- 0:17Speaker 1: to uh Doreen, Duchess County. Doreen. How you doing fine? Mark?
- 0:21Speaker 3: How are you today?
- 0:22Speaker 1: Good?
- 0:24Speaker 3: I have a question. Yesterday I went to renew my
- 0:26Speaker 3: license and they have a new procedure. They asked you
- 0:30Speaker 3: if you want to change your voting party or or
- 0:33Speaker 3: you register to vote there. Question is with all those
- 0:37Speaker 3: illegal licenses at in California and all over, I was
- 0:40Speaker 3: wondering how they did it.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. Did you have to show any
- 0:44Speaker 1: kinds of ID or anything?
- 0:45Speaker 3: Or I had my ID there? And then another time
- 0:49Speaker 3: when I was in the Bronx, I got a pamphlet
- 0:52Speaker 3: that was already checked off for the Democratic Party and
- 0:55Speaker 3: they asked me to sign it and mail it in.
- 0:57Speaker 3: But I'm a Republican. So they have other ways been
- 1:00Speaker 3: with the voting registrations there and everything else.
- 1:03Speaker 1: That's true. Now when you say go to the Motor
- 1:05Speaker 1: Vehicle department, that's like a nightmare. If you're in the
- 1:07Speaker 1: middle of New York City. You have a waiting line
- 1:09Speaker 1: for ten hours. There's sixty thousand people. But you're in
- 1:11Speaker 1: Dutchess County, right, there's probably no line. It's a quiet
- 1:14Speaker 1: little Andy Green.
- 1:15Speaker 3: No, it's changing, Mark, No, it's changed. Oh, really saying
- 1:18Speaker 3: all over there's that urbanization all over. Now, that's what
- 1:22Speaker 3: Trump said that they wanted to do, and they did it.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Where are you in Dutchess County? Oh? I don't know
- 1:29Speaker 1: what that is, but it sounds fine.
- 1:30Speaker 3: It sounds one.
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's well, there you go. It's by Beakman.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Well, not bad place, all right.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Now it sounds nice. Thanks for calling.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Take care. Let's go to h Vincent and Brooklyn Vincent.
- 1:44Speaker 1: How you doing.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Good morning, Mark, Mark, I'm okay. I heard the clip
- 1:49Speaker 2: you played of Julia Mennon uh speaking about protecting the
- 1:54Speaker 2: houses of worship. Yeah, that's part of a larger interview
- 1:57Speaker 2: that she gave with John Kats and Matidi's on his
- 2:00Speaker 2: show yesterday, and he directly asked her about the real
- 2:06Speaker 2: estate and that the real estate community is really worried
- 2:10Speaker 2: and the reason why he mentioned it, and she totally
- 2:14Speaker 2: avoided the question. She's a co sponsor a lor with
- 2:19Speaker 2: counselwoman nurse who came up with this law that you
- 2:24Speaker 2: have to offer it to the nonprofit first and then secondly,
- 2:29Speaker 2: and I don't know how you're going to go to
- 2:31Speaker 2: contract with a private buyer. After you go to contract,
- 2:35Speaker 2: you have to then re offer it to them. And
- 2:38Speaker 2: she totally avoided the question because she is the co
- 2:44Speaker 2: sponsor of that law. And Michael Goodwin a couple of
- 2:49Speaker 2: weeks ago before she was inaugurated, Michael Goodwin talked about
- 2:55Speaker 2: that and he said he was hoping that Eric Adams
- 3:00Speaker 2: what she didn't do with a veto vito the law
- 3:04Speaker 2: because it wasn't veto proof they didn't have enough votes.
- 3:07Speaker 2: But he says, I doubt that because she's a co
- 3:11Speaker 2: sponsor of the law. So I heard her wiggling squeam.
- 3:15Speaker 2: You know, I wish you the best apecial, especially with
- 3:19Speaker 2: the houses of worship and the anti Semitic activity uh
- 3:24Speaker 2: going on in this city. But she avoided the question.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Listen, she's a slimy politician, but she's more of a
- 3:33Speaker 1: centrist than you usually get.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Oh no, definitely. That other one, well, was it Adriana
- 3:38Speaker 2: Adams who Yeah, well she was a cut off the
- 3:42Speaker 2: old She was a chip off the old man.
- 3:47Speaker 1: It's been a long time since we had a normal,
- 3:49Speaker 1: middle of.
- 3:50Speaker 2: The road moderate It's good. It boats well.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, Vincent, thanks for calling. It's just a
- 3:55Speaker 1: good especially when I'm Donnie in office. You want a
- 3:58Speaker 1: a centrist, modern city council speaker, and she is like
- 4:03Speaker 1: a not as good as Peter Valone, but like that
- 4:06Speaker 1: sort of person. So hey, there's a lot of restaurants
- 4:10Speaker 1: opening all over the place. Things are booming in New York.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Buildings are going up, skyscrapers everywhere. But we just lost
- 4:16Speaker 1: one of the great landmark theater restaurants Broadway Times Square,
- 4:21Speaker 1: Cafe Un d'utois been there fifty years. A lot of
- 4:26Speaker 1: famous faces in there, a lot of people in the
- 4:28Speaker 1: theater district. You know. The big, big, big Broadway restaurants
- 4:31Speaker 1: were Joe Allen orso Sardis and that one it's closing.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It doesn't say exactly why, just says too expensive expenses
- 4:41Speaker 1: of skyrocketed rent is very very very expensive. Employees also
- 4:47Speaker 1: added the ones hopping lunch business has dried up since
- 4:50Speaker 1: the pandemic. A lot of people not going back to
- 4:53Speaker 1: the office, so they go back like three days a week,
- 4:55Speaker 1: so it wasn't enough to keep them going, but a
- 4:58Speaker 1: lot of people went there through the years. Hey, when
- 5:00Speaker 1: we come back. Bruce Blakeman, best county executive in America
- 5:04Speaker 1: and the next governor of New York coming up. We'll
- 5:08Speaker 1: talk to him next on seven to ten wor
