  Temptation rarely shows up wearing warning labels.

  Most of the time it looks exciting, flattering, and

  harmless. It sounds like an opportunity,

  not a threat. It feels like something you can
• 0:24
  control, not something that could control you.

  That's why Proverbs Chapter 7 is so detailed.

  God isn't being dramatic, He's being honest.
• 0:33
  He tells the story of someone who didn't plan to fall, didn't
• 0:36
  think it would go that far, and didn't see the cost until it was
• 0:39
  too late. The danger wasn't just the
• 0:41
  moment, it was the path that led there.

  In Proverbs Chapter 7, verses 4 to 5, we hear this invitation
• 0:49
  say to Wisdom, You are my sister, and call insight your
• 0:52
  intimate friend, to keep you from the forbidden woman, from
• 0:55
  the adulteress with her smooth words.

  Notice how personal that language is.

  Wisdom isn't meant to be a distant idea.

  It's meant to be close, trusted, familiar, and protective.

  When wisdom is near your heart, it speaks up before temptation
• 1:09
  pulls you in. It helps you see past smooth
• 1:12
  words and quick thrills to the consequences hiding underneath.

  Jesus gives us the anchor for guarding our hearts.

  In Matthew chapter 22 verse 37, he says you shall love the Lord
• 1:23
  your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all
• 1:26
  your mind. That kind of love changes
• 1:28
  everything. When your heart is fully focused
• 1:31
  on God, temptation loses its shine.

  When your mind is anchored in truth, lies don't sound as
• 1:37
  convincing. Loving God fully doesn't make
• 1:40
  you immune to temptation, but it makes you stronger than it.

  Here's the truth. Whatever has your heart will
• 1:45
  shape your future. If your heart is filled with
• 1:48
  desire for approval, attention, or pleasure, those things will
• 1:51
  guide your choices. But if your heart is filled with
• 1:54
  love for God, wisdom, and truth, your decisions start to reflect
• 1:58
  that love even when no one is watching.

  Guarding your heart isn't about fear.

  It's about direction. It's about protecting the future

  God is building in you. Temptation always promises more
• 2:09
  than it delivers. It offers excitement but leaves

  regret. It offers escape but creates

  bondage. God's way may require
• 2:17
  self-control, but it leads to freedom.

  When wisdom is your close friend and love for God is your deepest

  desire, you don't have to fall for every trap that looks

  appealing. You're not missing out.

  By guarding your heart, you're protecting your peace, your

  purpose, and the future God has prepared for you.

  Choose wisdom. Choose love.

  Choose the path that leads to life.

  Let's pray Heavenly Father, help me guard my heart with wisdom

  and truth when temptation tries to pull me in with smooth words
• 2:45
  and false promises. Give me clarity and strength to

  walk away. Teach me to love you with all my

  heart, soul and mind and let that love guide every choice I
• 2:53
  make. Protect my future as I choose
