Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Serenade, so sweet the hour, so calm the time. I
- 0:06Speaker 1: feel it more than half a crime, when nature sleeps
- 0:10Speaker 1: and stars are mute, to mar the silence even with lute.
- 0:17Speaker 1: At rest on ocean's brilliant dyes, an image of Elysium lies.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Seven Pleiades entranced in heaven, form in the deep another seven.
- 0:30Speaker 1: And Demian, nodding from above, sees in the sea a
- 0:34Speaker 1: second love. Within the valleys dim and brown, and on
- 0:40Speaker 1: the spectral mountains crown, the wearied light is dying down,
- 0:46Speaker 1: and earth and stars and sea and sky are redolent
- 0:51Speaker 1: of sleep. as I am redolent of thee and thine,
- 0:57Speaker 1: enthralling love, my Adeline. But list, oh list, so soft
- 1:04Speaker 1: and low, thy lover's voice to night shall flow, that,
- 1:10Speaker 1: scarce awake, thy soul shall deem, my words the music
- 1:15Speaker 1: of a dream. Thus, while no single sound too rude
- 1:20Speaker 1: upon thy slumber shall intrude, our thoughts, our souls, O
- 1:26Speaker 1: God above, in every deed shall mingle love.
