- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, guys, welcome back to wise practice. Bill Krackenberger over
- 0:02Speaker 1: here in Atlantic City. Had to come here for a
- 0:04Speaker 1: couple of nights. I'll be back tomorrow. John Orlando in
- 0:08Speaker 1: his backyard with the humming birds and outdoor foliage claire
- 0:13Speaker 1: ed rainbows, lollipops and sunshine for Johnny O. And I'm
- 0:18Speaker 1: here on the road working, trying to grind out a living.
- 0:20Speaker 1: It is what it is. Yeah, I know of all
- 0:24Speaker 1: about what's going on there. Hey, John, everyone is asking
- 0:27Speaker 1: me Kentucky Derby, I guess last year this Saturday, Yeah,
- 0:33Speaker 1: but last year, I guess. I guess we gave out
- 0:38Speaker 1: the winter. Well I should say that a guest that's
- 0:41Speaker 1: been on our show many times gave out the winner.
- 0:45Speaker 1: And you know so. Let me just tell you though,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Paul Mattice and his brother some of the only winning
- 0:51Speaker 1: horse race guys I've ever met in my life. It's
- 0:52Speaker 1: only been two or three that I have met that
- 0:54Speaker 1: I beat the horse races and legitimately not you know,
- 0:59Speaker 1: doping horses or something something like that. These guys are
- 1:02Speaker 1: the Mattis brothers are very very sharp guys. Both follow
- 1:06Speaker 1: me on Twitter. They're great. They're both great follows on
- 1:09Speaker 1: Twitter also Paul Matisa and his brother Duke. So with
- 1:14Speaker 1: the caws in these computer automated what's going on now
- 1:17Speaker 1: with the horse racing community? Even Duke put a comment
- 1:22Speaker 1: on one of my tweets about the c aws and said,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I can't beat it right now? What's going on? I
- 1:28Speaker 1: haven't bet a horse in a year, so literally, But
- 1:31Speaker 1: last year Paul gave us the winner of the Kentucky Derby.
- 1:37Speaker 1: As everyone asking me what they did and who they
- 1:39Speaker 1: like in the Derby, and there's something I can go
- 1:42Speaker 1: to the guys in the room here who won the
- 1:44Speaker 1: Derby last year, guys Sovereignty. Okay, so Sovereignty won the
- 1:49Speaker 1: Derby last year, and Paul gave us that I had
- 1:51Speaker 1: no idea. I paid eighteen dollars I forgot.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah I remember eighteen to one. Yeah, yeah, it was
- 1:55Speaker 2: a good one.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Let me read you Paul's text first, because people want
- 1:58Speaker 1: to know about that.
- 2:00Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I can't do anyth Okay, okay, okay, my brother and
- 2:05Speaker 1: I okay, hold on, here's what you could say partially
- 2:11Speaker 1: or holy, let's say it. Holy. There is a whole
- 2:14Speaker 1: lot of holes. There's a whole lot of holes. Meet Okay, yeah, okay,
- 2:23Speaker 1: there was a lot of holes in the American horses
- 2:26Speaker 1: this year. Ten to twelve of them aren't fast enough
- 2:29Speaker 1: to win, and like I said, the five or six
- 2:31Speaker 1: favorites all have negatives about them. Renegade is the best
- 2:36Speaker 1: American horse, but he drew the number one post, and
- 2:38Speaker 1: his trainer and jockey are great, but they both have
- 2:41Speaker 1: terrible records in the Derby. He will probably go off
- 2:44Speaker 1: higher odds than he should because of his post. But
- 2:48Speaker 1: there's too many questions. Everybody says it's not if, but
- 2:52Speaker 1: when Japan is going to win a Derby, but they
- 2:55Speaker 1: never picked them. Both horses this year are solid, and
- 2:59Speaker 1: since the American horses aren't great this year, now might
- 3:03Speaker 1: be a good time. Both of these horses are great prices. Boy,
- 3:07Speaker 1: these are long shots. Wow. Number seven Dan and Bourbon
- 3:12Speaker 1: twenty to one money line and number ten Wonder Dean
- 3:15Speaker 1: thirty to one money line. The seven is a little
- 3:18Speaker 1: bit more, okay, The seven's a little stronger or nothing,
- 3:23Speaker 1: but he's undefeated and he's the best bet to win.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So the seven and the ten, maybe you throw a
- 3:29Speaker 1: little something on each one of them. Maybe you throw
- 3:31Speaker 1: them in your exotics and your but you know, there's
- 3:34Speaker 1: a real long shots here. So but nice enough for
- 3:37Speaker 1: Paul to tell us that we've had poll on the show.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I think a couple of.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Times, right, John So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 1: We had this winner last year. Who's Johnny oh playing
- 3:45Speaker 1: in the derby?
- 3:46Speaker 4: I know you're firing, well, crack, this is an easy derby.
- 3:51Speaker 4: It's they don't always happen this way. You know how
- 3:53Speaker 4: I like to roll when it comes to horse racing. Okay,
- 3:57Speaker 4: horses with cat names. Horses with cat names.
- 4:00Speaker 3: We've got the the Puma, the nine horse, the puma
- 4:06Speaker 3: ten to one. Puma is a cat, Bill all right, yeah,
- 4:11Speaker 3: puma and uh and I'm putting him and I'm actually
- 4:15Speaker 3: gonna put him. Uh to me, it's a it's like
- 4:18Speaker 3: a it's a no brainer. The thirteen horse, twenty to one.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Potent potent because the cat is potent, our potent potent.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Okay, there you go.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Now are you getting ready for I don't even notice
- 4:35Speaker 1: we didn't talk about this before the time. As you
- 4:37Speaker 1: can tell, Johnny, you're getting ready for any World series
- 4:40Speaker 1: stuffer that that's not yet funny.
- 4:43Speaker 4: You should say that, Bill, I wore a hat today.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Just for you.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Oh, a little series of what what's the front say?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Feeling lucky?
- 4:54Speaker 1: Feel?
- 4:54Speaker 2: This is the hat. This is the exact hat I wore.
- 4:58Speaker 4: If you'll remember event number one last year at wsop Bill,
- 5:01Speaker 4: when I played the Mystery Millions against nineteen thousand, six
- 5:05Speaker 4: hundred and forty five entries and your and your guy
- 5:08Speaker 4: came in seventy third. It's okay, not the final prize,
- 5:12Speaker 4: but we're gonna I'm still wait, Yeah, that's okay, Bill,
- 5:18Speaker 4: We're gonna we're gonna strike big this year, Big Bill.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Big big.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So when May twenty sixth, May twenty sixth is that event?
- 5:28Speaker 1: The Uh?
- 5:29Speaker 2: Actually that I shouldn't say that. This year they added
- 5:32Speaker 2: an event.
- 5:32Speaker 4: So I played last year in the Mystery Millions, right,
- 5:35Speaker 4: this year they've they still have the Mystery Millions, but
- 5:39Speaker 4: that's coming later in the series. They've added a Mini
- 5:41Speaker 4: Mystery Millions, which is a five hundred.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Dollars buy in. And uh, I'm.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Assuming the the bounties won't be a million. That maybe
- 5:52Speaker 4: the big bounties half a million in that one, I
- 5:54Speaker 4: would imagine, but I don't know. No, that one's not.
- 6:00Speaker 4: But there is a senior event. Uh, there's two senior
- 6:02Speaker 4: events this year. There's this you're gonna play the one you.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Need to be in on. You need to be on
- 6:07Speaker 1: the senior event. These other ones you're way too old
- 6:09Speaker 1: for these. Now. It is what it is. I'm just
- 6:11Speaker 1: not trying to make funny alive on air.
- 6:13Speaker 4: You can cut it if you want, Bill, but Bill, No,
- 6:15Speaker 4: we're not cutting anything.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Bill.
- 6:16Speaker 4: We're gonna Bill this is gold because we're gonna clip
- 6:19Speaker 4: this up. We're gonna clip this up because listen to me, Bill,
- 6:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna make a bold statement right now. Okay, most
- 6:25Speaker 4: people they just want to win one bracelet this summer.
- 6:27Speaker 4: Most people say, I'm gonna win a bracelet this summer.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I'll let you in on a little secret.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Bill.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm winning two. Okay, book it. Okay, I'm winning too.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Oh yeah, make that smile all you want, Laugh all
- 6:40Speaker 4: you want. I'm winning not one, but two WSP bracelets
- 6:46Speaker 4: this summer.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Book it, book it.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I'm sure people will give you some long odds on that.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I'm talking like, what are the odds, Bill, if you
- 6:56Speaker 4: had to, if you had to put a number to it,
- 6:58Speaker 4: what are the odds? Uh?
- 7:01Speaker 1: Did you see them? With casino Robertson Niro when he's yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 1: the guy hits three slot machines, ten thousand jackpotch. You
- 7:08Speaker 1: had to see yourself getting set up on the first
- 7:09Speaker 1: one the odds and two or three it's a billion
- 7:12Speaker 1: to one. It cannot happen. Would that happen? You're two bracelets?
- 7:16Speaker 1: Is longer than that?
- 7:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I love it. I love it.
- 7:20Speaker 1: No, it's in the billions. It's in the tens of billions.
- 7:23Speaker 1: If if I had to really put it on there,
- 7:25Speaker 1: it's a giant number. But let me ask this, give
- 7:28Speaker 1: me a number. But let me ask you this.
- 7:32Speaker 4: Could you take how would you go about identifying like
- 7:36Speaker 4: the pros, like the big names, the the matdis Ow's,
- 7:40Speaker 4: the miss Rockies, the Madsons, the Alex Boxin's Negrano? How
- 7:45Speaker 4: how would you assign what their odds are like to
- 7:49Speaker 4: win the main How did you come up with a
- 7:52Speaker 4: real formula to figure that out?
- 7:54Speaker 1: When when Michael Miss Rocky, who we would we will
- 7:58Speaker 1: have on this show eventually, By the way, when he
- 8:02Speaker 1: won last year, that was just so amazing because there
- 8:06Speaker 1: were so many people that said a famous player, and
- 8:10Speaker 1: they had bulks of them, and there was a betting
- 8:12Speaker 1: markets Pinnacle Offshore originally had odds on all the World
- 8:17Speaker 1: Series players and they put bulks of players like fifty
- 8:21Speaker 1: names will never win a main event. Again, you could
- 8:23Speaker 1: have bet that years ago. They don't have the market anymore,
- 8:25Speaker 1: and I'll think, and his name was in there, so
- 8:28Speaker 1: you would get real Yes, well, a big name player.
- 8:34Speaker 1: It's amazing what he did last year, absolutely amazing, amazing.
- 8:38Speaker 1: He has won that fifty tournament multiple times. He is
- 8:43Speaker 1: one of the greatest players in the world. There is
- 8:46Speaker 1: for sure. I know there's a lot of luck, but
- 8:48Speaker 1: poker tournaments are a different animal for certain people. Like
- 8:53Speaker 1: who we've had on this show, Phil Helmuth, We've had on,
- 8:56Speaker 1: Daniel mgrano, We've had on Michael oh No, We've had
- 8:59Speaker 1: on who else, we had someone else on Madison, we
- 9:02Speaker 1: had Madison on, Yeah, Mario Sam Sam, We've had a
- 9:10Speaker 1: lot of we have poker pros on so some of
- 9:12Speaker 1: these guys. I'll use Phil Helmet though one of the
- 9:15Speaker 1: best in the world. There is more to it than
- 9:19Speaker 1: just luck when it comes to poker tournaments for a
- 9:22Speaker 1: lot of players, and these guys are proven it. Michael
- 9:26Speaker 1: Mizeraki is definitely has proven this in the past. But
- 9:31Speaker 1: John I have a couple of subjects to go into here.
- 9:35Speaker 1: One is right there in Atlantic City. There's an article
- 9:38Speaker 1: out and Ocean Casino Resort is sued for millions over
- 9:42Speaker 1: dealer tip pulling practices. Wow, I'm only going by this
- 9:48Speaker 1: article and it's even hard to believe what I'm reading here.
- 9:52Speaker 1: So Atlantic City's Ocean Resort is accused in a new
- 9:55Speaker 1: lawsuit of structuring its tip pulling system to shift labor
- 9:59Speaker 1: cost onto dealer. It's in violation of federal and New
- 10:02Speaker 1: Jersey laws. It's just so hard for me to believe
- 10:06Speaker 1: that this is even a real lawsuit, but it is.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm reading from an article which we'll post what we'll
- 10:11Speaker 1: even post a wink here. I'll tell you where it
- 10:13Speaker 1: comes from. It comes from casino dot org Philip Connor
- 10:17Speaker 1: Co and then E. L. E. R. Has written the
- 10:20Speaker 1: article and the dealer is Lydia Coolan, a table games dealer,
- 10:25Speaker 1: claims in the proposed class action lawsuit, the casino requires
- 10:28Speaker 1: dealers to participate in a mandatory mandatory tip pool by
- 10:31Speaker 1: paying at least some of them below the state's full
- 10:34Speaker 1: minimum wage through a tip credit. Now, I did not
- 10:38Speaker 1: know that the minimum wage in New Jersey was fifteen
- 10:41Speaker 1: ninety two an hour. I didn't know that. So minimum
- 10:43Speaker 1: wage here in the state is fifteen dollars and ninety
- 10:45Speaker 1: two cents per hour. However, in a tip worker position,
- 10:50Speaker 1: they must pay six oh five per hour six dollars
- 10:53Speaker 1: and five cents per hour in direct wages, with tips
- 10:57Speaker 1: making up the difference. So what what she is saying
- 11:01Speaker 1: is the casino for every hour. Here's how it works.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Here's how it works in the casino business. And maybe
- 11:08Speaker 1: someone could correct me if their place of their jurisdiction
- 11:11Speaker 1: is different. So you work every sixty minutes, you get
- 11:16Speaker 1: tapped out for a twenty minute break, every sixty you
- 11:19Speaker 1: get a twenty minute break, and you work an eight
- 11:22Speaker 1: hour shift, of which every twenty minutes you're every sixty
- 11:26Speaker 1: minut you're getting a twenty minute break. That doesn't matter
- 11:28Speaker 1: though you're still getting tips hourly rate, so even for
- 11:32Speaker 1: the time you're on break, you still got part of
- 11:33Speaker 1: the tip pool. Of course, Well, what she is saying
- 11:37Speaker 1: that Ocean Casino was doing is not tipping, not using
- 11:43Speaker 1: the tip money when they're on break, and they're taking
- 11:47Speaker 1: the tip money and putting into the casino. It's even
- 11:51Speaker 1: hard for me to believe that what I'm reading here,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I almost don't want to read it, but I'm going
- 11:55Speaker 1: to read this. She is saying that she is seeking
- 11:58Speaker 1: to recover unpaid minimum wage in overtime, as well as
- 12:01Speaker 1: tips she claims were misused on the the casino's pulling system.
- 12:05Speaker 1: The lawsuit also requests liquidated damage, the interest, okay, legal fees,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but she's saying is an upwards of five million dollars
- 12:13Speaker 1: the casino has stolen from the dealer's tip poles and
- 12:18Speaker 1: there they're they're not getting paid correctly. I want you
- 12:21Speaker 1: guys to read this article to really get the feel,
- 12:24Speaker 1: and it's just so hard for me to believe. But
- 12:29Speaker 1: I mean, it's a crazy claim, is that they're not
- 12:30Speaker 1: getting She's not getting paid on those twenty minute rakes
- 12:34Speaker 1: like every other casino in the world. So if Ocean
- 12:36Speaker 1: Casino did this, shame on them. Unbelievable. Now, John, I
- 12:42Speaker 1: got some other subjects here that that's the first one.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Doug Poke, Let's go back to poker. Doug, Yes, his
- 12:50Speaker 1: poker room was cleared. The Lodge poker room was cleared
- 12:54Speaker 1: and set to reopen back in Texas. The biggest car room,
- 12:58Speaker 1: the Lodge Card Club Back from the Dead. Poker pro
- 13:00Speaker 1: and co owner of the Austin Area room, Doug Poker,
- 13:03Speaker 1: announced on social media that uh charges were dropped to
- 13:08Speaker 1: seize money and equipment would be returned to management. Uh
- 13:12Speaker 1: we'll reopen in a few weeks. Justice has prevailed, he adds.
- 13:15Speaker 1: The damage to our staff and members has been tremendous
- 13:17Speaker 1: and it's not time to rebuild. We'll be putting together
- 13:20Speaker 1: a kickoff event in the near future. This is a
- 13:23Speaker 1: remarkable reversal. It really is. Yeah, it is. Did you
- 13:26Speaker 1: know about this?
- 13:28Speaker 2: I saw it yesterday that he tweeted it?
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Do you think there's any legal recourse like he he
- 13:35Speaker 4: just said, like there's been that's a lot of damage done.
- 13:37Speaker 4: And so if they've been cleared of everything, do they
- 13:40Speaker 4: have a case like against well against this.
- 13:45Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know the situation. But you
- 13:48Speaker 1: know who said it? Someone said, oh, you said it?
- 13:51Speaker 1: You said it? What's said? John't want to said it?
- 13:53Speaker 1: You said it?
- 13:54Speaker 2: I said, what does the world come to Texas?
- 13:56Speaker 1: If you can't say it again?
- 13:59Speaker 2: What is the world?
- 13:59Speaker 1: Cat did it?
- 14:00Speaker 2: If we can't play Texas, hold them in Texas? What
- 14:02Speaker 2: are we doing? It is crazy like, but justice prevailed.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it sounds like it anyway, It definitely sounds
- 14:12Speaker 1: like it. John, We know these we know that last week.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I talked about it last couple of weeks about these
- 14:20Speaker 1: new casinos that have opened. Well, we just started table
- 14:24Speaker 1: games in New York two hours here. They just started
- 14:27Speaker 1: playing table games at Resorts World in Queens and uh
- 14:32Speaker 1: they you know, table games, they are they already had slots,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but table games is a different, whole different animal here.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Now you're hurting the Sands, Bethlehem, Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, Atlantic
- 14:43Speaker 1: City and uh, they have started here already, and I'm
- 14:48Speaker 1: I'm told it's an unbelievable thing for New York and
- 14:52Speaker 1: New York City. Now you're building three new casinos at
- 14:55Speaker 1: least in New York, which are going to be full
- 14:58Speaker 1: fledged casinos. That has to put a hurt in on
- 15:01Speaker 1: these casinos here, because let's face it, people in North
- 15:05Speaker 1: Jersey and stuff, they're not going to drive the two
- 15:08Speaker 1: hours to Atlantic City when they can drive right over
- 15:10Speaker 1: a bridge or tunnel, go through a tunnel. But granted
- 15:14Speaker 1: traffic in certain hours. That leads to another one here.
- 15:17Speaker 1: New Jersey senators say, we've got a gun to our
- 15:19Speaker 1: heads with New York City casinos to New Jersey. Lawmakers
- 15:22Speaker 1: have proposed asking state voters to allow casinos outside Atlantic City.
- 15:29Speaker 1: A senator in New Jersey who wants to expand casinos
- 15:31Speaker 1: outside Atlanta City Okay, says the Gardens state gaming industry
- 15:36Speaker 1: faces a grim outlook unless lawmakers act quickly. They want
- 15:39Speaker 1: to put new casinos in North Jersey. And you know this,
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm not ever agreeing going to agree with politicians, I guess,
- 15:47Speaker 1: but yes, it's definitely going to hurt New Jersey by
- 15:51Speaker 1: having these casinos. Now you have so much more that
- 15:57Speaker 1: you know, there's so much more of this tax dollars
- 15:59Speaker 1: that are gonna be leaving the state. So that's gonna happen,
- 16:02Speaker 1: free full skill operation casinos in New York. Two of
- 16:05Speaker 1: the properties will be located in Queens In the third
- 16:07Speaker 1: in the Bronx.
- 16:08Speaker 4: John Well, I was gonna say, but you know what,
- 16:11Speaker 4: they brought this on themselves. I mean when was when
- 16:14Speaker 4: was the first casinos in Atlantic City, Like in the
- 16:18Speaker 4: late seventies, right, seventy eighth.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Okay, so you've had you've had.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Some seventy eight to to create an environment that was safe,
- 16:27Speaker 4: that people want to come to. They're not worried about
- 16:29Speaker 4: getting mugged out on the boardwalk. Like they've had all
- 16:31Speaker 4: this time to clean up their act and they've never
- 16:34Speaker 4: really done it, and they've never really tried. They've never
- 16:37Speaker 4: invested in the players and the people in the families there,
- 16:41Speaker 4: and this is what happens. And now now they're going
- 16:44Speaker 4: to have real competition, and maybe it's what forces them
- 16:47Speaker 4: to finally clean up their act and compete.
- 16:50Speaker 1: John, your spot on, and I'm glad you mentioned it first,
- 16:53Speaker 1: because I'm very tough on the industry. I'm very tough
- 16:56Speaker 1: on casinos and jurisdictions. And you know, I tried to
- 17:00Speaker 1: put myself in Joe Public shoes man, because like I
- 17:03Speaker 1: always say, I kind of am Joe Public. So they
- 17:08Speaker 1: have made for an environment here in Atlantic City. I
- 17:10Speaker 1: talked about it earlier on Wison. The boardwalk outside here
- 17:15Speaker 1: it's okay. At daytime it's great, summertimes are great here.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That's a lot I had a lot of fun on
- 17:19Speaker 1: this boardwalk over the years. But nighttime it's a little
- 17:22Speaker 1: bit different. Of an animal out there. And then if
- 17:24Speaker 1: you go the other way Atlantic Avenue Pacific Avenue, it
- 17:27Speaker 1: can get tough out there. It can get rough. They
- 17:29Speaker 1: should have just some of the potholes in the street
- 17:32Speaker 1: are amazing. There was a lot of chances over the year,
- 17:35Speaker 1: over the decades, like you said, to fix these things
- 17:38Speaker 1: and write this town, John Listen. I used to come
- 17:41Speaker 1: round all the time, you know, we used to I
- 17:42Speaker 1: used to film my friend's apartment all the time here
- 17:44Speaker 1: in this high rise and literally right outside those doors.
- 17:50Speaker 1: You know, it was so dangerous out there. On that
- 17:53Speaker 1: was on Atlantic Avenue. Atlantic Avenue, there was a group
- 17:57Speaker 1: of thugs that used to charge money to get into
- 17:59Speaker 1: the pop buy his fried chicken, to open the door
- 18:01Speaker 1: for when without giving them money. And there's some bad
- 18:05Speaker 1: areas there, especially Atlantic Avenue. Still, uh they have police
- 18:09Speaker 1: cars set up on the street with no one in them,
- 18:12Speaker 1: just police cars with the sirmen then going, you know,
- 18:14Speaker 1: the flash going around just to deter crime in the
- 18:18Speaker 1: city and make it look like there's a cop there
- 18:20Speaker 1: in the middle of the street. And it's there's nothing
- 18:24Speaker 1: I can't even get And I'm going to get down
- 18:27Speaker 1: on these administrations. There's been so many of them that
- 18:30Speaker 1: are have been corrupted, and we've had mayors go to
- 18:33Speaker 1: jail here in town and everything else. So but you're
- 18:37Speaker 1: you're right, John, They probably they probably, they probably have
- 18:41Speaker 1: had problems like you're saying even now because of previous
- 18:49Speaker 1: administrations that didn't clean up the city. So I'm glad
- 18:52Speaker 1: you mentioned it because people would come after me probably.
- 18:55Speaker 1: But you know, listen, I'm for a safe environment. I'm
- 18:59Speaker 1: over here on the Marine Golden Nugget, Bergatta, and Harris
- 19:04Speaker 1: are the three. And yeah, that's a that's definitely safer
- 19:10Speaker 1: here than being over on the avenue over there where
- 19:13Speaker 1: some of the major casinos are. John, let's go to
- 19:17Speaker 1: another subject here. This was pretty amazing. I didn't hear
- 19:21Speaker 1: about this. Nelly, the singer. Nelly avoids charges in casino
- 19:27Speaker 1: assault case. So Nelly will not face charges for his
- 19:31Speaker 1: July twenty twenty five arrest AmeriStar Casino, following a decision
- 19:35Speaker 1: to drop the misdemeanor result charges in exchange for a
- 19:39Speaker 1: plea deal where he had a seven hundred and fifty
- 19:40Speaker 1: dollars fine. His real name is Cornell Hayes was accused
- 19:44Speaker 1: of attacking a guard for refusing him to access to
- 19:48Speaker 1: a restricted casino area without a player's card. Now I
- 19:51Speaker 1: will tell you to take Nellie's back here. I have
- 19:55Speaker 1: seen that myself where they wouldn't allow players. Just yesterday
- 20:00Speaker 1: at the Bergata and the high limit lounge, they don't
- 20:04Speaker 1: allow players who have a high limit card to come
- 20:07Speaker 1: into that lounge or a player card. I find that
- 20:10Speaker 1: kind of unusual that you won't allow I didn't know that. Oh,
- 20:13Speaker 1: there's many casinos like that. But you know what I
- 20:18Speaker 1: would like to get maybe opinions of people. Do you
- 20:20Speaker 1: think that's good? It could be good because you could
- 20:23Speaker 1: be protecting your higher limit players from coming in. So
- 20:28Speaker 1: Nelly replied he didn't have a card, and he allegedly
- 20:31Speaker 1: shoved the guard. I'm not going to take his back
- 20:33Speaker 1: for that. So shoved the guard in the chest with
- 20:35Speaker 1: a closed right hand win hand and walked in. Although
- 20:38Speaker 1: the guard had no injuries, he chose to press charges,
- 20:41Speaker 1: leading to a formal misdemeanor of charges against Nelly. So
- 20:46Speaker 1: I guess it was security Footage later reviewed showed the
- 20:49Speaker 1: guard standing in close proximity to the rapper, and the
- 20:53Speaker 1: lack of audio made it difficulty prosecutor, so they dropped
- 20:55Speaker 1: it and charged them just with a small fine. So
- 20:58Speaker 1: also Nelly, by the way, he's gotten himself in trouble
- 21:01Speaker 1: before Saint Louis. He was arrested in Hollywood casino for
- 21:05Speaker 1: winning a fifty thousand dollars jackpot. Obviously, Nelly's a gambler. Wow,
- 21:09Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars slot japp jackpot which they checked. Wow,
- 21:16Speaker 1: I guess I'm reading this order this part of the
- 21:17Speaker 1: article for the first time. They checked his background. He
- 21:20Speaker 1: had a twenty eighteen violation for failure to a peer
- 21:25Speaker 1: warrant and wouldn't pay him this fifty thousand dollars. Wow.
- 21:29Speaker 1: What does that have to do with that?
- 21:30Speaker 2: Though?
- 21:31Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, if that's Teams John, for sure,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you better not be playing those slots because they definitely
- 21:38Speaker 1: won't pay you. A subsequent search allegedly Uncle covered four
- 21:44Speaker 1: ecstasy pills. Nellie was also the possession of narcotics. Those
- 21:48Speaker 1: charges were dropped later. But you know, I do know
- 21:52Speaker 1: if you hit a big jackpot for like a million
- 21:54Speaker 1: dollars or something million, I do know they'll make you
- 21:57Speaker 1: pay your old child support or whatever your Yeah, so
- 22:00Speaker 1: I do know that that's true, So that I find
- 22:03Speaker 1: that pretty interesting. Yeah, But you know what again, so
- 22:08Speaker 1: I see these high limit rooms sometimes that don't allow
- 22:13Speaker 1: certain you have to have a certain card level. How
- 22:16Speaker 1: do you determine it? Maybe someone wants to come in
- 22:18Speaker 1: with a lot of money though, and gamble like in
- 22:20Speaker 1: high limits. So it's kind of sketchy there. I can't
- 22:22Speaker 1: believe with these laws and how things are so uh,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you know, let's just face it. Let's still woke today
- 22:29Speaker 1: that they would allow something like that to happen. Anyway, Uh,
- 22:34Speaker 1: casino in New Hampshire to become the first open Oh look,
- 22:39Speaker 1: this is unbelievable. My god. So there was a Staples
- 22:44Speaker 1: store in a Staples it was a home home store. Yeah,
- 22:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Okay, this is unbelievable. So that they're closing
- 22:53Speaker 1: one of these Staples. They're closing the Staples, the home
- 22:55Speaker 1: office superstore they're closed. They're closing that and making it
- 22:59Speaker 1: into a casino. I just can't believe. Numerous casinos have opened.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Where's the department stores? A casino plan for Kilburn Led
- 23:07Speaker 1: shopping Center in Littleton, New Hampshire will soon become the
- 23:11Speaker 1: first to open up in a in a Staples store.
- 23:14Speaker 1: So now they're opening up, they're closing the Staples. At
- 23:17Speaker 1: the end of the it's happening in it's supposed that
- 23:20Speaker 1: the store has been closed in February and now they're
- 23:23Speaker 1: giving they're been given four months to vacate. They're opening
- 23:26Speaker 1: a casino in this Staples store. And there's been many
- 23:29Speaker 1: shopping centers that have casinos now all over Hampton. B
- 23:33Speaker 1: is that I can't believe it's everywhere. Is there a
- 23:38Speaker 1: place in this country? Can anyone tell us out there
- 23:41Speaker 1: if you live within a three hour drive of anywhere
- 23:46Speaker 1: in this country where there's not a casino? I mean
- 23:49Speaker 1: they're they're looking the brick, every living human, they're looking
- 23:52Speaker 1: the brick at these casinos everywhere. Yeah, a little mom
- 23:56Speaker 1: and pop towns. I find it absolutely amazing.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I just do.
- 24:03Speaker 1: I find it absolutely amazing of what's going on? John,
- 24:08Speaker 1: How about this one? This is a subject that I've
- 24:12Speaker 1: been talking about since perhaps were repealed for responsible gambling.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Online gambling blame for a sharp rise and personal bankruptcies
- 24:22Speaker 1: coast to coast. Of course, of course, it is, of
- 24:26Speaker 1: course OMLI gambling could be playing a role in the
- 24:29Speaker 1: rising personal bankruptcy filings. Bankruptcy rose twelve percent in the
- 24:33Speaker 1: last fiscal year, according to attorneys and financial advisors, saying
- 24:37Speaker 1: they're seeing the drastic increase in debt due to casino gambling.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Well it's a portion of it, of course. But you know,
- 24:47Speaker 1: I gotta tell you though, John, when I hear this,
- 24:49Speaker 1: I just think some of these, some of these jurisdictions
- 24:52Speaker 1: that have the go back to what I'm saying, the
- 24:55Speaker 1: eye gambling platforms like New Jersey, like right here, when
- 24:58Speaker 1: you're allowed to play, and and you're allowed to play,
- 25:02Speaker 1: you know, in the safety of your own house using
- 25:04Speaker 1: debit or credit cards. Of course, yeah, their rise to unbelievable,
- 25:10Speaker 1: you know, records and stuff. But this is what I say.
- 25:13Speaker 1: So when it comes to casino credit, you cannot write
- 25:19Speaker 1: off casino credit for the most part. In certain states
- 25:23Speaker 1: you can. In other words, that's considered a bad check law.
- 25:26Speaker 1: If you come to Nevada and you write, you sign
- 25:29Speaker 1: a marker in Nevada, it's considered a bad check. You're
- 25:32Speaker 1: writing a bad check for considering committing felony, and therefore
- 25:38Speaker 1: you're can be put in jail for that, you know.
- 25:40Speaker 1: So yeah, it's it's I'm gonna read this for you.
- 25:44Speaker 1: In a chapter seven case that that would be dischargeable
- 25:46Speaker 1: in certain areas. In Chapter thirteen, gambling guests will be
- 25:50Speaker 1: included in the payment planet any remaining balance discharged at
- 25:53Speaker 1: the end of the plan, explaining David Stevens, a new
- 25:56Speaker 1: Jersey bankruptcy attorney. So there is ways around this, I guess,
- 26:03Speaker 1: but is that the solution is the solution to make
- 26:06Speaker 1: people have bankruptcies and now they're just going to start
- 26:09Speaker 1: over no matter what they say, they want a fresh start.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Bankruptcy gives them that platform. Listen, I know the human
- 26:16Speaker 1: condition and human tendencies. I know, I say that word
- 26:18Speaker 1: a lot. This kind of gives people the start to
- 26:23Speaker 1: start over and do this again. And I'm not blaming
- 26:28Speaker 1: the people, I'm blaming the ease of being able to
- 26:33Speaker 1: do it. I think there should be more restrictions on
- 26:36Speaker 1: the way things are financed and funded, and caps on
- 26:40Speaker 1: gambling more than anything, you know, speaking of which know
- 26:44Speaker 1: that they try to say that there is caps and
- 26:48Speaker 1: they have these restrictions now and the KYC know your
- 26:52Speaker 1: Customer Law and the KYC restrictions put in place and
- 26:57Speaker 1: forced a little bit more now that all of the
- 27:00Speaker 1: because of Matt Boyer, who we went to his house
- 27:02Speaker 1: and had him on the show. Yeah, we were the
- 27:03Speaker 1: first show to have him on. Was us to have
- 27:05Speaker 1: him on? There and he has uh put h. He
- 27:10Speaker 1: has cast literally uh a big, a big thing on
- 27:15Speaker 1: many different casinos now tightening their practices and trying to
- 27:19Speaker 1: be more compliant to the laws. But you know it's funny.
- 27:24Speaker 1: So Matt, I haven't spoken to him, but he is
- 27:28Speaker 1: added to the bat As Black Book. You think you
- 27:30Speaker 1: knew about that.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I talked to him a week ago.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Okay, thanks for telling me. What did you have to
- 27:36Speaker 1: say with my connection? Would you? What do you have
- 27:37Speaker 1: to say?
- 27:38Speaker 4: I well, I saw that uh that post about him
- 27:42Speaker 4: getting added, and and there was a quote from him
- 27:45Speaker 4: saying that he wasn't gonna fight it, that he wasn't
- 27:48Speaker 4: even going to fight it, and I I reached out
- 27:51Speaker 4: to him and I said, hey, I just saw this article.
- 27:54Speaker 4: I said, I think you should go to this hearing
- 27:57Speaker 4: because you're you're very likable in person, and then they
- 28:00Speaker 4: just look at you as a as a as a
- 28:03Speaker 4: newspaper headline and they don't get to interact with you.
- 28:08Speaker 4: I think then you have no shot. But I think
- 28:10Speaker 4: if you could actually plea your case to them, you
- 28:12Speaker 4: could have a chance.
- 28:13Speaker 2: And he said, he's not even allowed to go to
- 28:16Speaker 2: the hearing because he's not allowed to leave the state
- 28:19Speaker 2: right now.
- 28:20Speaker 4: But he said he met with them, He already met
- 28:22Speaker 4: with them in person, and he said, they don't care
- 28:25Speaker 4: about me. They just want to make an example out
- 28:27Speaker 4: of me.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And it is what it is. Oh okay, all right,
- 28:31Speaker 1: john you go around Orlando. That's your new name, guy, Hey,
- 28:36Speaker 1: And this is what it is. I understand the way
- 28:38Speaker 1: Johnny Hollywood works. Oh my god. So this article Matt Boyer,
- 28:44Speaker 1: the illegal bookmaker in the center of the Showy at
- 28:46Speaker 1: Tany betting scandal, was officially edited Abatis Black Book they Thursday,
- 28:50Speaker 1: primarily borrowing him from every casino in the state. Let
- 28:53Speaker 1: me just tell you he is banned from He is
- 28:58Speaker 1: banned from the casinos in Nevada because he was involved
- 29:03Speaker 1: in the show Yotani case. But to be real blunt,
- 29:08Speaker 1: if you want to start banning bookmakers and stuff like that,
- 29:13Speaker 1: I don't know if they can have a thick enough
- 29:15Speaker 1: book to put all the names. I've said it before,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I'll say it again. If you want to start banning
- 29:20Speaker 1: people that yet black and white, you want to start
- 29:23Speaker 1: banning all those gray names, I don't know if you'll
- 29:27Speaker 1: be able to even You might just put a lock
- 29:29Speaker 1: on the door. I mean, there's you know, they were
- 29:31Speaker 1: worry about people that are coming in making the money
- 29:36Speaker 1: in illegal areas and bring into the casino. Well, then
- 29:39Speaker 1: why doesn't Resorts World, where he lost thirteen million dollars,
- 29:43Speaker 1: why don't they have to pay some of the money
- 29:45Speaker 1: back and give some of the money back that they
- 29:47Speaker 1: took off this illegal gambler. So in the end we
- 29:52Speaker 1: get it all. That's what ash Rotstein said in Casino.
- 29:55Speaker 1: He's right, because you can watch every one of those
- 29:57Speaker 1: episodes of American Greed and half of them are people
- 30:00Speaker 1: that lost their money in casinos or gambling somewhere and
- 30:03Speaker 1: the casino or gambling corporation gets to keep the money,
- 30:06Speaker 1: Unlike if they stole jewelry or went to a pawn
- 30:10Speaker 1: shop or something that they have a physical item where
- 30:13Speaker 1: they sold, they have to give the money back, but
- 30:16Speaker 1: the casinos don't. Must be something going on there politically,
- 30:19Speaker 1: I guess, right. Yeah, anyway, you know Matt, Yes, Matt
- 30:23Speaker 1: was an illegal bookmaker. Absolutely, he was an illegal bookmaker.
- 30:27Speaker 1: You go up, go up and down the California coast.
- 30:30Speaker 1: You can't you can't stop every single day, you can't
- 30:33Speaker 1: stop from singing five of them. And in the card rooms,
- 30:36Speaker 1: in the poker rooms, they're all over the place. You
- 30:39Speaker 1: go to every single poker room and they're everywhere. The
- 30:41Speaker 1: ship bakers, you're gonna start putting them all on the
- 30:42Speaker 1: black book anyway. That's something about Matt. I thought it was.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I seen that, and.
- 30:50Speaker 4: It's crazy to me how it extends through not just gambling,
- 30:54Speaker 4: but like you can't even go to Aria to eat dinner.
- 30:59Speaker 2: That's crazy to me.
- 31:00Speaker 1: You can't even got to a restaurant. Yeah, you y
- 31:03Speaker 1: can't come in none of the casinos. Here's a guy
- 31:05Speaker 1: who not only lost a lot of money, but it's
- 31:09Speaker 1: not like he you know, it's not like he beat
- 31:12Speaker 1: the casinos at the money. He lost all his money
- 31:14Speaker 1: in the casinos. So yeah, in the end they get
- 31:17Speaker 1: it all. John. Let's talk about wire a two hundred
- 31:21Speaker 1: dollar it's a two hundred dollars one to win one
- 31:24Speaker 1: hundred and fifty three thousand dollars.
- 31:26Speaker 2: These these bets are amazing.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Listen. I hate parlays. It's a sucker bet. No matter
- 31:34Speaker 1: what anyone says, these bets for the most part, are
- 31:38Speaker 1: sucker bets. They really are. But everyone bets them. I
- 31:41Speaker 1: go to the counters here and I even see I
- 31:42Speaker 1: listened to I want to parlay. I want to parlay.
- 31:44Speaker 1: I want to everyone looking to make money. You know,
- 31:47Speaker 1: it's like that parlay that. There was a parlay last
- 31:50Speaker 1: week that hit down at the hard Rock in Florida
- 31:52Speaker 1: for like two million bucks give or take guys.
- 31:54Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I don't know guys hitting home runs, the
- 31:56Speaker 2: home run.
- 31:57Speaker 1: One hitting home runs thirty dollars. The guy bet and
- 32:01Speaker 1: won like two million bucks. So of course they put
- 32:04Speaker 1: it out there because they want to entice other people
- 32:07Speaker 1: to bet, make these type of bets. The money in
- 32:09Speaker 1: volume that overcomes this two million bucks. They know it's
- 32:12Speaker 1: hard to bleed, but everyone says, wow, you could do that.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I gotta try that. And meanwhile, all of these casinos
- 32:18Speaker 1: absolutely love when someone hit something big. Maybe not that big,
- 32:22Speaker 1: but they when they hit something big for a small amount.
- 32:25Speaker 1: And you could see by the way that guy bet
- 32:27Speaker 1: I think it was thirty dollars and eleven cents. He
- 32:29Speaker 1: bet you could see all the money he had in
- 32:31Speaker 1: his account. So you broke the guy. Basically, he's down
- 32:34Speaker 1: to his last pennies and he bets some you know,
- 32:36Speaker 1: crazy bet and actually wins a bet that only someone
- 32:40Speaker 1: like John Lando can win. Sorry on the show. I
- 32:45Speaker 1: don't need you, Bry John. So I bet at four
- 32:51Speaker 1: leg parlay two hundred dollars to win one hundred and
- 32:54Speaker 1: fifty three thousand Indiana you losers to win the NCAA
- 32:59Speaker 1: F Championship winner, Seattle Seahawks to beat New England Winter,
- 33:04Speaker 1: Michigan Wolverines to win Winter. Now he needs Colorado to
- 33:08Speaker 1: win the Stanley Cup is his last leg of the parlay.
- 33:13Speaker 1: It's two hundred dollars to win one hundred and fifty
- 33:16Speaker 1: three right now, it's worth forty seven thousand dollars in
- 33:19Speaker 1: bet value. Wow. Now, because you only bet two hundred
- 33:23Speaker 1: dollars originally and you look at the forty seven thousand
- 33:27Speaker 1: dollars that it's worth. My god, I think you got that.
- 33:31Speaker 1: You know you have. Well, by the way, there's a
- 33:33Speaker 1: cash out, So the site offers you thirty nine thousand,
- 33:36Speaker 1: but through wager Wire and the wager Wire app it's
- 33:40Speaker 1: forty seven thousand. So it's you know, much much more
- 33:43Speaker 1: going through wager Wire of course, in the wager Wire
- 33:45Speaker 1: app and wagerwar dot com. But yeah, I think you've
- 33:48Speaker 1: got to get a little something for your money here.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I think you got to take a little piece, you know,
- 33:54Speaker 1: get get something better. You met in two hundred bucks,
- 33:56Speaker 1: so it's it's two hundred dollars, which is, you know,
- 33:59Speaker 1: if you win a thousand or two thousand, maybe not,
- 34:01Speaker 1: but to win to cash out and take some of
- 34:04Speaker 1: your money back at the forty seven thousand. At this
- 34:06Speaker 1: point you could actually do a little bit hedging too.
- 34:09Speaker 1: But just some of these betch do you said over
- 34:12Speaker 1: at wager wire, crazy man? Some of these something?
- 34:15Speaker 2: So Bill, you know my question, you know my question,
- 34:18Speaker 2: are you a buyer?
- 34:20Speaker 1: I'm really gonna look ato it too too deeply, to
- 34:23Speaker 1: be honest with you, I didn't really look look what
- 34:25Speaker 1: it's worth now compared to you know what it is here.
- 34:30Speaker 1: It's it's funny. I just logged on the bet MGM.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I tried to log on. It says are you in
- 34:33Speaker 1: New Jersey? I love these apps that do that though.
- 34:36Speaker 1: They tell you right away they know your jurisdiction and
- 34:39Speaker 1: they'll transfer your balance over, you know, to New Jersey. Though.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So let's look at the Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup. There
- 34:48Speaker 1: plus two two thirty. I'm looking just at bet MGM
- 34:50Speaker 1: real quick, so they're plus two to one at bet MGM,
- 34:54Speaker 1: which means that the forty seven thousand that I'm looking
- 34:57Speaker 1: at here. You know what, John, probably if I'm looking
- 35:02Speaker 1: right here, this this may this this could be pretty interesting.
- 35:06Speaker 1: They're saying it's worth forty seven thousand dollars in change, right,
- 35:09Speaker 1: forty seven thousand, one oh five. You know, now that
- 35:12Speaker 1: I see the odds to win at two and a
- 35:15Speaker 1: half to one, I may want to look into this
- 35:18Speaker 1: a little deeper myself. So really, yeah, yeah for a piece.
- 35:21Speaker 1: You know, I never want to buy the person outright,
- 35:24Speaker 1: I want them to have a rooting interest, so and
- 35:26Speaker 1: I want to be on the team here. So the odds, Yeah,
- 35:31Speaker 1: the original odds here of seven hundred and sixty four
- 35:34Speaker 1: to one, which is amazing the current odds, like I said,
- 35:39Speaker 1: plus two twenty five compared to the the odds for
- 35:43Speaker 1: the ticket. So it's something to look at. And there's
- 35:45Speaker 1: a lot more of these guys over at the wager
- 35:48Speaker 1: Wire marketplace. It's wagerwire dot com and the wager Wire app. Guys,
- 35:52Speaker 1: I want to thank you too for subscribing and liking.
- 35:55Speaker 1: We really appreciate the likes and the comments. Why, you know,
- 35:59Speaker 1: i'd like to know what you know people that all
- 36:02Speaker 1: say nice things. I really appreciate it. I appreciate you
- 36:05Speaker 1: guys liking, subscribing, following, and I hope you realize that
- 36:08Speaker 1: I do this show for you. Guys. We try to
- 36:11Speaker 1: talk about subjects and we give you our honest opinions
- 36:13Speaker 1: what we think. There's really you really can't hold me
- 36:16Speaker 1: back from saying something good or bad about places. I
- 36:19Speaker 1: try to talk good and bad about everything. And I'm
- 36:21Speaker 1: going to talk good and bad about my Atlantic city
- 36:24Speaker 1: trip when I get back next week. I'll do a
- 36:26Speaker 1: recap of what's going on here. I was talking about
- 36:29Speaker 1: the weather, how it's sometimes. I talked about it on
- 36:33Speaker 1: Misen this morning. You know it's cloudy, John, it's cloudy,
- 36:37Speaker 1: it's rainy. It seems like there's a lot of clouds
- 36:39Speaker 1: in the air. I talked about this legitimate thing called
- 36:41Speaker 1: seasonal mood disorder. Like the winters are rough here. People
- 36:45Speaker 1: have it right. It's not like John's sitting outside with
- 36:48Speaker 1: the bird trip and looking up at the sunshine. That's
- 36:50Speaker 1: not the way it is. John. On the East Coast,
- 36:52Speaker 1: I know you vote. You grew up in Hollywood there
- 36:54Speaker 1: on a bird bank or wherever. You know, Brentwood, What
- 36:58Speaker 1: do you want to say, John, there's no depression in
- 36:59Speaker 1: your I.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Was gonna say to your point. You know, my buddy
- 37:03Speaker 4: Roger from Detroit. Yeah, I think I've said this before
- 37:06Speaker 4: on the show. I can't remember. But he there are
- 37:09Speaker 4: times he calls me in January and February and he
- 37:12Speaker 4: will say, we have not seen the sun in fifty
- 37:15Speaker 4: six days. And it's my brain, being from California, from
- 37:20Speaker 4: La originally and now living here in Vegas, my brain
- 37:23Speaker 4: can't even I always think he's lying to me, but
- 37:26Speaker 4: he's not.
- 37:26Speaker 2: He'll literally say, some numes we don't see the sun
- 37:29Speaker 2: for two months.
- 37:31Speaker 1: And of course, John, him saying that to you, you
- 37:33Speaker 1: can of course you can't relate. At least you're honest
- 37:35Speaker 1: about it. You know, growing up in California, the sunshine,
- 37:38Speaker 1: even Vegas and being a trust fund kid that you know,
- 37:41Speaker 1: it's hard to relate. It is hard to relate to
- 37:44Speaker 1: us people that are out there grinded. Okay, Johnny, Hollywoo,
- 37:47Speaker 1: Let's go to the next subject here. This is about
- 37:49Speaker 1: prediction markets. Johnny h Yeah, can regulators stop prediction markets
- 37:55Speaker 1: insider trading? Most Americans say no phone shows an app
- 38:01Speaker 1: downloaded for Calshi and other prediction market sites. Americans don't
- 38:04Speaker 1: believe the industry can effectively reduce insider trading. A new
- 38:08Speaker 1: poll from Scripts News indicate sixty two percent of Americans
- 38:12Speaker 1: queried said they were either not very confident or have
- 38:15Speaker 1: no confidence at all on the inside because you know,
- 38:18Speaker 1: we just read about these things about the inside trading
- 38:21Speaker 1: that goes on, and we've seen what happened after the
- 38:25Speaker 1: US military one of the people they're involved, they were
- 38:30Speaker 1: they were arrested because they put like thirty nine thousand
- 38:34Speaker 1: dollars don't get me, don't don't quote me exactly on
- 38:37Speaker 1: the will Nicholas Maduro, the former Venezuela and Venezuelan dictator,
- 38:43Speaker 1: be be arrested or out of power. So that was
- 38:47Speaker 1: a big thing here, and it's of course got the
- 38:49Speaker 1: it's in the media talking about that, and you know,
- 38:53Speaker 1: to be honest with you, the prediction markets, Yeah, they
- 38:57Speaker 1: they offer some of the things are really stupid with
- 38:59Speaker 1: they they offer and some of the things that i mean,
- 39:03Speaker 1: Polymarket was just had a big subject about the White
- 39:08Speaker 1: House correspondent dinner, so poly market offered a field. It's
- 39:14Speaker 1: just ridiculous that they actually offered something which it should
- 39:19Speaker 1: violate the commodities and futures trading rules here and regulation.
- 39:25Speaker 1: You cannot have any kind of some of these things
- 39:29Speaker 1: that they involved with, things like Maduro or anything there.
- 39:32Speaker 1: They they what the market was on the White House
- 39:35Speaker 1: Correspondence dinner was will anyone be kicked out of the dinner?
- 39:40Speaker 1: One contract asked, And yeah, I mean, come on, you
- 39:45Speaker 1: can't have that kind of a market. You can't have
- 39:48Speaker 1: political markets like that. I agree. I don't like it.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I don't like it. It's one thing that's for sports
- 39:55Speaker 1: and different events, but not any kind of catastrophes or anything.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I think that's absolutely terrible. But I will tell you
- 40:02Speaker 1: one thing now that it's baseball season and you see
- 40:06Speaker 1: the lines on a lot of these prediction markets. There's
- 40:10Speaker 1: more than just the Calshi and polymarkets. There's other ones also.
- 40:14Speaker 1: And the markets are so much tighter than that of
- 40:18Speaker 1: these sportsbooks on this coast especially, but even in Las Vegas.
- 40:22Speaker 1: You know, we used to have ten cent lines everywhere.
- 40:25Speaker 1: What that means, John, is minus a dollar sixty on
- 40:28Speaker 1: a baseball game on the favorite you like one hundred
- 40:30Speaker 1: and sixty to win one hundred on the underdog. You
- 40:32Speaker 1: bet one hundred to win one hundred and fifty, that's gone.
- 40:35Speaker 1: That's gone. There is none of that at all. South Point,
- 40:37Speaker 1: I think goes up to one fifty. Now it's the
- 40:39Speaker 1: only sportsbook in Las Vegas minus one fifty on the
- 40:43Speaker 1: favorite come back a dollar forty. Everyone else is minus
- 40:46Speaker 1: one fifty, come back a dollar thirty five or even
- 40:49Speaker 1: down to a dollar twenty five. Baseball is unbeatable at
- 40:53Speaker 1: twenty cent lines. Unbeatable. Cannot do it, don't even play it.
- 40:57Speaker 1: That's how strong it is. Really. Yes, they have the
- 41:01Speaker 1: game on the efficient market at twenty cent lines. Forget it,
- 41:05Speaker 1: forget about it, absolutely forget about it. Even even Johnny
- 41:09Speaker 1: Oh what his with his world famous Dodgers bets that
- 41:12Speaker 1: put many people in a homeless man, will tell you
- 41:14Speaker 1: you're not kidding.
- 41:15Speaker 2: You're not kidding. Especially this lasts like ten days or whatever.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Dodgers have been an absolute disaster.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Yeah, But going back to what I'm saying, though it
- 41:28Speaker 1: probably is the way of the future, I have not
- 41:31Speaker 1: graduated to these yet. And you know, Nevada has some
- 41:35Speaker 1: questions of law there, whether cal She's even legal. As
- 41:40Speaker 1: of April twenty twenty six, reading an article here, So
- 41:43Speaker 1: I will wait for that to be overturned or the
- 41:47Speaker 1: gray to turn to black or white, and we'll find
- 41:50Speaker 1: out what that is. I want to know if it's
- 41:54Speaker 1: perfectly legal to play, and it's just that I see
- 41:58Speaker 1: more and more people going over to the prediction markets,
- 42:00Speaker 1: which after someone showed me on his phone and showed
- 42:04Speaker 1: me how easy it is to use. You're buying contracts,
- 42:07Speaker 1: but you're literally it's the same thing as you know,
- 42:11Speaker 1: you're you're gambling. You know, for people that say it's
- 42:13Speaker 1: not gambling, it's definitely gambling. But however it's it's it's
- 42:17Speaker 1: a benefit for the consumer that does play these things.
- 42:20Speaker 1: You're saving a lot of juice in the end. Literally,
- 42:23Speaker 1: you're betting two or three cent baseball lines even after
- 42:26Speaker 1: they're even after their commission, compared to that of the
- 42:31Speaker 1: places that are twenty and twenty five cent money lines,
- 42:35Speaker 1: which I'm just telling you, even for football, the money
- 42:38Speaker 1: line on football NFL is ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous. Not eleven
- 42:42Speaker 1: to ten on a side. It's eleven to ten maybe
- 42:45Speaker 1: on side. But as far as the money lines in Vegas,
- 42:49Speaker 1: you know, there's still a minus a dollar forty come
- 42:51Speaker 1: back a dollar twenty on some of these wider markets
- 42:54Speaker 1: that are these new sports books that came to the country.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Oh my god, minus a dollar forty is coming back
- 43:00Speaker 1: like a dollar fifteen or a dollar ten. That's ridiculous
- 43:03Speaker 1: on money line. So that's where these prediction markets and
- 43:06Speaker 1: these places like Calshie and stuff definitely benefit the player.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Anything else, John, anything else going on? Nothing? Really? What
- 43:14Speaker 1: are you?
- 43:14Speaker 2: What are you up to?
- 43:14Speaker 1: What have you been doing?
- 43:16Speaker 4: I went to the playoff game last night Golden Knights,
- 43:20Speaker 4: of course you did, uh?
- 43:21Speaker 2: And it was a blast. And when double overtime Night's.
- 43:24Speaker 1: One four friends, I told my guys that that are
- 43:28Speaker 1: here and I said, wow, what a game last night.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I didn't know it was double was the yeah time? Yeah? Yeah?
- 43:33Speaker 1: Yeah was that was the place going.
- 43:35Speaker 2: Crazy crazy, absolutely crazy. Yeah. Yeah, it was a lot
- 43:41Speaker 2: of fun. I went with ian Ian and Town and
- 43:45Speaker 2: uh I had he had.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I'm sure tickets you probably I probably paid.
- 43:50Speaker 4: For you guys, right, Ian I got bought tickets and
- 43:54Speaker 4: then my buddy has a sweet and we went into
- 43:57Speaker 4: the sleep Did you sneak in this?
- 44:00Speaker 2: No?
- 44:01Speaker 4: No, my buddy doctor Corsandhi everybody's favorite plastic surgeon here
- 44:05Speaker 4: in town. Did my hair transplant even though I'm not,
- 44:08Speaker 4: you know, rocking the hair today.
- 44:12Speaker 2: That's doctor Kim over at Hollywood. This is great. You're
- 44:15Speaker 2: doing a real good sponsor shout out segment here.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I like it. Yeah, yeah, all right, good but so.
- 44:21Speaker 2: You got Yeah, it's fun though, It's really fun.
- 44:24Speaker 1: It's so they have such great sweet It is so Yeah, John,
- 44:28Speaker 1: we went to a Raiders game in the suite there
- 44:30Speaker 1: a couple of times. And isn't it cool?
- 44:32Speaker 2: It's great.
- 44:33Speaker 1: The sweet experience is so cool. The things, yea, the
- 44:36Speaker 1: seats aren't the greatest. You're not close to the field,
- 44:39Speaker 1: but you're off above.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Looking at everything, and yeah, no, it's I love it.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Fantastic.
- 44:43Speaker 4: And I'll tell you, I'll tell you what else is
- 44:44Speaker 4: cool about Vegas that you know. I grew up obviously
- 44:47Speaker 4: in LA and Dodgers Stadium after a game is a
- 44:50Speaker 4: nightmare to get out of. Walking through the stadium is
- 44:55Speaker 4: a is awful. And then the parking lot experience and
- 45:00Speaker 4: traffic is awful here. I I don't ever have an
- 45:03Speaker 4: issue like you can drive right out of the parking
- 45:06Speaker 4: garages where whether you're at New York, New York or
- 45:08Speaker 4: or uh Park MGM, it's easy, John.
- 45:12Speaker 1: I have went to many games and concerts at T Mobile.
- 45:17Speaker 1: I have went to games and concerts at Allegiance. Mg.
- 45:21Speaker 1: I always say, I can't believe how easy it was
- 45:24Speaker 1: to get out of here.
- 45:24Speaker 2: It's easy, easy to get out.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's maybe because the drive in traffic's not what
- 45:29Speaker 1: it is in LA or New York. It's so I
- 45:31Speaker 1: guess to get it out. Listen all the things you say,
- 45:34Speaker 1: I'm tough on casinos and stuff. Vegas is a great
- 45:37Speaker 1: place to lise for concerts and sporting events. And yeah,
- 45:41Speaker 1: we just we have such good things restaurants. We have
- 45:44Speaker 1: great things in Vegas and that's one of them.
- 45:48Speaker 4: And yeah, and people complain about like the News the
- 45:51Speaker 4: News stadium, you know, the that the A's are going
- 45:53Speaker 4: to play in, And like I obvious see comments saying, oh,
- 45:55Speaker 4: it's just what we need. Enough stadium right on the strip.
- 45:58Speaker 4: The traffic is going to be crazy, And I'm like,
- 46:00Speaker 4: what are you talking about? The T mobiles right there?
- 46:03Speaker 4: There's no issue Allegiance there, there's no issue. The Grand
- 46:06Speaker 4: Garden Arena was there before, there's no there's no issue.
- 46:09Speaker 4: I don't know what where people get this traffic issue
- 46:12Speaker 4: from I'm not saying there's a traffic in Vegas like
- 46:14Speaker 4: on the during rush hour now on the on the highway.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Sure there's traffic, but like leaving the stadiums is easy,
- 46:20Speaker 2: it's not a factor.
