Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken, it's your dose of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. Coming
- 0:06Speaker 1: up on today's show, Anna Paul reveals she no longer
- 0:10Speaker 1: feels safe in her current rental, Molly Mae is slammed
- 0:13Speaker 1: for booking a budget airline for her sister's hands, and
- 0:17Speaker 1: a micro-influencer's expose on a restaurant backfires on her. But first,
- 0:22Speaker 1: Anna McAvoy's destination wedding was thrown into chaos when a
- 0:26Speaker 1: sandstorm threatened to ground flights and interrupt her upcoming nuptials
- 0:30Speaker 1: to her fiancé, Michael Staples. Anna shared the news with
- 0:33Speaker 1: her TikTok followers while she and Michael were grounded on
- 0:36Speaker 1: the tarmac in Istanbul. Here's what she said. So we
- 0:41Speaker 1: are getting married in Corfu, Greece, in four days, and
- 0:45Speaker 1: there is a sand storm over the island of Corfu.
- 0:50Speaker 1: We are currently on the tarmac. We've been grounded.
- 0:54Speaker 2: From taking off, so.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Pray for us and pray for our guests that everyone
- 1:01Speaker 1: can get there because this was not planned and not
- 1:04Speaker 1: expected at all.
- 1:07Speaker 3: This seems to be a bit of a trend at
- 1:09Speaker 3: the moment with influencers and destination weddings. Recently, Rachel Dillon
- 1:13Speaker 3: actually had to move her wedding forward because of rain
- 1:16Speaker 3: in Italy. A bit of a first world problem for influencers,
- 1:19Speaker 3: but this would have been very stressful. I didn't realise
- 1:22Speaker 3: how chaotic a sandstorm actually is.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I googled it. And it turns the whole sky orange.
- 1:28Speaker 1: So it would have completely ruined their day. Also, it
- 1:30Speaker 1: would be really difficult for guests to actually be able
- 1:33Speaker 1: to land safely at the airport. Luckily, a day later,
- 1:37Speaker 1: Anna updated her followers to say that it was crisis
- 1:40Speaker 1: averted and that the storm had passed. She said the
- 1:42Speaker 1: sky was no longer orange, but it was still a
- 1:45Speaker 1: little bit cloudy there.
- 1:46Speaker 3: An orange sky actually sounds quite nice for sunset style photos.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm assuming they're more worried about flights not
- 1:52Speaker 1: being able to land. Yeah, well, luckily she did confirm
- 1:55Speaker 1: that it hadn't affected any of the guests traveling there,
- 1:58Speaker 1: which was such a relief because I have been hanging
- 2:01Speaker 1: out for Tammy and Matt's content in Greece. They always
- 2:04Speaker 1: seem to keep things entertaining for us whilst they're overseeing.
- 2:07Speaker 3: And you are referring to Tammy Hembrough and Anna's co-host,
- 2:10Speaker 3: Matt Zukowski. I was wondering how Anna felt about having
- 2:14Speaker 3: to invite Tammy because she has been posting a lot
- 2:17Speaker 3: of content while she's been in Corfu, almost overshadowing.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It a little bit. Well, I have seen that discussion
- 2:24Speaker 1: going on online because Tammy has been sharing a lot.
- 2:27Speaker 1: So she shared a TikTok at the airport showing that
- 2:30Speaker 1: she and Matt were traveling child-free online. And it did
- 2:32Speaker 1: make me laugh because Matt brought his Love Island suitcase
- 2:35Speaker 1: along with him on the trip.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Did he bring his drink bottle as well?
- 2:38Speaker 1: Not sure about the drink bottle. But when they were
- 2:41Speaker 1: at the couple's welcome dinner, because they had this fancy
- 2:44Speaker 1: welcome dinner on the beach. And there was this weird
- 2:47Speaker 1: photo of Tammy and Matt kissing and Anna and her
- 2:51Speaker 1: fiance kissing. So they were both in the same photo.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And she captioned it, love is in the air. It
- 2:57Speaker 1: kind of felt like a bit me, me, me, like
- 2:59Speaker 1: we're getting married next. This is all about us.
- 3:03Speaker 3: It kind of reminded me on Friends when Monica and
- 3:05Speaker 3: Phoebe were competing over who the hottest couple was.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Like that was the vibe.
- 3:10Speaker 1: You really got from the photo. Yeah, but I don't
- 3:11Speaker 1: know if she was necessarily doing that. I think it's
- 3:13Speaker 1: more so because they are part of this podcast that
- 3:15Speaker 1: talks about love and relationship. It's kind of like they're
- 3:17Speaker 1: showing off that they've both now got these successful relationships. Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: but I mean I don't know about you, but I've
- 3:23Speaker 1: never had friends who– Say, oh, let's take a photo
- 3:26Speaker 1: of both of us kissing. No, I think the event
- 3:29Speaker 1: is about Anna and her partner, not about Tammy and Matt.
- 3:32Speaker 1: And while Tammy probably isn't trying to make it about herself,
- 3:36Speaker 1: because she has millions and millions of followers on social media,
- 3:40Speaker 1: people are going to be focusing on her. But if
- 3:42Speaker 1: Tammy didn't share anything while she was over there, she'd
- 3:44Speaker 1: probably get slammed. Yeah, but she could share vision or
- 3:47Speaker 1: photos of Anna and Michael.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's going to bomb on her own social
- 3:50Speaker 2: media account.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's her Instagram story. Yeah, but no one cares about them.
- 3:54Speaker 1: They care about Tammy.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I actually get the vibe that Anna's scared about what
- 3:57Speaker 3: Tammy is going to share to her millions of followers
- 4:00Speaker 3: because Matt and Anna on the most recent episode of
- 4:03Speaker 3: their podcast had a conversation about the etiquette around what
- 4:07Speaker 3: can and can't be shared before the bride puts up
- 4:10Speaker 3: her post.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that was really interesting. Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 3: So Anna basically said that no one is allowed to
- 4:15Speaker 3: share anything about her wedding until she posts. And that
- 4:18Speaker 3: includes the location, you know, details of the event, anything.
- 4:22Speaker 2: I think the.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Reason that everyone is building up this rivalry between the
- 4:25Speaker 1: two couples is because Matt previously said on his podcast
- 4:29Speaker 1: that he was considering proposing to Tammy whilst on Anna's
- 4:33Speaker 1: wedding trip, but he opted instead to do it in
- 4:35Speaker 1: the Maldives last year. And I think that's why everyone
- 4:39Speaker 1: is feeling a bit uncomfortable and thinking, please don't take
- 4:41Speaker 1: their moment away from them, particularly when Tammy and Matt
- 4:43Speaker 1: have only been together for such a short period of time.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Now, Anna did drop a bit of a bomb on
- 4:48Speaker 3: the most recent episode of her and Matt's podcast, She
- 4:52Speaker 3: revealed that she actually got married before she left for
- 4:55Speaker 3: Corfu in a registry office. And the reason she did
- 4:58Speaker 3: that was because she has an uneven amount of bridesmaids
- 5:02Speaker 3: and groomsmen. So she has an extra groomsman and she
- 5:04Speaker 3: was worried that the Feng Shui of the ceremony was
- 5:07Speaker 3: going to be thrown off. So she has asked one
- 5:10Speaker 3: of the groomsmen to be a celebrant. However, they're not
- 5:13Speaker 3: actually officiated. So that's why she had to get married
- 5:16Speaker 3: in Australia beforehand.
- 5:17Speaker 1: That sounds all very odd though. I mean, wouldn't you
- 5:20Speaker 1: just think maybe I'll add an extra bridesmaid instead of
- 5:22Speaker 1: making them the celebrant? Also, does it really matter? Like
- 5:26Speaker 1: does it really matter that much that it's an odd number?
- 5:29Speaker 2: It's a personal decision.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I felt so uncomfortable listening to this podcast though because
- 5:34Speaker 3: Matt asked Anna about what it was like consummating.
- 5:38Speaker 2: The registry office marriage.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:40Speaker 2: And he seemed very interested.
- 5:42Speaker 3: In the lingerie that Anna had purchased from for her honeymoon.
- 5:46Speaker 3: And I'm just thinking, oh, I just got a really
- 5:48Speaker 3: slimy vibe off the whole conversation.
- 5:51Speaker 1: It was like his mouth was drooling when he asked
- 5:53Speaker 1: her that question. Maybe he thinks he's asking what everyone
- 5:56Speaker 1: wants to know that's listening.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Nah, it was beyond that.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Was it just me or was it really frustrating that
- 6:01Speaker 3: he couldn't seem to understand the difference between a registry
- 6:04Speaker 3: wedding and an elopement?
- 6:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he kept calling it a runaway wedding. And she's like, no,
- 6:09Speaker 1: it's not a runaway. It's just that we had to
- 6:11Speaker 1: do it at a registry office so that it would
- 6:13Speaker 1: be legally binding.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And he also came across as really immature talking about
- 6:17Speaker 3: weddings because Anna was saying how, oh, I feel so
- 6:20Speaker 3: old because a lot of my friends aren't married.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And he was like, oh, yeah. And it's like, you're engaged, buddy.
- 6:26Speaker 2: You know what you're not doing?
- 6:27Speaker 4: You're not treating yourself like a baby when you should be.
- 6:30Speaker 4: When you're sad, when you're going through something, you need
- 6:32Speaker 4: to treat yourself like the five-year-old version of you.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Anna Paul has revealed she's moving house at the end
- 6:38Speaker 3: of the month because she no longer feels safe in
- 6:41Speaker 3: her current rental. Despite living in a gated community, the
- 6:45Speaker 3: OnlyFans creator still experiences people within the community taking photos
- 6:49Speaker 3: of her house, knocking on her door and asking for
- 6:52Speaker 3: pictures in the driveway. So a follower actually messaged Anna
- 6:56Speaker 3: suggesting that she moved to an acreage. But Anna replied,
- 6:59Speaker 3: I get followed on my way home though. People only
- 7:02Speaker 3: turn around at the community gate when they can't get in.
- 7:05Speaker 3: I'd be scared on an acreage that they can just
- 7:07Speaker 3: drive up into my driveway.
- 7:09Speaker 1: It's crazy to think that some influencers have this level
- 7:11Speaker 1: of fame where they're being followed to their houses and
- 7:14Speaker 1: people are knocking on their doors, asking for photos. I'm
- 7:17Speaker 1: not particularly surprised in the case of Anna Paul though,
- 7:20Speaker 1: that people are easily able to find her because she
- 7:23Speaker 1: does post her white car online all of the time.
- 7:26Speaker 1: She also encourages people to use whiteboard markers and ride
- 7:30Speaker 1: on her car. Yeah, but it doesn't give people the
- 7:32Speaker 1: right to then go and follow her to her house. No,
- 7:35Speaker 1: definitely not. I think what's scary in this instance is
- 7:37Speaker 1: that a lot of people would view Anna as their
- 7:40Speaker 1: friend because they keep up with what she's doing every
- 7:42Speaker 1: single day with her vlogs. And it obviously is creating
- 7:46Speaker 1: this really weird parasocial relationship with her and her fans.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I have noticed her daily vlogs have dropped off quite
- 7:52Speaker 3: a bit. So I'm wondering if this is a contributor because.
- 7:55Speaker 2: We.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Saw back in 2016 when Kim Kardashian was robbed in
- 7:59Speaker 3: Paris how that completely changed the way she posted online.
- 8:03Speaker 3: She no longer wanted to post live updates. And influencers
- 8:07Speaker 3: probably do need to consider what they're posting live and
- 8:10Speaker 3: what they choose to then air later on for their
- 8:13Speaker 3: own safety.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It'd be particularly tough for Anna because her persona online
- 8:18Speaker 1: is that she's very kind, she's friendly to fans, she's
- 8:21Speaker 1: bubbly all the time. But you don't want to have
- 8:23Speaker 1: to act like that every time someone knocks on your
- 8:26Speaker 1: door and invades your privacy.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Particularly in a gated community. Another big motivator for this
- 8:32Speaker 3: move is the need for more space. So currently Anna's
- 8:35Speaker 3: iconic green BMW doesn't actually fit in the garage at
- 8:38Speaker 3: the rental and it's in storage. So Anna said her
- 8:41Speaker 3: new house will have a big garage and she'll be
- 8:43Speaker 3: able to store her cars all there. I've also seen
- 8:46Speaker 3: on her TikTok that her clothes don't fit in the wardrobe.
- 8:49Speaker 3: So she and her family have just been leaving them
- 8:52Speaker 3: to pile up in the laundry room.
- 8:53Speaker 1: I'm surprised she hasn't actually bought her own house, but
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'm now wondering if she purposely hasn't bought a property
- 8:59Speaker 1: because of this issue of people seemingly finding out where
- 9:02Speaker 1: she lives.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I would assume she would own some investment properties, but
- 9:05Speaker 3: because of the lifestyle that she leads, she is overseas
- 9:08Speaker 3: a lot. So maybe rentals just work better for her.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Especially having Addis, you know, back in 2020, he was
- 9:14Speaker 1: one of those finance bros handing out advice. Surely he
- 9:17Speaker 1: would have given her the advice to invest in property. Well,
- 9:20Speaker 1: Anna has also opened up about her weight loss. So
- 9:23Speaker 1: In a Snapchat Q & A, which I think is
- 9:25Speaker 1: interesting in itself that she's posting on Snapchat, she admitted
- 9:28Speaker 1: that she was struggling and not in a good place.
- 9:31Speaker 2: For a while.
- 9:31Speaker 3: So she said that she lost her period for eight
- 9:34Speaker 3: months and was so, so, so skinny and so malnourished
- 9:37Speaker 3: because of stress and sadness. She wrote, it happened so fast,
- 9:41Speaker 3: I didn't even recognize myself. My boobs completely deflated and
- 9:45Speaker 3: were just loose skin and none of my clothes fit
- 9:47Speaker 3: me anymore. The internet still comments ozempic on my photos
- 9:50Speaker 3: and videos but this is just what stress can do
- 9:53Speaker 3: to you. Fortunately it does appear like Anna has turned
- 9:56Speaker 3: a corner. She said that she's eating right and is
- 9:59Speaker 3: happy and no longer stressed. She also said that she's
- 10:01Speaker 3: getting stronger and stronger and goes to the gym four
- 10:04Speaker 3: to five times a week.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And this weight loss coincided with her breakup with Glenn Thompson.
- 10:09Speaker 1: It is something that does happen to you or a
- 10:11Speaker 1: lot of people when they go through a breakup. I
- 10:13Speaker 1: know when I went through a breakup without even trying to,
- 10:16Speaker 1: I lost so much weight because I was just so upset,
- 10:18Speaker 1: so stressed about the situation. But it is hard as
- 10:20Speaker 1: well when you see somebody that's in the public eye
- 10:23Speaker 1: suddenly losing all of this weight because I saw a
- 10:25Speaker 1: photo that she recently shared And I noticed that the
- 10:28Speaker 1: comments were off and I assumed it was because everyone
- 10:31Speaker 1: was commenting ozempic, but it is where your mind first
- 10:34Speaker 1: goes when somebody loses weight so rapidly.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Particularly because she and Glenn really pushed this narrative that
- 10:41Speaker 3: the breakup was so amicable and that they were both
- 10:43Speaker 3: really happy. But clearly behind the scenes, that has not
- 10:46Speaker 3: been the case. Anna also did open up recently about
- 10:50Speaker 3: breakup advice. So one of her followers asked how she
- 10:53Speaker 3: got through her breakup with Glenn and she said that,
- 10:56Speaker 3: you need to treat yourself like an actual baby. So
- 11:00Speaker 3: she said, treat yourself like you're five years old and
- 11:02Speaker 3: someone was mean to you at school.
- 11:05Speaker 1: So she suggested talking to yourself like a child and
- 11:08Speaker 1: acting like it's your only job to make your five-year-old
- 11:11Speaker 1: self feel good.
- 11:12Speaker 3: So she said, you know, maybe you like iced coffee,
- 11:14Speaker 3: go get yourself an iced coffee. And she said the
- 11:17Speaker 3: rationale behind it is that your five-year-old self, and she
- 11:21Speaker 3: said the rationale behind it is that your five-year-old self
- 11:24Speaker 3: is still in you and hurting.
- 11:26Speaker 2: That's kind of good advice.
- 11:27Speaker 1: I remember Kate back in the day when you were
- 11:29Speaker 1: having issues in your past relationship, when you were upset,
- 11:31Speaker 1: you said that you used to just lie in bed
- 11:33Speaker 1: and pretend you were a phone charging, like recharging your batteries.
- 11:36Speaker 1: So I suppose maybe that was before all of this
- 11:39Speaker 1: meditation stuff. That was my own meditation because it did
- 11:42Speaker 1: really help because sometimes you just don't want to face
- 11:45Speaker 1: the emotions that you're feeling. So you're like, I'm currently
- 11:47Speaker 1: switched off and I'm charging.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I'm on airplane mode.
- 11:52Speaker 4: I am so excited for this vlog because as you've
- 11:55Speaker 4: seen from the title, this is going to be Zoe's
- 11:59Speaker 4: hen do vlog. So if you don't know who Zoe is,
- 12:01Speaker 4: which I think a lot of you probably will, Zoe.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Is my sister. Molly May has thrown an epic hen's
- 12:08Speaker 1: weekend for her sister Zoe Haig in Ibiza. Tongues were
- 12:11Speaker 1: wagging as the former Love Island contestant used the trip
- 12:15Speaker 1: as an opportunity to post a ton of thirst traps
- 12:18Speaker 1: as she dodges breakup rumours. Now, Soph, this weekend kicked
- 12:21Speaker 1: off with some fans being outraged at Molly's choice of transport. Yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 1: fans seem to think it was a bit cheeky of
- 12:27Speaker 1: Molly to book a budget airline for her sister's hen's weekend.
- 12:31Speaker 2: When you say budget, it was Ryanair.
- 12:33Speaker 3: That would be like, some influencer in Australia booking a
- 12:37Speaker 3: tiger flight. I know that they're defunct now, but that
- 12:40Speaker 3: is the level of transportation.
- 12:42Speaker 1: But am I wrong? Wouldn't the other guests be paying
- 12:44Speaker 1: for the airfare? So wouldn't it have been a bit
- 12:46Speaker 1: rich of Molly if she'd booked in a private jet
- 12:48Speaker 1: and forced everyone to pay the fees? The thing is,
- 12:50Speaker 1: Molly is the maid of honor. So she has planned
- 12:52Speaker 1: the whole weekend and I guess she probably has funded
- 12:56Speaker 1: a lot of it as well because she earns so
- 12:57Speaker 1: much money. She did share a photo on Instagram showing
- 13:01Speaker 1: the group on the tarmac getting ready to board the
- 13:03Speaker 1: Ryanair flight. And this led to followers weighing in. One wrote,
- 13:08Speaker 1: love you, Molly, but your friend gets a private jet
- 13:10Speaker 1: for her B-day, but your sister doesn't for her hens.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I'd be raging. Whilst another said, it makes me giggle
- 13:16Speaker 1: that Molly got a jet for her mate's birthday, but
- 13:18Speaker 1: Ryanair for her sister's hens.
- 13:20Speaker 3: That is the thing that I thought immediately as well,
- 13:23Speaker 3: because I loved watching the recent vlogs where Molly took
- 13:26Speaker 3: her friends to this beautiful ski.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Town and they were on a private jet. Zoe was there.
- 13:32Speaker 3: And I was expecting when Molly started sharing behind the
- 13:34Speaker 3: scenes of this hens that they would be walking onto.
- 13:37Speaker 2: A private jet.
- 13:37Speaker 1: So I was flabbergasted when it was Ryanair. But she
- 13:40Speaker 1: probably copped so much criticism for taking her friends on
- 13:44Speaker 1: that private jet that they thought, fuck, we don't really
- 13:46Speaker 1: want to be dealing with all this backlash when it's
- 13:48Speaker 1: Zoe's hens. Let's just go Ryanair.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Not just for the most recent time on the jet,
- 13:54Speaker 1: but in the past she has copped so much criticism
- 13:57Speaker 1: with fans asking her to think about her carbon footprint
- 14:00Speaker 1: or saying that she is flaunting her wealth so it
- 14:03Speaker 1: wouldn't have been a good look to back it up
- 14:05Speaker 1: again it is interesting though that this strategy of oh
- 14:09Speaker 1: let's just go on a normal budget airline seems to
- 14:11Speaker 1: have backfired it's like you can't win yeah no but
- 14:14Speaker 1: I do think it has something to do with the
- 14:15Speaker 1: fact that a lot of Molly's followers also follow Zoe
- 14:20Speaker 1: and I think that people have a soft spot for
- 14:21Speaker 1: Zoe because she seems sort of like the more normal
- 14:24Speaker 1: Molly May like she doesn't live in this huge mansion
- 14:27Speaker 1: and she's a bit more of a normal person. So
- 14:29Speaker 1: I think they feel like she's been shortchanged. Well, the
- 14:32Speaker 1: funny thing about these hens is it was the furthest
- 14:34Speaker 1: from a budget hens that you can get. She pulled
- 14:37Speaker 1: out all of the stops to ensure that her sister
- 14:40Speaker 1: was absolutely spoiled. So the group checked into a luxurious
- 14:44Speaker 1: villa where Molly had arranged for the pool to be
- 14:47Speaker 1: filled with heart-shaped inflatable rings. And she also organized these
- 14:51Speaker 1: really cute hangover packs. So they had rehydration sachets in
- 14:55Speaker 1: them as well as a beauty bag. And they also
- 14:57Speaker 1: went on a very lavish boat trip, as well as
- 15:01Speaker 1: partied in the VIP section of a number of different nightclubs.
- 15:04Speaker 1: So Molly really did go above and beyond to make
- 15:07Speaker 1: this a special weekend for her sister. Molly must have
- 15:10Speaker 1: spent a fortune on this trip because she did have
- 15:12Speaker 1: her security team fly.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Over with her as well.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it's clear that she didn't want anything to ruin
- 15:17Speaker 3: this trip. She has had to have security follow her
- 15:20Speaker 3: around ever since her and Tommy's apartment got.
- 15:22Speaker 2: Robbed a couple of years ago.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Maybe she was also scared to be away on this
- 15:27Speaker 3: girl's trip without Tommy.
- 15:28Speaker 1: There, especially if they're drinking and partying. Now, this trip
- 15:31Speaker 1: has come off the back of persistent rumors for weeks
- 15:35Speaker 1: now that Tommy and Molly have split up. So Tommy
- 15:38Speaker 1: and Molly, they have been together since 2019 when they
- 15:41Speaker 1: came second on Love Island and they got engaged last
- 15:44Speaker 1: year and also share a daughter together. So the breakup
- 15:47Speaker 1: rumors were sparked on May 5th. when Molly posted a
- 15:51Speaker 1: selfie without her $ 600, 000 diamond engagement ring on. And following that,
- 15:57Speaker 1: her ring was also missing in subsequent stories. It wasn't
- 16:01Speaker 1: as though she was trying to hide her hand though,
- 16:03Speaker 1: because she shared a close-up of her hand wearing two
- 16:06Speaker 1: other rings. So a ring on her index finger and
- 16:09Speaker 1: a middle finger ring to show off her fresh nails.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah, but everyone's always trying to spot if she's wearing
- 16:14Speaker 3: this ring. I actually think it comes down to the
- 16:16Speaker 3: fact that the ring is obnoxiously big and would be
- 16:19Speaker 3: so uncomfortable to wear and perhaps probably not safe for
- 16:23Speaker 3: her to wear out in public considering it costs so
- 16:25Speaker 3: much money and she could be robbed.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Well, people found it weird because Tommy was 3,000 miles
- 16:31Speaker 1: away in Dubai. He was there because his brother Tyson
- 16:34Speaker 1: is fighting in a boxing match.
- 16:36Speaker 3: I love how you're like, oh, just some boxing match.
- 16:38Speaker 3: Tyson Fury was competing there. for the title of heavyweight
- 16:41Speaker 3: world champion.
- 16:43Speaker 2: He did lose it as well.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't care about that. We just want to
- 16:46Speaker 1: hear the gossip. There are other reasons though, that people
- 16:49Speaker 1: think a breakup has happened. One is because it was
- 16:52Speaker 1: recently Tommy's 25th birthday. And usually Molly would post a
- 16:56Speaker 1: very gushing post on Instagram and She'd share some elaborate
- 17:00Speaker 1: balloon installation that she'd pay people to set up. But
- 17:03Speaker 1: this year, didn't post anything.
- 17:05Speaker 2: How is he only 25?
- 17:06Speaker 3: I know. It's crazy.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Well, she also didn't publicly congratulate Tommy for landing a
- 17:11Speaker 1: role in an upcoming comedy movie. So this is what
- 17:14Speaker 1: has sparked a lot of speculation. And what has pushed
- 17:17Speaker 1: it further is the fact that Molly May was posting
- 17:21Speaker 1: a ton of thirst traps at this hen's party. She
- 17:24Speaker 1: looked incredible. She has spoken about before that she doesn't
- 17:27Speaker 1: usually feel comfortable wearing bikinis, but on this trip, she
- 17:31Speaker 1: lived in bikinis. There's a shot of her in a
- 17:33Speaker 1: cowboy hat with a black bikini on. Oh my God.
- 17:36Speaker 2: She looked insane.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Don't you think this is a part of brand deals though?
- 17:40Speaker 3: Like she's obviously been dressed to go on this trip
- 17:42Speaker 3: and has to take photos of what she's wearing. I
- 17:44Speaker 3: also think it might coincide with the fact that she,
- 17:47Speaker 3: I think she hired a personal trainer about six months
- 17:50Speaker 3: ago and maybe she's finally feeling confident.
- 17:52Speaker 2: In her own body.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, the catch is in these photos, she is
- 17:56Speaker 1: wearing her very large engagement ring. And once she got
- 17:59Speaker 1: back to the UK and she squashed the rumors completely
- 18:02Speaker 1: by sharing a photo of Tommy with a little white
- 18:05Speaker 1: love heart and a house emoji. So I am relieved.
- 18:09Speaker 1: They are my favorite influencer couple. Thank God they are
- 18:11Speaker 1: not on the rocks. Yeah.
- 18:13Speaker 2: It's just a trend.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Every time she's spotted without her engagement ring on, people
- 18:16Speaker 3: are going to write these rumors because at the end
- 18:19Speaker 3: of the day, people actually don't want them to be together.
- 18:23Speaker 3: I think there's quite a lot of jealousy about this
- 18:25Speaker 3: relationship and It's just clickbait as well. Yeah, people don't
- 18:29Speaker 3: want to believe it's as good as they make out
- 18:31Speaker 3: it to be.
- 18:31Speaker 4: This is a PSA for all creators who work with food, travel, lifestyle, blah, blah, blah.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I received the most horrible message yesterday from a restaurant
- 18:39Speaker 4: wanting to work with them and I need to make
- 18:41Speaker 4: you aware so you guys never work with them and
- 18:42Speaker 4: know your standards.
- 18:44Speaker 3: A micro-influencer's attempt to expose a restaurant for apparent rude
- 18:49Speaker 3: and unprofessional behaviour has backfired. Jamison May, who promotes herself
- 18:54Speaker 3: as a travel, lifestyle, fashion and food creator, reached out
- 18:58Speaker 3: to Melbourne vegetarian restaurant Patsy's regarding a collaboration.
- 19:02Speaker 2: She was left fuming.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Though when the restaurant replied saying, you don't seem to
- 19:06Speaker 3: have any followers. Maybe you should approach us when you
- 19:09Speaker 3: have over 100K. How many followers does she have? So
- 19:13Speaker 3: she has a main Instagram account where she posts fashion
- 19:16Speaker 3: content and on that account she has 15,000. However, she
- 19:20Speaker 3: posts her food and travel content on a separate account
- 19:24Speaker 3: which only has 1.1 thousand followers.
- 19:25Speaker 1: That's alarm bells for me. Why are you having to
- 19:28Speaker 1: have two separate Instagram accounts? Yeah, well, I can see
- 19:30Speaker 1: why the restaurant told her to go get more followers. Now,
- 19:33Speaker 1: Jamison replied writing, sorry, but that is extremely rude. And
- 19:37Speaker 1: the restaurant hit back with this, perhaps, but you are
- 19:41Speaker 1: pretending to be influential on social media and that's not true.
- 19:45Speaker 1: And rather than me saying that you are lying and
- 19:47Speaker 1: pretending to be beneficial to our business, I just said,
- 19:49Speaker 1: come back when you're actually able to do what you
- 19:52Speaker 1: think we should engage you to do. Is it rude
- 19:54Speaker 1: to question something that's obviously not true? Now you can
- 19:57Speaker 1: tell in.
- 19:57Speaker 3: The screenshot that Jamison then blocked the restaurant.
- 20:01Speaker 1: This restaurant owner is 100% correct. If you are approaching
- 20:06Speaker 1: a restaurant and you don't have a large following, but
- 20:09Speaker 1: you're giving it the big end that you're going to
- 20:11Speaker 1: benefit their restaurant highly by promoting their food, that is
- 20:15Speaker 1: a flat out lie. So why can't they call it
- 20:18Speaker 1: out and say, sorry, you actually don't have the metrics
- 20:20Speaker 1: for us to have you in for a free meal
- 20:22Speaker 1: or for to pay you to eat here. The nerve
- 20:24Speaker 1: of her to actually ask as well with that kind
- 20:27Speaker 1: of follower count. Yeah.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Well, rather than taking the feedback on board, Jamison took
- 20:32Speaker 3: to her TikTok to blast the restaurant.
- 20:34Speaker 2: In an almost three minute rant.
- 20:36Speaker 3: So she framed it as a PSA to other content creators,
- 20:40Speaker 3: but it was quite clear she was just trying to
- 20:41Speaker 3: name and shame the restaurant. So Jamison explained that she
- 20:44Speaker 3: sent her usual template to Patsy's but personalized it to
- 20:48Speaker 3: tell them what she thinks they're missing and what she
- 20:50Speaker 3: can do for them.
- 20:51Speaker 2: She then said this.
- 20:53Speaker 4: And I'm absolutely gobsmacked. I had no words. I was
- 20:58Speaker 4: actually like disgusted that someone could say that to another person.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Like this is clearly someone not in marketing. They don't
- 21:04Speaker 4: understand literally anything.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Now, Jamison went on to say that for Yonks, the
- 21:10Speaker 3: follower count does not matter and it's all about your
- 21:13Speaker 3: audience engagement and reach. She then said, my engagement and reach,
- 21:16Speaker 3: considering I have a small follower count, is really, really good.
- 21:20Speaker 1: She didn't actually cite her engagement and reach stats. So
- 21:23Speaker 1: I would have thought that if they were so good,
- 21:26Speaker 1: you would say what they are. Yeah, but also when
- 21:28Speaker 1: you have a lower follower count, your engagement is always
- 21:31Speaker 1: going to be better. She's probably got a lot of
- 21:33Speaker 1: family and friends that are part of her follower count
- 21:36Speaker 1: that are liking all of her posts and engaging with it. Yeah,
- 21:39Speaker 1: she also addressed the comment about lying about being influential
- 21:42Speaker 1: and said.
- 21:43Speaker 4: This, And then the second message where they tell me
- 21:46Speaker 4: I'm pretending to be influential. That's not the point. The
- 21:49Speaker 4: point is to get people to go through creating fun,
- 21:53Speaker 4: loving content. It's to like, yes, it's to influence them
- 21:56Speaker 4: to go. But that could pop up on the For
- 21:58Speaker 4: You page and get over a million views while I
- 21:59Speaker 4: have 300 followers. That's really not how it works. But
- 22:03Speaker 4: I was just disgusted in the way that they said it.
- 22:05Speaker 4: I think that's what actually pissed me off more.
- 22:09Speaker 1: She's clearly got this restaurant offside with her initial email
- 22:13Speaker 1: because she has said that she outlined to them the
- 22:16Speaker 1: things that they were doing wrong in marketing and how
- 22:18Speaker 1: they could improve. And it's like, well, they've come back
- 22:20Speaker 1: and said, well, maybe you're not marketing yourself that well
- 22:23Speaker 1: as an influencer considering you've got a thousand followers.
- 22:25Speaker 3: And also they must get so many emails like this.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I did have a look at Jamison's page and the
- 22:30Speaker 3: attention that she's gotten off the back of this story
- 22:33Speaker 3: seems to have skewed the views on her most recent
- 22:36Speaker 3: reel because it is sitting at 895,000 views. However, the
- 22:38Speaker 3: rest of her reels range from 500 views to.
- 22:43Speaker 2: To a couple of thousand.
- 22:44Speaker 3: And I went a step further and I looked Jamison's
- 22:47Speaker 3: account up on Social Blade, which is a social media
- 22:50Speaker 3: analysis website. And I can't view her engagement rate because
- 22:53Speaker 3: her likes are set to private. So if she has
- 22:56Speaker 3: such a good engagement rate, then why is she hiding
- 22:58Speaker 3: her likes?
- 22:58Speaker 1: Outrage culture is so rife at the moment and it's
- 23:02Speaker 1: actually making a lot of micro influences more popular. So
- 23:06Speaker 1: They are seizing the opportunity to be outraged about something.
- 23:10Speaker 1: As you said, Kate, it is skewing her engagement rate
- 23:12Speaker 1: at the moment. In actual fact, it's the restaurant who
- 23:16Speaker 1: should be outraged. Well, maybe they should have shared a
- 23:18Speaker 1: TikTok of their response to receiving her email. And their
- 23:21Speaker 1: TikTok would have blown up. I would have loved to
- 23:23Speaker 1: see that. Well, their response was pretty epic back. And
- 23:26Speaker 1: I think that's why the backlash has been so swift
- 23:29Speaker 1: against Jamison because she went out to name and shame them.
- 23:33Speaker 1: but it's her that's actually ended up being criticized on TikTok.
- 23:36Speaker 1: So she was labeled, entitled, and accused of trying to
- 23:39Speaker 1: get free stuff, so much so that she was actually
- 23:41Speaker 1: forced to turn the comments off on her original post. Now,
- 23:44Speaker 1: rather than taking, again, that feedback on board, she claimed
- 23:48Speaker 1: that it was just because her content reached the wrong
- 23:50Speaker 1: audience on TikTok. So she said it was served to
- 23:53Speaker 1: non-creators and influencers who didn't understand what was happening. Now,
- 23:57Speaker 1: in all due respect, we live in a social media world.
- 24:01Speaker 3: People understand the relationship between content.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Creators and brands.
- 24:04Speaker 3: So I think that she is really trying to make a.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Lot of excuses here.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Do you think in this instance, though, it will actually
- 24:11Speaker 1: help her social media career? Because a video blowing up
- 24:14Speaker 1: like that, she's obviously got some attention. It's ricocheted into
- 24:18Speaker 1: people then watching her most recent TikTok video as well. Well,
- 24:22Speaker 1: I did go over to her Instagram account and she
- 24:25Speaker 1: was excitedly sharing how a lot of traditional media outlets
- 24:28Speaker 1: had reached out for her for an interview. And at first,
- 24:32Speaker 1: I think she thought it was going to be really positive.
- 24:35Speaker 1: But once the story started coming out and it was
- 24:37Speaker 1: skewed negatively towards her, she's actually gone on a break
- 24:40Speaker 1: from social media. Now, the owners of Patsy's have come
- 24:44Speaker 1: out and said it was an obvious decision for them
- 24:46Speaker 1: not to work with Jamison given her follower profile. They
- 24:50Speaker 1: said her followers are not really people that we have
- 24:53Speaker 1: in the venue often and probably not the market that
- 24:55Speaker 1: we are looking to engage with. I think she was
- 24:58Speaker 1: just hoping to increase her visibility with.
- 25:00Speaker 2: These outraged posts.
- 25:01Speaker 3: It sort of has worked already, but I'm not sure
- 25:03Speaker 3: how it will be able to be monetized as marketing.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I tend to agree with them. I also think that
- 25:08Speaker 3: the PR is better for patsies because I look at
- 25:12Speaker 3: them and go, oh, I really liked that clap back.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Maybe I'll go there when I'm in Melbourne.
- 25:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 1: And you assume that anyone posting about the restaurant actually
- 25:19Speaker 1: genuinely likes it in the future and then just being
- 25:22Speaker 1: like going in for a free meal.
- 25:26Speaker 4: We're going to wake Stormia and get out of here
- 25:30Speaker 4: and show you guys her room.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Rise and shine.
- 25:35Speaker 3: Let's get into the highs and lows of the week.
- 25:38Speaker 2: I will kick us off.
- 25:39Speaker 3: My high is finding a dupe for MAC Studio Fix Foundation.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I love that foundation.
- 25:45Speaker 3: It is top tier. I've been using it ever since
- 25:48Speaker 3: I was 18. However, It is quite pricey. And when
- 25:52Speaker 3: I am just bumming around the house, maybe popping to
- 25:55Speaker 3: Coles and going for a dog walk, I want a
- 25:56Speaker 3: foundation that isn't going to cost me a lot. So
- 26:00Speaker 3: I did some Googling and I found that the Maybelline
- 26:03Speaker 3: Fit Me Foundation is apparently a good dupe, but I'm
- 26:06Speaker 3: always a little bit suspicious. Mark my words, it is
- 26:10Speaker 3: a great dupe. So I got the matte and poreless
- 26:13Speaker 3: version of the Fit Me Foundation. It's only $ 13 on
- 26:16Speaker 3: sale at the moment.
- 26:18Speaker 1: It is so good.
- 26:20Speaker 3: I would say Mac Studio Fix is better in terms
- 26:23Speaker 3: of durability.
- 26:24Speaker 2: You can wear it for longer, but it is a
- 26:26Speaker 2: great dupe for it.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Yeah, I got some and I was really impressed with it.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Now my low for the week is pregnancy sleep. I
- 26:33Speaker 3: am 35 weeks pregnant at the moment and sleep is
- 26:36Speaker 3: not easy. I need to get up and go to
- 26:38Speaker 3: the toilet all the time. When you are pregnant, you
- 26:41Speaker 3: can't lie on your back or obviously your stomach. And
- 26:44Speaker 3: I love lying on my stomach. So I'm having to
- 26:46Speaker 3: lie on my side and I saw this hilarious TikTok
- 26:49Speaker 3: that I could not relate to more. It said that
- 26:51Speaker 3: when you're pregnant, it feels like you're a hot dog
- 26:54Speaker 3: on one of those rotation heaters in America where you're
- 26:57Speaker 3: just going back and forth.
- 26:59Speaker 2: It is so true.
- 27:00Speaker 3: However, what is making me feel slightly better is TikTok.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Is telling me that apparently.
- 27:05Speaker 3: Pregnancy sleep is worse than sleep with a newborn. So
- 27:09Speaker 3: that might sound delusional.
- 27:12Speaker 1: We'll revisit this in a few weeks time.
- 27:15Speaker 3: I'm a little bit worried, but I'm hoping that is true.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Do you regret not buying the pregnancy pillow now?
- 27:21Speaker 3: No, I've been pushing through with my Squishmallow Simon.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Do you also regret not buying maternity clothes? I actually
- 27:28Speaker 1: purchased two NBA jumpers from Cotton On that I will
- 27:32Speaker 1: be wearing no doubt a lot in our videos coming up. But, yes, Amy,
- 27:36Speaker 1: you did tell me how terrible I looked the other
- 27:38Speaker 1: day in my jumper that I have been thrashing because
- 27:40Speaker 1: it's literally– Well, it's all your tights that look uncomfortable
- 27:44Speaker 1: at this stage of pregnancy.
- 27:45Speaker 2: My tights are actually fine.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I just couldn't stand it. I'd need some sort of–
- 27:48Speaker 1: I'd need maternity jeans and a maternity pair of tracksuit
- 27:52Speaker 1: pants or pajamas.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Mark my words, you do not want to be wearing
- 27:56Speaker 3: jeans when you're 35 weeks pregnant.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but if you're going out to a restaurant or something,
- 28:00Speaker 1: you feel like you just suck it up and just
- 28:03Speaker 1: put the big uncomfortable potato jeans on.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Again, once you're pregnant, we'll see how you feel about it.
- 28:08Speaker 1: My low of the week is also sleep related, but
- 28:11Speaker 1: it's that I'm such a night owl and I just
- 28:13Speaker 1: can't switch off at nighttime. Like I hop into bed.
- 28:16Speaker 1: And I'm just on my phone scrolling. Well, that's the
- 28:19Speaker 1: worst thing. It's the worst. I should put my phone down.
- 28:21Speaker 1: And then it just makes me not feel motivated in
- 28:24Speaker 1: the morning. And it's so cold at the moment. I
- 28:26Speaker 1: would like to be in a better routine. I think
- 28:28Speaker 1: you need to put your phone away maybe an hour
- 28:31Speaker 1: before you go to bed. I need to lock it away.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Some people have like a cabinet that they actually physically lock.
- 28:36Speaker 3: See, the other day we were talking about eating in
- 28:39Speaker 3: the shower and my mother-in-law listened to the episode and
- 28:41Speaker 3: she goes to me, how do you actually go on
- 28:44Speaker 3: your phone in the shower? And I'm like, fuck, I
- 28:46Speaker 3: forget people I know listen to it. And I'm like, oh,
- 28:48Speaker 3: I don't stand under the water.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very easy.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Well, my high of the week, it's a bit of
- 28:54Speaker 1: a mundane one, but basically touching on in-laws. My in-laws
- 28:59Speaker 1: have been renovating our house at the moment with my partner.
- 29:03Speaker 1: I need to hire them out. Like you guys are
- 29:04Speaker 1: wanting me to hire them out. They're doing the most
- 29:05Speaker 1: incredible job. They built a little shelf the other day. Well,
- 29:10Speaker 1: they put shelving in. Yeah, they put shelving in. And
- 29:13Speaker 1: I'm so excited because I got my wedding photos back
- 29:15Speaker 1: this week. And my high of the week is that
- 29:18Speaker 1: I'm going to get them printed and feel like I'm
- 29:20Speaker 1: in a real adult house.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Because I've been in- Put them on the shelf?
- 29:23Speaker 4: Well, yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 1: So I'm going to put them on the shelf. And
- 29:26Speaker 1: I just feel like I've been in rentals for so
- 29:28Speaker 1: many years that don't have that personal touch. And now
- 29:30Speaker 1: that I've lucky enough to have bought my own home,
- 29:32Speaker 1: I'm just excited to actually put those personal bits in there. Yeah.
- 29:36Speaker 1: That is really exciting. My high of the week would
- 29:39Speaker 1: be discovering the the Osbournes podcast. It's so good. I mean,
- 29:43Speaker 1: if you're easily offended, maybe don't listen to it, but
- 29:45Speaker 1: far out. It just took me back to watching their
- 29:48Speaker 1: show back in 2001. And it's made me want to
- 29:51Speaker 1: go and seek it out on YouTube. Apparently they are
- 29:54Speaker 1: recording at the moment sort of like a Gogglebox style
- 29:57Speaker 1: show where they do watch it back. And if you
- 29:59Speaker 1: subscribe to, I.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Think it's called Osborne Media House, then you're able to
- 30:03Speaker 2: see the episodes.
- 30:04Speaker 1: But, oh, my God, they are hilarious together. Well, it's
- 30:07Speaker 1: sort of a– it's touted as a comedy podcast. Yeah.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Jack Osborne has really grown up and he and Kelly,
- 30:14Speaker 1: so they're brother and sister, they– like even though they've
- 30:17Speaker 1: grown up, I love the fact that their sense of
- 30:20Speaker 1: humour hasn't changed.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Well, I just love it.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Petty they are like remember there was an iconic episode
- 30:24Speaker 1: where they had this argument with the neighbors and they
- 30:26Speaker 1: threw ham over the fence I thought you were gonna
- 30:28Speaker 1: say when they were debating whether it was he said
- 30:30Speaker 1: stick or dick no no because they had Sharon on
- 30:34Speaker 1: and she was telling a story about how they had
- 30:36Speaker 1: well she had this disagreement with this movie company who
- 30:39Speaker 1: were coming to film in the street and they just
- 30:42Speaker 1: sounded exactly the same as they were in 2001 just
- 30:45Speaker 1: having these like petty issues with everybody my low would be.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Just how cold and dark it's now getting.
- 30:52Speaker 1: And I love to go for a walk after work,
- 30:55Speaker 1: but it seems to be getting so dark so quickly.

- 31:00Speaker 1: safe to walk around in the dark. And I've been
- 31:02Speaker 1: having this discussion with my partner and I'm just saying like,
- 31:05Speaker 1: you know, for instance, he can go and jog around
- 31:08Speaker 1: the block when it's pitch black. But for me, I
- 31:11Speaker 1: would feel so unsafe and actually- Well, you would be unsafe. Yeah,
- 31:14Speaker 1: I would. And a friend of ours, Sarah, she put
- 31:16Speaker 1: it so well. She said she was trying to explain
- 31:18Speaker 1: to her partner how you feel as a woman walking
- 31:20Speaker 1: in the dark. And she said, it's like you've taken
- 31:23Speaker 1: out all of your, all the money in the bank
- 31:25Speaker 1: that you own and you're literally out in public walking
- 31:28Speaker 1: around with it. Yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 3: I don't think men will ever fully comprehend what it
- 31:33Speaker 3: is like Now, that is where we're going to leave
- 31:35Speaker 3: things today.
