- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, Jen. You're on the air. How are you?
- 0:02Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 0:03Speaker 3: I'm good. How are you?
- 0:04Speaker 4: Good.
- 0:05Speaker 1: What's up?
- 0:07Speaker 3: So I was, um, I was listening to the Dolly
- 0:09Speaker 3: Parton song you played and it was like wrecking my brain.
- 0:12Speaker 3: I'm like, I know, I know this song. I've heard
- 0:15Speaker 3: this song. I know what that song is, but I'm like,
- 0:18Speaker 3: but it sounds so familiar. And I'm like, this sounds
- 0:23Speaker 3: so much like ghetto superstar. And, um, I called in
- 0:28Speaker 3: and I was talking to Dylan, and I'm like, it
- 0:32Speaker 3: sounds so much like it. I swear, I swear, there's
- 0:36Speaker 3: songs that artists, the covers don't count, but artists, they
- 0:43Speaker 3: go to bat to each other. They say they stole
- 0:46Speaker 3: each other's songs. But I just was wondering, what's your
- 0:51Speaker 3: take of it? And then Dylan and I looked it up,
- 0:56Speaker 3: And before I say what Dylan and I found, like,
- 1:00Speaker 3: what do you think?
- 1:01Speaker 5: If they stole the song?
- 1:02Speaker 1: No, they sampled it.
- 1:03Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, definitely sampled it.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Praz and Wyclef from Fugees.
- 1:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Dylan looked it up and they sampled it. I
- 1:10Speaker 3: was like, what? I didn't know that. And I just
- 1:13Speaker 3: was seeing if there's any songs that, you know, because
- 1:16Speaker 3: you were just talking about how, you know, the girl
- 1:19Speaker 3: said she doesn't buy that radio show host. like the
- 1:25Speaker 3: songs they listen to.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 3: And so that got me thinking, and I was wondering
- 1:29Speaker 3: what songs do you guys hear all the time that
- 1:31Speaker 3: you're just like, man, it just sounds just like this song.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Oh, that happens all the time. All the time.
- 1:36Speaker 6: That happens all the time, yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And a lot of songs are like that. They sample
- 1:39Speaker 1: other songs. Drake does it a lot.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just like, it's just irrefutable sometimes.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Oh, irrefutable. Okay. Okay. Don't give big words.
- 1:49Speaker 6: No, I'm saying some of them, well, hi.
- 1:52Speaker 4: Hi.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I did win Minutes Winner, so.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Oh.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Oh, you're the Minutes Winner. Oh, smart Jen. It's smart Jen, everyone.
- 2:04Speaker 3: I had to.
- 2:04Speaker 7: I had to.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I had to.
- 2:06Speaker 8: I'm not talking.
- 2:07Speaker 2: I don't know if you heard, but somebody almost came
- 2:09Speaker 2: for your crown today. She got close.
- 2:11Speaker 3: What?
- 2:11Speaker 2: Mary got up to nine.
- 2:13Speaker 6: I want to share my crown.
- 2:14Speaker 3: I want to share my crown.
- 2:15Speaker 7: It's fun.
- 2:19Speaker 1: All right, Jen. Thanks for listening. Happy Dog Day.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Love you guys.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Happy dog day. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's natural dog day today. We got diamond back tickets,
- 2:38Speaker 1: a four pack. We want to get into who's in
- 2:41Speaker 1: the dog house right now. Daisy, for whatever reason, guy
- 2:44Speaker 1: or girl, why are you in the dog house? Daisy,
- 2:46Speaker 1: why are you in the dog house?
- 2:48Speaker 8: Um, my wife was in the dog house. Um, this, uh,
- 2:51Speaker 8: So about a year or two into dating, I decided
- 2:55Speaker 8: to surprise her. She's a country fan, so I got
- 2:58Speaker 8: tickets to a country fan fest.
- 3:00Speaker 7: While we were there, everything was fun. She was like, just.
- 3:03Speaker 8: Don't dance with anybody, whatever, you know, just don't accept
- 3:06Speaker 8: anybody's dancing invitation. I was like, okay, sure, whatever. Her
- 3:10Speaker 8: main guy, this is Sunday, last day, her main guy
- 3:12Speaker 8: comes on stage. I feel honored to, I mean, I
- 3:15Speaker 8: feel like I went to go get her a beer
- 3:18Speaker 8: and then I come back and she's dancing with somebody else.
- 3:21Speaker 8: I was like, what the heck?
- 3:23Speaker 3: Like, you told me not to dance with anybody.
- 3:25Speaker 8: So I basically just sat down, grabbed my chair, because
- 3:27Speaker 8: it was a lawn chair type of thing, and I
- 3:29Speaker 8: grabbed my lawn chair and I just left.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Oh. I mean, that's crossing a line.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Doghouse, for sure.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Doghouse, Daisy. Thank you, Daisy. Brooke, why are you in
- 3:39Speaker 1: the doghouse?
- 3:42Speaker 9: Well, I wasn't in the doghouse, but my boyfriend was.
- 3:46Speaker 9: We play Call of Duty as.
- 3:50Speaker 9: You know, a whole lot of other people. And I'm
- 3:53Speaker 9: normally the fourth person on the team and had been
- 3:56Speaker 9: for about a week, two weeks up until my birthday.
- 3:59Speaker 9: And then on the night of my birthday, I just
- 4:02Speaker 9: wanted to stay home and play Call of Duty. And
- 4:05Speaker 9: he looked at me and said, oh, our squad's full,
- 4:08Speaker 9: but I'll let you know if a spot opens up.
- 4:10Speaker 7: I said, well, it's my birthday. He said, I'll let
- 4:13Speaker 7: you know if.
- 4:13Speaker 9: A spot opens up. It was to the point my
- 4:16Speaker 9: bonus daughter looked at me and said, Sue, I need
- 4:18Speaker 9: to go download it so I can play it with you.
- 4:20Speaker 9: And I was just like almost in tears.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Because I'm like, no.
- 4:27Speaker 7: She just walked away and was like.
- 4:30Speaker 8: She just looked like she was about to cry.
- 4:32Speaker 10: It just hurt my heart.
- 4:33Speaker 5: At least she had your back.
- 4:35Speaker 9: So, yeah, he was in the dollhouse for a hot minute.
- 4:38Speaker 9: And I still haven't let him live it down, to
- 4:40Speaker 9: be honest.
- 4:41Speaker 1: That's good. Thank you, Brooke. 877- 937-1047. It's National Dog Day.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Tell us why you are in the doghouse or someone
- 4:48Speaker 1: in your life is in the doghouse. We'll talk to
- 4:50Speaker 1: you after. Bruno.
- 4:51Speaker 5: I'd risk it all for you.
- 5:02Speaker 1: National Dog Day. We thought we'd want to know why
- 5:05Speaker 1: are you in the doghouse? Stacey, good morning.
- 5:08Speaker 6: Good morning.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Why are you in the doghouse, Stacey? I don't know.
- 5:12Speaker 10: I'm not in the doghouse, but my husband is in
- 5:16Speaker 10: the doghouse because 32 years ago on our wedding day,
- 5:22Speaker 10: his groomsman stayed all night with us because he was
- 5:27Speaker 10: too cheap to get us a hotel room on our
- 5:31Speaker 10: wedding night.
- 5:32Speaker 2: So everybody was at the house?
- 5:34Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 5:35Speaker 10: So we just get into bed and I hear this
- 5:39Speaker 10: pounding on our window. And it's his groomsmen and his
- 5:43Speaker 10: girlfriend trying to get in the house so they could
- 5:48Speaker 10: stay all night because they didn't bother to rent a
- 5:52Speaker 10: hotel room either when they drove three.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And a half hours.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So he's been in the doghouse for 32 years?
- 5:59Speaker 7: Yeah, pretty much.
- 6:00Speaker 10: In fact, I told him you guys were going to
- 6:02Speaker 10: be calling and asking about being in the doghouse. And
- 6:07Speaker 10: He goes, oh, God, now what? And I told him,
- 6:10Speaker 10: and he goes, you're going to just start getting all
- 6:12Speaker 10: mad all over again.
- 6:14Speaker 2: See, he knows you well after all these years.
- 6:17Speaker 6: I am.
- 6:17Speaker 10: Like, I had to get up and go grab a
- 6:19Speaker 10: glass of wine to calm myself down from 32 years ago.
- 6:25Speaker 1: That's a good one, Stacey. 32 years in the doghouse. Josh,
- 6:28Speaker 1: what about you? Who's in the doghouse?
- 6:31Speaker 4: Oh, so it's not me. It's actually a buddy of mine.
- 6:35Speaker 4: But he decided to go out on Mother's Day. And
- 6:38Speaker 4: he took one of his kids with him, and they
- 6:40Speaker 4: went out on Mother's Day. And the mom thought they
- 6:43Speaker 4: were going to come back with this great surprise. And
- 6:47Speaker 4: he comes rolling up in a brand-new charger for him.
- 6:54Speaker 7: Wow.
- 6:56Speaker 2: You know, I get why you're passing that around, because
- 6:59Speaker 2: you passing that story around makes you look so much
- 7:01Speaker 2: better than him right now. That would sting. Yeah, it would.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that's good, Josh. That's good, Josh. Ray, why
- 7:09Speaker 1: are you in the doghouse?
- 7:12Speaker 7: I'm not in the doghouse yet, but I'm going to be.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Okay, why?
- 7:18Speaker 7: Because this morning, I hit the same pole at QT
- 7:25Speaker 7: that my mother-in-law totaled her car on last week. And
- 7:31Speaker 7: now I have to tell my husband. Actually, it wasn't
- 7:33Speaker 7: even me. It was my son. 15-year-old daughter with her permit,
- 7:37Speaker 7: and he's not going to want her to drive anymore.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 7:41Speaker 2: The same poll.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Which QT? What part of town?
- 7:45Speaker 7: In North Phoenix.
- 7:47Speaker 11: She's like, it's hereditary.
- 7:50Speaker 5: Grandma did it.
- 7:53Speaker 2: That's kind of why it's the same poll at the
- 7:55Speaker 2: same QT. Claimed two cars in the family.
- 7:58Speaker 5: The poll moved there. If it happened twice, you are
- 8:02Speaker 5: not the problem.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I tell you what, Ray, what if you told your
- 8:03Speaker 1: husband when you tell him, you say, but I did
- 8:05Speaker 1: win Diamondback tickets.
- 8:08Speaker 7: That would be something.
- 8:09Speaker 1: All right, done deal. You got it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: We'll give you the Diamondback tickets. Yeah, we don't want
- 8:12Speaker 2: you guys getting any more trouble.
- 8:13Speaker 1: All right, Ray.
- 8:14Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 8:15Speaker 1: You got it. Thanks for listening. Hold on the line.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Drive safe. Speaking of driving, Peyton, what is the thing
- 8:24Speaker 1: you're talking about on the freeway?
- 8:25Speaker 5: Literally so insane.
- 8:28Speaker 12: I posted a video on our Instagram at John Jane
- 8:30Speaker 12: Rich so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.
- 8:32Speaker 5: So on the 101, there is.
- 8:35Speaker 12: So when you're driving, you know how you have the
- 8:37Speaker 12: HOV lane, then you have the regular lane, right?
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah, of course.
- 8:40Speaker 12: So a couple years ago, they said if you have
- 8:42Speaker 12: an electric car, then you can drive in the HOV lane.
- 8:44Speaker 12: And then I think it was earlier this year or
- 8:46Speaker 12: at the end of last year, they said, nope, if
- 8:48Speaker 12: you have an electric car, you can't drive in the
- 8:50Speaker 12: HOV lane.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It is why I bought an electric car. It is
- 8:51Speaker 2: why I sold my electric car.
- 8:52Speaker 1: It was in a setup, right, to get an electric car.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 8:55Speaker 1: It's so lame they changed that.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Well, so now they changed it, and now.
- 8:58Speaker 12: Police officers are really putting their foot down on single
- 9:01Speaker 12: riders driving in the HOV lane. I was driving to
- 9:04Speaker 12: the Mercury game with my brother yesterday and we look
- 9:06Speaker 12: over on the 101 and there is literally HOV checkpoints
- 9:12Speaker 12: where officers are pulling people over if you're in the
- 9:15Speaker 12: HOV lane.
- 9:16Speaker 5: But it's only in the lanes where.
- 9:19Speaker 12: It has that barrier that separates you from the other lane,
- 9:22Speaker 12: so you can't get out of there.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Like the double line? Yeah. No, not the double line.
- 9:25Speaker 12: It's the one that has those big cement blocks.
- 9:28Speaker 5: So once you get over there, you cannot get out.
- 9:31Speaker 1: They're pulling over single drivers.
- 9:33Speaker 7: Correct.
- 9:33Speaker 5: Well, they should.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Yeah, but in electric cars now, too. So a lot
- 9:37Speaker 2: of people probably don't even have that memo yet. That
- 9:39Speaker 2: you can't go in an electric car. Because it was
- 9:42Speaker 2: a big selling point two years ago.
- 9:44Speaker 11: They're going to get the memo now.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Truly.
- 9:46Speaker 5: And I mean, it was wild.
- 9:47Speaker 12: There was literally six different cars pulled over on the
- 9:52Speaker 12: HOV lane. And all the cars that have two people,
- 9:54Speaker 12: they're just waving you through.
- 9:55Speaker 5: But I thought that that was wild to see. Well, good.
- 9:58Speaker 1: They're breaking the law.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Like a DUI checkpoint. Literally. But I was like, I
- 10:03Speaker 5: cannot believe that this is happening.
- 10:04Speaker 2: That's a pretty expensive ticket.
- 10:06Speaker 11: Peyton's blown away because she has driven in the HOV lane.
- 10:10Speaker 2: She's like a single rider before. Right.
- 10:12Speaker 12: I know my freeways out here in Arizona. And I
- 10:17Speaker 12: have ridden in the HOV lane Probably every single day
- 10:20Speaker 12: that I've driven, but I recently got an HOV ticket
- 10:23Speaker 12: and I was.
- 10:23Speaker 6: Like, what?
- 10:24Speaker 2: How much is it?
- 10:26Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 10:26Speaker 2: They're like 300 bucks, aren't they?
- 10:28Speaker 1: You're not supposed to do that. I know. It pisses
- 10:32Speaker 1: me off.
- 10:32Speaker 5: It's okay to pull people over.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's one of the reasons there's bumper-to-bumper traffic because these
- 10:36Speaker 1: fools in the HOV lane. If you have a carpool
- 10:39Speaker 1: and you can go in the HOV lane, you should
- 10:41Speaker 1: be able to go. But some fool is in there
- 10:42Speaker 1: by themselves going 40 miles an hour, slowing everybody up.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Way to go, police. I'm a big supporter of that.
- 10:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's crazy. You can see the video on our Instagram,
- 10:50Speaker 5: at JohnJayandRich.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I was just looking at it.
- 10:51Speaker 5: I literally was like, oh.
- 10:53Speaker 2: What? Checkpoints, watch out. You know what?
- 10:57Speaker 1: I was on all those freeways. I was over on
- 10:59Speaker 1: your side of town yesterday because I have, in fact,
- 11:03Speaker 1: we got a little bit of food news. Do we
- 11:04Speaker 1: have the food news intro? Our new food news intro.
- 11:07Speaker 1: John Jay and Rich present.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Food News!
- 11:11Speaker 1: Since Kyle had something to say about Michelin, there's something
- 11:13Speaker 1: going on here with the Michelin star.
- 11:15Speaker 12: Michelin.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Michelin? Is that how it is? I don't know what
- 11:17Speaker 1: it is.
- 11:17Speaker 2: They're French. Michelin.
- 11:19Speaker 11: Like the really fancy foo-foo restaurants, they, I don't know,
- 11:23Speaker 11: they get a bigger ego when they get Michelin stars.
- 11:25Speaker 11: It's like a big thing in the food world. It's
- 11:27Speaker 11: like one of the highest awards your restaurant can get.
- 11:29Speaker 11: And Arizona's never really had any Michelin-awarded restaurants until now.
- 11:32Speaker 11: They've been like secretly... going to all of the fancy
- 11:35Speaker 11: restaurants here in Arizona, and tonight they're doing some award
- 11:38Speaker 11: ceremony where they may actually, for the first time, award
- 11:40Speaker 11: some Arizona restaurants with Michelin stars.
- 11:42Speaker 1: So there's not one Michelin star restaurant in this state?
- 11:45Speaker 5: Apparently not.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So I was having dinner with my uncles. I'm half Mexican,
- 11:51Speaker 1: and my uncle's from Mexico. They call me. This is
- 11:53Speaker 1: how it works when you're Mexican. We're in town. We
- 11:54Speaker 1: have dinner tonight. When? In a half hour. They don't
- 11:57Speaker 1: say I'm coming to town in a week.
- 11:59Speaker 2: No, why would they?
- 12:00Speaker 1: So I met them for dinner last night, and at dinner,
- 12:02Speaker 1: my uncle was telling me, Oh, he was in Thailand
- 12:05Speaker 1: and he ate at a Michelin restaurant. And he said
- 12:07Speaker 1: it was a hole in the wall. And I said,
- 12:09Speaker 1: I thought those have you have to be fancy. He goes, no.
- 12:13Speaker 1: And I was like, I didn't know that. I thought
- 12:14Speaker 1: that when you hear Michelin in New York, you.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Have to tuck in your shirt. That's what I thought too.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It's like, you know, things you can't pronounce.
- 12:19Speaker 1: But I don't know. Like maybe somebody can Google how
- 12:21Speaker 1: Michelin works. But I can tell you this. I ate
- 12:23Speaker 1: at a restaurant last night that I thought I'd eaten
- 12:25Speaker 1: there before, but maybe I'm wrong. But it was incredible.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Absolutely delicious. It was Thai food and it deserves a
- 12:33Speaker 1: Michelin star. And it's called Thai Rama.
- 12:37Speaker 8: Thai Rama.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Thai Rama. It's over. It's in Chandler. I forgot what
- 12:41Speaker 1: street it's on, Dobson or something like that.
- 12:43Speaker 11: Okay, so here's how you get a Michelin star. They're
- 12:46Speaker 11: awarded by anonymous Michelin inspectors who visit restaurants. They pay
- 12:51Speaker 11: for the meals just like regular customers, so you'll never
- 12:53Speaker 11: know who they were. And they judge on five main things,
- 12:56Speaker 11: quality of ingredients, mastery of cooking techniques, harmony of flavors,
- 13:00Speaker 11: the chef's personality coming through in the food, and consistency
- 13:04Speaker 11: over time and across visits. One star is very good cooking,
- 13:08Speaker 11: worth a stop. Two stars is excellent cooking, worth a detour.
- 13:11Speaker 11: Three stars is exceptional cuisine worth a special journey.
- 13:16Speaker 1: How does a chef's personality come through on their food?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Well, you've got to be that good. You've got to
- 13:19Speaker 2: be that good. Because now I'm thinking.
- 13:20Speaker 1: About my food last night.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Their culture could come through.
- 13:23Speaker 1: The what?
- 13:23Speaker 4: The culture?
- 13:23Speaker 2: Their culture could come through.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Okay, because I was at a Thai food restaurant last night,
- 13:26Speaker 1: and it was delicious, but I couldn't see the chef going, huh?
- 13:30Speaker 1: He comes out juggling.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Hilarious, huh?
- 13:32Speaker 1: Do you like the Pad Thai? Do you like juggling?
- 13:36Speaker 2: It is the tire people, right? Like, it's the same
- 13:38Speaker 2: people as the tire people?
- 13:39Speaker 11: So, like, if I were going to award something a
- 13:41Speaker 11: Michelin star, I'd probably say the churros or the raspberry
- 13:46Speaker 11: macaroons at Disneyland. Because, I mean, I don't go to
- 13:48Speaker 11: Disneyland very often, but every time I've been there, those
- 13:50Speaker 11: are delicious.
- 13:51Speaker 10: Every time.
- 13:52Speaker 1: I wonder how they could pull that off so each
- 13:53Speaker 1: cart would have a Michelin star.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I wonder how they pull it off at Disneyland.
- 13:57Speaker 11: Or I wonder if some carts are more consistent than
- 13:58Speaker 11: the other carts.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah, they need to make it. The Michelin star needs
- 14:01Speaker 2: to be food of the people. Like I would do
- 14:03Speaker 2: the bean and cheese burrito at some burros. It's amazing.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And then that rice is always spot on too.
- 14:09Speaker 11: I would have given the Mexi-Melt at Taco Bell a
- 14:11Speaker 11: Michelin star. Then they got rid of it, but now
- 14:13Speaker 11: they're bringing it back.
- 14:13Speaker 5: It's back.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Coming back.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I swear I feel like there's Michelin stars here.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I actually thought.
- 14:17Speaker 5: I know that there's James Beard award winners here.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a couple of those.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And James Bond.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Hold on.
- 14:23Speaker 1: We might have a Michelin expert. Claudia, what do you know? Claudia.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Oh, hi, guys.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Hey.
- 14:32Speaker 9: So you guys were talking about Michelin stars.
- 14:36Speaker 6: And my husband and I got in this debate a
- 14:37Speaker 6: little while back. I'm like, oh, they're so foo-foo-y. So
- 14:40Speaker 6: I started deep diving where it came from. And a
- 14:43Speaker 6: Michelin star actually was a marketing ploy by the Michelin brothers,
- 14:49Speaker 6: I believe, in France.
- 14:51Speaker 9: And it was for tires.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they're tire people. If the tire people think your
- 14:56Speaker 2: food is good, then you get a Michelin star.
- 14:58Speaker 11: That makes sense, though, because if the tire people think
- 15:00Speaker 11: it's good, they think you can drive far to get it.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what good tires do.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Michelin is upscale.
- 15:03Speaker 2: That's exactly what it was, Kyle.
- 15:05Speaker 7: That's exactly what it was.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Maybe we do something for normal food.
- 15:08Speaker 10: Basically, they sent out the Michelin guide.
- 15:11Speaker 6: Sorry, go ahead, John Jay.
- 15:12Speaker 7: My apologies. I have a lag there.
- 15:14Speaker 1: No, go ahead. You go.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Basically, what they had was in the 1900s, they had
- 15:19Speaker 6: a Michelin travel guide, and they found if they started
- 15:23Speaker 6: going around and putting restaurants into it, that people would
- 15:26Speaker 6: drive further to eat.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it was like pre-Yelp.
- 15:29Speaker 11: Okay, so that makes sense because this is the first
- 15:31Speaker 11: year that they've added Arizona to their restaurant guide.
- 15:34Speaker 12: Why?
- 15:35Speaker 11: So tonight's the night.
- 15:36Speaker 1: That makes no sense to me. People have been driving,
- 15:38Speaker 1: you've got Route 66 through here. Why wouldn't there be
- 15:40Speaker 1: restaurants there? And there's a lot of fancy restaurants here.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Now more than ever, don't you think?
- 15:44Speaker 1: So we should come up with, instead of the Michelin
- 15:46Speaker 1: for the Fufu restaurants, we can do the Discount Tire.
- 15:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Discount Tire restaurant. Tony down with our Big O Tire.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Something like that. Okay, man. Here's the Discount Tire. That's
- 15:55Speaker 1: where you put the Taco Bell star.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Like that.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Well, it just became like, yeah, sorry, I was just
- 16:00Speaker 6: going to say really quick, the restaurant, like literally, it
- 16:03Speaker 6: became so popular. That's when they started hiring the anonymous
- 16:07Speaker 6: people to go out and give them. And it was
- 16:11Speaker 6: a three-star scale. So that's, it was a full-on just
- 16:15Speaker 6: marketing ploy.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Okay, so Kyle, you're saying they're announcing it tonight?
- 16:19Speaker 12: Yeah.
- 16:19Speaker 1: So tomorrow we will know what.
- 16:21Speaker 5: Is the Michelin.
- 16:21Speaker 11: Tomorrow we should know if or how many restaurants in
- 16:24Speaker 11: Arizona now are Michelin-starred restaurants.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Do we know what restaurants are in the running?
- 16:28Speaker 11: I have no idea because they go anonymously, so restaurants
- 16:31Speaker 11: don't even know they're being evaluated.
- 16:32Speaker 1: But it's got to be... I bet you one of
- 16:34Speaker 1: them is that Monarch restaurant. Oh, yeah, for sure. Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: that's way foo-foo. What if it's not just foo-foo restaurants, though?
- 16:40Speaker 1: Because the place you went to.
- 16:41Speaker 7: But the food isn't good.
- 16:43Speaker 1: At Monarch?
- 16:44Speaker 7: Like, It's all right.
- 16:46Speaker 6: Like, I've never had mind-blowing food there. Like, I went
- 16:49Speaker 6: the first time, and I was so excited, and I'm
- 16:51Speaker 6: not going to lie. Like, I don't think I had
- 16:52Speaker 6: mind-blowing food.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Claudia's a food person. The thing about that restaurant is
- 16:58Speaker 1: I think it's the personality and the atmosphere. You walk in,
- 17:00Speaker 1: and you're like, I remember I went there, I think
- 17:02Speaker 1: it was for Valentine's Day, and it's like a seven-
- 17:04Speaker 1: or eight-course meal, and they bring out venison, and they
- 17:07Speaker 1: bring out duck-billed platypus, and they bring out stuff like that,
- 17:11Speaker 1: and you're like, whoa.
- 17:12Speaker 4: Whoa.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Claudia, who should get a Michelin star? What's your favorite place?
- 17:17Speaker 7: Gosh, okay.
- 17:19Speaker 6: So I don't know that I have a favorite place,
- 17:21Speaker 6: but I have like favorite meals that I've eaten.
- 17:24Speaker 2: Give us one killer.
- 17:28Speaker 6: There was a, oh gosh, it's a small, shoot, I
- 17:31Speaker 6: can't remember the name of it.
- 17:33Speaker 7: It was a, I said shoot.
- 17:35Speaker 9: I didn't say the other one.
- 17:39Speaker 6: They had a full on beer pairing with Every meal
- 17:44Speaker 6: had mole in it. Everything from the starters all the
- 17:48Speaker 6: way through. And the chef, it's.
- 17:53Speaker 7: In Tempe.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Shoot, I'm not going to remember the name of it.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Your site's lowered. McDonald's fries needs a Michelin star. They're
- 18:00Speaker 2: the best.
- 18:01Speaker 6: Well, okay.
- 18:02Speaker 9: Well, there's that.
- 18:03Speaker 7: Yeah, 100%. The only fries out there.
- 18:05Speaker 6: But yeah, I think there's a multitude of out there.
- 18:09Speaker 6: But Dante's right in the fact that Monarch is an event.
- 18:12Speaker 6: You go and eat there, and it's an entire event.
- 18:15Speaker 6: It's not just necessarily the food, but it's everything that
- 18:18Speaker 6: goes along with it.
- 18:18Speaker 7: But I think Michelin is food-based.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Okay, we'll find out. We'll find out. Hold on, Clyde.
- 18:23Speaker 1: We'll get your number. I'm excited.
- 18:24Speaker 4: All right. Hold on.
- 18:25Speaker 1: We'll get your number. We'll call you tomorrow. Let's discuss
- 18:27Speaker 1: who got the Michelin star.
- 18:29Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 18:30Speaker 6: Yes, I'm excited.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Okay, hold on. Dylan, get her number so we call
- 18:32Speaker 1: her tomorrow.
