- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Welcome to a second mini special with myself and Henry Croft.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: We thought it was only right, seeing so the the the great popularity of last week's mini podcast with Henry Croft where he has completely took the reins as most popular host ever.
- 0:30SPEAKER_01: Um he's had signs named after him.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: He's um he's had a lot going on.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: We've had a big week talking him up.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: We're back in uh on my kitchen table doing a little mini mini special again because of the the weekend.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: We wanted to do a little review of it.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Henry, it's it's great to have you back.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much for having me.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much for having me.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, got a lot of traction, didn't it?
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Um when I got tagged in a post and I saw a sign that said Drogbert Rooney Ledesma, I thought, wow, that's that's pretty cool.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I've made it.
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, all you need is a couple of clip, a couple of a couple of throwbacks to the Premier League.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: And and you're in less about foot hockey and more about football, and then it was we're gonna dive straight into the to the finals.
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Um first question just straight off the bat before we get into any results, anything, anything uh spicy.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Did the finals weekend feel like a proper showcase for English hockey?
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Were you happy with how it felt?
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: It's your first one that you've played in.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: What did it feel like?
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um it felt pretty special.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: I think I quite like the fact it was at Serbiton.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Um, because just remembering back to when I was at Lee Valley, it didn't feel as big because it was like it wasn't full, right?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Whereas Surbiton, it was absolutely round, there was loads of people.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Quite cool that the dogs were allowed there as well.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: Quite a lot of the dogs, it made like a family feel.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I really like dogs.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: Um, no, it was it was pretty special.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Um, the clubhouse has obviously been done up as well, which made things pretty cool, and um yeah, no, it was really good.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I'll probably have to agree with you.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: Like, um, I guess when you have it at a smaller venue, it always gonna feel like make it feel busy.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: Um, I also thought pretty impressive on Sunday, you know, that I think there was there was over a thousand tickets sold.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: They had a live band on, Marquis was up, you know, it was a real nice feel to the place.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: We had good weather, um, all of them things kind of making it feel you know busy, you know, energetic.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: I actually thought when when we played the crowds were good, pretty into the games.
- 2:41SPEAKER_01: Um the only thing I would say that would make it that little bit better is like a proper stand, like a proper little stand would be would be good.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: But um, you know, comparing it to last year, were you were you at Beaston?
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: I was.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Um, I went to watch, and it to be fair, that was also pretty cool.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Um but slightly different being a spectator, and I only came for the final.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: One thing I would say, which I think because it was at Serbiton, this kind of maybe helps because people live round.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Um, everyone sort of stayed, even not necessarily the people um that were old orange supporters or Wimbledon supporters.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: It felt like you know everybody stayed around, um, was social as maybe at Beaston because it was on the Sunday, like people were trying to get back, um, and it wasn't as packed for the final.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I mean both events are pretty cool, but yeah, I think you're right.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: A stand would just tip it over the edge and make it make it even better.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 3:36SPEAKER_01: And I I do also think location is key.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: Like with that, I think part of the reason surely they put it Serbiton was you've got you know, four, you know, it's a it's a London-based league, as we know.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: The the quality is has been in London, so hopefully you're gonna attract the supporters to come, you know, not travel too far, come and come and have a beer and go home on the train or whatever.
- 3:56SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, I would I would I would start with saying a real positive with the with it, it did feel like a big occasion.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: It was good for English hockey.
- 4:03SPEAKER_01: I think it's a good stepping stone to use for for coming years, and hopefully they can they can continue to grow it.
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Second of all, I guess like the coverage.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: I did watch some of the games on the live stream, would say that it's probably got a still bit to go, but I like the fact that there was different camera angles, there was replays, the the commentary.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Commentary was something to be desired at times.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: There's a couple of uh I'd say a couple of uh good commentators, but a couple of a couple of dodgy ones in there.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, I mean I did the commentary last year, it's a tough gig.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: It is a tough gig.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Um, because you know, if you've never done it before, you've got to try and bring some passion, but also actually think about what you're saying, which can be quite difficult.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Uh and then you just sort of blurt stuff out.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but to be fair, like the coverage, as you say, was getting a lot better.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: I think a little bit of work with maybe the different camera angles and making stuff all sort of the same time, but it's in a good spot in terms of it's definitely better than it was last year um and the year before that, so it's going in the right direction.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I guess let's come on to the um the actual results.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: Uh we'll start with the with the women's women's review, um, and start with the fact that I I actually managed to get a hard time from Durham, and um I've already had to send them had send them an apology, which you know is is fair enough.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: We didn't we didn't big them up enough maybe last last week we didn't we didn't give any ones to watch, so you know, but again, congratulations on being there, I'll say it now.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: But like um, yeah, I I think maybe they used it as a source of motivation, apparently, to try and inspire them to bear performances.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, Serberton came out on top, beating Wimbledon in the final.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: Um, have you got any key takeaways?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Did you watch the I guess pretty difficult for us because we were prepping to play in the final, but but what was your kind of takeaway from any of the women's the women's games?
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, um, as you say, didn't see much of it just because we weren't really really able to, but um it did seem like sort of as we sort of predicted, you know, it was pretty tight, but then I think the quality of Serbiton just just shone through.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: Um it seems like they were very clinical in the in the right moments, and to be fair, I think they took the support that they had with being at home and they flew with it and got the result.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, they they did seem like they they they play pretty good hockey.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: Um from our predictions on players to watch, I mean we've got to talk about Ledesma to start off with.
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: The Hampstead forward obviously got some traction.
- 6:34SPEAKER_01: You were happy with that, but other other predictions, I think were you happy with your predictions, do you reckon then players managed to perform?
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I think both the goalies did very well.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: Um Ledesma Blas, I don't think she managed to get on the score sheet in the end, which I was gutted about.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Um, but we did meet her actually, and she is lovely.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: So hi Catherine, if you if you're listening.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, no, I think Jess and Aisha both played very well, managed to get both of their teams to the final, um, made some big saves.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I think we're pretty bob on Phil.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: We basically know everything, really.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: I mean, we will come on to our predictions.
- 7:10SPEAKER_01: We didn't quite we did alright.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: I think we did all right.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: We did very well on the women's side.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, I mean I would say it probably uh with the women's side, definitely kind of went with exactly what was predicted.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: You know, Surbiton went unbeaten in the year, they they overcame a a plucky Durham side in the semi-final, um, Hampstead and Wimbledon playing out a uh you know a tight affair for it to be you know the big Wimbledon versus Serbiton, you know, the matchup that I think people wanted.
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: It was a bit of a derby.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: There's a hell of a lot of GB players in them in them teams.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Um what would you say people have got to do to knock Serbiton off their perch?
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Because I spoke to Giselle Ansley, who is uh who has actually won 10 titles for Surbiton, which is just insane.
- 8:00SPEAKER_01: Um, since I think joining in 2013 or 14.
- 8:05SPEAKER_01: So I mean they they they absolutely have a hold on on this title.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Um is there anything you think that the other teams could be doing, or like because Wimbledon has a hell of a lot of quality, yeah.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: I think I mean it's obviously very difficult.
- 8:21SPEAKER_00: 10 titles is that in 13 years?
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: That is mental.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I think like anything, you've got to try and look at what's happened before and create a different tactical plan.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: Um, I think if you look at the men's side, that's what they did.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: The Wimbledon men did very well.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, they saw what happened in the league, maybe what happened in previous years, and created a plan to combat that.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: And I think that's the only way you can really go about it because they're clearly a very dominant side with some very good players.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, 10 in 13 years, that that's like that's MJ stuff.
- 8:56SPEAKER_00: Like, wow, that's ridiculous.
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it's a nice it's a nice segue into the into the men's side where um me and Croft can uh sit here quite smug because we managed to I mean Croft's in his first year managed to manage to win the title.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Um I've finally finally waited 10 years since my last um Premier League title and managed to it was 10 years ago, won in 2015, 2016 with Wimbledon and had uh had a nice 10-year wait.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: But yeah, Croft just said he was 15, making me feel real depressed.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: But like the s the the segue is yeah, is that is that Serbiton won I think 19 wins out of 19 games um going into that side.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: I mean, me and Crofty last week didn't give Wimbledon a chance.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: They'd had a ridiculous, very hard time against Serbiton in the uh previous, I think, two or three times they played them throughout the year, but managed to kind of pull out I would say a bit of a tactical masterclass, um, with with uh managing to win 4-2 in the end, they were 4-1 up for a long, long period of the game.
- 10:10SPEAKER_01: Um, did you manage to watch that game and what was your takeaways?
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I watched I think I watched the first half, and I think in the second half we weren't quite there, but I watched a little bit of it back.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: Um, I think to be fair, first of all, credit to them for that season.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: That was unbelievable.
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: Um, going unbeaten.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: But I think it's just like anything in them tight games.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: I think Wimbledon just scored at the right time.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, I think when they got that stroke after literally 30 seconds, I think I thought, oh gosh, this is gonna be this could be a long day for them.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: But fair play, they stuck to their plan, you know, they kept it really tight.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Um, and then they sort of launched an aerial assault on them, um, to be completely honest.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: And yeah, they got it done, they got goals at the right time, and then I think Serbiton were pretty unlucky with uh you know where the ball fell in them tight moments.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: They had a lot of a lot of ball, but yeah, I mean fair play to them getting over the line, and I think as we say, it's it's good for the game um to get shot results.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: Um, it's why you watch, and yeah, the underdog came through.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and like you said, I think it was it was something that you know Carl Stagno maybe doesn't get enough credit for in how he sets him up, but then also the credit also has to go to the players for for executing the plan.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: You know, I know that um Toby Reynolds Cotchwell had a had a had a big weekend in goal, but also like you already talked about Super Hooper who can flick the ball very hard.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: You know, they they didn't give Serbiton maybe a chance to play their style, which is I guess exactly how you would want to beat Serbiton.
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Um if we move on to the other semi-final, it was OGs versus Hampstead, was I would say uh pretty a pretty decent game, pretty solid performance from us.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: I would say professional would be the right way to put it, yeah, winning 3-1 in the end.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Um, any particular highlights from that game?
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I mean there was a few interesting moments.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: Um Wardie did the old double back stick pass and two wrongs doing fact make a right, and then Jimmy put it in.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Who knows if it was back stick?
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: Some people say it is, some people say it isn't.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: It's on a on a uh it's now on a slow-mo because I should have we should have called him out actually.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: To be fair, the people the um hockey captured, uh hockey focus, a lot of um really, really good photographers uh doing some slow-mos, doing some great film all weekend, which is actually huge for it because I think like we haven't really had this in a in a Premier League finals weekend where you really get the quality that that these guys with the cameras can show.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: And one of the best bits is is the is the Wardy running full pelt, hitting two like double back sticking for for us to score, I think, our third goal in that Hamstead game, which with Hamstead going absolutely mental because we all knew I think that was a that was a back stick.
- 13:07SPEAKER_01: Um was that the game you got your card in?
- 13:11SPEAKER_01: It was Croft Croft.
- 13:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, just to bring in a little bit of fun, was that um Liam Sanford is known to um deliver strong feedback um when he is unhappy, and he tends to be unhappy quite a lot of the time, but in particular for silly, unforced cards, and Crofty decided to try and take on a player, kick it without without really um going at the player, and then hit the ball away, which was always in a green card.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: I was um stood in the middle of the pitch at the time and just saw Sanford creeping up the pitch just so he can scream at Crofty.
- 13:54SPEAKER_00: So I like I've tried a little cut inside, just booted it, and then I don't know why, I've just like nipped the ball away from this lad, and then I've gone, oh no, I've turned around, I've seen Monger just reaching into his pocket, and I was like, Oh my god, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: And then I've run off, I've seen David, and David's just sort of shook his head, David Ames.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: Sorry, he's just shook his head and gone, crufty, and I'm sorry, David.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: And then I I can sense Sandy coming, so I'm like, running head down, please don't look at me, Liam.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: I think you saved me by sort of running over and going, Liam, it's okay, it's okay.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: And then at half time I was just like, Come on, lads, tear me apart.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: Um, but thankfully, I think you uh you calmed him down by that point, so I didn't get my uh my every game spray from Liam.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a small part of the uh of the maybe the stuff that you don't see as much maybe on the stream or or even in the in the crowd is probably the the chat that's going on between players between the umpires.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: Um on to the final.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Like obviously, we we um did yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: We were ready for Serbiton, but it was a surprise package to have Wimbledon and this season we've drew we drew with them twice and we we beat them once.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Um we knew that it wasn't going to be an easy game because of the quality of hockey they were playing, but we managed to come out 3-2 on top after going 2-0 down.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: Um, with Henry Croft scoring the the winning goal.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: Um, if you were to ask where the goals would have come from, Wimbledon are known to score corners and they scored two open play goals.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: We're known to score open play goals and we scored three corners.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: So, um what was your takeaway from that game?
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think when we realised we were playing Wimbledon, I think like part of us was like, okay, like maybe that's better, possibly.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: But then I think a lot of us were actually thinking there was a lot on this game anyway, obviously, but now it's gone from being either K08 and K012 to K08 and KO 16, which for those don't know, you either go straight to K08, which is at Easter, or potentially if you we lost that game, so Wimbledon will have to go to where it was last year in October in round one, right?
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: So it's an extra, extra sort of round you'd have to get through.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: So there was an extra layer of sort of pressure, I suppose.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: Um, and there's also the fact that obviously we've just seen Stagno pull off a little bit of a tactical match cast against Serbon, so he knew they'd have a plan against us.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, then they went two goals up pretty quickly, and we all sort of thought, okay.
- 16:33SPEAKER_00: Um, but then as you say, we stuck in, Henry.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: We did a great little reverse deflection off the corner, and then I think the momentum just carried us through, and yeah, it was nice to get that moment at the end.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: Talk us through the moment.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: Come on, he's got a I think people are really loving this retro old school straight strike from the top of the D.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Um, when someone can hit it as hard as you can, it's pretty terrifying for anyone in the PCD.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: But like, are you do you just love whacking the ball as hard as possible?
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: And when that call comes, how happy are you?
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Actually, no, I'll tell a story first of all.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: I got called a um a flick in the semi-final, I think, or the I don't know where the semi-final or final, and it got run down, it's a reaw.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: Croft's just literally in my ear, a split second afterwards, being like, Can I hit it?
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Can I hit it?
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: Can I hit it?
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Can I hit it?
- 17:24SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Crofty, calm yourself down a bit.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: I'm not making the calls, but yeah, I mean, the goal is is is an unbelievable strike.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: How happy are you to get called the straight strike?
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: It's coming back, you've scored more multiple now.
- 17:38SPEAKER_00: Is it good feeling?
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, as soon as the score gets called, I'm like, oh, here we go.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: And I think in that final, I was pretty wired anyway.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: Like in the warm-up, I was I was striping it, so I thought, oh, good things are gonna happen.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: And then I think it was in the first half, so yours got ran down.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: I was like, Here we go, give me it, give me it, give me it.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: And then I think I laced it into a shin pad and I thought, okay, fine, it's not gonna end by have it that well, like the next one, it's gonna go in, and then I think I don't know, I think Albury just came over and he looked at me and thought, Yeah, pork, here we go.
- 18:11SPEAKER_00: Um, and then I just touched it, I laced it, saw TRC, defected it into the goal, and I just lost it.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: It was fantastic.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: And well, I mean, what do you think this means for this the next season?
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: I I've got I would like to ask a bigger picture, you know.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: We could bask in our glory a little bit.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: And oh, sorry, I will do very quickly the a couple of shout-outs to Dan Shingles and David Ames.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: Um, two people who've uh hung up the stick for uh with club hockey.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: First of all, Dan Shingles, like an incredible servant of the of the game, he's played internationally.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: Um he's played league hockey for Southgate Reading.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: OG's won I want to say five or six titles.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, he's been an incredible player and someone that definitely deserves his applaudits.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Uh David Ames obviously speaks for himself.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: We spoke way too much on this podcast about AMZ, but like what a way to what a way to finish it off, what a way to to finish your career with with a win.
- 19:09SPEAKER_01: Um and he hasn't scored a goal in ten years, and he managed to score in the final, which is just an amazing way to go out.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, on to the coming season.
- 19:18SPEAKER_01: Obviously, Serbiton, you know, it it they can't be looking at themselves thinking they did too much wrong, but it makes it very interesting for next year, no?
- 19:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just just just quickly on on shingles and aimsy, that was also a pretty cool moment for me, like being able to share that with them because I looked up to both of them, you know, as a kid.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: But Ames, especially, he actually coached me when I was um 10 till about 13.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: He said I was a nightmare, I don't believe him, but it was quite cool to uh to yeah, win win win his final title and s send him off into the sunset.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: Um having you know known him and looked up to him all my life, sort of thing.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: So that was pretty cool.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, the Serb Ton, I mean, to be fair, I heard a few of the guys speaking at Bishop, um, and I think they're feeling still pretty good.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: I think you know they're not you know just gonna lose their heads after losing one game because that's all it was, you know.
- 20:09SPEAKER_00: I think they've been saying they're in a very good space, they've got a very good team, very good young team.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, I think they'll just go again, um, and they'll be they'll be very difficult again to uh to look past next year.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: And a couple of I guess let's do a mini awards segment.
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: So who was the who was like let's do a women's player and a men's player of the weekend?
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: Do you wanna I'm I'm gonna give this to you because it's uh it's a nice thing.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Um yeah, women's player of the finals.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: Um I think I'm gonna have to go with Darcy Bourne.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Um she scored in the semi-final and in the final.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: Um, big fan of goal scorers.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Uh, she played very well all season.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: I think she actually finished Prem top goal scorer, so um, I think I think I'm gonna give that one to her, and then men's player of the finals.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: Poor it's pretty.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's a bit of a toss-up between Maz and the Olbs, they've both played really well.
- 21:11SPEAKER_00: Um I'm gonna give it the Mazman just because he's my dad's favourite player.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: Um, at the end of the game, my dad gave me a hug and very quickly ran away and got a picture with Mazzarello.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so I think me and my dad are gonna award James Mazzarello, player of the finals.
- 21:34SPEAKER_01: I'll go for the the goal of the weekend, just in general.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna give it to I think Maddy Axford.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: She scored a lovely reverse stick goal.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: And again, like we have to just go with our bias, don't we?
- 21:45SPEAKER_01: You love goal scorers, I love people who score on the reverse stick.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: She scored a lovely reverse stick.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: I think it was against Durham in the in the semi-final.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, we could do biggest surprise, but I I think I think we know what the biggest surprise was.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: We've already done it that semi-final.
- 22:02SPEAKER_01: Um the bit uh we've already done biggest what are they doing moment was you boot booting the ball away.
- 22:07SPEAKER_01: Horror.
- 22:11SPEAKER_01: Um, is there anything else you want to touch on uh from the finals?
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I I think final thing really is just like I feel like um it is growing.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: Um I feel like that finals.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, I again I was there at Beaston, um, it was a great feel, but I feel like this was another level um compared to what I experienced.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Maybe it's because of it.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: I was a player this time.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Um, but also another massive thanks to all the guys um that were behind the camera, uh, you know, the hockey focused guys, Taggy.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, they did they did some great stuff, um, loads of cool photos, cool clips.
- 22:49SPEAKER_00: Um, I think there's actually a TikTok account that filmed a lot of it.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: I think it's called like UK hockey or something like that.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Apologies if I've not got that right, but that was really cool.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: They filmed loads of the goals, loads of the clips.
- 22:59SPEAKER_00: Um, and I think it's all it's all good and going in the right direction to grow the game, but also grow it in England.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, I'd say that was pretty cool.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: It's uh it's uh actually an excellent wrap-up, to be honest with you.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: I don't feel feel the need to say anything else.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: Um, thank you again for tuning in.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: Thank you, Crofty, for for joining again.
