Lucas: Perfect rhythm. So, if you see it, you point and say: el elefante. Luna: El elefante. With the long trunk. Lucas: Yes. Okay, now we hear some noise above us. Look up! Luna: Is that a bird? Lucas: No. It is jumping around. It is a monkey. Luna: A monkey? Lucas: In Spanish, we say el mono. Luna: El mono. Lucas: Let me hear it. El mono. Luna: El mono. Lucas: Very good. Short and quick. Like the monkey itself. Luna: El mono. He looks funny. Lucas: He does. He is probably stealing snacks. But wait, look over there. Something tall. Luna: So tall! It has spots. Lucas: It is a giraffe. In Spanish, la jirafa. Luna: La jirafa. Lucas: Listen carefully. La jirafa. Note the 'j' sound, like a soft breathy 'h'. Luna: La jirafa. Lucas: Try again. La jirafa. Luna: La jirafa. Lucas: Excellent. You are getting the hang of these animals quickly. Luna: I feel like a pro already. El león, el elefante, el mono, la jirafa. Lucas: Let us put them together. We see the lion first. Luna: El león. Big and loud. Lucas: Then we walk to the big gray one. Luna: El elefante. Very slow and gentle. Lucas: Then we hear the screeching from the trees. Luna: El mono. Playing everywhere. Lucas: And finally, we look up at the tallest one. Luna: La jirafa. Eating leaves from the top. Lucas: You did that beautifully. Let us repeat just the lion one more time to lock it in. Luna: El león. Lucas: And the elephant. Luna: El elefante. Lucas: The monkey. Luna: El mono. Lucas: And the giraffe. Luna: La jirafa. Lucas: Great work today.
