- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn Cantonese with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and with me as always is Luna. Luna: Hey everyone! Last episode we were cooking up a storm. Now I'm ready to eat it all. Lucas: Right? Well, today we're talking about taking that food outside. A picnic. Luna: Oh, I love picnics. How do you say 'picnic' in Cantonese? Lucas: It's 野餐. Say it with me: 野餐. Luna: 野餐. That sounds like 'yeah chaan'? 野餐. Lucas: Exactly. 野餐. So if you want to say 'let's have a picnic', you could say 我哋去野餐. Luna: 我哋去野餐. That means 'we go picnic'? 'Let's go picnic'? Lucas: Exactly. Now, for a picnic, you need to bring food. 'Bring food' is 帶食物. Luna: 帶食物. So 帶 is 'bring', 食物 is 'food'. 帶食物. Lucas: Perfect. So, yesterday I went to the park and I brought some sandwiches. 'Sit on the grass' is 坐草地. Luna: 坐草地. 坐 is 'sit', 草地 is 'grass'. 坐草地. Lucas: Right. And when you're sitting there, it feels great. 'Very comfortable' is 好舒服. Luna: 好舒服. I can imagine that. So you could say 坐草地好舒服. Lucas: Exactly! Let's try a little dialogue. I'll be me, you be you. I say: 我哋去野餐,帶咗食物,坐草地. What do you say? Luna: 好舒服! That's easy. Lucas: Great. And if someone asks you what you brought, you can say: 我帶咗三文治. Luna: 我帶咗三文治. And then I can ask: 你帶咗咩嚟食? What did you bring to eat? Lucas: Oh, good question. 你帶咗咩嚟食? That's a handy phrase.
