- 0:33Speaker 3: have tried. The Chick-fil-A all-day chicken and waffle sandwich that
- 0:37Speaker 3: comes with the syrup. You don't need the syrup.
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's plenty delicious.
- 0:41Speaker 3: It's also National Mozzarella Stick Day and International Sloth Day.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Who doesn't love a little sloth? Oh, maybe we should
- 0:51Speaker 1: go watch Zootopia with the sloth that moves all slow.
- 0:57Speaker 1: We've been sprinkling in the scariest thing that's ever happened
- 1:01Speaker 1: to you. Right, because it is, you know, it's Halloween
- 1:03Speaker 1: and it could be about monsters and ghosts, but it
- 1:06Speaker 1: could also be just something just completely terrifying that's ever
- 1:08Speaker 1: happened to you. We want to hear it. And Maria
- 1:10Speaker 1: is ready to kick it off this morning. Good morning, Maria.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Hey, good morning, John Jay.
- 1:15Speaker 1: What's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Well, I'm going to share a story with you that
- 1:21Speaker 2: happened several years back. And if you all are familiar
- 1:25Speaker 2: with the state of California, I was over in Dairyland
- 1:28Speaker 2: in Corona and I was riding with my mom. We
- 1:31Speaker 2: were heading over to my grandma's home. And as we're
- 1:34Speaker 2: driving near the dairy land, there was this object in
- 1:37Speaker 2: the road that appeared to be a decapitated head. Wow.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I said, I said, hey, mom. Oh, my God, mom,
- 1:46Speaker 2: there's a decapitated head. She's like, oh, come on now.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And so being Hispanic, my mom called me a mentirosa,
- 1:52Speaker 2: which is, you know, a liar kind of. And I said, well,
- 1:55Speaker 2: flip around. Let's go take a look. And so we
- 1:57Speaker 2: did so. And the dairies over there have those huge
- 2:00Speaker 2: U-turn driveways. And so we turned in and came back out.
- 2:04Speaker 2: And sure enough, there sat.
- 2:06Speaker 1: A decapitated deer. No way.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Gosh. And I don't know.
- 2:12Speaker 1: The eyes were open.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It was the scariest thing we could have ever imagined.
- 2:17Speaker 2: We make our way to my grandma's home, and we're
- 2:19Speaker 2: wider than a sheet of ghost. And my grandma's like, oh,
- 2:22Speaker 2: my God, here. She gave us a spoon of sugar
- 2:24Speaker 2: for some reason, you know, old myths. And the next
- 2:28Speaker 2: day in the local newspaper, they actually found the other
- 2:33Speaker 2: body parts of said person in the machinery room. equipment
- 2:38Speaker 2: at a local dairy farm.
- 2:40Speaker 1: Oh, my goodness.
- 2:42Speaker 3: You guys don't call the police or anything like that.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You just witnessed ahead. You just saw it. And then
- 2:47Speaker 1: just get a spoonful of sugar.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Take care of that.
- 2:50Speaker 1: We did.
- 2:50Speaker 2: We did call the police once we got to my
- 2:52Speaker 2: grandmother's home. We didn't have a phone then.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Oh, I got you. So do you know the story?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Did he fall in the machine or did someone kill him?
- 3:00Speaker 2: It appeared that somebody intentionally murdered him.
- 3:04Speaker 1: You know what's interesting, though? It's like I tried to
- 3:06Speaker 1: put myself in your shoes. So if I was driving
- 3:09Speaker 1: with someone and I saw a decapitated head on the
- 3:12Speaker 1: side of the road, I think my first thing would
- 3:14Speaker 1: be to yell, oh, my God, there's a head. To
- 3:17Speaker 1: add the word decapitated seems such extra work. There's a
- 3:21Speaker 1: head in the middle of the road. There's just a head.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Like to actually.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Stop and say, I may have had something to do
- 3:28Speaker 2: with it, but no, no, I did not.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Decapitated head. Like, I think that's a given. You know,
- 3:33Speaker 1: it reminds me the other day I was somewhere and they,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and there was an emergency and they had to call,
- 3:37Speaker 1: you know, there's a, if, if, if I'm, if you're
- 3:39Speaker 1: sitting here in a room right now with all of us,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Kyle and someone has, and Peyton has a heart attack
- 3:43Speaker 1: and falls on the floor, what would you yell?
- 3:45Speaker 3: Call 9-1-1.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Call 9-1-1. I was at a place where that happened
- 3:49Speaker 1: and somebody yells, call emergency medical services. Call emergency medical services.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And I was like, what? What? Call what? Emergency medical services.
- 4:01Speaker 1: And I was like, do you mean 9-1-1? Call 9-1-1?
- 4:04Speaker 1: Double call 9-1-1. And who says call emergency medical services?
- 4:08Speaker 1: That takes a long time. That is a lot. And
- 4:10Speaker 1: the person that said that is in the medical field.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:11Speaker 1: And they even, have an acronym for emergency medical services,
- 4:15Speaker 1: which is EMS, which is a lot faster than.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Emergency medical services.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So that's why Maria says decapitated. Are you telling us
- 4:22Speaker 1: that because now that you've heard the story a million times,
- 4:24Speaker 1: told the story, it's better to say decapitated or do
- 4:26Speaker 1: you think you yelled, mom, there's a head in the road.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I more than likely said, Mom, there's a head in
- 4:32Speaker 2: the road.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I probably would.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Have used the word decapitated. That's more an educational term now.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And also, when they were trying to kill the person,
- 4:40Speaker 1: what kind of dairy, where were they putting the rest
- 4:43Speaker 1: of the body? Was it in a butchering plant where
- 4:46Speaker 1: they make meat? Or was it in a milk thing?
- 4:50Speaker 2: It was one of those machineries that they used to
- 4:54Speaker 2: cut the corn and the grain from the ground.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Wow. That's brutal.
- 5:01Speaker 2: They normally do this activity in the middle of the
- 5:03Speaker 2: day and then in the early morning where it's dark.
- 5:05Speaker 2: So you don't know what you're essentially running over. Yeah,
- 5:08Speaker 2: it was pretty scary.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Thank God your grandma got you some sugar.
- 5:11Speaker 2: If anyone knows the area I'm referring to, it's well
- 5:14Speaker 2: before what it is now.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, my wife's dad lives there. I was just there
- 5:18Speaker 3: a few months ago in Corona. Lots of open land there.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Wow. Well, Marina, I'm so glad you called. That is
- 5:24Speaker 1: a scary, scary story. I mean, to see a head
- 5:27Speaker 1: is just by itself ever. You know what I mean?
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's so gross.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty unreal.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Do you have nightmares of that every once in a
- 5:33Speaker 1: while still?
- 5:35Speaker 2: I wouldn't say nightmares. I did, you know, back in
- 5:37Speaker 2: the day. But now it's just kind of like I
- 5:39Speaker 2: think back and I'm like, what the heck? What in
- 5:42Speaker 2: the world would someone have done that for? Like, it's
- 5:44Speaker 2: just it's scary that people are out there that have
- 5:45Speaker 2: the intention, you know, and can act on it. So, yeah.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I wonder if you were tempted to take it with you.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Bring it somewhere. No. Grandma, look what I found. No, Rich.
- 5:53Speaker 3: No, I'm sorry.
- 5:54Speaker 2: If I see one next time, I'll be more than
- 5:56Speaker 2: happy to package it up and help you.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. I didn't do that.
- 6:01Speaker 3: FedEx will turn that right around.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Maria, thank you for sharing that story with us.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Oh, you bet, guys. Have a wonderful day. You too.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Thank you. There's a post. We posted it on Facebook.
- 6:09Speaker 1: We said, what is the scariest thing that you've ever
- 6:10Speaker 1: experienced in your entire life? And I want to know
- 6:13Speaker 1: this story. Angela says, my neighbor stabbed me 13 times.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 6:18Speaker 3: That's horrendous.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we got to talk to her at some point.
- 6:21Speaker 1: There's a whole bunch of comments on it. But we're
- 6:22Speaker 1: going to do this every single day and, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 1: sprinkle it in throughout the show. We want to know
- 6:26Speaker 1: from you, what's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?
- 6:29Speaker 2: 877-937-1047.
