- 0:15important to you is important to us.
- 0:18Let's talk. I'm your host, Magic Mike, and
- 0:22today we're diving deep into something close to my heart, how
- 0:26sharing your story and getting behind the mic can be a powerful
- 0:29form of rehabilitation. Whether you're fresh out of
- 0:32service, years into civilian life, or somewhere in between,
- 0:36We've got a space for you here because everyone has a story,
- 0:40and broadcasting is how we tell it.
- 1:02Maybe that's it. How about now?
- 1:04Mic check 1212 mic check 1212 mic check 1212 mic check 1212.
- 1:09There we go Anyways, welcome to veterans talk with yours truly,
- 1:12DJ Magic Mic and we have a great show for your day.
- 1:16One of the things that I wanted to talk about was that as we all
- 1:19both we all know rather excuse me, I'm a little under the
- 1:23weather, so you have to bear with me here.
- 1:25Excuse me, I'm on new medicine and stuff From the from the from
- 1:29the. Beautiful VA and it's just
- 1:30making me a miserable mess. But as we all know, the.
- 1:35Veterans Taking Care of Veterans Act has been shelved.
- 1:38It has been put aside and there is no, there can be no, no, no,
- 1:45no. Blaming across the board the
- 1:48Republican, the Democrat, the liberal, the right, the left,
- 1:51the sideways, whatever. Be it the American Legion did
- 1:54their due diligence. Along with everybody else and
- 1:59you know it it's it it just there was too many people
- 2:02pushing back there was one pushing back on this because of
- 2:04this reason or whatever. If you didn't watch my show last
- 2:07week, I talked about it in depth and it was actually really,
- 2:09really, really good that we were able to have a bunch of people
- 2:15really just kind of just everybody go over it and figure
- 2:18out what the heck is what the IT probably won't be voted on this
- 2:25year. I hate to say it that way, but
- 2:27there's so much in that bill that would have helped veterans
- 2:30and Gold Star families, the love lives on act along with the
- 2:35Major Richard Star act and, and everybody was so hell bent and
- 2:38focused on tinnitus and sleep apnea.
- 2:40Well, here is the truth about those two things.
- 2:42They say, well, you're taken away from future claims.
- 2:45I talked about this in the last show last week and I I won't
- 2:49beat a dead horse anymore, but. You're not taken away from
- 2:53future claims. Here's the thing, VA
- 2:55compensation disability is not a social welfare.
- 3:01It makes me so angry that these veterans who are getting out of
- 3:05today's military are so hell bent on getting 100% before they
- 3:09even get out of the out of the military.
- 3:11I'm. Going to be 100%.
- 3:12I'm 100% before I even get out of military.
- 3:15What did you do? I was a desk jockey, man.
- 3:18I've got carpal tunnel now because all the damn forms that
- 3:21I had to fill out. So the Army owes that to me.
- 3:23The Air Force owes that to me. Nobody owes you nothing.
- 3:27It is painful for me to sit here and hear that.
- 3:30Excuse me. Some good old North Carolina
- 3:34tea. I'm lying.
- 3:35This is actually Alabama tea. It's really good.
- 3:38So it's a, it's it's it's. Kind of hurtful.
- 3:42It's kind of a a redundant to sit here and say future claims
- 3:46for veterans because here's the here's the reality of it.
- 3:51That claim or those claims for tinnitus and PTSD and sleep
- 3:56apnea, etcetera, etcetera aren't going to be harder to justify.
- 4:01It's not like it once was. Here's the thing, if you look at
- 4:04the history of the VA right, the VA got.
- 4:06So much backlash and everything like that because of the wars in
- 4:11Vietnam and in Korea and in in World War 2 even and stuff like
- 4:14that. So especially for Vietnam,
- 4:17right, They didn't do enough for PTSD.
- 4:19So then they had to come up with with a plan.
- 4:21They did. And then our nation went to war.
- 4:24And it was the very the, the, the, I want to say the most
- 4:28popular war, but the, the first war that was televised, right?
- 4:31And that was Desert Storm, Desert Shield in the 19 early
- 4:331990s. And it was the. 100 and
- 4:35something day war or whatever with Norman Schwartz called
- 4:38Storman Norman and Colin Powell, right?
- 4:41And we were heroes and everything like that.
- 4:43Well, what about our veterans are coming home?
- 4:45Man, we, we salute you. We got to take care of you.
- 4:47We can't. Have it repeat like we did in
- 4:49Vietnam. So Desert Storm Desert Shield
- 4:51was not Vietnam was even close to Vietnam.
- 4:54It was an air campaign that we. Decimated the Iraqi armed forces
- 4:59even as they retreated back to their home of Iraq, down death
- 5:02alley or death highway. We we annihilated them to never
- 5:06fight again. Pretty much.
- 5:07Right? So then we all saw that.
- 5:10And then Iraq broke out, right? 2003 boom, we're in there.
- 5:13We are liberating Iraq, so we liberate Iraq from what?
- 5:19We were liberating them from Saddam Hussein, right?
- 5:22Bad person, very bad person. We liberated it from him and we
- 5:28kind of just reinvented Vietnam again.
- 5:34You see, guerrilla warfare is what Vietnam was, and that's
- 5:37what we were dealing with in Iraq was a type of guerrilla
- 5:41warfare. You see, in World Wars 2IN Korea
- 5:43and Vietnam, you know, I'm sorry, Korea in World War 2 and
- 5:46World War One and so on, those wars were fought in uniform.
- 5:50You knew that was the enemy. This was the the good people
- 5:53over here. You knew what color uniforms
- 5:55they wore or there was a lot of different things going on.
- 5:57Not always, but majority, right? And, and in Vietnam, you didn't
- 6:03know that. You didn't know who they are,
- 6:05that everybody would look the like everybody.
- 6:07You know, one minute they're sitting there waving at you and
- 6:09the next minute they had a freaking grenade in their hand,
- 6:11right? I mean, you heard about the,
- 6:13the, the babies. They would hand the GIS with a
- 6:15grenade in there and stuff like that.
- 6:16I mean, in Vietnam was just horrible and in Iraq it was the
- 6:20same thing. You know, they're sitting there
- 6:21with their squaw with their with their, you know, their, their
- 6:24dress on or whatever be it. And they got an AK47 right
- 6:27there. And you think it's just some
- 6:28lady in a black, you know, a job covered up in her face going to,
- 6:32you know, pray or something like that.
- 6:34She pulled out an AK47 and start shooting at you.
- 6:36So it was a lot of similarities there and there was really don't
- 6:39know why we are here. If they don't want us here,
- 6:41let's leave, you know, type of thing.
- 6:43And a lot of the insurgents and stuff like that, we're coming
- 6:45from Iran and had French, French documents on them, French I DS
- 6:49or French passports. But they were coming to Iran and
- 6:52then floating in from Iran into Iraq to fight for ISIS and the
- 6:56other different, excuse me, things.
- 6:59So a little bit of history there, so.
- 7:02Now we are here and we're in Iran, right?
- 7:04We don't have boots on the ground, Iran, but we still have
- 7:06casualties, as we just found out.
- 7:09We lost the lives of our service members who just came home.
- 7:12And, you know, we all who served in combat know that that that
- 7:18the military is a. Hazardous duty.
- 7:22It is a hazardous duty regardless of whether you are a
- 7:25finance officer or whatever. We got that.
- 7:27But, and here's my butt, and I know everybody hates it because
- 7:30I hate it when people say, but here's the reality of it is that
- 7:34tinnitus and back to what I was saying, tinnitus is sleep apnea
- 7:37will be judged or rated accordingly because they have
- 7:41not been changed since the 1940s.
- 7:46I'll say that again. Look it up.
- 7:47It's all on all on the Internet. I mean, you can, you can look up
- 7:51anything, any, any government document, right?
- 7:55And I talked about that last week.
- 7:56I went into numbers and what the government says and and what the
- 7:58rules are and what the law says. The stuff and laws are made by.
- 8:03Our senators, congressman's and our government, right?
- 8:06So this isn't the Internet that makes up these laws.
- 8:08This is this is this is voted on and it has not been talked
- 8:13about. the VA has not adjusted anything and nor will they
- 8:16adjust anything immediately. It's not like, oh, we're going
- 8:18to pass this bill and tomorrow tinnitus and and sleep apnea has
- 8:21gone away. It's not saying that.
- 8:23It's just saying that it has to be looked at a little bit
- 8:26deeper. Which I'm in total agreement
- 8:29for. Just like, just like what is it
- 8:33called fibromyalgia, right? There's no way to prove it or
- 8:37disapprove. I got fibromyalgia, my leg, and
- 8:39it's killing me and I believe it.
- 8:41I believe it. I believe it.
- 8:43But could you imagine that everybody in the military comes
- 8:45out and says, I got fibromyalgia or, or everybody, everybody in
- 8:50airborne school is now got C3 and C4 vertebra cracks, right?
- 8:54I mean, it's, it's, it's hard to do that and put a blanket across
- 8:58everything. But it's also hard at the same
- 9:00time to disapprove people who are generally right looking for
- 9:04it. Let's, let's take out the VA for
- 9:06a second and let's talk about just one thing.
- 9:08I just to give you an example, in the civilian world, right,
- 9:11when you can no longer work, it's called Social Security
- 9:14disability insurance, SSDI, right?
- 9:18Social Security disability insurance or whatever it, I, I
- 9:20call it insurance, but, but that's what it is, right?
- 9:23And that's until you reach the age of 65 or older, which you
- 9:26can get your full disability, right?
- 9:27Or you're, you're, I don't say full disability, but your
- 9:29disability. So there are so many people that
- 9:33applied for Social Security and get Social Security and do not
- 9:36work and get food stamps and EBT and whatever else you want to
- 9:40call it from the federal government.
- 9:41There's so many people and then they do their little side
- 9:43hustle, whether that's selling drugs or whether that's weaving
- 9:47hair or washing cars or whatever.
- 9:49That's a little side gimmick, right?
- 9:50Because everybody knows the $1800 that you get from Social
- 9:53Security because you probably never worked a day in your life,
- 9:55right? So I know a family who has
- 10:00children and each one of their children are on SSDI, Social
- 10:04Security disability insurance, right?
- 10:07So they can never work. They have some kind of a
- 10:09disability. Now all of their kids, all six
- 10:11of their kids all have the same thing.
- 10:14They have learning disability, they have tension deficit
- 10:18disorder, they have hyperactivity, They have all the
- 10:22same things, right? I, I, I don't understand how as
- 10:27veterans, we don't look at the big picture and, and try to
- 10:31figure this out. And, and it's, do you think that
- 10:34we should stop giving Social Security across the board to
- 10:37everybody? Just a question because I'll
- 10:42tell you, we, we shouldn't, right?
- 10:43Because there are people who really need Social Security and
- 10:46then there are people who just misabuse Social Security, right?
- 10:50So you have a veteran that loses both his legs in, in Iraq,
- 10:53Afghanistan, whatever be it, he goes and he gets his disability
- 10:56from the VA and then he goes and he says, Hey, I can't work.
- 10:59I'm missing both my legs and my left arm.
- 11:01Right. A triple amputee and you expect
- 11:04him to go out and work? Absolutely not really.
- 11:06Are you really do expect him to go out and work?
- 11:09I'm just asking you expect him to go out and work because
- 11:13because I have to say, it's a hard now, right?
- 11:16So this guy can't get a job or this gal can't get a job.
- 11:21They're a triple amputee. So now they apply for Social
- 11:23Security. Now they have another hoop they
- 11:25have to jump through to get Social Security.
- 11:27And now they're making about $5000 a month with four kids.
- 11:31Wife has to work, right? Who's taking care of the kids?
- 11:33Who's taking care of him, right? I mean, this is this is what I'm
- 11:37getting at. But let's spin another little,
- 11:40little scenario, if you will. A guy does 25 years in the
- 11:43United States Marine Corps, gets out, retires as a master
- 11:46Sergeant. Or I guess you guys call it
- 11:48Master Sergeant, We call it Master Sergeant Retires from
- 11:50Marine Corps as a master Sergeant.
- 11:52And then he goes out and he applies for disability through
- 11:55the VA. He gets it.
- 11:56So now he has his VA disability, his retirement, both paychecks,
- 11:59right? So now he's making about 9 grand
- 12:02a month. We'll just say 9 grand a month,
- 12:03right? That's about right.
- 12:04So he's making 9 grand a month. He's making 4600 from the VA
- 12:08disability or $4000 from the VA disability, whatever.
- 12:11And he's making another 2003, $1000 from his retirement,
- 12:16right? So whatever it is, it's like 7
- 12:19or $8000. I know my math isn't mapping,
- 12:22but here's something that's serious if that is true.
- 12:27Why would you not allow? And to top it off, he now works
- 12:31for a government contractor make 180 grand a year.
- 12:35So he's making 300 grand a year because he retired, he claimed
- 12:39his disability and now he's got a full time job.
- 12:41So this guy who is a triple amputee who can't work, you're
- 12:45going to tell him no, You got to suck it up and just deal with
- 12:47your your VA disability. It just doesn't make sense.
- 12:55So the major richest star Act is the one thing that was in that
- 12:58bill, along with the Live Lives On Act with a bunch of other
- 13:01great. Great, great bills, right?
- 13:04It was, it wasn't just one bill. It wasn't everybody focused on
- 13:07the tinnitus and the sleep apnea being taken away.
- 13:09And it's not being taken away. It's being relooked at,
- 13:11revisited, making it a little bit harder.
- 13:15And, and there's so many rumors out there and they put the, they
- 13:17put, not only did they put veterans against veterans, but
- 13:20they also put veteran organizations against veteran
- 13:22organizations. If you saw that the VFW was like
- 13:25oh. No, that doesn't get rid of this
- 13:26thing. And then the the American Legion
- 13:28was like, oh, listen, I've talked to 162 people from the
- 13:31American Legion. Every single one of them are not
- 13:36the most of them fair. Most of them are life members,
- 13:39but they're not going to go or participate in anything with the
- 13:42VFW. Listen, the VFW is a thing of
- 13:43the past. I'm telling you right now, if
- 13:46anybody from the VFW is looking at me right now, if you don't
- 13:48get your shit together, VFW will be a thing of pass because
- 13:52you're not really doing anything for the communities.
- 13:54Look at the American Legion. American Legion does things for
- 13:56the community with the Boy Scouts of America with, with,
- 13:59you know, community events and stuff like that.
- 14:01They're out there in the parades and stuff like that.
- 14:03I literally went to a function as a commander of a VFW.
- 14:06Went to a function where they literally sat there.
- 14:10And said. We would like to thank our
- 14:13American Legion for all that they do here, for the veterans
- 14:18and man, everybody looked at me like, man, they're not going to
- 14:20give you guys any kudos. I was a new commander, so I
- 14:22didn't know what was what, but it's so true.
- 14:24It is. It's so true because of the fact
- 14:26that the American Legion is always out there, always doing
- 14:29things. So I.
- 14:31Mean these guys. I mean, they, they, they didn't
- 14:34say anything bad about the, the law.
- 14:36They said, look, there's things that could be changed, but we
- 14:38think that it's a good start to it, right?
- 14:41We always come back and revisit it, but it's a good start to it.
- 14:44And this whole thing about, oh, you're taking away from future
- 14:46veteran disability. No, you're not.
- 14:49How, how, how are you taking away from future disability?
- 14:52Explain it to me. I've talked to three doctors and
- 14:54they all looked at me and shook their head and said, there's
- 14:56there's nothing that sleep apnea, tinnitus will continue to
- 14:59be. Something is just going to be
- 15:00harder to claim and which I think is right because remember
- 15:03sleep apnea and tinnitus, right? Tinnitus, nobody can hear me
- 15:06ringing in my ears, only I can. So everybody in the military is
- 15:11going to get sleep apnea and tinnitus.
- 15:13Sleep apnea alone is 50% and tinnitus is 10% each year to
- 15:17start with, maybe 30. So every single veteran getting
- 15:21out of the military is going to be 100%.
- 15:22So you're saying that even if you do four years in the
- 15:24military as a paper pusher, never leave the United States,
- 15:27you go out, shoot your weapon once a year to qualify, You
- 15:31think that person should get a disability benefit because they
- 15:33serve in the military? Me as an Iraqi veteran, I do not
- 15:37think that that that's right. That's just me, my personal
- 15:40thing. OK, so again, I know I'm beating
- 15:44this dead horse and everything like that.
- 15:45But if you're just joining us, the take care of of of a
- 15:48veterans act. The the taking care of veterans
- 15:51Act was shelved. It was put on the back murder,
- 15:54right? It was shelf put all the way
- 15:56back in the back. It probably will not be looked
- 15:57at again this year. They don't return from their
- 16:02Congress, doesn't return from their hiatus, if you will, until
- 16:04September. So the the chances of that being
- 16:08looked at this year and the major richest star act has been
- 16:10going on for years. The Love Lives On Act has been
- 16:12going on for years and stuff. That's something else I don't
- 16:14understand. You're telling a woman who just
- 16:16lost her husband to to get over it.
- 16:18Move on. But she can't because you were
- 16:21telling her she can never get remarried because she does, she
- 16:24loses her benefits. That's that's not fair either.
- 16:27So I mean, there's a lot of good stuff that was in there.
- 16:29I think it's very selfish of the VFW and every other veteran
- 16:32organization, excuse me, every other veteran organization, I
- 16:35think is very selfish of them that they sat there and they
- 16:38fought this bill over those two little issues.
- 16:41There's some really good stuff in here, but we're going to
- 16:43fight over these two issues. Why?
- 16:47Because your numbers are dwindling and you rely on those
- 16:50veterans that are coming home now to fulfill those numbers.
- 16:55Look at the statistics, man. Seriously, think about it.
- 16:59Leadership is everything. And I think the leadership right
- 17:02now that we have in some of these organizations like the
- 17:04DAVVFW and so on and so forth is lacking, is totally lacking.
- 17:09And, and I think that it would be behoove them to do an inner
- 17:13look and sit with themselves in a dark room for a little bit and
- 17:16think about this. But they won't, they won't.
- 17:19So with that being said, I have some really good news.
- 17:22So on another note. I got a phone call a couple
- 17:26couple weeks ago, or I think it was maybe a month ago or
- 17:28something like that from a friend of mine, a very dear
- 17:31friend of mine and we are trying to get him his Purple Heart.
- 17:34So the Army kind of pushed back on us with the Purple Heart
- 17:37thing and we got all the documents together.
- 17:39I printed them off. It was like $47 worth of
- 17:42documents I put together. I put together this beautiful
- 17:44thing using ChatGPT and put a letterhead on their professional
- 17:48and everything like that and sent it up to the Pentagon and
- 17:51put on there Mr. Secretary of War Pete Headset, right?
- 17:55Because that's what they're officially called now, Secretary
- 17:57of War. And I got a phone call and they
- 18:00are reviewing it and I got a little e-mail today and it was
- 18:04kind of unique. And the e-mail said something
- 18:06like this. I won't read it because of
- 18:07personal reasons, because I don't want to disclose who
- 18:10we're, you know, who this individual is because it's
- 18:11something that's. Near and dear to them, but it
- 18:13goes something like this, it says upon further.
- 18:16Review of the documentations we have.
- 18:20We have forward this to our Inspector General's office here
- 18:23at the Department of War. So that's moving in the right
- 18:29direction. So the Department of War took
- 18:31this packet because they denied us at the at the lower level of
- 18:35the army. I'll say the lower level but but
- 18:37it was some goon who never probably saw day in combat
- 18:40looked like. I can deny this, Yeah, I was
- 18:43trying to say, hey Sir, I need your signature.
- 18:48OK, here's my signature. Yeah.
- 18:49Yeah. Purple Heart.
- 18:50Yeah. Denied.
- 18:51OK, here you go. What?
- 18:52What's the reading for denial? OK, sounds good to me.
- 18:57Yeah, yeah. No, without looking at the
- 18:59evidence, without. And we, we, we, we researched
- 19:02this thing. I put it in Chat GPTI, put it in
- 19:04another AI program. I went and did the research on
- 19:07law and what the law says. And these, the Army's got it
- 19:10wrong. So thank God that Secretary Wars
- 19:13has referred it to the Inspector General's office at the
- 19:16Department Level 2. Investigate it and we can
- 19:19finally move on and get him his Purple Heart because there's no
- 19:22reason for him not to have it, right?
- 19:24The excuse they're given for his Purple Heart is absolutely
- 19:27bullshit. And you guys know I hate the
- 19:29curse on my show, but it is bullshit.
- 19:31So hopefully crossing my fingers this year before everything is
- 19:35said and done, I will hope to be in DC and witness this young man
- 19:41get his Purvar because that's where I want it pinned.
- 19:43I want the Secretary of War to pin his freaking Purple Heart on
- 19:47him. That's what I'm hoping for.
- 19:49And I will advocate for this little knucklehead until I the
- 19:51day I die. And there's other NC OS out
- 19:53there as well. They're trying to do the same
- 19:54thing. So we got your back and we love
- 19:57you. Hey, listen, it's 20 after the
- 19:59hour. You're listening to veterans
- 20:00talk on yours truly. Military broadcast radio had a
- 20:06control alt delete minute. We're going to take a quick
- 20:09break and right after the break we'll discuss some other things
- 20:11in the news. And you're back with veterans.
- 23:42Talk with yours truly, DJ Magic Mike and on the radio station
- 23:46that gives all of our vendors a voice.
- 23:48And that is military. Broadcast radio, going to my
- 23:51little comments here, Into the Weeds podcast jumped on here.
- 23:53Thank you so much for being here.
- 23:55By the way, if you're not watching Into the Weeds or Trace
- 23:57Arounds or man, there's so many good shows out there now.
- 24:01I watched one the other day that we have a military broadcast
- 24:03radio. It's called Stogies and it is
- 24:05phenomenal. So I know most of you are asking
- 24:08me, so how's she doing? So I got a comment here, so I'll
- 24:12bring her up here. Come.
- 24:13Here, come here, come here, come here.
- 24:21Up, up, up, up here. Up now.
- 24:22She ain't doing up today. She's not doing up today, but
- 24:25she's doing good. She's getting old.
- 24:27She's getting Gray just like I am in my beard.
- 24:28So she's getting a little Gray and she's a little stiff in her
- 24:31hips. But we got some joint medicine
- 24:32medicine for her and she's doing good.
- 24:34Eva's doing great. So those of you who are asking.
- 24:36Out there. See if she come up.
- 24:37Come here. Up, up, up.
- 24:40There we go. There's Eva.
- 24:41There's my Eva Beva. Let's say hi.
- 24:44Good girl. OK, there she goes.
- 24:47She said hi. All right.
- 24:49Good girl. So Eva is doing great for those
- 24:54of you who are. Asking and we have a new
- 24:56addition his name is Teddy and we'll we'll try to get him on
- 24:59the show 1 day but he's a cutie patootie too.
- 25:03So 1 white, 1 black, right? So Ebony and Ivory is what we
- 25:06call them. But back to what we were talking
- 25:10about in the show. I got a little bit of ADDADHD
- 25:12with the medicine that I'm taking.
- 25:13So I want to talk about something that's really serious
- 25:17real quick for a second and that is sunscreen right?
- 25:22So I am originally from Miami, FL.
- 25:25Those of you know I am born and raised in Miami, lived there my
- 25:29whole entire life. I have pictures of me in a crib
- 25:34wear nothing but a T-shirt and a diaper with no sunblock on.
- 25:37Blonde hair, baby blue eyed, just on the beach in Miami.
- 25:41And so somebody had told me I needed to get something looked
- 25:45at. I went and had it got looked at.
- 25:48It was almost too late. How Too late?
- 25:50OK, well I'll tell you if you see a brown spot anywhere on
- 25:55your body and it just pops up and appears.
- 25:58And I know with old age we get some.
- 25:59Brown spots and stuff like that, but I had a little brown spot up
- 26:02here on my head and. It was just a large little dark
- 26:06brown spot. Looked like a little sunspot,
- 26:07right? I didn't think nothing of it.
- 26:09Somebody told me to go get it looked at.
- 26:10And I never did. I just kind of like blew it off
- 26:12or whatever. And then next, you know, I was
- 26:14washing my hair one day and I felt a bump there and I'm like,
- 26:17what the heck is this? So I went and had it looked at
- 26:19and it was cancerous, A cancerous cell growing on my
- 26:23head because of some cancer or skin cancer.
- 26:25Sorry. So we all know the skin cancer
- 26:28comes from the sun in the UVS and all that stuff.
- 26:30And I was, I was hitting the tanning bed quite often, quite a
- 26:33bit and stuff. And you know, we can't, we can't
- 26:36blame that. We, you know, we can't blame any
- 26:38of that. So even on a cloudy day like
- 26:40today, make sure that you put sunscreen on.
- 26:43Use your sunscreen. That is really.
- 26:45Important So I have another appointment on July the 25th
- 26:50with a dermatologist and they're going to go over my whole entire
- 26:55body so. And then every three months
- 26:58thereafter, I will have to continue to come back and stuff.
- 27:00So it's very serious. Listen, you know, people think
- 27:03of skin cancer is just like a little thing and they cut it out
- 27:05and that's it. And.
- 27:06It's over and done with, but it's not.
- 27:07I've, I, I know quite a few famous people.
- 27:10My old Colonel or my old major, I should say, had it.
- 27:15And he, he had it very early on. He told me before he even told
- 27:18his wife that it was cancerous. It was just a little tiny brown
- 27:21spot on his nose he had cut out. It was like, holy crap.
- 27:24And you know, he, he was, he was a great leader man, but I
- 27:27remember him man, he, he, he would dip himself in a
- 27:30sunscreen, bathing sunscreen and it was crazy.
- 27:33So make sure you take care of each other.
- 27:35Make sure you go and get your, your, your check UPS as you
- 27:40should. Anyway, so, and that was that.
- 27:44And one more thing I wanted to talk about because it was very
- 27:47important is all the different shows that we have on MBR.
- 27:51I talked and touch base a little bit about that and I just got a
- 27:53comment. And again, my show is pretty
- 27:55much me talking. I know I got that.
- 27:58I know people want to see people coming on my show and have
- 28:00guests on my show and everything like that.
- 28:02And that's great. I personally would love to have
- 28:05a Co host. I had a couple Co hosts, I had
- 28:07some great Co hosts and I had some Co hosts that were like
- 28:11crazy and we put them back out out there.
- 28:16Crazy, crazy people, crazy people out there.
- 28:19But yeah, we had to put put them back out in the street.
- 28:22But if you're if you're looking for, you know, a starting
- 28:26podcast and you want to sit here and and be a host of my show,
- 28:29please feel free. I I'd love to have you.
- 28:30And it goes for any of my colleagues on military broadcast
- 28:33radio. It's not that I'm difficult.
- 28:36It's not that I don't have content.
- 28:39It's that due to my health and my schedule, I have to
- 28:43constantly go to the VA and go to the VA and go to the VA.
- 28:45As you guys can hear, the medicine that I'm taking right
- 28:48now makes me very raspy and constantly having to clear my
- 28:53throat, which doesn't help at all.
- 28:54It helps none. 0 zilch. So and you know, one day I won't
- 29:01be here and one day I'll need to have a legacy so somebody else
- 29:04can be better in stock. Just can't use the name Magic
- 29:07Mike. You have to think of another
- 29:08name. So I know my producer hates when
- 29:11my head is cut off, like when I get too close to the camera and
- 29:14stuff. So I'll back up a little bit and
- 29:17we'll try this a little bit better.
- 29:19Originally I came on the show today to talk about the Veterans
- 29:22taking care of Veterans Act and the Major Richard Star Act,
- 29:24right? So I see a lot of posts online
- 29:28on Facebook especially and Instagram and stuff and it says
- 29:31pet past the Major Richard Star Act as a stand alone Bill.
- 29:34That's a no brainer. That's a that's a, that's really
- 29:37a no brainer to have that as a stand alone bill.
- 29:40However, the Taking Care of Veterans Act had that in it
- 29:43along with other great bills like why, why do we need a bill
- 29:47for this and a bill for that and a bill for this and a bill for
- 29:50that? Why not just have one bill that
- 29:52has all of that in it? And that's what they did.
- 29:54And it had had a lot of good Co sponsors in it and everything
- 29:56like that. The only reason it was shot down
- 29:58was because it started putting veterans against veterans.
- 30:02And everybody was like, hey, so now I see a lot on Facebook and
- 30:05stuff of people talking about, you know, hey, we're all
- 30:07veterans, you know, at what point do we start going against
- 30:11each other and stuff, you know, and.
- 30:12And here's the thing, that's reality.
- 30:13Everybody knows that. On my show, I talk about this a
- 30:16lot. But politics were never meant
- 30:19for the military. We never cared about.
- 30:21It you know, the only thing I cared about was whether or not
- 30:26you had my back and I had yours. That's all that I cared about.
- 30:29That's I didn't care if you were gay, I didn't care if you're
- 30:31straight, I didn't care what you did behind your closed doors.
- 30:33I didn't care how many kids you had who you're married to.
- 30:36When I joined the Army, I was told that we were all the same
- 30:40color green, period, end of story green.
- 30:45So for me to hear that a veteran went.
- 30:51On and This is why I'm saying that because somebody just
- 30:53emailed me and and I looked at it.
- 30:56It asked me what I thought about this Air Force major that sat
- 30:59there in uniform on the steps of the Capitol building and was
- 31:02screaming down with this and down with that.
- 31:05I think he should be punished under the Uniform Code of
- 31:08Military Justice to the maximum extent of the UCMJ.
- 31:12And This is why has nothing to do with freedom of speech, has
- 31:15nothing to do with that. Matter of fact, the UCMJ says
- 31:18you have freedom of speech. You can talk all you want, smack
- 31:21all you want, it doesn't matter. Talk all you want, but don't do
- 31:24it while you're in uniform. That's all.
- 31:26Just don't do it while you're in uniform.
- 31:28This guy was literally in his uniform.
- 31:32So that says, hey, I'm representing the Air Force, and
- 31:34that's not what you're representing.
- 31:35You're representing yourself. We can go to protest.
- 31:38Absolutely, unless it's forbidden by your command.
- 31:42So remember, your command can make up the rules, right?
- 31:44So there's and and and. Don't tell me.
- 31:46Oh, that's horrible. No, it's not horrible.
- 31:48It's actually. The same way in civilian life.
- 31:51And what do you mean? Well, you have a city, you have
- 31:54a county, and you have a state and you have a federal, right?
- 31:57Sometimes. There's inbetweens of that.
- 31:59So the federal government sets the standard, says this is the
- 32:03way it is, this is the law. The state can then add to that
- 32:06and says, yeah, and we want to add this.
- 32:09They can't take away. And the city and the county can
- 32:11do the same thing. They can add to but they can't
- 32:13take away. So the commander can do the same
- 32:17thing. The commander consider you, you
- 32:19can get a letter from the doctor that says your plum crazy should
- 32:22be kicked out of the military. And the commander goes, Nah, I'm
- 32:24going to, I'm going to keep him. He is not responsible for you
- 32:29and he has to answer for any crazy shit that you may do 9
- 32:33times out of 10. They don't go against those
- 32:35recommendations Every once in a while, like, I don't know, maybe
- 32:38I was an option joking, bad joke, but they literally do not
- 32:43go against the doctors. But they, they can, they
- 32:47absolutely can. How many times were you in the
- 32:49military that you've seen one of your buddies or one of your,
- 32:51your partners in crime or whatever try to get a, a 24 hour
- 32:56quarters right because they weren't feeling good or because
- 32:58they drank too much the night before. 24 hour quarters and the
- 33:00Sergeant goes as I've done it before when I was in NCOI, had a
- 33:05soldier that I knew always try to get out of the field, always
- 33:08try to get out of the field, Didn't want to go to the field
- 33:10for no reason at all. He sat there, he said he had the
- 33:13flu, wasn't feeling good, it's OK, no problem.
- 33:15We took him in. He got seen by the doctor.
- 33:17Doctor says 24 hour quarters, right, Because the doctor
- 33:19doesn't care because it doesn't affect his M toe, it doesn't
- 33:21affect his readiness, it doesn't affect anything.
- 33:23So doctors like 24 hour quarters, that should help you
- 33:25out. So I went up to his room and I,
- 33:29I hear his music playing, like he's blaring his music and stuff
- 33:32like that, right? Not laying in bed.
- 33:34He blared his music. He's in civilian clothes, shorts
- 33:38in his room blaring music. And I said, what are you doing?
- 33:41He goes, oh, I got 24 hour quarters to hand me a slip.
- 33:43I said, OK, good. Get in your military uniform.
- 33:46Get in your uniform. We're going to the field.
- 33:49Oh, but Sergeant, I got, I got, I've got, I've got, I've got
- 33:51quarters 24 hours ago, Correct. And your quarters are out there
- 33:54in the field. So you're going to be in bed out
- 33:57there in the field being watched.
- 33:58And we're going to watch you. We're going to make sure you're
- 34:00taking care of, we're going to give you fluids, can give you 3
- 34:02hots and a cot and you're going to be OK.
- 34:04Oh, the look on his face. Oh, I want to go to IG.
- 34:07Went to IG, filed in the complaint with inspector
- 34:09general's office. You know, the inspector
- 34:10general's son. He's absolutely right.
- 34:12Your quarters are out there in the field.
- 34:15This is this is something that soldier wound up getting kicked
- 34:17out of the military for other things.
- 34:19But that's that's that's I mean, those are those are the things
- 34:22right And the reason I know I kind of went on tangent there,
- 34:25but what do I think about people in uniform protest?
- 34:28And I think it should be illegal just like it is in the year from
- 34:30code of military justice. The uniform code of military
- 34:32justice Article 134, which is kind of a catch all.
- 34:35Article 134 says disobey A lawful order.
- 34:38If you were given a lawful order by the president, by the lowest
- 34:42ranking Sergeant, that's still in order when you took a oath, I
- 34:47will obey the orders of those appointed over me and the
- 34:52president, United States commander in chief.
- 34:55I will obey the orders. You're disobeying an order.
- 34:57The order says clearly that you will not protest while in
- 35:00uniform. You're protesting.
- 35:03You're protesting against something that you don't like.
- 35:06Listen, I went to Iraq. I didn't like Iraq.
- 35:09I had a soldier ask me, do you think this war is, is, is, is
- 35:12correct? Do you think we're here for a
- 35:13reason? You think that we should be
- 35:14here? My opinion doesn't matter at
- 35:17that point. It doesn't.
- 35:20And I'll tell you what my answer was.
- 35:21My answer was simple. We took a oath to protect the
- 35:24Constitution of the United States.
- 35:26In that Constitution, it gives our families, neighbors, friends
- 35:32and people we don't even know the right to vote as a merit as
- 35:37Americans. It gives you the right to vote,
- 35:38to vote for who you think will be the best suited for the job
- 35:43as president of the United States and commander in chief of
- 35:44the armed forces. So it's not up to me whether I
- 35:48like the president or not. It's up to me to follow his
- 35:50orders. And I'm protecting the
- 35:51Constitution that allows my family and friends to put him in
- 35:55office. All this hogwash, Abbott.
- 35:58The elections are rigged and everything like that.
- 36:00Whatever, whatever your belief is, it doesn't matter.
- 36:02He's still a commander in chief. If I was in the Army while under
- 36:04Joe Biden, you wouldn't see me going on that old geezer, that
- 36:07son of a gun. He's sleeping.
- 36:08Look at him checking his watch as the bodies are coming off the
- 36:11plane. No, he's the commander in chief.
- 36:14Those little comments and stuff you're not entitled to anymore.
- 36:19That is your boss. And for you civilians that like
- 36:23to watch my show and don't understand this or somebody who
- 36:25was in the military for a hot minute and doesn't understand
- 36:27what I'm getting at. Wherever you work today,
- 36:30McDonald's, Burger King, police officer, firefighter, nurse,
- 36:34doctor, lawyer, I don't care if you're IT technician, go to your
- 36:38boss and tell your boss you don't like something.
- 36:41See how far that gets you. I'll get you as far as the
- 36:44unemployment line or maybe not a raise next time.
- 36:47So there's consequences. Sure, Certainly you could talk,
- 36:51talk about them, talk to their face, disapprove your your like
- 36:55of something they do. Absolutely.
- 36:57Let's see how far that gets you. It's part of life.
- 37:03So no, I think he should be held responsible for what he did.
- 37:06I think he should be. His I, I think as an officer, I
- 37:10think his status as an officer, I think his enlistment as an
- 37:14officer should be revoked immediately.
- 37:16I think he should be an E. 4 or E5 when they strip him from his
- 37:22officer rank and I think he should be other than honorable
- 37:25discharge out of the minute, not a bad conduct discharge.
- 37:27BCD is reserved for somebody that murders somebody, does
- 37:30something hideous like you know, rape or whatever craziness like
- 37:32that. I think he should get it other
- 37:34than honorable discharge though and I think he should be
- 37:36chaptered out of the military ASAP. 100% Let him get paid his
- 37:40little thing. Let him have his glory ASAP.
- 37:43Gone. See you later.
- 37:45Bye, period, end of story. I don't think he should be in
- 37:49the military because you can't follow the simple orders and you
- 37:53feel that harsh about what's going on, then your priorities
- 37:58and your oath that you took means absolutely nothing to you.
- 38:00And that's the problem that we have with today's military.
- 38:04When you raise your right hand and you say, I do solemnly swear
- 38:07to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United
- 38:09States against all enemies, foreign domestic, bear true
- 38:12faith and allegiance to the same and follow the orders of those
- 38:16appointed above me and the President of the United States
- 38:20and commander in chief. When you take that oath today,
- 38:23it's just them reciting a point. It's just them saying words.
- 38:26It's just like today when somebody says.
- 38:28I love you. Hello, I love you too.
- 38:31They're just words. The moral, the morals behind the
- 38:36taking of the oath have gone awry.
- 38:38They're they're, they're gone. That's I think the.
- 38:41Biggest problem that we have with our military today, I think
- 38:45when they they raised the right hand and like, yeah, I do.
- 38:47Solemnly swear and uphold the federal Constitution.
- 38:49Yeah. Yeah, I do.
- 38:50I do. I do.
- 38:51Yeah. Alright.
- 38:51Congratulations. Yeah.
- 38:52I can't wait to get to E5. Can't wait to get to E6.
- 38:54Can't wait to be a 07. Can't wait.
- 38:56That's what the problem is. And I think that that is in
- 39:01itself a issue with us as human race and morally.
- 39:07I will share something with you to have me today.
- 39:08I thought it was really awesome. So as most of you know, I'm in a
- 39:11big military community where I live at.
- 39:13And I saw a van and I was walking Eva this morning and I
- 39:17saw a German officer. Actually he was a Sergeant in
- 39:21the military. He had his, you know, German
- 39:23Bundeswear U1. It was really cool.
- 39:26It was really cool. And I said, I said good morning,
- 39:29which means you don't hey, good morning.
- 39:31And those of you don't know, I speak fluent German.
- 39:33And I said. He said oh, good morning.
- 39:35And I said he was smoking a cigarette and I said where are
- 39:37you from? And he said, oh, from Hanover,
- 39:39you know, had a real heavy or proper, I should say German
- 39:42accent. And I said, oh, cool.
- 39:44I said, I spent a lot of time nine years in Germany in in
- 39:47Bamberg. He goes, Oh, and I says, I was
- 39:49the the translator for our unit that had the partnership with
- 39:52English dot The Pioneers, which is the engineers.
- 39:55And he said. Oh yeah, English dot yeah, yeah,
- 39:57yeah. Well, as I'm walking, he
- 39:59standing by a van, a little minivan.
- 40:00There was a bunch of officers that are one of them was like a
- 40:02Lieutenant Colonel, I think, and in a major and stuff.
- 40:04They were all they had patches, colorful patches and stuff.
- 40:07I had the one guy had a flight suit so I I assumed that they're
- 40:10pilots and. I was laughing with him and
- 40:13joking with him and stuff and I said, well, this is what a old,
- 40:16old soldier. Looks like, and he said, well,
- 40:18he says 30 years old is now the old soldiers.
- 40:20He says it's, it's a young man's game.
- 40:22And we laughed and, and we were talking to him for a little bit
- 40:24couple seconds before they had to leave.
- 40:26And I said, I got to share a story with you when I was in
- 40:28Kosovo. I was handpicked by our, our
- 40:31then acting general, Colonel Hoffpower, who said, can you,
- 40:36can you go to the front gate? We have the four-star general
- 40:39from Germany coming down. He's in charge of the NATO
- 40:40troops and all this other stuff in Kosovo.
- 40:43And I, I, I want you to be able to translate and greet him,
- 40:45right. So, OK, so man, I have my
- 40:47uniform with sharp looking up standing there at the gate and
- 40:49everything. Here comes his entourage with a
- 40:50bulletproof Mercedes and all that stuff.
- 40:52And. I stood there, I saluted and he
- 40:54rolled out his window and I said mine here.
- 40:57He looked at me, smiled at me. He said in plain English.
- 41:01He said the only thing missing from right now you say that is a
- 41:04stiff arm salute. And I felt like an idiot because
- 41:09my hair is from the old like marsh days, right?
- 41:13Like when they say you know my hair, right, Sir, dear, Sir,
- 41:18dear Sir, right. And today they say hair, which
- 41:23is Sir and then they're rank Sir.
- 41:25So it'd be sound like hair. Get it out right.
- 41:28But his English was probably better than mine.
- 41:30And he said the only thing missing from you is a stiff arm
- 41:32salute. And he laughed.
- 41:33And he drove through the gate, and I felt like, holy crap,
- 41:35these guys laughed so hard. They laughed.
- 41:37They said, yeah, it's OK, They said when we're with Americans
- 41:41and we have to talk English. We have the same issues.
- 41:44Sometimes we say improper things.
- 41:47So I thought it was funny, it was cool.
- 41:48But I share that story with you to remind you that something
- 41:54else that I saw on TikTok that was really cool.
- 41:56And actually it was on Instagram and it was a bunch of army
- 42:02officers that were training with NATO and it was everything from
- 42:05Lithuania to Poland to Czech Republic.
- 42:10It was just, it was crazy. All these, all these officers
- 42:13and it was like they're. Best friends they're best
- 42:15friends coming up shaking each other's hands give each other
- 42:17big hugs and taps you know DAP as we call it back in the day
- 42:20and it was really cool it was really cool to see that because
- 42:23it makes me realize that even though.
- 42:27They are soldiers from different countries at one time that used
- 42:30to be at war with each other that they have so much
- 42:34similarities, right? These are the the decision
- 42:39makers when it comes to soldiers in in war and stuff like that,
- 42:43right? These are decision makers.
- 42:45And it was so neat to see them hugging and and laughing and
- 42:48joking and talking and explaining things to him and,
- 42:50and I thought it was really cool.
- 42:51And that goes a long way. And it also reminded me today,
- 42:54talk with these German soldiers that.
- 42:57The. The whole Esprit de cores isn't
- 43:04just in the middle American military.
- 43:06It goes across borders. I thought that was really,
- 43:08really cool. So we're going to take a real
- 43:09quick break. I'm going to get a little drink
- 43:11and then we'll come back and we'll wrap some stuff up and
- 43:14we'll talk about our next long, long journey, if you will.
- 43:19It's going to be pretty cool. But yeah, we, we'll, we'll.
- 46:29Dogs is that is that not a badass song?
- 46:30Listen, it's Matt Oakley and it's called you can't take the
- 46:34dogs. That's pretty good song.
- 46:37I like that you can take the six string, you can take the
- 46:39whiskey, but you can't take the dogs ain't meant to that.
- 46:41Hey, listen, we're back with Veterans song on military
- 46:44broadcast radio and I know I'm a little bit under the weather and
- 46:48somebody just text me and said, hey, what's going on with you?
- 46:50Don't sound the same for most of you.
- 46:52Know that I am going through a lot of treatment and stuff
- 46:54through the VA. And trying to get myself back
- 46:56together I guess, if you will. And it's difficult, it is
- 46:58difficult. I have my good days and my bad
- 47:00days. But nonetheless, it's, it's been
- 47:04a journey, the last I would say God.
- 47:15Five months, 10 months have been probably the most trying, most
- 47:20testing, most ridiculous of of my life.
- 47:24So it has been a lot on my plate.
- 47:28And you know, every day is different.
- 47:30You know, last night I had a a blood pressure read of 161 / 110
- 47:35and I'm like maybe I should go to the hospital so.
- 47:41I just kind of rested a little bit, took a warm bath, which is
- 47:43probably not a good thing to do or a great thing to do.
- 47:46But another important thing, check your blood pressure.
- 47:49You know, we're up in the ages and stuff like that.
- 47:51Check your blood pressure. Try to watch what you eat.
- 47:54Eat healthy. I had a salad last night.
- 47:55Man, I'm on a journey of health. Although I did have a bowl of
- 47:58cereal today, so I don't know how healthy that was, but it was
- 48:02Raisin Bran. So I guess it's kind of 5050,
- 48:04right? And it's 1%.
- 48:05Fat milk that I used, Organic lactose.
- 48:11Somebody give me a break, throw me a bone, tell me at least I'm
- 48:13doing something right. I mean, it's difficult out here
- 48:16to try to be healthy, you know, with.
- 48:17All the good stuff we have to eat.
- 48:18But the last thing that I want to talk about real quick and we
- 48:23got like 10 minutes left in the show is about the soldiers or
- 48:27the military that we lost. You know, we lost three very
- 48:33innocent and young souls, Lieutenant and NCO and and and
- 48:38so on and so forth and. It was, I know for a lot of us
- 48:42did suffer from post traumatic stress disorder.
- 48:44Or, or diagnose of PTSDI know that this war in Iraq and the
- 48:49news and everything like that and what we see on the news and
- 48:51stuff brings back a lot of memories, a lot of stirs up a
- 48:53lot of dirt and sediment in the bottom of our ocean, if you
- 48:56will. And I know it can be difficult.
- 48:59They can be difficult, you know, and, and I know if you're like
- 49:01me, I don't believe in the crisis line because I think it's
- 49:04kind of garbage. But you know, we can always be
- 49:06there for each other and, and try to buddy check, you know,
- 49:10check on your buddy every now and then.
- 49:11You know, H train is, you know, I've known him for over 20 years
- 49:16and he and I serve and I rack together and, you know, he
- 49:19checks on me and I check on him not as often as I'd like to
- 49:21because I don't like to bother him because he has a lot on his
- 49:23plate, but he's good people, right?
- 49:26So he does check on me every now and then says, Hey, how's it
- 49:29going? And I usually tell him it's
- 49:30going OK or it's going good. And he, he talks with me.
- 49:34So if you have a friend or a loved one or somebody out there,
- 49:37turn off the news. Stop watching the news, man.
- 49:40I, I used to watch the news religiously every morning when I
- 49:42woke up, every night when I went to bed and stuff.
- 49:44And I still watch every now and then, but if you turn on the
- 49:47news right now, it just seems like everything is so, so
- 49:51negative and so bad and so crazy and and the world is just an
- 49:55array. But if you look outside the
- 49:57window, there's no bombs going on.
- 49:59There's no, I mean, we got a little.
- 50:01Bit of overcast today but in Tennessee, but other than that,
- 50:04it's it's not too. Bad.
- 50:05So, you know, it's a, it's a beautiful day, It's a beautiful
- 50:09morning, It's a beautiful night. And we need to enjoy each other,
- 50:13enjoy life a little bit better. And stop watching the news, man.
- 50:18Stop watching the news. Yeah, stop watching news.
- 50:23It's a it'll, it'll change your life.
- 50:24Seriously, do something constructive.
- 50:26I started walking again, so I kind of have no choice, but
- 50:31because I live in an apartment, but I have to walk and I have a
- 50:34beautiful pool in my apartment. So I'm going to start swimming
- 50:38and start trying to get myself back into order, back into some
- 50:41kind of a routine of a healthy lifestyle, if you will, so I can
- 50:43sleep better at night so that I can live longer, hopefully,
- 50:46right? That's our all, all of our gold
- 50:48is right to get healthy and live longer and to, to be with our
- 50:51families and stuff like that. There there's something that I,
- 50:59that I, that I read and it said and I wish I had it in front of
- 51:04me, but I'll, I'll, I'll. Talk about it in the in the next
- 51:07show next week. And I promise my show sometimes
- 51:10are great and they're they're great.
- 51:11And sometimes I'm just kind of like winging it and stuff like
- 51:13that. And I apologize because again,
- 51:15during the week, and it's no excuse because during the week
- 51:17I'm so indebted with like all these.
- 51:19Appointments that I'm going to and radiation and sitting in the
- 51:21MRI and CT scan and this and that.
- 51:24No, did you go here? Did you go talk to this person?
- 51:26That person dah dah dah dah. So I literally set up.
- 51:31I literally have really cool, I guess.
- 51:34So I'm going to share with you, but those of you know me to know
- 51:37that my father served in the United States Army, served
- 51:39during Vietnam. And when my father passed away,
- 51:41I was in Iraq. So I never really my dad wanted
- 51:44to be cremated. That was his his choosing.
- 51:47So he was cremated and my mom, you know, had him in this real
- 51:50big urn. And my my mother didn't die a
- 51:56year and a half later while I was deployed and my mother was
- 51:59cremated as well. So upon conferring with my
- 52:02brothers and my sisters and stuff, we have all decided that
- 52:06we were going to intern them into a intern.
- 52:10We were going to have a burial, if you will, and have them a
- 52:14place that we all could go visit.
- 52:15So my dad was originally from Northern Kentucky.
- 52:18So we have a burial site set up. I reached out to the veteran
- 52:22organization out there, the VA at the VA Run Cemetery, the
- 52:25state-run cemetery as as you are, and it's beautiful.
- 52:29It's an absolutely beautiful cemetery.
- 52:31It's brand new. We already have the headstone
- 52:33picked out and everything like that, you know, just like
- 52:36military headstone. My mom's name will be on the
- 52:38back of it, my dad's name on the front of it.
- 52:40So it'd be really cool and really neat and we'll have a
- 52:43place that we can all meet up and people can go visit and know
- 52:47that mom and dad are there and you know their grandma and
- 52:49grandpa and you know their aunt and uncle or whatever be it.
- 52:53And I thought it was really neat.
- 52:54So kudos out to the Northern Kentucky State Veterans
- 52:59Cemetery. His name is Michael who runs it
- 53:02and his staff there are phenomenal.
- 53:03Have helped me along the way to get all the documentation.
- 53:06One of the hardest documentations that I had to get
- 53:08was the wedding certificate or the marriage certificate for my
- 53:11parents because they were married in Germany and I had to
- 53:15send out a letter and stuff. And they said, listen, the birth
- 53:17certificate or I'm sorry, the death certificate will say on
- 53:20their next of kin and it should say your mom's name on there.
- 53:23And that's good enough for us. So I thought that was really
- 53:25cool. And they waived the fee because
- 53:27normally there's a $500 fee for a spouse to be buried with a
- 53:31veteran and they waived the fee. So I thought that was really
- 53:34cool. And again, hats off to the
- 53:36Northern Kentucky state-run Veterans cemetery out there and
- 53:40Memorial Gardens. Absolutely beautiful.
- 53:43They've been with us the whole step of the way.
- 53:45So stay tuned. I'll I'll let you guys know.
- 53:47And they also said would you like military honors, which I
- 53:50thought was cool as heck. Yeah, absolutely.
- 53:53You know, so that's going to be pretty cool.
- 53:54And, and I'll let you guys know how that goes.
- 53:57Again, as promised, I promise to have more content and I promise
- 54:00to go out there and really be a sticking, you know, trying to
- 54:08think of the right words here. I just have a lot on my plate.
- 54:11You guys trust me. If I, if I, if I open up my
- 54:13book, my journal and showed you everything that I'm going
- 54:15through right now, you'd be like, why you doing a show?
- 54:18Because it's my therapy, Because even though I'm talking to
- 54:21myself, it seems like it's still therapy.
- 54:23It's my one follower right now. Thank you, whoever you are, I
- 54:26appreciate you. God bless you.
- 54:28I have literally one person viewing me right now.
- 54:31See, this goes on the Internet and people can watch me
- 54:34tomorrow. They can watch me tonight.
- 54:35They can watch me while they're in bed or if they just want to
- 54:38feel better about themselves and know that they have a great life
- 54:40and watch my misery. Sure, they can watch it later
- 54:42on. That's a joke.
- 54:43So feel free to TuneIn every single Thursday between the
- 54:50hours of four and five. Eastern Standard Time Veterans

- 55:47TikTok and he goes when you think of veteran, mean it.
- 55:49Thank you for your service. What do you do now that you're
