Latest / Connor with Honor: AI, Real Estate and Real Life / We'll Look Back on This Like Dial-Up. Astra vs Old-School Automation.
Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: You know, we were talking about Astra, and I said, Yeah, it's uh it's the it's overhyped.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Come on, ridiculous.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: You know, I'm not getting paid for this, right?
- 0:09SPEAKER_00: Well, not directly.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Nobody from OpenAI, Sam, hasn't called me say, you know, Connor, we just gotta have you on the team.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Nothing like that.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: But I'll tell you what, um, Claude has been my favorite, been going back and forth.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: So I have workflows in process with Claude, have things that's building out.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: So I have a system called Honor Elevate in there.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: I can build additional systems for businesses, I can use AI implementation procedures after I talk to them.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: That's the human component.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I can send anybody a questionnaire that answers questions about the business.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But my most important or most valuable asset is basically I tell them, hey, listen, give me 15 or 20 minutes, let's talk about what your business is and how it works.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: So they call, all right.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: This isn't the pitch for you, this is just a listen.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So they call and I find out exactly, you know, how does the where do they get their clients from?
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: You know, are there ways to improve that using artificial intelligence?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: And maybe sometimes they're they're leaking clients in some way because maybe they're not responding, maybe they they don't have time, maybe it's after hours on weekends, maybe a majority of their business comes in on a on a Sunday night between 7 and 10.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: I've had businesses like that, just just the way it the way it rolls out.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So then at that point, I find out what could happen.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: How can we make this better?
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And then I know that different AI systems can solve these particular things, and so I put that into place.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Whether it's workflows or triggers that are not automated, if, then, or else statements, somebody comes in and requests something, and even how the request is received.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: You see these people on Instagram and TikTok DM me with this word, you know, house to this phone number, text, or whatever.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Those are automations.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Those are workflow automations where there's a trigger and then something comes in that triggers that trigger.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: The trigger has to be identified, then the trigger does something, so it creates an automation and whatever that is.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: So let's say you want to send a PDF, or let's say you want to send a payment link for something you're selling, then that's that process.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: It goes to the payment link, sends the payment link, they fill out the payment of cha-ching, you get that, and then you do whatever you say you're gonna do as a result of getting paid.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Easy.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: Now, artificial intelligence, right?
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: So I build these things.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Um, what was interesting using any other AI before Astra is getting this stuff set up is a nightmare.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: It's it's gonna be, we're gonna look back in five years, and then we're gonna be able to talk about, like we talk about the dial-up modem, that 56.6k bod modem with the AOL CD that was at every checkout stand in the entire world at one point.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Where you'd go home, you install America Online or AOL, you would go to your phone, you would dial up into the modem, and if you had call waiting, that screwed the whole connection up.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Remember that?
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: But you know, there was a way to muff muffle your lines so none of the interruptions come in.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Then they got smart and they wouldn't have let that beep beep thing interrupt the phone call.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: But but you hear that dial up boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, and then it connects, you hear that, and then it finally connects, right?
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: And then you're online.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: Welcome, you have mail.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: That's what it would say, and you get very excited.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: So five years from now, we're gonna look back and say, God almighty.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Remember, remember when we were trying to use A on the very beginning, trying to get all this shit connected?
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: We had to use MCPs, we had to use uh use Zapier integrations, we had to use these bridges, we had to use these connect these skills, these connectors and everything.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Oh my god, N8N, we had to do that.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: What a pain in the ass.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Now it's gonna be, you know, I just turn on Astra and I said, hey, and it says, Oh, I already know, because I already asked it to kind of do a little interaction with Claude and find out exactly where I am in these particular business ventures, these entrepreneurial things.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: So it does that, it reaches out, and a couple seconds later, it's into everything.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I'm getting I'm getting QR codes pop up on my screen to scan with my phone.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: I know what you're saying.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Connor, you're one of those people that tell us to be safe, used to be a cop, don't give access to things.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: But you know what?
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: It's amazing, and don't do it.
- 4:09SPEAKER_00: But I'm just saying it got in, and it was a specific thing I needed access to.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: Uh a different, like an email system that I wanted it to basically connect and go through and make sure I'm not missing anything.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: That's always the panic of a person that's got way too many emails, way too many websites, way too many everything, because they're trying to be way too many places at once.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: The the panic point for people like me is that I'm gonna miss something.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna get a notification.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: And while in some cases the systems are simple, you log into your Gmail and look.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: It could be that you build out a website, a work, a workflow, a funnel, a web page or whatever, an interest form, somebody fills it out, and maybe you forgot a step in connection.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's for a client, right?
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: And that's a problem.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Of course, we're gonna test everything and we always do, but sometimes trying to figure out where the hole is is a pain in the butt, depending on what you're building that to connect that for the client.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So trust me, if you're not in this world, it's it's a mess.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: And there's people much more brainier at this whole thing than me, but just trying to keep track of how it's all working from step one to step two to step three to step four.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: Sometimes, but at you know, step 3.5, we don't know that's where the break is in the system.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: We're at step seven and there might be a break at five, and we're still trying to find the one at five, and three point five is the one we're really but it just keeps going.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: Well, welcome, Astra.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Thank you for coming in, and thank you for those extra credits because I burned Ostrat in a day, and then uh today I got, I saw in there, it said, what did it say?
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: Some extra, get some extra add-on, something.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Nothing I pay for, just kind of included as a thank you from Sam Altman, apparently, of me talking so badly and now not talking as bad because, well, not that anybody's listening, but you know, some people, some people you don't think are your, well, I don't know, whatever he built, whatever they built, the brains behind this whole thing, yeah, I get it.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's making sense.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: Did a video a couple days ago, AGI.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm still not there with AGI because my bar for AGI, I think, is a little higher than what they're saying, AGI, artificial general intelligence, when these systems are better at us than anything.
- 6:15SPEAKER_00: Now, I'll give it this: as far as in the browser system, yeah, it beats me.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: If you watch Astra get get into a browser and start working it, it's fast.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Claude browser was pretty good.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: Astra is fast.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: It's it it see it's seeing things on the screen and it's identifying them and clicking through.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: And when mistakes are made, it immediately finds out and keeps going.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Also, some of the browsers have some kind of identifier type trait whenever AI tries to get in there.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: I guess the low-hanging fruit, and they're able to maybe observe when other types of uh large language model-enabled browser systems like Claude in the browser and ChatGPT in the browser and so on, they're able to identify when that entity is inside there on my behalf trying to do things.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: So, you know, the window shrinks or things get offset.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: It depends on what I'm using.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: If I'm using my honor elevate system that and I give access to my system other than a PIT or some kind of private integration token or an API, you might know it that way as well.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: If I wanted to work through the browser, it's just you can just see the credits just dripping off that that wick.
- 7:29SPEAKER_00: You know, they're just falling off.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: And it's difficult to watch because you know that's money.
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Now, when I gave Astra the approval, yeah, I didn't see maybe a couple drops, but it was fast, it was in there, and it was completely done.
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: So I get it.
- 7:46SPEAKER_00: As far as AGI being better than every human, we'll break that down a little further.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Better than at least me in the box, that's where we are, I think, almost on everything.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: It hasn't told me to go to sleep.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: God bless Claude, that's great.
- 8:01SPEAKER_00: You need some rest.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: It's 1:30 in the afternoon.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I'm not ready to rest yet.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: And, you know, of course, and if you want to rest, that really doesn't help.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So it tells you you want to rest, and then it pushes back.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: Every time I talk about fasting, because I've I I burned off a whole bunch of fat in the fast, and I used I used fasting.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: I I went for multiple days without food over a long period of time, seven, eight months, and that's what fixed it for me.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Healthy or not, or maybe it's better restricting calories or whatever, that's you.
- 8:28SPEAKER_00: Be you, be you, I'll be me.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: But every time I start to have that conversation with Claude, I need to call Overeaters Anonymous.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: They gave me the toll for the toll-free number, and uh the Suicide Hotline's recommending that because it's thinking that me not wanting to eat for seven days or 14 days, which I've done before, and it had just a wonderfully cleansing effect on me.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: No, as long as you have the fact, it at least that's the mindset.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: Okay, so but no, it's not it's not helpful at all.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: It wants to call people that uh people that will intervention and save my life, anyway.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: So that's the funny thing.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: I haven't had, I had actually I probably haven't had all fairness, given that conversation with ChatGPT, but it's it's uh yeah, it's pretty good.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And it's better than I've seen I can do in the box up to this point.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: It hasn't asked if it needs something, it asked once.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Most of the things I got it working on four here.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: So most of every everybody talks to each other, SSH enabled everywhere, tail scale and all that.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: So it it connects the dots, but it's it's pretty amazing.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: The other thing that it does very well is I have a Spark.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: So I have a couple large language models in there, a couple quins and a Nemotron.
- 9:37SPEAKER_00: I guess that's it.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: But, you know, trying to save token spend, I say, hey, get over to Frank, that's the DGX Spark, and start using those large language models.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: You can do it through Hermi or through Olam or however the hell you do it, because I'm not sure of the secret sauce, but it's been using that to create a lot of the stuff I want in that system without me even having to be involved.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: So then the thought comes to mind.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: You know how they say this stuff's gonna make us dumber?
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: Maps kind of did that.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: We went away from trying to remember a phone number.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: What is that?
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: So now we don't have any phone numbers memorized, but God forbid if I get booked into a Mexican jail, need to make a phone call.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I got a couple numbers and both of those memorized, probably aren't really the ones I want to call.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And just can't get rid of them.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: One of them's out of service because it was the phone number I grew up with, and everybody I knew on that end is dead.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: So you can't call them.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: Um, so that's where the brain gets.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: So you should have a couple numbers memorized.
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: Note to you kids out there.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Memorize somebody's phone number that isn't gonna change just in case you get booked into a Mexican jail.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: The other thing, the maps, right?
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: The maps, that was a big thing.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: We had we had to know how to get places now.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: We cheat now because traffic, especially if you live in Los Angeles like I do, what a mess.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: So you you want to get that app that shows you how you're gonna get from point A to point B and be able to take side streets and get away with not getting involved in all the traffic.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: That'll be great.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: But still, it's kind of cool to be able to know anywhere in the city, somebody gives you an address, you know, by the hundred block and the way it sounds, you're able to parse that together.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Downtown Los Angeles is one hundreds.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Uh 150 North Los Angeles was the old police department building.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: So it gets bigger from there.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Out here in Santa Clarita, we're 18,000, 19,000, and so on.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: San Fernando Valley, we're somewhere around at uh 10,000, 9,000, that's east to west, and uh north to south, yeah, east to west, yeah.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: East to west is gonna be uh starting a Burbank, what maybe here I go on let me see.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: North, northeast, even south.
- 11:39SPEAKER_00: So, but you had in your brain, well, now we have AI.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Let's say Astra is the one, let's say Astra has everything, let's say Astra's taken away, and let's say I have to figure it out again, especially after Astra does these major steps above my capability, and I don't have any really clue on how it does things, that's the danger.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And that's what I think people are going to be reporting on.
- 12:06SPEAKER_00: Now, if the price of compute comes down and Astra is always here, at least for what I do, I'm not solving new math, but apparently OpenAI did that as well.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: And as Alex Wisner-Gross says on the Moonshots podcast, math is cooked.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: He also says the moon is cooked, but math is definitely cooked.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think math is going to be finished by Christmas.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: All of math, everything will be 100% solved if what I heard today was true about not Astra, but some other model.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: You understand these labs have secrets, and they have these fancier models that, you know, just the internal people get to mess with, and maybe they're best friends.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sure that's the case.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: But that's all that gets access.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Well, one of those insider models, after apparently Claude's Anthropic or Anthropic's Claude, or Anthropic themselves, was kind of talking about building something to be able to solve some mathematical, whatever you call it.
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: Apparently, you know, Altman's crew got a little happy and said, here, check this one out.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: And again, looking at where Claude is, very good.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: But Astra, Astra is a lot more connective without me having to ask for it to be connective.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Just 20 bucks, I don't know how far you're going to get on 20 bucks, but it might not be bad just to see what it can fix that you already have in place.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Just take an existing workflow and say, how can you make this better?
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: If you build something for companies or if you have something for your own company, you know, real estate agent, right?
- 13:41SPEAKER_00: Just grab Astra, play, throw 20 bucks at Sam and say, Hey, um, I'm a real estate agent in Santa Clarita or wherever.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: This is my website.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: Um how would you make me more present?
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: How would you get me more business?
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: What would your suggestions be from what you can research and find about me with my website and everything else and see what it says?
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: Because it's going to plug in social media.
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: Maybe you're not posting enough, maybe you're posting at the wrong times, maybe your content sucks, maybe you need to do something different, maybe it'll suggest you because it knows it'll know something about you at that time by what it finds online.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Well, it says on Facebook that you just bought a DGX Spark.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Well, have you ever thought about leveraging that to be able to create content 24 hours a day, seven days a week at an engine I can build for you over uh over uh on your website through your blog and posting that content images and everything else would just wrap it up and get a like that deposit another$20, please like that.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I think I think we're there.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I think we're getting very close.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Artificial general, yeah.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: I think we're gonna need some bodies for that one.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: I think we're gonna need the robots, but uh not calling for that anytime soon.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And that'll take a bit, but probably not as long as you think.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: Don't forget the the 30-day game.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, 30 days.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: You give me a penny on day one, double it on day two, double that on day three, double that on day four.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: That's one to two to four to eight to sixteen to thirty-two to sixty-four to one twenty-eight.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it doesn't sound exciting, but you get to day 30, you've got 5,300,000 and something excitings.
- 15:17SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, watch out for that.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Here we go.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Let's uh let's get excited about it.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: Be safe, don't the these systems.
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, Astra is what we get to play with.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: There's a lot fancier stuff on the inside.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: That's why there's gonna come a point, I've said this before, there's gonna come a point where this is gonna be at a level that's gonna be plenty.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: There's no reason to get better because I wouldn't understand how the hell to use it anyway.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: And is it gonna level us up, level us up?
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: But you need to ask it to.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: Don't treat me like a simp.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: At least, you know, challenge me a little bit.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Make me better, make me smarter, make me brainier, make me faster, make me understand uh what's that thing that they have?
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: That first uh, not first precepts.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Um have me have me think of things in the first order of business things, or you know, maybe a Socratic method, or however you want to actually become, have it push back and do that.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: If you ever saw the black hole movie with uh it would bought by Disney that Vincent was the robot on there, if you ever saw that, you know, Vincent's that way I want my AI to talk to me, to interact with me, because it's always testing, it's always quoting, it's always giving me ideas and suggestions, it's always trying to make me better.
- 16:32SPEAKER_00: It's not fixing it for me, it's giving me the direction in a way.
- 16:39SPEAKER_00: But it's not telling me how to do it.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: That's the worst thing you do for a kid, you know, when they're getting frustrated, trying to find that square hole to put the round peg in.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: No, we want the square hole for the square peg.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: They're getting frustrated.
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: You just have them keep going at it.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: You just have them keep trying.
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: Eventually they get it, then they understand it, then they contrary it, they know it, then they keep doing it.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: For large language models, the difference was we showed them how to do it, and then they were able to replicate it, but now they're kind of branching off in their own way.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: They're starting to do stuff that we don't get.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Just be careful, giving it too much, having it run away with the idea, and then it gets stripped away, and then we can't.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: Can somebody help me, please?
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: Because I don't know what I'm doing now.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: Connor with Honor.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: We'll see you in the next one.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Thanks for watching.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: Be well.
