- 1:08Speaker 2: Fabulous? Lots of like family time, very wholesome vibes. So
- 1:12Speaker 2: much decluttering, Yeah, yeah, so much. I had a list
- 1:17Speaker 2: and a game plan, of course, of what I needed
- 1:20Speaker 2: to do, and I would say I did a lot
- 1:23Speaker 2: more than I thought I was going to get through.
- 1:25Speaker 2: I like feel so much lighter and like ready to
- 1:28Speaker 2: tackle the new year.
- 1:29Speaker 3: That's the best thing to do over the break. I
- 1:31Speaker 3: think the same thing. I made a notion board of a.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Twenty twenty five dep clutter and I like shared it
- 1:36Speaker 1: with my boyfriend Rob and like assigned him jobs.
- 1:39Speaker 3: That's a good idea. How was your holidays? It was good.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It was such nice weather and I ended up going
- 1:45Speaker 1: up the coast for a little bit also with my fam,
- 1:48Speaker 1: which was just so good, and I just read so
- 1:51Speaker 1: many books.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It was so fun. But yeah, it was just good.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I feel like I definitely.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Had a bit of like an off the grid holiday
- 1:59Speaker 1: which was just nice.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Yeah, much needed, Yah needed. And what's your obsession at
- 2:04Speaker 2: the moment?
- 2:05Speaker 3: Okay, my obsession? You're gonna love this?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Okay, Victorian slang that needs to come back in twenty
- 2:11Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I'm here for this.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You're gonna love this.
- 2:14Speaker 2: He he yee.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Bitch, all right, coffee sisters, what do you think that means?
- 2:22Speaker 3: Girls who drink coffee together?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Best friends? Oh cute, So we're coffee sisters.
- 2:28Speaker 3: We are in every sense of the word giggle mug.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know someone who's always giggling, So you're
- 2:38Speaker 1: a giggle mug.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, this is my favorite. Half rats, half rats. Is
- 2:48Speaker 2: that like half curly hair, you know how you like
- 2:50Speaker 2: rat your hair? Close means you're a bit drunk.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Ah yeah, so like if we're a bit tipsy, it
- 2:59Speaker 1: means we're a bit half rat feeling half rats.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I like that.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Say I love all of these.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Okay, chuck a boo, I'm not even gonna guess is
- 3:10Speaker 1: a dear friend.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Chuck a booga boo.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Chuckaboo, come here, chegababe Jacoba mccaffee, sister and my chokaboo.
- 3:21Speaker 1: She's such a giggle mug that she is half friends.
- 3:24Speaker 1: She's half rats right now. Okay, it's champagne weather.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Ooh like nice weather to sit outside and have a champagne.
- 3:33Speaker 3: No, it's pouring rain. Oh yeah, well there's nothing to
- 3:36Speaker 3: do except.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Drink, so champagne champagne showers.
- 3:41Speaker 3: You stole it from the Victorian. Oh my god, this
- 3:47Speaker 3: one's my favorite.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Not up to dick, oh like, not up to scratch,
- 3:53Speaker 1: not very well, you're bit sick which means you're not
- 3:58Speaker 1: up to dick.
- 3:58Speaker 3: Next six with it.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm obsessed with that and that's the last one.
- 4:05Speaker 1: So to summarize, we have coffee sisters aka best friends,
- 4:11Speaker 1: giggle mug aka someone who's always giggling, half rats aka
- 4:18Speaker 1: a bit drunk, chuck a boo aka a dear friend.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It's champagne weather aka it's pouring rain and not up
- 4:28Speaker 1: to dick.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Okay, not very well, Okay, what's your obsession?
- 4:32Speaker 2: My obsession is something that we have both been obsessing
- 4:35Speaker 2: over for a long long time, and I feel like
- 4:38Speaker 2: a lot of the other girllypops have been too.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And it's the color cherry red.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Because according to the Pinterest Predicts report that came out
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think at the end of last year, they have
- 4:51Speaker 2: announced that.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Cherry red is not going anywhere. It's not going anywhere.
- 4:55Speaker 3: If anything, she is.
- 4:56Speaker 2: The color of twenty twenty five and the term cherry
- 5:01Speaker 2: red vibe is up three hundred and twenty five percent
- 5:05Speaker 2: in searches on Pinterest.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Right, because it's already half my wardrobe.
- 5:09Speaker 2: I mean, look at the surroundings. Yes, chicks, we have
- 5:13Speaker 2: cherry red accents all around the studio.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm like, I'm here.
- 5:18Speaker 1: For I think red is a neutral. Red is a
- 5:21Speaker 1: neutral color. It goes with everything. Everyone looks good in red.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Do you know what was also in that Pinterest report
- 5:28Speaker 1: which we spoke about when we were going through from
- 5:31Speaker 1: Moments was Fishermen's Core.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Yes.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So it's like cable knit jumpers, overalls, like boxer shorts,
- 5:41Speaker 1: gum boots, beanies.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I'm so here for this, especially as we get into
- 5:47Speaker 2: the cooler month same.
- 5:48Speaker 3: I literally can't wait that.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I was even being like, I'm going to buy a
- 5:51Speaker 1: really nice cable knit jumper now because it's summer, so
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'll get it on sale.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And I was like, Alex, you already have someoney nit jumpers.
- 5:58Speaker 2: And I'm like, I feel like You've already got so
- 6:00Speaker 2: many things that could work into that, and so do I,
- 6:02Speaker 2: which is good.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And the other one is Castle Core.
- 6:06Speaker 2: That was my favorite that one.
- 6:07Speaker 3: I'm ready. It's like fucking fairy Castle into it.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Corsets, they're not going anywhere, They're not to go anywhere,
- 6:15Speaker 1: my eyes. But also like chain metallics, all that bar studs, yes, yes,
- 6:21Speaker 1: Joan of arc Yeah, yeah, yeah, So I'm excited for those.
- 6:25Speaker 1: But I think we'll do a whole episode about like
- 6:27Speaker 1: twenty twenty five fashion trends and like ways to upscale
- 6:32Speaker 1: your wardrobe as well that are affordable.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Not yet, don't get to it.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Don't get too excited, chicks. Okay, so we've got our
- 6:40Speaker 2: obsessions of the week out of the way, but Alijandro,
- 6:45Speaker 2: you have some very exciting news for the chicks.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Oh god. Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 1: So we have launched a second podcast and it is
- 6:56Speaker 1: called The Basic Bitch book Club, the book Club for Basic,
- 7:01Speaker 1: and it is hosted by one Head Basy Bitch and
- 7:05Speaker 1: basically it is a podcast that combines everything book talk,
- 7:10Speaker 1: from smart self help, all of the fun stuff, enemies
- 7:13Speaker 1: to lovers, trope, akatar theories, recaps, and just all the
- 7:19Speaker 1: fun stuff that I absolutely love talking about with books.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And it launched today that we're recording, so yesterday by
- 7:26Speaker 1: the time this episode comes out, and it literally hit
- 7:29Speaker 1: number one on the Arts podcast. So I shit my pants.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I literally like punch my boyfriend when I woke up,
- 7:34Speaker 3: and I was like, wait, but yeah, definitely go give
- 7:39Speaker 3: it a listen. We can put a little link in
- 7:40Speaker 3: the show notes.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Definitely, And yeah, yeah, I said smut and sex in
- 7:44Speaker 1: the first episode about seventeen times, so it.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Kind of sounds like to roache. Yeah, if you love
- 7:52Speaker 2: our episodes on books to Read in your twenties, you
- 7:55Speaker 2: will absolutely love this podcast. So definitely click the link
- 8:00Speaker 2: in the description, but also check the show follow on
- 8:03Speaker 2: Spotify or Apple podcast where you listen to your podcast
- 8:05Speaker 2: and once you've listened to a couple of episodes and
- 8:08Speaker 2: the platform will let you leave a five star rating
- 8:11Speaker 2: and review, because one to show the love. Lots of
- 8:15Speaker 2: hard work goes into making a podcast, especially a new one,
- 8:17Speaker 2: but also it really helps with getting the show on
- 8:20Speaker 2: the charts and getting it out there to other fellow
- 8:23Speaker 2: little bookie wookie chicks, boomen.
- 8:31Speaker 1: Women.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It's all right, well, very exciting, spooky of.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Course, but shall we get into l episode. Our first
- 8:43Speaker 2: cheat code of twenty twenty five is to pick a
- 8:46Speaker 2: word of the year.
- 8:47Speaker 3: I love this me too. It's for breakfast. Nummy nummy
- 8:53Speaker 3: numby no nice. What's your word of the year?
- 8:55Speaker 1: Okay, my word of the year is less less stress less, stuff, less,
- 9:03Speaker 1: clutter less, routine, less control, less of just like everything
- 9:11Speaker 1: and just like peel all my shit back and just
- 9:16Speaker 1: have the basics and the fundamentals because last year there
- 9:20Speaker 1: was just like it was such a great year, but
- 9:23Speaker 1: there was just a lot going on between you know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: launching jewelry and bikinis and the planners and writing a book.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And doing a live show and all that stuff.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yeah that I know. I thrive in chaos a little bit.
- 9:39Speaker 1: It's my brain, Like I when there's a lot going on,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm like.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yep on it got it. But bah, like I love that.
- 9:47Speaker 1: But I think with how I started feeling towards the
- 9:51Speaker 1: end of the year, I just was really really tired
- 9:55Speaker 1: and then overwhelmed because my brain was going a million
- 9:58Speaker 1: miles an hour with like multiple different things.
- 10:01Speaker 3: So this year I'm just a bit like, let's just
- 10:03Speaker 3: do a little.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Bit less nothing that like you guys will feel on
- 10:07Speaker 1: your end more, just like in terms of me that
- 10:10Speaker 1: I'm like, I just think I'm letting I'm gonna be
- 10:12Speaker 1: letting go of a lot of the control I feel
- 10:14Speaker 1: the need to have in life and just do a
- 10:17Speaker 1: little bit less. I'm still going to be the loudest
- 10:19Speaker 1: obnoxious person obviously, and in terms of even just products
- 10:24Speaker 1: and shopping and spending like less, spending less shit around
- 10:30Speaker 1: my house, less of all of that. Like I just
- 10:33Speaker 1: want you know, my ride or die in every category
- 10:38Speaker 1: of my life, in terms of people, in terms of
- 10:41Speaker 1: activities and events and spending and drinking and all that stuff,
- 10:46Speaker 1: my word is less. So like, if I'm feeling overwhelmed,
- 10:49Speaker 1: like that's the thing that I'm going to be using
- 10:51Speaker 1: to center myself being, Like, Okay, how can I bring
- 10:54Speaker 1: this to be a little bit less?
- 10:56Speaker 3: I like that. There's a reason why they say less
- 10:58Speaker 3: is more.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it's a classic what you said that, didn't you?
- 11:02Speaker 3: You invented that? Yeah, I feel like that was pretty sure.
- 11:05Speaker 1: No one else said that before you just did less
- 11:09Speaker 1: is more dash.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Sally mcmully.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Okay, my word of the year is consistency, And I
- 11:16Speaker 2: think it's in a similar vein of your word of
- 11:19Speaker 2: the year in terms of where it came from and
- 11:21Speaker 2: what inspired me to get there. Because we did have
- 11:24Speaker 2: so many amazing things happen last year. We were so
- 11:27Speaker 2: incredibly busy. I let go of a lot of really
- 11:31Speaker 2: basic sort of routines that helped me feel put together
- 11:36Speaker 2: and like a functioning adult.
- 11:38Speaker 1: And your Sunday Sunday hair mask, face mask.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Yeah, things like that, or just like logging off at
- 11:45Speaker 2: the same time every day and then having an afterwork routine,
- 11:50Speaker 2: making sure that I'm really romanticizing the shower routine and
- 11:53Speaker 2: moisturizing my whole body when I get out, flossing my
- 11:56Speaker 2: teeth every day, like things like that that are so.
- 11:58Speaker 1: Basic, but they do make you feel put together one
- 12:01Speaker 1: thousand percent.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And there was just like a list of
- 12:05Speaker 2: those things, and I'm like, oh my god, Like I
- 12:07Speaker 2: was feeling really frazzled, and I was like, all of
- 12:10Speaker 2: these things are so easy, but I feel like when
- 12:13Speaker 2: you are frazzled, that's when it's hard to get back
- 12:16Speaker 2: into it because you're like, exactly, yeah, But consistency is
- 12:20Speaker 2: what turns those habits into everyday routines for you rather
- 12:27Speaker 2: than like chores.
- 12:29Speaker 3: So that's what I'm trying to lean.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Into those everyday, really basic things and doing those consistently
- 12:35Speaker 2: so that when things do get busy or I do
- 12:37Speaker 2: feel stressed, I at least feel like I'm put together
- 12:40Speaker 2: and like have that structure in my life amongst the chaos,
- 12:45Speaker 2: but also amongst those times when things are a little
- 12:47Speaker 2: bit more relaxed.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, do you know what my favorite thing to say
- 12:50Speaker 1: to myself in those moments where I'm like, fuck, I
- 12:52Speaker 1: can't be bothered to like have a shower, or I
- 12:54Speaker 1: can't be bothered to put my clothes away from the laundry,
- 12:58Speaker 1: which is every day. The like grounding thing, which this
- 13:02Speaker 1: is not new thought to anyone, but it's like focusing
- 13:06Speaker 1: on how good it's going to feel after I do
- 13:08Speaker 1: that thing because I am. I came out of the
- 13:11Speaker 1: womb of procrastinator. I was like, I hate doing stuff.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I hate doing a task. Brushing my teeth worst job
- 13:18Speaker 1: in the world. But I'm like, how good is a
- 13:21Speaker 1: minty fresh male? I feel like that's going to be great.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Do I enjoy brushing my teeth?
- 13:25Speaker 2: No?
- 13:26Speaker 1: Okay, I'm being very brave by admitting that, big girl,
- 13:29Speaker 1: But I'm like, yeah, big deal.
- 13:31Speaker 3: But I'm like, but it feels good to have clean tape.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Yes, you know, it's like when you get into bed
- 13:37Speaker 1: and you have a shower before bed.
- 13:38Speaker 3: But sometimes, like you know, when you come home and
- 13:40Speaker 3: work and.
- 13:40Speaker 1: You're like, I don't want I don't want to wash
- 13:43Speaker 1: my hair, I wash my legs, I don't want to
- 13:45Speaker 1: put my.
- 13:45Speaker 3: Fake tan on dirt. Yeah here, but how good is
- 13:50Speaker 3: it going to feel after?
- 13:52Speaker 1: And that's like what you have to like latch onto
- 13:55Speaker 1: even with like going to the gym, Like I literally
- 13:57Speaker 1: went to the gym nearly like every day over the break,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and I'll who who am I?
- 14:01Speaker 3: Who's that new.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Fitness influencer on the block. She's coming, She's coming for
- 14:06Speaker 1: the gig Jk's.
- 14:10Speaker 3: But I was like, I do feel good after God,
- 14:12Speaker 3: damn it, cow I let us go.
- 14:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 2: No, I think that's the key. Okay, So if you
- 14:18Speaker 2: checks haven't chosen your word of the year yet, let's
- 14:22Speaker 2: talk through why it's beneficial. You know, we've spoken through
- 14:26Speaker 2: our individual ones and why they feel good. But here's
- 14:29Speaker 2: why you should choose a word of the year.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Oh and then tell us comment comment on the potty
- 14:35Speaker 1: what your word of the year is.
- 14:37Speaker 2: So the number one reason is clarity and focus. So
- 14:41Speaker 2: it simplifies that decision making, I guess, and gives you
- 14:44Speaker 2: a north star to look to when things do feel
- 14:48Speaker 2: chaotic and overwhelming, which I think is really helpful because
- 14:51Speaker 2: sometimes you can feel like, oh, but I need to
- 14:52Speaker 2: be this and I need to listen. It's easy to.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Get distracted as well, because everyone I think January eighth
- 15:00Speaker 1: is the day that nearly half of people give up
- 15:03Speaker 1: on their news resolutions or New Year's goals, right, and
- 15:07Speaker 1: it is really easy to have your life vision and
- 15:12Speaker 1: goals are just as.
- 15:14Speaker 3: You're continuing through the year, even though we're only in January.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Like, I can definitely say that some of the things
- 15:20Speaker 1: that I was thinking as out of the year aren't
- 15:22Speaker 1: what I'm thinking now because they just change. Whereas like
- 15:25Speaker 1: having one word that's kind of like a guiding word
- 15:28Speaker 1: gives room for flexibility, and like you said, it's like
- 15:30Speaker 1: a north star, so you can kind of go through
- 15:34Speaker 1: the evolving changes that is just fucking life and ask
- 15:40Speaker 1: yourself does this align.
- 15:41Speaker 3: With my word?
- 15:43Speaker 1: So you know, if I was going to start doing
- 15:47Speaker 1: a fuck ton of more work in some sort of area,
- 15:49Speaker 1: I'd be like, does this align?
- 15:50Speaker 3: Okay, I probably need a repreioriti.
- 15:52Speaker 2: I'm going to come and whisper No.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Now, see, C only knows what I'm like. I'm like,
- 15:57Speaker 3: you start throe new business.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I was like, I'm teeth please, I'm like thrifting with
- 16:10Speaker 4: like literally seventeen blue jeans in my arms and You're like, yes,
- 16:14Speaker 4: I'm like.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Well please that I need a boot cut. And then
- 16:23Speaker 1: the second reason why having a word of the year
- 16:25Speaker 1: is beneficial is because unlike resolutions that focus on what
- 16:30Speaker 1: to do, a word of the year emphasizes how to
- 16:33Speaker 1: approach life, and similar to what we were just saying,
- 16:37Speaker 1: I think this just gives you so much more guidance
- 16:39Speaker 1: because you can know what you want, but how to
- 16:41Speaker 1: get it is a completely different ball game.
- 16:43Speaker 3: And kind of like what you were saying before.
- 16:46Speaker 2: The third reason that it's beneficial is flexibility, because having
- 16:51Speaker 2: goals are amazing and great, but as you mentioned, things change,
- 16:57Speaker 2: especially throughout a year, let alone from day to day,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and having a Word of the Year can keep you
- 17:03Speaker 2: accountable and keep you on track without making you feel
- 17:06Speaker 2: like a failure or you're off track if things.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Do change slightly.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're allowed to change your goals as the
- 17:14Speaker 2: year progresses. But if you have that word of the
- 17:17Speaker 2: year keeping you accountable, you can make sure it still
- 17:19Speaker 2: aligns to what you truly want, which I think is
- 17:22Speaker 2: so important.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Do you have any goals this year?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Nah?
- 17:27Speaker 5: No, I.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Like, I don't really feel like I do, like in
- 17:33Speaker 1: terms of how I've kind of got into this year
- 17:37Speaker 1: compared to last year.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Like last year, I had a full vision.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Board and decked out, and I had all these goals
- 17:44Speaker 1: that were so measurable, so numerical, and all such annual goals,
- 17:49Speaker 1: but so many of those happened, and then this year
- 17:52Speaker 1: I just am feeling such a gentler approach, which I
- 17:56Speaker 1: think is the theme that's I'm repeating myself with that.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I'm like, my.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Goals are very much aligned just to that one word,
- 18:05Speaker 1: and my goals are literally like to have more fun. Yeah,
- 18:09Speaker 1: Like I don't have a single thing that's like run
- 18:12Speaker 1: five k's or save this much money. I think it's
- 18:16Speaker 1: more aligned to just being a little bit lighter this year. Yeah,
- 18:20Speaker 1: having a little bit less expectation of myself, which is
- 18:23Speaker 1: sometimes what you need to do when you have had.
- 18:26Speaker 3: A really big year, or you have had a really
- 18:27Speaker 3: intense year. Maybe last year you went through a breakup.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Maybe last year you decided that the career that you're
- 18:33Speaker 1: pursuing isn't necessarily for you, or you moved out of
- 18:36Speaker 1: home and you're struggling with that.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Whatever that is.
- 18:39Speaker 1: If last year felt like just the downward part of
- 18:42Speaker 1: a roller coaster and your tummy is flipping and you're like,
- 18:45Speaker 1: is this ever going fucking end? Yeah, then going into
- 18:48Speaker 1: twenty twenty five being a little bit gentle is probably
- 18:51Speaker 1: the right way to go through because you can always
- 18:54Speaker 1: add them in.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Yeah, you can get.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Car halfway through the year and be like, okay, do
- 18:58Speaker 1: you know what I do? Want to write down some goals.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I think having an intention for the year is always important,
- 19:04Speaker 1: like not going in and raw dogging it, but not
- 19:06Speaker 1: necessarily like writing a list of expectations for yourself when
- 19:10Speaker 1: you're already a little bit tired.
- 19:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think that's the thing. Like with the
- 19:15Speaker 2: word of the year, it could be fun, or it
- 19:18Speaker 2: could be joy, or it could be friendship. It doesn't
- 19:21Speaker 2: have to be reinvention or you know, elevation or something
- 19:26Speaker 2: that's about self betement in the traditional way. It can
- 19:30Speaker 2: be something that is purely about feeling better and feeling happier.
- 19:34Speaker 2: And I think I do have goals for the year,
- 19:37Speaker 2: but a lot of them are in line with that
- 19:40Speaker 2: to kind of rain me in.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Okay, So how to get the most out of a
- 19:47Speaker 1: word of the year.
- 19:48Speaker 3: So Number one is having visual reminders.
- 19:51Speaker 1: After doing a vision board last year, it was crazy
- 19:56Speaker 1: how much of it actually happened.
- 19:58Speaker 3: When we were making them last year, I was like,
- 20:01Speaker 3: fuck it, I'll just put it on. I'll just see.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Because I've never ever ever achieved my goals, Like I've
- 20:06Speaker 1: never achieved news resolutions because I get the joke from
- 20:09Speaker 1: me and hit of setting them and then I'm like done.
- 20:10Speaker 3: That's why we launched reach in life.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Literally the first.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Year that we like launched the planner made vision boards
- 20:19Speaker 1: and actually like applied it to our life was the
- 20:21Speaker 1: first year I ever achieved my news goals, which was
- 20:23Speaker 1: like but it was crazy the amount of stuff that
- 20:27Speaker 1: was on our vision boards that actually came true.
- 20:31Speaker 3: And I loved that trend that was like vision board verse.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Reality and going through like I had, like getting a
- 20:37Speaker 1: new like upgrading my car because rip Bessie but she
- 20:41Speaker 1: stopped working, and then going to Europe, getting you know,
- 20:45Speaker 1: myself into a stronger phase of my life, learning how
- 20:50Speaker 1: to do like my brows at home, Like there was
- 20:53Speaker 1: just it was so crazy.
- 20:55Speaker 3: A new couch. My couch was literally on my vision
- 20:59Speaker 3: board and then was it and I was like, this
- 21:01Speaker 3: is what is this black magic?
- 21:04Speaker 1: But yeah, having it visually and it does really help
- 21:07Speaker 1: because I remember there was days that I was like
- 21:09Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, and it would be and it was
- 21:12Speaker 1: right next to my bed and I'd look at it
- 21:13Speaker 1: and it was judging me and it was like listen here,
- 21:16Speaker 1: you little shit, get up and I was like, fine, yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: And it's so good because out of sight, out of mind,
- 21:22Speaker 1: And we actually did do a whole episode on vision
- 21:24Speaker 1: Boards last year.
- 21:25Speaker 3: So you can type that.
- 21:26Speaker 1: In and you'll be able to find it easy psy
- 21:28Speaker 1: We can link it in the share notes that having
- 21:30Speaker 1: the word of the year, stick it on your mirror,
- 21:34Speaker 1: stick it on your phone, stick it somewhere that you're
- 21:37Speaker 1: always going to see it, because that is going to
- 21:41Speaker 1: keep it in the front of mind for you in
- 21:42Speaker 1: those moments where maybe you are spiraling.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Or you've been like, what am I doing with my life? Yeah?
- 21:47Speaker 2: I think having something visual to anchor you to that
- 21:50Speaker 2: is so important because a lot of us say our
- 21:54Speaker 2: priorities are one thing, but your priorities are reflected in
- 21:59Speaker 2: how you spa and your money and how you spend
- 22:01Speaker 2: your time. And the start of the year is an
- 22:05Speaker 2: amazing time to reflect back on the last twelve months
- 22:09Speaker 2: and your habits and how you have been spending your
- 22:11Speaker 2: money and how you have been spending your time. And
- 22:13Speaker 2: it can be confronting, it can be hard, but it's
- 22:16Speaker 2: also really liberating because you may be like, oh, my
- 22:21Speaker 2: priority is to say, for a house, and it's like,
- 22:24Speaker 2: I think your priority is actually online shopping.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Why are you being mean?
- 22:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean, But I'm not saying that
- 22:33Speaker 2: it's not hard to do and that it's not a
- 22:35Speaker 2: tough conversation to.
- 22:36Speaker 3: Have your cycle person.
- 22:39Speaker 1: You know, like you say your goal is to save
- 22:42Speaker 1: for a house, but why you're on deep up every
- 22:43Speaker 1: day and I'm Mike Sally lower your damn.
- 22:45Speaker 2: Pase that's different. You're supporting slow fashion, yeah, sustainability.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Sayentrification for everything exactly.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Okay. The next way to get.
- 22:56Speaker 1: The most out of your word of the year is
- 22:59Speaker 1: daily reflect So start or end your day by asking
- 23:02Speaker 1: how can I live my word today?
- 23:05Speaker 3: And then lastly is check ins.
- 23:08Speaker 1: So revisit your word monthly to reflect on how it
- 23:11Speaker 1: is influencing your life.
- 23:12Speaker 3: And again, like we said, you can change it if
- 23:14Speaker 3: you want.
- 23:15Speaker 1: If you're like, do you know what I think this
- 23:17Speaker 1: word reflects better on how I'm feeling now, Like they're
- 23:20Speaker 1: literally no rules.
- 23:22Speaker 2: And a free hack. If you're listening to this and
- 23:24Speaker 2: you're like, how I don't know what to do? I
- 23:25Speaker 2: have a thousand words going through my head. Here's A
- 23:28Speaker 2: free tip to help you identify your word of the year,
- 23:32Speaker 2: and that's to use chat GPT, So just type in
- 23:37Speaker 2: help me choose my word of the year. My goals
- 23:40Speaker 2: and vision for twenty twenty five include and include a
- 23:44Speaker 2: list of the things that you want to achieve and.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Or do or spend more time with.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah Yeah, Moving on to cheat code number two for
- 23:54Speaker 2: twenty twenty five, say no to permissive thoughts. So what
- 24:00Speaker 2: are permissive thoughts? These are the things that we tell
- 24:03Speaker 2: ourselves to justify the habits or behaviors that we have
- 24:08Speaker 2: that are stopping us from achieving our goals. So, for example,
- 24:14Speaker 2: a permissive thought could be it's only fifty dollars ah,
- 24:21Speaker 2: or I know I'm burnt out, but things will slow
- 24:26Speaker 2: down once his project is over. These are all going
- 24:31Speaker 2: to be very different for every person. So a good
- 24:34Speaker 2: exercise to identify what your permissive thoughts may be is
- 24:38Speaker 2: to grab a piece of paper and divide it into
- 24:42Speaker 2: two columns. On the left side, write down what goals
- 24:47Speaker 2: you've wanted to achieve, and then next to those in
- 24:50Speaker 2: the right column, write down some of the things that
- 24:53Speaker 2: you have told yourself that have stopped you from achieving
- 24:57Speaker 2: those goals.
- 24:57Speaker 5: Like I'll start tomorrow exactly, yeah, or i'm really tired,
- 25:02Speaker 5: I'll just sleep in another ten minutes ah ah, or
- 25:10Speaker 5: I work.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Better under pressure.
- 25:11Speaker 2: It just seems like a reader.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Nos.
- 25:14Speaker 2: A lot of these are things that I wrote down
- 25:17Speaker 2: in my right hand column. They're not they're definitely it's
- 25:19Speaker 2: not personal. But by defining exactly what these permissive thoughts are,
- 25:25Speaker 2: in those moments when you don't want to do something
- 25:29Speaker 2: that's a little bit hard but you know it is
- 25:32Speaker 2: good for you and will help you achieve those goals,
- 25:35Speaker 2: something will go off in your brain and you'll say
- 25:37Speaker 2: that's a permissive thought and you can swap it with
- 25:40Speaker 2: something else. So instead of saying to yourself, I work
- 25:43Speaker 2: better under pressure, so I'll start right before it's due,
- 25:47Speaker 2: reframe that and say, I know i'll get stressed the
- 25:52Speaker 2: day before and I'll be able to produce a better
- 25:55Speaker 2: piece of work if I give myself more time to
- 25:58Speaker 2: work on it.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:00Speaker 2: And I think it's just being conscious of those things
- 26:02Speaker 2: and being conscious of those permissive thoughts that are holding
- 26:05Speaker 2: you back, and because the alternative is that you never
- 26:11Speaker 2: change them and you keep acting on these permissive thoughts.
- 26:17Speaker 2: And something that was really hard for me to do,
- 26:20Speaker 2: but really cemented this and why this is so important
- 26:23Speaker 2: for me is that it was like, Okay, well, the
- 26:27Speaker 2: alternative is you don't change them.
- 26:29Speaker 3: So what happens?
- 26:31Speaker 2: You say, I always choose work over spending time with
- 26:35Speaker 2: my partner. I always choose sitting down and scrolling on
- 26:39Speaker 2: TikTok instead of reading the book that's on my bedside table.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I choose to sleep in instead of going to the gym.
- 26:48Speaker 2: And it's like, you always choose this because I think
- 26:52Speaker 2: we kind of lie to ourselves that those are our priorities.
- 26:56Speaker 3: But they're not.
- 26:58Speaker 2: And it's these things we tell ourselves because it change
- 27:01Speaker 2: is really hard, and I think we try and you know,
- 27:04Speaker 2: ease the blow to ourselves and be like, oh no,
- 27:06Speaker 2: but it's you know, it'll slow down after the soil.
- 27:08Speaker 3: I'll do it tomorrow, or it's only fifty dollars.
- 27:10Speaker 2: All these little things are trying to convince us to
- 27:14Speaker 2: just stay in these same patterns and habits that we've
- 27:17Speaker 2: been doing. But it is a difficult exercise, but I
- 27:22Speaker 2: really do recommend it because it will make you realize
- 27:24Speaker 2: that your priorities don't currently align with your values and.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Your actions and something really good to do.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I think at the beginning of the year, especially.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Next cheat code and last cheat code of this episode, the.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Rule of one hundred.
- 27:40Speaker 1: You're gonna like this because this is actually so aligned
- 27:44Speaker 1: to your word of the year.
- 27:46Speaker 3: So I just it was like I just told you
- 27:51Speaker 3: Sana was coming in the studio.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I recently read this and became utterly obsessed with it.
- 27:58Speaker 3: And it's called the rule of one hundred.
- 28:01Speaker 1: So if you spend one hundred hours a year in
- 28:04Speaker 1: any discipline, which is only eighteen minutes a day, you'll
- 28:08Speaker 1: be better than ninety five percent of the world in
- 28:10Speaker 1: that discipline. Consistency is everything. So this is Jade Bonacoult's quote,
- 28:17Speaker 1: and it highlights the incredible power of consistency and the
- 28:21Speaker 1: high impact of small daily efforts over time, because when
- 28:25Speaker 1: you break down it down to eighteen minutes, Like if
- 28:28Speaker 1: I said I want you to spend one hundred hours
- 28:30Speaker 1: this year learning Italian, you'd.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Be like, I didn't have one hundred hours.
- 28:34Speaker 1: I didn't have one hundred hours a year to spend
- 28:38Speaker 1: learning how to play a new instrument or journaling or
- 28:42Speaker 1: learning a new language. But when you realize it's only
- 28:44Speaker 1: eighteen minutes a day, and think about how many minutes
- 28:47Speaker 1: a day you scroll on your phone. It's really easy
- 28:50Speaker 1: to actually achieve one hundred hours a year bettering yourself
- 28:53Speaker 1: in some way that's not necessarily self development, it's not
- 28:56Speaker 1: necessarily about that. But I think any way that you're
- 28:59Speaker 1: spending time that is building consistency in a hobby or
- 29:04Speaker 1: an interest or journaling or gratitude or whatever it is,
- 29:08Speaker 1: you're so much better off for that instead of the
- 29:12Speaker 1: shit dover I mean.
- 29:13Speaker 3: You get from strolling on your phone.
- 29:15Speaker 1: So the key to the rule of one hundred is consistency.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Regular daily practice is more effective than sporadic, intensive efforts,
- 29:23Speaker 1: and this approach helps build habits and ensures steady improvement.
- 29:27Speaker 3: I love that.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, So what would you spend eighteen minutes doing a day?
- 29:32Speaker 3: What do you want to spend This is my follow
- 29:34Speaker 3: up question, follow up, follow up?
- 29:36Speaker 1: What do you want to spend one hundred hours doing
- 29:39Speaker 1: this year?
- 29:40Speaker 3: I think it's walking for me. Did you buy a
- 29:45Speaker 3: walking pad yet?
- 29:46Speaker 5: No?
- 29:46Speaker 3: I haven't mine comes today.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Well, I can't wait to hear the full review, obviously,
- 29:50Speaker 2: but I've made more of an effort to walk instead
- 29:53Speaker 2: of getting an uber or public transport where I can
- 29:57Speaker 2: and building that into my routine only.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Two weeks in. Right, bad, We're good, We're good.
- 30:03Speaker 2: But I can already already feel that it's having such
- 30:06Speaker 2: a positive impact and even again being like, you can
- 30:10Speaker 2: just do eighteen minutes.
- 30:11Speaker 1: And it's not about I think there's a lot of
- 30:15Speaker 1: content and narratives at the start of the year that's
- 30:18Speaker 1: about changing the way that you look.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not about it, and it's.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Not about that at all.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I think it's truly about the way that you feel.
- 30:26Speaker 1: And we were talking about this over the break because
- 30:28Speaker 1: we were going to the beach and we ended up
- 30:30Speaker 1: getting a park but it was like a little bit
- 30:32Speaker 1: far away, but I ended up enjoying walking like from
- 30:36Speaker 1: the car to the beach ten times more rather than
- 30:39Speaker 1: getting one.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Like right there.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, And we're just saying how even when we're on holidays,
- 30:43Speaker 1: you just walk everywhere. Yeah, like when we were in Europe,
- 30:46Speaker 1: but when we go to you know, wherever we've been,
- 30:49Speaker 1: you just walk everywhere and you just feel so much better.
- 30:52Speaker 1: My eighteen minutes to day that I want to spend
- 30:56Speaker 1: is like on hobbies, So I think I need to
- 31:00Speaker 1: identify and pick which one.
- 31:02Speaker 3: But the one that I've been the most consistent with.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I would say is learning Italian, which I'm really excited
- 31:10Speaker 1: bye and DUELINGO.
- 31:11Speaker 3: And I become a really good friends.
- 31:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Yeah, imagine spending it.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Like I get to the end of the year and
- 31:17Speaker 1: I can be like, I spent one hundred hours learning Italian.
- 31:19Speaker 3: I'm immediately better than everyone else.
- 31:21Speaker 2: That little bird I'm due Lingo is going to be
- 31:23Speaker 2: giving you all the accolades.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's all you need. Yeah, he's obsessed with me.
- 31:27Speaker 1: I'm like, stop messaging Meduo and he's like, baby girl.
- 31:31Speaker 3: You need to continue a streak. And I'm like, okay,
- 31:34Speaker 3: do it.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'll do it all right.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Shall we get into advice with the Chicks?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Yeah, let's do it all right.
- 31:45Speaker 1: Thank you so much to the Cheeky Chook for emailing
- 31:48Speaker 1: this into us. If you do want to send anything,
- 31:50Speaker 1: you can either email us or you can send it
- 31:52Speaker 1: to the Broke Chicks Hardline, which will leave the number
- 31:57Speaker 1: in the description of the episode.
- 31:59Speaker 3: All right, strap In is a bit of a tail.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Okay, Hi, Shikis, I'm in need of your advice. Am
- 32:05Speaker 1: I in the wrong for confronting one of my friends? Ooh,
- 32:10Speaker 1: so myself and my partner went away with some of
- 32:13Speaker 1: my friends on.
- 32:14Speaker 3: A holiday midyear.
- 32:15Speaker 1: All was well until this one particular friend got a
- 32:18Speaker 1: bit drunk half rats and cracked it because she was
- 32:22Speaker 1: losing at an Uno game and threw the cards directly
- 32:25Speaker 1: at my partner.
- 32:26Speaker 3: Oh.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Everyone thought it was a bit aggressive, but she thought
- 32:30Speaker 1: it was and still thinks it's funny. My partner wasn't happy,
- 32:33Speaker 1: but he shrugged it off. Fast forward to Christmas and
- 32:36Speaker 1: we had an annual Christmas shindig. There was multiple people
- 32:39Speaker 1: in the room and she sat there flirting with my
- 32:41Speaker 1: partner's best friend and also continuously throwing a dog toy
- 32:45Speaker 1: at my partner's face and a head for over an hour.
- 32:49Speaker 1: He tried to ignore her, hoping she would stop, but
- 32:51Speaker 1: she didn't.
- 32:52Speaker 3: He then made a comment about needing.
- 32:54Speaker 1: A shield if she's going to be continuing to throw
- 32:56Speaker 1: stuff at him.
- 32:57Speaker 3: She didn't get the hint that he wanted her to stop.
- 33:00Speaker 1: He didn't want to embarrass her in front of all
- 33:02Speaker 1: of our friends, so we let it go after making
- 33:04Speaker 1: a hinted joke to stop. During the night, she also
- 33:08Speaker 1: made a few flirty comments to him, but he shrugged
- 33:10Speaker 1: it off.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Oh my god. After everyone had left. He mentioned how
- 33:15Speaker 3: annoying it was and how he.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Didn't appreciate having a toy thrown at him continuously. I
- 33:20Speaker 1: also had a few of the friends that were there
- 33:22Speaker 1: make comments about her behavior. After a couple days of
- 33:26Speaker 1: thinking about how to approach it, I sent her a message,
- 33:29Speaker 1: as the next time I was going to see her
- 33:30Speaker 1: would be in a group setting and I didn't want
- 33:33Speaker 1: to wait long to confront the issue.
- 33:34Speaker 3: That's smart.
- 33:36Speaker 1: So a messaged just saying, on a side note, drunk
- 33:39Speaker 1: slash Tipsy needs oh so like her. So drunk slash
- 33:43Speaker 1: Tipsy needs to stop throwing things at my partner as
- 33:46Speaker 1: he doesn't appreciate it and I would hate for him
- 33:48Speaker 1: to snap.
- 33:48Speaker 3: And have a go at her if it was to continue.
- 33:51Speaker 1: I stated it wasn't a big issue, just needed to
- 33:53Speaker 1: nip it in the bud and ensure it doesn't continue
- 33:56Speaker 1: to happen as it's happened twice now.
- 33:59Speaker 2: Oh shit ah.
- 34:01Speaker 1: She then replied saying if I'm such a problem, don't
- 34:04Speaker 1: bother inviting me to things. Take this as my notice
- 34:07Speaker 1: for all future invites. Thank you, but no thank you.
- 34:12Speaker 3: Fuck.
- 34:13Speaker 1: It was a bit of an overreaction. She could have
- 34:15Speaker 1: just said shit sorry, didn't realize. Yeah, it's now been
- 34:19Speaker 1: six weeks since, and her sister, who I'm also friends with, is.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Now getting involved. When she said, she.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Didn't want to be in the middle, saying it shouldn't
- 34:27Speaker 1: have come from me, it should have come directly from
- 34:29Speaker 1: my partner if it was an issue, that I hurt
- 34:32Speaker 1: her feelings, and that I'm being stubborn for not messaging
- 34:35Speaker 1: her since etc. I asked a few friends and they
- 34:38Speaker 1: all agreed with me, saying that it was the nicest
- 34:40Speaker 1: way possible and that it makes sense for it to
- 34:42Speaker 1: come from me, as in a relationship, you stick up
- 34:44Speaker 1: for your other half. They deal with their friends and
- 34:46Speaker 1: family and you deal with yours if there's any issues.
- 34:49Speaker 1: I don't tolerate disrespectful behavior and would have said the
- 34:52Speaker 1: same thing to anyone and have done so in the past.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Some of my friends think her behavior is more primary
- 34:57Speaker 1: school flirty and that she likes my post partner. Oh
- 35:02Speaker 1: my god, the issue being we are getting married in
- 35:06Speaker 1: a few months and she's meant to be one of
- 35:08Speaker 1: my bridesmaids.
- 35:09Speaker 5: Fuck.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I'm disappointed in her behavior and if she's flirting with him,
- 35:14Speaker 1: I would be hurt by her actions and she's meant
- 35:17Speaker 1: to be one of my closest friends.
- 35:19Speaker 3: No part of me is jealous. I completely trust my partner,
- 35:22Speaker 3: just disappointed in the friendship. Am I wrong for confronting
- 35:25Speaker 3: my friend or is she just out of line?
- 35:28Speaker 2: Oh my god, I know, I know You're definitely not
- 35:32Speaker 2: in the wrong for confronting her. I think like it
- 35:37Speaker 2: probably could have been better if your partner was in
- 35:41Speaker 2: a difficult situation. But it could have been good if
- 35:43Speaker 2: he was like, okay, like enough now.
- 35:45Speaker 1: But I was in a room full of people, like
- 35:48Speaker 1: you know, if that happens, then like there's that awkward silence,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and then as well, like he did kind of be like, oh,
- 35:56Speaker 1: I'm gonna need a shield, Like most self aware people
- 35:59Speaker 1: would pick up most aypful way people wouldn't spend.
- 36:01Speaker 3: An hour throwing a dog to it at someone ahead. Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 3: and that does kind of give the energy of being like,
- 36:06Speaker 3: oh my god, give me your heart. Yeah, you know totally.
- 36:09Speaker 1: That is like it is semi attention seeking behavior to
- 36:14Speaker 1: be doing that.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, And I think that the way that
- 36:17Speaker 2: she responded was she's clearly embarrassed on the defense, which
- 36:23Speaker 2: I get that is embarrassing, So you know, I can
- 36:27Speaker 2: understand why she would be a little bit but hurt
- 36:29Speaker 2: about it, but the way that she responded is not right,
- 36:32Speaker 2: Like she should have apologized.
- 36:34Speaker 1: Also, this saying of take this as my RSVP to
- 36:37Speaker 1: all invitations, thank you, but no thank you.
- 36:39Speaker 2: Yeah, like no accountability, no apology, completely putting it back
- 36:45Speaker 2: on you and making you feel like you're the bad person.
- 36:48Speaker 2: I wonder if this is a unique instance like these
- 36:53Speaker 2: last two parties, or if this is the sort of
- 36:55Speaker 2: behavior that she's shown like throughout their friendship. Because as
- 37:00Speaker 2: much as I'm like, I can understand if you appreciate
- 37:03Speaker 2: and value the friendship and you want to reach out
- 37:06Speaker 2: to her and try and make amends. But I don't
- 37:09Speaker 2: know if you want somebody like this in your bridal party.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Oh my god, no, because bridal parties are.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Notorious for bringing up drama in friendship, throwing a dog
- 37:20Speaker 2: toy at his head when you're saying you're there exactly
- 37:23Speaker 2: mid kiss, you may now kiss dog toy right at
- 37:28Speaker 2: the face.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 1: I just I think that her response was quite immature.
- 37:36Speaker 1: I think she could have been a little bit more understanding,
- 37:40Speaker 1: And I don't think your partner should have been the
- 37:42Speaker 1: one to send the message, I think she's your friend.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I think it would have been weird, uncomfortable and overstepping
- 37:48Speaker 1: for him to do that. Like if my partner messaged
- 37:51Speaker 1: a friend of mine and was like, hey, you pissed
- 37:53Speaker 1: me off, I would probably kick him.
- 37:54Speaker 3: Yeah, oh my god, we have a seal kaboo.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Boo, I'd be like, like, I don't, I completely agree.
- 38:02Speaker 3: I think they deal with their friends and family.
- 38:04Speaker 1: You deal with your friends and family, Like, I don't
- 38:07Speaker 1: think you've done the wrong thing with that at all.
- 38:10Speaker 1: But what I would suggest maybe thinking about and listening
- 38:16Speaker 1: to it's this new book from Mel Robbins and it's
- 38:20Speaker 1: called the Let Them Theory, which everyone probably knows at
- 38:23Speaker 1: this point, like the video Went Violet had nineteen million views.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But there's a chapter in the book and it's the
- 38:27Speaker 1: second chapter, so it'll probably.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Really really help.
- 38:30Speaker 1: And it's not only about let them, but let me,
- 38:34Speaker 1: So let Them is kind of situating you and being like,
- 38:38Speaker 1: you know what if she wants to be mad about this,
- 38:41Speaker 1: if she wants to tell her sister and they don't
- 38:43Speaker 1: want to talk to me, and she doesn't want to
- 38:45Speaker 1: come to events, and she doesn't want to.
- 38:47Speaker 3: Be in my bridal party, anymore. Whatever that is.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Let them, but don't forget to also follow it up
- 38:54Speaker 1: with let me, So then let them do that, let
- 38:59Speaker 1: me continue on with my partner, ensure that I have
- 39:02Speaker 1: my boundaries, go about my wedding, find a different bridesmaid,
- 39:06Speaker 1: whatever that is. But have a listen to that, because
- 39:08Speaker 1: I think it'll really help you decide whether or not
- 39:11Speaker 1: you want to continue the friendship and if you think
- 39:14Speaker 1: there's something worth saving, or if you think that it's worth.
- 39:19Speaker 3: Just walking away.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Because what would be hard in this situation is it
- 39:23Speaker 1: wasn't a big blow up. It was something really small
- 39:26Speaker 1: that obviously they're really close friends, so that's going to
- 39:29Speaker 1: be hard to just stop being friends because she was
- 39:31Speaker 1: throwing a dog toy at a boyfriend.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, but I don't think it's about that.
- 39:36Speaker 1: I think it's about the way that it's been handled
- 39:38Speaker 1: after and how you know, personal and defense ive.
- 39:41Speaker 3: She got about it.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yeah, So I think sit with it a little bit
- 39:45Speaker 1: and have a think about what you want.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I think you went about it in the most mature
- 39:49Speaker 2: and gentle way that you could while also being honest,
- 39:52Speaker 2: because I.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Also don't think it should have been like I think
- 39:56Speaker 1: even meeting up in person to discuss it would have
- 39:58Speaker 1: made it a bigger deal than it needed to be. Yeah,
- 40:00Speaker 1: like I feel like sending a Texas phone. It's been
- 40:02Speaker 1: like hey, just a heads up, like this wasn't a vibe.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And then to be like.
- 40:06Speaker 6: Okay, fine, I'm not coming to anything anymore. I was like, oh, yeah, good, Okay.
- 40:13Speaker 6: I don't know if that helped, but we made you
- 40:16Speaker 6: feel better.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I'd loved that. I've decided that we made you feel better. Okay,
- 40:22Speaker 3: you feel better? You feel good now? Yeah, you feel good?
- 40:25Speaker 1: Now?
- 40:25Speaker 3: That's a rap. That's a rappy doodle.
