Speaker 1: but seven on the roster, so slowly but surely getting

Speaker 2: Well, you know, today's April eighteenth, and I believe that

Speaker 2: Darren Devreese was hired on March eighteenth, so it's only

Speaker 2: been one month on the job, which I know, in

Speaker 2: internet up to the minute trends these days or times

Speaker 2: these days, it sounds like, you know, it's dog years

Speaker 2: type calculation or something, it's been a year, but it

Speaker 2: has only been a couple of weeks. And yeah, I

Speaker 2: probably going to get heavy minutes. And while there are

Speaker 2: definitely still some holes, I mean, I think the center

Speaker 2: position and the front line, I still think they need

Speaker 2: to shore that up a bit and get a rim

Speaker 2: protector and you know, somebody that can such screens and

Speaker 2: kind of do some of the dirty work around some

Speaker 2: of the shooting and passing that's going to be happening.

Speaker 2: But yeah, it's definitely crystallizing a bit, and it'll be

Speaker 2: interesting to see how they fill the rest of this

Speaker 1: scholarship players on a college basketball team. Now, the limits,

Speaker 1: the roster limits are expanding next season to fifteen. I

Speaker 1: just don't see a scenario where most college basketball teams

Speaker 1: are gonna want to have fifteen scholarship players. I think

Speaker 1: in an era of player movement to begin with, that's

Speaker 1: a rest you're kind of setting yourself up for guys

Speaker 1: getting unhappy with their minutes and wanting to leave. So,

Speaker 1: you know, I think somewhere in the range of eleven

Speaker 1: twelve players is kind of where you want to settle at.

Speaker 1: Maybe you fill in the rest of it with walk

Speaker 1: ons or guys that are coming in with the idea of, hey,

Speaker 1: we're going to develop you over the course of a

Speaker 1: couple of years. Although how realistic is that in an

Speaker 1: era where everyone wants to play and have a chance

Speaker 1: to be a part of something. So I'll be watching

Speaker 1: that in the next couple of weeks for sure. But

Speaker 1: just the other thing that that's kind of stuck out

Speaker 1: to me as people you mentioned maybe grew impatient a

Speaker 1: little bit, is this has taken what a full month

Speaker 1: now to get to seven players. Really not that long

Speaker 1: a time in the grand scheme of things, especially when

Speaker 1: you're starting with nothing but Derees when he was introduced,

Speaker 1: really talked about doing the work on the front end

Speaker 1: to kind of vet these guys to figure out who

Speaker 1: he wanted and how they would fit into the team

Speaker 1: So as it took a little bit longer, maybe than

Speaker 1: some people wanted to get these these guys in the fold,

Speaker 1: a full staff. He's got three assistant coaches, and then

Speaker 1: also just in portal recruiting, things happen so fast. Guys

Speaker 1: are making decisions so quickly that you know, you could

Speaker 1: think you have a chance with a guy, and then

Speaker 1: two days later he's off to visit somewhere and making

Speaker 1: a commitment, and things are flying at kind of warp

Speaker 1: speed here. So I don't think in the grand scheme

Speaker 1: of things, anything's behind schedule. I think overall, they're in

Speaker 1: a pretty good spot. And now that they've got the

Speaker 1: bulk of I don't want to say they have every

Speaker 1: starter that they're gonna have on the roster yet because

Speaker 1: maybe they add another guy who maybe someone starts at

Speaker 1: the five, or they bring in another high, high level player.

Speaker 1: But I think now they can maybe be a little

Speaker 1: bit more selective and go out and get you know,

Speaker 1: certain roles, certain pieces that they need to fill out

Speaker 1: the rest of the roster. So I'm curious, like you

Speaker 1: mentioned a rim protector, you mentioned just maybe someone to

Speaker 1: do some of the dirty works at screens, Like ideally,

Speaker 1: if you're looking at this roster, how does the rest

Speaker 1: of it take shape and how many more guys legitimately

Speaker 1: do you think they need that can actually get on

Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I think beyond the five spot to me,

Speaker 2: between Connorway and Enright, you could say it's just a

Speaker 2: point guard and a backup point guard. Obviously you want

Speaker 2: some other guys that can probably handle the ball and

Speaker 2: take that role on here and there if they need to.

Speaker 2: But I think you can at least see that. But uh,

Speaker 2: I think it's more going forward garden wing depth. Right,

Speaker 2: you can see Wilkerson and then you know, other than that,

Speaker 2: I think DeVries, you know, he kind of I guess

Speaker 2: he's you know, he's a stretch four. I could see

Speaker 2: some some three there for him as well, and Reed

Speaker 2: Bailey's pretty interesting type of player too. I think he

Speaker 2: also is you know, obviously has the size I think

Speaker 2: at like six', ten but he doesn't Really he's not

Speaker 2: What indiana's maybe used to from a guy that's six

Speaker 2: ten on the, roster, right AND i think the way

Speaker 2: that he, plays he's got a pretty strong assist rate

Speaker 2: for his. Size he used a ton of possessions last.

Speaker 2: Year it was the eighteenth in the country and possessions,

Speaker 2: used and you, know he was a good three point

Speaker 2: shooter at forty one point five, percent but that was

Speaker 2: on pretty limited. Attempts so, AGAIN I i'm not quite

Speaker 2: but does that mean that there's no five on the?

Speaker 2: guys got up whatever sixty seventy more threes than he.

Speaker 2: BUT i THINK i feel Like miles is the type

Speaker 2: and athleticism at multiple, positions multiple garden wings that can

Speaker 2: do multiple things with the, ball and that in The Big,

Speaker 2: ten we really haven't seen that as. Much, right it's

Speaker 2: more in this physical. Style maybe it leans on some

Speaker 2: teams a little bit more big, heavy and that you,

Speaker 2: know obviously throughout the years that hasn't always been the.

Speaker 2: CASE i think you look at Those John bline teams

Speaker 2: At michigan and even really after he was, GONE i

Speaker 2: think some of The Jowan howard teams certainly profiled differently

Speaker 2: than a lot of the Other Big ten. TEAMS i

Speaker 2: Think michigan kind of had a, run and you, know

Speaker 1: now going into a second, year ran a more modern

Speaker 1: always like to give a hard time to the officiating

Speaker 1: in The Big, ten BUT i do think the, games

Speaker 1: if you just watch leagues around the country different leagues

Speaker 1: and then you watch the. TOURNAMENT a lot of what

Speaker 1: the basketball that's played in the Actual Big ten season

Speaker 1: is completely different than what's played around the, country AND

Speaker 1: i think that's you, know we always talk about the

Speaker 1: National championship, drought and a lot of that is just you,

Speaker 1: know luck of the draw on how things play, out

Speaker 1: our play out in a sixty eight team. Tournament but

Speaker 2: kind of been Lighting Up assembly oh when they've. Come

Speaker 2: i think is just another good piece of the puzzle with.

Speaker 2: and i think defensively things are going to be. Different

Speaker 2: too there's not going to be any even a nod

Speaker 2: to any sort of nail slot rim type stuff going on.

Speaker 2: Out THERE but, i, think yeah in the way that

Speaker 2: because he's been around the college game so long and

Speaker 2: has been an assistant and sort of knows what that.

Speaker 2: ALL takes i think the attention, to detail the attention

Speaker 2: and some. Of it it's so strange to me sometimes when,

Speaker 2: this is He's the but because that wasn't, happening before

Speaker 2: and there's that comparison off the last regime that that

Speaker 2: seems like it's this, great THING and i understand why

Speaker 2: people are perceiving it that way or are happy, about
