- 3:13Speaker 1: what do you remember.
- 3:15Speaker 7: The Ritchie Tea comedy Festival. I actually performed with Gina
- 3:19Speaker 7: and the improv portion.
- 3:21Speaker 3: That's the first time I've ever done anything like that.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I don't remember. I don't remember that either. Was I there?
- 3:28Speaker 7: I also remember I remember Bill talking about various stories
- 3:33Speaker 7: something about him and being a child at church.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Oh, I don't remember this at all. I don't think
- 3:40Speaker 1: you think I was there. Yeah, there was. It was
- 3:42Speaker 1: at the the old theater, the old movie No, it
- 3:46Speaker 1: was the Avalon. Yeah I was. I wasn't at that. Yeah, thanks,
- 3:53Speaker 1: that's yeah, thank you like that? Yeah, Lord, thank you.
- 4:00Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Diego. Good morning senior.
- 4:03Speaker 8: Hey, good morning, hey hey. So my memory is when
- 4:10Speaker 8: you guys used to do the live studio audience at
- 4:12Speaker 8: different locations. I remember going to I believe it was
- 4:15Speaker 8: like Harman's and Draper.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Oh yeah that was a while ago.
- 4:20Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, anyways, fun memory that I got to participate
- 4:24Speaker 8: in that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Well, we used to do live studio audience where we
- 4:27Speaker 2: would have like ten or fifteen people in studio watching
- 4:33Speaker 2: the show. And we sometimes even a long time ago,
- 4:36Speaker 2: we would have two different groups and to play family Feud,
- 4:40Speaker 2: so two families.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Like offices or something. And it was and this one
- 4:45Speaker 1: he's talking about, we did it on location.
- 4:49Speaker 8: Yeah, it was like a family.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah, thanks Diego. My wife just thank you, My wife
- 4:55Speaker 1: just text ins is.
- 4:56Speaker 9: I remember that you guys did Family Feud where listeners
- 4:59Speaker 9: facts to be able to join the play. I played
- 5:02Speaker 9: the game almost thirty years ago, and I may have
- 5:04Speaker 9: met my husband.
- 5:05Speaker 1: There was a it was at the Bagel place. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: remember that. It's got to Mike in Nashville, Mike, My Mike, Good.
- 5:17Speaker 10: Morning, Lauriens. I had to have a really small, quick,
- 5:19Speaker 10: quick one. But I remember when Gina used to have
- 5:22Speaker 10: the same sign off every day. It was just this
- 5:25Speaker 10: nice little pleasant bye bye and and it had always
- 5:28Speaker 10: made my day because it was right at the end
- 5:30Speaker 10: of the show and it was just a nice little
- 5:32Speaker 10: way to end.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I don't I don't recall Gena ever having a nice
- 5:35Speaker 1: little sign off. No, she did, I believe you, Mike.
- 5:41Speaker 1: It was just you don't remember. You don't remember either
- 5:44Speaker 1: Gena or remember.
- 5:46Speaker 2: See, this is why we're doing this though exactly. You
- 5:49Speaker 2: don't like the different sign off every day, Mike.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Oh, I do. I do.
- 5:54Speaker 10: But it was just that it was it was just
- 5:56Speaker 10: part of what I remembered when I was.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Okay, I'll do it that way today.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Okay, all right, thanks Mike.
- 6:01Speaker 10: Oh, thank you.
- 6:02Speaker 1: There you go, bye bye. Let's go to Rich. Hey, Rich, Hey, guys,
- 6:09Speaker 1: how are you good? What do you got?
- 6:12Speaker 11: Uh?
- 6:13Speaker 12: Boner T shirts? A few years ago, I want a
- 6:16Speaker 12: Boner T shirt. It was very loud. It was green
- 6:19Speaker 12: with yellow.
- 6:19Speaker 13: Riding right Bonter since nineteen eighty six my wife got
- 6:23Speaker 13: hold of it.
- 6:24Speaker 12: So that's all I want to talk about.
- 6:26Speaker 1: So, so nineteen eighty six is when we started the
- 6:29Speaker 1: boone is it? Yeah? Okay? Seen eighty six okay, because
- 6:34Speaker 1: we've been asked to do a billboard. All right, that's helpful.
- 6:39Speaker 1: That is helpful. Thank you. See, that's that's the kind
- 6:41Speaker 1: of information that I need. Yes, thank you. All right,
- 6:45Speaker 1: let's see.
- 6:45Speaker 9: Uh oh, I got a text from my friend paul atte.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Hi paul Ette.
- 6:51Speaker 9: Getting day drunk at Jacob's Pickles on the Upper West
- 6:54Speaker 9: Side here in New York City.
- 6:56Speaker 14: That was great.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, we need a show from New York.
- 6:58Speaker 1: And Jacob's Pickle was the name of the restaurant.
- 7:01Speaker 3: And we met friends of friends of the program in
- 7:04Speaker 3: New York.
- 7:04Speaker 1: That was really fun. Although the show would never work outside.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Have you ever was? It was amazing that we actually
- 7:11Speaker 1: had enough listeners in New York to meet us there.
- 7:14Speaker 6: We had.
- 7:14Speaker 3: We did that in Denver too once. Remember we had
- 7:17Speaker 3: a mixer in Denver.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I know in New York we had at least eight people.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think there were more than that. Was there more
- 7:23Speaker 1: than name at Paulette? Do you remember?
- 7:26Speaker 9: Well Paulette says that when we were in New York
- 7:30Speaker 9: we had about fifteen or eighteen people. Yeah, she says,
- 7:33Speaker 9: but I was there and that's all the counts.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Well, there you go, help us, help our failing memories,
- 7:39Speaker 1: things that you remember that we've done in the past. Yeah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: oh boy, let's see. Let's go to Eric. Hello Eric, Eric, Hi, Hey.
- 7:48Speaker 11: So two of my favorite segments was Margaret Ruth because
- 7:54Speaker 11: of the way Bill would say Margaret Ruth or.
- 7:57Speaker 1: Whatever here like this, I'd go mad.
- 8:03Speaker 3: She was our psychic.
- 8:06Speaker 15: Exactly.
- 8:06Speaker 11: She was fun. And then also Dottie Estixon was one of.
- 8:11Speaker 1: My sister.
- 8:13Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah, anyway, I wanted to talk about those two things.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Eric. All right, let's go to Linda. Hello, Linda.
- 8:24Speaker 4: Hello. Okay, so years ago, when you guys were giving
- 8:30Speaker 4: away cars at the Big Ass show. M Yeah, Bill
- 8:34Speaker 4: was on Yeah. Bill was on location out at daybreak
- 8:38Speaker 4: giving away keys, because that's how you won the car.
- 8:40Speaker 5: You had to like try your key in the car, Okay.
- 8:42Speaker 4: And I walked over because you always weren't very far
- 8:45Speaker 4: from my house, and I put my name in the drawing.
- 8:48Speaker 4: But then I had to leave because I had a
- 8:50Speaker 4: pie in the oven, so I had to walk home
- 8:51Speaker 4: and I had to take the pie out of the oven.
- 8:54Speaker 4: And when I got back, I missed the drawing, and
- 8:57Speaker 4: of course you guys had told my name, and but
- 9:02Speaker 4: Bill was nice enough to put my name back in
- 9:06Speaker 4: the drawing, and the next time around he pulled it
- 9:09Speaker 4: out again.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Wow, well how about that.
- 9:11Speaker 2: What kind of pie was it?
- 9:13Speaker 4: It was an apple pie?
- 9:14Speaker 3: Okay, cool?
- 9:16Speaker 1: By the way, win the car. Obviously you didn't win
- 9:19Speaker 1: the car. You got another chance. But now you have
- 9:22Speaker 1: to bring me an apple pie.
- 9:25Speaker 5: You know what.
- 9:25Speaker 4: You said that at the time, and I still owe
- 9:28Speaker 4: you that pie.
- 9:30Speaker 3: He hasn't stopped talking about it since then.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I said my pie, Thank you, Linda, all right, thank you.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Let's go to Adam. Hello, Adam, Hi tie hi.
- 9:46Speaker 15: So this was summer of nineteen eighty nine. I believe
- 9:49Speaker 15: KJQ used to tell the first part of a joke
- 9:54Speaker 15: on the air, and then we had to call in
- 9:56Speaker 15: for the punchline because it was a little rick feet.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes it was really dirty. Well, it was the
- 10:01Speaker 1: other way around.
- 10:02Speaker 9: It was you'd get the punchline on the air, yeah,
- 10:05Speaker 9: and then you would call there was and it was
- 10:08Speaker 9: a recording, right or no?
- 10:09Speaker 1: No, that's right.
- 10:11Speaker 15: How many times did you you told me the bunch there?
- 10:13Speaker 1: He told me the joke, that's right.
- 10:15Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 15: I was also interviewed on air when during Pride in
- 10:19Speaker 15: the mid nineties. In your studio okay, and I was
- 10:23Speaker 15: on the Pike committee.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Okay, cool, great, thank you, Adam.
- 10:26Speaker 15: Memory.
- 10:27Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Mark. Hello, Mark, Hi, Okay, Mark.
- 10:33Speaker 16: Right, did you hear me?
- 10:34Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 10:35Speaker 3: Go ahead?
- 10:37Speaker 16: Yeah, I just I thought it wouldn't be appropriate, but
- 10:42Speaker 16: the situation I have is way before it, well not
- 10:46Speaker 16: way before seventy six, So I felt like it had
- 10:48Speaker 16: to be appropriate to bring up the wrist and and
- 10:52Speaker 16: everything that you guys did there. I met you guys
- 10:54Speaker 16: there along with Paul McCollen Robert Stroud for early and
- 11:01Speaker 16: so I felt like it was appropriate to bring that up.
- 11:04Speaker 16: And there was one other tin I won tickets and
- 11:06Speaker 16: came into tou so that it was out of the
- 11:10Speaker 16: Speedway when you guys gave away.
- 11:13Speaker 15: Tickets and I won those tickets.
- 11:14Speaker 16: And I met Bill all right there. And so those
- 11:18Speaker 16: were my experiences with you guys.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Okay, no, thank.
- 11:21Speaker 1: You, thanks Mark. Those are two great places, the Speedway
- 11:24Speaker 1: and the Risk. Yeah.
- 11:26Speaker 9: Kathy, Hello, Cathy, Yes, hello there, Hello, yeah, go ahead, okay.
- 11:36Speaker 17: Well I moved here thirty six years ago. My husband
- 11:38Speaker 17: converted me to real music. Exact when you're a KJQ,
- 11:43Speaker 17: and I think we've got six boner t shirts. Wow,
- 11:46Speaker 17: and one lots of concert tickets. And probably the biggest
- 11:50Speaker 17: memory is he started donating to the road Homes and
- 11:53Speaker 17: now our daughter has worked there for eight years.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Oh wonderful, excellent, Yeah, well done.
- 11:58Speaker 17: Parents on Yeah, I think I tribute back to you
- 12:02Speaker 17: because we used to tell her about it and she
- 12:04Speaker 17: went to college and had a couple of different jobs.
- 12:06Speaker 17: But now she's there.
- 12:08Speaker 1: So great. Thanks, thank you, that's great. Thank you Kathy
- 12:13Speaker 1: your show We.
- 12:15Speaker 7: Grow Up.
- 12:16Speaker 17: And thanks for changing my music twice.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Thank you, Kathy. Thanks Kathy. All right, let's go to
- 12:22Speaker 1: Monty the Mailman.
- 12:24Speaker 15: Hello Monty, Hello guys.
- 12:27Speaker 12: Hello, So I have a couple of memories. First, I
- 12:32Speaker 12: was on the last I think it was the last
- 12:35Speaker 12: family feud ever and you could find out the dated
- 12:39Speaker 12: one that was because you guys did away. I think
- 12:40Speaker 12: it was the twenty fifth anniversary the Rocky Horror Picture
- 12:44Speaker 12: Show on the collectible VHS.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Wow, okay.
- 12:50Speaker 12: And then and then the other thing I remember is
- 12:53Speaker 12: I don't know if Gina remembers this, but they it
- 12:56Speaker 12: was during the initial like they were getting fit, bod
- 13:00Speaker 12: were suddenly a thing. Watches Yes, And I went walking
- 13:05Speaker 12: with Gina down to Liberty Park from the old studio.
- 13:09Speaker 15: To get one.
- 13:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I I used to. I was.
- 13:13Speaker 2: It was post baby and I was trying to lose
- 13:15Speaker 2: baby weight. So I would have interns drive me, drive
- 13:21Speaker 2: me a mile away.
- 13:22Speaker 3: From the studio.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And I would broadcast and people would walk with me
- 13:28Speaker 2: from It was usually Liberty Park, but I got driven
- 13:32Speaker 2: all over the city where I would walk from.
- 13:34Speaker 1: A mile out back back when walked.
- 13:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't do that anymore, but it was.
- 13:39Speaker 1: Back when the world was a little safer. Thanks mony, Thanks,
- 13:43Speaker 1: I was if it was.
- 13:44Speaker 12: If it was actually one of those where it was here,
- 13:46Speaker 12: we're walking you away to see if you can find
- 13:47Speaker 12: your way home, like what you used to do to
- 13:49Speaker 12: God exactly you didn't.
- 13:51Speaker 9: Want Thanks Mandy, all right, let's go to Kevin.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Kevin, lady, how are we doing right? Good? So I
- 14:03Speaker 5: in a winter storage box somewhere. I still have the
- 14:06Speaker 5: ski hat that I won as a contestant on the
- 14:10Speaker 5: live studio audience. This would have been maybe a year
- 14:14Speaker 5: after high school, so roughly ninety seven. It has the
- 14:18Speaker 5: band Lucius Jackson on one side and the X ninety
- 14:20Speaker 5: six logo on the other.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Oh, I used to have one of those. Yeah, all right,
- 14:25Speaker 1: Thank you, thank.
- 14:25Speaker 5: You, thank you, good time, thank you.
- 14:28Speaker 1: By bye. Sean is here, Hello Sean, good morning, lords morning.
- 14:36Speaker 17: Hey, So what.
- 14:37Speaker 18: I remember is my wife and I got to go
- 14:41Speaker 18: see Blue October live out at the Living Planet Aquarium
- 14:47Speaker 18: and we got to meet them and I've got a
- 14:50Speaker 18: sign posters still okay.
- 14:53Speaker 3: Yeah, we've done a lot of stuff with them over
- 14:54Speaker 3: the years. Actually.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oh, y October is a good practically a local band.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, all right, that was really cool. Thank you,
- 15:02Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. All right, go to Robin.
- 15:04Speaker 6: Hello, Robin, Hey, I totally remember the Aska feature.
- 15:10Speaker 17: Oh yes, my favorite.
- 15:11Speaker 6: One in the ASCA is one time you had that
- 15:14Speaker 6: guy on who writes like the parody commercial songs and stuff.
- 15:18Speaker 14: He was so cool.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Well it's probably a Robert Robert London. Yeah, Bob Robert.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, no clue what his name is, but like
- 15:27Speaker 4: he was.
- 15:28Speaker 5: He was fun to listen to, like he had a.
- 15:30Speaker 6: Lot to talk about how his creative process was and
- 15:33Speaker 6: all the stuff that he'd done too.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He was very I don't know if he's still around,
- 15:39Speaker 1: very creative.
- 15:39Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 2: We used to do a segment called Aska where we'd
- 15:42Speaker 2: have you know, Asca mortician, Asca Asca Furry.
- 15:46Speaker 1: We did ask a jew my next door neighbor, Jackie
- 15:49Speaker 1: ask a dragon queen. We did it all. Yeah, all right,
- 15:52Speaker 1: thank you.
- 15:53Speaker 6: Well Aska, anything right?
- 15:56Speaker 1: All right, thank you, Robin, thanks for let me listen. Mike, Hello, Ben,
- 16:02Speaker 1: good morning.
- 16:03Speaker 13: I am excited to share. I remember there was about
- 16:06Speaker 13: a four to five year period that I could see
- 16:09Speaker 13: every band that was worth seeing between the Big Ass
- 16:12Speaker 13: Show and the Vans Warped Tour for a total of
- 16:15Speaker 13: like sixty bucks between both of those concerts.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 13: And so now when I talked to my kids about
- 16:21Speaker 13: any band that were listening to from the nineties, the
- 16:23Speaker 13: oddo that I saw them, I also wanted to share.
- 16:27Speaker 13: I also wanted to share. Years and years ago, Bill
- 16:30Speaker 13: used to ride in the MS one fifty bike ride
- 16:33Speaker 13: for a multiple.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Score Rosa and I did that for probably thirteen or
- 16:37Speaker 1: fourteen years in a row.
- 16:39Speaker 13: Yeah, and I did that the first couple of years
- 16:42Speaker 13: that I did that, when I was like thirteen and fourteen,
- 16:44Speaker 13: I remember that you were there and I just thought
- 16:46Speaker 13: it was really cool. You were there with the X
- 16:49Speaker 13: ninety six VW bus and it was just really cool
- 16:52Speaker 13: to get to be there and participate in that thing
- 16:54Speaker 13: and see you hoffing along with me.
- 16:56Speaker 1: There as well.
- 16:56Speaker 8: So think that, guest.
- 16:58Speaker 1: That was a great event every year. I love doing it.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you, Ben. All right, let's go to Dustin. Hello, Dustin.
- 17:07Speaker 14: Hey, So my memory is when I was on the
