- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya Radd, an iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two-time People's Choice Award-winning podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Hello, everybody.
- 0:16Speaker 3: We are scrubbing in.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Why'd you take my line?
- 0:19Speaker 3: I just wanted to say it with you. Just wanted
- 0:23Speaker 3: to throw you off. Whoa, she did not like that.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I like routine. Sometimes I gotta throw you off.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Because sometimes life is unpredictable.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Well, let me tell you, while we're there, some people
- 0:35Speaker 4: are saying that they missed my old little jingle.
- 0:39Speaker 2: And I just want to say, me too.
- 0:40Speaker 1: I wasn't against that.
- 0:43Speaker 3: I don't need the attitude with that because I was
- 0:45Speaker 3: never against your rub-a-dub-dub.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 0:47Speaker 4: I'm not saying that you were. But many people were.
- 0:49Speaker 4: And I got some messages of people saying they missed it.
- 0:52Speaker 4: And so it just makes me feel good.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You should bring it back.
- 0:56Speaker 2: No, I'm a people person. I'm a person of the people.
- 1:00Speaker 2: And if our scrubbers don't want it, I'm fine with this.
- 1:03Speaker 2: They don't get it.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Well, thank you for sharing.
- 1:06Speaker 4: Happy Thursday, October 15th, everybody. We will not be sharing
- 1:11Speaker 4: our thoughts on Dancing with the Stars this week. In fact,
- 1:13Speaker 4: we track this on Monday. Well, we actually prefer. We
- 1:16Speaker 4: prefer to wait until Mondays.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 5: We're so stunned by what happened.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh, what a show.
- 1:21Speaker 4: We need three more days to digest before we divulge
- 1:25Speaker 4: our thoughts.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So we will share that on Monday.
- 1:28Speaker 3: We signed an NDA. Yeah. We can't talk about anything
- 1:32Speaker 3: till Monday. Correct. But we do have Dear Banya's today.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and we had like a cute time.
- 1:41Speaker 3: What I can say is we had an amazing time.
- 1:43Speaker 2: What I can say is the same.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And the ballroom was electric. Electric. And I cannot believe
- 1:50Speaker 3: who we got to meet.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Same. But we'll save that for Monday. Because today is about.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Oh, we're going to play the Don't Say the Same
- 1:58Speaker 4: Thing Again game.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Yep, we are.
- 2:00Speaker 3: And that's genuine excitement, even though we just talked about it.
- 2:02Speaker 1: And we're going to play Tower of Music.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm very excited about Tower of Music.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's going to be great.
- 2:07Speaker 3: But please don't give her an easy one like it
- 2:09Speaker 3: starts with S.
- 2:10Speaker 4: No. Okay.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Easton and I worked this out. We feel good about it. Okay, great.
- 2:13Speaker 3: All right. My bangs haven't grown at all. Thank you
- 2:16Speaker 3: for asking.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I mean, I wouldn't think that they would grow that fast.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Are you taking your niacin?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm taking everything.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Oh, you should get rosemary oil. Is it rosemary oil?
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's okay. My hair will grow. Shall
- 2:29Speaker 3: we just get into the Dear Bonnias since we have
- 2:31Speaker 3: so much to go? You kind of look more like
- 2:33Speaker 3: your mom. Oh my God, yeah. Which I love. I
- 2:34Speaker 3: love that I look like my mom. But I want
- 2:38Speaker 3: them to grow. It's more like the maintenance is just...
- 2:42Speaker 3: And I don't even mind styling my hair. I like
- 2:43Speaker 3: doing my hair.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Whenever I consider bangs, I'm like, I can't even... get
- 2:48Speaker 4: myself to, like, do my own hair once a week.
- 2:52Speaker 3: It's still your own hair, the bangs. Right. As it is,
- 2:56Speaker 3: you mean.
- 2:56Speaker 2: But, like, the bangs, you have to do.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Like, my own hair, when I have my hair like this,
- 3:00Speaker 4: I can get away with not doing it. Whereas, like,
- 3:02Speaker 4: if I had bangs, I'd have to do them.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Which I was excited about. But I can't figure out
- 3:07Speaker 3: how to do them the way I want them to look.
- 3:11Speaker 3: It's enough of bang talk. It's enough bang talk.
- 3:13Speaker 2: We're done bang maxing, okay? Okay?
- 3:17Speaker 3: Enough bang-maxing, and we're moving on to Banya-maxing.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Dear Banya and Meeston, I got engaged this summer. We're
- 3:27Speaker 1: hoping to have most of the planning done by Thanksgiving.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Our issue is the guest list. Since it'll be a
- 3:31Speaker 1: couple more months before the dates go out, we've told
- 3:34Speaker 1: a few people what the date is. We've texted some
- 3:35Speaker 1: friends in other states. However, twice now, I've had people
- 3:38Speaker 1: basically invite themselves. They'll say, how's the planning going? Do
- 3:42Speaker 1: you have a date? Do you have a venue? And
- 3:43Speaker 1: when I say yes, they whip out their phone and say,
- 3:45Speaker 1: I'll put it in my calendar now. We've never even
- 3:48Speaker 1: hung out with these people one-on-one. I've heard it said
- 3:51Speaker 1: that if you wouldn't spend $ 100 on a person on
- 3:54Speaker 1: a night out to dinner, they should not be at
- 3:55Speaker 1: your wedding. Now, I'm scared to make friends, grow closer
- 3:59Speaker 1: to someone, or even meet friends of friends over this
- 4:01Speaker 1: next year in the fear that people will feel entitled
- 4:04Speaker 1: to an invitation. How do you navigate this? Do I
- 4:07Speaker 1: just invite this person and her husband?
- 4:09Speaker 2: No.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Do I ignore it? Do I not make any new
- 4:11Speaker 1: friends in the next year to avoid this situation? Sincerely,
- 4:14Speaker 1: a people-pleasing scrubber who doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Does it happen with this?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And it happens so much more than you realize. And
- 4:25Speaker 2: it is awkward. But like, I would always just kind
- 4:28Speaker 2: of like skirt around it. Like I would.
- 4:30Speaker 4: If somebody said something like that to me, I'd be like,
- 4:32Speaker 4: oh my gosh, I know we can't wait. And then
- 4:33Speaker 4: I will pivot or like talk to somebody else. Like
- 4:35Speaker 4: I would just try and get out of the conversation
- 4:36Speaker 4: as quickly as possible. I did not feel obligated to
- 4:39Speaker 4: invite those people. I felt nothing of the sort. And
- 4:42Speaker 4: I think like that's where you have to come from
- 4:45Speaker 4: a place of, of like, you're going to invite who
- 4:47Speaker 4: you want to invite. It is your wedding. Do not
- 4:49Speaker 4: feel pressured or guilty or anything into inviting anybody that
- 4:53Speaker 4: you don't want to be there, especially new friends.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 3: I agree. I'm nervous about the guest list thing because
- 5:01Speaker 3: I also think like just in general, I think we
- 5:04Speaker 3: want a smaller wedding. And so it's going to be
- 5:06Speaker 3: it's going to be a tight list. But I'm nervous
- 5:10Speaker 3: about being around like I have people that are in
- 5:15Speaker 3: a family who like haven't met. My thing is like
- 5:18Speaker 3: if you haven't met Haley or asked about her in
- 5:20Speaker 3: the last year. You're not coming to the wedding, respectfully.
- 5:26Speaker 2: We have that rule, too.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I think Southern, like, culture, it's very, like, you invite everybody,
- 5:31Speaker 3: you know? It's like you just invite the whole family.
- 5:33Speaker 3: And it's like, I want it to be very intentional
- 5:36Speaker 3: about who's at our wedding. And so I think it's,
- 5:40Speaker 3: you know, this person... I don't think you need to
- 5:43Speaker 3: invite them if they weren't originally on the list just
- 5:45Speaker 3: because they put it in their calendar. That was very
- 5:46Speaker 3: presumptuous of them to assume that because you told them
- 5:50Speaker 3: the date that they should put it in their calendar.
- 5:53Speaker 2: This is more a PSA to just like the general
- 5:55Speaker 2: human public.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Don't do that.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Don't do that.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Like, it's so weird to me that people do that.
- 6:00Speaker 4: But like, it happens more often than you think.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Like, people just assume.
- 6:04Speaker 4: And also, I think before you make decisions of like
- 6:07Speaker 4: where you're having your wedding, I think people just assume
- 6:09Speaker 4: that we were having it in L.A.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And so it was just like, oh, yeah, like.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Of course, like.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Really?
- 6:14Speaker 3: No. Yeah. We'll be there.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Go to Mexico. See ya.
- 6:19Speaker 3: We have to go really far. Yeah.
- 6:22Speaker 5: I may have talked about this on the podcast before,
- 6:24Speaker 5: but someone that we used to work with got married
- 6:27Speaker 5: recently and I am on her close friends on Instagram
- 6:31Speaker 5: and I did not get invited to the wedding, which
- 6:33Speaker 5: is fine. Again, you know, you can invite whoever you want.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Who is it?
- 6:40Speaker 5: I'll tell you later.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Okay.
- 6:43Speaker 5: And she was posting about the wedding on close friends.
- 6:46Speaker 5: And it was like, she said, um, by the way,
- 6:49Speaker 5: if you haven't RSVP yet and like, you're getting down
- 6:52Speaker 5: to it. Okay. And I was like, kind of wild
- 6:54Speaker 5: to post this on close friends when not everyone, something
- 6:57Speaker 5: like this, when not everyone is invited, IE me, that's
- 7:00Speaker 5: what I, that's what I said. Maybe that was rude
- 7:02Speaker 5: of me. And she said, LOL, what if this was
- 7:04Speaker 5: your invite? And I said, is it? And then she
- 7:06Speaker 5: didn't respond.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:10Speaker 5: I thought I was going to get taken off close
- 7:11Speaker 5: friends at that point. I'm still on, baby.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Whoa.
- 7:14Speaker 5: But that's wild, right? Or was I out of line?
- 7:18Speaker 2: I mean, you were a little out of line. Respectfully.
- 7:22Speaker 5: Taken.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I think there's people on my close friends list that
- 7:25Speaker 3: might not get invited. My close friends list is for...
- 7:30Speaker 3: I haven't even updated. I don't even know who's on
- 7:32Speaker 3: my close friends list right now.
- 7:33Speaker 2: It's time to update the close friends list, Rob.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I don't ever post on close friends. I only posted
- 7:36Speaker 3: on it when Hayley and I weren't public. You're like,
- 7:39Speaker 3: I post on it all the time and I'm not
- 7:41Speaker 3: on there.
- 7:42Speaker 2: No, Robby's not on my close friends.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Allison wasn't on mine for a long time.
- 7:45Speaker 2: He's like, why am I not on your close friends?
- 7:46Speaker 4: I'm like, I literally haven't touched my close friends since
- 7:49Speaker 4: we broke up.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Like, when we broke up. Like, that's why I got
- 7:52Speaker 2: a close friends when we broke up. And then.
- 7:55Speaker 4: We got back together and haven't posted on it in
- 7:56Speaker 4: like however many years.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So I'm like, why would I add you now?
- 8:00Speaker 3: Yeah. Respectfully. I might bring it back, my close friends posting.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Why?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Probably won't. I don't even post publicly that much. Yeah,
- 8:07Speaker 3: who wants that? I barely post as is. I can't
- 8:10Speaker 3: be separating them.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I'm like, if you follow me, you're my close friend.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Well do an ad on close friends no what do
- 8:17Speaker 5: you like a sponsored post on.
- 8:18Speaker 3: If y'all are my close friend go engage with.
- 8:24Speaker 2: My ad please click this link that's actually brilliant.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Some people do that and i always do i always
- 8:29Speaker 3: go every time i see it i'm like you you
- 8:31Speaker 3: got it um basically yeah um People pleaser scrubber, I
- 8:37Speaker 3: would not invite anyone who you don't feel needs to
- 8:41Speaker 3: be at your wedding. And for the general public, if
- 8:43Speaker 3: someone's getting married, just wait for the invite. And if
- 8:47Speaker 3: you don't get invited, then.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Either take it personally or just know that they had
- 8:52Speaker 3: a limit and you didn't make it.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I'm actually excited for you to do the guest list
- 8:55Speaker 4: because it does bring up, like, a lot of, like, yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 3: That's, like, my biggest hurdle that I think I'm going
- 9:02Speaker 3: to have to get over.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And, like, there were couples that we were, like.
- 9:06Speaker 4: teetering on um and we're like well like i'd be
- 9:10Speaker 4: like oh we're not like so close to them but
- 9:12Speaker 4: like i'd love to be closer with them you know
- 9:14Speaker 4: and robbie's like we're not inviting people because we'd love
- 9:17Speaker 4: to be closer this is not the weekend to get
- 9:19Speaker 4: no correct he's like no yeah No, I'm a little.
- 9:25Speaker 3: That's one of the bigger things about wedding planning. You
- 9:27Speaker 3: know what? This is kind of off subject, but I've
- 9:30Speaker 3: been on my TikTok. I always see like WLW weddings or,
- 9:35Speaker 3: you know, queer weddings. And it'll be like either elopements
- 9:39Speaker 3: and they're just beautiful photos or they're weddings. But it's
- 9:45Speaker 3: a very small crowd, you know? And obviously... What do
- 9:51Speaker 3: you call that? Attendance? Audience?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Friends and guests.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:55Speaker 3: It's a very small guest list. And I always think...
- 9:59Speaker 3: I mean, I know there's... obviously with like financial reasoning
- 10:02Speaker 3: and whatnot, it gets very expensive. So you limit like
- 10:05Speaker 3: how many people come. But I was thinking it's it's
- 10:07Speaker 3: so often like queer couples and I'm always thinking like, oh, it's.
- 10:11Speaker 3: It's probably because it's so limited who you feel safe
- 10:14Speaker 3: having at your wedding that you're choosing to spend your
- 10:18Speaker 3: life with someone and who you want to be there.
- 10:20Speaker 3: It's so specific of who's been supportive, who's shown up
- 10:25Speaker 3: for you, who checks in on you. And it made
- 10:27Speaker 3: me like, oh, it's so sad. But beautiful that you
- 10:31Speaker 3: get to choose so specifically who's there based on that.
- 10:35Speaker 3: But it was just something I noticed.
- 10:37Speaker 2: What number are you guys looking at?
- 10:40Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean, just Hailey's list alone, it
- 10:44Speaker 3: feels huge.
- 10:45Speaker 4: Really?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:46Speaker 3: She'll be like, and I wrote, I'm like, we cannot
- 10:50Speaker 3: invite people that you wrote songs with 20 years, like
- 10:53Speaker 3: 15 years ago.
- 10:53Speaker 4: No.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I'm like, love them. Grateful for them. But we got
- 10:57Speaker 3: to be, we got to tighten it up.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:00Speaker 3: But I don't know. I would think like, I loved them.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Dean and Kaylin's was like a really good amount.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I felt like 60.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But that feels small.
- 11:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 11:15Speaker 3: How many did y'all have?
- 11:16Speaker 1: We did a hundred.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Y'all had a hundred?
- 11:19Speaker 2: We had like a little over a hundred.
- 11:20Speaker 3: That was a good size too. It was spaced well.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Your space was good.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It didn't feel like too many people, right? But it
- 11:27Speaker 2: also didn't feel small. Did it feel small?
- 11:32Speaker 3: No, no.
- 11:32Speaker 5: I was just thinking about how it didn't feel small,
- 11:34Speaker 5: but it felt like, it felt like all my friends
- 11:36Speaker 5: were there.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 11:38Speaker 5: It was cool.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Like it felt intimate still.
- 11:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Like I felt like I, as a guest, knew everybody there.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 5: And I think everyone else felt the same way.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay. We have a relationship question.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:54Speaker 3: And who better to give advice on relationships than us?
- 11:58Speaker 4: Facts.
- 11:58Speaker 3: So we're going to take a break and we'll be
- 12:00Speaker 3: right back. We're back.
- 12:19Speaker 1: This is from Jasmine. Hi, Becca and Tanya. My boyfriend
- 12:23Speaker 1: and I just had our one-year anniversary. I'm 33, he's 34.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And during our trip together, the topic of his weed
- 12:29Speaker 1: use came up in a real way. He smokes. I don't.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And it's not that I'm judging him for it. It's
- 12:35Speaker 1: more that I'm trying to figure out where my own
- 12:36Speaker 1: line is and how to hold it without turning into
- 12:38Speaker 1: someone keeping score. We actually worked out a kind of
- 12:42Speaker 1: compromise together, which felt like real progress. But since then,
- 12:45Speaker 1: he went back to his hometown... And it didn't fully
- 12:47Speaker 1: stick to what we'd agreed on. It wasn't a blow up,
- 12:50Speaker 1: but it left me quite worried. Becca, I know you
- 12:53Speaker 1: smoke yourself. Rebuttal?
- 12:55Speaker 3: I don't smoke.
- 12:57Speaker 1: You chew the gummy gills.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I take edibles.
- 12:59Speaker 2: But nonetheless, you get high.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Right. Is it something you and your partner share or
- 13:04Speaker 1: navigate differently? Tanya, since you don't, I'd love your perspective.
- 13:07Speaker 1: How do you approach it when it's not your thing,
- 13:09Speaker 1: but it's part of someone else's life? How do you
- 13:11Speaker 1: two handle it when your circles or habits pull you
- 13:14Speaker 1: in different directions? I'm wondering if this is something that
- 13:16Speaker 1: could quietly become a long-term deal-breaker. This past year with
- 13:20Speaker 1: him has been amazing, though. I've never met someone like him.
- 13:22Speaker 1: He's never once wanted to avoid this topic, and he
- 13:25Speaker 1: never gets defensive.
- 13:26Speaker 2: That's huge.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I used to be so anti-weed, and I literally
- 13:32Speaker 3: was so... I mean, I was anti-everything. I was very judgmental.
- 13:36Speaker 3: And I think until I did it myself, I realized, like,
- 13:40Speaker 3: I mean... I don't know how much he's smoking, but
- 13:44Speaker 3: I don't really need weed. I'm not like dependent on weed.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I just take it as like extracurricular. It would be
- 13:52Speaker 3: like someone having a glass of wine at night. If
- 13:54Speaker 3: you do that, I would say if, but not every night.
- 13:58Speaker 3: So anyways, I don't know if I'm like in the
- 14:01Speaker 3: same situation as this, but Haley and I both do
- 14:04Speaker 3: it equally. So there's not like a you need to,
- 14:07Speaker 3: you know, limit your amount. We both do it occasionally
- 14:10Speaker 3: to decompress and, and we really just get like giggly
- 14:14Speaker 3: and eat snacks. That's really the extent of it.
- 14:16Speaker 4: I do think though that if you do have a
- 14:18Speaker 4: different like need or want for it, I do think
- 14:23Speaker 4: that will ultimately cause some sort of friction because like,
- 14:28Speaker 4: I'm not a weed, like I don't, I'm not like
- 14:30Speaker 4: drug early and I don't really like weed. I think
- 14:33Speaker 4: I've like maybe tried like a piece of an edible
- 14:35Speaker 4: once in my life.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Like it's not my thing.
- 14:39Speaker 4: And I don't, Robbie wasn't necessarily anti, but I think
- 14:43Speaker 4: because he was dating, like he dates me, like he
- 14:46Speaker 4: doesn't really, we just don't, it's not like a thing
- 14:48Speaker 4: that we do together. And so we drink together. Let's
- 14:51Speaker 4: say like that was, that's like our thing. We would
- 14:53Speaker 4: drink kind of like the same, you know, we went out,
- 14:55Speaker 4: we would drink a martini. Ever since I've been trying
- 14:59Speaker 4: to conceive, I've cut back on my drinking significantly. And
- 15:02Speaker 4: so has he. And so it's like we kind of
- 15:04Speaker 4: do stuff in tandem. And I think that that works
- 15:07Speaker 4: in a relationship. But I think like and not that
- 15:09Speaker 4: I'm sitting here telling him that you can't drink like
- 15:11Speaker 4: he will. It's not like he I barely drink and
- 15:14Speaker 4: he'll maybe have like a drink a month or, you know,
- 15:16Speaker 4: it's like it's very rare, but he still drinks. All
- 15:19Speaker 4: I'm saying is I think that there would be some
- 15:21Speaker 4: sort of tension for me personally if he was like
- 15:24Speaker 4: taking an edible every night or smoking every night. Like
- 15:27Speaker 4: I do think it would make me feel a certain
- 15:28Speaker 4: type of way.
- 15:29Speaker 3: I agree. I think if I wasn't doing anything and
- 15:33Speaker 3: my partner was, whatever the vice is, they were doing
- 15:37Speaker 3: it so often and it altered their personality. I didn't
- 15:41Speaker 3: feel like we were actually spending time together because we
- 15:44Speaker 3: were on two very different wavelengths. I think that naturally
- 15:47Speaker 3: forms kind of like a.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Friction.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:52Speaker 3: But I also think... I don't know if like Jasmine,
- 15:57Speaker 3: I don't know if you're totally sober or if you
- 16:00Speaker 3: just don't smoke weed. But I also think that makes
- 16:03Speaker 3: a difference because it would be like if he was like, hey,
- 16:05Speaker 3: I'm going to smoke and you're like, OK, I'm gonna
- 16:06Speaker 3: have a glass of wine. But I think if you're
- 16:08Speaker 3: sober and not doing anything and your partner's doing stuff,
- 16:11Speaker 3: I think that's hard.
- 16:13Speaker 4: And I mean, not to get too ahead of yourself, Jasmine,
- 16:15Speaker 4: but like when you're trying to conceive, the weed smoking's
- 16:18Speaker 4: got to go.
- 16:19Speaker 3: We know nothing about Jasmine, but good to know.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Slows down your swimmers significantly.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Mark, Easton, how do y'all feel about it? Because neither
- 16:26Speaker 3: of y'all drink or smoke that I know of, unfortunately.
- 16:31Speaker 3: For the bond.
- 16:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Easton's like, I rip a bong every night before
- 16:35Speaker 4: I go to bed.
- 16:36Speaker 5: I do. And I got some Quaaludes left over from
- 16:39Speaker 5: the 80s that I like to hit every now and then.
- 16:41Speaker 5: But no, I've never drank. I've never smoked. I've never done.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Any of that stuff.
- 16:46Speaker 5: I'm very pure.
- 16:47Speaker 1: But.
- 16:48Speaker 5: I, uh, Alison will drink a glass of wine. God,
- 16:52Speaker 5: these days it feels like every six months it's like
- 16:54Speaker 5: so infrequent. Um, and that's not because of me. Like I,
- 16:59Speaker 5: I've never said like, I don't want you to do that.
- 17:01Speaker 5: You know, that, that, that doesn't bother me at all. Um,
- 17:03Speaker 5: if she was someone who liked to party that way,
- 17:06Speaker 5: I probably wouldn't have started dating her because that's not
- 17:10Speaker 5: what I like to do. Right. Um, and, uh, it's
- 17:14Speaker 5: just funny cause like, I think before we started dating,
- 17:17Speaker 5: she would she would drink at like a party or
- 17:20Speaker 5: something or a dinner. And especially since we've been married,
- 17:23Speaker 5: like she never, ever gets anything. Like if we go
- 17:27Speaker 5: to a really nice Mexican restaurant, she got a margarita,
- 17:29Speaker 5: but like, that's it. And I just think it's just
- 17:31Speaker 5: because we're on the same kind of rhythm.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 5: But yeah, I mean, it's just about, it's just about
- 17:37Speaker 5: being in sync with the other person.
- 17:39Speaker 3: I agree.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I think that's, that's the, I think that I don't
- 17:43Speaker 1: abstain from drinking because I'm anti-alcohol. If I was, that
- 17:47Speaker 1: would be a different situation. But I just don't do
- 17:49Speaker 1: it because it's not my thing. Anybody else who wants
- 17:51Speaker 1: to do it, my wife, anybody, any of our friends,
- 17:54Speaker 1: go for it. Have fun. It's just not my thing.
- 17:56Speaker 1: So I don't care if anybody does it around me.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It doesn't bother me. I don't feel like it creates
- 18:00Speaker 1: any tension, any friction, any barrier. I don't feel that.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I've never felt that.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Maybe, Jasmine, maybe you need to ask yourself what it
- 18:08Speaker 3: is about it. Is it because it alters his personality?
- 18:11Speaker 3: Do you not like the smell of it?
- 18:12Speaker 2: Because smoking weed is very different.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Than taking an edible.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Or is it that you just feel like he's dependent
- 18:20Speaker 3: on it to either be in a good mood or,
- 18:23Speaker 3: you know, sleep, whatever.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get to the root of the why. Why
- 18:27Speaker 2: is it bothering you?
- 18:28Speaker 3: I think if it's bothering you because you feel like
- 18:31Speaker 3: he's having fun and he's more relaxed than you without you,
- 18:35Speaker 3: or if you're just like, you were taught that it
- 18:38Speaker 3: was wrong. So therefore you've carried that on. Cause I
- 18:41Speaker 3: dealt with that for a long time with alcohol and,
- 18:43Speaker 3: and weed. But I think it's more so figuring out what,
- 18:47Speaker 3: what is it that bothers you about it? Is it
- 18:49Speaker 3: like you wanting to have control over what he's doing?
- 18:52Speaker 3: You know, I think it's not kind of navigating why it,
- 18:56Speaker 3: why it bothers you.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Excellent advice. Really glad we got there.
- 18:59Speaker 3: I respect y'all's purity.
- 19:03Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Not yours. You drink. I'm talking about there.
- 19:06Speaker 2: I barely drink anymore.
- 19:08Speaker 5: I pointed my body in many other ways. So, uh,
- 19:10Speaker 5: you know, it's all balanced.
- 19:11Speaker 3: When I, for instance, I'll, I'll have a drink. Like
- 19:14Speaker 3: if we go to a restaurant or something and they
- 19:16Speaker 3: have what the cocktails look good, I'll have a drink,
- 19:18Speaker 3: but I always get a soda.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Like I, I will have three drinks. I'll have water,
- 19:23Speaker 3: a soda and a cocktail.
- 19:24Speaker 1: Wow.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Because when my food comes, like before, if we're having
- 19:28Speaker 3: appetizers and stuff, I like to sip on the alcohol,
- 19:30Speaker 3: like the cocktail. But then I like when my actual
- 19:33Speaker 3: meal comes, I want soda.
- 19:35Speaker 1: And when does the water happen?
- 19:37Speaker 3: Just like it.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Throughout.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Okay. Sipped on, yeah. Sure.
- 19:40Speaker 5: And is it always a Dr.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Pepper?
- 19:41Speaker 3: Well, not everywhere has Dr.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Pepper. That's true.
- 19:45Speaker 3: So I vary. But yeah, it's the three drink rule
- 19:49Speaker 3: for me. Three drink minimum in a different way. Okay,
- 19:54Speaker 3: we're going to take a break and then it's game time, baby!
- 19:57Speaker 1: Game time, baby!
- 20:16Speaker 2: We're back.
- 20:20Speaker 3: It's game time. It's a new game. Do we start
- 20:22Speaker 3: with the don't say the same word?
- 20:25Speaker 1: I think we end with that.
- 20:27Speaker 2: No, I want to do it first, please.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Does it get you in the spirit?
- 20:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:30Speaker 3: All right, fine.
- 20:31Speaker 1: So much for that idea.
- 20:34Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:35Speaker 1: I got 10 things here. The goal is to not
- 20:37Speaker 1: say the same thing at the same time.
- 20:40Speaker 4: Ready?
- 20:40Speaker 5: Yes.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Tanya's grinning ear to ear. Becca's ready. Here we go.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Becca is ready.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Here we go. Movie genre. Three, two, one.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Comedy.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Types of weather. Three, two, one. Brand of shoe. Three, two, one.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Naked wolf.
- 21:02Speaker 3: What'd you say?
- 21:03Speaker 2: Naked wolf.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Whoa, that's so random.
- 21:07Speaker 1: See, that's the problem with this game is you could
- 21:08Speaker 1: just say random things that don't fit together.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Look it up.
- 21:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that one's legit.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'm not gonna.
- 21:12Speaker 2: It is, right?
- 21:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Suit in a deck of cards. Three, two, one.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Diamond.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Oh.
- 21:19Speaker 3: Oh, what? I said queen.
- 21:21Speaker 2: I said queen.
- 21:22Speaker 3: What'd you say?
- 21:22Speaker 1: A suit. The suit.
- 21:24Speaker 2: That's not the character.
- 21:25Speaker 3: Oh.
- 21:25Speaker 1: So what do we do now? Do we replace that one? Yeah, replace.
- 21:28Speaker 2: You gotta throw it out because we can't do it again.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Right, okay.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Do we not, we all just lose? No. Oh.
- 21:34Speaker 2: With all due respect, Mark didn't set it up properly.
- 21:37Speaker 3: I think he did. Out of the four.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Suits in the deck, which suit should you pick?
- 21:41Speaker 1: It's not a paragraph.
- 21:46Speaker 3: Out of the four options. Okay. That's okay. Move on, Mark.
- 21:50Speaker 1: I don't know. Can we move on or do I
- 21:51Speaker 1: have to find a new category? All right. I'll think
- 21:54Speaker 1: of a new category.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Dog breeds.
- 21:59Speaker 1: We already did that one.
- 22:00Speaker 2: We did? I don't think we did that one, Mark.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Well, I can't do it now, because you'll think about it.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Easton.
- 22:05Speaker 1: All right, here we go. Back at it, although this
- 22:08Speaker 1: is already tainted.
- 22:10Speaker 2: That's not the attitude.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Utensil, three, two, one.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Spoon.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Spork.
- 22:16Speaker 5: Wow, she cracked the code.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Dairy product, three, two, one.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Cornish cheese.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Wow. Condiment, three, two, one.
- 22:28Speaker 5: Marshmallish.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Marshmallish.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Planet, three, two, one.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Jupiter.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Shape, three, two, one.
- 22:38Speaker 3: Circle. Diamond.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Direction, three, two, one.
- 22:43Speaker 3: East.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Why didn't we say northeast?
- 22:51Speaker 3: You were doing the niche ones. I was needing you
- 22:54Speaker 3: to go. Shoot.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Southwest. Anything but the war. That's my strategy. Like don't
- 23:00Speaker 2: do the basic ones.
- 23:02Speaker 1: All right. Here's how the tower of music works. They
- 23:04Speaker 1: will each have a category that bands would fit into.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Like artists that begin with letter S. Artists from Russia,
- 23:12Speaker 1: whatever it is.
- 23:13Speaker 3: Oh my God, Russia.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Could be obscure. You never know.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Do not give us that one.
- 23:17Speaker 1: So they guess back and forth bands. Once they have
- 23:20Speaker 1: four correct, they can guess the category. Whoever gets the
- 23:23Speaker 1: category first wins.
- 23:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 23:25Speaker 1: They each have their category. And the way that you
- 23:27Speaker 1: play it is, can I get? For whatever reason, you say,
- 23:30Speaker 1: can I get this artist?
- 23:31Speaker 3: A celebrity name.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 23:33Speaker 1: And one more clue.
- 23:34Speaker 2: Wait, I didn't get a celebrity.
- 23:35Speaker 3: No.
- 23:36Speaker 1: That's the category. You're going to guess the category. So
- 23:38Speaker 1: one more thing. Make sure you don't just focus on
- 23:40Speaker 1: one type of artist. You want as broad, old, new, middle,
- 23:45Speaker 1: different genres. Make sure you go wide with it. Okay.
- 23:47Speaker 1: It'll be more fun.
- 23:48Speaker 5: Okay.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Here we go. Why don't you go first, Becca? Because
- 23:53Speaker 1: Tanya doesn't seem to know how this goes. Okay.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Can I get Miley Cyrus?
- 24:01Speaker 4: Yes.
- 24:03Speaker 2: You can get Miley Cyrus.
- 24:04Speaker 1: She can?
- 24:05Speaker 3: No.
- 24:06Speaker 2: She can?
- 24:08Speaker 3: I can see through that.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Oh, you saw it?
- 24:10Speaker 3: I didn't see it, but I'm just saying I can
- 24:11Speaker 3: see whatever the writing is.
- 24:16Speaker 1: No, she can't.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Oh, you can't.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I can't have, okay. No. Okay. Yikes. This could be
- 24:21Speaker 3: a disaster. Yeah, this could be.
- 24:24Speaker 4: I don't want to tell you what I think because
- 24:25Speaker 4: I don't want to give it away, but, um, I'll
- 24:27Speaker 4: save that for after. Okay.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Can I get Billy Joel?
- 24:31Speaker 1: No.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Can I get Dolly Parton? Yes.
- 24:40Speaker 4: Okay.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Oh my God. Maybe Mark answer me.
- 24:43Speaker 1: I guess.
- 24:44Speaker 2: Uh, I mean, if he's struggling, okay.
- 24:57Speaker 1: All right, fine. You can have Dolly Parton.
- 24:59Speaker 2: You can have Dolly Parton.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Okay. That doesn't make me feel confident, you guys.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Maybe put a question mark next to Dolly.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Can I have Snoop Dogg? No.
- 25:11Speaker 3: Can I have Willie Nelson? No.
- 25:17Speaker 2: Can I have Ella Langley?
- 25:19Speaker 3: No. Can I have Shania Twain?
- 25:27Speaker 2: I'm going to say yes.
- 25:28Speaker 5: You're serving as her counsel.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Can I get Goo Goo Dolls?
- 25:36Speaker 3: No. Can I get Faith Hill?
- 25:41Speaker 4: Yes.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Can I get Madonna?
- 25:49Speaker 3: Yes. Can I get Ella Langley?
- 25:56Speaker 1: Nope.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Can I get Britney Spears?
- 26:01Speaker 3: No.
- 26:01Speaker 1: No?
- 26:02Speaker 2: I get one yes, and I'm like, no?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Can I get Carrie Underwood? No. No.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Can I get Black Eyed Peas?
- 26:20Speaker 3: No. Can I get Martina McBride?
- 26:28Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Yes, you can. Can I get Sarah McLachlan?
- 26:32Speaker 3: No.
- 26:33Speaker 1: So, I mean, you technically have four.
- 26:36Speaker 3: I do?
- 26:36Speaker 1: Becca, you could guess the theme if you wanted to.
- 26:39Speaker 1: I think only three really are solid.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Or you can keep playing.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 3: I'm going to get one more to fill. Dolly's got
- 26:50Speaker 3: me shooken up a little bit. Can I get Tim McGraw?
- 26:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:59Speaker 2: Yeah, you can. Can I get Charlie XCX?
- 27:03Speaker 3: No. Can I get Kenny Chesney?
- 27:07Speaker 1: No.
- 27:08Speaker 3: No.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Oh.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Ha ha. Can I get, okay, Madonna, Madonna. Can I
- 27:14Speaker 2: get Rihanna?
- 27:17Speaker 3: Yes. Mm.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 27:21Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I think you can get Kenny Chesney, by the way.
- 27:26Speaker 4: God.
- 27:27Speaker 1: But I think you're being led down a bad path.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Oh, really?
- 27:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 3: Can I get Taylor Swift?
- 27:36Speaker 1: Nope.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Can I get Adela?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Okay, I got a guess now. But you threw
- 27:43Speaker 3: me off with... I know mine! I was going to
- 27:49Speaker 3: guess pop country or 90s country.
- 27:54Speaker 2: Well, both would be wrong.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Oh. Mark? Okay, it's kind of wrong. One is more
- 27:59Speaker 1: wrong than the other.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Which one would you like to pick?
- 28:03Speaker 3: 90s? Country?
- 28:05Speaker 2: No, that is incorrect.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:07Speaker 1: It's incorrect.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Is my theme artist with one name?
- 28:10Speaker 1: You have to get one more before you can guess.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Why?
- 28:13Speaker 1: That's the rule. You have to get four.
- 28:14Speaker 3: She got four. She did.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I got Madonna, Rihanna, and Adele.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Oh, so I have one more guess.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you got one more guess.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Okay, well, am I? Hold on, I gotta go again.
- 28:23Speaker 3: Go ahead. Prince?
- 28:27Speaker 2: Can I get Prince?
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Am I top country?
- 28:34Speaker 1: Nope.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Am I artist with one word?
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah. One name?
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yes, you are.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Wait, what was mine? Just 90s artists.
- 28:40Speaker 2: 90s artists.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Oh.
- 28:42Speaker 1: No country. The problem is, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Martina McBride,
- 28:47Speaker 1: Tim McGraw. They're all nineties artists.
- 28:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:49Speaker 1: So it kind of set you down the wrong path.
- 28:50Speaker 2: You should have said like Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Black.
- 28:52Speaker 3: I know. I couldn't. I was left on a country path.
- 28:58Speaker 3: Good job, Tanya.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Thank you. I love this game. I thought I was
- 29:05Speaker 2: screwed after Black Eyed Peas. I thought I had it.
- 29:08Speaker 3: What'd you think it was?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Um, Super Bowl?
- 29:13Speaker 2: Super Bowl.
- 29:13Speaker 1: I did consider that.
- 29:15Speaker 4: And then I thought maybe like Coachella performers, like Madonna
- 29:18Speaker 4: came out this year.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's a good game. I like that one.
- 29:21Speaker 2: It's all right. It's no Family Feud.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Okay.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Well, next week, I'll tell you what. Next week, we'll
- 29:26Speaker 1: do a special October Halloween-themed Family Feud.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Wow.
- 29:31Speaker 4: Now that's going to get people coming back next Thursday.
- 29:35Speaker 4: Let me tell you, that is gonna get the scrubbers
- 29:37Speaker 4: back next Thursday with the wet appetite what's that.
- 29:42Speaker 5: We just lost him.
- 29:43Speaker 4: I'm gonna lick that poo and get my rod ta
- 29:46Speaker 4: ta ta got me going crazy for that poo na
- 29:49Speaker 4: na na they.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Came and they went I love it I love that
- 29:51Speaker 1: you think that a wet appetite is actually wet.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Wet from saliva yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 2: I fear I'm confused now.
- 30:03Speaker 5: That H is going to sneak up on you.
- 30:05Speaker 1: It really is.
- 30:07Speaker 3: That H?
- 30:08Speaker 5: Go ahead. I don't want to mansplain you.
- 30:11Speaker 2: I don't either.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I know.
- 30:12Speaker 5: When you say wet your appetite, it's not W-E-T, it's W-H-E-T,
- 30:17Speaker 5: and it's a completely different word than the state of
- 30:19Speaker 5: being wet.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Oh, I had no idea.
- 30:22Speaker 3: It's wet.
- 30:22Speaker 2: You knew that?
- 30:24Speaker 3: No, I just stay quiet. Sometimes staying quiet is the
- 30:28Speaker 3: way to appear intelligent. Guess what, though?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Not afraid to look dumb. Because a lot of people
- 30:34Speaker 2: are out there.
- 30:36Speaker 5: It also means to sharpen a blade or a tool.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Sharpen or stimulate. Yeah, that's what it means.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Oh, I thought it.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Was because your mouth gets wet when you see something yummy.
- 30:48Speaker 5: When I see something yummy, I say I'm getting so wet.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Same.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Wow, I've been using it wrong my whole life. The
- 30:54Speaker 2: more you know.
- 30:56Speaker 3: All we are here to do is learn and teach
- 30:59Speaker 3: the others.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 2: And with that being said, we're going to end on
- 31:04Speaker 2: that note.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Not because you're embarrassed.
- 31:08Speaker 2: No, because we're wet for next week.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Wet or what? Wet. All right. Have a wonderful weekend.
- 31:18Speaker 3: We love you so much. Love you. Bye.
- 31:21Speaker 5: Bye.
