  Speaker 1: and it's time right now for today's word. Don't let

  Speaker 1: their darkness change your light. Romans 12 and 21 says,

  Speaker 1: don't let evil get the best of you. Get the

  Speaker 1: best of evil by doing good. Have you ever had
• 0:21
  Speaker 1: somebody treat you so badly that you wanted to give
• 0:24
  Speaker 1: them exactly what they gave you? They talked about you
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: and you wanted to talk about them. They disrespected you
• 0:30
  Speaker 1: and everything in you wanted to disrespect them right back.

  Speaker 1: They tried to hurt you and you thought, I'll show them.
• 0:37
  Speaker 1: But Romans 12, 21 gives us a different strategy. Don't

  Speaker 1: let evil get the best of you. Get the best
• 0:43
  Speaker 1: of evil by... doing good because here's the truth some
• 0:48
  Speaker 1: battles are not about what someone did to you they're
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: about who you're going to become because of what they
• 0:54
  Speaker 1: did to you When someone mistreats you, you've got a choice.

  Speaker 1: You can come down to their level or you can
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: go higher. And going higher isn't always easy. Ask me

  Speaker 1: how I know. See, sometimes the high road is quiet
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: when you have every reason to respond. Sometimes it means
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: walking away. Sometimes it means refusing to participate in gossip.

  Speaker 1: Sometimes it means praying when you would rather retaliate. Sometimes

  Speaker 1: it means keeping your heart clean when someone else is
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: determined to make it dirty. But that's called character, y'all.

  Speaker 1: You've got to understand that everybody who comes against you
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: doesn't deserve access to your peace. And everybody who criticizes

  Speaker 1: you doesn't deserve a response. Don't allow somebody else's bad

  Speaker 1: behavior to pull you out of character and distract you

  Speaker 1: from what God has placed in your heart. You've got
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: a destiny to fulfill. So when opposition comes, don't you
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: dare shrink or stretch. No, when challenges come, don't you retreat.

  Speaker 1: You choose to grow. When negative voices get loud, don't

  Speaker 1: you dare surrender. You choose to pray. When somebody tries

  Speaker 1: to convince you that you can't, let their doubt become
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: another reason to trust God more deeply and do it anyway.

  Speaker 1: Because sometimes the very pressure that was meant to break

  Speaker 1: you becomes the pressure that builds you. The good breaks

  Speaker 1: aren't always what it takes you to another level. Sometimes

  Speaker 1: it's the difficult seasons. Sometimes it's the closed doors. Sometimes

  Speaker 1: it's the person who underestimated you. Sometimes it's the obstacles
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: that force you to discover strengths you didn't know you had.

  Speaker 1: So make up your mind today. I'm not shrinking back.

  Speaker 1: I'm not shrinking. going to be talked out of my dreams.

  Speaker 1: I will not allow bitterness to become my identity. I'm

  Speaker 1: not going to settle for mediocrity. I'm going to stand stronger,

  Speaker 1: believe bigger, pray bolder, and keep moving forward. So you

  Speaker 1: don't have to repay evil for evil. Let God handle
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: the battle while you handle your character. And when you
• 2:51
  Speaker 1: continue to do good in the face of evil, you
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: prove that what you did, what they did may have
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: hurt you. but it didn't defeat you. Come on, Jesus. Father,

  Speaker 1: thank you that Jesus overcame evil with good and showed
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: us how to walk in love, strength, and obedience. Help
• 3:09
  Speaker 1: us to refuse the temptation to retaliate, become bitter, or
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: respond out of anger. Oh, God, give us the wisdom
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: to know when to speak and when to walk away.
• 3:18
  Speaker 1: Guard our hearts and keep us focused on our purpose.
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: When opposition comes, God, help us to turn pressure into power,
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: challenges into growth and setbacks into into opportunities to trust
• 3:29
  Speaker 1: you more. God, we're not going to shrink back. We're
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: going to stand stronger. We're going to believe bigger. We're
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: going to pray bolder and keep doing good in Jesus' name. Hey, now,

  Speaker 1: that's your word for today. Take it, apply it to
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: your everyday life, and you continue to be encouraged and inspired.
