  all and stands at the very center of our lives day after

  day. Through this podcast, you'll

  You will take a look together at the five core principles of NDI
• 1:02
  but. We're going through the five
• 1:04
  core principles of NDI here on the Everyday Eurasia podcast,
• 1:07
  and I want to take a moment just to explain what NDI is stands,
• 1:13
  of course, for Nazarene Discipleship International.
• 1:16
  But what is the purpose of it? Well, the purpose of NDI is to
• 1:20
  help our church fulfill the Great Commission that Jesus gave
• 1:24
  us and indeed the mission statement of our church to make
• 1:29
  Christ like disciples in the nations.
• 1:32
  We exist as a church to do this. Now, a lot of times people think
• 1:36
  of churches just the place that you get together on Sunday
• 1:40
  morning, and that's great. But if that's all we're doing,
• 1:45
  we may not be making disciples the way Jesus intended us to be.
• 1:50
  Nazarene Discipleship International exists so that
• 1:55
  we're not dependent on just one person on a Sunday morning,
• 1:59
  giving us everything we need to become a disciple.
• 2:03
  Discipleship often times happens outside of the Sunday morning
• 2:08
  church, where we're gathered together in prayer, we're
• 2:11
  gathered together to read the scriptures, we're gathered
• 2:14
  together to encourage one another to grow closer together
• 2:18
  in relationship. And Nazarene Discipleship
• 2:21
  International's goal is so that the work of discipleship would
• 2:26
  be spread throughout the church family.
• 2:29
  Hopefully there are people who are passionate about
• 2:32
  discipleship in your church. If you're one of those people,
• 2:36
  we need you to pray for your church family to be thinking
• 2:41
  about the people in the church, where they are in their walk
• 2:45
  with Christ, and what do they need to go to take that next
• 2:48
  step. And so NDI exists to get the
• 2:52
  resources to empower God's people and to encourage the
• 2:56
  church body to become disciples and to make disciples and not to
• 3:00
  just put it on the pastor to do everything.
• 3:05
  Now, the fourth core principle of NDI is comprehensive biblical
• 3:09
  learning. The Bible is essential to our
• 3:14
  walk with Christ. It's it's many times how we
• 3:17
  encounter Christ is through the testimony of the witnesses that
• 3:23
  knew him and wrote about him. Jesus as he was resurrected,
• 3:28
  walked with the two disciples on the road to Emmaus.
• 3:33
  And in Luke 24, 27, Jesus says how foolish are you and how slow
• 3:40
  to believe all that the prophets have spoken?
• 3:43
  Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then
• 3:46
  enter into His glory? And beginning with Moses and all
• 3:50
  the prophets, Jesus explained to them what was said in all the
• 3:54
  scriptures concerning Himself. One of the things the
• 3:58
  resurrected Jesus thought was very important was to go through
• 4:02
  the Scriptures together to explain to us that everything in
• 4:08
  the Scriptures points to Jesus himself.
• 4:12
  We need to be people of the Scriptures, not just so we know
• 4:16
  more Bible stories, although that's good, but to understand
• 4:20
  the one big Bible story and how all of it points to Jesus, and
• 4:26
  to learn how we fit into the story that the Bible is telling.
• 4:33
  Comprehensive biblical learning isn't just about learning facts.
• 4:36
  It's about understanding our place in what God has been doing
• 4:41
  since creation and is continuing to do into the consummation.
• 4:46
  In order for us to play a part in what God is doing, we have to
• 4:49
  know not just what we're supposed to do.
• 4:53
  Many times we ask ourselves that question, What am I supposed to
• 4:56
  do in this situation? Well, before you can answer the
• 4:59
  question of what you're supposed to do right now, you need to
• 5:03
  know first what story you're a part of.
• 5:08
  And once you understand the story you're a part of, then we
• 5:12
  will naturally know what to do in any given situation because
• 5:17
  we will understand the direction that God is taking the story and
• 5:22
  our part in it. But comprehensive biblical
• 5:25
  learning was essential to the resurrected Jesus.
• 5:29
  And it's it's essential to our discipleship as Christians.
• 5:33
  Let's pray. God thank you for not leaving us
• 5:39
  in the dark concerning your plans and what has gone before,
• 5:43
  but that you have given us a light to our feet and a
• 5:47
  direction for our lives that you have made in desire to make our
• 5:52
  paths straight as we walk with you.
• 5:55
  Lord, I pray for all of the churches, all of our churches
• 5:58
  and all of the people that are listening to this that if there
• 6:01
  are those that are passionate about discipleship that they
• 6:04
  would get together and say we need to help our brothers and
• 6:07
  sisters grow in the knowledge of Christ.
• 6:12
  And I pray that your spirit would be upon us as we fulfil
• 6:15
  the Commission that you gave to us in Jesus name, Amen.
