- 0:01Just about every individual, including those practicing, a
- 0:05spiritual discipline of some sort creates an image of himself
- 0:10that he then projects out into the world.
- 0:14This image is something of a stylized and idealized version
- 0:18of himself that attempts to present the highest and best of
- 0:22his aspiration, whether it be mental development, expressions
- 0:26of Faith compassion, Goodwill purity.
- 0:31And an abstain Mia's nature. Not given over to
- 0:34overindulgence. To a certain degree.
- 0:38If someone has been called to the spiritual path.
- 0:41There is a truth to this presentation at the same time.
- 0:46The complex elements of human nature and the different parts
- 0:50of the being are not generally unified around this highest and
- 0:54best self. And thus, there are moments when
- 0:59the other element assert themselves in Cloud over the
- 1:02aspiration, the faith, the devotion.
- 1:06The compassionate nature in many instances, the individual does
- 1:11not recognize the chinks in the image and remains quite ignorant
- 1:16of his own weaknesses and failings or else.
- 1:20If he is aware of them, he may try to justify their existence
- 1:24on some basis, this is, especially the case where the
- 1:28vital nature convinces. The mind to justify some
- 1:31expression of Desire. This leads to the question of
- 1:36what is sincerity and how it can be achieved by the spiritual
- 1:41Seeker. A disciple inquires.
- 1:45What does sincerity mean? Exactly?
- 1:49The mother notes quote, there are several degrees of
- 1:52sincerity. The most Elementary degree is
- 1:56not to say, one thing and think another claim, one thing.
- 2:00And want another, for example, what happens quite often to say,
- 2:05I want to make progress, and I want to get rid of my defects
- 2:09and at the same time to cherish ones defects in the
- 2:12Consciousness, and take great care to hide them, so that
- 2:16nobody intervenes and sends them off.
- 2:19This is indeed a very common phenomenon.
- 2:23This is already the second degree.
- 2:26The first degree you see is when someone claims for example, to
- 2:30have a very great aspiration and to want the spiritual life and
- 2:35at the same time, those completely how to put it
- 2:40shamelessly things, which are most contradictory to the
- 2:43spiritual life. This is indeed a degree of
- 2:47sincerity rather of insincerity, which is most obvious.
- 2:53But there is a second degree which I have just described to
- 2:55you which is like this. There's one part of the being
- 2:59which has an aspiration and says even thinks even feels that it
- 3:05would very much like to get rid of defects imperfections and
- 3:10then at the same time other parts which hide these defects
- 3:14and Imperfections very carefully.
- 3:16So as not to be compelled to expose them and get over them,
- 3:21this is very And finally, if we go far enough, if we push the
- 3:27description far enough so long as there is a part of the being
- 3:31which contradicts the central aspiration for the Divine one is
- 3:36not perfectly sincere, that is to say a perfect, sincerity is
- 3:41something extremely rare and most commonly very, very
- 3:46frequently. When there are things in one's
- 3:48nature, which one does not like one takes the greatest care too
- 3:52high. Hide them from oneself.
- 3:55One finds favorable explanations were simply, makes a little
- 3:59movement like this gesture. You have noticed that when
- 4:05things move like this, you can't see them clearly, well, where
- 4:09the defect is seated, there is a kind of vibration which does
- 4:14this. And so your site is not clear,
- 4:17you no longer see your defects, And this is automatic.
- 4:22Well, all these are insincerity, 's and perfect.
- 4:27Sincerity comes when at the center of the being, there is
- 4:30the consciousness of the divine presence, the consciousness of
- 4:34the Divine will. And when the entire being like a
- 4:39luminous, clear transparent whole expresses this in all its
- 4:45details. This is indeed true sincerity.
- 4:50When it any moment, whatever may happen.
- 4:54The being has given itself to the Divine and wants only the
- 4:57Divine will when no matter what is going on in the being at any
- 5:02moment, whatever, always the whole being in perfect unanimity
- 5:07can say, to the Divine and feels for the Divine, let thy will be
- 5:13done when it is spontaneous total integral.
- 5:19Then you are sincere but until this is established, it is a
- 5:25mixed sincerity more or less mixed right up to the point
- 5:30where one is not at all sincere. One must never pretend that one
- 5:35is one must be spontaneously. This is sincerity in reference

- 5:49inner development. Chapter 3 growth of
