- 0:01We take the chatter in our minds for granted and do not attribute
- 0:05any real significance or power to it.
- 0:08Most of the time, the constant influx of thoughts is just a lot
- 0:13of background noise. For the most part, when we
- 0:17concentrate on something and focus the thoughts, we recognize
- 0:22that we can actually accomplish something with thought.
- 0:25But even then, we do not generally recognize either the
- 0:29mechanism or the actual power of thought or the creation of
- 0:34thought forms. A thought is a vibration that
- 0:38goes out and moves through the universal ether.
- 0:42A weak vibratory pattern may be disrupted or dispersed, but to
- 0:46the extent that it is focused or combined with a force of will,
- 0:52it may continue on. To the extent that a thought is
- 0:56focused on a specific individual, it reaches out to
- 1:00that individual and if he is receptive to it, will have its
- 1:04influence or impact. To the extent that a thought is
- 1:08more general, it may be picked up by those who have a general
- 1:12receptivity to it. Thought does not only affect
- 1:16other people and their actions, however, there is the impact of
- 1:20thought on the body. We now recognize the connection
- 1:24between the mind and the body and the potential impact for
- 1:28health and Wellness of a positive thought strengthening
- 1:32the body. We also recognize the power of
- 1:35thought in terms of the fulfillment of desires for good
- 1:39or I'll. Thought forms can be
- 1:42systematically developed and powered by use of techniques
- 1:46such as detailed visualization. For instance, athletic
- 1:50competitors have learned the value of visualizing the race or
- 1:54event they are participating in with detailed sense of how and
- 1:59when they will respond and what position they take in the race.
- 2:04Others have learned that visualization can move them into
- 2:07a space that they find to be peaceful or uplifting.
- 2:13In some cases, thought forms have an immediate result.
- 2:17In others, they may take time to work out all the details in the
- 2:21external world. For example, the power of
- 2:25imagination, the visualizing of something not yet existent in
- 2:29the physical world, may take decades or centuries to work
- 2:34out. Consider that writers imagine
- 2:37travel to and landing on the moon many decades before the
- 2:42capacity existed. This thought form, however,
- 2:46caught the imagination of receptive other individuals who
- 2:50then worked out the methodology and over time the imagination
- 2:56became a reality. Spiritual seekers frequently
- 3:01utilized the power of thought to connect them to their spiritual
- 3:05purpose and object of their aspiration.
- 3:09Prayer, aspiration, consecration utilized thought forms to
- 3:15enhance the connection between the seeker and the goal.
- 3:19The power of the mantra is enhanced when the seeker focuses
- 3:24on the deeper meaning or sense behind the sound.
- 3:29The mother notes quote thoughts are forms and have an individual
- 3:34life independent of their author sent out from him into the
- 3:40world. They move in it towards the
- 3:42realization of their own purpose of existence.
- 3:46When you think of anyone, your thought takes a form and goes
- 3:50out to find him, and if your thinking is associated with some
- 3:54will that is behind it, the thought form that has gone out
- 3:58from you makes an attempt to realize itself.
- 4:01Let us say, for instance, that you have a keen desire for a
- 4:05certain person to come, and that along with this vital impulse of
- 4:10desire, a strong imagination accompanies the mental form you
- 4:14have made you imagine. If he came, it would be like
- 4:18this, or it would be like that. After a time you drop the idea
- 4:24altogether, and you do not know that even after you have
- 4:28forgotten it, your thought continues to exist, for it does
- 4:33still exist and is in action independent of you, and it would
- 4:39need a great power to bring it back from its work.
- 4:42It is working in the atmosphere of the person touched by it and
- 4:46creates in him the desire to come.
- 4:50And if there is a sufficient power of will in your thought
- 4:53form, if it is a well built formation, it will arrive at its
- 4:58own realization. But between the formation and
- 5:03the realization there is a certain lapse of time.
- 5:07And if in this interval your mind has been occupied with
- 5:11quite other things, then when there happens this fulfillment
- 5:16of your forgotten thought, you may not even remember that you
- 5:21once harbored it. You do not know that you were
- 5:24the instigator of its action and the cause of what has come
- 5:27about. And it happens very often too,
- 5:32that when the result does come, you have ceased to desire or
- 5:36care for it. There are some men who have a
- 5:39very strong formative power of this kind, and always they see
- 5:43their formations realized. But because they have not a well
- 5:47disciplined, mental and vital being, they want now one thing
- 5:52and now another, and these different or opposite formations
- 5:56and the results collide and clash with one another.
- 6:00And these people wonder how it is that they are living in so
- 6:04great a confusion and disharmony.
- 6:08They do not realize that it is their own thoughts and desires
- 6:11that have built the circumstances around them, which
- 6:14seem to them so incoherent and contradictory and make their
- 6:19life almost unbearable. End Quote.
