- 0:42Speaker 4: What's up, buddy, what's going on?
- 0:44Speaker 5: Man? Yeah?
- 0:49Speaker 4: I saw some Superman. I hope we get a few
- 0:54Speaker 4: minutes to talk about it.
- 0:55Speaker 5: We will definitely make the time because I want to talk. Okay,
- 0:58Speaker 5: all right, Yeah, I'm pretty excited about that movie.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I've been pretty much social media dark for the last
- 1:05Speaker 2: three or four days. Oh wow, Okay, not so much dark,
- 1:09Speaker 2: but like I would see a post that was obviously
- 1:12Speaker 2: about it and just quickly scroll past it.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Don't even don't read the comments.
- 1:16Speaker 2: You know, you got a preview, You could, like see
- 1:18Speaker 2: one of the most popular comments on something without even
- 1:21Speaker 2: clicking on it.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so just scroll right past it, scroll right past it.
- 1:25Speaker 5: I was.
- 1:26Speaker 6: I was pretty happy that I got to see it early. Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 6: and because literally when I got to my car after
- 1:32Speaker 6: it was over, I.
- 1:34Speaker 5: Was flooded with with spoilers my timeline.
- 1:38Speaker 4: So I uh I was successful in avoiding them.
- 1:44Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:45Speaker 2: I went in there completely Uh completely, I guess we're
- 1:49Speaker 2: talking about it. Uh, I went in there completely blind.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:53Speaker 4: We had we had one. We had one hiccup.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Somebody, somebody brought their toddler to the to the theater. Yes,
- 2:05Speaker 2: and we were about a minute into the movie and
- 2:08Speaker 2: this kid was full on screaming and they and they
- 2:13Speaker 2: were doing nothing. So I've always I've always been like
- 2:18Speaker 2: a take charge kind of guy, right, So I got up.
- 2:23Speaker 4: I figured this scene.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I realized this scene.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I've seen the next two minutes of this movie already,
- 2:29Speaker 2: because said, you know that whole first scene in the Arctic.
- 2:33Speaker 4: They you know, they released that.
- 2:36Speaker 2: So I walked over behind them. Yeah, and I said, uh,
- 2:43Speaker 2: I said, listen, I'm not going to hear that for
- 2:46Speaker 2: the next two hours, so figure it out. I walked
- 2:50Speaker 2: back in my seat, like people are clapping, and uh,
- 2:53Speaker 2: they left.
- 2:53Speaker 4: They got up and left, so good on them.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Good good. I just got a note from a few minutes.
- 3:02Speaker 4: Okay, great, great.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Well then let's let's wait to talk about more Abuts
- 3:07Speaker 5: ran a little bit.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Well sure, sure, but.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Since we're waiting for him, why don't we get into
- 3:13Speaker 6: Star Trek news, because there's quite a bit Star Trek news.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Let's do some of that. I like Star Trek, I
- 3:19Speaker 3: like news.
- 3:19Speaker 5: All right, perfect Star Trek news. All right.
- 3:25Speaker 6: So our first news story comes to us from Variety. Man,
- 3:30Speaker 6: they completely changed up this lay up, so I kind.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Of war with my buttons to do things.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 6: So this comes to us from Variety, and we're getting
- 3:41Speaker 6: the schedule for Comic Con twenty twenty.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Five in San Diego.
- 3:45Speaker 6: That will be happening from July twenty fourth through twenty seven,
- 3:49Speaker 6: and there will be a Star Trek panel.
- 3:52Speaker 5: So that's exciting. Yeah, so let me get down to it.
- 3:56Speaker 5: It will be happening. I think it's on Friday.
- 4:02Speaker 2: From the pictures, it looks like George Lucas will be
- 4:05Speaker 2: part of the Star Trek pwel.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's this story is basically covering every possible I know,
- 4:13Speaker 5: all the main ones. But let's see is it I
- 4:19Speaker 5: found it earlier? There is Saturday, okay.
- 4:24Speaker 6: So the Star Trek panel is Saturday from twelve thirty
- 4:28Speaker 6: to two, so fairly long channel.
- 4:31Speaker 5: And it runs, Yeah, it runs. It's called the Star
- 4:38Speaker 5: Trek Universe.
- 4:39Speaker 6: Let's see, we will be having strangers in the World's
- 4:43Speaker 6: cast members up here there as well, so Rebecca our Main,
- 4:47Speaker 6: Ethan Peck, Jeff's Bush, Christina Chung, and Paul Westley will
- 4:51Speaker 6: all be there, along with ship runners Akeima Goldsman and
- 4:55Speaker 6: ray Alonso Miners and Alex Kurtzman. They will be talking
- 4:59Speaker 6: about just overall the whole Star Treking, where they're at
- 5:03Speaker 6: with things. They're also going to talk about Starfleet Academy
- 5:07Speaker 6: and some of the cast members will be appearing from
- 5:09Speaker 6: that as well. So hour and a half, they've got
- 5:12Speaker 6: enough time to kind of do it all, okay, which
- 5:19Speaker 6: kind of sad to me is much like going to
- 5:22Speaker 6: a rock concert festival.
- 5:26Speaker 5: The earlier you are on the day, the less important
- 5:29Speaker 5: you are, you know, okay, And and so the fact
- 5:36Speaker 5: that Star Trek's on at like noon, full thirty two,
- 5:40Speaker 5: that's how the mighty have fallen unfortunately. Yeah, you have
- 5:47Speaker 5: to remember this is a convention that will not be
- 5:50Speaker 5: having DC or Marble at it too.
- 5:53Speaker 3: It will not No, what's that.
- 5:56Speaker 5: Yeah, they're not doing presentations like that, not movie presentations,
- 6:00Speaker 5: so Marvel or DC are not so huh kin kind
- 6:04Speaker 5: of a bummer, but yeah, So so that's what's going on.
- 6:09Speaker 6: So if you're going to San Diego. That's would be
- 6:12Speaker 6: there Saturday in until thirty two. They will also be
- 6:16Speaker 6: having what they're calling the Paramount Lodge. It's like this
- 6:19Speaker 6: big building that Paramount is setting up that's got within
- 6:25Speaker 6: the building, different sections are for different franchises and there's
- 6:29Speaker 6: gonna be a Star Trek team like a like a
- 6:31Speaker 6: little bar back there.
- 6:33Speaker 5: So okay, yeah, they're trying at least all right. Our
- 6:42Speaker 5: next story comes to us from the rap and uh,
- 6:46Speaker 5: you know this is kind of has something to do
- 6:48Speaker 5: with it, at least a little bit. So yeah, that's
- 6:56Speaker 5: what them Mount exactly.
- 6:59Speaker 6: Yeah, we're getting some or fallout from the alleged Paramount deal.
- 7:03Speaker 6: And this is from the wrap And because of disputes
- 7:07Speaker 6: going on right now, South Park has been pulled from
- 7:10Speaker 6: Paramount Plus outside the US. And then I just checked
- 7:14Speaker 6: this morning because I wanted to see where we're at
- 7:17Speaker 6: with things, and South Park has been pulled from Paramount
- 7:21Speaker 6: Plus in the US as well. The only thing that's
- 7:23Speaker 6: on there are these specials that they've had them do. Now,
- 7:27Speaker 6: why does this matter? What's going on?
- 7:29Speaker 5: So apparently there is a bit of a dispute with
- 7:33Speaker 5: the owners of South Park Matt Parker, Trace Down and Paramount.
- 7:39Speaker 5: Those two guys, very wisely, before streaming kicked off, decided
- 7:44Speaker 5: to keep their a portion of their streaming rights. So
- 7:48Speaker 5: they own half the rights for streaming, and Paramount owns
- 7:51Speaker 5: half the rights for streaming. So Paramount cannot stream unless
- 7:54Speaker 5: they get the sign off from those guys.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and they can also only sell their half when
- 8:00Speaker 2: they sell the company, right right.
- 8:04Speaker 7: So.
- 8:07Speaker 6: The thing I read said basically there is a potential
- 8:11Speaker 6: deal with Max HBO Max to stream South Park and
- 8:16Speaker 6: it was going to be like a two and fifty
- 8:18Speaker 6: million dollar deal to continue streaming, yeah, South Park. And
- 8:24Speaker 6: so Trey Burger, Matt's owner, like, hey man, we want
- 8:27Speaker 6: to keep this going, Let's do it. And the new
- 8:32Speaker 6: owners of Paramount are like, no, no, no, if it's
- 8:34Speaker 6: that important, we want to keep it on our service,
- 8:37Speaker 6: so then and keep it exclusive.
- 8:40Speaker 5: And so that's the fight.
- 8:41Speaker 4: So yeah, So what you're saying is it's a disagreement
- 8:49Speaker 4: over money, indeed, But.
- 8:53Speaker 3: How could that be indeed? Yeah?
- 8:55Speaker 6: Right right, yeah, So it's it's going to be a
- 9:00Speaker 6: have a problem. And if this is just one thing
- 9:04Speaker 6: already happening, more dominoes are gonna are gonna be falling
- 9:08Speaker 6: soon because who does not have a direction?
- 9:11Speaker 3: Do people still watch South Park?
- 9:12Speaker 2: I mean, I honestly haven't watched that show in in
- 9:15Speaker 2: probably twenty five years, but they're still making episodes.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Yeah, surprisingly, it is very popular, like the Simpsons.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The Simpsons is still on. I haven't watched Simpsons in
- 9:26Speaker 3: thirty years.
- 9:27Speaker 5: I know, same it is. On top of that, note
- 9:31Speaker 5: only is a popular, it's popular in the younger demographics. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:37Speaker 5: like surprisingly.
- 9:38Speaker 2: I mean, I know it's incredibly cheap to make that too,
- 9:43Speaker 2: and they've been they've been doing it so long. I
- 9:46Speaker 2: mean they probably just they with AI and everything. They're
- 9:50Speaker 2: probably just like feeding the script into the computer and
- 9:53Speaker 2: they're churning out, churning out episodes.
- 9:56Speaker 5: Oh look, who's here?
- 9:58Speaker 4: Who's that.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Strong beard out?
- 10:02Speaker 3: Strong beard?
- 10:03Speaker 4: As right?
- 10:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right, are we brothers? Yeah we must go?
- 10:10Speaker 3: Oh yeah, absolutely sorry, I'm late, folks, fashionably late.
- 10:19Speaker 4: Sorry.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Yeah right, well, let me get let me get to
- 10:25Speaker 5: the last news story and then we'll we'll catch up. Okay,
- 10:29Speaker 5: So our last news story comes to us from the
- 10:32Speaker 5: Popped Universe. I don't know if you guys are into this.
- 10:35Speaker 6: I know I am, but allegedly, Magic the Gathering is
- 10:39Speaker 6: a lot is about to get more Star Trek. So
- 10:43Speaker 6: there has been a leak allegedly that not this year,
- 10:47Speaker 6: but next year there will be some Star Trek cards
- 10:51Speaker 6: coming to Magic the Gathering.
- 10:53Speaker 5: This has been a continuing thing. Would start with Magic.
- 10:56Speaker 6: If you guys play, they have this series called Universes
- 11:00Speaker 6: Beyond where they bring other franchises into Magic, so you
- 11:04Speaker 6: can literally play with SpongeBob versus Sonic the Hedgehog, or
- 11:09Speaker 6: Optimist Prime or just recently the added Final Fantasy.
- 11:14Speaker 5: It's just gonna be bonkers.
- 11:16Speaker 3: So I'm waiting.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I'm waiting for the All in the Family expansion pack
- 11:21Speaker 2: because my my Edith Bunker is gonna.
- 11:24Speaker 4: Kick the crap out of your Optimist Prime. Right.
- 11:27Speaker 5: This isn't gonna make sense unless you play, but everybody,
- 11:30Speaker 5: they generally come out with four Commander decks pre cons,
- 11:34Speaker 5: and I really want a Golden Girls series, so that way,
- 11:37Speaker 5: each golder girl gets her own deck.
- 11:40Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, thank you for being a friend.
- 11:47Speaker 5: Yeah, So we don't we don't know much about it.
- 11:50Speaker 5: This kind of fits because for those of you who
- 11:52Speaker 5: played recently, they did a new rule where they're adding
- 11:55Speaker 5: in spaceships, and nobody knew what the hell that meant,
- 11:59Speaker 5: and all of a sudden this leaks. So there you go.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Interesting, Dan, have you played Magic? No? Okay, so I
- 12:11Speaker 3: think we have the gambit of experience here, Daniel. It
- 12:14Speaker 3: sounds like you you do play.
- 12:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I have a couple of complete decks. I did
- 12:24Speaker 3: not put them together myself. I've played probably three complete games.
- 12:31Speaker 3: So I enjoyed it. It's it's it's kind of like chess.
- 12:34Speaker 3: It's it's it's not that complicated to learn. It takes
- 12:37Speaker 3: a little bit to kind of really figure it out.
- 12:40Speaker 3: But yeah, yeah, I I enjoy it. Uh, it's it's
- 12:44Speaker 3: not it wasn't my favorite thing, but it takes me
- 12:46Speaker 3: a long time to learn card games period. You know.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I I like simple games like uh we just we
- 12:55Speaker 3: recently just bought from from timu or or or the
- 12:58Speaker 3: TikTok shop. It's uh it's play on uh go fish only,
- 13:02Speaker 3: it's go f yourself. So yeah, we we played that
- 13:07Speaker 3: last weekend, and that was it was surprisingly immaturely fun.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, you.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Know, and and the cat. It wasn't like you know,
- 13:20Speaker 3: aces and and and two's and fives. It was things
- 13:22Speaker 3: like you know, do you have a grandmother who you
- 13:25Speaker 3: wish was dead? No? Yeah, and and things just as
- 13:30Speaker 3: inappropriate as that.
- 13:31Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 2: So I have never played I have never played magic. However,
- 13:42Speaker 2: I like buying stuff that's like a prop replica, like
- 13:49Speaker 2: it's like the one it's just like the one on
- 13:52Speaker 2: the show, or it's just like the.
- 13:53Speaker 3: One yeah uh in the in the movie.
- 13:58Speaker 2: If they were to figure out the rules to Tongo
- 14:03Speaker 2: and come out and come out with a Tongo deck.
- 14:07Speaker 2: But do you remember do you remember, like twenty years
- 14:09Speaker 2: ago when you know, everybody got a set of poker
- 14:13Speaker 2: chips for Christmas?
- 14:14Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So if they were to come out with
- 14:18Speaker 2: a set like that, except it's Tongo and the chips
- 14:22Speaker 2: are latinum rectangles, I would buy that in this I
- 14:28Speaker 2: would buy that in a second.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Whether I'd whether I'd play it.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Or not, I don't. I don't know.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I might try to, Like I have to find two
- 14:35Speaker 2: or three other nerds to play it with me, but
- 14:38Speaker 2: something like that, I would snatch that Upeah Star Trek
- 14:42Speaker 2: plus Magic Star Trek's not going to drum me into
- 14:46Speaker 2: Magic to gathering. Yeah, for people that are already playing it,
- 14:50Speaker 2: maybe they'll get excited about it. People who are already
- 14:53Speaker 2: playing it, who also like Star Trek, you know, great,
- 14:56Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Like novelty forms of Star Trek stuff.
- 14:59Speaker 4: You know.
- 15:00Speaker 3: It's like that line from Big Bang Theory when Sheldon says,
- 15:02Speaker 3: I don't like novelty forms of uh Monopoly. I prefer
- 15:05Speaker 3: you know, original and klingon. I just I just like, yeah,
- 15:10Speaker 3: I'm the same way. Proper replica stuff. Would love it,
- 15:14Speaker 3: but if it's if it's Star Trek adjacent, it doesn't
- 15:17Speaker 3: interest me that much.
- 15:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Like, I have a friend who years ago he found
- 15:23Speaker 2: a plate, a piece of uh slab glass that was green,
- 15:27Speaker 2: had a green tinge to it, and he built he
- 15:30Speaker 2: built a wooden box and painted it to look like
- 15:34Speaker 2: like a lead box and put it in there with
- 15:37Speaker 2: a lock and gave it to me as if it
- 15:39Speaker 2: was kryptonite.
- 15:40Speaker 3: The lead box. That. Yes, I love that thing. That
- 15:45Speaker 3: kind of stuff I love, Yes, yes.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Exactly exactly. I love stuff like that. You know, I
- 15:51Speaker 2: have Captain America shields, I have if a Mandalorian helmet, Uh,
- 15:57Speaker 2: I've a out Last you know, stuff like that. I've
- 16:02Speaker 2: got a real sword that's modeled after he man's sword.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I love stuff. I love stuff. Yeah, I love.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I want to get the sort of omens.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Yeah in site.
- 16:18Speaker 2: So so if they're listening, if they're listening, Tongo with
- 16:23Speaker 2: chips with Latinum chips, I.
- 16:26Speaker 3: Want it maybe or Scott would be cool.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, wheel. You need a lot of room for a
- 16:35Speaker 4: double wheel. That's why I do.
- 16:41Speaker 5: Hey Scott, do you wanna Do you want me to
- 16:42Speaker 5: show off the picture you put in the group chat?
- 16:44Speaker 3: Yes? Please?
- 16:45Speaker 5: Okay, you can kind of tell everyone been up to? Uh?
- 16:49Speaker 4: Is he wearing a shirt?
- 16:51Speaker 5: I know?
- 16:52Speaker 3: God, I hope. So so here's here's me and my wife.
- 16:57Speaker 3: Cosplay is lower Croft, uh and n B between us,
- 17:00Speaker 3: some some Asian dude, random Garrett Wang who played in
- 17:04Speaker 3: Some and Kim.
- 17:05Speaker 4: That's junior wife grabbing some random Wang.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Yeah so some random Wong. Yeah, let me tell you,
- 17:14Speaker 3: Garrett Wong is amazing, such a super nice guy.
- 17:20Speaker 7: Uh.
- 17:21Speaker 3: We we saw him do the panel. I was able
- 17:24Speaker 3: to ask him my question. Uh, and it was I've
- 17:28Speaker 3: got the I think I put the video up on
- 17:30Speaker 3: the Facebook group.
- 17:32Speaker 5: Oh yeah, let me see if I can pull that up.
- 17:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah, so it was it was a really it was
- 17:37Speaker 3: a really good time.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Back in the old Star Trek the Experience days, he
- 17:42Speaker 2: would just hang out at the the experience like he
- 17:45Speaker 2: was just regular.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he's.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a fan. He's uh he he loves he
- 17:52Speaker 3: loves the fans. He's you know, he said after the
- 17:56Speaker 3: after the the panel, he's like, uh, come by my
- 17:59Speaker 3: booth and say Like they started to run out of
- 18:00Speaker 3: time for questions, He's like, just come by my booth.
- 18:03Speaker 3: He's like, you don't have to buy anything, just come
- 18:05Speaker 3: by and say hi. And people did and he was
- 18:07Speaker 3: more than happy to chit chat and everything. So yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 3: he loved. I also got him to sign this, so
- 18:16Speaker 3: for those of you you can't see, this is a
- 18:18Speaker 3: picture of the Voyager crew with my wife superimposed in
- 18:22Speaker 3: the corner. And this is from when we went to
- 18:25Speaker 3: Star Trek the Experience back in two thousand and two,
- 18:29Speaker 3: and we had this printed up and I had him
- 18:32Speaker 3: sign it.
- 18:33Speaker 5: So, yeah, I got your video cuede up. Let's want
- 18:37Speaker 5: to do that with your question.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that'd be great.
- 18:39Speaker 5: Okay, let's do that. Did anybody from the cast ever
- 18:44Speaker 5: invite you over for dinner?
- 18:45Speaker 4: And it's so who was the best cook?
- 18:49Speaker 1: Oh that's a very easy that's a very easy answer
- 18:55Speaker 1: to answer, the best cook. Yes, I've been invited over
- 18:58Speaker 1: dinner to different peop those places, but the best book
- 19:02Speaker 1: of all, hands down is Roxanne Dawson.
- 19:07Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 19:08Speaker 1: I went to her house and she literally I think
- 19:12Speaker 1: she cooked everything. By the way, nothing was catered. She
- 19:15Speaker 1: cooked every single dish. There was probably seventeen different, different,
- 19:19Speaker 1: distinctly different dishes on this table that was sort of
- 19:22Speaker 1: like a potluck, but it was a pot luck where
- 19:25Speaker 1: she brought everything right.
- 19:26Speaker 4: She made everything, and I remember.
- 19:30Speaker 1: When I was eating it, because typically when people have
- 19:32Speaker 1: different dishes, like one thing is.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Your favorite, one thing is like, oh that's not bad.
- 19:36Speaker 5: Everything all seventeen were amazing. I had four full.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Plates of food.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Someone had to put me at a wheelbarrow and moved
- 19:43Speaker 1: me to take me back to my car because I
- 19:45Speaker 1: was so full because I could not stop eating.
- 19:47Speaker 3: The delicious food that she made.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And I reminded her of this on the last Star
- 19:52Speaker 1: Trek cruise. I just saw her on this last one,
- 19:54Speaker 1: last this past year, and I was I said, oh
- 19:58Speaker 1: my god, thank you so much for that amazing experience.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And and uh and she goes, well, you know we're
- 20:04Speaker 1: in Nebraska now, so we always have a big Thanksgiving
- 20:06Speaker 1: you want to, So I'm actually this next thing to
- 20:08Speaker 1: be going on.
- 20:14Speaker 4: Nice, nice, nice, Yeah he was.
- 20:17Speaker 3: He was great, so energetic, so so much fun.
- 20:21Speaker 2: You know.
- 20:21Speaker 3: I've I've I've been to panels of you know, a
- 20:24Speaker 3: dozen Star Trek actors now and I've I've had my
- 20:26Speaker 3: picture taken with a dozen of them. You know. On
- 20:29Speaker 3: one end of the spectrum, there's Skates McFadden. I wouldn't
- 20:33Speaker 3: like to use the word cold to describe her, but
- 20:35Speaker 3: I'm going to use the word cold to describe her.
- 20:38Speaker 3: On the other end of the spectrum is Garrett Wan
- 20:40Speaker 3: super chill dude. You know. I when I was when
- 20:42Speaker 3: I was at his booth, I told him, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 3: about our podcast and and he I told him a
- 20:49Speaker 3: story about like how one time during our podcast we
- 20:52Speaker 3: were talking about Voyager and I happened to mention something
- 20:56Speaker 3: that they were talking about on their podcast and I said, yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 3: Garrett and Robbie and I think Dan called me out,
- 21:02Speaker 3: was like, Garrett and Robbie, you guys like best friends now?
- 21:06Speaker 3: And I told that story. He thought it was great,
- 21:09Speaker 3: he thought it was so funny. Yeah. I had a
- 21:13Speaker 3: really really good time hung out with uh, the the
- 21:18Speaker 3: crew of the USS Tecumsa with Captain Captain Vern, he's
- 21:23Speaker 3: the captain of that ship. Hung out. There was a
- 21:25Speaker 3: couple of different ships there from start uh starfleetdn't you
- 21:29Speaker 3: know start talking international and uh, what a great group
- 21:33Speaker 3: of guys. You know, they do a lot of volunteer
- 21:36Speaker 3: work and working with kids and uh, you know, all
- 21:40Speaker 3: over the place, and uh, you know, Vern is just
- 21:42Speaker 3: a great guy. We hung out quite a bit. I
- 21:45Speaker 3: went he they did a panel as well, and I
- 21:48Speaker 3: went there and hung out and uh, just a just
- 21:51Speaker 3: a super great group of people. You know, they're just
- 21:55Speaker 3: they're awesome there. So Bird's gonna come on the show sometime,
- 21:59Speaker 3: uh and hang out. So yeah, I told him, you know,
- 22:04Speaker 3: we got some you know, listener feedback, you know that
- 22:07Speaker 3: he can come on and just hang out. And he's
- 22:10Speaker 3: at the can still on right now.
- 22:13Speaker 4: So sorry, sorry, sorry, Garrett. Robbie called ya.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, we're all uh we're all going.
- 22:25Speaker 4: To Nebraska for Thanksgiving.
- 22:27Speaker 5: So they just want to let me know, wonderful get
- 22:32Speaker 5: some of that good food. Yeah. Oh well, should we
- 22:38Speaker 5: get to the main topic, the stranger World's predictions?
- 22:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's Stranger's coming out. Is that the main
- 22:45Speaker 3: time is that the main topic topic we didn't want.
- 22:48Speaker 5: To get through it. And then and then we'll get
- 22:49Speaker 5: to that.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Is that the main topic? Is it? Really? Yeah?
- 22:55Speaker 5: I mean.
- 22:58Speaker 3: God, I had a whole intry that I was gonna
- 23:01Speaker 3: do too, and I've said no time to do it.
- 23:03Speaker 3: So good, good do it, good, do it, do it,
- 23:06Speaker 3: do it right now? All right, ladies and gentlemen, fun
- 23:10Speaker 3: will now come too easy.
- 23:16Speaker 5: That's to go ahead, go ahead and do it actually.
- 23:19Speaker 3: All right, ladies and gentlemen. Live from studios in Metropolis, Smallville,
- 23:25Speaker 3: and Central City, this is Superman Cast, the Galaxy's most
- 23:29Speaker 3: Unpredictable Superman podcast. Today on the show, we're gonna talk
- 23:33Speaker 3: exclusively about the new Superman movie. Plus we've got nope,
- 23:38Speaker 3: just a Superman movie and nope, just a Superman movie.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I'm Scott Strongbeard Bowders here with Daniel Reyes and now
- 23:47Speaker 3: look up in the sky.
- 23:48Speaker 5: It's a bird. It's a play.
- 23:50Speaker 3: No, it's Dad Lobarto. Wow, thank you guys for that.
- 24:00Speaker 5: Awesome awesome. So yeah, just like years before, uh, this
- 24:06Speaker 5: is our big prediction show.
- 24:08Speaker 6: So I've got just a few statements and then just
- 24:12Speaker 6: like in years before, it's either likely or unlikely. This
- 24:15Speaker 6: time there is a change. I've added a new player
- 24:18Speaker 6: into the game because we all try to beat our
- 24:21Speaker 6: meat each other. But this time, our new at our
- 24:26Speaker 6: new challenger is the magic eight ball. So I have
- 24:31Speaker 6: found a magic eight ball online. Let's see who can
- 24:37Speaker 6: win us or the magic eight ball.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I love it, Yeah, I love the I love the
- 24:44Speaker 4: low tech approach, you know, not chat no.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Magic a ball, yes, yes, absolutely so yeah, well we
- 24:53Speaker 5: beat the Magic gate ball, who knows.
- 24:55Speaker 6: So we'll get through these and then we can talk
- 24:58Speaker 6: about Superman like we all want. All right, So this
- 25:03Speaker 6: is a prediction for Stranger in the World, which is
- 25:06Speaker 6: starting up this week.
- 25:08Speaker 4: So this week.
- 25:09Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, that's why we're doing this today, right, So
- 25:16Speaker 6: all right, First one, this season will be better than
- 25:19Speaker 6: the last.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Likely or unlikely.
- 25:24Speaker 3: So I heard from what I think you reported in
- 25:27Speaker 3: the news about somebody watched what was Got an early screen.
- 25:33Speaker 6: Yeah, there was some reviewer that we did their story.
- 25:38Speaker 6: They basically said that this season is basically more the same,
- 25:43Speaker 6: but not as great. Other reviews have since come out.
- 25:47Speaker 5: And most of those basically say he has just more
- 25:49Speaker 5: of the same.
- 25:50Speaker 3: So all right, Season two wasn't bad. There was a
- 25:54Speaker 3: you know, the the you know those Old Explorers and
- 25:57Speaker 3: you know Star Trek Behem in Rhapsody, whatever it was.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Those those shows swung for the fences and for the
- 26:04Speaker 3: most part, you know, I think they were home runs.
- 26:09Speaker 3: The rest of the season. I just got done rewatching
- 26:11Speaker 3: the season, so it's still fresh. It's still fresh in
- 26:14Speaker 3: my mind. It was a good season. It was a
- 26:16Speaker 3: good season of trick. We got spoiled in season one, right,
- 26:21Speaker 3: I think because season one a strange the world was excellent. Yeah,
- 26:25Speaker 3: and you know that was kind of a lightning in
- 26:27Speaker 3: the bottle situation straight. Season two was really really good,
- 26:31Speaker 3: I think it. There was a little bit of highs
- 26:32Speaker 3: and lows. I think it. You know, there was a
- 26:35Speaker 3: couple of episodes that were in so so that were
- 26:39Speaker 3: kind of forgettable. But you know, the two episodes that
- 26:42Speaker 3: I mentioned beforehand, you know, the episode where the alternate
- 26:45Speaker 3: timeline with the with the Noonian singing and Kirk was
- 26:51Speaker 3: a really good episode. I really really enjoyed that the
- 26:53Speaker 3: second time around. Well, okay, so getting back to the
- 26:59Speaker 3: to the prediction season will be better than last. We've
- 27:04Speaker 3: already got this prejudice in our heads because of all
- 27:06Speaker 3: these reviews.
- 27:07Speaker 2: M hm.
- 27:09Speaker 3: So but for you specifically, I I hope it will
- 27:14Speaker 3: be and I think it will be better than the
- 27:16Speaker 3: last season.
- 27:17Speaker 5: Okay, So you're gonna go with likely, yep, dan likely
- 27:21Speaker 5: or un likely?
- 27:22Speaker 2: I feel I feel overall Star Trek is losing some steam,
- 27:27Speaker 2: okay right now, So going with that trend, I'm gonna
- 27:32Speaker 2: say it's it's not going to.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Be better okay than last season?
- 27:37Speaker 4: Okay.
- 27:40Speaker 6: I I think part of the reason why season one
- 27:45Speaker 6: was so great is because it was new and different.
- 27:49Speaker 6: I'm pretty pretty big about that, like new experiences, and
- 27:53Speaker 6: so you feel it more at first. Do I think
- 27:57Speaker 6: it'll be better? Probably not. I'm not gonna say that
- 28:00Speaker 6: it's worse. I think it'll be about us on our
- 28:03Speaker 6: as season two. So will it be better now?
- 28:05Speaker 5: Unlikely? And then let's ask our buddy or should we
- 28:13Speaker 5: do these at the end with the magic ball.
- 28:17Speaker 3: However you want to do it?
- 28:18Speaker 5: All right, Well, we'll do this one and then after
- 28:22Speaker 5: that we'll bounce them all at the end. All right,
- 28:25Speaker 5: so magic gate ball. Will it'll be better than then
- 28:28Speaker 5: the last season? Yes?
- 28:29Speaker 3: Or no.
- 28:32Speaker 5: Shaking? It is decidedly so okay, magugate Ball says agrees
- 28:39Speaker 5: with me. All right, so so far it's Scott in
- 28:42Speaker 5: the Magic gate Ball. We'll see what happens, all right.
- 28:47Speaker 3: That was a great band, by the way, Scott Ball, Yeah,
- 28:53Speaker 3: never heard of him.
- 28:54Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I prefer to Dan's there you go that
- 28:59Speaker 8: Mighty Crab Joys. Yeah, yeah, my two dance.
- 29:05Speaker 5: Yes, there you go?
- 29:06Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:07Speaker 6: Next one, this is from Juan Aguilar. It's going to
- 29:10Speaker 6: be fun likely or unlikely. I feel like, okay, so,
- 29:17Speaker 6: but you guys are likely.
- 29:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I think so too.
- 29:22Speaker 6: All right, Like I said, we'll get the Magic bad Dan. Yeah,
- 29:25Speaker 6: all right, Next one, the gorn problem will be fixed quickly.
- 29:29Speaker 5: So would you say likely, Scott?
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I hope so. And I've also got an idea.
- 29:39Speaker 3: I think that they should introduce the uh geriatric gorn.
- 29:45Speaker 3: Oh no, and they show when the gorn age and
- 29:49Speaker 3: they get to be, you know, seven hundred years old
- 29:51Speaker 3: or so, they start to grow, they start to get
- 29:55Speaker 3: more rigid, their eyes start to uh to start to
- 30:00Speaker 3: kind of look like uh disco balls, and they start
- 30:05Speaker 3: looking like the gorn that Kirk fought.
- 30:07Speaker 2: So so basically what you're saying is they're gonna wreck
- 30:09Speaker 2: coonent in that Kirk was not a badass because he
- 30:14Speaker 2: beat up the nine hundred years no man.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he beat up an elderly and elderly Gorn. Yeah,
- 30:20Speaker 3: and that that Gorn was just you know, he was
- 30:23Speaker 3: like the elder Statesman, just trying to communicate with They
- 30:25Speaker 3: sent him because he was the wisest of all the Gorn.
- 30:28Speaker 4: It was Joe, that Joe Biden of Gorn's.
- 30:31Speaker 3: He didn't exactly, he didn't even know he was there.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Oh wow, so dain.
- 30:42Speaker 5: Quickly? Likely or unlikely?
- 30:44Speaker 4: I mean, we only have ten episodes. Last season was
- 30:46Speaker 4: the Gor.
- 30:47Speaker 2: They're gonna they're gonna wrap up the Gorn thing in
- 30:50Speaker 2: the first the first episode, So yeah, likely, I.
- 30:54Speaker 5: Think so too. They just got to move on. So
- 30:56Speaker 5: all right, next one, A main character dies this season,
- 31:01Speaker 5: likely or unlikely, not saying who, Well.
- 31:07Speaker 2: We lost what's his name the first season? Right, Yeah,
- 31:11Speaker 2: we lost the Andorian guy. Yeah, we didn't lose anybody
- 31:16Speaker 2: last season, right, No, do we all like that?
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yeah? We got Scottie. Do we like the new engineer?
- 31:26Speaker 3: Do we like the the woman? I don't like her?
- 31:31Speaker 5: Yeah, she feels like she's a character from another show.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Right, So yeah, I'm gonna say, I don't think the
- 31:38Speaker 3: main character is gonna die with the caveat, and I
- 31:40Speaker 3: hope she does then, and not in a bad way.
- 31:42Speaker 3: I hope. I hope it's touching. I hope it's emotional.
- 31:44Speaker 3: I hope she dies saving the ship. But no, I
- 31:47Speaker 3: don't think anything the main character is gonna.
- 31:48Speaker 2: Die if we lose if we lose Miracle Max's wife,
- 31:51Speaker 2: I'm not gonna, but that would be a main character.
- 31:57Speaker 2: So yeah, so you know what, Yes, I'm gonna, Yes,
- 32:00Speaker 2: we're gonna She's already dead to me, so we just
- 32:04Speaker 2: need to make her everyone else.
- 32:07Speaker 5: Okay, I do think it's possible. Yeah, I think I
- 32:11Speaker 5: think we do lose somebody. All right, there's a kling
- 32:15Speaker 5: On episode. Unlikely.
- 32:17Speaker 3: Yeah, there's gonna be a clean episode.
- 32:20Speaker 5: Okay, but you guys are likely.
- 32:22Speaker 6: I'm gonna go unlikely. I don't think they're they're ready
- 32:26Speaker 6: to do that. The episode where everyone turns to a
- 32:31Speaker 6: vulcan is our favorite.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I'm gonna hate this episode. Unlikely, Okay, I think I'm
- 32:38Speaker 3: gonna love it. Okay, because they're gonna do that thing
- 32:41Speaker 3: where the writers forgot what a vulcan is and they're
- 32:45Speaker 3: gonna say, well, now you're genetically a vulcan, so that
- 32:47Speaker 3: means that you don't have emotions, because that's what it
- 32:50Speaker 3: kind of looked like. It looked like they got genetically
- 32:52Speaker 3: modified to be a vulcan with the pointy ears and
- 32:55Speaker 3: automatically made them stoic and logical and emotionless.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:01Speaker 3: I've seen Star Trek, so I know that that's not
- 33:03Speaker 3: the way it works.
- 33:05Speaker 4: So if if they want to, all right, so, no,
- 33:10Speaker 4: that wouldn't really work. Never mind, I don't know.
- 33:14Speaker 5: I like.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Jet Reno as the engineer, Dan, are you still going
- 33:21Speaker 3: with likely that.
- 33:21Speaker 2: I still think it's gonna be my Yeah, I still
- 33:24Speaker 2: think it's gonna be my favorite.
- 33:25Speaker 3: I think it's gonna be a fun episode. You guys
- 33:27Speaker 3: are wrong. It's gonna be horrible. Oh my god, it's
- 33:30Speaker 3: gonna be the low.
- 33:31Speaker 5: Series the next one. There's no cliffhanger ending for the season.
- 33:37Speaker 3: Disagree, I disagree. There's definitely. Yeah, there's gonna be one.
- 33:41Speaker 3: They already know.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Two right, oh this too.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Yeah, they already renewed it for a fifth season, fifth
- 33:48Speaker 3: and final season.
- 33:50Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, I'm also gonna go unlikely. All right, Uh,
- 33:57Speaker 5: there is a Star Trek Academy Easter.
- 34:01Speaker 3: This was a question last year about like Discovery the
- 34:04Speaker 3: Fast Discovery, and there wasn't like they didn't tease it
- 34:07Speaker 3: at all. Yeah, Starfleet to Yes, star Trek Academy is
- 34:11Speaker 3: not going to be in this timeline at all, so
- 34:15Speaker 3: I think unlikely.
- 34:17Speaker 2: Well, it is in this timeline, it's not in this
- 34:19Speaker 2: time period, it's in this universe.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Five hundred years later.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Yeah, So I mean, I don't know they will.
- 34:30Speaker 3: I think they will.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I think they will show elements of Star Trek of
- 34:37Speaker 2: Starfleet Academy that we will then see again when the
- 34:41Speaker 2: show comes out.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, I think they can't help themselves. They want
- 34:46Speaker 5: to tease it. Yeah yeah, all right, next one, Scotty
- 34:51Speaker 5: becomes the chief engineer, so at any point.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Likely I think. So Okay, yeah, yeah, I think they are. Okay,
- 35:06Speaker 3: he's only junior grade. But yeah, I think it's likely.
- 35:09Speaker 5: I think unlikely only because they've got five seasons, right,
- 35:15Speaker 5: they can do that in season four or five, they've
- 35:17Speaker 5: got a runaway, So I'm gonna go unlikely. Uh, Sidebok
- 35:23Speaker 5: returns because we had that tease.
- 35:28Speaker 3: What was the tease again?
- 35:30Speaker 6: They just kind of showed him like Spock had done
- 35:34Speaker 6: something and you intercepthing a message or something. I mean,
- 35:38Speaker 6: it was just real quick and you miss it.
- 35:41Speaker 3: I don't think so they're not going to bring back
- 35:42Speaker 3: a terrible character from arguably one of the worst original
- 35:47Speaker 3: series movies that ever existed.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 35:53Speaker 2: He's got to be a mystery when that movie happens,
- 35:56Speaker 2: so right, I think it was. I think it was
- 35:58Speaker 2: just a tease.
- 35:59Speaker 3: I don't think we're gonna say Kirk says, I know
- 36:02Speaker 3: he's not your brother because you don't have a brother.
- 36:04Speaker 3: He can't possibly be a brother, right, you don't have
- 36:06Speaker 3: a brother.
- 36:09Speaker 6: I think that the group that was so excited to
- 36:12Speaker 6: be unshackled from Cannon would very much do whatever.
- 36:17Speaker 5: The hell they want. So I'm gonna go likely.
- 36:21Speaker 4: Okay.
- 36:22Speaker 6: The last one from Steven Wilson. This is also from
- 36:25Speaker 6: social media. Too much comedy, not enough space drama.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Like you think they've overcorrected from Discovery. You think there
- 36:32Speaker 3: was still so much crying and discovery that Terry Metallis
- 36:37Speaker 3: was like over oversteered or that's what's gonna happen. No,
- 36:48Speaker 3: I don't think we'll likely.
- 36:51Speaker 6: Yeah, too much comedy, not enough space drama. I mean,
- 36:56Speaker 6: Discovery was too much drama not enough comedy.
- 37:00Speaker 3: So do you think Stranger World is gonna go the
- 37:02Speaker 3: opposite way?
- 37:03Speaker 5: Yeah? I think Strange World is your doofy silly show.
- 37:06Speaker 5: I mean that's when it's become.
- 37:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna sound likely. I think it's gonna be just
- 37:12Speaker 2: like just just the right amount. Yeah, they've done a
- 37:17Speaker 2: pretty good job of balancing that.
- 37:20Speaker 5: I'm gonna I think as it goes on, it's gonna
- 37:22Speaker 5: get more comical. So I'm gonna go with that. All right,
- 37:26Speaker 5: let's uh, we'll run through these with the Magic a
- 37:29Speaker 5: Ball and see what it says. So it's there, okay.
- 37:37Speaker 5: So for the Magic eight Ball, the first one, it's
- 37:42Speaker 5: going to be fun likely or unlikely Okay, likely, okay,
- 37:51Speaker 5: all right.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Next one, we love that we're relying on a program
- 37:56Speaker 3: that was probably written by a kindergartener using C plus. Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 5: Yeah, the gorn problem will be picked quickly likely or unlikely,
- 38:08Speaker 5: most likely?
- 38:10Speaker 3: Good okay, Yeah, Magic a Ball knows what's up?
- 38:14Speaker 5: All right? Next one, Uh, the main character dies this
- 38:18Speaker 5: season and Magic a Ball ask again later.
- 38:24Speaker 4: M M, all right, come back to that one.
- 38:28Speaker 6: All right, we'll come back to that. There's a klingon
- 38:30Speaker 6: episode very doubtful. Okay, uh an episode where everyone turns
- 38:41Speaker 6: fulcan is our favorites?
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yes? Uh yeah, it's all right. This ball is broken.
- 38:52Speaker 5: There's no clip on your ending for the season. Better
- 38:57Speaker 5: tell you, better not tell you.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Better not tell you now. Oh no, that's kind of
- 39:01Speaker 3: a cliffhanger, so.
- 39:02Speaker 4: You got to ask that one again later.
- 39:04Speaker 5: Okay, all right, all right?
- 39:08Speaker 6: Oh there's an easter egg prespers mid academy. Likely, let's
- 39:14Speaker 6: see Scotty becomes the chief engineer. Yes, oh man, Magic
- 39:22Speaker 6: g Abel is making some bold predictions.
- 39:24Speaker 3: I'm getting the feeling that this eight ball is giving
- 39:26Speaker 3: us random answers.
- 39:28Speaker 5: What dare you say?
- 39:30Speaker 3: Such?
- 39:32Speaker 5: Sybok returns, shakes and shake outlook good.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Get this eight ball out of here. I'm sick of
- 39:39Speaker 3: its crap.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Too much comedy done. Magic a ball says out look good. Okay, okay, all.
- 39:49Speaker 6: Right, so the ones we ask again? Main character dies
- 39:52Speaker 6: this season, come on, Magic eight ball, shake and shake
- 39:56Speaker 6: my my sources say no, okay, who are their sources?
- 40:03Speaker 6: And there's no cliff ager.
- 40:04Speaker 3: In a bowl, a bowling ball, and a football, it.
- 40:09Speaker 6: Says, yes, so likely no cliffhanger in Okay, Okay, so
- 40:14Speaker 6: there you go. That's all the predictions. We will check
- 40:18Speaker 6: the back with these at the end of the season
- 40:20Speaker 6: like we always do.
- 40:21Speaker 2: We win match win.
- 40:25Speaker 6: All the hunters, says. Mata says, there's a pon far episode.
- 40:29Speaker 6: Oh good lord, maybe it's a whole different kind of shade.
- 40:33Speaker 4: Shake.
- 40:33Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, do we wanna do we want to
- 40:41Speaker 5: talk about the other main topic?
- 40:43Speaker 2: No, that's sorry, We'll tend the show.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Yeah, all right, So should we say spoiler warning, spoiling.
- 40:55Speaker 3: I'm not going to give out too many spoilers. I'm
- 40:57Speaker 3: actually gonna go see the movie again today.
- 40:59Speaker 5: I just feel who might accidentally slip And that's why.
- 41:01Speaker 3: That's why I don't want to be overly spoiler, spoiler or.
- 41:05Speaker 6: Tell you what if you more? Because I thought about this.
- 41:10Speaker 6: I'm gonna put this banner up Superman. That's how long
- 41:13Speaker 6: we will As long as that banner is up. You're
- 41:16Speaker 6: talking about Superman. So if you don't want to know,
- 41:19Speaker 6: just in case, gotcha. When we're done, I'll remove the banner.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Okay, all right?
- 41:24Speaker 5: Would you guys think do you like it or a lot? Not?
- 41:27Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 41:28Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 41:30Speaker 1: It.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was it's the best Superman movie
- 41:35Speaker 2: since nineteen eighty.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yep, I agree hundred percent. James Gunn out
- 41:41Speaker 3: of the park.
- 41:42Speaker 4: Yeah, all the all the what do they call them
- 41:47Speaker 4: Snyderbots or whatever.
- 41:49Speaker 5: Yeah, the monkeys go sit on it. Yeah.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I didn't even pick that up. I didn't even pick
- 41:56Speaker 3: that up. The monkeys. Yeah, that that was the Snyder.
- 41:59Speaker 3: That was a.
- 42:02Speaker 5: Yeah, he's very subversive. It's great.
- 42:05Speaker 4: Yeah, no, it was. It was good.
- 42:09Speaker 2: I I was very vocal about how I love the
- 42:14Speaker 2: colors of the of the uniform, of the costume. I
- 42:21Speaker 2: love the return of the trunks. I was not crazy
- 42:26Speaker 2: about the design of the costume. I was not crazy
- 42:28Speaker 2: about the s. I wanted the classic s. I was
- 42:33Speaker 2: not crazy about the collar. I wanted the the Kate
- 42:37Speaker 2: tucked into his his collar, not the not the high collar.
- 42:42Speaker 3: It was so good. I don't really care about those
- 42:44Speaker 3: things anymore. That's how good the movie was. It really was.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Guy Gardner, it was was so much better than I
- 42:56Speaker 3: thought he would be.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Every time I saw him in preview, I was kind
- 43:01Speaker 2: of cringing, like, come on, you know, yeah, this is
- 43:04Speaker 2: what we're getting for Greenley.
- 43:06Speaker 3: He was great. He was great, mister terrific. Was good.
- 43:10Speaker 5: Do you know that he's already said that in Lanterns
- 43:13Speaker 5: he drops more f bombs than he's ever dropped in it,
- 43:16Speaker 5: and then he shows.
- 43:17Speaker 3: He's yeah, he's in Lanterns.
- 43:20Speaker 4: He's gonna we know, yeah, I was it, sure.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, there's gonna be four four lanterns, four human
- 43:28Speaker 3: lanterns in the show. Okay, there was gonna be Hal
- 43:33Speaker 3: and John.
- 43:33Speaker 4: Who's the who's the is it what's her name? Jessica
- 43:39Speaker 4: something or other?
- 43:40Speaker 5: Cruise?
- 43:40Speaker 4: There a female, yeah, Jessica Cruise.
- 43:44Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay, I don't know who the first one is,
- 43:47Speaker 5: but all wants to know. How was Nicholas as Alex Luthor?
- 43:52Speaker 3: He was great? Yeah, he was great.
- 43:55Speaker 4: It was fantastic.
- 43:56Speaker 5: Eddy as Hell.
- 44:00Speaker 4: I thought it was great. Yeah, yeah, I don't know,
- 44:03Speaker 4: I can't.
- 44:04Speaker 3: I you know.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Jonathan and Martha Kent, so I really like the fact
- 44:10Speaker 2: that Jonathan Kent is still alive. They don't do the
- 44:15Speaker 2: whole he dies, there's no reason. There's no reason for that.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Post crisis. He's been he's been alive with Superman as
- 44:24Speaker 2: an adult since nineteen eighty five, and to keep to
- 44:30Speaker 2: keep killing him off, I think is a mistake.
- 44:33Speaker 4: So I liked.
- 44:34Speaker 2: I liked how they flipped the dynamic a little bit,
- 44:38Speaker 2: and his dad's a big softy and his mom's got
- 44:42Speaker 2: no problem.
- 44:44Speaker 4: Fell that in his face.
- 44:46Speaker 3: But what I also what I also liked is.
- 44:51Speaker 2: It was a realistic depiction of a contemporary American farming family. Yeah, okay,
- 45:01Speaker 2: it's not a beautiful farmhouse with a with a picket
- 45:06Speaker 2: fence and a big giant farm. You didn't see the
- 45:10Speaker 2: house very much, but I read somewhere that it's a
- 45:12Speaker 2: double wide trailer, which is what which is what a
- 45:16Speaker 2: family like that would be would be living in today.
- 45:22Speaker 2: They look like regular people. Yeah, okay, it's it wasn't
- 45:29Speaker 2: Kevin Costner and uh I can't remember.
- 45:32Speaker 3: Who who played his mom in the uh Byan Lane.
- 45:37Speaker 2: Yeah, which you know, even though they're they're both older people,
- 45:41Speaker 2: they're older attractive people. And the reality is if you
- 45:45Speaker 2: plopped yourself down in the middle of Kansas and selected
- 45:48Speaker 2: a random farmhouse, that's who you're gonna find.
- 45:52Speaker 3: You're gonna find the people that were in this movie.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Yeah, and that made sense to me.
- 46:00Speaker 2: You know, little things like he's just sitting there, he's
- 46:02Speaker 2: sitting outside eating a bowl of cereal. Yeah, because that's
- 46:06Speaker 2: what a regular person does, right.
- 46:11Speaker 5: Yeah, oh no, we lost an he's just frozen.
- 46:17Speaker 3: I was mistaken. There's not four lanterns, there's three. There's
- 46:20Speaker 3: John Stewart guy and Kyle Chandler is playing al cal
- 46:28Speaker 3: Jordan's yeah all Thomas and is playing Sinestro. Uh yeah,
- 46:36Speaker 3: uh it had heart when you know. The scene that
- 46:40Speaker 3: really got to me was when Superman uh bursts into
- 46:46Speaker 3: Lexus place and was telling him this is what my
- 46:49Speaker 3: life is about. I get up and I make mistakes
- 46:51Speaker 3: and I put one four foot in front of the other,
- 46:54Speaker 3: and I, you know, I don't know what I'm doing,
- 46:55Speaker 3: but I'm doing my best to do good. And that's
- 46:58Speaker 3: you know. He was describing every working person's you know life.
- 47:04Speaker 3: You know. I'm like, that's me. I don't know what
- 47:06Speaker 3: the hell I'm doing either. I get up every day
- 47:09Speaker 3: on Sundays, I get up and I do a podcast.
- 47:11Speaker 3: I'm not I don't know what the hell I'm doing.
- 47:13Speaker 3: I'm not a podcaster, yet here I am, you know.
- 47:16Speaker 5: Right it did with Superman burst to the door and
- 47:20Speaker 5: said where's the dog? Did you stand up and cheer?
- 47:26Speaker 3: I thought this movie is gonna get John Wick real quick.
- 47:28Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I thought the dog was gonna bite it.
- 47:32Speaker 3: Yeah, the dogs.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Let the dogs survive.
- 47:35Speaker 2: But backing up to a minute to what I was
- 47:36Speaker 2: saying before, I, uh my connection dropped out. Yeah, just
- 47:42Speaker 2: I enjoyed seeing the interactions with him and his Earth parents.
- 47:44Speaker 2: When he's eating that cereal and his dad walks down,
- 47:46Speaker 2: his dad wants to sit down.
- 47:48Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if you notice, but he just
- 47:50Speaker 4: motioned to him like move over. Yeah, And it was
- 47:55Speaker 4: it was genuine. It was genuine and and I and
- 47:59Speaker 4: I get the.
- 48:02Speaker 2: He's Superman not because of the things that he can do.
- 48:06Speaker 2: He's superman because of the super upbringing that he received
- 48:11Speaker 2: from these two regular people. Yeah, spoken like yeah, and
- 48:18Speaker 2: I think I think that gets missed sometimes or you know,
- 48:22Speaker 2: they show it and then they throw it away. You know,
- 48:27Speaker 2: Smallville some of the best I feel like Smallville jumped
- 48:30Speaker 2: the Shark when they killed off Jonathan Kent, because some
- 48:34Speaker 2: of some of the best scenes in that show were.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Clark's an alien from outer space. He develops this this
- 48:42Speaker 2: new power. It's it's ruining his life for the middle
- 48:47Speaker 2: twenty minutes of the episode, and then he goes to
- 48:51Speaker 2: see his dad who's chopping wood in the back forty
- 48:54Speaker 2: and his dad, who cannot fly, who cannot lift a cow,
- 48:59Speaker 2: who cannot make things burst into flames with his eyes,
- 49:03Speaker 2: stops chopping Wood, takes his gloves off, takes a break,
- 49:06Speaker 2: and says, you know, Clark, you're gonna find in life
- 49:09Speaker 2: that blah blah blah blah blah. But he blah blah blah. Right,
- 49:13Speaker 2: And that's the whole crux of the episode, not what
- 49:15Speaker 2: he can do, but what his dad taught him and
- 49:19Speaker 2: how he then takes that information and and uses that
- 49:23Speaker 2: to mold himself into what we know is going to
- 49:27Speaker 2: be the greatest, the greatest hero on the planet Earth.
- 49:32Speaker 4: So hopefully they keep they keep Jonathan and Martha around
- 49:38Speaker 4: for a while.
- 49:39Speaker 3: You know, I think a lot of people have said it. People,
- 49:41Speaker 3: you know, I've said it. Kalil as a baby lands
- 49:44Speaker 3: somewhere else. You know, he becomes omni man, he becomes
- 49:48Speaker 3: Homelander easily.
- 49:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:53Speaker 5: When there's a comic Red Sun, Yeah, yeah.
- 49:59Speaker 3: They've done iteration of that, like animated stuff, and yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 3: I like that.
- 50:06Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 50:07Speaker 5: There there's videos of people now going to the theater
- 50:11Speaker 5: like in full costume. But I saw one guy who
- 50:13Speaker 5: showed up in a full Homelander costume because.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:20Speaker 5: And Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander, was like, I like this,
- 50:26Speaker 5: if you don't like the movie, show up in a
- 50:27Speaker 5: rival you know, a rival costume, like a rival jersey
- 50:31Speaker 5: from another team.
- 50:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw a picture of a batman sitting outside
- 50:38Speaker 3: the theater with a sign that says save the Snyder Verse.
- 50:41Speaker 5: Yes, there's some guy in times where doing that. Such
- 50:44Speaker 5: a whatever man, I hope they Yeah, it's the monkeys.
- 50:50Speaker 4: It's gone. Yeah, well it's mostly gone. All still exists apparently. Yeah,
- 51:00Speaker 4: because what's the Peacemaker.
- 51:04Speaker 5: In the movie.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I had to explain to my wife on the ride
- 51:11Speaker 2: home who Peacemaker is and what that all about. And
- 51:17Speaker 2: I told her, how, you know, I I don't usually
- 51:21Speaker 2: like adult superhero films. I don't like John Cena. I
- 51:31Speaker 2: watched it on a whim and I was like embarrassed
- 51:35Speaker 2: by how much I loved.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Yeah, me too, I was embarrassed. And I never skipped
- 51:41Speaker 3: the intro.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Yeah, I just can't wait for return of Eagerly. Yes,
- 51:51Speaker 5: so are all the Year is going to get Animal Friends?
- 51:52Speaker 3: Now?
- 51:53Speaker 5: Is that what we're doing?
- 51:56Speaker 3: Hopefully? Yeah?
- 52:00Speaker 2: They played mister Terrific. That guy Yeah, the guy who
- 52:05Speaker 2: played was he Was he a peacemaker? Was he the
- 52:11Speaker 2: guy who ran the team who was secretly an alien?
- 52:15Speaker 4: Is that the same? Is that the same actor?
- 52:17Speaker 5: No, different actors. He was the an X one for
- 52:21Speaker 5: his class.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Yes, and he got dirty Darwin survive all right.
- 52:28Speaker 4: Yeah he was wearing that thing on it. He was
- 52:30Speaker 4: wearing the tea on his face the whole time.
- 52:32Speaker 5: So yeah, you know, you never That was one thing
- 52:36Speaker 5: I really loved about this movie is they're constantly in costumes,
- 52:39Speaker 5: Like Superman is barely Clark Kent.
- 52:42Speaker 3: That's true.
- 52:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, he's just Superman. They're walking around fine, yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 5: you know, hang thee Yeah yeah, yeah, well it's like
- 52:57Speaker 5: it's like The Batman with Robert Pattinson.
- 53:00Speaker 4: I really liked how how human?
- 53:05Speaker 5: Yeah, how human? What? Oh?
- 53:12Speaker 2: No?
- 53:12Speaker 5: Do we lose him again?
- 53:16Speaker 4: Daniel liked how human Superman was. How human Superman was? Yeah?
- 53:25Speaker 2: All right, So when he's being interviewed by Lois and
- 53:28Speaker 2: she's talking about the social media stuff and she says
- 53:32Speaker 2: super ship and he just loses his mind.
- 53:37Speaker 3: And he's just like you know what, you know? Yeah,
- 53:43Speaker 3: it was a good Yeah, it was a good scene.
- 53:47Speaker 3: Was there anything that really surprised you am I losing
- 53:50Speaker 3: to you guys again, it's going in and out.
- 53:54Speaker 5: I don't know if you want to reset maybe.
- 53:56Speaker 3: What was there? Were there any surprises for either one.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Of you him the message?
- 54:02Speaker 6: The chances is bringing it up Superman's parents message, and yes,
- 54:09Speaker 6: that that that was an interesting development into the lore
- 54:14Speaker 6: there we're talking about Superman's parents message and uh, that
- 54:21Speaker 6: was a different twist. That isn't some of the continuities
- 54:26Speaker 6: that's you know, some of they're good, some they're bad.
- 54:29Speaker 5: So I mean, take your pick. But I liked it
- 54:33Speaker 5: for the movie and they wrote it in a way
- 54:37Speaker 5: that they can easily say, oh, let's just was messing
- 54:40Speaker 5: with them, and right like, they don't they don't have
- 54:44Speaker 5: to keep.
- 54:45Speaker 3: It that way? Was there?
- 54:47Speaker 2: Speaking of surprise, you know at the end when the
- 54:50Speaker 2: when the robot asks him at the end, when the
- 54:54Speaker 2: robot asked him, do you want to see the video
- 54:55Speaker 2: of your parents? I know it suits you, And they
- 54:58Speaker 2: switched the videos and now he's watching videos of his
- 55:01Speaker 2: his his childhood. Yeah, it was fantastic because it went
- 55:08Speaker 2: back to what I was saying about he is who
- 55:11Speaker 2: he is because of this set of parents, not this
- 55:15Speaker 2: set of right, right.
- 55:18Speaker 5: Yeah, the whole nature versus nurture thing literally absolutely.
- 55:26Speaker 3: Yeah, But no, I loved it. I yeah. Was anybody
- 55:33Speaker 3: surprised at who Omni Man was Omni Man ultramant?
- 55:38Speaker 2: I was not.
- 55:39Speaker 6: I had I had a little bit of hope, hoping
- 55:41Speaker 6: it was going to be Cavil, just because I thought
- 55:43Speaker 6: that would be hilarious.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:47Speaker 5: I would have taken Brandon Routh to just another yep.
- 55:52Speaker 3: But I don't think there were any collective gasps in
- 55:55Speaker 3: the audience.
- 55:57Speaker 6: Everybody saw that going from a mile away there. But
- 56:00Speaker 6: it would have been funny if it was like Tom
- 56:02Speaker 6: Willing or oh.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it would have been Yeah, it's been great because
- 56:05Speaker 3: they didn't chow his face that much, so they definitely
- 56:07Speaker 3: right could have done that.
- 56:09Speaker 5: There's no way it could have been Tyler what's his name?
- 56:12Speaker 5: That Superman and Lewis?
- 56:15Speaker 3: Yeah, that guy who is who is one of my
- 56:19Speaker 3: favorite Superman actors?
- 56:20Speaker 5: Yeah, man, are we gonna eventually get Superman?
- 56:28Speaker 7: No way?
- 56:29Speaker 4: You don't think he's gonna come back as Bizarro?
- 56:33Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I think so. They left it open. They
- 56:36Speaker 5: left it.
- 56:36Speaker 3: Oh yeah, they definitely left it open. There were end
- 56:41Speaker 3: credit scenes, there were yeah, yeah, we got a little
- 56:46Speaker 3: sneak peak of Carra Zorrelka. Yeah, she kind of stumbled
- 56:53Speaker 3: in the mix. Yeah.
- 56:56Speaker 5: I read some reviews. People are like, I can't believe
- 56:58Speaker 5: they made Supergirl that way, and I'm like, you gotta
- 57:01Speaker 5: read that comic man.
- 57:02Speaker 3: You gotta read the comics. Yeah, because people get too Yeah,
- 57:05Speaker 3: people watch too much Smallville, they watch too much c
- 57:09Speaker 3: W Supergirl, and too much tow the Flash, and they
- 57:12Speaker 3: get they think they have an idea of what these
- 57:13Speaker 3: characters are, and these are c W takes, CBS takes,
- 57:18Speaker 3: Warner brother takes on these characters, and they have to
- 57:21Speaker 3: make these characters different because it's we've talked about it before,
- 57:24Speaker 3: series versus a movie. You know, in a series there's
- 57:26Speaker 3: a long story arc revolving a main villain, whereas in
- 57:31Speaker 3: a movie they have to introduce a villain or a
- 57:35Speaker 3: character or a superhero, have them have a story, and
- 57:38Speaker 3: then end the story or kill them all in one movie.
- 57:42Speaker 5: You know, I was thinking about, like, what other movies
- 57:45Speaker 5: I would love to see in this James Ben universe.
- 57:49Speaker 5: And there is an original pitch that was made like
- 57:53Speaker 5: twenty years ago at this point for a Green Lantern
- 57:56Speaker 5: film or a Green Arrow film I really want them
- 58:00Speaker 5: to do. It's called super Max, and the idea is
- 58:04Speaker 5: Green Arrow has been caught.
- 58:06Speaker 6: He was framed for a crime, and now he's in
- 58:09Speaker 6: a giant prison and it's filled with other like evil
- 58:13Speaker 6: you know, d n C list, uh, super villains.
- 58:17Speaker 4: It's full of Batman villains.
- 58:18Speaker 5: Right, and he's gotta he's gotta work with some of
- 58:23Speaker 5: them to break out and clear his name.
- 58:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I like it. Yeah, I like it.
- 58:32Speaker 3: But yeah, they have to make you know, I people
- 58:35Speaker 3: get so used to one character another, you know. The
- 58:38Speaker 3: Green Arrow is a good example of how they did
- 58:41Speaker 3: two very different takes on the character in Smallville and
- 58:44Speaker 3: an Arrow. I thought I thought Steven Emmel was a
- 58:49Speaker 3: better Arrow, but I but I thought that the other
- 58:53Speaker 3: guy in Smallville was a better Oliver Queen. Right, so, right,
- 58:58Speaker 3: A lot of these characters, they seem to a lot
- 59:00Speaker 3: of these characters are snarky, and they sometimes missed the snarkiness.
- 59:05Speaker 3: You know, Like the Flash, it's supposed to be kind
- 59:09Speaker 3: of a witty, one liner kind of character. He's supposed to,
- 59:13Speaker 3: you know, poke fun at people, and and that just
- 59:15Speaker 3: was not the case in the Flash. The television show,
- 59:19Speaker 3: you know, with the Green Arrow.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Well, Barry Allen wasn't really like that West.
- 59:26Speaker 3: Yeah, even Wally West in in in CW's a Flash
- 59:31Speaker 3: wasn't much of a no, there was.
- 59:35Speaker 4: There's a lot of things that they did.
- 59:38Speaker 2: There's a lot of things that came about in the
- 59:40Speaker 2: Flash Lord during the Wally West era that they've kind
- 59:43Speaker 2: of retconned into Barry Allen since bringing him back. Barry
- 59:49Speaker 2: Allen never had to eat a whole lot of food
- 59:52Speaker 2: for his metabolism to make his powers work. That was
- 59:56Speaker 2: a Wally West thing that they that they attributed to
- 59:59Speaker 2: Barry later on. The whole speed force thing that came up,
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: that that was created by Mark Wade when he was
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: in the middle of his Wally West run on Flash.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: But they've read conned that into a very thing. Well everybody, Yeah,
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: all speeds gets the speed Force. So half of half
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: of what you like about the Flash comes from a
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: different guy, right, and and the general public doesn't even
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: doesn't even know it.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Ye bring it back to Superman. It's obvious that James
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Gunn is a comic book fan. Oh, please obviously read
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: the comics, you know, and I haven't read all the
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: you know, I I I wasn't a comic book reader.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: I don't own a lot of comics, but I've I've
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: read up on the storylines, and i've I've I've read
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: a graphic novel novel or two.
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: But I mean, this thing is unapologetically a comic book,
- 1:00:51Speaker 5: absolutely through through things. They walk into a room and
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: there's metamorpho, no explanation, He's just there.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: I would go so far as to say this is
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: the very first comic book Superman movie. The other ones
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: were you know, Superman nineteen seventy eight wasn't a comic
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: book movie.
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: It was a Superman movie.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: He's the only character. He's the only story being told
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: is Superman's story. You know, Man of Steel, same thing.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: They then, you know, in the sequel they inserted Batman
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: and then the Kitchen, saying but but it sucked.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: It was it wasn't comic accurate. It was it was
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: so dark, it was it was garbage. This I think
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: this is the first actual Superman comic book movie.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: You know, there was an article that came out of it,
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: like a couple of weeks ago that was basically saying,
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: we are now finished with the golden age of superhero
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: movies and this is a silver age and that Superman
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: was gonna be the first silver age superhero movie, and
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: then maybe a Fantastic for would be the next one. Maybe,
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: But like now they realize, Okay, audience didn't get that.
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: It's goofy and it's a little bit weird and you
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: don't have to explain every little detail. Well.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: I read an article last week and James Gunn was
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: quoted as saying, there there are three things that never
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: need to be shown in a comic book. Okay, hell
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: l ship arriving on Earth, Jonathan and Martha kent uh are,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: I'm sorry, the Wayne's the waynes I'm sorry.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Yeah, the thing's being.
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: Killed in na keally.
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: Because everyone knows that happens, you have to m you
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: don't don't have to show it, right yep.
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: And then Peter Perker being bitten by the spider yep.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: Well, well it's getting that time, isn't it. Yeah?
- 1:03:23Speaker 6: Yeah, we should we should be uh there is, Yeah,
- 1:03:27Speaker 6: let's that. That's basically we'll we'll move on to listen
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: her feedback.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: So there you go.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: Guys, tell people that if they want to join join up,
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: how they should do that?
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, they can x up in the chat
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: and we'll send them the link. So go ahead and
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: ax up in the chat right now.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: That literally means it literally means this type an X
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: and put it in the chat and and Daniel will
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: send you a link the link.
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: Yes, do you want to read the phone number while
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: I get that going?
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, So if you want to leave a voicemail,
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: give us a call five seven zero six six one
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: zero zero zero one. That's five seven zero six six
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: one zero zero zero one. Operators are not standing by,
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: so it's just a voicemail. You just call in and
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: say hi or hey, or how you felt about the
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: latest episode or movie or whatever. We'll play it live
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: on air yep.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: And then we're also on social media all the main
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: ones trek cass, G, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram. So we're
- 1:04:33Speaker 5: there absolutely all right, let's get to listener feedback. You've
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: already exen up in the chat, so yeah, let's get.
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: There listener feedback.
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: I see my buddy Verbon is up there, yep, yep,
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: let me bring him in there he is.

- 1:05:25Speaker 9: Capital City Comic Con with our booth.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: Yeah. They got a really cool set up. They got
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: a captain's chair, they got sound effects, they got visual effects,
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: all kinds of stuff. So you guys, you guys do
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: some charity, some charity work too. Yeah, tell us a
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: little bit about that. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 1:05:43Speaker 9: We've got a three D print, little articulated aliens about
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: this big and they come in a little package. Just
- 1:05:50Speaker 9: got an adoption certificate. They've got some fruit snacks to
- 1:05:54Speaker 9: feed the alien and our card, our business card, and
- 1:05:58Speaker 9: we do a dollar for each alien, and we of
- 1:06:00Speaker 9: all of the land Great Lansing Food Bank, all the proceeds.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and every year we just.
- 1:06:10Speaker 4: Just so you know, Daniel and I also enjoyed fruit snacks.
- 1:06:16Speaker 3: Yeah, you do that. He enjoys fruit snacks. I did.
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: I adopted two aliens yesterday.
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: So nice.
- 1:06:25Speaker 5: Yeah, they're great.
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: We also at the end of the year we like
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: to do a a food and toy drive for toys
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: for tots and.
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: For the Great Lants and Food Bank. So all that
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: time comes.
- 1:06:37Speaker 9: You know, if you guys could put out the word
- 1:06:39Speaker 9: that would help us out a bunch.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, absolutely, we'd be happy to. We'd be happy to.
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: We had a good time yesterday hanging out with burn
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: h and everybody else. They got some They got some
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: pretty cool cosplay going on. It's really great uniforms. Uh,
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: they're they're they're doing some good work. Their booth is huge,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: a lot of interactive stuff. They were right next to
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Garrett Wang. He's a little set up to and uh,
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: Garrett Wong said he was gonna be helped me out
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: with that.
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: He's he's gonna be an honorary member of our ship.
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: So I'm working on getting through the paperwork right now
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: and he'll be an honorary member. It's great, be a
- 1:07:16Speaker 9: lot of fun.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: What rank are you going to give him?
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: So?
- 1:07:24Speaker 9: Well, Actually, there's there's five different ships in Michigan, and
- 1:07:29Speaker 9: people from three of the ships are Four of the ships,
- 1:07:31Speaker 9: including ours, are here today and the captain of the
- 1:07:34Speaker 9: Pataski out in Grand Rampags here and she's already gave it,
- 1:07:38Speaker 9: given him a rank of lieutenant junior grade.
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: Oh hey, that's my job.
- 1:07:45Speaker 9: I was gonna make I was gonna make him.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: I was gonna make them captain. But you know, for him,
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: he deserves it. You know, he's a great he's a
- 1:07:58Speaker 3: great person. I kind of looked into him a little bit.
- 1:08:00Speaker 9: He's got a he does a lot of work in
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: the community, and that's what we're about. Our motto is
- 1:08:05Speaker 9: not for self, but for better community. So that's why
- 1:08:08Speaker 9: we like to go out and do a lot of
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: this community work. And you know, we don't charge for
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: people to come sit in the chair. We like to
- 1:08:13Speaker 9: see people come in and their faces light up when
- 1:08:16Speaker 9: everything comes on and there's plays music. It plays eleven
- 1:08:20Speaker 9: different sounds. It's got five different led lights that come
- 1:08:23Speaker 9: on on it along with the council.
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, I posted a video myself in the in
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: the Facebook group. Yeah, they's got a little buttons you
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: can fire phasers and poton torpidos, go to red alert,
- 1:08:34Speaker 3: all that kind of stuff. So they did a really
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: good job of setting up that booth. And you know
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: there I always see him at the Grand Rapids Comic Con,
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: the Camesy Comic Con, so they're all over the place,
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: and like I said, they do some great some great
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: work and some charity stuff. So just a great group
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: of guys. And I really enjoyed hanging out with Ern
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: and the rest of the guys yesterday. So hope, hope
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: the rest of the comic con goes goes good for you.
- 1:08:58Speaker 9: Thanks.
- 1:09:00Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: We we used to ask us all the time, what's
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: the last episode to start trick you watched? Oh?
- 1:09:09Speaker 9: I just oh, I gotta think about it because my
- 1:09:12Speaker 9: son and I are going through Deep Space nine right now,
- 1:09:15Speaker 9: and there's a few episodes that I dislike, so I'm
- 1:09:20Speaker 9: talking to them. I'll be like, hey, man, let's just
- 1:09:23Speaker 9: skip this one because he gets four.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: So I got you.
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: I want to say it was episode twenty six of
- 1:09:33Speaker 9: season four, but I can't remember what it was called.
- 1:09:36Speaker 9: It was a few days ago and it's been a
- 1:09:38Speaker 9: long week.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right, we went through. So we've been through.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: We went through Boy nixt.
- 1:09:44Speaker 9: Generation of course, because that's my favorite, that's my absolute favorite.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: No one's gonna tell me.
- 1:09:51Speaker 9: But I'm really looking forward to the Stranger World's coming
- 1:09:54Speaker 9: out this next week, and I will say that I
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: would kick that magic ball right out of the door.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: I want to I want to see some time on
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: the Gorn.
- 1:10:08Speaker 9: That's something that I think they missed the boat on
- 1:10:10Speaker 9: in the original series.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, okay, yeah, yeah, it's just my opinion.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, great, all right, Well, thanks for being on.
- 1:10:21Speaker 3: Thank you so much, Thank you so much for having me.
- 1:10:23Speaker 3: And again, yeah, and I will definitely see you, if
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: not before then, I'll definitely see you in November at
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: the Grand Rapids Comic Con. Okay, we're going to be there.
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: Thanks slot all right, thanks Verne. So yeah, all right, and.
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: Then uh we also CHATSMI was waiting on the line,
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: so let's bring him on there he is, good morning, Hey,
- 1:10:47Speaker 5: good morning. Did you watch Superman?
- 1:10:50Speaker 10: Yes, I did, and I didn't realize because I did
- 1:10:53Speaker 10: the Tuesday okay, and usually there's about twenty five minutes
- 1:10:58Speaker 10: of previews. Yeah, and I was, you know, standing in
- 1:11:02Speaker 10: the line to get the popcorn bucket, so.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: They were out of popcorn buckets when I went. Really
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: reasons I'm that's one of the reasons I'm gonna go
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: see it today was gigantic.
- 1:11:13Speaker 5: When I went, I wasn't.
- 1:11:14Speaker 10: Theater and it was only what five minutes of previous Wow,
- 1:11:20Speaker 10: I had a half hour of mine.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:22Speaker 10: Well and that day for some reason, they only showed
- 1:11:26Speaker 10: five minutes of previews, so I missed the.
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: First ten there weren't there weren't many previews.
- 1:11:31Speaker 11: So yeah, but it was worth it.
- 1:11:38Speaker 10: I actually it's multi purpose. It's a dog ball. I
- 1:11:46Speaker 10: eat my cereal out of it, or and give it
- 1:11:48Speaker 10: to the dogs and then yeah, eat dog food out
- 1:11:51Speaker 10: of it.
- 1:11:52Speaker 5: So I saw that they were selling the crypto cakes
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: at like that's smart.
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: Oh really, yeah, merchandise.
- 1:12:06Speaker 5: There's a lot of cryptos on Instagram.
- 1:12:08Speaker 11: I'm sitting there thinking. I was like, I think you
- 1:12:10Speaker 11: guys need a trek cast dog bowl.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: I love it. I love it.
- 1:12:16Speaker 10: Yeah, all right, something you can use every day. Yeah,
- 1:12:22Speaker 10: especially if you have a dog. Now, if you don't
- 1:12:23Speaker 10: have a dog, well, if you have a dog, that'd
- 1:12:25Speaker 10: be kind of weird. But yeah, we know you have
- 1:12:28Speaker 10: a dog, so.
- 1:12:29Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 1:12:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: What do you are you excited for Strange the worlds?
- 1:12:34Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm excited.
- 1:12:35Speaker 10: I hope they just don't beat us over the head
- 1:12:38Speaker 10: with the Gorn. I want the gorn, but I don't
- 1:12:41Speaker 10: want it to be Gorn Gorn Gorn, so yeah, like some.
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: Star Trek mm hmmm, yeah, I like that.
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: The last caller was I want more Gorn. There's no guard.
- 1:12:56Speaker 10: Gorn, but I just don't want it, like all the time,
- 1:12:59Speaker 10: I don't.
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I'm one, you know what, you don't want to turn
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: into d S nine and the Dominion.
- 1:13:03Speaker 11: War that was actually good.
- 1:13:06Speaker 10: Voyager decided to do that with the Borg and that's
- 1:13:09Speaker 10: all they could figure out was at the end. So
- 1:13:14Speaker 10: let's let's make it a little Goren here and there
- 1:13:17Speaker 10: and we'll see some other strange New Worlds.
- 1:13:19Speaker 11: Please.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: You know what I'd really like to see again? I
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: would like to see uh Dwight Shrewd come back.
- 1:13:27Speaker 10: Yeah, because he's in the timeline that would like he
- 1:13:33Speaker 10: would work perfectly, and they need an episode of him,
- 1:13:45Speaker 10: and I have a feeling Sidebot could show up. I
- 1:13:49Speaker 10: don't know, because they did leave it as the teaser
- 1:13:51Speaker 10: what season one.
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: Right, Yeah at the cliff finger they could. I mean
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: whether or not they actually do, who knows, but so they.
- 1:14:02Speaker 11: Yeah, what day is Stans New World's releasing this week?
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: Thursday? Guys.
- 1:14:08Speaker 10: I'll stay up like Wednesday night watch it and then
- 1:14:12Speaker 10: I probably watch it again and then take notes.
- 1:14:16Speaker 11: Yeah, hopefully it's good.
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: You know. That's one of the reasons I'm gonna go
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: back to The Superman again is because, like my first
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: there are some things that just kind of went by
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: in a blur because I'm trying to catch every single
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: little time. I'm looking in the corner of the screen
- 1:14:28Speaker 3: looking to see what I can find, and I'm like, yeah,
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: you know, and then it's like, oh, did you I
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: just missed that line? What just happened? What you know?
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: So well, I'm just gonna go.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: And put the Superman, put the Superman tech back up
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: on the bottom.
- 1:14:41Speaker 11: Yeah, let me get that, Okay, Yeah, put the Superman the.
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: Spoilerler, boiler Alert Superman.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: So the whole scene at the Pocket Universe prison, there's
- 1:14:51Speaker 2: like hundreds of people in those cells.
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: I really couldn't make out who any of the other
- 1:14:57Speaker 2: people are. But I mean it's got to be chuck
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: full of Easter eggs, I'm sure, for sure.
- 1:15:04Speaker 10: For sure, ex girlfriends, monkeys on keyboards.
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: Hell yeah, everything I thought I saw chadd in there.
- 1:15:19Speaker 10: That's what Scott's at Dawson's house. And still there is
- 1:15:23Speaker 10: a cook Now that's right.
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: Yeah, good food.
- 1:15:32Speaker 11: Just raise your accomplice. She knocks on the door. Look
- 1:15:38Speaker 11: at this nice sweet lady. Here comes Chad.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: Can I dinner?
- 1:15:47Speaker 4: I guess.
- 1:15:50Speaker 11: Mister Terrific Okay, I I think he stole the show.
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: Oh for sure.
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: He was great. He was great.
- 1:15:59Speaker 11: He was the best character.
- 1:16:01Speaker 5: Do what he does, Like I get out of my way.
- 1:16:02Speaker 5: I'm mister truff.
- 1:16:07Speaker 11: Well they're looking at the building that's not lined up right.
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:11Speaker 10: I was like, that's so perfect because it's me and
- 1:16:14Speaker 10: my wife right now, like because we're moving and we're
- 1:16:16Speaker 10: just like looking at everything and.
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: Oh you're moving. Yeah, that's that's like one of the
- 1:16:22Speaker 3: most fun things a person can do.
- 1:16:24Speaker 11: Yes, it's one of the most miserable things in life,
- 1:16:27Speaker 11: is moving.
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: All right?
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I like mister terrifics balls, yes, yes, yes.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: All right. So thanks for listening to try.
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: Anyway.
