- 0:03Speaker 1: Happy Tears were well back, look at us, those three
- 0:07Speaker 1: stew just Pruzanski krats brawn with you and it's trade
- 0:11Speaker 1: deadline week. Actually I'm happy tears because, aj do you
- 0:16Speaker 1: know what happened last night for one team that hadn't
- 0:19Speaker 1: won in weeks.
- 0:21Speaker 2: The Marlins one?
- 0:22Speaker 1: The Marlins won.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Better back it's been.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Remember they were like ten games over and then all
- 0:29Speaker 3: of a sudden they lose twelve or thirteen in a.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Row, really bad twelve in a row. That is It's crazy, right,
- 0:38Speaker 1: I know you guys. While I was gone, we're gushing
- 0:40Speaker 1: about the Red Sox and what they were able to do.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But the Marlins, meanwhile, we're like, what, I'm going out
- 0:46Speaker 1: of my shot. If you're listening right now.
- 0:50Speaker 2: We had Isaaca zoit.
- 0:52Speaker 4: Isaaca Zoo was on for his birthday and then it
- 0:55Speaker 4: just went downhill and he came back on. Remember how
- 0:59Speaker 4: happy Isaac was. They're moving, guys, and Isaac was on again. Hey,
- 1:03Speaker 4: look on fish on first we got it, but it
- 1:08Speaker 4: was it was bad. It was a bad. It was
- 1:10Speaker 4: a bad game all around yesterday for the Phillies and
- 1:13Speaker 4: the Marlins.
- 1:14Speaker 1: It was a very different combo. I listened to that
- 1:16Speaker 1: one while I was gone, Okay, one thing before we
- 1:19Speaker 1: start charging the mound, and then we will bring it
- 1:23Speaker 1: back in slap hands with your answers. We posted it
- 1:26Speaker 1: on x or Twitter. Let's hear it your most unrealistic
- 1:31Speaker 1: trade deadline prediction. We put Mason Miller up there, so
- 1:34Speaker 1: if you want to throw them out there, go for it. Uh.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Sarah behind the scenes for us said sure school to
- 1:40Speaker 1: the Yankees, whatever I did a Soto to the Yankees
- 1:44Speaker 1: for John Carlow and Luis Heal. Just you can just
- 1:47Speaker 1: throw whatever you want out there and have fun, and
- 1:49Speaker 1: it's a judgment free zone. It doesn't have to make
- 1:51Speaker 1: any sense. So someone Philip put O'tani for Jorge Polanco
- 1:56Speaker 1: like it could be your hopes and dreams. It could
- 1:58Speaker 1: be Star for Star. It could just be crazy, or
- 2:01Speaker 1: it could be something realistic. I'll let AJ and Krats
- 2:05Speaker 1: let it simmer for a little bit. We'll get answers
- 2:07Speaker 1: from them during slap pans. We'll get answers from everyone
- 2:09Speaker 1: else during slap pans to it. There's already been forty responses,
- 2:12Speaker 1: so I won't get to all of them, but I
- 2:14Speaker 1: will get to as many as possible during slap let's charge.
- 2:19Speaker 4: Let's charge on.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Heyj what's the plan for your favorite team, the Chicago Cubs.
- 2:25Speaker 1: They designated Jamison ty On for assignment. I'm pitching well,
- 2:28Speaker 1: but it's kind of crazy when you look at their team,
- 2:30Speaker 1: You're like, wait, the Cubs who are losing all of
- 2:32Speaker 1: these arms? Uh, oh, somebody's home. We might have to
- 2:35Speaker 1: mute AJ.
- 2:36Speaker 3: They just walked in, hold on, hold on, give me
- 2:39Speaker 3: two seconds.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Hold on anything, crats anything. Cubs to not talk about
- 2:45Speaker 1: the Cubs for AJ anything. So they jams and tie
- 2:50Speaker 1: on and they've lost a ton of arms this year.
- 2:52Speaker 1: So this is one that's disappointing for them to not
- 2:54Speaker 1: be able to eat some consistent innings that are quality enough.
- 3:00Speaker 4: For sure. I think you know, a lot's been made
- 3:02Speaker 4: about his clubhouse presence, a lot's been made about a
- 3:06Speaker 4: lot of different things. Jameson Tyne's contract is going to
- 3:09Speaker 4: be the sandwich of a good of a good contract,
- 3:13Speaker 4: tough when he first got there. I hope this move
- 3:17Speaker 4: just marks the beginning of what is going to be
- 3:21Speaker 4: some significant moves in the rotation for the Cubs. I
- 3:24Speaker 4: hope it's something that, yes, they're getting rid of the
- 3:27Speaker 4: guy who is leading the league and home runs allowed. Yes,
- 3:30Speaker 4: they're getting rid of a guy with a above a six RA,
- 3:34Speaker 4: But what did he mean to that clubhouse? How many
- 3:38Speaker 4: wins is that you got? You got to you got
- 3:41Speaker 4: to make the adjustment in the sense of you got
- 3:43Speaker 4: to play better as a player, but as a team,
- 3:45Speaker 4: you got to bring in players who are going to
- 3:48Speaker 4: pitch better. And if they truly think they're just a
- 3:51Speaker 4: playoff team, maybe they keep them. Maybe they truly think
- 3:54Speaker 4: they can be the best team in the National League.
- 3:57Speaker 4: I don't think so, not without a big, big type
- 4:00Speaker 4: of move. But there's big starting pitchers out there.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I don't understand this. They're looking for
- 4:06Speaker 3: pitching anywhere they can find pitching. I know he wasn't having.
- 4:10Speaker 2: A great year. What does he have?
- 4:12Speaker 3: Five point nine to two BRA so it was almost
- 4:14Speaker 3: a six C. But yeah, yeah, I understand that. But
- 4:17Speaker 3: you also need innings, and I guess they think Javier
- 4:20Speaker 3: Asad can give him those innings. Colin Ray has been better.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I mean, but you're already down Horton, You're already down.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Steel SHOWDA hasn't been great. It's it's an interesting move
- 4:29Speaker 3: and interesting time, but hey, you know what the Cubs
- 4:32Speaker 3: thought it was the right move, and they did it.
- 4:34Speaker 3: That's kind of where we're at. I mean, these teams
- 4:37Speaker 3: they don't want to have veteran guys, I feel like,
- 4:39Speaker 3: try to work through stuff. And I know we're deep
- 4:41Speaker 3: into the year so it's a little bit late for that,
- 4:43Speaker 3: but man, it'd be nice to have James and tyn
- 4:45Speaker 3: around for this stretch drive when they're trying to get
- 4:47Speaker 3: to the postseason, for not only just the pitching part
- 4:51Speaker 3: of it, but also just the fact of having him
- 4:54Speaker 3: around to talk to some of the younger guys they
- 4:55Speaker 3: have and just talk and be a veteran presence. Because
- 4:58Speaker 3: everything I've heard about James and is he is awesome
- 5:01Speaker 3: in the room.
- 5:03Speaker 4: I mean, I guess we'll see what the league thinks
- 5:05Speaker 4: of them too, not just the Cubs. Does Jamison Tylan
- 5:08Speaker 4: get a job? I think there's a lot. I would
- 5:10Speaker 4: be surprised if he's not a Philly Do you think Philly?
- 5:14Speaker 4: Wait a minute, Brian Keller's waiting.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Ah.
- 5:16Speaker 4: So there's those things that are happening in the league
- 5:19Speaker 4: right now. They're the decisions that teams have to make.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Do you take a guy that's having success in Triple A?
- 5:25Speaker 4: Bring him up to the big leagues. Do you just
- 5:27Speaker 4: take the automatic veteran guy who is, you know, struggling
- 5:31Speaker 4: compared to what he normally is. That's the decision the
- 5:35Speaker 4: Cubs have to make.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Go grab a ticket to a ballgame this week. See
- 5:40Speaker 1: geek helping you out. We always have the code for
- 5:43Speaker 1: you too if you're new to the party. So yesterday
- 5:45Speaker 1: when we fired this up for the week, guys with
- 5:48Speaker 1: Maryfield and Josh Harrison actually nailed the pop quiz in
- 5:51Speaker 1: terms of which two series I thought had the most
- 5:54Speaker 1: juice with Bubble Teams Orioles taking on the Tigers. Tiger's lost.
- 5:58Speaker 1: We're going to get into that in a sect Diamondbacks
- 6:00Speaker 1: and Pirates as well, Pirates picking up a dub. So
- 6:04Speaker 1: any other particular matchups or if you want to look
- 6:06Speaker 1: at that one again, Mountain's going up against Kramer and
- 6:09Speaker 1: Brandon Fought going up against Bubba chandler Ay Janny series
- 6:14Speaker 1: that you're dialed in on this week. I have a
- 6:16Speaker 1: feeling I know what you're going to say.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Oh no, I don't think you do.
- 6:20Speaker 3: I'm interested in the Mariners and the Dodgers because the
- 6:23Speaker 3: Mariners just lost three out of four to Texas and
- 6:26Speaker 3: Texas is in first place, and everyone thought at some point,
- 6:29Speaker 3: especially after the Mariors had that wasn't a nine game
- 6:31Speaker 3: winning streak. Everyone's like, here comes the Mariners. Well, guess
- 6:34Speaker 3: what the Mariners since like the beginning of June scoring
- 6:37Speaker 3: zero runs a game, cannot hit home runs, they strike
- 6:40Speaker 3: out a ton, their pitching has fallen off a little bit,
- 6:43Speaker 3: and now they just lose three out of four to Texas,
- 6:45Speaker 3: and now they got to go face the Dodgers in
- 6:46Speaker 3: Los Angeles and they.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Get Robleski the first night, an All Star pitcher.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I want to see how they react because they got
- 6:53Speaker 3: to get something figured out, and see if Jerry Depoto
- 6:56Speaker 3: has enough faith in them to make a move to
- 6:58Speaker 3: try to help them, because right now, well the Mariners
- 7:01Speaker 3: are not a good team.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Hey, you have to show your GM that you actually
- 7:06Speaker 1: have the team with the sauce. By the way, that
- 7:08Speaker 1: is the exact series I was thinking for you. Now,
- 7:09Speaker 1: I'm just kidding. I was thinking Yankees, White Sox, but
- 7:12Speaker 1: Crats anything else?
- 7:13Speaker 4: I know, No, I mean, that's that's it. I think
- 7:18Speaker 4: for me, a little bit of intrigue in the Cubs Cardinals.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Are the Cardinals going to continue on the slide that
- 7:24Speaker 4: they've been on, not scoring enough, and can the Cubs
- 7:29Speaker 4: just I mean, I think they're just a team that's
- 7:31Speaker 4: constantly on the rise. Obviously, the whole tie own thing,
- 7:36Speaker 4: we'll see where they go. But I just feel like
- 7:40Speaker 4: the Cubs have been playing over the last month a
- 7:43Speaker 4: little bit different, a little bit different, and I think
- 7:45Speaker 4: anytime you have a anl Central matchup, it's always a
- 7:49Speaker 4: good matchup.
- 7:51Speaker 1: One other quick note, could be the last start for
- 7:54Speaker 1: redet Meer's in an Angel's uniform. Could be the last
- 7:57Speaker 1: start for Sandiel Contra in a mar uniform, depending on
- 8:01Speaker 1: what they do. No, definitely no, Ye're like never going
- 8:05Speaker 1: to trade him.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm so tired of hearing, oh, Sandial concert might get traded.
- 8:08Speaker 3: They're never going to trade them.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It's like, we don't want to trade them. Trade them, please.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I think if they get the right
- 8:16Speaker 1: asking price, but you're right, probably not now. Maybe in
- 8:19Speaker 1: the off season. Territory ten ten percent off MLB ticket
- 8:22Speaker 1: seek cooks you up. If you can't find a ticket,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you can find it on sea Geek, officially licensed with MLB.
- 8:28Speaker 1: That's the ticket marketplace officially for MLB that helps you
- 8:31Speaker 1: out with the green dot the red dot, making sure
- 8:34Speaker 1: that you pick the right seats at the right time
- 8:36Speaker 1: to take advantage of your evening. It's not even just
- 8:38Speaker 1: important and steal. Edward Carber is still out right, he's
- 8:43Speaker 1: supposed to come back next month. Ben Brown out indefinitely.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't know if there's an official timetable there. The
- 8:49Speaker 1: David Peterson pick up has been something, right. It's guys
- 8:53Speaker 1: like that, I think AJ, where they're like, hey, we
- 8:55Speaker 1: have Peterson stuff over tie On stuff. We're going to
- 9:00Speaker 1: have him replace like you mentioned Asad, and then as
- 9:04Speaker 1: other guys trickle in, that'll help Aaron Soavali too right,
- 9:08Speaker 1: they're going, okay here, here are a number of starters
- 9:10Speaker 1: that are more in the four to five range, and
- 9:13Speaker 1: they're pushing tie On out and that's how they looked
- 9:15Speaker 1: at it here. But yes, he'll get dfaed cut and
- 9:18Speaker 1: then scooped up by another team looking for back end
- 9:21Speaker 1: starting rotation help plus change of scenery, even for guys
- 9:24Speaker 1: that are deep into their career. We've seen it so
- 9:26Speaker 1: many times frequently. That is the one thing right. We
- 9:29Speaker 1: can definitely knock every team thinking the same way, AJ,
- 9:32Speaker 1: But sometimes a team does have a little special sauce
- 9:35Speaker 1: in terms of making a suggestion to a picture. I
- 9:37Speaker 1: think it's gotten easier for teams to say, listen, we've
- 9:39Speaker 1: got one thing we'd like you to try with the
- 9:42Speaker 1: data that we see, will you go for it? Sometimes
- 9:45Speaker 1: a picture gets a reality check when it's not going
- 9:47Speaker 1: well for them, and they're more down to switch it up.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I'm not saying I don't know Tyon's exact case and
- 9:52Speaker 1: communications with the Cubs, but we've seen that pretty often.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it has happened.
- 9:58Speaker 3: It happens when guys move around they say, hey, we
- 9:59Speaker 3: think you can and use this pitch more effectively if
- 10:02Speaker 3: you throw it here, or if you change up your mix,
- 10:05Speaker 3: or if you change your grip here and there, and
- 10:06Speaker 3: they have. It happens a lot. So I'm not saying
- 10:09Speaker 3: it can't happen. I just I don't know. It seems
- 10:11Speaker 3: like a weird time for a team that really goes
- 10:13Speaker 3: looking for innings. But hey, the Cubs. The Cubs are
- 10:15Speaker 3: gonna do what they're gonna want to do no matter
- 10:16Speaker 3: what we say about them. They already made this decision,
- 10:18Speaker 3: so it's already happened, and Tian will pop up somewhere,
- 10:21Speaker 3: I'm sure, on the team that probably has a chance
- 10:23Speaker 3: to go to the postseason, and he'll probably pitch some
- 10:27Speaker 3: significant innings for him.
- 10:28Speaker 2: I mean.
- 10:28Speaker 3: The thing that scares you a little bit though, is
- 10:30Speaker 3: the strikeouts, right, seventy six innings, only sixty eight strikeouts.
- 10:34Speaker 3: That's not a big number for a guy who used
- 10:36Speaker 3: to strike out some dudes back in back with a
- 10:38Speaker 3: few years ago.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, in the home runs I mean, and the home runs,
- 10:43Speaker 2: I mean.
- 10:45Speaker 4: The homers, some of that can be attributed to Chicago.
- 10:49Speaker 4: But reality is he's leading the league and home runs allowed.
- 10:52Speaker 4: He only has seventy six innings pitched. But to me,
- 10:56Speaker 4: I think when I look at it, and this is
- 10:57Speaker 4: completely my opinion, is he's not in that top three
- 11:02Speaker 4: of the guys in this rotation. The other guys that
- 11:05Speaker 4: they're keeping have a little bit of versatility, David Peterson,
- 11:09Speaker 4: Colin Ray, those guys can slot into the bullpen. Not
- 11:13Speaker 4: saying he should have been kept over those guys, I'm
- 11:16Speaker 4: saying if they make a move, when they make a
- 11:19Speaker 4: move for a starter, Jamison town probably with his injury
- 11:23Speaker 4: history recently getting up there a little bit in age,
- 11:26Speaker 4: just how he's been used maybe they don't feel like
- 11:29Speaker 4: he's able to be slotted into the pen, and so
- 11:32Speaker 4: he was the one guy out.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Okay, what's next? What do we have for the Cubs?
- 11:40Speaker 1: All we're doing for the next week is talking trades,
- 11:42Speaker 1: trade deadline. You gotta get you got to.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Get a start.
- 11:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, they got to get a top and starter
- 11:51Speaker 3: for me if they want to do damage in the postseason.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Matthew Boyd has been has been good since he's come back, Right,
- 11:56Speaker 3: but the rest? Does that rotation scare you? If you're
- 11:59Speaker 3: going up again the Dodgers. Are they walking into play
- 12:02Speaker 3: a five game series, best of five, you know, three
- 12:04Speaker 3: out of five against the Cubs and they're like, oh, no,
- 12:06Speaker 3: we have to face those guys.
- 12:09Speaker 2: No.
- 12:09Speaker 3: No, If you go into face Milwaukee and you have
- 12:12Speaker 3: Miserowski and you have Harrison healthy, and then if they
- 12:15Speaker 3: go out and get someone else and add to that Dan,
- 12:18Speaker 3: that's a team where you're like, wow, you know they
- 12:20Speaker 3: God forbid if they went out and got Schooble, that
- 12:22Speaker 3: scares you a little bit, right, But I don't think
- 12:24Speaker 3: teams going into a five game or a best of
- 12:26Speaker 3: seven against the Chicago Cubs the way their rotation is, right, now,
- 12:30Speaker 3: it doesn't scare a lot of teams.
- 12:31Speaker 2: I don't feel like it's enough.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Well, Foster Griffin's been talked about a ton. Robbie Ray
- 12:41Speaker 1: is definitely going to get traded, and he's been pitching
- 12:43Speaker 1: well at the right time. Maybe Gospin gets traded and
- 12:47Speaker 1: finds it. I'm sure he will. He's just going through
- 12:50Speaker 1: a little bit of a rough patch in my mind.
- 12:52Speaker 1: And then, of course Schooble's a big dog. I don't
- 12:54Speaker 1: think the Cubs are gonna trade for Schooble. I don't
- 12:57Speaker 1: see that one. I don't see them giving up the farm.
- 12:59Speaker 1: And I'm holding what Who was it either? I think
- 13:02Speaker 1: it was Patrick Mooney on the show last week said
- 13:05Speaker 1: that that we've knocked right cups. Front office wants to
- 13:09Speaker 1: be in a position for a buy or they are
- 13:11Speaker 1: not pushing full chips in, they'll push half chips in.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I actually believe in that, So I think that they'll
- 13:16Speaker 1: go Schoogle. Nope, what's the next tier? Okay, maybe a Ray,
- 13:21Speaker 1: maybe a Foster Griffin Ryan, And that's a guy who
- 13:23Speaker 1: can pitch a playoff game for US, Joe Ryan if
- 13:26Speaker 1: they trade him, I don't know if they're trading him.
- 13:28Speaker 1: I mean, I keep seeing people throw out there that
- 13:31Speaker 1: the Twins are going to kind of just see if
- 13:33Speaker 1: this team makes around. Like, if you trade Joe Ryan
- 13:35Speaker 1: and you're the Twins, you're punting right now. The Twins
- 13:39Speaker 1: are out of whatever amount, they're not out of it,
- 13:41Speaker 1: So I don't know if they're three sounds about right
- 13:46Speaker 1: one of you can look while we're chatting, but it's
- 13:48Speaker 1: it's tight. So if they're not out of it, Joe
- 13:51Speaker 1: Ryan is like, my season is done. And I know
- 13:53Speaker 1: Joe Ryan is not pitched as well in the last
- 13:55Speaker 1: month or so as he did in the first half,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and he's got some tail of two halves in his career,
- 14:00Speaker 1: but still you're punting if you trade Joe Ryan right now.
- 14:03Speaker 1: I don't know if they're going to based on how
- 14:05Speaker 1: the games ownership is looking at the current situation there.
- 14:08Speaker 1: They're three games out, I mean, you know this age of.
- 14:10Speaker 3: The division, and they're one game out of the last
- 14:11Speaker 3: wild card, so they're right there because.
- 14:13Speaker 1: They're probably going to take yeah, and the Twins will
- 14:16Speaker 1: add a bullpen armor two and say, look, we're trying
- 14:18Speaker 1: a little bit and we're not actually punting, and and
- 14:21Speaker 1: that's actually progress in Minnesota right now?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 14:28Speaker 4: No?
- 14:29Speaker 2: I agree? I agree.
- 14:30Speaker 4: I think I think it's based on less on what
- 14:34Speaker 4: they should do and more on what have they done?
- 14:37Speaker 4: Did the Cubs the Cubs moves this offseason? Did that
- 14:41Speaker 4: signify that the Cubs are pushing in Because if that's
- 14:43Speaker 4: the case, then I think it'll they'll get that higher
- 14:47Speaker 4: end picture that they're looking for, the higher end starting piece,
- 14:50Speaker 4: the one more big bullpen piece. But I don't know
- 14:53Speaker 4: that the Bregman move, the Edward Carrera who's going to
- 14:56Speaker 4: be coming back, is that it was that move like
- 14:59Speaker 4: the well, we're pushing all in here, this is our time.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I think they just have slowly tried to make their
- 15:05Speaker 4: team a little bit better. So I think they're gonna
- 15:07Speaker 4: stay with that mo and they're gonna get a Robbie
- 15:10Speaker 4: Ray type. They're gonna get that piece that fits into
- 15:14Speaker 4: the rotation. And if they get a hot month and
- 15:17Speaker 4: a half, you know what, you'll pitch game three. You
- 15:20Speaker 4: know what, you'll get four innings in a best of
- 15:24Speaker 4: five series because we don't really have this mega rotation
- 15:29Speaker 4: that's just gonna we're looking to hopefully win instead of yes,
- 15:35Speaker 4: this is gonna move that we're gonna make that's gonna
- 15:37Speaker 4: put us over the top.
- 15:38Speaker 1: To win it.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I don't think they feel like they've got it all
- 15:42Speaker 1: this year. I think they feel like they have something
- 15:44Speaker 1: playoff worthy, but not necessarily. The push the Chips in Situation.
- 15:49Speaker 1: North Side Territory covers all of this. Patrick Mooney has
- 15:53Speaker 1: popped up frequently on our show, same with Saidev Sharma.
- 15:56Speaker 1: John Lester new addition to that show too. So if
- 15:58Speaker 1: you want to listen to the twenty six sixteen World
- 16:00Speaker 1: Series Champ along with two Cubs reporters out there in Chicago,
- 16:04Speaker 1: go for it QR code podcast platforms. However you want
- 16:08Speaker 1: to find it, Pat Murphy. This come coming from Todd Rosiack,
- 16:11Speaker 1: who covers the team. Murph made it clear he wasn't
- 16:13Speaker 1: making excuses for what happened, but he did mention the
- 16:16Speaker 1: Burr sat on the runway in Milwaukee for five hours
- 16:18Speaker 1: on Sunday night due to issues with their charter plane,
- 16:20Speaker 1: led to a very late arrival in San Francisco. Obviously
- 16:23Speaker 1: not optimal. I used to say, sure, but aja the way,
- 16:26Speaker 1: the Red Sox have done this a couple times this
- 16:28Speaker 1: year and been caught with travel issues and then look, Gangbusters,
- 16:32Speaker 1: I'm like, may whatever, I know what you're going to say.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Deal with it.
- 16:37Speaker 3: Yeah, deal with it. They had a bad game. That's
- 16:39Speaker 3: why they didn't lose because of the plane. I mean,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and listen, nobody, everyone at home is going to say
- 16:44Speaker 3: this thing. Right here, they're on charter planes. It's not
- 16:46Speaker 3: like they're sitting in the airport in the terminal. They're
- 16:49Speaker 3: sitting on the plane waiting. They're getting drinks or getting food.
- 16:52Speaker 3: They're getting they have, you know, TVs or whatever. I've
- 16:55Speaker 3: never been on the Burgers plane, but I'm assuming they
- 16:56Speaker 3: have like first class seats and everyone's hanging out.
- 17:00Speaker 2: So, I mean, they.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Got at least they were going east to west. They
- 17:03Speaker 3: didn't go west to east, where they would have lost
- 17:05Speaker 3: more time. So at least they had the advantage of
- 17:07Speaker 3: going east to west. From when they got in. They
- 17:09Speaker 3: picked up a couple hours, so then they got to
- 17:11Speaker 3: sleep in. They just had a bad game. Sure they
- 17:13Speaker 3: had travel issues, but nobody cares. Nobody cares, Honestly, at
- 17:17Speaker 3: the end of the day, nobody cares.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Just go play good yep, exactly, I'm with you. Hey, Also,

- 17:56Speaker 1: now as we talk about a great brand that makes
- 17:59Speaker 1: things so comfortable, easy to wear. But if you're listening
- 18:02Speaker 1: to the show, let me tell you a little bit
- 18:03Speaker 1: more about mac Weldon with my friend Aer Kratz.
- 18:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it's comfortable, it's light, it's summertime right now. For me, though,
- 18:13Speaker 4: they cater to what I need tall clothes. Normally, when
- 18:16Speaker 4: I buy tall clothes it's like something that's cumbersome and boxy.
- 18:21Speaker 4: It still fits incredibly well, super light, perfect for the summertime.
- 18:26Speaker 2: They got me all covered.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Comfortable performance material can be yours. Mac Weldon is the spot.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Don't sweat the heat this summer. Feel as effortlessly cool

- 18:44Speaker 1: code foul. That's m ackw e l d o n
- 18:47Speaker 1: dot com code foul hot Saizelhot corner who. Originally, when
- 18:55Speaker 1: Cody Bellinger went down, I was seeing some tweets like, hey,
- 18:58Speaker 1: they don't know if it'll be an il trip. Now
- 18:59Speaker 1: it's a great two on the hamstring strain a j
- 19:02Speaker 1: That means four to six weeks for Belly and it's okay,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I mean he'll be back for the stretch run. For
- 19:09Speaker 1: the Yankees, the bigger issue for them has just been
- 19:12Speaker 1: what we expect when Aaron Judge goes down. So Judge
- 19:15Speaker 1: last played on May thirty first. Since then, the Yankees
- 19:17Speaker 1: have put up one hundred and eighty three runs that
- 19:19Speaker 1: is twenty sixth in Baseball twenty sixth, So their offense
- 19:25Speaker 1: stinks without Judge, what do you know? And then who's
- 19:27Speaker 1: been their second best hitter? Probably Bellinger now he's out
- 19:31Speaker 1: for a while.
- 19:33Speaker 2: No Ben Rice?
- 19:34Speaker 1: Oh sorry, Ben Rice Rice, My bad, My bad? Yes,
- 19:38Speaker 1: three Ben Rice, for sure, bet, but I forgot about it.
- 19:41Speaker 3: And Ben Rice has literally been the only one that's
- 19:43Speaker 3: been hitting, because even before Bellinger got hurt, he was
- 19:45Speaker 3: he was struggling too. He wasn't exactly swinging it great. Uh,
- 19:49Speaker 3: no one else on this team is swinging it very well.
- 19:51Speaker 3: You lose Judge and now you lose Bellinger.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Stanton.
- 19:55Speaker 3: We never know when he's going to come back. Every
- 19:56Speaker 3: time they say he gets close, there's a stepback. We
- 19:59Speaker 3: haven't heard really anything on Judge. Have we do we
- 20:01Speaker 3: have any update on Judge other than we're gonna get
- 20:03Speaker 3: imaging and more imaging and he's got the MRI machine
- 20:07Speaker 3: has to be worn out because he's had so much
- 20:08Speaker 3: imaging done.
- 20:09Speaker 2: So I just don't know. I don't know what the
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yankees do. The Yankees can still.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Really pitch when you have Freed and Cole and Schlittler
- 20:17Speaker 3: and the way they run out their pitchers. Weathers has
- 20:19Speaker 3: been pretty good for him, I mean, so their bullpen's
- 20:22Speaker 3: been good with Hedrick and bed Narn some of the
- 20:25Speaker 3: other guys, so they can really pitch. But man, the Yankees,
- 20:28Speaker 3: the Yankees are the Bronx bombers. They're not the Bronx chuckers.
- 20:31Speaker 3: They're not the Bronx pitchers, right, They're supposed to go
- 20:33Speaker 3: out there and hit home runs, and it hasn't been there.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Their offense has not been what we thought it would be. Now,
- 20:39Speaker 3: whether it's injuries or what. But yeah, this Bellinger losing
- 20:43Speaker 3: Belincher hurts.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Man. I mean, look at those averages. Look at the
- 20:45Speaker 2: batting averages.
- 20:46Speaker 3: On the New York Yankees, and then even the home runs.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Remember jess Chisham was supposed to go fifty to fifty
- 20:51Speaker 3: this year. Didn't Paul Goldsman just go like, oh for
- 20:54Speaker 3: forty or some crazy number. So, I mean, it's it's
- 20:56Speaker 3: been interesting to watch the Yankees struggle to score runs.
- 21:02Speaker 4: Obviously, I think there's the issue. What I say, the
- 21:07Speaker 4: twenty sixth most run scored since Aaron Judge has been
- 21:10Speaker 4: out Like to me, I think when Aaron Judge is in,
- 21:15Speaker 4: I feel like in the lineup, I feel like you
- 21:17Speaker 4: can have certain types of at bats, like, hey, you
- 21:20Speaker 4: know what what does it take to get on base?
- 21:23Speaker 4: It's great to have a great on base percentage, but
- 21:25Speaker 4: if you don't have that one feared slugger in the lineup,
- 21:29Speaker 4: where is this team going to be able to score from? Yes,
- 21:33Speaker 4: they're second, I think second in the league. And home
- 21:35Speaker 4: runs right now. You have to be able to manufacture.
- 21:38Speaker 4: And I think that's why Yankee fans. Whether you look
- 21:42Speaker 4: at the Baseball Savant page, there's a lot of blue
- 21:44Speaker 4: on Jose Cabiro's Baseball Savant page. I think he encapsulates
- 21:50Speaker 4: what Yankees' hitters should be when Judge is not in
- 21:54Speaker 4: the lineup. How do you figure it out? How do
- 21:57Speaker 4: you get the job done? Don't be just one demand
- 22:00Speaker 4: as a team. Be able to fight through things, fight
- 22:05Speaker 4: through different types of pictures. I see the same thing
- 22:07Speaker 4: with the Phillies. The Phillies, you watch them and you're like, Okay, well,
- 22:11Speaker 4: if we don't get a big if we don't get
- 22:13Speaker 4: a big homer somewhere here or there, how are we
- 22:16Speaker 4: getting things done? And I think the Yankees lineup needs
- 22:19Speaker 4: to create their own a different identity. Two scoring runs
- 22:23Speaker 4: when Judge isn't in there, and I think it's something
- 22:27Speaker 4: that how do you take care of that? How do
- 22:31Speaker 4: you solve that issue at the trade deadline? I have
- 22:35Speaker 4: no idea because everybody's looking for hitting.
- 22:39Speaker 1: And also you're hoping that you don't need to do
- 22:42Speaker 1: too much with your outfield. If you think that Judge
- 22:45Speaker 1: is going to return, and Spellinger is going to return,
- 22:47Speaker 1: Judge should return. They keep saying he's going to come back,
- 22:51Speaker 1: when then comes back, Belly comes back? When for Judge?
- 22:54Speaker 1: I mean we're looking at most.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Next year, September.
- 22:57Speaker 3: I mean, we haven't heard what was the last update
- 22:59Speaker 3: we had other than it was imaging. I haven't heard
- 23:01Speaker 3: any of Have you guys heard any updates?
- 23:03Speaker 1: The only update that I've seen what No, No, no, The
- 23:07Speaker 1: only update I've seen is we don't have a timetable,
- 23:10Speaker 1: but he's coming back this year.
- 23:13Speaker 4: No, he got his he got his other, he got
- 23:15Speaker 4: his other imaging and it was not healing as fast
- 23:18Speaker 4: as they had hoped. Very vague, very vague. But it
- 23:21Speaker 4: was right around the All Star break when they took
- 23:23Speaker 4: the imaging, and it's not what they were hoping it
- 23:26Speaker 4: was going to heal so he could take the next
- 23:28Speaker 4: step in his rehab. Again, what's the next step like
- 23:32Speaker 4: get off the couch, swing with two hands? Stop? You
- 23:36Speaker 4: know who? We don't have any other information outside that.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Not great. I still think he's going to come back,
- 23:44Speaker 1: but I think aj it's going to be September, so
- 23:48Speaker 1: that definitely hurts.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Well, you're going to need a ramp up time because
- 23:51Speaker 3: we're already almost into August and he hasn't done anything
- 23:54Speaker 3: for two months now, so there's going to have to
- 23:56Speaker 3: be a ramp up time. It's not like, you know,
- 23:58Speaker 3: it's not like you can just jump back in. He's
- 24:00Speaker 3: gonna have to go on a rehab. He's gonna have
- 24:01Speaker 3: to start with twenty swings off of te right, and
- 24:04Speaker 3: then twenty live swings and then twenty flips, and then
- 24:08Speaker 3: he's gonna have to get a you know, probably at
- 24:10Speaker 3: least a week of it backs because he's gonna have
- 24:12Speaker 3: to play the outfield. He's gonna have to build up
- 24:14Speaker 3: to nine innings. He's not just going to start the
- 24:15Speaker 3: first game and after two months and the Yankees are
- 24:18Speaker 3: gonna say, oh, you know what, Judgie, go play the
- 24:20Speaker 3: right field for nine innings and triple A against you
- 24:22Speaker 3: know whoever. No, he's gonna have to start with three
- 24:25Speaker 3: innings or five innings and slowly work.
- 24:27Speaker 2: He's basically enough to have spring training all over again.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Hey, Curtis Mead gets moved over to the Red Sox
- 24:33Speaker 1: and poor guy Bruce left wrist right from the jump.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Chad Tracy, manager said, we're going to take a day
- 24:39Speaker 1: to day. See how he feels. Coming in a little
- 24:40Speaker 1: sore at least right now, looks like we dodged a bullet.
- 24:42Speaker 1: So X ray's were negative, But man, I'm mrourting for
- 24:46Speaker 1: this guy a j He was a top end prospect
- 24:49Speaker 1: then the White Sox DFAM. He bounced around in some trades,
- 24:53Speaker 1: found a home with the NATS. I hope that he
- 24:55Speaker 1: finds success with the Red Sox here. Plus I loved
- 24:58Speaker 1: Dan Colkos whatever he would say something mate on the
- 25:02Speaker 1: home run call. We'll see if that continues with Dave
- 25:05Speaker 1: O'Brien and Mike Monaco and whoever calls Red Sox games
- 25:08Speaker 1: when he's hit hitting dingers.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I'm a great air too, So that's what
- 25:13Speaker 2: you don't want to get hurt for that. Just he's
- 25:16Speaker 2: having a really good year.
- 25:16Speaker 3: He's finally gotten, you know, playing time where he could
- 25:19Speaker 3: play consistently, and he's made the most of it. So
- 25:22Speaker 3: you never want to see a guy get traded in
- 25:24Speaker 3: the first game, get hit in the hand rister and
- 25:26Speaker 3: then oh man, now he's going to be out for.
- 25:28Speaker 2: A month, Like oh no, that would have been awful.
- 25:30Speaker 2: So this is good positive news. We need more positive nudes.
- 25:33Speaker 3: And good luck to me getting back out there and
- 25:36Speaker 3: trying to be the bat the Red Sox desperately need.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Neither of you guys were on Monday. By the way,
- 25:41Speaker 1: what did you think of the trade? After you answer
- 25:43Speaker 1: whatever you're going to say, Kratz.
- 25:45Speaker 4: No, that's exactly what I'm so intrigued by this trade,
- 25:49Speaker 4: going from an organization like the Nats who have had
- 25:51Speaker 4: this hitting resurgence, you know, is it Oh, what are
- 25:55Speaker 4: the things the Nats are doing to a Red Sox
- 25:59Speaker 4: team who has a ton of young prospect hitters on
- 26:03Speaker 4: it where they're just kind of hitting kind of well,
- 26:05Speaker 4: but like, hey, we love the pitching. We're gonna continue
- 26:08Speaker 4: pushing the pitching. I'll be interested to see how Curtis
- 26:11Speaker 4: made transitions into this new role, new team, all that stuff,
- 26:17Speaker 4: because with the Gnats it was almost like we're rolling
- 26:20Speaker 4: the dice. We're gonna go out here, and guys are
- 26:22Speaker 4: having career years all over the place.
- 26:25Speaker 2: With the Nats. Not so much.
- 26:27Speaker 1: With the Red Sox, you would think shocked they gave
- 26:33Speaker 1: up early.
- 26:35Speaker 3: That was when I saw this treat I was like, Wow,
- 26:37Speaker 3: that seems like a high price to pay. No offense
- 26:40Speaker 3: to me, but wow, I was like, isn't he supposed
- 26:43Speaker 3: to be one of the guys for the Red Sox
- 26:44Speaker 3: for years to come? And they traded him. They must
- 26:47Speaker 3: not think as highly of them as we do.
- 26:51Speaker 1: No, and you guys missed this, But I gave credit
- 26:53Speaker 1: to Breslo yesterday that he had his most human quote
- 26:56Speaker 1: definitely of the year, if not of his tenure, where
- 26:59Speaker 1: he was just like, hey, everybody's got the same info
- 27:02Speaker 1: and I just had a team eat and I went
- 27:04Speaker 1: for it.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Like that.
- 27:09Speaker 1: It's a good quote. Hey, We've got GM territory working
- 27:15Speaker 1: hard this week. Jim and Trey Bowden are putting out
- 27:18Speaker 1: a new episode every single day. There's another one up today,
- 27:24Speaker 1: go check it out. Part of the FT Network. It's
- 27:26Speaker 1: really good stuff. We try and bring you premium trade
- 27:29Speaker 1: deadline coverage from every angle. This is the GM perspective.
- 27:33Speaker 1: We've got insiders of course, Ken joining us later, Robert
- 27:36Speaker 1: Murray on yesterday, just roll down the line of the
- 27:39Speaker 1: great minds and people that are part of the broadcast
- 27:43Speaker 1: and media world that are inside the FT Network. So
- 27:46Speaker 1: just want to shout that out. Everyone's working really hard
- 27:49Speaker 1: this week and next week. We did the big promo too,
- 27:52Speaker 1: which maybe we'll do later. But are you guys excited
- 27:54Speaker 1: for Monday the marathon?
- 28:00Speaker 4: For that?
- 28:01Speaker 1: I think so exciting, one of my favorite days of
- 28:05Speaker 1: the year.
- 28:06Speaker 2: At least you won't have Where will One Go?
- 28:10Speaker 1: That's an off season thing.
- 28:12Speaker 4: I mean we could. We could probably cook something up.
- 28:15Speaker 4: Producer Lady could cook something up. Where Will Anyone Go?
- 28:19Speaker 4: Maybe that's what we could call it.
- 28:21Speaker 1: What about where will Terrek Go?
- 28:24Speaker 2: Doesn't doesn't work as well?
- 28:26Speaker 1: We can think of something catchier.
- 28:30Speaker 2: You need a little bitter effort out, you guys. I
- 28:33Speaker 2: mean where will Anyone Go? That is good?
- 28:36Speaker 4: That is that is tremendous. There's gonna be so many moves,
- 28:39Speaker 4: It's gonna be so great. Our slack channel is going
- 28:42Speaker 4: to be just blowing up with did you see this?
- 28:44Speaker 4: We'll get to this not important, unbelievable, what are they doing?
- 28:48Speaker 2: Idiots?
- 28:48Speaker 4: And it's gonna be five hours of just awesomeness and
- 28:51Speaker 4: you going ugh, I never want to talk about more
- 28:53Speaker 4: CBA stuff.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Do you know how many trades were made on trade
- 28:57Speaker 1: deadline Day last year? I mentioned this on yesterday show,
- 29:00Speaker 1: but I know you guys weren't listening. Do you know
- 29:01Speaker 1: how many give a guest how made you.
- 29:04Speaker 2: Say sixty four.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Hey, j.
- 29:09Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say sixty.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Nine thirty six on trade deadline day, not like during
- 29:15Speaker 1: the length of the trade deadline in the day itself.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Oh sure, sure, and you meant sixty nine players.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Giggity yep and house guys, is it not a player?
- 29:27Speaker 1: I'll be here all day.
- 29:28Speaker 2: That's a lot.
- 29:30Speaker 1: That's a lot. Thirty dude, thirty six trades. I know
- 29:33Speaker 1: we're not in the entire time we're on usually I
- 29:35Speaker 1: think it's like one to six, But imagine even if
- 29:38Speaker 1: it was twenty during that time period, the amount of
- 29:42Speaker 1: times that we stop what we're doing and then go
- 29:44Speaker 1: over another trade that pops up. Last year, Mason Miller
- 29:49Speaker 1: getting dealt to the Padres. That was fun, huge, Let's
- 30:09Speaker 1: slap a couple of minutes left. We're staying on for
- 30:10Speaker 1: bonus time on YouTube like we normally do on the
- 30:13Speaker 1: Foul Territory YouTube channel. But we did most unrealistic trade
- 30:17Speaker 1: predictions and threw them out there or trade thoughts, and
- 30:22Speaker 1: we had I don't know, fifty ish responses now since
- 30:25Speaker 1: we announced it. One of my favorites comes from Ricky
- 30:28Speaker 1: Flow sixteen Preller trades, Mason Miller for a crazy haul
- 30:32Speaker 1: just to immediately trade the Hall for Schooble and Joe Ryan.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I just thought that was fun and crafty and aj
- 30:39Speaker 1: Preler madness. Right, you're like, oh you sol, No, he
- 30:42Speaker 1: actually bought.
- 30:44Speaker 2: He would do that.
- 30:46Speaker 1: He would do something like that, anything crazy, Right, He
- 30:51Speaker 1: needs prospects, so he trade someone away for prospects. We
- 30:53Speaker 1: had like the Otani for Judge, just you know, throwing
- 30:57Speaker 1: throwing whatever you want out there, just for fun, anything
- 31:00Speaker 1: unrealistic that you guys want to throw out there.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Yeah, White Sox gets Schooble.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Jerry won't trade in the division, except for this time,
- 31:09Speaker 3: you will because he really wants Church Schooble. So Jerry
- 31:12Speaker 3: rydser of trades for Church Schooble in the division.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Who pays for him, the Tigers, And then they give
- 31:18Speaker 1: him more prospects.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Yeah, they give them, you know, they give them their
- 31:22Speaker 3: thirty second ranked prospects.
- 31:23Speaker 2: So that way the Tigers pay more. Right.
- 31:27Speaker 4: JJ Cooper said the other day, He's like, it's surprising
- 31:30Speaker 4: how many prospects traded the trade deadline. Don't really have
- 31:33Speaker 4: anything but a fringe big league career, Yeah, because they
- 31:37Speaker 4: don't trade any of the good players. And teams are fraid, scared,
- 31:40Speaker 4: super afraid. That's why you got to go after Lindor.
- 31:43Speaker 4: If you're the Yankees, go get them. Give me a ball, Francisco,
- 31:47Speaker 4: he already lives. He doesn't even need to. Yeah, you
- 31:49Speaker 4: don't have to pay for the moving expenses. I already
- 31:52Speaker 4: said that. That was my bold one that I said
- 31:54Speaker 4: during the show.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought that was fun. I thought that was
- 31:57Speaker 1: crafty and creative and unrealistic. But hey, well let me
- 32:01Speaker 1: take a layer of what you were saying there. If
- 32:04Speaker 1: it did happen, AJ, do you think that Lindor would
- 32:07Speaker 1: wave his no trade class?
- 32:12Speaker 2: Yeah? I do, you too, think you would.
- 32:14Speaker 3: I think you would one, I think you would, And
- 32:17Speaker 3: I think he would be the right reason that he
- 32:19Speaker 3: did it because he wants to go to a team
- 32:20Speaker 3: and has a better chance right now of winning than
- 32:23Speaker 3: the Mets too.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Yeah, hundred percent. That is the show for today. Good
- 32:29Speaker 1: to be back with the boys. We could do Kratz
- 32:31Speaker 1: hats on the way out.
- 32:35Speaker 4: Sneaky team. We didn't talk about today. The Pirates. I'm
- 32:38Speaker 4: gonna say, I'm at the shore, so I got to
- 32:40Speaker 4: have my celebrate two fifty hat. But maybe the Pirates
- 32:45Speaker 4: need to be make some type of move here that
- 32:48Speaker 4: doesn't cost him a lot of money, upgrades that brutal bullpen,
- 32:53Speaker 4: which they got rid of at the trade deadline last year.
- 32:55Speaker 4: And they probably wish they had beteno right now.
- 32:57Speaker 1: If they had a mediocre bullpen all season, they'd be
- 33:00Speaker 1: a playoff team. They don't, so they need to fix
- 33:03Speaker 1: that fast. But they're still in the memo. Yeah, they've
- 33:07Speaker 1: got time, so we'll see what they do over the
- 33:09Speaker 1: next week. So much straight outline coverage stick with us.
