• 1:54
Speaker 2: The sports governor of Minnesota coming to you right after
• 1:57
Speaker 2: the Vikings come back. When tonight in Chicago, Illinois, they
• 2:02
Speaker 2: take down the Bears on Monday Night Football, Vikings one
• 2:05
Speaker 2: and oh twenty seven to twenty four over the Bears.
• 2:08
Speaker 2: And this was the ugliest game we had seen in
• 2:10
Speaker 2: the world. For about three quarters people. We were ready
• 2:14
Speaker 2: to get rid of JJ McCarthy. The Vikings were down
• 2:17
Speaker 2: twenty four to six, come back with three touchdown drives
• 2:23
Speaker 2: twenty one unanswered points in the fourth quarter. And listen,
• 2:29
Speaker 2: granted it was ugly pick six thrown by the rookie quarterback.
• 2:33
Speaker 2: And you know, I'm one that you know, I'm old school,
• 2:37
Speaker 2: I'm an older guy, different generation. I'm for these guys
• 2:39
Speaker 2: got to play in the preseason, and I think you know,
• 2:43
Speaker 2: we saw some injuries that may have alluded to that.
• 2:47
Speaker 2: But hey, the win is the win and we're gonna
• 2:50
Speaker 2: take it. We're gonna take it. JJ McCarthy finished with
• 2:53
Speaker 2: only one hundred and forty three yards but two touchdowns.
• 2:56
Speaker 2: He did throw that pick six, Like we said, JJ McCarthy.
• 3:03
Speaker 2: Jordan Mason or excuse me, Jordan Mason led the rushers
• 3:06
Speaker 2: with sixty eight yards. JJ McCarthy, big rush there at
• 3:09
Speaker 2: the end. He snuck in for a touchdown himself. Justin
• 3:13
Speaker 2: Jefferson Aaron Jones ironically both had forty four yards and
• 3:17
Speaker 2: a touchdown tonight as well. But tonight it was just
• 3:21
Speaker 2: really about just believe, man, like the old Ted Lasso
• 3:25
Speaker 2: sign said, just believe, just keep going because in the end,
• 3:29
Speaker 2: Chicago is going to find a way to do Bear things.
• 3:32
Speaker 2: Bear's gonna Bears. Caleb Williams two hundred ten yards, touchdown,
• 3:37
Speaker 2: no interception, but in the second half just really kind
• 3:39
Speaker 2: of went mia as the rest of the Bears offense did.
• 3:43
Speaker 2: Caleb Williams for Chicago finished with fifty eight yards rushing.
• 3:46
Speaker 2: DeAndre Swift had fifty three yards. DJ Moore on their
• 3:50
Speaker 2: receiving side led the way with sixty eight yards. But folks,
• 3:56
Speaker 2: Bear's gonna find a way to Bears. Like I said,
• 4:00
Speaker 2: Soda just kept plugging away, just kept plugging away, and
• 4:04
Speaker 2: finally in the fourth quarter, things started turning their way.
• 4:07
Speaker 2: And that was the thing, because you know, you look
• 4:09
Speaker 2: at it here twenty four to six, and granted it's over,
• 4:15
Speaker 2: but all of a sudden, those scores came and Chicago
• 4:20
Speaker 2: just fell apart. And I think if you're a Bears fan,
• 4:24
Speaker 2: you know you've seen it all before. I don't even
• 4:26
Speaker 2: know what to do if you're a Bears fan. I mean,
• 4:30
Speaker 2: that was just ridiculous, but it is what it is.
• 4:33
Speaker 2: I want to thank you again, Vince right here on
• 4:35
Speaker 2: the Sports Done Right podcast following up live our Minnesota
• 4:40
Speaker 2: Vikings opening Monday night victory here over Chicago twenty seven
• 4:45
Speaker 2: to twenty four, and I think what you like is again,
• 4:49
Speaker 2: this team just did not quit. And that's what you
• 4:51
Speaker 2: kind of see under koc His teams do not quit.
• 4:55
Speaker 2: We have the largest comeback ever against the Indianapolis co
• 5:00
Speaker 2: and we pull off another big time come back in
• 5:04
Speaker 2: Chicago tonight, and you know, the monsters of the Midway
• 5:08
Speaker 2: just went and you know they went hybernate, and to
• 5:10
Speaker 2: be honest with you, because these Bears just folded like
• 5:14
Speaker 2: a cheap tent and second half, I mean put up
• 5:18
Speaker 2: fourteen points, but man that you know, you got to
• 5:22
Speaker 2: find a way off your Chicago to finish these games.
• 5:24
Speaker 2: And these fans have just time and time again put
• 5:29
Speaker 2: up with this team losing games that they should win,
• 5:33
Speaker 2: and again Chicago just let another golden opportunity slide by.
• 5:38
Speaker 2: But we'll take it as Vikings fans, because our team
• 5:41
Speaker 2: stuck with it and they earned it. And I know
• 5:44
Speaker 2: there's going to be a lot I get it. There
• 5:47
Speaker 2: is going to be a lot to talk about. There's
• 5:49
Speaker 2: a lot to clean up here. Like I said, you know,
• 5:53
Speaker 2: some of these players you could tell definitely weren't playing
• 5:55
Speaker 2: in the off season, and you know, you gotta do better.
• 6:00
Speaker 2: We get that. But week one from where this game was,
• 6:05
Speaker 2: you know, about halfway through the fourth quarter, almost we
• 6:09
Speaker 2: will take this win. So great job by the Vikings
• 6:12
Speaker 2: for hanging in there, keeping going and moving it forward
• 6:16
Speaker 2: and getting to win. Because next week the Atlanta Falcons
• 6:20
Speaker 2: come to town, and even though they lost a you know,
• 6:23
Speaker 2: Mike Pinnox junior looked real good and he's going to
• 6:27
Speaker 2: present a lot of problems and Atlanta's gonna be coming
• 6:29
Speaker 2: in here to make a little statement as well. So
• 6:32
Speaker 2: good win for the Minnesota Vikings. Tonight, as we go over,
• 6:36
Speaker 2: we're going to keep it moving here. We're gonna take
• 6:38
Speaker 2: a quick break, just a quick shout out for our sponsors,
• 6:42
Speaker 2: Cultivated CBD. Folks, you hear me say it all the time.
• 6:46
Speaker 2: Whether you want a THHC option here in a marijuana
• 6:51
Speaker 2: legal state like Minnesota, or if you just want the
• 6:53
Speaker 2: CBD you want pain relief, you don't want the high,
• 6:57
Speaker 2: so to speak, Cultivated CBD got you covered. Make sure
• 7:01
Speaker 2: you check out all their fantastic products at cultivatedcbd dot com.
• 7:07
Speaker 2: And my friends over at Seventh Avenue Pizza, best frozen
• 7:10
Speaker 2: pizza in Minnesota, make sure you get you some. That's
• 7:14
Speaker 2: my little mottol because it's honestly, it's all about the
• 7:17
Speaker 2: best ingredients and that's what my friends at Seventh Avenue
• 7:19
Speaker 2: have mastered. Listen, a lot of good frozen pizza in
• 7:23
Speaker 2: the state of Minnesota, hands down, no doubt, but Seventh
• 7:27
Speaker 2: Avenue Pizza is the best because they have the best ingredients.
• 7:31
Speaker 2: And with that, let's jump over to the Gophers. Now,
• 7:34
Speaker 2: the Minnesota Golden Gophers last week what one sixty six
• 7:38
Speaker 2: Nothing did exactly what they were supposed to do and
• 7:41
Speaker 2: exactly what the fans and Gopher Nation wanted them to do.
• 7:46
Speaker 2: Put this game away early, and before I even got
• 7:49
Speaker 2: to my seats, I was upstairs buying the hot dogs
• 7:52
Speaker 2: I just walked in the stadium, got in a little
• 7:54
Speaker 2: laid from the tailgating scene and pick six right away, touchdown,
• 7:59
Speaker 2: Gophers off and running, never looked back, and that was
• 8:03
Speaker 2: good to see. I get it. It's Northwestern stayed out
• 8:06
Speaker 2: of Louisiana. You know, program hadn't won a game and
• 8:11
Speaker 2: literally three years they just won their first football game.
• 8:14
Speaker 2: And I get it. But this is what Minnesota, this
• 8:19
Speaker 2: is what your Golden Gophers needed to do. Put it
• 8:21
Speaker 2: to bed early so you can get these reserves in
• 8:24
Speaker 2: and get them some playing time. Because you know PJ.
• 8:27
Speaker 2: Fleck alluded to this in this press conference. You know,
• 8:31
Speaker 2: got these guys. You got to have deep teams to
• 8:33
Speaker 2: be able to win these these games. You know, next
• 8:36
Speaker 2: man up, players get injured, all that stuff. So that's
• 8:39
Speaker 2: why a game like that because I know, you know
• 8:42
Speaker 2: people in the media, you know so folks, So why
• 8:45
Speaker 2: did these schedule these games? And you know a lot
• 8:48
Speaker 2: of behind the scene, behind the scenes things going on
• 8:52
Speaker 2: with you know, teams canceling, you know, games getting rescheduled,
• 8:56
Speaker 2: all kinds of stuff. So I get it. But next week,
• 9:01
Speaker 2: the Cal Golden Bears and you know, the Gophers are
• 9:06
Speaker 2: heading out on the West Coast road trips, So change
• 9:09
Speaker 2: a pace for them, definitely seven thirty start on Saturday
• 9:13
Speaker 2: here in the Twin Cities, or excuse me, a nine
• 9:16
Speaker 2: to thirty start for US, seven thirty out there on
• 9:18
Speaker 2: the Bay out there in Berkeley. So great quarterback Jiron Kwee,
• 9:26
Speaker 2: And I know I'm gonna butcher the last name Saga Palute.
• 9:31
Speaker 2: We'll just call him Jiran really good quarterback. They just
• 9:36
Speaker 2: beat Texas Southern thirty five to three, and kind of
• 9:38
Speaker 2: a Gopher game for them too. You know, they're the
• 9:41
Speaker 2: better team. They gotta go out, you know, you know,
• 9:45
Speaker 2: shut this down early, try and get some reserves in.
• 9:48
Speaker 2: And now, granted wasn't sixty six nothing like Minnesota, but
• 9:51
Speaker 2: thirty five to three. However, Cal was only up eleven
• 9:55
Speaker 2: zero at halftime and then went on to kind of
• 9:58
Speaker 2: dominate the second half there as well. But a couple
• 10:02
Speaker 2: players you want to keep out an eye out for
• 10:04
Speaker 2: on the Cal Golden Bear team. Kendrick Rafael. They're big
• 10:08
Speaker 2: time running back. He had one hundred and thirty one
• 10:11
Speaker 2: yards rushing seven point three yard average. L J. Johnson
• 10:15
Speaker 2: is another guy you may see some time next week.
• 10:18
Speaker 2: On the receiving side. For the Cal Golden Bears, we
• 10:22
Speaker 2: have Jacob DeJesus and Mark Hamper along with Mason Minnie
• 10:27
Speaker 2: are the big three that you're going to keep eyes
• 10:30
Speaker 2: on for their Tron Grizel Karan Adams are a couple
• 10:34
Speaker 2: other names. But I think that this is going to
• 10:36
Speaker 2: be a competitive game and I think this is a
• 10:39
Speaker 2: good opportunity for the Golden Gophers to go on the
• 10:43
Speaker 2: road against a decent team and you know, they got
• 10:46
Speaker 2: a good shot here. Again, you just what you want
• 10:50
Speaker 2: to do on the road when you're on the road
• 10:52
Speaker 2: like this, You know, sure you want to score early,
• 10:56
Speaker 2: but yeah, you want to take that home team out
• 10:57
Speaker 2: of it. And I think the Gophers have an opportunity
• 11:00
Speaker 2: to do that against the Cale Golden Bears. Really impressed
• 11:03
Speaker 2: with the Drake Lindsay so far. Love how he's been playing.
• 11:07
Speaker 2: Big strong dude, got some legs. And oh, by the way,
• 11:12
Speaker 2: you know are Golden Gophers as well. You know, I
• 11:16
Speaker 2: think that they are really in a good spot here
• 11:19
Speaker 2: to go three and allo get ready for a revenge
• 11:23
Speaker 2: game against Rutgers of all teams. As we know, the
• 11:27
Speaker 2: kaith in or excuse of kaith and the eighth and
• 11:29
Speaker 2: calliac Mannus story. So yeah, we definitely got to got
• 11:33
Speaker 2: to get some revenge here for last years Debaco. But yeah,
• 11:39
Speaker 2: Minnesota off to a nice start. I'm really liking what
• 11:42
Speaker 2: I'm seeing from the offense, and hopefully the defense here
• 11:46
Speaker 2: would like to see them step up get a couple
• 11:48
Speaker 2: of big time sacks here in this California game. But
• 11:52
Speaker 2: I think Minnesota pulls out a win by a touchdown
• 11:56
Speaker 2: to ten points, somewhere in that seven to ten range,
• 12:00
Speaker 2: maybe pulling away late, but I do think Minnesota gets
• 12:03
Speaker 2: to win in California this Saturday. So all right, folks, Again,
• 12:08
Speaker 2: just wanted to jump on here real quick because again
• 12:11
Speaker 2: life is in a way moving, some other things popping off,
• 12:18
Speaker 2: so just wanted to share that with you, but also
• 12:21
Speaker 2: just wanted to get a quick show out here, give
• 12:23
Speaker 2: you my takes on this fantastic Viking come from behind
• 12:27
Speaker 2: when ugly three quarters, no doubt, but love what we
• 12:30
Speaker 2: saw on the fourth quarter and that's hopefully what Minnesota
• 12:34
Speaker 2: can build off of. So with that being said, I
• 12:37
Speaker 2: am vince right the sports governor. Take it easy. We'll
• 12:40
Speaker 2: be back next week and we will talk to you soon.
• 12:46
Speaker 2: You can get your sports scattered smothered or covered. But
• 12:50
Speaker 2: why would you when you can get your sports done
• 12:53
  Speaker 2: right
