- 0:03Welcome to The Daily Quote, the podcast designed to kick start
- 0:07your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew Mcgevern,
- 0:11and let's dive into today's quote from Jim Rohn,
- 0:14entrepreneur and motivational speaker who influenced millions
- 0:19with his philosophy on personal development.
- 0:22He once said if you let your learning lead to knowledge, you
- 0:27become a fool. If you let your learning lead to
- 0:30action, you become wealthy. Learning to knowledge makes you
- 0:36a fool, but learning to action makes you wealthy.
- 0:41That's harsh, but it's true. Rhone isn't saying knowledge is
- 0:46bad. He's saying knowledge without
- 0:48action is worthless, or actually worse than worthless.
- 0:53It's foolish. Think about someone who reads
- 0:56every book about fitness but never exercises.
- 1:01Someone who takes every course on business but never starts
- 1:04one. Someone who studies investing
- 1:07but never invests. They have knowledge, lots of it,
- 1:12but what good is it doing them? They're no healthier, no
- 1:15wealthier, and no further along than someone who never learned
- 1:19anything at all. In fact, they might be worse off
- 1:23because they've convinced themselves they're doing
- 1:26something productive. They're working on themselves,
- 1:31they're preparing, but they're just collecting information.
- 1:35And information without application is entertainment at
- 1:38best, delusion at worst. Now think about someone who
- 1:42learned something and immediately applies it, reads
- 1:46about fitness and goes to the gym the next day, learns a
- 1:51business principal and tests it in their work, studies investing
- 1:55and puts money in the market. They might not know as much as
- 1:59the perpetual student, but they're getting results and
- 2:03they're learning what actually works in the real world through
- 2:06experience. They're building wealth, not
- 2:10just knowledge, but actual value in their life.
- 2:13Rhones drawing a line. Are you learning to know more or
- 2:20learning to do more? Because only one of those paths
- 2:24leads anywhere. The other is an endless loop of
- 2:28consumption disguised as progress.
- 2:31So here's the question. What have you learned recently
- 2:34that you haven't applied? And what's 1 action you could
- 2:38take today to turn that knowledge into results?
- 2:42Because knowledge for its own sake is a trap.
- 2:47Knowledge that leads to action That's well.
- 2:51Stop collecting, start applying. That's it for today.
- 2:55I'm Andrew Mcgeburn, signing off for now, but I'll be back
- 3:00tomorrow. Same pod time, same pod station
- 3:07with another daily quote.
