- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, y'all gonna have to give us a second.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Because if you are near a TV, and thank you
- 1:32Speaker 7: for listening to us right now, as the last ten
- 1:36Speaker 7: minutes of the World Cup semi final between England and
- 1:41Speaker 7: Argentina has completely been flipped on its head.
- 1:48Speaker 4: I mean, folks, I kid you not. I was on
- 1:52Speaker 4: the feet southbound feeder about to loop around to come
- 1:55Speaker 4: to Crystal Park Plaza right in front of the Mercedes
- 1:58Speaker 4: Benz dealership. When Argentina levels, it is then a race
- 2:04Speaker 4: to get up here because now my whole narrative is changing.
- 2:09Speaker 4: And then Argentina scores off just a spectacular header. Both
- 2:14Speaker 4: goals were result of messy assists and.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Hasn't blown it yet.
- 2:22Speaker 4: And for my fellow or for my UK or my
- 2:27Speaker 4: English brethren, unfortunately it looks like it's not coming home again. Uh,
- 2:36Speaker 4: this it's going to be at this point, it's going
- 2:38Speaker 4: to be very tough for England to equalize. And they are,
- 2:41Speaker 4: they're they've got a they're going to get a few
- 2:43Speaker 4: extra minutes from from the goal scorer during stoppage time,
- 2:47Speaker 4: but they're running out of time.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Oh no, yep, he's given that the other way again.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Holy cow.
- 2:57Speaker 7: Like I'm I am in in shock in these and
- 3:00Speaker 7: literally the last ten minutes of this game as I
- 3:05Speaker 7: got up here to the studios and again seeing that
- 3:07Speaker 7: that England was up one nil, and like n the
- 3:12Speaker 7: blink of an eye.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Well, I mean it honestly, it honestly came about when
- 3:18Speaker 4: both sides started their substitutions coming coming off of the
- 3:24Speaker 4: hydration break. Argentina went, they pulled the defenders and went
- 3:27Speaker 4: with more attackers. England went the opposite way. They pulled
- 3:30Speaker 4: their attackers, put out more defenders, went to a five
- 3:33Speaker 4: to four to one, and now we've gone final in
- 3:36Speaker 4: Argentina will say this is I mean, I I was
- 3:42Speaker 4: talking with Kleb before before the show and he was asking,
- 3:46Speaker 4: you know why I'm rooting for England, and I was
- 3:48Speaker 4: saying honestly just because they've gone so long without winning.
- 3:52Speaker 4: But part of it's also it feels like Argentina's had
- 3:54Speaker 4: a lot of help, or maybe not a lot of help,
- 3:57Speaker 4: but they've had some help along the way to get
- 4:00Speaker 4: at this point. But you cannot I've watched every second
- 4:03Speaker 4: of this match. There there were no questionable calls, there
- 4:05Speaker 4: were there was nothing that makes me think that, you know,
- 4:08Speaker 4: there was some narrative going on. This was a classic bout.
- 4:13Speaker 4: England came out with a strategy early on that was
- 4:18Speaker 4: keeping Argentina from from being effective even getting shots on goal.
- 4:24Speaker 4: They got, they got a great goal off of Harry
- 4:27Speaker 4: Kane assist. But as was pointed out during halftime and
- 4:31Speaker 4: what was pointed out by countless pundits, if this the
- 4:37Speaker 4: longer this game goes on, the more it benefits Argentina,
- 4:42Speaker 4: and that's really was the case.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Well that continued like that continues, whether it's some of
- 4:48Speaker 7: how the question like Argentina throughout this entire tournament has
- 4:53Speaker 7: proven that and I know this is cliche and I
- 4:57Speaker 7: get it, and then you has proven that these matches
- 5:00Speaker 7: are not over until the until the referee blows that
- 5:04Speaker 7: final whistle.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I mean they've also they've also just proven kind of
- 5:10Speaker 4: the larger point. And I'm sure we will get into
- 5:12Speaker 4: this as we start talking World Cup big picture, that
- 5:19Speaker 4: soccer football, however you want to call it, depending on
- 5:22Speaker 4: your part of the world. This is a thinking man's game.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It is not about the best athletes. I mean, honestly,
- 5:29Speaker 4: look at Lionel Messi. He is short, he doesn't quite
- 5:33Speaker 4: have dad bod, but he is not a physical specimen
- 5:37Speaker 4: like you. You put him up against what top twenty
- 5:41Speaker 4: NFL wide receivers, He's not gonna be faster than than them,
- 5:44Speaker 4: but especially now at forty one. He's thirty one. But
- 5:52Speaker 4: if you and this, this doesn't just apply to Lionel Messi,
- 5:56Speaker 4: I mean, this is this is anyone on the pitch
- 5:57Speaker 4: right now. If you understand the game, if you have
- 6:01Speaker 4: grown up playing the game, and you see the field
- 6:04Speaker 4: and you see these passing lanes and you have just
- 6:08Speaker 4: expert ability with your feet, it doesn't matter if you're faster,
- 6:14Speaker 4: it matters can you can you serve it across the
- 6:18Speaker 4: field like he did in the ninety first minute to
- 6:22Speaker 4: a just a It was a perfect pass over every
- 6:26Speaker 4: other head except for the one that counted. Which was
- 6:29Speaker 4: Argentina player. Give me a second Martina. Yeah, it was
- 6:33Speaker 4: Martinez who.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Headed it in.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And I mean, that's that's what that's what you have
- 6:39Speaker 4: to do, especially in the World Cup, because we're not
- 6:42Speaker 4: talking about club soccer where you are putting together a
- 6:45Speaker 4: collection of the best players money can buy. This is
- 6:49Speaker 4: your squad, of your of your countrymen, and like him
- 6:54Speaker 4: or hate them. And I saw a great mean today.
- 6:58Speaker 4: It showed two maps of the world world. One was Argentina,
- 7:02Speaker 4: so it had the country color had the country cargin
- 7:05Speaker 4: Argentina colored in. The other had the rest of the
- 7:07Speaker 4: world colored in, and it was Artina. But you can't
- 7:13Speaker 4: deny this. This was a spectaclear match. This may I mean, uh,
- 7:20Speaker 4: I mean Argentina cape Verde was an all time classic.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Mexico England was an all time classic. This this is
- 7:28Speaker 4: going to rank up there.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Chip Hower Sports Talk.
- 7:34Speaker 4: Now that we can start the show.
- 7:35Speaker 7: Taken over today by Jason and Jared, Jason Grene, Jared
- 7:38Speaker 7: Hicks here, And like we said, you were just gonna
- 7:40Speaker 7: have to give us a second as this battle of
- 7:44Speaker 7: two world class soccer football teams were just going at
- 7:51Speaker 7: each other. And again, as we mentioned and Jared highlighted
- 7:54Speaker 7: like ten minutes before we're getting less than ten minutes.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Before we're gonna read it was because he even said it.
- 8:04Speaker 4: It's five minutes and with possible seven minutes of stoppage
- 8:09Speaker 4: time to go. So I mean just in I mean
- 8:16Speaker 4: just five I mean five minutes, just about five minutes
- 8:19Speaker 4: from maritime Yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 7: Oh my good Like and you're just sitting there watching
- 8:22Speaker 7: like it's one of those to where just like the
- 8:25Speaker 7: entire and England scores in the seventy seventh minutes and
- 8:29Speaker 7: so you're just thinking is this going to be the
- 8:32Speaker 7: end for Messi and Argentina and the run that they're on,
- 8:36Speaker 7: and like you're saying, is this going to be England's
- 8:39Speaker 7: time finally?
- 8:41Speaker 1: And it looked like especially.
- 8:43Speaker 7: After they get past Mexico in Mexico, like you're defeating
- 8:51Speaker 7: the Tea on their home, like, Okay, maybe this is
- 8:53Speaker 7: the chance for England to get to the final and make.
- 8:59Speaker 4: And I mean you you play an incredibly emotional and
- 9:03Speaker 4: physical match against Mexico, like you said in Azteca in
- 9:07Speaker 4: the house, you know, at the higher altitude all that stuff.
- 9:10Speaker 4: You then have to go play Norway in of all places,
- 9:15Speaker 4: Miami wait, hold on or no they were was that
- 9:19Speaker 4: in Boston?
- 9:19Speaker 1: I think that that one was Boston.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Okay, but you still have to go play Norway again,
- 9:26Speaker 4: another big physical team. UH, but you you played dominantly
- 9:33Speaker 4: and I mean like for eighty plus minutes of this match,
- 9:40Speaker 4: it really looked like England was in control. And especially
- 9:43Speaker 4: when you bring Dan Byrne on at the end. Towards
- 9:47Speaker 4: the end, you're thinking for sure this is now you're
- 9:50Speaker 4: in just shutdown mode. You're not gonna get anything past
- 9:53Speaker 4: the English defense, and then I mean it it was
- 9:57Speaker 4: mere minutes. I really do, I really do believe that
- 10:00Speaker 4: this was when when they when they do the forensics
- 10:03Speaker 4: on this is it's going to be the tactical changes
- 10:07Speaker 4: England made at the end that UH will end up
- 10:11Speaker 4: being assessed as what cost him. And I mean it's
- 10:15Speaker 4: going to be interesting to see, especially the English sports
- 10:20Speaker 4: UH pundits, because they're gonna they're going to be fire
- 10:25Speaker 4: firing it up in any second. Now when those when
- 10:29Speaker 4: those articles start coming across the pond.
- 10:30Speaker 1: What can you say?
- 10:32Speaker 7: And I hadn't planned, like you said, narratives have completely
- 10:35Speaker 7: changed on what we thought that they would be about.
- 10:37Speaker 7: What can you say about Lionel Messi, like you mentioned
- 10:42Speaker 7: how it's not about just being the most physically gifted,
- 10:45Speaker 7: it is knowing your game so well. And I know
- 10:48Speaker 7: so many people do these same types of comparison. But
- 10:51Speaker 7: when you talk about Tom Brady and being able to
- 10:54Speaker 7: play at the age that he was, and it was
- 10:56Speaker 7: because he knew exactly what he needed to do to
- 10:59Speaker 7: get exactly what he needed out of himself and his players.
- 11:02Speaker 7: And while Lebron James is more of a physical specimen
- 11:06Speaker 7: than either of them, you talk to anybody that has
- 11:08Speaker 7: played with or against Lebron James, he knows the game
- 11:12Speaker 7: better than anyone else and the only way that you can.
- 11:14Speaker 7: I mean again, he's probably more of a physical specimen
- 11:17Speaker 7: than the other two, but to be able to still
- 11:19Speaker 7: play at forty one, like he has to know the
- 11:23Speaker 7: game equally as well.
- 11:24Speaker 4: I think, I honestly believe when you in this, in
- 11:30Speaker 4: this comparison, yeah, Liono Messi is probably most comparable to
- 11:36Speaker 4: Lebron James because everyone was saying when he was back
- 11:41Speaker 4: in Akron in high school, he is, yes, like you
- 11:46Speaker 4: can see you can see everything right now.
- 11:48Speaker 7: He was going to if he could have been eligible
- 11:51Speaker 7: to play to go into the draft as a junior
- 11:53Speaker 7: in high school, he would have.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Been exactly That was the same for Liono Messi. When
- 11:57Speaker 4: he was fourteen fifteen years old, he was already being
- 12:00Speaker 4: identified as the next great one. Yes, and I mean
- 12:04Speaker 4: think about just kind of think about that as as
- 12:07Speaker 4: he is now thirty nine years old. That twenty four
- 12:10Speaker 4: years ago, he was already being identified as the next
- 12:13Speaker 4: great one out of all the talent in the world.
- 12:18Speaker 4: And that and so whereas Tom Brady, I believe his
- 12:23Speaker 4: greatness is going to ultimately come from the fact that
- 12:27Speaker 4: he he was more of a surprise than anything else.
- 12:31Speaker 4: And Bennett, well, and I mean, you know, in the
- 12:36Speaker 4: history of Michigan quarterbacks, when you look purely at college,
- 12:41Speaker 4: I mean, he's he's probably not even in the in
- 12:43Speaker 4: the history books in that regard other than just being mentioned.
- 12:46Speaker 4: But the difference was they he had. He had the
- 12:50Speaker 4: intangibles that once he had that team around him and
- 12:54Speaker 4: the coaching around him, they were able to be so dominant.
- 12:58Speaker 4: When you look at Argentina, the team is largely built
- 13:01Speaker 4: to facilitate Messi. Now it's not that Messi's going to
- 13:05Speaker 4: score everything, but they are there to basically fill in
- 13:09Speaker 4: the gaps to accentuate his ability, which again is already
- 13:17Speaker 4: next level compared to most of the players he's playing
- 13:20Speaker 4: with on the pitch, and we can and obviously we're
- 13:26Speaker 4: gonna not get what we kind of thought we were
- 13:28Speaker 4: gonna get about thirty two minutes ago with the Imbape
- 13:33Speaker 4: versus Lino Messi third third place final, which I would
- 13:40Speaker 4: expect both of them if Argentina had losses. I would
- 13:42Speaker 4: expect them both playing that because guess what those stats count.
- 13:45Speaker 4: So if you score goals in that.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Third five as they are still battling, they're.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Still battling out for the Golden Boot. But you know,
- 13:54Speaker 4: that's that is the thing about these truly generation players
- 14:01Speaker 4: Lebron James, Alino Messi. And I'm sorry, folks, I again
- 14:07Speaker 4: entire narrative had to shift as the show begins. So
- 14:11Speaker 4: I am blanking on because I'm trying to think of
- 14:13Speaker 4: even female athletes, I mean, Simone Biles. You know, these
- 14:17Speaker 4: generational athletes that just have all the have the the
- 14:20Speaker 4: tangible and intangible traits, including the mental fortitude to to
- 14:27Speaker 4: compete at this level for this long. I mean it,
- 14:33Speaker 4: that's why it's special. I mean that's why it's special.
- 14:35Speaker 4: I mean, that's why people are paying three and five
- 14:38Speaker 4: thousand dollars per ticket to see this live because you
- 14:42Speaker 4: are seeing something that you will you can tell kids
- 14:46Speaker 4: and tell your grandkids, because you're mentioning names that will
- 14:50Speaker 4: be echoed throughout time, like Maradonna, like Pele, you know,
- 14:57Speaker 4: going to I guess to bring it home. If for
- 15:00Speaker 4: Cowboys fans, you know, Roger Staubach and Emmett Smith and
- 15:05Speaker 4: guys like that.
- 15:07Speaker 1: This is an unreal.
- 15:11Speaker 7: And they're showing Buenos are like, I can't imagine what
- 15:15Speaker 7: it's like there right now, knowing how the last twenty
- 15:20Speaker 7: minutes or so have been for this match and how
- 15:24Speaker 7: important it was. And now Argentina is going up against
- 15:27Speaker 7: Spain in the final this weekend, and we're gonna come
- 15:33Speaker 7: take a break and come back and actually start the ship. Yes, yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 7: because again this was just too big of and wow,
- 15:42Speaker 7: just I'm still like literally in shock of how these
- 15:45Speaker 7: last few minutes of that match went.
- 15:46Speaker 1: As we got ready to come on the.
- 15:48Speaker 4: Air, me too.
- 15:49Speaker 7: Coming up in just a second, Jason and Jerr will
- 15:51Speaker 7: start chip Hower Sports SOK for you, and we will
- 15:54Speaker 7: start to talk about a lot of things, and I've
- 15:56Speaker 7: got a bunch of things that I kind of picked
- 15:58Speaker 7: out to go over in today's show. One of those
- 16:00Speaker 7: things that I pointed out to you, I told you
- 16:02Speaker 7: was going to happen.
- 16:03Speaker 1: That's coming up next.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Jipark Sports Talk taken over by Jason and Jared Sports

- 16:54Speaker 10: So the home run Derby in the MLB was last night.
- 16:56Speaker 10: But if you had to pick a derby winner for
- 16:59Speaker 10: May and m who would it be.
- 17:02Speaker 5: Rodiger's gonna say leavel it. But if it's home run
- 17:04Speaker 5: derby where they're just throwing your pitches to hit out, yeah,
- 17:08Speaker 5: I may have to go with the old freshman from
- 17:11Speaker 5: last year. Jordan Wilson. Okay, I mean, I mean, if
- 17:14Speaker 5: they're just throwing your meat balls to hit him.
- 17:16Speaker 11: Out, Dylan Roth is pretty darn good. Yeah, you can't
- 17:20Speaker 11: go wrong with Gavin. Gavin broke the freshman record that
- 17:23Speaker 11: Jay set this year. He got started late with home runs.
- 17:27Speaker 11: Just to make it different, I'm gonna go Gavin Grohovic.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I like that.
- 17:31Speaker 10: Yeah, I had. I just wrote down five so Jace, Caden, Jorian, Gavin,
- 17:37Speaker 10: and I had Blake Bender up in there as well.
- 17:40Speaker 11: Ronnie's sitting at home, Dylan Rock that a good pull.
- 17:44Speaker 9: Rock Techags Live weekdays from eight to eleven on the Zone.
- 18:07Speaker 1: Chip Howard Sports Talk.
- 18:09Speaker 7: On a Wednesday afternoon, Jason Cornelius Jared.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Hicks in.
- 18:17Speaker 4: For the remainder of the week yep, next three days,
- 18:24Speaker 4: we'll see how the man.
- 18:26Speaker 1: We got some rain yesterday.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Some I know Jennifer Nations occasionally listens to the show.
- 18:36Speaker 4: We do appreciate her support, and I do count her
- 18:38Speaker 4: as part of one of our seventy eight, seventy nine,
- 18:40Speaker 4: maybe even eighty one listeners. Now, actually, if Audre's listening,
- 18:44Speaker 4: by the way, Audra's shoot me a text, that would
- 18:47Speaker 4: that would put us into the eighties. But one of
- 18:50Speaker 4: the things Jennifer always preaches about is after a day
- 18:55Speaker 4: like yesterday, even even like half of what we got yesterday,
- 19:00Speaker 4: folks need to just turn off frinklers off. I try
- 19:06Speaker 4: to reiterate that now. This morning, I would have presumed
- 19:12Speaker 4: that my moisture detector was still wet enough that it
- 19:17Speaker 4: would have done the cutoff to the system. No, it
- 19:21Speaker 4: was running, so I quickly turned it off. It had
- 19:22Speaker 4: been running for about twenty five minutes. But one of
- 19:25Speaker 4: the things I noticed is I was I was heading
- 19:28Speaker 4: to the gym this morning, was and this is early,
- 19:30Speaker 4: this is pretty six o'clock. There were eight other houses
- 19:34Speaker 4: on my street sprinkler's running, and I'm sure we all
- 19:38Speaker 4: assumed the same thing, and we all got burned. That's
- 19:41Speaker 4: why you have to turn it on.
- 19:43Speaker 7: I just went out, I went there the last night,
- 19:44Speaker 7: just turned it off, just slet out, just said nope,
- 19:46Speaker 7: don't even.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Take the chance. Yeah, turned it off.
- 19:48Speaker 7: You mentioned Dodgers. She was here with us last time.
- 19:50Speaker 7: She broke out the a change in the NCAA eligibility
- 19:56Speaker 7: rules that said, it doesn't matter what you do, whether
- 20:01Speaker 7: when you graduate high school or when you turn nineteen,
- 20:03Speaker 7: you've got five years to be able to play in
- 20:06Speaker 7: the NC Double A. And what did all of us
- 20:09Speaker 7: say as we were sitting here in this room was
- 20:13Speaker 7: going to happen?
- 20:16Speaker 4: The lawsuits shall commence in the NC DOUBA shall power
- 20:22Speaker 4: because they do not have the legal capacity to fight
- 20:25Speaker 4: against well versed attorneys and.
- 20:29Speaker 7: The NC double And this is the first of what
- 20:33Speaker 7: is going to be dozens, if not upon dozens of
- 20:38Speaker 7: lawsuits against the NC Double A because and especially now
- 20:43Speaker 7: that these student athletes are getting paid the NC Double A.
- 20:47Speaker 7: And just like I talked about, and we've talked about
- 20:49Speaker 7: so many times. I'm sure people like they always talk
- 20:52Speaker 7: about the business and sport, Yeah we do.
- 20:54Speaker 1: But here's the thing about the NC Double A doesn't
- 20:56Speaker 1: have the.
- 20:56Speaker 7: Power to tell people when and for how long they
- 21:00Speaker 7: get to work and earn money. And that is what
- 21:03Speaker 7: these first law that's what this first lawsuit is coming
- 21:06Speaker 7: to say, is saying you were irreparably harming me because
- 21:10Speaker 7: you're telling me how long I can earn and the
- 21:12Speaker 7: NT double A right now doesn't have the power to
- 21:15Speaker 7: do that at least, that's what these lawsuits are going
- 21:16Speaker 7: to say.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Well, and one of the things I mentioned on that
- 21:21Speaker 4: broadcast was the fact this is going to become unless
- 21:27Speaker 4: a federal law has passed. And honestly, I don't think
- 21:31Speaker 4: you can get enough compromise and concise mindset up in
- 21:39Speaker 4: DC to do a federal law of this magnitude. This
- 21:44Speaker 4: is going to become a state by state issue. I mean,
- 21:46Speaker 4: the you know, first lawsuit was filed in Ohio. This
- 21:51Speaker 4: most recent one, this group of eleven athletes was filed
- 21:54Speaker 4: in Colorado. You can even I mean, I'm not defending
- 21:59Speaker 4: sores be in any way, shape or form, absolutely not.
- 22:01Speaker 4: His lawsuit that again, a district judge sided with them
- 22:08Speaker 4: basically pointed to these same these same matters, and so
- 22:11Speaker 4: you almost now you basically have a precedent set.
- 22:16Speaker 7: All of them are all precedents, like all of them
- 22:18Speaker 7: are going basically off of the same precedent that the
- 22:21Speaker 7: NC double A doesn't have the antitrust protections to be
- 22:27Speaker 7: able to tell these these athletes what they can and
- 22:31Speaker 7: cannot do. Because again, as I've talked about when even
- 22:35Speaker 7: going back to when when I was playing, and what
- 22:38Speaker 7: the NC double A did back then, like if you
- 22:40Speaker 7: were in the band, if you were a just a
- 22:44Speaker 7: student on any other scholarship other than an athletic scholarship,
- 22:48Speaker 7: it didn't matter what. You could have a job, you
- 22:50Speaker 7: could do anything you want to earn your own income,
- 22:53Speaker 7: except if you were a student athlete. And now that
- 22:55Speaker 7: that damn has been broken, there is I as you
- 22:59Speaker 7: and I can continue to talk about, there is nothing
- 23:01Speaker 7: that the NC double A will be able to do
- 23:03Speaker 7: to keep this in place. And again you and I
- 23:05Speaker 7: are not defending swordsby but that's what he like. It's
- 23:08Speaker 7: the It's the exact same no matter how the lawyer's
- 23:10Speaker 7: word it, the premise is the same.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Who is the NC double A to tell me what
- 23:15Speaker 1: I can and can't do to earn money? Correct?
- 23:17Speaker 7: And that's where this is going to continue. And again,
- 23:19Speaker 7: this is just going to be the first one, well.
- 23:21Speaker 4: And I mean again, and because honestly, we kind of
- 23:27Speaker 4: we kind of believe that ultimately this is going to
- 23:32Speaker 4: lead to and you're going to see it in football
- 23:36Speaker 4: where a conference believes it had and they, I mean
- 23:41Speaker 4: they already really do has more power than what the
- 23:43Speaker 4: NC double A, and so they will they will flat
- 23:46Speaker 4: out say if if the NC DOUBLEA wants to go
- 23:49Speaker 4: this route, well, we have the television contract, we can
- 23:54Speaker 4: just take our ball and go over here, because we
- 23:57Speaker 4: have the money and we have the power, and we've
- 24:00Speaker 4: already proven that our attorneys are better than your attorneys.
- 24:03Speaker 4: So I really do believe.
- 24:06Speaker 1: This is.
- 24:09Speaker 4: It is an issue that they had decades to work on.
- 24:16Speaker 4: They chose to punt. They chose to foolishly believe that
- 24:21Speaker 4: they could keep the ruse going. Supreme Court completely decimated
- 24:25Speaker 4: them in a nine zero decision. And now you're you're
- 24:30Speaker 4: basically trying to to duct tape the broken dam. Water's
- 24:36Speaker 4: already pouring out.
- 24:37Speaker 1: And it's it's going to continue flooding out.
- 24:39Speaker 7: And again until and I've said this and continue to
- 24:45Speaker 7: say this, until the NCAA decides to get in this,
- 24:50Speaker 7: I don't even know how they would be able to
- 24:53Speaker 7: do this because of the amount of student athletes there
- 24:56Speaker 7: are across multiple levels to be able to bring this
- 25:00Speaker 7: to some sort of collective bargaining where the the athletes
- 25:05Speaker 7: have some sort of I wouldn't I wouldn't call it
- 25:08Speaker 7: a union because it's it would be too large for
- 25:11Speaker 7: it to be union, but some type of group setting
- 25:13Speaker 7: to be able to collectively bargain the the contracts of
- 25:17Speaker 7: how this is going to work. They will continue to
- 25:21Speaker 7: keep getting backhanded by every judge that when when they
- 25:26Speaker 7: bring up these different rules that you can't because now
- 25:28Speaker 7: again every single time it's you were you were telling
- 25:31Speaker 7: me what how much money I can make or for
- 25:34Speaker 7: how long I can make it? And the n C
- 25:36Speaker 7: double A doesn't have the authority to do that.
- 25:38Speaker 4: No, And you know is as odd or pointed out this,
- 25:43Speaker 4: this eligibility rule only applies to D one. So you're
- 25:48Speaker 4: already in a sense using use or basically penalizing a
- 25:58Speaker 4: particular segment or group. Again, I know they are, they are,
- 26:08Speaker 4: They're trying to bring some sanity back to this because
- 26:11Speaker 4: we because you know, when you're talking about some of
- 26:16Speaker 4: these players and we mentioned Carson Beck and Diego Pavla
- 26:21Speaker 4: and yeah. I mean when you're on your ninth you're
- 26:26Speaker 4: you're literally your ninth year of eligibility in C double A.
- 26:31Speaker 4: That's pretty dad Gama absurd.
- 26:33Speaker 1: It is, I mean, one thousand produce.
- 26:37Speaker 4: As we've pointed out, there is no minor league, professor,
- 26:43Speaker 4: there's no minor league to professional football. This is it.
- 26:46Speaker 4: It's college football. And now you've now there is an
- 26:51Speaker 4: ability to make NFL esque money.
- 26:57Speaker 7: Like you're making more as a scene you're at a top,
- 27:01Speaker 7: like if you're the starting Carson Beck was making more.
- 27:03Speaker 7: He's he's making more as a senior at the University
- 27:06Speaker 7: of Miami than he will as a rookie rookie contract.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, and and that's just the money that
- 27:12Speaker 4: we know about. I mean, there's all the perks that
- 27:14Speaker 4: come along with it, which will kind of probably get
- 27:19Speaker 4: into when we start talking a little bit of NBA
- 27:21Speaker 4: and free agency and all that kind of stuff. But
- 27:24Speaker 4: you know, again you have there there has to be
- 27:30Speaker 4: a way to to try and whittle down the the
- 27:37Speaker 4: eligibility you know that extends beyond I would say, what
- 27:40Speaker 4: you know, they chose five. You can probably make an
- 27:43Speaker 4: argument that six is reasonable. When you start approaching the decade.
- 27:47Speaker 4: That's obviously when it starts getting pretty pretty absurd.
- 27:50Speaker 1: You were no longer a student asset, and.
- 27:54Speaker 4: And that's it. And you know that's kind of the
- 27:55Speaker 4: other part of it. And again there, I mean, there's
- 28:00Speaker 4: there's ways to be fraudulent in this when you're talking
- 28:04Speaker 4: about when you're talking about the student athletes that have
- 28:07Speaker 4: clearly finished schooling.
- 28:10Speaker 1: Again, Carson Well is not going to school.
- 28:12Speaker 4: Well, even his predecessor at Georgia, I mean Stetson.
- 28:15Speaker 1: Bennett was in his eighth year.
- 28:17Speaker 4: Yeah, he was in his eighth year.
- 28:18Speaker 12: I mean he was.
- 28:19Speaker 4: And you got to know, all he was doing was
- 28:22Speaker 4: preparing for starting his own group of Kia dealerships in
- 28:27Speaker 4: the Greater Georgia area post college because he ain't gonna
- 28:30Speaker 4: play in the NFL for any amount of time.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But that's the point.
- 28:34Speaker 7: And you say, this is the minor leagues, but you're
- 28:37Speaker 7: making as much, if not more than the professionals are.
- 28:42Speaker 7: And that's where I go back to, how can the
- 28:45Speaker 7: NCAA tell me?
- 28:46Speaker 4: And they can't. I mean, again, this is part of
- 28:48Speaker 4: the reason why. And I was having this discussion with
- 28:52Speaker 4: with coach early about two years ago. If you're college
- 29:00Speaker 4: baseball player, there's I mean, there's really no reason to
- 29:04Speaker 4: go to the miners unless you're a first round draft.
- 29:06Speaker 4: You will make significantly more money.
- 29:09Speaker 13: And go riding around on something and have better accommodations
- 29:13Speaker 13: in n C Double A baseball than you will if
- 29:16Speaker 13: you were playing for the Toledo mud Hens or you
- 29:19Speaker 13: know whomever.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Especially if if you're not going to be called up
- 29:23Speaker 4: to the show within a year or so. I mean that,
- 29:26Speaker 4: And you know, going back to to you know, the
- 29:28Speaker 4: five year rule. You know that that was used to
- 29:32Speaker 4: be the bread and butter of of some college UH programs,
- 29:36Speaker 4: including Texas A and M. Because I'm thinking back to
- 29:39Speaker 4: Mark Ferris. You want to get that that uh, that
- 29:42Speaker 4: baseball player who got drafted and never really got out
- 29:45Speaker 4: of the miners. But man, he can come back. He
- 29:48Speaker 4: can sling, he can sling the ball, and more importantly,
- 29:51Speaker 4: he's mature so he can be a team leader.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Yep.
- 29:54Speaker 4: I mean you're I don't think you'll you'll probably see
- 29:57Speaker 4: that even without the five year rule, You're not going
- 29:59Speaker 4: to see that, Moore, because now those guys, they're going
- 30:01Speaker 4: to stay in college baseball longer, much longer to then
- 30:05Speaker 4: have the opportunity to go to majors.
- 30:07Speaker 7: This is I just I saw this when I was
- 30:09Speaker 7: sitting there, and not that I was just like oh,
- 30:12Speaker 7: but like we all knew that this was going to come,
- 30:15Speaker 7: because again when you talk about that Supreme Court decision,
- 30:18Speaker 7: when you talk about all the court cases leading up
- 30:20Speaker 7: to even the new ones, and again not at all
- 30:24Speaker 7: defending Swordsby, but it's all the same thing. Who is
- 30:28Speaker 7: the NC DOUBLEA And how can they tell me how
- 30:30Speaker 7: long I can do this and how much money I
- 30:32Speaker 7: can make?
- 30:32Speaker 1: Because you cannot do that anymore. No. No.
- 30:36Speaker 7: Two to one was the final for Argentina and England.
- 30:41Speaker 7: We're going to get into that a little bit more

- 34:39Speaker 7: Sder in the sky Chip Sports Soccer Wednesday afternoon. If
- 34:47Speaker 7: you were with us at the start of the show
- 34:51Speaker 7: when we didn't start the show because Argentina and England
- 34:55Speaker 7: were going at it, and Argentina scores two goals in
- 35:00Speaker 7: the last seven minutes and they didn't even they did
- 35:05Speaker 7: that before it even got the stoppage time or.
- 35:08Speaker 1: It was actually in stoppage time.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Yeah, the first the first Argentina goal comes right at
- 35:13Speaker 4: the ninetieth minute. Yeah, so I mean they they scored
- 35:17Speaker 4: about it, well eighty is it being rual old, I'm
- 35:21Speaker 4: sorry that.
- 35:22Speaker 1: We're looking that up. That's exactly when they came in.
- 35:25Speaker 4: Come on.
- 35:27Speaker 1: And then Argentina go.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Yeah, eighty fifth minute.
- 35:31Speaker 1: And so yeah, the.
- 35:32Speaker 7: Live shot here from Buenos Aires, and I again, I
- 35:36Speaker 7: can't imagine what it's like there right now, because you
- 35:39Speaker 7: and I, like you said you were, were screaming in
- 35:43Speaker 7: trying to get into the studio after picking the girls up.
- 35:46Speaker 4: I think I honestly believed we were going to extra time,
- 35:49Speaker 4: and that's why I was trying to get up here.
- 35:51Speaker 4: It's like, okay, we need to get up here, get
- 35:52Speaker 4: the get the game on, start formulating what we're going
- 35:56Speaker 4: to talk, how we're gonna how we're gonna do this
- 35:58Speaker 4: because we're probably going the extra time at one one.
- 36:01Speaker 4: And as I'm getting set up, just a spectacular header
- 36:06Speaker 4: from Martinez and again just shows you the.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Just the.
- 36:13Speaker 4: I hate to use the word blessing, but the blessing
- 36:15Speaker 4: is to watch someone with the skill of a Lionel
- 36:19Speaker 4: Messi or a Chillian and Bope or you know. For
- 36:23Speaker 4: for me and I'm I don't have an England jersey,
- 36:29Speaker 4: so I'm wearing my white twenty nineteen Liverpool kit because
- 36:33Speaker 4: it's it's the only English thing I have that's red,
- 36:36Speaker 4: white and blue. You know, to see Mosala do something
- 36:43Speaker 4: as spectacular as that, and especially if you are a
- 36:46Speaker 4: nation like Argentina and you saw the I mean you
- 36:49Speaker 4: saw the crowd in Buenos Aires, the crowd they showed
- 36:53Speaker 4: a video of the crowd in Atlanta outside the stadium.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I would say based on the crowdshots I saw of
- 37:03Speaker 4: Atlanta Stadium also known as Mercedes Benz Stadium. I love
- 37:07Speaker 4: the fact when they have the roof closed, they still
- 37:09Speaker 4: that you can't cover up that logo. It's too big.
- 37:14Speaker 4: That that crowd was probably sixty forty Argentina to England.
- 37:18Speaker 1: About that, yeah, yeah, I mean the.
- 37:21Speaker 4: Obviously the big problem we've had with both semi finals
- 37:25Speaker 4: is the lower bowl, especially behind the goals. Those are
- 37:28Speaker 4: basically all corporate tickets and so you know, you don't
- 37:32Speaker 4: necessarily have the the visiting country supporters sitting behind the
- 37:39Speaker 4: goal like you had in all your other matches. But
- 37:44Speaker 4: one of the things, I guess this is just kind
- 37:46Speaker 4: of the El Siico in me show me video of
- 37:50Speaker 4: the pubs in England. Oh, especially after that second goal,
- 37:55Speaker 4: because over there it's ten. It was ten, was about
- 37:59Speaker 4: ten thirty at night when that second goal got Ford,
- 38:04Speaker 4: and I cannot imagine how some of those fans, some
- 38:08Speaker 4: of those fans and some of those pubs took that,
- 38:11Speaker 4: because that is just that's the collective.
- 38:15Speaker 7: I'm surprised with it here that here the collective grown
- 38:20Speaker 7: of an entire country just lose it when that second
- 38:25Speaker 7: goal goes in, like I like, and of course because
- 38:28Speaker 7: you've been like I can't imagine what like if it was,
- 38:34Speaker 7: and like it like just the the the picturing it was,
- 38:37Speaker 7: it just like just straight depression. When does the anger
- 38:41Speaker 7: set in, Like cause, I mean again from the seventies,
- 38:45Speaker 7: for at the seventy seventh minute and you're up and
- 38:48Speaker 7: and things are just going we like.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I'm sure the pipes were flowing even more by then.
- 38:53Speaker 4: I'm I'm if I'm having to guess, and I'm sure
- 38:57Speaker 4: videos will make their way online shortly when the first
- 39:01Speaker 4: goal gets scored. I'm sure there is just kind of
- 39:05Speaker 4: a sudden sickening feeling because it's like.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Here it comes here, it comes battered lion syndrome.
- 39:12Speaker 4: Yeap, Do they have that there when it comes when
- 39:16Speaker 4: it comes to the national team, Yes, I mean without question,
- 39:21Speaker 4: because it it doesn't matter if it's the Euros, it
- 39:24Speaker 4: doesn't matter if it's World Cup. It just they they
- 39:27Speaker 4: come so close and it gets.
- 39:30Speaker 7: Snatched and it was like today they didn't lose that game, No,
- 39:35Speaker 7: it was taken from him, like they didn't give it away,
- 39:39Speaker 7: like it was aking well and from.
- 39:42Speaker 4: Them and you know is they're showing, is they're showing
- 39:45Speaker 4: the video and apparently Jude Bellingham also got into a
- 39:48Speaker 4: shoving match at the end of the match. But they're showing,
- 39:51Speaker 4: they're showing, especially Jude, because he has been so instrumental
- 39:56Speaker 4: in this England run, scoring, you know, actually getting himself
- 40:00Speaker 4: in the competition for the Golden Boot and he he
- 40:03Speaker 4: was just he could not get anything going today. Unfortunately. Uh,
- 40:10Speaker 4: the lone England goal came from Anthony Gordon, which you
- 40:14Speaker 4: kind of felt like as the match was progressing, the
- 40:16Speaker 4: fact that Harry Kane had not been able to score,
- 40:19Speaker 4: you Bellingham not been able to score, you figured it's
- 40:21Speaker 4: going to come from someone like a Gordon or a
- 40:23Speaker 4: Soaka to to to give England that one.
- 40:28Speaker 7: And you that gives you that magic feeling of like, God,
- 40:32Speaker 7: we're getting a goal from someone that nobody.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Expects exactly and and so I and I'm sure and
- 40:39Speaker 4: and you really and you saw it on in Bobby's
- 40:41Speaker 4: face yesterday with with the the France loss, that your tea,
- 40:47Speaker 4: you you carry that weight that your team is counting
- 40:50Speaker 4: on you to pull a goal out when seemingly no
- 40:53Speaker 4: one else can do it and you just can't do it.
- 40:55Speaker 4: And just how heartbreaking it is because as we pointed out,
- 41:03Speaker 4: it's gonna be another four years before you get an
- 41:05Speaker 4: opportunity to do this again.
- 41:06Speaker 7: That is something I can't, like, I can't imagine what
- 41:11Speaker 7: the weight of that feels like when it's like with
- 41:16Speaker 7: with a lot of these teams and they they're they're
- 41:19Speaker 7: speaking of expanding this even more, which based on this one,
- 41:23Speaker 7: based on this I think would be good. One thing
- 41:26Speaker 7: I was laughing about that when I saw that they
- 41:28Speaker 7: were thinking about expanding this to sixty four. Not every
- 41:32Speaker 7: host country will have the amount of stadiums as the
- 41:37Speaker 7: three of us did, and you're in Canada, Mexico and
- 41:40Speaker 7: the United States, or even have the amount of stadiums
- 41:42Speaker 7: that the United States have because like every other country
- 41:45Speaker 7: when they're having to host the World Cup, they're having
- 41:47Speaker 7: to build extra stadiums. And so I'm wondering how expanding
- 41:51Speaker 7: this to sixty four is going to look at that.
- 41:53Speaker 7: But back to this match, I'm just like, oh, I
- 41:56Speaker 7: can't imagine, like after like what that's going to be like.
- 41:59Speaker 7: Because again I know Ronaldo said this was his last
- 42:04Speaker 7: has Cane said.
- 42:06Speaker 4: Pain has not. He's he's actually young.
- 42:11Speaker 7: Yeah, he's younger than MESSI right, but still, but four
- 42:15Speaker 7: years is four years is a long time.
- 42:17Speaker 4: And he I mean his his body has has taken
- 42:22Speaker 4: you know, the game has taken a toll on his body,
- 42:26Speaker 4: and especially now that he's playing in the Bundesligue.
- 42:30Speaker 1: But I mean, oh, he's younger than I thought. He's
- 42:32Speaker 1: only he's thirty two.
- 42:33Speaker 4: He's thirty two. If you want something that will really
- 42:36Speaker 4: blow your mind. And Bobby's only twenty seven. The man
- 42:40Speaker 4: looks like he's thirty eight. I mean when when they
- 42:46Speaker 4: told when I saw his age, I'm like, I know,
- 42:51Speaker 4: I know he's European. I know he's not you know,
- 42:54Speaker 4: he's not smoking the cigarettes and doing all that. But
- 42:56Speaker 4: my god, he looks old. He looks old for twenty seven.
- 43:01Speaker 4: But dad gum, is he so good. I mean, he's
- 43:04Speaker 4: just he's just been entertaining as heck to watch anyway,
- 43:09Speaker 4: I would, I would presume Cain comes. He'll make the
- 43:12Speaker 4: squad in four years. Now will he be will he
- 43:16Speaker 4: be able to play eighty to ninety minutes at that
- 43:19Speaker 4: point in time? Well, I mean we'll see U. I
- 43:22Speaker 4: mean MESSI was a MESSI was able to go the
- 43:24Speaker 4: distance today. You know Ronaldo that that's more just politics
- 43:31Speaker 4: with the national team, but I mean he he was
- 43:34Speaker 4: still able to play. So we'll we'll, we'll ultimately see
- 43:37Speaker 4: we do at least kind of get an entertaining third
- 43:40Speaker 4: place match against with France and England. It might be
- 43:44Speaker 4: a It may be a.
- 43:47Speaker 12: Preview of the Euros in three years, although I do
- 43:52Speaker 12: believe the other team representing Europe that's going to be
- 43:56Speaker 12: in the final.
- 43:58Speaker 4: We might be looking at a putt In dynasty with Spain.
- 44:02Speaker 1: With Spain, yeah, they're looking very good too.
- 44:04Speaker 4: And they're young.
- 44:06Speaker 7: Coming back in just a second, Jason and Jared as
- 44:08Speaker 7: traffic continues to flow on on on Highway six. Looking
- 44:12Speaker 7: good right now, but we'll be back in just a second.

- 47:26Speaker 3: Houston Astros play on the on the Zone.
- 47:29Speaker 1: Thanks to Kelly bird Dozer.
- 47:59Speaker 7: You and I have lost track of how many years
- 48:02Speaker 7: we've been doing this, but we've been coming up here
- 48:06Speaker 7: to Crystal Park Plaza for quite some time, and in.
- 48:12Speaker 1: All those years, like.
- 48:16Speaker 7: We know that when it rains heavily, stay away from
- 48:21Speaker 7: the back parking lot.
- 48:22Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, I thought for sure we were going
- 48:27Speaker 4: to get another viral video.
- 48:30Speaker 1: How is that not? Like?
- 48:31Speaker 7: How is how is that not known in the city
- 48:33Speaker 7: of College Station that this this building on the side
- 48:38Speaker 7: B Creek runs.
- 48:39Speaker 4: Through the back of that Not just that, I mean
- 48:44Speaker 4: a first and foremost I was so glad that we
- 48:47Speaker 4: didn't have to host yesterday because that's all I could
- 48:50Speaker 4: think about was that parking lot. But more importantly, I
- 48:55Speaker 4: mean it was just a year ago, yep, that the
- 48:58Speaker 4: video went not to viral, it was on national news.
- 49:03Speaker 4: It is the perfect example of turnaround, don't drown, do
- 49:06Speaker 4: not drive into a a boy water that you can't
- 49:12Speaker 4: you do not know.
- 49:13Speaker 7: You can't see it, like when that backparking lot flowed,
- 49:16Speaker 7: you can't see anything.
- 49:18Speaker 4: And basic only the video yesterday. I think yesterday was
- 49:20Speaker 4: even worse. Yesterday looked like it was so much muddier
- 49:22Speaker 4: than what it normally is, and so it was almost
- 49:24Speaker 4: impossible to tell what was parking lot and what was
- 49:27Speaker 4: water at certain points. So it's just like, don't even bother.
- 49:30Speaker 1: Don't yet turn around just to turn out.
- 49:32Speaker 7: But yeah, to see that it happened again, I'm just like,
- 49:34Speaker 7: you've got to be getting me.
- 49:36Speaker 4: So while we are on the subject, because you brought
- 49:38Speaker 4: up highway sex, yes, and I'm I'm very appreciative of
- 49:41Speaker 4: the fact. You know, our trusted local late night or
- 49:48Speaker 4: evening news anchor, Rusty Sirette has basically made it his
- 49:53Speaker 4: mission to to show the idiocracy that is driving in
- 49:59Speaker 4: vcs oh that one. Yes, folks, And I know I'm preaching.
- 50:04Speaker 4: I'm hopefully preaching to the choir here to our eighty
- 50:06Speaker 4: three listeners. But you, eighty three people know people, and
- 50:10Speaker 4: those people know people, and so we need to we
- 50:13Speaker 4: need to get this text chain going Highway six northbound
- 50:21Speaker 4: at the Texas Avenue exit.
- 50:23Speaker 1: But it's a left exit.
- 50:24Speaker 4: It's always been a left exit. Nothing has changed about
- 50:29Speaker 4: the fact that it is a left exit. The thing
- 50:31Speaker 4: that has changed now is there are concrete walls that
- 50:37Speaker 4: you need to make sure that you are in a
- 50:39Speaker 4: proper lane and know where you are headed before you
- 50:44Speaker 4: come to said exit, because I have he's been posting
- 50:48Speaker 4: the videos, but I've been witnessing this for weeks now
- 50:51Speaker 4: and it's driving me nuts. It's also another reason why
- 50:53Speaker 4: I am keeping like three or four carlingk distance. People
- 50:58Speaker 4: are for whatever reason, they are in the right lane
- 51:02Speaker 4: and at the last second decide now I'm gonna get
- 51:05Speaker 4: all the way over to the left to try and.
- 51:07Speaker 1: I'm supposed to get on Texas Avenue. Yes.
- 51:10Speaker 4: Conversely, there are people who are in the left lane
- 51:14Speaker 4: and I don't know if they're just following that yellow
- 51:17Speaker 4: line and then realize, Oh wait, I want to stay
- 51:19Speaker 4: on the highway and then all of a sudden violently
- 51:22Speaker 4: jerk to the right and are their Nascar rubbing the
- 51:27Speaker 4: vehicles next to them? Folks, it's sixty miles an hour.
- 51:32Speaker 4: Put some car, Just put a couple of car links
- 51:35Speaker 4: and know where you are going, because it's just gonna
- 51:39Speaker 4: get worse. This is happening now, Wait till school starts back,
- 51:44Speaker 4: Wait till the students come back. It's it's gonna be bad.
- 51:50Speaker 4: So let's get in the habit right now.
- 51:53Speaker 7: Because again, especially like if you're exiting, I mean either
- 51:57Speaker 7: of them on either side now with those concrete baits
- 52:00Speaker 7: are basically the death Star trench.
- 52:02Speaker 1: Yes, before like you you have to be oh I am,
- 52:05Speaker 1: I am?
- 52:06Speaker 4: And I have to exit Texas Avenue quite a bit.
- 52:09Speaker 4: I get so claustrophobic driving through there, and especially if
- 52:13Speaker 4: I see any kind of eighteen wheeler in front of me,
- 52:16Speaker 4: I'm just like, how are you even navigating?
- 52:18Speaker 7: It's not the it's not the northbound one where you
- 52:21Speaker 7: stay on Highay that gets me. It's the one where
- 52:23Speaker 7: you exit like and it's it gets it gets real
- 52:26Speaker 7: tight in there on a couple like on a couple
- 52:28Speaker 7: of terms before you get back on the main part
- 52:31Speaker 7: of Texas Avenue.
- 52:32Speaker 4: I joked. And this is not to impugne the work
- 52:35Speaker 4: of the construction of floor or any of the construction crews.
- 52:40Speaker 4: It just feels like this is a This is what
- 52:43Speaker 4: a three year old does with connects or whatever toys
- 52:49Speaker 4: they use to create walls. It it and and I
- 52:54Speaker 4: think the most deceiving part is that yellow stripe because
- 52:59Speaker 4: if you're if you're using that as your guideline, I
- 53:01Speaker 4: hate to break it to you, especially in the wee
- 53:04Speaker 4: hours of the morning, don't use the yellow lane. The
- 53:07Speaker 4: yellow line is your guideline because guess what, it runs
- 53:09Speaker 4: right into the wall. It's just there because it used
- 53:13Speaker 4: to be there. Yeah, I'm when I was on the
- 53:19Speaker 4: feeder just south of Rockberry, I hadn't realized all the
- 53:24Speaker 4: work they had done. That thing's the area between the
- 53:27Speaker 4: two walls Highway six to the feeder. It's just about level.
- 53:30Speaker 4: Oh yeah, if you think about I mean, I've been
- 53:33Speaker 4: impressed with how much earth they've brought in at University
- 53:37Speaker 4: in six to end up making what they're gonna have
- 53:39Speaker 4: to make there. That right there. I can't believe I've
- 53:42Speaker 4: never in forty years of living here, I've never seen
- 53:46Speaker 4: it level from feeder down the highway, and now it is.
- 53:49Speaker 1: That what I have heard.
- 53:52Speaker 7: I think we talked about this before, like tex Dot
- 53:54Speaker 7: said that they are not used to having this much
- 53:58Speaker 7: room basically to play. So when you're talking about like
- 54:01Speaker 7: it's it's kids with like the kinetic block and everything
- 54:04Speaker 7: like that, that's what I think it feels like for
- 54:06Speaker 7: them because they're used to working in much tighter spaces
- 54:09Speaker 7: to expand, and here, thankfully they've got the room to play.
- 54:15Speaker 7: As what they're doing, which is and I know, and
- 54:17Speaker 7: I know I am jinxing everybody here in the community.
- 54:20Speaker 7: It feels like they are moving at like warp speed.
- 54:24Speaker 4: No, it doesn't, I mean, it really is. I just
- 54:28Speaker 4: I love trying to figure out what what are they
- 54:33Speaker 4: How is this going to work? Because I can see
- 54:36Speaker 4: where they've poured and it's probably it's probably not the
- 54:39Speaker 4: permanent it's probably the temporary Texas Avenue exit and it
- 54:45Speaker 4: looks big and wide, but it seems to run right
- 54:47Speaker 4: into those giant concrete pillars that they're pouring right now.
- 54:51Speaker 4: So I'm I'm that part. I'm trying to figure out. Okay,
- 54:53Speaker 4: what is this going?
- 54:54Speaker 1: What I think and it took me on.
- 54:57Speaker 7: What I'm thinking now is because Texas Avenue was going
- 55:00Speaker 7: to now be a right exit highway six northbound is
- 55:03Speaker 7: going to be that fly light and everything Texas Avenue
- 55:05Speaker 7: is going to go under the new flyover. And so
- 55:08Speaker 7: I think that's that's what we're seeing now. That's going
- 55:10Speaker 7: to be interesting to see both southbound and northbound be
- 55:13Speaker 7: the flyover.
- 55:14Speaker 4: Yeah, to do that, And that's what because the girls
- 55:17Speaker 4: were saying those those columns just look big and ugly
- 55:19Speaker 4: and like, well they got to be big. Is that
- 55:21Speaker 4: they're going to carry six lanes of traffic over them.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Oh my god, six lane.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's that is exactly what's gonna love.
- 55:32Speaker 7: But yeah, it's that's been the even if we look
- 55:34Speaker 7: right here like it, it really does feel like and
- 55:38Speaker 7: they're not going to be done in six years, like
- 55:39Speaker 7: that's not gonna happened.
- 55:40Speaker 1: But it seems as though.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Still still still setting the over under at eight.
- 55:45Speaker 7: But it seems as though they are really working quickly
- 55:49Speaker 7: on on that. However, back to our original point, sixty
- 55:52Speaker 7: miles an hour, Yes, especially through like it, especially through there,
- 55:57Speaker 7: that's a that was a horrible interchange before all of this,
- 56:03Speaker 7: and now for it to be kind of where it is,
- 56:06Speaker 7: I'm just just we can we can take our time
- 56:08Speaker 7: people through.
- 56:09Speaker 1: There and no where you go like know where you're going.
- 56:11Speaker 4: Yeah, the other part, the the other, the other thing.
- 56:14Speaker 4: And I know this is impossible to do the oversized loads.
- 56:19Speaker 4: I just I wish, you know, for the next fix
- 56:21Speaker 4: years there was a way that they did not have
- 56:23Speaker 4: to come through here, because those are the ones that
- 56:26Speaker 4: really just make me so nervous when I'm when I'm
- 56:32Speaker 4: either when especially when I'm behind them, but as I'm
- 56:36Speaker 4: driving past them and just see all the cars, I'm
- 56:38Speaker 4: like this, this can only end badly, especially when you
- 56:42Speaker 4: when you shoot the shoot the uh the channel right
- 56:46Speaker 4: there just north of Rockberry.
- 56:50Speaker 7: It wouldn't be a day of me being here if
- 56:53Speaker 7: we didn't talk some NBA and I have some questions
- 56:55Speaker 7: for Jared when it comes to that, and that's all
- 56:58Speaker 7: going to be at the top of the out when
- 57:00Speaker 7: we come back. Chip Our Sports Talk taken over by
- 57:03Speaker 7: Jason and Jared on Sports Radio eleven fifty AM, The
- 57:05Speaker 7: Zone ninety through seven FM
