Full Spectrum Cycling #166 – James Chats About His Project – Wisconsin Bike Week – Lest We Forget · Full Spectrum Cycling

0:00
[upbeat rock music] Good day, everybody. Yep.
0:17
It's Full Spectrum Cycling. Show number 166. Oh. We're JK-less this show. Oh. Understand you went camping in the rain. Well, I predicted that well. [laughs] Sure rained the heck out of down here. Yeah, it did.
0:33
Sitting in for JK today, James Melchor sitting in. Yep, yep. And Tony, of course. Yeah, yeah. Yes, it rained a good steady rain today, which- Hooray for my garden... w- yeah.
0:45
Well, to my surprise, it did not impact the inside of the building as it- It was straight down... as in the past... there was no wind today. It was windy this morning. So that really helped. But yeah.
0:53
I think that really helped. I'm trying to get through the end of May without cutting my grass for No Mow May. Me too, me too. It is, it's a challenge these- Well-... [laughs] last few days here. I'm- Yeah...
1:04
you know, it's supposed to be- Well, especially when yours is full of yard debris from working on a house. Yeah... and what you're gonna mow.
1:09
It's supposed to be, it's supposed to be in the 80s tomorrow and Monday or whatever, towards the end of the month here. Yeah. I don't know. We'll make it. I talked to my neighbor.
1:17
I thought, you know, sh- probably put a sign there that said, you know, we're not just bums. [laughs] But- What are you doing in Whitefish Bay? My neighbor- Well-... no one gives a shit [laughs] right?
1:27
Well, he said, "Uh, I know what you're doing over there. I know what you're doing." Yeah. With that No Mow May thing. That's for the bugs and the bees. Yeah, pollinators. I haven't really seen them much.
1:37
It's been chilly. But, uh, hopefully. We, uh, we're empty nesters. We, uh, had a sparrow build a nest in our bike wreath, Christmas wreath, you know, made out of a bike wheel. Yeah. And then it had four eggs.
1:51
And for the last, like, two weeks, every time we walk out, they're, like, trying to ask us to feed them. And noticed last night that they're all gone and there's no blood or guts or anything, so.
2:01
Maybe they flew the coop. And I just have to say- [laughs] Right... once again, birds aren't real. [laughs] Did you have your Wyze Cam on it? I should've, but I did not. [laughs] What a- It was great. It was great.
2:11
Livestream that. Yeah. I'm surprised- They're not birds, Dawkins... okay, so- They're, they're- We're-... they're spaceships...
2:16
we're, we're still in the podcast room that we've been using, but I moved with, along with moving the shop, I moved all the technology, the routers and everything, over to the other part of the building where the bike shop is taking shape, and I was surprised the Wyze Cams actually reach all the way over here.
2:33
Yeah. That's a long ways. If you look at their signal, I'm sure it's really low, but that doesn't matter. Probably. Yeah, and the, and- They're taking and storing it to memory, and then they're sending it to you. Yeah.
2:41
Well, I can put some SD cards in there, too. Oh, I do. I have SD in all mine, so. Also- Yeah... yeah, the laptop could see it, but it wasn't very- Strong enough, yeah... the phone, no chance. Yeah. So I don't know.
2:52
If we stay up here, we're gonna have to do something to extend the range. Like, just put it on the other side of the wall from where it is or something. Another puck.
3:01
Or another puck, 'cause by cracky, we can't take your phone calls without an internet connection. They get, they get some serious distance on a puck, though. I must say. Looking into it. Yeah, we'll figure it out.
3:15
All righty, uh, we got stuff on the Talk and Smack portion of the show here today for some reason. Mind your stuff. You put stuff on here. Did you? Are you the Meerkat clunker guy? Yeah, did you take a look at that? No.
3:27
[laughs] It is not a clunker. It's their new, like, it's a raffle prize, like, for donating.
3:33
Um, it's a great, I- the link has, like, a lot of great information on it, but it- If there was a link here, I would know that, but. It isn't a link? No. [laughs] Oh. Now, now it is- Okay...
3:42
but it's the wrong link- Sorry... 'cause I just pasted over it. Uh, just, you have a computator right in front of you. Just Google the damn thing. I'm computating Meerkat Clunker Fundraiser from bikepacking.com. Yeah.
3:52
Five bucks a foot Meerkat clunker. Huh. So it's five bucks an entry to try to win it, and I mean, but it is not by any stretch of the imagination [laughs] a clunker. Well, I don't know. It's, it looks like one.
4:07
It's, well, yeah, but it's got King parts on it, and it's got, I mean, it's- But it, it-... um, C, C Pose... uh, it looks like it might be a coaster brake. It doesn't- It's a coaster brake. I agree.
4:16
Well, there you go, then, then it's a clunker. Then it's a clunker. All right. Okay. All right. Well, we'll put the- So any Stingray is a clunker...
4:22
right, and I've got an old Sears copy of a Stingray that I wanna- Clunker... re- I got a 26-inch-... amplify... my dad rode. A Schwinn? Yeah, yeah. Sure. Chicago Schwinn. Is that up in, uh, Oshkosh, by gosh?
4:35
Uh, well, that's where he rode it, um, but I have it in my, my home. Is it ridable? No, it's in parts. We should- I have all the parts to make- It's resurrecting time since we're not really open as a bike shop yet. Yeah.
4:48
We can start resurrecting bikes. Right. Speak, speaking of resurrection, one of, that's one of the other things on that topic is apparently for some reason my daughter's decided she might wanna ride a bike again.
4:57
I don't know what happened, but- I know a Bass Boat purple bike that might be just perfect... she also mentioned that she likes the clunker in black, and I'm like, "Well, we might have one of those at the shop."
5:07
We do have one of those at the shop. I saw that when I walked by. We have two of them at the shop, actually. So I'm gonna have to stop in. I personally, I think she should have the clunker.
5:17
Well, it'll be easier and s- simpler and... Is she just riding it to school and such? To T's Deli, you ask me. Um, school and work at Summer Fest. Oh, you're thinking she should have the purple people pleaser.
5:28
Yeah, yeah. Right on. Well- Bass Boat purple, baby... got rid of the- But yeah, she's gotta ride it and see if it works, you know. For sure. Yeah, we got rid of the, uh, State Bicycles yellow- was it Yellowstone?
5:43
I think it was one of the National Park Edition ones- Mm, mm-hmm... that I actually bought for full price. They didn't have it on, on dealer price at that time. And now they discounted it.
5:51
Well, no, you can get it at normal dealer price. Yeah. But Kenny wanted it, so Mr. Nielsen is now sporting a clunker. He was, he was, he was bargaining with you at the registration for the West 24. I know.
6:03
He was trying to beat me up on the thing. Yeah. I'm just like, "Oh, okay." You know he's kidding. All right. Okay, okay. All right. Okay[laughs] We'll just, we'll just do it. It'd be fun if he came on the show, but nah.
6:13
Well, he's usually gone from this side of town too early in the day. Tough shit, he can come back. On his clunker. Yeah, yeah. Uh, and he has that really cool prototype Trek too that he was riding. Yes. Yes, he does.
6:26
I also have a prototype Trek. That's pretty funny. I guess we do live kinda close to Trek, so I suppose some of those are gonna trickle out the door once in a while. Yeah, well, they will. Yeah.
6:33
I have family that still works at Trek, so- Nice... yeah. [laughs] In the Waterloo, Waterford? Yes, Waterloo. That's, that's my single-speed, glow-in-the-dark. Belt drive. Right on. Yeah. That's it.
6:46
I got a prototype, but it's a Salsa. Oh yeah, that's a cool bike. Yeah. That's a titanium Salsa. I tried to get more information about it, but they're like, "That serial number doesn't exist in our database."
6:55
I'm like, "Oh, I know what happened with that." [laughs] It was kind of a proof of concept sort of a thing. And I think it was a show bike, actually. Hopefully it was made at, uh, Lynskey here- Yeah...
7:06
instead of overseas. Don't know. Fine bike, though. Yeah. Yeah, it's a gorgeous bike, actually. What are we supposed to not forget on Saturday night? Lest We Forget, that's the show at, at, uh, Turner.
7:24
Oh, okay. With the Excleavers and all the other- Oh, gosh. Well, no Terry Tanger- No... no Excleavers in my book... right. It's 3 Excleavers is what they're being called now. Oh. 3 Cleavers.
7:35
Uh, and then, uh, Wanda F- Wanda Cronan, the Pharaohs, and, um... And then they're finishing it out with a band that's, that's out right now, and I'm drawing a mental blank on them.
7:45
Get a lot of air time on WMSC local, obviously. Um, and, you know, properly hard. Um, I, I think they're pretty good. I can't... If you could look that up, we would know, but, uh, it's- I can look it up. Yeah. Yeah.
8:03
It's the, it's the- So, um, John Gaskell's the drummer from the Excleavers, or those Excleavers I should say. Yeah. He lived with a buddy way back in the day, and we had a lot of fun. Nice.
8:15
At, at the place on Oakland Avenue there where, where John Gaskell lived. Where on Oakland was that? Oh, somewhere right around Thomas-ish. He, Bozo, and Otto all lived together. Sherwood area. No. No. Okay.
8:29
Thomas is more down by North Avenue. By, like, the old Red Dot. Oh, okay, okay. Yeah, yeah. All right. Thank you. Just heard of that.
8:37
I remember some very interesting parties, including one where I think s- I don't know if it was Steve Bauer or somebody was doing, like, nitrous and sitting on the upper deck of the porch and just leaned back and fell into the bushes off the second floor.
8:51
[laughs] And was fine. And was like, yeah, like- Nice... walked away from it. Last 12 seconds of his life, you know? Yeah. [laughs] My, my, uh, my brother-in-law once phoned my sister and said, "Hey,
9:04
think I just fell off the roof." She's like, "What do you mean you think?" She's like, "Well." He's like, "Well, I kinda woke up on the ground outside of the house and..." [laughs] Yeah.
9:14
On- So he did a two-and-a-half story drop and- Wow. And didn't even know what was happening? Well, he, he got knocked unconscious and just woke up.
9:25
No one found him [laughs] and he woke up, and I mean, he's a big dude, and he was fine. Wow. Went to the hospital to get x-rays, and his mom happened to be his nurse and sent him home. It's like, "You're walking fine.
9:34
Go home." [laughs] "Not paying for x-rays." Oh, The Crosses, Dan Kubinski. He's Dan from, um, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, yeah, you know. You know those guys.
9:50
I don't see a whole lot of other information about it, but there is a... I'll put it... It's at The Pabst. Hm. We'll, uh, copy that. I'm doing too many things at one time here. And who's the final band?
10:00
I'm drawing a mental blank. It's- Uh, uh, The Crosses. To do, to do more detail, here we go. Live me- Oh, there's a lot. Yeah. Rocket Dials, Three On Fire, Exposed Four Heads is Carter. Yeah.
10:12
That's Carter Honeycutt from- Yes... the old, um... What was their band? Or was he a Cleaver too? No, he wasn't. I don't know. No.
10:20
There's an awful lot of people that have been around an awful long time here, put it that way. Yeah, yeah. Starship Jukebox, Wanda Cronan, The Leather Pharaohs, Johnny and The Losers. That's May 28th, folks.
10:29
That's coming up here tomorrow, I guess. Yeah. Or is that today? I don't know. It's a good show. Oh, it's today. No, it's tomorrow. Tomorrow. I think it's gonna be a pretty good show. Yeah.
10:37
Well, I didn't even- Last night was the Metal Mariachi band at, uh, at Pork Shank Hall. That's still- The world's only metal mariachi... that still seems like something I should see. Metalachi.
10:49
Metalachi- Yeah, Metalachi... I think is their name. Yep. So, um, speaking of music, band stuffy stuff, uh, James is... He's right across in the bike shop down there.
10:59
What are you doing down there in that, in that noise-making area? Well, it's, uh, building yet another version of, uh, this time it's the Sound Factory. What? Speakeasy Sound Factory? Yes.
11:10
Is that the- Speakeasy Sound Factory, that's what we're going with for now until we can get that nice, tight moniker and get everything built... just right. I kind of immediately thought about CNC Music Factory.
11:21
[laughs] Sorry. Right. [laughs] Well, you're old. I know. [laughs] I know. It's, it's true. Well, just, it's always like, at this building, it's like we're on podcast room version 3.0 maybe. Yeah. Probably.
11:35
Bike shop 2.0 just in this building. Yeah. James made a move from the building next door, so yeah. Technically, it's not in this building. It's the building attached to this building that's attached to this building.
11:45
And when you have two and a half square blocks of buildings- Right... I guess you can just sorta say- The building... the space or- Right... whatever.
11:51
But yeah, yeah, so, um- Doing a constant fire drill around these buildings, yeah. [laughs] We, we want you to move over here. We want you to move over there. When the music stops, I better still have a place. Right.
12:02
[laughs] So you're gonna do band practice studios. Yes. And then we're, um, we'll be building in, um... I have a, a partner, a two- Um, he has a bunch of, uh, really nice higher end, um,
12:16
more of the digital side recording equipment, and we're gonna offer some recording services, possibly just, um, even to begin with, uh, a process, uh, called re-amping.
12:28
Um, and that in- just involves, um, we can go with anybody worldwide.
12:33
Uh, all they have to do is send us a raw track file, and we will hook it through our equipment, and then re-record it through a variety of amplifiers and effects,
12:46
send them back the tracks, and, um- It's like post-production music... they can pick which one they like. Yeah. Interesting. Very cool.
12:52
So they can just send a clean guitar signal, doesn't have to be anything special, just accurate, and, uh, we can do the rest, make it s- make you sound like the guitar god that you are. Right. [laughs] I like it.
13:05
Even if you can't afford the guitar god's gear. [laughs] Right. [laughs] Oh, that's pretty cool. So you can like... You can get like, uh, basically any raw recording? What do you use? Uh, um- Yep.
13:18
Just a raw track recording. A DO... Uh, we refer to it more as a DI recording. Okay, okay... direct in. Um- Got it... and then, yeah, we can go from there because, um, we can patch bay through, turn it around.
13:31
We can layer it then if we want. Say if you want a nice big fat greasy Marshall but, you know, still want a little bit of clean Fender, we can do both of them and keep you nice and crispy, too. Crispy. Yes, crispy.
13:46
Yeah, that sounds like it's gonna be an interesting thing, 'cause, uh, actual recording studios around here have just kinda like popped up all over. Right. It seems like they're a dime a dozen anymore.
13:55
It's like at the money some of these places charge, how are they paying the bills? Do they have- Right... benefactors or? Well, s- I know some, some of it is, um,
14:06
a lot of the older gear is getting easier to get ahold of because everything is going more digital. And then on the digital note, everything's getting a whole lot cheaper. Yeah. Right.
14:17
I, I m- I've seen some of the old school big boards for really inexpensive. I just still think that it's the tactileness of a big board is great versus just twiddling mouse knobs and stuff. Right. Yeah.
14:29
I still prefer to, you know, push the buttons, turn the knobs, and, and fiddle with the, with the buses, you know. But, uh- So I've been, uh...
14:39
I'm slightly changing the subject, but I've been looking at like, you know, the technology for the new house as far as audio, and I was really...
14:47
I got a just like a random email from Crutchfield, and I saw a pair of Klipsch speakers. Now, obviously Klipsch is not what they used to be, but- There's still some of the b- better speakers out there for the price...
14:57
yeah, they, they have a, a very reasonably priced set of speakers that have a f- uh, an analog amplifier built in to one of the speakers. So you can basically just plop a turntable down
15:15
and play, so it's so minimalistically cool- Nice... that it's just literally two really nice looking Klipsch speakers and your turntable. And it also has a USB input, and I... It might have Bluetooth.
15:29
And I, I'm telling you, these were very... I mean, these were sub-$500. So- That seems pretty inexpensive... I'm like, that seems pretty reasonable if you want like a, a room.
15:38
But then I started going down a rabbit hole and found there's another company that makes a, a very similar system but it offers, um, multi-room. Yeah. That's what I'm...
15:47
I would definitely look at Sonos unless- I mean, that's... This was very similar, yeah, but-... unless you, I mean, you may go slightly broke with it, but there's...
15:55
I've been using it since the first Play:1 came out, and they sound super awesome. And being able to play something in your bedroom, in your living room, on your deck all different- Mm-hmm... or all together, either way.
16:09
Yeah. It's, it's been pretty cool. Hey, look at that. [bell ringing] That conversation got us to the top of the hill. Oh, boy. [laughs] Well, on a kinda... [laughs] JK didn't bring any beer this week. Thank you, JK.
16:24
You're still scoffing. 'Cause he's not here. Um, Tony ran over to Amorphic, which is, again, very close by here, and- It's gonna be the go-to beer, I'm gonna guarantee it... gonna be pretty much the go-to beer.
16:35
It doesn't- Especially when we move downstairs... it doesn't affect me as much as going to Black Husky, plus they're not right- Yeah... across the street anymore. Yeah. So you got a Fluffy Gem, which is my...
16:45
was kinda my go-to beer over there. It, it is my go-to beer there. 6.3 Hazy IPA. They do several different versions of IPAs over there, so if you- And doubles and- Yeah, the double dry hopped one-...
16:57
triple dry hopped and... is really good. Amorphic is right on the corner of Nash and Fratney if you're visiting the neighborhood, and you could probably string together five breweries within about three miles of here.
17:07
Yeah. [laughs] In a, in a, in a 4.5 mile River West 24 lap, how many can you hit? One, two, three, four. At least four. At least four. Five if you- I mean, this one's- Lakefront, two...
17:19
a, a- Amorphic could be slightly off the, the course. Yeah, so is Gathering Place, but that's technical... but, but, yeah, then you could do, yeah, one, two, Company, Black Husky, Lakefront. Five. Yeah.
17:31
You, you could- Five within a stone's throw- Yeah... some sort of. I mean- Well, that's River West for you, folks. We drink beer here apparently. [laughs] I, uh... Speaking of the River West, I might have
17:41
potentially, you know, shot myself in the foot here by, uh, challenging Strongman Sam to do 100 miles in the River West 24. Oh, sounds good.
17:51
He claims he's never done more than 25, which of course I know he has because he's ridden to here and back, and that's damn near- Well, you've got, you've got 24 hours to do it. Right. That's what I told him. You know?
18:02
That's what I told him. It's like doing RAGBRAI. You're doing 70, 80 miles a day, but you got all day to do it. Right. And then they always throw a 100-miler in there just so you can get your century. You know, I-
18:13
You, you can do it I'm not, I'm not. You can do it I haven't ridden very much, so. Are you afraid? Are you gonna use your electric bike? Uh, maybe. [laughs] Maybe for one or two laps, but- Are you not, are you getting...
18:23
You- you're gonna get timed, right, cheater? Yeah, no, I'm not gonna use my electric bike. All right. Thank God. I have to... Matter of fact, I don't have a bike ready for it yet, but I will get one.
18:34
Hey- I might just run the mountain bikes... hey, here's something interesting. You know how school yards you can't ride your bike? Yeah. They might be, uh, lifting that ordinance.
18:42
It's in front of the alderfolks to- Nice... lift the ordinance of riding your bicycle on a playground, and I think that's a good idea. Yeah. I did it even when it wasn't legal.
18:50
[laughs] I'm just wondering how it became an ordinance anyway, you know? Some poor kid ran into some wealthy kid's and parents sued or something. Yeah. You know? Gonna take that, yeah.
19:03
Starting next week, it's Bike Week in the state of Wisconsin. Mm. Oh. I don't know what happens on Bike Week, but there- Is it any different than any other week in Wisconsin for me? Well, I mean, it's a- For you...
19:13
it's one where you can go ride with the mayor and do some other things that are- Oh... a little more bikey-ish. There's a website. If you're gonna be in Milwaukee June 4th through the 11th, then you can check that out.
19:23
Right. And I imagine Bike Fed will be a little bit more noisy- Yeah, yeah... for a little bit. For sure. They're the ones, the Bike Fed they are, they're the ones that set this up somehow.
19:32
Sites.google.com, uh, they didn't really do their forwarding very well. They need some techy person over there. Yeah. They actually need- I'm not volunteering, [laughs] though. They, they, they- No... me, I did.
19:45
I used to vol- I used to do some of their tech work, but the one thing they really need to do, and sorry, Jake, but you are the most boring human on their commercials on 88f- [laughs]... on WMSU.
19:56
He's- You've gotta get someone else to do those recordings, 'cause oh, man, you put me to sleep. He can come in on the podcast room and- I love Jake. He's a great guy... learn how to be dynamic like Tony Yeah.
20:06
He's just like, dude, put a little gusto into it. Yeah. I mean, have a little fun with it. You're talking about bikes. [laughs] Yeah. So I don't remember who was just talking about our sh- our show.
20:20
Somebody talked about our show. Really? They were in Minneapolis, and apparently, some of the QBP guys like our show, and I don't even know- That's a lie... I don't even know who we know up there anymore- That's a lie...
20:30
at the Q mothership. I'm not sure who's, who's [laughs] besides Paul Ziegel and who, I don't know who- I can't believe anyone listens to our podcast.
20:38
[laughs] Well- It is kinda funny, once in a while I get a message from, like, Hashky. He's like, "That was a really great podcast," or Dan in Madison, Dan Hyack. I'm like, I'm like, "Wow, people actually listen." Yeah.
20:50
Which is weird. Amazing, isn't it? It... Yep, yep, yep. Well, thanks, thanks folks for listening, and shout out to the QBP crew up there in- Post a note... Bloomington. We need to know whose you are. Right?
21:01
You can always call in. We don't say this often- That's right... enough. You can call 717-727-2453. That spells bike. That spells bike. And leave us a, a message on the old, uh, voicemail, and
21:14
I can actually just insert that right in the show like, "Here's Hootie Hootie Hottohoo- Yeah... talking to us and saying some, some, some." Right.
21:24
Sort of like calling in, but you don't have to do it at 7:00 PM on a Wednesday evening. Yeah. Right. Good idea. Um- Hey, guess what? This thing, this Roadcaster that we use for our... They're making a version two now.
21:37
It's- Smaller? It's one better than this one. Well, that's great. No, I think it's about the same size. It looks a little fancier, colored knobs, little thing.
21:44
I, I don't know that technically it's gonna have to be this... It's the same price as this one was when this was new, so. There you go. I, I'm a, but I'm a gear junkie, so [laughs]-- Yeah.
21:57
If that thing's eyeballing me for too long, I don't know. [laughs] I'd have to just, uh- Punt this one down the road? Well, I don't know. I'd- You can get, you can get a decent amount for that one though still.
22:08
It's still relevant. Yeah, that's true. And- I'll give you 10 bucks right now... all right. Sold. Thanks for Kennying the heck out of me on this thing. Yeah, right. Oh, Kenny's name. He's, his ears have gotta be ringing.
22:20
[laughs] Uh- That's just tinnitus... what else we got on this thing? [laughs] Oh, um, I, I keep meaning to get Chris Wiggins from The Psychic Derailer on our show.
22:30
Hi, Chris, if you're listening, which I'm sure you're not, but if you are, thank you. Uh, I, he's- It's been a while. Yeah, he was a good guest, and he, um, moved to Florida- Oh, wow...
22:42
and is in Naples and has a bike shop of some description down there, and I'm... Uh, he basically, I think, moved at the beginning of the pandemic, actually- Ooh... or during it even.
22:52
And I'm just kinda curious because he's done a lot of content creation, writing blog posts and things that we used to do that worked pretty well, and he has a YouTube channel and stuff, and I'm,
23:06
like, kinda curious how it's going for him, so probably have to give him a shout. But hey, Chris, read your post about your new... about home. He was talking about growing up in Illinois and blah, blah, blah,
23:18
and Indiana, where he was a bike guy for 21 years. Yeah. But- I just don't get the Florida thing, but okay. Yeah, well, I'm just, as- Yeah. I can't do Florida, man.
23:27
Since we, [laughs] since we haven't really been, you know, a bike shop per se for quite a while, I'm like, "Well, how can we keep this place open and still have cool bike stuff going on when,
23:38
mm, don't actually have a bike shop right this second?" [laughs] Well, we could always have a little shindig at the shop since we're right next to- Shindig at the Shop. That's a-...
23:45
uh, since we're right next to each other, a little chilling- I like that... a little grilling. I like that idea of the name of Shindig at the Shop.
23:50
Oh, yeah, that, uh- That said, we did, we sold a, we got a state bike, besides Kenny's. We got, we got a few bikes down the road actually, so. Oh, that's cool. And we have bikes for people- Any more-...
23:58
to ride, which you can come and buy from us. Any more Zize bikes g- uh, getting worked on? We're doing some electric conversions again. Okay, I gotta bring in the laptop. My apologies. Yes.
24:08
We, well, we don't really use it for the Bafang too much, but. Okay. But we, it would be nice to have it here if you don't need it. And-
24:15
We're also d- they get, you know, f- because the vast majority of their bikes are sold online, although they are in REI now,
24:23
which is kinda cool, um, if, uh, i- if they sell them online and they're the wrong size or if there's, something happens to them during shipping or whatever, we end up with them, and then we just take parts and f- make a good bike out of what may not have been.
24:38
Really? We call them, uh, recycled bikes- Oh... cleverly enough. Right. So we have, like, a dozen of those to do, too. Just over the last year, they kind of sat in a warehouse, and now they're here and we can- Oh...
24:49
we can make some, some- That's fun... and they go for a good chunk of change off what they normally go for, so.
24:56
You might find that interesting if you're into the, uh, size bike scene, which is specifically made for heavier people who are getting active again. Like Sam. Yeah, kinda. He's just a big guy, though.
25:08
He's over 300 pounds. Yeah. So he's- He's limited on his bike selections... he's still an athlete though. No, he's big. [laughs] He's a big guy. I mean... [laughs] He's a very large man. True that. He's- All right.
25:17
Well, uh- I, I think the word is, uh, s- more sedentary. He- A little less active than you want to be again... yeah, no, he's definitely not that. He- Yes... he's definitely not that. Yeah. Yes. He's a m- Yeah.
25:28
He's, he's been riding. I haven't been riding, so I know. But anyway. He's got a challenge that I guess Dave, who? Dave Zart? Dave Zwart. Dave Zwart. Dave Zwap. Dave Zwart. Dave Zwap. Yeah. Zwart.
25:41
[laughs] He did the challenge that Sam has. We gotta have him call in or come and talk to about this.
25:46
It's, uh, he, you gotta ride his Monocog, you gotta do this trail, this, this run, and it's timed, and I guess the best is 40 minutes, and- Who's Monocog? Sam's. Oh, okay. I'm like, "I can't ride your Monocog, dude.
26:00
You're a giant." Yeah. [laughs] Well, Dave's a pretty tall guy, too. Yeah. Actually, Zwart should be on the show. Zwart should also be on the show. Come on the show, Dave. Yeah. Maybe we'll catch up with him at the 24.
26:10
[laughs] By cracky, that's not very far away, come to think of it. Oh. It's the end of July. 56 days. And I can't believe it's the end of freaking May already. 56.
26:16
I'm not happy with how quickly days are flying by, and the, [laughs] the lack of progress on stuff. [laughs] It's like, oh man- Like, I remember-... another week went by...
26:25
last year when I did, you know, 100 pushups a day for May. I haven't done 100 pushups this May. For the entire month? Yep. Good call. Yep. Yep. So I did great that time. I remember that challenge.
26:37
That was, uh, that was rough. Yeah, mine was to get to the point where you're doing 100 in a row. Yep. And that takes, like, 400 a day or better, 'cause you gotta kind of- That... yep, do a bunch of reps and stuff. Yeah.
26:48
Nope, nope, not this guy. Well, speaking of reps, we'll repeat ourself next week, folks. Thanks for listening and, um, have yourself a nice day. Speak at you next week. Or evening if you're listening to it then.
27:00
Yeah, or morning if you're taking a bath. Or whenever. Right. Or on the bus. I've never listened to this in a bath. [laughs] Bye. Bye.
27:07
[upbeat music] [laughs]
