- 0:37I promise you one thing. We're gonna hit somebody and
- 0:39we're taking downfield. Protect him.
- 0:41I guarantee you that guarantee. Look at me.
- 0:45Look at me. Let's go.
- 1:04Good morning ladies and gentlemen.
- 1:06You're watching the final time out military broadcast radio.
- 1:11I'm your host HG back for another week, Week one of the
- 1:16NFL pre season in the books. We got the MLB wild card and
- 1:20WNBA playoff races are both heating up.
- 1:24College football is almost back. Stay tuned.
- 1:27I'm going to do some power rankings for the conferences.
- 1:29Later in the show, we got the first look at the AP Top 25
- 1:32pool. We'll take a look at that.
- 1:34I've got more mock drafts coming your way and time permitting, we
- 1:38may even take another stab at that 82 and no challenge.
- 1:41So jam packed show today and let's just jump right into it.
- 1:45Though, Yeah, and, and we're doing pretty good.
- 1:49We didn't even do sound check. Yeah.
- 1:51I I was doing the sound check while having a conversation with
- 1:54you. So all right, the NFL preseason
- 2:00we got position battles and practice fights.
- 2:03We had our first full week in the NFL pre season football,
- 2:07giving us our first look at some of the rookie exciting rookies,
- 2:11new additions and players fighting for roster spot.
- 2:14My Broncos actually opened with a pretty impressive 27 to 7
- 2:20victory over the Atlanta Falcons for a good I mean, we had a good
- 2:25chunk of our starters playing except Bo.
- 2:28Yeah, Bo Jalen Waddle, who's dealing with an injury, JK
- 2:33Dobbins. I mean, it was basically the
- 2:35starting offense, but like, with minus a few guys.
- 2:39Jared Stidham looked pretty impressive.
- 2:41He threw for 131. Cortland Sutton had 60 receiving
- 2:46yards and an absolutely insane, sick one handed catch.
- 2:51I'm surprised that there was no flag thrown.
- 2:53Oh. Shit.
- 2:54Oh shit. Oh hey everybody, welcome to the
- 2:57stage. Caveman has entered the
- 3:02building. Whoa.
- 3:03All right. He is watching on TikTok.
- 3:06What's up caveman? How's it going?
- 3:10Made sure that you refresh everybody refresh tap heart us.
- 3:17Yeah, do do all that. Send us some gifts too.
- 3:21I those we appreciate, even even just the little ones.
- 3:24We appreciate that because all that money always just goes to
- 3:28to help and the veteran, whether it be teaching them classes or
- 3:30sometimes they're just in crisis and we can use that money to get
- 3:34them help and resources that they need to to get out of that
- 3:38crisis. So we love all of our TikTok.
- 3:41If there's yeah, Cortland sun, like I was saying, sick one
- 3:46handed catch. If you haven't seen it, go look
- 3:48it up. It's all over social media.
- 3:50Yeah, the Broncos with their starting unit and a lot of their
- 3:53second team really just controlled the game.
- 3:57You know, look, nobody's don't crown anybody's super champ,
- 4:00Super Bowl champions because of our pre season.
- 4:02Yeah, don't start polishing that Lombardi yet.
- 4:06But that was just, it was really refreshing to see.
- 4:09I got against like a team that should in theory be inferior
- 4:12competition for the Broncos, for you to really be in control with
- 4:16your starting unit out there. Good thing to see.
- 4:20And you saw a lot. We saw a lot of great things for
- 4:23the coaches, evaluating execution players.
- 4:26The players know their assignments, protect the
- 4:28football, communicate and contribute on special teams.
- 4:31That was the important stuff that we were looking for.
- 4:33AJ, how strong is our, how strong is our schedule this year
- 4:39because I know last year it was somewhat kind of a week, right?
- 4:44It wasn't the weakest schedule. I mean we were still playing.
- 4:48AI was a third place schedule that I think because they come
- 4:51in 3rd, but we're definitely we have a tougher schedule this
- 4:55year. It's a first place schedule.
- 4:56Oh. Yeah, because we almost made it
- 4:58to the Super Bowl. Yeah, our first eight weeks, I
- 5:03think we play six playoff teams here.
- 5:05I got it right here. So the Chiefs, obviously they're
- 5:08not. We're on the playoff team last
- 5:09year. But you imagine Mahomes will be
- 5:11healthy? That game is going to be in
- 5:13Arrowhead. That's always a tough one.
- 5:15Then we have the Jaguars, Rams, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks, get a
- 5:20bit of a break. And then I mean, even the
- 5:21Panthers were a playoff team. But our first six weeks of the
- 5:25season are incredibly difficult. It does ease up in the middle
- 5:32and then it's actually a pretty difficult finish to the year.
- 5:34We have Rd. game against the Raiders.
- 5:36Those division games can always be sketchy.
- 5:39Who knows, You know, like the Raiders could be fine in their
- 5:42stride late in the season too, so they could be tough.
- 5:46Then we've got the Bills on Christmas, we got to go to
- 5:49Foxborough to play the Patriots and we will end it off at home
- 5:54against the Chargers. But it's a pretty, the start of
- 5:58our year is a pretty brutal stretch and then the last 3-4
- 6:04games are pretty tough. But I I'll say the middle of the
- 6:07season, they're all very winnable games where we could
- 6:11pick up some steam and maybe put a little win streak together
- 6:14before we go into our the tough to offer part of our schedule.
- 6:23So see you some other news that we got going on.
- 6:28We had I mean we've got some altercations going on in these
- 6:31training camps. I don't know what's been going
- 6:33on at cheese camp, but they're they're just fighting each other
- 6:36and you're seeing guys like just lay out their teammates and
- 6:41practice. It's so I'm, I'm not sure what's
- 6:44going on in Kansas City. Maybe there's something on the
- 6:47wall there. But the Chiefs have been going
- 6:49hard. Dallas and New Orleans had
- 6:51multiple altercations yesterday, including a huge brawl that
- 6:57really derailed practice. You had Cleveland had to end the
- 7:01practice early because of excessive fighting.
- 7:04So football's an emotional, physical sport, but you know,
- 7:09you got to have toughness, but toughness also really, you know,
- 7:12is remaining disciplined when you're provoked.
- 7:16All right, then a little question for the viewers.
- 7:20How seriously should fans be taking pre season results?
- 7:24And then should the NFL punish serious practice fights like
- 7:27regular season fights? My 2 cents on that pre season
- 7:34results for do they do matter in the sense that you can kind of
- 7:40get a good gauge on, you know, how the offensive line look, you
- 7:46know how the coaching and play calling was?
- 7:50Because even when you get to like the the third and fourth
- 7:53string guys, you know, there's still play calling and coaching
- 7:57can still be a big factor. And then yeah, I mean, you see
- 8:01the guys that really that that stand out and really put out
- 8:05some good film. Those are guys that you want to,
- 8:09but I think you should just keep an eye on and keep keep in the
- 8:12back of your mind when you're when evaluating talent who might
- 8:15be a factor for your team, the practice fights.
- 8:19I think that I don't know if the NFL needs to necessarily get
- 8:22involved with that. That should be at the discretion
- 8:25of the teams because those joint practices are optional, but they
- 8:30do. That's just something that they
- 8:32do a lot and they they happen all the time.
- 8:36But that's not like they're derailing a gamer game or
- 8:39anything. So our takeaways, though, from
- 8:44the the preseason, not about undefeated records, about
- 8:48identifying which players coaches can be trusted when,
- 8:53when injuries occur, when things aren't going your way and just
- 9:01how how teams look in cohesively as a unit and body language on
- 9:06the sidelines. Another important thing, you
- 9:08know, even when got starters aren't playing, how are they
- 9:11responding to the backups performing out there?
- 9:17I think of a real good sign of a healthy team that has a good
- 9:20locker room and a lot of chemistry is when you see a lot
- 9:25of excitement from the first string guys watching players
- 9:31stand out, you know, watching these backups stand out and make
- 9:34some good big plays to to potentially secure their spot.
- 9:40And the fun in the preseason games is, you know, you have a
- 9:44lot of guys they're are they going to become a millionaire or
- 9:47are they going to be updating their LinkedIn?
- 9:49That's what a lot of these guys are fighting for and these these
- 9:54first few weeks. All right, I'll jump through
- 9:58some pre season scores too and give you guys some takeaways
- 10:00from some of those games. We had Lions and the Bengals in
- 10:05a 16 to 14 kind of stalemate. My big take away from that, the
- 10:10offensive line for the Bengals didn't look too great still.
- 10:13So we'll see about Joe Burrows. Health is a big concern for me.
- 10:18We have the Steelers kind of dominated the Packers.
- 10:23Interesting quarterback battle between all three guys cuz I
- 10:27mean, you have Drew Aller, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard all
- 10:32played really well. I mean, they help between the
- 10:35three of them, they only had six incompletions.
- 10:38They all three threw for combined 313 yards, 3 total
- 10:41touchdowns. Aller picked one up on the
- 10:45ground. So I mean, it'll be interesting
- 10:47cuz I like Rodgers is still going to be the starting
- 10:49quarterback. Seems like that's the strategy.
- 10:52It's like what, which one of these guys is not going to be on
- 10:54the roster Because I just doubt that you keep all three of them.
- 10:57That'll be very interesting take away there.
- 11:03Some of the Friday games, Anthony Richardson got off to a
- 11:08rough start, but he actually put together a pretty nice game when
- 11:1311/14 1:45 and a touchdown in the 13.
- 11:16The 13 draw with the Patriots. Cardinals picked up a 27 to 14
- 11:22win over the Raiders. A lot of takeaways from this
- 11:25game. No Carson back dealing with a
- 11:29rib injury, but Gardner Minshew looked really good too.
- 11:32So Jacoby Versette we came in was 5 for five in his limited
- 11:36reps Kirk Cousins was 5 to 6. Each of those guys threw for a
- 11:39touchdown with a an opening Dr. touchdown.
- 11:42Fernando Mendoza, he looked pretty sharp in this 10 to 1697
- 11:47and a touchdown I really love. He was just threading the
- 11:51needle, finding some tight windows there. 2 rookie running
- 11:56backs Jeremiah Love and Mike Washington both looked really
- 11:58impressive and some limited touches.
- 12:02And this one, Chargers got a pretty emphatic 27 to seven win
- 12:08over the Texans. Yeah, Davis Mills not looking
- 12:14too sharp that was and then Graham Mertz ended up getting
- 12:18injured in this one. We saw our first look at that DJ
- 12:24Ugly Ungolai in the NFL wasn't bad.
- 12:28Wasn't wasn't bad. I'll say that then Titans 49ers
- 12:32on another game on Friday. Dejean Stribling thought he was
- 12:37a big reach of the draft, but I could I might I'm I think I
- 12:40might be wrong about that. He looked, he looked really
- 12:44good. One of the best rookie wide
- 12:45receiver performances of the weekend.
- 12:49Some of our Friday action Quarterback Jalen, Yeah, you
- 12:52heard that right, Jalen, not Jaden.
- 12:54Jalen Daniels of the Buccaneers looked very sharp, 10 to 15111
- 12:59yards. He might be making the roster
- 13:01spot. I expect Braylon Allen, I've you
- 13:05know, he have 4 carries, 44 yards of a touchdown in this
- 13:08one. Expect him to be a health in a
- 13:11healthy part of this Jets offense this year.
- 13:16Bills played their first game in the new stadium.
- 13:19Josh Allen with pretty shot doing some vintage Josh Allen
- 13:22things. DJ Moore looked good in the
- 13:24Bills uniform. Highmark Stadium apparently is
- 13:29constricting or obscuring some views for people, so that'll be
- 13:33an interesting thing to keep an eye on throughout the season.
- 13:37The Browns have a three-way quarterback battle of absolute
- 13:41booty going on and they're and they're building.
- 13:45No, no one looked all too impressive out of Shadour,
- 13:48Deshaun Watson, and Dylan Gabriel.
- 13:50Everyone turned the ball over. Fumble from Deshaun,
- 13:53interceptions from Shadour and Gabriel.
- 13:56Nothing, nothing too good out of that quarterback room.
- 14:00No touchdowns from any of them. Casey Conception, though, didn't
- 14:06do a whole lot in the the passing game.
- 14:09HE3 catches 27 yards. He looked quick though.
- 14:12How have a rushing touchdown got involved a little bit in the
- 14:16return game and he looked pretty impressive there.
- 14:18Might have housed one if he didn't trip over his own feet.
- 14:20So that guy's going to be that guy's going to be pretty fun to
- 14:25to watch. I think he's also we'll, we'll
- 14:29talk about this when we get the mock drafts, but fantasy wise,
- 14:32the price tag that you can get them for cuz he's going super
- 14:35late is a pretty good price tag. And then Case Keenan didn't even
- 14:39know this guy was still in the league, but.
- 14:40He was. I know, I saw that.
- 14:42Playing for the Bears, look sharp tossing 2 tuds out there
- 14:46for them. Yeah, Jackson Dart on the
- 14:50Vikings game went to the blue medical tent, so that's got to
- 14:53be a little bit of A cause for concern for Giants fans.
- 14:57He got absolutely lit up, but Scathaboo back in action looked
- 15:00pretty good. We had Ty, Joe, Montana, Simpson
- 15:04get his first debut for the Rams.
- 15:06I know I might be overreacting a little bit, but man, he was
- 15:10sharp in this one. He.
- 15:15Had was being called the biggest reach of the draft.
- 15:18And yeah, it's one preseason game.
- 15:22We won't we won't say anything. But I, I liked what I saw.
- 15:26I mean, he was just in rhythm the whole game, 21 to 25, 192
- 15:31touchdowns. I mean, if the Rams keep their
- 15:35offensive line pretty consistent when he's there, that he was
- 15:38good at Alabama when the pockets were relatively clean and
- 15:43everything was on schedule. But he doesn't do great against
- 15:48unrelenting pressure. So that'll be something we will
- 15:51see from him as if he can develop and and just be better
- 15:56about processing the defense with pressure in his face.
- 16:01The man, I don't know if came in, you might have seen this the
- 16:05the Jags and Saints game, some really tough.
- 16:10It was a tough game for the production team.
- 16:12The first quarter, maybe in the first half, the white balance
- 16:15was just all out of whack. That was on the Saints
- 16:19broadcast. I mean, it was like the Jazz
- 16:21were wearing white uniforms just singe in your eyelids.
- 16:25And then you had on the flip side on the Jags broadcast,
- 16:29there was the white balance was like too Gray.
- 16:33So like everything was all dull and the colors were all all
- 16:36stunted. We got AI mean quarterback
- 16:42battle going on in New Orleans, not for the starting job, but
- 16:44for the backup. And I got to say Zach Wilson, he
- 16:49might be taking that from Spencer Rattler.
- 16:51He looked really good in this one we saw.
- 16:54I liked what I saw out of Audrick Estimate as well.
- 16:59Good, Some good things from both teams really.
- 17:03Joey Aguilar, Joey Jaguar. Prudential nickname there.
- 17:07I doubt we'll see he'll see the field too much.
- 17:09But threw a 43 yard pass. Then the Jags were really
- 17:15feeding this. Jamari Taylor.
- 17:17He had 22 carriers in this one. I mean well, I'm taken away from
- 17:22this game. Liam Cohen wants to run the
- 17:25football a lot 36 rush attempts and this one he was really
- 17:29seeing what he had out of a lot of his running backs.
- 17:35Then just some final notes. Guy I honestly never heard of
- 17:45for the Ravens Joe for now for new 22 of 28224 touchdown did
- 17:51throw in the reception as well, but looking like he might be the
- 17:56the third guy. We'll see if the Tyler Hunley
- 17:59Pro Bowl quarterback very well established, but for no might
- 18:03have threw got himself onto an NFL roster.
- 18:08And then Cole Payton, you know, not the most impressive passing
- 18:13numbers, but the dual threat ability.
- 18:16He's man, he's such a he's still just such a fascinating project
- 18:20to me because he had 45 rushing yards on three carries.
- 18:24So I don't know. We'll be interested to see what
- 18:29Sean with the new Eagles offensive coordinator Sean
- 18:32something blanket on his last name does with him.
- 18:35But he's just got such great rushing ability.
- 18:41He's very versatile. Yeah.
- 18:42I mean, he could be kind of like a Tasem Hill type for them if
- 18:45they get creative with them. So.
- 18:48So something to keep an eye on there.
- 18:51Hi, let's going to do it for our NFL pre season recap.
- 18:56We're going to move the baseball after the break where we have a
- 19:00spectacular Tuesday produced some spectacular defense and
- 19:04historic offense and a 19 run blowout.
- 19:09So stay tuned for that. All that more coming up on the
- 19:14final TIME out here in the military broadcast.
- 22:33The station Welcome back ladies and
- 22:53gentlemen to the final time out, the military broadcast radio.
- 22:59Just going over some of rock action for pre season.
- 23:05Now we're going to get into some baseball.
- 23:07Wild card races are heating up. We had an action-packed night.
- 23:12Last night's really good game. It's almost that time time of
- 23:17the year still, still a good chunk of the regular season
- 23:21left. We got a round out August and
- 23:24then we we go through a good chunk of September too.
- 23:28But it's, it's starting to get down to it.
- 23:30You know, we're starting to see who's pulling away and who's
- 23:36who's teetering off. So what what do we have
- 23:41happening? Last night we had T this Tatis
- 23:46take over. The Cubs got a walk off and
- 23:48Milwaukee scored nineteen runs, 22 actually.
- 23:58So we'll start with Fernando Tatis because he had one of the
- 24:01best all around performances this season.
- 24:04Robbed the Mets of a Grand Slam and hit two home runs as Padres
- 24:11won five to two. So, you know, preventing four
- 24:16runs while adding two more with his bat.
- 24:20That's just, I mean, insane value from him right there.
- 24:23And what do you guys think? What was more valuable was
- 24:27robbing the Grand Slam or hitting the two home runs?
- 24:32I mean, hitting the two home runs, it's hard to get one home
- 24:35run in the game, so I'm hitting two.
- 24:37Incredibly impressive, but I think the overall more impactful
- 24:42thing was preventing 4 homers from or four runs from coming
- 24:48in. Let me know what you guys think.
- 24:51Home runs or the robbing the Grand Slam.
- 24:55What's more impressive, Cubs earning another walk off victory
- 25:00over the White Sox. Pete Crow Armstrong hit his 31st
- 25:05home run and then Alex Bergman delivered the walk off.
- 25:10And then not too long ago, PCA also had a a walk off home run.
- 25:18I think it was two nights ago or might have been last night.
- 25:23So they've been they've been kind of living on those late
- 25:26game heroics the the Cubs have. I think in fact, there was
- 25:31actually just the might have also been against the White Sox.
- 25:36Yeah, yeah, it was the and the 10th inning.
- 25:39He got his first career walking off PCA didn't.
- 25:41Then literally the next night they get another walk off to
- 25:45take down the White Sox. Man, really.
- 25:50Cubs have been one of the hotter teams in baseball, though didn't
- 25:54come out of a sort of disappointing series against the
- 25:57Cardinals, But they're they're they're really right on
- 26:00Milwaukee's tail in terms of the the division race.
- 26:04They're not just four games back.
- 26:05So the Brewers cannot afford to to let off the gas and not let
- 26:14off the gas they did. Milwaukee just embarrassed the
- 26:20Mariners 22 to nothing. And what's crazy about this game
- 26:26is it was it was close for a for a little bit.
- 26:31I mean, it was a 1 nothing ball game heading into the bottom of
- 26:35the fifth inning. And then Milwaukee added five
- 26:38home runs. And then in the sixth they added
- 26:40five home runs. Then they added two more in the
- 26:44seventh and then nine in the eighth.
- 26:50And we didn't even get to the bottom of the ninth because
- 26:53Seattle didn't score 22 runs and they didn't score any runs.
- 26:59This is a, yeah, complete, complete meltdown out of the
- 27:04mayor. And there's, I mean, really the
- 27:05cherry on top of the night was Julio Rodriguez catching a pop
- 27:10fly, losing track of the outs and just throwing the ball into
- 27:15the stands. Thinking about that.
- 27:18He caught the final out and letting, yeah, you got one guy
- 27:21the the batter out, but the guys on base all came home and they
- 27:25gave. They can see the two runs that
- 27:29way. So if you're the Brewers, you
- 27:33love to see that out of your bats.
- 27:35I mean, they had a you forced the team that wanted to conserve
- 27:38their bullpen. So they have a position player
- 27:40come in and pitch and pitch in the ninth with a pitch in the
- 27:46eighth. I was was Rivas.
- 27:49And yeah, unsurprisingly, he did not do too hot with a 7 ERA,
- 27:54nine hits, nine runs, one one bother walks, no strikeouts,
- 28:04gave up a home run. So, I mean, I'll say to the
- 28:09Mariners, Bolt pitcher pitcher's credits.
- 28:11They only gave up four home runs.
- 28:14So, you know, and the game where you give up 22, it's not like
- 28:18all on the pitching. I mean, it's just some yeah, the
- 28:21infield outfit or the defense wasn't the wasn't the best on
- 28:26both the infield and the outfield.
- 28:30So dominant victory there. Yeah.
- 28:37You had Kristen Yulich head in the three run Homer.
- 28:41David Hamilton homered Jake Bowers out of the two run shot
- 28:47and just got too much to be for the for the Mariners.
- 28:53So it's one of those games that makes you think like, does
- 28:57baseball need a mercy rule? Well, I say Nah, maybe you could
- 29:02ask like, OK, you hit like 12, nothing, 15, nothing.
- 29:06Should you maybe the winning team stop playing aggressive.
- 29:10But it's a professional sport. You, these guys are getting
- 29:15paid. Everyone's getting paid.
- 29:17So you don't want them to score more runs.
- 29:20You got to stop them. Now we're entering the the
- 29:24stretch run stop. I mean, we're going to really
- 29:26see the teams that have bullpen depth, they're playing good
- 29:31defense and the players health is looking good.
- 29:34Those are our teams that we, you know, if you're better, you want
- 29:38to be putting your money on as we head to the words of playoffs
- 29:42and who's going to go on the potential deep run.
- 29:48Yeah, stars create the highlights, but the the post
- 29:54season races are often decided by middle relievers, defensive
- 29:58replacements and the hitting near the bottom of the lineup.
- 30:04Speaking of the wild card and division races, let's take a
- 30:09look at where we stand on some of those.
- 30:13The Red Sox cooled off a little bit.
- 30:15They're four and six in their last 10 after that huge winning
- 30:20streak that they went on. In terms of the wild card,
- 30:24though, they're still firmly in it.
- 30:28I mean, they're only two games behind the Yankees, the Rays
- 30:31with A5 game lead for the first place in their division.
- 30:38So I would still I'm I'm leaning towards Tampa Bay taking the
- 30:44East. I do think we're probably going
- 30:46to see probably both the Yankees and the Red Sox take two of
- 30:51those wild card spots and then it'll be between, you know, it's
- 30:57going to be between teams like the Twins, the the Guardians,
- 31:00the Rangers, Seattle's got an outside shot.
- 31:05I would probably say the Twins get that final wild card spot.
- 31:10I mean, the White Sox only have a three-game lead, 4 game lead
- 31:14over them. So maybe Minnesota gets hot and
- 31:19Chicago kind of hits a wall and they they drop into the wild
- 31:27card there. I didn't think the White Sox
- 31:30close it out and the absolute putrid AL West.
- 31:37And right now you have the yeah, they don't have a single team
- 31:40over 500. I'm not even like whoever wins
- 31:44this, I think it'll be it'll be one of their Texas teams.
- 31:50I mean, I give me the the Astros.
- 31:53I think they just are have a little more depth pitching wise
- 31:59some and some stronger, just stronger bats overall.
- 32:06But I don't you know, anything can happen in the the Pennant
- 32:11chase, but I just don't think we're seeing a team from the AL
- 32:15West go very deep. Maybe they win like they're they
- 32:19beat their wild card. But give me the Astros come out
- 32:21of the AL West at this moment, division winners, Astros, White
- 32:25Sox, Rays, we're going to have probably the the Yankees.
- 32:33Oh yeah, give me the Red Sox. Give me the Red Sox is your
- 32:35first wild card Yankees. And then the Twins.
- 32:38Give me the Twins. That'll be as of this way.
- 32:41That's rather the AL, the AL wild card or playoff predictions
- 32:47going over to the National League to see who we get.
- 32:53Look at first at the East. Atlanta holding the Braves off
- 32:58for now. Philly only 5 1/2 games back.
- 33:05Atlanta's been not as dominant as they were to start the year.
- 33:13Their outfield defenses looked very shaky at times.
- 33:16Just our defence, general overall, I will say those to
- 33:21their credit, when their bats are flying, they are one.
- 33:24I'm hitting up there, you know, full power.
- 33:27They are one of the toughest teams to beat.
- 33:29They do still have a really good bullpen.
- 33:32Chris Sale is still one of the best in the business.
- 33:39They made some of the trades to dress those outfield deeds.
- 33:41So I do think that they'll be able to close it out and win the
- 33:47East. Looking at the the Central in
- 33:53both the Cubs and Brewers pretty good in their last 10 games.
- 34:00They're both six and four. They're they're both looking
- 34:04really strong here. I think Milwaukee's just got a
- 34:09little more depth to close it out and win this.
- 34:14It's going to be really close. It is going to be this, I think
- 34:18will be the closest division race of the entire final stretch
- 34:22here. So keep this is the long keeping
- 34:24the closest eye on. It wouldn't entirely shock me
- 34:29with all the momentum Chicago's got if they were able to take
- 34:33out for Milwaukee, but it's been more of a late surge from them.
- 34:38So I just wonder, will it will they cool off?
- 34:42Will you know, that'll be kind of kind of keep this going.
- 34:46I I like Milwaukee. I think it's just a deeper team.
- 34:49It was why they're they've been able to stay and be so good for
- 34:52all all season. This is going to be a really
- 34:55close race. I think Saint Louis at 65 and
- 34:5962, they're they're out of probably winning the division.
- 35:05So they're they're looking at a wild card spot here, their best
- 35:10chance. I mean, they need either the
- 35:12Padres to really drop a lot of games.
- 35:15Same with either the Phillies. But I think it's the them and
- 35:18the Diamondbacks are going to be really competing heavy for that
- 35:21last spot, which kind of brings me down to the AL West here.
- 35:27The Dodgers have 8 game lead. I just don't think anybody's
- 35:33good enough to catch them. They'll probably, they're going
- 35:37to win the West. I would imagine Padres will and
- 35:44Phillies, I think will really be battling for.
- 35:47I mean, we'll probably be that second wild card spot.
- 35:51Whoever doesn't make it out of the Central is going to is going
- 35:58to probably have that first wild card spot.
- 36:00They're going to have the best record there.
- 36:04The drop National League predictions I'll take.
- 36:07I'll take the Braves out of the East.
- 36:12Proceeding, we'll go Brewers one, Dodgers 2, Braves three.
- 36:18Cubs are going to be 4, giving the Phillies as the five and
- 36:29Padres probably the Padres as the six.
- 36:33Actually, I don't know if they have Diamondbacks or Cardinals
- 36:38can make it. That'll be close.
- 36:40That's going to be really close between all three of those
- 36:42teams. Let me know what you guys think.
- 36:46Who's who's going to come out of these, these wild card and
- 36:51division races. What you're sitting on the the
- 36:55post season's going to look like we're going to go ahead and hit
- 37:00our next break coming up after that, we've got the WNBA playoff
- 37:05field taking shape. I'm Kelsey Mitchell just
- 37:08delivered another dominant performance and we've just seen
- 37:12we're seeing some real hooping going on here.
- 37:14So stay tuned. We got all that more coming up

- 41:01MV Radio dot US. We're back at it the final time
- 41:10out on military broadcast radio. It's a good time today, folks,
- 41:15having a good time enjoying the show.
- 41:17Hope everyone's enjoying the show.
- 41:18Just going to jump into it, get right into a WNBA playoff race.
- 41:24Minnesota, Las Vegas and now Golden State have officially
- 41:27secured playoff berths. Minnesota's just been the
- 41:30league's most consistent team with a breakout rookie star in
- 41:34Olivia Miles Las Vegas. They possess that championship
- 41:38experience and they have the best player in the world and
- 41:43Asia Wilson and Golden State reaching the playoffs in just
- 41:47their second season. It's a young, hungry roster.
- 41:51They play absolutely smothering defense.
- 41:53They've been hands down the best defensive unit in the team.
- 41:58They live by the mantra no easy buckets.
- 42:03We have Indiana last night defeated Toronto one O 2 the 95
- 42:09and approve the 12 and 4. They're close to securing a
- 42:12playoff spot as well. Kelsey Mitchell scored 16 points
- 42:17in the first quarter and finished with 29 despite sitting
- 42:21out the entire 4th. Mitchell and Caitlin Clark
- 42:25really have become one of the most exciting backcourt duos to
- 42:29watch in the whole WNBA. They kind of been a closer
- 42:34record setting backcourt combination.
- 42:36They just create a very difficult choice for opposing
- 42:40defenses. Caitlin just with her elite
- 42:45shooting abilities and it's so lethal out from three and I mean
- 42:50Kelsey Mitchell can also knock down threes and then she is just
- 42:53such, she's so good at scoring under the rim, though to just
- 42:59have to leave one guard one-on-one because the other
- 43:05receives space or if you send additional house to one guard,
- 43:09the other receives space. I mean, they just a lot of a lot
- 43:12of conundrums there. Question for everyone in the
- 43:15calendar while we go over a couple more things on the WNBA
- 43:18side. Which team is you trust most
- 43:21most in a playoff series? You've got Minnesota's
- 43:23consistency. Las Vegas is experience
- 43:28Indiana's explosive back court. And I've talking about explosive
- 43:32back court. Do is throw it and let the
- 43:33landed dream in there as well. Or Golden State's fearless young
- 43:39roster and smothering defense. Now Speaking of the Dream and an
- 43:46exciting back court duos. This was a fantastic game that I
- 43:49wanted to flashback to you. One that went to overtime
- 43:53between the Dream and the Fever. And it was just, you know, great
- 43:59guard play all on display whether you had the other.
- 44:06Caitlin had scored 26 points with 9 cysts.
- 44:11One thing she's got to work, she's got to get them turnover
- 44:13numbers down. That will be, that's my biggest
- 44:18concern with the Fever is Caitlin is a phenomenal
- 44:22playmaker. She's a phenomenal playmaker,
- 44:24but the turnovers have really been a problem this season.
- 44:28That's something that can really kill your momentum in the
- 44:31postseason. But it's 26 points, 9 assists,
- 44:37really good. You had Kelsey Mitchell, she
- 44:39scored 20 in this one. This game though, we're talking
- 44:43about the explosive backwards, but you can't forget about the
- 44:46woman that carried the Fever to the semi finals last year
- 44:51despite all their injuries. Aaliyah Boston, just showing why
- 44:55she was the number one pick all those years ago.
- 44:57She had 18 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists, but it was her
- 45:02defensive impact, 5 steals and three blocked shots.
- 45:07I mean, that is 8 possessions that she stopped on her own.
- 45:15That's in I mean, insane defensive impact and most of her
- 45:20rebounds were defensive rebounds as well.
- 45:22So just cannot be understated that defensive impact there.
- 45:28But I talked about the the explosive front court or
- 45:32backward duel of the fever toward Canada was actually sick
- 45:37did not play in this game. And Despite that, you know,
- 45:40that's why you have a Ryan Howard on roster.
- 45:43Usually the runs the offense off the bench.
- 45:46But she came in here delivered 17 points and 43 minutes had
- 45:51five assists as well stealing the block.
- 45:54Alicia Gray, the other part of that really explosive backcourt
- 45:59duo of the Dream dropped 32 points was with 7 rebounds and
- 46:06five assists as well 32, seven and five game.
- 46:09Not too shabby. And I, we know, I know a lot of
- 46:16people like to come out here and she's not the best shooter.
- 46:19But Angel Reese, her impact for this team that really struggled
- 46:26just having a presence in the post last year and getting
- 46:30second chance points. Her rebounding ability has been
- 46:33huge for this team and there's a big reason why they will likely
- 46:40be top. They could have a chance of
- 46:42being a top four seed come playoff time.
- 46:46But yeah, this is a fantastic back and forth game.
- 46:51Just saw really great defense from Indiana, which is in the
- 46:55late stages, which was a good sign if you're a Fever fan, that
- 46:58that clutch defense was pretty good.
- 47:01I held a held the Dream to 9 points and 10 points in the
- 47:06fourth quarter and then overtime.
- 47:10So really impressive. Like to see that.
- 47:13Taking a look at the standings, how the playoff race is shaping
- 47:17up. The Fever did actually jump the
- 47:21Aces and the standings just because they have one less loss,
- 47:25but they have the wins are the same.
- 47:29So I think Indiana will probably be the next team we see clinch a
- 47:34playoff berth. See the next game coming up here
- 47:38is going to be tomorrow night against the wings.
- 47:43That'll be the two former number one overall picks going up
- 47:47against each other. Pagebackers who and year 2 has
- 47:52really helped propel this Dallas wings team into a potential
- 47:57playoff team here. It's, you know, starting
- 48:02starting to pull away the the teams that aren't in the race
- 48:05right now are really going to need to go and get hot and hope
- 48:09that somebody hits losing streak.
- 48:12Currently the next closest team to the 8 spots of Portland Fire.
- 48:16They're about five games out of the playoff contention.
- 48:19Dallas and Washington both with twenty wins on the season.
- 48:26I wouldn't be too shocked if what we have right now, the one
- 48:30through 8 holds up with maybe just some leapfrogging here or
- 48:33there. I do think Vegas will probably
- 48:36jump back up into the the three, potentially the two spot got to
- 48:40get. I mean the warriors, the
- 48:42Valkyries rather got to give them major credit with 25 and 9.
- 48:48What they've done in this in year 2.
- 48:50They're they've been really good.
- 48:53It's I mean, they just give up. They're they're just so tough on
- 48:59the defense. They just give up nothing easy.
- 49:02It's not like an an overly explosive team.
- 49:04I mean they're leading scorer per game is is Gabby Williams
- 49:08with her 415 game. They just take their they take
- 49:14their shots when they're there and they use their defense to
- 49:20create offense and a lot of wins and they're lot, I mean, they've
- 49:25only they've only really lost two games this month.
- 49:34So they're going to be a problem.
- 49:37I mean, they've got I think they just my only concern for them
- 49:41is, you know, who's going to be the the primary ball handler and
- 49:46who's going to who's going to run the offense and how their
- 49:51how their half court offense is going to look in the playoffs.
- 49:53But the way they play defense, it's a recipe to go deep.
- 50:00I'll just see that the inexperience and sometimes the
- 50:07the slowness and difficulties they have in the half court
- 50:10might come back to bite them. But I could, you know, we'll see
- 50:13if they get they get that locked in and and ironed out in the
- 50:19coming coming weeks here. So yeah, who do we think is
- 50:25going to surprise us and make the next clinch the next spot
- 50:29and let me know, you know, who are we liking for NVPI?
- 50:34Mean and Rookie of the year, Defensive Player of the year.
- 50:39I think NVP is going to be, I think Asia's securing her 5th.
- 50:43It's just Kelsey Mitchell's the only player I can see maybe with
- 50:49a shot to to catch her, but she's not.
- 50:53I don't think she really does enough in terms of of rebounding
- 50:58and then the defensive impact that Asia also has witnessing.
- 51:05I mean, probably maybe. I don't think we can make a case
- 51:08she's the greatest player to to play the game.
- 51:10I mean, she's looking at MVP #5 could potentially win DPO line
- 51:14#4 potential for another championship.
- 51:18This would be her 5th, 4th, 5th, Can't remember that she has
- 51:25another season. I mean, at 30 years old, she
- 51:29hasn't lost that step at all. She's averaging 2610 and three,
- 51:37pulling in about, you know, 1 1/2 steals per game and blocking
- 51:43about two shots per game. Just like, yeah, I don't know,
- 51:51there's just really no one else that really has the overall
- 51:54around impact that she does. And then Olivia Miles should
- 51:57take one away with Rookie of the Year.
- 52:01I mean, she has just immediately slid into that starting point
- 52:06guard role for the links and they've been so much more
- 52:13dominant for that because they just I mean, that was a lot of
- 52:16pressure to put on her and like as a rookie to be the primary
- 52:20ball handler to run the half court offense.
- 52:22And she hasn't shield away at that at all.
- 52:25She's very creative score. Some of their their bigs, you
- 52:31know, Collier McBride, they just run that pick and roll with her
- 52:38so well, not not McBride, but you know, they just run the pick
- 52:43and roll with her so well. It's been that's why they've
- 52:47been the best team and the West and why they'll probably be the
- 52:51first team to hit thirty wins. They're nine and one in their
- 52:55last 10 games, 19 and two in in conference, surprisingly even
- 53:02better on the road, the best offense in the league, second
- 53:10best behind the fever. But the fever have, you know,
- 53:12like two of the most explosive scores and the NBA WNBA, they
- 53:17have two of the top five scores per game.
- 53:23So all right, going to do a little bit of a shorter coverage
- 53:28there. Go ahead and hit our next break
- 53:32because when we come back, I've got slideshow for everybody
- 53:40after we're going to go over some upcoming college football
- 53:46season. So stay with us.
- 53:48Don't go anywhere. You're watching The Final TIME
- 53:51Out Here military broadcast radio.
- 58:11All righty. Welcome back, ladies and
- 58:12gentlemen. They didn't give me my theme
- 58:14music that was messed up. We are watching.
- 58:19You're watching the final time out in military broadcast radio.
- 58:25A good show today and I got a little treat for everyone.
- 58:28I made a little slideshow just to help visualize this.
- 58:33We're doing some conference power rankings just to see what
- 58:42we've got coming up for this upcoming college football
- 58:47season. Let me adjust this just a little
- 58:51bit better so we can get everything all nice and in there
- 58:59perfect. All right, here we go.
- 59:00So some conference power rankings.
- 59:03I'm going to go ahead and rank from weakest to strongest
- 59:09college football, FBS only college Football Conference.
- 59:12And then I'm going to give you not record predictions, but just
- 59:16where I think the final standings are going to go.
- 59:19How many potential playoff or bowl game teams we've gone each
- 59:23conference. So let's just get right into it.
- 59:27I'm going to go with the Mac at the bottom.
- 59:30Look, don't get me wrong, I love a little bit of action on a
- 59:36Tuesday night, Wednesday night, whatever it might be.
- 59:40There's a lot of pride in these Mac schools here.
- 59:44But overall, I just don't think they're going to impact the
- 59:49overall playoff or bowl game landscape too much.
- 59:52I expect Western Michigan to be the the best team in that
- 1:00:01conference again. I wouldn't be surprised if
- 1:00:04Toledo is good. They'll probably hit the bowl
- 1:00:08game. Ohio University, they usually
- 1:00:12have a solid program there. They had a they had a solid
- 1:00:19recruiting class, got some decent transfers in there as
- 1:00:23well. No one just really had that.
- 1:00:26Like an incredibly explosive or ground breaking recruiting or
- 1:00:33transfer class this year. So overall, I don't think we're
- 1:00:40going to see too it's going to be it's going to be too
- 1:00:42impactful. Some other teams.
- 1:00:46You know, I I could wouldn't be surprised if Akron maybe sneaks
- 1:00:49in. There is like a bowl game Subak,
- 1:00:51like Miami of Ohio in there. Bowling Green is a team that I
- 1:00:57wouldn't be surprised if they do better than I'm I'm projecting
- 1:01:01them. I mean, 7th in the conference
- 1:01:03isn't terrible, but they did have a really strong recruiting
- 1:01:07class. They just didn't do a whole lot
- 1:01:08with the transfer portal. One of the bottom teams in their
- 1:01:13conference in terms of full transfer portal things don't
- 1:01:19have a ton of faith in UMass. I I mean, you might be able to
- 1:01:21flip flip them in Kent State. I feel like you should Michigan,
- 1:01:25it's going to be down here. We've got Ball and SAC State,
- 1:01:31newcomer to the FBS, SAC State, I think they'll do, they'll do
- 1:01:35all right. But all of the new new coming
- 1:01:40teams to the FBSI don't think they're going to their
- 1:01:43transitions going to go as well. And we got Buffalo Bowling Green
- 1:01:49in there. The Mac.
- 1:01:52It's always fun to watch. You get some random Mac game on
- 1:01:56the on like a Tuesday, Wednesday night, like it it.
- 1:02:00There's some chaos, there's some drama there.
- 1:02:04They're all the action's always a good time.
- 1:02:06But I don't think we'll be seeing too many teams going
- 1:02:09bowling this year. From there.
- 1:02:12The next conference I got is the Conference USA.
- 1:02:20Again, I don't really see a playoff team coming out of here,
- 1:02:24but I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few teams that make
- 1:02:26a bowl game. I have some of the kind of like
- 1:02:28a fringe bowl game territory as well.
- 1:02:31I do you think Jacksonville State's going to probably win
- 1:02:34this? Again, Liberty really shot up.
- 1:02:38They even received the vote to be in the the top 25, which I
- 1:02:41thought was a little much. I mean, they have a very good
- 1:02:46transfer portal. They got 29 total commits.
- 1:02:54They had some had some SEC guys and like ACCI mean, there's some
- 1:02:59power conference guys, you know, come over to them.
- 1:03:04Jude Foster, linebacker from, I mean, I'm sorry, interior
- 1:03:11lineman from old Miss Brody and Isaiah Guy, who had a good
- 1:03:16season in the secondary at South Florida.
- 1:03:21Deshawn Purdy from Wake Forest, stole Georgia's long snapper,
- 1:03:29got a couple of three star, got a three star lineman from North
- 1:03:35Carolina State. Jalen Henderson from West
- 1:03:38Virginia, the quarterback from West Virginia transferred over
- 1:03:41here. So I expect them to probably be
- 1:03:45the best team here, one of the best teams.
- 1:03:48I I'm leaning more towards a Jacksonville State finishing it
- 1:03:51off, but Liberty could definitely surprise you and and
- 1:03:54win that I might they might be flip a flip there.
- 1:03:58I think whoever wins this, it's very on the fringe of a playoff
- 1:04:02team. We do have two group of six
- 1:04:04teams that can that will make the playoffs.
- 1:04:08They are guaranteed a spot there.
- 1:04:11I expect Kennesaw State again, they should be pretty good this
- 1:04:14year. Delaware, I expect that they
- 1:04:19were, you know, one of their first seasons of the FBS, they
- 1:04:21were pretty good, seven and six. I expect them to maybe win one
- 1:04:26to two more games, make a bowl game as well.
- 1:04:29Western Kentucky had a very good recruiting class.
- 1:04:34They were actually second in the conference.
- 1:04:37Jacksonville State, though, 30 total commits, all three stars
- 1:04:41as well. And the recruiting, So that's
- 1:04:44why I got them up there, that Western Kentucky should make a
- 1:04:47bowl game as well. And then, yeah, I've got
- 1:04:52Missouri State, Sam Houston kind of on the fringes of potentially
- 1:04:57making a bowl game there. I I think they'll be right
- 1:05:04around that like five to seven wins zone.
- 1:05:09And we'll see if they make it FIU in New Mexico State, Middle
- 1:05:13Tennessee, kind of expect those that they'll all be in that like
- 1:05:18three the five win range. So not again, just kind of an
- 1:05:26over underwhelming conference in terms of the overall impact on
- 1:05:29the the postseason landscape. All right, the Mountain West,
- 1:05:35they're up here because they they do have one potential
- 1:05:40playoff team. But I think as a conference, the
- 1:05:44Mountain West got a whole lot weaker.
- 1:05:46They lost arguably their best two teams, two of their most
- 1:05:53dominant teams that just have a really good, that were really
- 1:05:58good for them last year and that really wouldn't if they were
- 1:06:01still in the conference, bump them up in terms of the power
- 1:06:05rankings. I've got UNLV.
- 1:06:07They had, you know, the best transfer portal and the best
- 1:06:12recruiting class in the entire Mountain West brought in.
- 1:06:18I mean, like some of the names on the transfer portal that
- 1:06:20might jump out. They brought in that Mark I
- 1:06:23anchor. If I'm saying that, right,
- 1:06:25Jackson Arnold departed from Auburn to come play quarterback
- 1:06:29here. Avery Helen left TCU, you got
- 1:06:34defensive lineman and Herb Gray from the Tennessee.
- 1:06:38Troy Stello left Kentucky to come play here.
- 1:06:41They brought in. They still got it from Middle
- 1:06:43Tennessee as well. Taz Riddicks left Oregon State
- 1:06:47to come here. So I mean they brought in a
- 1:06:50number of good three star transfers.
- 1:06:55They have a very strong recruiting class, 28 commits
- 1:06:58overall. So again, they've got the depth.
- 1:07:01They were one of the competing for the Mountain West title last
- 1:07:06year as well. I do think they will win this
- 1:07:12and their potential playoff hopeful if they put together a
- 1:07:16good season. But I like I'm talking about
- 1:07:18like they've got to be like maybe one loss and to have the
- 1:07:25other group of two team and maybe what's considered a
- 1:07:30stronger conference have two losses.
- 1:07:32I think so, like if UNLV, which I think it's possible they could
- 1:07:38go like 11 and one in the regular season, but we'll take a
- 1:07:44look at there their schedule. Let's see.
- 1:07:49But if they do that, I do think they can they can go and become
- 1:07:55the one of those group of two teams, group of six teams.
- 1:07:59That makes it one of the two group of six teams.
- 1:08:02A little bit of a tough stretch to open the year.
- 1:08:05I mean, they've got what should be a good Memphis team.
- 1:08:08They've got to go on the road to play Hawaii and at North Texas,
- 1:08:15Akron. So they have three Rd. games to
- 1:08:17start the year. Then they're they got a bit of a
- 1:08:19home stretch against California and North Dakota State, newcomer
- 1:08:22to the FBS. They have to go at Air Force who
- 1:08:25should be a lot better this year.
- 1:08:28Then the final stretch of the season though against Northern
- 1:08:32Illinois, Wyoming, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Nevada.
- 1:08:36Not impossible for them to come out of that and only lose like
- 1:08:39one year. I think Hawaii will be the
- 1:08:41toughest one. I mean, you see, I've got them,
- 1:08:43the Rainbow Warriors as the second place team.
- 1:08:45I think they did a lot of good stuff to retain some of their
- 1:08:49talents. They had a top five in
- 1:08:53conference transfer portal class brought in, didn't do a whole
- 1:08:59lot in the recruit, but they didn't have a ton of players
- 1:09:01leaving so they didn't need to do a ton of recruiting.
- 1:09:07Brought in a three star quarterback from he didn't
- 1:09:10really see the field book Bjorn Jorgensen from Virginia, running
- 1:09:15back Devin Rice from K State, some exciting prospects there.
- 1:09:19So I think Hawaii could have if they they'd have to do pretty
- 1:09:26much the same thing as what UNLV did and only lose 1 game, which
- 1:09:29will be tough. But I I expect them to be
- 1:09:32competing for the Mountain West. And now I got North Dakota
- 1:09:35State's team that I think could really be, it was was FBS ready
- 1:09:38a while ago. I think, I mean, this is a bit
- 1:09:41of a, a weaker Mountain West than in years past.
- 1:09:45So I think they're primed to be one of the top dogs in here.
- 1:09:48Well, we, hey, we got a, we got a text from 6207.
- 1:09:54Tyson expects in those two months when Kamara gets hurt
- 1:09:58again. Oh, you're talking about the
- 1:10:01Jordan Tyson. Yeah, I guess so.
- 1:10:04Yeah, Saints have had some unfortunate injury luck.
- 1:10:08I mean, luckily for New Orleans, you have Travis HN there who can
- 1:10:13undoubtedly fill in as the RV one.
- 1:10:16It'll be unfortunate they're going to be missing Tyson,
- 1:10:19though. That's going to be tough to to
- 1:10:24get the get them integrated into the offense in the midway point
- 1:10:27of the season. But and then to get Camaro back
- 1:10:32in there, been unfortunate with the injury bug.
- 1:10:36OK, All those are the Mountain West rankings.
- 1:10:40Like I said, couple teams I could see making a bowl game.
- 1:10:43Actually a little on the fence about Wyoming.
- 1:10:45I might say that they're a fringe bowl team.
- 1:10:47Air Force should be good again. I don't expect them to be
- 1:10:51struggle as much as they did. So that's where we got the
- 1:10:54Mountain Rest W rankings. Our next conference, the Sunbelt
- 1:11:00here. It's kind of small, but I see
- 1:11:05there's three potential playoff teams if one of them has a
- 1:11:08dominant enough season in the conference again, it's they
- 1:11:11gotta have like one loss is probably the cut off where they
- 1:11:16go like undefeated. JMU made the playoff last year
- 1:11:20actually was fairly competitive with Oregon.
- 1:11:24I mean, they didn't score 34. They just couldn't stop.
- 1:11:28Couldn't, you know, stop anything, Couldn't stop.
- 1:11:30They're just wet tissue paper on defense.
- 1:11:32But it did did look serviceable in the postseason.
- 1:11:39So I think they're potential playoff hopeful.
- 1:11:43I know you see App stayed on there and you might think, OK,
- 1:11:46has he lost his mind? But App State had the best
- 1:11:50recruiting class in the the conference, the best scored
- 1:11:54recruiting class and they were near the top.
- 1:11:59They were second best in terms of transfer portal.
- 1:12:01So I just think they have a strong portal and a strong
- 1:12:06recruiting season. They poached the QB from
- 1:12:11Kennesaw State, brought in the defensive lineman from what was
- 1:12:14a very defense dominant defensive front and Oklahoma and
- 1:12:20Ricky Lojo. A lot of, you know, just some
- 1:12:25exciting three star prospects, but that they had a very strong
- 1:12:31recruiting and transfer portal. So I expect them to be very a
- 1:12:35lot better. JMU is still the top dog.
- 1:12:39I mean, they absolutely killed it in terms of the transfer
- 1:12:42portal. They just didn't have the
- 1:12:44strongest recruiting class compared to some of the other
- 1:12:47teams in their conference. So give me Apps State to
- 1:12:53potentially take all take down JMU.
- 1:12:58Arkansas State's going to be one of those fringe maybe playoff
- 1:13:02teams that they put it all together again.
- 1:13:03They had a very strong recruiting and transfer portal
- 1:13:07class as well. I think they just did a good job
- 1:13:09of bringing the new talent overall as well.
- 1:13:14Old Dominion didn't lose too much talent wise, so they didn't
- 1:13:21need to do too much in terms of recruiting and transferring.
- 1:13:23So I expect them to still be fairly good in here.
- 1:13:26Coastal Carolina, Troy, all teams I think could be bowl game
- 1:13:30hopeful. And then South Alabama is kind
- 1:13:32of where I I draw it. This will be this will be an
- 1:13:37interesting conference. I do kind of expect like 2, two
- 1:13:45to three teams to really jump out and be dominant.
- 1:13:49A lot of these other teams I'm I'm putting in like a four to
- 1:13:52eight win window here, you know, like the teams like 8 and down
- 1:13:57there like a four to six win window, 7 through 4:00.
- 1:14:04I've got those those could be potential seven to nine win
- 1:14:08teams is where I I'm seeing all of their their kind of totals
- 1:14:12and then three up 910, maybe 11 games.
- 1:14:17I don't think anybody goes undefeated, but I wouldn't be
- 1:14:20surprised if one of these teams just really dominates through
- 1:14:23that the post season. All right now we're coming to
- 1:14:26the new PAC 12 and I've got 2 potential playoff teams in here.
- 1:14:35So Boise State, San Diego State I both think are absolutely
- 1:14:42playoff hopefuls. San Diego State had a really
- 1:14:47dominant defense last year. Fairly good recruiting class as
- 1:14:52well. Boise was just one of the, you
- 1:14:58know, they they won the Mountain West last year.
- 1:15:01I think they'll be the top. I mean, they just have a very
- 1:15:05healthy program there. Didn't lose a ton of their, I
- 1:15:09think they got a good amount of returning players.
- 1:15:12Should be the same quarterback there as well, if I'm not
- 1:15:17mistaken. So yeah, Boise is going to be
- 1:15:21bringing back a lot of their talents.
- 1:15:28They got I I think they'll win this.
- 1:15:31It's going to be tough between them and San Diego State.
- 1:15:33They're those teams are really got a lot of I've got high hopes
- 1:15:38for Washington State though, too.
- 1:15:39I think they got a lot better brought in the new head coach.
- 1:15:47They had a fairly good transfer portal as well.
- 1:15:54Brought in some really exciting talents.
- 1:15:58I really love they brought in on the offensive line.
- 1:16:02Got a probably going to butcher this, but Callalo Tiaga from
- 1:16:06Utah. A big fan of that signing Daniel
- 1:16:13blood sick name dope name out of Missouri to add some speed to
- 1:16:22the to the wide receiver room. Kaden Pinnock who came from I
- 1:16:30think that's Alcorn State. So FCS but three star prospect
- 1:16:36he's got some experience at that level.
- 1:16:42So he's bringing some bringing some experience to the room.
- 1:16:47DJ Warner, SMU could be very disruptive for them off the
- 1:16:51edge. So we'll have to be hopeful
- 1:16:53there for for Washington State, for the Cougars.
- 1:16:58I've got Fresno. I've been going back and forth
- 1:17:03on where I want to put Fresno. They may honestly slide back to
- 1:17:08six. And then I'd move Oregon State
- 1:17:11and CSU up if I could. Again, CSU had a really strong
- 1:17:16recruiting and transfer portal. They were the top.
- 1:17:19They had the most commits through the transfer portal and
- 1:17:24the entire PAC 12. So they built up, built a strong
- 1:17:28program in there. Darrell Robinson from from
- 1:17:36Auburn, They got a lot of Huskies, a lot.
- 1:17:39The Huskies were good. Kaesong Ferrar, quarterback, the
- 1:17:44Deer Teerridge, tight end and Diego Robinson, offensive
- 1:17:47tackle, as well as Oliver Lundenberg, Terence Smith.
- 1:17:53I think they actually hired Blake on his name, but they did
- 1:17:57hire, what's his name, the Uconn's head head coach.
- 1:18:06So I think that's a lot of his players followed him over there.
- 1:18:15Which is a good thing for the for the Rams.
- 1:18:17I mean, I'm just not super. I don't want to get my hopes up
- 1:18:22with them too much. They haven't been the Yeah,
- 1:18:29yeah. So it was Jim Moore that was his
- 1:18:31name came over from UConn and brought a lot of his guys with
- 1:18:36him. I mean, Jackson, Harper, Tory on
- 1:18:39Johnson. So I'll, I want to, I want to
- 1:18:46see it first, but I think we'd I'd move CSU up to 5, Oregon
- 1:18:49State up to 4, flip, flip Fresno back to six.
- 1:18:53All those teams still bowl game hopefuls, Utah State and Texas
- 1:18:57I'd leave out of it. But new PAC 12.
- 1:19:00Let me know what your thoughts are on that.
- 1:19:02That's it's going to be a lot of fun.
- 1:19:03I'm excited and looking forward to seeing what the new PAC 12
- 1:19:06looks like. All right.
- 1:19:08And then the American is our top Group of 6 conference.
- 1:19:13There's going to be a, there's definitely going to be at least
- 1:19:17one playoff team out of here. The American, I'm very confident
- 1:19:23we're going to see one playoff team.
- 1:19:27I'm going to all but guarantee it.
- 1:19:29I think it's going to be South Florida.
- 1:19:32They have a like 44 players transferred into their school.
- 1:19:39So they brought in a lot of talent.
- 1:19:41Some of the guys that jump out, they got a guy from the Navy,
- 1:19:45Jalen Isaviato, offensive lineman.
- 1:19:49They brought in corner from BYU and Tavion Beasley.
- 1:19:58This is where I think they'll be exciting.
- 1:20:00Michael Van Buren, junior, transferred from LSU, didn't
- 1:20:05want to weigh the year behind Sam Levitt.
- 1:20:08So he he comes here, he wants a chance to play.
- 1:20:11Showed some good things when Garrett Nussmeyer was hurt.
- 1:20:13I mean, it was just kind of like a tough situation when they
- 1:20:15coming in late in the year against, you know, some SEC
- 1:20:20teams fighting for a playoff position and everything like
- 1:20:22that. Sonny Redwood, Harrison saga.
- 1:20:28I mean, they just, they pulled in a ton of talent off the
- 1:20:33transfer portal. Bryson Rogers out of Ohio State.
- 1:20:40I mean, they're they were stagging.
- 1:20:42I mean, they they're stagging guys from Division Three guys
- 1:20:46are they're tired of trying to wait, wait behind on the depth
- 1:20:49chart. They only get give themselves a
- 1:20:50chance to play. So yeah, a really strong
- 1:20:56transfer portal. I mean, 44 commits is huge.
- 1:20:59But the team I got behind them, Memphis, another playoff
- 1:21:03hopeful, they had 52 commits as well.
- 1:21:12Looking at Alonte Brown, an exciting prospect from Michigan
- 1:21:19State, you've got that. Manny Covey came over from
- 1:21:23Tennessee. Another another exciting
- 1:21:31receiver in Tai Chong, Chapman safety Amir Foster.
- 1:21:39Yeah. I mean, 52 commits is insane.
- 1:21:42I think it's going to absolutely be between one of those two to
- 1:21:46win the American. They're just both really good.
- 1:21:50Memphis had a very strong recruiting class as well.
- 1:21:54Tulane, though, who's my number three team, The best recruiting
- 1:21:58class in the American 20 commits, the highest overall
- 1:22:02scored class based on just the ratings and everything.
- 1:22:09You know what, maybe I'm biased because I work here at military
- 1:22:12broadcast radio, but I'm going to give Navy the nod as a
- 1:22:18playoff hopeful. They just do.
- 1:22:20I mean, they do such a good. Obviously they don't really have
- 1:22:25the transfer things there, but they just are really well
- 1:22:29coached, very disciplined team. I think they could be again, A12
- 1:22:35win team. So maybe they potentially are in
- 1:22:39play for the American Conference fringe playoff.
- 1:22:42Hope for fringe though. I'll I'll keep my expectations
- 1:22:45tampered, but they're AB Army and Navy.
- 1:22:47I think they're both absolutely making a bowl game.
- 1:22:49I know they have an army. Had a number of players leave my
- 1:22:53shot. Chicken Little, former
- 1:22:55infantryman did the show with me for a while to tell me they have
- 1:22:5921 players leave. But they extended their head
- 1:23:01coach Jeff Munkin, so the system works.
- 1:23:06I think they'll be just as an imposing.
- 1:23:10They should be pretty good. North Texas lost a lot of
- 1:23:14talent, lost their head coach. He's off to Oklahoma State, you
- 1:23:20know, lost what's his face, Drew Messmaker.
- 1:23:27Yeah. We're going to move on, though,
- 1:23:29to our next one, the Independence here.
- 1:23:33I'm not like they're kind of just an honorable mention before
- 1:23:36we get into the power conferences because Notre Dame
- 1:23:42will go to a bowl game if they don't opt out of it.
- 1:23:48Sorry, let me, I'm jumping the gun here.
- 1:23:50We'll go to the bowl game if they don't opt out of it.
- 1:23:52They're also probably going to be a playoff team because they
- 1:23:54threw a fit. If they win enough games,
- 1:23:57they're going to be in the playoffs.
- 1:23:59We will mean well know what your guys think because I'm going to
- 1:24:04let me tell you what Notre Dame schedule is.
- 1:24:08Is it difficult enough for the for them to deserve to be in the
- 1:24:11bowl game? Because I mean, they really
- 1:24:13didn't throw too many tough games on here.
- 1:24:17Wisconsin I think will be good. You got right.
- 1:24:21That's their opener. Then they go Rice, Michigan
- 1:24:23State, Purdue only going to be some bottom feeders in the
- 1:24:27conference. North Carolina, I don't think
- 1:24:30it's going to be too difficult. Stanford, I know there's like a
- 1:24:34a history there. I don't even play in USC.
- 1:24:37They're they're not doing that rivalry game.
- 1:24:40BYU, they're going to Provolo. So that that'll be their biggest
- 1:24:45test of the season. BYU is going to be a very good
- 1:24:48team. Then they play Navy Miami.
- 1:24:52So that's going to be their toughest stretch here.
- 1:24:54The Miami game, that'll be another, that'll be a very tough
- 1:24:58test, but that's going to be at Salt in South Bend.
- 1:25:01So that'll be a little more favorable for them.
- 1:25:03But Miami will be be a challenge.
- 1:25:05You got Boston College, SMU and then Syracuse ended off two.
- 1:25:14I mean, so realistically, if they come away 2 losses, because
- 1:25:19then maybe they lose the BYU, maybe they lose the Miami, I
- 1:25:23think that's all the the grace that we can afford them.
- 1:25:25I mean, they better win the rest of those games.
- 1:25:27I'll ask some news are going to be a pushover that'll that'll be
- 1:25:33somewhat of a challenging game for him.
- 1:25:37But the rest of that schedule doesn't it doesn't really move
- 1:25:40me, you know. So we'll see.
- 1:25:42And then U Conn, I expect to be pretty good as well and make a
- 1:25:48bowl game. I could see U Conn again.
- 1:25:51Sure they lost their coach, they lost a lot of the players, but
- 1:25:55their schedules nothing like they didn't really schedule
- 1:25:58anything too daunting. Air Force could could be
- 1:26:02challenge for them. They go they got to play
- 1:26:04Syracuse. Syracuse would be too crazy.
- 1:26:07James Madison might be the most difficult game on the schedule
- 1:26:10to be honest. Maybe Maryland throw throw them
- 1:26:13in there. That could be a tough one.
- 1:26:15So it's not impossible though for them to win like 7 to 9
- 1:26:19games. All right now let's get into our
- 1:26:21power conferences and we're going to go with the ACC first.
- 1:26:27I've got Miami as who I think is going to be the playoff team out
- 1:26:32of here has a great recruiting Class 1 five star recruit, 15,
- 1:26:40four stars joining the program. Jackson Cantwell five star
- 1:26:46offensive lineman likely going to be playing right away making
- 1:26:50an immediate impact couple of four-star wide receivers that
- 1:26:54will be and me, me on Paris and some more.
- 1:26:59I'm on the butcher that name. We can get some more and we can
- 1:27:01go four-star edge player in the Ashari Charles.
- 1:27:08Yeah, I mean just as a very, very good recruiting class and
- 1:27:14then transfer portal. I mean, they won.
- 1:27:17They got one of the biggest names in the transfer portal.
- 1:27:21Bring it in, Darien Mensa from Duke, one of the most sawed off
- 1:27:24quarterbacks as well. Kiana Davis out of Nebraska,
- 1:27:32he's joining them. They stole Jamal wary weather
- 1:27:35from Georgia jumping over here. And they brought in one of
- 1:27:39Mensa's favorite targets and Cooper Bacarte all over from
- 1:27:45Duke. Yeah, they they had the top
- 1:27:49ranked transfer class and child recruiting class for every team
- 1:27:55in the ACC and they were a top five transfer class in the
- 1:28:02entire country. The recruiting class I believe
- 1:28:06was also top ten. Yeah, top.
- 1:28:08They're the 7th best recruiting class.
- 1:28:10I mean, that just EU is back. They're going to be good.
- 1:28:14I think they'll win the ACC this year.
- 1:28:17This was a tough one for me to put.
- 1:28:19The ACC was very tough to predict.
- 1:28:21Louisville had a really good transfer portal as well.
- 1:28:24They brought in 34 commits. Some of the ones that really
- 1:28:32jumped out at me stole from a in conference rival LA Juan McCoy
- 1:28:39wide receiver there Benjamin Perry, Jacob Smith couple of
- 1:28:47defensive players. God that hasn't really seen the
- 1:28:51feel of these a four-star quarterback prospect and Lincoln
- 1:28:54kind holes didn't want to wait another year as Julian Sam was
- 1:28:59going to be playing again at Ellis or Ohio State rather.
- 1:29:03So coming over here to potentially take the reins at
- 1:29:07Louisville. They I see them being very good
- 1:29:13as well. I think Clemson kind of comes
- 1:29:15back. They're a fringe playoff team if
- 1:29:18they maybe get their hat just because of the history.
- 1:29:21I don't think Dabo Dabo Sweeney teams going to miss a bowl game
- 1:29:25another year in a row. I think if they make the ACC
- 1:29:29championship and there may be a 2 three loss team, they could be
- 1:29:33a fringe playoff team playoff hopeful there.
- 1:29:38I think Louisville would have to win the ACC to get the the
- 1:29:45playoff nod, but I don't I'm not leaving that.
- 1:29:48I don't think that's outside the room possibility.
- 1:29:51I got the Hokies out here at 4. I'm excited to see what they do
- 1:29:55with James Franklin. I think that there's a lot of
- 1:30:00energy in that building. They had a solid recruiting
- 1:30:04class, decent transfer portal. I mean, they got one of the
- 1:30:10better players leaving Duke and Chris, Chris, Shawn Brown, Kenny
- 1:30:17Woesley left Penn State. I mean, they, he brought a
- 1:30:21number of Penn State guns actually transferred over there.
- 1:30:25So they just brought in a ton of Penn State talent.
- 1:30:27Yeah. Michael Troutman, he's following
- 1:30:30this coach. Let's see, we got him, Michael
- 1:30:34or Malachi Williams, Cortez Harris, couple of edge players
- 1:30:40mentioned, Lowesley, Matt Henderson, Danielle Jennings are
- 1:30:44following him over there. Ethan Grunkmeyer could
- 1:30:46potentially. We saw some good things out of
- 1:30:48him after Aller got hurt and he came in so potential excited to
- 1:30:54see what he can do with a full season under his belt.
- 1:30:57But yeah, I mean, he brought a lot of his guys from Penn State
- 1:31:01with him there. So I think the Hokies will be
- 1:31:04pretty good. Maybe we might see them
- 1:31:09competing for for the ACC championship.
- 1:31:12The ACC is going to be chaotic. We're going to see a lot of
- 1:31:15different teams. I expect for the state to be
- 1:31:18pretty good at some. You in the top 25 we had, yeah.
- 1:31:25I don't know. Georgia Tech I think could still
- 1:31:27make it there. Are those the rankings for that
- 1:31:30there? I'm getting a little pressed on
- 1:31:31time. So we're going to keep going.
- 1:31:33BYU is who I got winning the Big 12.
- 1:31:38They're going to be the the playoff team they just had.
- 1:31:44They kept their coach. The Mormon church got involved.
- 1:31:47They said no, we want you staying here.
- 1:31:51The CEO of Crumble Cookie was getting involved.
- 1:31:54So kept kept a lot of the talent too.
- 1:31:59They didn't have too many guys leave wasn't the most insane
- 1:32:06recruiting class. I mean, transfer class.
- 1:32:10They have a pretty good recruiting class.
- 1:32:11I think they have like the second best in the conference.
- 1:32:14Yeah, just behind Texas Tech. So I got them winning it and
- 1:32:20then I've got the the Houston Cougars actually, I think will
- 1:32:23give them a run for their money. I love what they've done this
- 1:32:26season. I I expect them to be very
- 1:32:28competitive in the Big 12. Then Oklahoma State bringing in
- 1:32:36best maker, they brought in one of his top targets and transfer
- 1:32:39portal as well. The new head coach.
- 1:32:42I think we'll see a Cowboy resurgence.
- 1:32:45Texas Tech is still going to be good, but with all the Brendan
- 1:32:48Swordsby drama and now him being banned as well, you know they're
- 1:32:52going to be having to move on to a different quarterback.
- 1:32:55So I think they're going to it'll be tough for them to be in
- 1:32:59contention for the Big 12. Utah I expect to be good again,
- 1:33:04not a lot of hope for my my boss.
- 1:33:07I think both the Arizona teams bowl game hope potential there.
- 1:33:11Iowa, Kansas State, Baylor that says UCT that should be UCF at
- 1:33:17the bottom of the conference there.
- 1:33:19All right then I've got the SEC at #2 in the power rankings
- 1:33:24here. I think Texas is absolutely the
- 1:33:27team to beat in this conference. The hot the the hype I think is
- 1:33:33warranted this year. They arch Manning is the the
- 1:33:38potential number one overall pick, all the talents there for
- 1:33:44this team. They're going to be sick on
- 1:33:46defense again. And I think we saw down the
- 1:33:50stretch of the season they just dropped some dumb games early.
- 1:33:54They didn't play as well, looked not as dominant against some
- 1:33:59inferior competition, but we saw down the stretch, I mean, the
- 1:34:03dual threat ability of Arch Manning, the defense and special
- 1:34:07teams were playing on that next level.
- 1:34:09The offense was really clicking. I think we saw what Texas could
- 1:34:14truly be in there. Look, it looked like a playoff
- 1:34:18championship potential team that just missed out because they
- 1:34:21didn't have they dropped the dumb game against Florida early
- 1:34:25in the year. And quite frankly, I mean, you
- 1:34:27should have beat they should have beat that for the team They
- 1:34:29didn't. But I think they will be what
- 1:34:34they'll be one of the top seeds. They'll be a playoff team for
- 1:34:37sure. I think they'll win the SEC
- 1:34:38championship. I expect Georgia to be pretty
- 1:34:42good, probably make the playoff as well.
- 1:34:44I mean, Kirby Smart just always fills in, finds talent, gets the
- 1:34:49best out of his players. I don't expect anything
- 1:34:52different there. I'm going with LSU as the number
- 1:34:56three team. I think they will make the
- 1:34:58playoffs. They come in 3rd.
- 1:35:01I don't think they're going to quite take down.
- 1:35:04It'll be tough. I don't know if they'll take
- 1:35:06down the takedown, Georgia or Texas.
- 1:35:10But yeah, I like the the Prince will.
- 1:35:14I'm not even going to attempt his last name, but he followed
- 1:35:19his coach. I'm sure you know what I'm
- 1:35:21talking about. Follow his coach over from the
- 1:35:23Alice from old miss to LSU. They they were just they won the
- 1:35:28the top sought after transfer portal prospect, which was Sam
- 1:35:34Levitt. He's going to be playing five
- 1:35:37star QB. He's going to be the QB there
- 1:35:40for Lane Kiffin kind of playoff for bus for this team.
- 1:35:45I mean they really so maybe the pressure will be a little bit
- 1:35:49too much for them. But I mean, you know, there
- 1:35:51there was all that drama with the departure.
- 1:35:54People are impatient death penalty.
- 1:35:56They want to see another playoff team.
- 1:35:58I got Bama fringe playoff team. We'll see.
- 1:36:00I mean, the SEC does kind of get favored when it comes to picking
- 1:36:04playoff teams. And I do think they'll
- 1:36:06definitely make a bowl game. Ole Miss lost some talent, but I
- 1:36:09still expect them to be pretty good.
- 1:36:12Maybe them in Oklahoma you could flip.
- 1:36:14I don't have a lot of high hopes for Texas Tech.
- 1:36:16They really flamed out. They didn't have the toughest
- 1:36:18schedule last year, honestly for and I think their schedule this
- 1:36:22year is a lot tougher, but they should still be up there.
- 1:36:26I might flip them with Missouri. I wouldn't be surprised if
- 1:36:29Missouri flips them. They were a pleasant surprise to
- 1:36:32see in the top 25. And you've got the Tennessee,
- 1:36:34Auburn for the Mississippi State, all teams that could
- 1:36:37potentially make a bowl game there.
- 1:36:39But my top conference is the Big 10.
- 1:36:45Indiana, I think is going to be a playoff team again.
- 1:36:47They brought in Josh Hoover and the transfer portal.
- 1:36:50Kirk Signetti didn't make a ton of big splashes and the transfer
- 1:36:55portal, but that's not really what he does.
- 1:36:57It's just it's the culture and the the energy around that
- 1:37:02place. He just gets the best out of his
- 1:37:04guys. So I trust the system a lot when
- 1:37:07it comes to college football. When you've got a good system,
- 1:37:10you're going to be a good team. I trust the Signetti system.
- 1:37:13It's done nothing but work. So.
- 1:37:16And then I got Oregon actually as the runner UPS in the Big 10.
- 1:37:20I went back and forth on them in Ohio State.
- 1:37:24I wouldn't be all at all surprised if that flips.
- 1:37:26Both teams are bringing back their quarterback from last
- 1:37:29year. Jeremiah Love, still the best
- 1:37:31receiver in college football, will be playing for drafts.
- 1:37:35Draft stock Dante Moore, though, I wouldn't be surprised at all
- 1:37:38if he plays himself into potential first overall pick
- 1:37:42territory. It's going to be between him and
- 1:37:43Arch Manning. Those guys are going to be 1 and
- 1:37:462 next year, do a quarterback needy team and I could see
- 1:37:51Oregon having the top offense in the country.
- 1:37:54That wouldn't surprise me at all.
- 1:37:56I think with another year on the Roosevelt, Dante Moore already
- 1:38:00one of the better pocket processors out there, can see
- 1:38:03them coming up UFC. Then I got UCS man.
- 1:38:06They had a phenomenal recruiting class and transfer portal.
- 1:38:15USC actually the number one recruiting class in the nation
- 1:38:21and they were a bit further down in terms of transfer portal.
- 1:38:26But they just brought in so much talent.
- 1:38:29I think they'll be, they'll be a dangerous team and all.
- 1:38:33I've got Penn State just behind them again.
- 1:38:37Wouldn't be totally shocked if those flip flop in the
- 1:38:41standings, but I'm pretty confident that's how the big,
- 1:38:44the Big 10s going to go. I think the Big 10 will be good
- 1:38:47enough to have four playoff teams, but they might, like I
- 1:38:50said, they might favor the FCC and give them four more, which
- 1:38:54is just an unfortunate thing. Michigan first year with Kyle
- 1:38:58Whittington, they're excited to see what they got.
- 1:39:01I think Wisconsin's going to be a lot better.
- 1:39:04Washington should be a really good team.
- 1:39:07They might jump Iowa. I just like I was, I was going
- 1:39:11to be very good defensively. A lot of talent in here.
- 1:39:14Northwestern's got some high expectations.
- 1:39:17I think right now, though, the Big 10s got 5, maybe 6 teams at
- 1:39:22all could take take it to the playoffs.
- 1:39:25It's going to be the it's the top conference.
- 1:39:27They dominated in the bowl games.
- 1:39:29They dominated in the playoffs last year.
- 1:39:32So that's why they're my #1 conference.
- 1:39:37All right, we got about 20 minutes here.
- 1:39:41We're going to see if we can speed run a mock draft here,
- 1:39:45guys. So we're going to go, this is
- 1:39:47going to go a little bit quicker.
- 1:39:48We're going to do what we're going to do.
- 1:39:51I think we're going the the number one pick approach.
- 1:39:55And I'm going to show you how you do the, the, the 2 running
- 1:40:01back strategy. It works best if you can get one
- 1:40:04of the elite running back. Talents running back talents in
- 1:40:10the in the said mock. So we'll go to standard PPR and
- 1:40:17everything just to keep it simple but not get too
- 1:40:22complicated in this going to start the draft screen share
- 1:40:28this here, put it up on here. So we're going, all right, the
- 1:40:37strategy here when you're drafting in the top and the the
- 1:40:43top rounds, if you can get one of the elite running by talents,
- 1:40:46I'm talking Jamir, Gibbs, Bijan, let's see who else it is.
- 1:40:54We've got Jonathan Taylor, James Cook, Christian McCaffrey, one
- 1:41:00of those guys, Saquon, worse, like maybe Saquon, Derrick
- 1:41:04Henry. That's who you're taking in the
- 1:41:06first round. You go back-to-back on running
- 1:41:10back talent and then you take high upside wide receivers
- 1:41:14because there's a significant drop off on running back talent,
- 1:41:19whereas receivers got more depth and something you can take more.
- 1:41:23So you're looking for first we're going to go Jamir Gibbs.
- 1:41:27Let's go one-on-one. That's what who we're going to
- 1:41:29take here. Let's see, why is it not?
- 1:41:39Why is it not? There we go.
- 1:41:41Wow, that was laggy. OK, now we're going to skip to
- 1:41:45where we're at. We're going to look at who's
- 1:41:47available again at running back. OK, we've got Josh Jacobs is
- 1:41:53dealing with some legal stuff, so I'm not super jazzed on him.
- 1:41:58I'm actually, I might take him. I don't know how healthy he's
- 1:42:03going to be. Javante, not a lot of
- 1:42:06competition there. So I'm actually going to go with
- 1:42:08Javante because he's just doesn't have a lot of
- 1:42:10competition. It's going to get those goal
- 1:42:11line touches. So there you go.
- 1:42:13You've got two really good running backs now.
- 1:42:15Now we're going to go and look at wide receiver upside.
- 1:42:20So it's a little laggy here where it's taking its time.
- 1:42:27Let's go advance us to the next pick Let's advance us to the
- 1:42:34next pick. Come on site.
- 1:42:35What's what's the hold up here? All right, I apologize.
- 1:42:43This is I'm not sure how do I force this to go forward?
- 1:42:49Hello. Hello.
- 1:42:50What do? You.
- 1:42:52Mean Brown. Oh, that's right.
- 1:42:53I'm back-to-back. I'm actually just.
- 1:42:55I'm losing my mind. Sorry about that everybody.
- 1:42:59Boy, it's my it's technically my Monday.
- 1:43:03I go I go to work this. So we're it's a little risky to
- 1:43:08take a guy with the same bye week, but I really don't let bye
- 1:43:11weeks cause fear in you. We'll go ahead and take George
- 1:43:14Pickens. I mean we we saw the production
- 1:43:17last year. You just can't argue with that.
- 1:43:21All right now we're looking at some wide receiver talent as we
- 1:43:25get our back to backs here. Devante is risky to me.
- 1:43:33He really lived off of touchdowns, didn't have a ton of
- 1:43:37yards, so I don't, but that's not necessarily something that I
- 1:43:40feel like in transition. I love Watson's just a ton of
- 1:43:44upside. I know he's a bit of an in.
- 1:43:46He has a bit of an injury problem.
- 1:43:48However he is. I mean, he's the guy like he's
- 1:43:54really all they got. He's going to be one of the
- 1:43:57primary targets there. Romeo Dobbs is gone.
- 1:44:01Jaden Reed is going to be probably more into the slot.
- 1:44:06Dontavian Wicks is out of there. Matthew Golden isn't going to
- 1:44:11hasn't shown a whole lot. So Watson's going to get a ton
- 1:44:14of targets. There's just a lot of targets
- 1:44:17have left the team and that that they're all those are his to
- 1:44:20take. So we're going to go ahead and
- 1:44:21take Watson here. Now we're going to go and look
- 1:44:25at quarterbacks that a proven commodity quarterback that is
- 1:44:31going to score us a lot of points.
- 1:44:34I like a guy that's got rushing upside.
- 1:44:36I'm going to take Drake, man here.
- 1:44:38He's got new weapons, he's got Dobbs, he's got A.J.
- 1:44:40Brown. He has rushing upside.
- 1:44:42The schedule's a little tougher, but they made some improvements
- 1:44:45on the line. The team's good.
- 1:44:49He's a guy that could easily go for 4000 yards.
- 1:44:52Bam, there we are. Now as we come in here into the
- 1:44:54sixth round, we can go and look for a flex and here's where I'm
- 1:44:59going to go and take my third running back.
- 1:45:01And I look, look, I love Basil Tooting man.
- 1:45:06He's probably going to be splitting carries with Chris
- 1:45:08Rodriguez to start the year. But the Rodriguez is not super
- 1:45:14explosive, doesn't have a ton of pass catching upside.
- 1:45:18We saw Tooting be a great pass catcher.
- 1:45:22He was just behind ETH Travis HN for a lot of the year now.
- 1:45:29I mean he's gone lean Cohen made Travis ET and Bucky Irfan like
- 1:45:33top fantasy players in back-to-back seasons.
- 1:45:38So they there we go. We're going to grab him, get our
- 1:45:41flex Now we can potentially take a tight end here.
- 1:45:47Couple of solid options. Let's also see what we got at
- 1:45:50wide receiver here. Let me just to fill out depth we
- 1:45:54do need. Here we go.
- 1:46:01I'm going to go with Sam Laporta.
- 1:46:03I like Sam Laporta. They're a little bit more than
- 1:46:05what we've got. The wide receiver options.
- 1:46:06I think there's still some guys that we can get late on.
- 1:46:10So now here's where we're going. We're going to start filling in
- 1:46:12depth at the wide receiver position.
- 1:46:17Chris Godwin, I don't hate health concerns, but if he can
- 1:46:20stay on the field, he's very good.
- 1:46:24However, I am going to lean towards Alec Pierce.
- 1:46:27He's the number one guy here. I mean, he's going to be the
- 1:46:29deep ball threat. He's a big body that they they
- 1:46:32can throw to you in the red zone.
- 1:46:33They did bring in Keenan Allen, but they gave him all that
- 1:46:37money. Pierce is going to be heavily
- 1:46:38involved in this offense, so I'm going to go ahead and take him.
- 1:46:43Now we're going to look at the what else we got here.
- 1:46:46We could potentially go another wide receiver.
- 1:46:49We could take Godwin. I do like just going and getting
- 1:46:55one more running back because as you can see, it starts to drop
- 1:47:00off here. I don't like any of these.
- 1:47:06I don't like these guys a ton. Let's see who else is available
- 1:47:12on this side. Yeah, we already got 2 and we
- 1:47:15don't need Rodriguez. We, I expect to see him.
- 1:47:19So they'll lose out on carries. You don't necessarily need to
- 1:47:24draft players that have to play right away.
- 1:47:30I'm looking at right here, maybe a draft and stash because we've
- 1:47:34got, again, we have three like really prolific fantasy running
- 1:47:39backs that we're probably not going to be switching them out
- 1:47:43on the early part of the season. Jonah Coleman, JK Dobbins has an
- 1:47:49injury history. RJ Harvey doesn't provide a lot
- 1:47:54of value running in between the tackles.
- 1:47:56It's kind of been a struggle for him.
- 1:47:57Draft and stash type of guy. Expect Jonah Coleman to be
- 1:48:01worked into the Broncos offense and the heavier and heavier
- 1:48:06rate. All right now again, we're
- 1:48:13looking to just probably add some depth here.
- 1:48:17Defense. What round are we in?
- 1:48:20It's round 10. It's a little too early to take
- 1:48:23a defense for my liking. Probably not going to jump on a
- 1:48:30backup quarterback. Just yeah, I've got some good
- 1:48:33options, but I think we can wait on here.
- 1:48:37We'll get some wide receiver options.
- 1:48:39I'll do. I know he's on the bad offense,
- 1:48:42but I love KC Conception and getting him in the tenth round
- 1:48:45here. There's no like he's going to
- 1:48:48get, but he's going to be the number one guy.
- 1:48:49He's going to get so many targets.
- 1:48:51Like the quarterback situation is terrible, but it's for a
- 1:48:54tenth round price tag and the amount of volume that he's going
- 1:48:57to see. I got to take him.
- 1:49:00I have to now we're looking at some more running backs here.
- 1:49:05You can see Rodriguez, Tracy still up here because I don't
- 1:49:08see them getting a ton of touches here.
- 1:49:14Another guy, he's injured, he's going to miss some time, but
- 1:49:19he's a proven commodity. He's going to be involved in the
- 1:49:21offense. He's a great pass catcher.
- 1:49:25Could go Alvin, come on right here.
- 1:49:31Looking at some other wide receiver options.
- 1:49:34Wouldn't hate taking Golding. I'm a little, I'm excited about
- 1:49:39Stribling, but I don't want to bank too much money on wide
- 1:49:44receivers. We're going to go ahead and
- 1:49:46we're going to stash Kamira as well.
- 1:49:49So we're going to take with this team at this spot.
- 1:49:55All right, we're in the round 12 now.
- 1:50:00I think if you want, we could go for the streaming of defense
- 1:50:03strategy, which is something I might take, or if you want the
- 1:50:07defense that you can rely on for most of the season.
- 1:50:10We got a couple of good options here.
- 1:50:11We got the Broncos, we got the Seahawks.
- 1:50:13Eagles wouldn't be terrible. We'll go ahead and we'll get the
- 1:50:16Broncos. Then.
- 1:50:18I'm the type of guy I like to have a good backup quarterback.
- 1:50:23Kyler Murray, potential league winner here, best situation of
- 1:50:30his career. Kevin O'Connell gets tons of
- 1:50:33value out of them. I mean, this is a steal to get
- 1:50:35in here. I think Kyler Murray could be
- 1:50:36rushing upside as well. We'll take Kyler Murray there.
- 1:50:44I believe we've got this is our our final 2 picks here.
- 1:50:49So we got available at the wide receiver position.
- 1:50:54Jerry, Judy not probably not going to take that guy.
- 1:50:57I'm not going to lie, Trey Tucker, not a ton of competition
- 1:51:05in that wide receiver room or in the Raiders wide receiver room
- 1:51:10here. I'm going to I'm going to go
- 1:51:15with him because again, I'm like in these late round picks.
- 1:51:17I'm just trying to think of a guy who is in a a situation
- 1:51:21where he doesn't have a ton of competition or is just in a
- 1:51:23really good offense. Tucker, not a ton of I mean,
- 1:51:27like they did, there's Brock Bowers.
- 1:51:30There isn't a whole lot else on the outside in terms of besides
- 1:51:35like a a Jack Bash and other young guys there all right, And
- 1:51:39then kicker got to get one. I mean, Cam Little's just got an
- 1:51:43absolute nuke of a leg. So that's a good one to take
- 1:51:47there. All right, so that kind of
- 1:51:50rounds off our our quick fantasy draft.
- 1:51:53That's the, the 2 running back strategy you're looking for
- 1:51:57upside out of your receivers, proven commodities for your and
- 1:52:03then proven commodities for your, your running backs.
- 1:52:08Gibbs we know is going to be sick.
- 1:52:10I, I mean, if you want to go Bijon, you can go Bijon.
- 1:52:13Don't have any problem with that.
- 1:52:14Javante not a lot of the competition that Dallas
- 1:52:18backfield who's going to get the goal line touches.
- 1:52:20I mean, like, that was where he he put up a good amount of
- 1:52:24yards, but he was like just you got inside the five.
- 1:52:28They fed Javante Williams. I don't see any reason why that
- 1:52:32doesn't continue. We know Pickens, he feasted last
- 1:52:38year. It should be more of the same.
- 1:52:39That Dallas offense is going to be great.
- 1:52:43Yeah. Watson's going to get tons of
- 1:52:45targets. Pierce is going to get tons of
- 1:52:47target. Sam Lafortha isn't one of the
- 1:52:49best offenses in football. This is one of the best defenses
- 1:52:52in football. Cam, little bit one, biggest
- 1:52:54legs. Super accurate with a team
- 1:52:59that's got a good offense, so they will at the very least be
- 1:53:02kicking a lot of extra points. Being in field goal range more
- 1:53:05often now, Tooting the pass catching upside for him is huge.
- 1:53:10John the Coleman, bit of a draft and stash player.
- 1:53:13Again, the volume with conception.
- 1:53:15Just something we want to take there.
- 1:53:17Kyler Murray's in a fantastic situation, so when Drake doesn't
- 1:53:22have a favorable matchup plan against a tougher defense, we
- 1:53:25can slide Kyler in. Trey Tucker doesn't have a ton
- 1:53:28of competition for targets. Kamara bit of a crowded
- 1:53:32backfield, but he's a proven commodity, so we don't mind
- 1:53:35that. Then you can see this is how the
- 1:53:39drafts will be kind of similar to going.
- 1:53:42I don't know if JSN will drop it back that far.
- 1:53:46I think you see, you're going to see Bijan Jamir should go off
- 1:53:49the board 1st and then in the round one I would be, it would
- 1:53:54probably should go some combination of Jamar Puka and
- 1:53:58Jameer Gibbs. Then Christian McCaffrey, maybe
- 1:54:02Taylor or Almond, Ross, St. Brown.
- 1:54:04That should be James Cook. I don't love Genti.
- 1:54:10I don't love in the first round. Then it should probably be like
- 1:54:16CD Henry. I mean, Genti will probably go
- 1:54:19in the first round still, but I'm not, I am not a huge fan of
- 1:54:24that, if we're being honest. All right, well, we got, we got
- 1:54:32a little bit of time. So you know what?
- 1:54:34We'll try like 2 really quick runs on ADT.
- 1:54:37One now or or we can ask questions.
- 1:54:42Yeah, we can't ask questions. What?
- 1:54:44What questions did you want to? Ask OK, the Broncos first home
- 1:54:51game. What do you think?
- 1:54:54Is it a win or is it a loss? Who was the first home game?
- 1:55:02Because there was a now there was a report on Fox 31 that made
- 1:55:09it sound like basically that Bo was a toothpick.
- 1:55:14And then everybody on like the comments, they're like, oh, we
- 1:55:18was there that, you know, the news is making a big deal out of
- 1:55:21anything. Do you think the ankle injury is
- 1:55:25going to bite us in the asses this year?
- 1:55:31No, I don't. OK.
- 1:55:32I think we. Should because he had, he had
- 1:55:35three surgeries. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:55:38But like some of those were just cleanups and they were they were
- 1:55:43checking on it. I think like Denver, we're
- 1:55:46especially this point, the Nuggets and ABS aren't playing
- 1:55:51and we're just kind of waiting for the Broncos to start playing
- 1:55:53because the Rockies are hot ass. So when they tell when you come
- 1:55:57to Denver sports tie, it's all just about building up hype and
- 1:56:01drama for the Broncos. OK, I don't think I'm not too
- 1:56:06concerned about the ankle. I think it'll be OK.
- 1:56:10OK. What other question do you have?
- 1:56:13The other question is right now in the preseason, what are you
- 1:56:21seeing that catches your eye? Like like, like off guard
- 1:56:30catches my eye. That catches your eye like
- 1:56:34you're watching the games and stuff and you're like, oh shit,
- 1:56:38kind of like taste Keenum. You're like, holy crap, who's
- 1:56:41this guy? Well, I know.
- 1:56:43OK, Scheme. Why?
- 1:56:44I know, but. Well, I also does John
- 1:56:48Stribbling. He really surprised me.
- 1:56:50That was probably my biggest surprise.
- 1:56:55I Kyle Shanahan's been known for kind of reaching on players and
- 1:57:01I, I'm not, yeah, not Kyle Shannon, but John Lynch also has
- 1:57:05been known for sort of reaching on players.
- 1:57:08And this is what I thought he was going to be another reach,
- 1:57:12but he's looked really good. I mean, he's been good in camp
- 1:57:16and I think he'll really have a big role on this this team
- 1:57:23because you don't you've got an aging Mike Evans and Debo
- 1:57:26Samuel, Ricky Pierce all just can't stay healthy.
- 1:57:29So there's a lot of opportunity for him to to get in there.
- 1:57:37OK. Other things that caught my eye,
- 1:57:44I'm going to have to grab his his name real quick, but there
- 1:57:47is a guy on the Bears who's been just struggling to make the team
- 1:57:54and I get some playing time, but he's really, he really showed
- 1:57:57out in the postseason. Jameer Chroma had two sacks, 3
- 1:58:04TF LS, 6 total tackles. Recover the fumble as well.
- 1:58:11I believe he only didn't get a credit for it, but he also
- 1:58:13forced the fumble and recovered it.
- 1:58:17So guy that could work his way into the the Chicago pass rush
- 1:58:23rotation. OK, like I mentioned it earlier,
- 1:58:30but yeah, Ty Simpson, I was impressed with how well he
- 1:58:35played. I guess somebody else I didn't
- 1:58:39give a shout out to was that Demon Claiborne.
- 1:58:41The other rookie running back I thought was didn't get a lot of
- 1:58:46good blocking, but I think he's got a potential to like if the
- 1:58:50Vikings had more of their starters out there, I think he
- 1:58:53would have looked better because when they had Aaron Jones and
- 1:58:55Jordan Mason out there and more of a starting offensive unit,
- 1:58:59there were big holes opening up at the second unit.
- 1:59:01Just didn't look great for for Claiborne.
- 1:59:04Well, before we leave, ladies and gentlemen, we want to we
- 1:59:07want to shout out some people that have given us gifts.
- 1:59:11We got Mary Ann, we've got Cassidy, we've got Penelope,
