Transcript
- 0:00Sean McAllister: We are ready to rock with Sammy Hagar on episode 75 of Vegas Reveal.
- 0:07Dayna Roselli: We traveled to the top of the strat to talk with Sammy Hagar himself as he announced his first ever Las Vegas residency show.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Van Haden saw standing on top of the wheel.
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, we've probably opened with that.
- 0:19Dayna Roselli: Los Cirque du Soleil is back on the strip after 15 months away from the stage.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: Along with our first taste of Allegiance Stadium's food and drink, and this is way more than hot dogs and popcorn.
- 0:33Sean McAllister: Let's spin the wheel.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 75.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: Yes, it's July of 2021 already.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli along with Sean McAllister.
- 0:56Sean McAllister: And you know what?
- 0:57Sean McAllister: July, especially July 4th weekend, means Vegas is back in full force at this point.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: I mean, we've been talking about how we've been ramping up, shows have been opening, restaurants have been opening.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: Last week we had Resorts World opening, a new casino property, but now the entire city's open, Dana.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 1:17Dayna Roselli: We're gonna talk about our Resorts World experience at the party, the pre-grand opening party.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: So we were inside before they actually opened the doors to the public at 11 p.m.
- 1:28Dayna Roselli: And we're gonna talk all about that coming up in just a little bit, but we've got a bunch of items that we need to get to, and they all center around Las Vegas opening, like Sean said.
- 1:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, and as we mentioned in the open of the show, Cirque du Soleil is back.
- 1:42Sean McAllister: We'll get into that.
- 1:43Sean McAllister: Uh sports are back, concerts are back, lots to get into.
- 1:49Sean McAllister: Uh but as we look ahead and look forward to being back in front of uh live entertainment again here in Las Vegas, we have another residency that was just announced.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Sammy Hagar announced his first ever residency show.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: He's done things in town before many times, and he's always over at uh Cabo Wabo Cantina, and he owns that.
- 2:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this announcement was made at the top of the strat.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: So looking over the entire city of Las Vegas at sundown.
- 2:18Sean McAllister: So it was a really cool vibe as uh the Red Rocker was up there.
- 2:24Sean McAllister: His hair was blowing in the breeze a little bit.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:26Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: I didn't know much about Sammy Hagar before, let me tell you.
- 2:30Dayna Roselli: And when we met him, uh, I thought, you know, what a great guy.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: I had so much fun talking to him.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: And then when they're playing all the music, I'm like, oh yeah, this song, that song.
- 2:40Dayna Roselli: I mean, what a guy.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: And he is blowing up our TikTok, Sean.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: Like, I posted a video in there, and it's like, I don't even know, in the 80,000 views and thousands and thousands of comments, and I posted another one, and that's in the, you know, 30,000 views.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: So he's a big deal.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: So Sammy Hagar is a rock icon and a TikTok star.
- 3:02Dayna Roselli: He doesn't even know it, right?
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: But yeah, we talked to him about the show he's gonna be doing, kicks off at the end of October.
- 3:10Dayna Roselli: He had two weekends booked for shows, but they apparently sold out in two hours.
- 3:14Sean McAllister: I mean, that's incredible demand.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: When you talk about selling out in two hours, uh, especially in a a showroom the size that they have over at the Strat, um, I mean, that's incredible.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: That that there is so much fan support for Sammy Hagar right out of the gate.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: It's amazing.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: They added two more shows in November, too, to hopefully, you know, get more people in the door because he sold out so quick.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: So they're gonna have two shows on a weekend in November, I think the weekend of the 12th of November.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: So if you didn't get a chance to get tickets and you want to go, you'll still have a chance.
- 3:47Sean McAllister: The name of the show is Sammy Hagar and Friends.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: So when we were talking with Sammy up there at the top of the strat, uh we were wondering exactly which friends are gonna be up there with him.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: I've got three bands.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: I've got Chicken Foot, my favorite band, my new band, The Circle, who's really my band now, and my old band, the Wabbo's, who were my greatest party band in the world.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: We threw that big party, we had people on stage and had waitresses bringing us margaritas, you know, and and so I'm gonna kind of bring all everybody in and all my friends that come to Cabo, you know, Toby Keith and Kenny Chesley, country guys, and they come up and and we just play.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: And so the idea of Sammy and friends is whoever shows up, then we just do that.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: And we're gonna change the set list every night.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: It's not even gonna be a set list, quite honestly.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, folks, but there'll be plenty of hits, plenty of my stuff, plenty of Van Halen stuff, plenty of mantro stuff, but not like a set list where we do a show.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: This is an event, this is a residency.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: You're coming to my house.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna create an environment, we're gonna have my booze, we're gonna have my kind of food, so it's a deeper experience.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: It really is.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm plan I'm planning on having something really special, and uh, I'm just excited because like I say, the strat, they just said, sure, you know, my friends are going, yeah, whatever you want to do.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: I'm going, all right.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: You know, that's like my mom don't even let me do that.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: My wife don't let me do whatever I want to do.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: Sounds like it's gonna be a great show, and that's an incredible theater, too.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: But we also asked Sammy, you know, with Vegas being open now, it's gotta feel good to be able to announce a brand new show.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Excitement about it reopening.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: That's um we came in first.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: As soon as we heard it was gonna be reopening, made the deal um to to do it, and when we can do it, you know, the room's booked up for a lot of other stuff, so I'm taking in my little holes now.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: But next year, my dream would be to do a month on and a month off.
- 5:31Dayna Roselli: And so there you heard it.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, Sammy wants to do more shows next year, but you know, there were a lot of comments on our TikTok page saying, well, why is he only doing just a bunch of shows?
- 5:40Dayna Roselli: Is it really a residency?
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: But but you heard him just say it's you know, a lot of the the dates and and times for the theater are already booked for other acts.
- 5:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, but uh we are hearing that there's potential that um Sammy could be adding uh more dates as things go on throughout the end of the year.
- 6:00Sean McAllister: So fingers crossed, we'd love to have Sammy Hagar, you know, performing regularly now and not have to wait until 2022.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Things are always shifting in Vegas, people.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: There's movement, you know.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: So we'll have to stay tuned.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: And if not, tickets for those two shows on sale, the other ones are sold out.
- 6:16Sean McAllister: And speaking of things moving and happening, we finally have Cirque du Soleil shows back on stage here in Las Vegas.
- 6:24Sean McAllister: And these Cirque shows have really kind of become synonymous with Vegas Entertainment, but uh they've been dark for the past 15 months because of the pandemic.
- 6:34Sean McAllister: But but those performers are finally back on stage, at least for a couple of shows right now.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: Myster and O are back.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: So Mystere's at Treasure Island, uh great theater that they've been in for a very, very long time.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: Myster is the original Cirque show, the first one that opened.
- 6:48Dayna Roselli: The one with the big baby, right?
- 6:49Sean McAllister: The baby and the snail, lots of weird stuff happening there.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: And O is back at the Bellagio too, which is a beautiful show.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: And it's great because the Bellagio doesn't have, they have the Mayfair Supper Club and then the theater that has O in it.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: But other than that, you know, there's no other shows in the building at the Bellagio, so that'll be good that that's back now.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's their mainstay uh performance at Bellagio.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: And then Michael Jackson 1 is coming back at Mandalay Bay as well, and then apparently Cobb will be back at MGM Grand too.
- 7:20Sean McAllister: So all Cirque shows are set to be back on stage and up and running uh by the end of the year.
- 7:27Sean McAllister: And uh it really is a logistical feat to get these shows uh back up and running because you have to remember that the performers in these shows are world-class athletes.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: And after 15 months of not being able to do the training that is necessary off stage for their roles in these shows, like they they might not have uh access to trapeze equipment.
- 7:54Sean McAllister: And gyms were shut down, and uh pools were shut down where where these swimmers for the aquatic shows would go and train.
- 8:02Sean McAllister: I know a lot of them had to go out to Lake Mead and do open water swimming because there were no swimming pools open.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: So, you know, these athletes need to get their bodies back in shape before they can get back up and and do all of these incredible aerial lacks and the dancing and the bending and everything that's involved.
- 8:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it definitely.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: And they have a lot of safety procedures in place, so they need to make sure that they are uh full force, you know, and they probably had like let's be honest, during this whole year, you know, maybe they indulged in a little more pizza or snacks.
- 8:36Sean McAllister: Maybe there were some dots pretzels on the counter.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: Exactly, you know, it takes a while to get that off because these guys they have like zero body fat.
- 8:43Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: And I know that uh in some of the shows, the the water has to be heated, and even backstage the temperature is is pumped up because when they get out of the water, the evaporation happens and the athletes get really cold and they have zero body fat to keep them insulated, so they have to you know give them spaces so that their bodies don't get cold and their muscles don't cramp up.
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: I want that problem.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: Ugh I know, right?
- 9:13Sean McAllister: My gosh, if all that you have is skin and muscle.
- 9:16Sean McAllister: God.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: I'll take being chilly, just wrap a big blanket around me.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: I'll give up my my uh insulation.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: So it's great that they're back.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Blue Man Group's back at the Luxor, too.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: So that's another great show, and especially for families.
- 9:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, and Blue Man Group is a big sensory overload and great experience.
- 9:36Sean McAllister: You'll you'll come out of there with uh things that you've probably never seen before if you haven't been to Blue Man.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Okay, what else are we talking about?
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: We've got uh a lot of information about Allegiant Stadium's food because Sean and I went to Allegiant Stadium to do like a food tasting of all the things they're gonna offer once, you know, shows because they're gonna have a lot of concerts and games kick up there, obviously, for the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: And so when you think of stadium food, you know, you normally think about hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, that kind of stuff.
- 10:10Sean McAllister: Allegiant Stadium will have all of that, but there is a ton that they have added to their culinary samplings, and and this is not your normal stadium food, Dana.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: No, there's an assortment of food and beverage from like top-of-the-line chefs, and I love the mix in too of local establishments from here in Las Vegas.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: So we've got, you know, chefs, we've got owners of um popular restaurants all across Las Vegas that are gonna be featuring their food inside Allegiant Stadium.
- 10:42Sean McAllister: And you know who I love?
- 10:44Sean McAllister: Uh I love Susan Fenegar and Mary Sue Milliken.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: They are uh the chefs behind Border Grill over at Mandalay Bay.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: But they also have a Barbecue Mexicana, which is also at Mandalay Bay, and they are offering up at Allegiant Stadium these shredded brisket burritos.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I had one.
- 11:06Sean McAllister: Oh like uh if if there is just one thing that you are gonna eat, you need to get a brisket burrito.
- 11:16Sean McAllister: It was freaking phenomenal.
- 11:18Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:19Sean McAllister: And this is also uh if you've ever been out to uh the Las Vegas ballpark at downtown Summerlin, where the Las Vegas Aviators baseball team plays, they do a burnt ends burrito, so like the the really crispy ends of the brisket, they turn that into a burrito.
- 11:35Sean McAllister: It's the same place.
- 11:36Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 11:36Sean McAllister: But they're just doing the shredded brisket at Allegiant Stadium.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: Love it.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: I had two different kinds of burgers, so because they were they they cut them in halves, so don't think that I ate two burgers, but I ate two halves that make one whole of a burger, but I wanted to try two different places.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: I also saw there Capriotti's famous Bobby sub is gonna be available at Allegiant Stadium.
- 11:58Sean McAllister: And that's like Thanksgiving on a bun.
- 11:59Sean McAllister: It's so good.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: It's the turkey thing.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: Little mayonnaise put on there.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah, it's really, really good.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: Plus, uh, they're gonna have dining including a roster of Las Vegas restaurants like Cafe Lola, like I mentioned, uh Capriati's Evil Pie, Freed's Bakery, Sushi Joe, Sliding Through, Island Flavor, all sorts of places, Battleborne burgers.
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: So we're excited to see all them.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: But there's also something for the folks that just want the traditional hot dog.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this is really cool.
- 12:33Sean McAllister: So when you get into elevated stadium food, you know, the prices are are going to be elevated too.
- 12:40Sean McAllister: However, uh they wanted to make sure that there were accessible prices for a lot of the mainstay food options, like hot dogs, popcorn, pretzels, sodas, and they've got all of that available for just three dollars each.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's called the house deals menu.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: So I think it's a great idea.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, a lot of these people are forking up money that you know, I want to say they can't afford it, but some people like it's a big deal.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: They save up all year to go to a game, and maybe they just want a three-dollar hot dog.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: They need to be able to experience stuff too.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: So I love that they had this menu, and a lot of people just want, let's be honest.
- 13:19Dayna Roselli: Like a hot dog and some popcorn.
- 13:21Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Plus, I'm not gonna lie, I really liked our swag bag.
- 13:24Sean McAllister: I know there was some great stuff in there, wasn't there?
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: I finally have a Las Vegas Raiders hat.
- 13:28Sean McAllister: And and cups and little hand-wavy thingies for game day.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: What do you do with that?
- 13:35Dayna Roselli: I get stressed out when I get official stuff that's like for year one or the opening of because I don't want to use it.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: I know.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: And and I hate it because I kind of want to use it, but I don't I mean, I have a bottle of Golden Knights wine that I've never cracked because it's from the inaugural year.
- 13:51Sean McAllister: We ended up drinking our Golden Knights wine.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: Was it during COVID and you were desperate for it?
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: It was.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: It was.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: We were like, oh, we don't have any other wine.
- 13:58Sean McAllister: Let's open the Golden Knights wine.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: We're yearning for it, but that was the 2016 wine when they just announced the team.
- 14:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 14:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's it's it's a weird thing.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: You hold on to it, thinking, I don't know what we're thinking.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: What are we thinking?
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: We're gonna, I mean, we're not gonna sell it, probably.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Um, I don't know why we feel we can't use it.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: You've been down to my living room.
- 14:17Sean McAllister: You see all the the Golden Knights stuff that we have framed in in shadow boxes and in frames with the the posters and the pucks and the pins and the pennants and all of that.
- 14:29Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 14:30Sean McAllister: We we bought all that stuff up and now it's decoration.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: So maybe you do the same thing.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: Maybe, maybe frame your uh Raiders hat or something.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: No, I want to wear the Raiders hat.
- 14:39SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna wear that.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: I just don't know about the cups and the other stuff.
- 14:41Sean McAllister: Yeah, I'm sure you'll figure out something to do with it, Dana.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: Um, there's a big celebration happening here in Las Vegas for the month of July.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: You know, we talk about station casinos a lot here on the podcast, really.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: And these are the the casinos that are off the strip.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: Red Rock Resorts, uh Green Valley Ranch Resort, uh Palace Station, which is right there off of Sahara, Sunset Station, Boulder Station.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there's a lot, you know, and and they're in every part of town, which is awesome.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: And they're a big part of our community.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: And you know what?
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: They've become very popular with visitors too.
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: I mean, visitors, especially that drive into town, often hit station casinos because they have a lot of great things to offer.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: So they're celebrating their 45th anniversary.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: Which is so great.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: And, you know, the the slogan is we love locals, and they do.
- 15:30Sean McAllister: And as part of this 45th anniversary celebration, they have a lot of deals for locals.
- 15:36Sean McAllister: Uh, we spoke with Joe Yalda, who is the VP of Guest Experience at Red Rock Resort.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: And his career path to get to the position he's in now is really interesting because he didn't start as a casino executive.
- 15:51Sean McAllister: He kind of started with a very entry-level job as a teenager.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so you know, I was so lucky.
- 15:57SPEAKER_03: Um, the story goes, I was cleaning offices across the street where Red Rock was just a dirt lot of the time for my for my parents' cleaning company.
- 16:05SPEAKER_03: And I remember my dad would always push me to, he's like, you need to go work for Red Rock for stations.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: My friends work there.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: Like, I've heard nothing but good thing.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: And mind you, we had only been in town for about four years at this point or five years.
- 16:15SPEAKER_03: So it was very new to us, casinos are very new.
- 16:18SPEAKER_03: And I remember one day I passed by my high school guidance counselor and I went to Duranko and I was like, hey, you know what?
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: I really want to go work at Red Rock.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: I've never actually applied for a job, I've never interviewed anywhere before.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Can you help me out?
- 16:30SPEAKER_03: And and thank God to that person because they knew someone who was actually doing the recruiting at the time for Red Rock and were able to get me an interview.
- 16:36SPEAKER_03: And that was at 16 years old.
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: And I was uh I started as a busser at our oyster bar, which is no longer here.
- 16:42SPEAKER_03: It's where Blue Ribbon currently stands.
- 16:43SPEAKER_03: And I've been so blessed to grow in this company and grow with these people for the last 16 years of my life.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: And I love to hear that because a lot of our listeners sometimes they'll send us messages like I really want to move to Vegas, but how hard is it to get a job there?
- 16:55Dayna Roselli: So this is a good inspiration for a lot of those people that want to live the dream and work and live in Las Vegas, that's for sure.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: I always say Vegas is the land of opportunity.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: You know, you can come and make it what you want out of it, and it will get them there.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: And I've noticed um this year especially, I mean, I think you know, we're in tune to what each property around town is doing to kind of get people in the door and make the experience a little bit different.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: And you guys have really done some unique things this year, haven't you?
- 17:23SPEAKER_03: Um unique is is the best way to describe it.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: I think, especially coming out of the pandemic and all this uncertainty and unknown that was going on in our city.
- 17:32SPEAKER_03: Um, the nice thing about stations is we've always been known to have the cleanest and safest property.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: So to just enhance that and make it comfortable for our guests to come back out, especially after that going through that moment in their life, has been such an awesome time.
- 17:44SPEAKER_03: And then it reflects with all the people that have been coming over the last year to come have that experience you you get at station casinos.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, the crimson stuff has been great too.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: People have loved that to have a place to go.
- 17:55SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Merry Crimson.
- 17:56SPEAKER_03: I mean, who would have thought?
- 17:57SPEAKER_03: I remember we were sitting at a meeting and somebody was like, we should turn Crimson to a Christmas bar, and we'll call it like Merry Crimson.
- 18:02SPEAKER_03: It needs to be Santa, like throwing up Christmas everywhere.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: And it was such a hit in town.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: I mean, it was always an hour wait to get in and a lot of fun, especially in you know, the holidays and the festivities.
- 18:13SPEAKER_03: It it just brings that warm feeling that not a lot of people realize Vegas has to offer, but it really is.
- 18:18SPEAKER_03: It's home for all of us.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: Well, and and I'm of a certain age where I remember when you know Crimson was the big nightclub, and out at Green Valley Ranch, you had Whiskey Beach.
- 18:28Sean McAllister: That was the hot spot every single weekend.
- 18:31Sean McAllister: So I love that there's been an evolution.
- 18:34Sean McAllister: And now that I uh don't really frequent nightclubs anymore and prefer the lounge situation, it's great.
- 18:41Sean McAllister: So thank you.
- 18:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, you and I both.
- 18:43Sean McAllister: No, thank you.
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: No, it's true though.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: And even we put the clips on our social media of Inside Crimson and uh Crimson and Bloom.
- 18:51Dayna Roselli: Everyone, even from around the world, was like, where is that?
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: I want to go, you know.
- 18:55Dayna Roselli: I mean, it really was beautiful.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: So um talk about some of the things you guys are doing for the 45th birthday.
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: You know, uh July 1st is our 45th anniversary.
- 19:05SPEAKER_03: Uh 45 years getting to be a part of this local community.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: And it really is a company built by and for locals.
- 19:11SPEAKER_03: Um, coming through.
- 19:12SPEAKER_03: We have fireworks on the 4th of July um going at Red Rock and Green Valley Ranch, that are going to set to go off at nine o'clock.
- 19:19SPEAKER_03: We have specials throughout all our properties.
- 19:21SPEAKER_03: Uh, but the one thing I can tell you is our team members, if you go to any of our station's properties, you'll be able to see your favorite team members there.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: And that's been 45 years of that in the city.
- 19:30Sean McAllister: Over the past 45 years, obviously there has been uh a great family feeling that Station Casinos has built.
- 19:38Sean McAllister: What does the the next 45 years hold for Station Casinos?
- 19:43SPEAKER_03: I think we stick to what we know and we stick to relationships and we stick to prioritizing our team members and the guests.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: I think that's been the winning recipe that Frank Fortita Jr.
- 19:52SPEAKER_03: was able uh was able to come up with 45 years ago, and it's still that legacy to continue on.
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: Um it's kind of one of those if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
- 20:00SPEAKER_03: It should, it's gonna last forever.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: And and that's the beauty of it all.
- 20:03SPEAKER_03: It's that home and family feeling you get at our properties.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: And you guys, you know, really uh have paid attention to what restaurants you bring in.
- 20:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, you're bringing in quality restaurants, you have restaurants there that are have been there for a while and and they're working.
- 20:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's also important too.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: I think sometimes people think, well, it's not on the strip, you know.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I want to, you know, venture off the strip to go to a restaurant, but you have destination point restaurants too.
- 20:27SPEAKER_03: Definitely like Fiorella's like a great example of that.
- 20:30SPEAKER_03: You know, we're we're so lucky to have a chef like Mark Vettry, who who has these very small restaurants, anybody who knows him has these small restaurants in Philadelphia that have months of waiting time to get in.
- 20:39SPEAKER_03: We were able to bring that and not only to Las Vegas, to the Summerlin community and to the Las Vegas community as a whole, where you can come get this world-class dining experience without having to go to the strip, without having to worry about parking, without having to do any of that.
- 20:51SPEAKER_03: That's what we offer here at Stations.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: As Vegas is opening up, and it is opened up now, people are coming into town more and more often.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: Anything that you wanted to point out?
- 21:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah, one thing one thing I really want to point out is it's a true resort feeling.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: No matter which property you go to, you really do feel like it's a destination resort.
- 21:09SPEAKER_03: Um, not something you get a lot of in Las Vegas.
- 21:11SPEAKER_03: Um, as awesome and amazing as the casinos on the strip are, when you come to our properties, you really feel like the whole hotel is yours.
- 21:18SPEAKER_03: And that's an experience that I want everybody to just come and try one time because you know, the second you try, you're never going to want to go anywhere.
- 21:25SPEAKER_03: I mean, to sit at the Red Rock Pool on one of our beautiful days, and then from there to have dinner at at T-Bones at night, and then to stay in one of our amazing suites, that's an all-around experience that you'll only be able to get at one of our properties.
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Love it.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, T-Bones is great.
- 21:39Sean McAllister: T-Bones, I mean, uh all the restaurants are are phenomenal.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: I know.
- 21:43Sean McAllister: I I Green Valley has had been my home for 15 years.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: So Green Valley Ranch was my neighborhood casino.
- 21:51Sean McAllister: So I I always loved going over there and you know, experiencing the staff.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: And and like you were saying, Joe, your team members really do bring.
- 22:00Sean McAllister: That sense of family and everybody is always so happy.
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: You know, going to G VR, you build a relationship with someone, whether it's your favorite bartender or that awesome bellman that's there at the door, or even the cocktail waitress while you're gambling your wheel of fortune to bring you your favorite cocktail.
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: It's just something that I can't explain until you experience it for yourself here at one of our properties.
- 22:19Sean McAllister: Or in my case, the staff at the bingo room.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:22unknown: Yeah.
- 22:23SPEAKER_03: Speaking of bingo, you know, we have so many bingo specials for the 45th anniversary.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: I know at Palace on um July 3rd, we are gonna have the$15,000 games running throughout.
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Um, and then throughout the whole month, if you if you were to get a bingo on N45 to pay tribute to that, you you have a chance to win uh$1,976 to pay tribute to the year that we started.
- 22:44SPEAKER_03: Just so many specials throughout.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: We love chatting with you, Joe.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: Listen, thanks so much for taking the time and happy 45th.
- 22:50SPEAKER_03: No, and thanks for having me on your show.
- 22:52Sean McAllister: And thank you for everything you guys do for us.
- 22:54Sean McAllister: We really appreciate you.
- 22:55Sean McAllister: Oh, Dana, I think I'm gonna need to go to the bingo room tonight.
- 22:58Dayna Roselli: You love your bingo.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: I love bingo.
- 23:00Dayna Roselli: And I love bingo too, but I like traditional bingo.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: I know.
- 23:03Sean McAllister: You do the paper and the daubers, I do the electronic bingo where I don't need it, where the machine does all the work for me.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: It's over my head.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, great stuff over there at Station Casinos.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: Check out some of the properties if you're ever visiting us in town.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: And of course, if you're a local listening, you already know.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: You've got your place.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: We all know that.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: All right.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: So should we get into the the big resorts world VIP party celebration, Dana?
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: Yes, let's do it.
- 23:28Dayna Roselli: Because we talked last week about we went inside before it opened, we did some great interviews and and our take on the property, but we said then we were gonna go to the party and we would talk about it this week.
- 23:38Dayna Roselli: So they had a uh opening of the doors at 11 p.m.
- 23:42Dayna Roselli: for the public.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: But before that, at seven o'clock, they had a VIP party that I don't know how Sean and I got invited to this.
- 23:49Dayna Roselli: Uh, but we got invited and um gosh, it was a blast.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: There was, you know, first of all, familiar faces, VIPs, the best of the best in town were there, and there was food and drink and music, and it was fun to see all those locations that we had actually grabbed video of and saw before the doors opened that were empty, see them full.
- 24:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, it really was.
- 24:13Sean McAllister: And when we say full, like it was wall-to-wall people inside of Resorts World.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: And you could tell that everyone was just loving this new property on the Las Vegas Strip.
- 24:26Sean McAllister: Uh, and not only were there, you know, familiar faces from the media and you know, dignitaries around town, there were some like big time celebrities there, Dana.
- 24:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, when we went out to the pool for the the pool party portion of it, it was beautiful out there.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: And then all of a sudden, you know, they're kicking off these fireworks with well, Katy Perry wasn't there, but they like broadcast her on the side of Resorts World and she did the countdown.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: And then Paris Hilton DJ'd.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: And you know, say what you will about Paris.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: I'm a fan, and I know everyone kind of laughs, but you know, there are a lot of people that I know that feel the same.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: Paris reinvents herself and keeps herself relevant every year.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: And and even if she goes down for a minute and stumbles, she picks herself back up.
- 25:09Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, just Paris being up there in the DJ booth out at the pool, people were digging it.
- 25:14Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: The energy.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: People were loving it.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: Her mom, Kathy Hilton, was up there in the DJ booth with her.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: She kept tapping Paris on the shoulder to turn around and take selfies and have little chats.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Nikki was there too.
- 25:28Sean McAllister: Nicky Hilton was there too.
- 25:30Sean McAllister: Um back inside, before we went out to the pool, um, we were hanging out at the food hall at Resorts World, which is set up in just the coolest way.
- 25:40Sean McAllister: It kind of looks like an Asian street market, kind of.
- 25:44Sean McAllister: And we looked over and we were like, wait a second, that's Steve Aoki.
- 25:47Sean McAllister: Exactly over there.
- 25:48Sean McAllister: Just like hanging out at a table.
- 25:51Sean McAllister: Right.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was really cool.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: And he actually, him and his brother run one of the places, or it's well, I don't know if they run it.
- 25:57Dayna Roselli: They're not, you're not gonna see them back there with a chef hat, but it's their operation.
- 26:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 26:02Sean McAllister: So Steve Aoki was there.
- 26:04Sean McAllister: Uh we also saw Tiesto, another big name DJ, who is one of the resident headliners at Resorts World, who's gonna be playing uh Zook, the nightclub over there, and Ayu, the uh day club at Resorts World.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he did a set.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Is that what you call it?
- 26:21Dayna Roselli: A set.
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: A set.
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: You did a set, it was awesome.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: Loved that.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: That was really cool.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: One of the jenners were there too, pushing a tequila.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: I think Chris Jenner.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: Chris Jenner was there and uh Kendall Jenner.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: That's right, Kendall Jenner.
- 26:34Sean McAllister: And of course, they have the tie-in with the Fred Siegel store that has the Kardashian closet.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: These are items out of the literal closets of the members of the Kardashian clan.
- 26:46Sean McAllister: They have those uh items available at the Fred Siegel store.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: Also, there was Usher.
- 26:52Dayna Roselli: Usher has a residency down the street now at the Coliseum at Caesar's Palace, but he made an appearance to the party as well.
- 26:59Dayna Roselli: And then one of our celebrities here in town, Derek Stevens and his wife Nicole, they were there too.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: And we saw them at Gatsby's Cocktail Lounge.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: And then apparently, once the doors opened, they were right there at the table doing a little gambling.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, and uh in one hand, Derek Stevens won$35,000.
- 27:19Sean McAllister: Of course.
- 27:20Sean McAllister: So this was uh we had come downstairs from the pool after the fireworks and everything.
- 27:25Sean McAllister: Uh my husband Shane and I were going to gamble at some of the machines.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: All of a sudden, we just heard this eruption of cheers from the table games, and that was Derek Stevens winning his money on opening night at Resorts World.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 27:41Sean McAllister: One of the first hands that was dealt, Derek won 35 grand.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: Wow, unbelievable.
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that is a Vegas moment right there, right?
- 27:49Sean McAllister: Well, and what I loved, when we were talking with Derek and his wife Nicole over at the Gatsby Lounge, um, Derek was just saying, he was like, Man, isn't this place beautiful?
- 28:01Sean McAllister: This is just such a great addition to Las Vegas.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: And what I love about that is that Derek is another casino owner.
- 28:09Sean McAllister: You know, technically competition.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, he's got several properties.
- 28:13Sean McAllister: Right.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: The Golden Gate.
- 28:15Sean McAllister: Um so it was nice to see another casino owner cheering on another property.
- 28:22Sean McAllister: Right.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: And celebrating a casino opening, you know, here in Las Vegas.
- 28:27Dayna Roselli: Somebody asked me, are you excited to go to the event?
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: And they thought like it was going to be a lot of work for me because we do our, you know, we're our mingling, and you know, you and I obviously have the podcast and we have a business, and it's always good to be social and see everyone.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: And they feel like, well, it's a lot of work to go and do.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, no, like this is my most favorite thing to do in Las Vegas is be at a resort casino opening.
- 28:48Dayna Roselli: It's history.
- 28:49Dayna Roselli: It's history making, it's so much fun.
- 28:51Sean McAllister: It is, it's great.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: So uh we had an absolute blast.
- 28:56Sean McAllister: Um, Wally's is one of the new restaurants that came out from Los Angeles and now has uh it's a a really upscale restaurant and wine bar, and and they were passing around that bread with the brie and the truffle on it, and everyone's talking about it.
- 29:13Dayna Roselli: I see in every in one everyone's social media post, and I have some of my friends that keep texting me, like, when are we going back to Wally's?
- 29:20Dayna Roselli: And I know I think Wally's is officially open open now.
- 29:23Dayna Roselli: There were a few of the restaurants that were not gonna open for a couple days or a week or until that official July 4th opening.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: So I believe most of them are open except the steakhouse.
- 29:35Sean McAllister: The steakhouse is gonna be a little bit longer.
- 29:37Sean McAllister: Okay, and that's up on the second floor uh mezzanine area.
- 29:42Sean McAllister: Um, yeah, so that's gonna be uh a little bit longer, but really the rest of the restaurants should be uh up and running.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: We went in Dana and I actually went and had a business lunch at Marigold, which is the cafe that's right off of the casino floor, and that was great.
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 29:59Dayna Roselli: They had these buffalo Brussels sprouts there.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: Let me tell you, if you just stop in for one thing, they were nine bucks and it was I've never had Brussels sprouts with like that buffalo like sauce drizzled and blue cheese crumbles on it.
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: Never thought of that.
- 30:13Sean McAllister: It was so good.
- 30:14Dayna Roselli: It was good.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: So go check out Marigold.
- 30:17Dayna Roselli: That's right across from Dog House Saloon, which was also pumping that afternoon that we went for the lunch.
- 30:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: And I did have my extra dirty martini with lunch.
- 30:26Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 30:27Sean McAllister: It was a good martini, too.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: Okay, so let's transfer into our tips because our first tip, I know you wanted to talk about it, has to do with parking.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: I know we talk about parking a lot, but it's a big deal if you visit Las Vegas or you're a local.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: And there specifically have been a lot of questions and comments about parking at Resorts World.
- 30:48Sean McAllister: Um, I I know that I saw a lot of comments on social media of people saying that once they parked in the parking garage at Resorts World, they said, Oh, it's like a really long walk to actually get to the casino.
- 31:01Sean McAllister: And I would just say it's not a really long walk.
- 31:04Sean McAllister: I mean, when you talk about long walks in Las Vegas, everything is a long walk.
- 31:10Sean McAllister: So it's all relative.
- 31:12Sean McAllister: Uh it sits on a big piece of land, and yeah, you're gonna have to walk from the garage to get to the property.
- 31:18Sean McAllister: It's just the way it is.
- 31:19Sean McAllister: However, if you do want a shorter walk, make sure that you use the self park garage at the Hilton Hotel Tower, and you'll see those signs.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: That uh Hilton Hotel South Park Garage is off of Resorts World Drive.
- 31:36Sean McAllister: So when you're planning your drive in, make sure you use the Resorts World Drive, follow the South Park signs to the Hilton Garage, and that actually connects directly to the casino.
- 31:46Sean McAllister: You use the elevators and they drop you out right into the casino area.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: So it's a shorter walk.
- 31:51Sean McAllister: It's a shorter walk.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: It's a shorter walk for sure.
- 31:54Sean McAllister: Uh people were also making comments about uh resort parking and whether it was going to be paid or not.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: Right now, as we told you last week, uh there is not uh paid parking.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: It's free parking at Resorts World.
- 32:10Sean McAllister: However, when we were over there the other day, we did see uh the machines inside the casino by the elevator banks that were before like paying your parking ticket.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the parking parking uh kiosk.
- 32:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, the parking kiosk, they have them there.
- 32:28Sean McAllister: So it seems as though at some point in time there is going to be paid parking on property.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: So just keep that in mind.
- 32:37Sean McAllister: Right now it's free, in the future, may not be that way.
- 32:40Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 32:41Dayna Roselli: And if you want to check out Resorts World, um, you want to get the lay of the land and just see it for, you know, go soon so that you don't have to pay to park if that's something that you want to avoid.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: And, you know, I don't think they'll probably charge for parking anytime too soon.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: Maybe they'll leave it for the summer.
- 32:56Dayna Roselli: But we did see the kiosk, and you know, it was kind of the grumble as you walk by, like, oh boy.
- 33:00Dayna Roselli: But who knows what that means.
- 33:02Dayna Roselli: It could be certain garages will be paid.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: We don't know, so we don't have details on that.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: But great tip for anyone that wants to visit Resorts World.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: Here's my tip, okay, this week is a show that has kicked off at the TI, okay, Treasure Island.
- 33:16Dayna Roselli: I call it TI now.
- 33:18Sean McAllister: What kind of show is it?
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: Well, it's a male strip show.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 33:23Dayna Roselli: But we have a lot of people that come to Vegas and they want to, you know, get their adult on.
- 33:29Dayna Roselli: And, you know, the Bachelorette parties are looking for things to do.
- 33:33Dayna Roselli: Thunder from Down Under is back open at the Excalibur.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: Chip and Dales haven't returned just yet, but there's a new show.
- 33:40Sean McAllister: We have Magic Mike getting ready to reopen over at the Sahara.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: I forgot about that.
- 33:45Sean McAllister: You forgot about it.
- 33:46Sean McAllister: I know, I forgot.
- 33:47Sean McAllister: It's still slipping.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: I am slipping.
- 33:49Dayna Roselli: What's going on?
- 33:50Dayna Roselli: And I can't wait for that because it's right next door to where I live.
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: So I'll just walk over to see my magic mic.
- 33:56Dayna Roselli: But um, this new show called Uncensored International is kicking off at Treasure Island.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: And here's the description.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: Enjoy the gorgeous bodies and gyrating hips of the sultry men of the Uncensored International Show at Senior Frogs inside Treasure Island.
- 34:13Dayna Roselli: Gyrating Hips.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Gyrating Hips.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: So we'll have to go check that out at some point.
- 34:18Dayna Roselli: We did get an invite, but we're busy, so we have to move it to another date.
- 34:22Dayna Roselli: So to be continued there.

- 34:28Dayna Roselli: They're on the schedule all the way through December.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: So if you're looking for a girls' night out, boys' night out, take your mom out kind of night, go check out Uncensored.
- 34:38Sean McAllister: Because moms like gyrating hips too.
- 34:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I my mom loved Chippendales.

- 34:44Sean McAllister: Moms love them.
- 34:45Sean McAllister: Uh, but I've seen the billboards for Uncensored International, and I was wondering what it was all about.
- 34:51Sean McAllister: So I'm glad that you brought us all of this information in your tip of the week.
- 34:56Sean McAllister: That's right.

- 35:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:00Dayna Roselli: Want something for everyone.
- 35:02Sean McAllister: Variety is the spice of life, isn't it?

- 35:30Dayna Roselli: We hope you have a great week.
- 35:32Dayna Roselli: This has been a fun episode 75.
- 35:34Sean McAllister: And we'll be back here on your favorite podcasting platform next week for episode 76.
- 35:40Sean McAllister: And you know, there have been all these headlines about uh Delta having a pilot shortage.
- 35:46Sean McAllister: Should we see if our Vegas revealed cockpit crew is still there?
- 35:50Sean McAllister: Captain?
- 35:51Sean McAllister: On behalf of the flight crew, thank you for flying with us and have a pleasant day.
- 35:56SPEAKER_01: Let's go back, let's go.
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: Let's go back, baby.
