- 0:00Welcome, welcome, welcome. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages. It is
- 0:09a Monday evening and you are in the right place. I'm Cody Decker.
- 0:13I'm Tanya Ray Fox.
- 0:15And this is The Regulars.
- 0:16I just realized I still have an AirPod in, so we're taking that out.
- 0:19That's weird. That's a weird move on your part. God, you are so disheveled and out of
- 0:22it today, which is just a fact. We both actually are. It's overcast here in Los Angeles, California.
- 0:27It was a weird kind of day and after kind of a weird weekend. And listen, I'm drinking
- 0:32wine now because I feel better about it.
- 0:34We kicked the weekend off well. We had a we had a meal after the show on Friday. Everything
- 0:40was going well for I don't know what happened to the both of us over the weekend. We arrived
- 0:43at Monday not.
- 0:44Dude.
- 0:45Not well.
- 0:46Dude, what a what a weekend it was. But yeah, you ain't lying. We kind of on the struggle
- 0:49bus today. But listen, we got a lot to cover today. We have things that are really fun
- 0:54to cover today. We have, which is actually somewhat rare on this show.
- 0:57Yeah, it actually is somewhat rare. I think we like might not be talking about like any
- 1:02horrible politics. Well, we will not have topics that are centered around that. We will
- 1:07probably we will definitely be throwing barbs multiple times because, you know, Stephen
- 1:11Miller does suck and he sadly does exist and sadly is your former high school classmate.
- 1:17Yes, he is. Yes, he is. And I very, very I often apologize to everyone I possibly can
- 1:22that I did not beat the liver living hell out of it. Here's the truth about Stephen
- 1:25Miller. We just all thought he was going to like be a crazy person in a sanitarium by
- 1:30the time which is what everyone says about everybody in that, like all of those people
- 1:34who are in the administration, everybody that went to high school with them or knew them
- 1:38when they were younger or went to college with them, they their same thing is always
- 1:41like we just thought he was just like kind of a loser.
- 1:44No one took serious. None of us took him seriously. He tried to make himself out of some political
- 1:48figure in high school and we just maddeningly made fun of him incessantly. He tried to run
- 1:54for class president, not sorry, class treasurer. He had to be removed from the stage. We all
- 1:59booed the living hell out of him because his speech was shocking, racist. And yeah, I hate
- 2:05Stephen Miller. I hate him more now than I did before. I hate that he now shaves his
- 2:09head because daddy looks good with a bald head and he looks like Nosferatu.
- 2:14It's genuinely actually, I, now that I realize you guys are exactly the same age. So, and
- 2:21that is the side by side shot of the two of you is he quite literally looks 15 years.
- 2:27I'm not going to lie to you. I don't know why Nosferatu Goebbels has been aging the
- 2:31way he is, but I have some ideas. I have some evil ages you. Yeah. Well, you know, it's
- 2:36so funny because every time I post something on my Instagram where I'm like going to bat
- 2:41for a single marginalized person, cause God forbid, you know, like for a lot of people
- 2:44seeing a white blonde woman go to bat for anybody. Yeah. It's really surprising. And
- 2:50so like a lot of my comments will be like, damn, like that's, you know, and, and people
- 2:54are really grateful, which obviously I feel great about, but also it's a little depressing
- 2:58that people are so shocked to even see somebody that looks like me, like stand up for anybody.
- 3:03But a lot of times they're like, I can tell when people aren't horrible racists cause
- 3:08their skin has a little glow to it. You know, they're like, this is why you look pretty
- 3:11good girl. And I'm like, thank you. Thank you so much. It's me. It's that. And Andrea
- 3:15Fox is a jeans. Well, yes. Mama Fox is just, it's just a baller. I mean, I would give credit
- 3:22to Pete, Pete Fox, but he's been dead for a minute. So I don't know how he would have
- 3:27aged. He still looked pretty good at four. I'll admit Jay Decker was not looking his
- 3:30best towards the later years. I'll freely admit that. But then again, he never, in my
- 3:34opinion ever looked at my dad. My dad was kind of hot. I'll see my dad. Mine wasn't.
- 3:38That's when I see and look in the mirror. I, all I see is Jay Decker staring back at
- 3:41me. Oh, it's brutal. I'm a big Terry guy. Terry, Terry, my mother is an attractive lady.
- 3:47My father was, I don't know what she saw in that guy. You got Terry, you got, you're,
- 3:52you're all Terry, my guy. It's nice of you. And I'm going to show you a photo of Jay.
- 3:55You're like, yeah, nevermind. I think I saw him on your Instagram on your, cause you had
- 4:00a threads post from, um, like I think, cause I haven't posted enough on the top of it.
- 4:05No, that was my first time seeing your dad. Oh really? Yeah. Yeah. He wasn't, he wasn't
- 4:08a looker. What are you going to do? Not all of us can be lookers. Anyways, we got lots
- 4:12to cover. Not all of us can have a WNBA teams either. Oh no, no, no. And that is a phenomenal
- 4:17and I do mean this phenomenal transition to our first headline, Tanya. Okay. Um, the WNBA
- 4:25relocation of the Connecticut suns is a controversial at best. That's it's just not being received.
- 4:32Well, for a lot of reasons, uh, we talked about it slightly just when the news broke
- 4:36on, um, I believe it was on Friday, but since then it's kind of, you know, it's a big conversation
- 4:44on basketball and I didn't realize, I didn't realize it was, I get moving out of Connecticut,
- 4:48which I do feel bad for the fans of Connecticut during this time because the WNBA is absolutely
- 4:53booming.
- 4:54So to remove a team from a city literally as the boom is taking place does suck. When
- 5:00I heard the news, I will freely admit Houston made a lot of sense to me. Right? I think
- 5:05probably because you're lacking the context of what's been going on. I'll give you, I'll,
- 5:09I'll fill everybody in just quickly on kind of what some of the things that have thrown
- 5:13people for a loop. So this was being talked about last year. So this has been ongoing.
- 5:19The WNBA reportedly blocked two higher offers of $325 million from investment groups that
- 5:25intended to keep the team in the Northeast. Um, there was the Boston bid led by a Celtics
- 5:30minority owner, Steve Pelluca, who proposed moving the team to Boston and included a hundred
- 5:35million dollar investment in new practice facility, which is something that has been
- 5:39a critique of the current Connecticut sun. Yes. Um, and then there was a Hartford bid
- 5:43from the former Milwaukee bucks owner, Mark Lassery, who sought to move the franchise
- 5:48to Hartford, Connecticut.
- 5:49I mean, that makes more sense. The fact that they would keeping him in Connecticut and
- 5:52going to Hartford. Hartford does have like a brand new double a stadium. That's really
- 5:55beautiful and they've lost the whalers. Like, you know, just like getting a new team there
- 6:00would be great, but I mean, keeping them in Connecticut. Okay. Connecticut is a very small
- 6:03state moving from where they are at Hartford. Not that big of a deal. By the way, uh, you
- 6:07bring up the whalers most elite logo, in my opinion, maybe sports. Yeah. Iconic. Can't
- 6:13believe it's like whenever I see Hartford whalers like gear, I genuinely wonder why
- 6:18someone hasn't picked that up. I couldn't, couldn't agree more of all. And I mean, in
- 6:22every sport, not just basketball, hockey, it's just every sport. It's one of the greatest
- 6:27sports. Yeah. Or all, all sports. Um, so here's the deal. You think like, okay, the, the sun
- 6:33have played a couple of games at the Boston garden. Boston's ravenous for a team. Um,
- 6:38the, the games at the garden have been insane. I think it was, it's it, they played at least
- 6:42one. I think they play a couple either way. They are going to play in, um, another couple
- 6:47games there, this as their like farewell tour. Um, the WNBA as a league has asserted
- 6:53that the relocation decisions are made by the board of governors, not individual teams
- 6:57and that cities like Houston, which participated in the recent expansion process had priority
- 7:01over Boston. So they're saying, well, they were looking for an expansion team and Boston
- 7:07wasn't like actually, uh, on the high end of consideration for expansion.
- 7:12So we wanted to prioritize Houston. What people are saying is that there are like,
- 7:19so the board of governors, from my understanding is mostly just Adam silver and Adam silver
- 7:30has a reason to maybe sell a team to specific people like Tillman for Tita in Texas, rather
- 7:37than the bidders in Massachusetts. Now, the fact that they were the, the other bids were
- 7:43going to be worth more than what the team actually ended up selling for. This is taking
- 7:49a team and this has screwed the Mohegan sun owner, current owners, the indigenous casino
- 7:58that owned it's it's screwing them out of money. There's really the only winners here.
- 8:04It's not the Connecticut sun. It's not the WNBA fans in the Northeast. It's definitely
- 8:07not the Mohegan sun. It's not any of these people. It's just Tillman for Tita. That's
- 8:11really it. I'm happy for Houston fans again, but like, it just, it's hard. It's, it's a
- 8:16very bitter pill to swallow. Um, the Connecticut ag in 2025 actually expressed concerns that
- 8:24the league may be, might be wrongfully blocking sales, um, in a manner that was anti-competitive
- 8:30and potentially violated state or federal laws. There's been valuation disputes on the
- 8:35team. So this is it's dirty business from the WNBA after a great win with the coming
- 8:42to terms on the CBA with the players. It is more shenanigans. Like you and I have been
- 8:47kind of critical of Adam Silver of late. He sort of seems to be, he's having a rough go.
- 8:53It's weird. Cause you're not wrong. He seemingly has seemingly lost the plot. It's kind of
- 8:57come in conjunction of, we talked about it a lot on Friday, specifically about his new
- 9:01anti tanking ideas of which the best one we found at best maybe was a C if I were getting
- 9:07a letter grade. Um, this is a guy that for years was the bell of the ball. I think when
- 9:13it comes to actual, I don't know, commissioners and their respective leagues. Yeah. He was,
- 9:17he was very at the forefront of player empowerment, which was a very big thing at the time. Uh,
- 9:22he was at the forefront of a lot of these sets and now seemingly his, I wouldn't say
- 9:27blase attitude cause I don't think he was ever blase, but the amount of power he gave
- 9:31to players seemingly has diminished his own power, which has now led to him in my opinion,
- 9:39making rash decisions. Yeah. And it's, I mean, rash, definitely a bad decision. Rash, probably
- 9:46not. This seems quite calculated. Yes. However, you're right. Like there is just a lot of
- 9:51um, there's a lot of catering to specific billionaires situation here. And I, I think
- 9:59that like anything that leads to stealing tens of millions of dollars in potential profit from
- 10:07the indigenous folks in Connecticut who like any, that, that just doesn't feel good to me.
- 10:12Feels like maybe we didn't have to do that. Um, and there's a real concern with me,
- 10:18why someone like Adam silver and, and just the, the board of governors and the WMB in general
- 10:26wouldn't want a team in new England. Um, it's like a very odd choice to be a professional league
- 10:34right now with no team in new England. I understand what you're saying, but can I ask,
- 10:39can I ask a follow up? Cause you mentioned the amount of money for the, they want to put in for
- 10:42the practice facility. And we're talking to an investment of a hundred million dollars,
- 10:46getting them over to Boston. All of it actually makes a lot of sense to me.
- 10:49But what exactly is the investment opportunity that's being put forth by say Houston right now
- 10:54to counteract that? Is there a larger investment being made by Houston that got them to quote,
- 10:59unquote win the bid? Or do you think this is just as dirty behind the scenes as you think?
- 11:03I mean, yeah, like I don't, I think that they'll probably get just as good facilities and I don't
- 11:07think that it would be a downgrade on that front because they are going to invest. Um,
- 11:12the, the bid itself being a little bit lower is a little odd. Um, and realistically it's more about
- 11:19like, where are you looking to build your markets? Right? Like you just wrenched a team from one of
- 11:26the biggest sports markets in the country. And now you're not that Houston's not a great market,
- 11:32but you've also, you have a team in Dallas, right? Like there's, it's sort of like what is
- 11:37Houston and Dallas aren't exactly the closest of cities.
- 11:41No, but now the closest team to new England is New York. Like you're not going to get,
- 11:45you're not getting new England, like basketball fans who are ravenous sports fans,
- 11:50you're not getting the root for the fucking New York team.
- 11:52It is kind of wild to me that there isn't a team in Boston of, of all the cities,
- 11:56which is like fine. And it's like fine because they did have the sun, you know? And, but it's,
- 12:01it's all, I don't know. It's, it's a frustrating, um, turn of events that I, I feel like looks
- 12:11once again, like the WNBA has not divested itself from NBA shenanigans in a way that
- 12:17like WNBA fans have been clamoring for. Like we, we really need them out from underneath
- 12:22whatever it is that Adam Silver's plan is. And because he's doing enough to try to script the
- 12:27NBA. Yes. The WNBA is on an uprise and this just feels odd. Do I want the comments to succeed?
- 12:34Do I want Houston WNBA fans to be happy? Absolutely. Of course. Do I think it's good
- 12:38for elite, for any professional sports league to not have a team in Boston? No, the NWSL just put
- 12:44a team in Boston. The MLS have a team in Boston, every major men's, you know, has a team in legendary
- 12:52teams. Right. So it just, that to me is just on its own. The first thing I think is like,
- 12:59why don't you, why aren't you prioritizing this? What's about, what about this is making you
- 13:04so uncomfortable? Uh, it seems like it's because Tillman Fertitta is not there. I don't know. Um,
- 13:11staying in basketball world, we'll go to headline number two, which is that, uh, the NBA finals
- 13:17odds currently speaking, I guess we're saying a new England NBA odds currently highly favor the
- 13:23Celtics to come out of the East. I looked at all of the, um, sports books. It's anywhere from the
- 13:28second to third highest in the league. Some people have them over the spurs as a higher odds,
- 13:33but some, mostly it looks like it's, it's thunder spurs. And then the Celtics,
- 13:38they got their 50th win on Sunday night, uh, with their win over the young and hot
- 13:44Charlotte Hornets squad. So, um, and Jason Tatum's player of the week for the East,
- 13:50they have clinched a playoff spot in there. It looks like they're probably all, but locked up
- 13:54the two seed. Yes. And so my, so we're kind of at a point right now where people are starting to say
- 14:00that like the Celtics are pretty obviously the favorite to come out of the East. I saw Michelle
- 14:05Beatle say this on Beatle and Decker. No, no, no. She has not been quiet about this. And I don't
- 14:10think anyone should be quiet about this. The moment Jason Tatum came back and immediately
- 14:14showed, Oh shit. He's still Jason Tatum, despite the injury and coming back. The fact that it came
- 14:20back as soon as he did at the way he did. And especially with the bullshit, the absolute
- 14:25bullshit narrative is like, well, it's no longer Jason Tatum's team. Shut up. It is Jason Tatum's
- 14:29team. And where are we? It's just that Jalen Brown's even better now. I'm about to say like,
- 14:33it's such the weirdest thing that everyone's trying to create some narrative that Jalen
- 14:37Brown's mad that he's getting Jason Tatum back. Yeah. It's not even close to me, especially with
- 14:42Cade Cunningham still being a question Mark at this moment. Now I don't know what they're saying
- 14:46that Cade's going to likely be back for playoffs, but I still think about it going. Yeah. That's
- 14:49still a collapsed lung. We're talking about just even before, even before Cade's injury,
- 14:55there were questions about whether or not this, this Pistons could beat the Celtics in a, in a
- 14:59series, especially different thing. Once you get to the playoffs, you're talking about experience
- 15:03and whatever else. So do you just take that all, you know, even had Cade not gotten hurt,
- 15:07we'd still be talking about the Celtics as being potentially the team that could take down a team
- 15:11like the Pistons or whatever else. So a Tim Bond Thompson, he was talking about this on the hoops,
- 15:15collective podcast. And his thing is that they have title experience. They've all been there
- 15:18and they've all done it. He said, none of these other teams in the East here. And I'm picking
- 15:22them right now to win, uh, to win the East because they're not, they're not an unassailable favor,
- 15:28but they don't have no other team has this level of, of high caliber playoff experience.
- 15:34Haven't been played in the title game. So, and they're rolling, they've got their best player
- 15:38back. They've, they've got a guy who's been playing at an MVP level all season at this
- 15:44point. So this is my question for you, Cody curated a question just for you at this point,
- 15:50are the Celtics a disappointment if they don't make the finals or is the East, the bigger
- 15:55disappointment for not presenting a clear favorite outside the Celtics in a year where
- 16:00there was supposed to be, it was supposed to be their gap. Let's be real clear. You're right about
- 16:02the gap year. You're right about somebody at least not stepping up. I'm very disappointed.
- 16:06One particular team that I will get to in just a second. I think I can guess it. Go ahead.
- 16:10The Knicks. What the fuck Knicks. This was your chance. This was legitimately your chance.
- 16:14They're still technically in it. I know that, but I don't, I, I'm not a believer to believe in them.
- 16:19I'm not a believer because Jalen Brunson doesn't care if you don't believe me. I agree. No, no.
- 16:23Brunson's like that guy. Knicks fans were dreaming of for years and years and years. And,
- 16:26and listen, that's that city. Trust me. I just moved back to Los Angeles from New York city.
- 16:30That city hates a big man on the Knicks more than any city I've ever known. They ran Julius
- 16:36Randall's ass out of town. They're trying to do it to cat right now, which is, you know,
- 16:40which by the way, poor cat, I've been lucky enough to hang out and work out and chill with
- 16:44cat a few times. He's so nice. There's like literally nothing wrong with him. He's adorable.
- 16:52Like I fucking love him, him and his girlfriend. I've, I've gotten to hang out with them. They're
- 16:56so fucking nice. Um, anyways, uh, Knicks are a massive disappointment. I honestly,
- 17:03the way I see it, the Boston should do this, but I also feel like the East is a little bit more
- 17:08wide open. Now I do think it's three teams and then everybody else, unless we think Cleveland
- 17:13is going to do it. But I know James Harden and what he does in may not a goddamn thing.
- 17:17So that's a very much a, like, we do not owe you our belief in not one second. Feel free to prove
- 17:24us all wrong, but it does feel like it's, it's the Celtics are the favorite right now. And then
- 17:29it's like the pistons and the Knicks could knock on the door depending on how things go. But like,
- 17:33could the Raptors kind of sneak in? I don't think so, but like, no, I mean, it's, it's pretty
- 17:38clearly like, those are kind of the most obvious options. So you're thinking that like the East
- 17:44should have stepped up, but they didn't, they didn't. And the West is still the juggernaut
- 17:49West. But at the end of the day, this is the Celtics. It's the same. It's, it's Joe Missoula.
- 17:52It's, it's a Brad built team. It's they've got Jason Tatum back. No, it's not the team that
- 17:57went to the title, but they've got some core pieces from the title run. So would you think
- 18:01it was a disappointment if they, if in this field, they don't make it to the finals?
- 18:04Yes, but I'm also giving them a little leeway for something you already said earlier. And it's
- 18:08simply this, this was supposed to be their gap year. Now we're talking about their gap year.
- 18:12It's a disappointment if they don't make it to the finals. I'm not ready to go ahead and do that.
- 18:16You're more hard on the East. You're like, you guys should have stepped up. No, the East is
- 18:19honestly forget the Celtics being the East is a disappointment. The East has been a disappointment
- 18:24year in year out. It's been a disappointment for all of the 21st century. Like, I mean,
- 18:27it's genuinely been tough to like, yeah, you've had like spurts with the heat with the Celtics,
- 18:32with the calves, with LeBron. It's been like, if LeBron's on a team, there's a good team in the
- 18:37East. And then if the Celtics are good, there's a good team in the East. And that's like really it.
- 18:41And I'm not ready to give excuses out for any of the teams in the East because look how quickly
- 18:44the Spurs just rebuilt themselves into what they are a legitimate, a legitimate juggernaut.
- 18:49And look what the Thunder did. Like, I mean, there are ways to get yourselves out of these slumps. So
- 18:54I, I would tend to think I would tend to blame the East more, but there is a part of me and I am a
- 19:00Celtics fan, but I'm also, I'm also not an idiot and I can like have a normal conversation, but
- 19:07there is a part of me that's like, damn, well, now that you guys are here, you have the experience,
- 19:12you have the edge, Jason Tatum, you're supposed to be a generational player.
- 19:16What makes you generational? What, what are, what are the things that you do that make you somebody
- 19:22who's like next level? Do you help your team get to a finals in a year where you weren't supposed to
- 19:28winning a finals? Hell no. I have no expectation of anybody in the East winning an NBA finals.
- 19:34I agree as well. My other question for you that I did want to ask you while we're on this is
- 19:38what potential NBA files matchup would be the most intriguing to you?
- 19:42Lakers Celtics. 100%. I understand that it's a chock. It's a chalky thing in old school,
- 19:47but I feel like a Lakers Celtics matchup needs to happen once a decade. It just does. And we
- 19:53haven't had it in how, what 15 years, 20 years. Yeah. It's been a while. So yeah,
- 19:58I would love to see another Lakers Celtic matchup. I would also be, it would be, um,
- 20:03Luca re rematching with the Celtics. Oh yeah. And that'd be awesome. And if we don't get that,
- 20:07which by the way, I don't think we're getting that. I'd like to get that, but I'm having a
- 20:11lot of trouble. I don't know how they beat the Spurs. I don't know how they beat Oklahoma city.
- 20:16And I'm also worried if they get paired up and have to take on Minnesota in the playoffs as well.
- 20:20That is something that really does worry me. I don't know why people keep forgetting about them.
- 20:24They've been back to back-to-back Western finals. They were very close to their hunger
- 20:32and they're really well coached. So yeah, that's a, that's a, that would be a really tough draw
- 20:37early. So there's that. And there's also like the Denver nuggets. I know they're not as good
- 20:41as they normally are, but I know what Joker does to the Lakers every May. I have had the
- 20:45misfortune of watching it by the way. He was the Western conference player of the week this week.
- 20:53Have you seen his fucking numbers? Yeah. I'm going to, in case you guys haven't seen his
- 20:58numbers for this, I'm going to read them. He's most under the radar, fucking unbelievable guy.
- 21:03Chris said to me the other day, he's like, cause we were talking about the MVP and he's like,
- 21:06I don't know, man. Like it, Yoko is having like an insane season, even for Yoko. And I'm like,
- 21:11okay, Chris, I look at his numbers for the player of the week stats week. Number 23,
- 21:18this is what he averaged 26 points per game, 17 rebounds per game, 14 assists per game in four,
- 21:26four wins, zero losses. What do you fucking mean? That's not even, that's not a triple double.
- 21:30That isn't like you are now in deep into 17. Will Chamberlain, what the fuck is going on?
- 21:36He's like trying to get a quadruple double. And by the way, I don't think that the odds are the
- 21:41end all be all, but he's not even the top three in the MVP conversation. Yeah. People are just
- 21:45tired of it. They're over it. And also they haven't been high enough on the, in the standings
- 21:50because they're right up there. They're half game behind the Lakers right now. They're creeping up,
- 21:53but so, uh, they're also behind, I think the Celtics and the pistons. And so if you go league
- 21:59wide and if you look at it, I've done this before. If you look at the NBA, um, MVPs,
- 22:04there's only a few outliers that didn't wear their, uh, final standings finish wasn't top three.
- 22:12Almost every time the NBA is MVP is either the has the best team in the record in the league,
- 22:18not just their conference, best, second, best, or third best record in the league. There's
- 22:22a few outliers to that Russell Westbrooks, um, MVP, I think they were 10th in the league that year.
- 22:28Um, I believe Derek roses might've been an outlier one. Um, like, like one, one or two,
- 22:34one of Kobe's was like, he was like third in the league and that was like low. So when, and
- 22:39Jokic's was actually two of Jokic's have been outside that parameter. I think they, they finished
- 22:4510th or ninth or something and then like fifth. And so they've already kind of gone outside their
- 22:49parameters to be like, well, Jokic is so insane. We're going to give them the MVP. And I think
- 22:52that they're kind of done. They're like, we've done this a couple of times. You've like, somehow
- 22:56your team's got to start like getting to the top of the standings. Do I agree with it? Not
- 23:01necessarily, but that is the standard they've set. And I don't like the idea of breaking the
- 23:04standard for someone like Jokic when they didn't do it for other players that had NBA caliber
- 23:09type seasons. Well, I can understand that. And, uh, you know what, let's go ahead to headline
- 23:13number three and here's why, because I'm really, really impressed by how, and those of you that
- 23:18don't know, usually Tanya is the one that puts together the rundown for this lovely show. And,
- 23:22um, usually it's, it's always, she's always putting together the rundown for the show.
- 23:26She is a pro. Uh, I love today's rundown so much because not only do we have one referee slash
- 23:34umpire slash officiating, sorry, we got two today, baby. Uh, let's go ahead and talk about
- 23:38with the controversy that's taking place with the NFL. I thought you were going to compliment
- 23:42me on not putting NFL first. Did you think about it? It crossed my mind, but I just thought it was
- 23:50funny that, Oh, our second story Celtics. Yeah. Tanya wrote this, this rundown. No question. I
- 23:55didn't listen. I just tell, I just give you what the people are telling me they're interested in.
- 23:59Um, so this is, this one's really like, this actually is really pissing me off. We're going
- 24:04to get, have the not fun ref story before we have a more fun story. Um, as negotiations with
- 24:08the referee union stalls with the NFL, they could replace officials, uh, you know, install a
- 24:15replacement officials as soon as June 1st, that this is completely sold out. The ref, the refs
- 24:20are the union of NFL referees is getting nowhere with the league. And that is one thing that we've
- 24:26been anticipating this across NFL media, that this might happen. It's not super surprising.
- 24:31It's alarming because even the referees we do at the normal full-time referees have not been
- 24:38doing on their best the last few seasons. And the idea of replacement refs is it's tough. Uh,
- 24:45it's really what they've said. The league itself has said there's the sources that have been
- 24:51reporting back to, uh, media about why these conversations are stalling out.
- 24:58And that's what I want to talk to you about. So officials have in recent years worked spring
- 25:04leagues as a method of more, uh, time on tasks, but the league wants the ability to require such
- 25:09development procedures for low performing officials, rather than it be subject to those
- 25:13officials discretion, which is something that they were like, they don't want to like allow
- 25:16officials to decide to get more reps in. He said we, so the, the other big disagreement is on
- 25:23playoff assignments. The union wants playoff assignments to hinge on officials, seniority,
- 25:27giving preferred treatment to veterans. No, the league wants performative performance rather than
- 25:33seniority to dictate playoff assignments with the ability for new yet capable performers to earn
- 25:37playoff assignments. You gotta be for me to take the NFL side on this. I agree with you and the
- 25:42NFL on that. I think seniority literally in almost any situation is a fucking joke. It's a joke. I'm
- 25:48not a huge fan of seniority unless all of the people are so equally qualified that you're like,
- 25:53all right, well, this guy's just like, if you're talking about three dudes who've all performed as
- 25:57well across the season and one has is a 20 year veteran, throw them the fucking assignment. Can
- 26:02I give an example that really might resonate? Like if this was done in baseball and we're only
- 26:07what'd I say? You say resignate when you mean resonate, you do it a lot. So I'm just telling
- 26:11you now. Oh fuck. Anyways. Uh, the reason why it resonates is because if you are a baseball fan,
- 26:20you'll know these following names. If you're going off seniority and let's just say we were
- 26:23doing this last year, this would mean every world series was done by CD Buckner and Angel Hernandez.
- 26:28Oh my God. That's see, that's a perfect example. Do you want every world series done by CB Buckner
- 26:34and Angel Hernandez? Thank you. Were they, they weren't in the world series. They fucking better
- 26:38I mean, Angel's been in a couple and he knows how to fucking ruin a game better than anybody,
- 26:42which is why he's no longer doing the job. Sure. But you know, I kind of miss how much we hated
- 26:48him. We still got CB to hate. Oh, we'll get to it. We'll get to it. All right. The third one,
- 26:55I think we'll see, we'll see how you feel. I will. I won't project. But, um, so we've agreed.
- 26:59We don't need a seniority guys. You got to drop. I want somebody that's good,
- 27:03but it also feels like this is the bigger issue. The third disagreement is over compensation.
- 27:07The NFL has offered an average raise of 6.45% per year over the six-year life of the deal.
- 27:14So it goes up yearly. Okay. Um, the 20 no over across the life of the deal. So it would be 6.45%
- 27:22per year over the six years. Every year it goes up 6.4%. Yes. The 2019 negotiations granted
- 27:28officials, uh, an average raise of 5.75% per year after agreeing to 5.2 in 2012,
- 27:33the officiating unions arguing that NFL officials should be paid more commensurately with officials
- 27:38from the NBA, MLB, and NHL. The NFL believes that those are not fair parallels. Given how
- 27:43many more games those leagues hold over each season compared to the NFL league negotiators
- 27:49instead point to the relative per game compensation, the NFL officials have compared
- 27:54to officials in other sports with 82, 82, and 162 games per season, respectively.
- 27:59The NFL RA has proposed a raise of more than 10% per year on average. A source said they think they
- 28:05should be, this is the league source says they think they should be paid as much as basketball,
- 28:09hockey, and baseball officials. And when you look around and you look at what those leagues ask of
- 28:14their officials to go away from their families, to be on the road every day for months at a time,
- 28:18it's an absurd comparison. Yes. The league believes it's more ready to respond to a
- 28:22potential officiating lockout than 2012 due to advances in technology, boundary line cameras,
- 28:28rules, and replay assistant staffing. Once again, you know how bad you have to be for me to fully
- 28:36take the NFL side. We're going to war. You and I are going to war. Okay. I'm going to tell you
- 28:41right now. They are, the NFL is correct about specifically the travel, specifically the
- 28:45commitment that is done by. First of all, you do realize that like there are, there are plenty of
- 28:50referees that are going to have to go to like Brazil, Australia, Mexico. I hear what you're
- 28:55saying. London completely agree with you. I hear what you're saying. Uh, major league baseball
- 28:59umpires live in a van for the entire season. They travel from spot to spot. Um, it's a full
- 29:05commitment of the year. They're with the same, usually with the same crew all year long, unless
- 29:08it's a specialty game of some kind. Um, that's 162 games and it's a, it's more of a grind. Now
- 29:14this is a 17 game season. Now, do I think 6.4% is enough? I think it'd be reasonable to get higher
- 29:20to like 6.8% even getting close to 7% but what they're demanding is going from 5.2% to a 10%
- 29:26raise. You're asking for double for a job that I'm sorry is 17 games a year. I'm, well, it's not,
- 29:32I mean, you're talking also talking about there is spring stuff. There is sure you got three,
- 29:36three, three games now. And then you got the, okay. They feel like she'd be compensated for
- 29:40everything. Make no mistake. I'm not saying NFL referee shouldn't be compensated, but to compare
- 29:46themselves to NBA referees and major league baseball referee and umpires to me is an insane.
- 29:54I'm gonna ask you this. Yes. You and I, yes. We want to get, we work for, let's say tomorrow
- 30:01we start working for, um, ESPN. Okay. And we want to get paid. Of course. ESPN prices.
- 30:13What, what ESPN pays their podcasters say whatever it is. Right.
- 30:20Then we get picked up by Netflix. Yes. Now we're talking about Netflix money. Yes. More money.
- 30:28And they say, you want to get paid? Like you have a show on Netflix and we say, well,
- 30:35you gave us a show on Netflix. That's what I feel like. This is the NFL is the most profitable
- 30:44league in the world. They, their profitability and what they are worth dwarfs the MLB, the NBA
- 30:53and the NHL combined. I agree. The, the refs people know them by name and they are viewed
- 31:03by 20 to 30 million people on a shitty game at a time. They are the stars of the NFL show. That's
- 31:14a, I mean, as far, I'm sorry, the referee show, they're the stars of the ref. There are, there
- 31:20are nowhere. Nobody fucking knows like the amount of people that are going to watch an MLB game
- 31:27be officiated. I don't care if it's you combine them, combine every single game that is
- 31:34I want to go back here and I want to actually fight you on this one a little bit because you're
- 31:37now making the argument to me a little bit, not entirely. I freely admit there's shades of gray
- 31:41here. I'm not saying you're just sitting here making this argument, but it sounds a little
- 31:45bit like, well, the NFL is King. So the referee should be paid. I disagree wholeheartedly because
- 31:51no one, not one person has ever gone to an NFL game or watched an NFL game to watch a fucking
- 31:57referee. Then why do you think they should get paid at all? They do a job and they should get
- 32:01paid. And I think they should get paid more by the way, but they're asking for double. No,
- 32:05they should get paid commensurate with how much the, so all of the players make what they make.
- 32:10All the executives make what they make. We tune in to watch the NFL players play. What I'm talking
- 32:16about is commensurate to the fucking, I'm not talking about that. I'm saying if, if referees
- 32:22and hockey make a certain amount and MLB umpires make a certain amount and their, their judges make
- 32:27a certain amount and the NHL, right? All of that is what you are value to the league. You're doing
- 32:32a job. The league. I don't think the value is there anymore. That's another thing. They even
- 32:35said it in the thing. And I think that's wrong. I don't think it's wrong. I don't think you
- 32:40understand how bad the NFL is at instituting their replay because they don't use it the way that MLB
- 32:46I agree that they are bad at instituting the replay, but they haven't changed the rules,
- 32:50but they keep trying to change every rule in every rule when it comes to a bunch of things
- 32:53that you literally can't even, you can't even, um, I'm not saying these guys, no, I agree.
- 32:59I'm not saying it's a difficult, not a difficult job. Of course it's a fucking difficult job,
- 33:02but it's 17 games for three hours a season. I am not worth $10 billion. I agree, but they're
- 33:09referees. They they're asking for 10%. Okay, fine. So we're just podcasters. You, if they say
- 33:17all you ever make is what podcasters make, no matter what platform you're on, no matter how
- 33:22much the company you're working for makes, no matter how big they are, no matter how big your
- 33:27audience is, we can only make a certain amount of money because we're just podcasters. We don't
- 33:31actually make a TV show. Let's say, okay. I'm also having trouble understanding this,
- 33:37this analogy because I don't think they're the same thing. They are. If you work for a more,
- 33:42for a more successful company that makes more money, that pays their players more money,
- 33:46that rakes in more money where their commissioner makes more money, where their executives make
- 33:50more money and where their fucking cheerleaders make more money at this point where every, yes,
- 33:57good. Well, it's not good. Well, it's not good money, but it's better than the NBA dancers.
- 34:02It's better than whatever. That's good. That's all I'm saying is that like there is no part of
- 34:07the NFL that does not rake in more money than every one of those leagues combined. And if you
- 34:12are an integral part of what they're doing, if they don't need reps, they don't have to hire them.
- 34:15That's fine. But if you think you have to have them there, you have to pay them commensurate to
- 34:19what your fucking brand is pumping out. I don't disagree with you. I'm having trouble getting to
- 34:24the idea that referees should get a double increase in their pay. When I do think it
- 34:29should be maybe 50%. I'm fine with it because that's how much Roger Goodell increased. Now
- 34:34I don't think Roger Goodell should make the money he makes. No, I agree. But that's just,
- 34:39I hate to say this, just the realistic nature of this horrible system we're currently in.
- 34:46But that, so your whole thing is like, no, just, just accept the fact that you are the,
- 34:51that you're going to get lower pay than. No, because I'm suggesting they do get paid more.
- 34:55The compensation rate they're getting right now is 5.2. It's still not commensurate with
- 34:58how much more their fucking product is worth. That's what my point is. But I don't think
- 35:03the labor force, see like this whole idea that it's like, no, because you're just like,
- 35:07you're asking for too much more than when you were already making them. They were already underpaid.
- 35:12They have full-time jobs. I know you're making a million dollars a year. I know. I agree with that.
- 35:17I already underpaid. I agree. They should be paying more. I agree. They should be doubled,
- 35:21doubled. All right. Well then I'm doubled. Then how about this? I need to know exactly
- 35:25what their pay is that that's all. I would like to know how much a referee is paid for an entire
- 35:29season. That's it. You want to see, all right, I pull it up, pull it up for me and let's see if
- 35:33you can get me on your side. Cause as of right now, I think referees should be as noticeable
- 35:40as a chair, but that's not your fucking call to make. Like you're, you're conflating whether you
- 35:45think referees should exist with the fact that they do. This is like you saying, I don't think
- 35:49baristas should have to exist because I like at the end of the day, they do like you don't get
- 35:54like, that's not, you're making a value call. You're making a value call on someone's entire
- 35:59fucking career. It's not bad. It's just actually need to be made for the argument. We are getting
- 36:04into a new world where technology is taking over. There is going to be a point where referees are
- 36:09borderline, not going to exist. That's fine. If you want to get rid of refs, fine, but we're going
- 36:14to get there and the rest of you pay them what they're worth to your brand. Okay. Tell me what
- 36:20they're getting paid right now, because what you're telling me in the compensation numbers
- 36:24that they agreed to in their previous thing was 5.2 and now they want over 10. That is a drastic
- 36:29increase for someone that no one is going to a game to watch. That is just fact. Now that being
- 36:35said, I do think they should be made more. And if I find out that the pay that they're getting
- 36:39to do their job, any game to watch any official, I agree. So if you keep making that argument in
- 36:47a year, it doesn't make sense to me that they get paid the same amount of a job. That's 162 games.
- 36:52Cody, if you were negotiating your salary and you were like, by the way, 20 million people watch my
- 36:55show every week and only 5 million people watch theirs. I want to get paid more for doing the
- 37:00same amount of work for less work. I think that would be no Cody. You, you have a show three
- 37:05hours a week that makes that has 20 million viewers. Yes. And another person does a show
- 37:11three times a week, three hours a day. They only rake in 2 million viewers over the same time.
- 37:16You still want to make more money than that harder working motherfucker, because you make
- 37:20more fucking money for them. You're telling me this as if I don't want them to get paid a
- 37:24reasonable rate. It's 17 games that should be paid a reasonable rate for the 17 games that
- 37:28they're playing or anything that they're doing. But to compare themselves to major league baseball
- 37:32umpires who live on the road for eight months of the year. I'm sorry. It's not the same fucking
- 37:38thing. Their average per game. Let's hear that. Oh, no, that's not. That's not what it was.
- 37:45I average referee salary in the NFL is 205,000. Fuck that you're paid more than enough for 17
- 37:53games a year. That's I'm sorry. I'm not with you on this. I think they should get paid a little
- 37:58bit more, but to say that they should be getting paid the compensatory rate because it's just,
- 38:03you happen to be reffing in the NFL and not major league baseball is insane to me. I'm not on that.
- 38:08I like, I don't understand. I genuinely don't understand how you don't aren't making the like
- 38:15the capitalist understanding here. Like you're not like, like you're fully not understanding
- 38:20that your stupid fucking league of baseball umpires does not draw ratings like that.
- 38:26They never have. They never will. They never have. They've never made that kind of baseball.
- 38:31The only team that even compares is the fucking Yankees and the Red Sox. That's it.
- 38:36I want to make this abundantly clear. I'm not sitting here saying that anyone's tuning in to
- 38:39see an umpire major league baseball either, but the refs making the argument that we should be
- 38:43compensating the same way these guys should when their job is simply thinking in my head,
- 38:48hold on, let's just go through it. Roughly eight to 10 times more of the fucking work. I'm sorry.
- 38:56You're only talking about one umpire, by the way, you're half of the fucking crew on a, on a,
- 39:02on a, during a baseball game is doing nothing but watching the whole fucking time.
- 39:07I disagree. That being said, I don't love umpires either. I'm just saying that what they're asking
- 39:15for is very high in a negotiation thing of which they do not have any power in this exact moment.
- 39:21I think they can get them to 7%. I do not think they're going to get them to double. And you know
- 39:25what, if they don't get them to double and they, they, I'm not saying I'm not projecting what they
- 39:29will or won't be able to do. The NFL is able to build people out of money all the fucking time.
- 39:32You're right. And the NFL could pay this as well. I agree with that. I'm telling you is if they want
- 39:36to make $300,000 instead of 205 as referees for one of the biggest money-making institutions in
- 39:45the world, I would agree with 300. I would agree with that because that takes you more to a
- 39:49reasonable that's 7.5. That's yes. I think you've been doing the math wrong. You told me it was 5.2
- 39:55and they were asking for over 10. It's been at no, it was 5.2 in 2012. Okay. So what is it right
- 40:00now? So there, the one that they were currently on from the last one was seven points or they were
- 40:07up to 6.45%, 6.45. I'm asking for 6.45. They were at 5.75. Okay. Now I do think they should get more
- 40:15than 6.45. I think they should get to 7.5. I do think that is more than a year over a year. That
- 40:20would get, that's what would get them to 300,000. I would be fine with that, but they're asking for
- 40:24over 10%. Okay. So over 10%, which is nearly doubling their current. No, it's not. That's
- 40:30what percentages work. Tell me and then explain it. If you take 10% of 205,000, that's 20,000.
- 40:37I thought you told me they were making $205,000 a year. Yeah. Okay. So is that coming out of a
- 40:42revenue of revenue stream of NFL? I don't know. I don't know. So if they're giving a piece of
- 40:47revenue sharing from that and they're getting that at six point, let's say 5.4%, they're asking to
- 40:52get that double. No, that's the raise. That's their raise every year. So if you get a, let's
- 40:58say you get a 10% raise year over year, you start at 205,000. Okay. So it's more about the raise
- 41:03rather than a revenue sharing plan of any kind. Right. Okay. So now that what they want is just
- 41:07going to raise the $300,000. Well, that's it. I'm fine with it. No, I'm fine with it. You were
- 41:15explaining this to me that I thought it was more of a revenue sharing plan that would go up each
- 41:18year. No, your own salaries would go up 6.4%. It would be a salary percentage raise every year.
- 41:24Okay. Salary percentage raise every year. So we're getting to say 10% of salary every year
- 41:28after six years, if it's 205. So you get a 60% raise after six years or you're after six years,
- 41:35you've gone 10% up every single year. So if you'd be, you'd be 20, 20% or 10% of the 205,000,
- 41:43then you'd be 10% of 215,000. Then you'd be another 10% of 225,000. And so you're working
- 41:49your way up. Fine. Give them the 10%. I don't care. It's at the point they're referees. They
- 41:56work 17 games a year. I'm sorry. We disagree on the amount. They're making over $200,000 a year
- 42:02to work roughly 17 to 20 days a year. Do you even, I genuinely wonder, I'm asking this. Do you think
- 42:09they like show up every week and just like, they're just like, okay, I clock in, I work for
- 42:13four hours. I'm aware that umpires and referees, it is a challenging job. And also a thankless job
- 42:20often because it's a hard job and you get a lot of scrutiny, make no mistake. They get so
- 42:25much scrutiny. Endless shit. And I know umpires do too, but it's just by a way less people,
- 42:30way fewer people. You're just unbelievable. I'm sorry. It is. I'm sorry. Nobody watches
- 42:36baseball in that way. Major league baseball is currently having an absolutely astronomical
- 42:41moment right now. That's my whole point. The best they've been doesn't fucking touch an NFL game.
- 42:46That's fine. It doesn't touch it. No one watches a game to watch a fucking referee or umpire.
- 42:50That's the other thing that I'm having so much trouble with. Nobody watches a game to watch the
- 42:54fucking defensive coordinator either, but they still are there getting paid. How an actual game
- 43:01is ran. I guarantee you, if you watch an NFL game, you wouldn't notice the coordinator wasn't
- 43:06there. You wouldn't. Okay. As someone that played professionally though, I could tell you that I
- 43:11noticed coaches, the players notice coaches. It's a, a coordinator is heavily noticed to a team.
- 43:16There are a lot of parts of the NFL that you don't tune in to watch that are like functional
- 43:22mechanisms of a game. Like it's just a weird. Okay. This is just in the chat real quick. They're
- 43:27getting $4,000 an hour. That's not bad. I fucking agree. They're getting more than that. So wait.
- 43:33Oh no, no. They're getting $10,000 a game. I think. Yeah. So they're doing fine. I'm sorry.
- 43:38Like, and you're making the argument to me that they get, they have separate jobs. If they're
- 43:42making $200,000 a year. I, you, you guys are all fucking marks. I'm telling you the idea. You're
- 43:48like, Oh my God, they're fine. I would love to make $10,000 a game. I wish I could make that.
- 43:52I'm sorry. Referees are not athletes. They're fucking referees. I don't, I don't like athletes.
- 43:57The last time an NFL player made $200,000 a year was 1970. Right? So that's what they're
- 44:04getting paid as in the NFL. That's just what it is. And I'm so tired of you guys being like,
- 44:11we have to make sure we save the billionaires their money because
- 44:15by the way, this is not me being pro billionaire. It's me going like Jesus Christ,
- 44:19the referees, you love billionaires. And that's you want to save the NFL money. You hate the
- 44:25little man. And I do hate referees. Clearly. You don't want referees should get a fucking decrease.
- 44:33You should make a hundred thousand dollars. He wants you to make 10% less every year. Yes.
- 44:38Each year you're getting paid less. That's what you've done to me in this argument. You've made
- 44:44me hate refs more. And you know what? I'm fine with that because we're going to talk about some
- 44:51refs now. Yes. Let's go. Is it media quarter time? No, it's we're not, we're not even there yet.
- 44:56We got balls and strikes being challenged. Yes. Well that should be media quarter. All right.
- 45:00This is my favorite thing. It's not media quarter just because I do feel like it is very like
- 45:04baseball game news centric. A lot of people are talking about whether it's awesome or not. I saw
- 45:08Ken Rosenthal say that he really, he thinks that it's actually increased the enjoyment of the game.
- 45:16Let's give the full context. ABS system has been enacted in major league baseball. And those of
- 45:20you that don't know what the ABS system is, of course it's leading to some of the funniest things
- 45:24that's ever happened in the world. So those of you who know it's an automated strike zone that
- 45:26exists. You get to see the box. It is calibrated to every individual player. Why is it funny? Give
- 45:33me a second. Because Gavin Lux has shrunk three inches and that's funny to me. I was 5'11 my
- 45:39entire career. I'm 5'11 right now. You're telling me I could have just lied and said I was 6'2.
- 45:44I could have made money playing professional baseball. Fuck. Anyways. But also on top of that,
- 45:52I will freely admit this ABS challenge system, when it was announced and it was being implemented,
- 45:56I was one of the loudest opponents of it. I thought this was so stupid because what they're
- 46:01doing and this is the thing that irritates me and I think would irritate you just as much.
- 46:05You're announcing to everyone that you can get every single one of these pitches and calls right.
- 46:10Every single one and you're choosing not to. The reason is because the ABS challenge system
- 46:16is brought to you by T-Mobile. If it's just automatic strikes and call, the strike is not
- 46:22going to be sponsored by T-Mobile. Now they're making millions and millions of dollars on this
- 46:26thing and I will admit that irked the living shit out of me. Sure. Now that it's put into practice
- 46:35though, I fucking love it. It's so great. I think it's amazing because the challenge system
- 46:42is actually implementing a strategy that I wasn't anticipating and I'm not going to lie to you,
- 46:48watching fans get into it. It's fucking electric. It is truly moving baseball into the future and I
- 46:57love it. And I think it's going to be really interesting. The first thing that we've noticed
- 47:02over the first week of doing this is that there are certain positions and there are certain teams
- 47:10that are utilizing this, that are taking advantage of it in a very specific way. And
- 47:15catchers are the best challengers so far, which is not surprising. They are the quarterbacks of
- 47:21the field when they're out there defensively. One in particular had a field day. And I love this
- 47:28because my household is a huge Salvador Perez fan. I love me some Salvi, ex-teammate of mine,
- 47:32by the way. He is the best. And the Royals, both the Royals and the Diamondbacks, I think
- 47:37each had four challenges. I think they were both a hundred percent. Because Gabby Moreno also won
- 47:42hell of a catcher back there. Yeah. So they, you know, this, that aspect of it is like really
- 47:48fascinating. Who are, who's challenging? Not only what, which teams, but which positions are doing
- 47:52it. The pitchers, not so much. We're seeing like, we're seeing all kinds of stuff that like we,
- 47:57this, this is the first time in a long time where we're seeing new strategy in baseball.
- 48:04So cool. And that's like something that like I I've seen in basically every other sport,
- 48:10like is new strategy evolved, but specifically in the NBA and the NFL or football and basketball,
- 48:15where, because the league has evolved, the players have evolved, the style of play has evolved.
- 48:19We've seen new strategy evolve. Like basketball looks completely different now in terms of
- 48:25strategy and how it, how it play so much less down low. We talk way more about perimeter
- 48:29shooting. Then we see like, okay, now we're moving back. We've seen all kinds of stuff.
- 48:32And that causes these massive strategic shifts. NFL, Jesus Christ, it's completely like that
- 48:38changes, you know, year by year, practically. But baseball has been so stagnant. And then they've
- 48:43done these couple of things. They do the pitch clock. They, they get the shift, the whole thing.
- 48:47This is the first time that I have noticed like, oh, we're going to see like a whole new element
- 48:54of baseball. We've never seen. It's very cool. And here's the other thing. That's really fun.
- 48:58And I'll give you a little inside baseball thing. Story of mine. Guy even tweeted it out today
- 49:01because I thought it was interesting. Oh, well, I get a second hand second person. You're telling
- 49:05me. No, no, no, no. I think you'll appreciate it. You're the first person I'm actually saying
- 49:08it to out loud and you'll really enjoy it. Those of you haven't noticed Salvi Perez made one
- 49:14particular umpire. No, sorry. It wasn't Salvi that made this umpire. Yeah. He was doing with
- 49:18Doug Eddings and that Doug Eddings was having a rough day with the bottom of the zone, but
- 49:21watching CB Buckner in Cincinnati, CB Buckner, by the way, notoriously the one who made the bad
- 49:28call on CB Buckner is the worst umpire in baseball. He was the world baseball classic one,
- 49:32right? Uh, no, he was not, but don't worry. CB's made a lot of calls. Yeah. Fun fact about CB
- 49:38Buckner. Your boy has one major league baseball star in his entire career. Only got to start
- 49:43one major league baseball game. It was at Dodger stadium. I was really excited to do it to start
- 49:47at Dodger stadium. My one major league star was at Dodger stadium. It was very cool. That being
- 49:54said, I was with the Padres at the time and I'll never forget it. CB Buckner was the umpire behind
- 50:00home plate, which was not good for your boy because it was my first major league start.
- 50:05CB Buckner is a terrible umpire who I truly believe was looking the opposite direction at all times.
- 50:10And then I got called out on a pitch that I thought looked more like a pitch out so much so
- 50:16that catcher for the Dodgers, AJ Ellis, caught it, didn't even try to frame it, started throwing
- 50:20the ball back to the pitcher, strike three, rewound and threw it to third base. And I just
- 50:25sat there going, no way. And I come back in the dugout. I'm like, that was the, I don't even know
- 50:29if I could have reached that ball. And then I go in the dugout and Justin Upton comes and he's like,
- 50:34Cody, welcome to the CB show. And I get to, I'm playing first base in this game. AJ Ellis later
- 50:42gets the first base and he hugs me and he's like, deck, I'm really happy you're here. Congratulations.
- 50:45Finally getting up here and you're officially a big leaguer. You got CB'd for the first time.
- 50:50I never got another major league start. Thanks CB Buckner. Um, I can't stress enough how happy I am
- 50:57that this challenge system exists and I'm really happy we are getting a public shaming of all the
- 51:04bad umpires, especially CB Buckner. And partially I'm actually now disappointed Angel Hernandez
- 51:10retired. I now wish Angel Hernandez was here. I was thinking the same thing. I would give anything
- 51:15to watch a public daily shaming of Angel Hernandez. And so would you. So yes, because your
- 51:22boy, so, uh, Chad Whitson had seven challenges, uh, against him and had all seven of them over time,
- 51:29which is very, very funny. And the crowd eruption, by the way, like to be an umpire who has challenged
- 51:35seven times, by the way, like a decent amount, uh, have them all go against him is brutal.
- 51:42But your boy CB Buckner had eight, six of them went against him. So he got his day in court.
- 51:47Um, Chris Siegel had 10 challenges against him, seven overturn. So like, I mean, we are, it's,
- 51:55if you actually want to feel bad for an officiating crew right there, the umpires are
- 52:00going through now. I did see someone make the argument. And I, I do think that for like the
- 52:06less hot take side of this, um, the challenges have an opportunity to also show just how difficult
- 52:15hiring actually is. If, if you actually want to look at it in a graceful way,
- 52:20um, which I tend to do like with, I try to do that in like these close call situations.
- 52:27Um, because like, I like you're doing human eye. And then when you go to a slowed down version of
- 52:33things, it's like, so little known fact, I used to referee soccer. Okay. I've been a referee,
- 52:38like, and I understand how it's just like, there's only so much you can do. And even when you have
- 52:43line judges, even when you have help, there's only so much you can do. So I try to be like,
- 52:47as long as it's a close call, um, I have like, I, I had the, like you 17 dads screaming at me
- 52:55on the sidelines when I was only 17, you know, like I'm, I'm, I'm a 17 year old refereeing,
- 53:0115 year olds getting yelled at by a 35 year old man, you know, so, but I do understand how, like,
- 53:08when I watch soccer, because I was a soccer referee, there are certain rules that I just
- 53:12like, don't fuck around with. Like offsides in soccer is like a very specific thing that just is
- 53:18constantly incredibly frustrating and bar like the, the, the VA introduction of bar in regards
- 53:24to offsides is actually, in my opinion, made the calling of it worse. Like I, I genuinely,
- 53:30like, I don't understand. I, that's not how I feel about this. If anything, it's made me respect
- 53:37some of what umpires have to do a little bit more. So there's that. And, but that doesn't mean
- 53:43we can't have fun with it. That's exactly right. We can still be like, ah, so can I also, I would
- 53:49like to give a measured thing because I am enjoying this so much, but I will also admit,
- 53:54cause you're not wrong. It should show fans just how difficult this is. It's not the old days,
- 53:59man. Everybody is throwing 97 plus with ridiculous movement. We talked about that on the show where
- 54:04you've said like, it's, it's, it's the game is surpassing the ability for the human naked eye
- 54:08to actually like plain and simple. And we're watching, you know, balls just barely clip
- 54:12the end of a zone that at 103 miles an hour. What I look forward to is their ability to track which
- 54:18pitches they're getting wrong or which calls strikes they're getting wrong. Like, is there
- 54:22a pattern where they already have that, but they now with this now with, with, with, um, challenges
- 54:27being overturned because realistically we can argue it, you know, whatever, but the actual
- 54:31regular overturned calls. And if there is a pattern in specific umpires, is there a pattern
- 54:37against specific teams? Like this is the stuff that we do with other, with other, um, leagues.
- 54:42So that I think is going to be interesting. And, um, so far so good. I just, uh, it's definitely
- 54:47been really, uh, I, my, my guy, Alex Cora got ejected over the weekend arguing about is totally
- 54:54different. I mean, it was a totally different situation. It wasn't an inject, but like these,
- 54:58these umpire situations are just like some of the more fun things in baseball. I love, I love
- 55:05watching it. Cause Trevor story doesn't get like that. Like he was pretty pissed.
- 55:08Oh, and by the way, that was a CB Buckner call and I can't stress this enough. It was a bad call
- 55:14by CB Buckner to the point where the broadcast was like, that's bad. Like they were like,
- 55:19we can't pretend that wasn't really fucking bad. No, it was awful. It was just so you know,
- 55:22full context. It was a check swing at the plate ball in the dirt. When I say he didn't go,
- 55:27he didn't go CB Buckner called him out on his own. Trevor story lost his mind for a very simple
- 55:33reason. And this is every hitter's reason that I cannot stress this enough. You are not good
- 55:38enough back there. You cannot see that he didn't double check go to first base. And again, that's
- 55:44because those guys don't do anything, but that's not there. You know what? Every NFL referee should
- 55:51be paid hourly, a fucking minimum wage hourly. Now that's what you have done to me. That's what
- 55:58you've turned me into. I used to be a supporter. I was an ally. We're going to skip over our first
- 56:07media corner story because we are, we've run long cause we, we were arguing, but I do want to get
- 56:12to our second media corner story before we close out on Hills. We're dying on the ESPN vice
- 56:20president has revealed that there's about according to their calculations, a 50, 50 gender split in
- 56:27women's sports viewership. Everyone is watching women's sports. And this was them sort of
- 56:31discussing their defending, discussing their decision to do the women's sports Sunday programming.
- 56:38And they said that their a Tik TOK is a 50, 50 gender split. Um, they're across their,
- 56:44their platforms. It's largely 50, 50. She broke down all of these numbers.
- 56:49Uh, Instagram is about 60, 40 split, uh, leaning toward female, but we're talking about like,
- 56:55we're kind of reaching across the board. And obviously this isn't including, you know,
- 56:58non-binary whatever else, but there's like across the gender spectrum, people are watching women's
- 57:04sports, not only watching them, the games and the actual product, but engaging specifically on
- 57:09social media, which is a big thing. I mean, you and I have talked a lot about like, there are
- 57:13certain links who just do really well on social media. We've also talked like the WWE has built
- 57:17a massive brand by just like pumping shit out on social media. And that's what they do. And,
- 57:23and sports leagues themselves kind of they've that's, that's a big thing that they've been
- 57:28catching up on. You, you, you know, sometimes when you're on social media too much, you're like,
- 57:32does the real world feel like this? Or is it, is it just the algorithm throwing me the algorithm
- 57:37or is it just like the chronically online people who like, are they actually representing a cross
- 57:42section? That's a really good question. I have the, I have this internal debate all the time,
- 57:45especially when it comes like, for instance, like around election time specifically, I, I I'm like,
- 57:50I can't take the temperature on the world off the social media. And so like, I, you know,
- 57:56generally I can get a pretty good sense. I've, I've been in media my entire life. I'm, I'm a
- 58:01journalist at heart. And so I can generally get a good sense of, is this a cross section of like,
- 58:06of an actual ideology or conversation that's happening across the board? Or is this a very
- 58:12chronically online take you and I have grown up kind of in the era of trying to bring women into
- 58:17sports. The 21st century has been the, like, how do we get women into sports era? And it was always,
- 58:22how do we get women into men's sports? So it was like the pink hats and like, do we sell like cute
- 58:27little clothes or how do we get the, how do we get these girls to like the sports, you know? And it
- 58:31was like, actually you could just get us to like the sport. You actually didn't need to sell us
- 58:35pink hats. You didn't need to like create new, like cute little ways to get us to games. You
- 58:43didn't have to like do anything special. You just had to get us to like the sport. Yes. And
- 58:48the reality is like, women have always really liked sports. Part of the conversation has always
- 58:51been men have tried to marginalize women out of that because they were claiming the space. Yes.
- 58:57A lot of people ask me like, how did you get into it? Like when they find out what I do for a living,
- 59:00they'll say like, you know, how did you get into it? What do you mean? You just always have,
- 59:06you're a Boston girl, you love sports. But like, I get asked it in a way that like men who came up
- 59:11with me in the industry never get asked it. Like people are never like, so what got you into sports
- 59:17as a kid to a little bull? Like people do not ask that of my call. They might ask you how you became
- 59:24a professional baseball player, but that's a different thing. Like, of course it's a very,
- 59:27but they don't ask, how do you get into sports? What made you like sports is not a question that
- 59:32men get asked. You're right. It's something that I get asked a lot. We all grew up playing sports.
- 59:37Of course we love them. You just didn't want us to be, to be a part of it. And when you did,
- 59:40you wanted us to be a very specific type of part of it. And now women's sports kind of bringing in,
- 59:46they're like doing the exact thing that men's sports have been trying to do, which is like
- 59:49access a cross section of Jen of the gender spectrum in a way that like the NFL and the NBA
- 59:55and all these people have been trying to do forever. Um, I mean, the NFL sold their souls
- 59:59to Taylor Swift to get women to fucking watch. Right. I mean, to some extent it has worked
- 1:00:05because like a lot of those women came in and they were like, wait a second. I think I kind
- 1:00:08of like the NFL. I think I kind of like watching a football game. Um, but I mean, it's that's,
- 1:00:12it never really needed to be that you could have just let us be sports fans. And this is kind of
- 1:00:18what this is showing is that like when women are leading the way in a women's led league and men
- 1:00:23are the ones who are kind of like, Hey, I like this and we're here. Guess what happens? Men are
- 1:00:28welcomed in so easily. Come watch the fucking league. I know no one's like, why are the men
- 1:00:33here? Yeah, no, no, no. You guys don't gatekeep this shit. We do. We're the worst. I, I totally
- 1:00:37agree with you on all of this. Real sports fans will gravitate toward a great product.
- 1:00:42And that is exactly what's happening. And women don't have to, the, the marketing and branding
- 1:00:49world has always focused itself on women because there's such an, a branding opportunity. It wasn't
- 1:00:54the leagues themselves that necessarily wanted to bring in the women. It was the advertiser.
- 1:00:58Can I, um, actually bring up something that's actually interesting that's going on in the chat.
- 1:01:01So one guy, Steve is asking questions and funny enough, my mom's actually answering for him.
- 1:01:05And the question he asked initially was along the lines of like, how much was my father involved in
- 1:01:09my, the answer is my father was not involved at all outside of driving me to certain games. And
- 1:01:14that was about it. Um, my dad was not a very athletic dude. He loved sports. He definitely
- 1:01:18loved baseball more than just about anything, but I cannot stress this enough. I was a major
- 1:01:23leaguer because of my mom, Terry Decker, my dad, no, almost had nothing to do with it. My dad was
- 1:01:30a big supporter. My mom was the entire driving force behind all of it. She got me the coaching I
- 1:01:38needed. She traveled with me all over the place. Even in pro ball, she traveled with me all over
- 1:01:42the place. Like I can't stress enough. This was, if, if we were going percentages on who made me
- 1:01:48a big leaguer between my parents, it would be 90% Terry and 10% Jay. It just would be, uh,
- 1:01:54it, it, it's just fact. I don't know what else to tell you. Well, it's, you know, my, it's funny
- 1:01:59because my, my dad was a massive, but it might've been the biggest sports fan alive. Like he was
- 1:02:03one, but he also had that, he had that, um, computer brain. My dad had more like the nostalgic
- 1:02:09brain. So my dad gave me a lot of love for baseball in certain ways, but in a lot of ways,
- 1:02:14in fact, I loved watching baseball with him, but the actual physical aspect of baseball,
- 1:02:18my father had, when I say almost nothing to do with it, it's just, it's so crazy because my dad,
- 1:02:24had he been alive, would have like freaked out that I was doing a show and whatever with a
- 1:02:31baseball player. Like that was like, he loved baseball. He played baseball. He was very athletic.
- 1:02:35He never got to like go and play. I mean, he, he was an alcoholic, very young. So things started,
- 1:02:40but he was an incredible, um, sports mind, the stats, the players, everything dating. I mean,
- 1:02:47he was one of those people, the annoying people that you're like, and this was before the internet,
- 1:02:50I get, I'm one of those people. And this was before the internet, right. When it was like
- 1:02:54all newspapers and fucking radio, right. You exactly. So he would have loved that. And like,
- 1:03:01to the point where he has, we have a red socks cap engraved on his headstone, like this motherfucker.
- 1:03:08And so like, he, he is the kind of person that I could envision being like, have you,
- 1:03:15have you been watching the fucking, you know, Liberty, you know, like, because he loves sports
- 1:03:21and a new sport to love would have been a dream. That's a real sports fan. It's just like a new
- 1:03:27league, a new sport, a new team, a new group of players to get all new stats to memorize.
- 1:03:34He would have been in the chat being like, tell Cody, he got that one wrong. You know,
- 1:03:37that would have his favorite shit ever. So real, uh, you know, I did, I lost my dad young,
- 1:03:42but real sports fans love the opportunity to love something. And I've always said that like,
- 1:03:48I can get into anything. I will sit on, I will sit on the, uh, on TV and watch competitive tag.
- 1:03:54You know, sometimes they'll have that on ESPN. They'll have like some like random shit that
- 1:03:58you've never seen before. I'll get into it because I like, I love to love something competitive.
- 1:04:03If I wanted to sell out, if I'd wanted to do the thing and just be the person who was getting paid
- 1:04:09for this, I wouldn't get to do what I love. Of course. Look at us, look at us, look at us getting
- 1:04:13along again. Finally, you're wrong about referees, but man, we're on the same page. I've never been
- 1:04:18wrong in my life and I'm not starting today. Um, we got through media corner. I made the executive
- 1:04:23decision to skip a, a, a media corner, which I think was the right call because we have to get
- 1:04:27to a Hill. I'm dying on. I need to hear this because I I've had enough. I Cody, we, we need
- 1:04:35to take a full year break from making new TV shows. We need, we need no, I am dying on the
- 1:04:45Hill that we should not make a single new TV show for an entire calendar year because there's too
- 1:04:52much television and there is so much good stuff that is not being watched.
- 1:04:58That is not being talked about. That is not being awarded. That's not being discussed
- 1:05:02because there's just too much. Now, is this a wildly hypothetical and not going to happen? Of
- 1:05:07course, but that doesn't mean I'm not dying on the Hill that we should, this is a should situation.
- 1:05:11And I'm saying we should, I current, I just watched the season premiere of one of the best
- 1:05:18shows I've ever watched in my life for all mankind. I haven't watched yet. And it is on my
- 1:05:25list. I will watch it. I'm a big fan of Joel Kinnaman. He's become an actor that I do really
- 1:05:32fucking good. So this is the thing is Chris, Chris, I watched this on my own. Chris pops in on like
- 1:05:38season while I'm rewatching season four to prepare for season five. And he's like, I really like this
- 1:05:42guy, blah, blah, blah. But no, he's in. So like, I don't want to spoil too much, but like he makes
- 1:05:50the, this season does a lot of jumping ahead to different decades. And so he is playing a man in
- 1:05:58his sixties. So he's got all this makeup on Chris. Didn't recognize it was Joel Kinnaman. Oh,
- 1:06:02really? And he was like, I love this guy. I love this character. I was like, oh yeah, it's like,
- 1:06:06he was like, what? Yeah, that's Rick flagged it, but he could, you can't like, he knows who Joel
- 1:06:11Kinnaman is, but the acting was so good. He was acting like an old man. Like he was like moving
- 1:06:14like an old man and he had makeup on and he was talking like an old man. And I was like, that's
- 1:06:18because this guy's acting his goddamn ass off. And no one knows Joel Kinnaman can do this shit
- 1:06:22because no one's watching this goddamn show. By the way, some of the most incredible space, like,
- 1:06:27I mean, you know, space movies, TV is like some of the most beautiful visual stuff.
- 1:06:32Project Hail Mary right now in theaters, apparently stunning. And that's why I think
- 1:06:35for all mankind is something that like people should be checking out because we're talking a
- 1:06:39lot about space movies. I'm so we're going to see from it. Actually, maybe we could, uh,
- 1:06:44maybe we all go together. Let's do it because we need to see how it is.
- 1:06:49Plans made after this, but this show is beautiful. They're putting so much time and effort and money
- 1:06:55into this. They have been, uh, this show has been on since I think that season one was gonna be
- 1:07:00like 2019, but like, and it's been, they sometimes have to go years in between seasons because it's
- 1:07:04a big, a big show. They're going to do a season six, a season six, and that's gonna be the end
- 1:07:09of the show. But this is like one of the most insane, beautiful, well-done iconic cinematic
- 1:07:16shows being made and nobody's watching it. And there are a lot of things that like I'm catching
- 1:07:22up on like season three of hacks right now. And they're preparing for season five. I love hacks.
- 1:07:28I like, I can't keep up. And so like, I am just tired of knowing there's so much good stuff out
- 1:07:35there that I can't keep up on. And I just want a like, I, I want what I want. You know what I want?
- 1:07:45I want COVID without the pandemic. I get it. I want everything to slow down for like five,
- 1:07:51five months or a year or two years just for us to catch up. Now I would like it without
- 1:07:59millions of people dying from a horrific virus. That'd be nice. I would like a situation where we
- 1:08:06all just clock in on Tiger King real quick, then catch up. That's the first, you know what happened
- 1:08:13during that was when I finally got to watch Justified. I'd never watched, have you ever
- 1:08:18watched Justified? It's fine. I love Justified. I don't love it. I think season two of Justified
- 1:08:24is one of the best television. See, if I, if I were to tell you FX shows, like of the time where
- 1:08:28FX was just putting out just quality work. Breaking Bad. Oh my God. Well, that was AMC.
- 1:08:33No FX. Honestly, I think the best show FX ever put out is actually two shows. Wait,
- 1:08:37hold on. We might, am I in on this with you? Because I have a show. Oh no, it wasn't FX.
- 1:08:41It was a Sundance channel. Nevermind. What was it? It was, um, can't remember the name of it.
- 1:08:45I would suggest going back and watching The Shield starring Michael Chiklis. Obviously,
- 1:08:50The Shield. And Walton Goggins. Yeah, my mom loves The Shield. Is it my mom that loves The
- 1:08:54Shield or is it Chris? Boy, oh boy. The Shield was magnificent television, magnificent writing,
- 1:09:01magnificent acting. And also, I'm only going to say this about the first two seasons,
- 1:09:07Nip Tuck, season one and two. Oh, I can't watch Nip Tuck because I get grossed out by
- 1:09:10Nip Tuck. Okay, I get that. But I got to tell you, season one and two was like truly groundbreaking
- 1:09:15television at the time. I'm trying, I know Nip Tuck, like that was when we were in college,
- 1:09:20right? Like that age. High school and college, right around that age, yeah. It was, it was,
- 1:09:24and it was truly breathtaking stuff. Julia McMahon, who is sadly no longer with us,
- 1:09:29was really phenomenal as Dr. Christian Troy. Did you ever watch the show Rectify? Yes.
- 1:09:35Love that show. No one watched it. It's one of the best shows I've ever seen. No one watched it.
- 1:09:40Listen, I think this is a fair hill to die on. I do not think we should just stop all television
- 1:09:44production. Why not? Because I think. No, every, in my, in my hill I'm dying on fake universe.
- 1:09:50Yeah. Everybody gets, everybody gets. Everybody gets paid for this. Yeah, it's. It's a furlough.
- 1:09:56A furlough, or what's it called when you take a sabbatical. Yes. And like you're able to like
- 1:10:00live on whatever. Yeah. I would love this universe. Okay, here's the hill I'm dying on.
- 1:10:05I love wings. That's not the hill I'm dying on. That's it. The hill I'm dying on is this.
- 1:10:10I love a certain type of wing. I fucking hate flats. I'm sorry. Flats. I hate them. I fucking
- 1:10:17hate them. You have to understand why there is a practical reason. I am so upset. You're going to
- 1:10:26hear me. No, you're going to say that it has less meat and I hate you. Wrong. Not what I'm saying.
- 1:10:30Okay. Has nothing to do with the meat content. I'm well aware that the flat has just as much
- 1:10:34meat as the drumstick. And in some cases, maybe even more. I want to eat the microphone. I'm so
- 1:10:39tired of arguing with you. I don't like this. There is a practical reason. Okay. Daddy has a
- 1:10:45beard. And daddy, when he goes out to a bar, he cannot be sitting around trying to get in
- 1:10:49deep into this thing. And now I'm just getting sauce all over my beard. It gets trapped there.
- 1:10:53It's gross. At least you're not dipping it in ranch. Ranch is disgusting. By the way, people
- 1:10:58love our ranch. They're because it's right. Ranch is gross. If you like ranch, you're fucked up.
- 1:11:03Anyways. Um, the flats are just, it's just messy. It's a practical matter for me. I have a beard.
- 1:11:09It gets all over the place. I didn't struggle enough with the drumstick itself. I was going
- 1:11:12to say, I don't, so I'm not, I think I need, so I'm married to a beard man, much bigger beard
- 1:11:17than you for now. I vote. That's because I just got a trim to the other day. No dude. You know
- 1:11:22what I do with this beard? This beard gets larger than charge. I keep it trimmed because I got to
- 1:11:27interest. This is not a beard contest. It sounds like if you threatened my beard,
- 1:11:32what I'm saying is I'm a man. I'm 40. All I was saying is that it's a much bigger beard. So
- 1:11:39there's a lot of the same issue is happening. And what I'm saying is he's never expressed this issue
- 1:11:44to me. Wait a second. What are you talking about? Cody? Let me show you the umbrella method dog.
- 1:11:51I'll change your talk to me, bro. Wait, what's the umbrella? I don't know. Talk to me goose.
- 1:11:56I'm listening. Fucking send me a video because you like antihero baseball and Instagram. I want
- 1:12:01to fucking see whatever this umbrella method is. I'm listening. Do you like a, do you like a flat?
- 1:12:06I like the taste of a flat. It's a, it's a wing covered in buffalo sauce. I'm on board. You would
- 1:12:10like the ability to eat a flat where it presented to you, but it's, it's just difficult. But I,
- 1:12:14even I like, listen, I can't, I'm not that guy. I'm not using forks on my wings and I have to,
- 1:12:19I'd have to carve out the flat and I'm not going to do that. What kind of sociopath? No,
- 1:12:23I'm agreeing with you. I refuse to be that guy, but you're leaving me no fucking discourse.
- 1:12:30I'm trying to figure out, is it a mustache? More than both? Like you got to, I have, you know,
- 1:12:35I have the method where I always break it and I go piece by piece now, but I got to say I,
- 1:12:39it's just messy. I just, what I, I'm not even saying you're wrong. What I'm saying is I feel
- 1:12:47like the drumstick is, would be more messy. I'm shocked to hear that the flat is the bigger issue
- 1:12:53for you. Flat is a massively, massively bigger issue for me. And it always has. I am so excited
- 1:12:59to run this by my husband with a much bigger beard. I am. I am getting real sick and tired
- 1:13:05of you besmirching what is magnificent. I don't have a lot. It is lady. I don't have a lot in
- 1:13:12life. No, I got, I got sweet arms and a beard. That's all I got. What I'm going to say is your
- 1:13:17beard is magnificently manicured. A little fucking late for that. No, it's really manicured. My
- 1:13:22husband's beard. No, I said bigger, not better. And you heard that? You heard that Chris? She
- 1:13:28said it. She said it's not always better. It's the shape. Is it the shape? Yeah. I do have a
- 1:13:37good shape and we're all talking about beards and penises. Anyway, that's the hill I'm dying on.
- 1:13:46Uh, it's, it's stress. Send me a video. I'm listening. He said, you can listen to me and
- 1:13:53Tonya will trust me. Yeah, no, that's, that's not my guy. A hundred percent. We're trusting stress.
- 1:13:57He says, I'll send a video. It's the only way wings. Dude, send him my way. I'm willing to
- 1:14:02make an adjustment. If you, if you can unfuck up the beard with this, I'm, I'm on board dude.
- 1:14:08Cause I, I want to eat flats. It's just so much fucking work to eat flats. I didn't know this.
- 1:14:14I'm now, I feel like, have I been overlooking this issue for bearded men? Yes, you have. And
- 1:14:20you're not understanding our plight. We are a very undervalued people, bearded white men.
- 1:14:28Well, listen, Chris isn't quite white. So, you know, he's, he's blended. He's a blend. He's a
- 1:14:36very handsome man. Well, guess who's going to talk to Chris later. Stop Chris. I'm mad. I don't know.
- 1:14:47He's going to be very confused about your conversation when he gets home. I need to,
- 1:14:55I need to not drink as much wine on a Monday as my problem. Well, too bad it's too late. You did
- 1:14:59it guys. This has been a very fun show. Me and Tanya yelled at each other. We found common
- 1:15:04ground at other times. And most importantly, you guys are here along the way of the entire time.
- 1:15:09Can I just say real quick, this is our first show we've done on Instagram. We were going to do more
- 1:15:13of these on Instagram. We're going to open it up to more publications. We're going to end up on
- 1:15:16Twitch at some point. We're going to end up on Twitch soon. Yeah. I'd actually maybe look out
- 1:15:20for maybe it's going to be on Tanya's as you see right now on her Instagram. I'm looking to maybe
- 1:15:25put it on my Twitter as well. Get as many views as we possibly get. We just want you guys to help
- 1:15:30us grow this show, like, share, and subscribe wherever you hear podcasts. And of course,
- 1:15:33right here on YouTube, stay abreast of everything we're doing on Tanya's page as well. She's doing
- 1:15:38a phenomenal job putting her stuff out there and just like, share, subscribe. And by stuff,
- 1:15:42we mean knees. Mostly knees. Yeah. Sexy, sexy knees. I'm going to post a knee post tomorrow.
- 1:15:47Hot knee in my videos. And that's kind of what we're talking about. I posted a shirtless photo
- 1:15:52yesterday. Yeah. And Cody did post a shirtless photo yesterday, which I thought was great. He
- 1:15:57was taking one for the team, thirst trapping. One thing about us, occasionally we're going to
- 1:16:01thirst trap. The show is going to be changing the title. It's no longer going to be the
- 1:16:05regular thirst trappers. Join us on Friday for the regulars and the thirst trappers.
- 1:16:11And we went long, so we didn't get to talk about the bloody socks.
- 1:16:15Because I already cut out another segment. So like, we can't get to the bloody sock at this
- 1:16:19point. At some point we will. And at some point we will get to, I actually think we could probably
- 1:16:24bring on some guests for that. So maybe that's something that we plan, bring on some guests.
- 1:16:29Genuinely, I actually think we should do that. We should have like a panel show for the bloody
- 1:16:33sock argument. You collect your side, I collect mine. Deal. All this will not be hard. And one
- 1:16:37thing we will make sure is that every single one of our guests knows that we all agree that it's
- 1:16:44fuck Curt Schilling forever. Fuck Curt Schilling forever.
