- 0:00[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the concluding broadcast of this week here on the Bible track echoes radio program.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_02]: I greatly appreciate your faithful listenership we've been listening to Dr. Paul Levine.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_02]: Now realize he's the founder of this very broadcast back in 1957-1958.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_02]: Dr. Paul went on the airways for the very first time with Bible Trek echoes and I'm so proud to be here carrying on the mantle of this great man.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: Now he's been preaching a message entitled the Demand of discipleship.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_02]: And though he went to heaven all the way back in 1996, the words he's been speaking on the radio this week.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_02]: have still been so very true, so very biblical and I'd like to ask you to continue listening in as he asks this question, are you willing to die?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: That's a heavy question.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: Before we get there though, let me tell you about a gospel track that's a brand new redesign.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: Now you can find this gospel track on Bible tracks Inc.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_02]: The web address is Bibletracksink.org, the announcer at the conclusion of the broadcast will tell you more about getting in contact with us, but this track is called, have you received God's gift.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: And it's a very eye-catching design on the front.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: It says, in bold letters across the inside of this track, a gift must be received to be enjoyed.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we have to realize, you and I friend,
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Because you and I, we need a save here.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: Let me ask you.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: Will you go to bibletracksing.org and get this gospel track for free?
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: We print, produce, ship all over the world.

- 1:50[SPEAKER_02]: Now, let's ask and answer that question.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_02]: Are you willing to die?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: Dr. Paul concludes his message titled The Demand of Discipleship.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_02]: Listen now.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_00]: Young man was going to a very dangerous mission field, and somebody says, hey, that's a dangerous place for you to go.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: Don't you know you might get killed out there?
- 2:09[SPEAKER_00]: He says, I died, but I died when I told him I'd go.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm already dead.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Don't worry about getting killed.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: I'm already dead.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: See?
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sir.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: And another one was to be summoned for martyrdom, and you know what he said?
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: He said, they forget I'm already dead.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's already settled.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's not high, but it's Christ.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't only say I'm born out to suffer, and I'm not only going to be rejected, and I'm not only going to die, but blessed God, I'm going to be raised this third day.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, what's that mean?
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: That means a new life.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: You see, you mean after I'm dead and buried, I got to have a new life, and he turned it on me, not.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yes, but it means right now.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: You die like that kernel of corn.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: and die, and bring forth fruits.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: And there's going to be a resurrection.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what it means?
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: It means a brand new life right here on earth like you never dreamed was possible.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: You just have no idea, young folks are wonderful.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: There should be saved and be in the will of God.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yep, no idea.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're scared to death of it.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I know some of you say, if I work down in a child, God will send me an Africa.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: So what?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: You'll be happier and happier and happier than you would be anywhere else in the world.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: If that's what God wants.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: You ask any missionary, and I've asked a lot of them, and missionary, some all kinds of areas in this world, and I've asked them, are you sorry, you gotta go back?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: They said, no, we can't wait to get back.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: The true missionary that said, we can't wait to get back.
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to go back.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be afraid of the will of God.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't afraid of the will of God for a while.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: But listen to our young folks, the will of God is not all suffering.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all ridicule.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all people spent in your face.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all make people make in front of you.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's not all sacrifice.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let's God, there's rewards for this because there's resurrection.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: There's a new life for you.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: See?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sir.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: Now, look, Dr. Bill said, Lord, I'll die to the wrench.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you want me to leave the ranch, I'll die to that.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, how we think God he did.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And that's why he came with his wife, the establishes work.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: But what did God do with Bill Rice?
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: What God put him right back, where he liked to be?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: Put him on the ranch.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: See how nice of us?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: God put him right back on.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: He got to live on the ranch after all.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I was young.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_00]: You folks around here know how I love to play ball.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: And then I had all kinds of ideas about playing ball, and I was young.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so when I was 15, I started to preach.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: And you know I never played ball.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_00]: Never played in a ball game.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: From the time I was 15, that I was almost 35.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: My best boy playing here, from the time I was 15, got us clear up on my 30s, never played ball.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: just out preaching somewhere.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then they got a couple of leads going right at home and they got the night ball and under the lights and saw I could work during the day and I could go play ball night.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: But for about 20 years, good years of my life for a ball, play to never play ball.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that'd be a sacrifice, no.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's got done to me.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: He let me play more buzz than I was 35, 45, 55, 65, sick.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: The last 31 years, I mean, I played on the... Oh, man, I played a lot of ball in the last 30, some years.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: 31 years.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: See?
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Look, God doesn't want you to be miserable and unhappy, God has a paycheck for you.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you're dying, there's going to be a resurrection young folks.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: If you're saying Lord, not mine, real, but mine, you'll find out that his will is wonderful for you.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: I just give up the rebellion and be willing to be saved and give your life to God.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: We had here on this, on this, on this, on this came ground a few years ago, young fellow, who was
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: One of the older campers, I think he was 19.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: He was so rebellious, he came with a heaven crowd, and he had several buses.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: He was so rebellious against God and the Bible and the church and the will of God, he wouldn't even lie on the bus.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: He wrote in his own car behind the bus and smoke cigarettes all the way down the cave.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was going to show him, well, nobody's going to push him around, he'd be a surre, so that's what he did.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he was a great bonfire.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: He batted left hand and he could hit a bow like a bullet.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And after I tried to stop a couple of his line drives, whenever he could up the bat, I got out and right field somewhere.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'll never forget him.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: He can knock a fellow down with a line drive.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember on Wednesday night, Dave Hiles came to me and he began to talk to me about this voice.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm concerned about her Thursday after the service was mentioned.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm concerned about him.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: He told me a little bit about him and he said, brother, I pray for this fellow.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I said, okay, we will pray.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that next morning when I preached, there he was.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: Far back as you could get.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_00]: You can find him, you have to find him up around here.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: He was as far back as he could get back there.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: And he was going to stay as far away from the gospel and God and everything as he could.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: But that,
- 6:59[SPEAKER_00]: morning God got a hold of him when we gave the invitation down he was of the first one here he came down at a boy was like medicine come and I can still see Dave the big smile on his face is he saw those fellow come he came down God on his knees and he shredded his life to God maybe he went to the dying process maybe he said, Lord I'm sorry I'm coming back I'm giving you my life
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: And about a year ago, last April, I was up there for a half a week with the young people up there and along the home.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: This fellow was on the staff.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: He was on the platform every night, and he was just getting ready to leave and go out and be on the young people's staff with Ray Bateman who has one of the biggest churches.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's not the biggest church on the West Coast.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: No, he might have said, I am not going to heal, I'm not going to give in, I'm not going to be right with God, I'm not going to die, and he would have been on nobody today.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: He'd have been alone like that kind of a corn on the desk.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: But now he's serving God.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_00]: You can do the same thing.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: God's got a place for you to serve him too, but God's not going to show me where he's going to, where he wants you to serve him, tell you, give up, and you surrender your will to him.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: I got a letter from a young lady and she said,
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Brother Pa, just one night, when you gave the invitation, I came forward.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: I did not tell the counselor why I came forward.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think she'd understand.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: She said, I am told, and I'm about to be going to tell you in this letter.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: I've got the letter all there in my room.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: She said, I grew up in the preacher's home.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, I made up my mind, one thing about it.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: I want to go to Mary preacher.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's for sure.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: not going to marry a preacher.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: Well, she said the Lord had different ideas, so the Lord was convicted of me about it.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: So she said that night when I came forward, I didn't tell a counselor, but I just got on my knees and I said, Lord, now if you do want me to marry a preacher, I will marry a preacher, if that's what you want.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_00]: See, God doesn't want all you go to marry a preacher.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: But he might want some of you too.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of you girls out there, he wants you to marry a full-time Christian worker.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: May not be a preacher.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: It may be a Christian school teacher.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: It may be a Christian school administrator or maybe full-time Christian work like on the ranch here.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: But that's what God wants.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: He wants you to marry the man of his choice that you can have in first-time Christian work.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: If full-time Christian work, and he does not want you to waste your life with some other man doing nothing for God.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: And on her knees right there, she said, yes, Lord, if you want me to marry a preacher, I will.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: She said, I want the Bible college, and I'm at, we'll call him Joe, I's not his name, I'm at Joe.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, now we are married and Joe, and this girl right today are in full-time Christian work.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Now, look.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Would you girls tonight?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: Would you, have you got what it takes to say?
- 10:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm willing to suffer.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: I'm willing to be rejected by my friends.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: I'm willing to give up that unsafe boyfriend or give up that unsafe girlfriend.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: I'm willing to lose some little gang back home if I have to.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm willing to die.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: And if it means Lord, yes.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: How many of you, if you want me to, or a question word, would you do it?
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: Would you do it, girls?
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't mean it, that we don't really mean it at all.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now, wonder how many of you in just a minute when we give an invitation?
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: We'll walk down here and you say, Lord, I'm just going to give you my life.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: Men and women both here.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to give you my life.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: And whatever you've got planned for my future, I'm going to die to myself.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't die, you'll abide alone.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: You will amount to anything, but if you'll die, you'll bring forth much fruit.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know how many of you will do that tonight.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Are young people?
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of stuff are you made of?
- 10:57[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a safety?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: You can't take any suffering, you can't take any ridicule, you can't take in your rejection, you don't want to die, you're going to just get lost in the crowd and a vital home.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I wonder how many of you tonight say, boy, listen, Paul, you haven't talked to me how to follow the Lord.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_00]: Even if it means suffering and rejection of those who are to accept me, and even though it means to die, I'm going to go right on to it with the Lord.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to follow him, and I know there's a resurrection of the right right now.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I know I'm going to have a life of joy and blessing and usefulness and you will.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: And you heard about it this morning.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: You heard about it last night.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: So this and I may not be too new to you, but some of you have felt it and rejected it, but this is your big night to give in and say, Lord, I'll be willing to follow you, suffer, be rejected and die.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: Take my life, give me the resurrection life, and help me to bear fruit for you so that I won't have to abide, or a little less power hatching prayer.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_02]: Dear friend, is there a decision that you need to make at this moment?
- 12:11[SPEAKER_02]: Do you need to, in the silence of your own mind, bow the knee, and ask God, for that grit, for that discipleship, for that fervor, for the things of God?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_02]: Though this message was preached for decades ago, it still rings true to death.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_02]: Friend, what will you do with the demand of discipleship?
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for listening to the Bible Track and was Radio Broadcast.
