to really want to move on
• 1:38:56
Speaker 3: from Cole Comett and kind to give up that flexibility
• 1:38:59
Speaker 3: of being in those two tight end and looks, but
• 1:39:01
Speaker 3: him and you know, Michael Mayer in Vegas is kind
• 1:39:03
Speaker 3: of in a similar category of you know, now you
• 1:39:06
Speaker 3: brought hours in front of you, Like, could either one
• 1:39:08
Speaker 3: of those be available?
• 1:39:10
  Speaker 9: Maybe?
• 1:39:10
Speaker 10: I like cole Comet always had big dude.
• 1:39:12
Speaker 2: He's beast huge, Ben and Brooklyn right sin anyone noticed
• 1:39:19
Speaker 2: that Barmore was panting heavily on the first defensive series
• 1:39:23
Speaker 2: of the second half Super Bowl I'm assuming might have
• 1:39:26
Speaker 2: been the same series where he attempted to chase down
• 1:39:28
Speaker 2: the runner and only managed to briefly hold hands with him.
• 1:39:32
Speaker 2: I don't know. Did anyone else notice that?
• 1:39:34
  Speaker 1: No?
• 1:39:34
Speaker 2: I didn't. Also, while the show has discussed some coaching
• 1:39:37
Speaker 2: questions related to the offense, do you have any theories
• 1:39:40
Speaker 2: as to why McDaniels didn't make any of those adjustments
• 1:39:44
Speaker 2: six alignemen, tosses, et cetera. They did some of them,
• 1:39:50
Speaker 2: They did something just not well. Yeah, I just think
• 1:39:53
  Speaker 2: the enough.
• 1:39:54
Speaker 4: Is I think a very legitimate second guess. They'd mean
• 1:39:57
Speaker 4: it one play, so you can't say that they did it.
• 1:40:00
Speaker 2: They didn't. They only did it once.
• 1:40:02
Speaker 3: My guess is when you play teams like Seattle that
• 1:40:06
Speaker 3: play as much zone as they play, you know, you
• 1:40:09
Speaker 3: want to try to send as many guys into the
• 1:40:11
Speaker 3: route as you possibly can because you're trying to to
• 1:40:14
Speaker 3: you know, stress rules and things like that. When you
• 1:40:17
Speaker 3: kind of go to that six tozer line thing, you're
• 1:40:19
Speaker 3: basically sending max three receivers into the route. And maybe
• 1:40:23
Speaker 3: they just felt like, we're going to send three guys
• 1:40:25
Speaker 3: into the route with seven guys in coverage, we're going
• 1:40:27
Speaker 3: to be where are our number is going to be
• 1:40:30
Speaker 3: to take advantage and I but obviously I brought up
• 1:40:34
Speaker 3: all these second guesses, so I'm.
• 1:40:36
Speaker 4: With it and the yeah, and it's all legit when
• 1:40:37
Speaker 4: they when you have an offensive game the way they
• 1:40:39
Speaker 4: did in the Super Bowl, all this, all these are
• 1:40:42
Speaker 4: all fair second guests. They didn't they didn't perform well enough,
• 1:40:45
Speaker 4: they didn't execute. I don't think the plan was great.
• 1:40:48
Speaker 4: I think they felt Seattle wasn't going to adjust the
• 1:40:51
Speaker 4: personnel to the Patriots six offensive lineman agreed and in
• 1:40:55
Speaker 4: that and I think that was part of the reason
• 1:40:56
Speaker 4: why they didn't do it.
• 1:40:58
Speaker 9: But they didn't do it, So.
• 1:41:00
Speaker 2: A big question to work.
• 1:41:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you know, next week we'll talk to
• 1:41:03
Speaker 3: both Elliott Wolf and Mike Rabel at the combine and
• 1:41:06
Speaker 3: I'm sure they'll get a lot of, you know, free
• 1:41:07
Speaker 3: agency questions, gonzo questions, things like that. But to me,
• 1:41:10
Speaker 3: I think one of the biggest questions right now is
• 1:41:12
Speaker 3: like what happened in the playoffs with the offense? You know,
• 1:41:14
Speaker 3: why did the offense? Was it just competition, level of competition,
• 1:41:18
Speaker 3: was a young guys and you know, pressure and all that.
• 1:41:21
Speaker 3: Like what happened to the offense we saw in the
• 1:41:23
Speaker 3: regular season once they got to the playoffs. It looked
• 1:41:26
Speaker 3: like a completely different team was out there playing offense.
• 1:41:29
Speaker 3: And those are the tough questions that I think they're
• 1:41:31
Speaker 3: going to have to answer when we start to map
• 1:41:33
Speaker 3: out the offseason of like do you need big upgrades
• 1:41:37
Speaker 3: on offense or did you need experience? Did you need
• 1:41:40
Speaker 3: that sort of thing? In which direction do you think
• 1:41:42
Speaker 3: it needs to go in.
• 1:41:43
Speaker 2: Lastly, since it's the off season, I agree with Paul's
• 1:41:46
Speaker 2: observation a while back that The Departed was a weak movie. Oh,
• 1:41:51
  Speaker 2: that's a great movie. If I were a linguistic consultant,
• 1:41:53
Speaker 2: I recommend the deep cut. Boston accents would be boga,
• 1:41:57
Speaker 2: book or bag, but a the ships, irregardless her, regardless
• 1:42:03
Speaker 2: of an Italian one.
• 1:42:06
Speaker 3: It's not a word you don't like to departed.
• 1:42:08
Speaker 4: I don't think They Departed is anywhere near as good
• 1:42:10
Speaker 4: as most of those other movies.
• 1:42:12
Speaker 2: Wow, I think they're all good in the same category.
• 1:42:17
Speaker 3: When I tell you to bury your body in the marsh,
• 1:42:20
Speaker 3: to bury it in the mad.
• 1:42:21
  Speaker 2: I don't like it.
• 1:42:22
Speaker 11: Why didn't you like products like I want?
• 1:42:26
Speaker 2: Why didn't you like it?
• 1:42:28
Speaker 4: Matt Damon and Nicholson Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicholson mailed it in.
• 1:42:32
Speaker 2: To be honest with you, I didn't.
• 1:42:37
Speaker 3: That was a hot take, A very.
• 1:42:39
Speaker 2: Good I love me too.
• 1:42:40
Speaker 11: It's my favorite movie of all. It's up there, it's
• 1:42:43
  Speaker 11: top three.
• 1:42:44
Speaker 4: I just learned a lot about you today and those
• 1:42:47
Speaker 4: I love those movies, to be honest with you, all
• 1:42:50
  Speaker 4: of them, but I didn't.
• 1:42:51
  Speaker 2: I didn't love that one.
• 1:42:53
Speaker 11: So like if you had tomato writing, would you give me?
• 1:42:57
  Speaker 2: I don't know Mystic River.
• 1:43:00
Speaker 4: Mister River also also better than are you saying is
• 1:43:03
Speaker 4: it's not as good as like great movies, Like.
• 1:43:09
Speaker 3: It's not as good as like it's not as good
• 1:43:12
Speaker 3: as a Fellas. The Town, Oh, I would agree, I
• 1:43:14
Speaker 3: mean Goodfellas might be the best movie. So I would
• 1:43:17
Speaker 3: agree with that Town, notch under God. I love it.
• 1:43:22
Speaker 2: Yeah, I like them all too.
• 1:43:28
Speaker 4: Just take out the five minutes in the Town where
• 1:43:30
Speaker 4: they drive to Everett for the drug thing.
• 1:43:33
Speaker 11: Or all of Blake Lively.
• 1:43:35
  Speaker 1: She was bad.
• 1:43:36
Speaker 10: She was Jack Nicholson as he was hot but bad.
• 1:43:38
Speaker 2: It was tough. Yeah, it's tough when they they in
• 1:43:44
Speaker 2: these movies, except for maybe Goodfellas that they have to
• 1:43:47
Speaker 2: have like the romantic part of it, Like no, you don't,
• 1:43:50
Speaker 2: you don't need that.
• 1:43:51
Speaker 3: What about Karen Catrin his wife in what in Goodfellas?
• 1:43:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, but she really like you know, you wouldn't have Yeah, yeah, no,
• 1:44:00
Speaker 2: but it wasn't like, oh I hope they stay together.
• 1:44:03
Speaker 3: Oh you know, because she was annoying.
• 1:44:05
Speaker 2: I know, but like you know what I mean, there
• 1:44:09
Speaker 2: wasn't the romantic element of the movie. But that was
• 1:44:12
Speaker 2: also different because it was based on it was a
• 1:44:14
Speaker 2: true story. Yeah, yeah, Samon Baltimore writes in Longtime Listener,
• 1:44:22
Speaker 2: First time Emailer, I'll hang up and listen. I know
• 1:44:25
Speaker 2: there's been a lot of talk about our potential interest
• 1:44:27
Speaker 2: in Max Crosby, with Brady seemingly trying to distance himself
• 1:44:31
Speaker 2: from the Patriots to try to display objectiveness. Is there
• 1:44:35
Speaker 2: a chance that there's a bit of attacks for the
• 1:44:38
Speaker 2: Patriots when acquiring Raiders players. I could see him trying
• 1:44:41
Speaker 2: to ensure that any of his trades with the Patriots
• 1:44:44
Speaker 2: are not seen as a fleece, or him trying to
• 1:44:46
Speaker 2: help out his former team to the public. I might
• 1:44:49
Speaker 2: be overthinking this one, but I wouldn't count it out
• 1:44:52
Speaker 2: with his recent public comments.
• 1:44:55
  Speaker 3: I don't think you're overthinking it. But I don't know
• 1:44:57
  Speaker 3: the answer.
• 1:44:58
  Speaker 2: I think there's a chance he won't trade him to
• 1:44:59
Speaker 2: the Patriots. Yeah, there there's a chance, yeah, or be
• 1:45:02
Speaker 2: extra hard on the Patriots. Yeah.
• 1:45:04
  Speaker 3: I think there's a chance. Yeah.
• 1:45:05
Speaker 2: So I think there is some validity to that.
• 1:45:07
  Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know if that's true, but I imagine
• 1:45:10
  Speaker 3: it could be.
• 1:45:11
  Speaker 2: Yeah.
• 1:45:12
Speaker 4: I do like how you make yourself, try to make
• 1:45:14
Speaker 4: yourself feel better. He's displaying the objectivity, or maybe he
• 1:45:19
Speaker 4: just doesn't like you the way you like him?
• 1:45:20
Speaker 2: Right. Meanwhile, he's the voiceover for the said forty nine
• 1:45:25
Speaker 2: ers documentary. You know, like if you're a Raiders fan,
• 1:45:28
Speaker 2: do you like that? You know, because he's talking about
• 1:45:31
Speaker 2: how like he loved the rap He.
• 1:45:35
Speaker 3: Owns like three percent of the team, I know, but
• 1:45:39
Speaker 3: not just supposed to be very involved in the decisions
• 1:45:42
Speaker 3: in charge, right, maybe regardless of how much he owns.
• 1:45:46
Speaker 3: I would like to, you know, know, like if youtors.
• 1:45:49
Speaker 4: Every yard he picks up poll walnuts on the Sopranos,
• 1:45:53
Speaker 4: ir regardless, T Yeah, Joe and Brian Hackett.
• 1:46:00
Speaker 2: And wait, the kind of from Kansas? Can't see it, Paul?
• 1:46:03
Speaker 2: I know you guys are tired of hearing this, but
• 1:46:05
Speaker 2: just curious if you've heard anything about new home and
• 1:46:09
Speaker 2: away jerseys for next season. I don't.
• 1:46:13
Speaker 4: I don't think so, right, Evidently someone on the panel
• 1:46:16
Speaker 4: has no I was sighing like that, like you sounded
• 1:46:20
Speaker 4: like you had some information there that you were suppressed.
• 1:46:23
Speaker 11: I wouldn't do that to Fred.
• 1:46:26
Speaker 2: I think like, in order to have new jerseys, you
• 1:46:29
  Speaker 2: have to.
• 1:46:29
Speaker 11: Again in the Blue Bear, to have a four year
• 1:46:31
  Speaker 11: run run.
• 1:46:32
Speaker 2: Up on it, Like you have to submit it four
• 1:46:34
  Speaker 2: years in advances.
• 1:46:35
Speaker 7: The lights the blue on blues, colender lights all white
• 1:46:39
Speaker 7: was pretty sweet too. Oh no, those are perfect, but perfect,
• 1:46:43
Speaker 7: perfect they were. Those are clean all white, man, those
• 1:46:47
Speaker 7: are nice. I think the blue on blue is good.
• 1:46:50
Speaker 7: Look though, the blue on blue and Buffalo is perfect.
• 1:46:52
Speaker 7: I mean that was in Buffalo.
• 1:46:55
Speaker 3: I'm not a I'm not a one tone kind of guy.
• 1:46:58
Speaker 7: No, but I thought it looked great. There's very appealing
• 1:47:00
Speaker 7: to the the watchers. I like, well, man, I'm just
• 1:47:05
Speaker 7: I'm just saying how I feel. Isn't now what it's about.
• 1:47:09
Speaker 3: Well, I mean you're taking like this is for visual Like, yeah,
• 1:47:13
  Speaker 3: that's what I'm saying.
• 1:47:15
Speaker 7: Usually the blue on blue verse, the one on white
• 1:47:17
Speaker 7: uniforms of Buffalo is a very That's not my area
• 1:47:21
  Speaker 7: appealing game.
• 1:47:22
Speaker 3: So I'll leave that up to you guys.
• 1:47:24
  Speaker 9: Fair enough, I don't.
• 1:47:27
Speaker 2: David the Philippines says, when I came home after graduating
• 1:47:30
Speaker 2: from college, my mom said, you got four weeks to
• 1:47:32
Speaker 2: find someplace else to live, then I'll start charging your rent.
• 1:47:35
Speaker 2: I was moved out in three weeks. Never regretted it
• 1:47:38
Speaker 2: for a minute. I did have a job already, so
• 1:47:40
Speaker 2: it wasn't that that painful.
• 1:47:41
  Speaker 3: I don't really get that. It's a cultural you don't
• 1:47:45
Speaker 3: get what like I think that it's and I also
• 1:47:48
Speaker 3: think it's maybe different now because it is really hard
• 1:47:50
Speaker 3: in your twenties, Yeah, to support yourself.
• 1:47:54
Speaker 2: Yeah it is. I think it's getting worse and worse too. Yeah,
• 1:47:57
Speaker 2: but a lot of you people you don't want roommates
• 1:48:00
  Speaker 2: had five rooms.
• 1:48:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, but like I don't really still I think that.
• 1:48:04
Speaker 3: And I'm not like trying to pick on the emailers parents,
• 1:48:06
Speaker 3: but like when you do that and nowadays to your kids,
• 1:48:10
Speaker 3: like the financial burden that you're putting on your kid
• 1:48:12
Speaker 3: could be like catastrophic, like long term, and my parents
• 1:48:15
Speaker 3: would not do this, So it's not coming from a
• 1:48:17
Speaker 3: place of that, but like nowadays it's really really hard
• 1:48:20
Speaker 3: to live on your own in your twenty I.
• 1:48:21
Speaker 2: Think here's the I think if you if you paid
• 1:48:25
Speaker 2: for your kids education so that they don't have any
• 1:48:28
Speaker 2: school loans, they have to move out. But if they
• 1:48:31
Speaker 2: have school loans because you didn't pay for it, then
• 1:48:33
Speaker 2: you should give them a break.
• 1:48:34
Speaker 10: What if it's a little We're both give.
• 1:48:36
Speaker 2: Them a little break.
• 1:48:37
Speaker 3: But LIKEAK, but wouldn't as a parent, I'm not a parent.
• 1:48:42
Speaker 3: As a parent, wouldn't you want not to watch your
• 1:48:45
Speaker 3: kid go into debt trying to support themselves on their
• 1:48:47
Speaker 3: own versus living in Yeah, right, like because nowadays you
• 1:48:52
  Speaker 3: you really could.
• 1:48:54
Speaker 2: When you get to that point, you're tapped out, Like
• 1:48:57
  Speaker 2: I can't afford you to live here anymore. I can't.
• 1:49:00
  Speaker 3: I can't.
• 1:49:01
Speaker 11: Yeah, but paying rent? Maybe your parents parents.
• 1:49:05
Speaker 2: Are well off when their kids graduated college, Like they've
• 1:49:08
Speaker 2: tapped themselves out for the kid. Now it's like you
• 1:49:12
  Speaker 2: gotta go.
• 1:49:13
Speaker 11: But what if it's a win win.
• 1:49:14
Speaker 14: You're paying me rent, the rent is cheaper than you
• 1:49:17
Speaker 14: would be in southeast or in Milford or wherever you're
• 1:49:20
  Speaker 14: gonna go live.
• 1:49:21
Speaker 11: You're giving you the money.
• 1:49:22
Speaker 2: Too, so then you know, like if you're contributing, then
• 1:49:25
  Speaker 2: okay Milford.
• 1:49:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, I just think I just random time.
• 1:49:29
  Speaker 9: Home down.
• 1:49:30
Speaker 3: I just think that's really really hard, like to be
• 1:49:33
Speaker 3: self sufficient in your twenties, especially in the Northeast right now,
• 1:49:37
Speaker 3: in the way the housing market is, it's it's it's hard.
• 1:49:40
  Speaker 2: I don't know how these kids. I don't know how
• 1:49:41
Speaker 2: you kids do it.
• 1:49:42
Speaker 4: Like once you get a certain age too, So let's
• 1:49:44
Speaker 4: just say you're out of college. So what twenty two
• 1:49:47
  Speaker 4: twenty three.
• 1:49:48
Speaker 14: Unless you're me like twenty five, but how to find
• 1:49:52
Speaker 14: yourself red, so like you get to find yourself.
• 1:49:54
Speaker 4: How much more you know, if if like Will is
• 1:49:58
Speaker 4: done with college and you comes back and he and
• 1:50:01
Speaker 4: he lives at home, which he probably will for at
• 1:50:03
Speaker 4: least a short time, how much more is that costing me?
• 1:50:06
Speaker 4: It's cost me more in food obviously, but what else.
• 1:50:10
Speaker 4: I'm not going to be paying his insurance forever.
• 1:50:13
Speaker 7: I feel like me freshly out of the house, like
• 1:50:16
Speaker 7: literally two months out, this is I feel like I
• 1:50:21
Speaker 7: I speak to this one.
• 1:50:24
Speaker 2: I just feel like my parents.
• 1:50:25
Speaker 7: Always push all well, eventually, like you're gonna pay rent.
• 1:50:28
Speaker 7: But it was mostly if I was being annoying or whatever,
• 1:50:31
Speaker 7: and that was kind of more that line of like
• 1:50:33
Speaker 7: when that threat would come. Uh, but as long as
• 1:50:36
Speaker 7: like someone's kind of showing support and doing stuff around
• 1:50:39
Speaker 7: the house and being there and like helping out and
• 1:50:42
Speaker 7: not just being taken over your place and I'm living
• 1:50:45
Speaker 7: independently in your house, like no, you're still under your parents'
• 1:50:49
Speaker 7: roof and your parents roof with respect.
• 1:50:52
Speaker 9: Like I think that's what that's what it really boiled
• 1:50:54
Speaker 9: down to. But now I'm out, so I think.
• 1:50:56
Speaker 14: It's a cultural thing too, because I think European families,
• 1:50:58
Speaker 14: it's so normal that like the family unit is so together,
• 1:51:01
Speaker 14: like like an Italian, Portuguese families, whatever it may be.
• 1:51:06
Speaker 14: Even like my friend is one of my best friend's
• 1:51:08
Speaker 14: got them all on the same thing. Like they'll pile
• 1:51:11
Speaker 14: eight ten people under one roof and it's just it's great,
• 1:51:14
Speaker 14: your whole family's there.
• 1:51:15
Speaker 3: And it was just in my mother that's what we
• 1:51:16
Speaker 3: would do there, all of us would be living under
• 1:51:19
  Speaker 3: one room together.
• 1:51:20
Speaker 4: And I go back to make it easy, solution was
• 1:51:24
Speaker 4: just hit the lottery. My father always said, you're just
• 1:51:26
Speaker 4: going to hit the power ball and buy a cul
• 1:51:27
  Speaker 4: de sac.
• 1:51:28
Speaker 11: My dream is like a compound, family compound.
• 1:51:34
Speaker 14: That's my dream garden in the middle, the little basketball
• 1:51:37
  Speaker 14: court like.
• 1:51:40
  Speaker 4: That.
• 1:51:40
Speaker 14: Who doesn't want the Kennedy compound. I wasn't aiming as
• 1:51:43
Speaker 14: high as Hyanna's port, but yes, I will take that.
• 1:51:46
  Speaker 2: Yeah that's great.
• 1:51:49
Speaker 9: Yeah that's my perspective.
• 1:51:50
Speaker 3: Guys, thanks to provide it.
• 1:51:53
Speaker 9: Yeah that was good. That conversation went.
• 1:51:56
Speaker 10: From the NFL to moving out of his house, just
• 1:51:58
Speaker 10: like I have a text from them.
• 1:52:01
Speaker 2: All right, Yeah, look who it is. It's Christian in
• 1:52:07
Speaker 2: La We need a theme song for him.
• 1:52:11
Speaker 5: And I'm looking at you Paul today.
• 1:52:13
Speaker 1: Oh okay, before I come at.
• 1:52:15
Speaker 5: You, Paul, let me just find some solidarity with my
• 1:52:18
  Speaker 5: boy Eldridge.
• 1:52:19
Speaker 25: Hey, Eldrid, what are you gonna do with these keyboard
• 1:52:21
Speaker 25: warriors that want to be radio famous by coming after.
• 1:52:24
Speaker 5: The you know, the old dogs here or the regulars.
• 1:52:27
Speaker 25: And I just gotta say this to the to the
• 1:52:30
Speaker 25: guy that are coming after me, And this is for YouTube, Paul.
• 1:52:33
Speaker 25: You winners, don't hate well. Elevate yourself your second job,
• 1:52:39
Speaker 25: get a hobby, do something.
• 1:52:40
  Speaker 5: Else we have.
• 1:52:42
Speaker 2: I have like three jobs. That's the fact that I can.
• 1:52:45
Speaker 25: Afford to pay for my kids college has nothing to
• 1:52:48
Speaker 25: do with me being a win or a loser.
• 1:52:50
Speaker 5: I'm here as a Patriots fan.
• 1:52:52
Speaker 25: So everyone out there, I want to come out to
• 1:52:54
Speaker 25: Christian in LA because I have to have some money.
• 1:52:58
  Speaker 5: Elevate yourself.
• 1:52:59
Speaker 10: I thought this was about me.
• 1:53:00
Speaker 2: There you go, Chris Sponsor. How you mentioned yourself in
• 1:53:05
Speaker 2: the third person too?
• 1:53:06
Speaker 3: I think it's more like, you know, maybe don't brag
• 1:53:09
Speaker 3: about having money all the time.
• 1:53:11
Speaker 25: Yeah, Chris, My dad always used to tell me you
• 1:53:17
Speaker 25: heard me brag about having money. You guys have heard
• 1:53:19
Speaker 25: me mentioned things, and I said, yeah, I can afford
• 1:53:21
Speaker 25: to do that, But you never actually had me brag
• 1:53:23
  Speaker 25: about having money.
• 1:53:24
  Speaker 2: Well I will.
• 1:53:25
Speaker 3: I'm just teasing you.
• 1:53:26
Speaker 2: Christ My dad used to always say, always say less
• 1:53:29
Speaker 2: than you know and show less than you have.
• 1:53:33
  Speaker 5: I'm coming out.
• 1:53:35
Speaker 25: Oh yeah, that's harse, but I don't necessarily disagree with it.
• 1:53:38
Speaker 5: Oh all right, thanks all.
• 1:53:41
Speaker 10: What did you say?
• 1:53:42
  Speaker 3: He was Christian?
• 1:53:44
Speaker 25: Having money doesn't doesn't make you a winner, so it
• 1:53:46
Speaker 25: makes your losing pouls. Oh yeah, that was harsh, but
• 1:53:48
Speaker 25: I don't necessarily disagree with it.
• 1:53:51
Speaker 4: I don't understand what I'm disagreeing with the emailer when
• 1:53:56
Speaker 4: the email that I wrote, Oh.
• 1:53:58
Speaker 2: I get you now, Okay, Yeah, No, I was. That
• 1:54:00
  Speaker 2: was being snarky.
• 1:54:01
Speaker 11: You were also, I think, just agreeing generally, not necessarily
• 1:54:04
  Speaker 11: about Christian.
• 1:54:04
Speaker 2: No, I was. I was taking a shot of Christian.
• 1:54:07
Speaker 2: He doesn't me all the time like it's fun.
• 1:54:09
  Speaker 10: Yeah, it's fun.
• 1:54:11
Speaker 2: Fun's a bit. Oh, I want to know Christians? When
• 1:54:13
Speaker 2: am I gonna get a little taste of this?
• 1:54:15
Speaker 11: I just said, Christian, you should sponsor Paul.
• 1:54:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, like, pick us up in your jet and take
• 1:54:19
  Speaker 2: us somewhere.
• 1:54:21
Speaker 11: Is the Tesla Tesla plaid.
• 1:54:22
  Speaker 2: You can.
• 1:54:23
Speaker 10: You could pick Fred up.
• 1:54:24
Speaker 25: I have no interest if you next year, right next
• 1:54:27
Speaker 25: year when the Super Bowl is in l A, I
• 1:54:29
Speaker 25: avice you. I literally do live in a fifty million
• 1:54:32
  Speaker 25: dollar mansion.
• 1:54:33
Speaker 10: You got to please glad you never brag about it.
• 1:54:37
Speaker 11: Come out all right, Christian, I'm coming to Italy, not
• 1:54:40
  Speaker 11: La there.
• 1:54:41
Speaker 2: It is okay, I love it. Fred will enjoy the
• 1:54:44
Speaker 2: invite some mansion vacation there. If you have a pool,
• 1:54:50
  Speaker 2: I'm in don't believe.
• 1:54:51
Speaker 25: I'm very free to send you pictures, Christians.
• 1:54:54
  Speaker 3: Send me pictures.
• 1:54:56
Speaker 11: Send me pictures of your Italian villa as well.
• 1:54:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, you get some different kind of wealth on that
• 1:55:00
Speaker 3: West coast man. Yeah, some of those houses that oh
• 1:55:04
Speaker 3: yeah up in the hills and stuff like that. It's
• 1:55:06
Speaker 3: like wow, I mean.
• 1:55:07
Speaker 2: A two bedroom ranch now is like two million dollars
• 1:55:10
Speaker 2: in the Bay Area. It's ridiculous.
• 1:55:13
Speaker 5: You don't get much, right, you don't get much out here.
• 1:55:15
Speaker 25: But however, onto football, and forget the lifestyles of the
• 1:55:19
Speaker 25: christ and famous. You know, I really want us to
• 1:55:23
Speaker 25: make as to make a splash on on edge. The
• 1:55:26
Speaker 25: reason why I say that is because this is known
• 1:55:28
Speaker 25: as a really deep edge class, right, yeah, So it
• 1:55:31
Speaker 25: feels like we can package a few a few of
• 1:55:33
Speaker 25: our free and try to move up and grab an
• 1:55:37
Speaker 25: early edge guy that gives us. That gives us the
• 1:55:41
Speaker 25: ability then to sit back in free agency and Nike
• 1:55:44
Speaker 25: a big splash on a wide receiver because to me,
• 1:55:47
Speaker 25: the things that we're really missing is a really really
• 1:55:50
Speaker 25: crafty edge guy obviously a great wide receiver, a rangy.
• 1:55:56
  Speaker 5: Linebacker.
• 1:55:57
Speaker 25: And I hate to stay this, but seven out of
• 1:56:00
Speaker 25: eight people have us drafting and outside tackle. I've been
• 1:56:04
Speaker 25: watching the mock draft and they all keep going up,
• 1:56:07
Speaker 25: keep putting up offensive tackle. So I'm not the only
• 1:56:10
Speaker 25: one saying it. They must know something else too about
• 1:56:13
Speaker 25: what you know, what they think we should do.
• 1:56:14
Speaker 5: But anyway, hey, I love you.
• 1:56:15
Speaker 25: Guys, and I love this show and I love Patriots Nations.
• 1:56:18
Speaker 5: So let's keep it rolling and.
• 1:56:21
Speaker 2: Okay day, all right, thanks Christian.
• 1:56:23
Speaker 3: I have seen mock drafts with tackles, and I I
• 1:56:26
Speaker 3: don't quite really understand why, uh tackle certainly is a
• 1:56:31
Speaker 3: need up. Maybe on DAYTUA draft.
• 1:56:33
Speaker 2: I think like, if you're at thirty one and you
• 1:56:36
  Speaker 2: think there's a blue chip tackle, I don't care left
• 1:56:38
Speaker 2: or right, I would take them.
• 1:56:40
Speaker 3: Well, there is none. But you know, all right, blue
• 1:56:42
Speaker 3: tackles at thirty one, right, But like I just don't,
• 1:56:46
Speaker 3: I don't know, like right tackle is a long term
• 1:56:48
Speaker 3: need like Morgan Moses is obviously not getting any younger,
• 1:56:51
Speaker 3: and they need to one.
• 1:56:52
Speaker 2: If long term is after next year, then okay.
• 1:56:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's not at twenty twenty six need on
• 1:56:58
Speaker 3: either side, I would say, because they're to live or
• 1:57:00
Speaker 3: die with Campbell, I left tackle for twenty six and
• 1:57:02
Speaker 3: hope that he develops.
• 1:57:03
Speaker 2: Okay, uh Mowen Vermont and New York. From a parent
• 1:57:07
Speaker 2: who's just whose kid just got back from college, I
• 1:57:10
Speaker 2: just have to say, when he graduated, we went back
• 1:57:13
Speaker 2: to the lives we left behind the day he was born.
• 1:57:16
Speaker 2: He we bought a class A camper and we are
• 1:57:19
Speaker 2: rarely ever home. We are off traveling and living life.
• 1:57:22
Speaker 2: We shut everything off because even if he had five
• 1:57:25
Speaker 2: people move in with him, he wouldn't be able to
• 1:57:27
Speaker 2: afford it. Make your own life and decisions. You are
• 1:57:30
Speaker 2: your own person, So we'll end it there. So yeah,
• 1:57:36
Speaker 2: you kids, make your own life.
• 1:57:38
  Speaker 10: Forgot something forgot?
• 1:57:41
Speaker 2: We already taught it Danny, and he forgot one thing.
• 1:57:43
Speaker 2: Sorry forgot one thing, all right, quickly, Danny here you good.
• 1:57:47
Speaker 15: I forgot to mention one thing.
• 1:57:51
Speaker 5: This is actually for Evan the bone.
• 1:57:53
Speaker 8: I forgot to mention you mentioned the title of.
• 1:57:58
Speaker 26: His situation of an issue we could power can stick
• 1:58:01
Speaker 26: the tight ends. Like I said, I'm from the Tampa area.
• 1:58:04
  Speaker 5: Kden is available.
• 1:58:06
Speaker 26: He's a very durable tight end. He's not the greatest
• 1:58:09
Speaker 26: obviously catching the ball. So what you do if you're
• 1:58:12
Speaker 26: the Patriots, if I'm Elliott Wolf for Ryan conten you
• 1:58:15
Speaker 26: bring in Isaiah likely from the Ravens, and you bring
• 1:58:18
Speaker 26: in Kay Dog who is a freaking do it all
• 1:58:21
Speaker 26: type tight end. He was rated seventy in PFF grade
• 1:58:25
Speaker 26: for as a versatile tight end. And then you also
• 1:58:29
Speaker 26: take Caleb lou which is the Patriots are projected to
• 1:58:33
Speaker 26: take the draft kaylab of move he was a top tier.
• 1:58:36
Speaker 17: Plug and play guy.
• 1:58:38
Speaker 26: The the scouts are saying it from college football from Utah,
• 1:58:42
Speaker 26: So I would that's what I would doom, Elliot Wolf for.
• 1:58:44
  Speaker 2: Ryan taking notes.
• 1:58:48
Speaker 3: I watched him the other day Utah tackle.
• 1:58:50
Speaker 2: You did love right type down on that tall Yeah, tall,
• 1:59:00
Speaker 2: not bad? I pads Hi pad Remember Marcus Hill, Rest
• 1:59:06
Speaker 2: in peace, Marquise Marquis Hill. He had like the longest legs,
• 1:59:10
Speaker 2: so that when he was in his three point stance,
• 1:59:13
Speaker 2: he was like this, his bass was up here and
• 1:59:16
Speaker 2: his head was down there because his legs were so tall.
• 1:59:19
  Speaker 2: It was weird.
• 1:59:20
Speaker 3: I talked about to see Bass about this about Nate Solder,
• 1:59:23
Speaker 3: and he said that he actually thought Nate Solder was
• 1:59:25
Speaker 3: a little too tall.
• 1:59:27
Speaker 2: Yeah, because he was six s eight.
• 1:59:28
Speaker 3: Because he couldn't get down in his stance, and you know,
• 1:59:30
Speaker 3: his leverage was always a struggle that he was always
• 1:59:34
Speaker 3: fighting his height in a bad way.
• 1:59:37
  Speaker 9: Yeah.
• 1:59:37
Speaker 3: You know, most of the time you want the guys
• 1:59:38
Speaker 3: to be as big as possible.
• 1:59:39
Speaker 2: But all right, that's going to be it for this
• 1:59:43
Speaker 2: edition of Patriots Unfiltered. Everyone have a good weekend and
• 1:59:47
