- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven eight and seven nine, an
- 0:16Speaker 1: intense battle Law versus Do Flamingo, and a decisive battle
- 0:21Speaker 1: against the executives Proud Hajhrudin. In these episodes, Loofy.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Manages to.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Handle fake Mingo, but it still doesn't really go the
- 0:39Speaker 1: way that he expects. Meanwhile, Zora is still over here
- 0:43Speaker 1: fighting Pica and there is a surprising result for Law
- 0:53Speaker 1: that I'm wondering how that's going to be dealt with.
- 0:57Speaker 1: It's I saw it coming and I just didn't want
- 0:59Speaker 1: to Welcome to spoil Me. Welcome to the show everyone.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I am Natasha. Thank you very much to Florian for
- 1:23Speaker 1: commissioning this episode. So, yeah, these two were continuing on
- 1:28Speaker 1: with the fights, and I will say that, you know,
- 1:31Speaker 1: there have been plenty of times where a single fight
- 1:35Speaker 1: has taken like twenty episodes to get through, and I
- 1:39Speaker 1: will start to get very, very tired of it. And
- 1:42Speaker 1: I have found myself pleasantly surprised that I am not
- 1:46Speaker 1: feeling that kind of like tedium from this fight. I
- 1:50Speaker 1: think that there's a number of factors going on here
- 1:55Speaker 1: that it's a combination of there being like some change
- 2:00Speaker 1: in the scenery, so to speak, when our friends are
- 2:05Speaker 1: when Lufy is like, you know, inside, and then he
- 2:08Speaker 1: winds up on the roof, and that just like gives
- 2:11Speaker 1: it enough of a change to make it feel like
- 2:13Speaker 1: we're progressing and doing something different. There's also like having
- 2:17Speaker 1: Bellamy in the mix as somebody who is being victimized
- 2:20Speaker 1: and also fighting adds a dimension of like, I want
- 2:26Speaker 1: Lufy to fix things with this guy first so that
- 2:32Speaker 1: he isn't hurting him, so it's not just like, you know,
- 2:37Speaker 1: we're dealing with both getting Bellamy out of the way
- 2:41Speaker 1: and also fake Do Flamingo and so all of this.
- 2:48Speaker 1: It's like, while it would often feel like we're just
- 2:52Speaker 1: setting up these mini bosses for him to get through,
- 2:55Speaker 1: YadA YadA, there is a certain amount of narrative satisfaction
- 3:02Speaker 1: in the fact that Law is the one fighting Do
- 3:04Speaker 1: Flamingo while Lufy is fighting the fake Because even though
- 3:08Speaker 1: I believe that in the end Lufy is going to
- 3:11Speaker 1: be clutch in defeating Do Flamingo, he doesn't have the
- 3:16Speaker 1: history with the guy that Law has, and it's really
- 3:22Speaker 1: difficult to like for me to feel the same sort
- 3:27Speaker 1: of I'm trying to think of the wording here. There
- 3:33Speaker 1: are some characters that it feels like have more of
- 3:35Speaker 1: a right to be fighting other characters, and Lufy fighting
- 3:41Speaker 1: Do Flamingo and going on for a while. There's just
- 3:46Speaker 1: a lack of like personal connection between them that would
- 3:51Speaker 1: keep that from being as interesting. So I think that overall,
- 3:58Speaker 1: even though this has been dragged on some time and
- 4:02Speaker 1: I could see certain people being irritated by it, overall,
- 4:06Speaker 1: I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised by how
- 4:12Speaker 1: cohesive it has all seemed, and how despite the fact
- 4:16Speaker 1: that it is going on a minute, it doesn't feel
- 4:19Speaker 1: like I'm rolling my eyes, going, oh my god, are
- 4:21Speaker 1: we fucking done yet?
- 4:22Speaker 2: You know. And it's really interesting to me.
- 4:27Speaker 1: To see the moments where the show manages to pull
- 4:29Speaker 1: this off versus when it doesn't, because it just feels
- 4:34Speaker 1: so much less lazy here because we have so much
- 4:39Speaker 1: establishing of the backstory between Do Flamingo and Law and like,
- 4:49Speaker 1: it's funny because there have been plenty of other times
- 4:54Speaker 1: where a character's backstory has been established with somebody and
- 4:59Speaker 1: it still kind of felt like nothing when they faced off,
- 5:03Speaker 1: And I think it's just that they really took their time,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and Law's storyline was rich enough, and the whole thing
- 5:11Speaker 1: with like Corassone, the series of tragedies that befell Law,
- 5:20Speaker 1: and then how pure hearted Corasone was, and the way
- 5:27Speaker 1: that do Flamingo just like disrespected him and didn't take
- 5:33Speaker 1: him seriously really.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Or like.
- 5:37Speaker 1: He just the way that he brushes off having murdered him.
- 5:47Speaker 1: There's just a lot more here that feels like better storytelling,
- 5:52Speaker 1: better put together, and it just all matters more.
- 5:57Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:59Speaker 1: So overall, I am still enjoying things, but I will
- 6:05Speaker 1: say at this point, I am about ready for us
- 6:09Speaker 1: to wrap this up. I think if this fight, like
- 6:13Speaker 1: the fight itself, not necessarily the arc, but the fight here,
- 6:18Speaker 1: if this goes on for like another six episodes, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: think I'm going to be.
- 6:23Speaker 2: About ready to get irritated. You know. I'm hoping.
- 6:30Speaker 1: We are approaching the actual end of it. So let's see.
- 6:37Speaker 1: So when we pick up here, we do a little bit,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know, of recovering old ground, as we do in
- 6:42Speaker 1: this show, with the reminder of the monkey D and
- 6:47Speaker 1: Law having the middle name D as well, and I
- 6:53Speaker 1: just the whole thing with D and when Dofla Mingo says, like.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Law says, I'm also a D. You're a D? Is
- 7:03Speaker 2: that what you mean?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, you guys. I'm sorry, but it's very
- 7:07Speaker 1: very funny. You think you can stop me because of
- 7:10Speaker 1: some letter.
- 7:11Speaker 2: In your name.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And honestly, I said this before. I just really feel
- 7:19Speaker 1: the same way that he does as at right now
- 7:23Speaker 1: because this whole thing with like the middle name being significant,
- 7:30Speaker 1: it just doesn't make any sense to me. You guys,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I just don't get this, and I feel like I
- 7:38Speaker 1: am missing something because it's being played around. Like you know,
- 7:43Speaker 1: we're on episode seven hundred now, we're finally finding out
- 7:46Speaker 1: what the alleged significance of the letter is where they're
- 7:50Speaker 1: supposed to be like the enemies of the gods or whatever.
- 7:53Speaker 1: But I still feel like that D. When it's a
- 7:59Speaker 1: middle name, you can give your kid whatever middle name.
- 8:02Speaker 3: And I I have faith that the show is eventually
- 8:09Speaker 3: going to give us an explanation on how the people
- 8:13Speaker 3: who got the middle name D got that D.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I'm so sorry, guys, but get that D. I just
- 8:20Speaker 2: it's very difficult.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sure we will get to a place where
- 8:28Speaker 1: this will be explained. I feel like waiting this long
- 8:34Speaker 1: is a mistake. I just don't think this question about
- 8:41Speaker 1: the middle name D is as interesting without any other
- 8:45Speaker 1: information as Oda seems to think it is. And I
- 8:49Speaker 1: wonder if I'm the only one that feels that way, because,
- 8:52Speaker 1: you know, I feel like there have been a few
- 8:55Speaker 1: times where you guys have been sure to point out
- 8:57Speaker 1: to me, I'll remember, his middle name has D in it,
- 8:59Speaker 1: and I've been like, oh yeah, and you've pointed it
- 9:02Speaker 1: out like this is something that really matters, and then
- 9:06Speaker 1: later on I've sort of been like, why did it matter?
- 9:10Speaker 1: You know, Like I get that it's clearly meant to
- 9:16Speaker 1: mean something, but it's been drawn out so much by
- 9:21Speaker 1: now and with no real explanation that makes sense or
- 9:25Speaker 1: works for me, and I just want more information that's
- 9:30Speaker 1: more than just like the legend around what it means. No, no, no,
- 9:34Speaker 1: the legend around what it means has very little to
- 9:37Speaker 1: do at this point with where my confusion is coming from.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Anybody on the face of Earth can have any middle
- 9:47Speaker 1: name they want, So if that's not the truth in
- 9:51Speaker 1: this world, and when I say they want, I mean
- 9:52Speaker 1: their parents obviously, but like, if that is or is
- 9:56Speaker 1: not true in Lufi's universe. Why or why not tell
- 10:02Speaker 1: me what the hell this? It just feels so arbitrary.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Is it supposed to be that somebody insists that their
- 10:09Speaker 1: child has the middle name D, so you can just
- 10:12Speaker 1: assign it, and then that person turns into the enemy
- 10:15Speaker 1: of the gods, whether they want it to be or not,
- 10:18Speaker 1: simply because of how like the naming convention that you chose.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Is it that the D is like magically assigned to
- 10:27Speaker 1: them by an angel that swoops down from heaven and
- 10:31Speaker 1: says that you have been impregnated by the Lord himself
- 10:34Speaker 1: and your child.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Has a middle name of D.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Like all of the way that the middle name thing
- 10:42Speaker 1: works is dumb and stupid and bad, and I really
- 10:47Speaker 1: don't want to feel like this anymore. But they keep
- 10:49Speaker 1: hammering away at it, and it's nothing right now, and
- 10:53Speaker 1: I am sick of hearing it unless you're actually going
- 10:56Speaker 1: to give me some real information on how this works,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you know. So it'd be one thing if it was
- 11:01Speaker 1: like everybody who has this birthmark, everybody who was born
- 11:06Speaker 1: with red eyes, something that's beyond your control, that feels
- 11:10Speaker 1: like fate. But a name that ties everybody together like
- 11:19Speaker 1: that can just be orchestrated by anybody that can be
- 11:23Speaker 1: there's and maybe that's the point. Maybe that's the point,
- 11:26Speaker 1: But it just feels like it's being spoken about here
- 11:28Speaker 1: as if it's somehow this like hallowed, sacred thing, which
- 11:33Speaker 1: doesn't feel like a guy just got a bunch of
- 11:36Speaker 1: women pregnant.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And told her to give the baby the middle name D.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Which that's the real thing that it feels like to
- 11:44Speaker 2: me right now.
- 11:47Speaker 1: So anyway, when I say that I'm like getting irritated
- 11:50Speaker 1: over this, it's not the tedium of the fight. It's
- 11:55Speaker 1: the fucking D thing that keeps coming up. So we
- 12:03Speaker 1: go on with this fight between Law and do Flamingo.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Law keeps getting close, he keeps almost landing his hits,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and at one point it's fucking Trouble, who somehow manages
- 12:22Speaker 1: to interfere and then like taunts Law really bad about
- 12:25Speaker 1: how like, oh, I thought you were gonna do something
- 12:27Speaker 1: really cool, but you didn't do anything.
- 12:29Speaker 4: What was that?
- 12:30Speaker 2: I bet you're real sad that you didn't hit Law? Hey, hey,
- 12:33Speaker 2: are you ignoring me? Not even gonna?
- 12:35Speaker 1: I swear to got to hate this guy so much.
- 12:38Speaker 1: I was watching this when Marshall came into the room,
- 12:42Speaker 1: and as when he saw Treble's face, he started cracking up.
- 12:46Speaker 1: He was just like, oh my god. I was like, yeah,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I hate him so much. And it was sort of
- 12:56Speaker 1: odd to me because I was expecting Do Flamingo to
- 12:58Speaker 1: be really annoyed with Trouble, but he seems fine with
- 13:01Speaker 1: him interfering, so I guess he doesn't have a whole
- 13:05Speaker 1: lot of pride on that particular point. So this is
- 13:12Speaker 1: when Law slices off a whole corner of the tower
- 13:15Speaker 1: of like the I say the tower. It's like he
- 13:17Speaker 1: slices off the corner of the building that has a
- 13:20Speaker 1: tower attached to it, and he starts to lift it
- 13:25Speaker 1: and to get it to like fall down on Do Flamingo,
- 13:28Speaker 1: and Dophie uses his strings to make like a smaller
- 13:33Speaker 1: dome around himself like the bird cage, but I think
- 13:35Speaker 1: he calls it spider web and stops it from actually
- 13:39Speaker 1: hitting and it breaks off into pieces. And at this
- 13:43Speaker 1: point they start to go up into the air to
- 13:46Speaker 1: do their fighting, and Law tries to do a shambles.
- 13:51Speaker 1: He reaches towards Do Flamingo and Dophie grabs his hand
- 13:56Speaker 1: and catches it in midair and says these pathetic attacks
- 14:03Speaker 1: degrade us both. You think you can just win because
- 14:08Speaker 1: you are so like pure of heart or so passionate
- 14:13Speaker 1: about it that is so sentimental. I thought that you
- 14:16Speaker 1: were a logical person, but you came in here instead
- 14:19Speaker 1: with emotion. And this is not going to cut it,
- 14:22Speaker 1: my friend. And as he's holding his hand in place,
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm seeing that he has lifted his foot and put
- 14:32Speaker 1: his foot.
- 14:33Speaker 2: On Law's arm, and I was.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Already like, oh no, because that really looks like he's
- 14:42Speaker 1: about to break.
- 14:42Speaker 2: His arm in half, you know.
- 14:45Speaker 1: And as he's doing this, he is reminding Law about
- 14:52Speaker 1: that note that he was given to hand off by
- 14:59Speaker 1: Corrasson and reminds him about the whole like, yeah, you
- 15:06Speaker 1: were the one who were tasked with this and then
- 15:09Speaker 1: everything went to hell because you gave it to the
- 15:13Speaker 1: wrong person. None of the tragedies that happened on Dress
- 15:18Speaker 1: Rosa would even have occurred if you were able to
- 15:22Speaker 1: do your job, you know, basically trying to sort of
- 15:28Speaker 1: get him to collapse from what do you call it from?
- 15:33Speaker 1: Like just discouragement and shame, which I suppose, but it
- 15:43Speaker 1: did feel kind of weak to me, and I was
- 15:45Speaker 1: relieved that what Law says in response, is you don't
- 15:51Speaker 1: even believe that? I felt like that was a pretty
- 15:54Speaker 1: good reply. It just felt very.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 16:00Speaker 1: It was almost as if he was repeating back to
- 16:02Speaker 1: Do Flamingo. This pathetic attack degrades us both, you know
- 16:07Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So anyway, I just really this moment
- 16:12Speaker 1: goes on for a minute, and then eventually when he
- 16:16Speaker 1: says like, you don't even believe that, he says, yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 1: no matter what, the throne would have still been mine,
- 16:21Speaker 1: still would have gotten dressed rose, I would have found
- 16:23Speaker 1: a way.
- 16:23Speaker 2: To make all of this happen.
- 16:24Speaker 1: I guess anyway, and then he gives him this big
- 16:33Speaker 1: smile and he begins to catapult them toward the ground
- 16:40Speaker 1: as he's talking about certain things that we do etch
- 16:44Speaker 1: our legacy in stone, and he's saying, like, what is
- 16:50Speaker 1: about to happen here today?
- 16:52Speaker 2: This is it for you?
- 16:53Speaker 1: And they land hard and you see laws like eyes widen,
- 16:58Speaker 1: and then the camera pulls back and his arm is
- 17:02Speaker 1: laying a foot away. I don't I'm assuming that the
- 17:07Speaker 1: what Do Flamingo did was like the string that was attached.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Oh strings, saw is what Treble says. Yeah, So once
- 17:14Speaker 1: they land because he has this leverage on him as
- 17:17Speaker 1: they hit the ground that slices Law's arm off. This
- 17:24Speaker 1: was surprisingly gruesome for this show. I was genuinely surprised.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I thought that because you know, I've said already about
- 17:37Speaker 1: how when what's his face is like got cut off Kiros,
- 17:40Speaker 1: it was like nothing. We barely treated it like it
- 17:43Speaker 1: was slowing him down. But here it's quite bloody and
- 17:49Speaker 1: he is just rolling around screaming for quite some time.
- 17:53Speaker 1: It really is pretty rough to watch, actually, but in
- 18:00Speaker 1: a way that I felt worked really well, and overall
- 18:05Speaker 1: I liked this scene.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I felt like.
- 18:09Speaker 1: It.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I still believe that we're coming out on top, but.
- 18:12Speaker 1: This is a huge wound to sustain, and it's enough
- 18:18Speaker 1: to make me worry whether or not his power is
- 18:21Speaker 1: going to be quite usable. I'm assuming that he can
- 18:24Speaker 1: do plenty of it without both hands, but I'm not
- 18:27Speaker 1: totally sure how that works. And there's just a it
- 18:35Speaker 1: feels like we are really paying a price here in
- 18:39Speaker 1: a way that sometimes this show has trouble nailing that vibe,
- 18:45Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So I just personally really
- 18:49Speaker 1: really appreciated feeling like this is a this is real,
- 18:54Speaker 1: We're having a loss that feels significant, and that's all
- 19:04Speaker 1: I ask for most of the time is a sense
- 19:08Speaker 1: of real what's the word I want here? Real stakes.
- 19:14Speaker 1: That's the thing that I can find the most difficult
- 19:18Speaker 1: with this show is I can accept that people are
- 19:21Speaker 1: mostly not going to die, but then we need to
- 19:23Speaker 1: have some real consequences. And I hope very very much
- 19:29Speaker 1: that we are not going to get a hole. Oh
- 19:32Speaker 1: he like we managed to give him a fake arm.
- 19:36Speaker 2: That's just as good.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Well, look, I'm not trying to say that wouldn't be
- 19:40Speaker 1: like a fair storytelling thing. What I'm saying is there
- 19:44Speaker 1: are times within stories where what feels like should be
- 19:48Speaker 1: a significant loss is played as if once we find
- 19:53Speaker 1: a solution, that loss never occurred at all. I am
- 19:57Speaker 1: hoping that this loss continues to feel as significant as
- 20:02Speaker 1: it seems. But it's possible that like Frankie is going
- 20:07Speaker 1: to fix him up and he's going to go right
- 20:10Speaker 1: back to how things were, just with a new arm,
- 20:12Speaker 1: and he'll be totally fine. And I don't think that
- 20:15Speaker 1: that would necessarily make this sacrifice nothing. I would like
- 20:21Speaker 1: for there to feel like there's a difference in his life, though,
- 20:25Speaker 1: that he really did sacrifice something real and it was
- 20:31Speaker 1: in exchange for something significant that mattered to him. That's
- 20:36Speaker 1: all I'm asking. So overall this moment, I really really enjoyed.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I was sort of expecting Loofy to like talk more
- 20:49Speaker 1: about that once he came up onto the roof and
- 20:51Speaker 1: saw it, but he is a little distracted. So that's understandable.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So let's talk about Loufy and Bellamy, because we get
- 21:01Speaker 1: to this place where Bellamy is, you know, he's still
- 21:05Speaker 1: like being controlled to fight Lufy, and it's so sad
- 21:12Speaker 1: because what Bellamy eventually come like decides is I want
- 21:21Speaker 1: you to kill me. I am so sure that there
- 21:26Speaker 1: is no like end of this for me. I am
- 21:29Speaker 1: just suffering. Just let me die. And Lufy of course,
- 21:35Speaker 1: refuses to do that. He says, I'm kicking one ass
- 21:39Speaker 1: mingos and the real one, not that puppet. Meanwhile, Bellamy
- 21:44Speaker 1: is saying, I'm begging you, I'm you know you please,
- 21:48Speaker 1: you can end my suffering.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Why would you make me suffer like this? Just let
- 21:52Speaker 2: it end?
- 21:53Speaker 1: A compelling argument, I have to admit. He starts to
- 21:56Speaker 1: get like tears in his eyes, and for a second
- 21:59Speaker 1: I kind of wonder to Lufy was going to do
- 22:01Speaker 1: it because he seemed so shaken by it. But then
- 22:08Speaker 1: fake do Flamingo bashes the two of them apart and
- 22:13Speaker 1: grabs him by the head and says, you really are useless,
- 22:16Speaker 1: aren't you? As a pirate and now as a puppet too,
- 22:22Speaker 1: And he starts to taunt Lufy holds him up and
- 22:28Speaker 1: just just like, yeah, why don't you do it? Why
- 22:30Speaker 1: don't you go ahead and fucking put him out of
- 22:31Speaker 1: his misery then and sort of like shoves him Bellamy
- 22:36Speaker 1: toward Loofy, and then there's this odd sort of effect
- 22:40Speaker 1: where both of them they're like silhouettes in the animation
- 22:45Speaker 1: multiply for a second and both he and Lufy have
- 22:49Speaker 1: this happen. I wasn't totally sure if that was supposed
- 22:52Speaker 1: to indicate something with Hockey or if that's just you know,
- 22:56Speaker 1: a stylistic like, oh, and now they're facing off kind
- 22:58Speaker 1: of moment, But it felt like it meant something, and
- 23:01Speaker 1: I really wasn't sure what. So I am only briefly
- 23:07Speaker 1: going to talk about what's going on with Zorro and
- 23:09Speaker 1: Pica because we have a couple of other characters jumping
- 23:12Speaker 1: in on this one.
- 23:14Speaker 2: There is this.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Point where all of these soldiers are hanging around there.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I say soldiers because that makes it sound like they're
- 23:22Speaker 1: on the side of like the Marines, but these are
- 23:24Speaker 1: guys that work for Do Flamingo, so they are on
- 23:29Speaker 1: Pika's side really, and they aren't sure how the battle
- 23:35Speaker 1: is going between Pica and Zorro, and they're sort of
- 23:37Speaker 1: feeling like maybe if they can help out, they will
- 23:41Speaker 1: come over and throw in.
- 23:43Speaker 2: On this fight.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And at one point it's very funny because Pica sort
- 23:47Speaker 1: of is beginning to like dart around and mix it
- 23:51Speaker 1: up a little bit with Zorro, and I won't go
- 23:55Speaker 1: so far as to say he's playing hide and seek,
- 23:57Speaker 1: but it seems like he's just more trying to prove
- 24:00Speaker 1: that just because Zorro knows how to fight him doesn't
- 24:03Speaker 1: mean that that's the end of it. And as Zoro
- 24:07Speaker 1: is chasing him, he runs into some of these peons
- 24:13Speaker 1: who very amusingly, in my opinion, say something like, hey you,
- 24:23Speaker 1: that's this is the end of the line for you.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Why don't you just give up?
- 24:28Speaker 1: And it's so hysterically funny to me that these guys
- 24:32Speaker 1: would genuinely and with their whole throats say we will
- 24:38Speaker 1: take care of you, even though Peka the giant stone monster.
- 24:47Speaker 1: He wasn't able.
- 24:48Speaker 2: To do it, but will do it? Guys, no offense,
- 24:56Speaker 2: No you won't.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I'm sure you're very hard workers. I have no doubt
- 25:02Speaker 1: that you are doing your best. But you really think
- 25:08Speaker 1: that these two forces of nature colliding over here that
- 25:13Speaker 1: have failed to take one another down, your little scrawny
- 25:18Speaker 1: ass is off to the side, that you're gonna be
- 25:21Speaker 1: the ones to do it?
- 25:23Speaker 2: Really? Is that? Come now?
- 25:28Speaker 1: It was just honestly embarrassing, and of course, like it's
- 25:33Speaker 1: they are taken care of, but it's not even Zoro
- 25:37Speaker 1: that winds up doing it. So there's this pirate that
- 25:42Speaker 1: comes rolling up, and it was so odd because at
- 25:46Speaker 1: first I couldn't remember whose side he was on, right,
- 25:50Speaker 1: So he just yells out to these guys. I'm trying
- 25:54Speaker 1: to remember what he says exactly, something like form up commodore.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Dignity is his name, I believe, and he says a ten.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And as he says this, all of the dudes just
- 26:10Speaker 1: immediately stand to attention. I was thinking that he was
- 26:18Speaker 1: like an intimidating figure of dopies, and they see him
- 26:22Speaker 1: coming and he gives an order and they just do
- 26:24Speaker 1: what they're fucking told because he said too and that
- 26:28Speaker 1: it was that simple. And it wasn't until a little
- 26:31Speaker 1: bit later when I realized that they are being controlled
- 26:37Speaker 1: by him. So they all stand up straight, and he says,
- 26:40Speaker 1: count off, and they all count down to ten, and
- 26:49Speaker 1: one of them starts saying, no, sir, please have mercy
- 26:52Speaker 1: on me. No, And he picks that guy up, rolls
- 26:56Speaker 1: him up in a ball, and chucks him while yelling
- 27:02Speaker 1: killer bowling, and flings that man at his fellows like
- 27:08Speaker 1: a bowling ball, and that man knocks all of those
- 27:13Speaker 1: men off their feet and they go flying. Now, guys,
- 27:23Speaker 1: I don't want to go so far as to say
- 27:26Speaker 1: that this is utter and total nonsense.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I feel like it is, but I don't want to
- 27:35Speaker 2: say it.
- 27:38Speaker 1: But first of all, he calls it killer bowling, and
- 27:44Speaker 1: nobody died, and I'm gonna be real, I don't see
- 27:47Speaker 1: how they would have. There's nothing in this attack that
- 27:50Speaker 1: feels to me like it would have actually ended in
- 27:54Speaker 1: anybody's death. So for me, that part is just like irrelevant.
- 28:04Speaker 1: I just feel like the the way that like Zorro
- 28:12Speaker 1: swings past him and it's like, hey, nice one, I
- 28:18Speaker 1: suppose I mean I'm glad the guy helped.
- 28:20Speaker 2: It just feels like such a.
- 28:22Speaker 1: Weird moment, like is the guy actually making these dudes
- 28:28Speaker 1: stand to attention or is he just so forceful in
- 28:33Speaker 1: the way that he handles himself and says the thing
- 28:36Speaker 1: that they snap to attention because he carries a weight
- 28:42Speaker 1: of authority to his voice. Maybe that's supposed to be
- 28:47Speaker 1: what it is.
- 28:49Speaker 2: I really am not sure.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I wish I knew a little bit more about like
- 28:53Speaker 1: how this worked. But all this to say, he takes
- 28:59Speaker 1: care of these guys, and it says, my oh, his
- 29:03Speaker 1: name is or Lumbus. If this battle were at sea,
- 29:06Speaker 1: I would have rained terror upon my foes with my fleet.
- 29:10Speaker 1: But since I'm short handed, I'll have to leave that
- 29:12Speaker 1: stone monster to you. And Zorro says, no problem. He's
- 29:18Speaker 1: still looking for Pika, who winds up sticking his head
- 29:22Speaker 1: out of the side of the whole mountain. It turns
- 29:26Speaker 1: out that he's like taken over the entire plateau basically,
- 29:33Speaker 1: and he starts laughing, and Zoro makes fun of his laugh,
- 29:38Speaker 1: and it's just like, I am so sorry, there is
- 29:40Speaker 1: no way that's your real laugh. That sounds insane, That
- 29:43Speaker 1: is nonsense, and Pica gets real mad and tries to
- 29:47Speaker 1: like thrust this pillar of stone out at him. But
- 29:51Speaker 1: the thing is that, like, despite this guy being very huge,
- 29:54Speaker 1: his movements being as slow as they are, are pretty
- 29:57Speaker 1: easy to avoid. I think that's really the problem here
- 30:01Speaker 1: with the scale of his attacks. It's just like you
- 30:04Speaker 1: could see it coming from a mile away, like almost
- 30:07Speaker 1: literally a mile away. So let's see, I'm going so okay.
- 30:16Speaker 1: At the end of this episode is the point where
- 30:19Speaker 1: Lufy finally decides that he's going to go for second gear.
- 30:23Speaker 1: Bellamy is like running at him, and Lufy leaps over
- 30:27Speaker 1: his head, puts his hand on Bellamy's head for like
- 30:30Speaker 1: a push of leverage, and then does gum gum red
- 30:34Speaker 1: hawk and he comes straight at fake Mingo and uses
- 30:39Speaker 1: hockey to reinforce his punch, and he punches Mingo Fake
- 30:45Speaker 1: Mingo in the gut, and the dude begins to unravel
- 30:50Speaker 1: from the spot where he has been punched. Honestly, it
- 30:55Speaker 1: was very satisfying.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I liked this moment.
- 30:58Speaker 1: It's just like, even though this isn't the real Mingo,
- 31:03Speaker 1: he still has the same fucking attitude and the same
- 31:06Speaker 1: like snotty little pissy tone of voice. And whatnot, and
- 31:13Speaker 1: I was very sick of hearing his shit.
- 31:18Speaker 2: So he gets he.
- 31:23Speaker 1: It takes a while, like he starts to unravel, but
- 31:25Speaker 1: Lufy winds up having to like punch him apart, which
- 31:30Speaker 1: that goes on for a while where he's doing that
- 31:32Speaker 1: like gatling gun thing. I do wonder because Bellamy's on
- 31:36Speaker 1: the ground watching him do it the whole time, and
- 31:38Speaker 1: I was like, does Bellamy what does that even look
- 31:41Speaker 1: like to him?
- 31:41Speaker 2: You know?
- 31:43Speaker 1: And as Lufy is doing this up on the roof
- 31:46Speaker 1: Dofel Mingo is getting ready to execute law and he's
- 31:50Speaker 1: talking about how he has a lead bullet in his
- 31:52Speaker 1: gun and you know, the whole fucking nine yards and
- 31:56Speaker 1: then just as he is about to pull the trigger,
- 32:00Speaker 1: and fake Mingo comes shooting up like through the roof
- 32:05Speaker 1: and ascend into the air in this cloud and do Flamingo,
- 32:11Speaker 1: thoroughly distracted, looks up to see the fake version of
- 32:15Speaker 1: himself shattering into a bunch of pieces, and I can't
- 32:19Speaker 1: help but laugh about how Trouble is just like, oh no, oh,
- 32:23Speaker 1: he's in a bunch of pieces, and he's just like
- 32:25Speaker 1: this is awful. He got busted up, And I was like,
- 32:29Speaker 1: is it that awful, Like it's not even the real Mingo,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and I'm assuming that he can make another one. Maybe
- 32:35Speaker 1: he can't do it that easily. Maybe this is like
- 32:38Speaker 1: a project for him, and that's why the trouble just
- 32:42Speaker 1: seems to react so strongly in a way that I
- 32:44Speaker 1: was sort of like relax, buddy, and.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Dol fla.
- 32:52Speaker 1: Mingo, for his part, says, I suppose the cage was
- 32:55Speaker 1: a bit too small. I should have known you wouldn't
- 32:58Speaker 1: be so easy to Lufy meanwhile, is like, are you
- 33:03Speaker 1: fucking listening? Oh my god, I'm talking to you. And
- 33:07Speaker 1: because he said, now it's time for us to fight,
- 33:10Speaker 1: let's fucking get down to it. So we jump into
- 33:15Speaker 1: the next episode and we have a flashback here this
- 33:21Speaker 1: was oh uh, it's started by do Flamingo like comes
- 33:26Speaker 1: over to the area, Like I'm trying to see the
- 33:32Speaker 1: spot exactly how this happens, because Looviy briefly is on
- 33:36Speaker 1: the roof and he's yelling at do Flamingo right, and
- 33:40Speaker 1: then all of a sudden, when we start the next episode,
- 33:46Speaker 1: he's down below again.
- 33:49Speaker 2: I don't understand if I.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Miss something, because I'm like going back and rewatching this
- 33:54Speaker 1: now and it looks like we go straight. Maybe he
- 33:57Speaker 1: didn't get up on the roof that time. I thought
- 34:00Speaker 1: that he followed fake Dophie out and then landed on
- 34:03Speaker 1: the roof after the pieces fell down. I could have sworn,
- 34:08Speaker 1: but he's down with Bellamy still. When the second episode opens,
- 34:14Speaker 1: and it's this weird thing where, first of all, there's
- 34:19Speaker 1: one of the most devastating lines here, you guys, where
- 34:24Speaker 1: Lufy is saying, you've got to stop it enough for this,
- 34:28Speaker 1: let him go. Doffl Mingo says, you don't have to
- 34:33Speaker 1: yell like that.
- 34:34Speaker 2: I can hear you, and.
- 34:36Speaker 1: Lufy says Mingo, come on, let Bellamy go. He's gonna die,
- 34:43Speaker 1: and doffl Mingo says, oh, I didn't realize he was
- 34:47Speaker 1: still alive, you guys. That absolutely shredded me. I don't
- 35:00Speaker 1: know why that one got me so bad, but like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: I just thought he was a corpse that I was
- 35:05Speaker 1: using to fight you, and I was fine with that
- 35:08Speaker 1: he's still alive. Interesting, I suppose it, like there's just
- 35:15Speaker 1: something about it that's so.
- 35:18Speaker 2: Friggin cold blooded. I was not ready. Oh God, that
- 35:28Speaker 2: one got me.
- 35:29Speaker 1: That really did. And the way that Bellamy reacts when
- 35:34Speaker 1: he says that because like dol Flamingo is smiling when
- 35:37Speaker 1: he says it, and I feel like this is maybe
- 35:40Speaker 1: the most intense evidence that Del Flamingo does not care
- 35:46Speaker 1: about him, and the fact that Bellamy is still out
- 35:49Speaker 1: here looking for like validation. It's really sad. So Dol
- 35:55Speaker 1: Flamingo releases.
- 35:57Speaker 2: Him and says, it's fine, I've had my fun.
- 36:02Speaker 1: You're free of me for now, just like you've always
- 36:06Speaker 1: been right. And Bellamy gets this expression on his face
- 36:12Speaker 1: when he says that, And this is when we start
- 36:15Speaker 1: the flashback, and we find out that Bellamy, way back
- 36:20Speaker 1: when came to Dol Flamingo wanting to be a part
- 36:23Speaker 1: of his crew, and dol Flamingo said that he could
- 36:26Speaker 1: fly his Jolly Roger if he wanted, but if you
- 36:33Speaker 1: are ever defeated, you have to give it up. And
- 36:38Speaker 1: he immediately agrees and is like, yeah, no problem, nobody's
- 36:42Speaker 1: ever gonna beat me. And then of course we have
- 36:45Speaker 1: the flashback of how he got so roundly beaten by
- 36:52Speaker 1: Loofy and.
- 36:55Speaker 2: I had forgotten how like completely.
- 37:02Speaker 1: You know, I don't like to use this word because
- 37:04Speaker 1: it's an old word that was used by a lot
- 37:08Speaker 1: of fucking goobers. So I shy away from it, but
- 37:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna use it here because I just don't really
- 37:14Speaker 1: think there's a better way of saying this. I had
- 37:20Speaker 1: forgotten how thoroughly fucking poned he got by Loofy, because
- 37:28Speaker 1: we get the flashback to him with his freaking bouncy
- 37:34Speaker 1: spring power, you know, and he puts on this fucking
- 37:43Speaker 1: performance of bouncing all over the freaking place until Lufy
- 37:48Speaker 1: just with a single punch like stops him mid air.
- 37:52Speaker 2: He's what he's trying.
- 37:54Speaker 1: To do in the scene is to disorient Loofy, and
- 37:59Speaker 1: it's like it clearly just didn't work at all, and
- 38:03Speaker 1: in such a way as to be like, oh man,
- 38:07Speaker 1: that was embarrassing to see how much you underestimated that kid.
- 38:12Speaker 1: That wasn't even close to working, you know.
- 38:15Speaker 2: So as this is.
- 38:16Speaker 1: All like being remembered, Lufi is asking him, hey, man,
- 38:21Speaker 1: are you okay? Like I know that you're fucked up
- 38:24Speaker 1: in everything, but are you going to be able to
- 38:27Speaker 1: make it? And then we have him like talking to
- 38:34Speaker 1: Lufy at the coliseum and the things that he said
- 38:37Speaker 1: there and talking about his hockey powers, et cetera, and
- 38:45Speaker 1: going back to do Flamingo and once again asking him,
- 38:49Speaker 1: have I done enough to earn being on your crew yet?
- 38:52Speaker 1: And I have forgotten. I don't like I keep forgetting
- 38:55Speaker 1: whether or not I've talked about Do Flamingo's saying, what
- 39:00Speaker 1: I want to do is destroy this world because it's
- 39:02Speaker 1: the only thing that the dragons value.
- 39:04Speaker 2: So that's why I'm doing.
- 39:05Speaker 1: It, And it's the sort of motivation that I feel
- 39:09Speaker 1: like is stupid but also believable. There are times where
- 39:13Speaker 1: something feels stupid in a way that's like, I don't
- 39:16Speaker 1: feel like any person would ever act this way, but
- 39:20Speaker 1: I then there are times where something is stupid in
- 39:24Speaker 1: a well, yeah, that's stupid in the way that people
- 39:26Speaker 1: are stupid. That's stupid in a believable way. I personally like.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Even though Do Flamingo's desire to destroy the world would
- 39:39Speaker 1: also destroy himself, I'm sure that he, like isn't intending
- 39:44Speaker 1: on it being that kind of destruction, you know. I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: sure he thinks that he would be able to hold
- 39:51Speaker 1: himself separate from it and rule over.
- 39:54Speaker 2: The ashes, so to speak. And also, just.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Your whole life revolve around other people's desires, and wanting
- 40:03Speaker 1: to take them away from them is sort of pathetic.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I must say.
- 40:14Speaker 1: So there is an element here where I think do
- 40:18Speaker 1: Flamingo wants to be this badass who's untouched by the
- 40:26Speaker 1: cold heartedness of his family, but doesn't seem to see that. Actually,
- 40:35Speaker 1: we can see how hurt you are. It's very clear
- 40:39Speaker 1: that you feel sad about this and it's bothering you.
- 40:44Speaker 1: And I just think that he doesn't really clock how
- 40:48Speaker 1: like vulnerable this makes him look. And that's often the way, right,
- 40:57Speaker 1: Like you are trying to do something to maintain an image,
- 41:02Speaker 1: and in doing that thing, you don't realize that you
- 41:06Speaker 1: have ruined that image and it's impossible for you to
- 41:09Speaker 1: repair it. And like, evidently the image is still intact
- 41:15Speaker 1: because other people follow him and believe you know what
- 41:17Speaker 1: I mean. So anyway, the coming.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Back to.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Bellamy, he's on the ground, bleeding and thinking back on
- 41:33Speaker 1: his life, and Lufy's like, hey, I'm sorry, I've got
- 41:36Speaker 1: to leave you here for now. I'm real worried about Traffy.
- 41:39Speaker 1: The real Mingo and snot Guy are up there. They're
- 41:42Speaker 1: too strong. He needs my help. I'll give Mingo an
- 41:46Speaker 1: extra kick in the ass for you, okay, And then
- 41:49Speaker 1: he starts to run away, and Bellamy says, hold on,
- 41:53Speaker 1: you remember this technique. It's been a while. And he
- 41:57Speaker 1: begins to make his legs into springs, which I was
- 42:00Speaker 1: kind of surprised that hadn't shown up earlier. But I
- 42:03Speaker 1: guess if Mingo's controlling you, he can't necessarily activate your
- 42:06Speaker 1: double fruit powers like on your behalf. So he sits up,
- 42:12Speaker 1: he does the spring legs, and he's looking at Loufy
- 42:15Speaker 1: and I'm watching him and I'm just like, I can't
- 42:18Speaker 1: tell what you're about to do here, Brauh is it like.
- 42:22Speaker 2: That you are trying? Are you going to attack him now?
- 42:26Speaker 2: Is that what you're about to do?
- 42:28Speaker 1: And he says, all right, spring hop and he goes
- 42:32Speaker 1: up against the wall up to the ceiling, rolls around
- 42:36Speaker 1: a minute, considering how fucking destroyed he looks.
- 42:40Speaker 2: He's he's somewhat.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Uh what's the word, I want limber spry. I guess, yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 1: he's really And he's doing the same thing where he
- 42:53Speaker 1: performs for Lufy. He got stronger since last time, but
- 42:55Speaker 1: I got stronger too. You want to see destructive power,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I've taken this to the max. And as he's bouncing
- 43:05Speaker 1: around this hallway around Lufy, who was just watching him,
- 43:08Speaker 1: like what the fuck.
- 43:09Speaker 2: Are you even doing? My guy?
- 43:13Speaker 1: We jump away for a moment, but I'm gonna stick
- 43:15Speaker 1: with this because obviously, God, I'm trying to remember where
- 43:23Speaker 1: this goes, because like, we don't wrap this up, do we?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, we don't. You guys, it feels like
- 43:35Speaker 1: he's about to attack Loofy here. I can't make myself
- 43:43Speaker 1: believe that. I just don't think.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I believe that.
- 43:51Speaker 1: I think that he's showing off and that he is
- 43:53Speaker 1: going to try and take it out on do Flamingo.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I'll be honest, there's a part of me that does
- 44:03Speaker 1: kind of want him to keep trying to impress to Flamingo.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Not because I think that's the smart thing to do
- 44:09Speaker 1: at all, please understand, but.
- 44:12Speaker 4: Because I I sometimes enjoy stories about people who are hopeless.
- 44:24Speaker 2: You know this, Like it would be a very sort
- 44:27Speaker 2: of what do you call it? It would be a
- 44:31Speaker 2: very Sopranos thing.
- 44:32Speaker 1: To do to have the guy who seems like he
- 44:38Speaker 1: has been given every reason to abandon someone actually continue
- 44:45Speaker 1: to stick by them in a way that they probably
- 44:48Speaker 1: have not earned. So I really don't want the thing,
- 44:56Speaker 1: but there is like a part of me that weirdly
- 45:00Speaker 1: thirsts for it.
- 45:01Speaker 2: And I can't.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Explain it, and I won't explain it, so I hope
- 45:07Speaker 1: that you guys understand that.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 45:12Speaker 1: This uh we cut from there to Baby five and
- 45:20Speaker 1: you guys, this is.
- 45:22Speaker 2: One of my favorite tropes ever.
- 45:27Speaker 1: So Baby five is fighting this guy and she finally
- 45:34Speaker 1: says that's enough already, and her face is all blushy,
- 45:39Speaker 1: and he's sort of like, what what do you mean?
- 45:41Speaker 1: And she lowers her weapon and she says, just tell me.
- 45:48Speaker 1: Is it true the way that you feel about me?
- 45:52Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 45:54Speaker 1: Because if you are, why are you beating around the
- 45:57Speaker 1: bush so much? Be honest with me and her she's
- 46:03Speaker 1: crying as she says this, and this guy says, I
- 46:06Speaker 1: don't know what you're talking about, and she says, don't
- 46:08Speaker 1: play dumb, and we have the flashback of him saying
- 46:14Speaker 1: this next blow will strike you straight through your heart,
- 46:19Speaker 1: and she says to him, you said you were aiming
- 46:21Speaker 1: for my heart and then he says, I'll hold this
- 46:25Speaker 1: hand till you die, because her hand had been transformed
- 46:31Speaker 1: into a deadly weapon, and she says, you wanted to
- 46:35Speaker 1: hold hands for our whole life, and then he says,
- 46:41Speaker 1: don't want to lose you on this one as he's
- 46:43Speaker 1: chasing after her, and she says and that you never
- 46:46Speaker 1: want to lose me, right, And this guy genuinely seems
- 46:52Speaker 1: to not know what to say, like how how do
- 46:55Speaker 1: you react? How do you play it? And she puts
- 46:59Speaker 1: away her weapon entirely and says, if your feelings for
- 47:02Speaker 1: me really are that strong, then I don't care if
- 47:05Speaker 1: we're enemies or not. And she balls her hand up
- 47:11Speaker 1: and says, I understand you need me, don't you. This
- 47:20Speaker 1: is so fucking funny, guys. I have always been a
- 47:27Speaker 1: huge fan of whenever a person is like coming at
- 47:32Speaker 1: things from a certain point of view and then it
- 47:34Speaker 1: turns out they were really misunderstanding because they had that
- 47:39Speaker 1: point of view. So when you get like the context
- 47:42Speaker 1: of what was actually happening, you find out they really
- 47:46Speaker 1: had the wrong idea, but you can understand why they
- 47:49Speaker 1: had the wrong idea. This is one of my favorite
- 47:55Speaker 1: versions of that, which is a person assigning romantic thing
- 48:01Speaker 1: to something where there isn't one, and one of my
- 48:07Speaker 1: favorite clips. I actually shared this in the discord not
- 48:10Speaker 1: that long ago, because there was somebody sharing how they
- 48:14Speaker 1: have a friend who has worryingly begun to turn to
- 48:18Speaker 1: AI for confirmation that this guy she works with has
- 48:22Speaker 1: a crush on her, and so she's like feeding their
- 48:26Speaker 1: conversation into the AI and asking, doesn't it sound like
- 48:30Speaker 1: he's in love with me? And the AI is saying
- 48:32Speaker 1: it does sound like that. And then she's going to
- 48:34Speaker 1: this person and saying, see, the AI said that he
- 48:36Speaker 1: loves me, and they aren't showing my friend the transcript
- 48:41Speaker 1: or anything, so of course this person is just like,
- 48:44Speaker 1: I'm sure whatever they are saying is very very skewed
- 48:49Speaker 1: when they enter it into the AI to begin with.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Never mind the fact that the AI is AI, which
- 48:57Speaker 1: means that it does not know about emotion or how
- 49:01Speaker 1: to like, that's not even part of this. And I
- 49:07Speaker 1: shared in response a clip from Community where Annie says
- 49:13Speaker 1: something to Jeff about like when are we going to
- 49:15Speaker 1: deal with you and me? And he's like, what do
- 49:19Speaker 1: you mean you and me? And she says, you know,
- 49:24Speaker 1: the Annie of it all the will they won't they
- 49:27Speaker 1: the stolen glances, And then there's this montage of her
- 49:33Speaker 1: and Jeff interacting, but it's all got that song playing
- 49:40Speaker 1: over it. Their interactions are slowed down so we're all
- 49:43Speaker 1: in slow mo and the camera zooming in in certain places,
- 49:47Speaker 1: and then the song that's playing is that something always
- 49:52Speaker 1: brings me back to you, you know that fucking never
- 49:57Speaker 1: tasts too long, and it is all with this like
- 50:04Speaker 1: fuzzy sort of glow to make it really seem like
- 50:08Speaker 1: they're having these romantic moments. And then it comes back
- 50:12Speaker 1: and Jeff is looking at her and he says, Annie,
- 50:15Speaker 1: I think you're reading into some things, and she's like
- 50:18Speaker 1: I am not, and he's.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Like, no, you are that.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Oh that could work even if you did it with
- 50:25Speaker 1: like Ahbed and Pierce, and so they do. They have
- 50:29Speaker 1: that same music playing over a scene between Ahbed and Pierce,
- 50:33Speaker 1: and it's like it does. Obviously, there isn't the same
- 50:38Speaker 1: level of chemistry, as Avid points out, between him and
- 50:41Speaker 1: Peers as there is between Annie and Jeff, but it's
- 50:45Speaker 1: still definitely like making the point. And I just love
- 50:53Speaker 1: Baby Five's whole like character thing being her obsession with
- 51:00Speaker 1: like men in general and always feeling like they are
- 51:04Speaker 1: telling her that they need her or want her or
- 51:07Speaker 1: can't live without her. This is a very real phenomenon that, like,
- 51:16Speaker 1: I know, this is obviously an extreme version of it,
- 51:20Speaker 1: but I have met a lot of people like this,
- 51:24Speaker 1: not just women, but just people who their sense of
- 51:30Speaker 1: identity is so tied up in like having a love
- 51:35Speaker 1: interest and whatever gender they're into thinks of them.
- 51:41Speaker 2: And it really like this, this moment with the.
- 51:50Speaker 1: I honestly I wouldn't be mad if we got a
- 51:52Speaker 1: lot more of this. I know that it's probably kind
- 51:55Speaker 1: of an easy joke. I'm sure that there are people
- 51:58Speaker 1: out there that are like with this already, and I
- 52:01Speaker 1: get it, But like you could have Baby five having
- 52:06Speaker 1: a moment like this in literally every episode.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I'm not sure that I would be mad over it.
- 52:13Speaker 1: I kind of think I'd be fine with it. It's
- 52:16Speaker 1: just like she's so earnest about it. I think that's
- 52:21Speaker 1: a part of it as well, is that it's not
- 52:24Speaker 1: just her being like, oh, I think he has a
- 52:27Speaker 1: crush on me, like a little sort of getting full
- 52:29Speaker 1: of herself over nothing. We have had plenty of characters
- 52:32Speaker 1: that have been like, oh, you're saying this because I'm
- 52:35Speaker 1: so handsome, you know, and it's done in a very
- 52:39Speaker 1: sort of light hearted, Oh you're an idiot, but I'm
- 52:41Speaker 1: ignoring you kind of way. I think it's the earnestness
- 52:46Speaker 1: of these moments with her that bring that comedy element
- 52:50Speaker 1: so hard and the tears in her eyes and her
- 52:54Speaker 1: acting like it's us against the world. Baby, you know,
- 52:59Speaker 1: I fucking love it. I really love it. And I
- 53:06Speaker 1: I kind of like she's one of my favorite characters
- 53:08Speaker 1: at this point because this is so silly. I just anyway,
- 53:12Speaker 1: all right, let's go back to Hajrudin aka Macha Man
- 53:16Speaker 1: Randy Savage, and he and Mackweiss are fighting and Mackweiss
- 53:21Speaker 1: keeps just doing his canniball thing landing on him, and
- 53:23Speaker 1: I was very disappointed that Heshrudin is getting creamed basically,
- 53:30Speaker 1: like he just keeps getting smoothed into the ground over
- 53:33Speaker 1: and over again. And I was like, oh, this guy. Yeah,
- 53:39Speaker 1: I'm sure that his attacks are intense, but also, bruh,
- 53:44Speaker 1: you should be able to do a little bit better.
- 53:46Speaker 2: I expected more from you.
- 53:49Speaker 1: And then that is basically what Hashruden says himself is
- 53:58Speaker 1: like you said you oh the straw hats, and then
- 54:01Speaker 1: this is the performance you give.
- 54:03Speaker 2: This is the best you could do.
- 54:05Speaker 1: This is sad, bruh, Like I owe these people my
- 54:11Speaker 1: life and I am really.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Not bringing it right now. I need to represent more.
- 54:18Speaker 2: What is this? Get it together guy?
- 54:21Speaker 1: It's like a pep talk where he's sort of slapping
- 54:23Speaker 1: himself in the face, you know. So he finally stands
- 54:28Speaker 1: up and Zorro has come on the scene and is
- 54:31Speaker 1: offering to like deal with the dude, and Hashrudin is like, hey,
- 54:36Speaker 1: I appreciate you, but please just let me deal with
- 54:38Speaker 1: this dude. And he's really bruised up and like having
- 54:43Speaker 1: trouble walking. Mack Weiss is coming down on him and
- 54:48Speaker 1: he's like, all right, I'm gonna make myself even heavier.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Here I come, and Hajrudin is bracing himself. Mackface says,
- 54:58Speaker 1: I hope there are some bones left over for crushing,
- 55:02Speaker 1: which I was like, wait, what does that mean? After
- 55:04Speaker 1: you kill somebody you like to just like bounce around
- 55:06Speaker 1: on their bones. That's a weird thing to enjoy, I guess.
- 55:12Speaker 1: I guess if your only skill is like making yourself heavy,
- 55:17Speaker 1: crushing stuff would be a hobby, I suppose. So he
- 55:25Speaker 1: Hajjrudin puts a fist up and he manages to catch
- 55:29Speaker 1: Mackweiss on one of his gauntlets. I was a little
- 55:34Speaker 1: disappointed because Mockwiss.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Doesn't really react.
- 55:38Speaker 1: I thought that he was gonna have a moment of like,
- 55:41Speaker 1: oh shit, but he just continues to smile, and I
- 55:45Speaker 1: was like, why is he so unbothered?
- 55:48Speaker 2: And then you.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Get the inside X ray view of what is happening
- 55:54Speaker 1: Tomacho man Randy Savage. All the bones in his body
- 55:58Speaker 1: are indeed shattered. It is really fucking rough, you guys.
- 56:04Speaker 1: It's like the first his arm, but then the leg
- 56:06Speaker 1: that's bracing him. You see all of those as those
- 56:09Speaker 1: bones like begin to break apart as well. And then
- 56:15Speaker 1: Hasrudin yells let him fly to the Kingdom of the Gods,
- 56:20Speaker 1: and he punches upward and throws Mockfise up into the
- 56:27Speaker 1: air so hard that he gets sliced up against the
- 56:34Speaker 1: bird cage threads. I was delighted and horrified and impressed.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I mean, damn, Hajrudin came through and the means of
- 56:55Speaker 1: defeating this guy are his own side's weapon, which is
- 56:59Speaker 1: all just a very satisfying thing and also a very
- 57:05Speaker 1: grisly and ingenious use of that weapon.
- 57:09Speaker 2: I loved it. I thought it was great.
- 57:11Speaker 1: And then you eventually like see the blood spatter and
- 57:14Speaker 1: you see him fall back toward the ground and eventually
- 57:18Speaker 1: his root in himself just collapses. I think that he is.
- 57:22Speaker 2: Alive, but.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Musoro walks by him and says, enjoy your nap. When
- 57:29Speaker 1: you wake up, the cage will be gone.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Macho man. Randy Savage does not reply. That is the
- 57:35Speaker 2: end of the episode. But I really like that moment
- 57:39Speaker 2: a lot. Mock Vice is so.
- 57:40Speaker 1: Weird, what a bizarre. I don't know what's going on,
- 57:44Speaker 1: Like some of their vocal tics, I can see what
- 57:46Speaker 1: we're doing, and then there's things like this where I'm
- 57:49Speaker 1: just like, where did you even get this? But yeah,
- 57:53Speaker 1: so I like this episode, but I will stand by
- 57:56Speaker 1: that this d thing is still silly and stupid.
- 57:59Speaker 2: So I don't know. Prove me wrong.
- 58:02Speaker 1: And next episode that I record, I will be back
- 58:06Speaker 1: to watching three. So join me for that, guys. And
- 58:09Speaker 1: then I believe it's next week that I'm going to
- 58:11Speaker 1: be joined by Florian for one of the episodes I
- 58:16Speaker 1: think on the twenty four. Yeah, so a week from Thursday,
- 58:20Speaker 1: I will be doing a live with Florian. So I'm
- 58:23Speaker 1: looking forward to that because anytime that there's alive, it
- 58:25Speaker 1: means that something has of significance has occurred. So all right, everybody,
- 58:31Speaker 1: appreciate you all and until next time to Balloo Motherfuckers.
- 59:05Speaker 1: That was an unspoiled network podcast.
