Latest / Inside the Birds: A Philadelphia Eagles Podcast / The Intel With Greg Cosell: Many High Upside OL To Choose From In This Year's NFL Draft
Transcript
- 0:07Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome back to the Intel with Greg Cosell here
- 0:11Speaker 1: on the inside the Birds platform, and we are continuing
- 0:14Speaker 1: to go through the NFL Draft prospects for twenty twenty six.
- 0:18Speaker 1: And in this episode, we're gonna talk about the big
- 0:21Speaker 1: guys up front, the offensive linemen. We're gonna go guards, tackles, centers,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and look, we're gonna adam.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Greg.
- 0:28Speaker 1: We're gonna really pay attention to a couple of things
- 0:31Speaker 1: here because a every offense, every team in the NFL
- 0:35Speaker 1: needs offensive lineman. B we do a lot of Eagle stuff.
- 0:38Speaker 1: We know that they're gonna look for Eline Johnson's successor,
- 0:41Speaker 1: but they're also implementing a new offense. And Greg, as
- 0:43Speaker 1: you've mentioned, it seems like everybody is running lately the
- 0:47Speaker 1: some style of Shanahan McVeigh type of offense, and sometimes
- 0:51Speaker 1: those guys look for more athletic, horizontal lateral agility traits
- 0:56Speaker 1: as opposed to what the Eagles have done lately under
- 1:00Speaker 1: and they had Jeff Stetlin was big maulers, especially on
- 1:02Speaker 1: the inside, not that they weren't good athletes, but they
- 1:04Speaker 1: really liked road graders and big mallers. You see, Dickerson's
- 1:08Speaker 1: a big guy. You know, Tyler Steam used to be
- 1:10Speaker 1: a tackle. Sam Aler was a tackle in college. So
- 1:14Speaker 1: we'll see as we go through these guys if you
- 1:17Speaker 1: like their athleticism, if it stands out, And I think
- 1:20Speaker 1: that's an important thing to look at, because there might
- 1:23Speaker 1: be a little bit of a change, especially with the
- 1:24Speaker 1: Eagles greg on how they scout their interior offensive lineman
- 1:29Speaker 1: and what they're looking for because of their blocking schemes.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think overall, just a sort of a
- 1:35Speaker 2: point from the thirty thousand feed view is I think
- 1:39Speaker 2: that the game now is so much about third down
- 1:43Speaker 2: guys and if you cannot pass, protect one on one
- 1:47Speaker 2: on third down, And we used to look at that
- 1:49Speaker 2: solely from the tackle position, but it's now more true
- 1:54Speaker 2: than ever from the inside position as well, the center
- 1:57Speaker 2: and guards. For this reason, you're seeing on third down
- 2:01Speaker 2: in this league far more five man fronts, you know.
- 2:05Speaker 2: And so when you have a five man front, what
- 2:08Speaker 2: is that almost always create for the offense what is
- 2:11Speaker 2: called five to zero protection, where each of the offensive
- 2:15Speaker 2: linemen is responsible for one on one versus one of
- 2:19Speaker 2: those five up first level defenders. So if you cannot
- 2:25Speaker 2: pass protect one on one, now at each of the
- 2:28Speaker 2: five offensive line positions. It dramatically reduces what an offensive
- 2:33Speaker 2: coordinator can do with his playbook on third down. So
- 2:37Speaker 2: pass protection has become absolutely critical, and we're talking one
- 2:41Speaker 2: on one pass protection. And the other thing that has
- 2:44Speaker 2: now really become a factor is and athleticism is a
- 2:48Speaker 2: relative term obviously for offensive linemen. You know they're not
- 2:51Speaker 2: athletic like a running back or a wide receiver. But
- 2:54Speaker 2: but what's what are the what's the college game giving
- 2:58Speaker 2: the NFL now at the line linebacker position, athletes. These
- 3:02Speaker 2: guys are better athletes than ever before. So in some point,
- 3:06Speaker 2: your offensive lineman, while it's wonderful to talk about guards
- 3:10Speaker 2: and centers, as a man, he's physical and he's a
- 3:12Speaker 2: road grader and as you said, Jeff, he's a maller
- 3:15Speaker 2: and there's nothing wrong with that. By the way, we're
- 3:17Speaker 2: not saying that's a negative trait. But if you can't
- 3:20Speaker 2: climb to the second level at some point and block
- 3:23Speaker 2: more and more athletics second level players linebackers, it becomes
- 3:28Speaker 2: very hard to really have a good run game in
- 3:31Speaker 2: today's NFL. So if you just look at it from
- 3:34Speaker 2: a larger perspective, before we talk about individual players. You
- 3:38Speaker 2: have to be able to pass protect one oh one,
- 3:40Speaker 2: and interior offensive linemen have to be able to climb
- 3:44Speaker 2: to the second level and be able to track and
- 3:47Speaker 2: block athletic linebackers. You know, those are things that have
- 3:51Speaker 2: become kind of a necessity.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Right right, Let me have this, Greg, because you know
- 3:57Speaker 3: there are a lot of fans looking Let's say it's Cardinals,
- 4:01Speaker 3: depending on which fan you are of. You know, your
- 4:04Speaker 3: team's looking for a line. We just talked about Eagles.
- 4:06Speaker 3: But this is these shows are more for the general
- 4:08Speaker 3: public in terms of whatever team you like. So how
- 4:11Speaker 3: would you assess your overview? I know you don't do rankings,
- 4:14Speaker 3: but how would you assess your overview of this offensive
- 4:16Speaker 3: line group as a whole?
- 4:21Speaker 2: I mean, you know that gets into another larger point.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I think so much depends on team and scheme. I'll
- 4:28Speaker 2: give you an example. So, back when the Rams sort
- 4:33Speaker 2: of had their first heyday with McVeigh and Todd, Gurley
- 4:35Speaker 2: was the feature back for those maybe had what was
- 4:38Speaker 2: it three phenomenal years where he looked like the best
- 4:40Speaker 2: back in football. He was a great outside zone runner,
- 4:45Speaker 2: one of the best in football. So their their offensive
- 4:49Speaker 2: line needed to be clearly athletic and be able to
- 4:53Speaker 2: move just kind of what Jeff was talking about with
- 4:55Speaker 2: what we think the Eagles might be moving somewhat in
- 4:58Speaker 2: that direction. You know, we don't know for sure, but
- 5:00Speaker 2: it seems so. So now they get Karen Williams. Karen
- 5:04Speaker 2: Williams is not an outside zone runner. He's an inside runner.
- 5:07Speaker 2: He needs his shoulders square to the line of scrimmage.
- 5:10Speaker 2: He can't turn his shoulders to the sideline. He's not
- 5:13Speaker 2: a one cut guy. So now what do they run?
- 5:15Speaker 2: More and more of they run duo. They ran the
- 5:18Speaker 2: highest percentage of duo in the NFL this past season.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So what is duo Duo is a little bit more
- 5:24Speaker 2: of that mauling element where you with road grater types.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So they brought in guys who were more of that
- 5:31Speaker 2: type of offensive lineman because it fits their run game,
- 5:34Speaker 2: it fits their back So you know, when you say, like,
- 5:38Speaker 2: when you look at this offensive line, I think it's
- 5:41Speaker 2: like anything, there are guys who are really good at
- 5:44Speaker 2: some things and other guys who are you good at
- 5:46Speaker 2: some things but need work in other areas. And then
- 5:49Speaker 2: it gets down to how teams see them based on
- 5:52Speaker 2: their scheme.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, This might be the rare draft where
- 5:56Speaker 1: you see a guard off the board before the first tackle,
- 6:00Speaker 1: which doesn't happen very often. I don't know if that's
- 6:03Speaker 1: definitely gonna happen. But we'll get into Penn State's Vega,
- 6:06Speaker 1: who some kuys have told me around the league will
- 6:09Speaker 1: not get past twelve or thirteen.
- 6:10Speaker 4: He's that good.
- 6:11Speaker 1: We'll get Greg's evaluation on him. But the tackles I
- 6:15Speaker 1: think are a little bit more raw, and we'll get
- 6:17Speaker 1: into that in a second, where that you see a
- 6:19Speaker 1: lot of athletic upside, but you're looking this is not
- 6:22Speaker 1: the typical draft where usually the top tackle is like
- 6:25Speaker 1: a top five guy like the guy the Cardinals shows
- 6:27Speaker 1: a couple of years ago at Ohio State or even.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Recently you're talking about Para Johnson. Yeah, right right, by
- 6:34Speaker 2: the way, is not become that good a player for
- 6:37Speaker 2: a number of reasons. We don't need to get it
- 6:39Speaker 2: to him. But he's not what he hasn't lived up
- 6:42Speaker 2: to that draft ranking.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Right, So let's get into these tackles, and there's you know,
- 6:47Speaker 1: obviously a guy out of Alabama Greg Caden Proctor might
- 6:51Speaker 1: fit into that category where raw, but there's a lot
- 6:55Speaker 1: of talent or a lot of upside. I know he
- 6:57Speaker 1: had he ran a five something in the forty. People
- 7:00Speaker 1: we're excited about because it's.
- 7:01Speaker 4: A big dude. But what do you see from Caden
- 7:03Speaker 4: Poxter Alabama.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I'll answer it this way to start my two if
- 7:08Speaker 2: I had to pick favorites, Okay, And again, all this
- 7:11Speaker 2: is based on tape study and not the belief that
- 7:15Speaker 2: these guys are going to step in and be superstars
- 7:17Speaker 2: from day one. So people understand that, you know, because
- 7:20Speaker 2: all these guys and Jeff, you nailed it, all these
- 7:22Speaker 2: guys are going to need some work, you know. So
- 7:24Speaker 2: I don't want people to think, oh, I think these
- 7:26Speaker 2: guys are the greatest players I've ever seen. You know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: we're not. There's no Joe Thomas in this draft class. Okay,
- 7:33Speaker 2: but my two favorite tackles in terms of just being
- 7:37Speaker 2: able to one on one pass protect and they'll get
- 7:40Speaker 2: better at it as their coach are Proctor and Monroe
- 7:44Speaker 2: Freeling from from Georgia. And I actually think Monroe Freeling
- 7:48Speaker 2: might you know, And I hate to use these terms
- 7:50Speaker 2: because they're just cliches in many ways, but I think
- 7:53Speaker 2: he might have the highest upside And I almost cringe
- 7:55Speaker 2: when I say terms like that. But you guys know
- 7:58Speaker 2: what I mean, you know, and I'm sure people and
- 8:00Speaker 2: they know what I mean. But Proctor and I've I've
- 8:03Speaker 2: been around him, I've seen him in person, you know,
- 8:05Speaker 2: when I've been to the O Line masterminds event that
- 8:08Speaker 2: Duke Maniweather and Jess Schwartz you know, do such a
- 8:10Speaker 2: great job with and Brandon Thorne, who, by the way,
- 8:14Speaker 2: people should try to look at what Brandon Thorn does
- 8:17Speaker 2: with offensive lineman. He's as good as there is. But anyway,
- 8:22Speaker 2: Proctor is a fascinating guy. First of all, the size,
- 8:26Speaker 2: and that's a trait. By the way, he's over six six,
- 8:29Speaker 2: he's I think at the combine he was maybe three
- 8:31Speaker 2: fifty five or three fifty eight something like that. You know,
- 8:35Speaker 2: arm length is fine for that size, and he's got
- 8:39Speaker 2: pretty light feet and he can one on one pass protect.
- 8:42Speaker 2: He's a hard guy to get around, and so you know,
- 8:47Speaker 2: to me, he's and he's a very good run blocker.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So to me he's I don't know, and I don't
- 8:52Speaker 2: know the person, you know, so I don't go there.
- 8:54Speaker 2: You know, I see in mock drafts whatever that means,
- 8:59Speaker 2: you know, I don't know what that means. When I
- 9:01Speaker 2: see twenty mock drafts and they're all different, I don't
- 9:03Speaker 2: know what that means. But I know in mock drafts
- 9:06Speaker 2: he's not high. So I don't know if there's a
- 9:09Speaker 2: problem with the person, the commitment. I don't know any
- 9:11Speaker 2: of that, but just in terms of what he brings
- 9:14Speaker 2: as a physical specimen, and some of his past protection
- 9:19Speaker 2: reps are just pristine because his feet are pretty light.
- 9:23Speaker 2: He's got a great kick slide. I mean, he just
- 9:25Speaker 2: looks really, really good.
- 9:27Speaker 3: You see him greg with the ability to play right
- 9:29Speaker 3: tackle as all, or just you like him at left.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I would keep him at left tackle. I mean, to me,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I would not move him at all. I think he's
- 9:36Speaker 2: a left tackle. But then you have Monroe Freeling, and
- 9:40Speaker 2: Freeling was a guy to me. I mean, he's got
- 9:43Speaker 2: perfect size and build for the position, long arms, a
- 9:47Speaker 2: long limb frame that can probably add mass as he matures.
- 9:51Speaker 2: I have heard that he's a great, great kid from
- 9:54Speaker 2: you know, I've spoken to a line coaches in the league,
- 9:57Speaker 2: you know, and I know you guys do the same thing.
- 10:00Speaker 2: But this guys is to me again, will he need work?
- 10:06Speaker 2: Of course, some people might look at him and say
- 10:09Speaker 2: he's a little high cut, which sometimes shows up with
- 10:13Speaker 2: a little bit of stiffness at times. Sometimes he's a
- 10:16Speaker 2: little upright in his pass pro But you know, I
- 10:20Speaker 2: think he'll need to get a better feel for speed
- 10:22Speaker 2: to power because he'll see more of that in the NFL. Again,
- 10:25Speaker 2: not that he can't do it, but he's going to
- 10:26Speaker 2: need to just get a better feel for it because
- 10:28Speaker 2: he's going to face it more. But I mean, this guy,
- 10:32Speaker 2: to me just looks like a left tackle. So those
- 10:35Speaker 2: two players, to me would be at the top of
- 10:38Speaker 2: my list at the left tackle position and at the
- 10:41Speaker 2: tackle position overall.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Where do they fall under as far as experience, as
- 10:46Speaker 1: far as how many starts they've had in college, there's
- 10:49Speaker 1: one more than the other.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Is only a one year starter, you know, So he's
- 10:55Speaker 2: you know, he was see again, he stayed at Georgia
- 10:59Speaker 2: because he came out South Carolina as a big time
- 11:01Speaker 2: five star prospect and he became a full time starter
- 11:05Speaker 2: at Georgia just this past season. So you know, he's
- 11:09Speaker 2: he'll need to be coached and he'll need work, There's
- 11:12Speaker 2: no question about it. Proctor has a lot of experience.
- 11:15Speaker 2: He's been a starter for quite some time. So you know,
- 11:17Speaker 2: he's a guy that you know in the SEC has
- 11:20Speaker 2: meaningful experience, which again doesn't mean he doesn't need work,
- 11:23Speaker 2: but he's played a lot more games.
- 11:25Speaker 4: He's from Des Moines. He didn't start off in Iowa,
- 11:27Speaker 4: did he.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Well, he transferred to Iowa and then never played there
- 11:32Speaker 2: and then came back to Alabama. But you're right, you're
- 11:35Speaker 2: right he is from Iowa. That's one hundred percent right.
- 11:38Speaker 4: And we know that out there.
- 11:40Speaker 2: He's a fascinating guy because if he if he's committed
- 11:44Speaker 2: and he's coachable and all those good things about the person,
- 11:47Speaker 2: which you know comes back to a discussion I had
- 11:49Speaker 2: with the GM at the combine that they look at
- 11:51Speaker 2: the tape and the person. If he's all good as
- 11:54Speaker 2: a person, he has a chance to be a really
- 11:56Speaker 2: good player.
- 11:57Speaker 3: I mean, and Freelan has what you can't teach is
- 12:00Speaker 3: you talk about a trait seventy three aces massive and that's.
- 12:04Speaker 2: And he's a very easy move. I mean, look like
- 12:07Speaker 2: I said, he's not Joe Thomas, but he's an easy mover.
- 12:10Speaker 2: He's a very easy athlete. It really happens.
- 12:15Speaker 3: But we got two kids from Utah Spencer Fino and
- 12:17Speaker 3: Caleb Loomo.
- 12:18Speaker 2: What can you tell us about them? I would put
- 12:21Speaker 2: Lomu he's not as good, but I would put him
- 12:25Speaker 2: in the freeling category in terms of his length and
- 12:28Speaker 2: the way in which he moves. Like I said, he's
- 12:31Speaker 2: not as good, but you know a lot of times
- 12:32Speaker 2: when you watch these guys, you do it at every position,
- 12:34Speaker 2: or I do, and I know others who I respect
- 12:36Speaker 2: do it. You often put guys in a box like, oh,
- 12:39Speaker 2: these guys are similar in the way they play. And
- 12:42Speaker 2: I think Lomu because he's got really good length too.
- 12:44Speaker 2: He's over six six three thirteen arm length is fine,
- 12:49Speaker 2: you know, he's he's another guy that has, you know,
- 12:52Speaker 2: got that size, that length, that overall athleticism. I mean,
- 12:56Speaker 2: he just his good reps. He looks really really good,
- 13:01Speaker 2: you know. So sometimes he would play too upright though,
- 13:04Speaker 2: and and which sometimes for taller guys can be a problem.
- 13:08Speaker 2: And what that does is it negatively impacts your strength
- 13:10Speaker 2: and your power and your lateral quickness. So you know,
- 13:14Speaker 2: I think that you know, in terms of past pro
- 13:19Speaker 2: it's all there. But you know, look, all these guys
- 13:22Speaker 2: need to learn strike timing better than it is now,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and by strike timing, I mean use of hands. So
- 13:28Speaker 2: but I would say Loan Moves a very interesting guy
- 13:31Speaker 2: in that regard because of the size and the overall athleticism.
- 13:36Speaker 2: And then Fanu Fanu is an interesting guy. And you know,
- 13:41Speaker 2: I'm gonna give you this making.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Question is can he play tackle in the NFL?
- 13:46Speaker 2: That is a great question. And I got to tell you,
- 13:49Speaker 2: and I actually had a great call with an on
- 13:52Speaker 2: line coach and I said this to him and he
- 13:54Speaker 2: actually agreed with me one thousand percent. When I finished
- 13:57Speaker 2: watching Fanu, I said to myself, this guy's a center.
- 14:01Speaker 1: And this is the Isaac Samolo discussion coming when Isaac
- 14:05Speaker 1: came out of Oregon State.
- 14:06Speaker 4: Yeah, but yep, go ahead.
- 14:09Speaker 2: You know, now, Fanu is a really good player. I
- 14:12Speaker 2: mean he's controlled, he's efficient. You know, I think he's
- 14:16Speaker 2: technically and fundamentally sound. He plays with really good balance
- 14:20Speaker 2: and body control. His arm length is thirty two in
- 14:24Speaker 2: an eighth. Okay, now you can get into this debate forever.
- 14:28Speaker 2: All I'm going to say is I'll give you an example.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Joe Thomas, who obviously knows a little more about tackle
- 14:34Speaker 2: play than I do. I heard him talk about Will Campbell,
- 14:37Speaker 2: and he thought Will Campbell's problems over the last four
- 14:40Speaker 2: or five games of the season were not related to
- 14:43Speaker 2: his arm length. I spoke to an on line coach
- 14:45Speaker 2: who's been coaching in the league for thirty five years,
- 14:48Speaker 2: who said they were absolutely a function of arm length.
- 14:51Speaker 2: So you can have these you know, you can have
- 14:54Speaker 2: these conversations forever, So you know we're not going to
- 14:56Speaker 2: have that. I'm not an on line coach. I'm not
- 14:58Speaker 2: an expert on that, but all I know is fine
- 15:01Speaker 2: is arm length is not what most O line coaches
- 15:05Speaker 2: would want. I believe. I believe counting Campbell, I believe
- 15:10Speaker 2: there's only four or five of the sixty four tackles
- 15:13Speaker 2: in this league whose arm length is less than thirty
- 15:16Speaker 2: three inches. Right. Okay, so that is usually considered a
- 15:20Speaker 2: delineating barometer for tackle play. But I finished watching Fano
- 15:26Speaker 2: and I thought to myself, this guy's a center, and
- 15:29Speaker 2: I think he'd be a great center. But my guess
- 15:32Speaker 2: is he'll be drafted as a right tackle and that's
- 15:35Speaker 2: where teams will play him. I'll give you one more.
- 15:38Speaker 3: His hand size is really small for a tackle. Nine
- 15:41Speaker 3: that is really small.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I mean everything which I should have mentioned because I
- 15:45Speaker 2: noted that too, Adam, thank you. That's a great point.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I noted all those things, and I just felt like,
- 15:50Speaker 2: this guy's going to be a center.
- 15:52Speaker 1: By the way, uh top scorer in the three cone,
- 15:56Speaker 1: top scorer in the shuttle, top.
- 15:57Speaker 4: Scorer in the forty yard dash. He's a really good athlete.
- 16:00Speaker 1: And that almost again invites the idea that you'd probably
- 16:04Speaker 1: want him at guard or center in a movement in
- 16:07Speaker 1: a Shanahan style offense where you can get this guy
- 16:11Speaker 1: out on the perimeter like they did with Kelsey the
- 16:14Speaker 1: Eagles did, or like the Shanahan teams do horizontally.
- 16:17Speaker 4: You get these guys horizontal. They're fast movers. He can
- 16:20Speaker 4: get a am.
- 16:22Speaker 2: This now gets down to personal preference. But there's also
- 16:24Speaker 2: a lot of Bowl line coaches that like their centers
- 16:27Speaker 2: to be long nowadays. Like there's a kid from Florida
- 16:30Speaker 2: named Jake Slaughter who's over six', four and you know
- 16:33Speaker 2: they like their centers to be. Longer you know a
- 16:36Speaker 2: lot of coaches don't want six to one centers now
- 16:39Speaker 2: then you could look at the. League see this is
- 16:41Speaker 2: why these conversations are. Great AND i love talking to
- 16:43Speaker 2: you guys because we just sort of go off on
- 16:45Speaker 2: great tangents talking, ball AND i hope the fans appreciate
- 16:47Speaker 2: that part of it instead of just a. Cliche, well
- 16:50Speaker 2: this guy's, big he's. Strong. Yeah last, year could some
- 16:53Speaker 2: people believe the best center in the league Was Aaron
- 16:55Speaker 2: brewer From miami who's like six feet and two hundred
- 16:59Speaker 2: and seventy five. Pounds so you can be good in
- 17:02Speaker 2: many different, ways you, know but you have to decide
- 17:06Speaker 2: what you think is the. Best you, know you, Know
- 17:10Speaker 2: brewer is an, exception and it goes back to the
- 17:12Speaker 2: Old Bill. Parcels you don't want to draft a team of.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Exceptions you. Know he just happens to be a really good,
- 17:17Speaker 2: player and he had a great. Year but it gets
- 17:20Speaker 2: back To fano. BOY i think that everything about his
- 17:23Speaker 2: game that he could be an All pro. CENTER i really.
- 17:25Speaker 2: DO i can see. It you.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Know Isaac samalo came out Of Oregon state and they
- 17:30Speaker 1: he had really good, athleticism And adam AND i were
- 17:33Speaker 1: told at the, time you, know he played, tackle but
- 17:35Speaker 1: don't be surprised if he's a.
- 17:36Speaker 4: Guarden maybe even a.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Center and it wound up he was on a he
- 17:39Speaker 1: played next to A hall Of fame. Center so he
- 17:43Speaker 1: stayed at guard and became a really good. One so
- 17:45Speaker 1: and who do you do?
- 17:46Speaker 4: That just where you get drafted?
- 17:47Speaker 2: To who do you just signed? With he's not With pittsburgh?
- 17:50Speaker 4: Anymore you're, right he? Did was It? ARIZONA i forget
- 17:54Speaker 4: where he signed anywhere?
- 17:55Speaker 2: Else?
- 17:56Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 17:57Speaker 2: Yeah And, Cardinals. Cardinals he's a that's the case of a.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Guy he's not gonna Be hall Of, famer, obviously but
- 18:02Speaker 2: he's had a really nice. Career he's a really good
- 18:05Speaker 2: football player who's going to play twelve thirteen years in
- 18:08Speaker 2: the league and had a really, nice nice.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Career, Yeah i'm excited about to see what we're BECAUSE
- 18:13Speaker 1: i think he's got all the, Tools, greg you, know
- 18:15Speaker 1: despite the blacker measurables a, tackle he's got great. Athletics
- 18:19Speaker 1: is going to be a, good good guard or, center
- 18:21Speaker 1: like you, said in the league for a, while and
- 18:22Speaker 1: maybe a right.
- 18:23Speaker 4: TACKLE i won't put them.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Again you, know some people listening might view my comment
- 18:26Speaker 2: as always that's a controversial. Comment you, know it's just
- 18:29Speaker 2: evaluating watching a player and then Looking And i'm so
- 18:32Speaker 2: Glad adam brought up the hand, size and you, know
- 18:34Speaker 2: there's so many factors that go into, this that that
- 18:36Speaker 2: coaches look, at you. KNOW i, Mean i've spoken to
- 18:39Speaker 2: an online coach who says one of the main things
- 18:42Speaker 2: he looks at with the, combine he's not so much
- 18:44Speaker 2: interested in the. Drills he looks at how a guy
- 18:47Speaker 2: lands when he does the broad, jump because he says
- 18:49Speaker 2: that tells him so much about his, balance you. Know,
- 18:52Speaker 2: so you, know there's so many factors that go into,
- 18:55Speaker 2: this and different people approach this totally, differently and these
- 18:58Speaker 2: are not. Mathematical this is not right or. Wrong you,
- 19:02Speaker 2: know there's so many variables. Here all, right.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Let's let's move on to the kid From Miami greg
- 19:08Speaker 1: offensive tackles by the, way.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Now we, know, yeah thank You Francis. MALOA i had to.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Find that out BECAUSE i Knew i'm GONNA i was
- 19:16Speaker 2: gonna have to talk to him a, lot talk about,
- 19:18Speaker 2: him AND i you, know the worst thing is WHEN
- 19:20Speaker 2: i hear people mispronounced guy's, names AND i always feel
- 19:22Speaker 2: like you, should at, least you, know check on.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Name, YES i appreciate it because you educated me on.
- 19:27Speaker 1: It so That Francis, maloa go, ahead who's you?
- 19:31Speaker 2: Know to? Me he's a really good. Player the only
- 19:35Speaker 2: concern you would have with, him and again this is
- 19:38Speaker 2: not just my, concern BUT i noticed it is he
- 19:42Speaker 2: doesn't really have a lot of range because he's a power.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Player that's his. GAME i, mean this guy is really.
- 19:49Speaker 2: STRONG i, mean is he a good? Athlete, yeah you,
- 19:52Speaker 2: know he's not the best athlete at the. Position he's
- 19:56Speaker 2: a really good run, blocker has great finishing, traits you, know,
- 20:00Speaker 2: competitive just what you. Like he's got heavy. Hands in pass,
- 20:04Speaker 2: protection he can really. Anchor he can absorb and control power.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Rushes that's kind of his. Game but you, know the
- 20:12Speaker 2: one thing that does stand out is he's doesn't have
- 20:16Speaker 2: the range you ideally. Like but he's going to play right.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Tackle he'll be drafted as a right. Tackle now, again
- 20:23Speaker 2: he's another guy THAT i guarantee there'll be SOME o
- 20:26Speaker 2: line coaches in the league that will tell you that
- 20:29Speaker 2: he'd be better at guard because of the range. Issue
- 20:32Speaker 2: but you, know he'll be drafted as a right. Tackle and,
- 20:35Speaker 2: again you, know then so much depends on on. Scheme
- 20:40Speaker 2: And i'll give you a great. Example, Okay mike. Mclinchy
- 20:43Speaker 2: mike mclinchy was with The. Niners mike mclinchy struggled in
- 20:46Speaker 2: one on one pass Pro now he goes to the
- 20:49Speaker 2: to The broncos as a highly paid free, agent And
- 20:52Speaker 2: Sean payton runs an offense where the ball gets out. Quick.
- 20:56Speaker 2: OKAY i mean that's the foundation of what he. Does you,
- 20:59Speaker 2: know Bo nick's the most passes in THE nfl last
- 21:01Speaker 2: year and everything was you, know was. Quick. Okay so
- 21:05Speaker 2: mcglinchy's less than great one on one pass protection ability
- 21:11Speaker 2: gets camouflaged because he's not doesn't have to pass protect
- 21:15Speaker 2: on deep. Drops, now, yeah does it get to be
- 21:17Speaker 2: third and, along of, course but that's not foundationally how
- 21:20Speaker 2: they play. Offense so so much of this is dependent
- 21:23Speaker 2: on team and. Scheme you. Know you Know Mali, NOAH
- 21:29Speaker 2: i guarantee he'll go in the league as a right,
- 21:31Speaker 2: tackle and then teams will find, out, oh can he play?
- 21:34Speaker 2: It yeah in our system he. Can oh, no he
- 21:37Speaker 2: can't play it in our. System maybe he's a, guard
- 21:39Speaker 2: we won't know. That but he's going to be drafted
- 21:41Speaker 2: as a tackle and he is a very good.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Prospect can you, explain just for listeners who may not
- 21:46Speaker 1: be familiar with the term and how it, applies what
- 21:49Speaker 1: range means for an offensive lineman.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Yeah range is the ability to move laterally in response
- 21:56Speaker 2: to quick movements by a pass. Rusher, so in other,
- 21:59Speaker 2: words What Maui noah is really good at is is
- 22:03Speaker 2: if a guy just does speed to power and basically
- 22:05Speaker 2: works right into, him he's really good at. That he's,
- 22:08Speaker 2: strong he's got heavy, hands he can absorb and. Control
- 22:13Speaker 2: that's what he. Is he's a power. Player but what
- 22:17Speaker 2: he is is he's kind of narrow based in his past,
- 22:20Speaker 2: protection you, know with his, body so he stays in the.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Cylinder but he doesn't have easy lateral. Movement so if
- 22:27Speaker 2: you think of past rushers that sort of attack you
- 22:32Speaker 2: into your body and then try it and then work
- 22:34Speaker 2: off of, it Like Nick bose is a master at
- 22:36Speaker 2: that of sort of attacking you and then working off
- 22:39Speaker 2: and Is Maloi noah does not have that quick lateral
- 22:44Speaker 2: movement which is rained in order to then respond to
- 22:48Speaker 2: that right and in THE, nfl if you start responding
- 22:50Speaker 2: to that with your, arms you get called for. Holding
- 22:54Speaker 2: so he might struggle.
- 22:55Speaker 4: With those bendy edgy Wid, yeah.
- 22:59Speaker 2: The guys who kind of go right at him to
- 23:01Speaker 2: get him to, set you, know because you want to
- 23:03Speaker 2: get him to set with his feet in the ground
- 23:04Speaker 2: firm and then off you go off that he's already,
- 23:08Speaker 2: set so now he just doesn't have that quick lateral
- 23:11Speaker 2: movement to respond to. It not that he's totally incapable doing,
- 23:16Speaker 2: that but that's that's not a strength of his. Game good.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Stuff the next guy is another, Tackle Max. Ihan not
- 23:26Speaker 3: sure is how he pronounce. IT i had to look it.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Up he's out Of Arizona. State yet another tackles who's
- 23:33Speaker 3: got some.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Upside, yeah and he's a guy that hasn't played a
- 23:36Speaker 2: ton of, football so he's he's sort of you, know
- 23:40Speaker 2: he's going to be thought, OF i think pretty highly
- 23:42Speaker 2: as a guy that as you go down the road
- 23:44Speaker 2: that people are going to really look at him and, think,
- 23:47Speaker 2: oh this guy's going to be interesting. Player he's got
- 23:49Speaker 2: really good arm length or ridiculously good. Wingspan another guy
- 23:54Speaker 2: that plays. Strong he's got those, heavy active hands in pass.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Pro did a really good job of coordinating that with
- 24:02Speaker 2: his footwork to stay connected to. Rushers he. Had he
- 24:06Speaker 2: was very good at being able to reset himself when
- 24:10Speaker 2: he was initially, beat and he had excellent recovery traits
- 24:13Speaker 2: and that's SOMETHING i. Learned had a great conversation last
- 24:16Speaker 2: year With Bill, callahan WHO'S i think now with The,
- 24:19Speaker 2: falcons but obviously considered one of the best to ever do.
- 24:21Speaker 2: It and he talked a lot about recovery traits and you,
- 24:25Speaker 2: know because, guys, look you, know the past rushers are
- 24:28Speaker 2: getting to be better and better, athletes and you you're
- 24:31Speaker 2: going to get initially beat sometimes that's just the way it.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Is and can you. Recover you, know it's not a beauty,
- 24:37Speaker 2: contest it's not a swimsuit. Competition sometimes you don't look
- 24:41Speaker 2: great doing. It sometimes you do look, great but sometimes
- 24:44Speaker 2: you just got to be able to recover and get
- 24:46Speaker 2: back in. Position And max did a really good job
- 24:50Speaker 2: With NOTICE i didn't say his last, name And, Max max,
- 24:53Speaker 2: did you, know a very good job of doing. That
- 24:56Speaker 2: so he's going to be a very interesting guy BECAUSE
- 24:59Speaker 2: i think the best is yet to. Come because you,
- 25:02Speaker 2: know he was born In. Nigeria he did not begin
- 25:04Speaker 2: playing football until twenty twenty. One he was a basketball,
- 25:08Speaker 2: player so so he's got you, know there's much to
- 25:12Speaker 2: learn for. Him you. Know the biggest question with him
- 25:16Speaker 2: is he is somewhat not exactly the, same but somewhat
- 25:20Speaker 2: similar to Mamoin noah in that his reactive, quickness even
- 25:25Speaker 2: though he recover as, well just generally as an, athlete
- 25:28Speaker 2: his reactive quickness is probably not exactly what you. Want but,
- 25:32Speaker 2: AGAIN i think he'll be drafted as a.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Tackle the only issue with him is it's odd as
- 25:37Speaker 3: long as he is his hand size or size nine is.
- 25:40Speaker 2: Small, yeah that's. Crazy but about his you, know his
- 25:43Speaker 2: arm length is almost thirty four inches and his wingsman's.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Ridiculous, YEAH i was.
- 25:48Speaker 1: THAT i almost like lost it WHEN i saw. That i'm,
- 25:50Speaker 1: like how can you have since long arms and short?
- 25:52Speaker 4: Ends?
- 25:52Speaker 1: Yeah by the, way very good. Athlete this is a
- 25:56Speaker 1: guy who is ran the top forty yard dash among
- 25:59Speaker 1: tackles one he was second best split one seven three
- 26:02Speaker 1: and then third and both abroad and the. Bench so
- 26:06Speaker 1: he's got good, athleticism good strength. There and the reason
- 26:09Speaker 1: WHY i think you see him mocked to The eagles
- 26:11Speaker 1: a lot and all those monk trass is he seems
- 26:14Speaker 1: like the perfect guy based on what you, Said greg
- 26:16Speaker 1: to if you've got to sit a year and just
- 26:18Speaker 1: get a little more seasoning behind a guy Like Lane, johnson,
- 26:21Speaker 1: right and then the new coaching staff and, everything.
- 26:25Speaker 4: By year, two he could really be.
- 26:27Speaker 2: IN i bet that the best football it's ahead of
- 26:30Speaker 2: him because learning and he hasn't played a, lot but
- 26:33Speaker 2: it's it's it's there in his. Body all, right good.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Stuff let's talk about the guards, Here greg and, obviously
- 26:42Speaker 1: uh the guy From Penn. STATE i almost feel like
- 26:44Speaker 1: his year got overshadowed Because Penn state just wasn't a
- 26:47Speaker 1: very good.
- 26:48Speaker 4: Team and it didn't even hit me until after the
- 26:50Speaker 4: year that how Good vega has.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Gotten Vegue, IONE i won't even try to pronounce the full.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Fourth you want to do what you, can but they
- 26:57Speaker 1: call him Veague. Ione but give us what you.
- 26:59Speaker 2: See, YEAH i think you're dealing, with you, know a
- 27:02Speaker 2: guy that's just a solid, player and in most areas
- 27:07Speaker 2: he's not a great. Athlete he's a plus, athlete you,
- 27:11Speaker 2: Know AND i THINK i think you know, overall you,
- 27:14Speaker 2: know he has really good hand. Usage he can, mirror
- 27:17Speaker 2: he can, redirect he has good lateral. Movement at, times
- 27:20Speaker 2: he was dominant in one on one pass. Protection we
- 27:23Speaker 2: spoke about that, early that that's. Essential but a couple
- 27:27Speaker 2: of things did stand out that need to be you,
- 27:29Speaker 2: know worked. On every once in a, while he would
- 27:32Speaker 2: lose control of the rep in one on one pass,
- 27:34Speaker 2: protection especially when he was playing against a quick dtackle
- 27:38Speaker 2: and obviously he'll be doing that in THE. Nfl but
- 27:41Speaker 2: you really love just the, physicality the competitive. Toughness you.
- 27:47Speaker 2: KNOW i think as a run, BLOCKER i think that
- 27:49Speaker 2: he's he's, really really. Good he's a powerful run. BLOCKER
- 27:53Speaker 2: i think he's got core and lower body. Strength you,
- 27:56Speaker 2: know he's one of those guys the term we use
- 27:58Speaker 2: he creates displacement on driving base. Blocks he was especially
- 28:02Speaker 2: effective on combination, blocks where there are times he just
- 28:05Speaker 2: obliterated the you, know defensive. Tackles you, KNOW i think
- 28:09Speaker 2: you're talking about a guy, that to me is a,
- 28:12Speaker 2: solid solid. Player you, know a couple of, things you,
- 28:15Speaker 2: know AS i, said need to be worked. On BUT
- 28:18Speaker 2: i think, overall you, know he's probably a guy you
- 28:21Speaker 2: could you, KNOW i hate to use his, term but
- 28:23Speaker 2: you hear it a. Lot he's probably a plug and play.
- 28:25Speaker 2: Player AND i, think you, know you'll be. OKAY i
- 28:27Speaker 2: don't think you'll look at him and, think, oh we
- 28:29Speaker 2: got to get better at that. POSITION i think he'll,
- 28:31Speaker 2: be you, know a guy he'll start from day one
- 28:32Speaker 2: and be.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Good, yeah he has some impressively violent blocks on tape
- 28:37Speaker 1: where he just rag dolls a.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Few guys in the run.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Game he reminds me of what an Old eagles interior
- 28:42Speaker 1: offensive lineman would have looked, like just a, big hulking
- 28:46Speaker 1: guy who can just move.
- 28:47Speaker 4: People would you say he's a people, Mover, Greg.
- 28:50Speaker 2: Yes he can be for? Sure, Yes, Yes, no He's
- 28:54Speaker 2: he's one of those. Guys, again Unless i'm totally, wrong
- 28:57Speaker 2: and it, doesn't it seems like others, agree and you,
- 29:00Speaker 2: know people THAT i think we all. RESPECT i think
- 29:02Speaker 2: he's one of those guys that's just going to be
- 29:04Speaker 2: a good. Player whether he's you, know an all, pro you, know,
- 29:07Speaker 2: unbelievable those are hard questions to, answer you, know BUT
- 29:11Speaker 2: i THINK i think he'll be a good football. Player you,
- 29:14Speaker 2: know he's got a lot of experience and he's a good.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Player you, know there's there's not a lot in his
- 29:19Speaker 2: game that you, go oh my, god that's just something
- 29:21Speaker 2: that is a big.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Problem, Sure, greg a guy that played his college ball
- 29:28Speaker 3: at college station has Chased. Besontas i've heard a lot
- 29:31Speaker 3: Of balthoum offensive line, coach SO i want to make
- 29:32Speaker 3: sure we talked about.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Him what are your? Thoughts, YEAH i like, HIM i
- 29:36Speaker 2: like him a. LOT i would say that he's he's
- 29:40Speaker 2: in many ways LIKE i. Own he's really good at
- 29:43Speaker 2: pretty much. Everything the only thing that you do worry
- 29:46Speaker 2: about a little, bit and it gets back to how
- 29:48Speaker 2: we started this conversation is there were just a few
- 29:51Speaker 2: too many snaps where he just did not anchor the
- 29:54Speaker 2: way you need to anchor in one on one pass.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Protection he just could not get his feet set and
- 29:59Speaker 2: he just got driven. Back, now not being an offensive line,
- 30:02Speaker 2: COACH i don't know if that's a technique. ISSUE i
- 30:05Speaker 2: don't know if that's a core strainth. ISSUE i don't
- 30:08Speaker 2: know the answer to that. Question i'm not an online,
- 30:09Speaker 2: coach BUT i think ideally that can be. Rectified but
- 30:16Speaker 2: other than, that you, know look guys who play in THE.
- 30:19Speaker 2: SEC i see a ton of because THE sec there's
- 30:21Speaker 2: so many, Players So i've probably seen seven or eight
- 30:24Speaker 2: games of The. Santis he's another one of those guys
- 30:27Speaker 2: that's just a really solid good. PLAYER i would imagine
- 30:30Speaker 2: when he'll get draft and he'll likely be a starter
- 30:33Speaker 2: pretty much from day. ONE i would think he has
- 30:35Speaker 2: that feel to, him but he's that issue in pass.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Pro if it's technique, wise it can be, fixed and
- 30:42Speaker 2: it's going to have to be. Fixed.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Jeff the issue with him, is, yes he's a right
- 30:47Speaker 3: tackle in, college but his arms are so short he
- 30:50Speaker 3: has to play. Guard he's not playing tackle the next
- 30:52Speaker 3: level gat guard at, okay guard, Right but he's got
- 30:57Speaker 3: in terms of, Height i'm. Sorry in terms of, height,
- 30:59Speaker 3: yeah he's got over six. Five you love, that but
- 31:03Speaker 3: his arm length is so. Short there's just no way
- 31:06Speaker 3: that he would do. That in, fact he was actually
- 31:08Speaker 3: he started at right tackle when he got, there and
- 31:11Speaker 3: they would be moving to.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Guard, yeah because his arm length is thirty one and three. Quarters,
- 31:15Speaker 2: sure that's for, sure, which by the, way is. Bigger
- 31:18Speaker 2: that is longer than. Fanos.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Jeez, hey if you're like, me you're desensitized to the
- 31:24Speaker 1: dozens of notifications on your phone every. Day but if
- 31:27Speaker 1: that latest ping is from your security, camera ignoring it

- 33:40Speaker 1: GREG i know you also wanted to talk about a
- 33:42Speaker 1: guy From Georgia. Tech he's really because he's got maybe tackle,
- 33:45Speaker 1: measurables but guard inside.
- 33:47Speaker 4: Athletics he's. Got he's pretty. Good his name Is Killan,
- 33:49Speaker 4: Ru Georgia.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Tech, yeah, GUY i knew nothing about, whatsoever AND i
- 33:55Speaker 2: love WHEN i watch guys like. THAT i, MEAN i
- 33:57Speaker 2: knew nothing about, him you, know and he's a guard
- 33:59Speaker 2: all the. Way you. Know the only thing people might
- 34:01Speaker 2: not like is he's not as tall as you might.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Like he's six three and five, eighths although on tape
- 34:06Speaker 2: he looks, bigger but he's you, know because his arm
- 34:10Speaker 2: length is actually his arm leanes is over thirty. Three
- 34:12Speaker 2: it's thirty three and an. Eighth BUT i really like this.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Guy you. Know we talked about the ability to move
- 34:19Speaker 2: up to the second level and block athletic. LINEBACKERS i
- 34:23Speaker 2: thought he did that really really. Well and plus they
- 34:27Speaker 2: used him quite a bit as a puller in their
- 34:30Speaker 2: gap scheme and they're outside guard post. Schemes he's, very
- 34:33Speaker 2: very good at. THAT i thought in past protection he
- 34:37Speaker 2: had you, know athletic knee bend and. Balance he was
- 34:41Speaker 2: able to establish a firm base and stayed. Low he
- 34:45Speaker 2: was a basketball player in his, background so he saw
- 34:47Speaker 2: kind of the easy lateral. Movement, AGAIN i don't know
- 34:51Speaker 2: where guys get. DRAFTED i don't make those, predictions BUT
- 34:55Speaker 2: I i really like this player a lot based on his.
- 34:59Speaker 4: Tape good athlete, Too greg he.
- 35:02Speaker 1: WAS i think he had the second or third best
- 35:05Speaker 1: tied for third in the in the ten, Split uh
- 35:09Speaker 1: third for third in the broad jump twenty nine on
- 35:12Speaker 1: the on the bench was was tied for.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Third so he can do a lot of things, athletically you.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Know and also he he started his career At Middle
- 35:21Speaker 2: Tennessee state and then went To Georgia. Tech and you,
- 35:24Speaker 2: know he started forty three games in. College they love.
- 35:27Speaker 2: That you, know more than ninety percent came in the right,
- 35:30Speaker 2: Guard so he's a right.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Guard started his career off At Middle Tennessee, State so
- 35:34Speaker 1: he's a he's A, yeah he's.
- 35:37Speaker 4: A fighting Read. Blankenship that's what we'll call.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Him, Yeah Kevin byard as, well, right that's, Right Kevin,
- 35:43Speaker 2: byron that's. Right.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Yeah Manuel pregnant Uh gregg is a guy that From
- 35:50Speaker 3: margan that a lot of people, like what are your
- 35:51Speaker 3: thoughts on?
- 35:51Speaker 2: Him? Yeah and he looks the part for. Sure you,
- 35:55Speaker 2: know he's he's one of those guys he just if
- 35:57Speaker 2: you see, him you go by that guy's a. Guard
- 35:59Speaker 2: but you know he's, long you, know it's really big time.
- 36:04Speaker 2: WINGSPAN i thought that he was one of those guys
- 36:08Speaker 2: that his good plays were really, good like what there
- 36:11Speaker 2: were some running plays where he just ate up defensive,
- 36:15Speaker 2: TACKLES i, mean you know where he just drove them
- 36:18Speaker 2: out of the. GAP i, mean he really really, good
- 36:22Speaker 2: and in pass pro there were great examples where he
- 36:25Speaker 2: just had powerful strikes with his. Hands so his good
- 36:28Speaker 2: plays were really really. GOOD i, mean he did exactly
- 36:32Speaker 2: in the run game what they kind of teach, you
- 36:34Speaker 2: where he just the leverage where you drive up and
- 36:37Speaker 2: through defensive linemen and he looked great doing. It BUT
- 36:41Speaker 2: i would say he also had some really bad snaps
- 36:43Speaker 2: where he got his body over his feet and just
- 36:46Speaker 2: really struggled to sustain. Blocks AND i think there's some
- 36:50Speaker 2: stiffness to his overall, movement and he had a tendency
- 36:53Speaker 2: to get his base too wide and pass, pro SO
- 36:56Speaker 2: i think it's. There you look at him and you, go,
- 36:58Speaker 2: wow this guy looks exactly like what a guard should look.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Like but you, know there was there were some inconsistencies
- 37:06Speaker 2: and in how he. Played but if you could get
- 37:09Speaker 2: him to, play you, know with the good plays, MORE
- 37:12Speaker 2: i think you'd have something with this.
- 37:13Speaker 4: Kid all, right let's finish it off With Jake slaughter.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Center, Yeah and LIKE i Mentioned slaughter, earlier because he's
- 37:21Speaker 2: he's over sixty four and you know one THING i
- 37:25Speaker 2: hear From oline coaches a lot of them like length at,
- 37:28Speaker 2: center you, know and again you, know, look we always
- 37:31Speaker 2: know that big and good is better than small and.
- 37:33Speaker 2: Good you, know that's just pretty much at every, position
- 37:36Speaker 2: that's what you really. Like BUT i Think slaughter is
- 37:41Speaker 2: is you, know one of those. Guys he's got a
- 37:43Speaker 2: lot of length to. Him he's basically six. Five you,
- 37:47Speaker 2: know it's odd because of his height that he doesn't
- 37:50Speaker 2: have really long, arms but they're fine for a. Center
- 37:53Speaker 2: but you, KNOW i think you're dealing with a guy
- 37:56Speaker 2: that that you, know he can make those those base
- 37:59Speaker 2: and drive in the run, game he moves his feet
- 38:02Speaker 2: to sustain you, KNOW i, think, uh, OVERALL i think
- 38:07Speaker 2: this guy is a really good. PROSPECT i, mean he
- 38:09Speaker 2: can the size gives him better leverage to control those
- 38:13Speaker 2: zero and one technique. Dtackles you know we talk about
- 38:16Speaker 2: the phrase is snap to step. Quickness he's got that
- 38:21Speaker 2: uses his hands. WELL i remember watching him last year
- 38:24Speaker 2: the way he just ate Up texas Linebacker Anthony, hill
- 38:27Speaker 2: who's probably going to be a top sixty, pick you, know,
- 38:31Speaker 2: so and he's he's very, athletic moves exceptionally. Well he
- 38:35Speaker 2: can get to that second, level AS i, mentioned because
- 38:37Speaker 2: he Blocked. Hill slaughter's a really intriguing. Guy to, me
- 38:42Speaker 2: It's i'm gonna be fascinating to see where he's. DRAFTED
- 38:45Speaker 2: i would bet that teams that that want their you,
- 38:50Speaker 2: know athletic, Alignment. Jeff when you started our conversation with
- 38:54Speaker 2: you were talking about The. Eagles BUT i would bet
- 38:56Speaker 2: that teams that want an ATHLETIC o line and an athletics,
- 39:00Speaker 2: center you, know to fit that kind of, scheme will
- 39:02Speaker 2: look very positively At Jake.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Slaughter all, Right, Uh Jake slaughter also another, guy uh
- 39:09Speaker 1: twenty nine in the bench that was that was number,
- 39:11Speaker 1: one so got some good strength and power.
- 39:14Speaker 4: There as you were, mentioning.
- 39:16Speaker 1: All, right that is it for offensive. Linemen we've done,
- 39:19Speaker 1: quarterbacks running, backs wide, receivers tight, ends and we finished
- 39:22Speaker 1: off offensive prospects with the offensive. Line that means the
- 39:26Speaker 1: next time a year from us we turn the page
- 39:28Speaker 1: and get to the defensive prospects for THE nfl. Draft
- 39:31Speaker 1: that's gonna do. It and For Greg cosell And Adam,
- 39:34Speaker 1: Kaplan I'm Jeff. Mosher you have been watching the intel
- 39:37Speaker 1: With Greg cosell on inside The birds
