- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys. Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: howcrel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:25Speaker 1: the hockrel energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday. I hope you guys are having an amazing
- 0:32Speaker 1: week so far. I cannot believe it, but I am
- 0:36Speaker 1: twenty nine. It is officially my last year of my twenties,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and I am like, so I don't know, excited about it.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I'm also like, I can't believe I'm at this phase
- 0:50Speaker 1: in my life. I feel like my twenties went by
- 0:53Speaker 1: so fast, but at the same time, it all went
- 0:54Speaker 1: so slow. It's such a weird feeling. But at the
- 0:58Speaker 1: same time, I hear such amazing things about entering your
- 1:01Speaker 1: thirties and how your thirties are actually the best years
- 1:03Speaker 1: of your life, because let's face it, being in your
- 1:06Speaker 1: twenties is amazing and it's, you know, something that I
- 1:10Speaker 1: think everyone looks forward to and everyone talks about how
- 1:13Speaker 1: it was amazing times and amazing years of your life.
- 1:16Speaker 1: But I feel like your twenties that a lot of
- 1:18Speaker 1: people don't talk about, is how much of a rollercoaster
- 1:21Speaker 1: of you know, emotion and change that happens in your twenties,
- 1:24Speaker 1: whereas like in your thirties, I feel like that's your
- 1:27Speaker 1: peak in your life, where it's like you have your
- 1:30Speaker 1: shit figured out, you have your career figured out. You know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: usually at that point you're settling down, whether you're having
- 1:36Speaker 1: kids or having a family, you know, again creating bigger
- 1:39Speaker 1: milestones for yourself in your career or for your life
- 1:43Speaker 1: in general, like buying a home all that. So, I
- 1:45Speaker 1: don't know, twenties was amazing and I truly loved every
- 1:49Speaker 1: aspect of it, and it was truly a rollercoaster of
- 1:53Speaker 1: a decade, just like thinking about my early twenties versus now,
- 1:56Speaker 1: like how much has changed and like changed for the better,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and like definitely things happen for a reason in my opinion,
- 2:02Speaker 1: Like I truly believe in that motto, and I do
- 2:05Speaker 1: think going into my thirties is going to be even
- 2:07Speaker 1: better and there's going to be even better things coming.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I think there was always this perception of just being
- 2:12Speaker 1: afraid of your thirties and how you know you're getting
- 2:14Speaker 1: older and like things are getting more serious and you
- 2:17Speaker 1: know what, Yeah, but like also things get serious in
- 2:19Speaker 1: your twenties, and you know, you're done school and you
- 2:22Speaker 1: have to find a career for yourself, and there's always
- 2:24Speaker 1: so much pressure of figuring out what you want to do.
- 2:26Speaker 1: And anyways, I just think it's a totally different life
- 2:29Speaker 1: that you live in your twenties versus your thirties. And yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: I'm just really excited, honestly to enter my thirties. And yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: just have an amazing last year of my twenties as well,
- 2:39Speaker 1: So I'm excited for twenty nine. I'm excited to see
- 2:42Speaker 1: what's in store. My goal for this year is to
- 2:45Speaker 1: definitely travel a lot still with my husband and fully
- 2:48Speaker 1: just yeah, enjoy every aspect of this year. It's already
- 2:52Speaker 1: been a great start for twenty twenty five, so I'm
- 2:54Speaker 1: already excited to see what the future holds for the
- 2:57Speaker 1: rest of this year. But I did want to quickly
- 2:59Speaker 1: recap my twenty ninth birthday if you guys follow me
- 3:01Speaker 1: on Instagram and I kind of mentioned it in the
- 3:03Speaker 1: last episode, but I hosted a Espresso Martini birthday party theme.
- 3:09Speaker 1: If you want to do it yourself, there's so many
- 3:10Speaker 1: mood boards on Pinterest. That's kind of how I built
- 3:13Speaker 1: my birthday theme, as I always go on Pinterest and
- 3:15Speaker 1: just kind of like build inspo from that. And basically
- 3:18Speaker 1: what I did is I decided to stick to espresso
- 3:21Speaker 1: martini versus just like a dirty martini. I've seen people
- 3:24Speaker 1: do like a dirty martini thirtieth birthday parties, but I
- 3:28Speaker 1: really liked the idea of doing like a brown theme
- 3:31Speaker 1: where everyone dresses brown, we have brown decorations, we have
- 3:34Speaker 1: espresso martinis everywhere, So that's kind of how the theme
- 3:38Speaker 1: came to be. Anyways, that's what I decided to do
- 3:40Speaker 1: for a theme and for decorations and all that. I
- 3:42Speaker 1: just ordered some stuff from Amazon, got my outfit from Revolve,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and that was like the best brown outfit that I
- 3:48Speaker 1: could find that I personally felt like was really fun
- 3:51Speaker 1: and cute for the birthday aesthetic that I was going for.
- 3:54Speaker 1: We had about twenty five people there. We did at
- 3:57Speaker 1: a restaurant called Starling, And the reason why I picked
- 4:00Speaker 1: it is because it had like a private event space
- 4:03Speaker 1: up top, so we had the entire top floor with
- 4:06Speaker 1: like not bothering anyone in the public restaurant, which was
- 4:09Speaker 1: huge for me, because I feel like when you have
- 4:11Speaker 1: a big group of friends, and I'm sure you guys
- 4:13Speaker 1: can maybe relate to this when you're going out for
- 4:16Speaker 1: dinner with your friends or you know, if you have
- 4:18Speaker 1: a big group of people that you go out to
- 4:19Speaker 1: dinner with all the time, it's really hard to be
- 4:22Speaker 1: in a public setting when everyone's so loud and you
- 4:25Speaker 1: have such a big group of people that I don't know.
- 4:27Speaker 1: For me, I'm like, I didn't want to be in
- 4:30Speaker 1: the public space. I really wanted to be more of
- 4:31Speaker 1: a private event. And obviously we wanted photos, we wanted videos,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and anyways, I just felt like it was necessary to
- 4:38Speaker 1: find a space that we could fully just have to
- 4:41Speaker 1: our own. So that's what I did, and it was
- 4:44Speaker 1: so worth it. The food was incredible. Everything about it
- 4:47Speaker 1: was just so fun. I got a bunch of espresso
- 4:50Speaker 1: martinis for everybody, so it was just like very chill,
- 4:52Speaker 1: but everyone had a really fun time. And then the
- 4:55Speaker 1: restaurant also had like a basement cocktail bar that we
- 4:58Speaker 1: went to after the fat and yeah, all in all,
- 5:01Speaker 1: it was a really fun night. I don't ever go
- 5:03Speaker 1: to the downtown area of Ottawa, so if you live
- 5:06Speaker 1: in Ottawa. Maybe you can agree to this, but I'm
- 5:08Speaker 1: not a fan of the market. It's just not my vibe.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It's gotten really sketchy over the past few years and
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm just not about it anymore. I'm small town vibes.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I like where I live. I like to stay in
- 5:21Speaker 1: this area. The only time I ever like to go
- 5:23Speaker 1: out really is when I'm traveling and not in my city.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I don't know that might be an unpopular opinion, but
- 5:29Speaker 1: I do not like to go out in my hometown.
- 5:31Speaker 1: I just would prefer to, yeah, go to other areas
- 5:33Speaker 1: when I'm traveling. It's just a personal preference. But anyways,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I love where I live, but I don't really love
- 5:39Speaker 1: it for like the going out vibes. I like going
- 5:42Speaker 1: to like nice restaurants and that's about it. But anyways,
- 5:45Speaker 1: So that was my birthday. It was super fun, super chill.
- 5:49Speaker 1: You know, only had like a drink or two. You
- 5:51Speaker 1: guys know that I don't really drink that much, so
- 5:54Speaker 1: I kind of like touched on this in previous episodes,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but alcohol is just like not really for me. And
- 5:58Speaker 1: I think I've realized that as I age that, you know,
- 6:01Speaker 1: not everyone's going to love it and how it makes
- 6:05Speaker 1: them feel. And for me personally, it's just doesn't make
- 6:08Speaker 1: me feel the best way. Sometimes I feel like super unproductive.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Sometimes I feel lazy, and that's okay. I think we
- 6:13Speaker 1: need to normalize that it's okay to feel that way
- 6:16Speaker 1: and that if your body, you know, doesn't feel good
- 6:20Speaker 1: after drinking, like why keep doing it if you don't
- 6:23Speaker 1: want to do it. And obviously, I'm very much into
- 6:25Speaker 1: health and wellness, and I obviously know there's a lot
- 6:29Speaker 1: of bad things that happen when you drink booze. It's
- 6:32Speaker 1: just the reality. But you know, I do enjoy having
- 6:36Speaker 1: an occasional glass of wine. So for me, it's not
- 6:38Speaker 1: something that I want to fully cut out. And I'm
- 6:40Speaker 1: all about balance. I'm all about balancing you know, what
- 6:43Speaker 1: you eat, what you drink, everything. So I'm not really
- 6:45Speaker 1: wanting to fully cut it out because I do enjoy
- 6:48Speaker 1: the occasional drink and like, for example, celebrating my birthday,
- 6:52Speaker 1: like I was craving an espresso martini, I was craving
- 6:55Speaker 1: a glass of wine, and you know, I did kind
- 6:57Speaker 1: of feel like shit the next day, but I wasn't hungover.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It's more so I just find it drains my energy
- 7:02Speaker 1: and I don't want to do anything all day, and
- 7:04Speaker 1: I'm a very productive individual and I like to be productive.
- 7:07Speaker 1: So I don't know. For me, I have my thoughts
- 7:10Speaker 1: on alcohol, and I would, you know, I would hope
- 7:13Speaker 1: no one would ever judge me for being a mocktail
- 7:15Speaker 1: person and not drinking that much. Like at the end
- 7:17Speaker 1: of the day, your friends should accept you for who
- 7:19Speaker 1: you are, and I think it's I feel like it's
- 7:22Speaker 1: becoming more and more normalized, which is great that you know,
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm not going to judge you if you want to
- 7:27Speaker 1: get blackout drunk, but don't judge me for not wanting
- 7:30Speaker 1: to get blackout drunk. Right, Like, there's people in my
- 7:32Speaker 1: friend group who are like me who don't drink that much,
- 7:34Speaker 1: and then there's people in my friend group that you know,
- 7:36Speaker 1: love to drink a lot. And we're all very much
- 7:37Speaker 1: with the motto that like you do you like you
- 7:40Speaker 1: do what feels best for yourself, and we still all
- 7:42Speaker 1: have a very fun time together and no one forces
- 7:44Speaker 1: anything on anyone, Like everyone just allows themselves to do
- 7:48Speaker 1: what's best for yourself, which is what I love about
- 7:50Speaker 1: my friend group is that we can all just do
- 7:52Speaker 1: our own thing, and everyone kind of accepts that, you
- 7:54Speaker 1: know what I mean. So Yeah, anyways, I kind of
- 7:57Speaker 1: wanted to talk about some lessons that I've learned in
- 7:59Speaker 1: my twenty and I guess that's kind of one of them.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Where As I've grown into the woman that I've become,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I feel like I've learned that, like alcohol isn't for me,
- 8:07Speaker 1: and that it's not always for everyone. Another thing that
- 8:10Speaker 1: I feel like is very much happening in my life
- 8:13Speaker 1: currently is there is no timeline in life as a
- 8:17Speaker 1: lesson that I've learned, because I always had this vision
- 8:20Speaker 1: that I would be married by a certain age, I'd
- 8:22Speaker 1: have kids by a certain age. And I'm sure a
- 8:24Speaker 1: lot of you guys could feel the same way that
- 8:25Speaker 1: you know, you always had this, you know, timeline that
- 8:28Speaker 1: you wanted to complete things in your life. And I'm
- 8:31Speaker 1: telling you right now, my timeline did not match what
- 8:34Speaker 1: I wanted from you know, five to seven years ago,
- 8:37Speaker 1: when I, you know, envisioned me getting married and starting
- 8:40Speaker 1: to have kids, like at this point in my life,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I envisioned myself having my second child and I don't
- 8:45Speaker 1: even have a kid yet. I just got married last
- 8:47Speaker 1: year at the end of the day. You need to
- 8:49Speaker 1: just trust your own gut and do everything on your
- 8:51Speaker 1: own timeline. Don't be matching someone else's because the worst
- 8:55Speaker 1: thing you could do is think that, oh, like all
- 8:58Speaker 1: my friends are having kids, so I should probab have
- 9:00Speaker 1: a kid now too. But if you don't feel mentally
- 9:02Speaker 1: ready to take on that responsibility, if anything, that's worse
- 9:06Speaker 1: for yourself, and you're going to create just a bad
- 9:08Speaker 1: mental health for yourself by forcing something on yourself that
- 9:11Speaker 1: you don't feel ready for. So for me, I don't
- 9:14Speaker 1: feel ready right now. I'm going to wait another year.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I might wait another two years. Like I'm all about
- 9:18Speaker 1: listening to my body, trusting my own gut, Like I
- 9:20Speaker 1: don't want to do something that like I feel pressured
- 9:23Speaker 1: to do. I want to just do it on my
- 9:25Speaker 1: own timeline. And I think so many people have promoted
- 9:28Speaker 1: that so amazingly through social media that you know, people
- 9:31Speaker 1: are in their thirties, whether they're thirty four or thirty seven,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and they're having their first child, and it's so refreshing
- 9:36Speaker 1: to see that because I think a lot of people
- 9:38Speaker 1: just have this perception that, oh, as soon as you
- 9:40Speaker 1: hit thirty, like you're going to be infertile and it's
- 9:43Speaker 1: going to be hard for you to have kids. And
- 9:45Speaker 1: I hate that, like, I actually hate that that is
- 9:47Speaker 1: being promoted. And I understand why it's being promoted that
- 9:51Speaker 1: way because they're just trying to make you aware and
- 9:53Speaker 1: just you know, really understand your body and do your
- 9:57Speaker 1: checkups and all that with your doctor and all that.
- 9:59Speaker 1: But at the same time time, we also need to
- 10:01Speaker 1: be able to normalize that it is still possible to
- 10:03Speaker 1: have kids aft with the age of thirty three, Like
- 10:05Speaker 1: you're not behind in life, like you can still have
- 10:09Speaker 1: your own path. So that is one of the lessons.
- 10:12Speaker 1: There is no timeline in life. Another one is life
- 10:15Speaker 1: will always change for the better. I think change is scary,
- 10:19Speaker 1: and I think a lot of people you know, are
- 10:22Speaker 1: scared to make those changes. And to be fully transparent,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I'm very scared about having children Like that to me
- 10:28Speaker 1: is something that I'm scared for because I know my
- 10:30Speaker 1: life is going to dramatically change. But I'm also in
- 10:33Speaker 1: that mindset where I'm like, you can't be afraid of it,
- 10:35Speaker 1: because at the end of the day, that change might
- 10:38Speaker 1: be the best thing that you've ever done in your life,
- 10:41Speaker 1: and it might be the best decision that you've ever made.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So change is scary, but it's also very exciting and
- 10:47Speaker 1: can be really good for you, and in order to
- 10:50Speaker 1: grow changes needed. Becoming a mom is something that I've
- 10:54Speaker 1: always wanted and I'm very excited and something that I'm
- 10:58Speaker 1: really excited to do with the Zach. Is well as
- 11:00Speaker 1: being able to have, like I don't know, that makes
- 11:02Speaker 1: me feel so emotional, Like being able to have a
- 11:05Speaker 1: part of him and a part of me in one
- 11:07Speaker 1: is the most magical thing ever. And I truly do
- 11:10Speaker 1: think pregnancy and just giving birth and everything is so
- 11:14Speaker 1: insane that our bodies can do that as women. And again,
- 11:18Speaker 1: it's something that I want to do, but I'm just like,
- 11:21Speaker 1: I think I'm just waiting for that sign where it's
- 11:23Speaker 1: like you're going to feel ready and you're going to feel,
- 11:25Speaker 1: you know, ready to take on that change. And it
- 11:28Speaker 1: scares me, but I know I need to do it,
- 11:32Speaker 1: and I know I'm going to be super proud of
- 11:34Speaker 1: myself and excited that I did do that, and I
- 11:37Speaker 1: know it's going to be life changing in the best
- 11:38Speaker 1: way possible. And yeah, I think I'm just really waiting
- 11:41Speaker 1: for that new decade to kind of like start that
- 11:44Speaker 1: new chapter. I think everyone in their head might have
- 11:47Speaker 1: like a mental checklist, and that's kind of where I'm at.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I always have like a checklist of things that I
- 11:52Speaker 1: want to complete my life before like getting to that
- 11:55Speaker 1: next chapter in my life. And there's just a few
- 11:57Speaker 1: things that I want to complete. So that's is something
- 12:00Speaker 1: that I've learned, is that no matter what, life will change,
- 12:04Speaker 1: and it will change for the better. In that change
- 12:07Speaker 1: is exciting, and so that brings us into the next one,
- 12:10Speaker 1: which is take those risks. This is something that I
- 12:15Speaker 1: was very afraid to do in my early twenties because
- 12:17Speaker 1: I hated what I did. I worked in the health
- 12:20Speaker 1: and wellness space as a project manager and it just
- 12:23Speaker 1: wasn't for me. I was not into the office job life.
- 12:25Speaker 1: It just even working from home, it wasn't my favorite
- 12:28Speaker 1: thing in the world. I didn't have a passion for it.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Even though I did love health and wellness, the career
- 12:33Speaker 1: choice just didn't seem for me. And I have always loved,
- 12:38Speaker 1: you know, the creative side of things. When it came
- 12:40Speaker 1: to designing and editing videos and I don't know, just
- 12:45Speaker 1: photos being taken all that. There was always this creative
- 12:48Speaker 1: side of me that I just loved so much. And
- 12:51Speaker 1: I think there's also a lot of pressure from your
- 12:53Speaker 1: parents sometimes when it comes to your twenties, is that
- 12:56Speaker 1: they have a specific vision for you on how you
- 12:58Speaker 1: know you should go down. Like maybe your parents are
- 13:01Speaker 1: doctors and they kind of pressure you to get into
- 13:04Speaker 1: the medical field, but that might not be something that
- 13:05Speaker 1: you want to do, right. So I think in your
- 13:07Speaker 1: twenties you have to kind of discover yourself and put
- 13:10Speaker 1: your foot down and that kind of allows you to
- 13:11Speaker 1: grow up into the person that you become, and you
- 13:14Speaker 1: kind of like force yourself to do something that you
- 13:16Speaker 1: trust yourself doing right. To be fully transparent, my parents
- 13:20Speaker 1: didn't really think the whole social media and influencer thing
- 13:22Speaker 1: was the right path to go down. They were very
- 13:24Speaker 1: much like, you should be running a business, you should
- 13:27Speaker 1: be going down the business side of things, Like, I
- 13:28Speaker 1: don't know if this is the right decision for you.
- 13:30Speaker 1: And at that point in my life, I'm like, well,
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'm twenty five, I'm an adult. I can make my
- 13:35Speaker 1: own decisions. This is something that I'm going to pursue,
- 13:37Speaker 1: and whether you like it or not, this is what
- 13:39Speaker 1: I'm going to do. And that's that And they were like,
- 13:42Speaker 1: you're right, You're an adult. You can make your own decisions.
- 13:44Speaker 1: So I took that risk of literally posting every single
- 13:49Speaker 1: day on social media, hoping that I would be able
- 13:51Speaker 1: to quit my nine to five and take it on myself.
- 13:55Speaker 1: And at that time, I didn't really understand influencing. It
- 13:58Speaker 1: was during COVID I felt like I didn't really think
- 14:00Speaker 1: I was going to make a full career out of it.
- 14:02Speaker 1: I kind of just thought, oh, like I could probably
- 14:04Speaker 1: make a lot of good side money, which would be great,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and being able to put it towards a house for
- 14:08Speaker 1: Zach and I and you know, whatever else I wanted
- 14:10Speaker 1: at the time. And then once I realized how it
- 14:13Speaker 1: worked when it came to managers and how much you
- 14:15Speaker 1: can do when it comes to the social media platforms
- 14:18Speaker 1: like having a YouTube channel and you know, having a
- 14:21Speaker 1: podcast and all that, then I realized, I'm like, oh, wait,
- 14:23Speaker 1: like you could really make a full career out of this,
- 14:25Speaker 1: wanting to start my own brand, Like there's so many
- 14:28Speaker 1: things you could do. And so that's when I realized
- 14:30Speaker 1: that I could definitely quit my nine to five and
- 14:33Speaker 1: do this full time. And again that was something I
- 14:35Speaker 1: fully risked by just taking the leap of leaving my
- 14:39Speaker 1: nine to five and just hoping that, you know, I
- 14:42Speaker 1: would make money out of doing this, and joining a
- 14:44Speaker 1: management team based in Los Angeles, not realizing, Okay, is
- 14:49Speaker 1: this a bad thing? Is this a good thing? Like
- 14:50Speaker 1: I don't really know what I'm doing, Like everything was
- 14:52Speaker 1: a risk. I just remember when I signed to a
- 14:55Speaker 1: management company. I was so emotional about it and leaving
- 14:57Speaker 1: my job because I knew right there that it was
- 15:01Speaker 1: going to change my life for the better. But at
- 15:03Speaker 1: the same time, I was so scared because I'm like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: my parents know nothing about this. I know nothing about this.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I'm fully just trusting these people that I met through
- 15:12Speaker 1: online and hoping that you know, this whole social media
- 15:16Speaker 1: thing is going to work out, or just trusting the
- 15:19Speaker 1: apps in general, right, like trusting TikTok, trusting Instagram. Like
- 15:22Speaker 1: I didn't really know what I was doing at the time,
- 15:24Speaker 1: Like I truly was just like, let's just see what happens.
- 15:27Speaker 1: And it was the best thing that I've ever done.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It has been the best for my mental health. It's
- 15:31Speaker 1: been the best career change for me. I feel like
- 15:34Speaker 1: this career was meant for me, and I just feel
- 15:36Speaker 1: like I was born to do this, Like I've always
- 15:38Speaker 1: been a very creative individual. I struggled in school so much,
- 15:43Speaker 1: Like so so much, guys. I didn't think I was
- 15:45Speaker 1: going to succeed in life because I wasn't good at science.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I wasn't good at English, I wasn't good at math.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Those were not my strong subjects. I was always very creative,
- 15:54Speaker 1: like art, tech, Jim, you name it. Like I was
- 15:58Speaker 1: just was always doing very well in those classes. And
- 16:01Speaker 1: I just always felt like I was never going to
- 16:03Speaker 1: be able to find a career that would make me
- 16:05Speaker 1: successful and that would you know, allow me to use
- 16:09Speaker 1: my strengths and just love a career so much because
- 16:13Speaker 1: I hear people talk about how miserable they are with
- 16:15Speaker 1: a career that they've chosen, and you know, they've decided
- 16:18Speaker 1: to just stay there because they make a lot of
- 16:20Speaker 1: money doing it. Like I never wanted that. I wanted
- 16:22Speaker 1: to love what I do, and I wanted to find
- 16:24Speaker 1: a career that I knew I could stick to and
- 16:26Speaker 1: do for a very long time. And that's where I'm at.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I took the risk. I created this career as my brand,
- 16:33Speaker 1: and I think it's become a very successful career, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: I'm very proud of myself. And this podcast has also
- 16:40Speaker 1: been a huge accomplishment for me as well, because I
- 16:42Speaker 1: didn't think I would ever be able to start a
- 16:44Speaker 1: pod gas and have such an amazing community of women,
- 16:48Speaker 1: feel so like inspired and it's the most rewarding job
- 16:53Speaker 1: in the world. So I'm so proud of myself for
- 16:55Speaker 1: taking that risk. So it's important for you to know
- 16:58Speaker 1: that if there's a career that you've been wanting to chase,
- 17:00Speaker 1: or if you've been wanting to seek change for some reason,
- 17:03Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now, sometimes it's worth the risk,
- 17:06Speaker 1: and that it's important to just trust your gut and
- 17:08Speaker 1: if you have a feeling that something that's going to happen,
- 17:11Speaker 1: if you take those risks, then just trust your gut
- 17:14Speaker 1: and follow through. Another lesson is you don't have to
- 17:17Speaker 1: have it all figured out. It's okay if you don't
- 17:19Speaker 1: know what you want to do in your life. I
- 17:21Speaker 1: didn't figure out what I wanted to do until I
- 17:23Speaker 1: was twenty four to twenty five. When I was in
- 17:25Speaker 1: my early twenties, I was so lost. I was honestly
- 17:28Speaker 1: just doing whatever I could to make money, Like I
- 17:31Speaker 1: just picked up any kind of job because I just
- 17:34Speaker 1: I don't know. At that point, you're done school and
- 17:38Speaker 1: you just want to get a career immediately, and I
- 17:40Speaker 1: just applied for a job and work there for a
- 17:43Speaker 1: few years and then realize that it wasn't for me,
- 17:46Speaker 1: and then that's when I took the risk to do
- 17:47Speaker 1: something different. So just know that it's okay to not
- 17:51Speaker 1: have things figured out and that good things will come
- 17:53Speaker 1: to you at the right time. Another one is, don't
- 17:56Speaker 1: take life so seriously, just enjoy it. At the end
- 17:59Speaker 1: of the day, life will go on. You will figure
- 18:02Speaker 1: it out. You just need to care less. And it's
- 18:04Speaker 1: really not that deep. I'm gonna mention it again. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: am very much a believer in what's meant to be
- 18:11Speaker 1: will be. And so when I think about you know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: maybe people applying for a new job, or you know,
- 18:17Speaker 1: just something that you wanted to accomplish for yourself and
- 18:20Speaker 1: it didn't happen, it's important to have that mindset of
- 18:24Speaker 1: not being overly stressed or not being overly hard on yourself,
- 18:27Speaker 1: because at the end of the day, if you didn't
- 18:28Speaker 1: get that job, it's because it wasn't supposed to be
- 18:31Speaker 1: for you. It wasn't meant to be. So you need
- 18:34Speaker 1: to go with that mindset of like, okay, I need
- 18:35Speaker 1: to apply to other places. You need to be able
- 18:38Speaker 1: to have that motivation for yourself and tell yourself that, Okay,
- 18:40Speaker 1: this wasn't supposed to happen. God didn't want me to
- 18:43Speaker 1: have this path. There is a different path for me
- 18:45Speaker 1: that I need to take. So I think it's important
- 18:48Speaker 1: to create that failure into motivation and push yourself to
- 18:53Speaker 1: keep applying for jobs, and then when the right one
- 18:55Speaker 1: shows up and you get that job, you're going to realize, WHOA,
- 18:59Speaker 1: it's a good thing I get that other job because
- 19:01Speaker 1: now I got the one that was supposed to happen,
- 19:04Speaker 1: and it's going to make me more money. It's going
- 19:06Speaker 1: to create a better career path for myself. All that.
- 19:09Speaker 1: So have that positive mindset, have that motivation, and have
- 19:13Speaker 1: that motto in your head that whatever's meant to be
- 19:15Speaker 1: will be, and that you don't need to take things
- 19:17Speaker 1: so seriously, just enjoy life. And again, it's not that deep.
- 19:20Speaker 1: I think another lesson that people don't really talk about
- 19:23Speaker 1: in your twenties is how fast it truly goes by.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Because thinking about my first year of college versus now,
- 19:30Speaker 1: like it really didn't feel that long ago. And I
- 19:34Speaker 1: think it's important to just slow down and realize that
- 19:37Speaker 1: we don't need to rush through life because you only
- 19:39Speaker 1: live once, and you only live in your twenties ones,
- 19:42Speaker 1: and that you just need to make the most of
- 19:45Speaker 1: every day. And if you want to travel or if
- 19:47Speaker 1: you want to live in a different city, you should
- 19:49Speaker 1: one hundred percent listen to your own gut and do that.
- 19:52Speaker 1: Like working is obviously essential in your life, but at
- 19:56Speaker 1: the same time, if you've been thinking about living in
- 19:58Speaker 1: a different country for a few months, you should just
- 20:00Speaker 1: quit that job and do that. Because again, you only
- 20:03Speaker 1: live once. It's important to just take your time in
- 20:05Speaker 1: your twenties to do things that truly make you happy
- 20:08Speaker 1: and things that you want to do for yourself. So yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 1: I think another thing is just being present. Those are
- 20:13Speaker 1: a few lessons that I just kind of wanted to
- 20:15Speaker 1: highlight because obviously, turning twenty nine is a big one
- 20:19Speaker 1: and I'm very, very excited to turn thirty next year,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and I think it's going to be a new chapter
- 20:25Speaker 1: of new beginnings and exciting things of you know, hopefully
- 20:29Speaker 1: having kids and building another home. And yeah, there's so
- 20:33Speaker 1: many things to look forward to in life. And again,
- 20:35Speaker 1: it's important just to take things slow and not feel
- 20:37Speaker 1: like you have this rush of getting everything done in
- 20:40Speaker 1: your twenties because there's so much to look forward to
- 20:43Speaker 1: in life. And yeah, like I can't wait for my
- 20:46Speaker 1: parents to have grandchildren. I can't wait for my parents
- 20:49Speaker 1: to be grandparents. I can't wait for my sister to
- 20:51Speaker 1: get married. Like There's so many things that I can
- 20:55Speaker 1: think of that I'm looking forward to, and like my
- 20:58Speaker 1: kids graduating, my kids get getting their jobs, my kids
- 21:01Speaker 1: getting married, Like, yeah, there's so many amazing things to
- 21:03Speaker 1: look forward to, so just fully, just enjoy the moment,
- 21:06Speaker 1: be present, do not rush things, and know that your
- 21:10Speaker 1: twenties will be a rollercoaster and it will be amazing.
- 21:13Speaker 1: But there's so much in life to look forward to
- 21:16Speaker 1: and that, yeah, your twenties will definitely change you for
- 21:20Speaker 1: the better. All Right, We're going to get into some
- 21:22Speaker 1: fashion and beauty products for spring. I kind of wanted
- 21:25Speaker 1: to tie this in because if you guys follow our
- 21:28Speaker 1: Instagram page, then you guys know that we made a
- 21:31Speaker 1: little questionnaire of asking you guys what kind of episode
- 21:33Speaker 1: you wanted to hear for the podcast this season. And
- 21:36Speaker 1: some of you guys really wanted me to highlight just
- 21:38Speaker 1: some things that are trending as well as some beauty
- 21:40Speaker 1: products for spring because the Sephorest sales happening this week.
- 21:43Speaker 1: So I figured I would just kind of throw in
- 21:46Speaker 1: a few things that I love that I think is
- 21:48Speaker 1: a need for the season, or just new things that
- 21:52Speaker 1: I've purchased myself at I think is worth the hype.
- 21:54Speaker 1: So that's what we're going to get into for the
- 21:56Speaker 1: second part of this episode. We're going to start with fashion.
- 21:59Speaker 1: The first thing that I think every girl needs in
- 22:01Speaker 1: their wardrobe is a trench coat. I have been wearing
- 22:03Speaker 1: my trench coat NonStop, to my workout classes, to copy dates,
- 22:08Speaker 1: to running errands the past few days. Has actually made
- 22:10Speaker 1: me realize how I think a trench coat is by
- 22:13Speaker 1: far my favorite coat that I own. Like I don't
- 22:16Speaker 1: like wearing a parka. I'm sure everyone can agree with that,
- 22:18Speaker 1: Like a winter coat is just it's not cute, it's
- 22:21Speaker 1: not asthetic. I've just mentally realized that it's just it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: not it. You can't make a winter coat look good,
- 22:26Speaker 1: but a trench coat makes you look so high end,
- 22:30Speaker 1: so chic. I just feel like I look so much
- 22:33Speaker 1: more like luxury when I wear a trench coat versus
- 22:36Speaker 1: any other coat that I own. I'm not even overexaggerating.
- 22:39Speaker 1: So the trench coat that I got is from a Ritzia.
- 22:41Speaker 1: You can definitely find ones that are more affordable off
- 22:43Speaker 1: Zara or H and M. But I invested one at
- 22:46Speaker 1: a Ritzia last season and I love it even more
- 22:49Speaker 1: this year. And I just think it's a staple for
- 22:52Speaker 1: everyone to have in their collection because I do think
- 22:54Speaker 1: this is a coat that I would wear for a
- 22:56Speaker 1: very long time. I love how I can dress it
- 22:57Speaker 1: up or wear it very casual. Opinion. It's the best
- 23:01Speaker 1: coat that any girl could own. Another coat is a
- 23:03Speaker 1: leather jacket. I always love wearing this when I'm going
- 23:06Speaker 1: out for drinks with my girlfriends or over a workout set.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Another great jacket to have for the spring season is
- 23:11Speaker 1: definitely another one or some type of bomber. I also
- 23:14Speaker 1: love wind breakers for the spring season, especially because it's
- 23:17Speaker 1: still quite chilli o. It's not fully warm yet, specifically
- 23:20Speaker 1: in the morning and night. I find I definitely need
- 23:22Speaker 1: to wear a coat for the next month or two
- 23:25Speaker 1: right now, going into May soon, I'm definitely still going
- 23:28Speaker 1: to need to wear a little jacket, So whether it's
- 23:30Speaker 1: a bomber, a leather jacket, or a wind breaker. There's
- 23:33Speaker 1: so many great coats. But yeah, I would definitely recommend
- 23:37Speaker 1: having that in your spring collection as well. I think
- 23:39Speaker 1: I mentioned this in my Favorites, but I am obsessed
- 23:42Speaker 1: with my Sulimon sneakers. I wore them for my entire
- 23:45Speaker 1: trip in Mexico, along with wearing them to the airport.
- 23:48Speaker 1: They are beyond comfortable, like, so so comfortable. I was
- 23:52Speaker 1: walking like, on average twelve to fifteen thousand steps a
- 23:56Speaker 1: day when I was in Mexico and they were the
- 23:58Speaker 1: most comfortable thing. So if you're looking for a new
- 24:00Speaker 1: sneaker to walk in for the summer season, I highly
- 24:03Speaker 1: recommend the Solomons. They have so many cute colors, so
- 24:06Speaker 1: many cute patterns. All that another cute sneaker for the
- 24:08Speaker 1: spring that I wouldn't really consider a walking shoe or
- 24:11Speaker 1: just like a cute, effortless sneaker that you want to
- 24:13Speaker 1: wear with a pair of jeans to run errands, to
- 24:16Speaker 1: go to a coffee shop. The Adida Sambas are still,
- 24:19Speaker 1: in my opinion, a very trendy shoe. I have both
- 24:22Speaker 1: the black and white. Lately, I've been wearing the black
- 24:25Speaker 1: pair more than the white, just because I think they're
- 24:27Speaker 1: newer and they're just cleaner. And I wore them when
- 24:30Speaker 1: I was in New York City in October for the
- 24:33Speaker 1: Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, and again I wore them walking
- 24:36Speaker 1: around New York City. They were honestly pretty comfortable for
- 24:38Speaker 1: the amount I was walking in New York. But I
- 24:41Speaker 1: love them so much. I find them so fashionable, so chic. Again,
- 24:44Speaker 1: you can wear them with jeans, you can wear them
- 24:46Speaker 1: like Lulemon leggings. I don't know. I find they look
- 24:48Speaker 1: good with everything, and imagine those with a trench coat.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I love it. It's so chic. It's perfect for the
- 24:54Speaker 1: spring season. Another thing that's becoming extremely popular, which I
- 24:57Speaker 1: also feel like is more for summer, maybe because it's
- 25:00Speaker 1: still a little cold right now. But Capris, Guys, I'm
- 25:03Speaker 1: obsessed with Capris. I'm telling you right now, I'm going
- 25:06Speaker 1: to be buying a denim pair, a black pair. I'm
- 25:09Speaker 1: hoping to wear it for like nice outfits going out
- 25:12Speaker 1: to dinner, Like I have so many outfits on my
- 25:15Speaker 1: Pinterest that I've saved with Capriz, and I'm like this
- 25:17Speaker 1: is it. I did not think the Capriz would be
- 25:19Speaker 1: coming back into style, but they are, and they look
- 25:22Speaker 1: good as hell. But they're coming back. They look so
- 25:25Speaker 1: good in my opinion, it's so fashionable and yeah, very
- 25:28Speaker 1: much giving spring summer vibes. The last thing I would
- 25:32Speaker 1: recommend for like a fashion trend that's happening for the
- 25:34Speaker 1: spring season is pestel colors. So whether it's like matching
- 25:37Speaker 1: PJ sets or matching workout sets, being in that like
- 25:40Speaker 1: baby blue, baby pink, pale yellow, oh my god, pale
- 25:44Speaker 1: yellow is one of my favorite colors. Purple, Like, that's
- 25:47Speaker 1: what I think of. I just think of those light
- 25:49Speaker 1: pale colors, and I find it looks so good on
- 25:52Speaker 1: anyone and any hair color. And yeah, I just find
- 25:55Speaker 1: it's essential for the spring season to have those very
- 25:58Speaker 1: pestel colors in your wardrobe. Also very random, but I've
- 26:02Speaker 1: been seeing so many girls post on TikTok about gap
- 26:05Speaker 1: and how they've been having the cutest like sweat sets
- 26:09Speaker 1: when it comes to the sweater and sweatpants, and the
- 26:11Speaker 1: colors have been very pestel vibes, like bright purple, bright blue,
- 26:16Speaker 1: bright yellow, And I'm like, maybe I need to hit
- 26:18Speaker 1: up gap and check out these sweat sets. But at
- 26:20Speaker 1: the same time, I have so many sweatsets and so
- 26:23Speaker 1: many sweaters that I'm like, I definitely don't need another one,
- 26:26Speaker 1: but I do not own a purple or yellow sweatsets,
- 26:29Speaker 1: so maybe it's worth going to check it out. All right, Now,
- 26:31Speaker 1: we're going to get into a few beauty products specifically
- 26:33Speaker 1: for the Sephoras sale. I wanted to talk about few.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I wanted to talk about a few products that I
- 26:39Speaker 1: recently purchased that I one hundred percent think is worth
- 26:42Speaker 1: your money, and one of them being is a skin tint.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I rave about skin tints all the time because I
- 26:49Speaker 1: do not like wearing a heavy foundation for every day.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I just want to wear something light with a little
- 26:53Speaker 1: bit of coverage, not too much. I want it to
- 26:55Speaker 1: look like it's my skin like. I want it to
- 26:57Speaker 1: look so natural that it doesn't even look like I'm
- 26:59Speaker 1: wearing my up. So the one that I just recently
- 27:02Speaker 1: purchased that was highly recommended from the Sephora associate was
- 27:07Speaker 1: Makeup Forever's new super Glow skin tint, and in my opinion,
- 27:10Speaker 1: it's amazing. It gives the most natural coverage and it
- 27:14Speaker 1: really does give that glowy base. I like to mix
- 27:17Speaker 1: it in with a serum, so I mix it with
- 27:19Speaker 1: the road Glazing milk and I personally find it gives
- 27:22Speaker 1: the perfect glowy, natural foundation look. That to me is
- 27:27Speaker 1: my favorite skin tint that I've tried. I've tried a few.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I've tried summer Fridays. I've tried the Coosest one and
- 27:33Speaker 1: they're good, but I don't know the one by Makeup Forever.
- 27:36Speaker 1: It's one of their newest product launches. I personally just
- 27:39Speaker 1: love it and I find it's a very natural finish
- 27:41Speaker 1: and I feel like that's really hard to find with
- 27:43Speaker 1: a skin tint. So yeah, that's one of my personal
- 27:46Speaker 1: favorites right now. Another thing I've been loving is Rare
- 27:49Speaker 1: Beauty's Contour stick along with her highlighter. It's like the
- 27:53Speaker 1: liquid highlighter. It's this gold color. I wish I knew
- 27:56Speaker 1: the name of the gold but anyways, those liquid blushes
- 28:00Speaker 1: Contours highlighters by Rare Beauty is so good. Like that's
- 28:04Speaker 1: probably my favorite product from Slene Gomes's line. Oh, I
- 28:07Speaker 1: also love Rare Beauty's mascara. Usually I don't ever like
- 28:12Speaker 1: purchase an expensive mascara. I'm usually like a drug store Laurel,
- 28:16Speaker 1: you know, die hard mascara girl, but Rare Beauty's mascara
- 28:20Speaker 1: did change my life. I feel like my lashes look
- 28:22Speaker 1: so long, and I have no lashes, like literally no
- 28:25Speaker 1: lashes at all. They're just straight. There's no curl to them.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I have to curl them. And I just find the
- 28:31Speaker 1: Rare Beauty mascara is like super thick, so it allows
- 28:33Speaker 1: me to like really get in there and just create
- 28:36Speaker 1: that like fullness and volume for my lashes. And yeah,
- 28:40Speaker 1: it's honestly really good. So if there was things that
- 28:43Speaker 1: I would recommend to get from Rare Beauty, it would
- 28:45Speaker 1: be their liquid contour blush and highlighter along with their mascara.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Another thing I've been loving is a gradual self tanner.
- 28:52Speaker 1: And obviously I just got back from Mexico, so I'm
- 28:55Speaker 1: very tanned right now, but I'm trying to maintain the
- 28:57Speaker 1: color by using a gradual tanner, and the one by
- 29:00Speaker 1: Lux Unfiltered is so good. Guys. It gives you that
- 29:04Speaker 1: very natural glow. It doesn't like look overly orange, which
- 29:08Speaker 1: is nice. I wanted to just look like a deep,
- 29:10Speaker 1: natural tan and what I love about it is that
- 29:13Speaker 1: it's a lotion. It's not like a self tanning moose,
- 29:16Speaker 1: so it doesn't transfer on your clothes. It doesn't transfer
- 29:18Speaker 1: on your bed, which is something that I freaking hate
- 29:21Speaker 1: when I self tann myself because I hate having to
- 29:23Speaker 1: clean my sheets like every few days. When I see
- 29:26Speaker 1: self tanner on it, it's just like one pet peeve
- 29:28Speaker 1: that I cannot just leave it, like I have to
- 29:31Speaker 1: completely change my bedding. For Christmas, I actually got a
- 29:33Speaker 1: spray tan kind of like a sleeping bag that I
- 29:36Speaker 1: could put on my bed so I could avoid washing
- 29:39Speaker 1: my sheets every few days after doing self tanner or
- 29:42Speaker 1: a spray tan or whatever the case may be. And
- 29:45Speaker 1: it definitely works well, but again it's not the most
- 29:47Speaker 1: comfortable thing, just because you can just feel that it's
- 29:50Speaker 1: not your bed, it's like a sleeping bag. So this
- 29:54Speaker 1: is the best gradual tanner that I've tried, and it's
- 29:57Speaker 1: on sale this weekend, and it just gives that like
- 30:00Speaker 1: very natural deep tan look, which is what I'm looking for.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And on top of it, it's also a lotion, so
- 30:06Speaker 1: it moisturizes your skin as well. And one of my
- 30:08Speaker 1: goals for this year was to really like prioritize body
- 30:11Speaker 1: care and yeah, so it's like the perfect combination of
- 30:14Speaker 1: getting a tan but also moisturizing your bodies. So ten
- 30:17Speaker 1: out of ten recommend I think it's really really good.
- 30:19Speaker 1: The last prodigal recommend I don't know if this is
- 30:21Speaker 1: at Sephora. This is the only issue, but I've seen
- 30:23Speaker 1: people talk about it on TikTok a lot, and that's
- 30:26Speaker 1: Kapari's brand. They are an SBF company and they do
- 30:30Speaker 1: like SBF sprays. But what's so amazing about it is
- 30:34Speaker 1: that they have these like SBF glow facial sprays and
- 30:38Speaker 1: it creates this like glow on your face that makes
- 30:41Speaker 1: your skin look like glass. I'm not even kidding, literally
- 30:44Speaker 1: looks like glass. And I got it from Revolve before
- 30:47Speaker 1: they sold out, and it is so shiny, so glowy.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I personally don't like using it for every day. I
- 30:53Speaker 1: would probably use it when I'm going out. I actually
- 30:57Speaker 1: use it for my birthday and I was giving that glow.
- 30:59Speaker 1: But I don't really think I would use it for
- 31:00Speaker 1: every single day. But the fact that has SPF in
- 31:03Speaker 1: it is crazy to me. So if you're going on
- 31:05Speaker 1: vacation and you want that, like glowy glass skin look
- 31:09Speaker 1: that you want to do for like a nighttime look,
- 31:12Speaker 1: highly recommend the brand Kapari. Or if you just want
- 31:15Speaker 1: that glowy look for your SPF, for your sunscreen for
- 31:19Speaker 1: a vacation, that's another brand that you have to look at.
- 31:21Speaker 1: I don't think through at Seppora, but I do think
- 31:23Speaker 1: through at Revolve, and again you should just check out
- 31:26Speaker 1: through products because it's a new brand that I'm just
- 31:28Speaker 1: finding out about. I think it's only been around for
- 31:30Speaker 1: a year or two, but it's new to me and
- 31:32Speaker 1: their products are ten out of ten. But those are
- 31:34Speaker 1: a few beauty and fashion products that I would recommend
- 31:37Speaker 1: for the spring season. I didn't have too many because
- 31:40Speaker 1: I did do a recent Favorites episode if you guys
- 31:43Speaker 1: want to listen to that. I think it was from
- 31:45Speaker 1: like four or five episodes ago, and I kind of
- 31:46Speaker 1: talked about some similar things. But these are just some
- 31:49Speaker 1: new things that I've recently got that I thought I
- 31:50Speaker 1: would share and some things that I've just been loving
- 31:53Speaker 1: for the spring season when it comes to fashion and
- 31:56Speaker 1: beauty products. But I really wanted to make this episode
- 31:59Speaker 1: more about me entering my twenty ninth year and talking
- 32:02Speaker 1: about some lessons that I've learned for these past few years,
- 32:05Speaker 1: and just things that I'm looking forward to for the
- 32:07Speaker 1: last year of my twenties. So I love you guys
- 32:10Speaker 1: allso much. Thank you guys for listening. If you guys
- 32:12Speaker 1: are new, definitely make sure to follow at the Hawcrow
- 32:14Speaker 1: Energy Instagram page. You can also follow me Kayleie. I'm
- 32:18Speaker 1: on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. But I love you guys
- 32:21Speaker 1: allso much. Thank you guys for listening, and I will
- 32:23Speaker 1: see you guys in next week's episode.
