- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
- 0:07Speaker 1: where we left off with the Jess Daly transcript from
- 0:11Speaker 1: his trip to Congress. Question, in the second email of
- 0:14Speaker 1: the chain, you tell Mr. Epstein that you'll be in
- 0:17Speaker 1: London that week. Mr. Epstein responds, quote, do you need
- 0:21Speaker 1: anything there? And you reply, quote, yep. Sullivan, this is
- 0:25Speaker 1: one document, right? One page? Redacted, correct. It's one page. Question,
- 0:31Speaker 1: what did you understand, Mr. Epstein? To mean by quote,
- 0:34Speaker 1: do you need anything there? Answer, I don't recall. I mean,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I go to London a lot on business. He was
- 0:40Speaker 1: very connected in London, but I don't know specifically. I
- 0:43Speaker 1: don't recall specifically what it was in 2009. Question, it
- 0:49Speaker 1: does appear that he's offering you something though, correct? Answer,
- 0:52Speaker 1: I think he's just asking if I needed anything there. Question,
- 0:56Speaker 1: so offering you something. In replying quote, yup. you were
- 1:00Speaker 1: affirming that you did need whatever Mr. Epstein was offering, correct? Answer,
- 1:05Speaker 1: I don't know what he was offering. Question, sure. But
- 1:08Speaker 1: he's sending you an email asking you a question, quote,
- 1:11Speaker 1: do you need anything there? And you respond, quote, yup.
- 1:15Speaker 1: So regardless of what he was offering, you're indicating that
- 1:18Speaker 1: you do, in fact, need that thing. Answer, yeah. He
- 1:21Speaker 1: used to set up business with people from the treasury,
- 1:24Speaker 1: people from the royal family, lots of things he used
- 1:26Speaker 1: to set up. Question, But are you indicating that you,
- 1:30Speaker 1: in fact, need that thing? You're responding, quote, yup. Answer, yeah. Question.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I would like to introduce as Minority Exhibit B an
- 1:39Speaker 1: email from Mr. Epstein to a redacted individual dated September 2, 2009,
- 1:46Speaker 1: just three days after you responded to Mr. Epstein's email with, quote, yup.
- 1:51Speaker 1: The Bates number is EFTA 00883896. Question. In the email, Mr.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Epstein says, quote, Jess Daly is staying at the Berkeley
- 2:03Speaker 1: Hotel in London tonight. I can represent to you, based
- 2:06Speaker 1: on in-camera review of the unredacted version of this document,
- 2:10Speaker 1: that this individual is a young woman from Eastern Europe.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Did you ask Mr. Epstein to email this young woman
- 2:17Speaker 1: your hotel information? Answer, where do you know that's a
- 2:21Speaker 1: young woman from? Question, excuse me? I didn't quite catch that. Answer,
- 2:26Speaker 1: where do you know that that's a young woman from? Question,
- 2:30Speaker 1: based on the in-camera review of the unredacted version of
- 2:33Speaker 1: this document? Staley asked the question again. Question, did you
- 2:38Speaker 1: ask Mr. Epstein to email this young woman your hotel information? Answer, no. Question,
- 2:43Speaker 1: did Mr. Epstein tell you that he was emailing this
- 2:46Speaker 1: young woman your hotel information? Answer, no. Question, is that
- 2:51Speaker 1: something that you had done previously? Answer, no. Question, why
- 2:55Speaker 1: do you think that Mr. Epstein shared your hotel information
- 2:58Speaker 1: with this young woman? Answer, I don't know. Question, was
- 3:01Speaker 1: it because Mr. Epstein was instructing this young woman to
- 3:05Speaker 1: go to your hotel and have sex with you? Answer, no,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, you don't know or no? Answer, no,
- 3:13Speaker 1: I mean I did not have an encounter with a
- 3:15Speaker 1: young woman in a hotel. Question, but your answer to
- 3:21Speaker 1: my question, was it because Mr. Epstein was instructing this
- 3:23Speaker 1: young woman to go to your hotel and have sex
- 3:26Speaker 1: with you? Is your answer no? Answer, No. Question or
- 3:30Speaker 1: I don't know. Answer, no. Question, how would you know
- 3:34Speaker 1: that Mr. Epstein gets cut off by Jess Daly? Can
- 3:39Speaker 1: you ask the question again? I'm sorry. Question, I asked
- 3:42Speaker 1: you why you thought that Mr. Epstein shared your hotel
- 3:45Speaker 1: information with this young woman. I believe that you said
- 3:48Speaker 1: you didn't know. Then I asked you, was it because Mr.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Epstein was instructing this young woman to go to your
- 3:53Speaker 1: hotel and have sex with you? Answer, I don't know. Question,
- 3:57Speaker 1: did Mr. Epstein otherwise introduce you to young women from
- 4:01Speaker 1: Eastern Europe when you were in London? Answer, no. Question, never. Answer, no. Question,
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce Minority Exhibit C, an email exchange
- 4:12Speaker 1: between Mr. Epstein and Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor from June 14, 2010.
- 4:16Speaker 1: The bait's number is EFTA 01812700. Question in the first
- 4:26Speaker 1: email of the chain, Mr. Epstein says, quote, this is
- 4:29Speaker 1: at the very bottom. He says, quote, if you can
- 4:32Speaker 1: find time to show Jess around with Redacted, that would
- 4:35Speaker 1: be fun. He told me he ran into you tonight. Mr.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Mountbatten-Windsor confirms that the two of you saw each other.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Then ask Mr. Epstein who Redacted is. Mr. Epstein responds, quote,
- 4:47Speaker 1: a great friend of mine, very pretty. She is my
- 4:50Speaker 1: future ex-wife. I know Jess and she would love to
- 4:53Speaker 1: see home. The next day, June 15th, Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor complains
- 4:58Speaker 1: to Epstein that the woman did not respond to his
- 5:01Speaker 1: email and notes that he's having dinner with you the
- 5:03Speaker 1: following evening. Mr. Epstein replies by giving Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor the
- 5:08Speaker 1: woman's phone number and telling him she is expecting his call.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I can represent to you, based on the in-camera review
- 5:16Speaker 1: of the unredacted version of this document, that the person Mr.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Epstein calls his future ex-wife is another young woman from
- 5:23Speaker 1: Eastern Europe A different young woman than the one we
- 5:26Speaker 1: just discussed. Did you meet this woman? Answer, no. Question,
- 5:31Speaker 1: did Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor show you around London? This was in
- 5:35Speaker 1: June of 2010. Answer, around London, no. Question, did Mr.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Mountbatten-Windsor give you a tour of his home? Answer, I
- 5:42Speaker 1: visited the palace. I thought it was just by myself.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I didn't recall him joining or being there. Question, do
- 5:49Speaker 1: you remember when you visited the palace? Answer, no, not exactly, no. Question,
- 5:55Speaker 1: do you have a year? Answer, no, but I know
- 5:57Speaker 1: I went once. Question, and that's Buckingham Palace, right? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and your recollection? Is that you visited, but you weren't
- 6:05Speaker 1: with Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor? Answer, that's my recollection. Because my recollection is,
- 6:12Speaker 1: I went by taxi, and I just, I just recall
- 6:14Speaker 1: it because the taxi driver was quite taken aback that
- 6:17Speaker 1: he was going into Buckingham Palace. Question, so your recollection?
- 6:21Speaker 1: is that you weren't with Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor when you toured
- 6:24Speaker 1: Buckingham Palace, and he did not otherwise show you around London. Answer,
- 6:29Speaker 1: that's correct. Question, and the two of you, or you rather,
- 6:33Speaker 1: for either one of those activities, you were not joined
- 6:36Speaker 1: by a young woman from Eastern Europe? Answer, that's correct. Question,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit D, an email. Staley,
- 6:44Speaker 1: can I make one clarification? Answer, sure. Question, years later,
- 6:48Speaker 1: when I was working in London... I went to the
- 6:50Speaker 1: palace on a couple of occasions. Question, and that is
- 6:53Speaker 1: separate from the tour that you also recollect? Answer, yeah. Question,
- 6:58Speaker 1: because those visits were not a tour? Answer, they were
- 7:02Speaker 1: professional visits to the palace in my role with Barclays. Question,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and when you say years later, when was that? Answer, well,
- 7:10Speaker 1: that would have been from 2015 to 2021. Question, so
- 7:14Speaker 1: the tour that you remember would have been some point
- 7:17Speaker 1: between 2015? Answer, yeah. Question, I'd like to introduce as
- 7:22Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit D, an email chain between you and Mr.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Epstein from the following day, June 16th, 2010. Bates number
- 7:30Speaker 1: is EFTA 01300635. Question, in the first email you write, quote,
- 7:38Speaker 1: is she free tonight? To which Mr. Epstein responds, just
- 7:41Speaker 1: two minutes later, quote, call me. Who is she? Answer,
- 7:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, could it be the same woman
- 7:48Speaker 1: from Eastern Europe? who Mr. Epstein and Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor were
- 7:52Speaker 1: emailing about earlier? Answer, I don't know. Question, why would
- 7:56Speaker 1: you be asking Mr. Epstein if a woman was free?
- 7:59Speaker 1: Answer again, I don't recall this email. Question, I understand
- 8:03Speaker 1: you don't recall the email, but why would you ask Mr.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Epstein if a woman was free? Answer, I'm not going
- 8:08Speaker 1: to speculate. Question, did you call Mr. Epstein in response
- 8:12Speaker 1: to the email? Answer, I don't recall. Question, would you
- 8:15Speaker 1: have typically called Mr. Epstein when he asked you to
- 8:17Speaker 1: call him? Answer, yeah. Question, so you might have. Answer,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I might have. But this is 16 years ago. Question,
- 8:25Speaker 1: a few hours later, you respond with A. Is A
- 8:28Speaker 1: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor? Answer, seems like it. Question, what did you
- 8:33Speaker 1: have to do with the previous conversation that you were
- 8:35Speaker 1: having with Mr. Epstein? Answer, I don't know. Question, because
- 8:40Speaker 1: you asked Mr. Epstein if a woman was free. He says,
- 8:42Speaker 1: call me. And then later you say, I'm with A.
- 8:46Speaker 1: So it would seem like those two things are connected, right? Answer,
- 8:50Speaker 1: I don't know. Question, were the two of you having dinner,
- 8:53Speaker 1: as Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor had noted, for Mr. Epstein the day prior? Answer,
- 8:58Speaker 1: it seems like it. Question, do you remember that dinner? Answer, no. Question,
- 9:03Speaker 1: do you remember having dinners with Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor generally? Answer, no. Question,
- 9:08Speaker 1: you don't have any recollection of any dinner with Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor? Answer,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I don't think I had dinners with Prince Andrew. Question,
- 9:17Speaker 1: so when... Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor tells Mr. Epstein that the two
- 9:21Speaker 1: of you are having dinner together. He's wrong? Answer, no. Question,
- 9:26Speaker 1: you just don't remember. Answer, that's correct. Question, do you
- 9:31Speaker 1: remember if you were ever joined by any young woman
- 9:34Speaker 1: from Eastern Europe? Answer, no. Question, based on these documents,
- 9:38Speaker 1: it looks like Mr. Epstein introduced a young woman from
- 9:41Speaker 1: Eastern Europe to you and Mr. Mountbatten-Windsor. Your testimony today
- 9:46Speaker 1: is that you don't remember if that happened, correct? Answer, correct. Question,
- 9:51Speaker 1: but it could have. Answer, I don't remember. Question, I'd
- 9:54Speaker 1: like to discuss a series of emails that you were
- 9:57Speaker 1: asked about in the prior round. You know, you've answered
- 10:00Speaker 1: some questions about these, but I have some follow-up questions
- 10:02Speaker 1: for you. I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit E,
- 10:06Speaker 1: an email chain between you and Mr. Epstein from July 9th, 2010.
- 10:10Speaker 1: The Bates number is EFTA00894090. Question, In the first email,
- 10:20Speaker 1: you write to Mr. Epstein, quote, that was fun. Say
- 10:23Speaker 1: hi to Snow White. Mr. Epstein responds, quote, what character
- 10:27Speaker 1: would you like next? To which you reply, quote, Beauty
- 10:30Speaker 1: and the Beast. Mr. Epstein then says, quote, well, one
- 10:34Speaker 1: side is available. You said in the prior round that
- 10:37Speaker 1: you have no idea who this person is, specifically who
- 10:41Speaker 1: Snow White is. Is that correct? Answer, that's correct. Question
- 10:45Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit F. An email
- 10:48Speaker 1: from the next day, July 10th, 2010. The Bates number
- 10:53Speaker 1: is EFTA 007-41531. Question. The email is from a redacted
- 11:00Speaker 1: individual to Mr. Epstein saying, quote, the Snow White was
- 11:03Speaker 1: fucked twice as soon as she put her costume on.
- 11:07Speaker 1: To be clear, the word is spelled F dot dot
- 11:10Speaker 1: dot E-D, but we understand it to mean fucked. Mr. Staley.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Was the Snow White who you referred to in the
- 11:18Speaker 1: email the day before a young woman in a Snow
- 11:21Speaker 1: White costume that Mr. Epstein arranged for you to have
- 11:24Speaker 1: sex with? Answer again. I don't recall the Snow White individual,
- 11:28Speaker 1: so the answer would be no. Question. Did you ever
- 11:31Speaker 1: have sex with a young woman in a Snow White costume? Answer. No,
- 11:35Speaker 1: I did not. Question. Never. Answer. Never. Question. Why would
- 11:40Speaker 1: this young woman have sent this email to Mr. Epstein
- 11:43Speaker 1: if the two of you had not had sex while
- 11:46Speaker 1: she was wearing a Snow White costume, and if Mr.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Epstein had not instructed her to do so? Answer, I
- 11:52Speaker 1: have no idea who else she was with. It has
- 11:55Speaker 1: nothing to do with me, though. Question, but you sent
- 11:57Speaker 1: an email to Mr. Epstein on July 9th. Answer, as
- 12:01Speaker 1: I said, I may have. This is in his apartment.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I may have seen her in the apartment and prompted
- 12:06Speaker 1: that email, but I would not. But I was not
- 12:09Speaker 1: with a person dressed as Snow White outside of potentially
- 12:12Speaker 1: crossing at his apartment. Question, so you may have seen
- 12:15Speaker 1: her in his apartment, later emailed Mr. Epstein and said,
- 12:19Speaker 1: that was fun, but it was not because you had
- 12:21Speaker 1: sex with her? Answer, that's correct. Question, why would you
- 12:25Speaker 1: have asked Mr. Epstein to say hi to her then? Answer, maybe, I,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you know, again, I probably crossed her in his apartment,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I don't know, just to say hi. Question, and then
- 12:36Speaker 1: she emails him the next day saying, quote, the Snow
- 12:38Speaker 1: White was fucked twice as soon as she put on
- 12:41Speaker 1: the costumes. Would you agree that that's a pretty incredible
- 12:44Speaker 1: coincidence that you email him on July 9th saying that
- 12:48Speaker 1: was fun? Say hi to Snow White. And then she
- 12:51Speaker 1: emails him the next day reporting back on something that
- 12:54Speaker 1: just didn't have anything to do with you. Answer. Sure.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Why not? Question. That's pretty hard to believe. His lawyer
- 13:02Speaker 1: jumps in. That's not a question. All right, folks, we're
- 13:06Speaker 1: going to wrap up right here. And in the next
- 13:08Speaker 1: episode dealing with the topic, we're going to pick up
- 13:10Speaker 1: where we left off. All the information that goes with
- 13:13Speaker 1: this episode can be found in the description box. What's
- 13:17Speaker 1: up everyone and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles.
- 13:22Speaker 1: In this episode, we're going to pick up where we
- 13:24Speaker 1: left off with Jeff Staley and his trip to Congress.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Question I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit G, an
- 13:33Speaker 1: email chain between Epstein and a redacted person dated June 20th, 2010.
- 13:39Speaker 1: about two and a half weeks before you sent the
- 13:41Speaker 1: email to Mr. Epstein telling him to say hi to
- 13:43Speaker 1: Snow White. The date's number is EFTA 00735698. In the
- 13:51Speaker 1: email chain, Mr. Epstein says, quote, I would love to
- 13:54Speaker 1: take photos of you in a Snow White costume. You
- 13:56Speaker 1: can get it from the costume store. I can represent
- 13:59Speaker 1: to you based on in-camera review. of the unredacted version
- 14:03Speaker 1: of this document that the individual is the same individual
- 14:07Speaker 1: who sent the email to Mr. Epstein about Snow White.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Lawyer for Jess Daly jumps in. Excuse me. Forgive me.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I'm confused. I think I've lost track, but I think
- 14:16Speaker 1: you said something that does not appear on the document.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Is that right? Could you start again? It's only my confusion.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I just didn't follow the question. Question. Question. If you
- 14:28Speaker 1: look at the first line of the email, Mr. Epstein
- 14:30Speaker 1: is referring to a big movie, Snow White. And then
- 14:33Speaker 1: he says, quote, I would love to take photos of
- 14:35Speaker 1: you in a Snow White costume. You can get it
- 14:38Speaker 1: from the costume store. Question. And I can represent to
- 14:43Speaker 1: you that Mr. Epstein is sending that email to the
- 14:45Speaker 1: same woman who sent the email to him saying that
- 14:48Speaker 1: Snow White was fucked. It appears looking at all these
- 14:51Speaker 1: emails together that Mr. Epstein told this young woman to
- 14:54Speaker 1: buy a Snow White costume. and then instructed her to
- 14:57Speaker 1: have sex with you while wearing it. Your testimony today
- 15:01Speaker 1: is that didn't happen, correct? Answer, where is he? Where
- 15:04Speaker 1: is he instructing her to have sex with me? Question,
- 15:07Speaker 1: I said it appears. Taking these emails together, that is
- 15:11Speaker 1: what is happening here. He sends this woman an email
- 15:14Speaker 1: on June 20th, which is about two and a half
- 15:17Speaker 1: weeks before you send the email to him saying say
- 15:20Speaker 1: hi to Snow White, which is one day before she
- 15:23Speaker 1: sends the email to him saying that Snow White, was
- 15:26Speaker 1: fucked twice. Mr. Sullivan, what's the question? Question, taken together
- 15:31Speaker 1: based on those emails, it appears that Mr. Epstein told
- 15:34Speaker 1: this young woman to buy a Snow White costume and
- 15:37Speaker 1: then instructed her to have sex with you while wearing it. Staley,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I think that's speculation on your part. Question, your testimony
- 15:45Speaker 1: is that is not what happened? Answer, that's my testimony. Question, Mr. Staley,
- 15:50Speaker 1: you've previously stated that you only had sex with one
- 15:53Speaker 1: woman connected to Mr. Epstein. Answer, is that correct? Answer,
- 15:57Speaker 1: that's correct. Question, would you like to correct that statement? Answer, no. Question,
- 16:02Speaker 1: you previously testified that between July 2009 and the end
- 16:07Speaker 1: of 2012, you went to Mr. Epstein's apartment in New
- 16:10Speaker 1: York approximately 40 times or about once a month. Is
- 16:13Speaker 1: that correct? Answer, yes. Question, when you visited Mr. Epstein's
- 16:17Speaker 1: New York home, did you see girls or young women
- 16:20Speaker 1: in the room when you would meet with Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 16:24Speaker 1: were there ever girls or young women sitting on his
- 16:26Speaker 1: lap when you would talk to Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 16:30Speaker 1: when you visited Mr. Epstein's New York home, did you
- 16:33Speaker 1: ever go to the massage room? Answer, no. Question, you
- 16:37Speaker 1: testified previously that you did see the room though, correct? Answer, yes. Question,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and you said that was part of your tour that
- 16:44Speaker 1: you took of the home? Answer, yes. Question, so you
- 16:47Speaker 1: saw the room, but you didn't walk in it? Answer, yes. Question,
- 16:52Speaker 1: what did you see in the massage room? Answer. Again,
- 16:54Speaker 1: I just saw like it was a dark wall, but
- 16:57Speaker 1: I didn't really see anything in that room. Question. Where
- 16:59Speaker 1: was the massage table? Answer. I don't recall. Question. Was
- 17:03Speaker 1: there a basket of vibrators? Answer. I didn't see that. Question.
- 17:08Speaker 1: You previously said that you did not receive a massage
- 17:11Speaker 1: in the massage room. Is that correct? Answer. That's correct. Question.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Did Mr. Epstein ever arrange massages for you anywhere else? Answer. No,
- 17:19Speaker 1: he did not. Question. How many allegations of sexual abuse
- 17:23Speaker 1: have been made against you? Answer. I think in the
- 17:25Speaker 1: lawsuit against JP Morgan, there was one allegation. It was never.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It was never filed with me. Question. So the allegation
- 17:33Speaker 1: is the only one you're aware of? Answer. Yes. Question.
- 17:37Speaker 1: How many women have you settled sexual abuse claims with
- 17:40Speaker 1: or otherwise entered into NDAs with? Answer. None. Question. Did
- 17:44Speaker 1: you ever make payments to women that you had sexual
- 17:47Speaker 1: relationships with? Answer. No. Question, have you ever paid or
- 17:51Speaker 1: attempted to pay a minor girl for sex? Answer, no. Question,
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'd like to introduce as Minority Exhibit H a memorandum
- 18:00Speaker 1: to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New
- 18:02Speaker 1: York from Assistant U.S. Attorneys dated December 19, 2019. Bates
- 18:08Speaker 1: number is EFTA 02731082. Question, the document we're handing you
- 18:16Speaker 1: is an excerpt of a larger document. we have marked
- 18:19Speaker 1: the relevant paragraph for you. Question. The memorandum describes law
- 18:24Speaker 1: enforcement's October 24th, 2019 interview with a survivor who Mr.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Epstein started sexually abusing when she was about 20. As
- 18:33Speaker 1: detailed in the memorandum, the survivor told law enforcement that Mr.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Epstein instructed her to quote, provide a massage to Jess
- 18:40Speaker 1: Daly in Epstein's New York residence. The memorandum says that quote,
- 18:45Speaker 1: redacted attempted to give him an ordinary massage but he
- 18:48Speaker 1: forced Redacted to touch his genitals and then rape Redacted. Afterwards,
- 18:53Speaker 1: Redacted complained to Epstein, who said he left it to
- 18:57Speaker 1: Redacted and Staley to decide whether to engage in sex.
- 19:01Speaker 1: These were the allegations that you were referring to previously, correct?
- 19:05Speaker 1: Or these are different allegations? Sullivan, he can't answer that
- 19:09Speaker 1: because it would require knowledge from counsel, but it's the
- 19:12Speaker 1: same woman that testified in the JP Morgan case that
- 19:15Speaker 1: made a complaint to the New York U.S. Attorney which
- 19:17Speaker 1: was found not credible. Question, did you ever force the
- 19:21Speaker 1: woman to touch her genitals in the context of a massage? Answer, no. Question,
- 19:26Speaker 1: did you ever sexually abuse, assault, or rape a woman
- 19:29Speaker 1: in the context of a massage? Answer, no. Question, were
- 19:33Speaker 1: you ever violent with a woman in the context of
- 19:35Speaker 1: a massage? Answer, no. Question, I'd like to introduce as
- 19:39Speaker 1: Minority Exhibit 1 an opinion in the class action that
- 19:43Speaker 1: survivors of Mr. Epstein's abuse brought against J.P. Morgan. Question
- 19:48Speaker 1: the document we're handing you is an excerpt of a
- 19:50Speaker 1: larger document. On page 7, the second full paragraph reads, quote,
- 19:55Speaker 1: Plaintiff alleged that Mr. Staley had first-hand knowledge of Jeffrey
- 19:58Speaker 1: Epstein's sex trafficking operation. Mr. Staley is alleged to have
- 20:03Speaker 1: visited Epstein's residences several times while that operation was ongoing,
- 20:08Speaker 1: and during these visits, observed JPM Jane Doe as a
- 20:12Speaker 1: sexual trafficking and abuse victim. On page 8, the first
- 20:16Speaker 1: full paragraph reads, quote, Plaintiff further alleged that Mr. Staley
- 20:20Speaker 1: himself abused some of Epstein's victims, including JPM Jane Doe herself.
- 20:25Speaker 1: JPM Jane Doe claims that one of Mr. Epstein's friends,
- 20:29Speaker 1: whom she later identified as Mr. Staley, used aggressive force
- 20:32Speaker 1: in his sexual assault of her, and informed JPM Jane
- 20:35Speaker 1: Doe that Epstein's permission to do what he wanted to
- 20:39Speaker 1: do to her. Did you sexually abuse and assault girls
- 20:42Speaker 1: or women that you met through Mr. Epstein? Answer, no. Question,
- 20:47Speaker 1: did you ever tell a girl or a woman who Mr.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Epstein abused or trafficked that you had Mr. Epstein's permission to, quote,
- 20:53Speaker 1: do what you wanted with her? Answer, no. Question, Mr. Staley,
- 20:58Speaker 1: we have credible information that you have aggressively, even violently
- 21:01Speaker 1: sexually assaulted multiple women connected to Mr. Epstein. We are
- 21:05Speaker 1: concerned that you are not being truthful in your answers.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Are there any statements that you have made today that
- 21:11Speaker 1: you would like to correct for the record? Answer no.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Question with that? We'll pause and go to members for questions. Ms. Ansari,
- 21:21Speaker 1: as you know, while he was in jail at the
- 21:23Speaker 1: Palm Beach Stockade, Mr. Epstein was allowed to leave the
- 21:26Speaker 1: stockade for 12 hours a day, six days a week,
- 21:29Speaker 1: ostensibly to work for his organization, the Florida Science Foundation,
- 21:33Speaker 1: as part of the work release that he secured. Were
- 21:36Speaker 1: you aware at the time that Mr. Epstein established the
- 21:39Speaker 1: Florida Science Foundation, in November of 2007, just months after
- 21:43Speaker 1: he pleaded guilty, and that he dissolved it soon after
- 21:47Speaker 1: his sentence was completed? Staley, no. I know he used
- 21:50Speaker 1: an office building on work release when he was in
- 21:53Speaker 1: jail in Florida, but I didn't know how he constructed
- 21:57Speaker 1: it and whatnot. Question, so you weren't aware of the
- 22:00Speaker 1: details of the foundation that was created. When did you
- 22:03Speaker 1: become aware of the timeline and terms of the office
- 22:05Speaker 1: that he used? Answer, I think he told me that
- 22:09Speaker 1: he was on work release, so I traveled a lot,
- 22:12Speaker 1: and one time we found a date where he was
- 22:14Speaker 1: on work release, and I could visit him in the
- 22:17Speaker 1: office building. Question, so to be clear, were you aware
- 22:21Speaker 1: that there was a Florida Science Foundation? Answer, no, I
- 22:24Speaker 1: was not. Question, you were never aware of that. Answer,
- 22:28Speaker 1: that there was a Florida Science Foundation? No. Question, yes,
- 22:32Speaker 1: that is the organization he created. You were not aware
- 22:35Speaker 1: of it? Okay, regardless of that, Did you have any
- 22:38Speaker 1: concerns about the fact that he was able to get
- 22:41Speaker 1: work release and go to an office for that many
- 22:43Speaker 1: hours a day? Answer, no. Question, are you aware now
- 22:48Speaker 1: that some survivors have stated that Mr. Epstein abused them
- 22:51Speaker 1: at the Florida Science Foundation offices? Staley, no. Question, are
- 22:55Speaker 1: you aware that some of the women were hired as
- 22:58Speaker 1: Florida Science Foundation staff? Answer, no. Question, so to this day,
- 23:03Speaker 1: you have never heard that, even though there's been public testimony? Staley, no.
- 23:08Speaker 1: And sorry, okay. One of the women told this committee that, quote,
- 23:11Speaker 1: Jeffrey offered me a position at the Florida Science Foundation
- 23:14Speaker 1: to handle phone calls to help with my financial troubles.
- 23:18Speaker 1: One day, a masseuse called me into the room where
- 23:21Speaker 1: I was molested by Epstein. For the following three years,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I was subject to ongoing rape and stripped of my dignity.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein was under house arrest for the molestation of
- 23:31Speaker 1: underage girls at the exact time that he was abusing me. Mr. Staley.
- 23:36Speaker 1: You visited Mr. Epstein while he was on work release
- 23:39Speaker 1: in Florida. Is that correct? Staley, once. Ansari, once. Why
- 23:44Speaker 1: did you visit him there? Answer, he was in jail
- 23:48Speaker 1: and serving time for his offense that he pleaded to.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I had known him for a number of years and
- 23:52Speaker 1: I decided I should go visit him and I did. Question,
- 23:55Speaker 1: so it was a friendly visit? Staley, yeah, I mean
- 23:58Speaker 1: it was. Question, do you recall how long you were there? Answer,
- 24:02Speaker 1: there was a sheriff there and it lasted, I think
- 24:04Speaker 1: it was four. Gets cut off by Ansari at the
- 24:07Speaker 1: office or the jail. Staley at the office. Ansari, okay.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Staley and I was there for less than an hour. Question.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Did you participate in sexual abuse of any women at
- 24:18Speaker 1: the Florida Science Foundation office? Answer, no. And again, there
- 24:23Speaker 1: was a police officer there while I was there. Ansari,
- 24:26Speaker 1: and you were aware that Mr. Epstein was sexually abusing
- 24:29Speaker 1: women at those offices? Staley, no. It seemed incredible to
- 24:33Speaker 1: me that if he's in jail for offenses, that he
- 24:36Speaker 1: would do something like that. And sorry, okay, that's my questions.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Thank you. All right, we're going to wrap up right there.
- 24:43Speaker 1: And in the next episode, dealing with the topic, we're
- 24:45Speaker 1: going to pick up with Ms. Stansberry. All the information
- 24:48Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
- 24:51Speaker 1: description box. What's up, everyone? And welcome to another episode
- 24:55Speaker 1: of the Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to
- 24:59Speaker 1: get right back to the Jess Daly story. Transcript from
- 25:02Speaker 1: his trip to Congress. Now we're picking up with Ms.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Stansberry asking the questions. Question. One quick follow-up on Representative
- 25:12Speaker 1: Ansari's questions. You visited the office of the Florida Science Foundation, correct? Staley.
- 25:19Speaker 1: I didn't realize what the Florida Science Foundation, but I
- 25:21Speaker 1: visited Epstein at an office building, correct? Question. Okay, so
- 25:26Speaker 1: your testimony is that you visited him in an office
- 25:29Speaker 1: building for some organization and that you had no knowledge
- 25:32Speaker 1: of and were generally unaware of? Answer, that's correct. Question, okay.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Can I ask a follow-up question? So I guess what
- 25:40Speaker 1: I'm struggling with is generally to understand your testimony. So
- 25:43Speaker 1: the incident that was just described by Representative Ansari happened
- 25:48Speaker 1: in 2007. And your testimony that you just gave is
- 25:53Speaker 1: that you remember it was less than an hour. You
- 25:56Speaker 1: remember who was present, including a sheriff, correct? Staley, that's
- 25:59Speaker 1: why I don't. whether we're talking about the same visit,
- 26:02Speaker 1: because he was incarcerated. Mr. Sullivan jumps in, excuse me,
- 26:05Speaker 1: excuse me. He could not have been in jail in 2007.
- 26:08Speaker 1: He had not pled guilty until July of 2008. Stansberry, oh, okay, 2008. So, what?
- 26:16Speaker 1: But the date is 2007 or 2008. But the follow-up
- 26:20Speaker 1: question that I'm asking is actually not about that incident.
- 26:23Speaker 1: It's more to establish the relevance that you recall the location,
- 26:27Speaker 1: you recall the setting, you recall the persons who were present.
- 26:30Speaker 1: But when you were asked extensively by our council about
- 26:33Speaker 1: these incidents involving young women, including the so-called Snow White person,
- 26:38Speaker 1: which happened years later in 2010, you're claiming you have
- 26:41Speaker 1: no knowledge and no memory of these exchanges that you
- 26:44Speaker 1: had with Mr. Epstein and engagement with these women. Staley, again,
- 26:48Speaker 1: that's a long question. So I met in an office
- 26:51Speaker 1: building in Florida, I believe it was 2009, but I
- 26:54Speaker 1: have no recollection of Snow White, Stansberry. So your testimony
- 26:59Speaker 1: here today is... Staley, no. He gets cut off by Stansberry.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Clearly remember an incident in which Staley cuts her off again.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And again, when I was at the office building with
- 27:11Speaker 1: Epstein in 2009, there was a sheriff in the same
- 27:14Speaker 1: office the whole time. Stansberry, but the question is about
- 27:17Speaker 1: your memory. You're claiming that you can remember the interaction
- 27:20Speaker 1: you had with Mr. Epstein when you went and made
- 27:23Speaker 1: a friendly visit while he was doing his sentence. But
- 27:26Speaker 1: you have no recollection of these emails and exchanges that
- 27:29Speaker 1: you had over a woman who That was referenced as
- 27:31Speaker 1: Snow White years later? That's your testimony here today? Staley,
- 27:35Speaker 1: yes it is. Stansberry, okay. That's ridiculous, but thank you.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Now it's Mr. Submaranium. Thank you for coming in today.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Were you personally involved in conversations related to whether Jeffrey
- 27:47Speaker 1: Epstein was a bank or a client of the bank? Staley, yes. Question,
- 27:52Speaker 1: did you actively defend him when he was trying to
- 27:55Speaker 1: get accounts? Answer, no. I left it to the bank's
- 27:58Speaker 1: compliance department, legal department, and private bank to determine whether
- 28:02Speaker 1: he maintained an account. Question, so at no point did
- 28:05Speaker 1: you ever tell your colleagues that you vouched for him
- 28:08Speaker 1: in any way, or that you support him opening different
- 28:11Speaker 1: accounts at the bank. Staley, I went to visit him
- 28:14Speaker 1: when the allegations came out in 2006, and I said,
- 28:18Speaker 1: he appeared shocked and denied the charges, but I let
- 28:21Speaker 1: the bank and its compliance department, legal department, and private
- 28:24Speaker 1: bank determine what and what type of business Epstein would
- 28:28Speaker 1: continue to do with the bank or not. Question, but
- 28:31Speaker 1: at no point did you ever say, we should bank
- 28:33Speaker 1: this guy. We should let him open accounts. And you know,
- 28:37Speaker 1: what he did in the past shouldn't play into that. Staley,
- 28:40Speaker 1: the bank dramatically restricted what it would do with, what
- 28:44Speaker 1: it would allow Epstein to do with the bank. And I,
- 28:46Speaker 1: you know, supported what the bank's decision was. Question, and
- 28:50Speaker 1: the bank restricted it based on what criteria? Why would
- 28:54Speaker 1: the bank restrict him? Staley, I think given what he
- 28:57Speaker 1: was charged with, the bank, you know, made the decision
- 29:00Speaker 1: to no longer basically allow him to engage with a
- 29:02Speaker 1: private bank in investment activities, which is principally what they do.
- 29:07Speaker 1: And I supported that decision. Question, but why was he
- 29:11Speaker 1: allowed to stay with the bank? Answer, I think basically,
- 29:15Speaker 1: what he was left with was simply a checking account. Question,
- 29:19Speaker 1: a checking account. And did you ever speak to Mr.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Jamie Diamond about Mr. Epstein? Staley, yes. Question, and when
- 29:25Speaker 1: was that? Staley, I believe once in 2006. When Epstein
- 29:30Speaker 1: was indicted, and I believe once in 2008, when Epstein
- 29:33Speaker 1: went to jail. Question, and did you speak to him
- 29:36Speaker 1: about Mr. Epstein's charges? Staley, Mr. Epstein gets cut off
- 29:41Speaker 1: by Submarinium did you speak to Mr. Diamond about Epstein's
- 29:45Speaker 1: charges Staley again I think in 2006 I think I
- 29:49Speaker 1: just mentioned that a client of the bank Jeffrey Epstein
- 29:51Speaker 1: had been indicted question so you did not speak to Mr.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Diamond Because I believe you've said under oath that you've
- 30:00Speaker 1: spoken to him about the fact that Mr. Epstein pleaded
- 30:02Speaker 1: guilty to one count of soliciting prostitution and one count
- 30:06Speaker 1: of soliciting prostitution from a minor. Staley, that was, that
- 30:11Speaker 1: was the second conversation. Summeranium, that was the second conversation.
- 30:16Speaker 1: So you did talk to him. Because Mr. Diamond had
- 30:19Speaker 1: said under oath that he does not recall knowing anything
- 30:22Speaker 1: about Mr. Epstein until federal prosecutors charge Mr. Epstein... with
- 30:26Speaker 1: sex trafficking in 2019. So, I'm trying to understand why
- 30:30Speaker 1: there's two recollections here. Staley, I don't know. Question okay.
- 30:35Speaker 1: That's all of my questions. Now we have Mr. Walkinshaw.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Thank you, Mr. Staley. I'm James Walkinshaw from Virginia's 11th District.
- 30:44Speaker 1: The New York Times reported last year that in 2011,
- 30:48Speaker 1: you informed Mr. Epstein that there were concerns inside J.P.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Morgan about his large and irregular cash withdrawals. Did you
- 30:55Speaker 1: talk with Mr. Epstein about those concerns that existed within J.P. Morgan?
- 30:59Speaker 1: About his large cash withdrawals? Staley, can I see a
- 31:03Speaker 1: transcript of that? Walkinshaw, yeah. I don't know what the
- 31:06Speaker 1: exhibit number is. I think we have the Exhibit J.
- 31:10Speaker 1: A September 8th, 2025 New York Times article. How J.P.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Morgan enabled the crimes of Jeffrey Epstein. And my pages
- 31:19Speaker 1: aren't numbered, but it's page 23. See the paragraph on
- 31:22Speaker 1: page 23? It's a first full paragraph. At the request
- 31:25Speaker 1: of Langford and other executives? Yeah, I'm sorry, the paragraph
- 31:30Speaker 1: starts Staley and at least one other executive alerted Epstein. Sullivan,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I think he wants you to read it. Staley, yeah,
- 31:37Speaker 1: let me read this. Question, if you need a few
- 31:39Speaker 1: minutes to read it, we can go off record. Staley, okay,
- 31:42Speaker 1: thank you. So they go off record, he reads it,
- 31:44Speaker 1: they're back on. Okay, Mr. Staley, in or around 2011,
- 31:48Speaker 1: did you alert Mr. Epstein? About J.P. Morgan's heightened sensitivity
- 31:53Speaker 1: about his constant cash withdrawals? Staley, that's what this article says, yes. Question,
- 31:59Speaker 1: do you recall alerting him to that heightened sensitivity? Answer again,
- 32:03Speaker 1: I don't recall the actual engagement, but quite possibly, yes.
- 32:07Speaker 1: But I think I did, and I think Mary Erdos
- 32:10Speaker 1: did as well. Question, I'm sorry, can you say that
- 32:12Speaker 1: name again? Answer, I think I may have, and Mary Erdos. Walkinshaw, okay,
- 32:18Speaker 1: so your testimony is that you may have alerted Epstein
- 32:21Speaker 1: to the bank's concern. Staley, yes. Question, okay. When you
- 32:26Speaker 1: perhaps informed Mr. Epstein that the bank was concerned about
- 32:29Speaker 1: these cash withdrawals, were you trying to help him alter
- 32:32Speaker 1: his behavior to avoid additional scrutiny? Staley, no. Question, what
- 32:36Speaker 1: would have been the purpose of alerting him to the
- 32:38Speaker 1: sensitivity within the bank about his cash withdrawals? Why would
- 32:42Speaker 1: you have done it? Staley, I was more sort of
- 32:45Speaker 1: asking him, is that true? Was he taking, you know,
- 32:50Speaker 1: large cash withdrawals? Question, so presumably though, Your colleagues at
- 32:54Speaker 1: the bank would have told you that he was making
- 32:56Speaker 1: large cash withdrawals, so why would you need to ask him?
- 33:00Speaker 1: Question just, I guess, rhetorically saying that the bank is
- 33:03Speaker 1: asking about large cash withdrawals. Walkinshaw, okay, but it wasn't
- 33:09Speaker 1: for the purpose of helping him to change his behavior
- 33:11Speaker 1: so there wouldn't be additional uncomfortable questions asked within the bank. Staley, again,
- 33:16Speaker 1: I always let the private bank, and you know, and
- 33:19Speaker 1: its staff, if they had issues with Epstein, to take
- 33:21Speaker 1: it with Epstein. if they had issues with his accounts,
- 33:24Speaker 1: to do what they deemed to be appropriate. I never
- 33:26Speaker 1: stood in the way of that. Walkinshaw, but in this instance,
- 33:30Speaker 1: you perhaps interfered. Answer, I wouldn't call it interference. Question,
- 33:34Speaker 1: you made a decision to tell, perhaps tell him, that
- 33:37Speaker 1: there were concerns within the bank. You weren't allowing others
- 33:40Speaker 1: within the bank to handle it. Staley, no. I think
- 33:43Speaker 1: other people, as I said, I think Mary Erdos talked
- 33:45Speaker 1: to him as well. Walkinshaw, okay. By this time in 2011...
- 33:50Speaker 1: there had been media reports that Mr. Epstein paid his
- 33:53Speaker 1: victims in cash. Did you ever have conversations with either Mr.
- 33:57Speaker 1: Epstein or with your colleagues at J.P. Morgan as to
- 34:00Speaker 1: the fact that perhaps Mr. Epstein was paying sexual abuse
- 34:03Speaker 1: victims with these cash withdrawals that you discussed with him? Staley, no. Question,
- 34:09Speaker 1: did it ever cross your mind that perhaps these large
- 34:11Speaker 1: cash withdrawals that you were aware of were related to
- 34:15Speaker 1: either sexual abuse or him having sex with girls or
- 34:18Speaker 1: young women? Staley, you know. you can go to jail for,
- 34:21Speaker 1: you know, a year, and you've been convicted of abusing minors,
- 34:25Speaker 1: it's just incredible to me that he would continue to
- 34:27Speaker 1: do it after he got out of jail. Walkinshaw, at
- 34:31Speaker 1: this point, you're a senior executive at J.P. Morgan. I
- 34:34Speaker 1: presume over the course of your career, you attend trainings, briefings,
- 34:38Speaker 1: with respect to the role of the banks and large
- 34:40Speaker 1: cash withdrawals in human trafficking and sex trafficking. Is that correct? Staley,
- 34:45Speaker 1: I was sensitive to large cash withdrawals, yeah. Okay, question.
- 34:50Speaker 1: So you have Jeffrey Epstein, who's a convicted sex offender.
- 34:52Speaker 1: You then have knowledge he's making large cash withdrawals. You
- 34:56Speaker 1: see him regularly in the presence of young women. Mr. Staley, no.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Walkinshaw goes on. And it never crossed your mind that
- 35:04Speaker 1: these large cash withdrawals might have been connected to any
- 35:07Speaker 1: of the women that you saw in his presence? Staley, again.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I didn't see young women in his presence. So that
- 35:12Speaker 1: part of your question, I think, is unfair. Question, how
- 35:16Speaker 1: would you define young women? Staley, again. What I saw
- 35:20Speaker 1: with his assistants, and I would say that they were
- 35:23Speaker 1: in their later early 20s. Walk and show, okay, that's
- 35:26Speaker 1: my time, thank you. So they're going to recess, so
- 35:30Speaker 1: we're going to take a break too. And in the
- 35:32Speaker 1: next episode dealing with the topic, we're going to pick
- 35:34Speaker 1: up where we left off. And that's with Mr. Emmer
- 35:38Speaker 1: asking some questions. All the information that goes with this
- 35:41Speaker 1: episode can be found in the description box. What's up everyone,
- 35:45Speaker 1: and welcome to another episode of the Epstein Chronicles. In
- 35:49Speaker 1: this episode, we're going to pick up where we left
- 35:51Speaker 1: off with Jeff Staley and his transcript from his trip
- 35:54Speaker 1: to Congress. Mr. Emmer, Mr. Staley, during the previous hour,
- 35:59Speaker 1: you were asked if you had visited Little St. James.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Is that right? Answer, yes. Question, you were also asked
- 36:05Speaker 1: if you had visited Great St. James, correct? Answer, correct. Question,
- 36:10Speaker 1: and you were asked about Great St. James you answered
- 36:13Speaker 1: in the affirmative. Was that the correct testimony? Answer, no.
- 36:17Speaker 1: I misspoke. I've never visited Great St. James. Emmer, thank you.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Question by Ms. Brignac. Mr. Staley, you mentioned that you
- 36:25Speaker 1: frequently visited Mr. Epstein's Manhattan townhouse at least dozens of times.
- 36:30Speaker 1: For what purpose did you attend these meetings? Answer, generally,
- 36:34Speaker 1: it would be on my way home. It would be
- 36:36Speaker 1: to sit and talk with Epstein about what was going on,
- 36:39Speaker 1: both economically, politically, financial world, talked about what I was
- 36:43Speaker 1: doing at the bank, talked about people that he introduced
- 36:45Speaker 1: me to as part of his network. So, general conversation
- 36:48Speaker 1: around business and around the network that he had, and
- 36:51Speaker 1: it was of interest to me. Question, did your meetings
- 36:55Speaker 1: always take place at the Manhattan townhome? Answer, yes. Question, why? Answer,
- 37:00Speaker 1: he used his dining room there as an office. So, oftentimes,
- 37:03Speaker 1: when I would go there, there would be other people
