- 0:33What's going on, everybody?
- 0:35Welcome to Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 0:37It is Monday.
- 0:39We are back to work.
- 0:40I already need the break.
- 0:43As I told you guys,
- 0:48as I told you guys last week,
- 0:51one of my coworkers has
- 0:54been removed from our unit,
- 0:56so got in this morning,
- 0:57had one-on-one with my boss,
- 0:59got a lot going on.
- 1:01Man,
- 1:01it's been just a wild couple weeks for
- 1:02me.
- 1:06But you're digging through the stuff,
- 1:09you know, like Sunday night,
- 1:10we had a great show last night,
- 1:12lots of buzz.
- 1:15But when you're creating the rundown,
- 1:16it's really,
- 1:17really hard to find topics to
- 1:20talk about in this like dead period of,
- 1:24from about a week ago to the
- 1:26games it's just kind of
- 1:28everybody's in their
- 1:29foxhole they're doing their
- 1:30things they're training
- 1:32they're getting ready for
- 1:33the games and just not a
- 1:34lot of stuff is like
- 1:36popping out there right and
- 1:39so like trying to be
- 1:40creative with fact or
- 1:41fiction coming up with just
- 1:43scenarios to talk about
- 1:45things like that um
- 1:50But yeah, so,
- 1:52and then you come in Monday
- 1:53morning and I'm like, well,
- 1:55what am I going to talk about today?
- 1:57I have a list of some things
- 1:58I kind of jotted down.
- 2:00And then, fifteen minutes before the show,
- 2:04we're hit with the breaking news,
- 2:08if you've not already seen it.
- 2:11That one Daniel Brandon...
- 2:15has shuffled the deck with
- 2:17coaches to prep with a new
- 2:18crew for the CrossFit Games.
- 2:21Daniel Brandon steps away
- 2:23from El Sinevor to be
- 2:26coached by Adam Neiffer and Jesse Bifano,
- 2:30who have tagged in to help
- 2:32her over the next month.
- 2:35Brandon and Sanivore and
- 2:38their partnership on good
- 2:39terms as Knifer and Bufano take the baton,
- 2:43coaching her for the twenty
- 2:44twenty five CrossFit Games,
- 2:46which will take place in
- 2:47less than three weeks in Albany,
- 2:49New York.
- 2:51Coach L actually says it's
- 2:53been an awesome two years
- 2:55working with Danielle.
- 2:55Nothing but positive things
- 2:57to say about our time together.
- 2:59Wishing her all the best and
- 3:01excited to see how far Adam
- 3:02and Jesse can take her from here.
- 3:07If you're a coach that has
- 3:08helped build an athlete to
- 3:11the pinnacle of the CrossFit Games,
- 3:13the last thing you want to
- 3:15do is be excited for
- 3:16someone else to take it
- 3:17across the goal line.
- 3:20The last thing you want to see.
- 3:23There's no way that Coach L
- 3:25means any of that.
- 3:28Any of that.
- 3:29There's no possible way.
- 3:32It could...
- 3:36to work with her for two years.
- 3:39And from all accounts,
- 3:41working with Danielle day
- 3:42to day is not the easiest
- 3:44coaching job in the business.
- 3:46Um, she is fiery.
- 3:48She, um, uh, she, she is,
- 3:56she both is a fierce
- 3:59competitor and sometimes
- 4:02emotionally immature in the gym.
- 4:07Those things together turn
- 4:09into a very volatile situation.
- 4:11And to get through two years
- 4:12of that to then hand it off
- 4:14to somebody else for three weeks,
- 4:17never going to be cool to do that.
- 4:21Never going to be cool.
- 4:24So...
- 4:28Denise Moore says never
- 4:30seems counterproductive to
- 4:31change coaches so close to the games.
- 4:34Not the first time she's done it,
- 4:35which is what is completely wild.
- 4:39Um, she did this.
- 4:41Twenty twenty.
- 4:44Twenty twenty two.
- 4:46Uh, where she, uh,
- 4:51where there was a separation
- 4:52between underdogs athletics and her,
- 4:54and she went to brute, uh,
- 4:56to finish for three weeks
- 4:58before that games.
- 4:58Um,
- 5:03so this is not the first time for
- 5:05Danielle and she is like,
- 5:10her window is closed.
- 5:13Her window is closed.
- 5:16You can't keep sabotaging
- 5:18yourself this close to the games.
- 5:23And I'm not saying that
- 5:25she's responsible for the Gooch situation,
- 5:28as Lito is saying.
- 5:33One thousand had to do with
- 5:34the recent Gooch situation.
- 5:36It probably did.
- 5:38It probably did.
- 5:39I don't know who's to blame there.
- 5:41I don't know who is,
- 5:42if Matt and her were in a relationship,
- 5:44I don't know if Matt was
- 5:45just being the crazy stalker.
- 5:47I don't know.
- 5:48Like I know none of that.
- 5:49It's all speculation.
- 5:51And that's why I've tried to,
- 5:52to avoid talking about it
- 5:54very much because I don't
- 5:56know which side is the real story,
- 6:00but the fact that it leads to her being
- 6:04walking away from a coach
- 6:06three weeks before the
- 6:07games for the second time
- 6:08in her career as a
- 6:11perennial top ten performer
- 6:13at the games her window is
- 6:16closed you can't keep doing
- 6:19this this is her this will
- 6:21be her fourth coach since
- 6:23twenty twenty one
- 6:30She went to Cutler like
- 6:32January of twenty twenty one.
- 6:34And then in three three
- 6:36weeks before the games in
- 6:37twenty two left Cutler went
- 6:40to Matt Torres,
- 6:41worked with him at Brute for a year.
- 6:44All of a sudden, with no announcement,
- 6:46she switches from Torres to Coachell.
- 6:51coach L for two years.
- 6:53Now, three weeks before the games, she is,
- 6:56she has exited to another
- 6:58coach of Adam knifer and Jesse Bifano.
- 7:07So Terry, it's all, it's all speculation.
- 7:13We don't know if Matt Torres
- 7:16asked her to leave,
- 7:18if Coachella asked her to leave,
- 7:19or if she walked away on her own.
- 7:21It seems as if in the
- 7:24wording in the post for Morning Chalk Up,
- 7:27and again,
- 7:28I have my biases against
- 7:30Morning Chalk Up and the
- 7:32way they write things.
- 7:37So I will take it with a grain of salt,
- 7:41but the way it is written,
- 7:43you would tend to believe
- 7:44that she walked away, not kicked out.
- 7:50But again,
- 7:51that is just speculating by the
- 7:54way it is written.
- 7:56And if you trust the way
- 7:58it's written or the narrative,
- 8:01where they got the narrative from,
- 8:04and is it reliable or not?
- 8:15There we are with all that.
- 8:19But just a crazy, crazy story.
- 8:25Denise Moore,
- 8:26I am not informed where the
- 8:28new coaches are located.
- 8:30So Adam Neifer and Jesse
- 8:32Befano are Justin Medeiros' coaches.
- 8:35They also coach Trista Smith.
- 8:38And that is up in...
- 8:45up there, Pacific Northwest.
- 8:48Um, they own a CrossFit Fort Vancouver.
- 8:54And I think it's in Utah.
- 8:56I think it's in Utah, but don't,
- 8:59I'm pretty sure it's in Utah,
- 9:00but I don't know for sure.
- 9:07Um, Aaron Frazier, finally DB talk.
- 9:16I guess, I guess.
- 9:21Can I just tell you guys,
- 9:22StreamYard has changed
- 9:23something about three days
- 9:26in the last five.
- 9:28I come in here and my screen is small.
- 9:31It's just bizarre what they're doing.
- 9:37But anyway, that's for me to worry about,
- 9:40not you guys.
- 9:43I'll stop sharing that.
- 9:45Okay.
- 9:46There we go.
- 9:49So, yeah.
- 9:51So the other thing is it
- 9:57doesn't seem like a
- 9:58long-term commitment from Adam and Jesse.
- 10:03It basically just says that
- 10:06they are going to help her
- 10:07get through the CrossFit Games.
- 10:11in the article it does not
- 10:13say that this is a
- 10:13long-term commitment so I
- 10:16don't even know like the
- 10:18speculation on savon in the
- 10:20chat was that she is moving
- 10:22I don't know if she's going
- 10:23to move if it's just a
- 10:24short-term short-term thing
- 10:28uh to get her through the
- 10:29games is is it worth a
- 10:31full-fledged move up there
- 10:33uh because I don't think
- 10:34it's going to be long-term
- 10:38The other thing that came up
- 10:40was she should have called
- 10:42Kotler to see if he would
- 10:45coach her since that's
- 10:46where she's had her best success.
- 10:48I don't think Kotler would take her back.
- 10:52I don't.
- 10:53I think that there would
- 10:54need to be a much longer
- 10:56conversation about things
- 10:58which they don't have before the games.
- 11:01I just don't... Knowing Justin,
- 11:03I don't think he would take
- 11:04her back without...
- 11:06very long conversation and I
- 11:08don't I'm not even sure
- 11:09that would help at this
- 11:11point sorry about that um
- 11:26uh aaron says would torres
- 11:28take her back it looks like
- 11:30uh torres is ready to take
- 11:31her back any moment now um but who knows
- 11:39Meredith says Adam seems
- 11:40like such a level headed guy.
- 11:41Hopefully even a short term
- 11:42partnership with him will
- 11:44be helpful for her.
- 11:47Yeah, I just don't know anymore.
- 11:51I would have thought that
- 11:52with Coach L. L is very laid back, very.
- 11:56I don't think she's getting
- 11:58anything different than she
- 12:00would have got with Coach
- 12:01L. So I don't I don't I don't know.
- 12:09And at the end of the day,
- 12:11Adam's been with Justin for so long.
- 12:15Um,
- 12:18Justin has to be his priority at the
- 12:20games.
- 12:21I mean,
- 12:21they've been together since Justin
- 12:23was a teenager.
- 12:25There's no way that he is
- 12:26going to give up his time
- 12:28and his dedication to Justin,
- 12:31to coach Danielle at the games.
- 12:35Now,
- 12:35how much Justin needs at this point at
- 12:38the games, I don't know.
- 12:40But his priority has to be Justin.
- 12:49Maybe Tristan Patrick can
- 12:50take care of her.
- 12:51He seems cool.
- 12:52Yeah, I would love to see that.
- 13:00Aaron says...
- 13:02I would guess it's less
- 13:03about Coachella and more
- 13:04about getting away from Brute.
- 13:06I don't disagree with you on that at all.
- 13:08I think that's pretty spot on.
- 13:15Another question I have is,
- 13:16how did the Morning Chalk
- 13:18Up announce this before the spin?
- 13:19I don't know.
- 13:24I think that the spin is
- 13:25blocked by Danielle and
- 13:28probably some people there.
- 13:33I don't know.
- 13:35That's a great question.
- 13:43Corey says Alito because she
- 13:44gave it to MCU.
- 13:46I bet a week's pay on that.
- 13:47I don't think she gave it to MCU.
- 13:51I think that Brute gave this to MCU.
- 13:59Because the quotes are from
- 14:00Coach L. There are no
- 14:02quotes from Danielle.
- 14:07So I think Brute made the
- 14:08announcement that she has left.
- 14:13And to let everybody know
- 14:15that she's no longer under our roof.
- 14:22You got to read between the lines.
- 14:24But the quotes are from
- 14:26Coach L. They're not from Danielle.
- 14:31So unless there's a longer
- 14:32article with some quotes from Danielle,
- 14:34and I haven't had time to
- 14:35look on the MCU website to see about that,
- 14:39my bet is Brute gave this
- 14:41to Morning Chalk Up.
- 14:44And there's still a group of
- 14:45people in the CrossFit
- 14:46space that believe that
- 14:47Morning Chalk Up is the big news source.
- 14:51Especially on the affiliate side,
- 14:54they believe that the
- 14:55Morning Chalk Up is the
- 14:56news source in the space.
- 14:59I think some of us who have
- 14:59been around longer and are
- 15:01more in tune with what's
- 15:03going on know that that is
- 15:05no longer the case.
- 15:07But there's a lot of people
- 15:08out there that believe
- 15:09morning chalk up is the
- 15:12source for news in the CrossFit space.
- 15:19So.
- 15:26a solid theory scott I'm
- 15:27glad I don't actually bet
- 15:28on anything besides myself
- 15:30there you go yeah
- 15:32especially a week's pay
- 15:34because I I would have
- 15:35taken you up on the week's
- 15:36pay I don't I don't this is
- 15:45gonna and who knows we
- 15:47could be all wrong it could
- 15:48have been leaked by lab management
- 15:52And then they went and got,
- 15:53and Coachella was the one
- 15:54person that responded to
- 15:55Morning Chalk Up.
- 15:56I don't know.
- 15:57It could have been her
- 15:58representatives that did this.
- 16:01I don't think that Danielle
- 16:02alone is savvy enough to
- 16:04release this information
- 16:06where she wants it to be.
- 16:10But that's my personal opinion.
- 16:12But I want to...
- 16:19I want to ask you guys, like,
- 16:21do you think that
- 16:23Danielle's days of being a
- 16:25perennial top ten athlete are now over?
- 16:30Whether this was her doing
- 16:32or someone else's doing,
- 16:33it is the fourth coach change.
- 16:36We talk about this with
- 16:37Sarah Sigmundsdottir when
- 16:39she was coach jumping and
- 16:41attacked her mercilessly.
- 16:45Do you think that this has
- 16:47really ended her shot at
- 16:49being a legit contender for
- 16:51the rest of her career?
- 16:59Meredith wants to know how old she is.
- 17:05Let me Google that quickly.
- 17:22They stopped putting ages on
- 17:24the CrossFit game site, it looks like.
- 17:39So she would have been about
- 17:40twenty two when she came in.
- 17:44And she competed.
- 17:48Twenty twenty one.
- 17:50She's got to be twenty seven
- 17:51or twenty eight at this
- 17:53point is where I would
- 17:54guess because she did four
- 17:56years of track in college
- 17:59and then she jumped into
- 18:02CrossFit in twenty twenty.
- 18:05And so that's five more
- 18:06years at a year for weird stuff.
- 18:12I think that ends up being
- 18:14about twenty eight.
- 18:27Shanna Bunce,
- 18:27I think it depends on if she
- 18:29can keep a coach for longer
- 18:30than a few years.
- 18:31She has the talent.
- 18:33At one time,
- 18:34Justin Kotler told me she was
- 18:36the most talented athlete in the field.
- 18:38Um, but she needed more than that.
- 18:41She needed more than talent.
- 18:43Um,
- 18:45And I don't think she can
- 18:46keep a coach for very long.
- 18:47And how many coaches are left?
- 18:50I mean,
- 18:50she's spinning through them pretty fast.
- 18:53So I don't think she can
- 18:55keep a coach for a couple years.
- 19:02Erin Frazier,
- 19:03she is top ten but not a contender.
- 19:06No Gabby, Laura, Gazan.
- 19:10Yeah,
- 19:11she's probably a top ten this year
- 19:12just for where she's at.
- 19:16Maybe.
- 19:22Denise,
- 19:22I think DB always wants to keep
- 19:24everyone guessing.
- 19:25Well, that's fine.
- 19:27But at the end of the day,
- 19:28you have to perform and you
- 19:34have to dedicate yourself to your craft.
- 19:39I'm just not sure she's there.
- 19:44I don't think she is there, period.
- 19:48So, in my opinion, the window's closed.
- 19:52She will never contend again
- 19:54at this point.
- 19:57Because at some point,
- 19:58Gazan's going to be back.
- 20:00Gabby's going to be back.
- 20:02You have this crop of young,
- 20:05phenomenal athletes coming up.
- 20:06I just think that her days
- 20:09are over as a contender and
- 20:12soon probably no longer a
- 20:13top ten athlete.
- 20:23Yeah.
- 20:25Lito, I agree, top ten and very talented.
- 20:29Obviously, mental game is not there,
- 20:31but also strength isn't.
- 20:33And I feel like with certain athletes,
- 20:34if they haven't gotten
- 20:35strong in X number of years,
- 20:36they never will.
- 20:38She was getting strong.
- 20:39She was building that up,
- 20:42and then her back went.
- 20:43And now she's had continued
- 20:46back issues as well.
- 20:47So, yeah.
- 20:55Ken Walter said he's been running late.
- 20:57Can you move the lunch hour back?
- 20:59Thirty minutes.
- 21:00Dude, I wish I could.
- 21:02I wish I could hand in my
- 21:04retirement papers and just
- 21:06do this and be able to do
- 21:07this whenever I wanted.
- 21:09But I am stuck to my lunch hour.
- 21:14So there you have.
- 21:21Do you read what's going on?
- 21:24She tells me to tell the state of Ohio,
- 21:26Scott.
- 21:27Yeah,
- 21:27I don't think after having a coworker
- 21:30fired on Friday,
- 21:30I'm in the position to say
- 21:33anything right now.
- 21:39I heard athletics.
- 21:40Good to see you in the comments.
- 21:46Had a great conversation
- 21:47with Carolyn after the show last night.
- 21:50Excited for some things there.
- 21:54And now that's all I can ever,
- 21:57whenever I see heard athletics,
- 21:58all I can hear is heard.
- 22:05Um, uh, Scott,
- 22:08I heard a rumor that you
- 22:09were an extra on the film American pie.
- 22:11Nope.
- 22:12Sorry.
- 22:17Uh, just tell Steve on to end by twelve,
- 22:20fifteen.
- 22:20Yeah.
- 22:21He's been really like long winded lately.
- 22:24He's gone on and on and on,
- 22:26but he's had some good shows too.
- 22:28Sometimes it's really hard
- 22:29to stop listening to then
- 22:31come down here and set this
- 22:32up and get going.
- 22:35But yeah, it is what it is.
- 22:38It's crossover.
- 22:41As I told you guys,
- 22:42I started doing this just
- 22:44as practice to be able to
- 22:45talk to a camera without
- 22:47having someone to bounce things off of.
- 22:50and actually I think what
- 22:51I'm finding over the last
- 22:53couple weeks is it's given
- 22:54me a freedom to say
- 22:56whatever's on my mind and
- 22:58know that it won't have an
- 22:59impact on anybody that I'm
- 23:00hanging out with um so it
- 23:04actually allows me now some
- 23:06freedom in this in this
- 23:09vein to just say what I
- 23:11think and not worry about
- 23:13what my co-hosts think
- 23:16And then we have the Sunday
- 23:17night show for that.
- 23:18And we can still do the
- 23:19bounce off and the
- 23:20arguments and the debates,
- 23:22which is great.
- 23:23But here I,
- 23:24now I can just say what I feel.
- 23:27And I think that's what this
- 23:28show has given me,
- 23:30which I have never had in the past.
- 23:32As I get more comfortable
- 23:33talking to a camera as
- 23:35opposed to Carolyn and Jamie.
- 23:37Uh,
- 23:43Retiring in January,
- 23:44told a director at work on
- 23:45Thursday that I was
- 23:46disappointed in him pushing my limits.
- 23:50Yeah.
- 23:51The closer I get to that door, Denise,
- 23:53I know the bigger my mouth
- 23:54will get for sure.
- 24:08Ken Walters.
- 24:08The other one I can't get
- 24:09out of my brain is the
- 24:10ending rap after the dense updates.
- 24:13So here's the problem.
- 24:15I get up to pee in the
- 24:16middle of the night.
- 24:18Jenny's update is in my queue.
- 24:21And then to get back to sleep,
- 24:23I kind of play it.
- 24:25And it's fine because she
- 24:27keeps a nice pace,
- 24:28a nice volume level
- 24:30throughout her updates.
- 24:31But then that wrap comes on.
- 24:33And if I'm starting to fade off,
- 24:36it pops me awake immediately.
- 24:40So I need to just start not
- 24:42hitting the start button on
- 24:44that until I actually get
- 24:45up in the morning.
- 24:56so what else we got here
- 24:58anyway okay so the other
- 25:01thing I wanted to talk
- 25:01about is um the title of
- 25:04the show is broken promises
- 25:06last night on the show we
- 25:08had a factor fiction that
- 25:11um wfp had promised us new
- 25:13and creative ways of
- 25:14promoting athletes I gave
- 25:16my take on that last night
- 25:19again hiller clipped it and
- 25:21then showed the data behind it
- 25:24And to see that the
- 25:25followers haven't really
- 25:27significantly changed from
- 25:29the time the WFP came into
- 25:31play till now shows that
- 25:34they're not really advancing.
- 25:38They're not really advancing
- 25:39the exposure of the
- 25:42athletes like they promised.
- 25:45But the other thing is they have not,
- 25:47they've shown a lack of creativity.
- 25:50And I have a theory behind that.
- 25:54And here we go.
- 25:57When you try to build
- 25:58something out of tragedy,
- 26:03you keep things safe.
- 26:05And because of that,
- 26:07all they have done is done
- 26:09retreads of things that
- 26:10have been done in the past.
- 26:16And what I mean by that is,
- 26:20Lazar dies at the games.
- 26:23WFP wants to push and take
- 26:25on the CrossFit Games.
- 26:30And I'm not going by what they say.
- 26:32I'm going by what I think is
- 26:33actually happening.
- 26:35And as they go to take on
- 26:36the CrossFit Games and they
- 26:37can't push the limits of
- 26:39what they're doing because
- 26:42they need to play it safe
- 26:43and they want the old
- 26:45followers of CrossFit to come with them.
- 26:49So they bring on the buttery
- 26:50bros to do the media.
- 26:52They bring on Tommy Marquez
- 26:53to do an update show.
- 26:56It is all the same people
- 26:58that we have seen in the past.
- 27:02And the only people that are
- 27:03performing at a level with
- 27:05excitement are the couple
- 27:07new people that they brought on.
- 27:09However,
- 27:12Because you're building this
- 27:15on the premise that a
- 27:17tragedy happened and that
- 27:19was at the fault of the other company,
- 27:21you can't push the limits
- 27:25because you're afraid
- 27:26you're going to piss people off.
- 27:29And that's where WFP is right now.
- 27:32They want to take on the
- 27:33games after what happened,
- 27:35but they're afraid to push
- 27:36the limits because they're
- 27:38afraid to piss people off.
- 27:40Because you're building your
- 27:42company on the fact that
- 27:44people are pissed off at
- 27:45the other company.
- 27:52And because of that,
- 27:54you can't be new and you
- 27:56can't be creative.
- 27:59And so they promised us that.
- 28:01that that was what they were
- 28:03bringing to the table.
- 28:04It was going to be a new way
- 28:06of showing off these athletes,
- 28:09getting them more exposure
- 28:11in new and creative and innovative ways,
- 28:14and none of that has happened.
- 28:16The only promise that they
- 28:17have come through on,
- 28:19and that I don't know if
- 28:20the checks have cleared,
- 28:21is to pay the athletes.
- 28:26Initially, I was a supporter of the WFP,
- 28:29not because of what happened at the games,
- 28:31but because I won a season
- 28:33that makes sense.
- 28:35And they put together a
- 28:36season that actually made sense to me.
- 28:40But all this stuff that's
- 28:41going on around it,
- 28:42they're losing me as a supporter.
- 28:46And they're losing me faster
- 28:47and faster as we get
- 28:49through the rest of the season.
- 28:59I wanted to see a season
- 29:01structure that was basic
- 29:02and simple succeed.
- 29:05So at some point,
- 29:06hopefully CrossFit would
- 29:07take that and move forward
- 29:10with it or hand off the
- 29:13sports side to somebody who
- 29:15could make that work.
- 29:18But I don't see any other
- 29:20than just the structure of it itself.
- 29:23Nothing else is playing out
- 29:25the way that they have promised or the
- 29:29shared that they wanted to deliver to us.
- 29:36So that is my theory on why
- 29:42there's nothing new.
- 29:44There's nothing creative.
- 29:55Patrick Clark,
- 29:56because you're consuming
- 29:57media attacking the WFP
- 29:58without interaction with WFP directly.
- 30:01I'm watching all the WFP media.
- 30:04They promised new creative
- 30:06and innovative ways to
- 30:08promote the athletes.
- 30:09And I've watched everything
- 30:11that they've put out and
- 30:12none of it has met that standard.
- 30:15None of it.
- 30:28I was supportive of the WFP.
- 30:30I wanted it to succeed.
- 30:31I wanted it to show that you
- 30:33could have a simple season
- 30:34that makes sense and make it work.
- 30:37And it hasn't,
- 30:39it's not working because
- 30:40none of the promises about
- 30:42this idea of a new,
- 30:45you've had a dead seat,
- 30:47dead part of your season
- 30:48for a couple months where
- 30:50you could put out more and
- 30:51more content to get people
- 30:52hyped and nothing has come.
- 31:06The season is still occurring.
- 31:08I understand that.
- 31:09I understand that, Mike.
- 31:10But what I'm saying is, okay,
- 31:15I think everything is
- 31:16falling on deaf ears here
- 31:19because there was a promise
- 31:22made that what they were
- 31:25going to do was going to be new,
- 31:26innovative, and different,
- 31:28and none of that has happened.
- 31:30And that is what I'm commenting on.
- 31:35And I have a theory behind it.
- 31:40I didn't say it failed.
- 31:41I said the promise was broken.
- 31:58So that's my thought.
- 32:05Andrew Hiller, PC respectfully,
- 32:07that's a horseshit take.
- 32:08No one gets to have direct
- 32:09contact with HQ when they
- 32:10talk about what they are up to.
- 32:14And I have criticized
- 32:15CrossFit HQ just as equally
- 32:17on the content they're putting out.
- 32:20So I don't know why you're
- 32:22pitting me against everything.
- 32:25I'm just being honest as to
- 32:26what I'm seeing.
- 32:36Patrick Clark,
- 32:37was that promise made on a timeline?
- 32:39Well, if it doesn't come soon,
- 32:41then you're going to lose
- 32:42all the people that were interested.
- 32:44So if your timeline's longer than this,
- 32:47that's a really shitty timeline.
- 33:05This was in a podcast with Will,
- 33:09and one of the benefits
- 33:10that they were going to
- 33:10bring was new and
- 33:12innovative ways to promote the athletes.
- 33:23So anyway, that's my theory on that.
- 33:28The other thing is MedCon
- 33:30Rush happened this weekend, and...
- 33:34I have a theory about this as well.
- 33:36I love Metcon Rush.
- 33:38It was one of the coolest
- 33:39little competitions I call
- 33:41mid-majors that I've always
- 33:44wanted to go to because I
- 33:45think they do a great job with setup,
- 33:47with location,
- 33:48and they get a ton of
- 33:49people to come every year.
- 33:51They
- 33:53had a lack of what I would
- 33:55call mid to upper level
- 33:58semi-final athletes this
- 33:59year and I wonder if that
- 34:02is because the crossfit
- 34:04game season gave multiple
- 34:07opportunities for those
- 34:08types of athletes to
- 34:10compete to try to make the
- 34:11crossfit games and because of that
- 34:15There's no way they could
- 34:16get it back up for like a
- 34:18mid-major like Metcon Rush.
- 34:21And if we continue to go down this path,
- 34:23is that going to affect
- 34:26these mid-majors that are
- 34:28like local competitions
- 34:30done on a grander scale?
- 34:33And I'm anxious to hear
- 34:34people's thoughts on that
- 34:35because tomorrow I'm going
- 34:37to have the director of
- 34:38Fight for the Fittest on
- 34:39the show with lunch.
- 34:42They have actually hit new
- 34:43levels of participation by
- 34:46doubling participation this
- 34:48year for Fight for the
- 34:49Fittest out on Long Island.
- 34:52And I want to know what
- 34:53they're doing or what
- 34:54they're seeing in the level
- 34:56of athletes they're getting
- 34:58at this point in the season
- 35:00with that kind of structure
- 35:01to the CrossFit Games season.
- 35:05So I'm excited to talk to
- 35:06him to find out about that.
- 35:09And he's also going to be
- 35:13part of the team that is
- 35:15bringing the United Grid
- 35:17League to New York next season.
- 35:25And so we're going to talk
- 35:27about that a little bit as well.
- 35:32Tristan Patrick,
- 35:33there are far too many
- 35:34competitions in this season format.
- 35:40I believe that is to be true.
- 35:51Okay.
- 35:53Okay.
- 36:00and we're still going back
- 36:01on the WFP versus whatever,
- 36:05Barry McOchner, who's defending it,
- 36:07Scott and others, have criticized HQ,
- 36:09but you hear what you want to.
- 36:12I've criticized HQ about
- 36:13their content as well.
- 36:15If you've heard my reviews
- 36:17of Road to the Games,
- 36:18they haven't been good.
- 36:22They lack story.
- 36:25They're well-produced,
- 36:26which is well and fine.
- 36:30but there's no story to them.
- 36:32But I would say the same
- 36:33thing about the World
- 36:34Fitness Project's stuff content as well.
- 36:41Other than the Laura Horvath
- 36:43episode that they did,
- 36:46the storylines have been
- 36:47weak in theirs as well.
- 37:10Wow.
- 37:11There is just, there's so many comments.
- 37:15I'm having a hard time.
- 37:20I heard athletics.
- 37:20Sam is a great guy doing
- 37:22awesome stuff in our New York Metro.
- 37:24He is awesome.
- 37:26I had him on the show a
- 37:28little over a year ago, probably.
- 37:31And we stayed in touch
- 37:33regularly throughout the year.
- 37:36I try to promote all the
- 37:37stuff that they have and
- 37:39post whatever I can.
- 37:41He's really good.
- 37:47Doug Reed, instead of being defensive,
- 37:49maybe hear what Scott is saying.
- 37:50He's not attacking anyone.
- 37:56I am kind of attacking content creators.
- 37:58I think that we have created
- 38:00a formula that is being
- 38:02repeated over and over and over again,
- 38:05and nobody is trying anything new.
- 38:07And I have to give Hiller credit.
- 38:09Hiller is doing something new.
- 38:11He is telling stories when
- 38:12he goes to these people's
- 38:13houses and he talks to them.
- 38:16It's not just workout porn
- 38:19and training sessions.
- 38:20It's actually a story about
- 38:22the individual.
- 38:30Uh, I heard a flakes.
- 38:31We just dropped our date for herd fest.
- 38:33Cool.
- 38:43Clock.
- 38:44I did not roll out of bed.
- 38:46This is just what they're getting today.
- 38:52Uh, Andrew Hiller,
- 38:53I'm kind of attacking content creators.
- 39:00uh all right with that guys
- 39:11it is actually my lunch
- 39:13hour is just about up it
- 39:14was good hanging with you
- 39:16we can start this back up
- 39:18uh tomorrow or wednesday
- 39:19tomorrow I am having sam on from uh yeah
- 39:27Sure.
- 39:28Fight for the fittest.
- 39:32And we're going to talk about...
- 39:35That and the New York wolves
- 39:37coming to the United grid league.
- 39:39That'll be tomorrow's show.
- 39:40Then we're going to cook it
- 39:41up Cajun with Corey on Wednesday.
- 39:44And then I told you guys last night,
- 39:45this weekend is there could be a change.
- 39:49And what that is,
- 39:50is we are going to move to
- 39:52Monday night from Sunday to Monday night.
- 39:54I have concert tickets on Sunday night.
- 39:57So we're going to move the show to Monday.
- 40:00But with that guys, I'll be back tomorrow.
- 40:02Don't forget to like,
- 40:03and subscribe to the channel.
- 40:07And love the conversation
- 40:10going on in the chat, man.
- 40:11This has been a fun show.
- 40:12Can't wait to do another one tomorrow.
- 40:15See you guys.
- 40:16Peace out.
