- 0:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 0:15SPEAKER_03: The clapper.
- 0:15SPEAKER_05: Clapper?
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: Don't steal the clapper.
- 0:17SPEAKER_05: There's gotta be a more technical word for it.
- 0:19unknown: That's to what it's called.
- 0:20SPEAKER_05: They just settled on it.
- 0:21SPEAKER_05: They're like, why think more?
- 0:22SPEAKER_05: A hundred and clapper.
- 0:24SPEAKER_04: The thing that claps.
- 0:24SPEAKER_04: Perfect.
- 0:25SPEAKER_04: Clap on, clap off.
- 0:26SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 0:27SPEAKER_04: Action.
- 0:28SPEAKER_04: Dude.
- 0:28SPEAKER_04: That was a thing.
- 0:29SPEAKER_04: You remember the clapper, right?
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: I thought that was going to be such a big part of our life.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_02: I thought we were going to be doing everything was going to be like clapping and snapping and you know.
- 0:36SPEAKER_05: I knew it wasn't because nobody I knew that was sane had one.
- 0:40SPEAKER_05: Even as a kid.
- 0:41SPEAKER_04: You call my great-grandmother and sane.
- 0:43SPEAKER_04: We might have the same great-grandmother.
- 0:45SPEAKER_04: We are related.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: Hey, we're underway, guys.
- 0:49SPEAKER_04: Episode 32, 31, wherever we drop this.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: This is fun, guys.
- 0:53SPEAKER_04: Maddie Ryan and Chris Higgins are here.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: And uh, dude, I just want to take that moment to introduce because we are related.
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: Crazy.
- 1:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and uh and you're you're not only related to the McGannes, but you're a Ryan, obviously.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: And uh I think about you every time I get on the Dan Ryan.
- 1:09SPEAKER_04: Everyone loves that.
- 1:10SPEAKER_04: Does anyone swear more when they bring up the Dan Ryan than the other highway?
- 1:14SPEAKER_05: No, I mean it's a it's a uniquely uh frustrating highway.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: It it is the best highway.
- 1:19SPEAKER_04: And dude, you're not from here, so maybe you can attest to this.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: Have you spent time on the Dan Ryan?
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I I think so.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: I mean I have, but I also am like so Google Maps reliant since I didn't grow up here that you know I'm just on I'm just on a a blue line basically.
- 1:32SPEAKER_05: Do you want to still though?
- 1:33SPEAKER_05: You've been here like 15 years.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, 11 now.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Eleven.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and I just still have I've never done anything without being like, all right, take me there, man.
- 1:41SPEAKER_05: Chris also loves the bus in a way that I admire, but it is unhinged.
- 1:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: I didn't grow up I didn't grow up with any sort of well, I grew up like Boulder County had like some public transit, but it wasn't like super good in that.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: They were like riding alpaca to school every day.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: It was a beautiful card.
- 1:56SPEAKER_04: I kind of tapped out during the token stage.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: What's the app now?
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: Are you?
- 2:00SPEAKER_04: I mean you can just tap your phone.
- 2:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can just load up a venture card or just do your credit card and it charges you two fifty a ride.
- 2:07SPEAKER_02: And then um yeah.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: $250 a ride.
- 2:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: And then you could transfer.
- 2:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think you can transfer.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, I tap it again and sometimes I don't get charged, I think.
- 2:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I usually so I like the bus, but if I have to take two, I'm out.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:20SPEAKER_04: Sounds like a prostitute you like have a good relationship with.
- 2:23SPEAKER_04: Sometimes I tap it and I don't get charged.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: But did you say you used to use bus tokens?
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: What's up?
- 2:29SPEAKER_04: Do you say you use bus tokens?
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: I thought that was like in the 19 like 50s.
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, basically.
- 2:34SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: Nothing changed between the 50s and 80s.
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: It was really like a little bit later.
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, people still had like rolls of tokens.
- 2:41SPEAKER_05: There were special coins just for the I think I've seen one like I'm not even this sounds like I'm trying to do a joke, but I think I saw one like in a museum.
- 2:48SPEAKER_05: Like I've I've never seen like a living one.
- 2:52SPEAKER_04: That was the top of my dresser.
- 2:53SPEAKER_05: They had like didn't they have like holes in them?
- 2:55SPEAKER_05: They were like special coins, right?
- 2:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they were like holes in the I remember seeing one.
- 2:58SPEAKER_05: I'm like, wow, yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: They were like the size of a dime.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: If you in your pocket, you're you couldn't really tell that it was but I used to I took the CTA to high school.
- 3:06SPEAKER_04: I took the bus.
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: That I mean, yeah, I would I biked every day to school.
- 3:10SPEAKER_04: I did do the bus for the street.
- 3:11SPEAKER_04: They were green, they're the green limousine back in the day.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: What did you do the what would you do the 13th?
- 3:15SPEAKER_05: 111th.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: 111th.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: I did the 95th.
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: Well, Rice and Maris were both on Pulaski.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: That's how you uh, you know, yeah.
- 3:22SPEAKER_05: Well rounded.
- 3:23SPEAKER_05: Usually well, if I I only took the bus which what if I had a detention, which was frequently, because like after I could get a ride with somebody unless I had to stay for an hour, and then I was on the 95th Street bus.
- 3:32SPEAKER_05: You piece of shit.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Well, we were talking about the Dan Ryan.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: I was just a fan of the track.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:38SPEAKER_04: You know, because you drive around the country, and there's not a lot like the Dan Ryan, dude.
- 3:45SPEAKER_04: It is a free-for-all.
- 3:46SPEAKER_04: It is if you can drive on that highway or 290, you can drive on any highway in the country.
- 3:52SPEAKER_05: I learned how to drive.
- 3:53SPEAKER_05: I learned like highway driving, I learned how to drive on the Dan Ryan.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: So you just thought everyone on the highways was just insane and speed limits were like a suggestion.
- 4:00SPEAKER_05: Three lanes at a time.
- 4:01SPEAKER_05: So did my mom.
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: And like my mom was trying to like was a little bit more gentle than her dad was with her, but because like she learned how to drive on the Dan Ryan, and he'd be like, merge, merge, screaming, and it's like, you know, she sold PTSD from that.
- 4:13SPEAKER_05: So you gotta figure it out.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: I do love like when I drive, like I drove in, I had a gig in Columbus, Ohio.
- 4:19SPEAKER_02: It's like a five-hour drive according to Google Maps, but they don't realize that the last like 45 minutes of that drive are gonna be done in about 15 minutes.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Like as soon as you see the city, you're like, all right, pedal all the way down.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: Like what I done the only people you get passed by are cops.
- 4:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, right.
- 4:35SPEAKER_02: That they're like, alright, have fun, you know.
- 4:37SPEAKER_05: You mean on the way back to Chicago?
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like as soon as I see this, like as soon as I like kind of get it like past that bridge to the Skyway, I am fucking flooring it.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, pretty much.
- 4:47SPEAKER_05: And that is yeah, I was like, Because even if you do get pulled over, like getting pulled over in a small town, you're like, Am I gonna live in this guy's shed for two years?
- 4:53SPEAKER_05: While his kids piss at me or whatever they do in the country.
- 4:56SPEAKER_05: And here you're like, all right, even if I do get popped, it's we're in the city, it's fine.
- 4:59SPEAKER_05: Witnesses.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: You try and throw a name at him, like my buddy.
- 5:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, oh he got a dishonorably discharged actually.
- 5:06SPEAKER_05: Uh, checks out.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: How about the people that they have the uh the the cops like hat ring?
- 5:11SPEAKER_05: I used to have that in my rear view mirror.
- 5:13SPEAKER_05: I got it at like a at like a swap around the flea market.
- 5:16SPEAKER_05: Oh, you should and I hung it from my rear view.
- 5:17SPEAKER_05: It was like it's like the check the checkerboard pattern.
- 5:20SPEAKER_05: It's like the band that goes around the cop hat.
- 5:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_05: And sometimes you hang well those from your rear view, so then other cops think you're like a I don't know.
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: You don't have to.
- 5:26SPEAKER_05: You can do whatever you want if you have one of those.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: You can just pull over, put your hazards on.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 5:31SPEAKER_05: I've done that kind of my whole I've I've just driven and parked with impunity.
- 5:34SPEAKER_05: I'm parked in a tow zone right now.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: Are you really?
- 5:36SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's not a city one, it's like down the block.
- 5:38SPEAKER_05: There's a I was looking for parking.
- 5:39SPEAKER_05: We're already late, sorry, by the way, everybody.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: Uh and Chris was standing there and I was like going back and forth looking for parking, and there's like a half a block down, there's like an upholstery company.
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 5:47SPEAKER_05: And they have a spot right in front of their building that's like 15-minute customer-only tow zone, and but no like tow company associated with the the threat, and it's also not a municipal sign.
- 5:59SPEAKER_05: So I'm like, let's fucking see what happens.
- 6:00SPEAKER_05: How many upholstery?
- 6:05SPEAKER_04: And uh, and that's another thing.
- 6:08SPEAKER_04: And by the way, this isn't even properly marked.
- 6:11SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
- 6:12SPEAKER_05: So I'll win, but I did bring my laptop inside in case they told my car.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Well, also, who need who needs a 15-minute or less like upholstery situation?
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Like, I gotta get these this fucking yarn in now.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: Right now.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: Are you like, you don't care how many tickets you have?
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: Because there's people like I got buddies, like you know, my buddy would open his glove compartment and tickets would fall out.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: Parking tickets, especially like by the Metra or like you know, and that I couldn't like live with that.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: No, I don't know.
- 6:39SPEAKER_04: Throw them in the well of the passenger seat.
- 6:41SPEAKER_04: Some people do not care.
- 6:42SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 6:42SPEAKER_05: I do, because they're expensive, and they will come for you.
- 6:45SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and like they'll impound your car.
- 6:46SPEAKER_05: One of my buddies, this was when I was in college, he was barked into this uh Irish pub in the South Loop, and a bunch of the people there were from Ireland.
- 6:52SPEAKER_05: One of my best friends was a little immigrant from from Ireland, and so his parking tickets, he was like, he would laugh every time and throw them like over his shoulder.
- 7:00SPEAKER_05: And then they towed his car, he finally got his car towed and he went to get his car out.
- 7:03SPEAKER_05: They're like, You have all these on paper.
- 7:05SPEAKER_05: It was like$9,600 worth of parking tickets.
- 7:07SPEAKER_05: Perfect.
- 7:08SPEAKER_05: And they were like, he was like, uh, okay, well, you guys just never mind, you can just keep the car.
- 7:12SPEAKER_05: And they're like, All right, well, you still owe us his$9,600.
- 7:14SPEAKER_05: And then he just moved to New York.
- 7:19SPEAKER_05: His picture is up at the post office.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: Can't go back to Chicago ever.
- 7:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: Pretty good.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: Got a whole bunch of tickets.
- 7:29SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I got some tickets for having expired plates, and they will go up on you, that's for sure.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: They um and I paid them, I paid the tickets, but I did not um get I haven't updated my plates yet.
- 7:41SPEAKER_02: Well, you move the type of life I'm living.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: Maddie grew up here, right?
- 7:44SPEAKER_04: So you have a little bit of that in you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 7:48SPEAKER_04: Hey guys, quick question.
- 7:49SPEAKER_04: Are you washing your face with the same soap you wash your car with?
- 7:52SPEAKER_04: Do you shower in the driveway too?
- 7:54SPEAKER_04: It's time to step things up.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: That's why I like Tiege Hanley.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: It's a super simple skincare system made for guys.
- 8:03SPEAKER_04: Cleanse, moisturize, exfoliate.
- 8:05SPEAKER_04: It's all laid out so you don't have to think about it.

- 8:24SPEAKER_04: So you come here from Boulder.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: You're from Boulder, Colorado.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: And there's like only like a section of town where you gotta pay for parking.
- 8:32SPEAKER_05: And the parking is like the parking tickets are like come on.
- 8:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 8:35SPEAKER_05: It's just a guy going, Don't buddy, please, man.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: You know the rules.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: You gotta stop.
- 8:41SPEAKER_04: It's a wealthy town.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: Boulder, right?
- 8:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it it is, it is for sure.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: I mean, I grew up in a town that was like middle class, like upper middle class for sure.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: And now um Google moved there.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: Um, NASA's like fully funding uh the University of Colorado.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: There's like hot sports teams there.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Sundance just moved there.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: NASA's really involved there?
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's the number one funded school by NASA, um, University of Colorado.
- 9:04SPEAKER_05: That makes sense.
- 9:05SPEAKER_05: It's the closest to the sky of all the states.
- 9:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Um and so it just yeah, be it like when I was growing up, I certainly didn't grow up like a impoverished, you know, like in a bad town at all.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: It's a great place.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: But it has been like aspenized, is what I always tell people.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: It used to be like nice.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: It's like they're about to have a film festival there and Sundance just moved there.
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 9:27SPEAKER_05: So growing up, there was probably not a lot of PJs landing in Boulder.
- 9:30SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there's a lot.
- 9:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Growing up, it was just kind of this like gem where it was like a lot of like professors at the university all lived in this.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: It was a college town.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: It was a college, yeah.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: It's a normal college town, and now it's just to become like Google, everyone wants to live, like live there.
- 9:43SPEAKER_02: Like I it used to be the most popular car was like a Subaru or like a like a shitty Toyota two-door truck to go up in the mountains, and now it's like Land Rovers everywhere.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: It's pretty crazy.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: I mean, like I live I'm from Boulder, and that's why I usually tell people I'm from I'm like, I'm from Boulder, and then people are like, oh, and I'm like, no, but not they ask you for I'm like from there.
- 10:03SPEAKER_02: I didn't move there, you know.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: That's the difference.
- 10:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: What do people give you about Colorado?
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: What's like the the default?
- 10:12SPEAKER_05: Oh, you're from Colorado, you are I mean stoner immediately, probably, but that's because I am and you're dressing your way out of there I was gonna say every single unfortunately Chris does embody every Colorado stereotype stereotype in a good way though, you know what I mean?
- 10:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like loved hiking.
- 10:27SPEAKER_04: I never thought of this podcast as kind of like Waynes World-ish until like today.
- 10:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_04: I'm like, oh man, it feels like I'm in my basement.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: This is a mess.
- 10:38SPEAKER_04: This is the vibe I've been seeking.
- 10:39SPEAKER_05: Dude, when you do our pod, we make our we our our backdrop, we're trying to make it look like just a 70s basement.
- 10:44SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 10:45SPEAKER_05: I'm working on the backdrop.
- 10:46SPEAKER_04: That's great.
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: We got sweetness from uh I got a trophy that I didn't even win.
- 10:50SPEAKER_04: Nice on display.
- 10:52SPEAKER_04: That's what I'm talking about.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: Just uh some random hardware.
- 10:56SPEAKER_02: That's for us.
- 10:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you guys take that with you.
- 10:58SPEAKER_04: We got a little D-Rose, more MJ here, dude.
- 11:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, how is your podcast going?
- 11:02SPEAKER_04: The Buddy System.
- 11:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, love this.
- 11:04SPEAKER_04: This is a crossover episode.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: It's the multiverse.
- 11:08SPEAKER_04: It's like when Webster was on different strokes or exactly that that that crossover never happened, but you know I'm talking about.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: You know, bus token days.
- 11:18SPEAKER_04: I think the podcast you guys are what, Urkel fans?
- 11:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 11:22SPEAKER_04: It's been so much better.
- 11:24SPEAKER_05: Well, I found out actually through a Key and Peel sketch that the Urkel show, it was supposed to be like um the the dad was supposed it was like he wasn't supposed to be the star, and then all of a sudden everybody just loved Urkel so much, and that was like the star of the.
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: It was supposed to be like uh Well, the dad probably got it after Die Hard because he was loved in that movie.
- 11:41SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: And I and I think that he was like, Man, we gotta put this guy in something, maybe.
- 11:47SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: Die Hard's one of the best.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: That's I every Christmas I watch Die Hard.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: I've never been one of those guys.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's your favorite Christmas video.
- 11:54SPEAKER_02: No, it's not, but I have been doing that for forever.
- 11:56SPEAKER_02: My dad is one of those guys.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: That's my trump card.
- 12:02SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you can't blame it on me, blame it on my dad.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: And Maddie's like, all right, that guy rules.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, does rule it in.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Does he?
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: He's pretty cool.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: What's your dad?
- 12:10SPEAKER_02: The most interesting man in the world vibes.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: He's retired now and just wait.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Was your dad Chuck Norris?
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, he he just died.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: Everyone made jokes about my dad that were really cool.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Um no, my dad is like he was a uh dentist that worked in Nepal for 12 years.
- 12:26SPEAKER_02: Um wow.
- 12:27SPEAKER_02: And bad teeth there?
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh, I don't know.
- 12:29SPEAKER_02: I yeah, I just fixed the whole fucking country.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: Chris lived there for like when he was a baby for a few years.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: I lived there until I was like five, yeah.
- 12:38SPEAKER_02: And then um and then now my and then he like moved to Boulder.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: I wish I was high.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: Dude, I was all starts in Nepal.
- 12:49SPEAKER_04: In the high places.
- 12:50SPEAKER_02: And then I came down to the hills.

- 13:12SPEAKER_05: Uh I just said what's book.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: What's what's a book?
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: This is what happens when you grow up in India.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: You gotta become friends with books.
- 13:20SPEAKER_05: Books and yaks.
- 13:21SPEAKER_02: No kids around.
- 13:23SPEAKER_02: It's true.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: I mean, I did growing up there, there's certain things that I like had to like relearn.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: Like, I all most of the adults in my life were Napalese or my parents who were outside all the time and they're very tan.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Oh wow.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: Um, so I thought when I grew up that I would like that I would brown Chris, like, can't wait to be black, dude.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: This is fucking awesome.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Any day now.
- 13:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I looked at black guys and I was like, those dudes are so old.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Holy shit.

- 14:09SPEAKER_04: Because we've been talking about this.
- 14:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_04: You know, Maddie and I remember we had a conversation at uh the Laugh Factory uh one night, and we were talking about like, hey, I want to get a podcast going.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: You were talking about the same thing, just doing something here in Chicago, building something, like, why isn't there more here?
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: So love that you guys got it going.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: It's called the Buddy System.
- 14:29SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 14:29SPEAKER_04: How many episodes in are you guys?
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: We are I think we just released our like no, I like I think we recorded like close to 20.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: We scrabbed a few.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: And then we've and so and we're about to release, I think, like our 12th or 13th or something like that.

- 15:26SPEAKER_04: A lot of time together.
- 15:27SPEAKER_04: We chill.
- 15:29SPEAKER_04: Just looking at each other.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: No, actually, Han, it's actually 18.
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: We check in, you know?
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: It's communication and we fight.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Oh, you do?
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:37SPEAKER_02: Not just physical, though.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_05: Opposing views.
- 15:39SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: Not really, actually.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Honestly, no.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm trying to think.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: We agree on too much, maybe.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're both pretty chill.
- 15:45SPEAKER_05: We did a debate uh comedy debate show last night, and then we were debating each other, and we all ultimately agreed at the end that we uh we're the same.
- 15:52SPEAKER_05: It was a tie.
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: What was the debate?
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Um well, yeah, it was one of the oldest paradoxes.
- 15:57SPEAKER_02: Immovable force versus uh No, immovable object versus unstoppable force.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Immovable object versus unstoppable force versus unstoppable force.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: It's a uh ancient paradox.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: It's like the third century BC.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: And we figured we'd we'd solve it last night at the Den Theater in Chicago.
- 16:15SPEAKER_02: Was it live?
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: Was it in front of other people?
- 16:17SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was like one of those debate shows where like it was Adam Burke and Deanna argued Bugs Bunny versus Bad Bunny.
- 16:23SPEAKER_05: You know what I mean?
- 16:23SPEAKER_05: It's not a real actual debate.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: Two other folks argued Epstein list or Epstein Files versus X-Files.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: X-Files obviously won.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: I can't believe what they were thinking.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: I don't think they were thinking of that.
- 16:36SPEAKER_04: I actually had a thought about Bugs Bunny uh yesterday because I gotta do this um show that's actually a Chicago show at WCIU, Bill Leff.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: It's like tune in with me.
- 16:45SPEAKER_04: It's like a cartoon show.
- 16:47SPEAKER_04: But Bill Leff, I don't know if you guys know Bill Leff.
- 16:49SPEAKER_04: Funny dude.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: He had a Chicago radio show for years.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 16:52SPEAKER_04: Uh he was a stand-up, starting a stand-up.
- 16:55SPEAKER_04: Anyway, I gotta do a like a cartoon show.
- 16:57SPEAKER_04: And they want me to do a little bit of stand-un.
- 16:59SPEAKER_05: Wait, like they want you to do it.
- 17:01SPEAKER_04: And there's he's on a show with a puppet.
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: It's him and a puppet.
- 17:03SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 17:04SPEAKER_04: So but anyway, I was like just thinking cartoons.
- 17:07SPEAKER_04: And if there was a cartoon character that ever were to do stand-up, wouldn't you think it would be bugs?
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's like kind of dry and uh he's a bit of a dick.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_02: He's like making he's making fun of people.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: Like he re Do you know the word Nimrod used to be a compliment?
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: And then he said it sarcastically so much that it became like a Nimrod is like an ancient god of hunting.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: And it used to be like you literally like someone would take a good shot and you'd be like, Good shot, Nimrod.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Like, who are you?
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Like a god of hunting?
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: And then Beg's bunny was like, Good shot, Nimrod.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: And then we thought Nimrod just meant dumbass, but it's a ancient god of hunting.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: He literally could have been like, he could have been like, Good shot, Mars, and then we would all be calling, you know, we'd be repurposing another god.
- 17:51SPEAKER_05: Nimrod does not, it doesn't vibe as a compliment, though.
- 17:55SPEAKER_05: Just like Nimrod.
- 17:56SPEAKER_05: It just leaves your mouth as a fucking disc.
- 17:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 17:59SPEAKER_04: You know NumNuts used to actually be like that was like a plotted?
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: NumNuts?
- 18:04SPEAKER_05: Dude, your nuts are numb as hell, dog.
- 18:07SPEAKER_05: Hell yeah.
- 18:07SPEAKER_04: You know, you don't feel anything now there.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: You're killing it.
- 18:12SPEAKER_04: You're so smart, dude.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: That only came to mind because my mom called me that one time, and and and then I just stared at her.
- 18:20SPEAKER_04: I was like, I don't think you know what that means.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: Maybe I don't.
- 18:24SPEAKER_05: That's probably like she heard you and your friends yelling at each other, and you're like, maybe he'll listen to this if I call him numnuts.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: And she heard that, someone went real.
- 18:34SPEAKER_04: That's so funny.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: She heard numbnuts played as a trump card in the backyard, and she was like, No dead.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: Something you said earlier that I love, I didn't know this, that rugby, yeah, the USA rugby, is headquartered in Boulder.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: You have a rugby background.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was it was headquartered headquartered in Boulder my during my childhood, and so there was like a big gold rugby club um called the Boulder Lions, and I played for them when I was in high school.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: Um and yeah, I'm a big rugby boy for sure.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: Love rugby students.
- 19:05SPEAKER_02: Can we zoom in here?
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: Can we get in over here?
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: On the games?
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: Thigh zoom.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: It was like the first sport I played where I like got it immediately and felt like I was like because I played I played soccer for a while.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: Not like maybe maybe not like dominant in like a I score it all the time.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: But I was good at the like in the trenches part of the game.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: So like the the rucks, as they're called, or the malls.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: That's the term.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah, uh get in the rucks.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah, ruck.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: Nimrod.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, get in the rucks.
- 19:31SPEAKER_02: Nimrod.
- 19:32SPEAKER_02: Um, yeah, so yeah, I loved rugby.
- 19:33SPEAKER_02: Now there's uh rugby's like a one of the fastest growing sports in America right now.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: Um we have a we now have a major league rugby with like um I think like ten teams around the country.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: There's one in Chicago, the Chicago Hounds, um, and they play I think at Tinley Park.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Uh yeah, and it's uh their uniforms are green and white and like horizontal stripes.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna get a I'm gonna get a shirt.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: They play like Gaelic Park?
- 19:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean that's where like when I did did Maris ever did you guys have a rugby team?
- 19:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they had a uh rugby club, yeah, for sure.
- 20:01SPEAKER_05: We had one and then all of our coaches played for the Southside Irish, and they all played at Gaelic Park.
- 20:06SPEAKER_05: Um I played two years in a row, quit both years, never made it through the whole city.
- 20:11SPEAKER_05: Um I was also smoking a ton of weed.
- 20:13SPEAKER_05: I was like, grueling, or is it just like Yeah, and like after I broke my nose for like the fourth time, I'm like, this stinks.
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: Really?
- 20:20SPEAKER_05: And I was also like playing in a band and smoking a ton of weed.
- 20:22SPEAKER_05: I'm like, I'm just gonna do that.
- 20:23SPEAKER_05: And then I started like I had to do extracurriculars, and then I started doing a second city improv class because they like when I was in high school, they started like an under 18 program.
- 20:31SPEAKER_05: So like did improv classes at like it was before the training center too, so it was just like on the main stage on like Saturday afternoons.
- 20:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, that's funny.
- 20:37SPEAKER_05: So I did yeah, music like playing in bands and comedy and weed instead of rugby.
- 20:41SPEAKER_05: That is uh very unsouth side ish that you were getting on stages at a at a young age and it was like I mean it was classes, and then like I did it for a couple years, and then I was like in an improv group where it was like we would just do a s like a show at the end of the graduation thing.
- 20:57SPEAKER_05: So I guess kind of, but like it's not like I was out there grinding.
- 21:01SPEAKER_05: Like I didn't I like then I still did in private at DePaul and then I quit and then didn't do anything for like a year, and that's when I started to stand up.
- 21:07SPEAKER_04: You graduated from DePaul, right?
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: I did, yeah, yeah.
- 21:09SPEAKER_05: Just five years and change.
- 21:10SPEAKER_05: Not pretty easy, actually.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: Little tease next week.
- 21:13SPEAKER_04: I got uh Chris Holtman, the head coach of DePaul men's basketball, coming on here.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's fired up about that.
- 21:20SPEAKER_04: Did they?
- 21:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, one of the best years they've had in a while because they've struggled.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:23SPEAKER_04: And this is like his second year, and they're doing well.
- 21:25SPEAKER_04: Weren't they like really good back in the day?
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: They were, yeah.
- 21:27SPEAKER_04: And never when I was in the uh token days, dude?
- 21:30SPEAKER_04: Token days, dude.
- 21:31SPEAKER_04: Hop on the bus demon game, dude.
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: Get off at Sheffield, the brown line, or the alumni hall?
- 21:36SPEAKER_05: I used to live like a block from there.
- 21:37SPEAKER_05: Like my sound weird.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: No, they only they the the basket was closed, and they had to take the ball out of the it was like a peach basket.
- 21:47SPEAKER_05: Earnestly listening for a second like, whoa.
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: Whoa, whoa, whoa, did you just shoot overhead?
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: What the hell was that?
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: We're going under, we're dribbling with two hands.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: Have you been watching any of the games?
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: Any of March Madness?
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: You guys into that at all?
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: I was.
- 22:00SPEAKER_05: I watched a couple the other night.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: I I mean, I I really dislike the last five minutes of all the games.
- 22:04SPEAKER_05: I'm such a dork.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's all you got time for.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: I've been watching Illinois.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Um, because my lady's like a massive Illinois fan.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Did she go there?
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she went to Illinois.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Um, so yeah, they've been good too.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: They've got that one guy who's got a crazy Eastern European name who plays angry, and I like that a lot.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: Well, it's from all the war crimes he witnessed as a child.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: It's because they tell them the whole team is Croatians, and then he goes nuts.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: They bumped your films.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: It's like revenge of my forefathers.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: I will dunk and block.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: He promised to himself when he got out of that rubble of rocks that he would be.
- 22:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that is crazy.
- 22:43SPEAKER_02: And I'm a big Nuggets fan, so I have a soft spot for a Serbian basketball player, you know.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, sure.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: Is that where he's from?
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: This kid you're talking about?
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: Jokic.
- 22:50SPEAKER_02: Uh, I think the kids, I mean, probably not.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: He's just got a crazy name.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: I should look it up.
- 22:56SPEAKER_02: I probably offended the Balkans just now and not a good region to offend.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: You know what's funny?
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: We just had was just in here before you guys, the PA announcer for uh Illinois basketball.
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 23:08SPEAKER_04: College men's team you're talking about.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: Oh, sick.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: And he would know the name.
- 23:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, he would.
- 23:14SPEAKER_04: I love that you're like, just this dude.
- 23:16SPEAKER_05: It's like all its only consonants.
- 23:18SPEAKER_05: Pretty much.
- 23:18SPEAKER_05: It's like vid the villa, levid the vich.
- 23:21SPEAKER_05: It's like one of those names you see, you're like, you got beat as a kid for sure.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: He's he looked dude, he's good.
- 23:26SPEAKER_02: I like him.

- 25:31SPEAKER_02: So I did four shows there.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Um David Rodriguez is the owner of the club and he's a comedian as well.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Um it's clear he's like featured and headlined across the country as well.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: Like his club is indicative of comics.
- 25:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, indicative of someone who's experienced the good and the bad from clubs, and it's like very good.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: There's no table service there, which I love.
- 25:51SPEAKER_02: It's just a QR code, and you scan, and then someone's just like, here's your drink.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: And like love that.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: Like a bot just shows up.
- 25:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:58SPEAKER_05: Just like I just drank reality.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: Don't you want to kick it over?
- 26:03SPEAKER_04: I really do.
- 26:03SPEAKER_05: I flicked it off.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: I do this to it every time.
- 26:05SPEAKER_05: No one has eyes.
- 26:06SPEAKER_04: Did it have a municipal sticker?
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Was it registered?
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: No, it wasn't.
- 26:09SPEAKER_05: But it had a name, which made me even more mad.
- 26:10SPEAKER_05: I like some there was a guy waiting for the bus, and I was getting back in the car with these coffees, and I held my coffees over here and flicked it off for real just now on Grant.
- 26:18SPEAKER_05: Called it a jag off.
- 26:19SPEAKER_05: I should have yelled.
- 26:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:21SPEAKER_05: But then on it, it was like glitching, where it was like went this way, and it was like, I wanted to kick it over.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: How do they know we're not gonna throw those in the fucking river?
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Because you want to because you're on camera, like all the sides.
- 26:32SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think okay, mask.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: No, not what?
- 26:35SPEAKER_02: Trump card.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: I was with um uh comedian Bobby Buds last night, super funny dude, and he looked, he saw one of those robots, and he's like, God damn clanker.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I love that you of all people have slurs for this already.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: Already.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: He's gonna leave some.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: I'm surprised there hasn't been a rebellion like that, like picking them up and tossing them out.
- 26:55SPEAKER_05: I wonder if they did, and then they're like, if their PR team is burying it, because if that hits the news, it's gonna go so viral in Chicago, and every fucking high school kid's gonna do it.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: So I think every time they throw, like, don't that's who we gotta hope out that the high school kids step up.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: We protect their future.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: You know, you're underage.
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: High school kids.
- 27:13SPEAKER_04: You're listening to this.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, commit some crimes in the river.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: Everything will be expunged when you turn 18.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:20SPEAKER_02: Because the world is you will not be tried as an adult.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you're 16, 17-year-olds, throw the robots in the lakes.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: It'll you'll be forgiven in a couple years.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: Who's the who would be the asshole representing the bots in court?
- 27:33SPEAKER_05: Oh man.
- 27:33SPEAKER_05: You know?
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: Maybe by that time we'll already have robot lawyers.
- 27:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:38SPEAKER_05: And it's just a taller robot guy.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: It's just a taller refrigerator on wheels.
- 27:42SPEAKER_04: Do you have any fears about comedy being AIDS?
- 27:45SPEAKER_05: No, I think it's the only thing that is just too hard to I mean you they can fucking write a sitcom that might be passable, but I think like for stand-up or I don't know, maybe even sketch that like will appeal to someone who can barely read.
- 27:57SPEAKER_05: And like, uh but I think like truly standout, I think humor, even in like other like in other other languages, right?
- 28:04SPEAKER_05: Like, I feel like humor is the hardest thing to get absolutely right across a language barrier.
- 28:10SPEAKER_05: You know, even if you're doing like word-for-word translation from let's just even English to Spanish or vice versa, there's some little tiny nuances that are lost in the crossover.
- 28:18SPEAKER_05: And I think I think AI, I mean, in our lifetime at least.
- 28:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 28:23SPEAKER_05: Wherever this goes, I can't wait to be dead for it.
- 28:25SPEAKER_05: Um and not see.
- 28:27SPEAKER_05: But um, yeah, I think in our lifetime we're good.
- 28:30SPEAKER_02: I don't see it being able to do original, but I could see it regurgitating like in this is gonna be so bad.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: But like I already saw someone they basically ran all of Carlin through an AI thing, and now some AI bot is like a doing Carlin because they were able to like consume all of his work.
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Did his estate.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: That's what I worry about.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: It's like highly illegal.
- 28:51SPEAKER_04: Like you mentioned going to open mic last night when we were talking here.
- 28:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: You ever go you go to open mic, you go to a show, and you see somebody that they have something but material.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: They're they got presence, they got a look, they got you know the performance, but they don't they can't write.
- 29:06SPEAKER_04: They can't come up with stuff.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 29:08SPEAKER_04: Now I feel like so those people can get a written act, maybe.
- 29:12SPEAKER_04: And then the other thing, I have some guy told me one time this kind of stuff me in my tracks, he was like, You're gonna be competing against holograms before you know it.
- 29:20unknown: Fuck me.
- 29:21SPEAKER_04: Like, can you imagine?
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, like they're like, hey, Richard Pryor has got a whole new act about today.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: And you can go see him live.
- 29:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I mean, people are already signing off on their likeness to do that in movies and stuff.
- 29:34SPEAKER_05: Like, um, or if they either I don't know if they are signing off, but they're being pitched.
- 29:38SPEAKER_05: So, like, for example, let's say like a Bruce Willis, you know, amazing iconic actor, and now is I think a venture.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: He was in that Christmas movie.
- 29:46SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 29:46SPEAKER_05: There you go.
- 29:47SPEAKER_05: Which one?
- 29:47SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, your Christmas movie.
- 29:49SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Die Hard.
- 29:49SPEAKER_05: The big one.
- 29:50SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:50SPEAKER_05: Fuck you, dude.
- 29:52SPEAKER_05: But like, if if they were like, all right, we'll give you a fucking billion dollars if we can take your image and just make diehards 100 through 500 over the next 200 years.
- 30:01SPEAKER_05: Like, and they're like, sure.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: I would say, what else do you want?
- 30:04SPEAKER_02: A billion?
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: Take my body.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:06SPEAKER_02: You don't even even have to do the image.
- 30:08SPEAKER_02: Take the real thing.
- 30:09SPEAKER_02: Whatever you want.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they could probably reanimate that thing.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: I'm your whole body.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: My holes.
- 30:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: I'm yours now.
- 30:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 30:19SPEAKER_02: You can make new holes in me, you know.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Do do those.
- 30:23SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Mine went to a real bad image, though.
- 30:26SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna.
- 30:27SPEAKER_02: I can't wait to be the though.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: People will see me and be like, there's Chris Higgins.
- 30:30SPEAKER_02: He opens for the hologram of Mitch Hedberg.
- 30:35SPEAKER_02: He's doing stadiums.
- 30:36SPEAKER_05: Well, do you remember like that thing?
- 30:38SPEAKER_05: This was like way before AI was even on our as much on the forefront as it is now, but it was like a Tupac hologram that they were like taking on the road at a concert.
- 30:46SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and it was like there was like dudes on stage rapping, and then they had like it was like all over the news, and it didn't look great, but I think this was like a while back.
- 30:54SPEAKER_05: So like they already had the technology to do something that looks like shit.
- 30:57SPEAKER_05: I'm sure it's much better now.
- 30:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, they're dialing it in.
- 31:00SPEAKER_04: I saw a show in Vegas, a Michael Jackson show, they had a hologram.
- 31:03SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 31:03SPEAKER_04: And he comes out and like moonwalks, and it's like, oh I could watch that for 45 minutes.
- 31:08SPEAKER_04: If that were, you know.
- 31:09SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 31:10SPEAKER_05: Well, it's also because people care less and less about authenticity or anything.
- 31:14SPEAKER_05: They just want to like you know what I mean?
- 31:17SPEAKER_05: So they I think we're gonna be.
- 31:18SPEAKER_05: Not the people listening to this shit.
- 31:20SPEAKER_05: Not here.
- 31:20SPEAKER_05: You guys are discerning art critics.
- 31:22SPEAKER_05: And we appreciate you for it.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you you look, you know, you're trying to look for positive stuff out of this whole thing, but you know, we'll see where it goes.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: Like when I remember sitting at like a like a with one of my friends who's way smarter than me when AI was first coming out, he's like, Yeah, it's gonna automate research and all these like tedious jobs that were helping to advance like cancer studies and all that, that'll be all like automated and these robots will be be able to do perfect code.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: And then it turns out it's just like instead of doing that, they're like just putting like tits on Gandalf.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: And that's what we have now, you know.
- 31:57SPEAKER_05: Like, but they're also the other things are uh happening too.
- 32:00SPEAKER_05: We just don't see that on Instagram.
- 32:02SPEAKER_05: You've seen the Gandalf tits a lot, but you're not seeing the AI surgery robots.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah I guess I guess like coding is now like an extinct profession already.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: Genuinely.
- 32:13SPEAKER_05: I read that did you read that article in the Times?
- 32:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's like well they use it is and it isn't, like they still need those guys there and gals to like make sure, but like they're they were basically saying like something that used to take a week takes like an hour.
- 32:25SPEAKER_05: It is wild.
- 32:26SPEAKER_04: I just feel like, oh man, like if you're a kid, like because I used to like you'd be in the room, you'd be half paying attention, and you hear something about Beirut or whatever was going on back then, hostages, you know.
- 32:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah, walking out.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: Now they're like, yeah, well, you know, most of the jobs would be gone.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: Everything like you just these kids are absorbing all this stuff, all this unknown stuff.
- 32:45SPEAKER_04: Totally.
- 32:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 32:46SPEAKER_05: And like if for the last like 20 years, everyone's been like, learn to code, learn to code.
- 32:50SPEAKER_05: Oh, you you you not you're not happy with your place in life because you're a server or something?
- 32:53SPEAKER_05: Learn to code.
- 32:54SPEAKER_05: And now, now what?
- 32:55SPEAKER_05: No one can it's all AI.
- 32:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, holy shit.
- 32:59SPEAKER_02: I know several people that were like, I'm gonna go to a coding boot camp.
- 33:01SPEAKER_02: And I was like, good for you, man.
- 33:03SPEAKER_02: That's how like let me know when I I'll let you know when I need to borrow money.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: And now a coding boot camp?
- 33:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like you just go for like a year-long, like basically like an intensive and you learn.
- 33:14SPEAKER_05: Picturing a drill sergeant, like, that's not a good drop down and give me HDMR or whatever it is.
- 33:21SPEAKER_05: No one can do bush-ups in here.
- 33:22SPEAKER_05: I'm not even a drive.
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: Are you doing push-ups?
- 33:26SPEAKER_02: Stop.
- 33:28SPEAKER_02: Supposed to be like job of the hut.
- 33:30SPEAKER_05: Everyone's crying, even the ones not getting yelled at.
- 33:35SPEAKER_04: A lot of guys already trust Tiege Handley.

- 34:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I saw a thing trending today about uh people talking about things that are ruining our society that we all actively know but we don't talk about.
- 34:18SPEAKER_04: And I and I printed it out.
- 34:19SPEAKER_04: I thought we could we could find somebody else.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 34:22SPEAKER_04: I got too excited and ruined my mic.
- 34:25SPEAKER_04: This is one that stood out to me.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: This person I feel like just wants to stay in college.
- 34:30SPEAKER_04: Like, you know.
- 34:31SPEAKER_05: Is this just like a like a social media comment board?
- 34:34SPEAKER_05: This is on Reddit.
- 34:34SPEAKER_05: Oh, gotcha, gotcha.
- 34:35SPEAKER_04: So this is a lot of all these people were jumping in on on, you know, it and it got a ton of comments, a lot of engagement.
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: This is where people are engaging now, right?
- 34:42SPEAKER_04: No one talks to each other, they just get in a room.
- 34:45SPEAKER_05: Only online.
- 34:46SPEAKER_05: I think the next generation, I think we're all cooked.
- 34:48SPEAKER_05: Did you see that study that just came out that like this the whatever battery of like standardized tests they just did this year?
- 34:53SPEAKER_05: It's the first time in the last like 150 years in America that this generation has not out-tested the previous generation.
- 35:01SPEAKER_05: So like we just like this year's the first year where I got to kids legitimately dumber.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: And you're like shit, and I'm like, yes, that's like the first time we can like as millennials, we're about to like fully lean into like you kids, you know what I mean?
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: And now we have something to stand on.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Because it used to be like you kids, and then we'd be like, Oh yeah, you fucker, we're smarter than you, but now we don't know like that.
- 35:22SPEAKER_02: You feel like that?
- 35:22SPEAKER_04: That's what you guys are, millennials?
- 35:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, both, yeah.
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: And what is that?
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: How do you define that?
- 35:27SPEAKER_04: No idea.
- 35:28SPEAKER_05: I think there's like a there's a year uh cut out, you know.
- 35:31SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't define it.
- 35:32SPEAKER_02: I just see yourself as uh I mean like no, it's more like what I've been labeled as, you know, like I've always thought the generational stupid, yeah.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but it is interesting to know that like the the kids are actually dumber.
- 35:47SPEAKER_02: The kids are not all right.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: My son called me a boomer the other day.
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: Are you okay, boomer?
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: If I were a boomer, I would throw you across this room right now.
- 35:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if I was a boomer, you'd be being unconscious.
- 36:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: And have an extra belt that you would know about.
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: The one that's only for you, not to wear.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: Dude, I got spanked with a wooden spoon.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: Oh, you did?
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: And the cup side, it hurt.
- 36:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, man.
- 36:11SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it makes a little clear if it gets it good, it's a little clutch, like a little cup, too.
- 36:15SPEAKER_05: Getting you ready for rugby, dude.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: You know, that's fine though.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: I can't.
- 36:19SPEAKER_02: Now you take a what was the offense?
- 36:21SPEAKER_02: Uh I shoved a girl in a pond.
- 36:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, dude, you needed them.
- 36:31SPEAKER_02: You needed them.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:32SPEAKER_02: You're looking at the girl's dad was in there.
- 36:34SPEAKER_02: No, dude, me and my friend Sam plotted for weeks.
- 36:38SPEAKER_05: Another dude?
- 36:39SPEAKER_05: You two dudes the one girl.
- 36:40SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: He liked her in a body.
- 36:41SPEAKER_02: He like distracted her, and I was like, uh shoved her into a body of water.
- 36:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well, yeah.
- 36:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:48SPEAKER_04: Oh, like what was the thing?
- 36:50SPEAKER_02: We became friends later in life.
- 36:51SPEAKER_02: Well, just water.
- 36:52SPEAKER_02: Water, some frogs.
- 36:55SPEAKER_02: We made, you know, that's why we prepared for weeks.
- 36:57SPEAKER_02: We were like, we can't actually hurt her.
- 36:59SPEAKER_02: Like, I got beat one time.
- 37:00SPEAKER_02: What happened?
- 37:01SPEAKER_05: We killed a girl.
- 37:03SPEAKER_02: She was fine.
- 37:05SPEAKER_02: She just was bad.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: Wooden spoon.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I became friends with her later on.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:09SPEAKER_02: It's cool.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Hall's forgiving.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: I got I got punished.
- 37:13SPEAKER_02: It's I paid my price.
- 37:15SPEAKER_04: It worked.
- 37:16SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 37:17SPEAKER_02: That's the thing.
- 37:18SPEAKER_04: Do you push anyone else in a pond after that?
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: No.
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: See?
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: That's what I'm saying.
- 37:22SPEAKER_05: It totally works quick.
- 37:23SPEAKER_05: That might have been three different times of like verbal like lessons before you stopped doing it.
- 37:28SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 37:28SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 37:29SPEAKER_05: Spank with a spoon?
- 37:30SPEAKER_05: Don't do that.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 37:31SPEAKER_05: I'm going to do it again.
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: Oh, my kids with the stuff, they just leave it open and it's like, you know, and they've seen me like put the dog's nose in something.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: It's like, is that what I need to do?
- 37:42SPEAKER_04: I get like you gotta wear this cheap cheese it box over your head.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: And I'll post it on Instagram.
- 37:45SPEAKER_05: I'll put this on YouTube.
- 37:46SPEAKER_05: Do you want me to do that?
- 37:47SPEAKER_05: Post it this.
- 37:48SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 37:48SPEAKER_05: Threaten them with that.
- 37:49SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna send this on your class, thread it.
- 37:51SPEAKER_05: Thread it, Reddit.
- 37:52SPEAKER_05: Whatever the hell it is.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: They're dumb.
- 37:54SPEAKER_02: That's all we know.
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:56SPEAKER_05: I also worried about them being able to talk to like people in the world.
- 38:00SPEAKER_05: Like there's there's the family that lives downstairs uh in my building.
- 38:04SPEAKER_05: The kids, I think they're like, I don't know, like middle school or high school, and like I hear them like talking and yelling and like playing and fighting all the time.
- 38:12SPEAKER_05: And then when I see them in the hallway, I'm like, hey, what's up, dude?
- 38:14SPEAKER_05: They're like they don't even And I'm like, I know you guys are like you you have personalities and you're like, you know, there's a vivacious energy in there because I hear you all the time.
- 38:22SPEAKER_05: So like, but then when I'm just like then I'm like And you live in the city.
- 38:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and I live they they live right below me.
- 38:28SPEAKER_05: Like I see them and his parents all the time.
- 38:30SPEAKER_04: That you would think is an advantage for them.
- 38:32SPEAKER_04: They live in the city, they're around people, right?
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
- 38:34SPEAKER_05: And they're still like they're living in an apartment building and a building.
- 38:37SPEAKER_05: No, it's like almost like they've like.
- 38:39SPEAKER_05: You ever volunteer to babysit?
- 38:40SPEAKER_05: That would be crazy.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: I should.
- 38:41SPEAKER_05: Like, what are you guys up to?
- 38:42SPEAKER_05: You want me to hang out?
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: No, just want you to know I babysit on the guy upstairs.
- 38:47SPEAKER_05: Broirs, really good with kids.
- 38:48SPEAKER_05: How mostly like prepubescent boys.
- 38:51SPEAKER_05: Love that edge.
- 38:52SPEAKER_05: I bought you dude.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: I bought you dudes' Legos out of nowhere.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: What are you doing?
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: You guys like Legos?
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: I got some bus tokens.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: You guys want to go take the bus?
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: Oh man.
- 39:03SPEAKER_04: And you live in the city too?
- 39:04SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 39:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like right by the laugh factory.
- 39:06SPEAKER_04: You guys do you have roommates or do you live alone?
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: Both of you live alone?
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm with our significant others.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, you are?
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:14SPEAKER_04: I live in the city.
- 39:15SPEAKER_04: Is this what millennials are doing now?
- 39:16SPEAKER_04: They're starting to think about.
- 39:18SPEAKER_05: I think so.
- 39:19SPEAKER_05: Well, you move in together after about nine years, and then you talk about kids for five more, and then you don't have them because it's impossible.
- 39:25SPEAKER_05: And then you just kind of I don't know.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: You have two cats.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: That's what my move is.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: I got none.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: Good for you.
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: I got cornelia and pomple moose.
- 39:33SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: Corn and moose.
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: Corn and moose.
- 39:38SPEAKER_02: Or actually, I've been calling Moose Mr.
- 39:39SPEAKER_02: Backflip lately.
- 39:41SPEAKER_02: Oh, he's been ripping some B flips?
- 39:42SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 39:43SPEAKER_02: He's the fattest guy ever.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah?
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 39:46SPEAKER_02: He's n I yeah, I con new nicknames for my cat every three days, basically.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: What do you do to a fat cat?
- 39:52SPEAKER_05: What do you do to him?
- 39:53SPEAKER_05: Do you like feed it too much ham or what do you think?
- 39:55SPEAKER_02: No, he just doesn't eats and then doesn't well most indoor cats are overweight.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: Um because they don't they most cats they're not highly motivated.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: But I mean I try.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: We like play like play with the string stick, but I mean he just chills too much.
- 40:12SPEAKER_05: Put a cat on a diet or how does it Yeah, you can do that.
- 40:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I probably eventually will have to do it.
- 40:17SPEAKER_05: What does that entail?
- 40:18SPEAKER_05: Less food or different food?
- 40:19SPEAKER_05: I think different.
- 40:20SPEAKER_05: I'm so curious.
- 40:20SPEAKER_02: Basically, like empty, empty, empty kibbles.
- 40:23SPEAKER_05: Is it mean morally to just get that thing fat as shit and just it's so hilarious?
- 40:28SPEAKER_02: Well, I think it's just like a a bad idea a bad idea um financially as well.
- 40:33SPEAKER_05: Oh, because they got health problems?
- 40:34SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:35SPEAKER_05: Super fat cat is so funny to look at, dude.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they it's a certain point where the and then they get past it and you're like, oh my god, this is cruel to the thing.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I've like seen he's not he's not all the way tubby, but yeah, he would never rip a backflip.
- 40:47SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 40:49SPEAKER_02: He would rather just um he could do a backflip if he was on the ground, and I spun him.
- 40:53SPEAKER_05: No, yeah, that's a different thing, though.
- 40:56SPEAKER_04: We're gonna rip the last five minutes, and that could be one of your guys' episodes.
- 41:02SPEAKER_02: Oh, we forgot Pat was here.
- 41:04SPEAKER_02: Oh no, that was a dude.
- 41:06SPEAKER_02: I felt like I had front row seats.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: Like, this is it.
- 41:10SPEAKER_04: Why don't I take a look at it?
- 41:12SPEAKER_04: No pets.
- 41:12SPEAKER_04: No pets.
- 41:13SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 41:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I have a dog.
- 41:14SPEAKER_04: Actually, I have a dog.
- 41:15SPEAKER_04: Ralphie.
- 41:15SPEAKER_04: Oh, nice.
- 41:16SPEAKER_04: Ralphie?
- 41:17SPEAKER_04: I don't even think of him as a pet.
- 41:18SPEAKER_04: I just think of his own.
- 41:18SPEAKER_04: Or the family name.
- 41:20SPEAKER_04: You're like, no.
- 41:20SPEAKER_04: Oh my son.
- 41:21SPEAKER_04: The one son is a dog, actually.
- 41:24SPEAKER_04: I was thinking about nicknames.
- 41:26SPEAKER_04: My boys have nicknames for uh they always call each other different stuff.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: I I heard my son calling uh his brother Katie this weekend.
- 41:34SPEAKER_04: Katie and coach.
- 41:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, hilarious.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: Like these kids, they just whatever they however they communicate with each other.
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: It is kind of funny sometimes when you dial in.

- 42:24SPEAKER_04: I agree.
- 42:25SPEAKER_04: But dude, they're watching us and we're all tripped up.
- 42:29SPEAKER_04: This stuff.
- 42:29SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 42:30SPEAKER_04: This is the one I was gonna read.
- 42:31SPEAKER_04: This was the one that I love because I could relate to this at some point in my life.
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: You know?
- 42:35SPEAKER_04: We should be, this is uh someone we look at family wrong.
- 42:39SPEAKER_04: You know, the family unit.
- 42:41SPEAKER_04: We should be redefining the family unit for found family.
- 42:44SPEAKER_04: I would be so stoked to gather my best friends and move into a large house where half of a dozen of us can live and just accept that we are a family ourselves.
- 42:54SPEAKER_05: I see I like that idea in theory, but let's be honest.
- 42:57SPEAKER_05: That's that's net that's not gonna work out.
- 42:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:00SPEAKER_02: I I lived in a house with four other comedians for about six years.
- 43:04SPEAKER_02: Oh, dude.
- 43:05SPEAKER_02: That's what they're doing.
- 43:06SPEAKER_02: Were any of them on?
- 43:07SPEAKER_02: Um on all the time.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 43:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, definitely.
- 43:10SPEAKER_02: And then and then um I went over there a handful of times, and it was just yeah, it was just slob city.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I I tried to like clean, I would clean the kitchen, go on the road, come back, and be like, it's worse.
- 43:21SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like creatives are not all that organized.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: No, no, right?
- 43:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and dudes, and then when there's four of them in the place, yeah, it was that was a it was a that was a tough hang.
- 43:31SPEAKER_02: It got bad.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:32SPEAKER_02: So I don't know.
- 43:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, like that sounds good in theory, but you separate houses.
- 43:36SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think separate houses with like 40 acres and everyone, you know what I mean?
- 43:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, tons of space.
- 43:42SPEAKER_05: Neighbors, you know, all in the same house is yeah.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: You see those, those are like that's like a thing with like southerners, there's like family compounds.
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: They have like a big old property and they're like, built you a house over there.
- 43:54SPEAKER_02: Congratulations on your marriage.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, I love that.
- 43:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:57SPEAKER_05: Yeah, like a big manor, just a whole like estate.
- 44:01SPEAKER_05: I would be down for that.
- 44:02SPEAKER_05: I mean, I I kind of want to do something like that in Michigan, but it's never gonna happen.
- 44:05SPEAKER_05: But I think it'd be cool.
- 44:06SPEAKER_05: Like close enough to Chicago, keep an apartment in the city, and then just you know, like close to like somewhere in like southwest Michigan.
- 44:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and they're supposed to build like high speed rail between there eventually.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: Well they will they were building a station in uh in Michigan City.
- 44:19SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 44:20SPEAKER_04: I don't know like where that is.
- 44:22SPEAKER_02: Who knows?
- 44:23SPEAKER_02: You can take the train to New Buffalo.
- 44:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:25SPEAKER_05: Um and you can take the the the Par Marquette to uh St.
- 44:28SPEAKER_05: Joe too.
- 44:28SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 44:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that part of the you know the summer coming.
- 44:32SPEAKER_04: That's starting to go off.
- 44:34SPEAKER_04: Can't wait.
- 44:35SPEAKER_04: I know you guys got a lot going on.
- 44:37SPEAKER_04: Um I want you to plug we we plugged the podcast, mentioned that.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: I want you to plug any shows you got coming up.
- 44:43SPEAKER_04: And dude, I want to also shout out Parlour Car because I dude, that was those were great shows.
- 44:48SPEAKER_05: Hey, so we're like kind of bringing it back a little bit.
- 44:49SPEAKER_05: Are you?
- 44:50SPEAKER_05: We did we did a pop-up like two weeks ago at Color Club up on Elston.
- 44:54SPEAKER_05: Um and I think we're gonna do some more.
- 44:56SPEAKER_05: We just have to like look at our schedules and make sure.
- 44:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Parlour Car is a show that Maddie ran for years, and you guys gotta check out their their content.
- 45:02SPEAKER_04: Maddie's got a bunch of Comedy Central stuff online, and uh Chris just post a special.
- 45:07SPEAKER_04: I really encourage you guys to check this stuff out.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: And uh yeah, Parlour Car is a show.
- 45:12SPEAKER_04: Where where was it at again?
- 45:13SPEAKER_05: It was at the uh the uh It was initially at Bar Deville for like four years, and then that building got sold, so the bar closed.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 45:19SPEAKER_05: And then we moved it to Sportsman's where we did like summer and fall shows and outdoor stuff.
- 45:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:25SPEAKER_05: Um we did three of those this past summer, and we're not sure it it is so much work to like set that back patio up and like basically build an outdoor comedy club that gets taken down at night.
- 45:37SPEAKER_05: And I don't know if we have that in us anymore.
- 45:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, right, right.
- 45:41SPEAKER_05: We might we're gonna we're gonna explore people coming up, right?
- 45:45SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that might be one of the moves too.
- 45:47SPEAKER_02: It's like because there are a lot of good young comedians that would be down.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: You think the scene is in good standing right now?
- 45:53SPEAKER_02: It's a it's okay.
- 45:54SPEAKER_05: They're taking it and running with it, but some in some direction, I think.
- 45:57SPEAKER_02: I think the scene's in good standing.
- 45:58SPEAKER_02: I I would say that there's some like a lot more like third cities now that have started to compete thoroughly with Chicago.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: Right, right.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: I think when I first Nashville, Austin, uh Atlanta, I mean Denver is pretty freaking good now, too.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:15SPEAKER_04: Minneapolis has always been good too.
- 46:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sure.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: So I think a lot of and with the internet, I think a lot of people have realized they don't necessarily like need to like go to one of the big cities where there's a bunch of competition to get good at it, you know.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: Um so I don't know.
- 46:28SPEAKER_02: I think the the scene's in good shape, but um I think like it could be better.
- 46:34SPEAKER_02: It w it used to be a little bit better, I think.
- 46:36SPEAKER_04: Well, I love that you guys are still here and yeah, I know we've been seeing each other for a long time.
- 46:42SPEAKER_04: I love that you got the podcast up and running.
- 46:44SPEAKER_04: I love that you're back in Chicago.
- 46:45SPEAKER_05: It's great to be back.
- 46:46SPEAKER_05: That's what like yeah, when I got back, I wasn't planning on moving back from New York that soon.
- 46:49SPEAKER_05: It was just for family stuff.
- 46:50SPEAKER_05: And then I got was stuck here to do some of the, you know, kind of fallout from the and I was like, let's fucking do a box, let's let's do some Chicago stuff.
- 46:59SPEAKER_02: And I I love this city, you know, fell in love with a girl from here who also like I call her like the Charlie Day of Chicago.
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: Is she a comic?
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: She's a comic, and it's also impossible to get her out of the city.
- 47:09SPEAKER_02: Um yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_02: So yeah.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: Is she from here?
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she's um so definitely uh see myself here for a very long time.
- 47:17SPEAKER_02: I love I love the city.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: I think it's one of the best.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: And there is no reason why the scene shouldn't be one of the better ones in the like in the country.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: I think it is.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think there's room for improvement.
- 47:26SPEAKER_02: No, I think we could be better than we could go back to being better than LA and New York and Austin and all that shit.
- 47:33SPEAKER_04: Um I just think that uh you worried about this relationship of his breaking up the buddy system?
- 47:37SPEAKER_04: No, it's part of the buddy system.
- 47:39SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:41SPEAKER_05: I was like, I'll fight her, but she would beat my ass for sure.
- 47:43SPEAKER_05: So she's also we have like the same color.
- 47:46SPEAKER_05: Push her into a pond.
- 47:47SPEAKER_05: True.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Good old Chris.
- 47:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a good tummy.
- 47:51SPEAKER_04: That's gotta be that should be your intro at all the shows.
- 47:55SPEAKER_04: What do you want me to say about you?
- 47:56SPEAKER_04: Tell them I pushed a girl into a pound.
- 47:58SPEAKER_05: I got my ass spake with a spoon.
- 48:02SPEAKER_02: Your headliner.
- 48:03SPEAKER_05: Why do I have an accent?
- 48:05SPEAKER_05: Your headline over here.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: Your headline over here, he fucking pushed a girl into a fucking pond, got spanked with a spoon, got his ass clapped with the opening.
- 48:17SPEAKER_05: You know what I'm saying?
- 48:18SPEAKER_05: Forget about it.
- 48:19SPEAKER_04: All right, guys.
- 48:20SPEAKER_04: That's Matty Ryan and Chris Higgins.
- 48:22SPEAKER_04: Uh, you guys are the best.
- 48:23SPEAKER_04: Really, thanks for coming in.
- 48:25SPEAKER_04: We appreciate you guys a lot.
- 48:26SPEAKER_04: Super good time.

- 48:30SPEAKER_04: Actually, we got a review.
- 48:32SPEAKER_04: We got a review last week.
- 48:33SPEAKER_04: I don't have my phone in front of me.
- 48:34SPEAKER_04: Uh, I also got a couple notes about the pod.
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: Some people are still discovering it.
- 48:39SPEAKER_04: Go back, listen to the previous episode.
- 48:41SPEAKER_04: Someone just texted me about G and Greco.
- 48:44SPEAKER_04: Like in that one.
- 48:45SPEAKER_04: That's an old one.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: Um, and uh don't forget to get some lotion.
