A New Kingdom funerary papyrus follows Hunefer into an Egyptian judgment scene: Anubis brings him to the balance, attends the weighing, and stands beside a result that will lead onward to Osiris.
Using the Papyrus of Hunefer in the British Museum as its visual spine, this episode traces the painted sequence of Anubis, the scales, Thoth’s record, Ammit’s waiting presence, Horus, and Osiris. A related version of Book of the Dead Spell 125 from the Papyrus of Nu adds the deceased’s address to Osiris and declarations of innocence before divine assessors.
