• 0:32
Speaker 1: Don't forget your toothbrush.
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: Yeah, well, several.
• 0:35
Speaker 1: And don't forget the toothpaste, because where he has his little cottage, you have to get in a boat and go to the mainland, oh, to do shopping and all that.
• 0:46
Speaker 3: Yeah, gross reason that sort of thing.
• 0:47
Speaker 3: Be sure and get enough toilet paper to last for a few days.
• 0:51
Speaker 3: Well, if he's on the lake, he's got plenty of leaves.
• 0:53
Speaker 3: There's big leaves out there.
• 0:57
Speaker 3: He'll work it out, did you?
• 0:58
  Speaker 3: Do that too.
• 0:58
  Speaker 3: He's a smart guy.
• 0:59
Speaker 3: Back in the day when you were a kid.
• 1:00
Speaker 3: No, we went across from the boat and got the toilet paper.
• 1:06
Speaker 1: Mars, sir, I'm not even going to venture into that.
• 1:11
Speaker 1: No venture, Adventure or adventure.
• 1:14
Speaker 1: Okay, well, it's all on you.
• 1:16
  Speaker 4: Mars.
• 1:17
Speaker 4: I'm hunting for Mr Owen Pittman right here.
• 1:19
Speaker 4: I sent an email and a text and I'm just trying to roust him out Smoky, an email, a text, and I'm just trying to roust him out.
• 1:26
Speaker 4: He may have had a big race last night, so he may be running a little slow Bringing the trophy home.
• 1:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got two tracks, one down in Corpus Christi to go along, the one with here at HM&P.
• 1:35
Speaker 4: Oh, I did not know that.
• 1:38
Speaker 3: I know the track.
• 1:38
Speaker 3: I've never been to it, but I know where it's at the track down in Corpus.
• 1:42
Speaker 4: Yeah, I know where it's, at the track down at Corpus.
• 1:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so he's a promoter down there for that as well.
• 1:46
Speaker 1: Why do they call that South Texas if it's Corpus Christi?
• 1:48
Speaker 1: Because that really is mid-coast, wouldn't you think?
• 1:52
Speaker 4: Yeah, I would think that.
• 1:52
  Speaker 3: That's what I've always thought.
• 1:53
  Speaker 3: I didn't invent it.
• 1:54
Speaker 3: I'm sure someone maybe my cousin Doug that lives down there he'll chime in and tell us.
• 2:00
Speaker 1: You know, back in the day we didn't have big 4th of July things at Meyers Speedway.
• 2:04
Speaker 1: It was the 4th of July but we had, I think, a big race called the Liberty Bell 300.
• 2:12
Speaker 1: And cars from all over came.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: So we got to see different cars and apparently the purse was pretty big.
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Stands were packed, Lots of fun Started late in the afternoon as opposed to the usual start time of 7 o'clock and it didn't make any difference.
• 2:31
Speaker 1: Fourth of July made no difference as far as the race was concerned because it was held on a Saturday.
• 2:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, and Fourth of July is on a Friday.
• 2:40
Speaker 1: Did you have any local racing up in Michigan when you were growing up?
• 2:46
Speaker 3: Well, they probably had the drag strip, but nothing like that.
• 2:48
Speaker 3: They didn't have circle track.
• 2:50
Speaker 3: Probably around Flat Rock maybe, but never ventured out there.
• 2:54
Speaker 3: Where was Flat Rock?
• 2:55
Speaker 3: Flat Rock is south of Detroit.
• 2:56
Speaker 3: I believe it was south of Detroit and then they had the drag strips out west and people did go out there.
• 3:04
Speaker 3: It's not like today where you've got the big complexes and things.
• 3:09
Speaker 1: It's more like this old pay street.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: These racetracks are closing by the dozens every year, which is a real shame.
• 3:18
  Speaker 3: And I saw Seth's profile.
• 3:19
Speaker 3: He's out in Austin now Living out there.
• 3:22
Speaker 3: Yeah, he lives in Austin now.
• 3:23
  Speaker 3: Good for him.
• 3:24
Speaker 1: Well, there's no racetrack out there.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: Austin now Living out there?
• 3:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, he lives in Austin now.
• 3:25
  Speaker 1: Good for him.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: Well, there's no racetrack out there.
• 3:27
Speaker 3: No, probably got a nice home and chilling.
• 3:30
Speaker 3: He's probably having fun.
• 3:32
Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember yeah, I called him one time to see about talking to him after the track closed down to kind of talk about it.
• 3:40
Speaker 4: He wouldn't even talk about it.
• 3:41
Speaker 4: He was really upset over it.
• 3:43
Speaker 4: I mean he was just.
• 3:49
Speaker 4: I think he was heartbroken that it was shut down.
• 3:50
Speaker 4: Well, I mean it was a business decision.
• 3:51
Speaker 4: I mean it was apparently the right thing to do at the time.
• 3:53
Speaker 4: It was a family decision.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah, but they offered them, I would imagine, a boo-coo load of money.
• 4:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, stupid money yeah stupid money because of the warehousing that started popping up over there.
• 4:06
Speaker 1: And it's so close to the bay and gives them access to Deepwater Port and all that sort of thing and all that over there is now except for the racetrack.
• 4:17
Speaker 1: The racetrack actually is still there, the quarter.
• 4:21
Speaker 4: And the little office building was there last time I was there.
• 4:23
Speaker 1: Correct the front right up there toward the street.
• 4:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, credential, the credential building yeah.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: But the media center, the big tall stuff and all of the stands are gone, but the actual track itself is still there.
• 4:39
Speaker 1: They haven't dug it up yet.
• 4:40
Speaker 1: It's like they had these big plans and they tore all down and said let's wait.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: Well, the problem there is that if you have all that still sitting there, that's destined to be raced on in the middle of the night.
• 4:55
Speaker 1: You know, death, destruction and all of that Problems, yeah.
• 5:00
Speaker 1: So I think that they said, nah, we're not going to avoid all of that and just take it.
• 5:05
Speaker 1: Well, they sold the stands.
• 5:06
Speaker 1: Yeah, I wonder who's got the Christmas tree?
• 5:08
  Speaker 1: I don't know, that's a good question.
• 5:11
Speaker 1: Maybe Seth's got it, maybe, maybe, because that was not the original Christmas tree to the track.
• 5:17
Speaker 3: One of the other family members may Maybe or maybe it belonged to NHRA and they took it back NHRA and they took it back.
• 5:22
  Speaker 3: You never know.
• 5:29
  Speaker 1: Well.
• 5:29
Speaker 3: Mike, if I remember correctly, I think that NHRA brought their own Christmas tree.
• 5:31
Speaker 3: Oh, I got you.
• 5:31
Speaker 3: Yeah, they put it up rather than having any controversy, it's your tree, it's rigged and all that stuff yeah it's different than what everybody else has.
• 5:39
  Speaker 3: It makes sense.
• 5:40
  Speaker 3: Yeah and well.
• 5:43
  Speaker 3: Nhra's.
• 5:43
Speaker 3: This weekend and Tony Schumacher had a big explosion.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: Right lane launch Car blew up.
• 5:49
Speaker 3: Well, lost the blower, but he's all right.
• 5:53
Speaker 3: What's up with Erica?
• 5:54
  Speaker 3: I don't know.
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: I haven't really been hearing a lot.
• 5:57
Speaker 1: Last night she qualified seventh and Greg Anderson is walking away.
• 6:02
Speaker 1: We're at midseason and he is walking away with the championship, uncontested.
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: Pretty much.
• 6:09
Speaker 1: Say that again, greg.
• 6:11
  Speaker 3: Anderson.
• 6:12
  Speaker 4: Oh.
• 6:12
  Speaker 3: Greg Anderson.
• 6:12
Speaker 3: I'm sorry, I heard Greg Anderson.
• 6:15
Speaker 4: Well, that's what I heard the first time I did that too.
• 6:17
Speaker 4: See, and I'm thinking what, yeah?
• 6:19
Speaker 4: And then when I caught it yeah, greg Anderson, yeah.
• 6:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, and Erica, I think that she's pretty much out of contention of trying to warm her way back to the top.
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a runaway.
• 6:33
Speaker 3: It was a good fight this season.
• 6:35
Speaker 3: I mean it's not over, but anything can happen, yeah.
• 6:38
Speaker 1: So the other thing that's disappointing is that they don't have like last weekend they did not have a pro stock.
• 6:44
  Speaker 3: No, no, no.
• 6:46
  Speaker 1: They ran bikes.
• 6:47
Speaker 3: They ran bikes last weekend, yeah.
• 6:48
Speaker 3: I'm not into the bikes, never have been, no, but they're fun to watch and what I see now in the two-wheeler version there's a lot more women coming on board.
• 6:58
Speaker 1: One of the things that I really never quite understood when they started cutting back on the number of pro stock races.
• 7:05
Speaker 1: They still had the Nitro Funny Car and Dragsters, but they never replaced anything with or for the pro stock cars and I always thought, well, that would be a great segue for the pro mods.
• 7:23
Speaker 3: Well, they do actually have broadcasts of the pro mods, the 30-minute segment, later on in the week.
• 7:29
Speaker 1: I understand that, but it's not run with the actual event Right, right, right.
• 7:34
Speaker 1: It's run A TV event, right Right, and so why not put it on?
• 7:39
  Speaker 3: I agree.
• 7:40
Speaker 1: Because those cars are scary fast.
• 7:42
Speaker 3: Or have some type of novelty race, have the jet cars out there or something you know that would be fun to watch Big bucks Get them all pumped up and then they go, and that's it.
• 7:51
  Speaker 3: That's it, Yep.
• 7:52
Speaker 3: You like that, Mike?
• 7:54
Speaker 3: I know it was a technical term.
• 7:56
Speaker 3: What are you doing?
• 7:56
  Speaker 1: over there.
• 7:56
Speaker 1: You looking for a guest.
• 7:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, what did I tell you?
• 7:59
  Speaker 3: He's shopping online.
• 8:02
Speaker 4: So I decided to go to Amazon.
• 8:04
Speaker 1: Did you try to call them?
• 8:07
Speaker 4: Well, I was going to, but my calendar book didn't make the trip this morning.
• 8:11
Speaker 4: Apparently it's on my desk that has all that information in it.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: Did you not call him earlier this morning?
• 8:16
Speaker 4: No, during the week oh, no man emails.
• 8:19
Speaker 4: Boom, boom, boom, boom, Text Boom, boom boom.
• 8:21
Speaker 1: That's good to say, because you do have the recent phone numbers of people that you call Well, but you never talk to him.
• 8:30
  Speaker 4: Not this time.
• 8:31
Speaker 4: I mean, I've talked to him in the past and he's always showed up when he was supposed to.
• 8:34
Speaker 4: So I took him.
• 8:36
Speaker 1: Maybe he had a pre-4th of July night last night.
• 8:39
Speaker 1: Like you, wait here he comes, maybe Like you Wait, here he comes.
• 8:41
Speaker 4: Maybe Somebody's coming in Ta-da, Really Somebody, let's see who it?
• 8:48
Speaker 4: Is he's getting connected, yeah.
• 8:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah yeah, well, we'll just let you take it.
• 8:59
Speaker 4: Well, thank you very much.
• 9:00
Speaker 4: Tell me when let's see who this is.
• 9:03
Speaker 3: Let me get him unmuted Sick guy there, he is Owen.
• 9:09
  Speaker 4: Hello, hello.
• 9:13
Speaker 1: There he is, hey you there guys.
• 9:15
Speaker 4: Yes sir, how are you?
• 9:17
Speaker 1: I'm good, you know, when they wave the green flag, everybody steps on the gas and goes.
• 9:23
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, full throttle.
• 9:24
Speaker 2: We're racing today down here in corpus christi, so, uh, at my other racetrack.
• 9:29
Speaker 1: so it's a hectic day for me, to say the least, could you, could you tilt your camera down just a bit so we could actually see you and there you are perfect, thank you shooting it at the roof yeah, that's it.
• 9:40
Speaker 1: So you're in corpus christi.
• 9:42
Speaker 1: We kind of suspected that you were in Corpus Christi this weekend.
• 9:44
Speaker 1: We don't know why?
• 9:47
  Speaker 2: Yes, sir.
• 9:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, so have you kind of maneuvered the schedules in such a way that you can do two tracks, like every other weekend or something?
• 9:56
Speaker 1: How does that work for you?
• 9:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, for the most part we had to overlap, like I think, three events this year due to, you know, rain, outs and other problems.
• 10:08
Speaker 2: So for the most part when I built the schedule, I built it where one week I would be in Corpus and the next week I would be in Houston.
• 10:15
Speaker 2: So Houston's a once a month thing, so it wasn't too difficult to do.
• 10:20
Speaker 2: Like I said, we just got on top of each other a few times and those times I basically go to the track that is, uh, needs to be there most and uh, I sent some guys that that helped me out a lot and um, and can handle it without me.
• 10:34
Speaker 2: So they, they go to the other track.
• 10:37
Speaker 1: So what is your title?
• 10:38
Speaker 1: What do you what?
• 10:38
Speaker 1: What is it that you do actually?
• 10:41
Speaker 2: I'm the promoter for both tracks, so basically I control everything on race day.
• 10:46
Speaker 2: I basically run both facilities on in Houston just the oval track, not the drag strip.
• 10:55
Speaker 2: So basically I'm the guy that has to pay the bills when it comes down to it.
• 11:00
  Speaker 1: Gotcha.
• 11:02
Speaker 2: Everybody works for me.
• 11:03
Speaker 1: You're kind of like the, the wrestling promoter, then yeah yeah, everybody works for me.
• 11:05
Speaker 1: You're kind of like the wrestling promoter, then yeah you gather up.
• 11:08
Speaker 1: And I think that there's something to be said about that comparison, because you're talking about oval track racers and from what I have learned over the years is that some can be quite cantankerous, to put it mildly.
• 11:27
Speaker 1: Mm-hmm, oh, we froze him.
• 11:30
Speaker 1: Well, that pretty much sunk, there he is.
• 11:33
Speaker 1: All right, so I don't know what you heard.
• 11:35
Speaker 1: Yeah, did you hear what I said?
• 11:39
  Speaker 2: No sir.
• 11:40
Speaker 1: So I said that you know the wrestling connotation there that I threw up there is kind of like the wrestling is very similar to the actual track racers in the fact that they can be cantankerous at times.
• 11:57
  Speaker 2: Absolutely.
• 11:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, so how many?
• 11:59
Speaker 1: I understand we're going to have a big sprint car event this coming Saturday night Not tonight, but a week from tonight.
• 12:06
Speaker 2: Yes, july 5th we have a sprint car event.
• 12:08
Speaker 2: The elite non-wing 410 Outlaws will be at HMP.
• 12:16
Speaker 3: Well, that's your right of way Allie.
• 12:17
Speaker 3: Yeah Right of Don's alley.
• 12:19
Speaker 1: Well, when we were talking about this before we went on the air, I said my guess is they're not going to have any wings on them because too much downforce.
• 12:27
Speaker 1: When you got that kind of downforce and you build up that speed and it tears up everything, not only equipment but tracks and fences and everything.
• 12:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, so there won't be no wings.
• 12:41
  Speaker 2: It'll be a wingless show.
• 12:43
Speaker 2: And yeah, that downforce it's a lot, and on pavement it's a total different game.
• 12:47
Speaker 2: They need it on that dirt, but on the pavement it's completely different.
• 12:52
Speaker 2: So, yeah, it's definitely not necessary.
• 12:54
Speaker 2: They're going to be by far the fastest things gone around that oval.
• 12:57
Speaker 2: Uh, in a long time if not ever.
• 13:00
Speaker 1: So where did the name elite 410 come from?
• 13:05
Speaker 2: well, elite's just the name of the series.
• 13:07
Speaker 2: Uh, that's coming in.
• 13:08
Speaker 2: 410 is the motor, so that it's a.
• 13:10
  Speaker 2: It's a 410 series.
• 13:11
Speaker 2: Um, so they run 410 cubic inch motors, just like World Outlaws or any of the big sprint series.
• 13:18
Speaker 2: It's the same concept.
• 13:20
Speaker 2: So in sprint car racing you have a 410, then you drop down to a 360 motor or you can go down to a 305 motor.
• 13:27
Speaker 2: Those are the three main platforms for racing sprint cars.
• 13:31
  Speaker 2: It's 305s, 360s and 410s.
• 13:33
Speaker 2: 410s would be in the top.
• 13:34
Speaker 1: How many cars are you expecting next Saturday night?
• 13:38
  Speaker 2: 16 to 18.
• 13:39
  Speaker 1: 16 to 18.
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: Oh, that's perfect.
• 13:40
  Speaker 1: Let's hope it's 18.
• 13:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't want too many.
• 13:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly, and I guess that these guys race together and do some sort of a circuit in Texas.
• 13:51
  Speaker 2: Correct.
• 13:51
Speaker 2: The circuit's primarily dirt, so they're all getting thrown and, as a matter of fact, the way the promoter from the Elite Series set it up is it'll be dirt cars only.
• 14:02
Speaker 2: So they have to convert their dirt car over into an asphalt car to race this.
• 14:06
Speaker 2: One race a year, including buying asphalt tires etc.
• 14:11
Speaker 2: To come race here Shocks, all cetera.
• 14:12
Speaker 2: To come race here versus.
• 14:13
Speaker 2: You know, there's some, there's some full-time asphalt stuff out in Florida and out that way, and those cars are built for the asphalt and there's a difference.
• 14:22
Speaker 2: And so these are all dirt cars.
• 14:26
Speaker 2: They pretty much race together all over Texas on the dirt already.
• 14:30
Speaker 2: What the both points?
• 14:31
Speaker 2: Leaders will be here.
• 14:31
  Speaker 2: I think it's a tide series.
• 14:32
  Speaker 2: They'll be here.
• 14:32
Speaker 2: Paul White, who's won the silver crown leaders, will be here.
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: I think it's a tied series.
• 14:34
  Speaker 2: They'll be here.
• 14:35
Speaker 2: Paul White, who's won the Silver Crown Championship, will be here.
• 14:39
Speaker 2: There'll be some big names here.
• 14:41
Speaker 3: What is the average speed on that dirt I?
• 14:44
  Speaker 2: don't know that.
• 14:45
Speaker 2: I have an answer to that.
• 14:46
Speaker 2: Never figured that out.
• 14:48
Speaker 2: I have no idea what those guys are going to go around there in speed-wise.
• 14:52
Speaker 3: And before we leave, you need to give us where both tracks are located the one in Corpus and then, of course, the one in Houston, for the folks that are listening in.
• 15:02
Speaker 2: Having a hard time hearing you.
• 15:03
  Speaker 2: Oh, I'm sorry.
• 15:04
Speaker 2: It's just real quiet, that's okay.
• 15:06
Speaker 3: You need to give us the directions of where your tracks are located in Corpus and in Houston, for the folks that want to go out there next weekend and this weekend.
• 15:13
  Speaker 2: Sure, In Corpus.
• 15:15
Speaker 2: It's at 6701 Old Brownsville Road in Corpus Christi.
• 15:21
Speaker 2: Okay, it's right on the edge of town here.
• 15:24
Speaker 2: Been here since 95.
• 15:27
  Speaker 2: I owned it since 2005,.
• 15:30
Speaker 2: Then I sold it and now I just work there for the guys that currently own it.
• 15:33
Speaker 2: Okay, and Houston, you get me lying about that too.
• 15:39
  Speaker 4: It's Houston.
• 15:40
  Speaker 2: Motorsports Park.
• 15:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, it's up on Lake Houston Parkway, up on the northeast side of town, and it's very easy to find.
• 15:46
Speaker 1: All you do is Google it and you can get there from the Beltway or you can get there from 59 East Tex Freeway.
• 15:52
Speaker 2: Yeah, always go down that.
• 15:54
  Speaker 2: What is it?
• 15:54
  Speaker 2: Mount Houston Road.
• 15:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, east Mount Houston.
• 15:57
Speaker 2: Yeah, Make sure you got your gun with you when you go down that road.
• 16:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, that road's a little rough.
• 16:06
Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that part of town is a little rough On several different levels.
• 16:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, on several different levels.
• 16:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no doubt about it.
• 16:11
Speaker 1: But you're also going to have the regular Saturday night lineup out there running, not with them at the same time, but on the circuit with the regular cars that go out there.
• 16:25
  Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
• 16:26
Speaker 2: We'll have eight classes total at this, actually nine classes at this event.
• 16:32
Speaker 2: We start about 7 o'clock and we typically wrap up about 10.
• 16:34
Speaker 2: Um, we start about seven o'clock and we typically wrap up about 10.
• 16:37
Speaker 2: Uh, the goal is always 10 o'clock to be done.
• 16:39
Speaker 2: Um, even with that many classes, we manage, you know.
• 16:43
Speaker 2: So we, we have a crown VIX, which is very entertaining.
• 16:47
Speaker 2: Um, we actually I own me and my, my nephew own 11 of them ourselves and we rent those out.
• 16:54
Speaker 2: So for $200 and a Crash Clause fee, you can come out and race, get your experience, run a heat race in a feature in a Crown Vic.
• 17:06
  Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
• 17:07
Speaker 2: Hold on, hold on Peak in interest.
• 17:10
Speaker 1: You've peaked a little interest here.
• 17:11
  Speaker 1: So $200.
• 17:12
Speaker 1: And what was the thing?
• 17:13
Speaker 1: Crash Clause, crash Clause, so $200.
• 17:14
Speaker 1: And what was the thing?
• 17:15
Speaker 1: The crash clause, crash clause.
• 17:16
  Speaker 2: What is that?
• 17:17
Speaker 2: What that is basically.
• 17:18
  Speaker 2: It's like you're putting up $500.
• 17:21
Speaker 2: So if you destroy something, you've got to pay for it and mainly it's not like well, you just lose $500 if you crash.
• 17:30
Speaker 2: I mean crashes happen, dents and dings.
• 17:32
Speaker 2: We're not worried about that.
• 17:33
Speaker 2: But a couple weeks races back, we had some guys come out and they just drove like idiots and get in the wall, bend an axle.
• 17:42
Speaker 2: Well, you're going to bend an axle.
• 17:43
Speaker 2: It's going to cost you $150, because that's what it cost me.
• 17:45
Speaker 2: So, real quick, if you go out there and just tear them up, I'm losing lots of money repairing them at only a $200 cost.
• 17:53
Speaker 2: The expectation is you go out there and drive within your means and race.
• 17:55
Speaker 2: It isn't a go-kart track where you're having fun, you know, tearing stuff up, running into each other, acting a fool.
• 18:02
Speaker 2: It's actually racing and you can go out there and race clean.
• 18:05
  Speaker 2: We get it.
• 18:05
Speaker 2: Some people you're going to overdrive every now and then.
• 18:07
  Speaker 2: Do something.
• 18:14
Speaker 1: No big deal, but it's mainly to try to keep people from just coming out and tearing them up intentionally.
• 18:17
  Speaker 1: It's not a demo, derby.
• 18:17
Speaker 1: Now are these basically stock Crown Vicks?
• 18:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, they have a basically stock roll cage in them.
• 18:22
Speaker 2: You know race and seat five-point harness.
• 18:25
Speaker 2: They're somewhat gutted, obviously because of the roll cage.
• 18:29
Speaker 2: Four of them have some tune on them With removing the catalytic converter and doing some other stuff.
• 18:35
Speaker 2: You, you got to start tuning the computer a little bit so they'll run properly.
• 18:38
Speaker 2: Um, a couple of them are stock stock.
• 18:42
Speaker 2: A couple of them are beat up and old and still run damn fast do you have any police cars?
• 18:47
Speaker 2: Uh, well, yeah, yeah I don't police cars, but they're old police cars.
• 18:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, and are they black and white?
• 18:56
Speaker 2: No, no, not, no more.
• 18:57
Speaker 2: We actually got one we're converting to a black and white and then we're going to do one as a fire car.
• 19:04
Speaker 2: So we're going to paint it red, so we're going to theme them up a little bit for people to enjoy and get something out of it.
• 19:09
Speaker 2: You know something different.
• 19:11
Speaker 4: So that's pretty cool.
• 19:12
Speaker 2: So 200 I can come out and say I want to try my hand at being a race car driver yeah, so for 200 you can basically come out and and I have helmets and suits, the different sizes to fit different people and we suit you up, helmet you on and you get in a race car and you run a hot lap session.
• 19:32
Speaker 4: So you practice, you talk about run a heat the future you talk about a birthday present or a Father's Day present, or even a Christmas present or a death wish?
• 19:40
Speaker 1: Or a death wish.
• 19:41
  Speaker 1: That's it.
• 19:42
Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like lots of fun.
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: It does.
• 19:45
Speaker 1: What is it $20 to get in and dollar hot dogs and dollar beer.
• 19:49
Speaker 2: Yes, sir, $20 to get in dollar hot dog, dollar beer.
• 19:52
Speaker 2: I believe it's $15 for senior and military.
• 19:54
  Speaker 2: Oh well, so.
• 19:55
Speaker 1: I've already got the $15 nailed, you could use the other $5 for the dollar and dog.
• 20:01
Speaker 1: I'm thinking that I'm going to need a couple of tickets, and I'm hoping that you're going to be able to help me out in that regard.
• 20:08
Speaker 2: I'm sure we can figure that out just fine.
• 20:11
  Speaker 1: Okay, very good.
• 20:12
Speaker 1: So that's next Saturday night 7 o'clock, Houston Motorsports Park Big race that features the Elite 410 sprint cars Massive Wingless sprint cars.

• 20:36

• 24:12
Speaker 1: No details released about the owner of VIN001.
• 24:15
Speaker 1: But Cadillac said the buyer took delivery June 23rd at a private event at General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, michigan, north of Detroit.
• 24:23
  Speaker 1: That's where it's being built.
• 24:24
Speaker 1: It's a milestone long in the making for Cadillac, which first revealed details about the hand-built Celestique in the summer of 2022.
• 24:33
Speaker 1: Starting at around $340,000, the Celestique is commissioned and designed to individual buyers' preferences.
• 24:41
Speaker 1: Working one-on-one with a concierge, no two Celestiques will be alike.
• 24:47
Speaker 1: It produces 655 horsepower, 646 pound-feet of torque, zero to 60 acceleration of 3.7 seconds with Velocity Max mode engaged.
• 24:59
Speaker 1: Cadillac estimates the Celestique range at 303 miles.
• 25:03
Speaker 1: Production will be limited to just 25, with the allotment nearly fulfilled before the brand begins the 26 model output.
• 25:11
Speaker 1: Fewer than two Celestiques are built per day.
• 25:15
Speaker 1: Hand-built Cadillacs how long do you think that's going to last?
• 25:18
Speaker 1: Not very, I don't think so either.
• 25:19
  Speaker 1: I don't know why they're doing it.
• 25:21
Speaker 1: I don't know why they're spending that kind of money.
• 25:23
Speaker 1: Okay, I got a Halo car.
• 25:25
Speaker 1: I understand Halo cars, but wow, $340,000.
• 25:30
Speaker 1: It's going to kind of limit their sales, don't you think?
• 25:33
  Speaker 3: Good demographic yeah.
• 25:35
Speaker 1: And both young and high-income car buyers want to purchase a vehicle sooner to avoid potential tariff price hikes.
• 25:40
Speaker 1: According to a new report from Jerry, the car insurance saving app, Jerry surveyed 1,000 people in April using pole fish.
• 25:48
  Speaker 1: Okay.
• 25:49
  Speaker 3: No idea.
• 25:50
Speaker 1: All of those surveyed owned or lease a vehicle, drive at least once per week and pay for car insurance.
• 25:56
Speaker 1: Of the Generation Z respondents planning to buy a vehicle this year, more than half said they will buy sooner than planned because of tariffs.
• 26:05
Speaker 1: A similar percentage of respondents making over $100,000 a year said the very same thing.
• 26:11
Speaker 1: About 26% of all those planning to buy a vehicle this year now are waiting to see how prices change in the coming months.
• 26:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I bet they do.
• 26:24
Speaker 1: And a ship that caught fire in the Pacific Ocean earlier this month has sunk.
• 26:26
Speaker 1: And a ship that caught fire in the Pacific Ocean earlier this month has sunk.
• 26:28
Speaker 1: Vessel was abandoned in the middle of the Pacific, about 360 miles from land after a blaze.
• 26:33
Speaker 1: It was carrying about 3,000 vehicles, of which about 800 were EVs.
• 26:37
Speaker 1: Damage caused by the fire was compounded by heavy weather, causing the ship to take on water and ultimately sink.
• 26:48
Speaker 1: On June 23rd, smoke was initially seen emanating from a deck carrying electric vehicles.
• 26:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, the vessel was carrying cars from a range of manufacturers, including Cherry Automobile Company and Great Wall Motor Company, obviously from China to Mexico.
• 27:05
Speaker 1: Yikes, I got to see that.
• 27:09
Speaker 1: What was it called?
• 27:11
  Speaker 1: Poop Deck?
• 27:12
Speaker 1: Or whatever it was called the movie, yeah, the documentary, did you see that?
• 27:16
Speaker 1: No, no, no, you talked about it.
• 27:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, quite nasty, it was quite nasty.
• 27:20
Speaker 1: That was a boat, a Carnival cruise that left Galveston, went down to Progreso.
• 27:27
  Speaker 3: Mexico and Cozumel.
• 27:27
Speaker 3: I don't think they need to hear this story.
• 27:28
  Speaker 3: I really don't.
• 27:30
  Speaker 3: It's pretty bad.
• 27:31
Speaker 1: Well, you probably remember it, because it made the news and it lost power in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico at the time.
• 27:38
Speaker 1: Now it's the Gulf of America and they had to tow it back to Mobile Alabama.
• 27:42
Speaker 1: It took them eight days and it was an absolute mess, as you can imagine.
• 27:48
Speaker 3: I thought you were going to go into details, though no no, I can avoid that I had to stop you?
• 27:52
Speaker 1: Hey, we'd love to hear from you.
